Speaker 2: I'm a magical mystery to you.
• 1:05
Speaker 1: I think that would be a fun, different thing for you to do.
• 1:07
Speaker 1: Let me get that rascal door out.
• 1:09
Speaker 1: Then you would do your car feature review of the Arcadia.
• 1:15
Speaker 3: Well, I'm thinking I'll probably do the Arcadia instead, let's do that one instead.
• 1:19
Speaker 2: He told me it was going to be the Arcadia and that's what I went with and you believed it.
• 1:24
Speaker 1: Look, and somebody up there spelled it right.
• 1:25
  Speaker 1: You believed it.
• 1:26
Speaker 1: It says Arcadia, arcadia.
• 1:28
Speaker 1: Now you're doing it, golly Arcadia.
• 1:34
  Speaker 2: Only from.
• 1:34
  Speaker 1: Meterville.
• 1:35
Speaker 2: ladies and gentlemen, hey, let me look up the.
• 1:39
  Speaker 1: Arcadia store.
• 1:40
Speaker 2: See if I can find it Three Stooges to the Alphabet.
• 1:44
Speaker 4: The Alphabet, see if I can find it, three stooges to the alphabet the alphabet A-A-B, b-a-c.
• 1:48
Speaker 2: You're on, Michael, In case you're just joining us.
• 1:52
Speaker 3: I'm talking about the 2025 GMC Acadia.
• 1:55
Speaker 1: No, you're going to be talking about it.
• 1:57
Speaker 3: No, I am talking about it now the Denali all-wheel drive version of this vehicle.
• 2:02
Speaker 3: Now, this is a midsize crossover SUV.
• 2:06
Speaker 3: It comes in three trim levels the Elevation, which has an all-wheel drive variation to it, the AT4 and the Denali, and we happen to have the Denali with the all-wheel drive.
• 2:18
Speaker 3: Now, this is the third generation of the Acadia.
• 2:20
Speaker 3: It was introduced in 2024.
• 2:22
Speaker 3: So 2025 is kind of some tweaks, some updates on it, and we happen to have the seven passenger model.
• 2:27
Speaker 3: I found out I haven't seen it but in the elevation you can get an eight passenger seating arrangement on it.
• 2:35
Speaker 3: Uh, out front you're going to find rain wipers, led lighting.
• 2:39
Speaker 3: You got a panoramic sunroof, you got roof rails on it, you got a auto sense power lift gate that works pretty good.
• 2:48
Speaker 3: And then you got a 22 by eight and a half inch aluminum wheels on this vehicle that look really well.
• 2:54
Speaker 3: Now, that is the optional package, and we also had the trailering package, which I'm mentioning that here because that's part of what we'll get to in just a little bit.
• 3:03
Speaker 3: The interior, we had the leather seating, which, which is a Denali, that's what you expect.
• 3:07
Speaker 3: Front seats are heated and ventilated.
• 3:09
Speaker 3: The second row are bucket seats in this model.
• 3:11
Speaker 3: Again, if you happen to get the eight-passenger seating arrangement, that would be a bench seat Then we had.
• 3:17
Speaker 3: The third row is a 60-40 split with the one-touch fold option.
• 3:20
Speaker 3: When you lift up the gate, there's a button right there fold option.
• 3:23
Speaker 3: When you lift up the gate, there's a button right there, you push it and everything starts folding and it's really really cool if you're trying to put cargo in and you don't think to fold it down before you get to it.
• 3:29
Speaker 3: Up front we had the 15 inch display.
• 3:31
Speaker 3: Now it's standard in this vehicle.
• 3:33
Speaker 3: That's where you're going to find all your convenience controls, the nav, your, your uh surround vision cameras to see around all the vehicle.
• 3:40
Speaker 3: We also had the-inch driver information center right in front of us Got a lot of different ways that you can configure that to however you want it to, where you get the information you need about the vehicle.
• 3:52
Speaker 3: The rear camera mirror works great.
• 3:53
Speaker 3: It's got a really good picture on that and I've come to like that a whole lot and I miss it when we don't have it.
• 3:59
Speaker 3: This unit happens to have a rear air conditioning system on it too.
• 4:02
Speaker 3: Bose 16-speaker audio system will fill this thing up with plenty of sound now, up front, the only engine you're going to get in this is a 2.5 liter turbo.
• 4:11
Speaker 3: It has 328 horsepower.
• 4:14
  Speaker 3: It's 326 pounds.
• 4:15
Speaker 3: Yes, four cylinder, 326 pound feet.
• 4:19
Speaker 3: Maybe losing, say, eight speed automatic.
• 4:24
Speaker 3: Did you lose your place?
• 4:25
Speaker 3: No, I was looking for something else.
• 4:26
Speaker 3: When you said that, I said what?
• 4:27
Speaker 3: Anyway, it's rated to tow 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.
• 4:31
Speaker 3: Now that's where the trailer package comes in with this vehicle, so that you can get to that.
• 4:35
Speaker 3: Now the EPA says you should be looking for 19 in the city, 24 on the highway and combined 21.
• 4:41
Speaker 3: Now I drove this vehicle 138 miles the days that I had it and I got 18 miles per gallon as an overall average on it.
• 4:50
Speaker 1: You only drove it 100 miles, 130, oh okay, 130 well, my crosstown commute is four miles so why didn't you drive it over here last?
• 5:00
Speaker 3: well, because I had to drive the truck because we were bringing gear and loading gear up and stuff and all that the other week that I had.
• 5:06
Speaker 1: Sorry, I didn't mean to sidetrack you.
• 5:08
Speaker 3: Go ahead but but out on the highway.
• 5:10
Speaker 3: I did push it out on the highway some and and it was surprisingly quiet for that big of a vehicle.
• 5:14
Speaker 3: Sometimes you think, well, it's big and it's open and it's going to have a lot of echo and a lot of noise.
• 5:19
Speaker 1: It's only got a four banger in it and it's got responsive steering.
• 5:23
Speaker 3: It's very responsive and it has the performance suspension on the Denali.
• 5:26
Speaker 3: So not only is it roomy but it's very responsive and it doesn't wobble all over the road.
• 5:32
Speaker 3: Now, base model price on a vehicle like this $42,900.
• 5:36
Speaker 3: The base trim price is $55,900.
• 5:40
Speaker 3: Yikes and MSRP, as we got it was $64,410.
• 5:46
Speaker 3: Oh10, so it's it's kind of up there.
• 5:48
Speaker 3: When you look at the ford explorer, that starts at 39, 7.
• 5:52
Speaker 3: The honda pilot starts at 40 200, the kia telluride which I happen to like that vehicle as well 36 390.
• 6:01
Speaker 3: So at the base trim level.
• 6:03
Speaker 3: But again, you're talking about this is the Denali, so it does have a lot of extra things on it, a lot of extra touches that are considered upgrades in it.
• 6:10
Speaker 3: But if you're looking for that size of vehicle, I was really impressed.
• 6:13
Speaker 3: My wife was impressed with it.
• 6:14
Speaker 3: You know it's something that you should look at Heck yeah for $65,000, hello, it almost feels like you're driving the bigger Tahoe.
• 6:26
Speaker 3: It is a low.
• 6:26
Speaker 3: It almost feels like you're you're driving the bigger tahoe.
• 6:28
Speaker 3: Yeah, to me it's like.
• 6:28
Speaker 3: It's like a I won't don't want to use the term downscaled tahoe.
• 6:30
Speaker 3: It's a little bit smaller than a tahoe, but to me it's.
• 6:33
Speaker 1: The luxury is there that thing that you're driving today.
• 6:35
Speaker 1: What is that thing out there?
• 6:36
Speaker 1: Traverse, is it Traverse?
• 6:39
Speaker 1: Yes, that's another one.
• 6:41
Speaker 1: You pulled up in that and I thought well, that's a Suburban, oh no, it's a Tahoe.
• 6:46
Speaker 1: So they're making these vehicles, they're changing the body style.
• 6:51
Speaker 1: And they look really good and they look a lot bigger than the original version of that thing.
• 6:57
Speaker 3: Well, I think absolutely all of them have gotten bigger slowly but surely over the last 10 or 12 years.
• 7:02
Speaker 3: Everything has, but they look they're taking on more of a luxurious trim.
• 7:07
  Speaker 3: Look to me.
• 7:08
  Speaker 1: Yeah, they are.
• 7:08
Speaker 3: That's exactly it, because I was looking at that one and I'm thinking, you know, you see all these guys in the black Suburbans and all their black suits on TV.
• 7:16
Speaker 3: Why wouldn't you drive this?
• 7:19
Speaker 3: It's big and it's nice, Four-door, easy to handle.
• 7:23
Speaker 3: Anyway, that's the 2025 Acadia Denali all-wheel drive.
• 7:28
Speaker 3: What does Denali mean?
• 7:30
  Speaker 2: It means it's a mountain.
• 7:31
Speaker 2: Yeah, it means the high one or tall one.
• 7:34
Speaker 2: It's an Alaskan name.
• 7:38
Speaker 1: Yep, I Googled why you're doing it Back in the day.
• 7:39
Speaker 1: Did you ever date any Alaskan women?
• 7:41
Speaker 1: No, when in the day did you ever?
• 7:42
Speaker 3: date any Alaskan women?
• 7:43
Speaker 3: No, where in the world would I find?
• 7:45
Speaker 2: an Alaskan woman in Southeast.
• 7:46
  Speaker 3: Texas.
• 7:48
Speaker 2: I hear they kiss funny.
• 7:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, with their noses and the ones that I saw.
• 7:54
Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I'm good.
• 7:58
Speaker 2: Okay, I guess we just lost all our Alaskan listeners.
• 8:01
Speaker 2: Do we have any Mars would?
• 8:03
Speaker 3: know that we had that lady up there.
• 8:04
Speaker 3: I'd have to look.
• 8:06
Speaker 3: I don't remember seeing there's some Washington state that's getting close.
• 8:09
  Speaker 3: Do you have?
• 8:10
Speaker 1: any from Siberia no.
• 8:13
Speaker 3: We're banned in Russia.
• 8:15
Speaker 1: We're banned in Russia, okay.
• 8:16
Speaker 1: Well, there goes that.
• 8:16
Speaker 1: Alright, I've got some Recalls to tell you about Kia Sorento, Sorentrento Hybrid and the PHEV from 24 to 25.
• 8:27
Speaker 1: Loss of headlights and taillights, that's not good at night.
• 8:31
Speaker 1: Ford Motor Company recalling 272,000 US vehicles on concerns over battery failure.
• 8:38
Speaker 1: The recall affects certain 21 to 23 Bronco Sport crossovers and 22 to 23 Maverick pickups.
• 8:46
Speaker 1: 12-volt battery may experience degradation and suddenly fail.
• 8:50
Speaker 1: Well, apparently it's not a Delco Remy, or it's not a Diehard, which can result in a loss of electrical accessories including the hazard lights or cause a loss of drive space.
• 9:02
Speaker 1: I don't know what batteries they use in there Ford Motor Company, fomaco's.
• 9:05
Speaker 1: I guess, Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the 12-volt battery for your charge.
• 9:10
Speaker 1: Good, GM recalling 2,890 Equinox EVs due to concerns about their adaptive cruise control.
• 9:18
Speaker 1: Recall affects certain 25-model Chevy Equinox EV all-wheel drive electric vehicles.
• 9:24
Speaker 1: Dealers will update the software calibration in the brake system Control module free of charge.
• 9:29
Speaker 1: It better be free.
• 9:30
Speaker 1: How dare you sell me that and screw me over?
• 9:34
Speaker 1: Okay, Now it's time for the Hemmingscom sold cars roundup and right out of the box I've got a good one.
• 9:44
  Speaker 1: Isn't a LaSalle?
• 9:46
Speaker 1: Isn't that the pre-runner to Cadillac, or the Cadillac brother, or something?
• 9:50
Speaker 2: LaSalle Well, lasalle, michigan, it was actually.
• 9:53
Speaker 2: I think they were founded or part of the organization's beginnings in LaSalle.
• 9:58
Speaker 3: But that was actually a model car Well this one.
• 10:02
Speaker 1: Here is a brand, the.
• 10:04
  Speaker 2: LaSalle.
• 10:04
  Speaker 1: A 1940 LaSalle 52 Special.
• 10:08
Speaker 1: Now you know that has the three slots down the side.
• 10:13
Speaker 1: Was LaSalle part of Buick?
• 10:14
Speaker 1: I'm not sure, but at any rate it's got GM history in it.
• 10:18
  Speaker 1: 1940 LaSalle 52 Special.
• 10:21
Speaker 1: It is an absolutely stunningly beautiful convertible.
• 10:25
Speaker 1: To me that's a movie star car right there.
• 10:27
Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, and it's kind of a sea mist green, blue painted.
• 10:32
Speaker 1: It's really pretty pretty.
• 10:34
Speaker 1: So, uh, how much do you think something like that would go for big white whites on it?
• 10:39
Speaker 1: Looks like it's been restored back to its original style and everything.
• 10:44
Speaker 2: I've been watching Barrett-Jackson this week, so I know what this one is.
• 10:47
  Speaker 2: I'm saying $72,000.
• 10:50
  Speaker 2: $72,000,.
• 10:51
Speaker 3: Mr Morris, I was going to stretch to $40,000.
• 10:55
  Speaker 1: $32,000.
• 10:57
  Speaker 1: That's what I said $550.
• 11:00
Speaker 1: I brought it up because it's a pretty car.
• 11:03
Speaker 3: it's absolutely gorgeous and I could think yeah, yeah, yeah, hi doing the queen wave as you go by.
• 11:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, and I know how to do that.
• 11:13
Speaker 2: He does that now okay, uh, this is.
• 11:18
Speaker 1: It appears as though this was a plain Jane Acadia 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle.
• 11:28
Speaker 1: Oh, it's been repainted.
• 11:30
Speaker 1: It has white stripes on the hood like the SS.
• 11:35
Speaker 1: Okay, it doesn't have the SS badging on it or on the front, but it's got some custom aftermarket wheels on it.
• 11:43
Speaker 1: Just the wheels and the white stripes alone.
• 11:45
Speaker 1: Okay, that kind of kicks it up a notch.
• 11:47
  Speaker 1: For me, it's clearly a Restomod, a 1970.
• 11:52
  Speaker 1: Oh, restomod.
• 11:53
Speaker 3: Well, it appears to be, If it doesn't have the SS on it.
• 11:56
Speaker 3: So it's not going to be a factory 396 or 34 or something like that.
• 12:01
  Speaker 1: It probably had a 350 V8 in it 1970.
• 12:03
  Speaker 1: Chevy Chevelle $12,000.
• 12:10
  Speaker 3: $22,000.
• 12:11
  Speaker 1: Mars Yep $21,000.
• 12:13
Speaker 1: Pretty darn good, I would buy that car.
• 12:16
Speaker 1: You look at it, you tell me.
• 12:19
Speaker 3: Well, the only thing that I would need it to be is a convertible.
• 12:22
Speaker 3: Why, and then of course, that would cost more.
• 12:24
  Speaker 2: Fry your brain.
• 12:26
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 12:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what you need over there in Neiderville in August and September a convertible.
• 12:31
Speaker 3: There's at least four days a year you could drive that car with a top down.
• 12:34
Speaker 3: That's right, four days a year, and they were last week.
• 12:37
Speaker 2: Yeah, and all that fallout from the refineries, oh yeah, sure why not Okay.
• 12:42
Speaker 1: Now here's one that a 1986 Nissan 300ZX, an 86 Nissan 300ZX Because you know this particular model, I know was it kind of resembled the original Z, but it was much bigger.
• 13:04
Speaker 1: It just didn't work for me and apparently a lot of other people, because they didn't sell it that many years my brother used to buy Zs every year or every couple of years.
• 13:11
  Speaker 1: Okay, well, 86 Nissan 300ZX.
• 13:15
Speaker 1: What do you think that sold for?
• 13:16
Speaker 1: I'll let you go first.
• 13:18
Speaker 1: It's got custom wheel.
• 13:19
  Speaker 1: Aftermarket wheel.
• 13:20
Speaker 3: Mr Know-it-all, which just ruins it.
• 13:21
Speaker 3: No, I'm going to go like 17.
• 13:26
  Speaker 1: I'm going to go 20.
• 13:28
  Speaker 1: $6,500.
• 13:30
  Speaker 2: That's even worse.
• 13:31
Speaker 2: Last time I listened to you, that's even worse than I thought.
• 13:33
Speaker 1: See, I do like to try to stump the band on this.
• 13:37
  Speaker 3: Golly.
• 13:39
Speaker 1: All right, jeff, this is really about you on this one.
• 13:47
Speaker 1: But you're in it's automatic winner a 1976, put your mind there.
• 13:49
  Speaker 1: 76 lincoln mark 4 mk4.
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, two-door.
• 13:55
Speaker 1: There was a ford thunderbird version of this car at the same time, but this is the Lincoln version, so step it up a bit.
• 14:04
Speaker 1: It looks like it's all stock.
• 14:06
Speaker 1: Okay, it's clean looking.
• 14:09
Speaker 1: It has the Landau roof on it with the opera window.
• 14:15
Speaker 2: I'm going to have to bump it up.
• 14:16
  Speaker 2: Another dollar, uh-huh.
• 14:17
  Speaker 3: Eight grand.
• 14:18
Speaker 3: I was going to take a dollar off.
• 14:19
Speaker 3: No, I would throw that one in.
• 14:23
Speaker 3: Okay, has it got the spare tire thing on the back?
• 14:28
Speaker 1: No, I can't see that, oh, okay.
• 14:30
Speaker 2: You're talking about the Continental kit.
• 14:31
  Speaker 1: The.
• 14:32
  Speaker 3: Continental kit.
• 14:32
Speaker 3: That's what I was trying to think of, but I think that all that was was a hump in the sheet metal.
• 14:36
Speaker 3: Yeah, it was just a.
• 14:36
  Speaker 3: Anyway, go ahead.
• 14:38
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, okay, Well, no, I would throw it $12,000.
• 14:41
  Speaker 1: $11,025.
• 14:44
  Speaker 2: Wow, and I watched Barrett-Jackson.
• 14:46
  Speaker 2: You know what?
• 14:47
  Speaker 2: That's the problem.
• 14:49
Speaker 2: Oh, they were big money.
• 14:50
Speaker 2: Oh my this car here, hot rod tour of a Texas car.
• 14:53
Speaker 2: I actually thought of Don when I was watching it because they had a run.
• 14:56
Speaker 2: They must have had 20, 69 Camaros go through there.
• 15:00
Speaker 2: Really Different variations of colors, restaurant mods, originals Boy, I'll tell you what man.
• 15:04
Speaker 2: So I thought of it because I know that's his baby, that's his dream.
• 15:06
Speaker 2: But that scares me.
• 15:08
Speaker 2: Some of the new ones, like the C8s and stuff, they weren't even going for the sticker of what they were priced at.
• 15:14
Speaker 2: The stuff like the 69s and the 70s, they were jacked up.
• 15:18
Speaker 2: They were given all the money for those things.
• 15:19
Speaker 2: I'm good, I'm good, all right, and it's on today at 1 o'clock Central, until whenever.
• 15:26
Speaker 1: This one here I'm going to show you because I want you to get a good idea of this.
• 15:31
Speaker 3: I'm going to get this, Mike.
• 15:32
Speaker 1: It looks very clean Jeff's here now I wouldn't say it's a low boy, but it is a convertible.
• 15:39
  Speaker 1: It's a 1932 Ford Roadster.
• 15:41
Speaker 1: It's clearly a Restomod custom, whatever you want to call it.
• 15:47
  Speaker 1: There it is.
• 15:49
Speaker 1: It's yellow with a beige top, Yep high boy, With a closed motor underneath there.
• 15:57
Speaker 1: It's got the sides on the and it's got, you know, aftermarket wheels on it.
• 16:03
Speaker 1: I mean it looks like a Roadster, Hot Rod 31.
• 16:06
  Speaker 3: 48.
• 16:08
  Speaker 2: 34, 650.

• 16:13
Speaker 2: I'm taking that one.
• 16:13
Speaker 2: See, I could do that 34.
• 16:15
Speaker 1: I could do that I couldn't do that one.
• 16:17
Speaker 3: Well see, I figure that one's probably got air conditioning.
• 16:20
  Speaker 2: Exactly.
• 16:21
Speaker 3: It could, yeah, and all that stuff on it.
• 16:27
Speaker 1: I mean it's nice enough, nope, but I want it fuel injected.
• 16:30
Speaker 1: Okay, it could be.
• 16:32
Speaker 1: I don't, it, doesn't have it does not have to be an LS motor, but it's got to be fuel injected.
• 16:37
Speaker 1: I don't want to deal with, you know, hydro lock stuff.
• 16:40
Speaker 1: Crap out on the freeway.
• 16:42
Speaker 1: I want a three speed, if not a four speed, automatic transmission and air conditioning.
• 16:47
Speaker 2: One thing you got to factor in, don.
• 16:49
  Speaker 2: You're 6'2", 6'3".
• 16:50
Speaker 2: Will you fit in that?
• 16:51
  Speaker 2: I don't think you'd fit in that.
• 16:52
Speaker 2: Oh, you'd be surprised, do?
• 16:53
Speaker 1: I fit in the Corvette Barely.
• 16:55
  Speaker 1: No, barely, barely.
• 16:57
  Speaker 1: I'm 6'1".
• 16:57
Speaker 1: Thank you, I barely fit in the Corvette.
• 16:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's of laid out.
• 17:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, I understand that, but not the original ones.
• 17:15
Speaker 1: You have to make it.
• 17:16
Speaker 1: Well, our last car said in the rumble seat and just stick it.
• 17:17
  Speaker 1: That's not happening.
• 17:18
Speaker 1: But thanks for the offer.
• 17:18
Speaker 2: Here's the last one, the 1973 opal gt.
• 17:20
Speaker 2: I like the opal gt.
• 17:21
Speaker 1: I like the opals back talk about something you can't get into 73 opal gt.
• 17:25
Speaker 1: When they were new I thought that they were the bomb.
• 17:28
  Speaker 1: I did too.
• 17:29
  Speaker 1: How much?
• 17:30
  Speaker 1: What do?
• 17:31
Speaker 1: You think that would go, for it looks stock Orange paint job, which clearly isn't stock paint job.
• 17:38
Speaker 1: It looks like it's got stock wheels on Opel GT.
• 17:41
Speaker 3: Give me some help here, Jeff.
• 17:43
Speaker 2: Heightsman, I'm not new, I know.
• 17:45
Speaker 2: I already know I'm going to win it with nine grand.
• 17:48
Speaker 3: I was thinking 12, but that seems high to me 25.2.
• 17:52
  Speaker 3: What, what?
• 17:54
  Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
• 17:54
Speaker 3: What you got a hemi in it or something.
• 17:57
  Speaker 1: No, it's probably an all-original super-clean.
• 18:00
Speaker 1: Low miles, That'd be my guess.
• 18:02
Speaker 3: Man, Because brand new it was only like 10 grand.
• 18:06
Speaker 2: I would have said that if I knew all those factors, what factors Low?
• 18:10
  Speaker 2: Mileage original.
• 18:11
  Speaker 2: I don't know that we're just guessing.
• 18:14
  Speaker 3: I don't know that.
• 18:14
Speaker 3: All right, heisman went 22, so he would have been close.

  Speaker 1: Time.
• 20:42
Speaker 1: Now for Jeff's Motor Minute.
• 20:44
  Speaker 1: Yes, let's go.
• 20:45
Speaker 2: Update on Mario Andretti, cadillac and all the Formula One guru stuff out there.
• 20:49
Speaker 2: Former Formula One world champion, mario Andretti will be a director of the board of the newly approved Cadillac F1 racing team which puts a famous American carmaker with racing partner Andretti Global on the grid of 2026, not very far away.
• 21:07
Speaker 2: It was a long and agonizing road, andretti said.
• 21:10
Speaker 2: Application was denied in early 24 by the F1 commercial side of the business.
• 21:14
Speaker 2: Mario spoke to NBC last week and it was about achieving his dream and his role of the new team advising on driver selection, which is good.
• 21:22
Speaker 2: Everybody on the other teams are wanting to jump and go back onto them.
• 21:25
Speaker 2: He said the team is in discussions with Ferrari to build an engine for the first two years before 2028, when it plans to have cadillac praise lord power unit.
• 21:35
Speaker 2: He said the target is to launch with one experienced f1 driver, which name one, probably him, uh, and a younger american talent, which is also cool.
• 21:46
Speaker 2: Formula one is really the olympics of motorsports, he said, because of the international nature of it, and so there's a lot of national pride that goes with it.
• 21:54
Speaker 2: When you win, they play the national anthem and you're up on that top step of the podium.
• 21:58
Speaker 2: He's loving that and the role of andretti global.
• 22:00
Speaker 2: Well, andretti says they're going to build the car.
• 22:03
Speaker 2: Cadillac will build the engine of the power unit eventually.
• 22:06
Speaker 2: It can't be more complicated than that.
• 22:08
Speaker 2: So there you go.
• 22:09
Speaker 2: Thank you Andretti, thank you Formula One, thank you Cadillac.
• 22:12
  Speaker 1: Amen to that.
• 22:13
  Speaker 1: I'm excited.
• 22:14
  Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.
• 22:15
  Speaker 2: All right.
• 22:16
Speaker 1: Time now for this hour's car review.
• 22:18
Speaker 1: I had a chance to drive the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque.
• 22:24
Speaker 1: Final assembly location is Hailwood.
• 22:28
Speaker 1: The UK Comes in these trim levels only two s and dynamic se.
• 22:36
Speaker 1: I have the dynamic se.
• 22:37
Speaker 1: This is classified as a small suv.
• 22:40
Speaker 1: Seats five people, including the driver.
• 22:43
Speaker 1: All new in 2020.
• 22:44
Speaker 1: I didn't know that it was that old.
• 22:46
Speaker 1: Here we are, five years later.
• 22:49
Speaker 1: Okay, exterior features Simple, unique, attractive front fascia Love it.
• 22:56
  Speaker 1: High body.
• 22:58
Speaker 1: Short roof looks cool, but does limit headroom and visibility.
• 23:04
Speaker 1: Pronounced wheel arches give the body a taut look like somebody just kind of stretched the skin right over it.
• 23:12
Speaker 1: Small rear hatch opening.
• 23:15
Speaker 1: Pop-out door handles were kind of unique.
• 23:18
  Speaker 1: They were rectangles.
• 23:19
Speaker 1: I liked it what I did like overall.
• 23:22
Speaker 1: The overall look to me gets an A.
• 23:25
Speaker 1: Interior highlights this is a minimalist dash.
• 23:29
Speaker 1: It gives a sleek appearance, but it does have its drawbacks.
• 23:32
Speaker 1: Seating is comfortable with nice materials.
• 23:36
Speaker 1: A couple of steering wheel controls had me confused.
• 23:40
Speaker 1: For instance, what does the diamond mean?
• 23:42
Speaker 1: What does the O or zero mean on the button on the dash, on the steering wheel?
• 23:48
Speaker 1: Well, oops, now it, you'd think.
• 23:52
Speaker 1: But no, that's not it.
• 23:54
Speaker 1: One of them is actually a control that you can program whatever you want.
• 23:59
Speaker 1: You can make the button on the steering wheel whatever feature you want it to be.
• 24:06
Speaker 1: That's not already on there.
• 24:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, um, it looks, it looks.
• 24:15
Speaker 1: I don't know functionally it it.
• 24:19
Speaker 1: I need a couple more knobs and switches, but personally, uh, cargo trunk room small uh, and rear seats, uh, don't fold completely flat.
• 24:30
Speaker 1: What I liked about it?
• 24:32
Speaker 1: I did like the minimalist layout.
• 24:34
Speaker 1: It kind of reminds one of the space new spaceships that are going into orbit now.
• 24:40
Speaker 1: Um, that, uh, you know you get the inside of the cockpit, yeah, flat screen and they're laid back and they've got the screen there they just touch, touch the screen.
• 24:48
Speaker 2: That's what it kind of reminded me of, sort of like my.
• 24:50
Speaker 1: Buick Kind of, but a lot less knobs and switches.
• 24:56
Speaker 1: What could use improvement?
• 24:58
Speaker 1: Most controls are relegated to the infotainment screen or the steering wheel, which makes for extra unnecessary steps when looking for like, for instance, the HVAC controls.
• 25:12
Speaker 1: You got to go through screens to get to the HVAC controls.
• 25:15
Speaker 1: Some of you may like that.
• 25:17
Speaker 1: It was a little awkward for me, but I only got to drive it for a week.
• 25:22
Speaker 1: Two liter turbo, four cylinder, 246 horsepower, 269 pound feet of torque, nine speed automatic transmission.
• 25:29
Speaker 1: Tow rating almost 4000 pounds gas mileage 20 in the city, 27 on the highway for combined to 22 I got 24.6 miles per gallon over 356.8 miles.
• 25:43
Speaker 1: What I liked about it?
• 25:44
  Speaker 1: The mileage.
• 25:45
Speaker 1: What could use improvement?
• 25:46
Speaker 1: It's got a bit of turbo lag that you've got to be prepared for and ride and handling.
• 25:53
Speaker 1: I liked the quietness.
• 25:54
Speaker 1: Four bangers typically make a lot of noise.
• 25:58
Speaker 1: This one did not.
• 25:58
Speaker 1: I didn't take it off-road but based on its equipment, it should do well there.
• 26:05
Speaker 1: The other problem that I have with going back to the turbo lag in cars that have the start-stop feature, which this one has, typically you let your foot off of the brake and that starts the engine.
• 26:18
Speaker 1: Yes, not on this one, really, because it has a hold feature.
• 26:22
Speaker 1: So you let your foot off the brake and it does nothing, but it keeps the brake on the heel hold.
• 26:29
Speaker 1: Well, they don't call it that a hill hold or descent control, they don't call it that.
• 26:36
Speaker 1: Okay, so if you're stopped, let's say, for instance, at a stop sign right, and you're ready to go, and cars are going back and forth and you need to get across that intersection, you let your foot off the brake and the engine doesn't start until you hit the accelerator pedal.
• 26:51
Speaker 1: That's an added delay there that I found frightening actually, because you know, in this city, with all the traffic that we have, when there's a hole to get across the traffic, you jump on it, you jump on it.
• 27:04
Speaker 1: So the way I did it was I let my foot off the brake and then put my left foot on the brake, touch the accelerator pedal.
• 27:13
Speaker 1: Now the engine's running, I'm ready to go.
• 27:15
  Speaker 1: It's like a drag strip.
• 27:17
Speaker 1: Well you're a left-foot breaker anyway I am, but still you've got to get used to it, even if you're a left two-foot.
• 27:24
Speaker 1: They call that line lock.
• 27:27
Speaker 3: Well, pretty much yeah, but usually if you got a line lock, you got a button.
• 27:30
Speaker 3: Yeah, well, your button is the pedal.
• 27:32
  Speaker 1: Yeah, it's weird, it's different.
• 27:35
  Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
• 27:36
Speaker 1: All right, so base trim price $54,900.
• 27:39
Speaker 1: Price is tested $61,765.
• 27:41
Speaker 1: This is for a Land Rover Evoque rover evoke base model price 49.9, which competes with the bmw x1 for 40, 500, the acura rdx for 44, 7 and the genesis gv70 for 46, 2.
• 28:00
Speaker 1: Um, it's different, but I tell people all the time hey, you're talking American, german, asian, sweden.
• 28:12
Speaker 1: They all have their own little niche thing that they do.
• 28:15
Speaker 1: The cars are different, they drive differently, they feel differently and they work differently.
• 28:21
Speaker 1: So keep that in mind.
• 28:23
Speaker 1: If you're one of those kind of people that likes to shop around and maybe have a different car every year and I think I'm going to go Swedish this time Okay, meatballs.
• 28:32
Speaker 2: Meatballs who Dave Erndy?
• 28:34
Speaker 2: Uff, don't you know.
