Speaker 1: let's do this. So John chapter four, and we're gonna

Speaker 1: start start off in verse one. We're gonna go to

Speaker 1: verse one and two. Therefore, when the Lord knew that

Speaker 1: the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more

Speaker 1: disciples than John, now here is the ops right, the

Speaker 1: opposition the Pharisees. We're gonna see a lot of opposition

Speaker 1: through the ministry the life of Christ. Verse two. Though

Speaker 1: Jesus himself did not baptize, but his disciples. And I

Speaker 1: think that's amazing. How Jesus knew how to delegate, he

Speaker 1: knew how to pour in, he knew how to build

Speaker 1: up the men, his followers, the people that were a

Speaker 1: part of his ministry. Verse three, he left Judah and

Speaker 1: he parted again to Galilee. Okay, so we see some

Speaker 1: movement here right now. John makes it clear himself that

Speaker 1: he wasn't. Then you say that again. John made it

Speaker 1: clear Jesus himself wasn't doing the baptizing. Like he made

Speaker 1: a point to say that, hey, his disciples were baptizing.

Speaker 1: This was to avoid elevating human pride. No one could

Speaker 1: boast I was baptized by Jesus himself. Well, can you

Speaker 1: hear that? Imagine someone saying that, like Jesus himself baptized me,

Speaker 1: even here, Jesus shows humility and he shows wisdom. Sometimes

Speaker 1: leadership means empowering others to do the work and taking

Speaker 1: take advantage. No, we got to work together, right. There's

Speaker 1: a process of being discipled. There's a process there. You

Speaker 1: don't want to just take anyone's name and just put

Speaker 1: their brand on you and do what you want, right.

Speaker 1: That's why there's company policies and procedures for every company

Speaker 1: that you work for. There's a way you have to

Speaker 1: conduct yourself in order to work there, all right, Verse

Speaker 1: departed again to Galilee, but he needed to go through Samiria. Now,

Speaker 1: most Jews avoided Samaria because of cultural hatred, basically racism.

Speaker 1: But yeah, Jesus needed to go that he need. You see,

Speaker 1: it wasn't the geography as the reason why he needed

Speaker 1: to go. It wasn't because he had to to create

Speaker 1: his own path, but it was more of a spiritual need.

Speaker 1: He had a divine appointment he needed to go to.

Speaker 1: Now this reminds us the people that we avoid are

Speaker 1: often the very ones God is sending us to. Let

Speaker 1: me say that again, the people that others avoid are

Speaker 1: just because other people may avoid them, just because other

Speaker 1: people may hate on them, doesn't mean God doesn't want

Speaker 1: us to go and minister and do a work and man,

Speaker 1: all right, verse five and six. So he came to

Speaker 1: a city of Samaria, which just called Sychar, near the

Speaker 1: plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

Speaker 1: Now Jacob's will was there. Jesus, therefore, being wearied from

Speaker 1: his journey, sat thus by the well. It was about

Speaker 1: the sixth hour. Okay, Now it's interesting that Jesus became

Speaker 1: weary from his journey. I can relate to that, Like

Speaker 1: it's good to travel. I love to catch a plane

Speaker 1: or to drive go out of town. My wife and

Speaker 1: I we love to travel. We just took our first

Speaker 1: cruise together this year. It was amazing. Can't wait to

Speaker 1: take the next one. But hey, we get weary, like

Speaker 1: sometimes I can't wait to get to my hotel room

Speaker 1: and relax and get that nap, get that nap in

Speaker 1: that power nap, you know. And so this is what

Speaker 1: Jesus was experiencing now, his humidity, his humanity. The humanity

Speaker 1: of Jesus shines right here. He was weary. He was

Speaker 1: fully God, yet fully man. Right that gives us a

Speaker 1: personal insight. He was fully God, but yet he was

Speaker 1: fully man. The Bible says that he emptied himself of

Speaker 1: his deity to become a man, so he can completely

Speaker 1: relate to all of us. Amen. Sometimes ministry happens in

Speaker 1: your weaknesses. Think about that. Don't wait until you feel strong,

Speaker 1: until you feel better to be used by God. Sometimes

Speaker 1: when you're weary is where we hit that divine appointment.

Speaker 1: Sometimes we have to get up, even when we're retired,

Speaker 1: to go out and winess to go pass out flyers

Speaker 1: to go pray for somebody or whatever we may be

Speaker 1: dealing with. They have issues in our marriage, issues at

Speaker 1: home with our children. God still wants us to be

Speaker 1: able to minister. Amen. That's food for thought right there.

Speaker 1: That's discipleship. Not living by our feelings or our emotions,

Speaker 1: but by where to God. Amen. That just encouraged me. Hallelujah.

Speaker 1: All right. Let's take seven through nine. A woman of

Speaker 1: Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, give

Speaker 1: me a drink, for his disciples had gone away into

Speaker 1: the city to buy food. Then the woman of Samaria

Speaker 1: said to him, how is it that you, being a Jew,

Speaker 1: asked a drink from me, a Samaritan woman, for the
13:11
Speaker 1: Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. Wow, that's even sad.

Speaker 1: Even the history behind that. I would like to go
13:21
Speaker 1: in depth in that, maybe on another podcast or something.

Speaker 1: But this is if you remember, there was a Northern
13:28
Speaker 1: and Southern kingdom in Israel after King Solomon died, and

Speaker 1: the Samaritans are basically from the Northern Kingdom, and they
13:39
Speaker 1: were overtaken by Samaria and they were just captured and
13:46
Speaker 1: brutalized and stuff like that, and so these are their brothers,
13:49
Speaker 1: they're legitimate. But then they were mixed with other races
13:54
Speaker 1: and so they considered them like they're not pure Jews,

Speaker 1: and so they shunned them. And so there was a

Speaker 1: whole history. It's very interesting. So I encourage you everyone

Speaker 1: listening to this podcast to study it, look into it,

Speaker 1: learn a little background about what's going on here with

Speaker 1: the Samaritans and Jews. Amen. Now, when Jesus sat there

Speaker 1: and he began to speak to this woman, this broke

Speaker 1: three cultural barriers, right, men speaking to women and there

Speaker 1: was alone. They were alone. Keep in mind the disciples left,

Speaker 1: so he's alone one on one with this woman, a

Speaker 1: Jew speaking to a Samaritan, which we just talked about

Speaker 1: what was going on, and a rabbi speaking to a sinner.

Speaker 1: Right back then, in that culture, these things just would

Speaker 1: not have and there were so many reasons to divide

Speaker 1: and to kind of throw people to the wayside. Right now,

Speaker 1: Jesus goes where religion won't hallelujah, that's the praise right there.

Speaker 1: Let me say that again. Jesus will go where religion

Speaker 1: religious people won't go. He talks to the overlooked, and

Speaker 1: to the rejected, and to the broken, hallelujah. He talks

Speaker 1: to them, He hangs out with him, he spends time

Speaker 1: with them, to rejected, the overlooked, the people in society

Speaker 1: who have been basically thrown away. And people will go

Speaker 1: out of their way to mock, to lie on you,

Speaker 1: to stab you in the back, to do all these things.

Speaker 1: They figured. They don't want you. You're not qualified, you're

Speaker 1: not skillful enough, you're not smart enough, whatever reason they

Speaker 1: used to come against you. Jesus says, you know what

Speaker 1: I want? That one, that's the very one that I want.

Speaker 1: That's the one I want to spend time with. Amen.

Speaker 1: And this is my story, hallelujah. Although I've been rejected,

Speaker 1: I have been accepted by Christ Jesus, our Lord. Amen.

Speaker 1: All right, chapter verse ten, let's go to verse ten.

Speaker 1: It looks like you lost another one. Jesus answered and

Speaker 1: said to her, if you knew the gift of God

Speaker 1: and who it is who says to you, give me

Speaker 1: a drink, you would have asked him and he would

Speaker 1: have given you living water. And man. Now this is powerful. Now,

Speaker 1: let's take an insight of Jesus and how he is

Speaker 1: able to meet every need that we have in our lives. Amen,

Speaker 1: It's amazing and a powerful and a wonderful thing to

Speaker 1: walk with Jesus and have a relationship with him. Now.

Speaker 1: The living water is eternal life given freely by Jesus Christ. Amen,

Speaker 1: life is found in him. This is our life now.

Speaker 1: But this is deep. We're often chasing water that won't

Speaker 1: satisfy us. We're often chasing the water that will allow
17:36
Speaker 1: us to thirst again. And He's going to touch on that.

Speaker 1: How many times have we chased the world thinking that

Speaker 1: it was going to meet some particular need and it doesn't.

Speaker 1: If I get this car, or if I buy this house,

Speaker 1: or if I marry this person, if I get this job,

Speaker 1: if I get this degree, if I get that other

Speaker 1: and I've been on both sides, Like I've said before,

Speaker 1: I've been I've had a successful business. I've had events

Speaker 1: where the building was packed, where you couldn't find enough

Speaker 1: chairs to sit the people. I've been on the news,

Speaker 1: I've been on TV. You know, There's been things that
18:20
Speaker 1: I've accomplished. And now I'm actually getting my first degree.

Speaker 1: I'm getting my socialist degree. I have a trade in construction.

Speaker 1: I know how to work with my hands. I have

Speaker 1: a radio station, a podcast network. I have a lot

Speaker 1: of stuff, but and doesn't satisfy. Only Jesus gives us

Speaker 1: the water that quenches forever. I would not trade anything

Speaker 1: for my relationship. But Jesus Christ, Amen, all right, I

Speaker 1: said eleven and twelve. The woman said to him, Sir,

Speaker 1: I have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep.

Speaker 1: Where then do I get that living water? Are you

Speaker 1: greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well

Speaker 1: and drank from it himself, as well as his son's

Speaker 1: and his livestock. Hey, man, this is a good question.

Speaker 1: This is a normal human response. Right. She doesn't know

Speaker 1: who she's talking to right now, but this is a

Speaker 1: normal human response. She is thinking physically, but Jesus is

Speaker 1: speaking to her of spiritual thirst. Kind of reminds me

Speaker 1: of Nicodemus. You know, when Jesus said to be born again,

Speaker 1: Nicodemus went straight to the natural. He's like, how can

Speaker 1: a man be born again when he's old, can enter

Speaker 1: a second time into his mother's womb? And so we

Speaker 1: are so natural? We are natural people, right, But Jesus

Speaker 1: always wants to bring us to the spiritual. Now, how

Speaker 1: many times do we miss the move of God because

Speaker 1: we're stuck in the natural? Wow, let me say this again.

Speaker 1: How many times do you and I miss the move

Speaker 1: of God because they're stuck in the natural. This, right

Speaker 1: here can be the only marital counsel you in need.

Speaker 1: Right because you're stuck in the natural, You're stuck in reality.

Speaker 1: You're looking at the situation and circumstances. God always says

Speaker 1: walk by faith and not by sight. I've been in

Speaker 1: situations and I'm going through a situation now to where

Speaker 1: if I don't put on my glasses and look through faith,

Speaker 1: look through the eyes of Christ, I would be very discouraged.

Speaker 1: And I believe I'm speaking for everyone else because look

Speaker 1: at the state of the world. Look at how many

Speaker 1: people right now are getting laid off of their jobs.

Speaker 1: Look at how many people are struggling. People are losing

Speaker 1: their homes, people can't sell or buy a home, and

Speaker 1: all this stuff. The governments are turning against us, like

Speaker 1: there's nowhere where we can go and get help. Well, beloved,

Speaker 1: it's only because we have to put on our faith glasses,

Speaker 1: and we have to seek and engage God, and we
21:41
Speaker 1: have to see Okay, what are you doing? Because God promised, right,

Speaker 1: we're into covenant with them. He promised that the righteous

Speaker 1: will not beg for bread. There's some covenant promises that

Speaker 1: He's made for us, and so we need to tap

Speaker 1: into those promises and trust God to be the provide

Speaker 1: her to protect her. He has a plan, and we

Speaker 1: know the number one plan is rapture. Right, He's coming

Speaker 1: back for his church. So the priority is to every

Speaker 1: day live like Jesus is coming every day. You gotta

Speaker 1: be ready, amen. All right, where we're at thirteen and fourteen,

Speaker 1: Jesus said to her, whosoever drinks of this water will

Speaker 1: thirst again. Amen. But whoever drinks of the water that

Speaker 1: I shall give him will never thirst. But the water

Speaker 1: that I shall give him will become in him a

Speaker 1: fountain of water springing up into ever lasting life. Now

Speaker 1: this is a radical statement, a powerful statement. Not just

Speaker 1: a mere man can make the statement. Can you imagine

Speaker 1: someone coming to you. You would think he was a lunatic, crazy,

Speaker 1: a con artist, Like what you can give me? What?

Speaker 1: Only God, only the Son of God, can make this statement. Hallelujah.

Speaker 1: That's why Jesus is more than just a prophet. And

Speaker 1: we talked about this a second ago, so I'm not

Speaker 1: gonna go too deep into it. I just want to

Speaker 1: mention that this is the essence of the gospel satisfaction

Speaker 1: in Christ alone. Only Christ can satisfy our souls. Now,

Speaker 1: we live in a thirsty world, right, even that term thirsty.

Speaker 1: He's thirsty, she's thirsty. But Jesus says, I am the answer.

Speaker 1: He is the one, the only one that can quench

Speaker 1: that thirst. Hallelujah, all right. Fifteen through eighteen. The woman

Speaker 1: said to him, Sir, give me this water that I

Speaker 1: may not thirst nor come here to draw. Jesus said

Speaker 1: to her, go call your husband and come again. And

Speaker 1: the woman said and answered, I have no husband. Jesus

Speaker 1: said to her, you have well said I have no husband,

Speaker 1: or you have had five husbands, and the one whom

Speaker 1: you are now, the one who you now have, is

Speaker 1: not your husband. And that you spoke truly. Wow. Now

Speaker 1: Jesus just blew her mind with that prophetic word. Amen.

Speaker 1: Now Jesus reveals truth gently but directly. To remember, truth

Speaker 1: is always mixed and mingled with love. But he puts

Speaker 1: his finger on her wound. He knows that this woman

Speaker 1: was pretty much taken advantage of, advantage of by men.

Speaker 1: She's had five husbands and finally she just gave up

Speaker 1: and says, forget about marriage. How many people do you

Speaker 1: see today. They don't know how to navigate marriage. I

Speaker 1: don't even know what marriage is about or what it's for.

Speaker 1: And you see marriages just ending tragically. If we don't
25:40
Speaker 1: have Jesus, if we don't have God in the center

Speaker 1: of our relationships, then this is basically inevitable. Even if
25:50
Speaker 1: you're stuck in a marriage, it could be hell on
25:54
Speaker 1: earth if we don't do it God's way and man, Now,

Speaker 1: real transformation comes when Jesus exposed the real us. That's

Speaker 1: when we really get touched. That's when we really can repent.

Speaker 1: That's when we can really get help. But he still

Speaker 1: offers grace. Now, this keeps in mind, brings to mind

Speaker 1: to me that Jesus one day is going to judge

Speaker 1: the world. He's going to judge our lives, and he's

Speaker 1: going to expose the truth. But on that day grace

Speaker 1: will not be available. We need to go to Jesus

Speaker 1: now while there is still grace available when he goes

Speaker 1: through our lives. And that's basically like I keep saying,

Speaker 1: where accountability comes in and helps us. We want to

Speaker 1: get this right before you mean him on that day

Speaker 1: and have some stuff, some skeletons in the closet, right

Speaker 1: because he can see right through that closet amen verse nineteen.

Speaker 1: We're gonna take it nineteen and twenty. The woman said

Speaker 1: to him, Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.

Speaker 1: Our father's worshiped on this mountain, and you jew say

Speaker 1: that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.

Speaker 1: So now she's changed her tone. She's talking about she

Speaker 1: doesn't have a husband. You know, a lot of commentaries

Speaker 1: say that she was a flirt, she was flirting with

Speaker 1: him that you know, this is a very moral woman,

Speaker 1: that she has a reputation, all this stuff, and you know,

Speaker 1: I mean it could be possible, you know, she could

Speaker 1: have mentioned, well, I don't have a husband. I got

Speaker 1: a boyfriend. But she just said, hey, I don't have

Speaker 1: a husband. But now everything shifts here. He prophesies. He

Speaker 1: looks into her life. And I've been in very various

Speaker 1: ministries where I've had people who prophesied into my life

Speaker 1: and spoke the word, spoke on things that I've dealt

Speaker 1: with right, and they just read my mail like that

Speaker 1: is an amazing gift and I would like to flow

Speaker 1: in that even more. Now it shifts and she starts talking,

Speaker 1: you know, about religion or culture, or she's trying to

Speaker 1: talk about spiritual things. So she tries to shift the
