- 0:00Uh.
- 0:03Jasmine, oolong, green
- 0:06and white. Long ago, these four
- 0:08teas were skilfully brewed at the Blissful Brew.
- 0:12Then everything changed when the shop's
- 0:14popularity threatened its existence.
- 0:17All Mr. Okeron, the shop's owner and tea
- 0:20master, could do was to recruit four teenage
- 0:23orphans to learn his trade and staff his
- 0:25shop. A year has passed since the orphans were
- 0:28hired, and although their skills have progressed, they
- 0:31still have a lot to learn before they can brew anything.
- 0:34But I believe that they have the potential to make the
- 0:37Blissful Brew the greatest tea shop in the
- 0:39world.
- 0:42Welcome back to another, uh, episode of Benders M and Brews.
- 0:45We are going to be continuing into our one shot for
- 0:48part two, uh, exciting as that
- 0:50is. So, yeah, stay
- 0:53tuned and hear that out. I'm not going to do as much of an intro as we
- 0:56did last time because you guys know what the concept is. So let's just jump right
- 0:59into it.
- 1:04All right, so as Brock limps
- 1:06through and, uh, you guys
- 1:09come to the end of this tunnel, it opens
- 1:12up into a massive
- 1:15chasm, the bottom of which is
- 1:17filled with lava. At the end of
- 1:20this chasm, one can see
- 1:23the entrance to what, uh, looks like some
- 1:26sort of, uh, makeshift
- 1:28facility of some kind. There's some torches in front of it.
- 1:31You can kind of see into it. And it looks like there's some
- 1:34shelving. And the floor
- 1:36itself has kind of been made of wood. Um,
- 1:39but that's about as much as you can see from where you're at.
- 1:42Um, but across this huge
- 1:45lava chasm, there's the rock side of the wall.
- 1:48You can see a very narrow ledge that leads a little
- 1:50ways. There are some flaming
- 1:53ropes or chains, rather, that hang down from the
- 1:56ceiling. Um, there's a couple of
- 1:59very rickety metal bridges, um,
- 2:02that kind of swing back and forth. So there's like,
- 2:05three different ones. They don't connect. They kind of
- 2:08swing a little bit opposite of each other, maybe not
- 2:10quite. So they intersect every once in a while, but
- 2:13only when they are swinging back
- 2:16and forth. You said there was, like,
- 2:19a ledge, though, on the side? Yeah, it only leads
- 2:22us part way. Partway and then it
- 2:25basically leads to the chain. I was going to say the
- 2:27ledge leads to the chain, and the chain leads
- 2:30to bridge, which then leads to
- 2:33we got American ninja warrior course.
- 2:36Or can I simply
- 2:39Earth bend a bridge
- 2:42across all the way across
- 2:45this, let's say, 100 foot
- 2:48chasm. Dude's going to raise magma
- 2:51into the air.
- 2:54Form of bending it is for
- 2:56firebenders. And you are not that, nor
- 2:59are you the literal avatar that could do
- 3:02that. It says pretty sure Roku was,
- 3:05like, the only one that has magma bend.
- 3:09Well, then, thanks, Shane. Poor guy.
- 3:12Yeah, that's a big burden to bear. Would I be able
- 3:15to say
- 3:18Earth bend, like, two
- 3:20platforms? Okay, put
- 3:23one out in front. We step on it, swing the other
- 3:26one around. Step on it, swing and just
- 3:29keep going. Here's what I'll say. You
- 3:32will make the two platforms. They will
- 3:35connect, and then the second you remove that first
- 3:37platform from the base, everything will fall.
- 3:40Okay. I'm not going out. Well,
- 3:44so we got American Ninja warrior. This I
- 3:46guess, uh, we're
- 3:49in this together. What's to the right of us? The
- 3:52right is where you have that ledge. I
- 3:55was wondering where the other paths went. The other caves
- 4:00openings for this area? No.
- 4:03So it's just like one big opening. On the right side, you have the
- 4:06actual wall, which is close to where you're standing, but on the left
- 4:09side, the chasm kind of opens
- 4:12up further back. And then there's the wall.
- 4:14But we don't see the other two openings. That
- 4:17would be from the other two.
- 4:20No. Sorry. Okay,
- 4:23so in the chamber
- 4:26before you guys came through the tunnel that led to this,
- 4:29uh, you saw the other two. Oh. So all
- 4:31three chamber. That said, if you follow
- 4:34this because Skyler is a little I don't know,
- 4:37uh, he's running out of time. So he kind of like just everything led to the
- 4:40same spot. That makes sense. It's just like, which
- 4:43path exactly? I was assuming. Yeah. Which fire
- 4:47preferred. They each made their own trial. Right. It's
- 4:50kind of what I was I'm going to try and assess
- 4:53the situation. Okay. Sounds good. I rolled
- 4:56a ten. Okay. Actually, it's actually an eleven.
- 4:59Wow. And that's not really
- 5:02a physical thing.
- 5:06You've gone from being the I'll punch it guy
- 5:09to, uh, let me look at pain will
- 5:11help you. I do find it funny how,
- 5:14uh, this whole case thing started with, uh,
- 5:17Brock basically dragging Bill through it, and it's
- 5:20become
- 5:23true. Well, it started like Brock's just going, like,
- 5:26full bore head on into things, and he just keeps getting
- 5:29hurt. And it's like, okay, maybe we slow down
- 5:32a bit. Maybe we use our
- 5:34noggin, no,
- 5:37I didn't say that. Slow
- 5:40down, not turn around. Quick side note for what did
- 5:43you roll previously when you were putting the dirt
- 5:45on the stuff? Nine. I rolled a six,
- 5:48but with the added things, I got a nine.
- 5:51Okay, so it doesn't change anything. But just to
- 5:54clarify on assess the situation, you only get the plus one
- 5:56ongoing if you get a ten plus.
- 5:59I just noticed that because you got a ten plus this time, so it would
- 6:02have been eight. Right. Which still would have fallen under the
- 6:05range, which is totally fine. Just wanted to clarify that for anybody that's
- 6:08listening. And they're like, wait a minute. But now he
- 6:11gets his plus one. Yes, now you get your plus one. And you get to ask me
- 6:14two questions. Okay, what
- 6:17here can we use to get across,
- 6:20and what is our best
- 6:22way
- 6:25to the other side? How uh,
- 6:28do us chickens cross this road? Okay. Yeah. Pretty
- 6:31much.
- 6:35Without injuring ourselves. This is
- 6:38the key. I was going to say I'm going to answer both
- 6:40questions because they're so similar. You, um, see
- 6:43some chalk that's kind of like a little bit hidden around the
- 6:46corner of something. Um, you peek and you
- 6:49see some kind of just rubble
- 6:52rock that's kind of sitting there against it. Looks loose.
- 6:55Um, it's not really attached to the rock wall.
- 6:59M. Let's dig at this rubble
- 7:01rock. All right. Yeah. You dig
- 7:04at the rubble rock and you find underneath there's a
- 7:07staff. A staff, you
- 7:10say, but it looks strange. It looks very
- 7:13well carved. Um, and it seems to have
- 7:16some little sort of slits on the
- 7:19sides of it, on the top and bottom, both
- 7:21sides. Um I don't
- 7:24know. How much do you guys know about
- 7:27the airbenders? How much would Bill and Brock
- 7:30know about the airbenders? Brock probably not. Bill would
- 7:33know some okay. But if you're talking like the
- 7:35airbenders air staff,
- 7:38like their air glider,
- 7:41bill knows from being educated. I was going to say Bill might
- 7:44know, especially with the stuff that your
- 7:47dad yeah, yeah. I feel like you might have
- 7:50seen maybe some drawings. It looks like one of those
- 7:53air gliders. How
- 7:55many? Uh, I'm going
- 7:58to say two. Oh, wow, isn't that
- 8:00convenient? You notice there it actually
- 8:03makes sense if you said three because there was three paths for the three
- 8:06guys. Yeah. So, uh, the
- 8:09marking that you saw of the chalk,
- 8:12um, once you've cleared the ruffle so it kind of like goes into the
- 8:14rubble. So you don't see the full of whatever it is, you just see
- 8:17like there's a couple of lines sticking out. When you cleared away the
- 8:20rubbles, you just see the word it
- 8:23becomes like the rest of the word. You just see the word
- 8:25backups. And then
- 8:28you turn and you look across the cavern. This time you're
- 8:31kind of squinting your eyes, you're looking a little closer and you notice there's
- 8:34a fully opened air glider on the other side of the
- 8:37tunnel where this, uh, opening is.
- 8:40Good thing we found that, otherwise we are certainly going to
- 8:43die. I would certainly
- 8:48you notice that there seems to
- 8:50be this is kind of
- 8:53stemming from zelda, an updraft, but there's an
- 8:56updraft stemming from the
- 8:59very like, hot air balloon. Okay. So Bill's going to
- 9:02grab both of them. He's going to hand one to you,
- 9:05Brock, and he's going to say, okay, so you know what these
- 9:08are? Yes.
- 9:11Enlighten me, but remind me for the people at
- 9:14home. Uh, I know what these are, but
- 9:17I need to make sure you know what they are.
- 9:20Sure. These are air gliders.
- 9:23Airbenders use them. Air gliders? Yeah. Uh,
- 9:26not only airbenders, but just people who
- 9:28create flying devices. But these are flying devices that
- 9:31anyone can use. Like me. Not anyone can use
- 9:34normally, but I think the updraft that in this case
- 9:37we can use it because of the, uh, updraft heat. Did you
- 9:40feel that? Yeah, sorry.
- 9:42Rises. Yeah, sorry. I had eggs for
- 9:45breakfast. What
- 9:50are you taking the blame for, Brimstone? I don't know what
- 9:53you're talking about. Anyway, updraft. Yeah.
- 9:56So if we just jump and hold onto these gliders,
- 9:59they will give us a updraft of air and
- 10:02we hopefully
- 10:05I hope this ends correctly, but we
- 10:08should be able to just glide to the other side.
- 10:10Okay, let's do it. It's
- 10:13a good thing. Brock has to just go for how
- 10:16big are these things? Um, so they usually
- 10:19I think they span outwards. Probably
- 10:22the other side. Like horizontal with us, or is it
- 10:25like a little down? Please be
- 10:28please be a little down.
- 10:34I'm just like these one. You're saying how far is
- 10:37the chasm to the
- 10:39other side? Is it level with each other? No, it's
- 10:43definitely okay. I was going to say this is weird. If
- 10:45it's uphill, we're like, sorry.
- 10:48No. Okay. Yeah, we just glide down to there
- 10:51and we'll have plenty of airtime because of the
- 10:53heat. All right, I'm with
- 10:56it. Let's go. Okay. How big are these
- 11:00mean? They're like, wide enough that it
- 11:02passes your outstretched arms, which I think is supposed to
- 11:05be like how do you equal to your height? Does, um, Bill
- 11:08know how to use one of these, though? Bill might
- 11:11have some theoretical idea of how to use them. Brock
- 11:14really does
- 11:19you know how to open it? Uh, up. You're looking at it. You
- 11:22get the premise here. No idea how to ride it,
- 11:25though? Technically. No. We could probably feel
- 11:28it, like wiggling. And then the further out we have our arms, the more
- 11:30stable it is. Right. We ride on top of it.
- 11:33No, technically, right underneath it. Underneath of it?
- 11:36Yeah, you're right underneath it. I just realized all the
- 11:39Avatar stuff we have on the wall, there's nothing depicting
- 11:42Ash or Ash aang. I'm thinking
- 11:45Pokemon. There's nothing depicting Aang riding on the
- 11:48air glider. But yeah, he rides under the air
- 11:50glider. Uh, kind of like imagine you're like
- 11:53a wombat or like one of those pictures
- 11:56holding it. Oh, this sounds
- 11:58terrifying. Well, see,
- 12:01on the other side
- 12:04just takes off.
- 12:09Just watching in disbelief. Hey, I tell you what,
- 12:12I tell you what. Oh, is that all you do?
- 12:17Well, I open it, I'm
- 12:20like, okay, so it's stable. If I'm like this, it's stupid
- 12:22to be on top, so I'll be on the bottom.
- 12:25No, that's fair. You jump
- 12:28off. I just wasn't sure if you were offering any kind
- 12:31of comfort or support to Bill. Does that sound like you
- 12:34are? That's not my clarify that's
- 12:37not my style. All right,
- 12:40um, I'm going to have you push your luck. What do I
- 12:43roll? That one's
- 12:45passion. I have to ask, and this might be off
- 12:48the record okay. If he
- 12:51fails, he dies. To be
- 12:54clear, what do I roll? Nine. Okay.
- 12:57No, it's failed. His role
- 13:00skyler. We die. I just want to
- 13:03emphasize but I can't die because it's a
- 13:05prequel. You got plot.
- 13:10Just keep this in because it's funny. Discussion.
- 13:14I rolled a nine, but with passion is ten.
- 13:17But since it's a physical thing, is
- 13:20it down to eight? Uh, speed
- 13:22aren't involved. It's all arms. Yeah, I
- 13:25would get a running start, but if they're close enough to where the
- 13:28glider, you could have just pushed off from the edge. Here's what I'll say.
- 13:31Here's what I'll say. Plot. Uh, we'll say that it was an
- 13:34eight. Okay? But you still succeed. It just
- 13:37says that, um, your boldness
- 13:39sorry, uh, it costs
- 13:42you to scrape by is what the description
- 13:45makes you fly down,
- 13:48and you're going and everything seems great.
- 13:51You're actually having a lot of fun. You're flying. You
- 13:54are flying right now, Brock. I'm flying. It's
- 13:57hot, but it's not, like, scalding hot. You're not
- 14:00that close to the lobby. You look down, you see the lobby, you're like, oh. You get a little bit
- 14:03of vertigo, but at the same time, you're like,
- 14:06all right, I got a feeling for how this thing works.
- 14:08I'm flying above it. I'm okay. And then
- 14:11in let's call it your hubris,
- 14:14you're, uh, pulling, like icarus. Icarus, exactly.
- 14:18You fly too close to one of the flaming
- 14:20chains, and it ever so slightly
- 14:23taps
- 14:26your staff. Specifically, uh, the paper
- 14:29that kind of, like, hangs outward the cloth that
- 14:32keeps you afloat, and it starts to burn. And in that moment,
- 14:35you start leaning towards one side, and
- 14:38you're doing everything you can to correct it. And you
- 14:41just barely skid onto the
- 14:44safe end of, uh, this
- 14:46chasm with one half of pretty much your
- 14:49entire, uh, flying stick just as
- 14:52scalded to ash. Well, so
- 14:55I get up, dust myself off, and I look at Bill, and I
- 14:58was like, See? Just like that. Just like
- 15:01that. You knew it.
- 15:03Bill's eyes are wide open,
- 15:06and his mouth is wide, and
- 15:09he can't say anything. And he's standing there
- 15:12anxiously, like, rubbing his
- 15:14yeah, on his scar. And,
- 15:17uh, he takes a deep
- 15:19breath. You
- 15:22could always try the
- 15:25ninja warrior route, too,
- 15:28but I asked for the best way across. But
- 15:31he saw that chain burn the
- 15:34thing immediately when they saw it hit it, and he is
- 15:37assuming if he has to grab those, they'd burn his hand. Oh, yeah,
- 15:40that's true. So he knows he can't do that. I kind of just
- 15:43threw it in there. I was like, I'll just let him figure it out. I don't know
- 15:46how,
- 15:50all things considered. So, as the DM, um,
- 15:53I know this is kind of, like, outside of the story.
- 15:56We're going a little bit outside of the game here. So this is a little
- 15:59meta as a DM. Um, I found that if
- 16:01you come up with a situation. And
- 16:04then you think to yourself, okay, here's the way to solve
- 16:07it. Like, maybe you make it a riddle and there's something in the room that someone has
- 16:10to do in order to solve it. The players are never going to do
- 16:13it. Like our interrogation scene. Exactly.
- 16:16They'll find a different way to do it. So sometimes I just come
- 16:19up with something and I'm like, I'll just throw it in. I don't know
- 16:22how they're going to do it. I don't know how he's going to get past. They don't
- 16:25have Mika with and you said that earlier. Like, if
- 16:27Mika was, uh
- 16:31but, uh, they don't have Mika with them, that's the best way to stop.
- 16:35I mean, it couldn't have gotten better than Brock getting hurt.
- 16:38I'm sitting down like, man, a lot of this stuff would be probably pretty easy to get
- 16:41past if you're an Earthbender. Yeah, you limited us
- 16:44hard by hurting Brock. Well, I
- 16:46limited us. I'm going to
- 16:49put my foot in the
- 16:53calloused foot, farm boy. I'm going to be
- 16:56so good. Well, Bill takes a deep
- 16:58breath, he closes his eyes and
- 17:01he runs forward and he just
- 17:04jumps.
- 17:10Uh,
- 17:22uh. Bill went
- 17:25too low.
- 17:29He saw the chains, like, over, adjusted
- 17:32his eyes and jumped. And, uh,
- 17:35that's all well and fine, but as Brock's watching yeah, he's
- 17:38making his way towards the opening, but he's at
- 17:40too sharp of an angle, and he's
- 17:43going to just be line it straight into the lava at the
- 17:46angle that he's at. All right, I'm going to have to
- 17:49Earth bend a platform out there to save him or
- 17:52something. Uh,
- 17:54I got to save you again, bud. Don't I
- 17:57roll? Uh, yeah, we'll do rely on your
- 18:00skills and training so that's with focus.
- 18:03Yes. Okay, so I roll a nine, but I get a ten with
- 18:06the plus one focus and then a minus minus two.
- 18:10So he barely scrapes by. Well, technically,
- 18:13that was imperfectly. Okay, what I'm
- 18:16imagining is he creates, like, uh, a thing
- 18:18underneath Bill, but it's like, at the bottom of this
- 18:21cliff. So Bill's safe, but
- 18:24now he's got to get up this cliff. Okay,
- 18:27so you're hanging off. Well, he's not really hanging. It's just
- 18:30like a little area. He can stand up, but he's still got to get
- 18:32up this cliff. You just barely pulled out, like, a shelf,
- 18:35basically. Uh, and he's still trapped
- 18:38below, but now this is where we are. So Bill sees
- 18:41this, like, he's flying. He opens his eyes and he sees
- 18:44nothing but lava below him. Ah. And it's coming
- 18:47in, and there's nothing but a wall. And all of a sudden,
- 18:50he just sees he hears Brockiel.
- 18:53What's? Brockiel cowabunga.
- 18:56Okay, he was cowboy
- 18:59sharp. Ow. And he
- 19:02sees, like, a shelf pull out, and he
- 19:04just aims for that.
- 19:07And he just, like, crash lands. He crash lands onto this
- 19:10little platform that Brock narrowly got
- 19:13out just in the nick of time. And now you're
- 19:16standing maybe five or 6ft
- 19:18below the actual platform where Brock is
- 19:21waiting cowabunga it is
- 19:24five or six below him about. Yeah. Brock,
- 19:27uh, SUP grab my
- 19:29mostap can you say thank you for saving me
- 19:32first? Thank you for saving me. Brock now mean
- 19:35it meant that Brock all right,
- 19:37fine. I mean, uh, it Brock. Thank you for saving me.
- 19:41Okay. All right, so I'll reach down, he'll probably
- 19:43hold up his stuff with both my
- 19:46hands so I'll be able to grab him, right? Yeah, I
- 19:49think at this point it's your arms. You're a
- 19:52strong guy. That's already been pre established.
- 19:55Honestly, Bill's like kind of scrawny, so he's not super
- 19:58heavy. You guys have gone through enough. Uh, you pull him
- 20:01up to the platform where you're at and now the both
- 20:04of you are standing there. Um, Bill,
- 20:06yours isn't scalded like Brock's, which is
- 20:10going to throw it into
- 20:13the lava. This is stupid. Never do another
- 20:16again. Well, don't close your eyes next
- 20:19time. Didn't close them. You know
- 20:22that. Don't worry about it.
- 20:26Let's just get this over with. All right?
- 20:29You ever think about how we're going to get back?
- 20:31No. Yes, this entire time, actually.
- 20:34Okay, well, glad that makes one of us. Uh,
- 20:37all right, so let's press on. I'm going to
- 20:40read out a little description here. So, um,
- 20:43there's like a little bit of wood floor and then there's the stone
- 20:46door. Uh, as you arrive at the heavy stone
- 20:49door, you push it open and you step into a hidden
- 20:52underground chamber that hums with an
- 20:54otherworldly energy. The room is dimly
- 20:57lit by flickering torches
- 21:00casting dancing shadows along the stone walls
- 21:02adorned with intricate fire nation engravings.
- 21:05A series of tall stone arches and pillars
- 21:08supporting the ceiling, revealing a network of ancient
- 21:11withered pipes and conduits that wind through the
- 21:14chamber like veins of an ancient
- 21:16machine. The air carries a faint scent
- 21:19of charred wood and smoldering embers,
- 21:21hinting at the firebased experiments conducted
- 21:24here. The center of this lab
- 21:27is dominated by a massive stone platform
- 21:30etched with symbols and glyphs associated with
- 21:33fire and sort of like clouds
- 21:36that look like they're exploding. Uh, above it,
- 21:39suspended by thick iron chains, hangs a metal
- 21:41framework adorned with gears levels and
- 21:44intricate firebending sigils. Small
- 21:47controlled flames dance within glass orbs, casting
- 21:50a warm and mesmerizing glow throughout the room.
- 21:53Along the walls, shelves hold a collection of
- 21:55weathered scrolls, ancient manuscripts, and, uh, alchemical
- 21:58vessels filled with rare minerals and elemental
- 22:01compounds. The flickering torch light reveals
- 22:04diagrams and sketches detailing firebending
- 22:06techniques, explosive mixtures, and the
- 22:09manipulation of heat and energy. On um, sturdy
- 22:12workbenches, you spot a collection of firebending
- 22:15tools such as specialized gloves, and
- 22:18staffs with intricate carvings. Beakers filled with
- 22:20colorful liquids bubbled gently over low
- 22:23flames, indicating ongoing
- 22:26experiments. Parchments covered in formulas,
- 22:28calculations and elemental symbols are scattered
- 22:31haphazardly, revealing the meticulous yet
- 22:34chaotic nature of Kuro's
- 22:37research. The laboratory
- 22:39exudes an ancient yet powerful energy,
- 22:42reminiscent of a forgotten era where firebending prowess
- 22:44and experimentation thrived. In this
- 22:47region, that is. It feels like a place where the
- 22:50boundaries of fire and combustion are pushed to their limits,
- 22:53driven by relentless pursuit of knowledge and
- 22:56mastery of firebending arts. Uh, as you step further
- 22:59into the chamber, the warmth and cracks
- 23:02it this looks like an area where the arts
- 23:04of fire making has come to
- 23:07fruition. This is
- 23:10years of history and science all
- 23:12formulated on these
- 23:14very uh as you step further into the
- 23:17chamber, the warmth and crackling of controlled flames
- 23:20echo through the air, creating the atmosphere that balances
- 23:23both danger and fascination. Uh, it is a place
- 23:26where ancient secrets allegedly are
- 23:28unlocked. I don't even know why I'm reading it at
- 23:31this seems it's a
- 23:34scientific
- 23:38you do see Kuro, and he seems to
- 23:41be, uh, rolling this giant
- 23:43barrel. I say giant barrel, it's a regular sized barrel, but I
- 23:46digress. He's rolling it over and he takes a
- 23:49crowbar and he pushes open
- 23:51the top of this barrel and he just sticks his head in there and he
- 23:54goes
- 23:58and then he takes a special spoon. He's got
- 24:01gloves on. He takes a special spoon. He starts to put
- 24:04a sort of ooey, gooey, viscous,
- 24:07clear substance into a jar
- 24:10and starts to set it on one of the shelves.
- 24:14And you could kind of hear him from a distance, uh, amidst
- 24:17the other noises of this room, in the room outside with the lava. And
- 24:20he says, yes, this will be perfect. Perfect,
- 24:23yes. For the experiment. Yes. I
- 24:26will find it. I will find the
- 24:31kind of I'll kind of lean over to Bill. All right,
- 24:34genius, what's the plan?
- 24:37You're the one without an injured foot here, so I
- 24:40can't exactly go in full bore like I usually would.
- 24:43Can we tell he's from the Fire Nation? Yes, he
- 24:46is wearing some, actually. Um, he's
- 24:49wearing Fire Nation military
- 24:51outfit, but it looks very old
- 24:54and very worn out. Can we tell if
- 24:57he's old? Yeah. Oh, yeah, he's pretty
- 25:00old and a bit worn out. M.
- 25:03Okay. Um, Bill, given
- 25:06that you have history with that and such,
- 25:09um, it doesn't look like or
- 25:12at least as far as you remember, it doesn't look like today's
- 25:15fire Nation.
- 25:18Yeah, got it.
- 25:21Okay, well, uh, PILs is going to be like, I don't know, he
- 25:24looks like some kind of crazy Fire Nation dude.
- 25:26Probably should just knock him out. That's the
- 25:29plan. I think that coming out of my
- 25:32mouth, but it's kind of nice to know
- 25:35that you're here with me. Uh, well, I'm not too
- 25:38fond of the Fire nation. I might
- 25:41be an outside party here, just asking a
- 25:44question on my personal curiosity, but if I remember
- 25:46correctly, I thought Brock wanted to come in here to make
- 25:49friends.
- 25:52Well, yeah, but I'm here to follow
- 25:55bill's Lead, and he wants to knock people out. Bill's
- 25:58Lead? You said to go knock him out. You're the one
- 26:01who brought me all the way into this cave. Yeah, I came
- 26:03in here to try and make friends. Yeah. Uh,
- 26:06but now that you want to knock him out I want to knock him
- 26:09out. I like knocking people out. Then
- 26:12go knock him out. What am I, just Mr.
- 26:15Muscle? You're not going to help me? Fine. I'll go knock him out with my
- 26:18stick. No, we don't need to do
- 26:20this individually. It's two on one, and he's an old
- 26:23man. We can really put the
- 26:26hurt on him, so let's just I
- 26:28was going to knock him out. Not fully bodily
- 26:31damaged. Well, potato,
- 26:34potato. You might be hurting really
- 26:36bad, Brock, but you shouldn't be inflicting that hurt onto other
- 26:39people. I project my hurt onto others. My
- 26:42therapist says it's an issue and I'm working on you have a
- 26:45therapist? Don't worry about it. Is it a
- 26:47rock? Is your therapist a rock, Brock? Yeah, I think,
- 26:50answering me truthfully, your therapist recommends it.
- 26:54So let's go see this old guy. Uh,
- 26:57don't worry about it. So I'm going to
- 27:00go over I won't even answer him. I'm not even
- 27:03going to dignify that with a response. Okay. And I'm going to
- 27:05go, and I'm going to limp.
- 27:08I'm going to limp my way over. I'm not going
- 27:11to knock him out. I'm not going to knock him out.
- 27:14What are you going to do? Don't worry.
- 27:17Uh, I'm going to go bill's going to walk to the
- 27:20other side behind the old guy. So wherever Brock is heading
- 27:23to, he's going to go the other way. So just going to kind of
- 27:26wait? Yeah, kind of encircle him and wait in the
- 27:30because there's a big machine or some kind of
- 27:32machine or something in the middle of this room. You
- 27:35would definitely be hidden leaning against it. Okay.
- 27:38Just watch. But are you, like, within view?
- 27:41No. Because assuming Brock's going to take all the attention
- 27:44okay. He's just kind of leaning there. Cool. All right. Just
- 27:47waiting to see what dumb stunt Brock does here. Fair enough.
- 27:50Um, dumb stunt. You sit here and
- 27:52watch like you did with the thing
- 27:55that hasn't happened yet canonically with the
- 27:58rock monster. What the heck is this guy going on about?
- 28:01So, first off, I
- 28:04will assess
- 28:07the situation. Okay. As you're walking up
- 28:10on this guy yeah. I don't tell you
- 28:13how to do your job. Go for it. I'm going to also assess the
- 28:15situation. I roll a seven plus
- 28:18focus is eight. Eight. Awesome. You can
- 28:21ask me a question. Uh, well, I
- 28:24can ask, uh,
- 28:26what is most vulnerable to
- 28:28me. So what in this room
- 28:32would be considered the most vulnerable?
- 28:35Vulnerable. Um okay.
- 28:38Is it the man?
- 28:41Yes, he's an old man. Uh, his
- 28:44research, I was going to say. But you look around the room,
- 28:47and as somebody that's grown up in the Earth kingdom, I would say that you
- 28:50recognize some of the materials that you
- 28:53see on the shelves. Um, and you see a lot of
- 28:56things that you recognize, including the barrel. Uh,
- 28:58you kind of notice that first. And you have
- 29:01seen blasting jelly before
- 29:04and you know what blasting jelly is and what it
- 29:07does and how it works. You also see other
- 29:09things, like I said on the wall, some of which you recognize, some of
- 29:12which you don't. But a lot of what's on the wall
- 29:15is very explosive
- 29:18materials. Mhm. Okay, so this
- 29:21is a dangerous man. So
- 29:24what I'm going to do, I'm going to mark two
- 29:26fatigue and trap the old man
- 29:29with earth sinking. Oh, okay. All right. I
- 29:32don't think I need to roll for that. Do I need to roll? You
- 29:35technically do, since it's an attack. And then you would
- 29:38get to choose a technique based on
- 29:41I rolled an eleven. Oh, wow.
- 29:43Okay. Um, so I believe plus my passion
- 29:46is actually a 13. You are taking I
- 29:49take two fatigue. Uh, what is your
- 29:52attack? I'm assuming it's probably advanced and
- 29:55attack. It is advanced in attack. Okay. What is it called?
- 29:58Earth sinking. Sink a foe into the earth itself. Mark
- 30:01two fatigue to trap an enemy
- 30:03standing on the ground in the Earth. They become
- 30:06trapped. Okay, cool. So you're doing an advanced attack.
- 30:09You rolled in eleven, you said. Yes, but the
- 30:12passion made it 13. Oh, um, that's true, but then it'd be
- 30:15minus two. So back to eleven.
- 30:17Awesome. Perfect. So
- 30:20you, um, choose one from this list. So you can mark
- 30:23a fatigue to use a learn technique.
- 30:26Uh, you can use a practice technique or you
- 30:29can use two basic or master techniques. Um,
- 30:35on top of the well, what
- 30:38is it? Show it marked
- 30:41curiosity. Show. It marked what? He was
- 30:44on a tour for fatigue. I was at
- 30:46one, so the Earth sinking will put me at three. Oh, okay.
- 30:49So yeah, if you want to use the Earth sinking, you would take
- 30:52a fatigue, um, since it's a learn technique.
- 30:55Okay. So I will use my earth
- 30:58sinking. All right. I will sink him into the ground, just
- 31:01his head's peeking out. Okay. And I'm going to signal
- 31:04to Bill like, hey, you're good, let's go over here. Okay. I'm going
- 31:07to just go up and be like, hey, what's with all the
- 31:10blasting jelly, man? All right, so you slam your foot,
- 31:13the good foot, into the ground. It kind of still hurts because you had to
- 31:16lean on the other foot. But nonetheless, you twist the
- 31:18foot, uh, on the ground, causing the,
- 31:21uh, earth to sort of soften
- 31:24around where he's standing and kind of becomes like a
- 31:27sand almost quicksand material. It pulls him under very
- 31:30quickly, um, up to his neck, in which you
- 31:33seal it. Um, he is now trapped,
- 31:36which I have. A card for so that I can keep track of that
- 31:39probably looks just like soccer. It does look like sokka
- 31:41with the little moose, uh,
- 31:44uh, whatever. Saber moose, I
- 31:47think. So he is now trapped. Um, you
- 31:50stand there over him. You call Bill over. It's
- 31:53up to Bill whether he wants to follow through with that or not. But whatever the
- 31:56case, uh, that's where you've got him. All right, so I'll
- 31:59walk up to him and I'll just ask him,
- 32:01sub with all this blasting jelly. Looks, ah, like a
- 32:04bad time here. Are
- 32:07you from the Fire Nation?
- 32:10They sent you? They sent you to
- 32:12assassinate me? I'm from Omashu,
- 32:15bro. I don't know who's from the Fire Nation around
- 32:18here. From Omashu. Are
- 32:21you an Earth Kingdom soldier? How did you know about what I was
- 32:24doing here? We just saw some dude
- 32:27with a barrel wanted to try and make friends, but then saw you
- 32:29were probably not looking to make too many friends.
- 32:32Wait, hold on a second.
- 32:35Who was the dude with the
- 32:37barrel? I think it was you, because you
- 32:40took a pretty good whiff of that barrel when you opened it, right?
- 32:43That barrel over there. And he points with his nose
- 32:46because that's what he's got to point with right now. Uh,
- 32:48yeah, it looks like the barrel. Where did
- 32:51you see this man with the barrel outside this
- 32:54cave. When? I don't know. How
- 32:57long does it take to get into the cave? Uh, for
- 33:00me or for other people? Uh, let's just can
- 33:03hypothetically, if someone were to go into all three
- 33:06tunnels, char their foot, go into the second
- 33:08tunnel, uh, give up immediately there, and then go to a
- 33:11third tunnel, and then take a little while to get through.
- 33:14Uh, run back to the exploding things where they may have
- 33:17exploded twice, get some dirt, come back
- 33:20into the third room, and then go back and dump more
- 33:23dirt. Uh, about how long would that be?
- 33:29Drag the two and divide that
- 33:32by nine. Uh, add seven to
- 33:35that. Uh, probably about
- 33:3820 to 22 minutes
- 33:40precisely. And, um, about 20 to
- 33:4322 minutes ago precisely is when you saw him.
- 33:46That's strange. I was outside the cave 20 to
- 33:4922 minutes ago, and I did not see a man
- 33:52with a barrel outside. Did you have a
- 33:55barrel? Yes, I did. It was probably
- 33:58you. It probably was.
- 34:01Why is the bills kind of I just wanted to be
- 34:04sure. Walk over. Why is the Fire
- 34:07Nation after you? The Fire
- 34:09nation. They did not like the
- 34:12experiments I was doing. There is the
- 34:16I can't do air quotes because my arms
- 34:19raise your eyebrows. Oh, yeah, it's a good idea.
- 34:23There is a certain limitation,
- 34:26and you see eyebrows pretty good, actually,
- 34:31of science and what is
- 34:34or isn't allowed. And he does
- 34:36the eyebrows again. What kind of experimentation are
- 34:39we talking about? Are you testing stuff on people?
- 34:42Are you making bombs? I'm making bombs, and
- 34:45I'm learning the sciences of combustion
- 34:48bending. Combustion bending? Is that
- 34:51even are you a bender? Yes.
- 34:55Oh, jeez. I think you trapped him. Well, if he's a
- 34:58firebender, I mean, I kind of like I kneel down, cover
- 35:01his ears. Well, if he's a firebender, he could technically still
- 35:03bend out of his mouth. Watch.
- 35:07And there's, like, a little spout of fire that starts to
- 35:10disseminate. This is a tiny little like he's old. Well,
- 35:13yeah, but I didn't think he could hear me. I didn't know his hearing was that
- 35:16good. Yeah, that's the one thing I haven't really lost yet.
- 35:19He's lost everything else, though. Well,
- 35:22I've got crazy, shaky
- 35:25hands, which is not
- 35:28great when you're dealing with things like blasting I
- 35:31bet. And other material. Why your hair
- 35:33looks so uneven? You only have half
- 35:36an eyebrow. It was really weird. Those air quotes.
- 35:39Yeah, those air quotes.
- 35:44The other eyebrow, I lost that because I flew too close
- 35:47to the lava. Wanted to know what it smelled like.
- 35:52The hair is uneven. That just comes with age.
- 35:55What are you going to do with these explosives? Boom. Make things
- 35:57boom. I'm going to figure it out. I'm going to figure out how. I'm going
- 36:00to figure out combustion bending. I'm going to learn it. I'm going to
- 36:03perfect it. What kind of things? I'll be the most
- 36:05destructive firebender in the
- 36:08world. And then I'll show everybody. I'll show everybody
- 36:11what for. I
- 36:14think we should keep him in this hole. I think so,
- 36:16too. Um, I'll take a few of these bombs
- 36:19to go, though. Uh, so I'll just is
- 36:22there a back way out of this place? I paid for that
- 36:25stuff, and I'm not I just take
- 36:28a few I take a few of the completed
- 36:31bomb or bombs that look like they're completed. I just kind of stuff
- 36:34them in my little bag. I'll let you out if you're
- 36:37an apprentice. That was just like you once. What's his
- 36:40name? I'd love to meet him. He
- 36:43didn't have a name. He was the, uh, orphan kid, and I took him
- 36:46in. He had a weird tattoo on his forehead.
- 36:49Oh, combustion man.
- 36:53Is that a callback to combustion? Man?
- 36:55Uh, talking about oh, yeah, you've only
- 36:58seen the movie. Uh, so how
- 37:01about this? I'll let you out of there
- 37:05if, uh, we can take a few of these bombs to
- 37:07go, and you show us how to
- 37:10get out of here. Let me ask you a
- 37:13question. What's up? Are, uh, you a
- 37:15firebender? I sunk you into the earth. What do you
- 37:18think? What about you? Are you a
- 37:21firebender? What does it look like? And I hold up my bow
- 37:24stab. Well, it's a stick. Are
- 37:27you a stick bender? Yeah, that's the best way to describe
- 37:30it. Strange. Well, then
- 37:32I can't teach you the ways of combustion.
- 37:35No, that's not what we ask. We asked how to get
- 37:38out of. I was just looking for an opportunity
- 37:42presented itself. We don't want to learn about this stupid
- 37:45combustion. How dare you? Okay,
- 37:48we'll leave you in here. Ah,
- 37:51hold on. Reiterate what the deal was again?
- 37:55You give us some bombs and all the money you have,
- 38:01that's my thing to rob. You just spent
- 38:04my money on the barrel of
- 38:07blasting. I'll take the barrel blasting.
- 38:10What the hell? That took me, like, two months
- 38:13to get the money ever to slow you down,
- 38:15because you're talking about blowing up the
- 38:18countryside. I'm rubbing off on you. I love
- 38:20it against the guy going around blowing
- 38:23stuff up on this beautiful countryside. Now, give me just a
- 38:26second. Uh, you want to take
- 38:29the explosives with you? What do you want to
- 38:32do with us? Uh, that's a good point. We should just chuck them
- 38:35in the fire. That would make
- 38:38this whole place go up. Yes. Diggy. See, now,
- 38:41he's not a firebender, but he gets it. I
- 38:43understand.
- 38:49Oh, you know what? Okay, let's
- 38:52go chuck him in the lake. I got an idea.
- 38:56We'll take the barrel. We don't need to take the bombs. We'll
- 38:59take the barrel. Okay, and can you tell us how to get
- 39:02out of here, please? Uh, yes. Okay. Uh,
- 39:05because I want you out,
- 39:08I don't want you here, so I'll give you an honest answer.
- 39:11Okay? There is a tunnel at
- 39:14the back of this facility. There's another set of doors. You see
- 39:16them? They're right over
- 39:19I can't turn my neck that much, but they're right over
- 39:22there. And you just cut over.
- 39:25Yeah, you see a pair of doors. Uh,
- 39:29and then there's, like, a steep tunnel.
- 39:32It's going to go down, and it's got
- 39:35slick uzi stuff on the sides.
- 39:38It's a one way trip. Trust me, I have tried. How you get
- 39:41out? Yes. Like a slide? Yes,
- 39:44it's very much like a slide. Uh, you can't go, uh, up. You cannot
- 39:47go up. It's too slippery.
- 39:49I can't go up. Uh, I don't know. Maybe like,
- 39:52uh, that's simple. I don't you know,
- 39:55Bender could go up, but I don't know. How
- 39:58about how long does it take to get out? Oh, it has a pretty
- 40:01quick you slide right out of here. It
- 40:04won't be a fast slide. They'll spit you right
- 40:07out under the grass. Uh, I'll go over
- 40:10to Bill real quick. Why do you have an evil look on your face? Don't
- 40:13worry about it. So I kind of pull Bill off to the side
- 40:15where the old man can't hear. Okay,
- 40:20so we'll go outside the door.
- 40:24Give us a second. Give us a second. Uh,
- 40:27quick power. Old man's hair definitely blew
- 40:30it up. And we wait to see if he
- 40:33responds. Okay, so I think we nothing.
- 40:35Okay, so I got 90.
- 40:40So if you want to throw
- 40:43that barrel in the lava yeah,
- 40:46I kind of want to throw it in the lava. Too. Yeah. So I think what
- 40:48we do here, I just want to blow up this
- 40:51whole facility. So what we'll do,
- 40:54we'll take the barrel. Um, we're going to
- 40:57bring it out out here. I'm just going to walk in,
- 41:00grab the barrel. Don't say a word to the man
- 41:03because of the way he's facing. He can't see you. He
- 41:06just hears you moving.
- 41:09What are you doing back there? Hey, now, what are you
- 41:12doing? I don't say a word to him. I just
- 41:15saw don't you dare dump that thing jelly on me. It's
- 41:18not as funny as you think. Oh, that's a great,
- 41:21uh, sprinkle on him, then dump the rest.
- 41:25I'll take a Glob out. I'll take a Glob out in my hand.
- 41:28Your bare hand? Yeah. Don't worry about it. All
- 41:31right. Don't worry about it.
- 41:34I'm already 20% scored.
- 41:38So I take, like, a Glob out of the barrel, and
- 41:40I close it back up, and
- 41:44I makeshift a little ramp,
- 41:47and with a little tiny little block stopper
- 41:50on the top, and I put the barrel so it's like
- 41:52this. Like this. I'm drawing
- 41:55it, drawing it. Everybody like, here's the
- 41:58cliff. I make a little thing here, put the
- 42:01barrel there, and I have a little stopper. Little stopper.
- 42:04Right. Okay. So I earth bend a
- 42:07ramp with a little stopper, and
- 42:09then so as we am I good to do this
- 42:12or do so then I'm just
- 42:15like, okay, Bill, let's go. And so we just both
- 42:18calmly walk back into the
- 42:21room. I take the blasting jelly. I splap it
- 42:24on the man's head, and then
- 42:27I just okay. I earth bend the
- 42:30stopper to go down. So the
- 42:33barrel rolls off the ramp into
- 42:36the lava as we hit
- 42:38the slide. Are you okay with this plan?
- 42:41That's where the barrel was.
- 42:46Brock built it, but he has not set it off.
- 42:49He built it. And he was explaining that to Bill.
- 42:52Yeah, that is my plan.
- 42:55He is not currently slapping onto
- 42:58the jelly into the
- 43:00hole as we leave through the exit. Yes.
- 43:03It's going to look awesome. It's going to go into the lava. Into the
- 43:06lava. So this whole place goes up,
- 43:09and we get to walk away. We get to slide away
- 43:12from an explosion. Even cooler. What happens to the
- 43:15old guy? May he rest in
- 43:18peace. Okay. I mean, I'm not a
- 43:21fan of killing people. Well, you see,
- 43:23there's probably more than just this one guy in this whole
- 43:26cave here. No, he said he was
- 43:29the only one. Did he? Yeah. Uh, I peeked
- 43:32my head into the door. Hey, how many people are in here other than
- 43:35us? It's just me. I don't trust anyone.
- 43:38I mean, my ostrich horse is outside, but he I
- 43:41slammed the door.
- 43:46Okay, so if it's just him,
- 43:49so what do you want to do then? I mean, I don't know,
- 43:51because if we let him go, he'll just go and
- 43:54ruin the countryside with his explosions,
- 43:57and he could almost hurt people in the
- 44:00future at the same time. I don't want to
- 44:03kill a guy. Well, we're not. The explosion
- 44:06is.
- 44:09This is a weird take on Batman.
- 44:12This is a very reverse on. People don't
- 44:15kill people. Guns kill people. I just wanted
- 44:18to go to my tree, have a relaxing
- 44:21afternoon. Um, I didn't want
- 44:23to drag both their bodies
- 44:27limpidly through a cave to go meet
- 44:30an old man to lead him to his death.
- 44:33He has lived a long life. Sure looks like
- 44:36it, yeah. Uh,
- 44:39so what would you suggest here? What would you
- 44:41suggest? This place is going up one
- 44:44way or another. We've already established that.
- 44:47You know what?
- 44:50You're going to try and roll the persuade or something?
- 44:53No. Bill's just thinking, uh, would
- 44:56this be the first person he's ever killed?
- 44:59Would I be here for your first
- 45:02no. Is that what Brock
- 45:04asks? No. Well, yeah, you ask. Bill, if this is the
- 45:07first person you ever would this be the first person you've ever
- 45:10killed? No.
- 45:13Is this the first person you've ever killed?
- 45:17No. So, uh,
- 45:20what are we doing here? Man, what an angsty teen conversation.
- 45:23This is weird. How many kids have killed in
- 45:26person before now we're about to kill a second at huh?
- 45:29Least two. This
- 45:32is weird. It's only weird if you make
- 45:35it weird. I'm chilling.
- 45:37Well, I'm thinking of all the people he could
- 45:40hurt in this countryside and the beautiful countryside.
- 45:47Uh, we could have been back at the tree by now
- 45:50if you weren't busy having this moral dilemma.
- 45:53How are you so fine with this, brock,
- 45:56people die. Stuff happens. It's life.
- 46:01Uh, plus,
- 46:04I'm kind of a sociopath, in case you haven't been
- 46:07able to piece that together yet.
- 46:10I'm sure more signs of this will come in the future,
- 46:13make this even more clear. Yeah.
- 46:16Bill's, uh, like rubbing his arm, his hand this whole time
- 46:18as he's thinking, uh, and he's like, all
- 46:21right, make it
- 46:24quick. Yes.
- 46:31Why are you so excited? I don't know. The old man can kind of,
- 46:34like, hear from me.
- 46:39Having a good time out there. That's nice.
- 46:43My lab to be a fun place for teenagers,
- 46:46but I suppose whatever floats their
- 46:49boat, it is spirit rest
- 46:52day.
- 46:57I'm excitedly going in
- 47:02there, about to put his spirit to rest on
- 47:06over somebody's puppy on
- 47:09Christmas. Now? Boxing Day?
- 47:11Sure. Who cares? But spear rest day,
- 47:15I don't feel like I'm putting his spirit to rest there.
- 47:18My spirit's unrest.
- 47:20Fine. What
- 47:23if I just bring him out? I
- 47:25slap some stone. What if we just
- 47:28destroy all of his work, but he lives?
- 47:31But then we don't get to make the place go
- 47:34boom. You can do that. We just push him down the thing
- 47:37first, and then we follow it. We cause the explosion, we
- 47:40follow him. That way, we don't kill him, but we
- 47:43destroy all of his research and everything he's created. That
- 47:45way, by the time he can catch up to
- 47:48where he was, he'll be dead.
- 47:51Natural causes, not our causes. Right.
- 47:54All right. So this would stop him from
- 47:57terrorizing the countryside, but we have no blood on our
- 48:00hands. I like this solution a lot
- 48:02better. All right. Because it's Spear Arrest
- 48:05Day. Because it's Spirit Rest Day. I'll do
- 48:07it. Uh, just to
- 48:10throw out to all the people listening right now, I'd love to hear
- 48:13your thoughts on this entire inner
- 48:16conflict that these two characters had about whether or
- 48:19not they should kill a person in a massive fiery
- 48:21explosion and just leave and then
- 48:24now are finally coming to the conclusion of wait.
- 48:27What if we just left with him and then
- 48:30blew up the place? Not killing a person on soul
- 48:33rest day. Just would love to hear your opinion.
- 48:36I think I even agree with us that, uh, it was fine until we
- 48:39remembered it was a holiday.
- 48:42I bet. Ah, people are listening and going, no, not on a
- 48:44holiday.
- 48:49They remembered. Oh, few.
- 48:52Okay, so
- 48:55I'll go in, clarify. I'll go back in the laboratory.
- 48:59I thought it was spirit. Spirit rest, soul rest. I've heard it
- 49:02both ways. It's just with Avatar, you have the
- 49:05spirits. So that kind of gives a little bit of a different
- 49:07connotation.
- 49:10It's like different words are used for different areas of
- 49:13so. In the Earth Kingle, they use soul rest, spirit rest. Uh, the
- 49:16only reason I clarify is just so that nobody on the thing goes like,
- 49:19whoa, hold on. You said soul rest. Uh, now you say spirit rest.
- 49:22To clarify, it is slang. This is the
- 49:25kids slang. We're the young kids, all right?
- 49:28They're like, yeah, spirit vibes. This
- 49:31is vibes, bro. So I'm going to go
- 49:33in. I'll grab the barrel, still not saying a
- 49:36word to him. And I'll go back out, shut
- 49:39the door. I make the ramp. I make the
- 49:42little stopper so that don't put jelly
- 49:45on his head. We don't put jelly on his head.
- 49:48Me and Bill go in. I lift him out of the hole.
- 49:51I Earth bend, uh, some restraints
- 49:54on his hands and on his feet. And I
- 49:57tell him this year. This is Bill. I don't know if we ever
- 49:59introduced you. This is Bill. Okay.
- 50:02You're going to go with him down the slide.
- 50:05He's the stick bender, right? Yeah. Stick bender. Yeah.
- 50:09Okay. Yeah. And if you, uh, cause any trouble,
- 50:11you'll get stick bended on your ass.
- 50:14Bam. No, spinky. Spink. Yeah,
- 50:17exactly. I thought it was a different one.
- 50:20I can knock him top the head, too. Knock you right
- 50:23out. Still not what I was thinking, but okay.
- 50:26Do you want to do an intimidate for that? Not really.
- 50:32Yeah, it doesn't really do you much good. Really?
- 50:34Yeah. Anyways, uh, I'm going to start leading him. I'm going
- 50:37to put my arm on his back and just kind of lead him to
- 50:40the exit. Uh, and he like, hops. I don't know if
- 50:43you did you put stuff on his feet? Yeah, he did.
- 50:46He just hopping. What are you guys going
- 50:49to do once we get out? What's
- 50:52the plan? I don't really know. He's a loser.
- 50:55I don't even know why I'd be taken away by a couple of teenagers.
- 50:57That's a stickbender and an Earthbender. Who are you
- 51:00guys with? Um, we're with
- 51:03the brew crew. What
- 51:06is the brew? I've never heard of
- 51:10who are they affiliated with? I'm here just to go sit
- 51:12by my tree. I didn't get signed up for this.
- 51:15Okay, so Bill and the old man go down to the slide.
- 51:18I make sure they get down. Uh, yeah, I get to the okay.
- 51:21Okay, so you push him in. Yeah, I just kind of kick his
- 51:24feet, shove him straight down, and it's a very
- 51:27smooth rock slide. And that aided
- 51:30by the slippery nest. It's actually kind of a fun ride.
- 51:32Yeah. And he goes
- 51:35and as you guys are going, he's like, uh, as
- 51:38we're going down, he's talking to me.
- 51:41Yeah. And then he goes
- 51:44back up there. You'll, uh see,
- 51:47I like the sound of that.
- 51:50So I'll Earth bend the stopper down,
- 51:53and I'll follow him, like, a few seconds right behind him.
- 51:55Okay. And as we're coming down,
- 51:59barrel slide, you're going to get a huge speed boost. It goes
- 52:01into the lava, and you just hear
- 52:07and you're sliding next to the man. You're coming to the end. You can see the end
- 52:10of the little, like, tunnel. You can see the light and stuff. That
- 52:14the exit. And he goes, what is that sound?
- 52:17Hold on a second here. Hold on. I don't like this. And you
- 52:20can feel like the area or the slide
- 52:23starts you guys are coming out. It's
- 52:26like the mountain basically begins to, uh,
- 52:28collapse on itself from the explosion. He goes
- 52:34as you guys shoot out of the hole, kind of fly through
- 52:37the air and land in a tuft of grass. Um,
- 52:40Brock, you're coming down and you look behind you. You can
- 52:43see the flames starting to shoot through
- 52:46this tunnel, like, following after you. And you
- 52:49can feel the little tiny flames licking at your
- 52:52feet as you are suddenly shot out of
- 52:54this tunnel, this slick tunnel
- 52:57at, uh, a high speed flying through the air.
- 53:02Now, wasn't that more fun than sitting in a tree?
- 53:05And then you land. I didn't
- 53:07land
- 53:11a tree.
- 53:16I thought the landing was what
- 53:19not in that tree. I thought the landing was
- 53:22implied. Oh, no, sorry. Um,
- 53:26I just told you you went shooting out of there at, like, a high speed
- 53:29because of the flame bus. Okay, I'll
- 53:32make it cool. I'll do, like, a double front flip.
- 53:35Land in a tree, push your luck
- 53:40an eight. I won't take the minus since
- 53:43you're, like, literally just free flying through the air. That's
- 53:46not really a physical trade. It's just like a maneuverable
- 53:49trade, all right? You push by, you do a
- 53:52flip. I do a flip. You
- 53:54do one flip, and you just narrowly manage to grab
- 53:57onto a branch from the tree as you come
- 54:00to an abrupt stop, uh, about a hundred
- 54:03yards from the other.
- 54:06Uh, fun than sitting in a tree.
- 54:09You're sitting in a tree right now.
- 54:12Brock ironic, isn't it?
- 54:15The man is infuriated. He's freaking out. He
- 54:17said no. He stands up, and then he
- 54:20falls to his knees and he says, i, uh, will
- 54:23never be able to build that much
- 54:26of my lap back in my
- 54:28lifetime. Oh, perfect. In what
- 54:31remains of my life.
- 54:34Sounds like a skill issue. Sounds like
- 54:38I don't know, but maybe. Old
- 54:41guy. What? I could learn to stick
- 54:43bent like you. You could
- 54:46just find a new meaning in life.
- 54:49I know a bunch of old guys down,
- 54:51uh, in the town of Gualing, and they
- 54:54just play Pi Show tile all day long. You could become
- 54:57a master Pi Show player. You
- 55:00think so? I mean, you're smart. I mean,
- 55:03I saw all the work you were doing up there, and a Pi Show
- 55:06player needs to be smart. I sometimes play
- 55:09with them. Um, I'd come in and play with you once in a while, play a
- 55:12couple of games intelligent. It's true.
- 55:14I appreciate you noticing
- 55:17my high mental
- 55:20fortitude. Plus some quality. You can read all the
- 55:22books you want. They got a great library. Bit nerdy,
- 55:25but okay. Well, you can read fictional
- 55:28books. Stories about, like, dragons and stuff. They breathe
- 55:31fire, maybe.
- 55:35I'll, uh, pick up drinking, and
- 55:37one day I'll conversing through the
- 55:40doors of a tea shop and harass the
- 55:43employees until they kick me
- 55:46out. Oddly specific.
- 55:49Very specific old man. But you know what? If
- 55:52that's what you want to do, as long as you're not
- 55:55destroying countrysides and cities with your
- 55:58destructive powers and just the occasional
- 56:01too many drinks, uh, I think that's
- 56:04a better life.
- 56:06Yeah, go with that.
- 56:10Maybe revenge isn't all it's
- 56:13chucked up to be.
- 56:15Revenge. Right. That's what, uh, I was going
- 56:18for. Revenge on who?
- 56:21Mostly the Fire Nation, but
- 56:24anyone that made fun of me, really. But you're nowhere near
- 56:27the Fire Nation.
- 56:29They kicked me out. This is where I was,
- 56:33this is where I had to do my research. But I
- 56:36digress. It's gone now, so I have
- 56:39to change my life's purpose.
- 56:43Okay. Tough break, kid.
- 56:45Yeah, sucks to suck. Well, uh, we'll give
- 56:48you a lift back to Gualang. I appreciate
- 56:51that. We can take my ostrich horse.
- 56:54You still have your ostrich horse? I do still have my ostrich
- 56:57horse. That's Jordan descartes. What's his
- 57:00name? Carlton.
- 57:02Carlton. That's a good name for an ostrich
- 57:05horse. He's pretty great.
- 57:08Good thing nothing bad happened. Hauling
- 57:11barrels of blasting jelly. But from now on, he
- 57:13won't be hauling anymore. Barrels of blasting
- 57:16jelly. Unless, of course, I get a
- 57:19job doing so. Barrels of
- 57:22alcohol, which I do have connections
- 57:25in, because obviously, I bought quite a bit,
- 57:28so I know a guy, and he might need it
- 57:31hold from place to place. You're handling
- 57:34this quite well. I'm doing my best.
- 57:38When you don't have much left, much
- 57:41time left, you kind of just got to roll with the
- 57:44butt, man. I feel way
- 57:47better we didn't leave you in there. Same
- 57:49here, I suppose. Uh, I mean, if I'm being
- 57:52completely honest with you guys,
- 57:56if you guys had tried to challenge me, I
- 57:59probably would have just blown it all up myself
- 58:02with all of us in there, so probably.
- 58:05You probably handled this the best way that you
- 58:07possibly could have.
- 58:12If what you described to me about how you came
- 58:15through the tunnels was any reflection on how
- 58:18poorly you handled those
- 58:21puzzles, then at least you
- 58:24finished things off with a pretty solid
- 58:26strategy.
- 58:31Good on you. I thought he was gonna
- 58:33say, oh, uh, I wished I was
- 58:36still
- 58:39in my laboratory
- 58:42among the
- 58:47dying with my, uh, life's work. But,
- 58:50hey, at least
- 58:53at least I had the chance to smell
- 58:56what love smelled like before it was all
- 58:59blown to heck. Uh,
- 59:02okay. Anyways,
- 59:04let's go get
- 59:08laughing.
- 59:11Some pretty funny stuff. We should be taking
- 59:14appreciation. It is Soul rest
- 59:17day.
- 59:20None of us have rested at
- 59:23all. Earthbender guy? Yeah.
- 59:26What's your name? Uh, I'm brock. Brock.
- 59:29And Bill. Yeah, Bill. Happy
- 59:31soul rest day. What's your name?
- 59:35Oh, my name is Kuros. Uh,
- 59:40I was kind of obsessed. I kind of assumed, but
- 59:43you know what they say. Well, when you assume
- 59:45that you make
- 59:50a donkey fly out of you and me yeah.
- 59:53You never want to assume. So nice to
- 59:56meet you, Kuro, and happy soul rest to
- 59:59you. Thank you. And how happy your soul is not
- 1:00:02resting right now. That's true. None of ours
- 1:00:05are. None of our souls are resting.
- 1:00:08If I can come to accept it, then I suppose
- 1:00:10my soul can be at peace. Then
- 1:00:13that's if I can give up the
- 1:00:15revenge and everything else,
- 1:00:19then I can be at peace. Exactly.
- 1:00:23All right. Hi ho,
- 1:00:26Carlton. Let's get back to
- 1:00:28Guaaling. Do we need to keep him tied up? Yeah,
- 1:00:31probably. Uh, well,
- 1:00:34you keep him yeah.
- 1:00:37And just kick him off to a curb or something. Yeah, we'll
- 1:00:40just like you're going to leave him
- 1:00:43at right. Yeah, we'll leave him with Carlson. Carlson and the old
- 1:00:45folks, um, home. Okay. We'll just
- 1:00:48open the door, be like, hey, we found this guy
- 1:00:51over in the mountains. I was told there'd
- 1:00:54be pie show. Yeah,
- 1:00:57his restraints are throw him in. I
- 1:01:00think you've removed the restraint.
- 1:01:05Well, better get ready
- 1:01:07for a lot of jello in my future.
- 1:01:13Okay, so what do we do?
- 1:01:15Well, I'm kind of
- 1:01:18tired, so you can go
- 1:01:22do, uh, your tree thing. Unless no, I'm going back
- 1:01:25to the tree. Unless walking away.
- 1:01:28You want to show me those cool rocks?
- 1:01:33I showed you them. You saw where they were. Yeah,
- 1:01:36but we didn't get to check them out. You go check them out.
- 1:01:39I'm going to my tree. Don't tell anyone about
- 1:01:42the tree. You have to promise me.
- 1:01:46Yeah, yeah, whatever. Okay.
- 1:01:49See you, Brock. And with that, have, uh, a happy
- 1:01:52soul rest day. Happy soul rest day to
- 1:01:55you. And with that Bill and Brock's
- 1:01:57Soul Rest day adventure. Hey, that's a great title.
- 1:02:00I didn't even think about that. Bill and Brock's epic Adventure bill
- 1:02:03and Brock's Soul Rest Day adventure
- 1:02:06comes to an end. Thank you
- 1:02:09all for listening to this fun little one shot.
- 1:02:12We'll see you guys back onto the main
- 1:02:15show next time. Well, hopefully next time,
