- 0:07Speaker 1: It's time now for our community connection. Right here on
- 0:09Speaker 1: K one, the one you trust and on the phone
- 0:12Speaker 1: with me, we have Aaron Ashley, who is your healthcare
- 0:16Speaker 1: provider right next door to us at the Health and
- 0:19Speaker 1: Wellness Clinic.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Hey, how you doing today?
- 0:21Speaker 3: Erin, I'm great, Tom, how are you well?
- 0:23Speaker 1: Wonderful Now I'm talking to you bright Sten siety day
- 0:26Speaker 1: here in the neighborhood and good health to everyone. Now
- 0:30Speaker 1: you're brand new and I got to tell you got
- 0:32Speaker 1: the cool little building right here on the corner of
- 0:34Speaker 1: a Quapa and Frank Philip's right across the street from
- 0:36Speaker 1: us here. What services do you offer at the new
- 0:39Speaker 1: Health and Wellness Clinic.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yeah, so, like you mentioned, my name is Aaron. I
- 0:44Speaker 3: am one of the providers there. There's several other providers
- 0:46Speaker 3: that help us out seeing patients there. But we offer
- 0:50Speaker 3: a variety of services. Really, we're a primary care clinic.
- 0:54Speaker 3: We also do a lot of acute needs so we
- 0:57Speaker 3: can walk in like urgent care needs. I'm also able
- 1:00Speaker 3: to provide women's health, women's preventive health, top smears and
- 1:04Speaker 3: things like that. We also offer hepsy treatment. We have
- 1:08Speaker 3: the ability to help with some psychiatric needs as well.
- 1:12Speaker 3: In our building it's small but mighty. We do have
- 1:15Speaker 3: the ability to draw labs if you're coming in for
- 1:19Speaker 3: an urgent care need. We have the ability to do
- 1:21Speaker 3: a lot of point of care testing, your analysis, COVID
- 1:25Speaker 3: flu it's you know, six season is here. A lot
- 1:27Speaker 3: of people are not feeling well. We can test for
- 1:30Speaker 3: all of those things right there in our clinic well erin.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I guess maybe the question should have been what don't
- 1:35Speaker 1: you do? Because wow, you.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Do a lot we do.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Like I said, our building is small but mighty, we
- 1:41Speaker 3: really can help with really a large variety of healthcare needs.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I got you got some muscle there. We're speaking with
- 1:48Speaker 1: Aaron Ashley and she is with us here with Health
- 1:51Speaker 1: and Wellness Clik right next door to the radio station
- 1:54Speaker 1: in bartles Field. Now, you have a unique business model
- 1:56Speaker 1: here and operating model too. Can you explain to us
- 1:59Speaker 1: out works we do.
- 2:02Speaker 3: So we have what we call a hybrid medicine model.
- 2:04Speaker 3: So we have our clinic there and there are some
- 2:07Speaker 3: days that I am on site seeing patients in person.
- 2:11Speaker 3: But we also have some really advanced healthcare technology inside
- 2:16Speaker 3: of our clinic. So we have a telehealth system where
- 2:20Speaker 3: even if I'm not on site, I can still listen
- 2:22Speaker 3: to heart and lunks. I have the ability of needed
- 2:25Speaker 3: to do a full ear, nose and throat exam with
- 2:28Speaker 3: our specialty tools that are hooked up to cameras. We've
- 2:31Speaker 3: highly trained staff that can help, and sure we're still
- 2:34Speaker 3: doing thorough examinations. So really, what this allows us to
- 2:38Speaker 3: do is it allows us to be able to see
- 2:40Speaker 3: more patients, be able to open more hours because we
- 2:44Speaker 3: have this hybrid model.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Wow, this is really good.
- 2:47Speaker 1: You've got a lot of the traditional and of course
- 2:50Speaker 1: the cutting edge of modern that's the best of both worlds.
- 2:53Speaker 2: You got some support staff. I've seen the folks out
- 2:56Speaker 2: and about. Tell us a little bit about your support staff.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Yes, we have two amazing nurses. When we were hiring
- 3:04Speaker 3: for these positions, you know, was very intentional to hire
- 3:09Speaker 3: two people that were from the community and that care
- 3:12Speaker 3: deeply about the community. And I'll tell you we've definitely
- 3:15Speaker 3: found them. Katie and Rachelle are They're great. They care
- 3:18Speaker 3: so much about their patients, their patients well being, They
- 3:21Speaker 3: advocate for their patients and they really do care deeply
- 3:24Speaker 3: about the community. They're out in the community helping with
- 3:27Speaker 3: marketing and really just helping reach those people out there
- 3:30Speaker 3: that need access to healthcare and just let them know
- 3:33Speaker 3: that we are here. We are here to serve them,
- 3:35Speaker 3: and so I couldn't be more proud of the support
- 3:38Speaker 3: stuff we have.
- 3:39Speaker 2: We're speaking with Aaron Ashley.
- 3:40Speaker 1: She's one of the healthcare providers with the new health
- 3:42Speaker 1: and Wellness clinic right here in Barbiblesville, right across the
- 3:45Speaker 1: street from the radio station here at Frank Phillips and Quappa.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Now you have.
- 3:51Speaker 1: You know, you're a little bit different than other primary clinics,
- 3:55Speaker 1: and it seems like a lot of people are looking
- 3:58Speaker 1: for maybe something that'll via a special niche How are
- 4:02Speaker 1: you different than other primary clinics.
- 4:05Speaker 3: I would say one thing that we really pride ourselves
- 4:08Speaker 3: on is our exceptional customer service. You know, sometimes that's
- 4:12Speaker 3: difficult to find in the healthcare community. We all know
- 4:15Speaker 3: it's the healthcare world is inundated and overwhelmed, but we
- 4:19Speaker 3: really do try to not lose sight of the customer
- 4:22Speaker 3: service that we can provide to our patients, you know,
- 4:25Speaker 3: and that looks like returning phone calls in a timely manner,
- 4:28Speaker 3: making sure that we are clearly communicating patient results or
- 4:33Speaker 3: ensuring that patients have access to the resources that they need.
- 4:37Speaker 3: We really just try to go above and beyond for
- 4:40Speaker 3: every patient. So that is one thing that we really
- 4:43Speaker 3: pride ourselves on is offering that exceptional customer service. Another
- 4:47Speaker 3: thing is we are open seven days a week. So
- 4:49Speaker 3: it's hard to find a primary care clinic that's opened
- 4:51Speaker 3: seven days a week, but we are open seven days
- 4:53Speaker 3: a week, and we always have same day appointments. Really
- 4:57Speaker 3: our mindset is we will never turn away a walk
- 5:00Speaker 3: in patient, and so those are a couple of things
- 5:03Speaker 3: that definitely differentiate us from other primary.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Client my goodness, accessibility, and of course being willing to
- 5:11Speaker 1: get that information back out to the patient as quickly
- 5:13Speaker 1: as possible. That's amazing. Those are great steps. That is
- 5:17Speaker 1: one thing that a lot of customers would say they
- 5:21Speaker 1: might be missing elsewhere. You are a FQHC. Now I'm
- 5:30Speaker 1: not the sharpest knife in the door, so I don't
- 5:32Speaker 1: know what that is. Can you explain that to me
- 5:35Speaker 1: and explain that to everyone else out there? And what
- 5:37Speaker 1: does it mean for patients?
- 5:39Speaker 3: By the way, Yeah, So an fqh C stands for
- 5:42Speaker 3: a federally qualified health center, all right, And essentially what
- 5:46Speaker 3: that means is that we do receive some federal funding
- 5:49Speaker 3: and the reason we receive that funding is it allows
- 5:51Speaker 3: us to see patients who are uninsured at a lower cost.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Oh good, So.
- 5:56Speaker 3: If somebody does not have insurance, we have a sliding
- 5:59Speaker 3: scale that is based on annual income and the amount
- 6:02Speaker 3: of people in the home. And so really what that
- 6:05Speaker 3: federally qualified health center means is we can help provide
- 6:09Speaker 3: care to those who don't have the insurance coverage to
- 6:12Speaker 3: help cover those healthcare costs. And so we definitely encourage
- 6:16Speaker 3: if somebody doesn't have health insurance and they think that
- 6:19Speaker 3: healthcare isn't affordable for them, you know, we encourage you
- 6:22Speaker 3: to give us a call and let us see if
- 6:24Speaker 3: we can get you some numbers of what it might
- 6:26Speaker 3: cost for you to be seen in our clinic at
- 6:28Speaker 3: a reduced rate. But we do still take commercial insurances.
- 6:32Speaker 3: We take most commercial insurance plans. There's a few exceptions
- 6:36Speaker 3: that we do take most of them, and then we
- 6:38Speaker 3: take all Medicare and Medicaid product plans as well.
- 6:42Speaker 1: My goodness sakes, Aaron Ashley, you are busy, and you
- 6:46Speaker 1: guys are open seven days a week, and there's You've
- 6:49Speaker 1: opened your doors to anybody and everybody. Wow, that's great.
- 6:52Speaker 1: You want to talk about being a good part of
- 6:55Speaker 1: our neighborhood that has been long overdue. Well, we're talking
- 6:59Speaker 1: about Health and Wellness Clinic right here in Bartblesfield.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Now here's the big thing we've heard about.
- 7:05Speaker 1: All the different services you offer and the fact that
- 7:08Speaker 1: you're wide open to a lot of different types of
- 7:11Speaker 1: potential patients. Now, how can we get a hold of
- 7:14Speaker 1: you to make an appointment? How can we reach you?
- 7:19Speaker 3: Absolutely? So, you know, anybody that is in the community
- 7:22Speaker 3: looking for healthcare needs, either for chronic health conditions or
- 7:27Speaker 3: your woke up just not feeling well this morning, you
- 7:29Speaker 3: can definitely make an appointment with us, come in and
- 7:32Speaker 3: see us. You know, you can just stop by. Like
- 7:35Speaker 3: I mentioned earlier, we do not require an appointment. We
- 7:39Speaker 3: take walk in and so you really can just walk
- 7:42Speaker 3: in and be seen. You can walk in any time
- 7:45Speaker 3: during our normal operating hours and be seen. You can
- 7:50Speaker 3: also give us a call we have somebody, Like I said,
- 7:54Speaker 3: were there seven days a week. Our hours are Monday
- 7:56Speaker 3: through Friday seven am to seven pm, a open early
- 8:00Speaker 3: before people have to be at work and wait after
- 8:03Speaker 3: people are getting off work, and then we are open
- 8:06Speaker 3: on Saturday and Sunday nine to five. You can reach
- 8:10Speaker 3: one of our girls there at five three nine three
- 8:12Speaker 3: three seven zero zero zero six.
- 8:16Speaker 1: But yeah, you can.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Either just stop by or give us a call and
- 8:18Speaker 3: you'd be happy to help you.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Wow.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Wait, do you have a Facebook or a website presence
- 8:22Speaker 1: that folks maybe look you up.
- 8:24Speaker 3: You can look us up on our website as just
- 8:27Speaker 3: Helping HWC Wellness dot com.
- 8:32Speaker 2: I believe Okay, that sounds good.
- 8:34Speaker 3: And then our Facebook page is Stigler Help and Wellness.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Our corporate office is out of Stigler. So yeah, that's
- 8:40Speaker 3: where that Wheretnip name comes from.
- 8:42Speaker 1: All right, that's cool, that's really cool. First of all,
- 8:44Speaker 1: welcome to the neighborhood. You know, when you guys were
- 8:46Speaker 1: building that, laying down the landscape, our window here at
- 8:49Speaker 1: the studio and the top floor with our guys were
- 8:53Speaker 1: just constantly going wonder what that's gonna be, Wonder what
- 8:56Speaker 1: that's gonna be? Wow, look at that, and they're really
- 8:58Speaker 1: caught a lot of people's entry is ass going up
- 9:01Speaker 1: now that you've been open and established in just a
- 9:03Speaker 1: few weeks ago, you have the big ribbon cutting with
- 9:05Speaker 1: the Chamber of Commerce. Doors have been open, you've been
- 9:08Speaker 1: seeing patients. It looks like you guys are off to
- 9:10Speaker 1: a great start.
- 9:12Speaker 3: We really are. Yeah, we had a great ribbon cutting ceremony.
- 9:15Speaker 3: I'm definitely thankful for the Chamber for coordinating that for us.
- 9:19Speaker 3: We had a great presence of city councilors, the mayor
- 9:22Speaker 3: was there, a couple of other business representatives in town.
- 9:25Speaker 3: We also had some representatives come from the state actually
- 9:29Speaker 3: who are a part of the SQHD program. So, you know,
- 9:33Speaker 3: this model is really exciting for Oklahoma. You know, we
- 9:36Speaker 3: have a lot of potential growth on the horizon to
- 9:39Speaker 3: continue to expand access to healthcare in Oklahoma, specifically really
- 9:45Speaker 3: targeting some of those rural communities where maybe there's a
- 9:48Speaker 3: lack of health care access for patients. So things are
- 9:51Speaker 3: going great in Bartlesville. We've been open for a couple
- 9:53Speaker 3: of months and we are just really excited about being
- 9:57Speaker 3: able to provide this care to the community of Bartlesville.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Well erin Ashley, thank you very much for being with
- 10:02Speaker 1: us today and thanks for sharing a little bit of
- 10:04Speaker 1: the inside scoop with what's going on with our new
- 10:06Speaker 1: neighbors here with health and Wellness Clinic here in Bartlesville.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Great success is yours in a waiting and it looks
- 10:15Speaker 1: like you've got quite a few patients today.
- 10:17Speaker 2: So you guys are off and running and doing fine.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Welcome to the neighborhood and we'll be visiting with you
- 10:24Speaker 1: again shortly. Great.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Thank you so much. We're happy to be in Bartlesville
- 10:28Speaker 3: and we're really excited to extend high quality healthcare to
- 10:31Speaker 3: the community.

- 10:34Speaker 1: on one on one with.
- 10:35Speaker 2: The pro I'm k one.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Thank you Tom.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Alrighty, well, I tell you what that's great. When you
- 10:40Speaker 1: got neighbors like that, they take care of you too.
- 10:42Speaker 2: They know
