- 0:02Today trending, what everyone talking about? Good morning, six o'clock and here
- 0:06is what you need to know. Pike and a Man in the morning,
- 0:13Pike Taylor, Oh my gosh, hello, I'm all echoe. Why what's
- 0:18going on here? Good morning? And hello? Because meat Pike, I
- 0:22just sound like a robot in my headphones right now, so it's a little
- 0:24distracting. We actually just got an ai voice of bike going here. This
- 0:29perfect. It's good to be here, guys, It's good. Be It's
- 0:31just so weird. It feels like it feels like I just took a long
- 0:34weekend, you know, like like three extended vacation, three year weekend,
- 0:39just three years on the beach, and here we are. We're back.
- 0:43I love it. It's so I've caught him wandering already this morning, just
- 0:47like around kind of like yep, okay, that's still here. Oh hey,
- 0:50yep, nothing's changed. Oh hey, same people in the morning.
- 0:53It's like it's all here. I found the coffee with a styrofoam cup.
- 0:57You know, I made this coffee for like ten years. I was like,
- 0:59guy may, but somebody had already made it. So I'm glad that
- 1:02role has changed. Jimmy gone, so somebody's now doing it. It's crazy.
- 1:06I love it. You guys, We're gonna have a great morning.
- 1:07We have so many fun things coming up here. At six to eleven,
- 1:10we will do a little Q and A with Pike. Well, uh yeah,
- 1:12we had an ask me anything on Facebook and we have a big announcement
- 1:17at seven to eleven. Already first day on the job and here we are
- 1:19just big announce in it. Yeah. I love it. Just it's very
- 1:22exciting. Some people think, oh, are you just saying that it's not
- 1:25really that big. Oh it's big. This is huge. It's a big
- 1:27daddy. I would give anything for what is coming. That's all I'm gonna.
- 1:33Well, that's not breadcrum him too much. And no, seriously,
- 1:36you guys like this is exciting for me. But yeah, I'm I'm jacked,
- 1:40guys. Amateur MMA fighter Sali Lipp who died in that two vehicle accident
- 1:46last weekend. She was twenty one years old, and her friends and family
- 1:49celebrated her life over the weekend. But Dana White actually sat down for a
- 1:53press conference over the weekend and one of the reporters asked him about it,
- 1:56and he was getting really choked up. Yeah, that hurt me bad.
- 2:00It messed me up for a few days. And uh, you know,
- 2:05tragic things happen every day. Um, that one, just that one,
- 2:08that one got me. And her mom went through her journal and was reading
- 2:14her journal at the end of every entry. She said, Dana White will
- 2:16know my name at the end of every entry. So I I, uh,
- 2:21yeah, I posted about her, and I've talked to her mom a
- 2:24couple of times. I leave her mom alone. I think I've been annoying
- 2:28her mom since I since I found out. But um, you know,
- 2:30I I did the best that I could do over the last several days to
- 2:37kind of um yeah, I'm not good with this kind of style. Man,
- 2:43isn't that just got wrenching? That's really cool and always used from Breckinridge.
- 2:47Yeah. Yeah, so a lot of mutual people just being from the
- 2:51area. Just the most horrific you know, accounts of people who were there
- 2:55on the scene. It's just such a sad situation. But the really cool
- 2:59that Dana White was it able to do that absolutely And on Saturday, Kelly
- 3:06Clarkson took to Instagram. It happened after we were talking on air on Friday,
- 3:12and Kelly Clarkson's team basically did exactly what happened to Ellen degenerous. They
- 3:15all said it was a toxic work environment. There was eleven people who are
- 3:20current and there's a few people who were former staff members that teamed up with
- 3:23Rolling Stones to do an expose about how toxic of a work environment, how
- 3:28bullied and intimidated. They felt like, is it someone with this time slot?
- 3:31Like what's going on? But it's interesting. Kelly Clarkson fired back,
- 3:36and she said, I love my team. The Kelly Clarkson Show is where
- 3:38I find so much love, and I want everybody to feel I don't want
- 3:43anybody to feel unheard or disrespected. She also went on to say, now
- 3:46that we're preparing to move to the East Coast, I'm more committed now than
- 3:50ever to ensure that everybody's happy on the team. I don't see it like
- 3:53with Allen, and I have no reason to say this Bellier, I can
- 3:55see it, you know. I can see her maybe real sucking, I
- 3:58don't know, ye, But with Elly, she's so nice, she is
- 4:00she just seems like the most likable person, and especially where she started on
- 4:04American Idol, and she's always had so much likability. So I don't know
- 4:09if it's Kelly Clarkson herself or it's just the people who are working behind the
- 4:12scenes. And that was kind of what ended up happening with Ellen. But
- 4:14it was your name that's getting drug through the mud because it's your show,
- 4:16you know, I think it is. And obviously me starting a new job
- 4:18today and having bounced around Giet, it's like everywhere it has something going on,
- 4:24something you could complain about, right of course, and people do they
- 4:27find it? Yeah, I don't know. I don't think that Kelly Clarkson
- 4:31is the person that they're talking about. I feel like it's more just the
- 4:34people around They chance the janitor and it is Britney Spears. Day you guys.
- 4:44TMZ is releasing this Britney Spears The Price of Freedom documentary tonight. It's
- 4:47going to be on Fox. And she has paid her lawyer. We found
- 4:51it over the weekend four million dollars in legal fees, mostly for the work
- 4:55that he's done after the conservatorship, and did so many legal fees have been
- 4:59paid that he just oh, I'll do a pro bono now, like she's
- 5:01given me so much money. I'm just it's whatever I need to do to
- 5:04finish off her stuff. It's no big deal because you've got four million dollars
- 5:09and you're fighting because everybody's trying to siphon money out of her. Yeah.
- 5:12You literally don't have to work again because of this lady. Yeah, and
- 5:15all the rich people now will come to him. It's kind of like just
- 5:18any of these celebrity Yes, and he was hard of that person before that.
- 5:23By the way, she was worth sixty million dollars when the conservatorship ended.
- 5:27In now teams, he's like, tonight, we'll tell you how much
- 5:30she's worth now. So apparently she's been blowing through a whole lot of money
- 5:33in just a couple of years. Well, I had like eight cents because
- 5:35we just played this song, right, yeah, yeah, Well the royalty
- 5:39is going on there all right. Weatherwise, today it's gonna be great,
- 5:42sunshine high. You have eighty pikes. You already have a tea time for
- 5:45today. I have a driving range session. We had to cancel the tea
- 5:48time after yesterday's round. Yeah, we're not ready for the course yet.
- 5:51No, No, we have the driving range though. Yeah we're not.
- 5:56You know, you think people think because I moved to Florida. That oh,
- 5:58this guy's gonna be like a pro. That's kind of what we were
- 6:00thinking, literally the opposite twenty facts. There's a lot of people asking questions
- 6:03if you were in Florida, even on air, or were you just golfing?
- 6:08Honestly, didn't golf that much. It's funny when you don't have people
- 6:11asking you to golf every day. You know, here I go like a
- 6:13thousand people text me you want to play? You on to play there.
- 6:15It's like, you know, Lauren, do you want to come again?
- 6:17She's like, no, not really. I'm like, okay, we won't
- 6:19come. All the more reason to be back. I know. Oh my
- 6:23gosh, you guys, I love it coming up here. At six to
- 6:25eleven, we're gonna just dive right in. There's a lot of people who
- 6:28have questions about what's been going on with you, Pike, and it's really
- 6:30crazy. I'm still it's just hitting me that I'm here, you know,
- 6:33based on like two months ago, I think the first time we talked to
- 6:35Manda about it. So there's a lot to discuss for sure, and we
- 6:39will do that at six to eleven. Today's Variety, Big ninety eight point
- 6:44seven coming now I'm gonna cry. It's Big ninety point seven. Today's Variety.
- 6:51It's Pike and Amanda in the morning. First time I got to say
- 6:55that. Wow, I love it. It is here. You guys,
- 6:57we've been talking about it, which feels like for once on end, and
- 7:00today is the day. A lot of people are dying to know. Amanda
- 7:02if you're resentful the fact that my name is first, but I think we
- 7:08both agree that it just sounds better. It's not like, oh, he's
- 7:12better, he's you know, he's the guy. No, it's oh I
- 7:15didn't even share this with you. I got a message from a lady about
- 7:17a week and a half ago, and she said, I don't understand.
- 7:20Well. First she the first question she asked was do you need a degree
- 7:24for radio? I'm like, I have one, but you don't need one.
- 7:27Yeah. In fact, I would encourage not. She'd go and wondering
- 7:31because I all the guys always have their names before you. So when it
- 7:38is now Pike and Amanda, I just figured he had more of a degree,
- 7:41like you had a Masterson radio over there, And that's why I wasn't
- 7:46able to be Amanda and Pike. But Amanda, and it's too much.
- 7:49I can't take it. Yeah, it's a lot, it's a mouthful.
- 7:51I do have a degree, but it's the most worthless day. It's just
- 7:55I just pay for it monthly, just for you know, still pay hands
- 7:58for that msum degree. Wow, I'm hoping I don't have to here.
- 8:01We'll see what that Supreme Court. I've been covering that one closely. Oh
- 8:07my goodness. Are we live on Facebook? Oh yeah, Facebook's thinking about
- 8:11it. It was working, but I got a black rotating screen right now,
- 8:16So well it sounds about right. So live on Facebook and people have
- 8:20questions. I know yesterday you had kind of posted a little Q and A
- 8:22because yes, you've been gone for three years, but a lot's change.
- 8:26Yeah. Well, and first of all, welcome if you're like new,
- 8:28because I feel bad if you're like, let's say, moved to Fargo two
- 8:31years ago, You're like, what the heck is all the hype about?
- 8:33What are people talking about this? Yeah? Well, my name is Pike.
- 8:37I grew up here in the Fargomord area. Graduated from Dilworth Gwinnen Felton
- 8:41High School, which is of course a lot of people know. It's one
- 8:43of the more prestigious high schools in the state. Yeah, Reels, the
- 8:48Go Rebels and uh. Yeah, so we started doing a morning show.
- 8:50I think we just saw on our Facebook memories. It was like eleven years
- 8:54ago, are you and I? We started in what twenty eleven, two
- 8:56thousand and nine, you were doing the drive by Breck when I rolled into
- 9:01town. Yeah, when I was in high school. Still and so a
- 9:03man and I worked together for years, obviously with our pal Jess. Yeah,
- 9:07and uh and then here we are, fast forward. I had moved
- 9:09to Florida to work in radio down there in Orlando, and then you guys
- 9:15had this opening come up and Amanda You called me. He said, Hey,
- 9:18what do you think about coming back? And I laughed for like he
- 9:22laughed out loud, because when I found out Jesse was leaving, I was
- 9:24crying and I called him like, hey, I need you to come back,
- 9:28and he just kind of was like, well, first, and I'm
- 9:31not laughing because I would never want to come back here. That's not it
- 9:33at all. It's just how my wife Lauren loves Florida, her dad lives
- 9:39there, and it was like, I'm not even gonna be able to bring
- 9:41this up. And turns out when I did bring it up to it for
- 9:43the first time, just to start feeling it out, putting it in her
- 9:46ear a little. Literally, it took about two weeks before I could even
- 9:50bring it up with without her crying. You know, it was just like
- 9:52that emotion. So I thought it was just dead in the water on arrival
- 9:56and like, there's no way he's going to come back. Oh my gosh,
- 9:58what are we gonna do. We gotta find somebody. And chemistry is
- 10:03like the number one thing when you're working with somebody in this job. That's
- 10:05what I think, Oh my gosh. And then you called me one day,
- 10:09You're like, so we've made some we made some. Yeah, we've
- 10:15made a little progress here, and I think we're gonna be able to make
- 10:18this work. And you should have seen me jump. I thought I jumped
- 10:22right out of my chair. I've ever seen you jump. It's not it's
- 10:26not now post appendix. I'm not ready for jumping, but give me a
- 10:31couple of weeks jumping. The stitches about came out last week when she was
- 10:35jumping. So we've got a guy, Nick Linder here saying juice been running
- 10:41on our golf BET's juice. Juice been running. You're talking about your husband
- 10:46for three years. Yeah. Yeah, he's referring to the money I owe
- 10:50him. The juice is running is and we're gonna kind of like keep rolling
- 10:56the money into another got it? Could I refuse to pay up? So
- 10:58no, we'll have to keep that juice running. Nick, Um, you're
- 11:03losing golf bets over there. I guess he remembers it that way, but
- 11:07I don't if Nick, if you need me to collect, just let me
- 11:11know. No, whatever I just started, let's get a paycheck in here.
- 11:15Then I'll think about Kay, I'm gonna face some other moving expenses first.
- 11:18Okay, Well, and that's what a lot of people want to know,
- 11:20the big move. How did it all go? Obviously we got you
- 11:22here, but you rolled right into town on Friday and we were at a
- 11:24Fargo Force game. Yeah, drop my name off. Never want to see
- 11:28that again. I drove a twenty foot you haul pulling my niece on Ultima
- 11:31Silver twenty eleven across the country through Atlanta, through the Smokey Mountains, through
- 11:39Saint Louis. I mean, it was just the worst experience because I'm like,
- 11:41oh no, I've never even driven a truck, you know, I'm
- 11:43a car guy. So the fact that they just give this to you and
- 11:46they go, hey, have at it. I'm like, do you have
- 11:48any like instructions or should I watch like a tutorial? No, it's go
- 11:52ahead, fund just get get going across the country. Oh my gosh,
- 11:56but no, I went actually way better than I was imagined. So yeah,
- 12:00we got here. Friday, Amanda's like, let's go to the fort.
- 12:01No. I actually this is how it went. I asked you if
- 12:05you wanted to go to the Force game. You said, na, just
- 12:07text me tomorrow, okay, yea, And then she calls me later she's
- 12:11like, yeah, one of our girlfriends said she's going to the Force game.
- 12:13Are you guys still don't like? Okay, you didn't work exactly what
- 12:16ended up happening too. I See. I thought here we would have all
- 12:20this chemistry, we'd be friends, and no, turns out we're just gonna
- 12:22be formal co workers. Don't text me after nine oh one am, do
- 12:28not talk to me, and I'll see you tomorrow morning. He did show
- 12:30up my doorstep the other day for his golf pass, though. You did
- 12:33get the fun of people wondering too, because in that little video we posted
- 12:37the whole like oh I got free golf thing. It is true because you
- 12:41know, we needed every bit of incentive to get Lauren on board, and
- 12:46it was much of golfing every day is gonna make her happy? She literally
- 12:50said, because the last summer we lived here before we moved, I was
- 12:54gone all day every day, just golfing. And so she's like, it's
- 12:56just gonna be like that again. I'm like, no, it's gonna be
- 12:58different. So different hours in She's like, what are you doing Sunday.
- 13:01I'm like, well, I have a tea time, and she wasn't surprised,
- 13:07So I hope I hope she understands that it's just very it's seasonal.
- 13:13It's just a seasonal saying, you gotta get it in. That's why in
- 13:16Florida, you know, you just never you'll have next month. You can
- 13:18play forever here. You gotta get it in. So oh gosh, we're
- 13:22getting it in all right. Weatherwise, today it's gonna beautiful, by the
- 13:24way, you can't get it in. Gonna be sunny, high of about
- 13:28eighty and do not forget one hour from right now we have that big announcement
- 13:31coming up at seven to eleven. Uh, it's gonna get wild. It's
- 13:35gonna be fun. I don't want to say too much, but it's gonna
- 13:39be fun. And listen, You're gonna have the opportunity to do something that
- 13:41me, personally, I would never get to do. I would never you
- 13:43know, right. Yeah, No, it's really like a once in a
- 13:46lifetime opportunity that you'll get to be a part of. For me, it's
- 13:50what you'd be winning. I'm just gonna say that. I mean, there's
- 13:52all that other stuff, but the winning for me, I wouldn't give it
- 13:56help. It'll make sense more when we talk about I'm talking about I'm talking
- 14:01about the prize. Yeah, like the other stuffs cool, but you can
- 14:05do that. Amanda just wants to win a Hey Google, Hey Betty up
- 14:11to Betty one, Hey Google, whatever you're gonna like? His name is
- 14:16telatively big maybe eight point seven check wait Amanda's juncture. Taylor Swift defended a
- 14:26concert goer from security over the weekend. I guess the fan was confronted because
- 14:31they were too close to the barricade and they were kind of being pulled away
- 14:33for taking photos. So you're not supposed to do that. Taylor Swift in
- 14:37the middle of singing her song, does this listen? She's like, stopp
- 15:00No, she's fine, it's fine. And then but her song is still
- 15:03playing. She's able to sing and talk at the same time. I don't
- 15:07think she realized it as it was going on. And then she's kept going
- 15:09like like she would just start screaming into the microphone. It's glorious. What
- 15:13was going on that she felt the need to because security was pulling her away.
- 15:16So maybe you can't tell, but maybe it was just one of those
- 15:22things like, hey, she spent If I'm Taylor, she spent a lot
- 15:24of money. Let the girl take a picture of me. She's right there.
- 15:28I mean, lista, if your Taylor Swift, you don't know the
- 15:30situation, right, what if the you know who knows what happened? You
- 15:33got to trust security to do their job. Maybe not ruin the show though,
- 15:37and let everybody know you're playing off a CD. I don't think that's
- 15:39any boy. Now. By the way, Intern Gracie, we should have
- 15:45just named her Intern Swifty because she is a Taylor Swift freak. Oh you
- 15:48are, She's going to back to back shows of Taylor in this idios?
- 15:52How much are we paying her interns? Do she has a Taylor Swift laundry
- 15:54back? That's how far they're going this It's name. When are those shows
- 16:00coming out for four? Oh? Wow? I have like outfits and everything.
- 16:06Do you wor Taylor Swift stuff every day? Or did you just want
- 16:08to like really set the tone today? I have a lot of Taylor Swift
- 16:11stuff. So she's going to see it a big merch girl. If it's
- 16:15not Taylor Swift, it's Austin Butler or Jonas Brothers, Kelsey Ballerini. She'sa
- 16:22Kenny last week up at the Alyris, so the next day Kenny g you
- 16:30know, a lady walking away from the merch table with the whole table.
- 16:33That's Gracie, you know. And I appreach as a musician myself. Ye
- 16:37you low standards stream yet doesn't exactly point Yeah, I'll get you a sweat
- 16:41or don't worry, it's gonna be forty bucks. She'll probably pay sixty,
- 16:48no kidding. And Britney Spears documentary is on tonight, and I guess a
- 16:52lot of it is going to be diving into the marriage between her and Sam
- 16:56and how it is on the rocks. TMZ is preparing this documentary to exploit
- 17:00their relationship, saying that at some time, at some point, it has
- 17:03gotten physical. Sam has been screaming, freaking out, but really it's gotten
- 17:08so volatile that some of the security members have had to kind of get into
- 17:11their relationship and break things up. I just don't know if I believe this,
- 17:15But yesterday, right before bed, I had jumped on Instagram and I
- 17:19cannot find it. It was taken down and nobody has saved it yet on
- 17:22the internet, which is shocking to me. Sam jumped on and did an
- 17:26Instagram live in his stories and said, don't believe everything you read on the
- 17:32internet. Everything everybody is saying about our relationship is false. Like you haven't
- 17:37said anything at all really over two years, and now all of a sudden,
- 17:41you're just coming in with this because you're about to get exposed. Maybe
- 17:45it's like a non statement. How many times have people come out and said,
- 17:47oh, it's not true, they're just making it up, And yeah,
- 17:48most of the time it's kind of true. At least some of it.
- 17:52There's something right, and they're never really together. This weekend, he
- 17:55decided to show a picture of them hiking, like, oh, hiking with
- 17:57Mama, I think is what it said. You haven't been around her in
- 18:02what we know over month. Yeah, it's weird. The whole thing's weird.
- 18:06I think, where do you stand on Britney Spears? I just so
- 18:08I feel bad, But at this point I feel like her legacy is just
- 18:14this, all of this nonsense. We're so far past any bit of her
- 18:18like providing us with some good music. And I am still in this place
- 18:22where I feel like with a conservatorship. Now that it's over, I'm just
- 18:26waiting for her to make this huge comeback. Waiting and waiting. And Jamie
- 18:36Fox daughter over the weekend and gave a health update. Nobody knows. Is
- 18:38he dead, is he alive? What's going on with Jamie Fox? What
- 18:41is this like with this is Top Gun? You didn't know Jamie Fox had
- 18:48the latest role in Top Gun? You could have fooled me. I don't
- 18:51know. She set an update from the family and sad to see that the
- 18:53media is running wild. My dad has been out of the hospital for weeks
- 18:57recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday. Thanks everybody for your
- 19:03prayers and your support. Uh, also saying we have an exciting work announcement
- 19:07coming next week too. I love that the daughter is the one like,
- 19:10oh yeah, we're doing this. You're the one who started this by saying
- 19:12that he was in the hospital and not okay, yeah, basically vague booking.
- 19:17Well, if he's playing pickleball, he must be doing fine, because
- 19:19you gotta be. O's a top athlete. Big ninty eight point seven and
- 19:23this is the weekend. I'm surely it's out now. Today's Variety A Big
- 19:30ninty eight point seven, Today's Variety, Big nuenty a point seven, hiod
- 19:34Morning, Pike and Amanda in the morning. First day, first of probably
- 19:40tens of thousands of days, would have been this is fun, isn't it.
- 19:42I mean, this is people wonder why I came back, and this
- 19:45is this is it because we're just having fun because we're friends. And although
- 19:48I did see a Facebook memory today where I was kind of roasting you,
- 19:52and that's not changed. That'll that'll continue. Yeah, definitely made it into
- 19:56your top five best people to work with that one. Yeah, it's eleven
- 19:59years. I made a ranking of female co hosts. I'd prefer to work
- 20:02with, and Amanda was fifth right below. No female at all. But
- 20:10no, it's so going to be that change all right. Weatherwise today it
- 20:14is going to be great, sunny at a high of a D. We've
- 20:17got asked me anything on Facebook, pike and these questions are fantastic what people
- 20:22are writing in. Yeah, last night I posted from the golf course.
- 20:23I was at Rose Creek shot an eighty eight or is that maybe that's okay?
- 20:27Somebody actually asked how I played spoiler eighty eight anyway, So people had
- 20:33a lot of questions, you know, people wondering. The big one I
- 20:34think is like why why would you come back? Why would you leave Florida
- 20:37to come back to Fargo to work here. Yeah, that's kind of the
- 20:40number one question. It's so silly to me because you know, that's just
- 20:44one thing, and whether it's not the only thing, whether it matters,
- 20:48I guess right right, It's like there's just so many other things when like,
- 20:52if you decide a job, it's why we would all live in California,
- 20:56you know, if if that was the only thing. But no,
- 20:59there's so much more to it. Obviously, to work with you in Intern
- 21:02Rambo and Intern Gracie, who I'd literally not met till today, but that
- 21:04definitely was a big part of it. Yeah, you know, a family's
- 21:10here. Like I've already spent two days with my nephews, one of which
- 21:12was born after I moved THEO. He's two now and so like, I
- 21:17went from not even knowing him to now, you know, he's asking me
- 21:21to put him to bed. I love it. And he's calling you TT,
- 21:23isn't he. Yeah, they call me TT just because my name Pike
- 21:26Taylor. It's hard to say for them. That's so cute. I love
- 21:32that. Go ahead because I know there's a lot of questions, So it's
- 21:33the number one for me. Now that you're back and everybody's like, okay,
- 21:37fine, we get over the Florida. Thing people want to know,
- 21:40is a sacksman coming back to the show. Well you'd have to ask him.
- 21:44No, it's mean I'm the saxman. Maybe. I mean I haven't
- 21:48practiced now that I was ever any good? So intern Woody was he around
- 21:52when you were No, I don't remember. I'd remember Woody. I think
- 21:56Woods got some access to the saxophone. He's into the music industry. He
- 22:00actually just graduated from college, and he said he has a fresh sax for
- 22:04you anytime you need one. So yeah, that would somebody be interested.
- 22:08I mean, do people like that? People when I wear skimpy little clothes
- 22:11and grind up on them while playing that George Michael song. Well, we
- 22:15did just decide maybe the grinding doesn't need to be as intense, because I
- 22:18feel like towards the end of the sax man area, you were getting real
- 22:23h getting a little Well, when you're not very good at playing the actual
- 22:27saxophone, you gotta like sort of make up for it in other ways.
- 22:30Oh, you made up for sure, did so? I think it maybe
- 22:33special occasions, I think so, I'd be open to it. You're not
- 22:37just shooting down the sax man. No, I'm not a hard no on
- 22:40the sacks. I like that. See if Woody can't come through for us,
- 22:44the old Woodster. What part of the FM area are you residing in?
- 22:48Jesse wants to know a really good question. Well, I'm living in
- 22:52Northmoorhead with my sister and her husband and our nephews. So for now,
- 22:56Lauren and I just wanted to get settled. Ye, see what I mean,
- 23:00I don't know what part of town's popping these days. We're all out
- 23:03in West Fargo. Kind of the horse there. I know, I got
- 23:06I went to your house the other day. I'm like, dear God,
- 23:07where I'm in more Head? Oh you are? Yep, oh, neighbors.
- 23:11But it really is kind of going to depend on where you. You
- 23:15know, well, he used to live in West Fargo before he moved.
- 23:17I'm from Glyndon. Not really that that's on the table or anything, but
- 23:21um, you know, I don't know. I like South Fargo. There's
- 23:22a lot of bars out there, which is important. And uh, I
- 23:26don't know, but I like more Head too. So the house store is
- 23:30that right? Yep? Yeah, it's good luck finding somebody right on in
- 23:34next door we have Jane asking a very interesting question. Are you in love
- 23:41with Amanda in a friend way? If she like didn't have new Nick,
- 23:45would you secretly pine boy? I only ask because I do. Oh she
- 23:53does. She pines for you. Okay, I don't listen, listen,
- 23:57it's no, It's just one of those things I've had people ask me this.
- 24:00It's just one of those things. We've never been single at the same
- 24:03time, so star the stars never really aligned, but never say never.
- 24:08Also, I was just gonna say, for the record, I've never a
- 24:12co worker, like the co co workers are off limits in my fact,
- 24:15Like that's just the Yeah, they're totally a play for me. About my
- 24:22wife Lauren, actually I met here at the radio station. She was sure
- 24:25dead. Yeah, she was an interest. Yeah, she worked for me
- 24:27even better. Yeah, how do you feel about that, you know,
- 24:30just stealing my stealing my employees. She was a good worker. And then
- 24:34she was like, I'm done. No, I mean I don't think I'm
- 24:37Amanda's type first of all. Nope, I've gathered over the years. Yeah
- 24:42I really have a type. Pike. Okay, I just had to get
- 24:48that one out of the way. Yeah, I mean, what's to ask
- 24:51you? Would you know, you've always been a co worker. You're my
- 24:53little brother, Like that's just not a thing bike, No, okay.
- 24:57Yeah, and last one for this round, we have what was your favorite
- 25:03teacher in high school? Justin wants to know, Oh not what what?
- 25:07What was your favorite teacher? I don't know. I had a lot of
- 25:08least favorite ones. In fact, I was banned from the high school for
- 25:11sharing a story about one of them. That was still banned from the high
- 25:15school. I haven't been back. I mean, I know there's a new
- 25:18regime over there, so maybe i've maybe I can get back in. But
- 25:22no. We shared a story about this one teacher who I did not care
- 25:23for, and uh, and then they said, don't come because I was
- 25:26supposed to go present a scholarship and they're like, now I don't come.
- 25:29I'm like, what do you what? Anyway, it was a whole thing.
- 25:32But I had a lot of good teachers. Let me think there was.
- 25:36I'm so bad. I should have should have had one in mind,
- 25:38not one that just popped into your head. It's pretty bad. Was a
- 25:44legend at DGF and in the state of Minnesota is Paul Marquhart, who represented
- 25:48h the District eight and the state legislature. I had Paul Markt as a
- 25:53teacher too. Did you really were Uh? He did, like a I
- 25:57think he did like subbing at some point. Okay, yeah, he's retired
- 26:00now from everything from Congress and all that. But no, he's the man.
- 26:03He was like literally the coolest guy, funniest guy, nicest man you'd
- 26:07ever meet, and a great teacher. Like I learned more about. We
- 26:11took Minnesota history as a class. Okay, so you knew, like the
- 26:14State bird was a lunin stuff like that's yeah, that was like that was
- 26:18the first day they brought a lunar and everything. That was awesome. It's
- 26:22majestic. Oh the things haven't changed. Oh yes, all right, guys,
- 26:29Well, we have a lot of questions and hopefully you have a lot
- 26:30of answer. I hope so too. And we do have a big announcement
- 26:33at seven to eleven. I'm telling you like a man I said earlier,
- 26:37Really it's the prize that's the most exciting thing. You want to hear it
- 26:41at seven to eleven. I love discovering new music. Literally listen all day
- 26:45for the contest for listening Facebook listening all day at work. That's what I
- 26:53meant. He is my favorite. I love Pink. Didn't we watch her
- 27:00together with the last time she was at the farm? First time and then
- 27:04if she came again right after I had Sid and my in laws we all
- 27:08want to It was one of the best concerts I've ever Literally doesn't matter what
- 27:12kind of music you're knew, you will enjoy this show. It's just incredible.
- 27:17You he heard about her like acrobatics and whatnot. It's just so fun.
- 27:19And she got so many hits. I mean there was literally hit she
- 27:22didn't play because she's got so many. But we have your chance to see
- 27:25her in the third row. What what are you look at? I was
- 27:29just waiting because I'm ready to Facebook live. But what do you have to
- 27:33do? It's called Pike, the town for Pink. You're okay. If
- 27:37you're on Facebook Live, you can see these big, giant Pike cardboard heads
- 27:41fit. They are these huge heads. So you have to show Pike around
- 27:44town. So the idea is that I'm I'm new to town again, right,
- 27:48I just moved back after three years away. So there's a lot of
- 27:51new things here. There's a lot of new places, new restaurants, new
- 27:52bars, things. I need to be able to be sort of reacquainted with
- 27:56the city. So your job is going to be to take these giants cardboard
- 28:00cutouts of my what I'm now realizing very ugly head. Look at that.
- 28:04No, it's nice, I mean you do. It is really nice to
- 28:08see. You have got a couple of little graze in your beard. Blonde,
- 28:12see them right in here, they're blonde. Anyway, you gotta bring
- 28:17me around town. You want to blow up your social media with photos of
- 28:19you and this giant cardboard cutout of my head and h We're gonna choose one
- 28:25person of the three that have been selected, and they're gonna win third row
- 28:29pink tickets. Whoever does the best job of bringing me around town. I
- 28:32mean, why wouldn't you imagine this guy just showing up wherever you're at,
- 28:36just bam, there's fight here he is. But for third or prink tickets,
- 28:41I think these are like over two grand My god, pop, maybe
- 28:47it would do things I wouldn't even admit the things I would do to get
- 28:52third row pink tickets. But this is nothing compared to those things. So
- 28:55all you have to do is go to Big nine eight seven dot com.
- 28:56That's where you're gonna enter. We will then select three people after this week
- 29:00to be the ones to represent and bring around my giant cardboard head, and
- 29:03then from there we'll see who does the best. Ashley, She's live on
- 29:07Facebook, she says. Fun fact, last time I saw Pink Pike was
- 29:11next to me. Dot dot dot sort of what did I bring her to
- 29:17the show? I don't know. I don't know if you know, Ashley,
- 29:19Marie, but dot dot dot she was next here. Okay, you're
- 29:25maybe in the same section. Uh so all you have to do is go
- 29:30to a Big ninety seven dot com. All the details are right there.
- 29:33There's also a very uncomfortable photo of me with my head with Pink's body.
- 29:37If you've ever thought, well, I wonder what Pike's head on Pink's body
- 29:41looks like. There you go out by the way. Everybody welcome you back.
- 29:45Everybody has a lot of questions for you. Are we going to talk
- 29:48to your mom too? We probably should call her then I'm here. Yeah,
- 29:52I thought would surprise her. No, she knows mother estate was yesterday.
- 29:56No, I'm so excited to talk to you. Yeah, we will
- 29:59call her. According to Amanda, and we'll get into this. But I
- 30:02did her dirty for Mother's Day, literally did her. Yeah, this is
- 30:07so gross. All right, what come on now, we'll talk more about
- 30:11that. But Pike the Town for Pink your chance to win Pink third row
- 30:14tickets. Get more info at Big nine eight seven dot com. I love
- 30:19it loud. It makes me feel so good. I love the station.
- 30:25A lot of people were having questions on our social media. You know,
- 30:27we've been talking about this new show for like a good month now, and
- 30:30so we've seen a lot on social media. Last night we posted like and
- 30:33ask me anything like you might te on Reddit questions for for me. So,
- 30:38Amanda, I know you have a few there that you want to fire
- 30:41off, So feel free, all right. We have somebody who said,
- 30:45did you decide to come back since Jesse left? That was Brittany. I
- 30:49love it's it's its own little soap oper this radio station. No, absolutely
- 30:53not. I would love if Jesse was here. I love I love that.
- 30:56Man. No, we have a we've had a lot of good time,
- 31:00and you know, it just worked out where obviously you know, if
- 31:03I was going to come back, it would be for this specific role,
- 31:04not to uh just come here and get shot with tasers again. Right,
- 31:07it's a fun time. Yeah, I mean listen some of the best times
- 31:11we're getting shot with tasers and paintball guns. And yeah, you're wearing more
- 31:15clothes today than normal. I'm used to you just run around a nospedo or
- 31:19the sax Man outfit. I mean, you guys have seen more of me
- 31:22than you probably inner thigh though, That's right, So I forgot about that.
- 31:29That was the smoothest these thighs that ramble pouring wax hot wax all over
- 31:34was really special. No, no, Jess, I love him and it
- 31:40had nothing to do with it. I'm not coming back until that guy's gone.
- 31:42No, nothing like that. Yeah, it was weird how it all
- 31:45ended up working out, and a lot of people are wondering that as well.
- 31:48We have Cheyenne, she says, or Shana. Excuse me, she
- 31:53says. How did the conversation really go when you were asked to come back?
- 31:56Well, I mentioned it earlier, but you called me and I knew
- 32:00Jesse was leaving. I was down in Florida doing radio thing down there,
- 32:02and Amanda called me and she was you were just basically sharing like updates on
- 32:06how it was going, and you mentioned that, oh, your name was
- 32:07brought up, but you know, I'm not even gonna not even gonna bother.
- 32:12And then eventually you bothered others aggressive by depleted free golf. Whatever I
- 32:17needed to do to get you back here. We did get the free golf.
- 32:21Thank you for that. It was just it was there was a lot
- 32:22of things. It was a lot of weighing, you know, different factors,
- 32:27and there's like a million of them, and so the scale would tip
- 32:29one way the one day, and then the next day you would go the
- 32:30other way. And eventually, uh, Lauren did get on board. My
- 32:35wife, she loves Florida, but she loves it here too, And we
- 32:37have a lot of people we care about here and a lot of people wonder
- 32:40you know, like, um, how could you leave the weather? Well?
- 32:45People matter a lot. Yeah, Alyssa was actually questioning that about the
- 32:50weather the palm trees, like hard to leave that? Oh yeah, she's
- 32:54the one I want to know, Like, what's like comparing living somewhere beautiful
- 32:59but without people well, you know, correct, versus living somewhere that does
- 33:01get winter a fairly long one. I'm told this year was worse than it
- 33:07was brutal. Yeah, there was nothing like calling you and being like,
- 33:09yeah, it's just great. Everything is great here. It's not you know,
- 33:14really really really bad out. Yeah. I did it for thirty years
- 33:16not worried about the winter, and you just do it. We're resilient people.
- 33:20You just get through it, right. And Florida is a take it
- 33:22away, an airline, take it away and you can be back. They're
- 33:23soaking up the sunshine anytime. We do have some more questions, but we
- 33:29also have somebody here on the line seven one two eight ninety eight seven if
- 33:31you do want to chime in or welcome Pike back. A good morning.
- 33:35Who is this? Good morning? This is Keely calling. Well Hi Keiley,
- 33:39Keely? Hello, Hi. I just wanted to welcome you back,
- 33:43and I look forward to seeing sax Man throughout this summer. Thank you,
- 33:47Keily, I appreciate it. The people were wondering about the sacks man.
- 33:51I don't actually own a saxophone. I know you probably thought I was just
- 33:53down and floida practicing for three years, but just beach saxophone in a way
- 33:59saxon it up. No, I'll have to find a saxophone. I'm not
- 34:01opposed, you know, doing the Sacks thing if you guys want it.
- 34:04I mean, do you really enjoy me dressing up in this neon green skimpy
- 34:07outfit and grinding on random women in offices? Is that something people want?
- 34:13Well, you're married, no, so we probably leased to ask Lauren if
- 34:15it's okay you will X say on the grinding, maybe just the really bad
- 34:20sacks and just the spontaneousness of it. I like, yah, Yeah,
- 34:23let's see what we can do. Welcome back, it's here, familiar voice
- 34:27on the radio again. Thank you, Keely, it's good to be back.
- 34:30Bye bye bye. That's awesome. I think everybody feels that way.
- 34:34Lys forever. She'll be our first caller on piking Amanda in the morning.
- 34:37Yeah, any other burning questions, Yeah, Shila wants to know Oreo or
- 34:43chips. Ahoy, that is the question. It's an obvious answer, is
- 34:46it not Oreo? Yes? Thank you? Okay, So I don't wait
- 34:52to crispy. This is not even good. I don't mind the chewy ones,
- 34:57I guess, but this is about you in your knee Areo. It's
- 35:00like a goat cookie. I mean really other than like Subways cookies. That's
- 35:02probably best. Oh yeah, and one more really quick. We have Barbara
- 35:07saying how did you golf? Oh? Thank you Barbara for asking my round
- 35:13yesterday Rose Creek. It was not good. Tripled the first hole, wanted
- 35:15to quit, never wanted to play golf again. So now is a time
- 35:19for me to get my husband playing golf with you so we can get some
- 35:21money off you. I think he still owes him. Your husband likes to
- 35:24think I owe him, but I feel like that's been exaggerated over the years,
- 35:30but now it's about right. Yeah, I get him if you don't
- 35:31mine. I know yesterday, I'm starting to feel like Lauren and I are
- 35:35not going to love the two of you this summer like we normally do every
- 35:37day. With the amount of golf you guys are going to be playing.
- 35:40Listen, you're really going to become a thorn in my side with my husband.
- 35:45Yeah, you can handle those kids, right, of course I can't.
- 35:47Great mom over here, I got it, No big deal what I've
- 35:51seen. Yeah, Friday night of the Force, they were very well behaved.
- 35:54Yeah, yeah, you don't got it. Yeah. In intern Gracie's
- 36:00I go to babysitter. Oh really, Yeah, how's that been going?
- 36:02So good? I love them? Do they behave all the time? Yeah?
- 36:06And they suckered me in the first day to do bathtime, So now
- 36:09we are Do you had to get in there too? Oh no no,
- 36:12but they love bathtime. And I texted Amanda and she goes, they got
- 36:15you. They got you at the bathtime, And now every time I come
- 36:17over, it's we want to take a bath? What do you mean they
- 36:21got you? Are they not supposed you have a rule they're not supposed to
- 36:22be taking baths. No, I just I don't feel like that's a babysitter's
- 36:27job to have to like give my kids a bath. And so I mean,
- 36:30yeah, they I feel like they accidentally like spilled Sunday and like,
- 36:34oh god, they love bathtime, like you know, rubber duckies and stuff
- 36:37bubbles. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, just great. Well maybe I'll
- 36:40come over for bath. Today's variety Big Nutty eight point seven. Well,
- 36:49my mom worked, you know, she had worked a long day at uh
- 36:52I think where she worked the dollar store in Dilworth or okay, other by
- 36:54Walmart, So she was unavailable unfortunately, so I had to go golf.
- 37:00So going for the team, you poor thing. I will say though,
- 37:01Saturday we did a little early, Like I got into town Friday night.
- 37:05Saturday, we went to the uh what's a nice restaurant over there in West
- 37:07Farga China King all you can eat Chinese buffet? Who did not? We
- 37:14did? That's where you went. That's where we went. For mother's name
- 37:16Lauren, and I treated her into a little all you can She's a big
- 37:21fan of Chinese food as well, is anyone not literally never it's literally the
- 37:24best thing that there is. See, I like it, but I like
- 37:28it like more delivery kind of thing. I'm not really the buffet kind of
- 37:30curry. It's not const effective for me because you've seen how I loaded my
- 37:32plates up. Yeah, for you, but for your mom? Did they
- 37:37have like a special Mother's Day? Did they add more crab legs or something
- 37:39to make it like have see these buffets, they're skimping now. They don't
- 37:44always have the krab legs. I feel like that's the thing of the past.
- 37:46Okay, yeah, but so no, they didn't have krab legs,
- 37:49but they did have our household favorites like peanut butter chicken, General to Sal's
- 37:52chicken, broccoli, beef broccoli, beef white rice. I mean you name
- 37:58it. Wow, I don't know what I'm getting for lunch now. Oh
- 38:00yeah, you want to go? We could have a work meeting. Yeah,
- 38:05you guys really need to probably get to know. I did just meet
- 38:07you in turn, Grace, that is true? Yeah, would you do?
- 38:09You don't think it's a sufficient Mother's Day? No, not even a
- 38:12little bit. We know, you know. Okay, says a girl whose
- 38:16kids, you know, didn't even make herm French toes. Yeah, yeah,
- 38:22okay, frying van. She did say, Mom, do you need
- 38:25another Momosa? I'm like, yes, honey, I do, sure,
- 38:32you know, okay, let's just call my mom. Yeah. I know
- 38:35she's probably sleeping because again late night, they're at the Dolawar store. But
- 38:37I think we could probably wake her up because I'm going to prove you that
- 38:40she does, in fact love Chinese. Don't believe it? Great? Nope,
- 38:45Hello, Hey, good morning Mom. How are you good? How
- 38:50are you too? Oh, We're so good. That's just the best,
- 38:53just picking up right where we left off. Oh, it just feels so
- 38:58good. You've got to be aches static that Pike is back home. Yes,
- 39:02it's been just even the first day was here. He was gotten to
- 39:07be such a sweetheart. It's just gotten to be. He's just gotten to
- 39:10be. He took thirty two years. But Mom, can we actually talk
- 39:14about when I came back because I got here Friday and then we're having a
- 39:17little bit of a discussion about our Mother's Day celebration, and right Amanda seems
- 39:22to think that a Chinese buffet is not a very caliber It's not a sufficient
- 39:28Mother's Day lunch. He's not like the other two. He's not like the
- 39:32other in one way. Tell me more about that. He's awesome, but
