- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to episode ten of Revellio for January ninth,
- 0:13Speaker 1: twenty twenty five.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I'm Amy and I'm Nicole, and first, Happy New Year, everybody,
- 0:37Speaker 2: Happy New Year. And this episode we have a special
- 0:41Speaker 2: guest with us this week, so we have Carmen, who
- 0:44Speaker 2: is a host on the Family Fiction podcast. So welcome Carmen.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Do you want to tell us a little bit about
- 0:52Speaker 2: yourself Hogwarts House Harry Potter story?
- 0:57Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I have a good one. I am a
- 1:00Speaker 3: proud Hufflepuff, you know, the underrepresented house in the series.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Yes, well you're on the majority here.
- 1:14Speaker 3: You know, it makes sense that the Hufflepuffs would be
- 1:16Speaker 3: making a podcast. It's already in the vibes. I My
- 1:22Speaker 3: fun Harry Potter story is I took a Harry Potter
- 1:26Speaker 3: class in college and it was like a modern British
- 1:31Speaker 3: literature class, but we got to like study the books
- 1:33Speaker 3: and like the different theologies and stuff, and we got
- 1:37Speaker 3: to go to England and Scotland as part of that
- 1:42Speaker 3: class and got to see a bunch of the filming
- 1:46Speaker 3: locations and like the Leaveston Studios tour which was really cool.
- 1:51Speaker 3: But yeah, like Nicole said, just a co host on
- 1:54Speaker 3: Family fiction with my cousin, a podcast where we talk
- 1:57Speaker 3: about books, and we've been going through the Harry Potter series.
- 2:00Speaker 3: So this is right on par with what's been happenings.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Great timing, yes, but thanks for having me on. I'm
- 2:10Speaker 3: excited to be here.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Yes, we're excited to have you all right, So in
- 2:16Speaker 1: this episode we'll be discussing some of our unanswered questions
- 2:20Speaker 1: from the Harry Potter series. But first listening to w
- 2:29Speaker 1: W in the Wizarding Wireless Network.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Now for the latest headlines. So there is pretty slow
- 2:36Speaker 2: news this time, but there is some stuff to share.
- 2:39Speaker 2: So the season finale of Wizards of Baking aired on
- 2:42Speaker 2: December nineteenth. Spoiler alert if you are still waiting to
- 2:47Speaker 2: catch up on the show, maybe skip a couple seconds here.
- 2:52Speaker 2: But Zoe and Jordan ended up being the winners. So
- 2:55Speaker 2: if you've been watching the show, you probably know who
- 2:57Speaker 2: I'm talking about. So did they win the Wizards of
- 3:01Speaker 2: Bacon Cup. But they will also be featured in an
- 3:03Speaker 2: upcoming Harry Potter themed cookbook. So I watch I don't
- 3:08Speaker 2: I know you saw a couple episodes, Amy. I don't
- 3:11Speaker 2: know if you watch the show carbon, but I loved
- 3:15Speaker 2: the show and I really hope that we get more seasons,
- 3:19Speaker 2: and I think it seemed to be really successful. Juan
- 3:24Speaker 2: and Elizabeth was the team that were my favorite the
- 3:27Speaker 2: entire season, and they were kind of my pick to win. However,
- 3:32Speaker 2: I will say that basically, by the end of the
- 3:35Speaker 2: final episode, the winner was chosen based on that final
- 3:38Speaker 2: show piece. They did not like their entire season performance,
- 3:43Speaker 2: and one like Zoe and Jordan deserved it based on
- 3:47Speaker 2: their final show piece. It was awesome, and for those
- 3:52Speaker 2: of you that maybe didn't watch it, it was nice
- 3:54Speaker 2: because it like kind of what you just mentioned, Carmen
- 3:56Speaker 2: about the studio tour. Obviously, because it was filmed there,
- 3:59Speaker 2: they also got to kind of show different areas of
- 4:03Speaker 2: the studio tour. I know we talked about that a
- 4:04Speaker 2: little bit in a prior episode, but they kind of
- 4:07Speaker 2: ended the season finale in the Great Hall, of course,
- 4:09Speaker 2: and all of the guests like Havana and Warwick and
- 4:14Speaker 2: Bonnie all came back for that final episode and were
- 4:18Speaker 2: part of the judging team and part of picking the winners.
- 4:21Speaker 2: So they kind of made this whole fanfare from it.
- 4:24Speaker 2: But yeah, so either way, episode or season finale wrapped
- 4:28Speaker 2: up and it was a really good show, and if
- 4:31Speaker 2: you haven't watched it yet, I super recommend catching up
- 4:35Speaker 2: because I'm not usually a fan of like baking shows
- 4:38Speaker 2: or food shows, but this one was really cool and
- 4:40Speaker 2: just some of the creations that they made were just
- 4:43Speaker 2: so insane, and.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I think just because actually like just like a regular
- 4:50Speaker 1: baking show, like there's those mechanical and like magical elements involved,
- 4:54Speaker 1: which makes it that much more entertaining in my opinion.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I actually have a little bit of bitterness
- 5:01Speaker 3: towards the show because I was supposed to meet Bonnie
- 5:06Speaker 3: Wright and Oliver and James Phelps in Knoxville, Tennessee at
- 5:11Speaker 3: a convention. We had tickets and everything, and James and
- 5:14Speaker 3: Oliver had to cancel because they were.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Filing the show.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I did get to meet Bonnie, but we were supposed
- 5:22Speaker 3: to do like the whole trio. I was going to
- 5:24Speaker 3: have like a Weasley family photo and they got blononaparte.
- 5:28Speaker 1: So a little bitter towards the show.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Well, don't let that.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I mean, just maybe like skip through the parts where
- 5:36Speaker 2: James and Oliver were like, they're just they're a little
- 5:39Speaker 2: bit They're not necessary, they don't matter, right, They really truly,
- 5:45Speaker 2: they are not fully necessary.
- 5:47Speaker 4: You could totally skip over them a little bit.
- 5:49Speaker 2: But but yeah, super super fun show and I'm kind
- 5:55Speaker 2: of sad it's over.
- 5:56Speaker 4: I went by so quick.
- 5:57Speaker 2: But again, I hope that we get more c I
- 6:00Speaker 2: don't know what they would do, like if they did
- 6:02Speaker 2: more seasons, because they.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Already kind of.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Did all the main areas like of the studio tour
- 6:11Speaker 2: in the show, so I don't know how they would
- 6:13Speaker 2: like expand on that, but I'm sure they could figure
- 6:15Speaker 2: out something.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I wonder if they could go to the other studio
- 6:19Speaker 1: tour locations like film On in Tokyo, yeah, and then
- 6:25Speaker 1: film Yeah, that could be kind of cool.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean they could definitely like how they mix
- 6:32Speaker 2: up with having the different magical elements and stuff like that,
- 6:35Speaker 2: there's definitely different things they could bring in there, or
- 6:38Speaker 2: like the task of what they need to complete, they
- 6:40Speaker 2: could probably come up with like different things there. But
- 6:43Speaker 2: I don't know. It was just a really fun show
- 6:47Speaker 2: and their stuff looked so good, like I wish I
- 6:50Speaker 2: could be there to like taste test, and sometimes like
- 6:54Speaker 2: didn't even look like something you could eat. And then
- 6:56Speaker 2: it's yeah, it's cool too because it's like you're familiar
- 6:58Speaker 2: with it, you know, being a fan of the series
- 7:00Speaker 2: and just seeing yeah, even what people can create. The
- 7:04Speaker 2: teams were all great, but yes, so I definitely wanted
- 7:07Speaker 2: to highlight just that show wrapping up and give a
- 7:10Speaker 2: little bit of a review on it. We also learned
- 7:16Speaker 2: that the first four Harry Potter films are going to
- 7:18Speaker 2: be returning to US theaters in February, and I think
- 7:23Speaker 2: the most exciting thing about this is that select screenings
- 7:25Speaker 2: are going to be available in three D and forty X,
- 7:29Speaker 2: and I think this might be the first time we've
- 7:31Speaker 2: ever gotten the films in like these other kind of formats.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Obviously not the first time they've returned the theaters, so
- 7:39Speaker 2: this is super exciting.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I think I remember seeing I want to say it
- 7:44Speaker 1: was Deadley Allo's Part one in three D.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah, like the later films I think came out,
- 7:50Speaker 2: but like these earlier films, I think it's the first
- 7:52Speaker 2: time I've been converted to those formats.
- 7:55Speaker 3: I'm just imagining Buckbeats flight in forty.
- 7:58Speaker 1: X, the wind, some.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Splashing on you, the whole wind.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Yeah, the entirety of Galvit of fire, with the trials,
- 8:10Speaker 3: especially with the dragons, oh gosh, oh yeah.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Fire that Yeah, that film could be great in forty X.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I think of all of My first thing I thought
- 8:20Speaker 2: of this was like, just the quidditch scenes would be
- 8:22Speaker 2: really cool even in three D. So I think that
- 8:28Speaker 2: I want to try to take advantage of seeing it
- 8:29Speaker 2: maybe in one of these other formats, because I've seen
- 8:33Speaker 2: when they've brought the films back to theaters, like the
- 8:36Speaker 2: last couple summers and stuff. I've seen the first couple,
- 8:39Speaker 2: but I'm hoping my theater, my local theater, does these
- 8:44Speaker 2: either three D or we do have a forty X
- 8:45Speaker 2: theater right by me, so we'll see.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I did too.
- 8:51Speaker 3: The only forty X film I've ever seen is Star Wars,
- 8:54Speaker 3: and that was it was a whole experience, so interested
- 8:59Speaker 3: to say what the Harry Potter one would be like,
- 9:01Speaker 3: I needed to feel like the quidditch scene in the
- 9:05Speaker 3: Castle ride at Universal Studios because that's the best part.
- 9:08Speaker 1: And yes, it has.
- 9:09Speaker 3: To feel like that or nothing.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Yes, yes, including dragon breath and everything.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Yes as long as.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I always get stuck in the seat with
- 9:21Speaker 2: the dragon breath when I go.
- 9:24Speaker 4: So it's the first thing I always think of.
- 9:27Speaker 1: It's like a little steam facial. It's fine, it's.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Great, it's great. I mean, now it doesn't bother me
- 9:34Speaker 2: because I've had it so much and I know it's coming,
- 9:36Speaker 2: so it doesn't bother me. And I think that's the
- 9:38Speaker 2: best seat to be in really. But yeah, so I
- 9:41Speaker 2: think more to come on. You know where these select
- 9:44Speaker 2: screenings will be. Check your local theaters. And last bit
- 9:50Speaker 2: of news is there's been some new aerial shots of
- 9:53Speaker 2: Epic Universe that have kind of been circulating the interwebs lately.
- 9:57Speaker 2: So these photos were taken by an aerial photogographer called
- 10:00Speaker 2: bio Reconstruct. So I think, like, everything looks so good
- 10:06Speaker 2: these shots. I think of all the shots we've gotten
- 10:09Speaker 2: of the construction, these ones are really just show a
- 10:12Speaker 2: lot of the detail. And really because now, I mean
- 10:15Speaker 2: we're only a few months away from the park's opening,
- 10:19Speaker 2: So I think these photos and not even just Wizarding World,
- 10:21Speaker 2: but looking at like all the photos for even all
- 10:24Speaker 2: the lands, I think everything's coming together really well, and
- 10:28Speaker 2: I feel like everything's going to open on time. And
- 10:32Speaker 2: a few of the things that kind of I noticed
- 10:34Speaker 2: in these shots is just it looks like the portal
- 10:38Speaker 2: archway for the Ministry of Magic Land is completed. You
- 10:42Speaker 2: have a really good view of the time turner that's
- 10:45Speaker 2: there and the gold hand holding the Wand there's also
- 10:49Speaker 2: a photo of like a phoenix arch that you pass
- 10:53Speaker 2: through to enter the land after you've kind of gone
- 10:56Speaker 2: through the portal. And then, like I mentioned before, really
- 10:59Speaker 2: the big call out here is just the details that
- 11:02Speaker 2: you can see in these photos, so like art that's
- 11:04Speaker 2: been painted on the buildings, the building like facades, some
- 11:08Speaker 2: of them look like fully completed. There's also some signs
- 11:14Speaker 2: that have been added to some of the buildings. There's
- 11:17Speaker 2: a good photo of like the tent entrance to Laser Garcianis.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I was going to say that's the photo that's interesting
- 11:23Speaker 1: to me because I know we kept saying, how are
- 11:25Speaker 1: you going to fit that many people in a tent
- 11:28Speaker 1: show outside? Right? But like obviously from this photo you
- 11:32Speaker 1: can see that the tent butts up against a building.
- 11:35Speaker 4: And so you're filtering always going.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Into the building. So that makes way more sense.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Right, And it's like any theme park like it's I
- 11:42Speaker 2: think seeing aerial photos of theme parks is so cool
- 11:45Speaker 2: because they do such a great job of hiding the
- 11:49Speaker 2: show buildings and how big they are like I don't
- 11:53Speaker 2: know if you've ever seen the show, like a photo
- 11:55Speaker 2: of the show building of like Pirates of the Caribbean Disney,
- 12:00Speaker 2: but like they're I mean, you would never know how
- 12:02Speaker 2: far back it goes. And so I just love these
- 12:05Speaker 2: aerial photos because you can also see the Ministry of
- 12:09Speaker 2: Magic and the ride in these photos as well. And
- 12:12Speaker 2: it looks like that building is all kind of complete.
- 12:15Speaker 2: It's absolutely huge.
- 12:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 1: When we're in Universal last month the Epic Universe Previews
- 12:27Speaker 1: center with the diorama thingy in the center, just that
- 12:32Speaker 1: was what struck me was just the size of like
- 12:36Speaker 1: that warehouse ride building behind the facades. I was like,
- 12:40Speaker 1: that thing is like as big as this area of
- 12:43Speaker 1: the park altogether.
- 12:45Speaker 5: Like it's huge.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Yeah, it looks really coold. Have they said like is
- 12:53Speaker 3: it gonna be able to connect to a Universal and
- 12:58Speaker 3: Islands of Adventure or is it just Universal?
- 13:02Speaker 2: It's kind of a little bit further away, I think,
- 13:05Speaker 2: I from remember, isn't it like fifteen It's like kind
- 13:07Speaker 2: of like fifteen minutes away.
- 13:10Speaker 1: They are going to have a shuttle bus loop.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, I do, because I know, like I mean,
- 13:14Speaker 3: you've got like you can take the train from diagon
- 13:17Speaker 3: Alley to the castle. So I just feel like they
- 13:19Speaker 3: could somewhere put in somehow you can get to the castle.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's a little bit further. I think
- 13:25Speaker 2: this particular park is going to have more of that
- 13:28Speaker 2: like Walt Disney World feel, where if you were park
- 13:31Speaker 2: hopping to a different park, you've got to get on
- 13:33Speaker 2: transportation and it takes a little bit to get there. Yeah,
- 13:40Speaker 2: but yeah, I think, yeah, definitely like search up these
- 13:44Speaker 2: pictures if you haven't seen them yet, because they're probably
- 13:47Speaker 2: some of the most detailed pictures I think that we've
- 13:49Speaker 2: gotten so far, and yeah, just how far along they
- 13:53Speaker 2: are in the construction. It really is kind of just
- 13:55Speaker 2: all about like the details at this point really in
- 13:59Speaker 2: getting getting those set. I mean there's even like lights
- 14:06Speaker 2: in the hair that you can see, and there's like
- 14:10Speaker 2: a butter beer cart I think that you can see
- 14:12Speaker 2: in like one of the photos. So they're really.
- 14:16Speaker 3: That's the only photo I need to see. Where's the
- 14:18Speaker 3: butter bear?
- 14:19Speaker 4: The butter bear?
- 14:24Speaker 2: But yeah, that's kind of all I had for the
- 14:25Speaker 2: news this week.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Okay, So heading into our main discussion, we wanted to
- 14:31Speaker 1: talk about some unanswered questions that we still have from
- 14:34Speaker 1: the series all these years later, which I mean, let's
- 14:38Speaker 1: be honest, that's kind of the beauty of it. We
- 14:40Speaker 1: can keep having these conversations over and over and over
- 14:44Speaker 1: again and there's still things that are kind of left
- 14:47Speaker 1: to interpretation, which is kind of cool. So I know,
- 14:53Speaker 1: I pulled a whole bunch, and I think Carmen had
- 14:57Speaker 1: a few, and Nicole, I think I saw you might
- 14:59Speaker 1: have added somewhere. So it seems we all have questions.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Well, and this is not even an exhausted list like this.
- 15:08Speaker 2: There could be a Part two conversation about this down
- 15:11Speaker 2: the line, because I definitely feel like there's more than
- 15:16Speaker 2: just the ten or so that we put in here.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Yeah, even just as like Hallie and I get through
- 15:23Speaker 3: the rest of the books, I feel like each chapter
- 15:25Speaker 3: is like, but.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Why couldn't they do this? And it's just open can
- 15:30Speaker 1: of worms? But how does this work? Magic? That's all
- 15:34Speaker 1: you need to know.
- 15:35Speaker 6: Yes, yes, is your imagination, So diving right in, the
- 15:44Speaker 6: first question we have on this list is why can't
- 15:48Speaker 6: Harry sethestials earlier?
- 15:52Speaker 1: I know this has come up quite a bit in
- 15:54Speaker 1: the fandom since the books were finished and wrapped up
- 15:59Speaker 1: I mean, we know the first death he witnesses is
- 16:02Speaker 1: his parents, but does he actually see it happen, And
- 16:09Speaker 1: does the fact that he didn't see it and he
- 16:11Speaker 1: didn't really understand what was happening because he was a
- 16:15Speaker 1: baby impact why he can or cannot see the festals.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think, like for me, I think it's
- 16:24Speaker 2: exactly that. I think he's just a baby, and you
- 16:28Speaker 2: don't as a baby, like you don't understand death. And
- 16:31Speaker 2: I feel like it's more than just you can see
- 16:34Speaker 2: the thestrials because you've seen death, I think you have
- 16:37Speaker 2: to fully understand what it means as well. And so
- 16:41Speaker 2: it's like, right, it's like one thing to see it,
- 16:42Speaker 2: it's another thing to understand what it means. And so
- 16:45Speaker 2: obviously by the time that he witnesses Cedric's death, he
- 16:49Speaker 2: both sees it and understands it at that point.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I kind of had like the same thoughts on that,
- 16:57Speaker 3: But I almost wondered, like in the first book, he's
- 17:02Speaker 3: even just remembering green light and high pitch cackle, so
- 17:06Speaker 3: it's almost like it was blocked from his subconscious maybe
- 17:09Speaker 3: a little bit, and so he only starts to remember
- 17:12Speaker 3: bits and pieces throughout the books. So yeah, I think
- 17:15Speaker 3: it's again seeing it and understanding what's going on.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Do you think part of that too is the relationship
- 17:24Speaker 1: that you have to that person, because if you think
- 17:28Speaker 1: about he didn't really even know his parents, so would
- 17:33Speaker 1: that impact him as much as a death like Cedric's
- 17:37Speaker 1: where he actually knew him. It was a classmate, it
- 17:40Speaker 1: was someone he interacted with, as opposed to someone that
- 17:45Speaker 1: I mean, yes, they're his parents, but he didn't actually
- 17:48Speaker 1: know them.
- 17:49Speaker 2: It's kind of like this abstract construct kind of thing
- 17:53Speaker 2: or like, right, I see what you're saying. So it's
- 17:56Speaker 2: almost like maybe even if this had happened a few
- 17:59Speaker 2: years down the line, where he had been able to
- 18:02Speaker 2: kind of like live with his parents and interact with
- 18:05Speaker 2: them a little bit, it's and I yeah, because it's
- 18:09Speaker 2: like you do. It's you're like deaths of people that
- 18:12Speaker 2: you're close with like always impact you more kind of
- 18:16Speaker 2: And it's like, of course they're his parents and everything,
- 18:19Speaker 2: but at the end of the day, he was just
- 18:21Speaker 2: a baby, and really, yeah, it doesn't know them. And
- 18:28Speaker 2: it's more I think because he doesn't have a pay,
- 18:30Speaker 2: he doesn't have parents more so then I lost these
- 18:33Speaker 2: people that I was very close to right, right.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I always think of like Luna too, because like she
- 18:40Speaker 3: was younger when she lost her mom, but she was
- 18:42Speaker 3: old enough to have known her mom and like recognize
- 18:47Speaker 3: the losing of her. And yeah, he is, I mean
- 18:50Speaker 3: just a baby.
- 18:51Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, so kind of in the same vein
- 19:01Speaker 1: of what went down in Godric's Hollow. Another question that
- 19:05Speaker 1: I have is what object did Valtimore intend to turn
- 19:11Speaker 1: into his final hor crux with Harry's murder? Obviously we
- 19:16Speaker 1: know Harry became that hor Crocks instead, but what was
- 19:20Speaker 1: the intention something of Gryffindor's I mean, was there anything
- 19:24Speaker 1: he could actually use other than the sword?
- 19:29Speaker 2: I mean, do we think that he actually was intending
- 19:32Speaker 2: to make a hor crux from like Harry's murder or
- 19:36Speaker 2: it was just at that point obviously he had been
- 19:39Speaker 2: making horcruxes and everything, But was it, like I don't
- 19:45Speaker 2: know if when he went into the house that night
- 19:47Speaker 2: he even had the intention, Like his intention there it
- 19:49Speaker 2: was more just to kind of fulfill the prophecy and
- 19:52Speaker 2: commit the murder. And I think that's why it ended
- 19:55Speaker 2: up being such a big deal that he made this
- 19:57Speaker 2: unintented And I think that's another kind of unanswered ques
- 20:00Speaker 2: a little bit is the magic of making a hor crux?
- 20:04Speaker 2: And like, what does your intention have to be there?
- 20:07Speaker 2: And because you it seems like there would have to
- 20:09Speaker 2: be some intention there. But then at the same time,
- 20:12Speaker 2: it seems to be like this all this whole, like
- 20:14Speaker 2: he didn't intend to make Harry a horcrox. He doesn't
- 20:17Speaker 2: know Harry's a horcrux, So is there also an unintentional
- 20:20Speaker 2: component there? But yeah, that's a whole other that's a
- 20:24Speaker 2: whole other can of worms. But I don't know if
- 20:27Speaker 2: he necessarily, like intended to make a hor crux when
- 20:30Speaker 2: he went in that night.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think he meant to make one that
- 20:37Speaker 3: not he definitely was going to make a seventh because
- 20:38Speaker 3: he had asked Slughorn about seven. But yeah, I would
- 20:43Speaker 3: agree with Amy, like I would assume something of Griffidor's
- 20:47Speaker 3: because he did something from h House.
- 20:51Speaker 1: And so I feel like this is just one of
- 20:54Speaker 1: those things where it's like this happens when you've reread
- 20:57Speaker 1: a book so many times, but now I'm not able
- 21:02Speaker 1: to remember if this is something that was actually said
- 21:04Speaker 1: in the books or something that people speculated about later.
- 21:08Speaker 1: But I feel like wasn't there something said where Dumbledore.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Was like.
- 21:15Speaker 1: He was going to use Harry's death because it was
- 21:18Speaker 1: a significant like murder instead of just like any old
- 21:23Speaker 1: Muggle that he murders. And I don't know if I'm
- 21:27Speaker 1: making that up, but.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I could see that though, Like maybe I could see
- 21:30Speaker 2: Baltimore thinking like this will be my strongest war Crocks
- 21:34Speaker 2: because this is such a meaningful death.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Yeah, but then was be honest, Yeah, like that dramatic?
- 21:45Speaker 2: So yes, that's why I like he would be like this,
- 21:49Speaker 2: this is the one that will make me forever immortal
- 21:51Speaker 2: because it's such a big deal.
- 21:54Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 21:54Speaker 2: I wonder what the Potters would have that would potentially
- 22:00Speaker 2: or or him bringing something. I guess he could bring
- 22:02Speaker 2: it the object with him.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Maybe did he know that James had like the invisibility
- 22:11Speaker 3: cloak or anything like that, because I mean James and
- 22:14Speaker 3: Lily were like the epitome of Gryffin doors too, so
- 22:17Speaker 3: maybe that was going to be his Gryffin door thing well.
- 22:21Speaker 1: And also to make one of the deathly hallows a
- 22:25Speaker 1: whore Crocks like that, there's that dramatic. He is that dramatic.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Hm hm hm, there will be no explanation. There will
- 22:38Speaker 3: just be reputations because he has that dramatic.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Like snake, just playing into that snake reference as well.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, it's the use of snake.
- 22:50Speaker 1: People like this is the time to do it. Yeah.
- 22:58Speaker 2: I just like picture Baltimore like coming in all dramatic
- 23:02Speaker 2: like dragging the sort of Gryffindor with him running a
- 23:08Speaker 2: little bit, you know.
- 23:09Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, Oh, I don't.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Know if we and I don't think we really hear
- 23:18Speaker 2: too much about any other object of significance from Gryffindor.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Obviously there's so much focus on the sword, so like
- 23:24Speaker 2: I don't even I feel like, yeah, maybe he thought
- 23:33Speaker 2: it was there. Yeah, I wonder where it was in
- 23:39Speaker 2: that moment.
- 23:42Speaker 3: I almost wondered if he would have tried to do
- 23:44Speaker 3: something like the sorting hat, But I just feel like
- 23:46Speaker 3: it would have to be something of Gryffindor's because that
- 23:48Speaker 3: would complete the circle.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Could you imagine if he had put a bit of
- 23:55Speaker 2: his soul in the sorting hat, like every kid that
- 23:59Speaker 2: gets sorted, like what they must hear in their head
- 24:02Speaker 2: from that hat?
- 24:04Speaker 3: Well, because I just thought about like they would have
- 24:06Speaker 3: really thought Harry was losing it. On his first year,
- 24:09Speaker 3: like he would have got up, their hat goes on
- 24:11Speaker 3: his head and he just crumbles into the floor from
- 24:13Speaker 3: a Migraine would like this kid, this kid, he's a weird.
- 24:23Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 24:25Speaker 3: I'm honestly surprised he didn't try to do it to
- 24:27Speaker 3: like Fox or something, just to like really stick it
- 24:31Speaker 3: to double Doore just be like, surprise my other Horecrucks
- 24:34Speaker 3: is your prize possession bird Congrats, And then we get.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Into the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes with We're just
- 24:44Speaker 1: going to tie this into like every fandom we can think.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Yes, he is the original like Easter egg Hider.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Yes, he's the true mastermind.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Yes, how many.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Taylor Swift references can we make in this episode?
- 25:05Speaker 1: As many as possible? So surprise surprise. My next question
- 25:16Speaker 1: also stems from the same night. There's just so much
- 25:18Speaker 1: mystery surrounding this night. What happened to Baltimore's first body,
- 25:25Speaker 1: Like was it just removed from the rubble of the
- 25:28Speaker 1: Potter's house? Was it burned, did it vanish? Was it
- 25:33Speaker 1: blown to smothereines by whatever magic happened? Like where'd it go?
- 25:39Speaker 2: It clearly went off like confetti like they did in
- 25:41Speaker 2: the movie Amy.
- 25:44Speaker 7: Yes, I don't know, skin flaked away. The skin flaked
- 25:51Speaker 7: away like Thanos shut up, snapped him away.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Dan Doers hear the reference.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Already four when I'm like collecting all these objects where
- 26:02Speaker 2: his heart he was like the original Thanos of trying
- 26:04Speaker 2: to collect everything. The Horror Cruxes were the original Infinity Stones. Yes,
- 26:12Speaker 2: which is funny that comic may have come out before
- 26:14Speaker 2: the book or Harry Potter books. Not that I think
- 26:16Speaker 2: about it, though.
- 26:20Speaker 3: That's what I hate about the movie so much, because
- 26:23Speaker 3: I'm like, imagine somebody walks outside and they're like, I
- 26:26Speaker 3: got a bit of sit in my mouth or on
- 26:27Speaker 3: my clothes, like pieces of Baltimore.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Like that's disgusting.
- 26:32Speaker 4: I always think of that.
- 26:33Speaker 3: I don't know why grow Yes, they're just sweeping Baltimore
- 26:38Speaker 3: up with the.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Rest of the.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Well and Baltricks too.
- 26:44Speaker 4: She also went up and confetti the true yeah.
- 26:48Speaker 3: True. Now I imagine like it had to have I
- 26:53Speaker 3: don't know, either exploded or just spanished, because I mean
- 26:58Speaker 3: somebody went back to Bear Lily and James, so somebody
- 27:02Speaker 3: would have found his body. And I just the way
- 27:05Speaker 3: that they are with memorials and stuff, I imagine there would
- 27:09Speaker 3: have at least been some sort of marking somewhere with
- 27:12Speaker 3: his body of like this is the day that the
- 27:15Speaker 3: dark law lost, that good overtook evil. I just imagine
- 27:20Speaker 3: there would be some sort of memorial if there was
- 27:23Speaker 3: a body.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Left, right well, and just the fact that there was
- 27:27Speaker 1: so much speculation of like is he dead or is
- 27:30Speaker 1: he really still out there? Like that leads me to
- 27:33Speaker 1: believe that.
- 27:34Speaker 2: A body found.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Yeah, but clearly his body did not stay intact since
- 27:42Speaker 1: he was in need of a new one several bodies.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that that was kind of my thought,
- 27:51Speaker 2: is that there wasn't a body to be found, because
- 27:54Speaker 2: I don't think there would have been so much questioning
- 27:56Speaker 2: for the years following is he really gone? Because obvious, say,
- 28:00Speaker 2: at that point, no one knew about the horre cruxies,
- 28:02Speaker 2: so there would be no reason to believe like, oh,
- 28:04Speaker 2: he's got these bits of his soul everywhere he is
- 28:06Speaker 2: still hanging around. But yeah, like is it like you're
- 28:10Speaker 2: just so evil so you just disintegrate? I don't Yeah,
- 28:16Speaker 2: I don't know. But like this also like made me
- 28:21Speaker 2: think of, like, well, what happened to his his like
- 28:23Speaker 2: second or well, it's not really his second, but the
- 28:25Speaker 2: second body, like we see after the Battle of Hogwarts,
- 28:28Speaker 2: Like what like what would they do with his body,
- 28:32Speaker 2: like chuck it off the side with the elder one
- 28:39Speaker 2: because obviously, you know, not like the movies, he doesn't
- 28:43Speaker 2: burst into confetti. He becomes mortal dead body there, which
- 28:50Speaker 2: I think is so much more significant than him exploding
- 28:53Speaker 2: into confetti like they did in the films. But I wonder,
- 28:56Speaker 2: like what they would have yeah, like what they would
- 29:00Speaker 2: have done with that body because obviously that one was found.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Yeah, well, maybe it's on the same level with like,
- 29:12Speaker 3: you know, when he's in Quarrel and his mother's Harry's
- 29:16Speaker 3: Mother's love you know, defeats Quarrel and that version of Voldemort,
- 29:22Speaker 3: Like I mean, after he made so many horcruxes, it
- 29:26Speaker 3: was just a like a tiny bit of his soul
- 29:29Speaker 3: left in.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Him at that point.
- 29:31Speaker 3: So I imagine it's along the same lines as what
- 29:33Speaker 3: happened with Quarrel.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Yeah, just an other soul, just like crumbled could be hmm.
- 29:46Speaker 3: He just had to make that seventh for Crunks. He did.
- 29:49Speaker 1: He just couldn't help himself. Had Oh I apparently must
- 30:01Speaker 1: just have a fascination with death or something, because My
- 30:05Speaker 1: next question is what was the veil in the Department
- 30:10Speaker 1: of Mysteries, because I remember after Order of the Phoenix
- 30:15Speaker 1: came out, there was all this speculation about the veil,
- 30:18Speaker 1: what it meant, was there something behind it was serious,
- 30:22Speaker 1: just like trapped back there in some sort of limbo,
- 30:25Speaker 1: like what is this thing? And we never really found out,
- 30:31Speaker 1: which I mean, it is the Department of Mysteries, we're
- 30:33Speaker 1: not really meant to, but to still piques my curiosity
- 30:37Speaker 1: to this day.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Yeah, this one was always interesting to me because I
- 30:41Speaker 2: find everything. I think we talked about this when we
- 30:43Speaker 2: had our favorite episode and like talked about chapters, like
- 30:46Speaker 2: I really love everything about like the Department of Mysteries
- 30:51Speaker 2: really and I think exactly that I think we aren't
- 30:55Speaker 2: like ever supposed to know, and like I don't even
- 30:58Speaker 2: know if there probably is even an answer, and I
- 31:00Speaker 2: think that it's always it's like a double fold question.
- 31:02Speaker 2: It's like, so what is the veil? And like what's
- 31:05Speaker 2: beyond the veil? And I because this episode we just
- 31:10Speaker 2: keep bringing in other fandoms. One of the things that
- 31:13Speaker 2: I immediately thought of kind of like thinking about this
- 31:16Speaker 2: is it really reminds me of Coco the film, because
- 31:21Speaker 2: you have like Miguel who kind of, you know, unintentionally
- 31:25Speaker 2: enters the Land of the Dead, and on the day
- 31:28Speaker 2: that he does that, you know it's because the veil
- 31:31Speaker 2: really between the Land of the Dead and the Land
- 31:34Speaker 2: of the Living is more permeable because it's the Day
- 31:36Speaker 2: of the Dead, and basically it's kind of the same
- 31:40Speaker 2: thing where he's once he kind of goes past that veil.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Obviously there's more to it and he can get back,
- 31:46Speaker 2: but there's like it's not like he can just step back.
- 31:49Speaker 2: You know, he's got to there's you know, won't spoil
- 31:51Speaker 2: the whole plot of the movie, but you know, if
- 31:54Speaker 2: he doesn't get back to the Land of the Living,
- 31:57Speaker 2: you know, before the end of the Day of the Dead,
- 31:59Speaker 2: you know, he's kind of stuck in that Land of
- 32:02Speaker 2: the Dead forever. And I would think impresumably he would
- 32:06Speaker 2: just kind of slowly die and become part of that land.
- 32:10Speaker 2: And so I feel like this might be something similar,
- 32:13Speaker 2: Like I don't necessarily feel like the act of going
- 32:16Speaker 2: through the veil kills you, and this whole thing kills
- 32:21Speaker 2: me because Serious is my favorite character, and I think
- 32:24Speaker 2: of him being trapped like on this other side or
- 32:30Speaker 2: just what is there when you cross and so I
- 32:33Speaker 2: feel like when you first kind of cross it, and
- 32:37Speaker 2: I think it obviously, I don't think it even sucks
- 32:40Speaker 2: you in. I think there has to be this act
- 32:42Speaker 2: of you know, obviously for him, like he got hit
- 32:46Speaker 2: with a vata cadavra, so like, yeah, I think it's
- 32:50Speaker 2: like right, so he was dead on arrival. But I
- 32:53Speaker 2: think if somebody was standing right next to that veil
- 32:56Speaker 2: and you kind of just went who and you pushed
- 32:59Speaker 2: him through, I don't think the act of going through
- 33:02Speaker 2: the veil necessarily kills you.
- 33:04Speaker 4: I could see it as it being this.
- 33:06Speaker 2: You go through this vewl and you're still like maybe
- 33:09Speaker 2: alive and sort of stuck, and if you can't manage
- 33:13Speaker 2: to find a way back, then eventually you will die
- 33:16Speaker 2: because you're in this realm that like the living can't exist.
- 33:21Speaker 2: And it's almost like I wonder if they like found
- 33:25Speaker 2: this like portal kind of like they were able to
- 33:28Speaker 2: find this.
- 33:30Speaker 5: Like like a rift.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Like oh yeah, like a rift in time and space
- 33:36Speaker 2: that was able to and it just happened to be
- 33:39Speaker 2: right there in the ministry of mating. I don't know,
- 33:42Speaker 2: but like and they just kind of created this vewl,
- 33:46Speaker 2: you know, to kind of harness the power of it
- 33:49Speaker 2: or like be able to find where it is. Yeah,
- 33:55Speaker 2: I don't so do we.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Think it's at all related to like wapp A with
- 34:00Speaker 3: Harry and Deathly Hallows of like he goes, you know,
- 34:04Speaker 3: he dies, he talks to Dumbledore and then comes back.
- 34:09Speaker 3: That could be the other world in that situation.
- 34:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Yeah, So Dumbledore does call it the death chamber in
- 34:23Speaker 1: that book, which kind of got me thinking. This Roman
- 34:28Speaker 1: general kind of reminds me of the execution room in
- 34:32Speaker 1: the first Fantastic Beast film and the way that it's
- 34:36Speaker 1: described with the dais in the middle and kind of
- 34:40Speaker 1: like the raised benches going up the sides. It makes
- 34:46Speaker 1: me feel like this was like an execution chamber. Maybe
- 34:50Speaker 1: they don't do that anymore at this point in the
- 34:53Speaker 1: nineteen nineties and two thousands and Wizarding Britain, but maybe
- 34:58Speaker 1: this was like a way to carry out execution as
- 35:04Speaker 1: opposed to just evatica davering people.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Just a little push.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Yep, one little push goes a long way.
- 35:14Speaker 1: You're gonna just cross into the other world there, and.
- 35:21Speaker 2: It's like an unforgivable curse. And so this kind of
- 35:24Speaker 2: gives you a way to execute without having to go
- 35:29Speaker 2: to that level of avatica davering somebody.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Right, it's not really illegal. It's also like non violent
- 35:38Speaker 1: when you think about it, right, it's creepy and weird, but.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Like or just use the unforgivable curse and then it
- 35:49Speaker 3: takes the body and you don't have to worry about
- 35:51Speaker 3: clean up.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Either way.
- 35:56Speaker 3: It works both ways with those wizards.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Always Ken.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Now, I always wondered if it had anything to do
- 36:04Speaker 3: with like souls and if it was at all connected
- 36:08Speaker 3: with what happens when a dementor eats your soul, if
- 36:11Speaker 3: maybe that's where it goes once I digest it or
- 36:15Speaker 3: whatever they do.
- 36:19Speaker 2: That's another unanswered question of that, whatever they do with it.
- 36:25Speaker 4: I didn't even think of that.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I think the thing that's interesting too about
- 36:32Speaker 2: the veil, like especially compared to like when we kind
- 36:35Speaker 2: of see Harry and that in between at King's Cross.
- 36:38Speaker 2: It's obviously like when he wakes up in King's Cross,
- 36:41Speaker 2: it's very like quiet and like sterile, and it's just
- 36:46Speaker 2: and he's just kind of there like alone, you know,
- 36:48Speaker 2: at first. But with the veil, it's like there's like
- 36:52Speaker 2: when you get close enough to it, you can like
- 36:54Speaker 2: hear these whispers of people, and so I just feel
- 37:00Speaker 2: like it's not as quiet and sterile and stuff is
- 37:06Speaker 2: like it was for Harry being in that King's Cross moment.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Which is what leads me to think this is like
- 37:14Speaker 1: not like a not necessarily like a peaceful way of
- 37:18Speaker 1: death or like a natural way of death. It's like
- 37:22Speaker 1: very much a we've decided you're going through the veil
- 37:25Speaker 1: now and then obviously forever and ever more, your soul's
- 37:30Speaker 1: not going to be at rest because that's not the
- 37:34Speaker 1: way you should have gone.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I kind of picture like a Pirates of the Caribbean thing,
- 37:41Speaker 2: like going to Davy Jones locker and they're like all
- 37:44Speaker 2: you know, they're all on the boats and like they're dead,
- 37:47Speaker 2: but they're like that kind of also like a Hades
- 37:52Speaker 2: kind of thing going to the underworld.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Yeah, serious is just for every case in that one
- 38:00Speaker 3: peanut that Jacks Barrow could never catch an eat.
- 38:05Speaker 1: He's stuck over there.
- 38:06Speaker 2: I could just see the two of them like it
- 38:08Speaker 2: would be great.
- 38:09Speaker 1: It would be great with the crabs that would go there.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Yes, we should have been keeping like a marker of
- 38:19Speaker 3: how many fandoms. We're going to bring up any a counter.
- 38:23Speaker 1: We should have. Yeah, we'll make Liz make a graphic.
- 38:26Speaker 4: With all well, and this wasn't even planned, Like.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Let's see, we've got tailor even multiple times.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Yes, man, I brought Pirates up last episode two in
- 38:45Speaker 2: our extended conversation Pirates.
- 38:48Speaker 1: We also have cocoa.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Yes, ye, Honestly, Serious gives off the same energy as Jackson.
- 39:00Speaker 2: That's why I said I think they would just get
- 39:02Speaker 2: so long.
- 39:04Speaker 3: That just makes sense. Nobody move. I've dropped my brain.
- 39:10Speaker 2: But then even like if you're like dead on arrival,
- 39:15Speaker 2: like Serious ones, you know, like it. You know. The
- 39:18Speaker 2: other question too, is like just where get like what
- 39:22Speaker 2: happened to his body?
- 39:24Speaker 8: You know?
- 39:24Speaker 2: I picture like someone who's not dead on arrival, kind
- 39:28Speaker 2: of like I have another fan of the throw in
- 39:31Speaker 2: here Stranger things. The upside down, right, my picture, like
- 39:38Speaker 2: when Vecna fell through, goes through the gets pushed through
- 39:43Speaker 2: the portal by eleven is falling through and ends up
- 39:47Speaker 2: in the upside down, Like, that's what I picture it
- 39:49Speaker 2: looking like when you go through this veil.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Honestly, that's the crossover I never thought I needed that.
- 39:55Speaker 1: The upside down is the veil. They're connected.
- 40:00Speaker 2: What is beyond the veil? The upside down?
- 40:04Speaker 1: It's all connected.
- 40:06Speaker 3: That works. Jamie kimble Bauer, Jamie kimble Bower.
- 40:09Speaker 1: He's been hopping back and forth.
- 40:11Speaker 4: Perfect, that's how he's been doing it.
- 40:13Speaker 2: He has mastered how to get back from the veil.
- 40:16Speaker 1: It's all connected. It's just that the social media header
- 40:20Speaker 1: can just be that picture with the map and the
- 40:23Speaker 1: string all connected.
- 40:25Speaker 4: It's a small world, after.
- 40:27Speaker 2: All, we're all connected.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Yes, it's Jamie.
- 40:30Speaker 3: It's been Jamie kimble Bauer's fault this entire time.
- 40:33Speaker 1: We never knew he was the real villain. It's been
- 40:36Speaker 1: Jamie all along.
- 40:38Speaker 8: Take it o man, oh.
- 40:49Speaker 2: So too way though, he comes back through the veil
- 40:54Speaker 2: right like obviously serious camp because as we've said a
- 40:57Speaker 2: million times, he was done on arrival. But you know,
- 41:01Speaker 2: is there a way to come back through the veil?
- 41:02Speaker 2: Has there been anyone who's mastered that? Is there somebody
- 41:06Speaker 2: that's been stuck beyond the veil that's been like trying
- 41:08Speaker 2: to figure out a way to come back through that veil?
- 41:13Speaker 1: The doctor clearly, Papa, Yes, Well, because I was thinking
- 41:24Speaker 1: to bring in yet another fandom here.
- 41:27Speaker 2: I was thinking of Star Wars and kind of how
- 41:31Speaker 2: you know Qui Gon spent all this time mastering how
- 41:35Speaker 2: he could still exist in the force after his death
- 41:40Speaker 2: and then passing on that knowledge. It's like something that
- 41:43Speaker 2: other people hadn't been able to figure out before. So
- 41:46Speaker 2: maybe there is somebody there who was trying to work
- 41:49Speaker 2: out how you can get back through that veil.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Maybe that's why the veil is in the Department of
- 41:53Speaker 1: Mysteries in the first place, because maybe.
- 41:56Speaker 4: They're researching it.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Yeah, is there a way for us to go to
- 42:00Speaker 2: the land of the dead and come back?
- 42:02Speaker 1: So all the whispering people are ex Ministry workers have
- 42:07Speaker 1: been working on this experiments of years. Stay away, don't
- 42:13Speaker 1: take no matter how, don't do it.
- 42:19Speaker 2: Don't accept that bonus.
- 42:23Speaker 3: You know, every day I learn a little bit more
- 42:26Speaker 3: about why I wouldn't want to work at the Ministry.
- 42:29Speaker 1: It's another on my list.
- 42:32Speaker 2: At Lea's not in the Department of Mysteries, Like you
- 42:35Speaker 2: may become a mystery yourself if.
- 42:37Speaker 1: You work there. Yes, Okay, there's so much to talk
- 42:45Speaker 1: about that is to be a whole episode. Okay, So
- 42:52Speaker 1: the next question, how did Nighini end up with Voldemort?
- 42:57Speaker 1: Which I know we were really hoping we would find
- 43:01Speaker 1: out in the Fantastic Beast series, but yeah, that ain't
- 43:06Speaker 1: gotta happen, looks like so, I mean, it's just kind
- 43:10Speaker 1: of assumed that they run into each other in Albania
- 43:13Speaker 1: while Valdemort's there and hiding. But why was she in
- 43:19Speaker 1: Albania in the first place? At what point does she
- 43:22Speaker 1: fully turn into a snake? Did Valdimort know her as
- 43:26Speaker 1: a human? It's just that there's so many questions, and we're.
- 43:32Speaker 2: So mad we're not getting the rest of these Fantastic
- 43:35Speaker 2: Beast films because we would have seen this. I really
- 43:38Speaker 2: feel like we would have figured this.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Out and there would have been at least hints.
- 43:43Speaker 2: Right, And I think that there is so many I
- 43:46Speaker 2: think the fact that we even had the introduction of
- 43:49Speaker 2: her in human form opens up so many of these
- 43:53Speaker 2: questions because she was such a good person and obviously
- 43:59Speaker 2: we know that like Baltimore and Neighini have such a
- 44:02Speaker 2: close bond, and it's like, how did that bond form,
- 44:07Speaker 2: When did it form? Did it form when she was
- 44:09Speaker 2: still human? If it did, what happened to or what
- 44:14Speaker 2: did he do or say to manipulate her to become
- 44:19Speaker 2: a follower of him or you know, I don't see
- 44:22Speaker 2: Baltimore obviously. I think we talked about this before. As
- 44:25Speaker 2: Tom Riddle. I think he's very persuasive, and she may
- 44:30Speaker 2: have been charmed by his good looks and.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Books.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Yeah, in the previous episode, so I could see that,
- 44:40Speaker 2: and I feel like he's got that like good luck charm.
- 44:44Speaker 2: But if she met him in his what state what
- 44:49Speaker 2: you know, I don't think that would have like I
- 44:51Speaker 2: don't know, or it's like, did they meet when she
- 44:55Speaker 2: was already a snake and they bonded over him speaking
- 44:58Speaker 2: parcel tongue to her and her finding somebody that could
- 45:01Speaker 2: understand her?
- 45:03Speaker 9: Maybe, Yeah, No, I was going to take the same
- 45:08Speaker 9: route with it and be like if Chamber of Secrets
- 45:10Speaker 9: version Tom Riddle showed up.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Then I can't judge her because same.
- 45:21Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 45:22Speaker 3: I wonder if you, like, I assume he promised at
- 45:26Speaker 3: some point to be like, once you help me gain
- 45:28Speaker 3: all this power, I can change you back into a human.
- 45:34Speaker 3: That's the only way that I could think that he
- 45:36Speaker 3: would like get her to come with him, unless it's
- 45:41Speaker 3: like something happened to somebody she loved and he's like,
- 45:45Speaker 3: I'll help.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Her exact revenge. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, because if
- 45:51Speaker 1: you think about her buddy was credence if eventually maybe
- 45:57Speaker 1: she blames the Dumbledore for credences and in everything and
- 46:04Speaker 1: his struggles, who is going against Stumbledore Voldemort is?
- 46:11Speaker 3: So you know, I don't know how fair I do
- 46:15Speaker 3: for everything?
- 46:17Speaker 2: Right, right?
- 46:18Speaker 5: Well?
- 46:18Speaker 2: And I think it's like that perfect It's like the
- 46:20Speaker 2: perfect storm because like what I mentioned with him being
- 46:23Speaker 2: a parcel talk, like, you know, there is that communication
- 46:30Speaker 2: piece that when she eventually you know fully turns into
- 46:33Speaker 2: a snake, she no longer has that connection with humans anymore.
- 46:38Speaker 2: And now all of a sudden, here comes this person
- 46:40Speaker 2: that can communicate with her. And right if he's I
- 46:44Speaker 2: mean clearly he seems like one the person to offer
- 46:47Speaker 2: her something in return for her being his companion or
- 46:54Speaker 2: whatever the relationship, whatever the relationship was, but necessarily not well,
- 47:01Speaker 2: I don't want to necessarily say that he would never
- 47:03Speaker 2: fulfill his promise to her, because I think they were
- 47:07Speaker 2: very I think Nighini is the only person, not person,
- 47:11Speaker 2: snake thing that he actually seems close to like a
- 47:15Speaker 2: genuine relationship, Like I feel like there is a genuine
- 47:18Speaker 2: relationship there that he has with no one else. Yeah,
- 47:23Speaker 2: what the nature of that relationship is, that's another unanswered question,
- 47:26Speaker 2: but there's something there, and so I don't want to
- 47:29Speaker 2: sell him short. I think he may have actually tried
- 47:32Speaker 2: to fulfill whatever he possibly promised to her, but obviously
- 47:39Speaker 2: it would be an exchange for her doing something for
- 47:41Speaker 2: him like well, and it was he kept her, she
- 47:44Speaker 2: kept him alive like.
- 47:48Speaker 3: Well, and maybe even just like if we're thinking promises,
- 47:52Speaker 3: maybe he was going to try to get the Resurrection
- 47:55Speaker 3: Stone and he promised to bring Credence or whoever back
- 47:58Speaker 3: for her.
- 48:00Speaker 1: There's no tone.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Gosh, yeah, I want to know more about that.
- 48:05Speaker 1: It's such a fascinating storyline and it's just such a
- 48:10Speaker 1: shame that it just got dropped. I think.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Yeah, once we decided to make her more than just
- 48:16Speaker 2: a snake, because it always made sense that he would
- 48:19Speaker 2: have some kind of snake companion, and so you don't
- 48:21Speaker 2: think much about it, but then to learn like, okay, no,
- 48:24Speaker 2: this like she wasn't always a snake. It's like, don't
- 48:28Speaker 2: introduce it if you're not going to finish it. I
- 48:30Speaker 2: know the plan was always to finish it.
- 48:31Speaker 5: But yeah, yeah, so here we go back to another
- 48:41Speaker 5: question about death.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Sorry guys, Sunny Hulflepuff over here with all the death questions. Yeah,
- 48:50Speaker 1: so is there actually any truth to the deathly Hallows
- 48:55Speaker 1: legend about the owner of all three becoming the master
- 48:58Speaker 1: of death? Kind of never really find that out. Harry
- 49:03Speaker 1: had two of them, Baltimore had the other. I like,
- 49:09Speaker 1: I don't know, is it real? Who knows?
- 49:20Speaker 2: I think yes. I think that we never get to
- 49:27Speaker 2: fully see it like played out, like like what is
- 49:30Speaker 2: what does it mean to be the master of death?
- 49:33Speaker 2: I feel like that's what we have to like define
- 49:36Speaker 2: to figure out, like is there actually truth to it?
- 49:42Speaker 2: I think that you're very powerful if you have all
- 49:46Speaker 2: three of these things, and I guess like in a
- 49:54Speaker 2: way maybe it's like you know you're you're the master
- 49:57Speaker 2: of death because you can kind of you've got them
- 50:00Speaker 2: the most powerful wand so like who's going to kill you? You
- 50:04Speaker 2: can kind of be like rise to the top.
- 50:06Speaker 1: There.
- 50:08Speaker 2: You have the resurrectors resurrection stone, so you can kind
- 50:11Speaker 2: of control death as well by bringing someone back quote
- 50:14Speaker 2: unquote bringing them back. And obviously if you have the
- 50:17Speaker 2: invisibility cloak, you can hide from people who are out
- 50:19Speaker 2: to get you. So you can kind of like cheat death.
- 50:23Speaker 2: I feel like you're cheating death.
- 50:24Speaker 5: Like yeah.
- 50:30Speaker 1: The other interesting thing that I thought of was at
- 50:36Speaker 1: the point at the end of The Deathly Hallows, Harry
- 50:40Speaker 1: has two of the Hallows and Valdimore has the Wand.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Do you think part of the issue obviously we know
- 50:46Speaker 1: about the matching cores, but do you think part of
- 50:49Speaker 1: the issue of valdemorre well the matching corps is the
- 50:56Speaker 1: original Wand. I'm like getting off track here, but the
- 51:00Speaker 1: issue of the elder Wand not being able to take
- 51:02Speaker 1: on Harry as well? Do you think it's because he
- 51:07Speaker 1: had like two of the Wands quote unquote siblings in
- 51:11Speaker 1: his possession and the Wand couldn't act against him, Like,
- 51:14Speaker 1: do you think the Deathly Hallows actually does play a
- 51:17Speaker 1: role somehow?
- 51:18Speaker 2: I think it does because he was the true master
- 51:20Speaker 2: of that Wand in that moment, you know what I mean, Like,
- 51:26Speaker 2: so the Wand would have never gone against its own.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Master, right, yeah, so technically.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Death and he survived. So like, yeah, I think it.
- 51:40Speaker 2: I think there is something about it, but I think
- 51:41Speaker 2: that's exactly it. I think that it's it's like not
- 51:46Speaker 2: only was he the owner, but he also was in
- 51:50Speaker 2: possession of yeah, the other two Hallows, the siblings, and
- 51:57Speaker 2: I just think there was not a way. I think
- 52:01Speaker 2: it's pivotal to the plot that Baltimore has that wand
- 52:06Speaker 2: and it's not really his, even though he thinks it is,
- 52:08Speaker 2: because if he had any other wand, could he maybe
- 52:14Speaker 2: have actually killed Harry, Like is what protected Harry in
- 52:19Speaker 2: the end, the fact that he was the true owner
- 52:21Speaker 2: of that wand the most loyal wand.
- 52:26Speaker 3: So he was actually the master of death. And we've
- 52:29Speaker 3: proved in the theory.
- 52:32Speaker 2: Yeah, well in that vein is he still is.
- 52:37Speaker 4: He's still the master of death.
- 52:39Speaker 3: Technically, I mean at the bottom of land, at the
- 52:44Speaker 3: bottom of a ravine, but.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Well it's still there. The resurrection stone is in the woods.
- 52:51Speaker 1: But I mean he did technically unite all three and
- 52:55Speaker 1: if that's all you need to do, then maybe it
- 52:58Speaker 1: doesn't matter that there's separated afterwards.
- 53:03Speaker 2: I mean, the until I think, until someone else comes
- 53:07Speaker 2: into possession of the item, they are they are his,
- 53:12Speaker 2: like if nobody But I don't know, right, do you
- 53:16Speaker 2: have to have them all on your person? But he didn't.
- 53:19Speaker 2: He didn't have like, he didn't have the invisibility Cloak
- 53:22Speaker 2: with him in that moment when he was standing against Baltimore.
- 53:25Speaker 2: But I still think it's because, like we talked about
- 53:28Speaker 2: in our Wandler episode, like the Wanes having that little
- 53:31Speaker 2: bit of sentience, the wand knew that Harry was his
- 53:35Speaker 2: true owner. He would never he like, now I'm giving
- 53:38Speaker 2: it a jonder, the wand would never like go against
- 53:44Speaker 2: the sentience is enough, you know that it wouldn't go
- 53:47Speaker 2: against it's true, it's true owner in that moment. And
- 53:53Speaker 2: that's that was Baldemore's entire fault in his entire plan
- 53:59Speaker 2: was not.
- 54:01Speaker 1: The whole.
- 54:02Speaker 2: The whole thing was like the perfect setup of how
- 54:05Speaker 2: it ended up being like Harry, you know. And that's
- 54:08Speaker 2: just where Baltimore is, like he's so dramatic and essentially
- 54:13Speaker 2: as a flair for the drama that there's not even
- 54:16Speaker 2: a consideration of there could have been a flaw in
- 54:19Speaker 2: the plan.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 54:24Speaker 2: And then Snape had to die for nothing. Really in
- 54:27Speaker 2: all of this, it wasn't for nothing. The whole obviously
- 54:32Speaker 2: he had to die, the tear had to have, the
- 54:34Speaker 2: whole memories had to happen.
- 54:36Speaker 8: Or.
- 54:37Speaker 3: Dumbledore could have just told him in the first place,
- 54:39Speaker 3: and we and then Snape's death is pointless.
- 54:44Speaker 1: I can't.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's like double dore too, like being the
- 54:49Speaker 2: one who actually kind of knows everything that's going on,
- 54:52Speaker 2: and like.
- 54:57Speaker 3: I guess I kind of like two, I guess dive
- 55:01Speaker 3: more into that question.
- 55:03Speaker 1: So in the.
- 55:04Speaker 3: First book, when he opens the Present and has the
- 55:08Speaker 3: invisibility cloak, Ron says, that's an invisibility cloak. They're very rare,
- 55:14Speaker 3: so is there more than one? So then like.
- 55:18Speaker 1: Is there a Master of Death?
- 55:19Speaker 3: Because if there's more than one invisibility cloak, it seems
- 55:22Speaker 3: like anybody could just have an invisibility cloak.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Well, isn't the difference that there's only one that's actually
- 55:29Speaker 1: like the true invisibility cloak made by death, and that's
- 55:33Speaker 1: one that Harry owns.
- 55:35Speaker 4: It's the original.
- 55:36Speaker 1: But then you can tavisibility cloak, the debut cloak.
- 55:42Speaker 3: It's the debut cloak.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Ye, it's not Taylor's original, explaining Harry Potter to Taylor
- 55:53Speaker 1: Swift fans. It is. But yeah, but like I think
- 55:58Speaker 1: other cloks are usually made it out of demiguiser or
- 56:02Speaker 1: like have a disillusionment charm on them, so like they
- 56:06Speaker 1: don't last as long. I can't remember what book it is,
- 56:11Speaker 1: but at some point Harry kind of has that realization.
- 56:13Speaker 1: I think it's in Deathly Hallows where he's like, yeah,
- 56:17Speaker 1: I cloak like hasn't lost its ability like clearly og
- 56:22Speaker 1: like here, yeah, yeah, interesting.
- 56:30Speaker 2: Speaking of the invisibility cloak. That's another like unanswered question too,
- 56:34Speaker 2: is like what would have happened if because wasn't it
- 56:38Speaker 2: like James correct me if I'm wrong, Like James gave
- 56:44Speaker 2: Dumbledore the cloak because Dumbledore like wanted to like study
- 56:48Speaker 2: it or like whatever. But like if that hadn't happened,
- 56:52Speaker 2: and if James and Lily like still had that cloak
- 56:55Speaker 2: in their possession, they could have like actually like hid
- 56:59Speaker 2: from Volden more. Again, it's like things that had to
- 57:03Speaker 2: happen in a plot to make the whole.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Story brain James and Lily Snape basically is like the
- 57:16Speaker 1: anti HEROO.
- 57:17Speaker 2: Yes, oh, but I love him so much, but yeah,
- 57:25Speaker 2: like I just it's like, yeah, I was thinking, like
- 57:28Speaker 2: if they if Dumbledore didn't have the like yeah, mm hmmm,
- 57:35Speaker 2: the Potters literally had something that could have helped them.
- 57:40Speaker 1: That's so depressing. That's so sad.
- 57:44Speaker 3: That's like equal to the theory of like when people
- 57:47Speaker 3: were saying, like what if the books had ended with
- 57:50Speaker 3: and then Harry woke up and his cupboard under the stairs, like, no,
- 57:53Speaker 3: let's not even bring that up. I don't want to
- 57:56Speaker 3: think about that being a possibility.
- 58:00Speaker 2: Well it wasn't and Dumbledore made sure of that.
- 58:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:04Speaker 2: Well, and then why didn't when they knew that, like
- 58:06Speaker 2: Baltimore was after them? Why didn't they give it back
- 58:10Speaker 2: to like I don't know, like, why didn't when I
- 58:12Speaker 2: get that back, like I get having this whole like
- 58:16Speaker 2: secret Keeper, which we all know how that turned out, and.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Never trust your friends, folks.
- 58:24Speaker 4: Just use an invisibility club, win.
- 58:28Speaker 1: A doubt, go invisible.
- 58:31Speaker 3: Yeah, there's so many things about that night that they're
- 58:35Speaker 3: like what if moments, If this would have happened, then
- 58:39Speaker 3: this wouldn't have happened. If this would have happened, then
- 58:41Speaker 3: this wouldn't have happened. Mm hmm. So annoying.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Yeah, well okay, So next question, who put the vanishing
- 58:56Speaker 1: cabinet in Hogwarts? Why was it there was the pair
- 59:01Speaker 1: always on the outside? And how did no one know
- 59:04Speaker 1: what a security breach?
- 59:05Speaker 5: This was?
- 59:09Speaker 1: Hogwart security.
- 59:11Speaker 3: It's the top not hogwart security.
- 59:13Speaker 1: At it again? Like making decisions. Yeah, I will for.
- 59:19Speaker 3: Ever blame Double Door for everything. Guys that I will
- 59:22Speaker 3: die on that hill.
- 59:23Speaker 2: He was just he just loved chaos and mayhem, and
- 59:27Speaker 2: so I think he secretly loved when all these crazy
- 59:30Speaker 2: things happened. It was an excitement for him. Like She's like,
- 59:35Speaker 2: I'm just gonna put a little bit of hole, Like
- 59:37Speaker 2: we're going to protect this castle like nothing else is protected,
- 59:42Speaker 2: but we're going to have a few little cracks so
- 59:46Speaker 2: that we can have a fun time every once in
- 59:48Speaker 2: a while.
- 59:50Speaker 1: And you know, so find this way in and out.
- 59:54Speaker 1: They deserved to find it because they put in the work.
- 59:57Speaker 2: Well, it's like he says, like, you know, don't oh here, Harry.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: Literally you said, well, here's this invisibility thought to go there. Yeah,
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: I just love like in the first movie when he says,
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: like stay away from the third corridor. It's out of
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: bounds to whoever does not wish to die of painful death.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: The look on Daniel Radcliffe's face is the epitome of
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: me reading the whole series of like where am I?
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: Like every other students just like okay, and Harry is
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: like where did I end up? It's like for children
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: a wizard. Yeah, I thought this want to go home
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: school for children?
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Where am I?
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just yeah, it's so interesting. I don't know
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: who knows.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: I really think it's just it had to be there
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: for the plot.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Yeah, so I think it's one of those like it's like,
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: did a student just show up one day after break
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: and bring in this vanishing cabinets? Like look at this
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: cool thing I got for Christmas? Or did like a
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: staff member have it and be like, oh, this is
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: so cool. Don't know where the other one is, but
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: you know, like.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: Well, and to give him some credit, he also didn't
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: know there was a large bass lisk chilling out under
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: the school.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: So true, very true. And maybe he didn't know. And
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: again it was just like, oh, that'll be fun when
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: that comes out. Chaos, Secret, Chaos Gremlin. Oh yeah.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: It's kind of like all those random objects that are
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: in Hogwarts, Like how the heck did they get there?
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: Obviously someone had to bring them in. What was the
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: purpose when they were brought in?
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: Right? Well, in the finishing cabinet? Correct me if I'm wrong,
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: But wasn't it somewhere in a corridor to begin with?
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: And Fred and George shoved. Was it Zabini? It was somebody?
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: It was one of the Slytherins into the cabinet, and
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: that's where malco I got the idea because he was
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: hearing stories about when he was trapped in the other cabinet,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: and then it got moved to the Room of Requirement.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: But like, why was it just hanging out in a
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: corridor like I.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: Just maybe they think it didn't.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Work, Well, yeah it didn't.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: It was just it was it was just decoration.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: But why would you not think somebody would figure out
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: how to make it work?
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: Right, entered Draco.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: I can't.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Oh, all right, well, I think I've caused enough chaos
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: with my death questions, so we'll let Carmen go. Karmen's
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: got a question, speaking.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: Of the Room of Requirement, was the room with the
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: mirror of arisaid in Sorcerer's Stone when Harry finds it?
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: Is that the Room of Requirement that they're in. Harry
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: found it when he needed it. When Dumbledore mentions moving
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: it to a new home, does he move it to
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: that unending storage version of the Room or Requirement? I
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: don't know, because I feel like when you're reading that
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: chapter like he's trying to get away, he's trying to
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: find somewhere to hide from Filch and he finds this room.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: I think the only thing that makes me think it's
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: not the Room of Requirement is because he continuously goes
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: back to it and can find it with Ron. Yeah,
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: but I don't know, well, because then Dumbledore like shows
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: up out of nowhere. So does he show up through
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: a door that opens up in the.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Wall and Dumbledore knows about the rumor of requirement? Yes, hmmm, yeah.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: I think the one the one thing that's tricky is right.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: I don't know if in that moment Harry would know
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: to be able to go back to it again and again.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: Yeah, right, because he does tell him like it's getting
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: moved to new home, I urge you to not go
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: looking for it. So that's what at least makes me
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: think that they moved it to the storage room of
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: Requirement because if he can go looking for it, it's
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: somewhere in the castle mm hm.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: Or did they just move it directly to whatever the
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: chamber is and like where Fluffy is guarding like past
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: all the trials. Yeah, oh yeah, I don't knows that completely. Yeah,
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: which is also a weird thing, like what are all
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: those rooms? Like I want to see the blueprints when
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: they're not used for guarding, right, what is that room? Yes?
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: Or does that chess that just live down there now
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: and anyone can go down there and play chess.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. Yeah, it's interesting to
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: think about though, yeah, because part of me is like,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: I don't think it's the Room of Requirement because, like
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: he said, Nicole, like being able to go back to it.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: I don't know that Harry would have understood the magic
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: of the room right then to do that. But then
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: also it's interesting that no one else seems to just
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: stumble into this empty classroom and find this mirror.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: Yeah, because that's the only thing that's in there. Well,
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: and when Dumbledore shows up, you know, he says like
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: he's telling Harry what Ron saw in the mirror, and
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: Harry asks how he knew that, and he says that
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: there's more. I have more than one way of being
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: invisible or something. So I'm just like, okay, did he
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: come through a secret passage? Like what do you mean?
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: What do you mean he's.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: Just causing chaos again?
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Hmm hmm, good question.
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: Either.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, why would you even just hide it
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: in any old room that anybody could just stumble upon
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: if it's such a big deal, which obviously Dumbledore makes
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: like makes it seem like this is a big deal.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: Yeah, well, because I mean, I don't think he intended
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: for Harry to find it, because it's such a random
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: place that I just don't feel like that was the
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: intention at all. Or is that Dumbledore's secret little spot
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: he goes to.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: Which gazed into the eyes of his lover, which fells my.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: Next question of what does he see in the mirror?
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Which in Fantastic Bats he sees Grindlewald, But is that
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: what he continues to see long end of the Harry
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: Potter books.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I don't know. I was always of the theory that
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: he saw his family alive, rather like Harry does. And
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: that's why, you know, after he kind of explains his
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: whole story and the tragedy, he kind of says something
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: along the lines of, now you understand why I couldn't
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: answer that question of what I see in the mirror
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: of Ara said, Yeah, that's so like I feel like
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: your deepest desire can change over time. Maybe at the
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: point that we see this in the Fantastic Beast movies.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: That's still kind of of his biggest regrets, but as
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: he ages, he matures and understanding. No, the bigger regret
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: is I lost my family, sister and my family. Oh Dumbledore.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: I wonder what Harry would see if he looked at
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: it after deathly Holl's I assume you'd still say his parents,
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: but I wonder what would change.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: I feel like people would be added.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Like I feel like people, like people got lost. Well, yeah,
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: to bring in another fandom here, I'm picturing like you
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: know when Rose dies, well, I think she dies at
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: the end of Titanic, and you've got this room of
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: all the people that died, and you know there's Jack, Like,
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: I feel like people. Because the thing is like, over
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: the course of the series, Harry obviously gained so much family,
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: right like he gains family in the Weasley's Like, I
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: think he would see Lupin like I think he would
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: see Serious, Like he would see these people that he
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: wouldn't have saw before because they weren't in his life before.
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: But now they've become family. They might even replace some
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: of the like true family that he sees like because
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: obviously in the movies he just sees his parents, but
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: in the book he sees like his extended family. I
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: think that that would maybe change because of his like
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: found family. Yeah, and he would see those people.
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: Yeah, headwig on his shoulder, there's your death.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: I found a way.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: Okay, Well, shifting gears a little but like still staying
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: al little bit in the like dark realm, because apparently
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: a lot of our unanswered questions are in that dark realm.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: Is so I'm wondering, like, why don't they use Verita
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: serum more frequently? So, like it it makes sense to
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: me why this is such a strictly controlled potion by
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: the Ministry of Magic, because obviously there's the moral kind
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: of implications of using Verda serum on somebody, and you
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: can like literally bypass somebody's individual rights of a person
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: if you're forcing it on somebody. But I feel like
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: there's a lot of situations, and again I think a
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: lot of it just comes back to plot, Like you
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: need certain things to happen for the plot of the story.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: But then this is where you get plot holes, and
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: you get people like us that dig and find all
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: those plot holes. Like, there's a lot of situations that
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: come up where it could have been really helpful to
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: use Verita serum. So, for example, and Askham, when you've
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: got convicted prisoners such as my guy, Sirius Black right,
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: if he had just taken very to serum in that moment,
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: we would have learned that he was not who they
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: thought he was. Of course, that could have never happened
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: because we needed him to be the prisoner of Azkaban.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: But and I also thought of Hagrid, who was accused
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: twice of being involved with the Chamber of Secrets. Just
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: give him some Verita serum. You would have learned way
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: back when he was a lit wee child that he
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: had nothing to.
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: Do with it. But nope, we just expel him.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: And you know, like you wanted to know who opened
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: the chamber and you've got somebody, wouldn't you want to
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: make sure that you've got the right person. And they
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: literally have a potion at their disposal that could help
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: them know that they have the right person, and.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: They don't detector and they and they don't use it well.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: And you would think that after like Dumbledore learns that
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: the the defense against dark Art's position is cursed, that hey,
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: maybe learn a few lessons and start to do some
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: background checks and when they come in for their interview,
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: slip a little Verita serum in there would have saved
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: us a lot of trouble. But you know, that's just me,
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: And like.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: I was thinking that obviously, like you know, there are
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: some wizards that are very powerful that would possibly be
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: able to you know, fight off the effects of it.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: But I still think that, like, there are so many
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: situations where this would have been really useful. But again,
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: like I said, if they had decided to use Verita
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: serum in these moments, we would have completely erased certain
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: plots that obviously were important to the overall story.
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: Yeah, but yeah, And also, like I feel like my
- 1:13:06Speaker 5: other question I was kind of thinking about is like
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: the Unforgivable curses, And I think there's a lot we
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: don't know about them, right, Like we know what they are.
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: They're obviously very they all have just you just obviously
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: shouldn't use them because of what they do. But they
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: also work differently than other spells, Like you can't block
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: them in the same way as you can other spells.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: And like, I guess, why do we think that these
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: spells like work differently? Is that like maybe why they
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: became also kind of unforgivable curses because they can't be
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: blocked in the same way and somebody can't defend themselves
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: in a way they could against other curses. Hm. You know,
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: you could inadvertently block yourself, I think from something like
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: a vata cadavra. But I mean if you try to
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: use like stupefy against America deva like, it's not going
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: to help you.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: Could they have blocked it with the elder wand would
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: it work against Sam forgivables.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: Or maybe.
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: Well?
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: And I think like with Harry's case, you know, because
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: him and his trustee Expelliarmus that works for everything for him,
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: I think that obviously he's like a he's a he's
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: an outlier in this situation because yes, there was the
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: whole thing of like Baltimore having the elder one like
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: we were talking about, and it's not going to harm
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: its its master and so you know, avatica devra is
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: not going to work there. But we know that there
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: is even more to it at that point, although I
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: mean at that point the poor crux is out of him,
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: so it's not even that's why it works too, So
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: maybe it does have that power. Maybe I don't think
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: we ever get to see it. Like, could you block
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: the Imperious curse if you had the Elder One?
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: Yeah, with the cloak of invisibility showed you against it?
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: Probably not, but it's a question, hmm.
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: Could you use the Cruciadis curse on somebody that was
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: hidden under the invisibility cloak or is there some kind
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: of protection there?
- 1:15:36Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: Do you think it's just like the nature of how
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: hard you have to intend to cause the harm that
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: just makes it useless to block anything, because a block
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: wouldn't work if somebody fully intends to hurt you that much,
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: like there's nothing you can really do to stop it.
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: I think it's just interesting that even like the most
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: powerful of wizards could be affected by these curses.
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: Well, because even to that degree Double Doore had the
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: Elder One, still got killed on top of the Astronomy Tower.
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: But was he even gonna try to.
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: He had to, he had to die in that moment,
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: you know, to get the Elder One out of his possession.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: But I think even if yeah, I don't know, I
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: don't know, like, yeah, is he is he powerful enough to.
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: I'll never know. He took the answers with him.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Darn it.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: If he could have just counter to one quick spell
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: before taking the leap, that would have been nice.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: But I will.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: I just think there's a lot not known about these spells,
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: like who created them, how did they get created? Just
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: the mechanisms behind these spells, the logistics behind these spells.
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: Well, because even I mean, it's not an unforgivable curse,
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: but like the spell that Snape creates is made out
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: of malicious intent, So yeah, what sparked these spells getting made?
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: It's crazy, right, what needs to go into?
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: Well, that's another question is how are spells even created.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: It's like you find a way to harness a certain
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: type of magic through the worst word. But like, however
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: those however spells are created, then like what really has
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: to go into like creating a evil dark spell?
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: Yeah? How dark does your own soul become?
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: If you make one yourself?
- 1:18:07Speaker 5: M hm.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: Oh Cyrus.
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: Broken heart, Cevrus.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: Well, that's I don't even think with him, it's not
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: even necessarily even a thing of like being dark. It's
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: like tormented, right, It's like he it's like his was
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: born out of like a tormented soul.
- 1:18:29Speaker 5: Yeah, poor Sepphorism.
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: No. The only question I had came from reading the
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: chapters for Mount and Hella's next episode.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: So the Centaurs no a lot.
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: So do we think that they knew every single thing
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: that was going to happen in these books and just
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: chows to tell no one? Yep, Because like in the
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: chapters we find mine.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: He says, like.
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: Bain says, hold on, maybe that wasn't vain. Somebody says,
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: Centaurs are concerned with what has been foretold. It's not
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: our business to run around like donkeys after stray humans
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: in our forest. We are sworn not to ourselves against
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: the heavens. Have we not read what is to come
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: in the movements of the planets? I think they know.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: I think I think that they know that Harry has
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: to die, and that he has to die of Baldemort's hand. Yeah,
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: I don't think they know when or how. But I
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: think that's a lot of why they were so upset
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: that Frenzy got involved, because he stopped that from happening
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: in the forest, and they were like, oh, well, you
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: just messed with it. But really, there were all these
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: other instances down the line of where it could happen again.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: So I think they know what ultimately has to happen.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: I don't know if they know like the exact circumstances.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: It's like they're kind of they're aware of the prophecy,
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: and maybe they became aware of the prophecy of their
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: own doing with the way that you know, like I
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: don't think that it's necessarily they're just listening to like
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: what seers are saying. I think that they I think
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: because those prophecies are like real whatever. It's like they
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: have their own way to tap into what the seers
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: are prophesizing. That sounded weird, but like in a different way,
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: And so yeah, I agree, I think they knew the
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: ultimate prophecy, but didn't necessarily know how it would play
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: out or when or everything that would happen in between, right.
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: Well, because Hackard even says like they play dumb, but
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: they actually know a lot more than we know. And
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: I'm just like, I just love the idea that sitting
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: like mere yards away as somebody with all the answers
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: and just nothing, and.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: They're like, we're not going to meddle with those humans.
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: So they just because I think I could really see them,
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: you know, being of that nature of like things are
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: going to happen, Like things that have to happen are
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: going to happen. These things are fixed events that are
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: going to happen, and they have the burden in a
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: way of maybe knowing about some of these things, and
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: they kind of just have to let it. They just
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: have to let it play out because they know it's
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: fixed events. And right I think that in that moment,
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: it's right right there, they're like, you just interfered with this,
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: Like we knew that that was Voldemort, and we know
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: that this is Harry, and we know that they have
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: to die by each other's hand, and you just interfered,
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: but like not necessarily knowing exactly, Like you said that
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: there's going to be all these other opportunities that are
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: going to come in the future where it could happen.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: I think in that moment, there is, yeah, just this
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: panic of like we know this is supposed to happen,
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: and here it was playing out and we intervened, when
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: we don't do that, and now is just disrupted time.
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: Yeah, just imagine the difference of like if it had
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: all went down right then and there with Harry, It's like.
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: Well, Okay, be like those the memes like where it's
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: just like that directed by Chris Coleames.
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: Yes, that exactly, or like Doubledore comes sauntering down the hill. Well, okay,
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: the cat's out of the bag. Let me just tell
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: you everything that I know. No longer have to keep
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: this secret from you, right we only.
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: Had one book?
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: Yeah, credits roll. I love those memes because I like
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: the ones too where it's like the ones where they
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: like photoshopped in Harry having a gun or something and
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: then just Christopher Columbus something facts, that's it.
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: I think my favorite one is like when like Hermione
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: like fixes his glasses, but she just goes a Vatican out.
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: I'm done.
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: Yes, we're done. Baltimore won.
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: So funny, no, because it really could be that simple
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: as far as like if Hermione would have literally just said, Okay,
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: y'all go down and try to find this Sorcerer's stone.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: I'm not going that's it. They're cooked.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: You're not pulling me into your bs.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: They would have drank the poison. It would have never
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: made it through the logic pads. Well done.
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: Well that's at the end of the day. I feel
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: like she is the true hero here because so many
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: things would have gone differently if she had not been
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: involved in the story.
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: Hermione's the hero and Dumbledore is the villain. There am sister.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: But that's the thing is, he's not even just the villa.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: He's the anti hero.
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: It's different. It's different.
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: I think being the anti hero is not the same
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: as being the villain. I don't think Dumbledore is a
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: villain at all, but I could.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: See the villain in life. So in my.
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: Story, n yes, he is my Scooter Braun.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: I didn't like him.
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: Dumbledore has your red scarf after all these.
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that was the og red scarf.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: No what Taylor was watching while she wrote that, we.
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: Know I believe it, Like, I don't think it's that
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: far fetched.
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: Honestly, there's some songs that I'm like, Okay, this is
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: You're on your own kid, feels like it's I mean,
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: that's Harry freaking Potter, like hello.
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: There are so many good like fan edits, especially on TikTok,
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: especially with like torture poets songs where people put especially
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: the prophecy like that one comes out a lot. But
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: there is a lot that people have made really really
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: great fan edits to the songs and you're like, oh
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: my god, this this song basically is the plot of
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: this this film.
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: Well, one of my favorite ones is not even Harry Potter,
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: but like The Gray War being about the Hunger Games,
- 1:25:46Speaker 3: it's so spot on that it's just like, there's no
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: way that she didn't write this about cat and As
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: and Peta.
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: So funny.
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: I definitely have some of those same to my TikTok.
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: I'll have to go back and revisit them because they
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: were like really big right when Churchurd Poelitz like first
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: came out and people are like, oh my god, this
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: song reminds me of this, and I saved a bunch
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: of them. I'll have to go back and revisit some
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: of those, but.
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: It'll be better than me.
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: There's traps, yes, those are Those are gone now the
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: Halloween season is over until next year.
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: I won't judge because they're in my saves, so I'm
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: there with you.
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: I was the one that converted Amy back a few episodes.
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: Was I converted or was I horrified? Nicole? I don't know.
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I don't know if you were, I don't know.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: There's a timeline, don't.
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: I don't know you were. You were a little horrified, but.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: I was a little confused.
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: You will go in person? Well, no, because you will
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: never go to Halloween horrnites. I hate that they only
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: come out of Halloween horns.
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: I know the problem me too, because I hate to
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: be scared, but I want to see the death theaters.
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: But in your reality, if we wit, Amy's fighting the
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: death Theaters and Manicole are just like, hey, yeah, come
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: over here.
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: Because I'm a Slytherin. I mean I know you're not,
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: but like that's fine.
- 1:27:05Speaker 10: No, those edits are good, though it's a quality edit,
- 1:27:09Speaker 10: the parent quality edits.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: Amy, bet you never thought we'd put the thirst traps
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: back in an episode.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: Here it is, it lives on. Oh boy.
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: I actually saw one about Harry the other day and
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: I was like, okay, I never thought Harry was this attractive.
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: But this edit's pretty good. Started a good job. Never
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: would have saw Daniel Radcliffe on that light, but here
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: we are.
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: All it takes is a good fan at it.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: Oh boys.
- 1:27:47Speaker 11: Anyway, I definitely think we should table this idea to
- 1:27:54Speaker 11: do a part two at some point, because I've already
- 1:27:56Speaker 11: thought of more questions, like yeah.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: For the sake of the length of the episode. We'll
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: table this for a part two us at some point.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: Okay, sounds like a plan. There's so many there is,
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: all right, So that wraps up our main discussion. I'm
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: gonna revellio, all right, So we are going to do
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: a hominam revellio and I will explain how this works
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: for Carmen's sake here and Nicole, I don't think you
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: were on the episode that I think Tom Stephanie I did.
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: It was the episode I was on my cruise, yes.
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: Yes, all right. So how this segment is going to
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: work is I've got three clues about a character in
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: the Harry Potter series, and you all get to guess.
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: I feel like this one might be a little too obvious,
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: but I don't know. I tried to make it hard,
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: but there wasn't much I could do. Okay, So here's
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: the clues. This character did not attend Hogwarts but lives there.
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: Carries the Goblet of Fire into the Great Hall during
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: the welcome Feast where Bobaton's and dirm String and helped
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: with evacuating underage students from the castle. Prior to the
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: Battle of Hogwarts Dun dun dun dun dun dun dum.
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: It's been so long since I read the books, to
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: be honest, Like, I think I have an answer and
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: then I'm like, I feel like I must say it,
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: and it's gonna be like that's not even close.
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: Wow, when you have ideas, shout him out, let's hear him, Okay,
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: to just give my answer, sure, go for it, all right,
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: Ugust Filch And you're.
- 1:30:06Speaker 10: Correct, yes on the first joy well, because then I
- 1:30:13Speaker 10: was like, what if it's like Professor Binns or somebody
- 1:30:15Speaker 10: I'm not even like thinking of, or so many characters.
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that helped with evacuating the underage student.
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the part that yeah, which I totally forgot
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: about that part, honestly, but yeah, he did that.
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: Apparently I did not remember the carrying the gobblet of fight.
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: That's the book, yes, the books.
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the part that I was like, I don't
- 1:30:39Speaker 3: know if that's Ugust Filter or not. That's the part
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: that was starting there, because you know, in the movie,
- 1:30:47Speaker 3: it's just starting up there, so we don't nobody carried it.
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: It just appeared it showed up there.
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: Fun, it's a nice, okay, And for our second segment
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: this week, we're obviously gonna touch on Sonoris. So last
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: episode we asked our listeners what mode of magical transportation
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: they would prefer, and here are some of the responses
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: that we got. So Jerry said, I think I will
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: try the wonderful combination of port key flu and paper
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: charm used by Lally Hicks in the Third Fantastic Beast film.
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: Apparently this can overcome the limits that less skilled witches
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: and wizards have when they want to operate across the ocean.
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: She and Jacob can travel in apparent comfort and safety
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: from New York to a train somewhere in Europe on
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: the way to Berlin, coming out of a fireplace as
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: if flu powder had been used. They also used something
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: similar to leave that candidate's banquet later in the movie.
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: That is how I want to travel, and if I
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: could meet Lally and perhaps even Jacob at the same time,
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: it would be about us.
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: I agree, I agree, Jarry.
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: Perhaps she can even combine some time travel magic in
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: her spell to explain away the fact that when she
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: first meets Jacob she says quote less than a year
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: ago or something like it, and they end up on
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: nineteen thirties Germany. Since Epic Universe is planning to let
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: people use the Metro Flu network to travel from nineteen
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: twenties Paris to nineteen nineties London, perhaps there is some
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: special time travel magic that we don't know about yet.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: I like it.
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: I like it.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: Forever. I'm always bitter about that simple, simple little mistake
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: in the timeline, Like, come on, guys, all I had
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: to do was get that line correct and everything would
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: have been okay.
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: I stayed confused on the Fantastic Beast timeline.
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: It jumped around so much.
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: I was just like, I give up, I'm just here.
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: I think they were confused as well.
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: Thirty something Lallie's saying that it was in the twenties.
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: Still I just I don't.
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: Know, so there, I was just yeah, yeah, yeah, I.
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: Was just there for Newt for my final like Hufflepuff representation.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: That's all I'm there for.
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: And Felicia said apparition hands down, which, of course I know.
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: I said apparition as well, so completely agree with you, Felicia.
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: Felicia says it's instant, it's free, and once you're proficient.
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: I don't think it's very dangerous. I don't know, I
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: don't I think it still could be, Felicia. I think
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: it still could be. Felicia says, between the license and
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: having to reach the age of majority to get one,
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: which is seventeen in the Wizarding World versus eighteen in
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: the UK, and the classes and practice provided in school,
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: I see strong parallels to driving. There are over thirty
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: thousand car accidents a day in the US alone, and
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: yet we all drive without a second thought.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: It's a fair point, fair point, Felicia being logical.
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: Reason, I wasn't prepared for the facts.
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: But I think, like with the dangerous thing, and actually
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: kind of to compare it to driving as well, I
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: think that overall, like once you become very proficient, basic
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: apparition is you don't think twice about it. Like we
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: don't think twice about getting in our car and driving,
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: but think about when we have to drive in like
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: perilous conditions.
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: I was just gonna say, like, yeah, City, when I
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: make you drive Nicole, because I'm like, oh hell no, Jersey,
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: and I'll yell and scream and say there's a truck
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: coming towards us, but you're at the wheel.
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: I'm the one at the wheel, like we're traffic conditions, weather.
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: I think about the lake effects no that I drove
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: through today. I think, you know, And so I think
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: that even the most proficient of drivers could sometimes have
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: a challenge with driving.
- 1:35:02Speaker 4: And I think it's the same with apparition.
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: And I think it's situations like think of when our
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: trio had to like very quickly escape and you're in
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: the moment and obviously we know that they have a
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: hitchhiker with them on that apparition, And so I think
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: like in moments of peril and things like that, that's
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: where it then could become dangerous because you're not in
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: your typical element. You have other factors coming into play,
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: including your emotions, and that's where it could become dangerous.
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: Even if you're proficient, but just.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: Popping down to the grocery store, you should be fine.
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: You're fine, don't you text and drive? Same as you
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: shouldn't flee and upright.
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: Yes, rules to live by.
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: Yes, And Carolyn said a flying carpet brought in the
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: Aladdin magic. There's another fandom for our tally, so Carolyn said,
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: though person Weasley may feel differently, Carolyn said, I'm sure
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: he prefers a flying car.
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: I can see that.
- 1:36:08Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: And so this week we want to know what unanswered
- 1:36:15Speaker 2: questions do you all still have about the Harry Potter series.
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: So we'd love to hear from you. You can drop

- 1:36:50Speaker 1: your podcast?
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: My personal bookstagram is at Carman's Reading Corner. I'm on

- 1:37:07Speaker 3: don't really have any other.
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: Social media accounts.
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: It's too much to keep up with, so just Instagram.
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: Feel that all right? So that wraps up the show.
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining us, Carmen. This was
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: a really fun discussion. Yeah, thanks for having me on
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: and stay tuned for part two somewhere down the line.
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: I'm Amy, I'm Nicole and I'm Carmen Mischief managed
