- 0:00SPEAKER_00: I had to turn down the trip of a lifetime and I'm almost kicking myself about it.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: I'm all ears, because for you to say no to a trip is like you saying no to a brewery on a weekend.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: It's almost an impossibility.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Listen.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Where am I going?
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: You got me this week.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: But it has to do with you.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: So just be glad.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Be glad.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Maybe you're not glad at that I turned this down, but this is the text message I get.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: Hey you.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: This is my cousin Melanie.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: My cousin Melanie owns her own business.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: She does really well for herself.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: So what is it with the people that are in your life?
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: You had a friend of yours sell his business, have no clue what he did, made trillions off of it, wants to take you to Vegas.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Wait.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Now there's this.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Wait, listen.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: How do we end up on this end of the mic?
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Not right.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: She goes, hey, I'm not sure if you have any extra vacation, but you would you want to go on a cruise with me and my boys?
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Uh I have an extra spot already paid for, thinking that you'd want to go.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: It leaves from New York City August 4th to the 8th.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Ah, I see where you're going there.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's our conference coming up.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Hold on.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Do you want to know the location?
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Turks and Caicos.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Turks and money.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: That's so exotic.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: I know, and I've I've always wanted to go to Turks and Caicos.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: And the very last line: no cost to you other than getting to New York City.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Hop in the car.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Well, here's the question.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Here's the thing, though.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: What really kind of throws me is How many people want to take me on vacation?
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: There's that question too.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: Yes, that's a piece to that.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: No, let's back this up for just a second here.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: What?
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Either you were not the first choice, like she's trying to sell it to you in the beginning here.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: I was not.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: I was not.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: All right, reread that beginning.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: I want to hear how she wrote that.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: This is such a thing.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Well, I can tell you who her who her first choice was.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: Well, sure.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: It was her sister.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: Um, well, okay.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Who cares?
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: But listen to the way she wrote it to you.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Hey, you not sure if you have any extra vacation, but would you want to go on a cruise with me and my boys?
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: I have an extra spot already paid for, thinking you'd want to go.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: Stop.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: Right there.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: But not really thinking you'd want to go because her sister was the one that was supposed to go in the beginning.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Lena, that's her sister's name.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Lena can't take that time off of work.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: And then I thought of you.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: So I didn't exclude that part on the first time I read it.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, but now that I'm putting it in perspective, let's be real.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: You are choice number two.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Not thinking you were the one that wanted to go.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: I mean, don't get me wrong, it's still a great offer.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: If I'm sloppy seconds, I'm okay with it.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: You are.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: In this case, you have totally.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: It's like right there.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: But who books these things without locking it down first?
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: I remember when you were booking the sphere trip.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: This was uh when you went and saw No Doubt, this was a yes, I want to go.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Yes, I want to go.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: I I mean, I who does it without confirming this?
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: Actually, this is happening in my house right now.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: Tiffany just bought stagecoach tickets and for next year.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: And and go with her.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying I'm not gonna go.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Sounds like you're not gonna go.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: No, I just it was like one of those things that was sort of like there was no pre-conversation.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Well, if I was buying stagecoach, I automatically in my mind am going, well, you're right, there's gotta be a pre-conversation.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: You gotta have some conversation.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: In my mind, I'm going, I'm taking Zach with me.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't care that she bought him and that she's going.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: That's not the point to it.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Well, I wasn't saying that.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: The point to it is is well, there's two points.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: One, you are sloppy seconds, and but being trying to sold as though you're the first choice.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Oh, and I know I'm not the first choice, but I it's funny because I think because she just buys an extra ticket no matter what, going, someone will want to go for free.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: And then tries to sell it and get a first choice.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Whether it's like a high school girlfriend, so basically, I'm second, at least I wasn't third.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: I just don't live in that world.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: You might have been third, you're right.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: But then I I was this close to going, you know what?
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: I will cancel, not cancel, but I was gonna see if our so here's what's happening.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Scott and I are we're supposed to be in a conference during this time.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: In Cleveland, of all places, which is my hometown.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: So I thought maybe I should reach out to see if they bought the conference ticket.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Because if not, then I'll go to Turks and Caicos instead.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: But then I thought, I can't leave Scott.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: I can't Why not?
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: There's many days to come over the course of 2026 yet that you'll be leaving me.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: I survived.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: I was thinking not l no, I was thinking not leaving you at the conference by yourself.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh well that would suck, yeah.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: But that's why, that's why, because it's the exact same time we're at that conference.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: Which deals with exactly what we do every single day.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: So I can see, yeah.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: That's why I I thought, I'm not gonna leave him.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: Okay, well, I mean, this is this is almost as good of a sell as I th I was thinking of you, that you wanted to go.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: But I here's what I was thinking.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Here's what I was thinking.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: You should appreciate that I just Oh my god, how you just womaned me.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: You just now I have to appreciate you for something.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: I am done.
