- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning.
- 0:29From the chicken coop. Today we're talking about mini
- 0:32vacations. Why are we talking about mini
- 0:35vacations? Because we all have the
- 0:36opportunity on our days off to decide how we want to utilize
- 0:42that time. And I'm going to give you a
- 0:45great example of something that happened this week because I
- 0:48think this is just incredibly important.
- 0:50So I live in an area that's very has opportunity to do things all
- 0:54the time. And I.
- 0:57Often don't take advantage of that because I'm doing
- 1:01gardening, I'm writing, I'm recording, I'm with my family.
- 1:03We're doing stuff. But doing different things is
- 1:06not something that I'm actually very good at, because I will get
- 1:10in my routines and I will stick to my routines and I know that
- 1:13about myself. So I have to actually think
- 1:16about it. I have to actually put it out
- 1:17there and plan it so that I will do it.
- 1:20So this past week there was this, I get this little
- 1:24newsletter that comes out every day about the area and I opened
- 1:27it and there was a little blurb in there about basket weaving
- 1:31and I was like basket weaving. Wow, that sounds really cool.
- 1:34I would love to know how to do that.
- 1:36Maybe I'll make an A basket to hold the eggs.
- 1:39And my brain went all down this road.
- 1:40So I I start looking it up and I see that it's on Sunday
- 1:44afternoon and I'm like, OK, Sunday afternoon I'm going to,
- 1:47I'm going to jump in and I'm going to do this basket weaving
- 1:51class and I'm going to go see what it's all about.
- 1:53And so I asked my daughter if she wants to go.
- 1:56And I'm like all excited and I'm like, OK, I'm going to book it
- 1:59and I'm going to go. And I said, wow, this feels like
- 2:02I'm actually being a tourist in my own town.
- 2:05And it's such a powerful thing because it.
- 2:07Made me feel like I was interrupting the pattern of my
- 2:12typical weekend time and I started thinking about how I
- 2:16needed to share this with all of you because we spend so much.
- 2:20Time prepping. Ourselves and talking to
- 2:25ourselves. I mean, listen, the most
- 2:27conversation you're ever going to have is the one that you have
- 2:29in your head and it's going to be non-stop.
- 2:31So you might as well get used to paying attention to what you're
- 2:34saying to yourself and how you're talking to yourself.
- 2:36But in our head it's like okay. Most of of my experience with
- 2:41clients is that they spend time on the weekend preparing for the
- 2:45next week. They're not necessarily
- 2:46regenerating, They're not necessarily taking mini
- 2:50vacations on their off time because they have so many things
- 2:55that they need. I'm air quoting this to get
- 2:57done. Before the week begins.
- 2:59Who can relate to this, right? Like you get off work and
- 3:02you're. Like Okay, I've got to go.
- 3:05Grocery shopping. I've got to do the laundry.
- 3:07I've got to make sure the house is clean.
- 3:09I've got to prep the. Meals for the week.
- 3:11I've got all these the I've. Got list.
- 3:14And the I've I've got list impedes on the the fun.
- 3:18List. Or the mini vacation.
- 3:21So it got me really thinking about how moving into this year
- 3:25and making this year be very successful.
- 3:28Wouldn't it be kind of cool to start looking at planning little
- 3:32mini vacations for yourself? Even if you can't do it every
- 3:35weekend, you could do it once a month.
- 3:38At the very least you could say OK, on this day, once a month I
- 3:41am going to be a tourist in my own town and I'm going to have
- 3:44fun doing so. That way I'll be able to
- 3:49regenerate myself. I'll be able to feel that energy
- 3:52come back into me. I won't feel so drained by it
- 3:55all. Because when you are draining
- 3:57yourself, when you are in the process of draining yourself
- 4:00every single day, working, working, working, working,
- 4:02working, working, you have to replenish that supply.
- 4:06Otherwise you just feel like crap and you're not bringing the
- 4:09best of the best with you to whatever you're doing.
- 4:11Trust me, I know that because I have to do those things.
- 4:15The real question is how do you regenerate yourself?
- 4:18And again, that goes back to a conversation we had a couple
- 4:21weeks ago about leveraging and making sure that you are putting
- 4:25people in place that can leverage it.
- 4:27Like silly things, order your groceries online, pull up now
- 4:30and you can have them just handed to you.
- 4:32And it it it is not a complicated process.
- 4:35You could sit on your couch and order your groceries and boom,
- 4:40all of a sudden you're all set and you don't have to take the
- 4:42time to go in the grocery store and save yourself a hunk of
- 4:45time. So think about that.
- 4:47Think about where you can create your mini vacations so you can
- 4:52work around it. Save yourself time.
- 4:54Save yourself aggravation. Put yourself into a better
- 4:57headspace for the coming week because you've actually
- 5:00replenished, regenerated, and done something wonderful for
- 5:04yourself. Absolutely wonderful.
- 5:07So I I personally, I get all the tourist stuff so that I can look
- 5:11at it. I get the newsletters, I get
- 5:13things delivered to my e-mail box all the time.
- 5:16Then I can look and say what's going on here.
- 5:19That way I know where I can jump out and have some fun.
- 5:23So be a tourist in your own town, create a mini vacation,
- 5:26Enjoy yourselves. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:29you have a blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 5:31Bye.
