- 1:45Charles: Shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up.
- 1:47Charles: My phone went off while we were going
- 1:50Charles: and it was on silent.
- 1:51Nora: It was on silent.
- 1:52Charles: It was on silent, so hold on, hold on.
- 1:54Charles: Let me make sure it could be in the watch.
- 1:56Nora: I literally hate when my watch beeps,
- 1:58Nora: like it drives me crazy.
- 2:02Nora: Anyway, hi, I'm Nora.
- 2:04Nora: Hello. - Welcome to VodTech.
- 2:05Charles: Hello, Nora,
- 2:06Charles: I am Charles, nice to meet you.
- 2:07Nora: Nice to meet you.
- 2:08Charles: Nice to meet you so much.
- 2:10Charles: It's so great being on the show for the first time.
- 2:15Charles: Long time listener,
- 2:16Charles: first time.
- 2:16Nora: First time caller.
- 2:17Charles: First time caller.
- 2:18Nora: Did you know that actually this week
- 2:20Nora: is seven years of us meeting?
- 2:22Charles: Whoa.
- 2:22Charles: Yeah.
- 2:23Charles: (laughing)
- 2:24Charles: Dude.
- 2:25Nora: Yeah.
- 2:25Charles: Holy shit.
- 2:26Nora: Yeah.
- 2:28Charles: You were like a legitimate child.
- 2:30Nora: I was.
- 2:32Charles: (laughing)
- 2:32Charles: When,
- 2:32Charles: oh my God.
- 2:34Nora: Seven years ago.
- 2:35Charles: That's wild.
- 2:36Charles: That's a long time ago.
- 2:38Charles: That's wild.
- 2:38Nora: That's a long time ago.
- 2:40Charles: Yeah,
- 2:40Charles: Chris, how long have we known each other?
- 2:45Chris: Too long.
- 2:48Charles: Over 10 years now?
- 2:50Chris: Yeah, I think so.
- 2:51Charles: Mandy, how long have you and I known each other?
- 2:55Mandy: A year in November.
- 2:57Charles: Wow.
- 2:58Charles: He has it in her calendar.
- 3:00Charles: Wow.
- 3:01Charles: Well,
- 3:01Charles: hi everybody.
- 3:03Charles: Well, it is Wednesday evening.
- 3:05Charles: It is.
- 3:06Charles: October 7th, 2026.
- 3:08Charles: and you're watching Vibe Check,
- 3:10Charles: Loudspeaker's weekly comedy special.
- 3:14Charles: Just a special little guy,
- 3:16Charles: just the four special little guys
- 3:18Charles: hanging out and spending time together.
- 3:20Nora: It's true.
- 3:22Charles: But welcome.
- 3:23Charles: Like I said,
- 3:24Charles: I'm Charles, this is Nora,
- 3:25Charles: and on the ones and twos,
- 3:27Charles: we've got Chris and Mandy in the back of the studio.
- 3:30Mandy: Hi. - I'm one and twoing.
- 3:31Nora: I think it's actually Mandy and Chris
- 3:33Nora: on the ones and twos.
- 3:34Charles: Whoa!
- 3:35Charles: Yeah, and it's little Chris.
- 3:37Charles: It's little baby Chris.
- 3:39Charles: Oh, just oh my God,
- 3:40Charles: look how tiny he is.
- 3:42Charles: Oh no!
- 3:44Charles: Look at him.
- 3:44Charles: Oh no, he's getting smushed!
- 3:45Charles: Oh, you can smush his little whittle head.
- 3:48Charles: (laughing)
- 3:50Charles: I love little Chris so much.
- 3:53Charles: It just,
- 3:53Charles: it's so whimsical.
- 3:55Mandy: It never gets old.
- 3:56Nora: And Chris's cherry Coke just kicked in,
- 3:59Nora: so.
- 3:59Nora: Yeah, it did.
- 4:01Nora: (laughing)
- 4:03Charles: Chris got me a Doccy Peppy right before we went live
- 4:08Charles: because I am a sleepy little guy.
- 4:10Nora: If you couldn't tell from the intro.
- 4:12Nora: (laughing)
- 4:14Charles: Yeah,
- 4:15Charles: we were,
- 4:16Charles: do you guys wanna explain
- 4:18Charles: what I was doing right before we went live?
- 4:21Charles: Responding like 20 seconds to me.
- 4:23Charles: (laughing)
- 4:25Nora: So Charles was feeling kinda tired today
- 4:27Nora: and so we would mention something
- 4:29Nora: and we would just like kinda wait
- 4:31Nora: and Charles would like,
- 4:33Nora: we'd like wait a beat and a half,
- 4:35Nora: and then Charles would be like,
- 4:36Nora: yeah, that sounds good.
- 4:37Mandy: I think it was getting longer,
- 4:39Mandy: right?
- 4:40Mandy: It was, it started off just a beat and a half,
- 4:42Mandy: and then it's a beat and more than a half,
- 4:44Mandy: like a full three beats, maybe?
- 4:46Mandy: Yeah,
- 4:46Mandy: mm-hmm.
- 4:47Nora: Multiple beats, multiple beats.
- 4:49Mandy: But,
- 4:49Mandy: but,
- 4:50Mandy: but we're here,
- 4:51Mandy: and we're happy to be here,
- 4:53Mandy: and we're going to be excited to be here,
- 4:55Mandy: yes?
- 4:57Mandy: Uh-huh?
- 4:58Chris: Yeah!
- 4:59Charles: I'm excited to be here too.
- 5:00Chris: Oh, this is exciting.
- 5:02Chris: [LAUGHTER]
- 5:05Nora: Yeah, it's that.
- 5:07Charles: That one was for comedic effect.
- 5:10Charles: [LAUGHTER]
- 5:12Nora: It was on purpose,
- 5:13Nora: you guys.
- 5:13Nora: It was on purpose.
- 5:15Chris: I meant to do that.
- 5:17Charles: So how is everybody?
- 5:19Charles: How is everybody's week?
- 5:21Charles: What's going on?
- 5:22Charles: What's new?
- 5:23Charles: What's happening?
- 5:24Nora: I had a good weekend.
- 5:26Nora: My friends were talking about the oddities and curiosities fair last Thursday.
- 5:31Nora: It's a docu peppy.
- 5:33Nora: Diet docu peppy.
- 5:34Charles: Diet docu peppy.
- 5:35Nora: Yeah, that's John Green's favorite drink actually.
- 5:38Nora: Anyway,
- 5:39Nora: I went,
- 5:40Nora: my friends were like hyping up the oddities and curiosities fair and I
- 5:43Nora: was like, well, I could go to that.
- 5:45Nora: Why don't I go to that?
- 5:46Nora: And so I went.
- 5:47Nora: So I don't know,
- 5:49Nora: you want to show the album,
- 5:52Nora: Mandy?
- 5:54Nora: So the oddities and curiosities fair for those who don't know,
- 5:58Nora: it is for all the weird little
- 6:01Nora: guys and girls and theys and thems.
- 6:04Nora: And I saw some taxidermy, a lot of taxidermy,
- 6:08Nora: a lot of butterflies.
- 6:10Nora: The one on the right there,
- 6:13Nora: that was a mermaid with some horns.
- 6:15Nora: I like that.
- 6:16Charles: Oh, that's sick.
- 6:17Charles: Yikes.
- 6:18Nora: So lots of bugs.
- 6:20Nora: Look, there's beetles with eyeballs at the bottom there.
- 6:23Nora: I got some bugs and some teeth and some spices.
- 6:30Charles: Chris, can we please get that hyena for the studio?
- 6:33Chris: Sure,
- 6:34Chris: you get to decide where it's gonna go.
- 6:36Charles: It's gonna go right here.
- 6:39Charles: Okay,
- 6:39Charles: ready?
- 6:40Charles: So cut back to me.
- 6:42Charles: So we have the hyena seated here diagonally
- 6:46Charles: right over my shoulder,
- 6:48Charles: so it looks like it's laughing at our stupid jokes.
- 6:53Nora: (laughing)
- 6:55Charles: Right here.
- 6:56Charles: I want that face.
- 6:58Nora: Yeah.
- 6:58Nora: We would have to crawl out from under the table.
- 7:01Nora: Like we'd have to crawl under the table and then back,
- 7:03Nora: but it would be worth it.
- 7:04Charles: Yeah, and then we could have the second cam,
- 7:06Charles: instead of being a weirdly like awkward camera on me,
- 7:10Charles: we could put it on the hyena.
- 7:11Charles: So whenever we tell a joke that doesn't land,
- 7:13Charles: We just have the hyena.
- 7:14Charles: We cut the hyena.
- 7:16Nora: Yeah,
- 7:16Nora: I think that's a great idea.
- 7:18Charles: And we just sit with it for a minute.
- 7:21Nora: The one I forgot to take pictures of
- 7:22Nora: was one that was like weird taxidermy where like it was like a goat with a
- 7:26Nora: hand and it was named Callisto or something like that and that one felt a
- 7:30Nora: little weird about that and I have yet to open the mystery bags. I was gonna
- 7:34Nora: bring them so we could open them here but I forgot so I'll open them at home
- 7:38Nora: and be like oh that's cool.
- 7:41Nora: So the other thing that I saw that it was really
- 7:43Nora: funny,
- 7:44Nora: people dress up and wear all their black and stuff and this one girl had
- 7:48Nora: this shirt on that I misread because she had this beautiful pair of boobs that
- 7:52Nora: stretching out her shirt a little bit and so it was it the shirt says Satan's
- 7:59Nora: lover but it looked like it said Satan's liver and I was very confused because
- 8:05Nora: why would you have Satan's liver written on your shirt I actually found a picture
- 8:09Nora: of the shirt so you could see why it does come across as Satan's liver it's
- 8:15Nora: like embroidered and so if you that Oh see how thin that is if you stretch it
- 8:21Nora: out just a little bit over a lovely pair of boobs.
- 8:24Mandy: Yeah.
- 8:25Nora: It says liver.
- 8:26Mandy: Yeah, it is definitely liver.
- 8:27Chris: Not for nothing,
- 8:28Chris: Nora, but how did you not get a photo
- 8:30Chris: of the beautiful pair of boobs?
- 8:32Nora: I feel really uncomfortable asking
- 8:35Nora: to take pictures of people.
- 8:36Chris: That's fair.
- 8:37Charles: Valid.
- 8:38Charles: [LAUGHTER]
- 8:38Charles: Valid.
- 8:40Charles: Especially if you have to go, like, I really like your boobs.
- 8:43Charles: [LAUGHTER]
- 8:45Nora: At an oddities and curiosities fair,
- 8:46Nora: I think that would be the place that I could get away with it.
- 8:50Nora: You probably couldn't,
- 8:51Nora: Chris you probably couldn't.
- 8:52Nora: No,
- 8:52Nora: definitely not me. - I probably could.
- 8:53Nora: I could. - You could.
- 8:54Chris: Mandy could do it.
- 8:55Nora: I could probably get away with it, but I don't like to.
- 8:57Nora: I'm too autistic for that.
- 8:59Chris: I just see Mandy running up to someone and going,
- 9:01Chris: hey, I love your titties, can I take a picture?
- 9:04Nora: I could totally see that in the groin.
- 9:05Nora: I could do it.
- 9:06Nora: Oh my God,
- 9:07Nora: yeah, thank you.
- 9:08Mandy: And we'd be best friends forever.
- 9:11Nora: Yep, so yeah,
- 9:13Nora: Satan's liver,
- 9:14Nora: I thought that was hilarious.
- 9:16Nora: And then I also,
- 9:17Nora: not oddities and curiosities related,
- 9:19Nora: but Denver related, I got to go to Tokabe for the first time
- 9:22Nora: and it's been on my list of restaurants to try for so long.
- 9:25Nora: And it is a Native American Indian restaurant.
- 9:29Nora: And-
- 9:29Charles: Kava?
- 9:30Mandy: Tokabe.
- 9:31Mandy: (laughing)
- 9:32Nora: Wrong,
- 9:33Nora: but it's in the style-
- 9:34Charles: What is it called?
- 9:35Nora: It's Tokabe.
- 9:36Charles: Tokabe.
- 9:37Nora: Tokabe,
- 9:38Nora: yeah.
- 9:38Nora: And they support the Oneida Nation,
- 9:43Nora: I believe.
- 9:44Charles: My brain went,
- 9:44Charles: I went to,
- 9:45Charles: not Tokabe,
- 9:47Charles: but I went to-
- 9:48Charles: To Kava.
- 9:49Charles: To Kava.
- 9:50Charles: And I was like,
- 9:53Charles: we're talking about Kava right now?
- 9:54Charles: No, no, no, anyway, sorry.
- 9:55Nora: They have like bison and quinoa.
- 9:56Nora: It's like,
- 9:57Nora: I would say it's kind of like, you know,
- 9:59Nora: like Chipotle or Kava where they like
- 10:01Nora: make you a bowl in the line,
- 10:03Nora: but then it's like bison and all of the proceeds
- 10:07Nora: go back to support the Native Americans
- 10:10Nora: who are still here,
- 10:11Nora: very much so.
- 10:12Nora: And my food was delicious.
- 10:13Nora: I got an Indian taco.
- 10:14Nora: I wanna show a picture of it 'cause it was so good.
- 10:18Chris: Their Indian tacos are fantastic.
- 10:20Chris: We tried that probably a month or two ago,
- 10:24Chris: somewhere in there,
- 10:25Chris: and my God, it's so good.
- 10:26Nora: And there are tokabe,
- 10:28Nora: there is a tokabe in the NDIA.
- 10:32Nora: So you can get Indian food,
- 10:34Nora: not Asian Indian food,
- 10:37Nora: but American Indian food here in Denver,
- 10:41Nora: which I think is really, really cool.
- 10:43Nora: So,
- 10:44Nora: and I love an Indian taco.
- 10:45Nora: They are literally,
- 10:47Nora: fry bread is some of the best bread
- 10:48Nora: out there.
- 10:49Mandy: It is pretty magical.
- 10:50Nora: It is some of the most magical bread.
- 10:52Nora: And if you haven't had Indian fry bread,
- 10:55Nora: go find some because it's so good.
- 10:57Charles: Does anybody travel through DIA not at fuck ass times?
- 11:01Charles: (laughing)
- 11:02Nora: Like I don't plan to eat at DIA.
- 11:04Charles: Like I'm just saying like whenever I'm going
- 11:06Charles: through the airport,
- 11:08Charles: it's at like five o'clock
- 11:09Charles: in the morning and the only thing that's open
- 11:11Charles: is like McDonald's and that's it.
- 11:13Nora: Like you can't even go to the speakeasy.
- 11:15Chris: I will say,
- 11:16Chris: last time I was at the airport,
- 11:17Chris: I was there at like 4 a.m.
- 11:19Chris: and the Qdoba is open.
- 11:22Mandy: No,
- 11:22Mandy: really?
- 11:22Charles: Do they do like breakfast stuff?
- 11:24Chris: They do.
- 11:24Nora: I bet the bagel place is also open.
- 11:27Nora: I bet Einstein's is also open.
- 11:29Chris: Yeah, but the Einstein's in DIA sucks.
- 11:31Nora: It's true, the line is always so long.
- 11:33Chris: It sucks so bad.
- 11:34Nora: Takes forever,
- 11:35Nora: yeah,
- 11:36Nora: no, it's not good.
- 11:37Charles: I'm gonna try to get one flight
- 11:39Charles: where it's middle of the day
- 11:40Charles: so I can go to this restaurant.
- 11:43Charles: (laughing)
- 11:43Charles: I always travel at the weirdest times.
- 11:46Nora: I'm not there to be at the airport.
- 11:48Nora: I'm there to get somewhere else
- 11:49Mandy: I have a flight coming up at a normal time
- 11:52Mandy: But like who's going to eat adventurous food and then get on a flight not me.
- 11:57Charles: Oh my god
- 12:00Charles: Yeah for that honestly
- 12:03Charles: best choice possible
- 12:06Nora: Risking stomach issues. I had zero tummy issues after to come in just to put it out there
- 12:11Chris: Wait, Mandy, do you have an aisle seat?
- 12:14Mandy: We're not gonna talk about the horrors
- 12:17Mandy: that are coming my way with business travel.
- 12:20Chris: Right, right, but do you have an aisle seat
- 12:22Chris: is my only question.
- 12:23Mandy: On the way back, I do.
- 12:24Chris: Okay,
- 12:25Chris: so you can be a little bit more adventurous
- 12:27Chris: if you're sitting in the aisle.
- 12:30Chris: 'Cause you don't have to make anyone get up
- 12:31Chris: to go to the bathroom.
- 12:33Mandy: So I regularly ask the flight attendants
- 12:36Mandy: for a barf bag before we get started.
- 12:38Charles: Yeah. - Oh.
- 12:39Nora: Yeah.
- 12:40Charles: I have to let them know how weird I am
- 12:44Charles: on flights sometimes,
- 12:46Charles: 'cause especially when it comes to turbulence,
- 12:49Charles: I start almost getting crying,
- 12:52Charles: and I'm like, "I can't do this,
- 12:54Charles: so I'm sorry."
- 12:55Mandy: I have prescribed Klonopin to get me on a plane.
- 12:58Charles: I have unprescribed Klonopin for funsies.
- 13:02Charles: No, this is a joke.
- 13:03Nora: That he got from Mandy.
- 13:04Nora: (laughing)
- 13:05Charles: It's a joke,
- 13:06Charles: it's a joke, I don't have-
- 13:07Mandy: I'm not fast enough with that technical difficulty sign or this is a legal reason. This is a joke.
- 13:13Charles: I am in the
- 13:14Charles: furthest back seat
- 13:17Charles: Right next to the toilet the turlets. That means you can't recline
- 13:22Charles: That's fine. Who reclines?
- 13:24Chris: Most planes you can't recline anyway, you can't recline more than right like you're not a meter
- 13:29Chris: Here we go flying on frontier.
- 13:30Chris: You're lucky that you have a seat
- 13:32Charles: You recline you're going from here to here
- 13:37Charles: here
- 13:37Charles: To here.
- 13:39Mandy: You're reclining on a plane, I'm judging you.
- 13:41Mandy: You're a bad person.
- 13:43Charles: No.
- 13:43Charles: No.
- 13:44Charles: I think if you have like an actual,
- 13:47Charles: the ability to recline.
- 13:49Nora: Do it.
- 13:49Charles: Do it.
- 13:50Nora: Do it.
- 13:50Charles: Do it.
- 13:51Mandy: And I will judge you for it.
- 13:52Nora: It's the one centimeter of space that I would like.
- 13:56Chris: That's Charles's white privilege right there.
- 13:58Chris: Right, right.
- 13:59Chris: Talking about the reclining.
- 14:01Mandy: Yeah.
- 14:02Charles: I'm not just saying like for me,
- 14:03Charles: I'm saying for the person in front of me.
- 14:05Charles: I would never judge them.
- 14:07Nora: I wouldn't reclining regardless of race. I literally expect the person in front of me to recline
- 14:13Nora: There were the one thing that I don't tolerate is the person in front of me putting their bag under their own
- 14:18Nora: But because they're just trying to get foot room in front of them
- 14:22Nora: You don't get to use my bag and foot room for your bag.
- 14:26Charles: Yeah
- 14:27Charles: fucking guy exactly
- 14:30Charles: Get out of here with that.
- 14:31Charles: Well, take me to your seat the next time you do. Yeah fucking guy
- 14:35Charles: Should we start like bringing duct tape on planes or do they supply it for the weirdo?
- 14:40Nora: I think they should start carrying it.
- 14:42Nora: Like I would if I were a flight attendant, I would pack it
- 14:46Charles: Yeah,
- 14:47Charles: cuz like for me
- 14:48Nora: Cuz it seems like a good restraint method based on the recent flight data.
- 14:53Mandy: I think it must be in there like
- 15:00Charles: You were going to do something and then you
- 15:04Charles: That's the moment like you still have to go just do your thing
- 15:24Mandy: Like I genuinely did not like that it's and chills down your spine like it made me want to reach for a weapon
- 15:33Nora: Good thing that's in the other room.
- 15:35Chris: No, it's next to me.
- 15:36Mandy: No, it's in here.
- 15:37Nora: Oh, okay.
- 15:39Chris: Well,
- 15:39Chris: the one I know about is next to me.
- 15:41Chris: Yeah.
- 15:41Nora: That one is, there is one near me.
- 15:43Charles: So that's actually for when Chris misbehaves.
- 15:47Charles: Just a couple of warning shots.
- 15:49Chris: I mean,
- 15:50Chris: I did just increase our business insurance,
- 15:53Chris: but I don't know that the timing
- 15:55Chris: would work out in our favor.
- 15:56Mandy: Was that because of me?
- 15:58Mandy: No.
- 15:58Chris: Was that because of me?
- 16:00Chris: No,
- 16:01Chris: not at all.
- 16:03Chris: It's for another thing.
- 16:04Nora: So Mandy, how how was your week?
- 16:07Mandy: Good, so I
- 16:09Mandy: Have been doing this new thing
- 16:11Mandy: Where you do a sauna for 10 minutes and then you do a cold plunge for five minutes
- 16:16Mandy: And then you do a sauna and a cold plunge over and over again
- 16:19Mandy: with a friend
- 16:21Mandy: So you remember last year Nora how you went to a comedy show?
- 16:27Nora: And you got shushed yeah laughing too loud at the comedy show
- 16:34Mandy: I kind of know how that feels now.
- 16:39Mandy: So a friend and I have been going through this for like a week or a couple weeks,
- 16:42Mandy: right?
- 16:43Mandy: And we get this email saying,
- 16:45Mandy: we are now offering silent sessions.
- 16:48Chris: Oh my God.
- 16:51Charles: Oh my God.
- 16:53Nora: Well, they didn't have it in the rules to be quiet before.
- 16:55Mandy: So they say it's like a community space or like community.
- 16:59Mandy: Was a couple weeks after we joined that that that that email felt personal
- 17:06Charles: Now what kind of noises are you making?
- 17:12Charles: Yeah, we're just talking there's just shooting the shit yeah in the sauna
- 17:16Nora: Yeah, and the cold plunge yes on on the cold plunge
- 17:18Mandy: I I would argue you need to talk in the cold plunge to distract yourself from the words
- 17:26Nora: Five minutes of cold plunge is a long time to be in cold blood.
- 17:29Charles: Yeah,
- 17:30Charles: that's a lot
- 17:31Mandy: It's magical like when I get dying like my mental health
- 17:33Mandy: It's so much better and I can't like it's like doing 12 hours of yoga in the span of like one hour
- 17:40Charles: Maybe I do this
- 17:41Nora: I know like I I did do it once when I was down in New Mexico
- 17:45Nora: But then my glasses got stolen so I have some mixed feelings about like the okay the hot bath cold plunge hot bath cold
- 17:51Charles: But I don't think that's an issue with the hot
- 17:53Charles: (laughing)
- 17:55Mandy: No, that's sketchy.
- 17:56Mandy: So before we started,
- 17:58Mandy: I was actually talking about,
- 17:59Mandy: I would like to torture all of you,
- 18:02Mandy: my treat,
- 18:03Mandy: to go do this together in a private session
- 18:06Mandy: so I can try and get us on camera with this hell.
- 18:10Mandy: But that,
- 18:11Mandy: I would need consent from everybody
- 18:12Mandy: to be okay to be filmed in your swimsuits.
- 18:15Chris: I'm glad that you're putting everyone
- 18:17Chris: on the spot on live air.
- 18:19Chris: (laughing)
- 18:19Nora: I don't do naked online,
- 18:22Nora: sorry.
- 18:22Mandy: They wanted to try it.
- 18:23Nora: Yeah, they should try it. I don't have an only fun fans yet
- 18:26Nora: So I don't do naked online, but I'm cool down to do sounds good.
- 18:30Chris: We know Charles is down
- 18:31Chris: I've also show his naked body to anyone
- 18:43Mandy: This is how I get failed,
- 18:44Mandy: okay
- 18:47Nora: As long as we do a private session where they know we're gonna yeah
- 18:50Mandy: So if we really are interested I will work on calendars and see if we can get them to allow us to record ourselves
- 18:58Nora: Okay,
- 18:58Mandy: so I'll work on okay.
- 19:00Charles: So you're not comfortable being on camera.
- 19:01Nora: No, I could be on camera as long as I'm in my swimsuit
- 19:03Nora: Okay.
- 19:04Charles: Yeah, obviously
- 19:11Nora: Yeah, we're fine have to build up the only fans content before we started you know,
- 19:15Charles: like hear me out Chris
- 19:17Charles: Yes, hear me out hear me out. We all wear breathing suits,
- 19:21Charles: right? You still wear bathing suits. Yes, but
- 19:27Charles: We censor it all
- 19:30Charles: Look like we're naked
- 19:31Chris: The problem is when you do the censoring like the pixelation you can still tell that there's stuff. No, you put a black bar
- 19:37Chris: I'm like,
- 19:38Chris: yeah, I guess you could black bar black bar sensor or
- 19:41Charles: Here's what you do
- 19:43Chris: Unless you wear like nude colored.
- 19:47Charles: No
- 19:47Charles: in those shots is just paint over just like a little circle of like nude
- 19:52Charles: coloring like over that and then put it over and then that's and you don't you
- 19:57Charles: could just wear your normal thing it's just like one extra step that you would
- 20:02Charles: you would just track your swimsuit with that what you would be doing anyways
- 20:07Nora: I'll make sure under that layer where I mean wouldn't it just be easier to be
- 20:10Chris: naked in the first place and then pixelate it I think it would be
- 20:16Charles: Yeah, well, yeah.
- 20:18Nora: But like-
- 20:18Charles: But I don't want that footage on my computer.
- 20:20Nora: (laughing)
- 20:20Nora: Yeah,
- 20:21Nora: exactly.
- 20:22Nora: (laughing)
- 20:22Nora: At what cost?
- 20:23Mandy: I mean, the thing is-- - Charles.
- 20:24Mandy: Well, I do.
- 20:25Mandy: (laughing)
- 20:25Mandy: I do.
- 20:27Mandy: I want that footage.
- 20:28Nora: I don't want that footage on Mandy's computer.
- 20:29Nora: Mandy wants to meet Charles.
- 20:30Nora: (laughing)
- 20:31Charles: I'm sorry.
- 20:32Chris: Is that why you didn't bring the intern today?
- 20:34Mandy: I am still traumatized about Charles's nipple
- 20:37Mandy: in my eyeball the other show.
- 20:40Charles: Yeah.
- 20:41Nora: That does,
- 20:41Nora: yeah.
- 20:42Charles: I'm just gonna say-
- 20:43Chris: He does that to people.
- 20:46Charles: Shrinkage is a real issue.
- 20:48Charles: And I don't want any footage of my Audi turning into an Innie
- 20:59Charles: while on camera.
- 21:02Charles: That's my only thought.
- 21:04Nora: These are large and distracting,
- 21:05Nora: and it's just not always necessary.
- 21:07Chris: Well, Charles, you can bring a fluffer, and that way,
- 21:09Chris: you're adequately prepared.
- 21:11Nora: Oh, yeah.
- 21:11Charles: No,
- 21:12Charles: there will be no fluffers.
- 21:15Charles: (laughing)
- 21:16Nora: You could just wear,
- 21:18Nora: what?
- 21:18Charles: I like, you're like, yeah, a fluffer.
- 21:20Nora: No, you could wear one of those.
- 21:24Nora: (laughing)
- 21:25Charles: Hold on.
- 21:26Nora: I do know.
- 21:27Charles: Do you know what a fluffer is?
- 21:29Nora: Yeah.
- 21:29Charles: What is a fluffer?
- 21:30Nora: Something that keeps you ready.
- 21:33Mandy: Oh.
- 21:34Chris: I mean, that is-
- 21:34Chris: She's not wrong.
- 21:35Chris: You're not wrong.
- 21:36Chris: Yeah.
- 21:36Charles: You're not wrong, it's someone.
- 21:38Nora: Someone,
- 21:39Nora: yeah.
- 21:40Nora: a buddy to keep you going in between scenes.
- 21:43Mandy: A good pal, they're really good friends,
- 21:46Mandy: best friends.
- 21:46Chris: Yeah, just besties,
- 21:47Chris: a good bestie.
- 21:48Nora: Yeah. - Yeah.
- 21:49Nora: That's Chris, right?
- 21:50Charles: That's what besties do.
- 21:51Nora: That's Chris, right?
- 21:53Charles: Chris keeps me hard while we're at the sauna.
- 21:56Charles: (laughing)
- 21:56Charles: Is that what you're saying?
- 21:57Nora: It's like you guys are best friends, right?
- 21:59Chris: I knew at a certain point it would come to this.
- 22:01Mandy: Wait, how do I change this slide to say
- 22:03Mandy: for legal reasons,
- 22:04Mandy: this is not a joke.
- 22:06Mandy: (laughing)
- 22:09Charles: I am a lawyer,
- 22:10Charles: this is not a joke.
- 22:12Charles: (laughing)
- 22:14Chris: I love that the lawyer in the room is like,
- 22:17Chris: "How do we make this fucked up?"
- 22:19Chris: (laughing)
- 22:21Mandy: You're welcome.
- 22:22Charles: But yeah,
- 22:22Charles: I'm so down.
- 22:24Charles: Okay.
- 22:25Charles: Okay.
- 22:26Chris: Also, how great is it that our non-practicing lawyer
- 22:29Chris: is the one with the gun?
- 22:31Chris: (laughing)
- 22:34Charles: She knows the law,
- 22:36Charles: what can I say?
- 22:38Nora: She's from Texas,
- 22:39Nora: that's all I need to say.
- 22:42Charles: What's with the oars behind us?
- 22:46Charles: Like what are we,
- 22:47Charles: I know-
- 22:47Nora: Oh, we're going down the Congo today.
- 22:48Charles: We're going down the Congo?
- 22:49Mandy: So friends,
- 22:50Mandy: those are called paddles.
- 22:52Nora: Yeah,
- 22:52Nora: we're kayaking down the Congo Basin.
- 22:53Charles: They're called paddles.
- 22:55Charles: Yeah.
- 22:55Charles: Aren't they also oars?
- 22:57Mandy: Meh,
- 22:57Mandy: I think-- - You're an oar.
- 22:59Mandy: I think an oar is one.
- 23:01Mandy: We'll have to look it up, but I think that's the difference.
- 23:03Mandy: Kayaking down-- - They're kayak paddles.
- 23:05Nora: Yeah, we're kayaking down the Congo Basin,
- 23:06Nora: that's why we have 'em.
- 23:07Charles: Are we gonna actually do it?
- 23:09Charles: 'Cause like if we're sitting here,
- 23:10Charles: if we're both doing this here.
- 23:12Nora: I promised to be good with the battles,
- 23:14Nora: so no.
- 23:15Charles: Because it-
- 23:16Nora: But you didn't make any promises.
- 23:18Charles: I didn't make any promises.
- 23:20Charles: And I kinda wanna fight like it's like
- 23:22Charles: the Pon Far and Star Trek.
- 23:24Nora: Mandy?
- 23:24Charles: Which is a joke for one person.
- 23:27Mandy: Yeah,
- 23:27Mandy: so when I offered to bring these,
- 23:31Mandy: Nora made some promises.
- 23:33Nora: I did.
- 23:34Mandy: About not-
- 23:37Nora: I'll be good.
- 23:37Mandy: Not destroying the studio.
- 23:40Nora: But I literally said I can't make any promises for Charles.
- 23:44Charles: It's true.
- 23:45Charles: I saw him immediately thought,
- 23:47Charles: "Star Trek."
- 23:51Mandy: Immediately.
- 23:54Charles: Chris, how was your week?
- 23:55Charles: You didn't put anything in here,
- 23:56Charles: but I wanna know how your week was.
- 23:59Chris: You know,
- 23:59Chris: my week has been pretty good.
- 24:02Chris: I haven't had a lot of anecdotes lately
- 24:05Chris: because there's a lot of stuff I'm working on
- 24:07Chris: that I'm not allowed to talk about yet.
- 24:10Chris: But I will say,
- 24:13Chris: today I got some intriguing news.
- 24:16Chris: There is an outside possibility
- 24:20Chris: that I might get to go to a place
- 24:27Chris: that walks the skies,
- 24:29Chris: if you will.
- 24:33Charles: Oh,
- 24:34Charles: like,
- 24:35Charles: okay.
- 24:37Charles: Something that walks the sky, Skywalker Ranch.
- 24:40Charles: (laughing)
- 24:45Charles: Okay.
- 24:46Nora: He can neither confirm nor deny.
- 24:48Charles: Okay,
- 24:49Charles: something that walks the skies.
- 24:51Charles: Sounds like something that David Lynch would say.
- 24:55Charles: I'm going to a place that walks the skies.
- 24:59Charles: (laughing)
- 25:01Chris: Yes,
- 25:02Chris: exactly like that.
- 25:03Chris: So yeah,
- 25:04Chris: I've been working on some fun projects
- 25:06Chris: and that's one of them and hopefully I'll get to,
- 25:10Chris: hopefully it works out and if it works out,
- 25:12Chris: hopefully I'll get to talk about it really soon.
- 25:13Chris: But things have been good.
- 25:15Nora: I hope it works out.
- 25:16Nora: Oh,
- 25:17Nora: one thing I wanted to talk about before we moved on.
- 25:19Nora: This weekend at Fort Collins Nursery is the pumpkin way off,
- 25:24Nora: the giant pumpkin way off.
- 25:25Nora: And I will be there on Saturday if anybody wants to join me.
- 25:30Nora: I'll probably just take some pictures and things like that.
- 25:34Nora: But I did see a pumpkin that was almost
- 25:38Nora: twenty six hundred pounds in Ohio this year.
- 25:42Mandy: So that's a lot of numbers.
- 25:44Nora: It was a very, very large pumpkin.
- 25:47Nora: So if any of any of you have watched like the pumpkinista
- 25:51Nora: that we've talked about on our previous episodes,
- 25:54Nora: our local pumpkin way off is up and coming.
- 25:56Charles: Do you know what was last weekend?
- 25:57Charles: Did we all missed?
- 25:59Nora: I didn't miss it.
- 26:00Charles: No, Tour de Corgi?
- 26:01Nora: I did not miss it.
- 26:02Charles: You went?
- 26:04Nora: Not on purpose.
- 26:06Nora: I was underwhelmed by the parade element of it all.
- 26:08Chris: It seems like you have some sort of grudge against Tour de Corgi.
- 26:12Nora: There's just a lot of Corgi people there and Corgis are not my favorite dog breed.
- 26:18Nora: I like other dog breeds a little bit more and so when I'm surrounded by people who are,
- 26:24Nora: who really love Corgis as one of their favorite breeds,
- 26:27Nora: they think that I'm a bad person.
- 26:30Nora: Even though I prefer,
- 26:33Nora: if it was a pitbull parade,
- 26:35Nora: I'd be the happiest girl on earth.
- 26:37Nora: Or a boxer parade. I like a bigger dog.
- 26:39Nora: And corgis are not a bad small dog, don't get me wrong.
- 26:44Nora: But like, they're not my favorite,
- 26:46Nora: and so like, it's not the place for me.
- 26:49Nora: My dog also tries to fight small dogs, so like, it's hard to be around that.
- 26:54Charles: I am offended.
- 26:57Nora: Sorry.
- 26:58Charles: That you went to this,
- 26:59Charles: you didn't mention it,
- 27:01Charles: you, you,
- 27:02Charles: uh...
- 27:02Nora: It's kind of like a passing thing for me.
- 27:04Charles: You went... passing?
- 27:06Nora: Well...
- 27:06Charles: There's a bunch of cute dogs,
- 27:08Charles: and there's a lot of non-corgis at the Tour de Corgi.
- 27:12Mandy: Oh, sometimes they put golden retrievers in there and they pretend they're corgis.
- 27:16Charles: Yes!
- 27:17Nora: I don't think I was fully...
- 27:18Chris: Is that because they're too dumb to know that they're not corgis?
- 27:20Chris: Oh,
- 27:20Mandy: bless their heart.
- 27:21Nora: They're just happy to be there.
- 27:22Chris: Yeah.
- 27:26Charles: How?
- 27:27Nora: It's never been a thing for me.
- 27:29Nora: Tour de Corgi is just not my thing.
- 27:33Nora: Sorry.
- 27:34Chris: I think the only solution to this quagmire
- 27:39Chris: is to go around the net.
- 27:41Mandy: Ooh,
- 27:42Mandy: around the net?
- 27:44Charles: Yes.
- 27:45Charles: (dramatic music)
- 27:46Mandy: Oh,
- 27:46Mandy: disaster.
- 27:49Mandy: (laughing)
- 27:50Mandy: (laughing)
- 27:54Nora: Sorry,
- 27:55Nora: Mandy, I don't mean to laugh at you.
- 27:57Nora: (laughing)
- 27:58Mandy: Why, I need more practice.
- 28:00Nora: Okay.
- 28:02Chris: Flying without a net here, folks.
- 28:04Mandy: Look,
- 28:05Mandy: this is how we learn.
- 28:07Nora: Around the net.
- 28:09Nora: So,
- 28:10Nora: first of all,
- 28:11Nora: these are carryovers from last week.
- 28:12Nora: I have a tube update.
- 28:14Nora: Two tube updates.
- 28:15Nora: Okay,
- 28:16Charles: can I just say real quick first,
- 28:18Charles: that in an earlier copy of these show notes that I had seen,
- 28:21Charles: you said that there were no updates.
- 28:23Nora: I had to go look again.
- 28:24Nora: You had to go look again.
- 28:26Nora: Well,
- 28:26Nora: there weren't any updates on TikTok,
- 28:28Nora: and so then I was like,
- 28:29Nora: wait,
- 28:30Nora: I bet he updated on Instagram.
- 28:32Nora: And so then I went back and I looked at his Instagram
- 28:34Nora: and he did update on Instagram.
- 28:35Chris: Wait, so is there like two breaking news
- 28:37Chris: where like within the span of a couple hours,
- 28:39Chris: there wasn't an update?
- 28:40Charles: Tube news!
- 28:41Nora: Tube news!
- 28:41Charles: Tube news!
- 28:42Nora: Well, I just couldn't find it.
- 28:44Nora: (laughing)
- 28:45Nora: Okay, so first the show,
- 28:48Nora: they crowd surfed the tube.
- 28:53Video: Certainly I did not mean literally
- 28:55Video: that I found the biggest tube.
- 28:57Video: No, you didn't mean that.
- 28:58Video: But I found the tube,
- 29:00Video: the tube,
- 29:00Video: that has the most power and essence.
- 29:03Video: That's a damn powerful tube.
- 29:05Video: A tube that could unite the nation.
- 29:07Nora: Look at this tube of it.
- 29:08Video: I feel united.
- 29:09Video: In this time of discordance.
- 29:11Video: One hand in one hand.
- 29:13Mandy: What am I watching?
- 29:17Charles: You're watching tube surfing.
- 29:20Chris: The Tube Master.
- 29:22Nora: You're watching a tube...
- 29:27Nora: (laughs)
- 29:29Nora: A tube event.
- 29:33Chris: Are they crowd surfing the tube?
- 29:35Charles: Yes.
- 29:36Nora: Yes, they were crowd surfing the tube.
- 29:37Charles: It was more like passing it off like a weird baptism.
- 29:42Nora: It looks like a tube ritual,
- 29:45Nora: honestly.
- 29:47Nora: So we can pause this video because that's really what it is.
- 29:53Nora: But there are tube t-shirts.
- 29:55Nora: So here's the next one.
- 29:57Nora: Another Instagram video.
- 29:59Nora: If you really need a t-shirt to commemorate the tube,
- 30:02Nora: you could get a t-shirt.
- 30:07Charles: Oh, what is it?
- 30:08Charles: Oh,
- 30:08Charles: tube!
- 30:11Charles: Tube!
- 30:12Charles: Oh my goodness.
- 30:12Charles: Oh my God, I want one so bad.
- 30:15Nora: They are doing online orders,
- 30:17Nora: so we can get them.
- 30:19Charles: Holy shit.
- 30:20Nora: I just didn't have enough time to get them.
- 30:22Charles: That is...
- 30:23Nora: Isn't that sick?
- 30:24Chris: That is a sick shirt.
- 30:26Chris: I'm like a six out of 10 buying this,
- 30:28Chris: but I would be a nine out of 10 if it said T-H-U-B-E.
- 30:31Charles: I know.
- 30:31Charles: I know.
- 30:32Chris: That's a missed opportunity.
- 30:33Charles: Tobe.
- 30:33Nora: Tobe.
- 30:35Nora: (laughing)
- 30:36Nora: So you could get a Tobe T-shirt.
- 30:38Nora: This is like the whole process of his,
- 30:41Nora: him putting the screen printing on there,
- 30:43Nora: which is another really cool thing of screen printing.
- 30:45Chris: Screen printing's a lot of work.
- 30:47Mandy: It's awesome. - I know, but I wanna do it.
- 30:48Nora: It's so cool.
- 30:52Nora: We might have to get tube t-shirts.
- 30:55Charles: Two of 'em?
- 30:56Nora: Tube.
- 30:57Chris: Tube.
- 31:00Chris: Will they be delivered in a tube?
- 31:02Nora: Oh,
- 31:03Nora: good question. - If they aren't,
- 31:04Mandy: what a missed opportunity.
- 31:05Nora: Yeah,
- 31:06Chris: they have to be shipped in a tube.
- 31:07Nora: Yeah, good question.
- 31:09Nora: Okay, so next,
- 31:10Nora: we mentioned this one last week as well,
- 31:13Nora: the cheese chasing competition.
- 31:14Nora: This one's really for Chris.
- 31:17Mandy: Oh, I love this.
- 31:18Chris: For little Chris?
- 31:19Charles: For little Chris. - Yeah, for little Chris.
- 31:20Nora: And this is Ozzy Man Reviews,
- 31:22Nora: and this is like one thing that he reviews every year.
- 31:27Video: Hey legends,
- 31:28Video: it's that time of year again.
- 31:30Video: It's the cheese rolling festival.
- 31:32Video: Or with the amount of people
- 31:33Video: filming the event on their phones this year,
- 31:36Video: you might say it's a bloody Coldplay concert.
- 31:39Video: I'm not being a cynical wanker. It's great.
- 31:41Video: Oh my god
- 31:42Video: Look at him go and chase it down. What is basically a cliff?
- 31:46Video: Oh my god
- 31:47Video: I should stream credibility and it's yeah, look at her.
- 31:50Video: It's admirable. It requires
- 31:52Video: Oh my god...
- 32:21Video: in that story.
- 32:22Video: I mean, what is the point of R U OK?
- 32:27Video: Day if we're not more checking in
- 32:30Chris: these emotional moments of his life.
- 32:32Video: Okay,
- 32:33Video: he just vanishes behind the house.
- 32:37Video: This picture
- 32:38Video: speaks a thousand words. At least she's crying.
- 32:41Video: There's a solitary tear running down her cheek.
- 32:44Video: Meanwhile,
- 32:44Video: the human next to her is upside down,
- 32:47Video: lost,
- 32:47Video: confused,
- 32:48Video: and hurt.
- 32:50Video: Overall,
- 32:50Video: every year,
- 32:51Video: this tradition reminds me
- 32:53Video: that our species is never changing.
- 32:56Video: If we want to be reckless,
- 32:57Video: idiotic,
- 32:57Video: and wasteful with our well-being, that's our choice.
- 33:00Video: That is our right.
- 33:01Video: It's our God fucking fair dinkum given right,
- 33:05Video: at least for cheese.
- 33:06Video: (laughing)
- 33:11Nora: And that's the most recent one,
- 33:13Nora: so.
- 33:13Charles: I don't know what has changed in the last couple years.
- 33:17Charles: I think it's long COVID.
- 33:19Charles: (laughing)
- 33:22Charles: But I have gotten,
- 33:23Charles: like, I've gone from like wincing
- 33:25Charles: in pain over these kinds of things
- 33:28Charles: to laughing so hysterically at the misfortune of others.
- 33:33Mandy: I think it's 'cause you're dead inside
- 33:35Mandy: and this is probably the only thing
- 33:37Mandy: that makes you feel alive.
- 33:38Nora: Yeah. - But also like,
- 33:39Nora: if somebody chooses to put themselves in that situation,
- 33:42Nora: I'm gonna fucking laugh at them.
- 33:44Chris: I think rolling down that mountain
- 33:45Chris: would make them feel alive,
- 33:47Chris: holy shit.
- 33:47Nora: Right?
- 33:49Mandy: I think it'd make me feel pretty dead.
- 33:51Chris: Yeah, I was honestly,
- 33:52Chris: when we were watching that,
- 33:53Chris: I was thinking if Mandy did this,
- 33:55Chris: she would just shatter into a million pieces.
- 33:59Chris: And you would never be able to put her back together again.
- 34:02Nora: Yeah, it would be a Humpty Dumpty
- 34:03Nora: falling off the wall kind of deal.
- 34:05Chris: No, it would just be like a bag of bones rolling around.
- 34:09Chris: (laughing)
- 34:10Mandy: A very pretty bag of bones.
- 34:11Charles: That's just every day for me,
- 34:13Charles: just a bag of bones rolling around.
- 34:16Nora: Her head would pop off.
- 34:17Mandy: Just moving around in my meat sack.
- 34:18Nora: Yeah, your head pops off,
- 34:19Nora: like in the imaginary fight scene in Twilight.
- 34:21Chris: A meat sack full of bones and organs.
- 34:24Nora: Yep,
- 34:25Nora: so okay,
- 34:26Nora: I have some more.
- 34:27Charles: Don't talk about my meat sack.
- 34:29Chris: I mean, I'm gonna see it if we go to the sauna.
- 34:32Mandy: I think we're all gonna see it.
- 34:33Chris: Yeah, we're gonna see his chicken meat sack.
- 34:37Charles: You're gonna meet the sack.
- 34:39Charles: (laughing)
- 34:42Chris: I mean, I'm just trying to set proper expectations.
- 34:46Chris: That's what I do when I'm in the little Chris chair.
- 34:48Nora: Yeah,
- 34:49Nora: sets expectations.
- 34:50Chris: Yeah.
- 34:51Nora: Okay,
- 34:51Nora: I have a hiking cat.
- 34:53Nora: Charles, I think you're gonna like this one.
- 34:54Charles: Okay.
- 34:56Video: You're on trail with the epitome of feline ferocity,
- 34:59Video: Captain Yoru,
- 35:00Video: Kitsap County.
- 35:00Nora: I can't see the video.
- 35:02Video: We are just doing what we do.
- 35:05Video: And what we do is squirrel patrol.
- 35:07Video: Oh.
- 35:08Video: We do it right,
- 35:09Video: we do it big.
- 35:11Video: The captain is maxing and relaxing.
- 35:15Charles: The captain?
- 35:18Video: And getting his eyes on the prize.
- 35:21Video: Looking out for a squirreliness in all of its forms.
- 35:24Video: Oh,
- 35:25Video: he may have picked up the scent.
- 35:27Video: Roll the squirrel,
- 35:28Video: maybe near.
- 35:28Chris: Delightful.
- 35:30Video: He will keep both eyes on the prize.
- 35:34Nora: Look how happy that cat is.
- 35:36Video: And weed out the plague of squirreliness
- 35:37Video: one way or the other.
- 35:39Video: Right bud?
- 35:40Video: Hell yeah.
- 35:41Video: Patrol.
- 35:43Charles: I love that.
- 35:45Nora: So cute. I love it. Yeah.
- 35:47Nora: Very great hiking cat.
- 35:50Nora: Next, this one made me laugh so hard.
- 35:52Nora: This is somebody who doesn't normally go on roller coasters.
- 36:04Video: here we go okay now we're moving
- 36:10Video: moving a little too fast already for my taste
- 36:14Video: i don't see the track ahead of me i think it just started
- 36:19Video: (laughing)
- 36:34Chris: This has got to be more entertaining than all of the Fast and Furious movies put together.
- 36:38Chris: [laughter]
- 36:40Chris: [meow]
- 36:42Video: [laughter]
- 36:44Video: [meow]
- 36:47Video: [laughter]
- 36:48Video: [laughter]
- 36:50Chris: What was that?
- 36:51Nora: He passed out.
- 36:54Chris: Are you sure?
- 36:55Mandy: How nice is that though?
- 36:58Nora: He's coughing up from fear.
- 37:01Nora: [laughter]
- 37:02Chris: Pull yourself down the mountain,
- 37:03Chris: I think that would happen.
- 37:04Video: You are kidding me!
- 37:06Video: No!
- 37:07Video: (laughing)
- 37:11Video: Oh,
- 37:11Video: stop the ride!
- 37:13Mandy: I mean, it's no cat hiking,
- 37:15Mandy: but.
- 37:17Mandy: (laughing)
- 37:20Chris: Hey, imagine that cat on this roller coaster.
- 37:22Chris: No.
- 37:23Chris: Yes.
- 37:24Video: That's not cool.
- 37:26Video: (laughing)
- 37:28Charles: Okay.
- 37:28Video: These people are crazy.
- 37:29Nora: I love that.
- 37:30Nora: (laughing)
- 37:32Charles: Chris,
- 37:33Charles: you are not allowed to repeat this.
- 37:37Charles: But that man is obviously a bottom,
- 37:40Charles: right?
- 37:41Charles: (laughing)
- 37:44Charles: Right?
- 37:44Nora: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 37:45Charles: Yeah,
- 37:46Charles: we're on the same page there.
- 37:48Nora: You know the Skyline Chili promoter.
- 37:49Chris: If I were a Magic 8 ball,
- 37:51Chris: I would say signs point to yes.
- 37:53Charles: Right,
- 37:53Charles: right,
- 37:53Charles: right, right.
- 37:54Charles: I'm glad that we're all on the same page there.
- 37:55Mandy: Just the Skyline Chili guy and then this guy.
- 37:58Mandy: (laughing)
- 38:00Mandy: Or if we're being technical,
- 38:02Mandy: let's reverse that order.
- 38:03Chris: (laughing)
- 38:03Chris: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:04Charles: There's power bottom and then there's bottom.
- 38:07Charles: (laughing)
- 38:07Charles: You know, that's the two levels.
- 38:09Chris: Is there a level below bottom?
- 38:10Chris: 'Cause I think that's where he would be.
- 38:13Chris: Like sub-bottom.
- 38:15Charles: Sub-bottom, probably,
- 38:17Charles: actually you're right.
- 38:17Charles: Yeah, you're probably right.
- 38:18Charles: Actually.
- 38:18Charles: That sounds about right.
- 38:20Charles: (laughing)
- 38:23Nora: All right,
- 38:23Nora: next I have a little dog with a big stick.
- 38:26Mandy: Ugh,
- 38:27Mandy: yes,
- 38:27Mandy: always.
- 38:29Chris: His name is Charles.
- 38:32Chris: Is this the famous one?
- 38:35Chris: Is this the famous one?
- 38:37Nora: He goes around New York City with a big stick.
- 38:40Nora: Oh my gosh!
- 38:43Nora: Can I take a picture?
- 38:44Video: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:46Chris: Can I take a picture? No.
- 38:48Chris: Can I use Google?
- 38:49Chris: Yeah, you can.
- 38:52Chris: Is that the stick?
- 38:54Chris: Oh no, sometimes it's like this.
- 38:57Chris: Oh,
- 38:58Chris: that's adorable.
- 38:58Nora: People give more courtesy to this little guy
- 39:00Nora: with a big stick than like a human walking down the street.
- 39:04Mandy: Humans suck.
- 39:06Chris: I'm gonna try walking down the street
- 39:07Chris: with a stick in my mouth.
- 39:08Chris: Right.
- 39:09Chris: (laughing)
- 39:09Chris: Yeah, see you later.
- 39:10Mandy: I think that would only work if you were Little Chris.
- 39:13Nora: I mean I can do that.
- 39:14Nora: Somebody get the stick.
- 39:15Nora: Did you see that?
- 39:16Nora: Yeah.
- 39:17Chris: I can put a stick in my mouth
- 39:18Chris: and you can roll me around on this chair
- 39:19Chris: and I'll be Little Chris.
- 39:20Chris: Yeah.
- 39:21Chris: Yeah,
- 39:21Chris: I think that'd be good.
- 39:22Charles: I got a stick to put in your mouth.
- 39:26Chris: Technical difficulties, Mandy.
- 39:28Mandy: (laughing)
- 39:29Mandy: There we go.
- 39:31Mandy: (laughing)
- 39:34Nora: All right, I have a couple more.
- 39:35Mandy: Is it just staying up forever?
- 39:37Chris: Next.
- 39:39Nora: We did unfortunately miss the Taco Bell 50K.
- 39:42Mandy: No,
- 39:43Mandy: we were gonna go take science.
- 39:45Chris: How has this happened twice where we've missed it?
- 39:48Mandy: We are the worst Coloradans ever.
- 39:51Charles: We need a calendar.
- 39:52Nora: So we can go ahead and play.
- 39:55Nora: I do have an update from somebody who ran it.
- 39:57Nora: I don't even want to know now I'm mad.
- 39:58Nora: And did the Diablo challenge,
- 40:00Nora: which is very exciting.
- 40:01Nora: The Diablo challenge.
- 40:03Video: So today I'm running the Taco Bell 50k,
- 40:06Video: which is a 31 mile race from Denver that goes by 11 different Taco Bells.
- 40:11Video: You have to eat a menu item at 10.
- 40:14Chris: His shirt is glorious.
- 40:16Video: And you gotta do a Crunchwrap Supreme by stop 4.
- 40:19Video: And you gotta do a Burrito Supreme by stop 8.
- 40:24Nora: And just imagine...
- 40:25Video: The best part is you're not allowed to use any performance-enhancing drugs.
- 40:29Video: So no Tums,
- 40:30Video: no Pepto.
- 40:32Video: It's a clean race.
- 40:35Nora: The first guy who ran a marathon at 26.2 miles dropped dead.
- 40:40Nora: And now we're doing this.
- 40:42Chris: What a time to be alive.
- 40:43Nora: 31 miles of Taco Bell racing.
- 40:48Chris: That was just thinning the weak from the herd.
- 40:50Nora: Yeah.
- 40:51Mandy: What a time to be alive.
- 40:52Nora: Start with a beer too.
- 40:53Nora: That is a good way to do it.
- 40:54Nora: (people talking)
- 40:56Nora: My sister who's a runner does love a run beer.
- 41:05Nora: Look how many people were doing it.
- 41:10Mandy: I say without consent we sign Charles up for next year.
- 41:15Mandy: (laughing)
- 41:17Charles: I think we do it with consent.
- 41:19Charles: I have my thoughts on how to do it right.
- 41:21Nora: You did lose a bunch of weight,
- 41:23Nora: so you might be ready to run it.
- 41:25Chris: You are the one in the best position to do this,
- 41:27Chris: girls.
- 41:28Nora: Out of the four of us?
- 41:29Chris: Mandy will die.
- 41:29Chris: I have a broken leg and asthma.
- 41:31Mandy: I'll die.
- 41:32Nora: I mean, I'll eat all the Taco Bell,
- 41:33Nora: but I could walk it probably,
- 41:35Nora: but it would take me a couple days.
- 41:37Chris: You have 31 miles,
- 41:39Chris: fuck that.
- 41:39Nora: That's a long way.
- 41:41Nora: That's more than a marathon.
- 41:44Nora: That's a big race.
- 41:45Mandy: I just get bored so quickly.
- 41:48Chris: Mandy'd be out in like five minutes.
- 41:49Mandy: I know, I'd be like, "Oh my God, this isn't ending yet."
- 41:52Nora: And I went on a 30 minute walk with my dog and thought I was gonna give myself an asthma attack.
- 41:57Mandy: That's fair.
- 42:00Nora: He did it with the Diablo challenge.
- 42:02Charles: Diablo's nothing.
- 42:04Mandy: Yeah,
- 42:04Mandy: once again Charles, we support you, we want you to do this,
- 42:07Mandy: we would love to participate with you.
- 42:11Nora: I could give you beer on the sidelines,
- 42:13Nora: I'd be happy to do that.
- 42:14Charles: So like,
- 42:15Charles: here's my thought, I have thoughts on this.
- 42:17Charles: It's 11 hours,
- 42:18Charles: 30 miles.
- 42:20Chris: I mean, that guy did it in seven hours.
- 42:22Charles: Right. - Ooh, challenge.
- 42:24Charles: That is a three mile an hour pace.
- 42:28Nora: Which is not bad.
- 42:28Charles: Which is not bad.
- 42:30Nora: But you have to be pacing.
- 42:33Charles: Right,
- 42:34Charles: which I can,
- 42:35Charles: that's just walking speed.
- 42:37Nora: It is.
- 42:37Charles: Right.
- 42:40Charles: That is doable.
- 42:42Charles: I think that's doable,
- 42:43Charles: especially in the 11 hours.
- 42:44Charles: Now,
- 42:45Charles: when it comes to the Taco Bell,
- 42:47Charles: I would want to order ahead because if I'm cutting it that close...
- 42:53Nora: You don't have time to stand in line and wait.
- 42:55Mandy: Okay,
- 42:56Mandy: look,
- 42:57Mandy: I will sacrifice so much to help you achieve your dreams.
- 43:01Mandy: I will pre-order for you and have it waiting for you.
- 43:03Charles: Oh my gosh.
- 43:04Mandy: Because I'm amazing like that.
- 43:06Mandy: Amazing.
- 43:07Nora: Yeah.
- 43:08Charles: I could,
- 43:08Charles: like,
- 43:09Charles: it doesn't seem...
- 43:11Video: She's like, "Yep."
- 43:13Nora: Or,
- 43:14Nora: I mean, you will have support staff,
- 43:16Nora: so maybe we could just go ahead and order the things for you
- 43:19Nora: and have it ready for you out front.
- 43:21Nora: Yeah, that's what I was saying.
- 43:23Mandy: 'Cause we're amazing people down inside.
- 43:25Nora: Just drive to the next location.
- 43:26Nora: Yeah, and bring it out to the store
- 43:28Nora: and then hand it to you outside.
- 43:30Nora: And I could just go.
- 43:31Mandy: Yeah.
- 43:32Mandy: And there's enough of us that we can all do that.
- 43:35Nora: Right, 'cause there's, I mean, between-
- 43:36Chris: Yeah, we'll all be stationed at different Taco Bells.
- 43:38Nora: Each of us would have two stores
- 43:40Nora: that we would help you out with.
- 43:41Mandy: I volunteer the intern.
- 43:43Nora: See,
- 43:44Nora: now we have enough people.
- 43:45Charles: You can do rotations.
- 43:46Nora: Yeah, we just rotate or we go, you know,
- 43:48Nora: I'll do these two and then you do the next two
- 43:51Nora: or we,
- 43:51Nora: you know, figure it out.
- 43:52Nora: We can plan ahead.
- 43:53Nora: We can strategize this if you really wanna do it.
- 43:56Chris: We'll strap like two GoPros to you
- 43:58Chris: so that your entire run is captured.
- 44:00Nora: Oh, you need GoPros.
- 44:01Nora: You will need GoPros.
- 44:02Charles: I would need one 360 cam that is placed right here
- 44:07Charles: so that you get the great angle of my face just.
- 44:10Nora: Like Francis in the train.
- 44:11Charles: Yeah, yes.
- 44:12Charles: Yes, you know exactly what I'm saying.
- 44:15Charles: Yes.
- 44:17Nora: Like Francis in the trains.
- 44:18Nora: I know exactly what you're saying.
- 44:21Charles: Have you seen this guy,
- 44:22Charles: Chris?
- 44:23Chris: We saw the train guy.
- 44:25Chris: Yeah,
- 44:25Chris: we watched it on the show.
- 44:26Nora: Sometimes he'll have the 360 cam just right under his chin.
- 44:29Nora: So it's just his face smiling and crying at trains.
- 44:33Charles: He's hosting the new-
- 44:36Chris: The Grammys?
- 44:37Charles: The Top Gear.
- 44:38Charles: They did a reboot of Top Gear,
- 44:40Charles: and he's one of the hosts.
- 44:42Nora: That makes sense.
- 44:43Nora: And his girlfriend-
- 44:43Chris: Was everyone else in the world busy?
- 44:46Nora: From what I can see, his girlfriend's pretty hot.
- 44:49Nora: Like, he can get it.
- 44:51Nora: So like-
- 44:52Charles: Train-offism is a thing, man.
- 44:53Charles: Exactly.
- 44:53Charles: You got that-
- 44:55Charles: The train-tism?
- 44:56Charles: The ah-rism.
- 44:57Nora: Ah-rism.
- 44:59Nora: OK, I have one more, and I need some opinions on this
- 45:02Nora: to know if this is fetish content or not.
- 45:05Nora: Because I don't know.
- 45:06Charles: The answer is yes.
- 45:07Charles: Before even seeing it.
- 45:09Video: Hajime!
- 45:10Video: All right, this match is underway.
- 45:12Video: Immediately,
- 45:12Video: Gherki blocks the seat belt escape of Chambers.
- 45:14Video: Harjitsu?
- 45:15Video: Uh-huh.
- 45:15Video: Chambers looks to be out now.
- 45:16Video: He's reversed his position. - That's gay.
- 45:18Video: And now we have a dogfight.
- 45:20Nora: Gherki's looking for a front choke here.
- 45:22Chris: I mean, it sure looks pretty gay.
- 45:25Chris: (laughs)
- 45:25Nora: Like the next scene cuts to the winner on top.
- 45:29Chris: Was this part of a pride celebration,
- 45:31Chris: or what?
- 45:32Video: Are they wearing shoes?
- 45:34Video: Nope.
- 45:34Charles: Is that funny?
- 45:35Charles: They're bare feet.
- 45:36Charles: That's a point towards fat content.
- 45:40Chris: The dude's name is Gherki.
- 45:41Chris: Come on.
- 45:42Video: James with some really good chest pressure here.
- 45:44Video: And now Gherki and Chambers are outside of the passenger window.
- 45:49Video: This is very dangerous.
- 45:50Video: Y'all, did we just stumble upon another pseudo sport?
- 45:53Video: No,
- 45:53Mandy: I'm not.
- 45:54Mandy: I'm not choosing a team for this one.
- 45:55Video: I don't think that this is a sport.
- 45:57Nora: I think it's-
- 45:58Video: No need to keep that.
- 45:59Video: He's going to discard that.
- 46:00Chris: I'm team guy in the window.
- 46:03Charles: What station is this on?
- 46:05Charles: What the fuck is PLN?
- 46:07Video: (laughing)
- 46:07Chris: Fucking ESPN 19.
- 46:11Nora: What? - I don't know.
- 46:12Chris: We have to look more into this.
- 46:14Charles: PLN Station.
- 46:17Charles: No, PLN-
- 46:18Charles: Karjitsu. - TV Station.
- 46:20Chris: Karjitsu. - I was gonna end up
- 46:21Chris: on a watch list.
- 46:22Mandy: Yep,
- 46:23Mandy: yep.
- 46:23Charles: Pro League Network.
- 46:25Chris: That's not a thing.
- 46:26Charles: It's a live broadcast,
- 46:30Charles: just premiering in LA.
- 46:32Nora: Family Friendly Program?
- 46:34Nora: No, that's AI. - No, that's the positive.
- 46:36Charles: I think it's this one.
- 46:37Charles: It's the Pro League Network.
- 46:39Nora: Yeah, I think so.
- 46:41Nora: They just broadcast sports.
- 46:45Charles: And it's an LA thing, I guess?
- 46:49Nora: Yeah, I don't know what it is,
- 46:50Nora: but it feels like the next scene.
- 46:57Nora: I don't know.
- 46:59Nora: (laughing)
- 47:01Charles: I'm just saying,
- 47:02Charles: Nora, this could be us right now.
- 47:04Nora: Yes,
- 47:05Nora: but I made a promise.
- 47:05Nora: But they have like Hershey's Kisses on the end.
- 47:10Chris: Wait a second,
- 47:11Chris: what's with the purple dude in the corner?
- 47:14Nora: Oh, he's going through a manic episode.
- 47:15Nora: It's a cuck chair.
- 47:16Nora: We just wish the best for him.
- 47:19Chris: Okay.
- 47:20Nora: We just wish the best for him,
- 47:21Nora: probably.
- 47:22Charles: So Spock right now is in the middle
- 47:27Charles: of what's called Pon Far,
- 47:28Charles: which is-
- 47:30Mandy: Where's Laura?
- 47:31Mandy: She would be with me on I'm too pretty for this
- 47:34Charles: Pon far is when vulcans get a curse super horny like every seven years
- 47:40Charles: They get one week where they get hella horny and they have to fuck hard,
- 47:45Charles: right?
- 47:46Charles: They have to fuck they have to fuck so hard that they they they get all of their emotions out of their body
- 47:53Charles: So they're not evil,
- 47:54Charles: right?
- 47:54Charles: And uh, we've all been there
- 47:57Charles: That's what Ponfar is.
- 47:59Charles: This fight right here is what's called Caliphy.
- 48:02Charles: Right, if I'm not mistaken,
- 48:03Charles: it's called Caliphy.
- 48:04Chris: I think Mandy's died.
- 48:08Charles: No pro yeah, I'm glad that I can tell you the lore of Star Trek Ponfar.
- 48:17Nora: That,
- 48:17Nora: yeah, no, uh,
- 48:19Nora: the purple guy, he, we just wish the best for him. Oh my
- 48:22Charles: god, that's the, oh, I didn't even see.
- 48:25Charles: It's David Henshaw.
- 48:26Nora: He's going through a manic episode right now. He's not well
- 48:30Charles: He just does this should we watch it real quick? He's but also he's not well
- 48:35Charles: He is not well like
- 48:39Charles: He's just not well he does like joker makeup sometimes
- 48:45Chris: Like his his shit is did he run out of every color but purple?
- 48:48Nora: Uh, he's probably done the other one. Uh
- 48:50Charles: 1.5 million views on this video.
- 48:55Nora: Yeah
- 48:56Nora: Yeah,
- 48:57Nora: he's going through some stuff.
- 48:59Chris: Oh God, that's horrifying.
- 49:03Nora: There's one while he's pink.
- 49:04Chris: Was he going for Joker,
- 49:06Chris: but instead he got John Wayne Gacy?
- 49:08Chris: What the hell?
- 49:08Nora: I don't think he had a goal.
- 49:13Charles: This is a 40 minute long video of him
- 49:16Charles: as the Joker giving a relationship advice.
- 49:19Nora: And it has 132,000 views.
- 49:21Chris: What are we even doing guys?
- 49:22Mandy: Why are we even,
- 49:24Mandy: no.
- 49:24Charles: We could do this.
- 49:26Chris: Do we need to paint ourselves up like a psychotic clown?
- 49:29Nora: Actually we could broadcast while each of us are color.
- 49:35Chris: We should do, we should all do Juggalo paint.
- 49:37Chris: One of us is painted blue,
- 49:37Nora: one of us is painted green,
- 49:38Nora: one of us is painted purple, one of us is painted black.
- 49:41Mandy: I love that we're having our own conversation.
- 49:44Charles: This is terrible to watch for everybody at home.
- 49:48Charles: Everybody.
- 49:49Charles: But to go to their conversation,
- 49:52Charles: I have Juggalo makeup sitting on my counter right now
- 49:54Charles: that I've been waiting to put on
- 49:56Charles: since we were gonna do the Juggalo taste test.
- 49:58Mandy: I mean,
- 49:59Mandy: sounds like Halloween.
- 50:01Charles: Whoop whoop, should we do it for Halloween?
- 50:03Mandy: No, but is there culture not a costume?
- 50:07Nora: I saw a Juggalo at the Oddities and Curiosities Festival.
- 50:11Nora: It was the first time seeing a Juggalo in person.
- 50:14Nora: It was cool.
- 50:16Charles: Hell yeah.
- 50:16Chris: That's the first time you've seen a Juggalo in person?
- 50:18Nora: I don't get out a lot.
- 50:20Chris: Fair.
- 50:22Nora: That was all my content for today.
- 50:23Chris: What's our next video?
- 50:25Chris: (laughing)
- 50:27Mandy: So I watched last week's show even though I wasn't here.
- 50:30Mandy: And I saw how-
- 50:32Chris: Like a good producer does.
- 50:33Mandy: Like I do,
- 50:34Mandy: yeah.
- 50:34Mandy: And I saw the video on the person who had a friend
- 50:37Mandy: who just collects the videos.
- 50:38Mandy: And he's like, "Why aren't you watching?"
- 50:40Mandy: That's me.
- 50:41Mandy: So my friend sent me these over two years ago.
- 50:45Chris: Oh, nice.
- 50:46Mandy: So they are giving us the content.
- 50:48Charles: Nice.
- 50:48Mandy: Okay.
- 50:53Mandy: Here's how to instantly fix lower back pain.
- 50:55Mandy: (laughing)
- 50:59Nora: Insert the hook in the back loop of the next stitch.
- 51:03Nora: Soil is the most important element of gardening.
- 51:08Nora: (laughing)
- 51:11Nora: This really is adult,
- 51:12Nora: and also like cleaning,
- 51:14Nora: satisfying cleaning videos.
- 51:16Charles: Oh my God, the power wash videos.
- 51:18Nora: Oh God,
- 51:20Nora: SB mowing.
- 51:21Charles: Yes.
- 51:21Nora: Every day.
- 51:22Mandy: Oh, I like that one too.
- 51:25Mandy: Okay, we're gonna keep going.
- 51:27Mandy: More things my friends have sent to me
- 51:29Mandy: two years ago that I never watched.
- 51:31Chris: What's the name of a new segment?
- 51:33Chris: (eerie music)
- 51:37Chris: (laughing)
- 51:41Nora: Oh my God, that's so icky.
- 51:45Mandy: This one was sent to me,
- 51:48Mandy: the next two by a friend,
- 51:50Mandy: and I think his captions help.
- 51:52Mandy: he said we should be learning how to do this as our zombie apocalypse training.
- 51:59Video: Oh my god!
- 52:00Nora: Oh yeah!
- 52:02Charles: Are they actually running?
- 52:04Charles: Oh my god!
- 52:05Nora: Oh my god!
- 52:06Nora: Oh my god!
- 52:09Nora: Chainsaw blades!
- 52:11Chris: The real chainsaw man.
- 52:13Nora: Crazy!
- 52:15Nora: That's crazy work!
- 52:18Nora: He's a good skier.
- 52:19Mandy: So this, I love this because these are tailored to my interests.
- 52:22Mandy: by people who know and love me.
- 52:24Nora: That is, that guy's a good speaker.
- 52:25Charles: That is beyond an OSHA violation.
- 52:28Charles: That's like.
- 52:29Mandy: I am an OSHA violation.
- 52:31Nora: Walking, talking OSHA violation.
- 52:34Mandy: Okay, last one for me.
- 52:36Mandy: Once again, tailored to me and my interests.
- 52:41Mandy: EpiPen launcher.
- 52:42Charles: And it's a bold production.
- 52:43Charles: Yes, I've seen this one.
- 52:44Charles: It's made of PVC pipes, 3D printed parts,
- 52:47Charles: and is connected to compressed air on my back.
- 52:49Charles: So if someone's having an allergic reaction
- 52:51Charles: from far away.
- 52:52Charles: I have about four shots to heal them.
- 52:56Chris: Speaking of apocalypse training.
- 52:59Video: Be sure to check out my YouTube video because I'm going to launch this real one next.
- 53:02Video: Wait, that's mine.
- 53:04Nora: That's mine.
- 53:07Nora: I liked it.
- 53:08Nora: That was a good scroll through.
- 53:10Chris: That was incredible.
- 53:12Mandy: Thank you. Thank you.
- 53:12Charles: I've got videos too.
- 53:14Charles: I brought some this week.
- 53:15Charles: So the first two are Twilight themed.
- 53:19Charles: So this first one is an impression doing a script from the Twilight book.
- 53:27Video: I'm being asked by my girlfriend to read this passage from Twilight.
- 53:32Video: Oh god, hold on.
- 53:35Video: About three things I was absolutely positive.
- 53:38Video: First,
- 53:40Video: Edward was a vampire.
- 53:44Video: Second,
- 53:44Video: I was a part of him and I didn't know how to dominate that part.
- 53:49Video: How dom-- wait, no.
- 53:51Video: How dom-- how dom-- how dominant that boy-
- 53:54Video: ooh, he's dominant.
- 53:56Video: That thirsted for blood.
- 53:58Video: And third,
- 53:59Video: I was unconditionally and irrevocably
- 54:03Video: in love with him.
- 54:09Charles: This next one is a themed-
- 54:12Charles: Twilight-themed yard.
- 54:17Charles: (laughing)
- 54:28Nora: It's not a baseball game, what are you talking about?
- 54:32Nora: Moving Vampires.
- 54:35Charles: Okay,
- 54:36Charles: I have found my new favorite weird little guy.
- 54:40Nora: I almost sent him to you this week.
- 54:42Charles: Do you know who I'm talking about?
- 54:45Nora: He's cool.
- 54:46Chris: Do you two share an algorithm?
- 54:48Nora: Sometimes.
- 54:48Charles: Yeah, I think because we send each other-
- 54:50Nora: We have a good overlap.
- 54:51Charles: We have a way, we send each other videos
- 54:54Charles: that we're not gonna bring to the show.
- 54:56Nora: It's true.
- 54:57Nora: Vanessa made me do it.
- 54:58Charles: Yeah,
- 54:59Charles: so this one, this kid loves toilets.
- 55:03Nora: Like autism special interest love.
- 55:05Mandy: Okay.
- 55:08Video: This is my 1985 Kohler Wallorf
- 55:11Video: and I'm gonna be flushing this washcloth down it
- 55:15Video: Man,
- 55:16Video: I love this toilet.
- 55:25Chris: Why is it hooked up?
- 55:26Nora: I'm surprised it's not like a-
- 55:28Chris: He's outside.
- 55:30Nora: Doesn't look like a super strong flush,
- 55:31Nora: you know?
- 55:32Nora: Feel like there wouldn't be a lot of spray back coming out.
- 55:34Charles: He loves the toilet.
- 55:36Charles: Stop giving it such a hard time.
- 55:37Nora: No, I'm saying this is a good toilet.
- 55:40Video: Washcloth came down.
- 55:42Video: (laughing)
- 55:43Mandy: Ew,
- 55:44Mandy: no, don't touch it.
- 55:47Video: I like everything about it,
- 55:48Video: dude.
- 55:49Video: (laughing)
- 55:50Nora: I like everything about it, dude.
- 55:52Chris: Now watch me take a shit in it.
- 55:55Charles: All right,
- 55:55Charles: it was one more of his videos.
- 55:57Charles: I have been watching all of his content this week.
- 56:00Charles: I can tell you a lot about this child
- 56:03Charles: and his love of toilets.
- 56:04Charles: He has like 20 toilets.
- 56:06Nora: Special interest level.
- 56:06Mandy: I thought we didn't like children,
- 56:08Mandy: Charles.
- 56:09Charles: This is of the age that is fine.
- 56:12Chris: He's actually Benjamin Button,
- 56:14Chris: he's 39 years old.
- 56:15Nora: And the other thing is,
- 56:17Nora: I don't know,
- 56:17Nora: it's an adult interest,
- 56:19Nora: you know,
- 56:19Nora: what kid is interested in toilets?
- 56:21Chris: Well also,
- 56:22Chris: how does a kid afford a number of toilets?
- 56:26Nora: He was dog sitting,
- 56:28Nora: he saved up his money.
- 56:29Charles: Yeah.
- 56:31Charles: Probably goes to some random lot and finds them on sale.
- 56:37Nora: And I bet you his dad-
- 56:38Charles: And actually that's the case,
- 56:39Charles: because he actually goes to like estate sales to buy shit.
- 56:43Nora: And I bet you his dad's a plumber.
- 56:45Nora: (laughing)
- 56:46Mandy: All right,
- 56:47Mandy: here we go.
- 56:48Video: Here is my 2004 American Standard toilet.
- 56:52Video: Logo,
- 56:53Video: logo.
- 56:54Video: (laughing)
- 56:56Charles: Gotta get the logo,
- 56:57Charles: gotta get the logo.
- 56:58Charles: (laughing)
- 57:00Video: It has a very junky fill valve in it.
- 57:04Nora: Oh no, a junky fill valve?
- 57:06Video: Nothing's on the lid, but it says right here 2004.
- 57:10Video: So this is a junk ass hobo.
- 57:14Video: (laughter)
- 57:14Video: I bought me a replacement seal,
- 57:17Video: so it's fine.
- 57:19Nora: It's just junkies.
- 57:21Video: Let's give it a flush.
- 57:23Video: Flush.
- 57:25Video: (laughter)
- 57:28Chris: Did they base Skibbity Toilet on this kid?
- 57:33Chris: Is that a true story?
- 57:35Nora: I think it's just goob from Meet the Einstein.
- 57:38Mandy: Very nice toilet though.
- 57:43Charles: I love his content.
- 57:45Nora: That's autism.
- 57:46Charles: That's autism in a nutshell.
- 57:48Charles: Yep.
- 57:48Charles: And that's an autism special interest.
- 57:51Charles: And I wish I could love toilets as much as that kid.
- 57:55Nora: And good on him for, or good on his parents for like going to estate sales and buying toilets for him.
- 58:01Charles: Yeah.
- 58:02Nora: Good on his parents.
- 58:04Nora: We love that kid.
- 58:04Chris: I mean, where are you going to store all those toilets though?
- 58:07Chris: That seems like a logistical nightmare if you got land
- 58:13Nora: Yeah
- 58:15Charles: Seems like they have a little bit of land out there. I don't even own one toilet
- 58:19Chris: I mean,
- 58:20Nora: what am I doing? You need to you need to pump up those numbers,
- 58:23Chris: man. Yeah, those are rookie numbers
- 58:24Charles: Do you guys know what reborn dolls are?
- 58:26Mandy: Oh my god. Yes
- 58:28Charles: Are you familiar with reborn? Oh
- 58:31Charles: My god, so this guy's advice you don't need another one
- 58:35Nora: Really?
- 58:36Nora: I want one.
- 58:37Nora: You don't need another Reborn doll.
- 58:41Video: Just by changing the outfit alone,
- 58:44Video: you can completely fall in love with your Reborn all over again.
- 58:48Video: There's something about a different fabric feel too.
- 58:50Video: Like, all of you know that I'm visually impaired, legally blind,
- 58:53Video: and the fabric even,
- 58:55Video: the texture change,
- 58:57Video: helps me.
- 58:57Video: It's like a new way to cuddle with them, right?
- 58:59Video: Make time for them.
- 59:01Video: You know?
- 59:02Video: roleplay.
- 59:02Video: Try different scenarios.
- 59:04Video: Maybe it's a morning routine you like to do with them.
- 59:07Video: Maybe it's, "Hey, I haven't taken this doll out in a really long time,
- 59:10Video: you know,
- 59:10Video: on an
- 59:11Video: outing and maybe I want to try it." Go for it.
- 59:15Video: You know, take the doll out.
- 59:17Video: I think that's
- 59:17Video: a great idea. Just take photos,
- 59:19Video: do a little photo shoot,
- 59:20Video: try them with different things
- 59:21Video: and different poses.
- 59:23Video: Those are all ways to appreciate the dolls that you already have.
- 59:27Video: For more Reborn doll conversations,
- 59:29Video: follow us and subscribe to Stronghand's Reborn Dad.
- 59:32Video: We'd love to have you with us.
- 59:34Video: Oh,
- 59:35Nora: I mean, those aren't even good Reborns.
- 59:39Mandy: I mean,
- 59:40Mandy: I'm glad it's a doll.
- 59:43Nora: Google a Reborn real quick.
- 59:44Nora: You got it.
- 59:45Nora: The ones that you can even find at Walmart.
- 59:47Nora: Those are better than this one.
- 59:49Nora: Real Reborns look like actual children.
- 59:53Nora: Chris,
- 59:54Nora: look at this.
- 59:56Nora: Look at these.
- 59:56Charles: Cut to my computer.
- 59:58Nora: Look at,
- 59:58Nora: look at these.
- 59:59Charles: Look at these.
- 1:00:01Nora: Look at them.
- 1:00:03Nora: Okay,
- 1:00:04Nora: so it starts with the real babies, right?
- 1:00:06Nora: And then you get to the green skin one.
- 1:00:08Nora: You can get an avatar baby,
- 1:00:10Nora: one of the Pandora babies.
- 1:00:11Nora: You could get them slightly older with their eyes open.
- 1:00:15Nora: People will, the first time that I had experience with reborn dolls was at the Colorado State
- 1:00:20Nora: Fair.
- 1:00:20Nora: And I thought that there was a baby in a display case.
- 1:00:23Nora: And I was like,
- 1:00:24Nora: what the fuck is going on?
- 1:00:26Nora: People will spend hours-
- 1:00:28Chris: Check out baby girl Dobby there.
- 1:00:30Nora: Tens of,
- 1:00:32Nora: like hundreds of hours,
- 1:00:34Nora: detailing,
- 1:00:35Nora: painting-
- 1:00:35Charles: Okay, we're gonna cut away from this.
- 1:00:37Nora: Putting their hair in their stupid little heads.
- 1:00:40Nora: They're terrified.
- 1:00:41Chris: This is one of the most disturbing things
- 1:00:43Chris: I've ever seen in my entire life.
- 1:00:44Nora: They really freak me out.
- 1:00:46Nora: And Strong Hands Reborn, Dad?
- 1:00:49Nora: I'm glad they're just dolls.
- 1:00:51Mandy: So there's a there's a movie like a TV show series.
- 1:00:54Mandy: Um,
- 1:00:55Mandy: that's kind of a
- 1:00:56Mandy: follows a reborn doll
- 1:00:59Mandy: It's by the same person who did the I see dead people.
- 1:01:02Nora: Mm-hmm. I'm no show on.
- 1:01:03Mandy: Yeah.
- 1:01:04Mandy: Yeah, it's interesting.
- 1:01:06Mandy: Mm-hmm
- 1:01:07Nora: Interesting.
- 1:01:08Mandy: Okay, it's worth a watch for the first season after that. Maybe not
- 1:01:12Charles: All right. I've got three more videos and I have sandwiched the weird in between some more fun
- 1:01:19Charles: Classic stuff.
- 1:01:21Nora: I mean reborns are creepy
- 1:01:31Nora: This is what you need for the cheese roll
- 1:01:34Chris: Yeah, at least he's having a better time than most people.
- 1:01:36Chris: Oh my god.
- 1:01:38Chris: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:01:39Chris: Maybe not.
- 1:01:40Chris: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:01:45Charles: Watch it again.
- 1:01:46Charles: Can we watch it again?
- 1:01:47Charles: Can we watch it again?
- 1:01:48Charles: Watch it again?
- 1:01:48Charles: You have to watch it again.
- 1:01:51Charles: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:01:56Charles: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:01:57Chris: What a triumph of the human spirit.
- 1:01:59Charles: Oh, and there he goes.
- 1:02:01Charles: He's in the air.
- 1:02:02Charles: And in the tree.
- 1:02:05Charles: And then he's in another tree.
- 1:02:07Chris: Isn't that how Sonny Bono died?
- 1:02:09Charles: Oh my god,
- 1:02:11Charles: Chris.
- 1:02:13Charles: Holy shit.
- 1:02:17Nora: That was a good one, thank you.
- 1:02:19Charles: Oh, no problem.
- 1:02:20Charles: Here is some lighter content to kind of like...
- 1:02:25Chris: Oh, that guy looked pretty light.
- 1:02:27Charles: to clear our palates before we move on
- 1:02:30Charles: to our main topic segments.
- 1:02:33Charles: (SINGING) Because I just want to spin you
- 1:02:36Charles: round and round this dance floor.
- 1:02:39Charles: Get you drunk on love like mine.
- 1:02:42Charles: My wine does-
- 1:02:43Chris: This is like that shot in Twilight.
- 1:02:45Charles: Yeah.
- 1:02:46Nora: It's very Louisiana.
- 1:02:49Chris: Louisiana Twilight.
- 1:02:50Charles: All right,
- 1:02:50Charles: this last one is a musical number.
- 1:02:53Video: You may faint,
- 1:02:55Video: you may die,
- 1:02:57Video: approaching the end of your life.
- 1:03:00Video: Ooh,
- 1:03:01Video: see that girl,
- 1:03:03Video: she's an EMT.
- 1:03:05Video: It's a medical emergency.
- 1:03:08Video: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:03:15Chris: Yes.
- 1:03:16Nora: That's really good.
- 1:03:17Chris: Yes.
- 1:03:19Charles: Amazing.
- 1:03:20Chris: That was delightful.
- 1:03:23Charles: We've been going at it for an hour already.
- 1:03:25Charles: We've had a-
- 1:03:26Nora: I knew we were going to have some good reminets today.
- 1:03:30Charles: As Abba once said,
- 1:03:32Charles: we're having the time of our lives.
- 1:03:33Nora: We are.
- 1:03:35Nora: We are indeed.
- 1:03:36Charles: So-
- 1:03:37Nora: Do you know what that means?
- 1:03:38Charles: You know what that means?
- 1:03:38Charles: It means that somebody needs to do an ad read.
- 1:03:41Nora: I think it's my turn.
- 1:03:42Charles: I think it is your turn.
- 1:03:43Charles: I've been avoiding it.
- 1:03:43Charles: What kind of music do you want?
- 1:03:45Nora: I don't know.
- 1:03:46Nora: Surprise me.
- 1:03:48Charles: Oh, surprise you.
- 1:03:50Nora: I'm not even going to look at your screen
- 1:03:52Nora: to see what you're gonna give me.
- 1:03:54Charles: Let's do,
- 1:03:55Charles: hold on,
- 1:03:56Charles: what would be...
- 1:03:59Nora: We're gonna talk about loud.
- 1:03:59Charles: Let's do,
- 1:04:00Charles: okay,
- 1:04:01Charles: I'm gonna...
- 1:04:04Nora: Give me a vibe.
- 1:04:05Charles: Play a vibe. - Inspirational.
- 1:04:09Nora: Do you hear that, you guys?
- 1:04:11Nora: You know what it's time for?
- 1:04:12Nora: It's time to talk about loudspeaker.

- 1:05:37Charles: And as it points to the sign back here,
- 1:05:42Charles: voice is power.
- 1:05:43Charles: Voice is
- 1:05:44Charles: power people.
- 1:05:45Charles: Voice is power.
- 1:05:50Charles: You did such a good job. Thanks.
- 1:05:53Nora: I went for the loudspeaker studio since we've
- 1:05:55Nora: been doing the radio station pretty frequently.
- 1:05:57Charles: Yeah I like it.
- 1:05:58Charles: Good call.
- 1:06:00Nora: Yep yep okay so now we're gonna get into probably the best presentation that I've
- 1:06:05Nora: ever made for this show because we are all going to the Congo and in fact we're
- 1:06:11Nora: going to be getting in the Congo tomorrow you guys tomorrow in our
- 1:06:16Nora: inflatable kayak with all of our supplies we're going down the Congo so
- 1:06:22Nora: let's uh let's queue up my presentation so I can give you a little bit more
- 1:06:26Nora: context about this because you guys we're all going down the Congo tomorrow
- 1:06:32Nora: So if you would go to the next slide please.
- 1:06:37Nora: Why are we going to the Congo?
- 1:06:38Nora: What am I talking about?
- 1:06:40Nora: So the whole internet is currently joining Ash
- 1:06:43Nora: Dykes on his kayak trip down the Senga River in the Congo Basin.
- 1:06:48Nora: So we're going
- 1:06:48Nora: to cover a few different topics.
- 1:06:51Nora: So first of all I'm going to cover who is Ash
- 1:06:53Nora: Dykes?
- 1:06:54Nora: What is this crazy guy doing?
- 1:06:55Nora: What supplies are we bringing?
- 1:06:57Nora: What are the
- 1:06:58Nora: dangers and then how can I check our progress.
- 1:07:01Nora: So next slide please.
- 1:07:03Charles: Great name.
- 1:07:05Nora: What?
- 1:07:06Nora: Ash Dykes?
- 1:07:06Charles: Yeah.
- 1:07:07Nora: You cannot search his last name on TikTok and
- 1:07:10Nora: find his account.
- 1:07:12Charles: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:07:12Charles: I do not.
- 1:07:15Charles: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:07:17Charles: Oh.
- 1:07:19Charles: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:07:20Nora: So just for action-
- 1:07:21Charles: I bet if you searched on Google,
- 1:07:22Charles: too,
- 1:07:23Charles: you'd run into some issues as well.
- 1:07:24Nora: You can't do that.
- 1:07:25Nora: That's a slur.
- 1:07:27Nora: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:07:28Nora: So who is this guy?
- 1:07:29Chris: Hello, friend.
- 1:07:29Chris: Your name is a slur.
- 1:07:31Nora: Right?
- 1:07:32Nora: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:07:32Nora: He's Welsh,
- 1:07:33Nora: so maybe in Wales,
- 1:07:36Nora: dyke is not a slur.
- 1:07:37Nora: I don't know.
- 1:07:38Charles: >> [James] There are-- there is a term in, like, construction
- 1:07:42Charles: that is like-- >> [Sara] It's a dam.
- 1:07:43Charles: >> [James] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a dam,
- 1:07:45Charles: right?
- 1:07:46Nora: >> [Sara] A dam is the dike-
- 1:07:48Charles: >> [James] So I work in construction a little bit,
- 1:07:51Charles: and I'm in these meetings,
- 1:07:52Charles: and they're constantly,
- 1:07:54Charles: constantly talking about dikes.
- 1:07:57Charles: And I'm like,
- 1:07:58Charles: "Can we use a different word?"
- 1:08:00Charles: (all laughing)
- 1:08:02Mandy: >> [Sara] My senior thesis was,
- 1:08:04Mandy: "When the dam breaks,
- 1:08:06Mandy: "examining the flood of lesbians
- 1:08:07Mandy: Leaving the second wave feminist movement
- 1:08:11Nora: Really good damn dykes right exactly so
- 1:08:16Nora: He is a Welsh adventurer and survivalist and he has set
- 1:08:22Nora: Five world records and done four worlds first trips or set for worlds first
- 1:08:28Nora: He's gone across Mongolia the Yangtze the Amazon
- 1:08:32Nora: He's bringing two other people.
- 1:08:34Nora: Maybe three other people with him for this
- 1:08:36Nora: for the actual people who are going down the river and it's part of a project
- 1:08:42Nora: that he calls project six even though this is only the fifth thing that he is
- 1:08:46Nora: like the fifth project that he's been a part of but the idea is that if he so
- 1:08:53Nora: like he announces this one and then if he survives it he's gonna do five more
- 1:08:57Nora: so that's why it's project six because there's five there's going to be five
- 1:09:01Nora: other projects if he survives.
- 1:09:03Mandy: He's just too pretty for math.
- 1:09:05Nora: Yeah exactly
- 1:09:06Nora: So this is Ash right here.
- 1:09:11Nora: There will be about 700 kilometers
- 1:09:12Nora: that he's going to be traveling on the river.
- 1:09:15Nora: And he's already had malaria at least once
- 1:09:18Nora: and did not realize it.
- 1:09:20Nora: So-
- 1:09:21Chris: Wait, how do you not realize that you have malaria?
- 1:09:23Chris: We've all been there,
- 1:09:23Charles: Chris.
- 1:09:24Charles: We've all been there.
- 1:09:25Nora: He thought the hallucinations were coming
- 1:09:27Nora: from sleep deprivation.
- 1:09:29Nora: Because at this point in his journey,
- 1:09:31Nora: he had slept like five hours over like 72 hours,
- 1:09:35Nora: like five out of 72 hours he had slept.
- 1:09:37Nora: So like he hadn't slept and so there were hallucinations,
- 1:09:39Nora: but it also was malaria.
- 1:09:41Nora: So-
- 1:09:41Chris: What a baby.
- 1:09:42Nora: Yeah,
- 1:09:43Nora: so he also got malaria.
- 1:09:46Nora: So,
- 1:09:46Nora: we can go to the next slide please.
- 1:09:49Nora: What supplies do we have?
- 1:09:51Nora: Here's a quick video from Ash.
- 1:09:53Charles: We're gonna turn that baby up.
- 1:09:55Nora: Yeah.
- 1:09:57Charles: Let me know when you're ready.
- 1:09:59Mandy: Yeah.
- 1:10:00Video: 20 days before I'm dropped into the middle
- 1:10:02Video: of the Congo basin to travel over 700 kilometers
- 1:10:04Video: of the Sangha River.
- 1:10:05Video: And I'm gonna give you a brief breakdown
- 1:10:07Video: on some of the kit that I've got already.
- 1:10:10Video: We have got here the water filtration system.
- 1:10:13Video: We fill this up, we squeeze this down,
- 1:10:15Video: and it filters the water through the inner tube.
- 1:10:18Video: Of course, the sun hat.
- 1:10:20Video: This is the boots that I'll be wearing,
- 1:10:22Video: Sleater boots.
- 1:10:23Video: We have got the fire stick.
- 1:10:25Video: We have got waterproof matches as well.
- 1:10:29Video: We've got more bits and bobs in here.
- 1:10:31Video: This again is the water filtration that we're taking.
- 1:10:34Video: We've got the kayaks over here.
- 1:10:36Mandy: When does he tell us we can buy this
- 1:10:37Mandy: on his Amazon store?
- 1:10:39Nora: At the end.
- 1:10:41Video: Note that these are inflatable kayaks.
- 1:10:50Charles: Oh, it stopped.
- 1:10:50Charles: Sorry, I was just trying to pause it.
- 1:10:52Nora: That's okay.
- 1:10:53Nora: These are inflatable kayaks.
- 1:10:56Nora: So he has a bunch of stuff in dry bags.
- 1:10:59Nora: He has a bunch of stuff that he's bringing.
- 1:11:03Nora: But once again,
- 1:11:05Nora: he's taking inflatable kayaks down the river.
- 1:11:09Mandy: That's a choice.
- 1:11:09Nora: So I think that's really the most important thing here.
- 1:11:12Nora: So we're gonna go to the next slide here
- 1:11:16Nora: and we're gonna understand kind of,
- 1:11:18Nora: you're gonna have to restart it,
- 1:11:20Nora: why we're worried.
- 1:11:23Video: Why we're all worried for Ash Dykes
- 1:11:25Video: adventure to the Congo Basin.
- 1:11:26Video: So back in 2010,
- 1:11:28Video: alleged re-kayaker Hendrix Cortez
- 1:11:29Video: led a team deep into the Congo Basin
- 1:11:31Video: to paddle uncharted waters.
- 1:11:32Video: Hendrik was a master survivalist.
- 1:11:34Video: He literally warned his crew every single morning,
- 1:11:36Video: "Stay off the banks or the crocs will have you for lunch."
- 1:11:39Video: Then while paddling down the Lukanga River,
- 1:11:42Video: a massive Nile crocodile surfed right next to his kayak.
- 1:11:45Video: Without warning, it reached up,
- 1:11:47Video: grabbed Hendrik by the shoulder,
- 1:11:48Video: and pulled him down under.
- 1:11:50Video: His kayak popped back up completely empty,
- 1:11:52Video: and his body was never found.
- 1:11:55Video: May he continue to rest in peace,
- 1:11:57Video: and that's the reason why he was scared for us.
- 1:12:00Video: I just pray that nothing bad happens to him.
- 1:12:03Video: Yeah.
- 1:12:04Nora: Yeah, he's a positive.
- 1:12:05Nora: I'm scared, guys, I'm actually worried.
- 1:12:06Nora: I've never been worried for somebody like that.
- 1:12:08Nora: So it's scary in the Congo Basin,
- 1:12:11Nora: right?
- 1:12:11Nora: Like there are,
- 1:12:13Nora: it's not a safe river to go down.
- 1:12:16Nora: So now I'd like to list some of the animals
- 1:12:20Nora: that cause the most damage in the Congo Basin.
- 1:12:24Nora: What are the dangers?
- 1:12:25Nora: So if we could click once.
- 1:12:27Chris: Can I ask a question first real quick?
- 1:12:28Chris: Yeah.
- 1:12:29Chris: Why,
- 1:12:30Chris: so yes, we're worried about him
- 1:12:32Chris: and this is dangerous,
- 1:12:34Chris: but why is he doing it?
- 1:12:35Mandy: Right?
- 1:12:36Nora: 'Cause he wants to.
- 1:12:37Mandy: Ugh, white men.
- 1:12:38Nora: It's for content.
- 1:12:39Charles: It is very much a white man thing.
- 1:12:40Nora: It's for content.
- 1:12:42Mandy: Ugh, gross.
- 1:12:43Charles: For content too, that's even like-
- 1:12:45Nora: He's literally bringing-
- 1:12:47Mandy: It's 2026, why are we still doing expeditions?
- 1:12:48Nora: So sometimes he does solo expeditions,
- 1:12:50Nora: he literally is bringing one person,
- 1:12:52Nora: one guy on this trip just to film content for him.
- 1:12:56Nora: That's the only reason one of the guys is going.
- 1:12:58Chris: That's like a Truman show.
- 1:13:00Chris: He's like, "I wanna be a great explorer."
- 1:13:01Chris: They're like,
- 1:13:02Chris: "Sorry, there's nothing left to explore."
- 1:13:04Nora: Yeah, that's kinda what the internet has decided.
- 1:13:06Nora: So back to the slideshow here.
- 1:13:08Nora: So we have gorillas,
- 1:13:10Nora: and gorillas actually don't kill people very often.
- 1:13:13Nora: We are their primary hunter.
- 1:13:16Nora: However-- - Food source.
- 1:13:18Nora: We kill gorillas,
- 1:13:20Nora: they don't kill us.
- 1:13:20Nora: But I mean, I'm sure if you got close to a gorilla,
- 1:13:24Nora: it would rip you limb from limb.
- 1:13:25Nora: We know what chimpanzees will do.
- 1:13:27Nora: Next,
- 1:13:28Nora: the Goliath tigerfish.
- 1:13:30Nora: Surprisingly,
- 1:13:31Nora: it only kills about one to three people
- 1:13:33Nora: every year.
- 1:13:34Nora: You should work on that.
- 1:13:35Chris: I would think those numbers would be higher.
- 1:13:37Mandy: Terrifying.
- 1:13:37Mandy: You need to work on that.
- 1:13:39Nora: Yeah, it has giant teeth and it's terrifying
- 1:13:41Nora: and it does live in the water
- 1:13:42Nora: and the water is also very silty
- 1:13:44Nora: because of how much water is coming down this river.
- 1:13:48Nora: Next,
- 1:13:49Nora: we have crocodiles.
- 1:13:50Nora: So they kill between 300 and 1000 people every year.
- 1:13:55Nora: So,
- 1:13:55Nora: you know,
- 1:13:56Nora: there's lots of crocodiles on the river.
- 1:13:58Nora: Next,
- 1:13:59Nora: we have elephants.
- 1:14:00Nora: Elephants kill between 500 and 1,000 people
- 1:14:03Nora: in Africa every year.
- 1:14:05Nora: And I mean,
- 1:14:06Nora: obviously humans are more of a threat
- 1:14:08Nora: to a lot of these animals than they are to us.
- 1:14:13Nora: However,
- 1:14:13Nora: if there's a guy kayaking down the river,
- 1:14:15Nora: putting himself in danger,
- 1:14:17Nora: I think that like he might be the recipient of some karma.
- 1:14:22Nora: You know?
- 1:14:24Nora: And part of the place that he's going down
- 1:14:26Nora: has the highest population of elephants
- 1:14:28Nora: and gorillas in Africa.
- 1:14:32Nora: Next,
- 1:14:33Nora: we have hippopotamus.
- 1:14:34Nora: Hippopotamus,
- 1:14:34Nora: oh, dang it, I didn't get my layers right.
- 1:14:37Chris: That's okay.
- 1:14:38Mandy: We know what they look like.
- 1:14:39Mandy: Dang it, this is a scary picture
- 1:14:40Nora: of them charging you underwater.
- 1:14:42Charles: Hey Nora, that's an elephant.
- 1:14:43Nora: They kill,
- 1:14:44Nora: hippopotamus kill between 500 and 3,000 people
- 1:14:48Nora: in Africa every year. - Holy shit.
- 1:14:49Mandy: Good for them.
- 1:14:50Nora: So like,
- 1:14:51Nora: don't,
- 1:14:51Nora: they're far more prolific than crocodiles.
- 1:14:54Nora: Next,
- 1:14:56Nora: mosquitoes.
- 1:14:57Nora: You think that mosquitoes are not dangerous?
- 1:15:00Nora: They kill between 580,000 people
- 1:15:04Nora: and 610,000 people every year
- 1:15:08Nora: on the continent of Africa alone.
- 1:15:10Nora: Like this, and this is like in West Africa.
- 1:15:13Nora: This includes mostly malaria,
- 1:15:15Nora: but there are so many mosquito-borne illnesses
- 1:15:18Nora: The mosquitoes are like one of the single most
- 1:15:21Nora: dangerous animals to human beings in the world,
- 1:15:24Nora: period.
- 1:15:25Nora: Finally,
- 1:15:27Nora: dinosaurs.
- 1:15:29Charles: What?
- 1:15:30Nora: What?
- 1:15:32Charles: How many people do dinosaurs kill every year?
- 1:15:35Nora: Well,
- 1:15:35Mandy: unfortunately,
- 1:15:38Nora: I did kind of use that
- 1:15:39Nora: as clickbait because I'm pretty sure that most of the,
- 1:15:43Nora: if there are dinosaurs there, they're probably sauropods,
- 1:15:45Nora: which are the leaf-eating ones.
- 1:15:47Nora: Click again.
- 1:15:48Nora: The Moklele Mbeme.
- 1:15:51Nora: This is a crypto zoological phenomenon in the Congo,
- 1:15:57Nora: because the Congo basin is so unexplored.
- 1:16:00Chris: Speaking of crypto,
- 1:16:01Chris: that is AI as hell.
- 1:16:03Nora: This is a drawing.
- 1:16:04Nora: This is a drawing.
- 1:16:05Chris: What?
- 1:16:06Nora: Yeah,
- 1:16:06Nora: this is digital art.
- 1:16:09Charles: Yeah, this feels digital.
- 1:16:10Nora: This is a very handmade digital art.
- 1:16:12Nora: This is impossible.
- 1:16:17Nora: But I do love the whimsy of it.
- 1:16:19Nora: But it's like,
- 1:16:20Nora: it kind of works off the premise
- 1:16:22Nora: that like there is so much unexplored territory
- 1:16:25Nora: in the Congo Basin that there could be anything
- 1:16:27Nora: in the trees that we just haven't seen yet.
- 1:16:30Nora: And there have been sightings for years.
- 1:16:35Nora: Cryptozoologists think that it could be a dinosaur,
- 1:16:38Nora: it could be a reptilian,
- 1:16:39Nora: could be a mammal.
- 1:16:43Nora: It's some kind of amphibious animal with a bulky body
- 1:16:46Nora: a long neck and tail.
- 1:16:49Nora: If you're your mom.
- 1:16:50Mandy: Possibly feathers.
- 1:16:51Charles: Oh,
- 1:16:51Charles: fucking got her ass, Chris.
- 1:16:54Nora: Wait, what'd you say?
- 1:16:55Chris: Nothing.
- 1:16:55Nora: Okay.
- 1:16:56Chris: I'm now in total darkness,
- 1:16:58Chris: by the way.
- 1:16:59Chris: (laughing)
- 1:17:00Chris: Because the-
- 1:17:00Mandy: He keeps misbehaving.
- 1:17:01Mandy: We're putting him in the corner.
- 1:17:03Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:17:05Nora: So yeah, could be a sauropod,
- 1:17:07Nora: could be a long neck dinosaur,
- 1:17:08Nora: could be an okapi.
- 1:17:10Nora: But I,
- 1:17:11Nora: and if you go back to the slideshow,
- 1:17:13Nora: we have one more picture.
- 1:17:14Nora: This is actually what some of the more accurate drawings.
- 1:17:19Mandy: I think it had feathers.
- 1:17:21Nora: But it looks like it has a sock puppet mouth.
- 1:17:23Chris: It would look better with feathers for sure.
- 1:17:25Mandy: I think all dinosaurs would look better with feathers.
- 1:17:27Nora: I do agree.
- 1:17:29Nora: So yeah,

- 1:33:51Chris: or listen to it on a traditional radio station
- 1:33:54Chris: or an internet radio station like Loudspeaker,
- 1:33:57Chris: the play,
- 1:33:58Chris: the play out of the song is recorded
- 1:34:01Chris: and based on the amount of people who are listening to it,

- 1:34:24Chris: and this is how many people were listening
- 1:34:26Chris: when we played each song.
- 1:34:27Chris: And from that,
- 1:34:28Chris: they calculate a royalty payment

- 1:34:32Chris: And then once that goes to
- 1:34:33Chris: the performing rights organizations,

- 1:34:44Chris: the more an artist is played,
- 1:34:45Chris: the more money they make.
- 1:34:46Chris: And that's true on Spotify and Apple Music as well.
- 1:34:49Chris: However,
- 1:34:50Chris: the way they calculate plays
- 1:34:51Chris: on Spotify and Apple Music is much more unfair

- 1:34:59Chris: Got it.
- 1:35:00Charles: Yeah,
- 1:35:00Charles: so the same thing goes for comedians

- 1:37:41Chris: in the corner on the right-hand side,

- 1:37:50Chris: So the artist that is performing the song gets a royalty,
- 1:37:54Chris: but the person who composed the song also gets a royalty.
- 1:37:59Chris: If those are the same person,
- 1:38:00Chris: they get two levels of royalties.
- 1:38:02Chris: So there's a significant benefit to being both the composer

- 1:45:47Chris: because they have multiple comedy stations.
- 1:45:50Chris: But this channel in particular was the one
- 1:45:54Chris: that was essentially dedicated to your up-and-comers,
- 1:45:58Chris: your indie stuff,
- 1:46:00Chris: the people who are on the rise.
- 1:46:03Chris: And so they're the ones who are being hurt the most by this.
- 1:46:06Charles: Right. - Yeah.
- 1:46:07Charles: Cool,
- 1:46:08Charles: see I've got a video to play and yeah.
- 1:46:13Charles: Nope.
- 1:46:14Chris: (laughing)
- 1:46:14Chris: See more on Facebook.
- 1:46:15Charles: No, I don't.
- 1:46:17Mandy: Okay,
- 1:46:18Mandy: I was like, what did I do?
- 1:46:19Mandy: What did I do?
- 1:46:20Charles: I don't have a video to play.
- 1:46:22Nora: Yeah, well John Marco is awesome.
- 1:46:24Charles: Oh, it's playing,
- 1:46:25Charles: what the fuck?
- 1:46:26Video: A problem in the standup comedy community,
- 1:46:29Video: and there's obviously many problems,
- 1:46:30Video: we're not gonna fix them all today,
- 1:46:31Video: but this one is specifically about a change that happened
- 1:46:34Video: at Sirius XM.
- 1:46:36Video: Now you may already know this,
- 1:46:37Video: but stand-up comedians supplement their income
- 1:46:40Charles: so they can source to nothing.
- 1:46:43Video: But more significant is in March,
- 1:46:46Video: there were 808 distinct artists played
- 1:46:49Video: over the course of a month.
- 1:46:51Video: And in September,
- 1:46:52Video: after the rebranding,
- 1:46:53Video: it was only 275.
- 1:46:56Charles: We've already heard all this.
- 1:46:57Video: That channel, you can have it hosted
- 1:46:58Video: by AI Rodney Dangerfield.
- 1:47:01Video: Don't do that.
- 1:47:02Video: Robert Klein,
- 1:47:03Video: Joan Rivers.
- 1:47:04Video: I love Joan Rivers.
- 1:47:06Video: She doesn't need the money.
- 1:47:07Video: Ricky Gervais.
- 1:47:08Chris: No, 'cause she's dead. - She's dead to me.
- 1:47:09Video: I know it might seem small,
- 1:47:11Video: but SiriusXM allows comedians-
- 1:47:14Video: Oh yeah, that was another part of this.
- 1:47:15Video: A lot of the comedians that are being played are dead.
- 1:47:19Video: Allows them to continue to pursue their passion
- 1:47:22Video: and to have time-
- 1:47:24Nora: There's dead, right, like-
- 1:47:25Chris: What did you say, Charles?
- 1:47:26Charles: So I was just saying that a lot of the comedians
- 1:47:29Charles: that they are playing are dead comedians.
- 1:47:32Nora: Demetri Martin?
- 1:47:33Charles: He's not dead.
- 1:47:34Charles: Demetri Martin is not dead.
- 1:47:36Nora: Who's the other one that I'm thinking of?
- 1:47:38Nora: There's another famous,
- 1:47:39Nora: but like I know,
- 1:47:41Nora: got the wrong comedian name.
- 1:47:42Nora: But like,
- 1:47:43Nora: there's comedians out there
- 1:47:45Nora: who like their content's still good,
- 1:47:47Nora: but like they're not around to make money anymore.
- 1:47:49Nora: Like we should be supporting-
- 1:47:51Chris: Their estates still get paid,
- 1:47:52Chris: 'cause just because an artist dies
- 1:47:53Chris: doesn't mean that their estate or whoever their heirs are
- 1:47:56Chris: don't continue to make money from their work.
- 1:47:59Nora: Right, but like,
- 1:47:59Nora: you know.
- 1:48:01Chris: But the point is that they have changed the focus
- 1:48:05Chris: of this channel to focus almost exclusively
- 1:48:08Chris: on people who don't need the exposure
- 1:48:09Chris: and don't need the income versus what it was before
- 1:48:13Chris: where it was predominantly the other way.
- 1:48:14Nora: Exactly.
- 1:48:16Charles: Do you think it's like trying to get more people
- 1:48:18Charles: to listen to the station?
- 1:48:19Charles: I guess it's gotta be. - Most likely.
- 1:48:21Chris: I think,
- 1:48:22Chris: you know,
- 1:48:22Chris: the reason that every radio station
- 1:48:24Chris: that you hear,
- 1:48:25Chris: except ours,
- 1:48:27Chris: plays a lot of the same stuff
- 1:48:28Chris: is because what's familiar to people keeps people listening
- 1:48:32Chris: because they just put it on in the background
- 1:48:33Chris: and they don't have to think about it.
- 1:48:35Chris: That's why we're different.
- 1:48:36Chris: And that's why one of the things that,
- 1:48:38Chris: that was one of the things that people loved about Sirius
- 1:48:40Chris: was the variety of different voices,
- 1:48:44Chris: different things you'd have access to.
- 1:48:45Chris: The difference between us and Sirius is that
- 1:48:47Chris: we don't charge you for that privilege.
- 1:48:49Chris: They do.
- 1:48:50Chris: They make money.
- 1:48:51Chris: We don't.
- 1:48:52Chris: You know, it's a different way of doing things,
- 1:48:54Chris: which is fine.
- 1:48:56Chris: I have no issue with them making money.
- 1:48:58Chris: I have an issue with them taking something that was meant to be something that was uplifting
- 1:49:04Chris: to the next generation of comedians and turning it in on itself to where it's now the opposite
- 1:49:08Chris: of what it used to be.
- 1:49:09Charles: Right.
- 1:49:09Nora: I met Mitch Hedberg.
- 1:49:11Nora: That's who I met.
- 1:49:12Charles: Oh yeah, he's dead.
- 1:49:13Nora: Yeah, that's who I met.
- 1:49:14Chris: He's very dead.
- 1:49:15Charles: He's definitely a dead comedian.
- 1:49:17Nora: And I know that that's who I was meeting.
- 1:49:18Nora: Yeah,
- 1:49:19Nora: Hedberg.
- 1:49:19Nora: But like Hedberg was one that I was introduced to.
- 1:49:21Nora: Like I'm thinking of like when I had Sirius XM,
- 1:49:24Nora: I would listen to raw comedy and like
- 1:49:27Nora: was one that I would hear a lot is Hedberg and I'm sure that's still being
- 1:49:30Nora: included and like you know I want to hear new comedians yeah that's what I
- 1:49:35Nora: would want to hear.
- 1:49:35Chris: So folks here is our call to action if you are a SiriusXM
- 1:49:39Chris: subscriber and this upsets you the way it upsets us complain maybe cancel your
- 1:49:44Chris: account maybe write to SiriusXM the only way this gets changed is if we make
- 1:49:50Chris: some noise so make some noise.
- 1:49:53Charles: All right I think that's it I don't think
- 1:49:57Charles: All the information from that video is stuff that I've already talked about.
- 1:50:01Charles: So I think we're just said it less funny
- 1:50:03Charles: I said yeah
- 1:50:06Nora: I mean, it's really hard to be as funny as John Marcus or as a yeah
- 1:50:14Nora: Well tune in next week
- 1:50:17Nora: We're gonna have a
- 1:50:26Nora: Show and
- 1:50:27Chris: Charles, did you watch it finally?
- 1:50:28Charles: No.
- 1:50:29Nora: Charles, you're going to watch it?
- 1:50:30Nora: Between now and Wednesday.
- 1:50:31Nora: Yes.
- 1:50:32Charles: It's on my list of things to do.
- 1:50:33Nora: Between now and next Wednesday,
- 1:50:35Nora: you
- 1:50:35Nora: will watch Obsession because we're
- 1:50:36Nora: talking about it next Wednesday.
- 1:50:37Nora: Tune in.
- 1:50:38Nora: Join us.
- 1:50:38Nora: We love you.
- 1:50:39Nora: Subscribe,
- 1:50:39Nora: like, follow,
- 1:50:40Nora: comment.
- 1:50:41Nora: Make sure you tune in.
- 1:50:43Nora: And we love you.
- 1:50:43Nora: Bye.
- 1:50:48Video: This is Loudspeaker.
