- 0:09stop you from growing that stupid hair. And that's stupid beard. I look
- 0:14I look like, oh I should have added Jumanji to this. Damn it.
- 0:18I look like I should be saying, what year is it? Well,
- 0:23I don't know if Jumanji is really a time travel movie. But that's
- 0:25that's it's startally a time travel movie. Think about it? Think so.
- 0:30They we start with Alan as a child. The video jump forward in time,
- 0:38we meet the two kids. Alan is an adult and at the end
- 0:41of the game travels back and as a child. It's a time travel movie,
- 0:48secret time travel movie. It is a secret time travel movie. You
- 0:51should add that they even talk the Remember when when Alan and his lady friend
- 1:00when they're adults, they have the party and they meet the kid's parents and
- 1:06the parents say, hey, uh, we we're planning on going skiing next
- 1:11week, and like the two of them are like, don't because like they
- 1:15know that that's when they die. They even change the future. All Right,
- 1:19you got me. That's good. This is gonna be fantastic. It's
- 1:33been so long I forgot what I normally say, hello and welcome with you.
- 1:38You're doing you're doing Nick and Joe. I'm Nick. I'm Joe.
- 1:42Esus, it's only been like a month and a half. I did pretty
- 1:46good. I sounded like you too. Yeah. I almost said your name
- 1:49for me. Yeah, I almost said your name for me. My brain,
- 1:53my brain freaked out. Who am I? I don't know. Yeah,
- 1:57by the time we're done with this, uh, brains may be hurting.
- 2:01That's all I'm saying. Uh, thank you for doing that intro.
- 2:05Nick, as I said, be with you with Nick and Joe. I'm
- 2:10Joe. He's Nick. Uh. And we are doing a special episode today
- 2:15something that we haven't tried before. We're doing a movie draft today, specifically
- 2:20with one of our favorite topics in probably fiction. Nick, what is it?
- 2:28Time travel? Time travel? I thought you were gonna do the thing
- 2:31you did it you did his arms, time travel? Am I right?
- 2:37Is that the thing you want me to do? That is the thing I
- 2:38wanted? Yeah? This is this is going that makes sense or none of
- 2:43it does. None of it does. So, yeah, we're doing We're
- 2:47doing a time travel movie draft today. Really excited Uh, we've got a
- 2:52pool of about forty movies. However, we're only doing six categories. We're
- 2:57gonna read those categories off here in a second. But uh, Nick,
- 3:01I'm gonna show you really quick our board here that I am very proud of
- 3:07that I put together. Let's see here. I'm gonna share my screen with
- 3:10you, and there it is. Okay, I see a black screen at
- 3:22the moment. Oh, okay, that's fine. We'll wait. Oh this
- 3:25looks fucking cool. Look at this. Just drag and drop our I can
- 3:31indeed, I can move whatever I want all over the place. So yeah,
- 3:37we're we're gonna be doing six rounds of this. We're going to be
- 3:39trying to create our ideal time travel movie list, and we're gonna see which
- 3:46one of us is able to come up with a better fantasy time travel movie
- 3:51list. As far as categories go, Nick, do you wanna do you
- 3:57want to read off? What are six categories that we need to try and
- 4:00fill in no particular order? Just fill them however you can. What are
- 4:02our six categories today? Our six categories are can you still see me?
- 4:08By the way while I'm reading this? Actually, cannot you are basically gone
- 4:12from me. Well that sucks. Hold on a second, let's fix that
- 4:16problem. Let's fix that problem real good. How about now? I would
- 4:23love to tell you yes, oh hey, yes, I can't see you.
- 4:26Okay, I just have to switch back and forth between tabs. Technology
- 4:28is amazing. You are something special. Okay, I am. So.
- 4:33The six categories that we have today to choose from our secret time travel movies,
- 4:39time travel classics, time travel comedies, superhero time travel movies, and
- 4:46the last two categories are romance and time and stuck in the loop. Those
- 4:55there are six categories. I just can you explain really quick? What is
- 4:59this secret time travel movie? Okay? So secret time travel movie basically is
- 5:04a movie that you don't realize is about time travel until, like, let's
- 5:08say, the last like thirty minutes or twenty percent of the film like comes
- 5:12out of nowhere all of a sudden, You're like, holy shit, they're
- 5:14time traveling. What the fuck is going on? That's a secret time travel
- 5:16movie, right exactly. It's a plot twist where all of a sudden,
- 5:19right at the end, boom, they gotcha. The whole thing was a
- 5:23loop. Or maybe there's only one way to save everything, or the person
- 5:27who is rambling about time travel but seemed insane the entire time, turns out
- 5:30he was a time traveler exactly. That was actually a very specific movie plot.
- 5:36Yeah, you just may I may use for this draft. We will
- 5:41see, we'll see. Yeah, I think the pool of secret time travel
- 5:46movies is not as big as some of the pools for maybe the other categories.
- 5:48But the cool part about this is if one of us makes the case
- 5:55for any of these time travel movies to go in a specific category, even
- 5:58if the other doesn't particularly agree, right the bet. If the case is
- 6:00made, the choice is allowed. So we'll see what happens. Agreed,
- 6:05Agreed. I'm excited to see if there are any creative arguments as far as
- 6:11trying to fit a film under a particular category before before we do our rock,
- 6:17paper, sus or shoot to get started to see who gets to make
- 6:20the first pick. I wanted to just ask you, Nick. You know
- 6:26we both love talking about film TV shows. We love obviously talking about fantasy
- 6:30and sci fi, But for some reason or another, you and I have
- 6:34always really seen drawn towards time travel in particular, which is why we're doing
- 6:39this in the first place. I want to ask you, why do you
- 6:44why do you like time travel so much? What the heck? Oh wow,
- 6:46I hit him with a hard one. That's a good question. I
- 6:50don't know. This is fascinating. It's probably because it's not possible in our
- 6:56life yet at the moment, probably won't be during our lifetime. Maybe later,
- 7:00but doubtful. I think it's probably the hardest scientific problem to solve slash
- 7:04figure out. So it's just cool that because no one knows how to do
- 7:09it, you can essentially take real theories or fake theories and just make it
- 7:13up as you go and create a really fun film that might seem like it's
- 7:17just like another time travel movie, but then there's a nuance or something slightly
- 7:21different that really gets you to think, because again, since it doesn't exist,
- 7:27you can kind of create your own version of time travel, and I
- 7:30think that's why it's like super fun. Agreed. I think for me personally,
- 7:36I just I love the amount of creative thinking that goes into time travel
- 7:42movies, especially something that's not straightforward right where it's really a mind bender.
- 7:47I've always really loved a writer who can use time travel effectively in that way.
- 7:53This isn't a time travel movie, but it is the idea of moving
- 7:57things out of order to interpret them differently, and like it's it's the reason
- 8:01why I love the movie Memento. Right, you experience the order of events
- 8:05out of order, right to try and play with the idea of memory,
- 8:09which is a great concept in and of itself. But that's probably why I
- 8:13love time travel movies is because like you are messing with like how we perceive
- 8:16things and like really pushing our understanding of it. It raises a lot of
- 8:22interesting questions like can you be your own grandpa? I hope not. That's
- 8:26gross. There's a lot of stuff like that grandmother paradox pad the paradoxes.
- 8:35Great, all right, we've we've held this horse long enough. Let's do
- 8:41it. I'm ready cool. So yeah, we're doing rock, paper,
- 8:45sis or shoot for this right yep? Okay, all right, hang on,
- 8:48give me give me a second. Here, you gotta set up the
- 8:50mic. There we go so you can hear me win with both hands.
- 8:56Ready, wait, best out of one, best out of one? Right,
- 9:01yeah, totally one, yeah or nothing? Here we go, rock
- 9:05rock, Wow, this is tough over over the internet. Okay, you
- 9:11ready, let's do a countdown. When I get to one, we start,
- 9:16Okay, on, go on, go yeah, three two one go
- 9:22rock paper scissors. What I thought? It looks like we were in sync?
- 9:28All right, all right, we're gonna go slowly. We're gonna go
- 9:31slowly. All right, I'm going okay, three two one go rock paper
- 9:41scissors. Shoot, no, listen, I gotta say for some reason,
- 9:52no, yours was delayed. I saw I saw mine first. Well we'll
- 9:58see ow this goes with this weird internet going on here? Oh boy,
- 10:03Yeah, we're off to a rough start, all right. So Nick,
- 10:05you have the first pick of the draft. You can start from any category
- 10:09you want, and lucky for you, you get to start with whatever movie
- 10:13you want. So Nick, where are we starting? Oh? I get
- 10:16to choose the first one. Oh shit, okay, hold on, uh
- 10:24there's so many good movies on here. Oh yeah, dude, this is
- 10:31a good one. I'm gonna judge the hell out of you. Yeah,
- 10:33this is actually like. What I would love to do is choose like a
- 10:39more like maybe unexpected one or an older one that people like don't talk about
- 10:45as much anymore, just because of how good revisiting those are. But there
- 10:48are too many. There are too many heavy hitters on this list to not
- 10:52choose one off rip like there's too many there's too many good ones to not
- 10:56choose one off the Rip, like I have to I have to go.
- 11:00Oh I need to make sure what category this fits in. Oh man,
- 11:05you are killing me with the suspense. Oh man, what category would I
- 11:09even put this in? Because it's not really a secret? Uh well,
- 11:13I guess it could be, is it? Is it a secret? Now
- 11:16I'm trying to remember this, trying to remember like when in the movie do
- 11:20you know that they're time traveling? Oh man, I'm trying to figure out
- 11:28what movie you're even referencing here, because it's well, I guess I could
- 11:33go with Romance as well. Oh I think I know what movie you're talking
- 11:39about. I could go with Romance because it's not real, it's not like
- 11:43a loop. It can and it could be a secret. But now this
- 11:46is where the strategy comes in, because if I pick depending on what category
- 11:50I put it in, I can't use that category again exactly. Fuck.
- 11:54This is so much more difficult than I was thinking already off the rip because
- 11:58it's not a class, it's not a comedy and it's not a superhero,
- 12:01although it does include Matthew McConaughey, and he could be a superhero. Oh
- 12:07you did not. Okay, so this is the movie you're talking about.
- 12:09I was totally wrong. Okay. Interesting, Where are you gonna put where
- 12:13you're gonna put it? Nick? Oh god? And now I want to
- 12:18know which one you thought I was gonna pick. This is gonna take forever,
- 12:24This is gonna take forever. Okay. My choice is Interstellar. Obviously
- 12:28one of the heaviest hitters on this list, so Interstellar is my choice.
- 12:33I think it's also the only Matthew McConaughey movie on this list. Nice.
- 12:37Well, I mean, listen, you don't have to do another time travel
- 12:43movie. That's the only one you need for a career. It's that good.
- 12:46You're gonna make me watch this movie again? Well yeah, I mean
- 12:48there's that one part where everyone cries every time. Yes, I've only seen
- 12:52this movie one time, and watch it again because it rips me apart.
- 12:56Wait, you've only seen this movie one time, Joe, I actually own
- 13:01this movie. It's twenty twenty four and I actually physically own this on Google,
- 13:05Like, you can watch this. You gave me your Google account so
- 13:11I could watch it again like years ago. I have to the courage to
- 13:16you. Now you're gonna have to. And honestly, I'm not even sure.
- 13:18I'm not even sure which category to put this in because I really don't
- 13:22want to use Romance. I don't want to use that one yet. But
- 13:26my god, there are so many good ones for secret time travel movie,
- 13:30and I I don't know if I would. It's not as much of a
- 13:35secret as maybe some other ones might be. I mean, I would definitely
- 13:37agree it is it is a secret time travel movie. I mean like,
- 13:41yeah, I mean there are definitely some references in the beginning, right,
- 13:45but like you think that that's like aliens, like playing apart right the Alien?
- 13:48Right, Yeah, it's definitely. I'm just I definitely agree with this
- 13:52argument. I'm just this debating on if I want to use it for secret
- 13:56or if I want to also argue for Romance in Time. And this is
- 13:58taking way longer than was expecting because I told you, Oh my gosh,
- 14:05I'm going through the list right now and looking at what other movies I would
- 14:07like to put for Romance in Time, and there's at least two I can
- 14:09choose, So like, I'm okay with my decision, but there's one specific
- 14:18secret one in time that is so good for the category, which I know
- 14:22you're picking next. So all right, I'm going secret time travel movie,
- 14:28Interstellar, lock it in, Lock it in, lock it in, interesting
- 14:31it secret, excellent choice. I know what your pick is too already.
- 14:37I won't say it for you, but I know what it is, and
- 14:39it's a good It's a goodie. Okay, give you one second. I'm
- 14:45going to mark that down. Let's see here, where's Interstellar? There it
- 14:48is, Nick puts. Actually, do you have the the Google spreadsheet in
- 14:52front of you? Yes? What would you like to do? Can you
- 15:01write next to Interstellar, Nick, secret time travel movie? Yes, it's
- 15:07hard to have. Great, all right, I got it. I'll just
- 15:11I'll do these for all of them. Yeah, yeah, great, because
- 15:16this part this is only for show. Great, awesome. Okay, so
- 15:22the pick falls to me, and now I have to make the horrifying decision
- 15:26that Nick also had to make, which damn, it really is harder once
- 15:31you're actually looking at all of these. And yeah, for anyone who might
- 15:37be who might be listening to this, I'll i'll definitely name the movies that
- 15:41we did not pick towards the end of this, in case you can't see
- 15:46what we're looking at. I don't want to name any movies yet because I
- 15:52kind of want them to be a surprise. There are a few that I'm
- 15:54really excited about, and like, I'm really hoping that you do not choose.
- 15:58Yeah, says yeah, they are definitely part of my ideal list.
- 16:04Interesting that you were so focused on romance, because damn there there's okay,
- 16:14wait, so wait, you do you have to go with the same category
- 16:18I just picked? Can you pick anything? I can sense the strategy of
- 16:22this, all right, got it? Okay, great, okay, okay,
- 16:26well nice. Well then I feel like I want to follow you in
- 16:32though, because this is where this is why this is so great, because
- 16:36there's another movie that could fit in romance and in secret time travel that I
- 16:40absolutely love. Man, this is this is so good. Go ahead,
- 16:45it's okay. But yeah, so all four not naming ones, we're not
- 16:49picking, so we'll keep this whole suspense thing for both of us and the
- 16:53audience. Okay, so I talk it through. I just realized you've put
- 17:00me in a really bad position because yeah, You're screwed. You're so screwed
- 17:03right now, because you know there is one movie, there is one movie
- 17:08that we're both thinking of right now, and if you don't pick it right
- 17:11now for secret time movies next, it's fucking mine. So you better.
- 17:15But I know what you want to put this movie, and I know what
- 17:18you want to pick for a romance in time, and if you don't pick
- 17:22that, I'm fucking snagging it. So you better. It sucks. Okay,
- 17:29So you're losing, rob Paper Scissors was the worst game of that you've
- 17:33ever lost in your entire life, and you and it just happened. If
- 17:36I could do one moment over again, it would be that moment, and
- 17:40I would know not we flip a coin. Yeah, yeah, I got
- 17:45screwed. Guess what your destiny is? Your destiny, Joe, You always
- 17:49lose no matter what game you play. Wow. Wow, that's great.
- 17:56That's great. Wow, that's towards the romance movie. But here's the thing,
- 18:02though, it's not because I also want the secret time travel movie that
- 18:07we're both referencing here as well, and I think I want it a little
- 18:11bit more than the romance movie that you're thinking of, because there's another romance
- 18:15movie. Yeah that there are two. Love there are two. There are
- 18:19two. Yeah, there are two really good ones. Yeah, yeah,
- 18:22they're in it. Honestly, the others on the table. But yeah,
- 18:26they're they're two bad there are. I think that's what saving you is that
- 18:30there are two that are awesome and honestly, right now in my head,
- 18:33I'm not even sure which one I would pick. So there, it's tough
- 18:34either way. It is tough either way. Okay, So I'm I'm gonna
- 18:38go with the the secret time travel category. Okay, so I'm just gonna
- 18:48say what the movies are, screw it? No, no, because I
- 18:49don't want to do that to you. Yeah, I'm not gonna do that
- 18:52to you. I'm not gonna take away your thunder. My bad, my
- 18:55bad. Okay, I'm just going for it. Secret time travel movie,
- 18:59Give me a rifle. Well, that's that's definitely. That's definitely the one
- 19:04that we were that is such a that is that might be that is a
- 19:11better secret time travel movie than Interstellar, like from a secret perspective, like
- 19:15right, it really it's you. It sneaks up like I mean, the
- 19:19last three and a half minutes you're like, holy shit, I just watched
- 19:22a time travel movie, like at least an Interstellar, you know a little
- 19:26earlier. What's going on right, like putting it together but a rifle.
- 19:33It really sneaks up on you, Like I remember watching that for the first
- 19:37time and texting you, going, Joe, holy shit, this movie is
- 19:38a time travel movie. What the fuck I saw this movie. I saw
- 19:45this movie in theaters just thinking I was in for like a cool alien movie.
- 19:49I didn't think it would be about two things that I love, language
- 19:55and freaking time travel. It was time travel language. Are you kidding me?
- 20:00It's totally I've ever seen. Yeah, it's it's insane. I'm very
- 20:04excited to rewatch that with you and review it, watch it through new eyes.
- 20:08That's gonna be especially like that. I've seen that movie again since the
- 20:15first time. Same with Interstellar, so I wonder now that I know what
- 20:18I know about that movie, Dude, I rewatched movies that I love so
- 20:22much, Like I've seen a Rival at least four or five times. It's
- 20:25so good. Really yeah, yeah, And every time I'm like, you
- 20:27should be our time travel experts. Every time I'm like, I can't believe
- 20:32that, Like I get something different to every time. It's incredible anyway,
- 20:34all right, moving on where it's gonna review these movies separately throughout the year,
- 20:41one at a time, so we don't want to get too much into
- 20:42it. So now I get to pick another category. Mm hmmm, oh
- 20:48wait, no, you know what we should do? Do you want to
- 20:52kind of do it like a well, no, I get to pick a
- 20:56category, but you can pick a different category. So never mind, it's
- 20:57my Yeah, I can pick whatever. I just the only reason I was
- 21:00just like, yeah, yeah, I was just scared you might take a
- 21:04rival somewhere else and we're good. I needed to take it. Yeah,
- 21:10I think you can make an argument. You can make an argument for Rival
- 21:15being a romance movie. I think to a certain degree you can make that
- 21:19argument. I don't think it's the strongest part in that movie, but like,
- 21:22yeah, it's definitely in there. Yeah, I would have made I
- 21:26was gonna make that argument if you didn't, so pick up. So I
- 21:30knew that's what you were going to try to do. Joe, secret time
- 21:33travel movie. All right, So and we've already we've done secret time travel
- 21:40movies, so I'm going to highlight that box. Well, the letters are
- 21:45green. That's fine, all right, So I have Actually I'm going to
- 21:49delete the categories. We didn't we're not picking. Is that cool? That
- 21:53is cool? You know we we were talking about Donnie Darko earlier, and
- 21:59I actually feel like Donny is also a secret time travel movie. Uh yeah,
- 22:03yeah, I would agree with that. Do that. Oh my god,
- 22:04that freakin' oh. I can't believe that movie's insane. The script writing
- 22:11on that is like I read the script. Oh like not the script,
- 22:15but I read this the plot to prepare for this, and I was just
- 22:18like, this movie is so ridiculous, so ridiculous. It makes no sense.
- 22:21It's like unreal that that's a that's a movie. Okay, So man,
- 22:26I don't even know what am I gonna pick next. I kind of
- 22:29feel like I gotta go Romance in Time because you know it though, but
- 22:34I don't know, like Dane, there's actually three in Romance in Time.
- 22:41I think there's two super strong ones, but there's a third that is like
- 22:44a dark Horse. Oh interesting, And I don't know if you've seen it.
- 22:48I can't wait to talk to you about it if you haven't seen it.
- 22:51After at the end, when we when we go back. Okay,
- 22:53So all right, we're going, we're gonna go, We're gonna go.
- 23:00We're gonna go Romance in Time. We're going Romance in Time. Mm hmm.
- 23:03And uh, there's two that I really want to choose from. And
- 23:10I think I'm gonna make you really happy because I don't think I'm gonna pick
- 23:12your top choice, saying I'm gonna I'm gonna pick for Romance and Time.
- 23:19My choice is a movie that stars what's his first name? Oh, my
- 23:25gosh, Gleason, mister Gleeson. Sorry, My thoughts went immediately to my
- 23:30college roommate, Kevin Gleeson. And that's obviously not heard you're talking about.
- 23:34No, you know you know who I'm talking about. What's his first name?
- 23:38Oh my god, it's very Toil McAdams. And oh my god,
- 23:42you're talking about the British guy. Yes, you son of a bitch.
- 23:47I wanted this movie so much, dom Hall Gleeson, It's dom Nail.
- 23:53This is this is what. That's my choice this time I was referencing earlier
- 24:00by the yep, I'm so I'm so mad. This was the movie I
- 24:04was referencing earlier when I saw you name Hey, which all right? So
- 24:08for the record, oh really this is this is the one from earlier,
- 24:12This is the movie. This is the movie. So I asked Nick to
- 24:17send me a list of time travel movies that he would want in the pool,
- 24:21because, like I had already created the pool, I just wanted to
- 24:22make sure, like I didn't miss any that that he wanted. Yeah,
- 24:26there were a few that that I had not thought of and had not seen,
- 24:30but one of them that you listed, most of them I had gotten.
- 24:33But one that you listed that surprised that the heck out of me was
- 24:38about It's About Time. I love that movie. That movie ripped me apart,
- 24:45but like in the best way. That is so bad. You got
- 24:48that movie that is, without a doubt, like one of the saddest time
- 24:52travel movies ever, But it's also one of the saddest movies I've ever seen.
- 24:57Yes, but it's so good, like it's it's it's phenomenal, like
- 25:03most most one of my favorite time flux top one percent on like movies that
- 25:07can actually make you feel something. It's crazy. It's crazy how good that
- 25:11movie is and how sad it is too at the same time. Also,
- 25:14I can't remember I remember reading about this movie, like because it was like
- 25:17going off of like Netflix or something like a year ago or two years ago,
- 25:22and I'd never seen it, and I think I watched it and then
- 25:23I texted you about it, and then your reply was like, holy shit,
- 25:26neck this movie, like it's one of my favorite slash saddest things.
- 25:30Like I don't think it was one of those movies that one of us suggested
- 25:34to the other, like a lot of the other ones might be on the
- 25:37list. Does that make sense? Do you remember that right the same way
- 25:40I I, yes, I believe, Yeah, I believe I do.
- 25:42I saw this movie in theaters though me and Anne saw it on a date.
- 25:47Yeah. This was like early in me and Anne's relationship too. I
- 25:48think it was all my Yeah, our our first year or so. I
- 25:52think you had texted me about it and we talked about it right then and
- 25:56there, and I was I was surprised that you had even watched it because,
- 26:00like I think it it had been a number of years since it had
- 26:03been out in theaters, and like, I feel like, I don't know
- 26:06anyone who's seen this movie, right, I God, it's so good.
- 26:11Move it to my name, Move it to my name, it's mine.
- 26:15Yeah, yeah, yeah, dude, my lineup is looking good right now.
- 26:18Interstellar and about Time. I mean, it doesn't even matter what else
- 26:21I picked. This is This is a championship team. Right here is the
- 26:23championshi championship caliber. That is. That is pretty That is pretty good.
- 26:29I gotta admit I am honestly, I'm just gonna it doesn't even matter to
- 26:33me what you do next. I'm gonna be upset that you got It's about
- 26:36time for the rest of this draft, I move it, move it,
- 26:41move it to my name. You got it, all right? So for
- 26:45Romance you're taking, it's about time. Okay, it's just called about for
- 26:51the record, it's about time. I thought, Yeah, it's about time.
- 26:52Yeah, that was it. You keep saying the word it's in front
- 26:57of about time. It's just about time? About time? Or is it
- 27:03just about time? Wow? Really just about time? Yeah? About time.
- 27:07So I'm very glad that I picked this one because I actually know the
- 27:10name of the movie like you. I do wish I could redo that moment.
- 27:17I do wish. Okay, So bottom of the second comes to me.
- 27:23Wait, I'm got to move it to my name. You got to
- 27:26move it in the draft board. Yeah, you know, I did.
- 27:29Can you is it frozen? Do you not see it? It must be
- 27:32frozen then, because it has I don't see it. I was wondering why
- 27:36you're saying that, let me stop sharing, let me let me go back.
- 27:38That's interesting. Also my question is is that gonna Is that gonna be
- 27:41in the recording or is that when we put this online? Is that is
- 27:45that gonna be in the recording? The board? Yeah, the board will
- 27:48be in the recording. All right, I'm gonna redo it about time.
- 27:52Go to Nick. You see great? Is it there? Yep? It's
- 27:56working fantastic, appreciate it. All right, I'm gonna I've actually gonna stop
- 28:03sharing for a moment here so we can focus on us for a second here,
- 28:07so I have huh, I'm actually gonna switch it up here. I'm
- 28:15not gonna go romance because, like the thing is now, I can kind
- 28:22of have my pick of the litter, because you already took the movie that
- 28:26I wanted most, Arrival. I couldn't let you have a rival. I
- 28:30couldn't let you have a rival. I can't let you have a rival.
- 28:33And Interstellar, like that's too much. You made the right choice, but
- 28:37it cost you. It costs you big. And like I knew this was
- 28:41the movie you were talking about. I'm so angry it wasn't. It wasn't.
- 28:47I was thinking I was thinking of a different one, because when I
- 28:51put this on the list, I put it on the list and I was
- 28:52like, he probably has this on Like I was like, you asked me
- 28:56for my list, and I was like, Okay, I'm gonna name a
- 28:59bunch that we both probably have, but I'm gonna try to put a couple
- 29:02on there that maybe he hasn't thought of. And so when I put About
- 29:07Time on my list, I was like, okay, like he's definitely thought
- 29:08of this, but I still want to include it just in case. There's
- 29:11like at least one or maybe two other movies that I sent you that I
- 29:17was like, this is probably not something he's even thinking of. And I
- 29:22don't know if there are movies that even I'm gonna choose, but there are
- 29:25movies that I really enjoy, so it's possible. And so earlier talk,
- 29:30Yeah, we're gonna talk about the ones we didn't pick at the end for
- 29:32sure, for like twenty minutes. But anyway, you're you're up, you're
- 29:34on the clock. Yeah, yeah, all right, So we're going We're
- 29:40actually gonna go comedy here because I'm gonna save my romance pick. Yeah yeah,
- 29:45how about that. And I'm gonna let's see here back. We're going
- 29:53back, We're going back. We're doing I might live to regret this,
- 30:00honestly, because like so, I'm gonna I'm gonna switch it up to time
- 30:04travel comedies. Right, I'm gonna switch it up to time travel comedy.
- 30:11But man, it's tough for what I'm going to be letting go. But
- 30:18I would rather keep my romance pick open. So I'm wanna say screw it,
- 30:22and I'm grab midnight in Paris. I'm gonna put that under time travel
- 30:27comedy. Come at me. Ooh oooo. I believe that there is a
- 30:37fair argument for this. I think that this movie probably is more romance.
- 30:41Well I don't know, actually, no, what I take the back.
- 30:44I've just convinced myself otherwise this movie is more comedy than it is romance because
- 30:48I'm not a specific romance right like the mysters in Love with the Patrist,
- 30:52and we are laughing throughout the movie about this love of the past. So
- 30:57I'm gonna say it's more of comedy time travel comedy. See, I thought
- 31:03you were going to pick this movie as your romance movie. So now there's
- 31:07another movie. Yeah, there's another romance movie that I got my eye on.
- 31:11Uh No, I want to keep that open for so I'm very interested
- 31:17now to see what your romance pick is. Oh, there's a couple that
- 31:21are really good. Though. There are still a couple fit for romance,
- 31:25but they also they also fit they also fit in other categories. Mm hmm.
- 31:30You can get creative with the at least one of them does. Man.
- 31:34Okay, so you've you've marked off, uh, a comedy. So
- 31:41you've got a comedy. Then, okay, I just took the comedy.
- 31:45Did you update your update the board? Did you update the board? Board
- 31:48updated? You didn't, see, man, I had a dramatic drop and
- 31:51everything. No, look, I was I was updating the sheet. It's
- 31:53all good. You're supposed to. I appreciate that, all right, So
- 31:57I can still pick. I've got romance and I've got secret. So I
- 32:04need to pick either comedy, classic, time travel or stuck in the Loop.
- 32:10Oh. Oh, so many choices. The hardest choices require the strongest
- 32:16wills. That is not a precursor to what I'm about to pick. For
- 32:23the record, I don't think I'm going oh Man, but I might go
- 32:27with a different superhero movie because it's so fucking good. Oh my god,
- 32:31is it time for superhero movies already? H There are two that I really
- 32:39want, like really want. There's one I feel like I have to choose
- 32:46because it's like my identity partly, but I don't know if I want to
- 32:52go there. But I'll probably be pissed if you pick oh Man. But
- 32:55there's another one too. Oh my god, there's so many movies you why
- 33:00do we do this to qualify for superhero Oh? Yeah, definitely. I
- 33:05don't know if I'm going with that yet, though, I'm trying to figure
- 33:07out what this one, particular one I'm looking at right now. I'm trying
- 33:09to figure out where it actually goes and if I even have a place for
- 33:13it, or if it's already too late for me because it's not a classic
- 33:15and it's not a comedy. Is it a loop? I'm scared about the
- 33:22movies that I'm leaving out. I actually, oh my god, what I've
- 33:24done for comedy? This might be a loop. It could be a loop.
- 33:29I can make the case. It's fascinating too. Oh, I wonder
- 33:34if we're thinking of the same movie. But the thing about this one is
- 33:37from a strength perspective, from like the overall, and I don't know who's
- 33:44actually gonna grade us, Like who's gonna who's the winner? I don't know.
- 33:49Maybe I'm in charge of grading. I'm yeah, okay, sure,
- 33:53but like if we're thinking about like, you know, it's not the director's
- 33:59best from uh from a like rating standpoint, and so like I think that,
- 34:07like it might actually not make my list stronger even though it is a
- 34:13top notch movie. Does that make sense? So talking about it from that
- 34:15perspective, I don't feel as bad for not picking it. But my goodness
- 34:20is good and we'll talk about that later. Okay. So you know what,
- 34:23Like I feel like I have to do this because I absolutely love this
- 34:25movie so much. I'm going with superhero time travel movies, and the pick
- 34:29is X Men Days of Future Past. Lock it in X Men Days of
- 34:31Future Past. I got going. I gotta have a good choice. It's
- 34:37so good. It's such a good choice. Yeah, yeah, oh yeah,
- 34:45I actually I think it's a of of all of the X Men movies,
- 34:52like, like the group X Men movies, I think this is probably
- 34:54the strongest one. Yeah, Like you know, if we're not count if
- 35:00we're not counting the Deadpool franchise or the Wolverine franchise, Like this is probably
- 35:05the best X Men movie in my opinion. Yeah, I agree, And
- 35:08they do so well. Yeah, and It's Time Trouble and they include just
- 35:13you know that all the actors, like the young and the old ones like
- 35:15it, Like you can't what they pull off was just so so well done.
- 35:20And the moment at the end of that movie when Wolverine comes back and
- 35:24he just and he wakes up and he's and he walks into Professor X's office
- 35:30and he goes, I just got back from nineteen seventy three or whatever the
- 35:34date was, and like the look on Professor X's face, he just like
- 35:38takes a deep breath and he's just like, welcome back. I'm just like
- 35:45sometimes I'll think about that scene and I'm like, yeah, I have to
- 35:46watch this whole movie now, and that's the last scene of the movie.
- 35:50Like I literally watch a whole movie because that scene is so damn good and
- 35:53they and the whole movie leads up to it. I'm just like, I
- 35:55have to watch this movie and now I'm gonna have to go watch it like
- 35:59tomorrow. So anyway, that's my choice. You're up. G Okay,
- 36:06Oh man, I I enjoyed enjoyed that pick, mostly because I'm gonna enjoy
- 36:13I'm I'm glad I didn't pick it. I might have. I might have
- 36:15had to if you let it go for Superhero because I think of among the
- 36:21Superhero choices that we have, I think that's one of the stronger, stronger
- 36:23ones. Also, when we review these just throwing this out here, obviously
- 36:29we're gonna review them as films, we should also grade them under like the
- 36:34rules of time travel. Like obviously the rules like vary from like a film
- 36:37to film, right, But Endgame I think is a good example, right,
- 36:42Like Endgame lays out rules for time travel, but then it breaks its
- 36:45own rules for time travel, right right, So yeah, we should definitely
- 36:51do that. I think Days of Future Past has pretty good rules for time
- 36:54travel for the most part. Yeah. Okay, so looking at this,
- 37:00I kind of want to throw another wrench in here, because for my Superhero
- 37:06film. Now I'm pretty confident you're not gonna choose what I'm interested in,
- 37:07so I think I'm gonna save that. So I've got I've got two choices
- 37:15for two categories later that I'm feeling pretty good about that you're not gonna grab,
- 37:22which leaves me now with classic. I knew you were going to classic
- 37:30Classic. I'm going classic, and man, this is tough because there are
- 37:37so many good classic time travel movies. Now for the records here, I
- 37:44put all three Back to the Future movies, which, like, I don't
- 37:49know why I did that, because like, are you really going to choose?
- 37:52Like you make the argument? Yeah, because like you're not gonna go
- 37:57out of order right and leave two of them out, So you're you're obviously
- 38:00gonna choose number one. But if you really wanted the other three on your
- 38:04list, I mean you could make arguments for them, right, go Classic
- 38:07one, Comedy two. Yeah, And I don't know, rope this is
- 38:12Back to the Future stand podcast or else, Maybe that wouldn't be the case.
- 38:16Oh for sure, for sure. Oh man, there's some good ones
- 38:22on here, though. I kind of want to rewatch time cop freaking Terminators
- 38:24on here. Yeah, yeah, you know, it's funny what I just
- 38:30said about Back to the Future, I would not say the same thing about
- 38:34Terminator. I absolutely feel like you could go T two for a classic,
- 38:38uh without watching T one. I think that's fine. Yeah, I would
- 38:44agree with that. But am I gonna do that? Nick? I'll tell
- 38:49you what. If I didn't put Midnight in Paris in comedy, I probably
- 38:52would have put Back to the Future there. Uh, So we're gonna go
- 38:55back to the Future for my classic time travel. I mean it is,
- 39:00it's the one you know. It's it is the time travel movie. It
- 39:05is Back to the Future. It's Marty McFly. Is he wearing a life
- 39:09jacket? Is he a lifeguard? I don't know, it'll makes sense if
- 39:15it doesn't make sense to you now, but your kids are gonna love it.
- 39:19It's alid batter. I love it. Back to the Future. Just
- 39:23real quick on Back to the Future. I that was one of those movies
- 39:28that, like, if it was on TNT, I always stopped what I
- 39:31was doing to go watch Back to the Future. I think I've only ever
- 39:35seen the movie from start to finish, like maybe maybe two times, maybe,
- 39:43But I have seen that movie out of order a hundred different times.
- 39:49Like that might be the movie I've seen out of order the most sorry,
- 39:54go ahead, go ahead, no, no, no, no, I
- 39:57was gonna piggyback off. The movie I've seen the most out of order is
- 40:01like, because it was always running on like TNT was his Eagle Eye.
- 40:06You remember that one? Oh my god, it's not a time travel movie.
- 40:10But that movie was so mediocre. But can't stop looking that If you
- 40:14turn on the TV and it was on, you're just like, I'm just
- 40:16watching Shilah buf do some stuff. It's just being shy above It's okay.
- 40:22Anyway, Classic we're getting out of hand? Is that? Is that a
- 40:30segue for classic? No? No, We're no, absolutely not. Is
- 40:36there time travel movie? If so, I messed up, I'm not putting
- 40:38it on this list. Yeah, I think I think we're gonna be okay.
- 40:45What else were you saying? We? Are we done? Are you?
- 40:47Or is your point completed? About back in the future? Basically,
- 40:51all I was gonna say was I I remember it had been years after I
- 40:58had seen that movie out of Order, like dozens, if not one hundred
- 41:01times before I actually saw it from start to finish, and like I watched
- 41:06it and I was like, oh, I was really only missing like one
- 41:07scene. It was like pretty pretty micro scene too. Actually know what it
- 41:13is? The only scene I was missing. It's it's literally the like the
- 41:17first ten seconds of the movie when it does the camera is in Doc Brown's
- 41:24laboratory and you see all the clocks everywhere as like the camera pans around the
- 41:31room and they're all ticking and clocking. You know what I'm talking about.
- 41:35Yeah, that was the only scene I think I was I was missing when
- 41:38I finally saw that in college and I was like, oh, because it's
- 41:43a time travel movie again, A get I get it? Yeah, all
- 41:52right, balls in your corner going, man. You know what's tough is
- 41:57I'm a little bit screwed with comedies. I'm not sure I'm not screwed.
- 42:02There's obviously choice. Yeah, I wouldn't say yeah, but yeah, oh
- 42:09there's kind of what I want to pick for comedy that's maybe like a slight
- 42:13dark horse because like it's a newer one. But it's like, but it's
- 42:20a decent, it's good, but it's not like I don't think it deserves
- 42:23to be on a top six list of mine. It's the only problem I
- 42:29might just like avoid this category. For now, what else do we have?
- 42:35Stuck in the loop? Comedies in classics? That's what I have left,
- 42:40right, Just those three categories. That's what you got. Yeah,
- 42:44this is so tough. What's the timeframe on a classic? What's I think?
- 42:52How far it's outside as long as it's am I crazy for thinking?
- 42:55As long as it's outside the twenty tens? I think you can consider it
- 42:59a class Is that crazy? No? I was thinking like around the same.
- 43:05So if it's pre twenty ten, yeah, pre twenty ten, I'm
- 43:09gonna go with because, like, dude, we're we're almost fifteen years right
- 43:14removed from that, So like, yeah, two thousands can considered considered classic.
- 43:17As much as that pains me to say that, yeah, that's real
- 43:21rough. That's great for me though, because there's a movie that I really
- 43:23want it's me. That's great news for me. In my next pick,
- 43:35although I really might just need to do one of those harder choices, because
- 43:38I really for a classic, I really have to pick Terminator two. I
- 43:42just gotta do it. I mean, you just can't leave. Yeah,
- 43:45you can't. I knew I was eating it to you. I knew,
- 43:50No, I respect it has to be it has to be there. It
- 43:52has to be on the list. I can't the other one that I was
- 43:54gonna pick. I will hopefully get to pick later as it fits in another
- 43:59category, and I will tell you at that time if I do get to
- 44:01pick it. Worst terminator or is this terminator took the covers? Yeah?
- 44:14Yeah, I think that that's also terminator too. But two, Nick,
- 44:19time travel classics? Al right, great, feel I feel good about it.
- 44:24I'm not gonna lie, Nick, your list is looking pretty solid right
- 44:28now. I'm like, yeah, I'm going to the ship, you know,
- 44:32like, I'm just just give me the give me the title, give
- 44:36me the title. But we still have so now secret time travel and time
- 44:40travel classics are done, you still have what do you have? You have
- 44:46a superhero available superhero and I have Stuck in the Loop. Right, there's
- 44:58a surprising amount that work really well for stuck in the loop. I know.
- 45:02It's why I haven't picked anything yet because I'm like stuck in the loop.
- 45:07It's I could see that being the last category both of us pick because
- 45:12unless you go with it now. But but there's so many choices that I
- 45:16see. The thing is, I don't think you're gonna choose mine for Stuck
- 45:19in the Loop. That's why I'm confident waiting on that one. I've been
- 45:22doing the same and I watch it be the same fucking one. Oh my
- 45:25god, I'm gonna I'm gonna lose it if it is good. Okay,
- 45:32So for stuck or no, No, not second Loop, I'm not gonna
- 45:37do that. I'm gonna do. I'm gonna do my romance pick now.
- 45:45Yeah, we're we're gonna We're gonna do romance now. Okay. So there's
- 45:51a couple here that I could grab for romance, right. I just realized
- 45:57that there's one that you could technically make a case for romance, and holy
- 46:00fucking ship, if you do this, I'm going to be pissed. Oh
- 46:06my god. So you could make the case. I don't know if I
- 46:09would improve the case even if I was making it. But you could talk
- 46:14about Deadpool two? No, oh interesting, okay, because Deadpool too,
- 46:19you can, you can, you could make the case. Though I agree
- 46:21with you, I absolutely could make the case for Deadpool two. I'm actually
- 46:23I'm not going to. I think that's that's more in line than the one
- 46:28I'm thinking. I think Deadpool toool definitely could be considered a romance as well.
- 46:31But I am you are so curious about which one you're talking about him,
- 46:37I'm running through them all right now. You're just you're gonna do it,
- 46:42Dude, I freaking forgot that this is on the list. This is
- 46:45definitely not the movie I made the list, and I forgot it was on
- 46:49the list. Shoot, I kind of wanted to grab this movie. Oh
- 46:55oh no, this this throws a wrench in my plans. Okay, I
- 47:00don't know what movie you're talking about, but but the movie I am talking
- 47:05about. Oh no, I forgot about that movie too. Oh god,
- 47:08Nick, I've messed up my list. Oh man, I want to go
- 47:12back Joe. Joe's so fun. Joe's so fucking fucked. Oh I'm so
- 47:19upset. Oh no, I'm not. Okay, I can save I can
- 47:24save one of them. I can save one of them. Okay, Okay.
- 47:29So you know what the best part about this is, Joe made this
- 47:31list. Everyone. Joe emailed me this list last night. I got it
- 47:36this morning when I woke up, and I didn't add anything else. I
- 47:38sent him my list. He created his own list. He added most of
- 47:42the movies I added like fifteen. He added the other like thirty. And
- 47:45this guy forgot I did. I forgot. He was more prepared than I
- 47:51was. This freaking guy. All he had to do was scroll down while
- 47:54he was drafting. This is why the Chicago Bears are bad. Every year
- 47:59they do this same thing in the draft room. And You're right, it's
- 48:01it's it's me. I'm in the draft room and I'm like a problem,
- 48:06You're the problem. It's you. It's Mitch. Go with mit. There's
- 48:09no way we can mess that up. Yeah, there's no way. Patrick
- 48:14Mahomes is on the I forgot Patrick mahonmes if that was a moment we could
- 48:20redo. God, I think about that every time I watch the Chiefs win.
- 48:25Anyway, Okay, here we go. We're way off track. Bring
- 48:30it back on track, back to the main branch, if you will.
- 48:34Okay, So I'm going romance here, Okay, And the two movies that
- 48:39I'm I'm stuck between right now? Is I really I was really interested in
- 48:47grabbing Deadpool two for Romance because I have another that I want to grab for
- 48:52superhero Oh interesting? Yeah yeah yeah, And I don't know. Deap Peel
- 48:58two is just a really larious movie. Especially it's a use of time travel
- 49:01at the very end of the film. It's just freaking great. I'm gonna
- 49:06I'm gonna leave it where it is, though, because our main protagonist does
- 49:10not do a whole heck of a lot of time traveling until the very end,
- 49:14and I would prefer to see a little bit more time traveling and my
- 49:16time travel flicks. So for my romance, I'm actually gonna go with Groundhog
- 49:25Day. Oh mm hmm. I believe this qualifies. Yes, I can
- 49:34actually considered. Uh, I considered having this be my obvious pick for in
- 49:38the Loop, and then I realized, like I could get much more creative
- 49:40with Stuck in the Loop. It also fits in too, It also fits
- 49:45in classics. It also fits in comedy, like this movie actually was like
- 49:50a perfect blueprint for most of our draft except Superhero, you know, because
- 49:55like if you think about it outside of Back to the Future, like this
- 50:00is this is the time travel right, Like when when people say you're stuck
- 50:05in a loop, they don't usually when they're going for the joke, right,
- 50:08they don't say that, They're like, oh, are you doing your
- 50:09Groundhog Day? Like this is what's referenced all the time. You so like,
- 50:15there's no way I can. I can let ignore this movie. It
- 50:19had I knew it was getting on my list, I just didn't know what
- 50:22category was going to be in. So I just realized in on one second
- 50:30that I did not share that with you. So yeah, we're taking Groundhog
- 50:36Day four Romance as my fourth round pick. All right, look at the
- 50:43board. The board is looking nice, it's standing out, it's thing out.
- 50:45I'm actually I feel much better about my picks right now, especially if
- 50:49I get to do my last two. Feeling pretty good on it. Yeah,
- 50:53I'm there's so many more good movies left on here, but I also
- 50:58am feeling great. Okay, Actually I have to this down. So this
- 51:00was your romance pick, right, Joe Romance in time. There's another there's
- 51:07another movie. Damn it, Joe is struggling. There's another romance that I'm
- 51:12very upset with that I left behind. Oh god, I love all these
- 51:15films. This sucks. I hate this exercise is terrible. Well, I
- 51:17can't. I'm actually like, I'm really excited to be able to watch all
- 51:20these this year and then actually you have like a full episode on them.
- 51:22But I think I'm more excited for the last like twenty minutes that we're gonna
- 51:24wrap up and talk about all the ones we wish we could have picked.
- 51:27But yeah, yeah, totally, there's gonna be many. Okay, so
- 51:32I have what do I have left? Oh? I have to pick a
- 51:38comedy, and I think Stuck in the Loop or my last two yep,
- 51:44oh man, a comedy. Stressful. I love that we're we're both leaving
- 51:47Stuck in the Loop for our last one. That feels very appropriate actually to
- 51:53do Stuck in the Loop as your final time travel pick. Yeah, yeah,
- 51:57that's true. All right, so comedy, I have to pick comedy,
- 52:01all right? Oh my god. Yeah, this one's so fucking hilarious.
- 52:09I don't know if I want to pick it though I've only seen it
- 52:12once and I don't love like the actors in it. It is, I
- 52:17know what you're talking about. It's kind of like a classic. But I
- 52:22just I almost chose this movie for the record as a start with an eye.
- 52:27Oh that's actually not what I was talking about. But I do love
- 52:30Idiocracy. Yeah yeah, yeah, that's I mean, like, if you're
- 52:35going for a time trouvel comedy, like, is that what only become more
- 52:38and more relevant, I know, but like there's just something about it that
- 52:42I just don't want on my list. I just don't want to pick it
- 52:44as a top six for me. I don't. I don't know. I
- 52:46think it's probably because I've only seen it once, but I'd rather just not.
- 52:51I might get hate for this and go ahead and feel free to share
- 52:54this idiocrisy when it came out. Is not a very good movie, right.
- 53:00The reason why we think it's a good movie is because it's becoming more
- 53:06and more accurate. Right, all right, exactly, very well, right,
- 53:10extremely well, now amazing twenty years ago. This is the shittiest thing
- 53:15I've ever seen in my life, Like, what is going on? We
- 53:20will absolutely get fire for that. Yeah, that's fine. They can They
- 53:24are all wrong, They're all wrong, You're all wrong, all right,
- 53:35Okay, so President Cama will see you. Now. I have to do
- 53:38what am I on? I'm on comedy and I'm on or stuck or stuck
- 53:44in the loop, but comedy, you're stuck in the movie. I'm going
- 53:45to do a comedy now, man, you know, it's crazy, like
- 53:52the only one I think I can do. Well, I'm trying to think
- 53:57about this movie. It's very long. How many jokes can I remember?
- 54:00Because like what Constant's comedy? Like? Is it a serious movie that also
- 54:04has jokes in it? Because I can make that case it make make the
- 54:07case, make the case. I will try to fight you if I disagree.
- 54:10But let's let's see. Wait a minute, of course, comedy,
- 54:14Avengers Endgame, lock it In? I knew you're somehow I knew you were
- 54:17gonna say that. I knew you to say that in lock it in?
- 54:21All right? All right, Hey, hey, I I am before before
- 54:23I just blatantly throw Avengers Endgame into comedy, which like, how dare you
- 54:30throw eleven years of storytelling under the bus with comedy? Time travel? Am
- 54:37I? Right? That's all I have to say that that scene alone is
- 54:42a comedic performance. It all makes sense sense, none of it does.
- 54:46It's a comedy. I said it, put it on the list, allow
- 54:51it. Acknowledge me, I acknowledge me. Okay, all right, so
- 55:01I'm not going to disagree with you. I love you, Thank you.
- 55:05Allow me to convince myself, okay, I will take for me. Does
- 55:13this movie fall under the genre of comedy? Not intentionally? No, I
- 55:17don't think so. However, because of a certain director whose name rhymes with
- 55:25Moss deedon, Joss Whedon, because of Joss Whedon setting I don't know,
- 55:32uh is my lame attempted Joss Whedon humor. Because Joss Whedon set the tone
- 55:40for what is a successful blueprint of a superhero movie with Avengers one. Every
- 55:50superhero movie after this, with the exceptions of Guardians, because Guardians just did
- 55:52its own freaking thing, and good for them, good for James Kinn every
- 55:57superhero movie tried to be of Avengers after this, and like, Joss Whedon
- 56:01is very good. Well, there's a lot debate about this, but whatever,
- 56:07He's had a successful career, all right, anyone fight me on that.
- 56:09He's good at that. That humor, that very punchy humor, right,
- 56:13that's his writing style. And even though I think Avengers Infinity War and
- 56:19Endgame leans away from what Wheaton did in the first two films, I think
- 56:22ultimately Kevin Feige and the heads that be were like, no, no,
- 56:25no, we we need that kind of humor to stick around. Yep,
- 56:30I'll give it to you. The Avengers movies they're funny, Yes, they're
- 56:34pretty funny. They are their comedy and their own right, it's hard not
- 56:37to pick it, and the most quotable parts are the funniest parts. And
- 56:43even when Thanos is being serious and threatening, it also is fucking funny.
- 56:49His his quotes are like hilarious to quote after the fact. You know what
- 56:53I mean, I am inevitable. You couldn't live with your own failure,
- 57:00So where did that bring you back to me? Like, come on,
- 57:05that's hilarious, Like after the fact, it's hilarious. It's you know,
- 57:08there are a few there are damn You're right. Thanos is actually a good
- 57:12example of like not intentionally being funny, right, But it's like afterwards,
- 57:16it's so fun to quote. He's got so much quotable stuff he does.
- 57:22It comes comedy, like, you know, quote, that's a good thing.
- 57:25That's quote that you and I quote all the time. But like it's
- 57:29not an obvious thing, knows quote like you gotta you gotta have to like
- 57:31do a leap in logic in order for it to be a quote. Magnificent
- 57:37magnificent. Yeah, because he doesn't actually say that, doctor doesn't actually say
- 57:43that, right, it's amazing, amazing that they knows that actually right.
- 57:50Oh my god, my brain has exploded. You're totally right. Yeah,
- 57:54that's just funny. That's great. Yeah, he's actually hilarious time travel comedy
- 58:00baby. Yeah, genocidal maniac. He's he is very funny. Yeah,
- 58:05it together, We did it together. I can't believe. I can't believe.
- 58:13Yeah, well that's fine. They can do their own time travel draft.
- 58:19I'm glad that you put a superhero movie in a different category than superhero.
- 58:23That was the whole reason why I wanted to play Deadpool in Romance.
- 58:27I almost put Deadpool here, and then I looked at the Endgame and I
- 58:29was like, wait a minute. I quote the only thing I ever quote
- 58:32from Endgame is all comedy stuff. It's a comedy. I was like,
- 58:36this is my pick. So I'm very happy. So I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 58:39go ahead and say what movie I thought you were gonna pick here? Well,
- 58:45no, that's not true. I didn't think that you were gonna pick
- 58:46it. I I was more so sad that I wasn't picking this for comedy.
- 58:52I can't think of where else I would have put this movie. But
- 58:55for the record, Hot Up. Time Machine is a really freaking funny time
- 59:00so we'll get I have more that I've never seen it. I've never seen
- 59:04it. Like, I'm really mad at him picking. I've never seen it,
- 59:07so I have to I have to watch that. That's on me,
- 59:10for sure, on me. But uh, that's a that's a fun movie.
- 59:15Do you have two more? You have two more slots to pick?
- 59:16Right? I have two more? Yeah, I've got a superhero and I
- 59:19got stuck in Great that makes sense than with what I was just doing.
- 59:22Okay, sweet, cool, But this is really easy for me. So
- 59:28actually second Luke is gonna be the hard one for me. Yeah, me
- 59:30too. So Superhero I am I'm actually gonna go with Am I sharing?
- 59:37Yeah, I'm sharing? Right, Yeah, I'm going with Donny Darko for
- 59:40Superhero. Yeah. Yeah, that's right. That's right. So there was
- 59:49always gonna be a super bring it, bring it. Well, you're gonna
- 59:53have to make a case of why Dinny Darko's to sugar hear movie? Not
- 59:55because I don't believe you, because because I haven't seen movie. And so
- 1:00:00I think the only time I've seen it is when I watched it with you
- 1:00:04when we were like fifteen years old, and I just remember enjoying it.
- 1:00:07So much, but I never went back to watch it, and then I
- 1:00:10read the plot. I refreshed my brain with the plot on Wikipedia before this
- 1:00:15episode, and I was just so blown away about how ridiculous this plot line
- 1:00:19is. This movie is insane. But because I don't remember watching it very
- 1:00:24much and I only read the plot, I need you to make the case
- 1:00:28because in my head, oh, it's not a superhero movie at the moment,
- 1:00:30so please lay it out. It's actually a very easy case. This
- 1:00:34was always going to be my pick for superhero, So this movie is a
- 1:00:38superhero. Anyone who's familiar with this movie already knows what I'm gonna say.
- 1:00:43The world will end in what is it one thousand or No, it's in
- 1:00:49one thousand, two hundred and some odd seconds, in five hundred minutes,
- 1:00:54in sixteen hours and thirty one days, that is when the world will end.
- 1:01:01And Donnie's the only one who can save the world, and he does.
- 1:01:05There's even a scene toward the middle of the movie when he's flirting with
- 1:01:10his lady right and he introduces his last name. She's like, Donnie Darko,
- 1:01:17what is that sounds like a superhero name. It's only at that moment
- 1:01:22that you realize, oh my god, they're doing the stan Lee thing of
- 1:01:24like Peter Parker, Bruce Banner. His name is Donnie Darko because like they're
- 1:01:30doing the Marvel superhero thing. Donnie Darko is a superhero. He also has
- 1:01:36The original movie does not like do a great job at like being very like
- 1:01:42blatant about this, But Donnie has superpowers. Actually, Donnie is super strong,
- 1:01:46and I forgot what else he has, but like he like, I'm
- 1:01:50not even making this up. He legitimately has superpowers according to the movie.
- 1:01:55All Right, I'll allow it. I think that's a great explanation. You
- 1:02:00get your time travel superhero movie and it's don Johnny Darko. I'm actually really
- 1:02:05excited. I haven't seen Dine Darko in years, dude, prepared very disappointed
- 1:02:09one time, but one time watched it with you, like when we were
- 1:02:13fifteen, Like that's literally the last time I've seen that movie. I'm not
- 1:02:15even kidding when I'm very excited to watch it again. Yeah, when we
- 1:02:20I could not stop watching that movie. I was one of those annoying kids
- 1:02:23who had to show this movie to everyone because like, yeah, I couldn't
- 1:02:27get over how mind blowing. I thought it was at that time in my
- 1:02:30life. Oh yeah, it was great. I'm very excited to watch it
- 1:02:35again. For sure. It's gonna be awesome. Dude, we are that's
- 1:02:37a very fun movie to watch blind for sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:02:43all right, this is it. We're in the last category, Stuck
- 1:02:45in the Loop. This is it. Yeah. I think we're running pretty
- 1:02:49good on time, hopefully, Nick Man. This is tough because there are
- 1:02:53let me go down this list real quick, at least three maybe four that
- 1:03:00I like want to pick. This actually really is tough. So like,
- 1:03:05there's the movie that I'm I'm stalling, but I'm gonna pick it because I
- 1:03:09was gonna pick it the whole time, because, like I said earlier,
- 1:03:13it's kind of part of my identity. I have to pick this movie.
- 1:03:15I don't have a choice. But there is another movie that I would really
- 1:03:20like to pick because I think it is so well done and I think the
- 1:03:23acting is so phenomenal in it that I would love for it to be on
- 1:03:27my list. But it's just not gonna fit because for Stuck in the Loop.
- 1:03:31Man actually does this fit? And Stuck in the Loop. Can I
- 1:03:34even make a case that I just I screw up completely. Am I gonna
- 1:03:37even be able to pick h hmm yeah, yeah yeah, because they end
- 1:03:46up where they began, stuck in the loop. This is my choice,
- 1:03:51Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban. Yeah, look at my arm,
- 1:03:58audience, I have to pick the movie. If I don't pick this movie,
- 1:04:02Harry Potter, fay like, this is this is my life. I
- 1:04:05have to pick it. There was no choice. There's no choice. It
- 1:04:09was always going to be the choice. And and we get to watch this
- 1:04:12movie. Now, this is great. It's one of my favorite Harry potterph
- 1:04:17We're going to close that yet to close out the Time Travel NIXT Time Travel
- 1:04:25Team, NIXT Time Travel Draft, Preserve askban Okay, I feel great about
- 1:04:30my list. I think it's a it's just bangers. It's all bangers.
- 1:04:34You got you gotta solid list. I actually really love your list. I'm
- 1:04:38excited at the end we can go through our list, like, not one
- 1:04:41by one, but I think it'll be cool at the end to pick the
- 1:04:43one out of the sixth that we each chose that that could have been better,
- 1:04:47you know what I mean, Because now I now I'm looking at this
- 1:04:50lineup I'm like, damn, there's one movie that, like I think I
- 1:04:53could have. I don't know what I would have put because of the category
- 1:04:58that I chose it at. Anyway, you're up stuck in the loop.
- 1:05:01You've got your pick. Everything is available. Everything else that's available is up
- 1:05:04for grabs. Well, if you can make it, if you can make
- 1:05:08it work, if you can explain it, yeah, if yeah, if
- 1:05:11I can make it work, there's okay. Man, there's a few here.
- 1:05:16Yeah, there's so many. Yeah. I do really want to talk
- 1:05:21to you about this topic as soon as we're done with here, because like,
- 1:05:25I want to know what what you were struggling between. Yeah, there
- 1:05:30are there are three here that I'm actually struggling between. And I'm willing to
- 1:05:33bet that none of them are the one that you're thinking of. No fucking
- 1:05:39that's possible, no fucking way, but it's but no fucking way. Maybe
- 1:05:45maybe one of them. Maybe one of them, man, I God,
- 1:05:50one of them I I want to put on because like it has some of
- 1:05:56the best time travel science of any time travel movie. But man, is
- 1:06:00it it is. It is a tough movie to follow. But there's another
- 1:06:06movie on this list that is definitely a stuck in the loop movie. It's
- 1:06:11not very obvious that's a stuck in lut movie. I'm curious if you've seen
- 1:06:16Yeah, fuck it, I'm pulling the trigger. I haven't seen this movie
- 1:06:19in so long. I'm hoping that you haven't seen this movie so that one
- 1:06:25of us can bring new eyes to it. And I haven't seen this movie
- 1:06:28since I was a teenager. Screw it, I'm going in give me twelve
- 1:06:32monkeys for my stuck in the Loop movie. Twelve monkeys, Baby, Bruce
- 1:06:38Willis, Baby, Let's go Baby, Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt Rules.
- 1:06:46Yes, really due. I've never heard of it. I've never even heard
- 1:06:49of it. I'm excited. I will give you a brief summary of the
- 1:06:53movie We Live. We Live in apocalyptic future. This part will sound familiar,
- 1:07:00in which a deadly pandemic has ravaged the land. It was all due
- 1:07:05to a bioweapon that was released. I forget in what year, but it's
- 1:07:09like the nineties or the eighties or something, and Bruce Willis is tasked with
- 1:07:14going back in time and stopping the bioweapon from happening. That is twelve monkeys.
- 1:07:20I will say no more this movie is wild. I am Brad Pitt
- 1:07:26plays one of my favorite characters that he's ever portrayed. He' said an insane
- 1:07:30man. It's it's it's great. We're gonna have a really fun time with
- 1:07:33twelve monkeys. I'm blown away. I'm excited. I've never I never even
- 1:07:39heard of it. So this is gonna be this is gonna be awesome.
- 1:07:42That I would be lying to you if if if I didn't say half the
- 1:07:45reason I I mean, I love this movie when I saw it. But
- 1:07:50I was looking at my list and I was like, I think Nick has
- 1:07:53seen all of my movies, which is fine, that's fine, but I
- 1:07:56was like, you know, I want to have at least one movie that
- 1:07:58I can introduce to him. So yeah, we're going with twelve Monkeys there,
- 1:08:01and it's this honestly could have worked under Classic, but it's fine.
- 1:08:05Back to the Future was a more solid pick for Classic. Nice. Ye,
- 1:08:09I agree. I think it's awesome. All right, let's keep let's
- 1:08:12let's talk about Stuck in the Loop a little bit, because I think there
- 1:08:15was a bunch here that we wanted to pick. So I'm going back to
- 1:08:17the list. So the other one that I really wanted to pick because it's
- 1:08:21like as it's it's peak stuck in It's peak loop, like every every five
- 1:08:30minutes you're looped in. This movie is Edge of Tomorrow, Yeah, with
- 1:08:36Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, which is like, this is Fi ground day.
- 1:08:41This is literally a sci fi ground ot day, and it is as
- 1:08:44good as it gets. And this this movie is so so so so so
- 1:08:47so so so so so so so so good. Like I'm actually still a
- 1:08:50little bit upset that I didn't pick it, but I gotta get my Harry
- 1:08:54Potter on the list, so it's fine. But yeah, you know,
- 1:08:58I actually I didn't. I wasn't sure if you choose Edge of Tomorrow,
- 1:09:01but I was willing to bet for closing the loop. I thought for sure
- 1:09:06you were actually gonna grab Looper for that. Ah See, I think I've
- 1:09:11only uh, I don't think I've seen the whole movie or I have,
- 1:09:15and I only watched it once and I enjoyed it, but it was it
- 1:09:21wasn't one of the time travel movies I've seen that I was like, oh
- 1:09:24my god, you know what I mean. Yeah, it's good, but
- 1:09:29yeah, yeah, Edge to me, though, is Edge Tomorrow to me
- 1:09:33is just is fantastic the concept there on how the time travel ends up working,
- 1:09:40and it's really cool. No that that movie is awesome. Also,
- 1:09:45there are a couple go ahead. Sorry, sorry I was gonna say,
- 1:09:48we also have to talk about Tenant at some point. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 1:09:53we both ignored Tenant. I didn't ignore it. I just I just
- 1:09:57did. This is the one that I was talking about. Where I forget
- 1:10:00where I was gonna put it. Where was I thinking of putting it?
- 1:10:05I don't even know, because it's not a what would you classify the category?
- 1:10:12Even for Tenant? It's a you know, I think there's an argument
- 1:10:17that you could say, damn, yeah, this would be a tough one
- 1:10:20to put into a category. I would make an argument for superhero so that's
- 1:10:26funny. I would make an argument for for romance. Yeah, I could
- 1:10:30see that also. Actually we're also stuck in the loop. Yeah, but
- 1:10:36it has to be right, It has to be a loop in order for
- 1:10:40that to work. It makes sense. Is a loop really? Right?
- 1:10:43So, like, there are a couple categories that could go into. But
- 1:10:45I think ultimately the reason I didn't pick it was and the reason is because
- 1:10:48like it just wasn't received very well, Like I haven't like of all the
- 1:10:56Nolan films, Like people never talk about Tenant and so yeah, I agree
- 1:11:00with that. Most people a pretty sour on it. I think it just
- 1:11:02came out at a weird time because I think it was either right before COVID
- 1:11:04or during COVID and so yeah, so it was just a weird situation.
- 1:11:10And so it just wasn't received well. And I'm trying to build a list
- 1:11:13that people know that. Yeah, got a dub. Oh, I see
- 1:11:16you try to try to win a popularity contest. I see, well you
- 1:11:20know anyway, what do you what's on your mind? So real quick for
- 1:11:30uh, stuck in the loop? Man, this is I think this is
- 1:11:32actually my favorite category is stuck in the loop because there were so many that
- 1:11:38worked for this. Yeah, so hit us like I'm trying to go back
- 1:11:43to the screen here. Yep, that one, okay. So I I
- 1:11:49flirted with the idea of doing Happy Death Day. That's like a modern groundhog
- 1:11:55Day in which a girl keeps like dying over and over again and she has
- 1:12:00to figure out who's killing her, which is like a pretty cool concept.
- 1:12:04I like groundhog Day, but slasher film. Like, that's that's a new
- 1:12:09concept. I like that a lot. The one that I almost chose because
- 1:12:14like I wasn't sure if you had seen it before Primer. I man,
- 1:12:21I think I could have only chosen Primer. No, I've could have gone
- 1:12:27Classic here, I could. I could have gone classic or stuck in the
- 1:12:30loop. Primer has probably the best time travel science I've ever seen in a
- 1:12:35time travel movie. Yeah, Like the the concept like is really well thought
- 1:12:44out on if you were to do it, how could you achieve it,
- 1:12:47and how would it work following that? And what are the ramifications that follow
- 1:12:54It's it's a really it's I don't The reason why I didn't choose it is
- 1:12:57I don't think it's a very good movie overall because, like, similar to
- 1:13:02Tenet, I think it kind of gets bogged down by its own science.
- 1:13:06Yeah. But weirdly, even though it's a time travel movie, it's simpler.
- 1:13:13It's simpler than Tennant as far as like the plot goes. What's working
- 1:13:17against Tenant is there's a very complicated time travel mechanic, and then the plot
- 1:13:23is also very complicated. Yeah, right stuff. The other one that I
- 1:13:30really had a hard time letting go of and I could have done this for
- 1:13:33either comedy or romance or Stuck in Loop Palm Springs. Yeah with oh my
- 1:13:42god, what's his name? Uh, the guy from Brooklyn nine nine Andy,
- 1:13:49Yeah, Andy, Andy Bomber, Andy Samberg, thank you? Yeah.
- 1:13:54Andy Samberg is the lead in that movie. That's also another groundhog movie,
- 1:13:58but it's with two people. Two people are stuck in the Groundhog loop
- 1:14:00in that movie. Yeah, they're this like resort and it ends up looming
- 1:14:08into a romance. But like, yeah, it's it's a it's a pretty
- 1:14:10interesting film. The movie I wanted to troll you on though, for Stuck
- 1:14:15in the Loop was Doctor Strange because that's how he wins, right, Like
- 1:14:23that's the climax of the movie. Yeah, that gets dorm move in a
- 1:14:26loop. Yeah, yeah, that that is it stuck in a loop film.
- 1:14:30It's also a secret stuck in a loop film because it doesn't happen yet.
- 1:14:36It's true, it's true. It's not a secret time travel movie.
- 1:14:40It's a secret stuck stuck in a loop. It's a secret stuck in a
- 1:14:43loop masquerading as a secret time travel movie. If it were not for Infinity
- 1:14:49War and Endgame. The climax of Doctor Strange would probably be my favorite climax
- 1:14:56of any Marvel film or any superhero film ever. So ridiculous. I've come
- 1:15:01to bargain, I've come, I've come to bark, I've come to bargain.
- 1:15:12He just trolls him until he wins. It's incredible. It's so the
- 1:15:19few that are on this list that I I just love as movies and to
- 1:15:24me, they're just like feel good, like they're just awesome movies to rewatch
- 1:15:29that I wish I could have picked, but that I just don't think they
- 1:15:30were strong enough to be on like a top list. And and and those
- 1:15:35are Passengers. Have you seen Passengers with Chris Chris Pratt, remember Chris Pratt
- 1:15:46and Jennifer Lawrence. It's so good and it's like and it's almost not a
- 1:15:53time travel movie, so like I didn't even like I would have had to
- 1:15:57pick it for romance, and then I would have had to make the case
- 1:16:00some why it's actually a time travel movie. Because they're on a ship like
- 1:16:05traveling to like another galaxy, and so they themselves are like, you know,
- 1:16:13they're moving so fast, so they're traveling through time from where they come
- 1:16:16from, but they're gonna but they're not aging, you know, they're aging
- 1:16:20on their own normal level. But anyone that they you know, they run
- 1:16:27into a problem and they try to like connect with Earth again, but it
- 1:16:31takes you know, thousands of years to the message to arrive. So like
- 1:16:36there's a there's time travel concept, but it's not directly involved with the characters,
- 1:16:43so it's it's a tough case to make anyway. No, I think
- 1:16:46it definitely qualifies. But like because it's so it's really well done and and
- 1:16:51you got it. You have to watch that one, like you have to
- 1:16:54watch that soon, Like I think you'll enjoy it. And then for fun
- 1:16:57soon yeah, and then and then the other the other one is Tomorrowland.
- 1:17:03Yeah, this one I actually am not familiar with at all. Dude,
- 1:17:08you have to I don't know this movie. You have to, like it's
- 1:17:11not well known enough and it's definitely not like popular enough or strong enough for
- 1:17:15any one particular category for me to have like chosen it. But my god,
- 1:17:20like what a fun. It's just it's fun and like George, it's
- 1:17:25George Clooney, Like, come on, George Clooney. But the other two
- 1:17:29supporting characters are fat, they're they're so good. And the actress that plays
- 1:17:34like this like robot robotic, like AI kind of character is she's so peculiar
- 1:17:43that you can't stop watching her act during this film, and it's it's just
- 1:17:46it's just a fun a fun movie, and it is a time travel film
- 1:17:50technically, so I almost I actually would prefer you watch that before you watch
- 1:17:55Passengers, because like, I think there's something so fun about tomorrow Land that's
- 1:17:59like, holy it, this is like super awesome. I haven't seen a
- 1:18:02good Clooney movie in a while. I actually got to do that. You
- 1:18:05should want if we do like a bonus one, you know, if we
- 1:18:10end up doing like a thirteenth one, we should do Tomorrowland because it's really
- 1:18:13good. I'd be down to do that. When we're all done, what's
- 1:18:15the movie that we regret not watching? Yeah, we'll pick one. Maybe
- 1:18:19we'll each pick one the bonus and then I just watched this on the plane
- 1:18:26a couple of days ago. But like Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny
- 1:18:30is such a secret time trouble movie. It's crazy, like it's so ridiculous
- 1:18:33secretive. This it's it's it's it's I enjoyed it for what it was anyway,
- 1:18:41we don't have to talk about it more than that. But it wait,
- 1:18:43sorry, I just I just thought. I just thought of a seventh
- 1:18:45category. If you could go back in time, I choose this movie.
- 1:18:51Fuck, we kind of have to pick it now. We should totally thick
- 1:18:55that though, we have to. If you could, all right, it
- 1:19:00goes to you. If you could go back in time and choose one movie
- 1:19:02from this draft, what would it have been in time? And pick one?
- 1:19:08Pick, pick the unpicked. You can only save one. Oh god,
- 1:19:16now I have to pick. Now I have to pick another. This
- 1:19:19is so tough. This is so tough. I just gave you three that
- 1:19:23I wish I could have picked. H Okay, it's what The nice part
- 1:19:29about this is, I know you haven't seen any of them. Yeah,
- 1:19:31so I can pick Passengers or tomorrow Land. Is what it's between? Oh
- 1:19:36man, oh man? Which one do I want you to watch first?
- 1:19:41I'm going with Tomorrowland because I think Passengers is sci fi enough and we have
- 1:19:47enough of that on the list already, and Tomorrowland is like its own like
- 1:19:53I mean, I guess it's I don't. I will personally wouldn't classified as
- 1:19:56like that kind of sci fi. It's like a different Yeah, yeah,
- 1:20:00it's yeah, going to it's Smartland. That's my I love this. I
- 1:20:04love this bonus category. It's such a this is such a good idea,
- 1:20:08such a good bonus category. This is a great bonus category. Although I'm
- 1:20:12realizing now I probably should have picked Tenant fuck my life, but we but
- 1:20:17we both see yeah yeah yeah. And I like your logic here of going
- 1:20:23for something a little lighthearted, not the serious sci fi stuff. I'm actually
- 1:20:30going to do something very similar here, and I'm gonna grab a movie that
- 1:20:33I actually didn't mention at all, but I really really wanted to grab this
- 1:20:41movie for romance. I'm grabbing if I could go back in time in this
- 1:20:45draft and grab one movie. It is safety not guaranteed. Oh nice?
- 1:20:51Have you seen this movie? Yes? Is this the one with Nope?
- 1:20:58Never mind, I was thinking of a different one. So it's with Aubrey
- 1:21:01Plaza and oh my god, I always forget his name, the actor,
- 1:21:08the actor who plays Pete from the League. Oh nice, No, I
- 1:21:13don't think I've seen this. I was singing for some reason. I was
- 1:21:15singing, I was thinking of burn after reading for a minute. M I
- 1:21:19don't know why that's but I don't think i've seen I don't think i've seen
- 1:21:23it, so it's a great but I've heard of it. I've heard of
- 1:21:26this one, so I think it's a great choice. Most people when when
- 1:21:30they're listing their favorite time travel like most most people. Most most best time
- 1:21:38travel lists that I have seen include Safety Not Guaranteed, which is a romance
- 1:21:45about about uh, I'm just gonna call him Pete until I can remember his
- 1:21:50actual name about Pete and Aubrey Plaza and Pete's trying to build a time machine
- 1:21:58and we're not sure if Pete's is saying or if he's a genius. It's
- 1:22:02a great movie. That's awesome. It's yeah, it's absolutely fantastic. Hell
- 1:22:08yeah. I actually I stumbled in on my roommate Mikey watching this movie and
- 1:22:15I'd never heard of it, and it's just I had no plan, so
- 1:22:17I was just like, yeah, sure, i'll join you and watched it.
- 1:22:19I couldn't stop watching it. I was like, this is I've never
- 1:22:21forgotten it either. It's like, this is such an enjoyable film. I
- 1:22:25less. Hell yeah, all right, well now we've got now we've got
- 1:22:30fourteen films that we have to watch. We'll double up one of the slow
- 1:22:35months. Yeah, I think, well, yeah, we have well there's
- 1:22:39no Russian, we have plenty of time. We can definitely, we'll definitely
- 1:22:42double up a couple. So everything is good. For sure. We'll decide
- 1:22:45later which ones first, but uh yeah, before we go, before we
- 1:22:51go, we're definitely wrapping up here. I just wanna I want to call
- 1:22:57out the films that for in case you know anyone's listening, the films that
- 1:23:02we didn't mention, that didn't make the list. I'm just gonna go ahead
- 1:23:06and name the rest of the films here. I'm looking at Army of Darkness,
- 1:23:12Austin Powers, The Spy who Shagged Me Back to the Future two and
- 1:23:15three. Of course, I do have some regrets about not grabbing Bill and
- 1:23:20Ted's excellent adventure classic Deadpool two, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, which
- 1:23:29actually that's the movie that I watched recently. It is pretty good. Oh
- 1:23:32my god, what is this? Oh it's Edge of Tomorrow, Doctor Strange,
- 1:23:36Death Day, Hot Tup Time Machine. As Nick had mentioned, Indiana
- 1:23:41Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Idiocrisy. Oh man, what is this?
- 1:23:45I have such a bad resolution of this picture. Passengers, Passengers,
- 1:23:49Okay, I was looking for it. When you were talking about it,
- 1:23:51was like, is it on here? Passengers, Looper, Primer, Terminator
- 1:23:59One, The Adam Project, Tenant, Palm Springs Run, Lola Run is
- 1:24:04a movie Nick, you and I are just gonna watch together randomly one day
- 1:24:09because I need you to watch that movie. It's a great German sci fi.
- 1:24:15The Time Machine, The Adam Project, The Tomorrow War, Time After
- 1:24:20Time, The Time Traveler's Wife, Time Cop which dude, any fan of
- 1:24:27the agies who watches or listens to this and sees that this was in this
- 1:24:30pool and that neither of us chose it, We're gonna get some crap for
- 1:24:34that. That's okay, that's crap on them, Time Bandits, and then
- 1:24:42source Code was last film nice, there's a there's a there's a handful of
- 1:24:47films there that I'm okay not watching. But most of these, most of
- 1:24:54these I would have watched again or for the first time real quick. My
- 1:24:59computer is uh, slowly dying. But what's the one, what's the one
- 1:25:08from your list that you chose that you would maybe make the odd man out
- 1:25:14if you had to get rid of one aside from the this bonus category that
- 1:25:18we just did. So within your first six, within your first six,
- 1:25:21what's like the one that you when you look at it from afar, You're
- 1:25:25like, this feels like an outlier for me, I think, go ahead.
- 1:25:30For me, it's Days the Future. For me, it's Days of
- 1:25:33Future Past. And but it feels weird because it's such a good one.
- 1:25:39But I don't know, it feels like my outlier in the in the in
- 1:25:44the in the six, in the top six. So I don't I don't
- 1:25:47regret. Well, hey, let me talk about yours. So Days the
- 1:25:50Future, Days of the Future Past. I see why you're saying that,
- 1:25:54but like, honestly, I don't. I don't know if I agree,
- 1:25:58because like with the exception of About Time, you could make a case that
- 1:26:04like all of those are like maybe Harry Potter as well, all of those
- 1:26:09are like action time travel movies, right, or at least there are components
- 1:26:13of it that are actions. So it kind of fits like the pole of
- 1:26:15that list, you know. Yeah, yeah, I don't regret any of
- 1:26:20mine, Like I'm glad I got what I got. The only one I'm
- 1:26:23really mad about is about time. I really am angry that you got that,
- 1:26:30the only one. Hey, you could have done it. I can.
- 1:26:33I know, I know I couldn't let you get Midnight in Paris.
- 1:26:38But like, here's the thing I regret putting Midnight in Paris where I did.
- 1:26:44I think I could have easily have just put that under romance like you
- 1:26:47had done, and then moved on into comedy, right, although I think
- 1:26:54that would have stuck my classic because I would have been stuck between Back to
- 1:26:58the Future and Groundhog Day. Man, I'm really glad I got both.
- 1:27:01Yeah. Yeah, you're a little You're a little heavier on the classics than
- 1:27:04I am. Yeah. Sure, I'm a little bit more news school,
- 1:27:08I think on most of mine. Actually, it's a good point with exception.
- 1:27:12Ye yeah, I mean, come on, it's T two like you
- 1:27:15are going to. I was gonna find a way to put it there.
- 1:27:16I gotta do it, You gotta do it. Yeah, terminator too.
- 1:27:19It's a comedy. I mean, look just like fan of hilarious quotes.
- 1:27:30Hilarious quotes, it's comedic afterwards. Oh man, all right with me,
- 1:27:35if you want to live. I am. I am eager. I'm eager
- 1:27:42to grade our drafts. But here here's what I think we should do.
- 1:27:46I think we should wait till we watch all of them to decide who actually
- 1:27:50had the better the better draft, because we got to We're gonna rate these
- 1:27:54movies, right. Oh, that's how we do it. That's how we
- 1:27:56figure out who had the better draft as we rate the movies. Down the
- 1:27:59line. There we go, fimering it out as we go. Baby,
- 1:28:01it's all coming together baby time travel. Am I right? So basically you're
- 1:28:09gonna have to stick around watch all of these reviews as we review these fourteen
- 1:28:13movies over the next ten to fourteen months. So thank you for joining us
- 1:28:17and to find out to find out how I was right and Nick was wrong.
- 1:28:21Unless you catch all of these fourteen months from now, and it's crazy.
- 1:28:27It's like time travel for you. You just fast forward through all of
- 1:28:29it. We get to live through it in real time. Love it,
- 1:28:34love it all. Right. Well, on that note, I think we're
- 1:28:40gonna put it right there. We're gonna we're gonna break the loop right here
- 1:28:44until next time. Thanks for sticking around, Nick. This was a lot
- 1:28:47of fun. So bad, looking, so much fun. Looking forward to
- 1:28:50watching all of these with you on the next time with either of you.
- 1:28:56Be with you who
