- 0:01We're talking today about know the mystery of the kingdom of God.
- 0:08I want you to just hold on real quick.
- 0:09I want you to just absorb that.
- 0:12Know the mystery of the kingdom of God.
- 0:17Now, we've heard kingdom of God.
- 0:18Jesus taught the kingdom of God.
- 0:20Paul taught the kingdom of God.
- 0:22Constantly hearing about this kingdom of God.
- 0:25But let me ask the question: What is the kingdom of God?
- 0:30See I know it's a mystery, but let's just deal with the kingdom of God.
- 0:34What is the kingdom of God?
- 0:36We go straight to the word.
- 0:38In the Book of Romans 14:17, it tells you,"For the kingdom of God is not meat or drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost." I want you to hold onto that now.
- 0:55But here's the question Whose righteousness?
- 1:01Whose peace?
- 1:03Whose joy?
- 1:04And what is this Holy Ghost?
- 1:07First of all, righteousness is Jesus.
- 1:09Peace is Jesus.
- 1:11Joy is Jesus.
- 1:12And the Holy Ghost comes from Jesus, the comforter.
- 1:16Now that we have that, what is this mystery of the kingdom of God?
- 1:21If it's a mystery, how do we know it?
- 1:25Mark 1:15, when he says,"The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand.
- 1:34Repent ye," which is repent you,"and believe the gospel." In the gospel is the answer.
- 1:42Here, I want you to hold on to this because this is where we really got to start absorbing.
- 1:48Why is this such a big deal?
- 1:50Jesus says it in the book of Matthew 6:33,"But seek ye first," what?
- 1:55"The kingdom of God," and what?
- 1:57"His righteousness," Jesus,"and all these things shall be added unto you." What things?
- 2:06What do you need?
- 2:08What do you want?
- 2:10How do you perceive it?
- 2:12And he goes, and he tells a parable, and then another parable, and then another parable, just so you can understand how spiritual it really is.
- 2:24Oh, we're gonna deal with this today now.
- 2:26I'm gonna put a time limit on this right here because this is the problem that the world don't understand, and this is the problem believers don't understand.
- 2:35First, in a kingdom, you must have what?
- 2:37A king.
- 2:37That's Jesus.
- 2:38That's why he's born the King of the Jews.
- 2:41Pretty simple.
- 2:43It's not complicated.
- 2:45But now here's the issue when we go through these parables.
- 2:50If you don't believe in who you are, and I'm talking about you gotta know that see if you take it.
- 2:59I'm just being real with you.
- 3:00If you don't know who you are, when you hear about the kingdom, Satan is gonna take it away from you.
- 3:08If you accept it with joy and you're not grounded in who you are, meaning I'm not worried about riches, I'm not worried about all these other things, then you lose it because of the worries.
- 3:24Because when you grab ahold of this word that I'm talking about tonight, Satan's coming.
- 3:29Oh, I'm gonna be honest with you, Satan's coming.
- 3:31Why?
- 3:31'Cause he can't stand for you to hold onto this because it's too powerful.
- 3:36Oh, let's just get into the word because we're gonna have to deal with it, you gotta deal with it.
- 3:40So let's deal with know the mystery of the kingdom.
- 3:42Let's go in the Book of Mark, chapter 4, we're gonna deal with verse 11, and I wanna show you where I'm pulling that scripture from.
- 3:48In verse 11 of Mark 4 it says,"And he said unto them," who is he?
- 3:54Jesus.
- 3:56"Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God, but unto them," who's them?
- 4:03Religious people,"that are without, all these things are done in parables." Wow So now let's grab ahold.
- 4:13We already started running now, so we're gonna walk this thing out.
- 4:18If you don't get it, I'm gonna be honest with you, don't worry about it'cause Satan's gonna take whatever, whatever little bit you did get.
- 4:26He's not gonna let you hold onto that.
- 4:28Those are non-believers.
- 4:30Yeah, they go to church.
- 4:31They're non-believers.
- 4:32I used to wonder many years ago, I used to ask the Lord,"I don't understand.
- 4:36How can somebody hear the Word all their life, but yet don't understand, don't really wanna follow the Word?" He says,"People," we talking about n- I'm not even talking about people who don't believe at all.
- 4:48We're not even dealing with them e- because they have no chance unless Jesus d- invites them at the end.
- 4:56I'm talking about people who hear the Word.
- 4:59They are falling in three category.
- 5:01In this whole parables of the sower, the mysteries, it's three categories.
- 5:07The ones who's gonna believe it because they heart is right, they believe in themself.
- 5:14It's those who hear the Word, they don't have no root in themself.
- 5:19They have not have no belief in themself.
- 5:21They don't study the Word long enough to even...
- 5:23So the little bit they hear, they don't take that.
- 5:26And then it's those who they grab ahold of the Word, and they hold onto it for a period of time.
- 5:32I don't care if that period is one day or 35, 50 years, but they'll lose it.
- 5:38Why?
- 5:39Because of the trouble of this world, because of greed, because of the things that they allow to come in their ears.
- 5:45It will snatch the Word out from them.
- 5:47See, whenever you're going through persecution, your job is to stay solid.
- 5:50Why?
- 5:51'Cause you do not want Satan to have a foothold in your life to take that Word out of you.
- 5:58Wow.
- 6:00See, tribulation is coming because of the Word.
- 6:03The Word says that,"Oh, I'm gonna get in the Word now." See, it tells you trouble coming.
- 6:07It said,"But hold on," what?
- 6:09"To the Word." Know the mystery of the Kingdom of God.
- 6:12That's what we teaching about today, and we're talking out of Mark, Luke, and Matthew.
- 6:16Hold on, let's dance.
- 6:18So in Mark chapter 4, Jesus is just teaching a simple parable, and he's going from verse 1 through 20, and he's just telling you what this mysteries are, and people get all bent out of shape.
- 6:33But if you don't understand these, he said you don't understand nothing about the Word.
- 6:37"And he began saying to teach by the seaside, and there was gathered unto him a great multitude.
- 6:47Now watch this,"so that he entered into a ship and sat at the sea, and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
- 6:58And he taught them many things in parables and said unto them in his doctrine," remember, this is Jesus' doctrine Hawking Below,"Heareth, behold, there went out a sower," what did he do?
- 7:16To sow.
- 7:17"And it came to pass as he sowed, some fell by the wayside, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
- 7:27And some fell on stony ground where it had not much root," which is earth,"and immediately it sprung up because it had no depth of earth.
- 7:39But when the sun was up, it was scorched.
- 7:43And because it had no root, it withered away.
- 7:48And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yield no fruit." Wow.
- 7:58I just wanna stop real quick'cause I wanna give you something now.
- 8:02See, when you're dealing about this fruit, those are characters.
- 8:07If you say you a child of God, I should see some characters of fruits in you.
- 8:12But we go on to verse eight now,"And others fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprung up and increased, and brought forth some 30, some 60, and some 100." Now, I know you're saying to yourself,"Man, this is easy.
- 8:32It makes sense." But be careful.
- 8:36These fruits are characters.
- 8:39Paul taught you what the fruits are in Galatians chapter 5 when he started talking in 20- verse 21, he talk about love, peace, joy, long-suffering, godliness, goodliness.
- 8:51These are character traits of the Holy Spirit.
- 8:54These are character traits of a child of God.
- 8:58These do not belong to the world.
- 9:01These cannot belong to the world.
- 9:03We talking about know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God.
- 9:06So in verse nine of Mark 4,"And he said unto them,'He that hath ears to ear, let him hear.'" He's saying,"This is so important.
- 9:21Listen.""And when he was alone, they that were about," now watch this now they, and they that were about with h- with him," with the, he talking to the 12 disciples now, they asked him a question and j- and he said unto them,"Unto you," he talking about his disciples now, these are not average people.
- 9:45They are disciple.
- 9:46They're listening and they're following Christ.
- 9:48"Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God.
- 9:53But unto them," religious people that just, no, they just wanna read a little word or hear a little word,"that are without, all these things are done in parables." You know how powerful that is?
- 10:07Now I want you to just, I want you to really just sit here and let that z- absorb in just real quick now.
- 10:13We all looking at the same word now.
- 10:15We, because the, the sower is God.
- 10:17This is Jesus sowing now.
- 10:19Now the word is what he's sowing to the world now.
- 10:22All these people are reading the same word me and you are reading today.
- 10:27He says,"But they'll never understand it." Wow.
- 10:31The word is so powerful that even though we are all reading the same word, they can't receive it.
- 10:40Oh, goodness gracious.
- 10:42Know the mysteries of the kingdom of God.
- 10:44But let's go on because there's so much more to these.
- 10:49In verse 12, it says,"That seeing, they may see and not perceive." They're reading it, but they can't perceive it.
- 10:57"And hearing, they may hear and not understand." They're hearing just like me and you, but they can't understand it.
- 11:05"Lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them." That's the forgiveness.
- 11:12See, everybody think just'cause you say Lord, forgive me," is you being forgiven.
- 11:15No, there's more to it than that.
- 11:17You gotta believe that you believe.
- 11:19This is the word faith now.
- 11:20You gotta know that but it goes even further than that.
- 11:25"And he said unto them, know ye not this parable?" Now watch what he says after this'cause this is where it blows me away.
- 11:35"And how then will you know any parables?" All parables.
- 11:41He said,"You ain't know this, you ain't gonna know nothing else." Wow.
- 11:47To sow, soweth the word.
- 11:52And these are they by the wayside where the word is sown.
- 11:59We just preaching the gospel.
- 12:01But when they have heard, who comes?
- 12:04Satan.
- 12:05Satan comes immediately.
- 12:07Now, let me slow down'cause I don't wanna run over this part here'cause this is where people missing it now.
- 12:11Satan's coming himself.
- 12:13Whenever he-- whenever the kingdom of God is being taught and they don't have a ground, a solid ground in themselves in the word, Satan comes immediately, and he does what?
- 12:24Taketh away the word that was sown in their heart.
- 12:27How does he have that much power?
- 12:30Because they've allowed him.
- 12:32He's coming to his servants to make sure they don't get no word about the kingdom.
- 12:38And these are they likewise when which are sown on stony ground, who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with what?
- 12:51Gladness, joy, and have no root in themselves, and so endures what?
- 13:00But for a while, for a time, for a period, one day, one year, one thousand.
- 13:08It doesn't matter.
- 13:09It's just a period.
- 13:11Afterwards, when what?
- 13:13Affliction, what?
- 13:15Or persecution.
- 13:16Why does it come?
- 13:19It arises for the word's sake.
- 13:23If you think you can grab ahold of this word and you ain't gonna go through something, you are sadly mistaken.
- 13:28If you think you're gonna start trying to walk righteous, eh, yo, you sadly mistaken.
- 13:32It says because of the word's sake, persecution and affliction is coming immediately.
- 13:44They are offended.
- 13:45Don't miss that right there now Offense separates you from God.
- 13:50He said immediately they are offended.
- 13:53I'm not shocked when people do me wrong.
- 13:56Why?
- 13:57The word told me.
- 13:58I'm not shocked when people don't like me, the word told me.
- 14:02I'm not shocked when I go through affliction, the word told me.
- 14:06I am not shocked when I go through persecution, the word told me.
- 14:12He said, but what?
- 14:13Don't get offended.
- 14:15Why?
- 14:15'Cause offense messes your heart up.
- 14:18It makes you cold.
- 14:19It makes you evil.
- 14:21It starts to make you get a hard heart and you can't receive.
- 14:25Oh, we about to deal with this now.
- 14:27See verse 18, it says,"And these are they which are sown among thorns, such as," hear the word,"in the cares of this world, in the deceitfulness of riches, and the lust of other things enter in," what?
- 14:45The heart.
- 14:45And what does it do?
- 14:46Choke the word.
- 14:48And it becometh unfruitful.
- 14:50All of that word, because you wasn't spiritual and understanding enough, you allow it to separate you from God.
- 14:58And these are they which are sown on good ground, such as, hear the word, receive it, and bring forth fruit.
- 15:07What's these fruits?
- 15:08Love, peace, joy.
- 15:12Now watch this now.
- 15:13He says some 30, some 60, and some 100.
- 15:16So I know you ask yourself the question, but hold up now.
- 15:21Why some people only get 30?
- 15:24Why some people only get 60?
- 15:27Why others get 100?
- 15:28It's all up to you.
- 15:31But everybody gonna get 30.
- 15:33That's your starting point.
- 15:34That's love, peace, and joy.
- 15:36Th- that's a given.
- 15:38The question is, can you handle more?
- 15:42So when persecution come, you handle it.
- 15:44He bears more fruit.
- 15:46Now you get that that more godliness, that more loving that all those fruits continue growing.
- 15:51Why?
- 15:51He says,"I wanna give it to you more abundantly.
- 15:54I wanna give you more fruits." Why some people get 100?
- 15:57Oh, they done went through pure hell.
- 15:58Why?
- 15:59They're dealing with it.
- 16:00They understand I'm not getting offended.
- 16:02I'm not gonna get offended.
- 16:03Yes, they persecute me, I'm not getting offended.
- 16:06So as these things are happening because of what?
- 16:08The word sake.
- 16:09They are growing spiritually.
- 16:12It's like a child becomes a young person, becomes an older person, becomes a teenager, becomes a young adult, becomes adult.
- 16:19Now they mature.
- 16:21What is happening know the mysteries of the kingdom of God.
- 16:25And I know you're saying to yourself,"Man, that makes sense." But it gets even deeper.
- 16:30Go to the Book of Luke.
- 16:31Luke chapter 8.
- 16:33Luke chapter 8, starting with verse 4.
- 16:35We're going from 4 to 15 In the book of Luke, he's telling the same parable of the sower, but he gives a little more information.
- 16:45And see, this is what mess people up when they're trying to understand this.
- 16:51So think about this now.
- 16:52If you pay attention, when he start with verse four, it's talking about the same story, little different information.
- 17:02Why?
- 17:03Because he's talking to believers.
- 17:06And he says when much people were gathered together and were to him out of every city, he spoke b- by a parable.
- 17:15A sower went out to sow his seed," that's the word now,"and as he sowed, some fell by the wayside and it was trod, trodden down and the fowls of the air devoured it.
- 17:30And some fell on rocky and as soon as it sprung up it withered away because it lacked moisture." He's telling the same story in a different parable s- but the same kingdom of God.
- 17:43"And some fell among thorns and the thorns sprung up with it and choked it.
- 17:49And others fell on good ground and sprung up and bare forth a hundredfold.
- 17:53And when he had said these things he cried,'He that has an ear, let him hear.' And his disciples asked him saying,'What might this parable be?' And Jesus said,'Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to others in parables that seeing they might not see and hearing they might not understand.' Now, and the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
- 18:29Those by the wayside are they that hear, then cometh the devil and take away the word out of their hearts lest they should believe and be saved." Boy, he got nasty in there now.
- 18:42He come in plain.
- 18:44"They are the rocks.
- 18:46They are the rocks are they which when they hear receive the word," with what?
- 18:53"Joy and these have no root which for a while believe and in time of temptation fall away.
- 19:01And that which fell among thorns are they which when they have heard they go forth and are choked with the cares and riches and the pleasures of this life and bring forth no fruit for perfection." See, the fruit is the perfection.
- 19:17That's how we're supposed to be with Christ.
- 19:19But- That on the good ground are they, which is an honest and a good heart, having heard the word, keep it and bring forth fruit with patience.
- 19:35That's time.
- 19:36Your patience, that's gonna take time.
- 19:38You gotta learn these things, and some people don't have no patience.
- 19:43Now we're bringing it all home now.
- 19:46We done warm up now, we're bringing it all home now.
- 19:48So in Matthew 13, that's all he's doing.
- 19:51He took what he said in Mark and Luke and he rolls it all together.
- 19:56And now he says,"The same day when Jesus went out of the house, he sat by the seaside and great multitude were gathered together unto him so that he went into a ship and sat, and the whole multitude stood on the shore, and he spoke many things unto them in parable, saying,'Behold, a sower went forth to sow, and when he sowed, some seeds fell on the wayside and the fowls came and devoured them up.
- 20:29Some fell among thorniest places where they had not much earth, and forthwith they sprung up because they had no depthness of earth.
- 20:39And when the sun sprung up, they were scorched because they had no root, they withered away.
- 20:46And some fell among thorns and the thorns sprung up and choked them.
- 20:50But others fell on good ground and brought forth fruit.
- 20:54Some a hundredfold, some 60-fold, some 30-fold.
- 20:58Who has ears to hear, let him hear.'" Now, this is what I love because we done brought it home before, but he gonna bring it home again now.
- 21:06But watch what he does now.
- 21:08"And the disciples came and said unto him,'Why speaketh thou unto them in parables?'" Be careful now,'cause this is where I'm about to separate something for you.
- 21:22When I first read them parables, Jesus read it, Jesus was speaking to all of them.
- 21:29Right now, he ain't speaking to all of them.
- 21:31He's only speaking to his disciples and his true followers privately.
- 21:38They are not getting this word.
- 21:40Just like tonight, the world is not getting what I'm saying now.
- 21:44Even if they got it, they still couldn't understand it.
- 21:46Why?
- 21:47'Cause they, they can see, but they can't perceive what they saw.
- 21:49They can hear, but they can't understand what they is hearing.
- 21:52This is how powerful the spiritual relationship with the word is.
- 21:57Now we're going on now"Why speaketh thou to them," the religious people,"in parables?" He answered and said unto them,"Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
- 22:16For whosoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundantly.
- 22:24But whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he has." This is that worry now.
- 22:33Oh, we about to close it home now.
- 22:35We about to bring it on home now.
- 22:36"Therefore speak I to them in parable." To religious people, yeah, I'm gonna talk to y'all, but you're not gonna understand anyway.
- 22:43"Because they seeing see not, and hearing they hear not neither do they understand.
- 22:50And in them is fulfilled," what?
- 22:53"The prophecy of Isaiah." Isaiah spoke a prophecy hundreds of years before Jesus,"which saith,'By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand.
- 23:06And seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive.
- 23:09For this people heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have been closed.
- 23:19Lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.'" Oh man, this is so deep and so beautiful.
- 23:34"For verily I say unto you, that many prophets and righteous men have desired to see these things which and have not seen them.
- 23:44And to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them." Oh, then Jesus said,"Let me explain this.
- 23:50I know I done give you all these parables.
- 23:52Let me just make it simple.""Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
- 23:56When anyone heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then come the wicked one," we talking about Satan,"and cast, and casteth away that which was sown in their hearts.
- 24:10This is he which received seed by the wayside.
- 24:14But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and annoy with joy receiveth it.
- 24:26Yet, has he not root in himself, but endures for a while.
- 24:32For when tribulation or persecution ariseth," because what of the word,"by and by he is offended." That he, that could be a she, but they're offended because of persecution and tribulation.
- 24:49"He also that received seed-" Then we go into,"He that is not root in himself, but endures for a while, for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he's offended.
- 25:03He also that is received the seed among the thorns is he that hears the word, and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word and he becometh unfruitful.
- 25:16But he that receiveth seed into the good ground is he that hears the word and understandeth it, which also hears-- which also bears fruit and bring forth some 100-fold, some 60-fold, some 30." Jesus is just teaching you he's the king.
- 25:35Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.
- 25:37This kingdom is a way of living.
- 25:41This kingdom is understanding you have dominion.
- 25:45This kingdom is understanding righteousness, peace, and joy.
- 25:49This kingdom goes against what this world says.
- 25:53Not against the laws, against the moral implication of this world.
- 25:59This is a spiritual kingdom, and that's why he told the disciple,"Yeah, I want you to understand you are not like them.
- 26:09I speak to you plainly because they will never receive this." That's the difference, and that's why he says you gotta know the mystery of the kingdom of God.
- 26:21Oh, it was difficult, but we got through it.
- 26:23I hope you enjoy hearing the word of God, the kingdom of God.
