- 0:59Welcome back, everybody. What are we at Episode 151?
- 1:0651. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:08And guess what? You're getting 2 episodes out
- 1:10within a week. And yeah.
- 1:15Is it? What?
- 1:17Is that 151 with the cardi? No, no, actually, I don't have
- 1:23that on Malibu. We're good.
- 1:25That's Malibu. Isn't Malibu 151 and pineapple
- 1:29juice? I've never seen a Malibu 151
- 1:31Bacardi yes and usually that that shot comes to you lit on
- 1:35fire, but you can see where we're going today.
- 1:42No no, we're not drinking. I think today is kind of we're
- 1:45just going to take a little bit of a go back through our
- 1:49listener questions and emails that we either haven't finished
- 1:52addressing or haven't addressed or haven't answered.
- 1:57And I apologize guys, because, you know, my life right now is
- 1:59crazy. And so, yeah, I actually got
- 2:03home in time today to actually do this.
- 2:07So here we are. And so how has your your, your
- 2:12time, your few days been there, Josh?
- 2:17That was, what, Thursday? Yeah.
- 2:20Pretty Thursday night, pretty Good Friday.
- 2:24I was dragging ass because some people whose names I won't
- 2:29mention kept me up way too late Thursday evening.
- 2:32Whatever, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 2:34How dare somebody didn't have to edit and upload either, so I
- 2:40don't want to hear it. Yeah, exactly.
- 2:44And had Thursday off. He had Thursday off.
- 2:47I I did, you're right, Friday night, Friday and Saturday were
- 2:52I had mic kind of days. I don't know for some of you
- 2:56older listeners out there, you catch that reference.
- 3:00I was done and home by what? What like 3:00 both days?
- 3:05I think. So that was a beautiful thing.
- 3:08Today. I just I really didn't do much,
- 3:10just chilled on the couch or on the front porch most of the day.
- 3:16Meow. How was your last few days?
- 3:19Hopefully better than the beginning of your week.
- 3:21Well, so Friday I had my I actually got my K day off
- 3:25thankfully nice and so I kind of went a little brain dead, which
- 3:31is good because I need a mental reset sometimes.
- 3:35Saturday was not fun. We got hit pretty hard with the
- 3:39Amazon parcels, which is a bittersweet almost like we it's
- 3:46good to have the increase back in some of our parcels, but I
- 3:50just wasn't expecting it so it was a little tiring.
- 3:54I broke 200 scans so there was that.
- 3:58And I had a WSH Mailer so that was a little rough there too.
- 4:04And I filed 2 grievances so been getting all that stuff situated
- 4:12just send to my steward. So there was that.
- 4:16And then today was Easter and just been hanging out with my
- 4:20kid today and trying to veg out but that is not the case.
- 4:25So how have you been, Kristen? Well, after the very late night
- 4:29Thursday and not being able to sleep, but I, I got up Friday
- 4:35all right and worked and then came home and then left and
- 4:41drove the 3 1/2 four hours to my mom's and hung out with my mom
- 4:47this weekend until I drove home this afternoon and got home
- 4:55about, I don't know, 4:45-ish. So it's it, it was an emotional
- 5:05weekend as it usually is when I'm down there.
- 5:06I just, I know it was coming to realize on my drive home.
- 5:11Since January 24th, I have been at my mom's every weekend except
- 5:18for my spring booster weekend. That was the only weekend I
- 5:21didn't go to my mom's and I was really trying to get out of
- 5:26going, but it didn't happen. So and I'll be going back down
- 5:33again Thursday after work because mom has some
- 5:36appointments coming up, but the end of the week and Friday and
- 5:40Monday. So I'm tired.
- 5:44That's just a normal. That's just a normal state for
- 5:47me anymore is tired. The insomnia is horrible, Yeah.
- 5:54And nothing seems to help it. So, you know, I deal with it.
- 5:59That's just how it is. I got to make sure, Oh yeah, you
- 6:03know, so I got to be to work on time Tuesday, Wednesday,
- 6:06Thursday, because I'm doing OJT with my new RCA for my row.
- 6:13So I got to make sure I get there on time, which is usually
- 6:17an issue for me, even though I live around the corner.
- 6:19It's again falling asleep then I'm not wanting to wake up in
- 6:24time, but Wednesday I have to get up extra early because my my
- 6:30puppy that we got back in November, my foster to adopt is
- 6:34getting his his neuter done Wednesday and I either have to
- 6:38be there by 4:00 PM Tuesday to drop him off which training a
- 6:44brand new RCA. I don't know if that's going to
- 6:46happen or not or he has to be there by 6:30 Wednesday morning
- 6:51and it's like a 3540 minute drive.
- 6:54So yeah. I, I I wish you luck on no mail
- 7:02Wednesday. And, and because of all the
- 7:07other Subs being scheduled on Wednesday, I mean, I'm used to
- 7:11when I'm training somebody new on my route, the last couple
- 7:14times that I've trained on my route, I mean, well, my old RCA,
- 7:19we didn't really have any other RC as in the office.
- 7:21So at that time that could help split the route.
- 7:25So I just did it all day every day, which was fine.
- 7:28If we were getting to be, oh, or, you know, we're, we're
- 7:32lagging behind and we just switched seats and I, you know,
- 7:35finish off the route quickly. And then before, when I was in
- 7:39RCA training somebody on the route and I was actually
- 7:42scheduled to cover the route those days, I just let him go
- 7:47and the same thing. All right, let's just you know,
- 7:50if we got a trade out, we will. If not, we're good, you know, so
- 7:54but Tuesday and Thursday I do have an RCA taking half the
- 7:58route for us. Wednesday I do not.
- 8:01So I'm just going to let him go and see how it goes.
- 8:06You know, if, if he wants to do the front half again on
- 8:10Wednesday and into the 2nd and into the back half, great.
- 8:16If he wants to wait and just ride along and then start the
- 8:19back half, we can do that. I don't care.
- 8:21However, you know, we, we'll, we'll work it out.
- 8:24We'll, we'll do it. And I'm just, you know, all
- 8:28about, you know, seeing what they can do.
- 8:30So it really just depends. So I'm hoping Thursday will be
- 8:33an easy day so we can get out and get back at a decent time.
- 8:38So I can head back down to my mom's Thursday, right?
- 8:43So yeah, that's, that's what I'm doing because I know tomorrow
- 8:47will be a 10/11 hour day as Mondays are for me.
- 8:50Been every Monday with the exception of one in the last
- 8:55couple months, I always break 200.
- 8:57I mean, I only had 216 this last Monday, but a couple Mondays ago
- 9:00I had like 244. So that's crazy.
- 9:05I know it is. I'm getting kind of, you know,
- 9:08Mondays are, well, they're Mondays, Mondays and day after
- 9:12Monday. Holidays are always fun, aren't
- 9:14they? Yeah.
- 9:16Oh yeah. Yeah, especially, you know, when
- 9:18my seasonals are starting to come back rapidly.
- 9:22The bulk of them will be back in May, but they're starting.
- 9:26I've got quite a few that have actually cancelled their their
- 9:29COAS early and coming back. So hey, I'm all about that.
- 9:33It's like to see my people again after they come back from
- 9:36wintering and warmer weather. But other than that, so we're
- 9:42going to go over. Yeah, we're going to do listener
- 9:44questions. I know we had that big long one
- 9:46a few weeks ago that we started in on.
- 9:49So I think we may finish that one up first.
- 9:52We've had a couple other ones that popped up.
- 9:55I know some of the questions on the big long one kind of tail
- 10:00into a recent question, what we had and have a couple other
- 10:04emails that I haven't been able to respond back to that we'll
- 10:08touch on here. So.
- 10:10So I'm going to go. Ahead, Josh.
- 10:13Since I have it up, I'm going to read this e-mail as it is, and
- 10:17if it's a question we've already answered, we don't have to go
- 10:21into detail. We can just say yes, no or
- 10:24other. Or are we?
- 10:25And then we'll move on to the next one.
- 10:27Yeah. Are we, you know, yes, and we've
- 10:30covered the details of it. Let's see.
- 10:35Well, you know, did we scan family?
- 10:37Our office has come up with some questions we were hoping you
- 10:41could answer on the pod to hopefully help us along with
- 10:46other carriers route questions. Can any carrier get trained to
- 10:51do mapping for the office? If so, can you explain the
- 10:55process? Do you get paid?
- 10:57We covered that one. Yeah, yes you can and we covered
- 11:01that. You know the how to The load
- 11:04truck feature is not available to the parent child routes after
- 11:09calling AMS. It only works in the office you
- 11:13start your day in. My route is rare and starts out
- 11:19with the little portion of my route first, then goes to the
- 11:22second office for my main volume of my route.
- 11:26I feel I'm missing out on this feature big time with getting
- 11:31100 plus packages a day. Will this ever change?
- 11:35So the load truck feature from my understanding isn't what is
- 11:41giving you the RX credit. Now the load truck feature can
- 11:46help you sequence the parcels, which is a good tool.
- 11:51But from my understanding of it, you, if you're, if you're
- 11:56worried about making sure your route is receiving the proper
- 12:01credit for all of the parcels that you are delivering, you can
- 12:06request from management the product tracking report so that
- 12:11it's or it's pack. I think it's a package tracking
- 12:15report and it will show you all of the parcels that you
- 12:20delivered for that day. You could also, you know, just
- 12:25for Peace of Mind, if you really wanted to, you could make
- 12:30yourself a little notebook and at the end of the day, you can
- 12:34go in and you can review how many parcel scans that you have.
- 12:41Now, keep in mind it'll have your certified on there as well.
- 12:47And you won't necessarily get to see which what you delivered to
- 12:50which location unless you really want to get real nitty gritty.
- 12:57With it, and you'd have to write down every single one before you
- 13:01switch. You'd have to look at it before
- 13:03you switch to the other zone and then at the end and subtract
- 13:08out. Yeah, you, you would have to
- 13:09look per zone, but even if you're wanting to just see the
- 13:13total, it'll show you the total with both zones.
- 13:18I know that I've looked at my and I, I've looked at my total
- 13:21after I've assisted on other routes.
- 13:24It's specifically one that's in a different zip code and it, it
- 13:28included both, both routes that I had my route and the route
- 13:34that I had assisted on. So if you're wanting to verify
- 13:39these sorts of things for Peace of Mind with RX management can
- 13:43provide you that one report. You can go to the to the review
- 13:48entries in the in the NDD and the in the scanner each day and
- 13:54just kind of keep a notebook for yourself.
- 13:56You can even write it on your trip sheet if you really wanted
- 13:59to. I know there's some people who
- 14:00have started doing that, but like I said again, just make
- 14:04sure that you realize like you, you had certifieds too.
- 14:08If you are somebody who does use the load truck feature and you
- 14:14are also reviewing your scans at the end of the day, just keep in
- 14:20mind you're going to need to divide that number most likely
- 14:23in half because it will pick up the scan from you low trucking
- 14:29it and from you delivering it. So some people I know, I've seen
- 14:35it, I've seen it where it said they delivered 400 parcels and
- 14:38it was like, no, you won't. You had 200 because you use low
- 14:41truck. Right.
- 14:43Well, and I don't know if they when she's saying the low truck
- 14:48feature, if she's also talking about the package look ahead
- 14:50which the two of them are tied together.
- 14:52Yeah. And I mean, I think that that's
- 14:54an unfortunate thing. I think there is, I mean, we
- 14:57could go on a whole rant about parent child routes in general.
- 15:00I mean there is. I've even still been digging and
- 15:05looking at different things for the parent child route
- 15:08specifically. And I think that the national
- 15:11like meet the Union's pretty well aware of those sorts of
- 15:15issues with it. But I, I, I would hope that they
- 15:22could fuse maybe the AMS edit books together or maybe there is
- 15:28a way that they could do one zone on one scanner and then for
- 15:32the, the child portion, then you have another scanner.
- 15:35And possibly, you know, that the tit for tat for both sides of
- 15:40it, because that might make it a little bit easier for, for
- 15:44people to keep track of, especially with, you know, then
- 15:48the, then the AMS edit book can get downloaded.
- 15:52The, the other thing that I, I am, and I'm not expert on this
- 15:57by any means. I know that there has been
- 15:59issues with the load truck in my office in the past and there was
- 16:08like a reboot and a new download that needed to happen on the
- 16:11docking stations for the scanners.
- 16:14And so they had to do like a manual like restart of all the
- 16:20scanners so that it would download the information again.
- 16:24And I don't know if it's something along those lines for
- 16:27it. That part I would have to get
- 16:31back with after I did some digging on that.
- 16:36All right. Can you explain in further
- 16:38detail interlock pouch high and Interlock pouch low?
- 16:42What qualifies the route, the high or low?
- 16:46There has been a lot of confusion on this in our office.
- 16:50I remember we talked about this. The main difference is if you
- 16:53need a conveyance to load and unload at the from one office to
- 16:59the other. Correct.
- 17:02And and the way that you change that is inside of DPM there is a
- 17:10one of the columns on the left hand side is about the lock
- 17:15pouch or I think it says what was it it says?
- 17:18Intermediate Office. Intermediate office, and that's
- 17:22the same thing as that lock pouch.
- 17:25So just use them interchangeably in that regard and it'll plot,
- 17:31It'll make you plot where the the intermediate office is and
- 17:37and confirm it in there. It will also show up on your
- 17:414241A and M on the, I believe it's on the right side of it.
- 17:50It has its own square and it'll have a time standard in there.
- 17:54I think it says like low or high and then it has the time
- 17:57standard for the week in there. Been trying to map for 2 1/2
- 18:01years and a couple times I got to the office my supervisor had
- 18:05everything already done and wouldn't let me look at
- 18:08anything. I know we talked about that.
- 18:12That's something a conversation with your steward or Rep.
- 18:15Yeah. And I'll just tell you like from
- 18:17from my own personal experience, I've been pretty thorough with
- 18:22my management that I need to be doing my mapping.
- 18:25I've actually even offered to become a mapping facilitator
- 18:27them because we're so the managers are just so short
- 18:31handed on stuff. And I just, I, I was the initial
- 18:35mapping facilitator for my office and on my most recent
- 18:40eval, I noticed that there is a March date on there and I know
- 18:44that I have not met my route and since the beginning of February
- 18:50that I was there. So I knew management went in
- 18:53there without me. I actually gave my managers a
- 18:57physical piece of paper that said I am requesting to map
- 19:02within the next few days that it was left open-ended, made them
- 19:06sign it. I kept the copy and I again
- 19:11asked them yesterday if I could map my route because I know that
- 19:15they went in there without me and they said I don't know when
- 19:19we can map. And I was like, I ended up
- 19:22filing your grievance because of it because I know that they went
- 19:25in there without me and I've given them the opportunity to
- 19:30let me sit down with them and go through it.
- 19:33And that's why I had my step one discussion.
- 19:37I gave them the opportunity to correct the situation and they
- 19:40didn't. So now I'm at grievance.
- 19:43Fast forward to now, we have new management.
- 19:46I tried scheduling mapping 7 times and she would cancel on me
- 19:51every time for various excuses. I told her I know my mapping is
- 19:55not right and I need to map for count is over or on filing.
- 20:01She finally asked if I could come in on a Saturday.
- 20:05Come to find out she has never done it before and didn't know
- 20:10how to do it. I was there for three hours and
- 20:13all we accomplished was putting in my 5 missing railroad
- 20:18crossings and 27 missing stop signs.
- 20:24I I would be filing for the sheer fact that management
- 20:30normally is twirling their thumbs during the day when
- 20:32carriers are gone anyway, so I'm not saying that they necessarily
- 20:35are, but I've heard many stories that they are.
- 20:38They could have time to sit down and watch that Zoom training
- 20:42video on how to map. And I you could also request
- 20:48that they give you AP day which means some they have a sub
- 20:52carrier route and you sit down with them for the day in front
- 20:57of the computer to do the mapping.
- 20:59And if you're coming and if you are coming in on your relief day
- 21:03to do the mapping, you are not doing that off the clock.
- 21:08That should be a DACA Y and that would give you an X day.
- 21:13Yes. The other thing too is that your
- 21:16managers can also contact their rule delivery support
- 21:20specialist. If they're also, they've looked
- 21:24at the training, they're still having issues with the mapping
- 21:27their rule. DSS can help them in their in
- 21:30the district. The other thing I would
- 21:32recommend for anybody who's listening to this and wants to
- 21:36educate themselves on the mapping so that you know that
- 21:39the managers aren't screwing it up is on the union website.
- 21:43There is step by step videos, there's PowerPoints on there
- 21:48that goes over the mapping so that you know that the manager,
- 21:53if the manager is pushing you and rushing you through things,
- 21:57then you at least have educated yourself to realize like, hey,
- 22:01there's something wrong. There's a red flag here.
- 22:03So I, I just seriously would encourage every single person
- 22:07should be knowledgeable with the mapping.
- 22:10Almost the same with management too, but that's a whole other
- 22:15thing. The other part of this from what
- 22:19she said that's also an alarm bell to me is that it sounds
- 22:22like the traffic control points that possibly her footage, the
- 22:28there's, it sounds like there's a lot of things that are in the
- 22:32mapping that could be potential issues.
- 22:35And I would recommend going through your 4241A and M and
- 22:41making sure that all of those things are correct to your
- 22:44route. And you possibly determining or
- 22:49you're going to need to determine if those things are
- 22:51correct. Like your hard items, like your
- 22:53CBU groupings, your traffic control points, your the stop
- 22:57sign sounds like they're good. But then the railroad crossings,
- 23:00but I don't know about stoplights.
- 23:03I don't know about footage. I don't know if, if all those
- 23:06things are are incorrect, then you would need to do a dispute
- 23:11for each of those items. And those are due on April 24th
- 23:15and that will be separate then the grievance, you'll still need
- 23:20to dispute those items to make sure that you're getting credit
- 23:24now for what you are owed. But the grievance would be
- 23:29taking care of the the immediate need for you to map and the
- 23:35future need that management needs to be doing this on a
- 23:37consistent basis and doing a schedule.
- 23:40Well, I think this next paragraph also ties into that
- 23:43what we just talked about. The plan was I was going to come
- 23:47back the following week and finish mapping and make sure all
- 23:51my addresses were correct and inactive were in and then in
- 23:58quotes active form. She of course cancelled on me
- 24:02and that was the week of court or of count.
- 24:05Monday after count she handed me a list of the inactive
- 24:10addresses. 64 addresses on that list are supposed to be active
- 24:15and marked as inactive. Why does the edit book not match
- 24:19up with the mapping? All these addresses are marked
- 24:23correctly in my edit book and are active in capitals boxes.
- 24:27Why would they show up as inactive on mapping?
- 24:31I told my postmaster this and she was going to ask around in
- 24:36quotes to see if she was doing something wrong.
- 24:41The first question is, did she actually hit download AMS
- 24:45download before they started the mapping?
- 24:47That's exactly what I was going to say too.
- 24:50Every time you go in, even if I know that my postmaster has gone
- 24:55in and downloaded all the new updates for AMS before I go in
- 25:00and map my route. And because I was trained to be
- 25:04a mapping facilitator from the beginning, I do my mapping on my
- 25:08own. I still when I go in there,
- 25:11regardless if she's already downloaded it, I still hit that
- 25:15download button. Yep, because.
- 25:19I would say the only, the only time I would not download is if
- 25:24I for whatever reason I started it this afternoon when I get
- 25:27back and for whatever reason we don't finish and tomorrow
- 25:32afternoon I go back in there to finish it up.
- 25:35I'm not gonna re download it. We're just gonna because it was
- 25:39downloaded yesterday. You're gonna keep continuing,
- 25:41yeah? I'm gonna, yeah, I'm gonna keep
- 25:43continuing and pick up where I left off.
- 25:46And then she followed up with Makes me sick knowing how much
- 25:51money I probably lost over the past three years.
- 25:54Lessons learned the hard way on the importance of mapping every
- 25:59month. 45 K before Rex, 43 J after the first RX built back up
- 26:06to 42 K and now can't seem to move up any further.
- 26:10Yes, I will, baby. It it also sounds like because
- 26:13of the fact that that manager didn't understand that it took
- 26:17her that long to even plot traffic control points that she
- 26:21really doesn't know to download the route.
- 26:24Like that manager is needs some educating some.
- 26:30Educating. Sounds like they skipped over
- 26:32the DPM and right went right to the LTM.
- 26:35Yeah, because they're probably on some list and then and like
- 26:38we're the the district was coming down hard and they're
- 26:42like, oh, we got to do this and not understanding the step by
- 26:45step process that they're supposed to do.
- 26:48You know, I, I honestly like, I still go back to the beginning
- 26:52of when we first went to start mapping and my postmaster at the
- 26:56time had was like, Oh, you guys need to focus on this.
- 27:01And just like ignored all the information regarding it.
- 27:05And I still like, I went back, I was like, no, every single
- 27:09manager in the office needs to know all of this because we're a
- 27:17rule route office. It's, it's like a, it's like I
- 27:21said before, like it's a living thing and you got to water it
- 27:26every month and you, you, it's just, you have to maintain it
- 27:32and the managers need to be educating themselves on it.
- 27:36But as AS rule carriers, go to the union website, watch the
- 27:40videos about DPM and LTM, the rule St. database information
- 27:45and educate yourself on that mapping.
- 27:49My edit book never matches up with my mapping.
- 27:51Addresses that should be active are being it are being inactive.
- 27:56How can this happen again? Sounds like they're not
- 27:59downloading the AMS edit book into the DPM program for any
- 28:05changes that might have happened.
- 28:07And if they are, then there's that's a whole another
- 28:12conversation and you might want to get your Rep involved so they
- 28:15can find out what's going on. Yeah, and and the AMS edit book
- 28:21gets downloaded into DPM, but if the if changes are made inside
- 28:26of DPM and they're they are not made in reverse.
- 28:31Yeah, it it's only a one way communication at this moment and
- 28:36I imagine that's for a while. That's just, it's how it's going
- 28:39to be because I mean, the antiquated software that the
- 28:43USPS uses. And that's only because I heard
- 28:47that AMS recently and I know I'm going a little off base here,
- 28:52but I know I've seen a lot of people complaining about new
- 28:55labels and the way that they've been printed out small, big, you
- 29:00know, funky, the edit sheets, completely different format now.
- 29:06That's because AMS just recently updated their software from
- 29:12Windows 98 and on to the rest of the and on to the rest of the
- 29:18e-mail. Yeah.
- 29:22All right, a route came up for a route came up forbid in our
- 29:27office recently and I noticed the mail volume for the for my
- 29:31route seems really low compared to everyone else's.
- 29:35It was the lowest out of all all the routes and there are three
- 29:39routes smaller than mine. Could this be because my mapping
- 29:44has been wrong for essentially the past three years?
- 29:49Possibly. I mean, there's, there could be
- 29:51a lot of different factors. It's, I mean it's, it's, there's
- 29:55a, there's a lot of you know, on a blanket statement without
- 30:00looking at all of the data information of each of the
- 30:03routes. I mean, you know, mine and, and
- 30:07Josh's routes are we deliver about 900 addresses, but the
- 30:12makeup of his route is different than mine.
- 30:16You know, I have, I have more dismounts than he does.
- 30:18And he has a large business that gets like a one stop drop.
- 30:22And we both have apartments though.
- 30:25You know, it's anybody, he's a 48K and I'm A45K.
- 30:29You know, it's just, it just depends on, on multiple things.
- 30:33But you it's, we go back to what are the things that you can
- 30:37control and it is the mapping and ensuring that you're doing
- 30:40the scans properly when you can and being the keeper of your
- 30:46route and maintaining those sorts of things.
- 30:49If, like I said before, if you go through your 4241A and M and
- 30:54you notice there's some things that are incorrect, there's
- 30:56certain things on there that are specifically corrected in the
- 31:00mapping. So it just, it, it, it could be
- 31:03different things. You know, you could have a
- 31:05curbside route and they, they maybe they're off of like by a
- 31:11golf course and they're mansions and they get like 10 magazines
- 31:17per customer versus like maybe a per day each customer versus
- 31:24like maybe a like low income apartment complex who barely get
- 31:30anything. They have a lot of insufficient
- 31:32addresses, but they barely get anything.
- 31:35So you know, it just, it just depends on the makeup of a
- 31:38route. Yeah, it does.
- 31:39And like going you know, and I'm in the middle between Josh and
- 31:43Meow, I'm a 46 K and I have 825 boxes, 713 are curbside, 112 are
- 31:51centralized CB us. I mean, my volume factor is only
- 31:561.46. My coverage of my regular boxes
- 32:00is 68% this last time around and my central coverage is pretty
- 32:04much still the same at 43%, but I'm a 46 K So yeah, there's a
- 32:08lot of different variances that could go into that mail volume
- 32:12wise customers, I mean that that's really.
- 32:15Parcels, Yeah, yeah. Yeah, like my route a little
- 32:21under 1000 boxes. I have 6 businesses, sorry, 7
- 32:25businesses about 250 curbside and the rest is CB us, whether
- 32:33it be townhouses, condos, apartments, you know, and what
- 32:371234 different complexes you know.
- 32:41And as mail said, I have one, I have one business where I I drop
- 32:46it at the back door and there's sometimes their letter mail is
- 32:49more than my DPS count for the day.
- 32:54So it it all depends on what what you're getting for
- 32:59individual volume for your route versus the rest of the, you
- 33:03know, the other routes mapping could play into that.
- 33:08If you have a lot of boxes that says are inactive, that should
- 33:12be active might affect that some, but there's multiple
- 33:16things. All right, then I'm going to
- 33:18read the next two together, which were the two we talked
- 33:21about before we started recording.
- 33:25We've been told anyone can put up a box as long as they put up
- 33:30a box on our line of travel. The problem we are running into
- 33:34is people who are eligible for a free PO Box are on ebooks.
- 33:40The system is flagged, the system is flagging it and will
- 33:44not let them forward the their PO Box to the street address.
- 33:49We were then told to fill out form 4027 with the postmaster
- 33:56who then send it to the POOM to approve.
- 34:00Then sent to AMS to remove from ebooks and put in edit book.
- 34:06We tried this once and never heard back.
- 34:09Postmaster kept saying they never heard anything.
- 34:13Back to the point it just fizzled out.
- 34:16Has anyone done this before? Are we doing something wrong?
- 34:20That's the first part. The second part is we have a
- 34:24route that drives right past the business on their Direct Line of
- 34:29travel who does several package pickups a week who is on the 777
- 34:35list and we cannot get it fixed to where they are on the route.
- 34:41Actually they have several addresses on the 777 list that
- 34:46should not be. There are even addresses from
- 34:51completely other towns on the 777 list.
- 34:55Any ideas on how to fix this? AMS told us to fill out that
- 35:004027 form, but nothing happens. And before you guys get into
- 35:05this, I know a lot of people are going to be like what's the 777
- 35:09list? So the one and two of you want.
- 35:11To. I got it right here.
- 35:13Explain that all. Right the 777 list.
- 35:17The UPS has recently clarified the meaning of a carrier route
- 35:20R777, also known as a phantom route.
- 35:24This code is used to flag physical addresses that exist
- 35:29but are not eligible for delivery.
- 35:32As straightforward as this may seem, these results do not
- 35:35follow the traditional guidelines used to identify
- 35:37undeliverable addresses, causing some confusion.
- 35:41With that said, let's see. Undeliverable addresses are
- 35:44currently identified. This has to do with the software
- 35:47stuff. It could be if the delivery
- 35:50points empty or the DPV confirmation is set to end and
- 35:53it's likely undeliverable. It's worth noting.
- 35:57Meaning the address is in a valid range but has not been
- 36:01assigned to a specific plus 4 zip code +4 or delivery point.
- 36:08The difference with these carrier route R77 returns is
- 36:11that they populate a return code field with a thread.
- 36:15Goes into technical language that none of us would understand
- 36:18anyways. Basically has to do with the zip
- 36:21coding from what it looks like it's not it always it's not
- 36:26receiving the 9 digit zip code. This is the way the records are
- 36:31marked in the Cass data. So yeah, that's address
- 36:37resolution system. So yeah, that's definitely
- 36:40having to do the 4027. If people are don't know what a
- 36:434027 is, that is the petition to for change in a role delivery,
- 36:48whether they're looking for an extension or in this case going
- 36:54from ebooks to St. delivery or even the phantom 777 to show up
- 37:02in edit books for in in delivery and what not.
- 37:06The 4027 is the form that gets filled out with all the
- 37:09information name of out of family.
- 37:14Number of pieces of mail delivered Average distance from
- 37:17the nearest rural route highway contractor out post office
- 37:21office through which the service is now received.
- 37:24If it's could be you know if you might be one of those that's on
- 37:28a border of a couple different offices type things.
- 37:31They want one address as another or again this in this instance
- 37:35would be going from the ebooks to St. delivery.
- 37:40And basically that's the form that needs to get approved
- 37:43through management and work its way down so.
- 37:46Go up and then back down. Yeah, yeah.
- 37:50I would only my only follow up question in regards to this is
- 37:54for that business with the pickup, how is that pickup being
- 37:58handled now? Yeah, that would.
- 38:00Is that something that that carrier is picking up themselves
- 38:05or is that on a collection route or I know in my case?
- 38:10Are they taking it to the post office and dropping it at the
- 38:13back door? Yeah, or.
- 38:15If it's that large. Yeah.
- 38:17I mean, we have a couple businesses in town.
- 38:20They have, I know the one that would be on my route if they had
- 38:23St. delivery at they have APO box, our dispatch truck to say
- 38:29it easily. Actually before they come to the
- 38:32office, as they're coming up through town, before they go to
- 38:35the next office and make their way back, they actually stop and
- 38:38do the pickups. At least I know the one location
- 38:41that I pass by because I can gauge my time on what if I'm
- 38:45going to make the dispatch truck or not, If I see them at the at
- 38:50the business picking up. So, and that was something that
- 38:53was arranged many years ago by a former postmaster.
- 38:56But yeah, my thing is, is how is how is those packages getting
- 39:00picked up? Now?
- 39:01I definitely agree with that question.
- 39:03I mean, if, if the carrier on that route is the one picking
- 39:06them up, then yeah, they need to be on the horn.
- 39:08And again, if this is something that needs to get higher
- 39:11attention, then definitely be contacting.
- 39:14I would go to an ADRDR on it. Yeah.
- 39:18And then when we were discussing it earlier, like you said now,
- 39:21now earlier, I wouldn't you know, attempt delivering any of
- 39:26that now or doing that pick up if they're not in your edit book
- 39:30because you're not going to get credit for it.
- 39:32Yeah, everything needs to be properly credited in the edit
- 39:36book and established that way to establish the delivery, to
- 39:40establish the mapping, to establish the plot points so
- 39:44that the route is receiving credit.
- 39:46And if it's not, then that means that you're not receiving
- 39:50credit. So verifying those other pieces
- 39:54in place first are important. All right.
- 39:57Last question on this, Josh. The very last one, and I believe
- 40:03we touched on it, but I don't. I think we went into detail but
- 40:07I don't remember. Do you get, do you get the same
- 40:11amount of credit doing package pick up regardless of having the
- 40:15package pick up sheet or scan sheet or not?
- 40:19I pick up packages daily for a business and he doesn't want to
- 40:24do it online because as orders come in throughout the day, he
- 40:29adds, he adds them to the outgoing tub that I pick up.
- 40:34He said if he does it online he has to put a number of packages
- 40:39in and it changes so much that he would excuse me.
- 40:45He would rather me scan every package.
- 40:49I don't mind either way, but my postmaster told me I'm not
- 40:54getting the proper credit for package pickups doing it this
- 40:58way and we were look we looked it up and I think we.
- 41:03I was gonna read it real quick. OK, alright.
- 41:08In the Rex Comprehensive Guide on Under Carrier Pickup page 79,
- 41:15the time standards for carrier pickup begin in the office with
- 41:20S026 Process Carrier Pickup event forms for carrier pickup
- 41:25request forms received by the carrier.
- 41:27The route is credited with .114 minutes or 6.84 seconds to
- 41:34handle and verify the form. The route will also be credited
- 41:37with the driving speed. Time and walking speed is
- 41:40appropriate for the address where the pickup occurs.
- 41:43Again, that goes back into your DPM mapping.
- 41:45For the driving and walking carrier, pick up a prepaid event
- 41:50includes the following actions and it is credited at 1.187
- 41:54minutes for each event. One check parcel manifest.
- 41:59Again this is the form. The carrier will retrieve the
- 42:01marker if applicable from their mail tray indicating an upcoming
- 42:04pickup 2. The carrier will locate,
- 42:07retrieve the pickup notification if provided to the carrier from
- 42:11its storage location and read the information provided before
- 42:14returning it to the storage location.
- 42:17Three, attempt to get attention. When appropriate, the carrier
- 42:20may lightly tap their horn to signal arrival at the customer's
- 42:22location. Again, this is the step by steps
- 42:24for the carrier pickup. For in cab activities, the
- 42:28carrier will follow the appropriate process for parking
- 42:31the vehicle in preparation for Exit 5.
- 42:33The carrier will retrieve the scanner and a copy of the thank
- 42:37you letter from its storage location.
- 42:39Though I never have seen a thank you letter but anyways. 6 The
- 42:44carrier will exit the vehicle to go to the pickup .7 manifest
- 42:48notification. The carrier will count the
- 42:50number of parcels and verify this against the pickup
- 42:52notification. 8 The carrier will scan the barcode and the pickup
- 42:56notification and make the appropriate selections for the
- 42:59shipment complete. 9 the carrier will look for customers form
- 43:035630 and again complete the scanner options for the
- 43:07shipment. Complete the customers 5630 is
- 43:10the manifest if they have one. 10 The carrier will leave the
- 43:14customer's Form 5630 and the thank you letter at the pickup
- 43:18location. Again, I have never seen a thank
- 43:20you letter. 11 In cab activity, the carrier will return to the
- 43:24vehicle and either enter the cab no parcel or small enough to
- 43:28Stow in the cab area or first go to the rear of the vehicle to
- 43:30Stow a large parcel parcels before entering the cab. 12 The
- 43:35carrier will then follow the appropriate steps to continue
- 43:37the route if the carrier's required to scan the manifest.
- 43:40PS-5630, the time standard. Is. 6.06 seconds per piece
- 43:48scanned No no and then following and then the next one.
- 43:52Carrier pickup items and prepaid parcels over 2 lbs.
- 43:55The carrier pickup entry on the MDD is used to indicate a
- 44:00carrier pickup event and to indicate the total number of
- 44:03pieces collected. The panel mandated this method
- 44:05to ensure all CPU events are captured and because the Postal
- 44:09Service may change the number of pieces required to be scanned at
- 44:12each carrier pickup, ensure the carrier is credited with the
- 44:14correct number of pieces and scans each day, regardless
- 44:18whether there is a manifest issued.
- 44:20Carriers are credited with each item picked up as part of the
- 44:23carrier pickup event and each prepaid item over 2 lbs.
- 44:27In the same manner, Carrier pickup and prepaid items is
- 44:31credited at 9.55 seconds per piece and includes the following
- 44:36tasks. The carrier visually inspect
- 44:37each item, weight, labeling, postage, etcetera.
- 44:40Carrier will scan each item's barcode if applicable.
- 44:44The carrier will check the customs forms for proper
- 44:46completion and apply a DDD2 customs label for any
- 44:50international parcels that are not properly documented.
- 44:53The carrier will return to the vehicle with the appropriate
- 44:56items set aside Any rejected items at the vehicle.
- 44:59The carrier will load the items as follows.
- 45:01Through the cab, small items, through the rear door, large
- 45:04items in addition to the SO46 for each piece the route is
- 45:09credited with. The standard is 6.06 seconds per
- 45:15piece for either the manifest as above or the first piece
- 45:19scanned. If no manifest is utilized and
- 45:23it's applied. The S 071 partial scan is
- 45:26applied to any additional pieces scanned after the manifest or
- 45:29first piece. This credit is 1.34 seconds per
- 45:32piece. So basically if you're not
- 45:34getting the 5630 from the the prompt that you oh, hey, you
- 45:39have a package pick up at this address form that management
- 45:43comes around and gives you, you're really just losing out on
- 45:46that 6.84 seconds of have of handling that in the office from
- 45:52what I am. Reading which which boils down
- 45:55to 40 seconds a week if you do it six days a week.
- 46:00The, the other part to add is I know that the manager is saying
- 46:05that you're not receiving the the proper credit.
- 46:07You are. But the other thing that you can
- 46:11do is, you know, do everything that Kristen said, but when you
- 46:15return to the office and you're on that return to DU time and
- 46:18you're unloading those parcels, you can also hit prepaid
- 46:22acceptance and scan the remaining parcels other than the
- 46:25five initial ones that you had scanned so that the customer
- 46:29knows that the parcels made it to the delivery unit or to the
- 46:34office to go out for a shipment. And when you're on return to DU
- 46:39time, you're getting actual credit for handling those
- 46:41parcels and putting them in the location.
- 46:44So that's the only thing at all I'd add to it.
- 46:46But other than that, like you're just not getting credit for
- 46:50handling a piece of paper and scan.
- 46:54They follow that up with Thank you for taking the time to read
- 46:57the this e-mail. We all love the podcast and all
- 47:01the great information you guys put out.
- 47:03And we just want to say, and I, I hope I'm speaking for the two
- 47:06of you. Thank you and we appreciate you
- 47:10listening. Absolutely.
- 47:13Woohoo, woohoo. All right, so we finally got
- 47:16through that big long one, that one.
- 47:18Jumbo One. Yeah, on March 10th I had
- 47:22another. Apologize about the delay.
- 47:24Yeah, my life's been crazy guys, and it's just going to get
- 47:28crazy. It's just how it's going to be.
- 47:31I had another one that came in on March 19th.
- 47:33I had started to reply and then I didn't because I don't know
- 47:37what was going on at that time. But March 19th, it's hard to
- 47:41say. It was probably half asleep.
- 47:44Says I have a question. Can an RCA be scheduled to other
- 47:48offices? If a regular requested off
- 47:52management denied a carrier leave because our CAS were
- 47:55scheduled in other offices, isn't the Home Office supposed
- 47:58to take priority? What can be done?
- 48:02They can schedule them in other offices whether or not they.
- 48:09I'll let you take this one meow. I know I'm like processing here
- 48:14too, so it depends on when the leave was submitted from another
- 48:20office. Versus when the schedule went
- 48:24up. Yes.
- 48:26So if the RCA is already slated for this other office within 50
- 48:32miles, then yes. But in the same breath, then
- 48:39that also opens up that management should be looking at
- 48:45other Rcas within a 50 mile radius for approving your leave.
- 48:51So if management's going to use the Rcas from there, then they
- 48:56also need from your office for another office's leave, then
- 49:00they need to be doing the exact same thing for your office as
- 49:05well. And if it just depends on who
- 49:13submitted the leave first, if management already created the
- 49:15schedule, if you know, if, if there's another RCA available
- 49:20within 50 miles, you know, there's different situational
- 49:23things along those lines. If you think that there is an
- 49:28issue with it, then you should be contacting your steward and
- 49:31possibly filing your grievance if if you're if you're
- 49:34conflicted in there. But technically, yeah, the the
- 49:38RCA is now considered unavailable.
- 49:42The other thing they can do is they can have the RCA's if
- 49:47they're scheduled on an OX route, they can also, I hate to
- 49:53say this, the RCA's that are on an OX route can be utilized in
- 49:58another office after completing their OX route within 50 miles.
- 50:05They just cannot exceed over 12 hours and with two assignments.
- 50:11So I mean 50 mile rule says regular routes.
- 50:15So that that term like you might be on a 2 hour baby ox route and
- 50:21now you got a sub available. So there's there's different
- 50:25situational things that management can look into to
- 50:28accommodate for the leave. And like I said, if they're
- 50:33doing it for another office and they should be doing it for you
- 50:36as well. And I tell me if you disagree on
- 50:39this, I would argue that the commute time to and from your
- 50:44office to the other office should be included in that 12
- 50:47hours. Yes, but I think that the Step 4
- 50:50settlements don't, I don't know if they if they specifically say
- 50:54that, but I do agree with you that like, hey, I need the
- 50:59energy I have for for exceeding that 12 hours because you're
- 51:02getting compensated to go over there.
- 51:05Now, if you're an office that has different stations, that
- 51:10that's a whole different story if you guys are under 1
- 51:13postmaster. So that's another layer to this.
- 51:17If you, if you're all under 1 postmaster, all under 1
- 51:20seniority list with, you know, three stations under that,
- 51:25that's a whole nother situation. Three how cute, sorry or what?
- 51:33I said 3. How cute.
- 51:36Yeah, I know. So I hey, I was going to say 2.
- 51:39All right, We're going to cover the last e-mail and then we'll
- 51:43jump back to that question we had on Spotify that came
- 51:48through. Yeah.
- 51:49But then it ties into the first e-mail.
- 51:51But this one we could probably fairly answer fairly quickly.
- 51:56This came in on Tuesday, March 24th.
- 51:59Can you cover route consolidation Section 12.5 Point
- 52:04B of the National Agreement, particularly in offices with at
- 52:08least one vacant route and route evaluations below 47 standard
- 52:13hours? Route consult.
- 52:16OK, So all right, hold on. Let me.
- 52:19Let me were you 12? What?
- 52:21My brain, my brain is also like mental.
- 52:25My file cabinets and my brain are all opening right now 12.5.
- 52:30Point B 12.5 Point. 212, 12/5 OK.
- 52:36B as in boy. And it's and it was specifically
- 52:39talking about the routes that are.
- 52:41Substandard below 47 standard hours.
- 52:45OK, which hold on 47. Because we're all opening up the
- 52:51tabs, yeah. Or grabbing my phone.
- 52:54I want to visually look at it before.
- 52:56It's safe but pooped in front of me.
- 52:59Oh, I have it on my phone. It lives right there on my home
- 53:02screen. It was open to other stuff.
- 53:06Oh, it was open to EMA because I was looking at the EMA stuff
- 53:08earlier. You said specifically routes
- 53:11that are below 47. 47 standard hours.
- 53:15All right, 40 A40K is 47, starts at 4724.
- 53:22OK, All right, so and then you and then they asked about 12
- 53:27what? 1212. 12.
- 53:29Five BG. 12B as in boy? OK. 5.
- 53:34Route Consolidations. OK, well and then.
- 53:38Well, and it also ties into the stuff ahead of it too.
- 53:43So, So all right, first situational thing here.
- 53:47You have a route that goes vacant inside of a zone and
- 53:52management, there's also contractual language not in this
- 53:57section, but let's say that management decided that they
- 54:02didn't want to post the route up forbid and they were going to
- 54:07dissolve the route and and use it to put into all the other
- 54:11routes. Management has to notify the
- 54:14union and do it within 60 days of the route going vacant.
- 54:19And if they need more time, they have to provide the union with
- 54:24that. We have not seen that situation
- 54:26happening very often lately because since RX.
- 54:30But management does have the ability if they choose to, to
- 54:35build routes up with that, which I have seen happen in the old
- 54:41mail count system. But currently right now the only
- 54:45contractual language that we have is, is that part of it.
- 54:50Now if a route, which is the part that's above this section
- 54:56in the contract, if a route is substandard and let's say that
- 55:01it is below 35 standard hours and it has been this way for a
- 55:09period of two years, then management will convert the
- 55:16route to an auxiliary route. Because now it is, it is, it is
- 55:21way under the table and it's it's way even under than what an
- 55:25ox route has to be to become. Now again, like I said,
- 55:30management has the choice in whether or not they want to
- 55:34dissolve an ox route and build your routes back up.
- 55:37But there is no obligation currently for that.
- 55:42And I could foresee some of that changing, but I'd like to use an
- 55:51example of this. We have a route that's a 2 hour
- 55:53baby ox route in my office. And we have been trying to get
- 56:00the district and my office and the post office to put the two
- 56:05hour baby ox route back on the other route.
- 56:08That's because it's only a two row route zip code.
- 56:12We're trying to get them to put that 2 hour baby ox route back
- 56:14on the route that it we used to be on, but she was a 47 K and
- 56:21that was like when we first got Amazon busted, they created the
- 56:25Sox route, but now she's gone down and this thing's barely a 2
- 56:28hour ox route. Like it's at like 11 hours for
- 56:31the week. So we're like just put it back
- 56:33on there. But there is cost analysis,
- 56:36things that the Postal Service does when they're doing route
- 56:39adjustments. And I think that their primary
- 56:42goal was focusing on the routes that are overburdened and going
- 56:48through that process. And now because we still have
- 56:52some overburdened routes, I think after they are done with
- 56:56that, then I think they're going to be turning their sights on
- 57:01possibly building some of those routes back up and giving them
- 57:06the ability to adjust. But I, I guess, don't hold your
- 57:12breath. We had a route that was a 25 H
- 57:21and it stayed that way for two years and then the route finally
- 57:27went vacant. Thankfully somebody took one for
- 57:30the team. Well, actually what the carrier
- 57:33ended up going into management so the route finally became
- 57:36vacant and we were like don't post it.
- 57:40And then when they did route adjustments, they actually
- 57:43merged the 2 OX routes together and created a full size route,
- 57:48again thankfully. So they have different abilities
- 57:52to do these things. It's just a matter of the
- 57:55timeline for them to do them and management has to make that
- 57:59decision in that 60 day window if a route is going vacant to do
- 58:04that. Now, I've seen paperwork that
- 58:08says that the goal is for most of the routes to be 43 case.
- 58:13That's like the sweet spot from what it looks like to me.
- 58:18That's what the language has said before.
- 58:20Now I in a perfect world, I wish that the the supervisors could
- 58:27square everybody up and probably make everybody equal, but it's
- 58:31not just as easy as snapping your fingers and squaring
- 58:37everything up. If your office has an
- 58:40overburdened route, that is typically where the managers are
- 58:44looking to build back up the other routes and or possibly
- 58:47creating an ox route. It just depends on the situation
- 58:50of the office. So but but keeping in mind that
- 58:54like 60 day rule and knowing if management is going to choose to
- 58:59dissolve a route, they have to dissolve it 100%.
- 59:02If management is choosing to dissolve a route and there is an
- 59:07ox route in the office, they have to dissolve both 100% and I
- 59:12can't remember exactly where it states that, but it says it.
- 59:17But you know, there's different territorial things that they're
- 59:21going to have to do. If management is adjusting 1
- 59:25route in a zip code and they're moving territory through, they
- 59:29have to leave them at the same base hour of what they're at or
- 59:33increase it. They cannot take away and not
- 59:36give them anything back to the minute.
- 59:39And if I were you, again, like I've said before, double check,
- 59:42verify, make sure all that stuff's good.
- 59:45But there's a lot of possibilities of things that
- 59:47could happen. And I think that there's people
- 59:50who have now gone down and possibly, you know, there's
- 59:53routes that are frozen. There's a lot of different
- 59:56scenarios out there in the field of things that could happen.
- 59:59And I think we're just kind of waiting to see because we're
- 1:00:02this we if there were one day into the new evals and things
- 1:00:07could change over the next few weeks.
- 1:00:09No, I just looking at 12 B. If you look at 12 B2, I'm
- 1:00:16thinking they might have had a typo and then 37 hours because
- 1:00:21it's that says consolidations of encumbered routes currently
- 1:00:26evaluating to less than 37 standard hours may be made if
- 1:00:32this causes an accessing situation which is not
- 1:00:36eliminated by bidding. I'm sorry, I'm using my phone
- 1:00:41because I don't know where my bifocals are.
- 1:00:44By bidding in accordance with Articles 123C1, reassignments
- 1:00:51will be made to offices with world vacancies in accordance
- 1:00:56with articles 125A1. So I'm not sure if that's what
- 1:01:01they were speaking about. OK.
- 1:01:04So in the situation in the situation where a route has been
- 1:01:10considered substandard for more than two years and the route
- 1:01:14wasn't vacant, then what'll happen is that a regular will
- 1:01:19become an unassigned regular and any route that becomes opened
- 1:01:25within a 50 mile radius that becomes vacant that they'll be
- 1:01:30reassigned. So typically when a route goes
- 1:01:33up forbid and there's a pre award process, one of the
- 1:01:37criterias in the pre award process is seeing if there is a
- 1:01:41excess rule carrier who's displaced due to due to certain
- 1:01:46situations and that is what the rule carrier will get.
- 1:01:51Now that rule carrier, that doesn't mean that they're just
- 1:01:54in exile for the rest of their life.
- 1:01:57It would also I I believe it would be the junior regular so
- 1:02:04there would be a shift in bidding and the junior regular
- 1:02:09either has the option to go back to be a it could become APTF
- 1:02:16provided there is 2K routes available or they're going to
- 1:02:19get whatever is leftover within a 50 mile radius.
- 1:02:22Now they also have retreat rights.
- 1:02:25So when another route becomes available again in their home,
- 1:02:29in their home Home Office, then they most likely will will be
- 1:02:34able to bid and and come back that way.
- 1:02:37So that's a situation that could happen.
- 1:02:41I had to look it up a while ago because of like I said, we had a
- 1:02:4525-H in my office and it was, I think it went down, it was like
- 1:02:50a 26 H and I think it finally and then it went down to a 25-H.
- 1:02:55It was brutal. So but the goal and I think that
- 1:03:00that's why we have that contractual language about
- 1:03:03management having the ability to post, either post the route or
- 1:03:07do a route adjustment with it and dissolve it is because you
- 1:03:12don't want that to happen. You don't want excess rule
- 1:03:15carriers and we shouldn't necessarily be like money
- 1:03:20grubbing and wanting to like dismantle everybody's routes
- 1:03:24either, You know, I don't ever want to see anybody displaced,
- 1:03:28you know, but it is a reality. And I think more about that sort
- 1:03:33of stuff happened as a result of DPS implementation and as a
- 1:03:41result of FSS implementation too.
- 1:03:44And I'd have to kind of go and research more of that again.
- 1:03:48But if management was wise and like let's say the office has a
- 1:03:54bunch of H routes and and like maybe 1 overburdened or one of
- 1:04:01the H routes come becomes vacant, then they should
- 1:04:04probably try and ask and hold it off so that they can dissolve it
- 1:04:09and put it into the other H routes.
- 1:04:11I would think. I mean, logistically speaking,
- 1:04:14like there's different and like I said, there's a cost analysis
- 1:04:17and there's different situations that they're going to have to
- 1:04:19look at with it. But if it wasn't a typo and it
- 1:04:23is 47 standard hours, which is roughly a 40K, they're not going
- 1:04:28to try and build those up because they're already #1
- 1:04:31they're already AK route or a 40 hour K route.
- 1:04:35So and as you know it is, it was already stated earlier going
- 1:04:40through with this right now districts are looking at the
- 1:04:45overburden routes as far as I know when it comes to any
- 1:04:48consolidation of anything that is pretty much off the table
- 1:04:53until the route cuts are fully complete across the country and
- 1:04:57fully implemented. And that being said, the
- 1:05:01adjustments are being assigned by higher headquarters in
- 1:05:07Washington DC. Yes, they're the ones that make
- 1:05:10the list and are sending it down to the different areas and
- 1:05:13districts to let them know which routes will be cut when.
- 1:05:19Well, and originally there was like 25,000 overburden routes or
- 1:05:2422,000 I want to say. And now we're down to 6200.
- 1:05:29So they might get it, they might get through it before October
- 1:05:32now. So we'll, we'll see what they
- 1:05:35end up doing. Oh well, they'll still be a few
- 1:05:39because there's some sorts of agents where they can't.
- 1:05:42Yeah. But the most?
- 1:05:43Part there you know that then that was you know initially with
- 1:05:47the seasonal wear outs and stuff and but even some of those at
- 1:05:51this point in time may still get the whack it yeah I mean that's
- 1:05:56something we don't know obviously for sure what you know
- 1:05:59how they're going to do it what what you know which ones that
- 1:06:03are off the table or whatnot cause.
- 1:06:06Well I would say for example my route the only reason I didn't
- 1:06:10get cut last year when the rest of my when the the other zip
- 1:06:14code of my station and the rest of my office as a whole got cut
- 1:06:20is I have 3 routes in my zone. I was the only one overburdened
- 1:06:25at the time. I don't have enough to cut to
- 1:06:28make an ox route and they couldn't put it on either the
- 1:06:31other two. Yeah, but but then.
- 1:06:33The same breath. There we had we had a, we had a
- 1:06:37two, we had a one rule around zip code.
- 1:06:40She was a 47 K. They barely had enough to cut
- 1:06:44her. They created the two hour baby
- 1:06:46ox route and it's still not at 2 hours.
- 1:06:49It's under a but they're going to pay him two hours and it
- 1:06:52still exists because the contract says if you're a 47 or
- 1:06:5648 K, you can be cut. So I mean, we could see like
- 1:07:01they could, they could decide right now is the time that the
- 1:07:03hammer's coming down and it's done and then they're going to
- 1:07:06go back. And then but, but typically, I
- 1:07:09mean, the zones that had some of these substandard routes you
- 1:07:13have, you could have enough territory in those overburn
- 1:07:16routes to build them back up, which we've had like in two of
- 1:07:20my zip codes over here, we have that ability.
- 1:07:22And thankfully, because one of the routes was like at 35 O
- 1:07:27five, it was like 5 minutes away from being a substate, like a
- 1:07:30true substandard route. And they built it up, back up
- 1:07:34with one of the 48 KS and now it's AJ.
- 1:07:37So with growth, it just depends and like, we'll just have to
- 1:07:42wait and see what's going to go on.
- 1:07:43But like if you're a 47 or A48K, you just should know that
- 1:07:49management could cut you and could there's contractually can
- 1:07:54they can cut you? Yep.
- 1:07:56Right. All right, And so a comment that
- 1:08:00popped up on Spotify 2 days ago going back to parent child
- 1:08:04routes, please go down again, which none of us have.
- 1:08:10So you know, we, we're, we're not speaking from personal
- 1:08:13experience. I personally have never ran one.
- 1:08:17I so I do not know first hand knowledge.
- 1:08:23Please go over how we do end of shift duties at second office in
- 1:08:27parent child routes that bounces back and forth zip codes.
- 1:08:31How are we getting credit for this?
- 1:08:33How do we record this? Fixing case labels, edit books,
- 1:08:37changes, etcetera. So one of the things that I did,
- 1:08:41I, I tried to look up some information about this a little
- 1:08:44bit and you just have to get really, really meta with it too.
- 1:08:50So the handling of the mail like let's say your soup from there
- 1:08:57the believe it was the PO6O3 states that for the intermediate
- 1:09:04office or the with the parent child route, you would take that
- 1:09:08mail with you to the Home Office and handle it on that return to
- 1:09:13DU time at your Home Office. So you would be getting credit
- 1:09:17for it there. Now the other part with case
- 1:09:21labels and that sort of thing, from my understanding of it, it
- 1:09:29looks like it would be miscellaneous time during the
- 1:09:33mini mail survey. Now I don't like that.
- 1:09:36Like I don't like that answer. Even me saying it, I'm like, I
- 1:09:40wish there was a miscellaneous time scan in the scanner, but
- 1:09:43there's not. But the other thing you could do
- 1:09:48is possibly prepare some of them on return to DU time at your
- 1:09:55Home Office. You could also ask management if
- 1:10:02you can go back to that office while you're on return to the EU
- 1:10:06time and do the case labels then and then you when you finally
- 1:10:11return to the Home Office, you clock out and you do that.
- 1:10:16That could also be a solution for it, but if management isn't
- 1:10:22willing to try to troubleshoot it and get you the credit that
- 1:10:29you're owed for those activities, then you need to be
- 1:10:33calling your union steward because you, you, there's
- 1:10:36something's got to give there. But the best one would probably
- 1:10:42be you being on return to the EU time at your Home Office and
- 1:10:47driving over there and then coming back.
- 1:10:49I could see them doing that because then you're at least
- 1:10:51getting, you know, the credit to go there.
- 1:10:54And I mean, it's not going to be a frequent thing, but I could
- 1:10:58see, you know, every once in a while, little things like that.
- 1:11:03I could see somebody trying to say load time, but I don't think
- 1:11:05that that's accurate per RX because it's not you technically
- 1:11:10loading. But yeah, that's probably that.
- 1:11:15The other thing I would do with the, what was it the parent
- 1:11:18child? And again, like I said, the mail
- 1:11:21would be handled at your Home Office and then you would return
- 1:11:25it to the other one. Now I would also make sure that
- 1:11:28you have your inner unit. What is it?
- 1:11:33The inner unit, post office, the lock pouch stuff.
- 1:11:37So there's probably going to be some of that that should be
- 1:11:40credited. I don't think it would be.
- 1:11:43Was it NPU, non personnel unit? I don't know if that.
- 1:11:47Yeah, 'cause I know. Yeah, in mapping wise, it's
- 1:11:51still under intermediate office, whether it's high, low.
- 1:11:55Yeah. And I would make sure that
- 1:11:57that's plotted correctly. It should be in your line of
- 1:12:00travel, but like you would plot it there and I'm assuming the
- 1:12:06mail, you're not bringing the mail with you.
- 1:12:08The mail's already at that other office.
- 1:12:11It just depends on the situation of the.
- 1:12:13Area, Yeah, I have no clue. I mean, you would think, and
- 1:12:17this is just my wholehearted opinion, completely my opinion,
- 1:12:22nobody else's, that you know, when you have offices that have
- 1:12:26numerous zip codes in them and then you have these parent child
- 1:12:31routes that have intermediate offices where they have to go
- 1:12:33case up the mail for the other zip code at the other office.
- 1:12:37Wouldn't there be a way, and wouldn't it be more cost
- 1:12:40effective to have that part of the route brought into the main
- 1:12:46office and cased up as one route in all the mail delivered to
- 1:12:52that office as one route? Wouldn't that be a solution for
- 1:12:57some of these parent child routes?
- 1:12:59Yeah, I mean it, it would and I think, but but I think that some
- 1:13:03of it is the way that the distribution zip code truck
- 1:13:08because it might be an intermediate office that only
- 1:13:11has one rule route and it's all city or its PO Boxes.
- 1:13:16And it's. Probably a.
- 1:13:18Contractor that's dropping off the mail to that office for that
- 1:13:22for for that route as opposed to coming on the big truck at the
- 1:13:27main office or however it's done.
- 1:13:29I get that I I do just because. We have smaller.
- 1:13:34Offices in our area. I mean, I went and helped out
- 1:13:36one office back into my RCA days whose mail didn't come from the
- 1:13:41truck. You know, the mail got dropped
- 1:13:43off at another office and a contractor came with their van
- 1:13:46and grabbed the mail for these smaller offices and dropped them
- 1:13:49off. So I mean, I get that.
- 1:13:52But to me, I, I would think with all the issues, especially with
- 1:13:56RX coming in with, with that we've had with these parent
- 1:14:00child routes, to me figuring out a system and a way to just have
- 1:14:04them all under one roof, it seemed to me like I would now be
- 1:14:08more efficient, but more cost effective and a lot easier on
- 1:14:12the carriers. But again, that's my opinion.
- 1:14:15Yeah. And the other part of it too
- 1:14:17that's really interesting to me is like I was saying about that
- 1:14:21one route that became overburdened and they created
- 1:14:23that 2 hour baby ox route. We almost had a parent child
- 1:14:27route here and my district specifically said we will not
- 1:14:31create any more 2 zip code. It was called like it was 2 Kip.
- 1:14:362 zip code routes is what they called it.
- 1:14:39And I kind of foresee that maybe being a thing too.
- 1:14:42But I know that there's already routes out there.
- 1:14:45There's a lot that exists that are those parent child routes.
- 1:14:48And honestly, like, that's probably like one of the worst
- 1:14:53things with RX. I.
- 1:14:54Agree. Like those are the people.
- 1:14:55That, yeah, it just seems to be vision.
- 1:14:59Go ahead, Josh, I would. Say I, I agree with what you're
- 1:15:04saying in your opinion. However, as you mentioned
- 1:15:07earlier with one of the other questions, we were talking about
- 1:15:10the antiquated systems that the Postal Service uses right now.
- 1:15:17They probably can't merge more than one ZIP code at a time.
- 1:15:22Yeah. I mean to me.
- 1:15:24So they have. To run each each individual zip,
- 1:15:27yes, you could potentially put it in the edit book and put it
- 1:15:32it's going to kick it back because it's not the same zip
- 1:15:34code. Potentially that's one two,
- 1:15:39you're talking DPS now or AMS flats.
- 1:15:44But any working mall, any working mail, raw or otherwise,
- 1:15:50is going to be sent to that other office anyway because of
- 1:15:53the zip code. The the difference in zip code.
- 1:15:57No, I see what you're saying it. Yeah, definitely, you know, but
- 1:16:00that's again like I said, that was my opinion on how to me
- 1:16:05would be, you know, down the road possibly more cost
- 1:16:09effective. But then again, it may not be,
- 1:16:11you know, and if you're going to that or all their office to case
- 1:16:15up the mail means, you know, that's a second set of labels is
- 1:16:18the second edit book. So yeah, you want to get credit
- 1:16:21for doing those properly. And yeah, parent child routes
- 1:16:26right now are are a headache. They are.
- 1:16:31I mean, and that's the number one questions I've seen across,
- 1:16:36especially with the implementation of our Rex is the
- 1:16:39parent child routes because I think those are suffering more
- 1:16:42than anybody any other route because of the of the so many
- 1:16:47different variables to deal with them and getting the proper
- 1:16:50credits to handle essentially two different routes, even
- 1:16:54though it's all one fun times. Oh, I know.
- 1:16:59Wait a minute. Was that one say oh, that.
- 1:17:01Was yeah, I mean that's. The cost of service also OK.
- 1:17:04If the Postal Service is able to, to do some of the SNDC stuff
- 1:17:10and shift zip code distribution that way there, there's got to
- 1:17:14be a way for them to, to fix that situation.
- 1:17:18You know, and I, I'm not, I know that there's antiquated
- 1:17:20software, but we're not necessarily asking them to
- 1:17:23rezone a zip code. I mean, they, they could, that
- 1:17:27might be a solution that, you know, maybe you we, this is
- 1:17:32crazy. They changed the zip codes in
- 1:17:34some areas. We actually had a route in my
- 1:17:38old office that was technically could have been a parent child
- 1:17:46route, but the way this route was put together was it's all
- 1:17:50one route. If you wanted St. delivery, you
- 1:17:53had the main city zip code address.
- 1:17:58If you wanted APO box and it was an RMPO that just had PO Boxes
- 1:18:04and you wanted APO box near your house closer than you had the
- 1:18:10other zip code and and and town address for the PO Box.
- 1:18:16But if you wanted St. delivery, you were Gaylord.
- 1:18:19If you wanted PO Box, you were Waters.
- 1:18:21And yeah, I mean, I delivered that route so I understand how
- 1:18:25that one worked. It it just weird on how that you
- 1:18:29know what I'm saying? Yeah.
- 1:18:31Yeah. Yeah, and there's different
- 1:18:33situations for them, the real true, true rule.
- 1:18:37And I, I, I wish I would, I would, I could see, you know,
- 1:18:42that routes evaluation, but it's like it's confusing.
- 1:18:46It's like it, it confuses us. And we, you know, we try and
- 1:18:51educate ourselves with it too. So like I could only imagine, I
- 1:18:55just you, you got to be in communication with, with your
- 1:18:58union steward for a lot of it and and you got to try and keep
- 1:19:02as much data that you have. And, and I think even on this
- 1:19:06level, especially with parent child routes, you're better off.
- 1:19:09I mean, if you you know, going to, if you have a local steward,
- 1:19:12yeah, definitely ask them. But I think it might be
- 1:19:14something that still may be out of the scope of their realm and
- 1:19:17going up to your ADRDR even. Yeah, because they're going to
- 1:19:22have a little bit more knowledge on this type of stuff than what
- 1:19:27the local steward would have. Yeah.
- 1:19:30And if that don't work, well, then you just take it up the
- 1:19:32chain anyways. But yeah, parent child routes
- 1:19:36are really they're they're a headache.
- 1:19:39I mean, not just for the carriers that are running them
- 1:19:41now under wrecks, but for people that are even trying to, you
- 1:19:44know, with questions and like, how am I supposed to get credit
- 1:19:46for this? Because obviously management
- 1:19:48doesn't even understand it either.
- 1:19:50And which you don't not going to expect them to anyways.
- 1:19:54But yeah, it's getting the proper credits for parent child
- 1:19:58routes is it's still one of those variables that I don't
- 1:20:03think anybody really has a true, true answer for even going all
- 1:20:08the way up the chain of command. I mean, in the past, I know at
- 1:20:13conferences and conventions when questions come about with child
- 1:20:16parent routes, it's still. Well, it should be done this
- 1:20:20way, but yeah, they're working on it, yeah.
- 1:20:25Well, and some of them are there's, there's so many
- 1:20:28different, there's the RMPOS, there's the NPU, the non
- 1:20:34personnel units, there's like lock pouches or or just the
- 1:20:41inner intermediate office part of it too.
- 1:20:45And some routes have multiple of those situations, some have
- 1:20:50none. Yeah.
- 1:20:51We we've got, you know. 2 routes in our office that that have and
- 1:20:55they're two different zip codes and they're two different zip
- 1:20:57codes away from our main zip code and you know they're both
- 1:21:01lock pouches where they take the PO Box mail and they drop it off
- 1:21:06during their route yeah I mean so though that part I understand
- 1:21:10because I've personally, you know done that yeah but as a but
- 1:21:16with the parent child routes again, I personally don't have
- 1:21:19an experience with it and I'm pretty sure neither one of you
- 1:21:22guys do either so. Yeah, no, not parent child.
- 1:21:26Yeah, the PO. Box intermediate stuff.
- 1:21:28Yeah, that I have experience with, but not the actual parent
- 1:21:32child routes. And the only route I know of in
- 1:21:35the area that would be considered like a parent child
- 1:21:40route, it's actually in out of another office and it's actually
- 1:21:45a highway contract route that covers two different zip codes.
- 1:21:49And so that, you know, isn't even, yeah, I, I, it's not even
- 1:21:52a carrier that I could, you know, call up and say, hey,
- 1:21:56because it's a highway contract route.
- 1:21:57So that is completely out of our scope.
- 1:22:00Of Hwy. contract, yeah. That's a that's a whole another
- 1:22:04beast. Yeah.
- 1:22:05And I know that one's like 100 and 3500.
- 1:22:10It's ridiculous how many miles long it is.
- 1:22:12And you know, it's it, it they they case up, you know, they
- 1:22:17come out of one office, yet they deliver mail out of two other
- 1:22:23zip codes and have to stop. I don't even know.
- 1:22:25I think they stop out of the think they stop at the two other
- 1:22:29offices. I'm not quite sure.
- 1:22:30I could be wrong. I know they stop at one of them.
- 1:22:33But yeah, it, it's, it's crazy. But again, highway contract
- 1:22:38completely out of our scope and you know, but.
- 1:22:42Yeah, you imagine that having to go to two different offices
- 1:22:46other than your Home Office. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:22:51That just as a whole nother can of worms.
- 1:22:55Yeah, exactly. Hence probably why it's a
- 1:22:57highway contract. Yeah.
- 1:23:01So all right guys, anything else for tonight?
- 1:23:04Otherwise, we're going to wrap this puppy up.
- 1:23:07I was just going to ask. I was just going to ask if there
- 1:23:09was any any others? Nope, I pretty much I went
- 1:23:13through it. I haven't logged on to the other
- 1:23:14platforms to see if there was questions on there, but I know
- 1:23:18that one popped out and I checked the e-mail routinely.
- 1:23:21So again, guys, if you send an e-mail and you don't get a
- 1:23:25response right away, life is crazy for me, as everybody
- 1:23:29knows. And you know if if we.
- 1:23:33If you were the best you can. I am, I am.
- 1:23:36And if they're really good questions, I tend to try and,
- 1:23:40you know, share them with the other two here and say, all
- 1:23:43right. And we know if it's something
- 1:23:44that we're going to cover on air or if it's something that we can
- 1:23:48just type up and reply. Even if one types up the answer
- 1:23:51and I copy and paste it to reply, I mean it, you know, we,
- 1:23:55we do what we can. We're just carriers.
- 1:23:58That's all we are. We're just carriers that are
- 1:24:01trying to help the rest of our carriers family and you know.
- 1:24:07For entertainment. Yes, for yeah, we, we try to be
- 1:24:11entertaining too. We try.
- 1:24:18So, you know, that's just, you know, the main goal is to help
- 1:24:21in whatever way we can without getting in trouble as much.
- 1:24:26But you know it happens once in a while.
- 1:24:31Are you not entertained? I are not.
- 1:24:37I don't like mud slinging, so I don't, I, I try not to sling.
- 1:24:40We, we don't sling mud. We don't, you know, it's like,
- 1:24:43hey, here's this question. This is what we looked up.
- 1:24:46This is where we found it. You know, if you have any
- 1:24:50further questions, we highly recommend that you reach out to
- 1:24:54your reps. That's what they're there for.
- 1:24:56Yep, that's what they're supposed to be there for.
- 1:25:00And you know, and if it's a question, they may not know the
- 1:25:02answer, they have a chain of command to go up and find it
- 1:25:05too. So that's, you know, I highly
- 1:25:08recommend, you know, following the chain if you can.
- 1:25:12And if you're not getting the answers out of 1, you know, move
- 1:25:15on up the line. I mean, definitely, you know, I
- 1:25:17don't mind having questions come at us.
- 1:25:19We, we, we don't mind at all. And we try to at least point you
- 1:25:23in that right direction. I mean, to find those and to get
- 1:25:26those answers and to help you and to make things life easier
- 1:25:30for you. Your route, your office, you
- 1:25:33know, it's none of our offices are perfect.
- 1:25:35I mean, there's some Unicorn offices out there.
- 1:25:38I've had Unicorn management in the past.
- 1:25:41I wish I still I I missed that. Yeah, I really do.
- 1:25:46But you know, it's we're just carriers trying to help carriers
- 1:25:51and go from there. So.
- 1:25:54But all right, your final words for tonight, Josh.
- 1:25:58The weather's starting to change.
- 1:25:59It's still ugly and nasty in some areas and warm and
- 1:26:05intolerable in others. Hydrate, wear layers if need be.
- 1:26:11Do what you got to do. Don't get overwhelmed, at least
- 1:26:16try not to. But if you do, take a step back,
- 1:26:19take a deep breath and step back in.
- 1:26:22Have a good week, we'll catch you as soon as we can.
- 1:26:26Meow well. Thank you guys I hope that
- 1:26:29helped those people and others. What was I going to say?
- 1:26:33Oh my God, sorry I'm tired it's been a long day.
- 1:26:37I was like all sugared up on the candy with my kid but now I'm
- 1:26:40like crashing. But my parting words today, make
- 1:26:44sure that your contact information and your address for
- 1:26:50the Postal Service and for the union are up to date.
- 1:26:55And if they're not, go on the light blue and change your
- 1:26:59address on there. If your address is incorrect
- 1:27:03with the union, please contact your state secretary, treasurer
- 1:27:06and update that stuff that you can find their contact
- 1:27:10information on the union website.
- 1:27:13And just so that you know that you're getting all of your
- 1:27:17ballot information for national delegates, your magazines,
- 1:27:22you'll be notified for for union meetings, all those sorts of
- 1:27:27things so that it's not getting returned to sender and you're
- 1:27:31receiving everything you should be receiving.
- 1:27:33But have a good week, everybody. I'm glad that we got we got two
- 1:27:37out here. So talk to you all's later.
- 1:27:40So Kristen. Yes, thank you guys.
- 1:27:43And part of the, you know, we did this one tonight because I
- 1:27:47will not be available next weekend as I will be at mom's.
- 1:27:51And next Sunday, I'm actually going to a concert too.
- 1:27:53So, but I'll be a be a mom. I, I'm, you know, I'm still
- 1:28:00trying to do my normal stuff that I do for me and, and the
- 1:28:05stuff, you know, union stuff as well.
- 1:28:08It's difficult at times, but I, I'm trying to figure out a way
- 1:28:12to make it all work, you know, go in it with Josh speaking
- 1:28:16about the weather being crazy. You know, I went down to mom's
- 1:28:20and if anybody know Midwest or would consider what like a
- 1:28:23Michigan basement is, it's not a finished basement.
- 1:28:27I mean, there's, but my parents basement actually has two small
- 1:28:32rooms that used to be coal rooms from when the old original
- 1:28:36furnace was coal before it switched over to natural gas.
- 1:28:41And Saturday morning I had to print out a return label for
- 1:28:46Amazon for my daughter and I ran down to look for packaging tape
- 1:28:51and discovered water on the basement floor, which I can't
- 1:28:56remember in the 45 years that my parents had this House of having
- 1:29:02water on the floor from rain. No sump pump.
- 1:29:07This house is well over 100 years old, approaching 150 ish.
- 1:29:11So I was glad I went down there and yeah, that was my Saturday
- 1:29:19of luckily wasn't too bad and I was able to move the things I
- 1:29:26had to move. And my dad was an avid model car
- 1:29:33collector and builder. He won awards back in the day
- 1:29:37going to the county fairs. I mean, very, very detailed,
- 1:29:40right down to the wires and the engines and paint booths and
- 1:29:44everything. And the one room that had some
- 1:29:48water on the floor also had just the carpet that was put over the
- 1:29:51cement. And most of everything was
- 1:29:54raised a little bit off the floor.
- 1:29:56But I had four stacks, 4 stacks of car models that were directly
- 1:29:59on the floor. So I'm going into instant mode
- 1:30:02of Oh my gosh, thank God these ones on the bottom are still
- 1:30:05wrapped in plastic. So I could relocate these four
- 1:30:08stacks and try and clean up water between shop vac and
- 1:30:11carpet cleaner, extractor and dehumidifier and fans.
- 1:30:16And yeah, that was it. Lots of flooding in Central
- 1:30:22Michigan this past weekend, South Central.
- 1:30:25So yeah, definitely take care. I mean, especially if you're in
- 1:30:30areas that were affected like that, you know, there's many
- 1:30:33sinkholes and roads washed out and flooding and whatnot.
- 1:30:37And so just be observant of that.
- 1:30:41Don't try to drive through standing water on a road because
- 1:30:45you really don't know how deep that's going to be, especially
- 1:30:49in government vehicles and PO VS you know, you don't want to risk
- 1:30:54that and you don't want to risk, you know, sinkholes because you
- 1:30:56don't know you could have standing water and it could be
- 1:30:58washed away underneath. You don't know.
- 1:31:01Or it could be. Or it could be so weak if you
- 1:31:03tried to drive through it, a sinkhole opens up.
- 1:31:06So please, you know, be very vigilant on that, especially if
- 1:31:10you're in areas affected by that and, you know, just, you know,
- 1:31:16take care of yourself out there for sure.
- 1:31:19Yeah. Those weather is crazy still.
- 1:31:22Snow in areas. Torrential rain.
- 1:31:25I mean there was some tornado warnings and and watches in
- 1:31:30areas. It's just it, it's springtime.
- 1:31:34It's that transition period where you never know what Mother
- 1:31:38Nature's going to throw at you from one minute to the next.
- 1:31:41So, you know, just take care of yourself.
- 1:31:44Don't do anything that's going to put yourself into danger when
- 1:31:49you're out on the road and you know, safety is your call.
- 1:31:54Once you hit that street, that safety is your call.
- 1:31:57So if you're not feeling safe, there's no way to go around.
- 1:32:01You know, you don't have a way that you could deviate around
- 1:32:05standing water or Rd. wash out. You know that.
- 1:32:09Just remember that that's your call on that.
- 1:32:12So you do what you got to do to take care of yourself and be
- 1:32:17safe when you're out there. You know, the mail, it can
- 1:32:20always be delivered on another day if necessary or finding a
- 1:32:24different route or way to get stuff.
- 1:32:26I know with some of these roll routes that may be difficult to
- 1:32:28do so. But on that note, guys, we are.
- 1:32:34Yeah, it'll probably be a couple more weeks before we put out
- 1:32:36another episode, so take care of yourself.
- 1:32:40And again, disputes are due by the 24th of April.
- 1:32:45And we will. We'll talk with you next time.
- 1:32:50Bye.
