- 0:47Speaker 1: Welcome to today's edition of Reflection on the Word with
- 0:50Speaker 1: Richard K. I'm Chuck Christie, and today we are asking
- 0:53Speaker 1: you to spend a few moments of your time with
- 0:55Speaker 1: us each day as Richard shares from God's work with notes, quotes,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and stories along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:02Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:05Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that He has
- 1:07Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. In Lamentations
- 1:11Speaker 1: Chapter three, verses twenty two and twenty three, we read,
- 1:16Speaker 1: because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed,
- 1:19Speaker 1: for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Great is your faithfulness. Now, if you miss a portion
- 1:26Speaker 1: of today's broadcast or would like to recommend it to
- 1:29Speaker 1: a friend, you can hear this program anytime online at
- 1:32Speaker 1: Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:40Speaker 2: In our previous segment, we close with a passage that
- 1:46Speaker 2: we were going to discuss where we have been told
- 1:52Speaker 2: that we are already seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I want to read the scripture that says this is
- 2:04Speaker 2: why since I heard about your faith in the Lord
- 2:07Speaker 2: Jesus and your love for all the saints. I never
- 2:11Speaker 2: stop giving thanks for you. As I remember you in
- 2:15Speaker 2: my prayers. I pray that the God of our Lord,
- 2:19Speaker 2: Jesus Christ, the Glorious Father, would give you a spirit
- 2:24Speaker 2: of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. I
- 2:28Speaker 2: pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened,
- 2:32Speaker 2: so that you may know what is the hope of
- 2:34Speaker 2: his calling, What are the glorious riches of his inheritance
- 2:39Speaker 2: among the saints, And what is the immeasurable greatness of
- 2:44Speaker 2: his power to us who believe according to the working
- 2:48Speaker 2: of his vast strength. He demonstrated this power in the
- 2:53Speaker 2: Messiah by raising him from the dead and seating him
- 2:59Speaker 2: at his head right hand in the heavens, far above
- 3:03Speaker 2: every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every title
- 3:09Speaker 2: given not only in this age, but also in the
- 3:12Speaker 2: one to come. And he put everything under his feet
- 3:18Speaker 2: and appointed him as head over everything for the Church,
- 3:23Speaker 2: which is his body, the fullness of the One who
- 3:27Speaker 2: fills all things in every way. And you were dead
- 3:34Speaker 2: in your traspasses and sins in which you previously walked
- 3:39Speaker 2: according to this worldly age. According to the ruler of
- 3:44Speaker 2: the atmospheric domain, the spirit now working in the disobediate.
- 3:50Speaker 2: We two all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires,
- 3:56Speaker 2: carrying out the inclinations of our flesh, and and by
- 4:01Speaker 2: nature we were children under rap, as the others were also.
- 4:07Speaker 2: But God, who is abundant in mercy, because of his
- 4:11Speaker 2: great love that he had for us, made us alive
- 4:15Speaker 2: with the Messiah, even though we were dead in trespasses.
- 4:21Speaker 2: By grace you are saved. He also raised us up
- 4:27Speaker 2: with him and seated us with him in the heavens
- 4:33Speaker 2: in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he
- 4:38Speaker 2: might display the immeasurable riches of his grace in his
- 4:44Speaker 2: kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you
- 4:49Speaker 2: are saved through faith. And this is not from yourselves.
- 4:54Speaker 2: It is God's gift, not from works, so that no
- 4:58Speaker 2: one can vote. For we are His creation, created in
- 5:04Speaker 2: Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of
- 5:10Speaker 2: time so that we should walk. And then that is
- 5:16Speaker 2: from Ephesians chapter one, beginning with verse fifteen and continuing
- 5:25Speaker 2: through chapter two unto verse ten. It is a long reading,
- 5:33Speaker 2: but it is applicable to our study, because this is
- 5:39Speaker 2: a performance of and confirmation for the power of the
- 5:47Speaker 2: Holy Spirit. What was it about this particular Holy Spirit
- 5:54Speaker 2: power that was so vital in the Christian life? Why
- 6:02Speaker 2: is it so vital to us as believers today? Well,
- 6:07Speaker 2: the reasons are numerous, but I offer to you the
- 6:13Speaker 2: very first example was that the power of the Holy
- 6:19Speaker 2: Spirit raised Jesus from the dead. Now, it is important
- 6:26Speaker 2: for us to understand that he raised Jesus from the dead,
- 6:32Speaker 2: but he also raised us from the dead as well.
- 6:38Speaker 2: And you might say, how is this accomplished. Well, Jesus
- 6:45Speaker 2: actually is in the vast of the heavenlyes. He sent
- 6:53Speaker 2: the Holy Spirit so that he.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Could dwell us and that he could help us as
- 7:03Speaker 3: we continue the work of ministry here on the earth.
- 7:09Speaker 2: At this time. And so this is something that is mysterious,
- 7:17Speaker 2: but it is true. We are already seated with Christ
- 7:24Speaker 2: Jesus in the heavenlies, but we are also here on
- 7:32Speaker 2: this earthly plane. Now, I don't want us to become confused,
- 7:39Speaker 2: because confusion is not of the Lord. We know that
- 7:44Speaker 2: this wisdom is exactly what the apostle Paul was speaking
- 7:51Speaker 2: about when he said that I pray that the Lord
- 7:59Speaker 2: Jesus Christ, the Glorious Father, would give you a spirit
- 8:04Speaker 2: of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. And
- 8:09Speaker 2: I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened,
- 8:13Speaker 2: so that you may know what is the hope of
- 8:16Speaker 2: his calling, What are the glorious richest of his inheritance
- 8:20Speaker 2: among the saints, And what is the immeasurable greatness of
- 8:25Speaker 2: his power to us who believe according to the working
- 8:31Speaker 2: of his vast strength. Another version of the scripture says,
- 8:38Speaker 2: according to the working of this mighty power, now it
- 8:44Speaker 2: is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead
- 8:49Speaker 2: and seated him at the right hand of God, the
- 8:53Speaker 2: Father in the heavens, where he rules far above every
- 9:00Speaker 2: power and dominion, every title that's given. Because the scripture says,
- 9:07Speaker 2: there's no other name under heaven that man can be saved.
- 9:14Speaker 2: It has to be through Jesus, the precious Son of God.
- 9:21Speaker 2: But then he goes further and he states, we who
- 9:26Speaker 2: were dead in our TransPasses in sins. We walked according
- 9:31Speaker 2: to the world's and the world's methods. But now the
- 9:36Speaker 2: Spirit of God has brought us into the same position
- 9:44Speaker 2: as Christ Jesus, because we are in Him, and He
- 9:50Speaker 2: is in us. Because of this, he also raised us
- 9:56Speaker 2: up with him and seated us with him in the
- 10:02Speaker 2: heavens now that is found in Ephesians chapter two and
- 10:09Speaker 2: verses six and seven following, so that in the coming
- 10:16Speaker 2: ages he might display the immeasurable riches of his grace
- 10:22Speaker 2: in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. It is important, believers,
- 10:31Speaker 2: that we understand it is not that we have achieved
- 10:37Speaker 2: a great position in God. It is by the grace
- 10:42Speaker 2: of God that we are elevated, if you will to
- 10:49Speaker 2: the same physician. Now we're not talking about becoming God.
- 10:55Speaker 2: We're talking about the authority that is rendered from the heavens.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Do you remember when we spoke about Jesus in his
- 11:09Speaker 2: instruction for the model of prayer, he said that we
- 11:14Speaker 2: are to pray on earth this way our Father, which
- 11:21Speaker 2: is in heaven, he is to be hallowed. He's holy.
- 11:27Speaker 2: But also we are asking that His kingdom comes to
- 11:34Speaker 2: this earth, so that the work that is performed here
- 11:40Speaker 2: will glorify him. And this is the reason that Jesus said,
- 11:48Speaker 2: you will do greater works than these that I have done,
- 11:54Speaker 2: because now empowered by the Holy Spirit and be tremendous
- 12:02Speaker 2: movement of the performance of the gospel. Remember, I said,
- 12:08Speaker 2: the performance of the gospel. You see, in the early
- 12:14Speaker 2: Christian Church, the performance of the Gospel was the life
- 12:20Speaker 2: changing evidence that Jesus was definitely alive. Is it not
- 12:29Speaker 2: the same today? Hebrews chapter thirteen and verse eight says,
- 12:37Speaker 2: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus
- 12:44Speaker 2: has not changed, and the Holy Spirit has not changed.
- 12:49Speaker 2: So why have we changed? I offered this as a observation.
- 12:57Speaker 2: First of all, in the early Church, the experience demonstrated
- 13:03Speaker 2: that the Holy Spirit was in control was actually effected
- 13:08Speaker 2: in many examples. We talked about in earlier segments how
- 13:15Speaker 2: someone who was a follower actually conspired to lie to
- 13:23Speaker 2: the apostles who were filled with the Holy Spirit, and
- 13:29Speaker 2: so the Holy Spirit gave the knowledge that this was
- 13:34Speaker 2: in fact untrue, and because of that the demonstration was severe.
- 13:43Speaker 2: It was not just well, we will look at that
- 13:47Speaker 2: and see how we can condition you for service in
- 13:52Speaker 2: some time in the future. No, the Holy Spirit was
- 13:58Speaker 2: very strong in dealing with those who conspired to lie,
- 14:05Speaker 2: and because of that, they died right on the spot.
- 14:10Speaker 2: They dropped dead in front of all the other observers. Now,
- 14:18Speaker 2: if you want to have a startling church service, begin
- 14:24Speaker 2: a service with that type of demonstration, and I can
- 14:29Speaker 2: virtually assure you that there are going to be many
- 14:33Speaker 2: people who will come under the fear of the Lord.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Richard will be right back in a moment to wrap up.
- 14:42Speaker 1: But if you've just joined us, you've been listening to

- 15:20Speaker 1: and printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again, here is Richard
- 15:24Speaker 1: to wrap up today's message.
- 15:29Speaker 2: You see today, believers, there is not a lot of
- 15:33Speaker 2: preaching about the fear of the Lord, and yet the
- 15:38Speaker 2: scripture tells us that the beginning of wisdom is the
- 15:45Speaker 2: fear of the Lord. It is also something that is
- 15:51Speaker 2: stated that it is a terrible thing to fall into
- 15:57Speaker 2: the hands of and awesome God. That's a terrible thing.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Why because He has the ability to move us and
- 16:13Speaker 2: place us wherever he chooses. You see, Believer, one of
- 16:20Speaker 2: the things that we have got to understand is that
- 16:26Speaker 2: we are already in Christ. If he is living in us,
- 16:34Speaker 2: we are seated with him above all principality, power and authority,
- 16:42Speaker 2: because it says he has placed all things under his feet.
- 16:48Speaker 2: But he is the head of the body, and believer,
- 16:53Speaker 2: you and I are the body. And so because he
- 16:58Speaker 2: has accomplished this by the power of the Holy Spirit,
- 17:04Speaker 2: we are then able to be seated with him in
- 17:10Speaker 2: the heavenlys and functional here on this earthly plane. It
- 17:18Speaker 2: is important for us to recognize that this authority is
- 17:25Speaker 2: not given lightly. It is for us to do the
- 17:32Speaker 2: work of ministry that He commissioned us to complete. And
- 17:39Speaker 2: that is today's reflection on the work.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Thank you, Richard. Join us again tomorrow when we continue
- 17:48Speaker 1: with the next edition of Reflections on the Work For
