- 0:52Speaker 3: Hi everybody, Hello, how are you?
- 0:56Speaker 1: Bud? I feeling good. I feel like we're gonna be
- 0:58Speaker 1: silly tonight. It's a silly night. It is a silly night.
- 1:03Speaker 3: It's a silly movie we're gonna be talking about.
- 1:04Speaker 1: So that's true. It does fit in. It is Sophie's
- 1:09Speaker 1: choice and.
- 1:12Speaker 3: A film I've never seen because I know, yeah, same,
- 1:16Speaker 3: I'm just like I don't. I've read it's horrible. I
- 1:21Speaker 3: think I told you that my mom had gotten that
- 1:24Speaker 3: recommendation when she was living in Berlin with me and
- 1:30Speaker 3: my dad. Obviously, and it was like somebody in her
- 1:33Speaker 3: building was like, oh, I just saw the most amazing movie.
- 1:37Speaker 3: And she she can't handle those kind of movies.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I know. She so a sweet tender heart, and she's
- 1:44Speaker 1: just like, why would you do?
- 1:47Speaker 3: She was not friends with them. After that, She's like.
- 1:52Speaker 1: With all the love of my heart for you, and
- 1:54Speaker 1: don't ever talk to me, never, certainly never getting a
- 1:58Speaker 1: movie recommendation at the very Oh, that's so funny. Funny,
- 2:05Speaker 1: it's funny, what a terrible it'd be like. Go see
- 2:09Speaker 1: The Iron Claw, really uplifting. If you like Rest, you
- 2:13Speaker 1: will love this film. I told you I just saw
- 2:16Speaker 1: it a few weeks ago.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Yeah you did, because when you said that, I instantly
- 2:20Speaker 4: felt that like old sweat feeling again where I was
- 2:24Speaker 4: just like, I know it was really good, but never, no.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Please, such a horrific story. Man, I'd like.
- 2:29Speaker 1: To never think about it again. If it all you know,
- 2:32Speaker 1: it's for realk. Yeah. AnyWho, how are you doing, Bud?
- 2:37Speaker 3: I'm doing good, you know, nothing nothing too crazy to report,
- 2:41Speaker 3: just kind of we're finishing up our album, so I've
- 2:44Speaker 3: been working pretty hard this last week.
- 2:47Speaker 1: We've been doing a.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Lot of that and now I have my home recording
- 2:51Speaker 3: studio look at you, which is crazy. It's been really
- 2:55Speaker 3: nice because they're just like a little Darren is going
- 2:59Speaker 3: through through all of the tracks currently and like it's like, oh, hey,
- 3:04Speaker 3: we missed this one thing on this just a little
- 3:07Speaker 3: way easier for those little pick up things exactly. So
- 3:10Speaker 3: like I knocked out three different things at three separate
- 3:14Speaker 3: times today. Baby, that would have been a drive, you know,
- 3:18Speaker 3: a half hour away, you know. But yeah, also it's
- 3:23Speaker 3: getting close. It's exciting.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I may not have heard a little snippet or two. Okay,
- 3:31Speaker 1: And who's that chatting with? That sent Tim I was
- 3:34Speaker 1: chatting with the other night. We're nice chatting Owan. He
- 3:37Speaker 1: sent me a couple of things and boy, howdie gang,
- 3:40Speaker 1: you're gonna like, yeah, there's movie and stuff. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:44Speaker 1: super excited for it. It'll be fun. And who would
- 3:47Speaker 1: have thought, you know, I would have thought, yeah, yeah,
- 3:51Speaker 1: I mean we can't really I thought of that after
- 3:55Speaker 1: I said, who would have thought? Who would have thought you,
- 3:58Speaker 1: of all people, would be on an alb I'm not
- 4:00Speaker 1: me certainly, is what I was obviously gonna. Let's go
- 4:04Speaker 1: away from this, Rob. I have you seen any movies
- 4:06Speaker 1: because I'm nervous now.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Yes, yes, I have seen a movie and I actually
- 4:10Speaker 3: used your recommendation oh tell me more, And it wasn't
- 4:15Speaker 3: a Sophie's choice situation. I really really liked it. It
- 4:20Speaker 3: is the movie companion Oh yeah, fun movie, fun movie,
- 4:25Speaker 3: and it features Jack Quade and Harvey Gean. You said
- 4:28Speaker 3: that when you were talking about it. Yes, I wasn't
- 4:30Speaker 3: familiar with the other folks really, but they.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Were all good. The one gals from Yellow Jackets. That's
- 4:35Speaker 1: what I know her from, right, and I have seen.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Another guy anyway. Sorry, Yes, but pretty fun movie and
- 4:44Speaker 3: it was fun going into it not knowing much about it. Absolutely,
- 4:49Speaker 3: I would recommend watching it that way. The one thing
- 4:53Speaker 3: that you can get from is that it's about a
- 4:55Speaker 3: weekend getaway with some friends at a remote house. Crazy
- 5:00Speaker 3: things go down, kind of a dark comedy, a thriller,
- 5:05Speaker 3: horror aspects to it is like a lot like just
- 5:08Speaker 3: like a horrible a sprinkle for I feel like, yeah, yeah,
- 5:13Speaker 3: So I ended up really liking it. I thought it
- 5:15Speaker 3: was fun and it was kind of a different role
- 5:19Speaker 3: for jack Quaid that I've seen him do.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Agreed, still entertained, he's funny, He's just a funny guy.
- 5:27Speaker 3: He's funny even when uh, maybe he's not supposed to
- 5:30Speaker 3: be real funny. Yeah, agreed, he kind of a MEMI.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Yeah, he's affable, I think is the right word. That's
- 5:36Speaker 1: a good word. I think what that means. But it
- 5:39Speaker 1: feels right. It feels good, feels right. It's part of
- 5:42Speaker 1: my affable personality that I just say words without knowing
- 5:46Speaker 1: what they could mean. In coherence.
- 5:50Speaker 3: You are low quacious.
- 5:52Speaker 1: God, that's a good one. That's a good one.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Sense.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I tried to put coherence in there, but it kind
- 5:57Speaker 1: of made sense. I was trying to think of another
- 5:59Speaker 1: word that didn't make any anyhow. I've also seen a movie,
- 6:02Speaker 1: thank you for asking I had.
- 6:04Speaker 3: I didn't, but I was going.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I know it's because I was just talking forever.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Oh, for people who are interested, it's it's only available
- 6:11Speaker 3: to rent currently when nice we're recording this, but it
- 6:14Speaker 3: might be on a streaming service who knows companion.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm surprised it's not already, to be honest, So yeah,
- 6:19Speaker 1: I'm should be.
- 6:21Speaker 3: It's rentable on Apple.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I did another rental one as well. I
- 6:26Speaker 1: saw a movie called My Dead Friend Zoe. I just
- 6:30Speaker 1: saw a thing for this. Yeah, yeah, I hadn't seen anything.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Tell me about it.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I saw I saw the trailer for it before something,
- 6:39Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, intrigued a little bit. This
- 6:42Speaker 1: features Sonica Martin Green is her name. She's penning a
- 6:48Speaker 1: number of things. She was in The Walking Walking Dead,
- 6:51Speaker 1: I remember, since Star Trek I think at one point, yeah,
- 6:55Speaker 1: like a new version of it, just the show version.
- 6:59Speaker 1: But the one discovery I think is I'm not a Trecky.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I don't remember. But she's been in a ton of
- 7:05Speaker 1: stuff over the years. She's really great in this. And
- 7:09Speaker 1: it also features uh, what is her name, Natalie Morales?
- 7:14Speaker 3: Natalie Morales.
- 7:15Speaker 1: She's been in a few things. She was Tom's lady
- 7:18Speaker 1: friend in Parks and rec if people remember that, which
- 7:21Speaker 1: wasn't a very big part, but and shows. She's been
- 7:25Speaker 1: in legit movies. Yeah, she's been in stuff quite a bit.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I feel like too. But anyway, this is all the
- 7:30Speaker 1: story about my dead friend Zoe, and Zoe is Natalie Morales.
- 7:37Speaker 1: They were best friends in the Army. Something happened where
- 7:41Speaker 1: she didn't you know, she didn't make it back, and
- 7:43Speaker 1: it's all about you know, her friend's life back here
- 7:46Speaker 1: kind of trying to deal with that and then deal
- 7:48Speaker 1: with some other stuff that's in it. Ed Harris is
- 7:52Speaker 1: also in this movie and is wonderful in it. It's
- 7:56Speaker 1: really really good man.
- 7:57Speaker 3: It isn't Morgan Morgan Freeman.
- 7:59Speaker 1: He was the other way. Yes, yes, yes, Because I
- 8:02Speaker 1: looked it up, I was like, Damn, Morgan Freeman looks great.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Ed Harris looks a little rough, and I was like,
- 8:08Speaker 1: Ed Harris is a decade younger than Morgan Freeman. That
- 8:10Speaker 1: doesn't see easy. Really, it's almost a decade, which is
- 8:14Speaker 1: pretty wow. They both look old, don't get me wrong,
- 8:17Speaker 1: but yeah, Morgan still looks really great all things considered,
- 8:21Speaker 1: because he's eighty seven, I think. Is what I read now, Wow,
- 8:24Speaker 1: just nuts uh, really great film. Obviously, it's got a
- 8:30Speaker 1: lot of drama to it, you know, because he's dealing
- 8:32Speaker 1: with stuff that's not you know, super uplifting all the time.
- 8:35Speaker 1: But it's also really funny and very heart touching. I
- 8:39Speaker 1: really enjoyed it way more than I thought I would.
- 8:42Speaker 1: It's an hour forty minutes, I think, so it's a
- 8:46Speaker 1: it's a nice short, little love that uplifting film has
- 8:50Speaker 1: something to say, says it. I really liked it.
- 8:52Speaker 3: A lot.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I thought it was really really great and I can't
- 8:55Speaker 1: recommend it enough. It is, but I assume it will
- 8:58Speaker 1: be on a streamer. I don't know who made it though,
- 9:01Speaker 1: so I don't know which one. But keep an eye out,
- 9:04Speaker 1: my dead friend, Zoe. I think you'll really like it
- 9:06Speaker 1: for sure. Yeah, it's a great film, really fun. I'll
- 9:10Speaker 1: check it out. Yeah, yeah, for sure. I've even streaming
- 9:13Speaker 1: anything I have.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Thank you for asking. The white load of Season three
- 9:18Speaker 3: finale just went down this weekend.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I haven't watched that at all.
- 9:23Speaker 3: It was a crazy finale. And when I brought it
- 9:28Speaker 3: up before, I mentioned some of the actors he had
- 9:30Speaker 3: Walton Goggins, Michelle Monaghan, Carrie Coon, Jason Isaac's Parker Posey.
- 9:38Speaker 3: She's kind of blowing up from this show. Have you
- 9:40Speaker 3: seen any like she has this kind of ridiculous Southern
- 9:45Speaker 3: accent in it, and so some of the things that
- 9:49Speaker 3: she's said, she's like piper names and tsunami and just
- 9:55Speaker 3: how she says some things. I she's so great in
- 10:02Speaker 3: that show. But there's this tie rapper and singer named
- 10:06Speaker 3: Lisa of a group called Black Pink, and she is
- 10:09Speaker 3: apparently extremely famous. She has like one hundred million followers
- 10:14Speaker 3: on Instagram.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I I'm sorry.
- 10:18Speaker 3: I probably felt really cool knowing she's probably the most
- 10:23Speaker 3: famous of all of the actors I just mentioned.
- 10:26Speaker 1: That's wild.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah, man, another emotional roller coaster of a season.
- 10:34Speaker 3: One really big name actor became like a side character
- 10:38Speaker 3: halfway through, which was really fun. But yeah, again, very
- 10:44Speaker 3: dysfunctional people vacationing, some left happy, some left devastated, and
- 10:50Speaker 3: spoiler alert, some don't make it out alive, just like
- 10:54Speaker 3: in the previous season. But man, thoroughly entertained.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I really like that show, so it's worth watching because
- 11:03Speaker 1: I that show makes.
- 11:04Speaker 3: People were saying, yeah, and there's definitely some of that. Yeah,
- 11:10Speaker 3: and they did one thing in the finale that almost
- 11:15Speaker 3: made me throw something.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Oh no, yeah, like I was set. I was upset,
- 11:21Speaker 1: but it made you feel something. I gain, it made
- 11:24Speaker 1: me feel some things. But yeah, I dig it.
- 11:28Speaker 3: I like that show, and it's crazy. Some crazy things
- 11:32Speaker 3: happen in this It's.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, cool. I'm sure I'll watch it at some point.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I just have it now that I can binge it.
- 11:37Speaker 3: I'll probably get off, Yeah you can, because it's all done.
- 11:39Speaker 3: And some people it was saying that they were like
- 11:42Speaker 3: kind of bored throughout the season, and I was not that.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, because some people really didn't like it. I
- 11:48Speaker 1: had heard as well, But yeah, whatever, I like. Plenty
- 11:52Speaker 1: of stuff people don't like for sure, and that is
- 11:54Speaker 1: on Max Nice. So check that out.
- 11:57Speaker 3: What have you been streaming?
- 11:59Speaker 1: I streamed a film this was over on I believe
- 12:02Speaker 1: it was Paramount Plus. If I'm not mistaken, yes it was, okay.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I had to verify so scared, I watched the movie
- 12:11Speaker 1: from nineteen eighty two that we've talked about a number
- 12:14Speaker 1: of times. I'd never seen it forty eight hours O fun. Yeah,
- 12:20Speaker 1: I'd never seen this before. This was I think the
- 12:22Speaker 1: debut of the movie career for mister was that the
- 12:26Speaker 1: first one Eddie Murphy, I think if I.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Mean, I think they say his like his stand up
- 12:32Speaker 3: Oh that's true, but the major culture I think, I am.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Sure certainly his first lead, right, But Eddie Murphy, Nick Nolty,
- 12:41Speaker 1: and then just a slew of other people that you
- 12:44Speaker 1: may or may not recognize. This movie is tough to
- 12:48Speaker 1: watch in twenty twenty five, so old. Quite a bit
- 12:52Speaker 1: of racial stuff happening in there and whatnot, which is
- 12:56Speaker 1: part of the plot, so I mean, I get it right,
- 12:59Speaker 1: Like that's not unheard of. But it's just like a
- 13:01Speaker 1: little like whoa, Okay, we're really going for it. But
- 13:04Speaker 1: overall it's a pretty great movie, compelling, you know, like
- 13:10Speaker 1: case that they're going after. They're trying to get bad guys.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Eddie Murphy is trying to get like he's a I
- 13:16Speaker 1: think I'm okay saying this. He is was a criminal
- 13:19Speaker 1: and was in jail and that gets pulled out to
- 13:22Speaker 1: capture a different guy from his crew that has now
- 13:25Speaker 1: killed a couple cops and stuff. And that's how Nick
- 13:27Speaker 1: Nolty gets involved. He's kind of the swarthy old like
- 13:31Speaker 1: you know cop that gets stuff done, even if it's
- 13:34Speaker 1: not by the books. It's sort of that old tale,
- 13:36Speaker 1: I feel like. But it's really good. There's some humor
- 13:39Speaker 1: in it. You could definitely I feel like watching it,
- 13:42Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, no, wonder. Everyone was like this, dude,
- 13:44Speaker 1: he's gonna be He's gonna be a big deal for sure.
- 13:47Speaker 1: And I felt like it was very Beverly Hills Cop
- 13:51Speaker 1: minus a little bit of the fun. It was. They
- 13:53Speaker 1: were like more dramatic but be sillier, you know, like
- 13:57Speaker 1: feel free to go crazy a little bit every once
- 14:00Speaker 1: in a while, you know so. But I really enjoyed it.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I thought it was fun to watch and it was
- 14:04Speaker 1: a hole in the repertoire, so I was happy to
- 14:06Speaker 1: see it.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Now you got to see another forty eight hours, I know.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Yeah, there's so there's a sequel there is. That's crazy talk.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I use that.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I use that quite a bit for like the movie
- 14:17Speaker 3: Grid Game, another forty eight hours. They don't really remember it.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Yeah that makes sense. Yeah, well great, I'll check it out.
- 14:24Speaker 1: It'll be fun, man. But yeah, it's on what did
- 14:26Speaker 1: I say.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Whatever, Paramount plus paramount.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Plus go check it out? Sweet? What do you say
- 14:32Speaker 1: should we do if you plugs? Yeah? Okay, you guys
- 14:36Speaker 1: can visit this. That was as always over on the

- 15:39Speaker 3: five draft that pertains to the movie we're talking about,
- 15:42Speaker 3: and for this one, we thought it would be fun
- 15:44Speaker 3: to do our top five favorite house party scenes.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Boom, that's gonna be fun. There's a lot, there's a lot,
- 15:53Speaker 1: so many.
- 15:54Speaker 3: I was able to find a few that I don't
- 15:56Speaker 3: think we're on there, So I like that.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're always our favorites. I like that. Nice, nice,
- 16:03Speaker 1: very cool. We will look forward to that, Greg. But
- 16:07Speaker 1: we are here today to talk about a wonderful film
- 16:09Speaker 1: from the U two thousand, the two thousand. This is
- 16:15Speaker 1: a movie called road Trip, road Trip, and this is
- 16:19Speaker 1: a movie that was brought up a number of times
- 16:21Speaker 1: in a past episode, Yes, in the movie euro Trip,
- 16:24Speaker 1: and so we decided we owed it to this man
- 16:27Speaker 1: to bring him back to talk about it. He's our
- 16:29Speaker 1: favorite road trip companion. Give it up for me.
- 16:31Speaker 3: You gosh, what's up Neil?
- 16:35Speaker 1: Oh?
- 16:35Speaker 3: Hello? Oh, so good to see you and hear you
- 16:41Speaker 3: as well.
- 16:42Speaker 5: It's been a while, it's been a minute, it has
- 16:44Speaker 5: How have you been good?
- 16:46Speaker 1: Good?
- 16:46Speaker 6: Got new surroundings behind me For anybody who's paying close
- 16:50Speaker 6: attention and stalking my homes.
- 16:54Speaker 1: If you are, please stop as well. Thank you very much.
- 16:57Speaker 3: How long have you been in the new place I'm in?
- 17:00Speaker 5: Last summer? So it's been a few months.
- 17:02Speaker 1: It's nice. Yeah, yeah, it's great. Cool, you're liking it.
- 17:06Speaker 5: It's okay. Yeah, it might be short lived, but yeah,
- 17:09Speaker 5: it's a good space.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I get it. I get it. Well, we're happy to
- 17:13Speaker 1: have you. Feels so happy. What was the last one
- 17:17Speaker 1: you were on for?
- 17:17Speaker 5: I was Trip? Did we do one after that?
- 17:22Speaker 1: That's hilarious because I introduced you as This movie came
- 17:26Speaker 1: up a lot during euro Trip, so we had to
- 17:28Speaker 1: bring him back.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that might have been, like we did
- 17:31Speaker 5: I can't rememberf we did another one after that?
- 17:32Speaker 1: Probably true? Sounds right?
- 17:34Speaker 5: Yeah, it seems seems.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Appropriate that we're welcome back for the spiritual sequel exactly?
- 17:39Speaker 1: Or is this one no? This prequel? This one was first?
- 17:43Speaker 5: Wasn't it a spiritual prequel?
- 17:46Speaker 1: Fantastic? Fantastic prequels are always the best. I think we
- 17:49Speaker 1: can all agree, Starboid to anybody, fantastic. I don't really
- 17:57Speaker 1: have anything fun to say. Should we just get started? Start?
- 18:01Speaker 3: Let's talk about all.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Right, well you geta started with the rough SYNOPSI.
- 18:06Speaker 3: I would love to A group of students embark on
- 18:10Speaker 3: an epic road trip from Ithaca, New York to Austin, Texas.
- 18:15Speaker 3: In a race against time to save their friends relationship,
- 18:18Speaker 3: the young man picks up a girl at a wild
- 18:20Speaker 3: fraternity party and films their raunchy antics. Somehow, the homemade
- 18:26Speaker 3: movie gets mailed to his girlfriend in Texas. Can the
- 18:30Speaker 3: guys intercept the incriminating tape before it reaches her?
- 18:34Speaker 1: VCR Wow, I felt like that this is a judgment,
- 18:42Speaker 1: but it felt like your first time reading.
- 18:43Speaker 3: That it was.
- 18:49Speaker 1: That is that's really something that's great that's really great.
- 18:56Speaker 1: RAUNCHI and films.
- 18:59Speaker 3: They're runch antics.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I love a raunchy antics. It's raunchy, you know. Otherwise
- 19:07Speaker 1: I'm out those PG fare constantly. Yeah, for real, for real,
- 19:13Speaker 1: Let's go to Rotten Tomatoes and hear what they have
- 19:15Speaker 1: to say. Oh, critics have this coming in and a
- 19:17Speaker 1: pretty rock solid fifty seven percent.
- 19:20Speaker 5: That's honestly better than I was expecting.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fair, that's fair. I didn't think about it
- 19:26Speaker 1: before I went there, and I was like, oh, yeah, right, yeah, yeah.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Do you remember what euro Trip was? I don't remember
- 19:32Speaker 5: at all. With the Rotten Tomatoes, well I don't, but
- 19:34Speaker 5: I can find out.
- 19:35Speaker 1: So I feel like it'd be.
- 19:37Speaker 6: Higher because of all the celebrity cameos. But I do
- 19:39Speaker 6: feel like overall it's not as good of an actual film.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I'll tell you who doesn't I agree Scottie. Critics had
- 19:44Speaker 1: it at forty seven percent.
- 19:46Speaker 3: That's right, that's right.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's this is definitely better than that. Ironically,
- 19:54Speaker 1: the audience score on this one is lower because for
- 19:56Speaker 1: euro Trip it was seventy five percent. For this it's sixty.
- 20:00Speaker 3: I wonder why that is.
- 20:02Speaker 6: Again, I think the cameos by the other one, like
- 20:04Speaker 6: a little more fun. Also, like the genre of like
- 20:06Speaker 6: raunchy teen comedies was a little more mature when that
- 20:09Speaker 6: one came out. This might have been like sort of
- 20:11Speaker 6: at the forefront, and not enough people were on board.
- 20:14Speaker 6: I mean, Tom dam it's good for ten percent, right,
- 20:17Speaker 6: I would think. So it's by himself, yeah, making me
- 20:24Speaker 6: that's true.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Also, the people who saved the euro Trip like already
- 20:28Speaker 1: probably knew they were gonna like it. You know, the
- 20:30Speaker 1: critics had to see it, right, but the other folks
- 20:32Speaker 1: were like, I mean maybe, I don't know. Probably. Yeah.
- 20:37Speaker 1: It's important though, is how we feel about it, so
- 20:40Speaker 1: that our hot take, hot.
- 20:42Speaker 3: Take, that's a hot take. That's a hot take.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Oh see, I think of my car's on fire.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Yeah, it does blow up after the rip.
- 20:54Speaker 1: It's great take. I would First, my first reaction to
- 21:02Speaker 1: this movie was, man, remember the Tom Green era. That
- 21:04Speaker 1: dude was weird as hell.
- 21:06Speaker 2: He was.
- 21:06Speaker 6: It's wild that he built a brand on being that
- 21:10Speaker 6: and he was just that and everything that he was
- 21:12Speaker 6: like his own show and every other movie that he
- 21:15Speaker 6: cameoed in.
- 21:15Speaker 1: It was just that. Yeah, and I liked him, but uncomfortable, weird,
- 21:20Speaker 1: like just so weird time. Yeah, dude, that's strange.
- 21:23Speaker 3: That bum song was huge.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it was everywhere, blew up. My bum was on
- 21:29Speaker 1: the ship, the Swedish set, one of them Swedish. Wow.
- 21:34Speaker 5: I haven't a lot of that in probably twenty years.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Dude. Yeah, yeah, but it's a it's a banger. If
- 21:42Speaker 1: you don't know that, go check it out. Anyway. This
- 21:44Speaker 1: movie is horny, and I like it, but it is horny,
- 21:51Speaker 1: not like the smartest movie of all time by any means.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I definitely enjoyed it back in the day. It's you know,
- 21:59Speaker 1: I like grown out of it is probably not the
- 22:02Speaker 1: right word, but now I'm just like, okay now a
- 22:06Speaker 1: little bit because it is horny. Videotaping your first sexual
- 22:12Speaker 1: encounter with someone is that's amazing. That's a move.
- 22:15Speaker 5: That is a move, but yeah, it's it's really something.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but still like, Also, I don't want to see
- 22:24Speaker 1: myself having sex at all, so I don't really get it.
- 22:27Speaker 1: But you know, I'm not here to yuck anyone's young,
- 22:29Speaker 1: go for it, kids, have fun. She seems like mail it.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Don't mail your raunchy antics to a girlfriend, though you know,
- 22:37Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, the guy in this movie. Not
- 22:42Speaker 1: a great guy by any means. I think we all
- 22:45Speaker 1: can learn, but you know, everyone seemed fine with it anyway.
- 22:50Speaker 1: My hottest take is the this movie is a good time.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Todd Phillips has made some of my most favorite movies
- 22:56Speaker 1: I feel like in experiences and also my absolutely favorite experiences.
- 23:01Speaker 1: This guy is a weirdo, and sometimes it really works
- 23:05Speaker 1: for me, and sometimes it doesn't. So uh yeah, it's
- 23:08Speaker 1: a real best of times worse.
- 23:10Speaker 3: This one works for you, though, right, this one works.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I do really like this movie. He's got quite a
- 23:16Speaker 1: few actually that work, although they are mostly early his
- 23:19Speaker 1: more recent stuff. I've been like, I don't know, Yeah,
- 23:23Speaker 1: I'm sure you know. Yeah, what are they rob? Are
- 23:27Speaker 1: you going to talk about all? Yeah? Yes, he So.
- 23:30Speaker 3: The early ones were Old School, which is like one
- 23:32Speaker 3: of my favorite comedies ever.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Love that one.
- 23:35Speaker 3: It was This, then it was Old School, Then it
- 23:37Speaker 3: was Starsky and Hutch, any couple other ones. Any, the
- 23:41Speaker 3: Hangover trilogy, which again doesn't.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Age well but yeah, a huge at the time.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Then he kind of went dramatic with war Dogs and
- 23:50Speaker 3: the Joker films.
- 23:52Speaker 1: No way, we're fine. The Joker film well, I haven't
- 23:57Speaker 1: even seen the second one, but I really did not
- 23:59Speaker 1: enjoy the first one at all.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Our friend Chris Chatham walked out of the The Jokers
- 24:05Speaker 3: sequel really heard it.
- 24:07Speaker 5: Was pretty it was pretty left. Yeah, I haven't seen
- 24:11Speaker 5: any like the first one.
- 24:12Speaker 1: No, but I'm all for, like, go ahead and make
- 24:16Speaker 1: the weird thing. That's cool. It doesn't have to be
- 24:18Speaker 1: for me. But yeah, not for me, Yuki, Yeah, I
- 24:22Speaker 1: don't like it, but yeah I don't. I guess my
- 24:25Speaker 1: hottest take is just videotaping your first sexual dalliance is
- 24:30Speaker 1: really something?
- 24:31Speaker 3: That is really something?
- 24:32Speaker 6: Would you say that you feel somewhere between a fifty
- 24:34Speaker 6: seven percent and a sixty five percent on this on
- 24:37Speaker 6: this movie?
- 24:39Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I think I'm like a seventy percent. Okay,
- 24:43Speaker 1: right right. I just got a Windows at that popped
- 24:46Speaker 1: up on my screen, So that's.
- 24:47Speaker 3: What's a bright one? You really very shining.
- 24:52Speaker 1: It was a full screen you got to move to
- 24:55Speaker 1: Windows eleven or else situation, and it couldn't have come
- 24:58Speaker 1: at a better time. On that's my hot take.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Hot take. Get on Windows eleven, hot take, figure it out.
- 25:09Speaker 3: I loved this movie when it came out. I was
- 25:13Speaker 3: still in high school but getting ready to go to
- 25:17Speaker 3: college the next year, and was so excited for it,
- 25:20Speaker 3: like if this was a real representation of what college
- 25:23Speaker 3: was going to be, Like, I was so excited and
- 25:26Speaker 3: it was. We can all agree I had the exact
- 25:29Speaker 3: same experience. Yes, but yeah, I would watch it with
- 25:33Speaker 3: a bunch of friends.
- 25:34Speaker 2: I know that.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Benny and I watched this a whole bunch. Yeah, you
- 25:38Speaker 3: said the whole stuff with Todd Phillips. He also wrote
- 25:41Speaker 3: this film as well, and he does that for his
- 25:44Speaker 3: other films as well. He writes, he writes them and
- 25:48Speaker 3: uses a guy named Scott Armstrong to write.
- 25:50Speaker 1: With as well.
- 25:52Speaker 3: I thought it was really fun, young ensemble, a lot
- 25:55Speaker 3: of different characters that I thought shared, some good on
- 25:59Speaker 3: screen chemistry, a bunch of quotes in this that I've
- 26:03Speaker 3: always thought were so funny, and some that I still
- 26:06Speaker 3: say to this day. Super fun road trip movie, but
- 26:10Speaker 3: pretty loose plot where he's got to get halfway across
- 26:13Speaker 3: the country country in a short amount of time, but
- 26:16Speaker 3: still enough time to go and have some insane things
- 26:20Speaker 3: happened along the way, which I like.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I love a road trip movie anyway, right solutely.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Absolutely it works, It almost always works. But yeah, I
- 26:34Speaker 3: don't have anything too profound. It had been a very
- 26:36Speaker 3: long time since I'd seen this, and it was fun
- 26:40Speaker 3: reliving it because yeah, I mean it's been probably twenty years,
- 26:47Speaker 3: Like I honestly can't think of.
- 26:48Speaker 1: The last time.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Hot take. The technology makes it so that this plot
- 26:55Speaker 3: could never happen today.
- 26:57Speaker 1: That's so true.
- 26:58Speaker 3: That's ever so when they make this obsolete.
- 27:03Speaker 5: And they pop out a full size VHS out of
- 27:05Speaker 5: the cam quarter.
- 27:06Speaker 4: Just.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Oh damn. Yeah yeah, like she was just texting him.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Oh no, my grandpa died, right right, Yeah.
- 27:18Speaker 6: So all of it, man, Yeah, calling the landline of
- 27:21Speaker 6: the like the room to try to get all the
- 27:23Speaker 6: roommate yeah right, yeah, well and mailing a vhailing h
- 27:29Speaker 6: I would say, calling the like the phone that the
- 27:32Speaker 6: roommate picks up made me think about the ship.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Life a lot. Oh yeah, totally is. I definitely did
- 27:38Speaker 1: that with people. But that's more there than other times, right,
- 27:43Speaker 1: especially college didn't really do it there, Yeah, sure, sure.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Just one other thing is that I haven't seen Sean
- 27:49Speaker 3: William Scott in anything since American Reunion in twenty twelve.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Yeah, where's he been? He did the five oh thing, right,
- 27:57Speaker 1: wasn't he in Hawaii? Five bo? On. No, it was
- 28:01Speaker 1: like Lethal. I think it was the new Lethal. We okay,
- 28:05Speaker 1: one of those reboots that yeah, which I didn't see. No,
- 28:09Speaker 1: I think it was one season, but I did see that.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Apparently he's in the newest season of Righteous Gemstones, so
- 28:16Speaker 3: I'm going to have to start that back.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Let's go. Yeah, dude, that's exciting. So yeah, yeah, we could.
- 28:23Speaker 1: He could make a little comeback now.
- 28:25Speaker 3: I feel like he definitely could. But dude, I mean
- 28:27Speaker 3: he played this kind of well it'll get into that
- 28:29Speaker 3: one later, but like this was his time, like he
- 28:34Speaker 3: could play the young goofy, didn't care about anything. But
- 28:37Speaker 3: now he's much older, so how how do you switch?
- 28:41Speaker 6: It is interesting, you know, didn't like he never really
- 28:44Speaker 6: had to show much range back then, like this was
- 28:46Speaker 6: the character that he always was.
- 28:48Speaker 5: But I might have burned the brand a.
- 28:50Speaker 6: Little too strong on like him, and I think when
- 28:53Speaker 6: people see him in films, they're like, oh, it's Stiffler,
- 28:55Speaker 6: Like it's still Stiffler twenty years later.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Because this was like if they were to call them stiffler,
- 29:00Speaker 1: right have been like, oh, okay, cool, it's the same.
- 29:02Speaker 6: Character literally identical, same character. Yeah, same thing with role models,
- 29:06Speaker 6: like he's the same guy in that, like it's just
- 29:07Speaker 6: a total character.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, absolutely nic Yeah, but it works for me.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I like it. Hot take, hot thank you,
- 29:15Speaker 3: thank you?
- 29:16Speaker 1: You know what's your hot take?
- 29:18Speaker 6: Yes, Gorge and hot take, so similar to Rob. I
- 29:20Speaker 6: was a little bit younger, but this was like, so
- 29:22Speaker 6: this came out in two thousand. I went to college
- 29:25Speaker 6: in two thousand and five, and that was like this
- 29:27Speaker 6: was on the the permanently rewatching like rotation in our
- 29:31Speaker 6: dorm room freshman year, along with like Van Wilder and
- 29:35Speaker 6: you know, Waiting and stuff like that, So like what
- 29:37Speaker 6: movies are really that was that was the sweet spot
- 29:39Speaker 6: of them anyways, and this was definitely one of the
- 29:42Speaker 6: favorites for me in my roommate Chris, So I have
- 29:44Speaker 6: seen this a lot. It just was it's just an easy,
- 29:48Speaker 6: like easy to watch kind of film, and like it
- 29:51Speaker 6: was funny rewatching because I also haven't watched it in
- 29:53Speaker 6: at least fifteen years, probably twenty years. Yeah, but it
- 29:55Speaker 6: was funny rewatching it to just see like how contrived
- 29:59Speaker 6: the begin part of the story is like it makes
- 30:02Speaker 6: no sense at all that this guy who's like literally
- 30:04Speaker 6: the character is introduced as being like so in love
- 30:07Speaker 6: with his girlfriend, so committed and they've been together since
- 30:09Speaker 6: they were little kids, and then he immediately cheats on
- 30:12Speaker 6: her and films it and censor the tape and it's
- 30:15Speaker 6: like within the first twenty minutes you have like a
- 30:18Speaker 6: complete contradiction of what they tried to build up his
- 30:20Speaker 6: character to be.
- 30:21Speaker 5: But he reck Andmeyer kind of.
- 30:23Speaker 6: Like pulls it off, like he's just a very likable dude,
- 30:25Speaker 6: and so he doesn't seem like a shitty person despite
- 30:29Speaker 6: the fact that the entire story is built on him
- 30:31Speaker 6: kind of being a shitty person.
- 30:32Speaker 5: Right, So I thought it was really fun.
- 30:34Speaker 6: But it was like just you know, kind of like
- 30:36Speaker 6: you're a trip, Like you just need to like put
- 30:37Speaker 6: in a series of events to get them on the
- 30:39Speaker 6: journey and then the rest kind of.
- 30:41Speaker 5: Takes care of itself.
- 30:42Speaker 1: So yeah, I love that it was.
- 30:45Speaker 5: It was pretty fun rewatching this.
- 30:46Speaker 6: It was like it is very egregiously horny to your
- 30:50Speaker 6: point views like they really just don't even or which
- 30:53Speaker 6: just like if there's an opportunity to like have a
- 30:56Speaker 6: topless scene or a makeout scene, like they take every
- 30:58Speaker 6: exit though, But it was pretty fun to rewatch. I
- 31:02Speaker 6: thought some of the minor characters in this like they
- 31:05Speaker 6: really kill it.
- 31:06Speaker 5: It's it's pretty well cast for like this is.
- 31:08Speaker 6: I think the characters have a little more depth than
- 31:10Speaker 6: like the euro Trip cast, which is also maybe why
- 31:13Speaker 6: this this one hit a little more for me, Like
- 31:15Speaker 6: they give each person a little more to dig into
- 31:17Speaker 6: what their characters than I think the Aero Trip crew did,
- 31:21Speaker 6: which is pretty fun. But I know that we're going
- 31:22Speaker 6: to get into like scenes and all that stuff.
- 31:24Speaker 5: But overall, still enjoyed.
- 31:25Speaker 4: This.
- 31:26Speaker 6: Still one of my favorite like raunchy comedies from that
- 31:28Speaker 6: time period. It was fun to rewatch for sure.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Can I add a horny adendum if either of you
- 31:35Speaker 1: ever have a sex tape, I'm not watching it with you.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Lu how hot.
- 31:43Speaker 5: Like action is? Like, well, of course we're all going
- 31:46Speaker 5: to watch this together, right.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Dude, lights out boner time?
- 31:50Speaker 1: What are we doing? Come on? Man?
- 31:52Speaker 5: That was cracking up too.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Why was that first thought that they? I mean, it's hysteric,
- 32:00Speaker 1: but yeah, I don't know anyway, hot takes all around. Yeah,
- 32:05Speaker 1: great work. Let's go in and talk about our favorite
- 32:07Speaker 1: acting performance. Shall we name the dude? I'm the dude,
- 32:13Speaker 1: so that's what you call me, you know that? Or
- 32:17Speaker 1: his dudeness or duder or you know, el dud reno,
- 32:21Speaker 1: if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
- 32:23Speaker 6: You.
- 32:24Speaker 5: I mean, I put Breckenmeier. He's he's the main guy.
- 32:27Speaker 6: He gets the most screen time, He kind of gets
- 32:29Speaker 6: the most of everything to work with as far as
- 32:31Speaker 6: acting performances go, and he's pretty solid. I think he
- 32:34Speaker 6: I think he does a good job with his character,
- 32:37Speaker 6: Like I was saying, like, despite the fact that on
- 32:39Speaker 6: paper this is like not a character that you'd be
- 32:42Speaker 6: rooting for, he's just like a very likable dude generally,
- 32:45Speaker 6: and so like you still kind of see him as
- 32:46Speaker 6: the good guy despite the sequence of events that sets.
- 32:49Speaker 5: Up the story being like really, so, I think for
- 32:54Speaker 5: that alone, he is.
- 32:55Speaker 6: He has earned himself a dude for that, And there's
- 32:57Speaker 6: honestly not too many other characters that have enough screen
- 33:00Speaker 6: time to warrant like being.
- 33:03Speaker 1: So. Yeah, Also, where's he been?
- 33:06Speaker 5: You know totally he had a moment yeah and then
- 33:08Speaker 5: he then he didn't.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Yeah, he was big around this time.
- 33:12Speaker 1: He wasn't that unpregnant movie. I did like that movie. Yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 3: I saw him on the Sony lot and I got
- 33:19Speaker 3: real starstruck, and I couldn't talk to him because I
- 33:23Speaker 3: was so into road trip. Yeah, but I went with
- 33:30Speaker 3: Shawn Williams Scott, another Minnesota native, that both those guys
- 33:34Speaker 3: are fam Oh yeah, but yeah, like I was saying before,
- 33:41Speaker 3: Seawan william Scott's whole vibe I just have always enjoyed
- 33:46Speaker 3: and thought was extremely entertaining. He always played that funny,
- 33:50Speaker 3: care free, smart ass. It just works for me. I
- 33:53Speaker 3: love it, he was I think, yes, dude, yes, So
- 33:59Speaker 3: I thought he shined nice, nice.
- 34:03Speaker 1: I went back. This was not easy for me. I
- 34:05Speaker 1: didn't feel super strongly about it. I also picked Breck
- 34:08Speaker 1: and Meier. I mean in the movie for sure. Yeah,
- 34:12Speaker 1: and just like like you said, Neil, he does a
- 34:15Speaker 1: great job of he's absolutely in the wrong for the
- 34:18Speaker 1: most part.
- 34:19Speaker 6: And I was still like, again, and somehow you're kind
- 34:22Speaker 6: of still rooting for him to like pull this off,
- 34:24Speaker 6: like even though like you really probably shouldn't be.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Yeah, So yeah, I guess I'll give it to him.
- 34:31Speaker 1: I think he's really funny. But I don't know, Like
- 34:34Speaker 1: I said, I don't feel super strongly. I felt pretty
- 34:37Speaker 1: strongly about some of the supporting parts, though. Should we
- 34:39Speaker 1: go into.
- 34:40Speaker 3: The duchy for this?
- 34:44Speaker 6: Neil I think this is this is a much tighter
- 34:47Speaker 6: race because there are a lot of pretty good supporting performances.
- 34:51Speaker 5: I ended up going with DJ Qualls, who plays Kyle
- 34:54Speaker 5: in this.
- 34:54Speaker 3: One me too.
- 34:56Speaker 1: They give him.
- 34:57Speaker 6: A lot to work with and I think it's hilarious
- 34:59Speaker 6: and I think he really he does make the most
- 35:00Speaker 6: of it. Like his character is so like has the
- 35:05Speaker 6: greatest like evolution over the course of the film, and
- 35:09Speaker 6: he really like leans into all of it. There's so
- 35:12Speaker 6: many great scenes with him in various iterations of who
- 35:15Speaker 6: he is in this movie, like from the super timid
- 35:18Speaker 6: nerdy kid at the very beginning, and then like post
- 35:21Speaker 6: frat party, like how he swaggers out and like how
- 35:26Speaker 6: like his big moment is dad Like it's just it's great.
- 35:28Speaker 6: He like knocks it out of the park in all
- 35:30Speaker 6: the like things that they give him to work with.
- 35:32Speaker 5: So I taxed him. But there are a lot of
- 35:34Speaker 5: pretty decent supporting performances in this.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Absolutely playing the same role. Did you guys ever see
- 35:40Speaker 1: that New Guy movie that he did. It's being basically
- 35:44Speaker 1: this exact character. Yeah, really, and it's pretty fun. Like
- 35:48Speaker 1: I liked it, but it's kind of silly. It came
- 35:50Speaker 1: out like two years later, I think so nice. It
- 35:53Speaker 1: was like, do that again, we'll come up with slightly
- 35:55Speaker 1: different permutations. It'll be great, don't worry about it, right nice, Yeah,
- 36:00Speaker 1: yeah right.
- 36:00Speaker 3: I definitely had him as well. For all the things
- 36:04Speaker 3: that Neil said, there were a lot of runner ups rewatching.
- 36:13Speaker 3: I'm gonna throw Barry's grandparents played by Ellen Albertini Dao
- 36:18Speaker 3: and Edmund lind Deck. Edmund Lindick really crushed his small
- 36:23Speaker 3: amount of screen time.
- 36:25Speaker 1: He's been in a few movies that I remember too.
- 36:28Speaker 3: I feel like, yes, dude, but yeah, the the erection
- 36:33Speaker 3: and the hallucinating with the dog, I mean, crushed.
- 36:37Speaker 5: Solid and for like less than ten minutes of screen
- 36:39Speaker 5: sign too.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Yeah. Uh, he's in It's some Sandler movie. I can't
- 36:44Speaker 1: remember exactly which one, but there's just a point where
- 36:47Speaker 1: someone says something. I mean, he just goes, hell yes,
- 36:51Speaker 1: and I can see and hear that like little snippet
- 36:55Speaker 1: of that movie in my head.
- 36:56Speaker 3: So mister Deed's or Big Daddy mister.
- 37:00Speaker 5: I feel like he's maybe in that one.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Big Danny though too. But anyway, at some point he
- 37:05Speaker 1: just sort of like they say something again, pretty horny,
- 37:08Speaker 1: and he just goes, oh yeah, yeah, it's great. Mm hmm.
- 37:13Speaker 1: I love that. I was speaking of Horny so in
- 37:19Speaker 1: love with Amy Smart. I was like, my goodness, just
- 37:24Speaker 1: disity blues, yeah, so many things. Just friends, like you said, friends. Yeah,
- 37:31Speaker 1: Like she's just the best. She didn't have a ton
- 37:35Speaker 1: to do in this movie, but I just felt like
- 37:37Speaker 1: she was pretty fun totally.
- 37:38Speaker 6: She was super charming with like her limited screen time
- 37:41Speaker 6: and like did very much make you the viewer also
- 37:44Speaker 6: fall in love with her as like a love interest
- 37:46Speaker 6: despite not being on screen for most of it.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and she called in a bomb exactly, like that's like,
- 37:53Speaker 3: what else could you ask for?
- 37:54Speaker 1: I don't know if that's the dream. Okay, that's the.
- 37:57Speaker 6: Dream somebody who's willing to do that, whether or not
- 38:01Speaker 6: they do, it's the willingness that's the dream, you know.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I like that. I like that. It's good now,
- 38:08Speaker 1: But I just really liked her a lot.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Uh.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Paolo Costanzo's pretty funny is Ruben was.
- 38:17Speaker 6: He was one of my favorite characters in this when
- 38:19Speaker 6: I when we used to watch it way back in
- 38:20Speaker 6: the day, and I'm kind of surprised that he like
- 38:22Speaker 6: hasn't done much else in Hollywood. Because I didn't think
- 38:24Speaker 6: that he really kills it interesting.
- 38:27Speaker 1: I think it's hard to be like the super smart
- 38:29Speaker 1: kid in a high school movie and then be smart later, right,
- 38:33Speaker 1: because he's just like a normal human being. You know.
- 38:38Speaker 3: It was kind of fun to see because usually the
- 38:40Speaker 3: stoner guy is just you know, not smart, right, and
- 38:46Speaker 3: he has like no drive or whatever, and so that
- 38:49Speaker 3: was kind of the first time I've seen that played
- 38:51Speaker 3: that way.
- 38:51Speaker 6: Yeah, it was definitely a fun twist on like that
- 38:54Speaker 6: kind of trope of the friend group, right, to have
- 38:58Speaker 6: him be like a genius.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that was fun. I liked that.
- 39:03Speaker 3: I like that Tom was so ridiculous in this movie,
- 39:09Speaker 3: and I mean, I definitely think about it. There's some
- 39:12Speaker 3: scenes with him, you know, being the when he's taking
- 39:16Speaker 3: everybody around campus and just having it so ridiculous. All
- 39:21Speaker 3: this snake stuff gets a little much, Yeah.
- 39:27Speaker 6: Which makes me wondering how much, like was on the
- 39:29Speaker 6: cutting room floor, Like, is there just ten hours of
- 39:32Speaker 6: Tom Green interacting with a snake and they just cut
- 39:34Speaker 6: it down to like fifteen minutes and slightly I.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Feel like, yeah, but for how weird he is and
- 39:42Speaker 3: was back then, they I felt like they kind of
- 39:45Speaker 3: reined him in for the most fun.
- 39:46Speaker 6: Yeah, this was like, this was within a couple of
- 39:49Speaker 6: years if Freddy Got Fingered, which I feel like was
- 39:51Speaker 6: way more over the top with Tom green stuff.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's kind of hysterical that this is his
- 39:56Speaker 1: like down the version months. I love that Anthony rap
- 40:05Speaker 1: how about the archive being in there?
- 40:07Speaker 3: That was crazy.
- 40:08Speaker 1: It's a very creepy character. I don't really like him,
- 40:10Speaker 1: but I like that guy. I thought Horatio Sands was
- 40:13Speaker 1: wonderful in his little little tiny cameo that he did.
- 40:17Speaker 3: Really that scene is so funny.
- 40:19Speaker 1: It cracks me. Uh He's so sweet and when he
- 40:23Speaker 1: eat farts and like he's just like, excuse me.
- 40:26Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, that seems ridiculous.
- 40:28Speaker 6: I also love that he's just like you can see
- 40:31Speaker 6: them at the table behind him, like he's just in
- 40:33Speaker 6: the open doorway doing this.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Yeah right, Yeah, it's like Andy Dick was pretty funny.
- 40:43Speaker 3: He was also in another Todd Phillips movie, Old School.
- 40:46Speaker 6: Yeah io Yeah, yeah, that's right.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Ethan soup Lean it was fun seeing him, yeah, totally.
- 40:56Speaker 1: And now that dude is just so.
- 40:58Speaker 5: Jazz yeah, which good for him.
- 41:01Speaker 6: Man. He he made a living very young on being
- 41:05Speaker 6: very at a very unhealthy weight, and now he's just
- 41:07Speaker 6: like so pretty awesome.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Yeah. Uh. I also couldn't confirm this. I looked really hard.
- 41:14Speaker 1: But the at the beginning when he's Paulo is smoking
- 41:19Speaker 1: the joint at the party with the girl, the blonde girl,
- 41:22Speaker 1: and she's like, well, that's kind of the point because
- 41:24Speaker 1: he says you might make some bad decisions or whatever.
- 41:27Speaker 1: I swear that's Anna Chlumski, but I could not confirm it,
- 41:32Speaker 1: and it didn't quite look right.
- 41:33Speaker 5: So I I do remember always thinking that girl was
- 41:36Speaker 5: super cute, and I thought that again this time.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Yeah, but she kind of looks like Anakin a little bit. Okay,
- 41:43Speaker 1: but I feel like the Internet would have told us somewhere.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Yeah, it was in an alternate universe.
- 41:49Speaker 6: There's a good side plot of reubn like dating that
- 41:53Speaker 6: chick who basically like was aligned in his interests of
- 41:55Speaker 6: wanting to lower inhibitions, and gets done at a party.
- 41:58Speaker 1: She's like, yeah, I'm man, let's go for it. That's
- 42:01Speaker 1: some fun.
- 42:02Speaker 3: Fred Ward hanging out come on playing Earl once again,
- 42:07Speaker 3: playing Yes, wouldn't that be great if it's the same character?
- 42:13Speaker 3: Would that be fun?
- 42:14Speaker 1: He just turns into a hard ass dad He's like,
- 42:16Speaker 1: you never know when the worms are gonna come up.
- 42:18Speaker 1: You gotta be love that. That's great.
- 42:28Speaker 3: One thing that I didn't know until I was looking
- 42:31Speaker 3: up the cast list is that Jimmy Kimmel is the voice.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Of that dog.
- 42:37Speaker 5: Really yeah, that out That is really funny.
- 42:43Speaker 3: Matt Walsh has a scene as the crime scene investigator
- 42:47Speaker 3: guy and that is so funny.
- 42:51Speaker 1: It was so good. Uh.
- 42:53Speaker 3: And that Mary Lynn Rice gob she played the blind Uh,
- 43:00Speaker 3: was so funny too.
- 43:01Speaker 1: School for the Bind in twenty four she's been in
- 43:04Speaker 1: actual stuff now, but yeah, I remember her as Chloe
- 43:07Speaker 1: I think.
- 43:07Speaker 3: And she's a stand up comic too.
- 43:09Speaker 6: That's that the slow motion like from out of frame
- 43:13Speaker 6: middle finger just coming up from the bottom of this.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's beautiful. Yeah, that's good, clean fun right there.
- 43:19Speaker 1: That's good. Yeah. I love that. Also, Mia amber Davis, Ronda,
- 43:23Speaker 1: she was great. She was Miranda. I like Ronda. I
- 43:26Speaker 1: did too. I didn't love that. They were like, she's enormous,
- 43:30Speaker 1: she's like a like, she's not like that.
- 43:34Speaker 3: To DJ Qualls, that was it was fun. It's like
- 43:38Speaker 3: a se right. So it was a really fun little Yeah,
- 43:42Speaker 3: that's great combo there. I got a little sad because
- 43:46Speaker 3: I looked her up. I was like, why haven't I
- 43:47Speaker 3: seen her anything? She passed away, like, oh no, fifteen
- 43:51Speaker 3: years ago, super young. Really, it was like a blood clot.
- 43:55Speaker 1: I looked it up. I was like, what on earth? Wow?
- 43:57Speaker 3: So I just thought I would take this time to
- 43:59Speaker 3: bring down that fat get everybody sad.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I wanted you guys to feel my pain.
- 44:08Speaker 3: But she was fun in this. She was funny, dude. Yeah,
- 44:10Speaker 3: I really liked her.
- 44:11Speaker 1: I thought she was very charismatic. Mm hmm, I can't
- 44:14Speaker 1: believe that's Jimmy Kimmel. That's hilarious. Yeah, dude.
- 44:19Speaker 5: Was that an uncredited game or is he like in
- 44:21Speaker 5: the credits for The Dog?
- 44:22Speaker 3: I mean it's somewhere in there. I don't know if
- 44:24Speaker 3: it's said uncredited, but yeah on IMDb.
- 44:27Speaker 5: Interesting.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that's so funny.
- 44:29Speaker 5: Feels like he would have been pretty relevant still back then,
- 44:32Speaker 5: but maybe not. I don't know.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Yeah, they have a bunch of other people that are
- 44:36Speaker 1: listed as uncredited later on IMDb, so it must have
- 44:39Speaker 1: been credited, n I guess.
- 44:41Speaker 5: Yeah, that's hilarious.
- 44:42Speaker 1: Wild. Yeah.
- 44:43Speaker 3: Only other person I wrote down is just Tiffany, played
- 44:46Speaker 3: by Rachel Blanchard.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and she she's been in some stuff.
- 44:51Speaker 3: She was in like that Clueless show and yeah, yep,
- 44:56Speaker 3: but yeah, I thought she didn't get to do a lot.
- 44:58Speaker 3: She was actually the funniest in like his nightmares scenario.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 45:03Speaker 5: By the way, they really did like a great job of.
- 45:07Speaker 6: Just setting up like the most anxiety inducing possible scenario
- 45:11Speaker 6: and like really playing it out for you.
- 45:14Speaker 3: Like, and then she was just like it's cool, right, yeah, right,
- 45:19Speaker 3: but yeah when she's like watching and then just throws
- 45:22Speaker 3: up and it's like, oh god, that would just.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Be the worst. And yeah, just like her her grandpa.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Just passed away and they're trying to console her, like no,
- 45:32Speaker 3: we'll just.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Put the tape in. It's okay, it'll be it's a ray,
- 45:36Speaker 1: you'll watch it.
- 45:37Speaker 6: It'll be like anxiety of just watching that unfold is
- 45:42Speaker 6: like yes, yeah, even if you know how it's gonna end,
- 45:44Speaker 6: just like really does make it.
- 45:46Speaker 1: No no no no no no no no no no
- 45:48Speaker 1: no no no. Yeah. That was good. That's great. I
- 45:52Speaker 1: love that.
- 45:53Speaker 3: That's pretty much everybody. Did you guys have anybody else
- 45:55Speaker 3: you wanted to mention?
- 45:57Speaker 1: Todd Berry is in it for a hot second, and
- 45:59Speaker 1: I like him.
- 46:00Speaker 3: One of the guards, the security guards security. Yes, I
- 46:05Speaker 3: noticed that too, He's yeah, another comedian.
- 46:07Speaker 1: That's fun.
- 46:09Speaker 3: That was it, though, Well, let's let's talk about some scenes,
- 46:12Speaker 3: and let's choose the dingus soda is quite simple, really
- 46:18Speaker 3: ingus ingus.
- 46:19Speaker 5: I could talk about my dingus all night long. This
- 46:23Speaker 5: one might be hard.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Maybe, I don't know, dude, Like I have like five scenes.
- 46:30Speaker 3: I was just like, I don't know, I don't know
- 46:31Speaker 3: which one I could pick number one, but started off Neil, Okay,
- 46:36Speaker 3: so yeah.
- 46:37Speaker 6: I also run down a few jumping the car across
- 46:41Speaker 6: the bridge pretty early on, specifically when Sean William Scott
- 46:45Speaker 6: spits and it just lands on the bridge and the
- 46:48Speaker 6: bridge collapses from the that's pretty good like that, yeah,
- 46:54Speaker 6: and then yeah, the car exploding is kind of a classic,
- 46:57Speaker 6: you know, trope to the Bedford's for the Blind. That
- 47:00Speaker 6: whole scene with the blind girl at the front desk
- 47:03Speaker 6: is so good, just like the which honestly, New Girl
- 47:06Speaker 6: probably ripped this off because that came way earlier, but
- 47:09Speaker 6: the same, very similar premise when they're like talking to
- 47:12Speaker 6: the banker and he like seems like he can see
- 47:14Speaker 6: what's going on, and they keep being like you know,
- 47:16Speaker 6: like what's like, are you actually blind?
- 47:19Speaker 1: And he like goes back and forth, He's like, what
- 47:21Speaker 1: are you doing?
- 47:23Speaker 5: What are you doing?
- 47:24Speaker 6: I love that anyway, that was a good one. The
- 47:27Speaker 6: scene that the diner was a really good one, and
- 47:29Speaker 6: I noticed it this time because you can see DJ
- 47:33Speaker 6: Qualls' bright orange shirt in the background and he's just
- 47:36Speaker 6: standing in an open doorway and.
- 47:37Speaker 5: They're at like the first table, like directly.
- 47:40Speaker 3: That's a great point, just red, And you can like
- 47:45Speaker 3: see it in his sweatpants as he's walking away like.
- 47:49Speaker 1: That weird like plunging and like holes in the bread
- 47:56Speaker 1: like it's not subtle at no.
- 48:00Speaker 5: Definitely brings it back.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Un good.
- 48:06Speaker 6: Yeah, when they get to the fraternity and the whole
- 48:10Speaker 6: secret handshake thing and then they get in and then
- 48:14Speaker 6: the planted the planted kkk hood.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 48:20Speaker 5: It was a really good I also have this on
- 48:21Speaker 5: the Favorite Quotes.
- 48:22Speaker 6: But where he's like, uh, hang on, I got in here,
- 48:26Speaker 6: see your boy here is an evil bigot and now he's.
- 48:28Speaker 5: Going to die. That's a really good one. The chaos
- 48:38Speaker 5: of the snake biting the t a like, which kind
- 48:40Speaker 5: of had been.
- 48:41Speaker 6: Built up too throughout because he just keeps talking about
- 48:43Speaker 6: feeding him, and then it finally like comes.
- 48:44Speaker 5: To a head.
- 48:45Speaker 6: It's brief, but like that's just it's kind of like
- 48:48Speaker 6: you finally get the payoff to the snake and you're wondering,
- 48:50Speaker 6: like why they keep talking about the snake, and it's
- 48:52Speaker 6: just that. And then I had the grandpa getting stoned
- 48:55Speaker 6: as well, because that is a great Yes, that whole
- 48:57Speaker 6: the conversation, but then just him staring at the top
- 49:00Speaker 6: and then after they leave him staring at the dock.
- 49:03Speaker 3: Yes, yes, okay, I had I had three of those.
- 49:10Speaker 3: The other two, the first one I put down is
- 49:14Speaker 3: the sperm bank sequence I wrote killed me so much.
- 49:22Speaker 3: Call this milking the prostate.
- 49:27Speaker 1: That one killed me. And then just the.
- 49:31Speaker 3: In the bus, the conversation about cheating and the uh,
- 49:38Speaker 3: you know how you can get around it. You know,
- 49:40Speaker 3: it doesn't it's not cheating if it's all this. Yeah,
- 49:44Speaker 3: so I'm sure that'll get into quotes. But I always
- 49:47Speaker 3: love that part of the movie.
- 49:48Speaker 1: I do love and I didn't remember this, but I
- 49:50Speaker 1: love that she then is like and it was a
- 49:53Speaker 1: difference it gods, like what right.
- 49:56Speaker 3: Everyone knows that yeah when she was ten or yeah?
- 50:00Speaker 1: Yeah? Right, so good, really good I love all those
- 50:06Speaker 1: the only other one so I think I would pick
- 50:10Speaker 1: either the French toast or the sperm donation scene would
- 50:13Speaker 1: probably be the vote for me because they're so funny.
- 50:17Speaker 1: But I also love when Tom Green just gets he
- 50:21Speaker 1: just goes overboard talking about them kissing and starts kissing
- 50:24Speaker 1: the mom who's on the thing with him, and like
- 50:27Speaker 1: that's whatever. But the kids saying the kids every single time.
- 50:35Speaker 1: I love it so much. I don't know what it
- 50:38Speaker 1: is about that specific humor, but that's right on my
- 50:41Speaker 1: funny bone.
- 50:44Speaker 5: The end too.
- 50:47Speaker 6: Good.
- 50:49Speaker 1: It's very similar to in Billy Madison, like who are
- 50:52Speaker 1: you mister? What do you do? It's so that kid mom?
- 51:00Speaker 3: That good? Yeah you should have been your two.
- 51:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right. I also thought the bidding for her
- 51:13Speaker 1: at the beginning was like a pretty fun scene.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a fun scene.
- 51:17Speaker 1: A fun scene because the fact that I liked it
- 51:20Speaker 1: at all, because that could be a really yucky scene. Yeah.
- 51:24Speaker 3: They did say straight up like he gave us like hey,
- 51:27Speaker 3: in no way right. Yeah, I felt like that was
- 51:29Speaker 3: actually extremely progressive.
- 51:32Speaker 1: And yeah it did feel they weren't like and you
- 51:34Speaker 1: got to them so figure it out, you know.
- 51:38Speaker 6: Yeah, But that's like the theme of this movie is
- 51:40Speaker 6: like making really gross stuff feel less gross, sort of
- 51:45Speaker 6: like they like that's another really good example of like
- 51:47Speaker 6: there's no way that that should even get be getting
- 51:49Speaker 6: a pass, but somehow like didn't feel as gross and
- 51:52Speaker 6: exploitative as it should have on paper, you know what
- 51:54Speaker 6: I mean, just because of like the acting performances and
- 51:57Speaker 6: like the tone wasn't like rape, which I appreciate.
- 52:01Speaker 1: Well, and she like got him to do it so
- 52:05Speaker 1: she had an agency, you know, like a little bit
- 52:07Speaker 1: in that situation, which was nice.
- 52:09Speaker 5: Twenty seven.
- 52:12Speaker 1: Twenty seven. Yeah, it's way more money than I would
- 52:16Speaker 1: have my wallet in college.
- 52:19Speaker 5: Also different times. Imagine doing a cash auction on the
- 52:22Speaker 5: fly at a party today.
- 52:24Speaker 1: Now you have Venmo exactly you got you are code? Yeah, yeah,
- 52:30Speaker 1: I have a pretty solid four o one K.
- 52:33Speaker 5: There you go.
- 52:34Speaker 1: Still, isn't that no? Not not anymore? Still you know
- 52:38Speaker 1: fair fair point? Yeah? What do we want to pick
- 52:42Speaker 1: for the dingis that? Does anything jump out at you? Yeah, dude,
- 52:46Speaker 1: I think the sperm donation Ford makes sense.
- 52:50Speaker 5: We all had dinner as well.
- 52:53Speaker 1: I'd be down for that. I do love that scene.
- 52:55Speaker 3: That's a house stod well, that.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Is we're doing the draft for that, so maybe we
- 53:01Speaker 1: go frat house because I had that written down to
- 53:03Speaker 1: frat houseouse.
- 53:05Speaker 6: I do like the like, I don't know the secret
- 53:10Speaker 6: handshake actually working somehow, I'm not having the information that
- 53:15Speaker 6: it's a national black fraternity.
- 53:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I love too. But he's just like, yeah, it
- 53:19Speaker 1: doesn't matter who cares, right, That's fine. Yeah, yeah, that's
- 53:24Speaker 1: pretty great. Well let's pick that then, and let's move forward.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Let's talk about some of our favorite quotes. It's time
- 53:32Speaker 1: to show me the money.
- 53:37Speaker 6: Show me.
- 53:43Speaker 1: You get a started.
- 53:43Speaker 5: You could say a couple, probably, I've got a few.
- 53:46Speaker 5: I've got a few.
- 53:47Speaker 6: So I have from the beginning really early, like basically
- 53:51Speaker 6: introducing the characters, where he says I'm invested in this
- 53:57Speaker 6: relationship and Shaun Willmscott goes, tested are you Charles Schwab
- 54:02Speaker 6: That was a pretty good I had the because it's
- 54:06Speaker 6: your dog, because.
- 54:08Speaker 3: It's your said that so many times I forgot it
- 54:13Speaker 3: was from this movie.
- 54:14Speaker 1: I was like, oh, got it, Okaye, I love it.
- 54:17Speaker 6: It's your I love it even more than he restates
- 54:20Speaker 6: it with different emphasis and they're like, no, we.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Got it, Yeah, we got it. Stop saying it now.
- 54:29Speaker 6: I put actually quote this one a lot, but Austin Austin, Massachusetts.
- 54:39Speaker 6: This one was the one that I forgot about this line,
- 54:41Speaker 6: but I used to quote this lot in college.
- 54:43Speaker 1: But where.
- 54:46Speaker 6: Ruben is like, it's supposed to be a challenge. That's
- 54:48Speaker 6: why they call it a shortcut. If it was easy,
- 54:50Speaker 6: they would just call it the way.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that's pretty good, A good line, It is great,
- 54:56Speaker 1: that's a good lot.
- 54:57Speaker 6: I had the woman on the bus who was like,
- 55:00Speaker 6: the last time I trust that a man was back
- 55:02Speaker 6: in nineteen eighty five and he stole my sister and
- 55:05Speaker 6: my van and it was a regular size van.
- 55:07Speaker 5: That was before they started making those mini vans.
- 55:12Speaker 3: I recognized that lady as Donovan McNabb's mom in cammercial.
- 55:20Speaker 1: Good call.
- 55:21Speaker 5: That's a deep that's a deep reference. That's pretty good.
- 55:24Speaker 1: So I'm pretty sure that's the lady who does Winston's
- 55:29Speaker 1: police interview at the house.
- 55:33Speaker 5: I think in the background Check episode.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Yeah, man, a lot of New Girl references. I love that.
- 55:40Speaker 6: I'm never mat about that. And then the other one
- 55:43Speaker 6: that I also kind of forgot about, but like is
- 55:46Speaker 6: like adhd stem that sticks in my brain is when
- 55:50Speaker 6: he calls to try to get an extension on the midterm,
- 55:52Speaker 6: and he's like, I was in a car accident and
- 55:54Speaker 6: on the other side of the line, you just hear
- 55:56Speaker 6: the tiago oh, oh my god, oh my god, which
- 56:03Speaker 6: always that was hilarious.
- 56:05Speaker 1: It's like, who are you talking to? I was talking?
- 56:07Speaker 1: I was talking to Yeah, good clean, fun yeah.
- 56:13Speaker 3: Nice. One that I say used to say a lot anyway,
- 56:19Speaker 3: was did I say to better make that three nice?
- 56:23Speaker 3: I always loved that. In the end credits pretty much yea.
- 56:28Speaker 3: It was like, stop, okay, keep doing it, keep doing it.
- 56:35Speaker 3: You're already cheating. Anytime you pass up sex, you're cheating
- 56:39Speaker 3: on yourself.
- 56:41Speaker 1: I love it was funny.
- 56:42Speaker 3: And then just all the the rules and stuff were funny.
- 56:47Speaker 1: I don't know that they need to be oh yeah repeated.
- 56:53Speaker 3: Oh. When when DJ Qualls brings the panties up and
- 57:01Speaker 3: Sean Williamscott's like, did you kill a cheetah?
- 57:05Speaker 1: That was pretty great. I hate it, but it's great.
- 57:08Speaker 3: It's horrible, but it also made me laugh.
- 57:11Speaker 1: That was in like every preview for that movie, because
- 57:15Speaker 1: I feel like I heard that line so many times.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Yes, when they get to the sperm bank and DJ
- 57:22Speaker 3: Qualls is like, I guess I'm out because I had
- 57:24Speaker 3: sex last night with a girl.
- 57:33Speaker 1: He's just so proud of him, so happy about it.
- 57:37Speaker 1: The with a girl that really.
- 57:39Speaker 6: Gets on a related one when he's sitting on the
- 57:41Speaker 6: bench with Rohnda and he's like, I've had sex before,
- 57:45Speaker 6: just not with the person, and she goes.
- 57:47Speaker 3: Just right right right, Yeah, why don't you say some bugs?
- 57:54Speaker 1: That's great just early on when they're talking about feeding
- 57:59Speaker 1: the snake and he's like, maybe maybe we could cut
- 58:02Speaker 1: a mouse in half and feed him half today and
- 58:04Speaker 1: half on Saturday. It's just so creepy, but it's so obsessed,
- 58:09Speaker 1: really funny.
- 58:10Speaker 3: Uh.
- 58:11Speaker 1: And in that line unleash the very Mitch.
- 58:17Speaker 3: Yeah, that's yeah, that was good. In the trailers.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Absolutely, I'm telling you, if you pass this up, it'll
- 58:27Speaker 1: haunt you for the rest of your days. Your dick
- 58:28Speaker 1: will never forgive you. Yeah. That was a good, pretty
- 58:32Speaker 1: good line. Yeah.
- 58:34Speaker 3: And when he's down like and he's pretending like he's yeah, yeah,
- 58:38Speaker 3: if something doesn't happen soon, I'm just gonna pack up
- 58:40Speaker 3: my balls and leave.
- 58:42Speaker 5: Yeah, that's pretty good one too.
- 58:44Speaker 1: Really great the roommate when she's like, which in retrospect,
- 58:50Speaker 1: knowing that her Grandpa passed away. This roommate really did
- 58:53Speaker 1: him dirty. Yeahs like Tiffany's not here. She didn't sleep
- 58:57Speaker 1: here last night again, And it would be great if
- 58:59Speaker 1: one went by where you didn't call. If she wanted
- 59:02Speaker 1: to talk to you, she'd call you. Deal with it.
- 59:07Speaker 5: The room was really unnecessarily mean.
- 59:10Speaker 1: She was so mean. She was stressed. It was final start,
- 59:13Speaker 1: she was stressed.
- 59:14Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a tough time.
- 59:15Speaker 1: I think. I think it's stressful. Oh, let's see the
- 59:20Speaker 1: song that Tom Green sings when it just ends with
- 59:24Speaker 1: but the salmon can only say blah blah, it's sad
- 59:30Speaker 1: and it's sad.
- 59:32Speaker 3: I love it in that part when he's like and
- 59:34Speaker 3: the mina bird sings and then it goes to Seania
- 59:38Speaker 3: and he's lip syncing.
- 59:41Speaker 1: Because he loves it. Yeah, because they've done it so
- 59:43Speaker 1: many times. Yeah, yeah, it's so funny. I did love
- 59:47Speaker 1: that too. Is amazing. That's a great, great call. Also,
- 59:52Speaker 1: I confirmed Cleo King is the lady on the bus's
- 59:55Speaker 1: name and she was a new girl.
- 59:57Speaker 3: Amazing, the same person.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: Uh. And her line that I also liked was, oh,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: there's help, but it comes with batteries.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: The braacher.
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: You can keep that one.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you. Also, when they're about to have sex,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Ronda and what skinny guy's name again, Kyle Kyle. Yeah,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: she's like, oh, he might have a condom in there,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: and she's like he opens the drawer and she's like
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: next to the old spice behind the belt. Good guess guess.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: I loved that. And then just later when he's like,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: I poinked her.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: I wondered. It was great.
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: Just say the word.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Your blinking out of your system.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: Really really good. And then I think my last one
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: is I think it's when they first get to the
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: fraternity after the handshake and they go into the room
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: where they're all eating and everyone looks at him and
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: he's like, that gives about twenty minutes till our first
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: app Oh yeah, we're gonna die.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: We're gonna die. I definitely had moms way up there.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: It's so funny.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: I love the when he's going through the story and
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: the students like girls don't just walk around naked. He's like, uh,
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: yeah they do, they do.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Yeah, And the one kid sew into it the mom right,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: so right.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: Yeah, they're really really naked. The Matt Walsh's line, if
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: I had to guess, I'd say somebody was raped and murdered.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: Here the hell gives you that idea?
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: It's just a feeling, just a feeling, And.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Then that's what the other person say. The goodness is
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: we haven't found a single drop of seaman yet.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's all I got.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: Oh god, you got any more.
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: Neil, No, that's all I got? Oh wait, well I
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: did have the I already said it.
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: But the your boy here is an evil bigot and
- 1:02:13Speaker 6: now he's gonna die and that one right now, now
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: it's just the delivery of the line, honestly, Yeah, and
- 1:02:20Speaker 6: now he's going to die.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: That was really funny. It made me laugh so hard
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: I almost cried. Let's go to bugs booo moments crying game.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: This is an easy one. You did not cry in
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: this movie? Really?
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: Did you really like one spot?
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: But maybe not even that's what you think, just the
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: dad confrontation at the end.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: Maybe oh that's a good call, But no I didn't.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: Okay, I was like maybe when they kind of agree
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: to break up and stuff, but it's you know, so
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: much is happening, Like you're kind of freaked out because
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: she puts the videotape in the VCR.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you just you can't.
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: They also don't like it.
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: You don't really see the moment at least, not like
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: seeing the conversation, you know, they just kind of recap.
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: It after the fact.
- 1:03:15Speaker 6: So yeah, they somewhat wisely do not attempt to tug
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: at the heart strings at the end of this zany adventure.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: So yeah, agreed, No, so no, cris none. Yay, that's zero.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: Let's go on to some movie trivia. I don't have
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: a whole bunch for this. There wasn't a lot, but
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: I think we talked about this on the Old School pod.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: But the the opening scene, they have a flyover of
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: a university it's actually Harvard, and Old School uses the
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: same footage in their movie, so I just thought that
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: was kind of funny. They were like, well, that's pretty great.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Well we got it. We have this leftover footage, we
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: might as well use it. And to be fair, it's
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: like a coverage, like who cares, it doesn't matter, you know.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: I think that's fun.
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: Uh.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: The film takes place in schools in Ithaca, Boston, and Austin.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Almost all the college scenes were filmed at Georgia Tech,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Emory University, and the University of Georgia all located near Atlanta.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: So I thought that was interesting. Interesting. Yeah, I don't
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: know if you saw this a little bit further down
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: tell me, But so he received the full.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: Cooperation of the University of Georgia, but upon seeing the
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: finished product, the school effectively banned filming on campus for
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: the next twenty years.
- 1:04:35Speaker 6: That's hysterical, leaving a lasting legacy right there, right that
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: A lot that's really funny.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: Ithake University is fictional, but Todd Phillips and Scott Armstrong
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: and the two people who wrote it their alumni of
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, and it's partly based
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: on their time there. I guess. So that was interesting.
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: Which part is based on their time there?
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Definitely about it. But since I watched this movie for
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: the first time, the mouse in the Mouth has grossed
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: me out so much.
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: Oh dude, and like Peter would just be so upset
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: about that.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: There's just no way.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: Also, we didn't mention Todd Phillips was the creepy on
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: the bus and he kind of always does that.
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: I was gonna say, that's kind of his like thing.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: He tends to insert himself as creeps and movies in his.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: Creep Yeah, he shows up in old school. He's like,
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: I'm here for the gang, right.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Right, that's right. I forgot that was him. Okay, nice, Yeah,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: that's great. There's no way to segway. Originally, Moby's version
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: of the James Bomb theme played in the background of
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: When They Drove the Car over the Bridge, but Todd
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Phillips had to change it to a generic song because
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: the budget wasn't big enough to use Moby's song. I
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: thought that was interesting.
- 1:06:01Speaker 6: Uh.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: When Andy Dick is the motel clerk, he's reading an
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: issue of Celebrity Skin magazine with Drew Barrymore on the cover,
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: and at the time Barrymore was engaged to Tom Green.
- 1:06:13Speaker 5: Interesting Barry very Manlo.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: Yeah that's his name. Is so funny love quality. After
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: a successful box office run and strong DVD sales, a
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: direct sequel was proposed, but mainly failed when producers couldn't
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: come up with anything that the quote said would not
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: easily become an American pie copy. They said some of
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: the purpose creative ideas, though, would move on to become
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: a euro Trip, which was released in two thousand and four.
- 1:06:49Speaker 6: Okay, so we weren't too far off when did the
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: Eurotrip episode, because I had literally for twenty years assumed
- 1:06:55Speaker 6: that that was intended to be a sequel, and only
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: during that podcast episode did I realized is that it
- 1:07:00Speaker 6: was actually not.
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: Like squel on purpose.
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: But it makes sense that a lot of the ideas
- 1:07:06Speaker 6: for what was supposed to be a sequel ended up
- 1:07:08Speaker 6: in that film because you.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Could any cast of people around those situations, right, totally.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: Yeah, But isn't it nuts that that movie just today's standards,
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: you would never have a good box office, uh, with.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: A movie like this that for sure, you know what
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: I mean? Yeah, just crazy? It would kill on like
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: a streamer probably, Yeah, but.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: You just can't get these movies into into the theaters anymore.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Yeah, or they don't make them, you know, for like
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: the cheap yeah, cheap ish, Amy Smart had. I just
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: think this fact is insane. Amy Smart had some reservations
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: about showing your press and film that that's normal, but
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Todd Phillips convinced her by saying that Phoebe Kates's nude
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: scene in Fast Times at Richmond High was his favorite
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: nude scene in a movie, and That's how he convinced her.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: He just said. He just said, I like these other boobs,
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: May I see your boobs? And it worked? Yeah, what
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: a weird It's like, what do you mean? Weird thing
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: to say?
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: You know, that's the strategy that I have, admittedly never tried.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: I have.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: Works sometimes three breasts.
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: I saw one breast, But yeah, I just think that's funny.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: He's just like, I don't know this other movie. They
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: did it and it was pretty fun.
- 1:08:34Speaker 5: It was pretty cool, Like other boobs was pretty cool.
- 1:08:37Speaker 5: How about yours?
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Wow? Interesting filmmaking is weird. But that was all the
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: trivia I had. Like I said, there wasn't a tone
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: out there.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: I had a few more things.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: I saw.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: DJ Qualls can't eat French toast anymore? No, he said
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: he ate a hundred pieces of French toast wonderbread during
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: a seven hour shoot. What a hundred?
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: That's a rookie. He's got to know. You gotta cut it.
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: Not actually, dude, you can't actually eat it.
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: Why were they doing that many takes of that scene?
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: Get the coverage, bro unnecessary?
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: It's good, Yes, it was good as far as people
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: up for other roles. Uh, dude, one that blew my mind.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: Crisp and Glover was originally cast as Jacob, who's played
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: by Anthony Rapp.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: What so creepy?
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: It would have been creepy, and I feel like you
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: would have been too old already at that time. So
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: it was like, isn't it like a thousand Yeah, I
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: don't know, but that one, I mean he he could
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: definitely play a creepy stalker dude, Like I.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Get that, but yeah, but in a horror movie, not
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: in like, yeah, that one weird me out.
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: Zach Alfanakis auditioned.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: For the role of Barry.
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: Interesting.
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: Wow, and then Phillips would use him in The Hangover.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: So yeah.
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: And it looks like Reese Witherspoon was considered for the
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: role of Beth, but she had started another movie with
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: a very similar plot called Overnight Delivery. Oh interesting, and
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: that came out two years prior to me. Neither apparently
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: Paul Rudd. Paul Rudd's in it as well.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Wow, I'm signed me up.
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I do for science to see this alternately.

- 1:12:30Speaker 3: I'm going to name my five favorite actors from a
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: film when you know the film, ringing with your name.
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: If you get it wrong, there's no negative points, but
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: you won't be able to guess again for that movie.
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: If their actors' names remaining, you can guess those for
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: a point each. The other person can steal if you
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: get any of those wrong. And all of these films
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: have something in common. When you know the theme, you
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: can ring it at any time for a point. It
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: may have to do something with road Trip. Okay, just saying,
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: just saying drug movies.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Uh, stop guessing, quit it? Okay, sorry, go ahead, okay? Uh.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: Number one, the first name is River Phoenix. Ooh.
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: The second name is Jonathan Reese Davies.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: Bukes.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: The third name, oh am.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: I gonna get the wrong one. Uh. Indiana Jones, the
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: first one arc of the Covenant, so it's called The
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: Raiders of the Last the Last Ark.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: Good lord, sorry, is it that one is incorrect?
- 1:13:46Speaker 5: One?
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: Don't say anything? Don't say anything. Uh So, Neil, we
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: got River Phoenix, we got Jonathan Reese Davies.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: I'm so dumm. Do you want me to keep saying names?
- 1:13:57Speaker 5: I was going to take? But I don't think I know?
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: Is it?
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: Stand with me?
- 1:14:03Speaker 6: No?
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: No, here, I'll just say names I don't know. So
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: here comes Number three is Denholm Elliott and I got
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: the fourth name though, is Sean.
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: Connery Indiana Jones and the last Crusade.
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: Boom, got it.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: It's my favorite one. And I got it wrong.

- 1:14:33Speaker 1: That he was young.
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: To meet his dad?
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: Right right?
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: And it's like a really pivotal scene. Why are you
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: scared of stuff?
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: So?
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: Yeah, then you have number one. Who's who's the last
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: name there?
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: Neil? Wouldn't that be here?
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: It's important?
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: It absolutely would be. So Neil gets two points. Damn it,
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: you're so close, buddy. I was going to umber two.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: The first name is John Voight. The second name is

- 1:15:24Speaker 1: You got.
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: What with snakes in them?
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: That was the one of the ideas we were going
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: to do for our top five draft. So I was like,
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: I'm gonna steal it for this game. So Neil gets
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: a point there crap, bugs, you get a point for
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: anaconda and you have two names remaining.

- 1:16:49Speaker 3: Knowing that it's you know, there's a snake in the movie,
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: damn it, it's a pretty pretty pivotal part of most
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: of these.
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: Nice. That's good.
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: Let's go number three.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: The first name is David Carradine. Oh, no, thank you.

- 1:17:37Speaker 3: we still have we still have three names remaining, all right, Thurmon,
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: it's in like flashbacks.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: It's kind of sneaky.
- 1:17:46Speaker 5: Yeah, you definitely have Uma Thurman and honestly don't know
- 1:17:50Speaker 5: the others.
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: The one who deals with the snake. Yeah, remember that again.
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: Nothing.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: What's her name? It's a's name. It is, it is,
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: it is, but I can't think of it right now.
