- 0:21Speaker 1: Seth and Marge. This is a ten round quiz show
- 0:24Speaker 1: with questions from meat Eater's four verticals which are hunting, fishing,
- 0:27Speaker 1: conservation and cooking, and there is a prize. Meat Eater
- 0:30Speaker 1: will donate five hundred dollars to the conservation organization of
- 0:34Speaker 1: the winners. Choosing and for the stat of the week.
- 0:36Speaker 1: This week we're looking at total games played. Brody has
- 0:40Speaker 1: been on the most episodes of Meat Eater Trivia with
- 0:43Speaker 1: sixty seven appearances. That's followed by Yanni at fifty three,
- 0:47Speaker 1: Steve at fifty two, Seth at forty two, Corin at
- 0:51Speaker 1: thirty nine, Chester at thirty four, and Randall and Cal
- 0:55Speaker 1: at thirty one. Brody sixty seven appearances. How does it
- 0:59Speaker 1: feel to be the feels.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Like I'm closing in on retirement.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Oh really, and then I'll come back for a couple.
- 1:07Speaker 3: More like sure, Jorian, you announce your retirement just to
- 1:11Speaker 3: just to build up a bunch of pipe and then yeah,
- 1:13Speaker 3: do a retirement.
- 1:14Speaker 4: You'll take a month week.
- 1:16Speaker 5: Oh yeah, dude, the Dwayne Wade and you just change
- 1:18Speaker 5: jerseys with everybody go around the country, you know.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Yeah, sixty seven appearances by bro What was mine? Uh?
- 1:26Speaker 1: Seth is at forty two. You're the third most common
- 1:29Speaker 1: guest on media and wish I wish my winnings. Like
- 1:35Speaker 1: here's our new segment, I f aqs. If you have
- 1:38Speaker 1: a question for our crew related to meat Eater trivia,
- 1:41Speaker 1: you can send it to trivia at the medeater dot
- 1:43Speaker 1: com with the subject line i f AQ. Claudia Wallace
- 1:47Speaker 1: wants to know why doesn't the Silence Killer play more trivia.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I'm not complaining. I'm just wondering if he's scared to
- 1:53Speaker 1: play or if everyone else is scared to play with him.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Another Silence Killer is Steve and you probably list, but
- 2:00Speaker 1: he hosts a little TV show and podcast that has
- 2:03Speaker 1: him traveling a lot and doing those things. It's also
- 2:07Speaker 1: a very important part in this company that you know
- 2:10Speaker 1: has a lot of responsibilities here. Steve is a hard
- 2:13Speaker 1: man to get as a guest on this show. I
- 2:15Speaker 1: do my best. I'm always checking his schedule. Sometimes it
- 2:18Speaker 1: doesn't work out and as you heard, he has made
- 2:20Speaker 1: fifty two appearances, right behind.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Yanni, and that's out of a possible.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I don't know eighty something like that.
- 2:29Speaker 6: Well, I think this. We're in the nineties for trivia episodes.
- 2:32Speaker 6: I think are good. Your one hundredth episode is going
- 2:34Speaker 6: to be in two weeks.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Thank you for the warning. This might be one hundred.
- 2:38Speaker 5: If this is actually one hundred, we blew it.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Yeah, something much more thoughtful.
- 2:43Speaker 4: We'll reschedule.
- 2:45Speaker 1: That's right. We'll shuffle this one back so this will
- 2:47Speaker 1: be like one a.
- 2:48Speaker 5: Week, and then that'll be incredibly confusing for listeners.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Sure, now we have some housekeeping to get to you.
- 2:53Speaker 1: In a previous game of trivia, we talked about how
- 2:55Speaker 1: the trivia community refers to the provided tidbit after each
- 2:59Speaker 1: question as flavor text. But many of our players and
- 3:02Speaker 1: listeners protested this term, and some even offered alternatives. Here
- 3:07Speaker 1: are a few suggestions we got from listeners for words
- 3:10Speaker 1: and phrases we can use to replace flavor text. I'll
- 3:13Speaker 1: read these off you guys, will take your temperature afterwards,
- 3:16Speaker 1: see what you think of them. How about this one?
- 3:18Speaker 1: Trivia treats like it? No? Okay? Wow, Booth thumbs down,
- 3:24Speaker 1: hated it. How about Spencer snacks? No, okay, even emphatically?
- 3:31Speaker 4: Is that your suggestion?
- 3:32Speaker 1: It was not my suggestion. I think that was a
- 3:33Speaker 1: YouTube commentor oh I might have suggested that. Actually, okay,
- 3:39Speaker 1: here we go on Spencer's seasonings or the seasonings. No, okay, gristle,
- 3:48Speaker 1: how about that one? It's all like food related jokey
- 3:53Speaker 1: ship like that. I mean, what what would you like
- 3:55Speaker 1: it to be? Brody?
- 3:57Speaker 4: I'm just with the original toy.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Here's the last one, the fat. Mm hmm.
- 4:04Speaker 4: That one much better change.
- 4:07Speaker 5: I was leaning towards informational sentences, but I like the fact.
- 4:11Speaker 1: The fat, Like, uh, isn't this saying like you chew
- 4:14Speaker 1: the fat fat? We like trim it off from the other.
- 4:17Speaker 1: So maybe the fat. I still prefer flavor text, though
- 4:19Speaker 1: you guys like the fat.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Better or you kind of won me over with flavor
- 4:22Speaker 2: text considering what we're just going to listen.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Uh, interchangeable could be the one flavor text.
- 4:29Speaker 5: I think we play around with it.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Okay, see it feels right. If you have any more suggestions,
- 4:34Speaker 1: I put in the YouTube comments right, it's at trivia
- 4:36Speaker 1: at the mediator dot com. Now the Shelby Index for
- 4:39Speaker 1: today's round is a four, so our winners should get
- 4:41Speaker 1: eight correct answers, and with that we're onto the game
- 4:44Speaker 1: of trivia. Play the drop, Phil, Look, I need to
- 4:50Speaker 1: know what I stay under?
- 4:51Speaker 7: Win everything?
- 4:53Speaker 1: How's that you just tend to win everything?
- 5:03Speaker 3: Gamon Suckers.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Question one. The topic is hunting, and this will be
- 5:08Speaker 1: multiple choice. Which of these states has the latest opener
- 5:14Speaker 1: for deer season? Is it Illinois, North Dakota, Idaho, or Florida.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Which of these states has the latest opener for deer season?
- 5:27Speaker 1: Is it Illinois, North Dakota, Idaho, Florida. What are your questions?
- 5:34Speaker 3: Are we talking gun season?
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yes, got you go? This isn't weapon specific. Which of
- 5:44Speaker 1: these states has the latest opener for deer season? Illinois,
- 5:49Speaker 1: North Dakota, Idaho, or Florida. This is not a trick question.
- 5:56Speaker 1: It's not like if if Maryland was a choice in
- 5:59Speaker 1: balt More had some very unique urban season where you
- 6:03Speaker 1: can kill deer twelve months out of the year. It's
- 6:06Speaker 1: nothing like that. There's no trickery going on here. Which
- 6:09Speaker 1: of these states has the latest opener for deer season? Illinois,
- 6:14Speaker 1: North Dakota, Idaho, Florida, Brody, How do you feel about
- 6:19Speaker 1: your answer?
- 6:21Speaker 2: I don't feel any way about it right now?
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yanni, have you hunted in any of these states? Illinois,
- 6:27Speaker 1: North Dakota, Idaho, Florida.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Only Idaho that for deer, for deer. I've hunted in
- 6:34Speaker 4: Florida for turkeys. Never never even been to North Dakota.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I don't think, what goodness you live in a state
- 6:42Speaker 1: bordering it?
- 6:43Speaker 4: Now?
- 6:43Speaker 1: I know what do you got against them?
- 6:46Speaker 4: Nothing? I might actually drive through there this spring break.
- 6:50Speaker 4: My girls and I am doing a little spring break tour.
- 6:52Speaker 4: We're going to the Midwest.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Can I come? Uh?
- 7:01Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah. Jennifer stayed home for the first part, so
- 7:04Speaker 4: I have one extra spot in the truck.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I was telling Yanni about a trip upcoming and he said,
- 7:08Speaker 1: well can I come? And I said no. So now
- 7:12Speaker 1: I thought I'd get even here and put him on
- 7:13Speaker 1: the spot, but he just invited me along.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Yeah, we're gonna go squirrel hunt in on our little
- 7:19Speaker 4: place in Wisconsin.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Are you going to do any turkey? Or is it
- 7:22Speaker 3: not that time?
- 7:23Speaker 4: For not a little too early?
- 7:25Speaker 1: Still, does everybody have an answer long squirrel?
- 7:29Speaker 7: Se?
- 7:29Speaker 4: Uh no? But as a landowner, king Yanni.
- 7:38Speaker 1: To bring his helicopters. Everybody ready, Maggie, go ahead and
- 7:42Speaker 1: reveal your answers. We have Seth sang Idaho, Corey sang Florida.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Tresta sang No Deck, Randall sang Florida. Marge saying Illinois.
- 7:52Speaker 1: She drew a little deer Yanni sang Florida. Hillardy sang Florida.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Brody saying Florida. The correct answer is Illinois only. Marge
- 8:05Speaker 1: got it right. In twenty twenty three, Some Florida deer
- 8:10Speaker 1: seasons opened on July twenty ninth, Some Idaho deer seasons
- 8:14Speaker 1: opened on August fifteenth, North Dakota opened September first, and
- 8:18Speaker 1: Illinois opened on October first. Illinois has one of the
- 8:22Speaker 1: latest deer openers in the country, So a lot of
- 8:25Speaker 1: you went with the opposite, went with Florida, which actually
- 8:29Speaker 1: has I think the earliest opener in the country. Would
- 8:31Speaker 1: you have known that, Yes, I I think I would
- 8:37Speaker 1: have known that. Well, to be fair, I lived in
- 8:40Speaker 1: Illinois for a year, so I was aware that they
- 8:43Speaker 1: had for three years. But did you hunt deer when
- 8:46Speaker 1: you were there? No, I lived on the South side
- 8:47Speaker 1: of Chicago. Question two The topic is fishing. This next
- 8:52Speaker 1: great question. That's so you know, Spencer does not tell
- 9:00Speaker 1: us about living on the south Side. We're already for developed.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Your just been like, uh, oh neat do you go
- 9:10Speaker 1: to a White Sock? I was just trying to explain,
- 9:12Speaker 1: why how far from the White Sox stadium did you
- 9:14Speaker 1: live Randall? Because there in the two.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Stops on the red line, Yeah, Socks thirty fifth the stop.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Did you ever go?
- 9:22Speaker 5: Oh yeah, they won the series my first year there?
- 9:25Speaker 1: So what was like? What was your go to food
- 9:27Speaker 1: at the stadium?
- 9:29Speaker 5: I don't have to go through this charade. Now you
- 9:33Speaker 5: clearly weren't interested, and now you're just putting me on
- 9:36Speaker 5: the spot.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Question the first question into the topic of fishing, what
- 9:40Speaker 1: was your relationship status while you were there? Very single? Okay,
- 9:45Speaker 1: that's that's uh question to the topic of fishing. This
- 9:52Speaker 1: next great question comes to us via John Calvello. The
- 9:56Speaker 1: us g S defines this nine letter word as quote,
- 10:00Speaker 1: the measure of relative clarity of water.
- 10:04Speaker 4: M God, I.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Hate these letter nine letter ones.
- 10:08Speaker 1: The USGS defines this nine letter word as quote, the
- 10:13Speaker 1: measure of relative clarity of water. Brody looks confident. Yanni
- 10:20Speaker 1: looks confident?
- 10:21Speaker 3: Yanni?
- 10:21Speaker 1: You know this one, I believe. So you ever throw
- 10:24Speaker 1: this word around just for funzies? Yeah, okay, Brody, you
- 10:28Speaker 1: know this one too.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Pretty sure?
- 10:30Speaker 2: Or I got it's a big coincidence.
- 10:32Speaker 4: You mean in the same way that Ranella likes to
- 10:36Speaker 4: throw fakundity around.
- 10:39Speaker 1: The USGS defines this nine letter word as the measure
- 10:42Speaker 1: of relative clarity of water. Do you think Seth should
- 10:47Speaker 1: know this one, Brody?
- 10:50Speaker 4: I think I probably do know it.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it's one of those things where it'll
- 10:54Speaker 2: be like God, damn it.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Somehow. I feel like we've learned about this working together
- 11:00Speaker 4: back in Veil. I feel like we even learned how
- 11:04Speaker 4: they measured it.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I think I can take the watershed Council or something.
- 11:08Speaker 4: I don't know what they would have been checking.
- 11:11Speaker 7: The did you use a sei disc?
- 11:14Speaker 1: Oh, very good, magie, there was a hint.
- 11:18Speaker 4: How did you know that it was?
- 11:19Speaker 1: You went to school for biology, right, Did you ever
- 11:22Speaker 1: measure this using Yes?
- 11:24Speaker 7: In Minnesota at the school where I went, we had
- 11:26Speaker 7: a whole limino course.
- 11:30Speaker 1: It's a thing that's about the size of a pie
- 11:32Speaker 1: plate that's black and white. You lower it in the water,
- 11:35Speaker 1: and when it disappears, that's how you.
- 11:37Speaker 7: Measure it basically a white dinner plate.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I think it's named after the person who invented se
- 11:44Speaker 1: C C h I I.
- 11:47Speaker 6: If the flavor text is a Spencer snack and that
- 11:49Speaker 6: was a Maggie morsel.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Very well is everybody can answer, master, Master done, go
- 11:57Speaker 1: ahead and reveal your answers. We have without an answer,
- 12:01Speaker 1: Corey saying murkiness. Tress is saying purified, Randall saying turbidity,
- 12:07Speaker 1: Marge saying turbidity. She drew a nice little walleye Yanni
- 12:11Speaker 1: sang turbidity. Hillary without an answer, Brody saying turbidity. That's
- 12:16Speaker 1: the correct answer, turbidity. The more turbid water is, the
- 12:21Speaker 1: less visibility it has. Things that can affect turbidity include
- 12:25Speaker 1: the presence of clay, silt, lgae, and plankton, and how
- 12:28Speaker 1: much the water is moving. To For help with selecting
- 12:32Speaker 1: lure based on the water clarity, read Joe Smelli's article
- 12:35Speaker 1: on the mediator dot com called how to Choose the
- 12:37Speaker 1: Perfect Fishing Lure Color.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Me and you has had many a guiding day ruined
- 12:42Speaker 2: by turbidity.
- 12:45Speaker 1: There you go, Now was what you were thinking of?
- 12:47Speaker 1: How to measure it? The sucky disc that Maggie was referencing, yes,
- 12:52Speaker 1: there you go. Now, I think they have more precise
- 12:54Speaker 1: ways that they dip a pole down and measures like
- 12:57Speaker 1: ten things for you as well as turbidity. Question three,
- 13:00Speaker 1: the topic is woodsmanship. The us DA divides oak trees
- 13:05Speaker 1: into these two major groups. The us DADE divides oak
- 13:13Speaker 1: trees into these two major groups. In our last game,
- 13:19Speaker 1: which took place about forty minutes ago, Yannie was talking
- 13:22Speaker 1: about oak trees. I was worried that he was just
- 13:25Speaker 1: gonna throw this answer out there, but he never approached it.
- 13:29Speaker 1: The USDA divides oak trees into these two major groups.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Randall you have this one right?
- 13:41Speaker 5: Oh no, it's just a guess.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Okay, I won't know this. Seth our Lumberjack in the room.
- 13:51Speaker 3: I'm regretting telling you that I could be here for
- 13:53Speaker 3: this one.
- 13:57Speaker 1: The USDA divides oak trees into these two major groups.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Yanni is losing the sweatshirt? Is that gonna help you out? Yanni?
- 14:09Speaker 1: What is that gonna help you out? Ditching the sweatshirt?
- 14:11Speaker 4: It's gonna help me feel more comfortable?
- 14:14Speaker 3: Does this mean that some oak trees are part of
- 14:18Speaker 3: like depending.
- 14:21Speaker 1: The U s d A divides oak trees into these
- 14:27Speaker 1: two major groups. That is a quote from their website.
- 14:32Speaker 1: They say oak trees are divided into these two major groups.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Is everybody ready? Mmmmm, Brody, how we doing over here?
- 14:44Speaker 4: Sounds like that Eagles?
- 14:46Speaker 3: Uh?
- 14:48Speaker 4: You know what I'm talking about?
- 14:50Speaker 5: Uh, I watched it on mute. Oh sorry, but I
- 14:54Speaker 5: can imagine.
- 14:55Speaker 1: I don't know if.
- 14:56Speaker 4: It's him or somebody on the line, but I watched
- 14:59Speaker 4: another ball game. I'm like, I didn't hear that sound.
- 15:01Speaker 4: But every time they snap, it's actually after the snap,
- 15:05Speaker 4: you just hear this like almost moose like grunting.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Is everybody ready? Go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 15:14Speaker 1: have Seth saying red oak, white oak. Corey sang white black,
- 15:20Speaker 1: Tressa saying white orange, Randall saying white, red, Marge saying
- 15:25Speaker 1: savannah and woodland. She drew us a nice oak leaf
- 15:29Speaker 1: and acorn. Yanni sang upland and swamp. Hillary without an answer,
- 15:34Speaker 1: Brody saying pin and scrub. He crossed out red and white.
- 15:39Speaker 1: The correct answer is white and red.
- 15:43Speaker 7: Kick.
- 15:43Speaker 1: We had Randall and Seth. Get it right, Brody. Acorns
- 15:51Speaker 1: from red oaks have more fat and calories, but acorns
- 15:55Speaker 1: from white oaks taste better. One way to tell the
- 15:58Speaker 1: difference between the two is by looking at the leaves.
- 16:01Speaker 1: White oaks have rounded lobes and red oaks have pointed lobes.
- 16:04Speaker 1: A way to remember this is that pointed leaves could
- 16:07Speaker 1: poke you and draw red blood. Therefore they're from a
- 16:10Speaker 1: red oak. Question four, the topic is gear. This is
- 16:15Speaker 1: our listener question of the week, which was won by
- 16:18Speaker 1: Brian Keighley for sending this great question. Brian is going
- 16:21Speaker 1: to get a board game signed by the crew. If
- 16:23Speaker 1: you want a chance to win our listener question of
- 16:25Speaker 1: the week, then send your question to Trivia at the
- 16:27Speaker 1: meat eater dot com. Name one of the three states
- 16:32Speaker 1: with the most snowmobile registrations. The topic is gear. Name
- 16:40Speaker 1: one of the three states with the most snowmobile registrations.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Very confident, Seth. Yanni looks confident. Randal looks confident. Randal,
- 16:51Speaker 1: you got this one right.
- 16:52Speaker 5: I think so. I'll be surprised. I'll be surprised if
- 16:55Speaker 5: I have it wrong.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Name one of the three states with the most snowmobile registrations.
- 17:03Speaker 8: I just drove a snowmobile over two hundred miles in
- 17:05Speaker 8: the last couple of days.
- 17:06Speaker 1: You think that's going to help you on this one.
- 17:08Speaker 8: They're better tell folks about the weather. On that one, Corey,
- 17:11Speaker 8: it was negative forty eight the day we went in.
- 17:15Speaker 8: We drove fifty five miles, about thirty miles an hour.
- 17:18Speaker 8: I got to figure out what the wind chill would
- 17:20Speaker 8: have been. It was cold, so it was negative forty
- 17:22Speaker 8: eight before wind chill.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that was what the thermometer is. You felt, You
- 17:28Speaker 1: felt something that probably few people whatever except you. You're
- 17:32Speaker 1: a father, right, yes, that's right, very responsible.
- 17:36Speaker 8: We had some good gear though, a lot of good
- 17:39Speaker 8: trusted your year is working.
- 17:42Speaker 5: Only joking, I don't question here.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Name one of the three states with the most snowmobile registrations?
- 17:50Speaker 1: Is everybody ready? Go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 17:54Speaker 1: have saying Utah, Cory saying North Dakota, tress is saying,
- 18:00Speaker 1: Randall saying Minnesota. Marge saying Minnesota her home state, and
- 18:04Speaker 1: she drew the state, Yanni saying Michigan, Hillary saying Idaho,
- 18:10Speaker 1: Brody saying Minnesota. The three states are Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Think about half the room right that one right? There
- 18:20Speaker 1: are about one point two million registered snowmobiles in America.
- 18:25Speaker 1: With half of them coming from those three states. There
- 18:28Speaker 1: are two hundred thirty thousand registered snowmobiles in Wisconsin, two
- 18:32Speaker 1: hundred thousand in Minnesota, one hundred seventy thousand in Michigan,
- 18:37Speaker 1: one hundred five thousand in New York, eighty five thousand
- 18:41Speaker 1: in Maine, and sixty seven thousand in Alaska. Those are
- 18:45Speaker 1: your states with the most.
- 18:47Speaker 6: Use to Yoda ride snowmobile.
- 18:48Speaker 7: To my high school, Nate had snowmobile parking in the
- 18:51Speaker 7: back because you could cut across the lake so much
- 18:53Speaker 7: quicker you get into school.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Stop you from doing it now.
- 18:56Speaker 7: I'd never my parents, we'dn't own one. So but then
- 18:59Speaker 7: the school banned the Oh really, because people are lunch,
- 19:03Speaker 7: you know, doing what they do.
- 19:04Speaker 4: For the kids.
- 19:07Speaker 8: I fail.
- 19:07Speaker 1: We are halfway through the game of tricking.
- 19:09Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 19:10Speaker 1: We're sorry. This is question five. The topic is cooking.
- 19:14Speaker 1: It's just just testing, Phil. He passed.
- 19:17Speaker 4: You gotta go somewhere, sper What is.
- 19:19Speaker 1: The Polish word for sausage?
- 19:22Speaker 4: Oh, my gosh.
- 19:25Speaker 1: The topic is cooking. What is the Polish word for sausage?
- 19:30Speaker 1: Brody thinks he has this one right.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Can I get it somewhat close?
- 19:35Speaker 1: Brody are you polish?
- 19:37Speaker 2: You know what? I got a lot of polish, And
- 19:40Speaker 2: my mom.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Like, how much do you think?
- 19:42Speaker 2: Well, my mom's parents, my grandparents were like full one
- 19:48Speaker 2: generation removed from Ellis Island.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Pressure is on.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I haven't spell like that?
- 19:57Speaker 1: What is the Polish word for sauce? Randall, do you
- 20:02Speaker 1: have this one? Possibly? Okay? Possibly?
- 20:06Speaker 2: My dad used to call my mom's parents a word.
- 20:10Speaker 1: You can't call it. It's not like appropriate to use anymore.
- 20:13Speaker 1: One of my earliest memories of watching ESPN was one
- 20:18Speaker 1: like sports commentator calling another one that word as a drill.
- 20:22Speaker 1: And then and then they came back from commercial and
- 20:24Speaker 1: that guy apologized for saying that on air. I was like, oh,
- 20:27Speaker 1: I didn't you know it would like it washed right
- 20:29Speaker 1: over me. And then when he had to apologize, I
- 20:31Speaker 1: was like, oh, that's a that's a word. Huh.
- 20:34Speaker 5: We're talking about the word a whitefish, whitish.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Yes, it's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 20:46Speaker 1: We have Sat saying kill Bossa, Corey saying kill Bossa,
- 20:50Speaker 1: Tresta saying kill bossa, Randall saying kill Balsa, March saying,
- 20:55Speaker 1: Frank Giannis saying kill Bossa, Hillary and Brody saying and
- 21:00Speaker 1: kill bossa, they got it. The correct answer is killbosa.
- 21:04Speaker 1: If you want to not a spell that, it's k
- 21:06Speaker 1: I E L b A s A. Although there are
- 21:10Speaker 1: many types of Polish sausage, much of the world just
- 21:14Speaker 1: thinks of it as a mild pork sausage when they
- 21:16Speaker 1: hear the word kill bosa. If you want to learn
- 21:19Speaker 1: how to make it with wild game, then check out
- 21:21Speaker 1: Wade Trunk's article on the mediater dot com called Venison
- 21:24Speaker 1: Killbosa recipe. He said he's used the same recipe with beaver, raccoon,
- 21:29Speaker 1: and waterfowl.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I feel like a lot of people say polish killbosa
- 21:33Speaker 2: and it's like.
- 21:34Speaker 5: Yeah, that wasn't sure if that was the word for
- 21:36Speaker 5: sausage or if it was a specialty sausage.
- 21:39Speaker 4: I think if you go to the store and buy
- 21:41Speaker 4: the Hillshire Farms, which is like probably the most common
- 21:46Speaker 4: Polish kilbosa, it is marked as such.
- 21:50Speaker 1: You're just gonna take a sharpion and do some work
- 21:53Speaker 1: for them, crossing out one of the words.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Phil way through no because I don't know it's so
- 22:00Speaker 4: it's not redundant. You're saying Polish sausage. But the word
- 22:05Speaker 4: sausage is in Polish.
- 22:07Speaker 1: You're right, okay, but.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Why would you cross anything You're.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Saying it's Polish? Kilbosses what it says. Yeah, it's like
- 22:15Speaker 1: saying sausage sausage.
- 22:17Speaker 4: No, no, no, I'm sorry.
- 22:18Speaker 1: You're right, Polish.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Sausage, Polish sausage.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, you're right. Phil. You're halfway through the game
- 22:26Speaker 1: of trivia. Give us a scoreboard.
- 22:28Speaker 6: Updates Truss, Hillary and Corey. I'll have one point, Seth
- 22:32Speaker 6: has two points, Brody, Giannis and Maggie have three points apiece,
- 22:36Speaker 6: and in first place is Randall Williams with four points.
- 22:39Speaker 7: Bitch.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Question six, The topic is hunting. What company claims quote
- 22:57Speaker 1: the bolt action rifle was forever changed when they introduced
- 23:01Speaker 1: the ex Bolt in two thousand and eight. What company
- 23:07Speaker 1: claims the bolt action rifle was forever changed when they
- 23:11Speaker 1: introduced the ex bolt in two thousand and eight. Confident
- 23:15Speaker 1: Seth and Randall and Brody I like the gun questions Yanni,
- 23:21Speaker 1: you know this one? Yes, Sir Corey do you know
- 23:23Speaker 1: this one?
- 23:24Speaker 3: I believe so.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Yes.
- 23:25Speaker 1: What company claims the bolt action rifle was forever changed
- 23:29Speaker 1: when they introduced the ex bolt in two thousand and eight,
- 23:32Speaker 1: never owned one, how about you, Randall, mister guntrader.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Yes, I briefly owned an ex Bolt long range in
- 23:42Speaker 5: six y five creed More for a few months. Shot
- 23:45Speaker 5: great shot the Barnes factory won twenty seven dollar X.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Very well.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Set it down the road.
- 23:52Speaker 3: It's a great projectile.
- 23:54Speaker 5: Send it down the road, sold toud guy in Virginia.
- 23:56Speaker 7: I think.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Send it down the road just because you liked to
- 24:00Speaker 4: trade firearms or yes, yeah.
- 24:02Speaker 5: Sort of a it's like a side business. If business
- 24:05Speaker 5: is lost money.
- 24:08Speaker 1: You did what Some people just call it a hobby. Randall, Yeah,
- 24:10Speaker 1: that's true. That's true. Is everybody ready go ahead and
- 24:15Speaker 1: reveal your answers? We have Seth and Corey saying browning.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Tressis saying Reddington, Randall saying browning, Marge without an answer,
- 24:24Speaker 1: Yanni saying browning, Hillary saying Smith, and Wesson, Brody saying browning.
- 24:29Speaker 1: The correct answer is Browning. The rifle got its name
- 24:33Speaker 1: from the pattern formed by the eight screws that fastened
- 24:37Speaker 1: scope mounts to the receiver. Browning calls it the X
- 24:40Speaker 1: block mounting system because, when viewed from above, the screws
- 24:44Speaker 1: positioned at the four corners of each base create an
- 24:48Speaker 1: X question seven. The topic is fishing. What's the electronic
- 24:53Speaker 1: piece of equipment that removes water from the bottom of
- 24:56Speaker 1: a boat's hull? The topic is fishing. What's the electronic
- 25:05Speaker 1: piece of equipment that removes water from the bottom of
- 25:08Speaker 1: a boat's haul? Seth was quick to answer, Seth, have
- 25:12Speaker 1: you ever had a close call where this thing saved you?
- 25:15Speaker 7: Oh?
- 25:15Speaker 3: Yeah, one time put my boat in and put the
- 25:17Speaker 3: plug in.
- 25:18Speaker 1: The same exact thing happened to me. I'd imagine everyone
- 25:20Speaker 1: has a story like that where they realize at some
- 25:23Speaker 1: point there's no plug and then you're like, you gun
- 25:26Speaker 1: the boat, trying to dump water out the back running
- 25:29Speaker 1: this thing.
- 25:30Speaker 3: At one time the different it's at one time backed
- 25:34Speaker 3: my boat. It was very early in the spring, and
- 25:35Speaker 3: all the reservoirs down here in Montana usually pretty low.
- 25:38Speaker 3: I backed my boat and realized that it was like
- 25:41Speaker 3: too shallow to launch my boat, but it was deep
- 25:45Speaker 3: enough to where water can come in my plug because
- 25:50Speaker 3: I again forgot to put it in, and I like
- 25:53Speaker 3: get out and go to look, and I look in
- 25:55Speaker 3: my boat. It's just full of water, and yeah, it's
- 25:59Speaker 3: just another incident.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Fish that day.
- 26:01Speaker 4: Oh yeah, okay, yeah, I ended.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Up having to back like most of my well my
- 26:06Speaker 3: entire vehicle way back in the water. Just yeah, I was.
- 26:10Speaker 4: I was once at the fish shack and was taking
- 26:13Speaker 4: the boat back and it had been raining hard, hard,
- 26:17Speaker 4: and so and it was getting real full, and I
- 26:19Speaker 4: was the one going to put out on the float.
- 26:21Speaker 4: I figured, well, I just pulled the plug and run this,
- 26:24Speaker 4: run the water out of here, you know. So I
- 26:26Speaker 4: pulled it, and I'm just and the boat's kind of
- 26:29Speaker 4: slowing down, and the bows starts to lift up a
- 26:32Speaker 4: little bit, and I'm like, who in the boat just mean,
- 26:35Speaker 4: oh good? And it's like the bows going up, going up,
- 26:40Speaker 4: and I'm like, man, I must have some weird trim
- 26:42Speaker 4: thing going on, you know. So I'm trying to like
- 26:44Speaker 4: adjust the trim. And then I finally noticed that we're
- 26:46Speaker 4: slowing down and there's getting to be more water, and
- 26:49Speaker 4: I'm just I can't. I don't know what to do.
- 26:52Speaker 4: And I'm basically spinning donuts out in the middle of
- 26:54Speaker 4: the cove, full blast, freaking out. And finally it came
- 26:59Speaker 4: to me, just stop and put the plug back in,
- 27:02Speaker 4: you know. But at this point, the water is so
- 27:04Speaker 4: deep I can't see the plug because of course I
- 27:06Speaker 4: just pulled it and just dropped it into the bottom
- 27:08Speaker 4: of the boat, and so I still had to do
- 27:11Speaker 4: that and when I yeah, it's one of the few
- 27:13Speaker 4: times in my life where when that plug finally went
- 27:16Speaker 4: back in and the boat came back to level and
- 27:18Speaker 4: I was just sitting there not sinking, I was very,
- 27:22Speaker 4: very relieved had.
- 27:27Speaker 2: One of these things in that.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Did you tell Steve about it?
- 27:30Speaker 4: Oh? Yeah, It's what's surprising is I was out in
- 27:32Speaker 4: front of you know, many buildings where a lot of people,
- 27:37Speaker 4: nobody saw it go down. I could have just sunk.
- 27:39Speaker 4: The boat would have been swimming.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Wait, so that you didn't have one of these electronic
- 27:44Speaker 1: pieces if you in that.
- 27:45Speaker 4: No, no, these boats don't come with that.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Okay, is everybody ready go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 27:51Speaker 1: We have Seth saying bilge pump, Corey saying bilge pump.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Tresta saying boat pump, Randall saying bilge pump. Marche saying
- 27:59Speaker 1: bilge pump. She drew us some water, Yanni saying bilge pump.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Hillary without an answer, Brody saying bilge pump. The correct
- 28:07Speaker 1: answer is bilge pump. It's believed that the Romans invented
- 28:11Speaker 1: the first bilge pump, which was a hydraulic system made
- 28:15Speaker 1: of bronze. The Romans used this same technology for their
- 28:18Speaker 1: urban water supply, hydraulic mining, irrigation, firefighting, and fish tanks.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Question eight. The topic is gear. This bird, which shares
- 28:30Speaker 1: its same with a backpack company, is sometimes referred to
- 28:34Speaker 1: as a fishhawk. Very confident rooms. Maybe a one hundred
- 28:39Speaker 1: percenter made this one too easy. Yeah, you're just not
- 28:44Speaker 1: making Randall sweat over there. Man, his face is hour
- 28:48Speaker 1: and a half. Uh huh. Does everybody have this one right?
- 28:52Speaker 4: You think must be that furnace quarter zip it is
- 28:56Speaker 4: good installation piece, or that muskox that you're leaning against. Yeah,
- 29:00Speaker 4: it does.
- 29:01Speaker 1: I think it does give off. It radiates a bit
- 29:03Speaker 1: of heat. It's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 29:08Speaker 1: We have every single person saying Osprey and Marge, even
- 29:11Speaker 1: drewis one. The correct answer is Osprey. Osprey was founded
- 29:16Speaker 1: in nineteen seventy four in California, but relocated to Colorado
- 29:21Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety. At one point, ninety percent of its
- 29:24Speaker 1: workforce was made up of members of the Navajo Nation.
- 29:27Speaker 1: The brand got worldwide attention in two thousand and one
- 29:30Speaker 1: when its backpack was shown on a Time magazine cover
- 29:33Speaker 1: featuring the first blind climber to summit Mount Everest. Question nine,
- 29:39Speaker 1: The topic is public lands. This next great question comes
- 29:43Speaker 1: to us via Smith Andrews. Mount Mitchell, Lake Norman, and
- 29:49Speaker 1: Cape Hatteras National Seat Shore are all located in this state.
- 29:56Speaker 1: The topic is public lands. Mount Mitchell, Lake Norman, and
- 30:02Speaker 1: Cape Hatteras National Seashore are all located in this state.
- 30:07Speaker 1: We have a confident Randall and Brody. You boys know
- 30:10Speaker 1: this one with certainty, no guessing on their end. Yanni,
- 30:13Speaker 1: do you know this one pretty sure? Marge? Do you
- 30:17Speaker 1: know this one?
- 30:17Speaker 7: Yes?
- 30:18Speaker 1: Okay? What you are? Are you drawing us the state?
- 30:20Speaker 1: Are you drawing us a mountain?
- 30:22Speaker 7: I don't think I could draw the state?
- 30:23Speaker 1: Okay, Well, there's a little hint.
- 30:25Speaker 4: I guess I could guess.
- 30:28Speaker 7: The only thing you haven't been able to draw Todaymobile.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Ahead, I can guess what, Probably not.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Mount Mitchell, Lake Norman, and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Seth
- 30:46Speaker 1: has yet to come up with an answer. Your other
- 30:50Speaker 1: hint is that Hillary doesn't think she could draw this state.
- 30:54Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Maggie doesn't think she could draw this state. Hillary,
- 30:57Speaker 1: could you draw this state? I'm okay, Cory, do you
- 31:04Speaker 1: have an answer? I do trust do you have an answer?
- 31:06Speaker 1: It's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 31:10Speaker 1: have Sat saying North Carolina. Cory sang New Hampshire. Tressa
- 31:14Speaker 1: sang Maine, Randall sang North Carolina. Marge sang North Carolina.
- 31:19Speaker 1: She drew us a lighthouse. Yanni sang North Carolina. Hillary
- 31:23Speaker 1: sang Massachusetts. Brody sang North Carolina. They got it. The
- 31:27Speaker 1: correct answer is North Carolina. Mount Mitchell is the highest
- 31:32Speaker 1: peak east of the Mississippi River. Lake Norman has hosted
- 31:36Speaker 1: some of the nation's biggest bass fishing tournaments in Cape
- 31:39Speaker 1: Hatteras National Seashore was the first national seashore in the country. Now,
- 31:44Speaker 1: Randall and Brody, which one of those three things gave
- 31:47Speaker 1: you the answer that it was North Carolina or did
- 31:49Speaker 1: you know them all belonged there?
- 31:52Speaker 5: Mount Mitchell and Lake Norman.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Oh, those were the two that gave it to Hatteras
- 31:56Speaker 1: as well.
- 31:57Speaker 5: Okay, so my cousin has a play on Lake Norman,
- 32:01Speaker 5: and I've been to Mitchell cool.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Do you want to talk about that more? No, I'm
- 32:05Speaker 1: done sharing personal information.
- 32:08Speaker 7: Phil.
- 32:09Speaker 1: We have one question left. Give us a leaderboard update.
- 32:14Speaker 6: Well, Tresa, Hillary and Corey are the only people that
- 32:18Speaker 6: are technically technically no longer in the running for the win.
- 32:21Speaker 6: But we've got Seth and Maggie with six points apiece,
- 32:23Speaker 6: Johannis and Brody have seven in first place. Randall with
- 32:27Speaker 6: eight points.
- 32:29Speaker 4: Randall pressure.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Question ten. The topic is conservation.
- 32:35Speaker 4: I feel like Nicky Haley right now?
- 32:39Speaker 1: Does that mean you're gonna drop out of the race.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Is that what's going on?
- 32:43Speaker 3: No?
- 32:44Speaker 4: They were saying how it might be okay to be
- 32:45Speaker 4: in second or third place.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Okay, I get your Question ten. The topic is conservation.
- 32:51Speaker 1: The Nature Conservancy and Disney collaborated for the Keep our
- 32:55Speaker 1: Oceans Amazing campaign in honor of this twenty twenty two
- 33:00Speaker 1: James Cameron sequel. Do you want the name now? You
- 33:03Speaker 1: don't have to If you thought the answer was like
- 33:05Speaker 1: Austin Powers Goldfinger, you don't have to say gold member,
- 33:09Speaker 1: gold member. The spires shagged me. You don't need to
- 33:12Speaker 1: write down Austin Powers gold Member.
- 33:16Speaker 5: Because I can give you the sequel.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Okay, go for it, Kidd, you know this one.

- 33:31Speaker 1: going over here?
- 33:31Speaker 4: Seth mm hmm?
- 33:34Speaker 3: Not good?
- 33:34Speaker 1: Do you know any James Cameron movies?
- 33:37Speaker 6: Probably, but.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Not on the top of my joy? Do you have
- 33:41Speaker 1: this one right?
- 33:42Speaker 3: I don't even know who James Cameron is, believe Are
- 33:45Speaker 3: you kidding me?

- 34:01Speaker 5: twenty three, Spencer, Really, no, it's a plea.
- 34:07Speaker 1: It's a joke about the submersible.

- 35:13Speaker 5: I should have known that as a resident of Illinois
- 35:15Speaker 5: for three years.
- 35:16Speaker 1: As a regular, regular old White Sox fan down there,
- 35:19Speaker 1: you know, and they had such a late deer opener.
- 35:22Speaker 5: I would like this money to go to Colorado's for
- 35:25Speaker 5: responsible wildlife management.
- 35:28Speaker 4: So I'm talking about Randall.
- 35:29Speaker 5: I the last time I won. As soon as I
- 35:33Speaker 5: walked out of here, I opened up my computer and
- 35:35Speaker 5: I thought, there's very important things going in the world
- 35:38Speaker 5: right now, and it it totally slipped my mind last time.
- 35:41Speaker 1: So I made it a.
- 35:42Speaker 5: Point, okay, to remember the state of Colorado and what
- 35:45Speaker 5: they're dealing with at the moment.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Good thing you won right now and not like three
- 35:49Speaker 1: years from now, and maybe they wouldn't have had those
- 35:51Speaker 1: battles going.
- 35:52Speaker 5: If I, if I go three years without winning, be
- 35:56Speaker 5: two years removed from working at this company.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Very good, Thank you too much for me to take.
- 36:01Speaker 1: We have gone a long time though without overtime. I've
