- 0:47Speaker 1: Welcome to today's edition of Reflection on the Word with
- 0:50Speaker 1: Richard K. I'm Chuck Christie, and today we are asking
- 0:54Speaker 1: you to spend a few moments of your time with
- 0:56Speaker 1: us each day as Richard shares from God's work with notes, quotes,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and story along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:02Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:05Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that He has
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. Now, if
- 1:11Speaker 1: you miss a portion of today's broadcast or would like
- 1:13Speaker 1: to recommend it to a friend, you can hear this
- 1:16Speaker 1: program anytime online at Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now
- 1:21Speaker 1: here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Well, folks, welcome back to Reflections on the Word. We
- 1:29Speaker 2: want to be able to continue the exciting experience and
- 1:35Speaker 2: our study in the Nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
- 1:39Speaker 2: We have been blessed to have with us a special guest,
- 1:45Speaker 2: Pastor Maikay l Ashiko. And before we go into the
- 1:51Speaker 2: explanation of his name, I want to be able to
- 1:54Speaker 2: again read the scripture that gives us the basis for
- 2:00Speaker 2: the nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit found in the
- 2:04Speaker 2: Apostle Paul's letter in First Corinthians, chapter twelve and verses
- 2:08Speaker 2: seven through eleven. But the manifestation of the Spirit is
- 2:13Speaker 2: given to each one for the prophet of all. For
- 2:17Speaker 2: to one is given the word of wisdom through the spirit,
- 2:20Speaker 2: to another, the word of knowledge through the same spirit
- 2:24Speaker 2: to another. Faith by the same spirit to another, gifts
- 2:28Speaker 2: of healings by the same spirit to another, the working
- 2:32Speaker 2: of miracles to another, prophecy to another, discerning of spirits
- 2:38Speaker 2: to another, different kinds of tongues to another, the interpretation
- 2:43Speaker 2: of the tongues but one and the same spirit works
- 2:48Speaker 2: all these things, distributing to each one individually as he wills.
- 2:54Speaker 2: And so it's a pleasure to be able to bring
- 2:59Speaker 2: our guest back on the program today, Pastor mikhyle Ishko,
- 3:06Speaker 2: And if you could, Pastor Mikile. Yesterday we talked a
- 3:11Speaker 2: little bit about your background as you were born in
- 3:15Speaker 2: Uganda and then became a missionary from the United Kingdom
- 3:21Speaker 2: and came to the United States, and I believe two
- 3:24Speaker 2: thousand and four and you pastor a church in Virginia Beach,
- 3:30Speaker 2: Virginia called the Miracle and Revival Center, where you and
- 3:35Speaker 2: your wife are pastors there and you have been walking
- 3:41Speaker 2: and living in the power of the Holy Spirit for
- 3:46Speaker 2: I'm sure many many years I understood that your actual
- 3:52Speaker 2: salvation experience came about through the introduction to I'm sure
- 4:01Speaker 2: the power and the manifestation of the gifts of the
- 4:04Speaker 2: Holy Spirit that were demonstrated through a noted evangelist and preacher,
- 4:12Speaker 2: doctor T. L. Osborne. And I remember very early in
- 4:17Speaker 2: my walk with the Lord reading about T. L. Osborne
- 4:23Speaker 2: and his ministry efforts in many of the areas of
- 4:26Speaker 2: the world, and he was especially used of God in
- 4:30Speaker 2: areas of Africa. And I'm certain that it would have
- 4:33Speaker 2: been in those areas, of course, where you were also located.
- 4:38Speaker 2: And so if we can, Pastor, would you take just
- 4:43Speaker 2: a moment and explain to our audience the derivation or meaning,
- 4:49Speaker 2: if you will, of your name Mikhaiel.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Remember Mikayele used the people for the English a version
- 5:00Speaker 3: of it called Michael means who is like the Lord
- 5:06Speaker 3: that he held of the end is God? So who
- 5:10Speaker 3: is like God? That's the meaning of the name. So
- 5:14Speaker 3: my father called me Michael. But what I brew up
- 5:17Speaker 3: I realized that Michael would not give out the real
- 5:21Speaker 3: meaning of the people names, so I changed it to
- 5:25Speaker 3: Mikael and.
- 5:27Speaker 2: With the meaning and correct me if I'm if I'm
- 5:32Speaker 2: wrong in this. But isn't the name in its meaning
- 5:37Speaker 2: actually posing a question rather than a statement? Yes? So,
- 5:44Speaker 2: in other words, great, it is actually saying it's not
- 5:49Speaker 2: saying that you are like God, but it's saying who
- 5:53Speaker 2: is like God? Pointing to the power of God himself. Okay, well,
- 6:02Speaker 2: yesterday our audience was certainly well informed and interested in
- 6:10Speaker 2: some of the experiences that you have had as the
- 6:14Speaker 2: Holy Spirit has used you in mighty ways in areas
- 6:18Speaker 2: of ministry, in the manifestation, specifically in the gifts of
- 6:25Speaker 2: healings and miracles. You gave us an example where a
- 6:31Speaker 2: child was brought to you early in your ministry that
- 6:35Speaker 2: had no eyes. There were just areas on the face
- 6:41Speaker 2: that there was skin that covered, but there were no
- 6:43Speaker 2: eyes that were present. And through not just one time
- 6:49Speaker 2: of praying, I think that you mentioned that it took
- 6:51Speaker 2: four days before there was an opening slit apparently in
- 6:57Speaker 2: the skin, and eyes began to appear, and then you
- 7:01Speaker 2: continued to pray, and finally, over a period of additional days,
- 7:07Speaker 2: this baby was able to have fully formed eyes and
- 7:12Speaker 2: was able to see without any problem. As a result
- 7:15Speaker 2: of that, the baby's father came to know the Lord.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Was that not a true example of what you had shared?
- 7:24Speaker 3: Yes, exactly what I shared.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Okay, Well, as we continued to look at the gifts
- 7:32Speaker 2: of healings, and one of the things that I found
- 7:36Speaker 2: that was a particular interest, especially when you're referring to
- 7:42Speaker 2: something that could be a miraculous manifestation of this gift
- 7:48Speaker 2: you shared in this way that was miraculous that eyes
- 7:53Speaker 2: were actually created in the sockets of where the eyes
- 7:59Speaker 2: should be in order for this baby to be able
- 8:03Speaker 2: to see. There have been other situations that I'm sure
- 8:08Speaker 2: you could share where the Lord has used you in
- 8:13Speaker 2: this area of ministry. And we're focusing on the gifts
- 8:18Speaker 2: of healings not just because of this particular area of ministry,
- 8:25Speaker 2: but because of how it correlates with so much of
- 8:28Speaker 2: the need today. We have people today that are literally
- 8:34Speaker 2: spending fortunes for medical care. And I'm not saying that
- 8:39Speaker 2: medical care in itself is wrong, that's not the issue,
- 8:43Speaker 2: but it is becoming such a tremendous need. There were
- 8:50Speaker 2: people that were ill and sick and afflicted during the
- 8:54Speaker 2: time that Jesus walked the earth, and there are still
- 8:58Speaker 2: people sick, ill and afflicted today, in fact, more so
- 9:05Speaker 2: in many cases because we have discovered many more of
- 9:11Speaker 2: these dreaded diseases now. Of course, I'm sure that medical
- 9:15Speaker 2: science and other things have taken place that help to
- 9:20Speaker 2: be able to find ways to alleviate, but we cannot
- 9:25Speaker 2: in any way ignore that the gifts of healing are
- 9:30Speaker 2: not natural means of being able to do things. It's
- 9:36Speaker 2: amazing to me that in the scripture, and I'm sure
- 9:40Speaker 2: Pastor Michiel you would probably focus on the scriptures that
- 9:46Speaker 2: actually denote healing and examples of healing, and there are
- 9:52Speaker 2: numerous scriptures. I know that there's probably over a hundred
- 9:57Speaker 2: that we could provide to our audience if people would
- 10:01Speaker 2: just want to be able to say, where are those
- 10:04Speaker 2: particular scriptures that say God is in the healing business today?
- 10:10Speaker 2: And we can certainly point them to that. The thing
- 10:14Speaker 2: that I wanted to be able to do with you
- 10:18Speaker 2: in this segment is to allow our audience to have
- 10:23Speaker 2: an opportunity to hear again some of the ways that
- 10:28Speaker 2: the Lord is using you and sure others that you
- 10:32Speaker 2: have trained in church planting in other areas of ministry
- 10:37Speaker 2: to function in the operation of the gifts of the
- 10:42Speaker 2: Holy Spirit. And since we've been talking about the gifts
- 10:47Speaker 2: of healings and certainly gifts of miracles, and we did
- 10:50Speaker 2: discuss that some of these gifts function in conjunction with
- 10:55Speaker 2: each other. The gift of faith may be utilized in
- 10:59Speaker 2: a special way for a miracle to occur. Jesus demonstrated
- 11:07Speaker 2: by the power of the Holy Spirit when there was
- 11:10Speaker 2: a man that had been blind and he called out
- 11:13Speaker 2: to him, as you can recall in scripture, he said, Jesus,
- 11:18Speaker 2: son of David, have mercy on me. Jesus was just
- 11:23Speaker 2: passing by on his journey to another area, and this
- 11:29Speaker 2: man called out. He was blind, and yet it was
- 11:33Speaker 2: revealed to him that Jesus could impart to him healing.
- 11:38Speaker 2: And when Jesus saw this, he came back to the
- 11:42Speaker 2: man and he asked him what it was that he
- 11:46Speaker 2: wanted to have done, and he said he wanted his sight,
- 11:51Speaker 2: and Jesus performed a miraculous healing for that particular man.
- 12:00Speaker 2: There have been cases where what he did was exemplified
- 12:04Speaker 2: by using sometimes natural means in order to cause the
- 12:10Speaker 2: individual to do something that was other than just receiving immediately.
- 12:17Speaker 2: In one case, he actually did some spittle on the
- 12:25Speaker 2: ground and he picked up the moist dirt and he
- 12:30Speaker 2: rubbed it into the individual's eyes. And who would have
- 12:36Speaker 2: thought that you could have taken mud, if you will,
- 12:40Speaker 2: and put it on somebody's eyes and that would bring
- 12:43Speaker 2: about sight. But we're not to question how the Lord
- 12:47Speaker 2: would use a particular means to bring about healing. So,
- 12:51Speaker 2: Pastor Michael, can we getting back to some of the
- 12:56Speaker 2: experiences that you and i''m sure that your wife have
- 12:59Speaker 2: shared in ministering to individuals. I know that you said
- 13:05Speaker 2: that in many cases you have been drawn to people
- 13:08Speaker 2: that have hearing deficiencies. As we mentioned that the Lord
- 13:12Speaker 2: used you in being able to provide healing in my
- 13:16Speaker 2: case and I no longer have to wear hearing aids.
- 13:19Speaker 2: But are there other areas that you have found that
- 13:24Speaker 2: the Lord has used you in a way of being
- 13:27Speaker 2: able to bring about miraculous healings or healings to either
- 13:34Speaker 2: believers or non believers and the end result is that
- 13:38Speaker 2: they are closer to the Lord Jesus.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Well, all of the areas that caught us use my
- 13:45Speaker 3: wife and I to bring healing to people whose those
- 13:51Speaker 3: who are HIV AIDS. It started when we forestart this
- 13:55Speaker 3: sign in the United Kingdom. It came to us it
- 13:59Speaker 3: was HIV age and we had a family prayer every
- 14:04Speaker 3: evening with him, and so in need would After two
- 14:09Speaker 3: and a half years, by the time he was going back,
- 14:12Speaker 3: I took him to the doctors for the check up
- 14:14Speaker 3: and they found out that he was HIV negative and
- 14:19Speaker 3: the doctors were trying to see if they could use
- 14:22Speaker 3: him for the study purpose. And I remember telling the
- 14:25Speaker 3: doctor that the only way your studies can have the
- 14:29Speaker 3: same results with this young man like this young man,
- 14:33Speaker 3: is if you include prayer in the start of your study.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Without prayer, you will not receive the same results. And
- 14:41Speaker 4: then you, guys, we have the numbers of people that
- 14:44Speaker 4: we prayed for that were also HIV as that they
- 14:47Speaker 4: went back to the doctors and they checked themselves and
- 14:50Speaker 4: now they are negative. So that's one of the areas
- 14:53Speaker 4: that we have seen results as well.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Let me ask you just for clarification. If some one
- 15:00Speaker 2: has AIDS or HIV, which is I'm sure the the diagnosis,
- 15:08Speaker 2: and they have a positive UH diagnosis, does that mean
- 15:15Speaker 2: they have AIDS or is it negative diagnosis that says
- 15:19Speaker 2: they have AIDS.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Diagnosis is one to say that they have ages of
- 15:24Speaker 3: those aid is a developed stage of HIV. HIV positive
- 15:28Speaker 3: means you have the virus.
- 15:30Speaker 5: But once you have once you're developed to age. That
- 15:34Speaker 5: is the latest, the latest stage of HIV.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Okay, And and for our audience benefit as well as
- 15:44Speaker 2: for our benefit, there is no known medical cure for
- 15:53Speaker 2: HIV AIDS. Is that correct?
- 15:56Speaker 3: Not that enough?
- 15:57Speaker 2: Okay? So, and in individual or those people that are
- 16:02Speaker 2: affected by HIV AIDS, they have a very debilitating life,
- 16:11Speaker 2: however limited that it may be, and there's nothing other
- 16:17Speaker 2: than trying to make them more comfortable, help them to
- 16:25Speaker 2: live for whatever length of time as the disease progresses.
- 16:29Speaker 2: So AIDS obviously affects many, many people, and in fact
- 16:36Speaker 2: it's in epidemic proportions in many parts of the world.
- 16:41Speaker 2: As I know you stated it was in the area
- 16:45Speaker 2: in Africa and many areas where AIDS has been so
- 16:51Speaker 2: much more prevalent. So in this area, how is it
- 16:58Speaker 2: that the Lord used you through prayer? And was this
- 17:05Speaker 2: something again that the people went through a process and
- 17:10Speaker 2: it became a recovery or was this also in a
- 17:16Speaker 2: miraculous healing area?
- 17:20Speaker 5: It studied at bit I was back in Africa and
- 17:24Speaker 5: spending time in praying fasting with the group of people.
- 17:28Speaker 3: And so those that were praying and fasting with us
- 17:31Speaker 3: or they just.
- 17:31Speaker 5: Laid hand on them and told them to go.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Back to the doctors and check.
- 17:35Speaker 5: And so when they went back and.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Checked that the doctors had verified that they were.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Negative, which means they no longer had HIV AIDS. No, okay.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Is it also true that age can be transmitted from
- 17:52Speaker 2: a parent to a child, Yes, like an unborn child.
- 17:58Speaker 2: A pregnant mother that had as age can give AIDS
- 18:02Speaker 2: to their unborn child.
- 18:05Speaker 5: Yes, But to these days, what the doctors have discovered
- 18:08Speaker 5: is that when they do a sea section to a
- 18:11Speaker 5: mother who is HIV positive, they do a seed section,
- 18:15Speaker 5: then they can prevent the baby from having the virus.
- 18:20Speaker 5: So the plans of the virus can be stopped when
- 18:23Speaker 5: they do.
- 18:25Speaker 3: A sea section for the take the baby out so
- 18:28Speaker 3: the mother. If the mother gives naturally, then there's a
- 18:32Speaker 3: chance that the baby will have the virus.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I see. So the blood stream is what is affected,
- 18:42Speaker 2: and if they go through the birth canal, there's more
- 18:46Speaker 2: of a prevalence that they are going to contract the virus,
- 18:49Speaker 2: whereas if they go through a cesarean section, they're actually
- 18:56Speaker 2: less likely to have or may not be affected by
- 19:01Speaker 2: the virus. Well, that's an amazing thing. But even more
- 19:04Speaker 2: amazing is that a diagnosis which is positive, that means
- 19:10Speaker 2: that the individual does have HIV AIDS. After prayer and
- 19:17Speaker 2: the gifts of healings, operating as the Holy Spirit directs,
- 19:23Speaker 2: the individuals are actually AIDS free. That is a wonderful,
- 19:29Speaker 2: wonderful testimony in our closing element today, Pastor Mikael, I
- 19:39Speaker 2: would just be privileged to ask you, perhaps there's someone
- 19:44Speaker 2: in our audience that is experiencing an illness or an affliction,
- 19:50Speaker 2: something that they have tried, perhaps going through medicine, or
- 19:56Speaker 2: maybe they've not been able to receive any kind of
- 20:00Speaker 2: medical result. We believe that God heals today. We believe
- 20:08Speaker 2: that he is the healer, and he chooses to use
- 20:12Speaker 2: whatever method that he wants to. He can use doctors
- 20:17Speaker 2: if he chooses to. He can also use miraculous means,
- 20:22Speaker 2: or he can use prayer and intercession of those believers
- 20:28Speaker 2: who have the faith which is given to them in
- 20:32Speaker 2: many cases as an operation of the Holy Spirit. So
- 20:35Speaker 2: Pastor Macott, would you lead us in a prayer for
- 20:39Speaker 2: those people perhaps in our audience, that are suffering, that
- 20:44Speaker 2: are afflicted, that have illness, or that have an area
- 20:48Speaker 2: that they are just not able to have a relief.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Richard will be right back in a moment to wrap up.
- 20:57Speaker 1: But if you've just joined us, you've been listening to
- 20:59Speaker 1: Reflections on the Word with Richard Ka, you can hear
- 21:02Speaker 1: this message in its entirety again online as well as
- 21:05Speaker 1: Richard's entire archive at Talknetwork Radio dot com. We would
- 21:10Speaker 1: like to acknowledge our theme song, how Great Is Thy
- 21:13Speaker 1: Faithfulness from the America's twenty five Favorite Hymns album, unless otherwise.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Express scriptures are read from the Holman Christian Standard Bible,
- 21:23Speaker 1: which is published by Homan Bible Publishers in Nashville, Tennessee.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Additional resources used for Reflections on the Word with Richard
- 21:30Speaker 1: K include Great Is Thy Faithfulness by Our Daily Bread
- 21:34Speaker 1: and printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again, here is Richard
- 21:38Speaker 1: to wrap up today's message.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Or I don't want to use the word cure, but
- 21:46Speaker 2: I would say that they would certainly want to be healed,
- 21:52Speaker 2: and so could you lead us in that prayer?
- 21:54Speaker 5: Pastor Mikail sure, let me talk first to those who
- 22:01Speaker 5: are listening.
- 22:03Speaker 3: If you have an ailment in your body, I like
- 22:07Speaker 3: you to take one of your hands and lay it
- 22:10Speaker 3: on that part of the body that is sick. It
- 22:13Speaker 3: is your knee. Puts your right hand on your knee,
- 22:17Speaker 3: it is your name.
- 22:18Speaker 5: Puts your right.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Hand on your neck, is your Put your right hand
- 22:22Speaker 3: on your back, whatever.
- 22:23Speaker 5: Part of your body that is sick, because the scripture
- 22:26Speaker 5: say they shall lay their hand on the.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Sick, and the sick shall recover.
- 22:31Speaker 5: So once you laid your hand less way, Father, in
- 22:36Speaker 5: the name of Jesus, well, thank you, because you are
- 22:40Speaker 5: the healer. The Bible says you are the same yesterday,
- 22:44Speaker 5: today and forever.
- 22:46Speaker 3: Lord. I speak to whatever.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Ailment the people are going through right now, I speak
- 22:52Speaker 5: hearing to those who are suffering from hearing loss. In
- 22:56Speaker 5: the name of Jesus. Have we build the spirit of deafness?
- 23:01Speaker 5: And I command you to take your hands up right now.
- 23:04Speaker 5: In Jesus' name, Father, I bind up the spirit of
- 23:08Speaker 5: infamity from the body, from the neck, from the knees,
- 23:12Speaker 5: from the back, from every part of their bodies. In
- 23:15Speaker 5: the name of Jesus. Father, those who need new organs,
- 23:20Speaker 5: new kidneys, new arts, new livers, new brodders, whatever part
- 23:26Speaker 5: of their body they need. Those who need new lives,
- 23:29Speaker 5: I pray for creative miracs right now in the name
- 23:33Speaker 5: of Jesus only spirit, I ask you to glorify Jesus
- 23:38Speaker 5: through all the lives of all the individuals that are
- 23:40Speaker 5: listening to this program right now. We thank you and
- 23:43Speaker 5: we'll blessed because we know it is done in Jesus,
- 23:47Speaker 5: and we pray.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Amen.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Amen. Thank you so much, Pastor Michiel. You have been
- 23:54Speaker 2: such a blessing to me and to i'm sure our audience,
- 23:58Speaker 2: and we would certainly be privileged to have you back
- 24:02Speaker 2: as a guest sometime in the very near future. Well, folks,
- 24:07Speaker 2: we have been able to experience something of a tremendous excitement,
- 24:14Speaker 2: and I'm sure that it makes us want to tread
- 24:18Speaker 2: deeper with the Lord. It makes us want to desire
- 24:24Speaker 2: spiritual gifts, not so that we can possess, but that
- 24:29Speaker 2: God can possess us and use us for his glory.
- 24:35Speaker 2: And that is today's reflection on the Work.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Thank you, Richard. Join us again tomorrow when we continue
- 24:43Speaker 1: with the next edition of Reflections on the Work with
- 24:46Speaker 1: Richard King Or Richard, the retire team. This is Chuck
- 24:49Speaker 1: Christy saying thanks for listening to this edition of Reflections on.
- 24:53Speaker 5: The Work.
