- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey, what's up everybody? Welcome into another edition of the
- 0:12Speaker 1: Checho Deli. It's Andrew to check O, Eagles beat reporter
- 0:15Speaker 1: for insidethebirds dot com, and it's Friday, which means it
- 0:19Speaker 1: was the final day that the Eagles practiced this week
- 0:21Speaker 1: in preparation for Sunday's game, a one o'clock kickoff at
- 0:26Speaker 1: Lincoln Financial Field the Eagles and the Las Vegas Raiders.
- 0:31Speaker 1: And the weather could be interesting for this one because
- 0:34Speaker 1: last I looked, there supposed to be some snow expected
- 0:39Speaker 1: earlier in the day, perhaps even leading up to kickoff,
- 0:42Speaker 1: but obviously that's always subject to change. We'll have to
- 0:45Speaker 1: wait and see what that's all going to look like.
- 0:47Speaker 1: But there's also supposed to be a decent amount of wind,
- 0:50Speaker 1: so I'm curious to see if those dynamics impact either team.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Weather is sort of interesting and it plays a factor
- 0:57Speaker 1: in some of these cold weather games. Something to keep
- 1:00Speaker 1: an eye on a lot of forlimmer Eagles on the
- 1:05Speaker 1: Raiders right quarterback Kenny Pickett. Kenny Pickett played seven snaps
- 1:10Speaker 1: for the Eagles in Super Bowl fifty nine, and it's
- 1:13Speaker 1: been well documented, but Kenny grew up an Eagles fan,
- 1:17Speaker 1: so to get that experience must have been something that
- 1:21Speaker 1: was out of this world. And I actually had a
- 1:22Speaker 1: chance to ask Kenny about what that experience was like
- 1:26Speaker 1: when the Eagles hosted the Browns back in August for
- 1:30Speaker 1: some joint practices. I asked Kenny after one of those
- 1:33Speaker 1: practices about that, and he gave a good answers. I
- 1:36Speaker 1: reposted that that quote on my ex account and if
- 1:41Speaker 1: you want to read it, but he'll be returning, then
- 1:44Speaker 1: you also have on the defensive side, defensive tackle Thomas Booker.
- 1:48Speaker 1: He's playing a solid amount of snaps for that Raiders defense.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Linebacker Devin White, He's he had a brief tenure as
- 1:57Speaker 1: an Eagle, but accounts. There's also a safety Tristan McCollum
- 2:00Speaker 1: who's playing special teams for the Raiders and also sparingly
- 2:04Speaker 1: on defense. So a lot of familiar faces returning to
- 2:07Speaker 1: Lincoln Financial Field. The honorary captain in this game former
- 2:12Speaker 1: Eagles kicker David Acres, and for a Acres Raiders connection,
- 2:19Speaker 1: rewind it back to two thousand and five. When Acres
- 2:23Speaker 1: is kicking off, it's the opening kickoff. He reinjures his hamstring.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Long snapper Mike Bartram has to kick off for a
- 2:30Speaker 1: period of time in that game. Linebacker Mark Simino even
- 2:34Speaker 1: attempted at an extra point, but late in the game, with
- 2:37Speaker 1: about nine seconds left, the Eagles and Raiders were not
- 2:41Speaker 1: at a twenty. The Eagles had a chance to win
- 2:42Speaker 1: the game on a twenty three yard field goal and
- 2:44Speaker 1: Acres drills it and I just remember him sort of
- 2:47Speaker 1: grabbing his leg immediately after and sort of writhing in pain.
- 2:51Speaker 1: So that's my Eagles Raiders David Acres sort of connection there. Injury.
- 3:00Speaker 1: So today's the final injury report. The game status declares
- 3:06Speaker 1: that defensive tackle Jalen Carter's shoulders and right tackle Lane
- 3:11Speaker 1: Johnson are out. They were not They will not be
- 3:13Speaker 1: playing this week. Shouldn't be a surprise. They haven't been practicing.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Jalen Carter has listed as week to week. Lane Johnson
- 3:20Speaker 1: is an interesting one because the Eagles didn't play someone
- 3:23Speaker 1: injured reserve, so that suggested that there was a chance
- 3:27Speaker 1: that he could be available for this game. Obviously that
- 3:30Speaker 1: didn't happen. But for those wondering why not put them
- 3:34Speaker 1: on injury reserve, well, you don't put a player of
- 3:37Speaker 1: that caliber on injured reserve if you think there's even
- 3:40Speaker 1: a slim chance that they could return within that window,
- 3:43Speaker 1: so that's the reasoning for that. And then listed as
- 3:47Speaker 1: questionable tackle Cameron Williams, who had his twenty one day
- 3:50Speaker 1: practice window opened earlier this week. The good news, some
- 3:57Speaker 1: big news is that Fred Johnson and the Eagles right
- 4:00Speaker 1: tackle who popped up on Thursday's injury report, full participant
- 4:07Speaker 1: in Friday's practice, no injury designation going into the game.
- 4:10Speaker 1: He is good to go. Big news for the Eagles.
- 4:13Speaker 1: There he will be starting at right tackle again in
- 4:17Speaker 1: the absence of Lane Johnson. The Eagles also added activated
- 4:25Speaker 1: long snapper Charlie Hewlett to the fifty three man roster.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Charlie had his twenty one day practice window opened earlier
- 4:33Speaker 1: this week and he was Eagles long snapper for the
- 4:37Speaker 1: first four games. He suffered a core muscle injury that
- 4:41Speaker 1: put him on injured reserve. The Eagles signed Cal Atamitas
- 4:45Speaker 1: and he sort of held it down for until Hewlett
- 4:49Speaker 1: was able to get back. So Atamitas has been waived,
- 4:52Speaker 1: has since been waived, and Hewlett is now on the
- 4:55Speaker 1: fifty three. He's the Eagles long snapper and for what
- 4:58Speaker 1: it's worth, I know this may come off as a
- 5:01Speaker 1: mere footnote, but it is important to note. I feel
- 5:04Speaker 1: that for the four games, and I understand it's a
- 5:06Speaker 1: small sample size, that Jake Elliott was working with Charlie Hewlett,
- 5:12Speaker 1: it seemed like they had a little bit of a
- 5:13Speaker 1: chemistry there and that they were sort of in synchronicity,
- 5:19Speaker 1: if you will. And it's always it's honestly, it's hard
- 5:22Speaker 1: to evaluate, but you could look at the numbers. They
- 5:24Speaker 1: certainly bear it out that Jake was more effective when
- 5:27Speaker 1: Charlie was a long snapper. I don't know if there's
- 5:29Speaker 1: any correlation, but it is something to point out and
- 5:34Speaker 1: something that could impact the Special teams in a positive way.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Hey, it's Jeff Mosher. And if you have a family

- 8:23Speaker 1: I don't know what the Eagles are gonna do this
- 8:24Speaker 1: week in terms of practice, but I just, I mean,
- 8:30Speaker 1: you have to acknowledge what Andre sam has done with
- 8:33Speaker 1: his opportunities. He has one elevation left, but he's been
- 8:36Speaker 1: making big plays on well. He made a really big
- 8:39Speaker 1: play on special teams Monday night, and you could argue
- 8:43Speaker 1: that the Eagles need the safety depth there and someone
- 8:47Speaker 1: to be able to take on those special team snaps.
- 8:49Speaker 1: But I don't know what they're gonna do with elevations,
- 8:51Speaker 1: but I just wanted to take that opportunity to acknowledge
- 8:54Speaker 1: Andre and the job that he did. But for now,
- 8:57Speaker 1: that's gonna do it for this edition of the Czech
- 8:59Speaker 1: O Daily, I'm Andrew to checko and I will catch
