- 0:00Speaker 1: What up, y'all? It's your boy, Kevon State. Tony Baker.
- 0:02Speaker 1: Welcome to the Ball Brothers Podcast, where me and my
- 0:05Speaker 1: friend Tony come and.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Talk about stuff.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Stuff.
- 0:09Speaker 2: That stuff changes, but the friendship remains.
- 0:12Speaker 1: The same. Today, we talking lanterns. Season finale. Yeah. Episode eight. Yeah.
- 0:20Speaker 1: We ain't talk about it, Tone. Initial thoughts. How'd you
- 0:23Speaker 1: feel overall?
- 0:24Speaker 3: I was surprised it was limited actions.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I don't think they had the bread, man.
- 0:29Speaker 1: HBO also told y'all y'all got five things. Watch, one.
- 0:37Speaker 2: That mine thing that he built, that's two and three.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Bird, four. You got one more. The ring's on 5%.
- 0:48Speaker 1: The whole budget was on 5%. The ring got to
- 0:51Speaker 1: have a charge. You can't make no stuff. Make it enough.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Talk to your family on the phone instead of us
- 0:57Speaker 4: hiring the actors to do the scene with.
- 0:59Speaker 1: That's why his family was on the phone all the time.
- 1:02Speaker 1: We don't want to see them. They stole 5%. Hey,
- 1:05Speaker 1: you think we could use the Green Lantern?
- 1:07Speaker 4: No.
- 1:08Speaker 1: They didn't even show you what he made when he
- 1:09Speaker 1: saved himself in episode one. What'd you build? A bubble thing.
- 1:13Speaker 1: All right, I believe you. Car crash weekend. Ain't no green.
- 1:18Speaker 1: They did.
- 1:19Speaker 3: They was cutting corners.
- 1:21Speaker 1: You better have a green crayon.
- 1:23Speaker 4: They was like, we got money for one big episode.
- 1:26Speaker 4: And that was like episode five. Whenever it went down
- 1:29Speaker 4: in town.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Alien lasers, all that. They blew the whole load.
- 1:33Speaker 4: They was like, we got $ 7, 000 for the rest of
- 1:36Speaker 4: these three episodes.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Hologram. This all y'all got. He can go where he
- 1:41Speaker 1: can come in. Y'all ain't building nothing. Make it enough.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Who was that? Smokey's mom? Yeah. Friday? That's who was
- 1:48Speaker 1: in charge of the budget for Lantern. She was on
- 1:50Speaker 1: the couch. Maybe y'all think we.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Could make it enough. She was on the phone, too.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yes, I did. We was hoping. We wanted to use
- 1:59Speaker 1: the Lantern. Y'all ain't even going to get the suit.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I gave y'all the money. How about this? Jon Stewart
- 2:04Speaker 1: ain't even wearing the suit.
- 2:05Speaker 4: He had on a leather jacket and flew off as
- 2:08Speaker 4: the next hero.
- 2:10Speaker 1: He had on his regular suit. Outfit. Stonic boom.
- 2:14Speaker 4: He was like, this is it. I'm the new hero, y'all.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Where your costume at? I'm the new hero, y'all. Green
- 2:20Speaker 4: Lantern's remix. This new oath was fire, though.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it was great.
- 2:26Speaker 3: But they was like, all right, we got money to
- 2:29Speaker 3: write the new oath.
- 2:29Speaker 1: You got the clothes from Zara. The Green Lantern costume
- 2:34Speaker 1: from Zara. H & M. Go down to them Sears
- 2:37Speaker 1: and pick you out a shirt.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Only reason Guy had his costume is because it was
- 2:41Speaker 4: left over from the Superman movie.
- 2:42Speaker 1: What? He need a refit. Steal the ring and steal
- 2:46Speaker 1: that costume from the wardrobe department.
- 2:48Speaker 4: It was like, hey, Superman.
- 2:51Speaker 3: People, can we borrow Guy Gardner's outfit?
- 2:54Speaker 1: We over here shooting lanterns. What?
- 2:56Speaker 4: It's kind of like Green Lantern. He was like in
- 2:58Speaker 4: the Justice League. He know Superman in the comics. Can
- 3:01Speaker 4: we just borrow that costume?
- 3:03Speaker 1: Come on, y'all. Come on. Man.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Charge the ring up. We got budget for one visual charger.
- 3:11Speaker 4: He was carrying that thing around.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Man, charge it.
- 3:14Speaker 3: He was like, nah, man. Yo, if you don't put
- 3:16Speaker 3: your goddamn ring on that charger.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I'm so sick of them saying. He said, we got
- 3:20Speaker 1: probably like seven minutes left in the ring. Y'all been
- 3:22Speaker 1: saying the ring off 5% for four days. Plug it up.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Where's the Green Lantern? You need to go to the
- 3:32Speaker 1: Hudson News in LAX. You need a Green Lantern, a
- 3:35Speaker 1: little MagSafe charger. Give me a little, just get me
- 3:38Speaker 1: from 5 to 20 so I can make something. They said, nah,
- 3:42Speaker 1: we ain't got it. We don't know how good the
- 3:44Speaker 1: show is. And next season, they better up it. Oh, yeah.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Because they did the money, man. And I wasn't one
- 3:49Speaker 1: of the people complaining about. I loved it. I loved
- 3:51Speaker 1: the series. They said it's true detective, man.
- 3:53Speaker 4: I loved the series. I love what they did here.
- 3:56Speaker 4: I'm just being silly right now. But even though the
- 4:00Speaker 4: episode didn't have action, I feel like they closed up
- 4:04Speaker 4: all the strands they had left. They tied everything up.
- 4:08Speaker 1: They used the money from the suit to give to
- 4:10Speaker 1: the white girl. They could have got three more green
- 4:13Speaker 1: things or some chars. I didn't like that she got paid.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I liked it. I'm going to tell you why. Tell
- 4:18Speaker 1: me why.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Because I think most people don't like it.
- 4:20Speaker 1: But tell me. Good old extortion. I agree. But here's
- 4:25Speaker 1: my thing. I think it boils down to who Jon
- 4:29Speaker 1: Stewart is as a person. I don't think he had to. No,
- 4:35Speaker 1: he didn't have to. He solved the murder. Nothing was
- 4:37Speaker 1: going to happen to him. I think he knew. He
- 4:39Speaker 1: gave her the watch. I think he just felt this
- 4:42Speaker 1: is the right thing to do. That was integrity to me.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Because based on what happened to.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Her as a child.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Based on what happened.
- 4:48Speaker 4: We caused you.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Pain, suffering.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I don't owe you nothing.
- 4:54Speaker 1: That's true. But I feel you. Yeah. I didn't even
- 4:59Speaker 1: think about it like that. I feel you. Yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 2: But I understand, as a black person, it's also like,
- 5:04Speaker 2: come on, man.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Nigga make Hal pay it.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Sell that mansion he has.
- 5:09Speaker 1: He broke the shit. Sell the mansion. He had that mansion.
- 5:12Speaker 1: He didn't have that mansion. Something in the escrow. Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 1: The state of Hal Jordan.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Get into the weeds of all the aliens dead.
- 5:18Speaker 1: And he was dead. I feel that. You know what
- 5:21Speaker 1: I'm saying? Jon Stewart.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I saw you there.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Cash. I want the money. But I think it made
- 5:25Speaker 1: the point of who Jon Stewart was. Yeah.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Because, you know, integrity is what you do when nobody's looking.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Right. He could.
- 5:32Speaker 2: She had nothing on him.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Right. She had nothing. The nigga you gonna tell is
- 5:36Speaker 1: the one who killed Hal Jordan. You gonna tell the sheriff?
- 5:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Hey, man, he punched him. What? Did the sheriff turn
- 5:42Speaker 1: himself in?
- 5:43Speaker 4: No.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Because a white woman gets away with everything. A white
- 5:48Speaker 2: woman can.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Kill a man in broad daylight, cry a little bit.
- 5:54Speaker 1: I'm going to turn myself in. She knew she wasn't
- 5:56Speaker 1: going to turn her in. Of course the white woman
- 5:57Speaker 1: got away with murder. She gets to get away with murder.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Keep your son who's going to try and murder the world.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Let me tell you what. Noah coming back for death.
- 6:08Speaker 1: I don't know what y'all say. He coming back. He
- 6:10Speaker 1: coming back. And y'all could have stopped him. He's a
- 6:12Speaker 1: school shooter. And she knew about it. He got some powers.
- 6:18Speaker 1: But whiteness, whiteness. She gets to get away with literal murder.
- 6:23Speaker 4: She murdered Hal Jordan.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Shot him in the head. Also, how did Hal Jordan
- 6:28Speaker 2: fall like that?
- 6:28Speaker 1: He just sat down. You don't, that ain't how you,
- 6:32Speaker 1: you get shot with a gun.
- 6:35Speaker 3: We don't know that for sure.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I'm telling you, watch Forensic Files, man. Have all them
- 6:39Speaker 1: Forensic Files you ever seen?
- 6:40Speaker 3: I've never seen them get knocked, blown back.
- 6:43Speaker 1: But I think just the bullet, the velocity of the
- 6:49Speaker 1: bullet Because we've seen movies before where somebody got a
- 6:52Speaker 1: headshot and they were just like pow.
- 6:54Speaker 4: And they just kind of.
- 6:55Speaker 1: If they were sitting though?
- 6:56Speaker 4: I've seen movies where they literally, they're standing up. They
- 7:00Speaker 4: get hit and they just do this. And then they drop.
- 7:03Speaker 4: I've seen that.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Or like, you know, a headshot from a sniper. They
- 7:07Speaker 4: rarely just blow back.
- 7:09Speaker 1: But she shot him from close.
- 7:12Speaker 3: She did.
- 7:12Speaker 1: He was standing up. She shot him and he head
- 7:15Speaker 1: back and then sat. He never even fell over. He
- 7:18Speaker 1: sat smooth. Yeah, he was like. I've never seen that before.
- 7:22Speaker 1: And they didn't even bust out the back of the head,
- 7:23Speaker 1: or they just didn't show us. I was expecting a
- 7:26Speaker 1: six-cent head. Yeah, was the bullet still in his hand?
- 7:30Speaker 2: It couldn't have been from that angle.
- 7:32Speaker 1: She was close range. She was close range. She got
- 7:35Speaker 1: away with murder, though.
- 7:36Speaker 2: She got away with murder because she's white.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I ain't seen no black people in Rushville until it
- 7:43Speaker 1: was time for a football game, by the way. Yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 1: All the blacks in Rushville played corner, running back. I said, oh, oh.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I don't remember. If you saw some black people, let
- 7:52Speaker 1: me know.
- 7:52Speaker 4: I don't even remember seeing them at the game.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Oh, they was on that football team.
- 7:55Speaker 3: But that's how it is in the small town.
- 7:58Speaker 1: There's seven blacks.
- 7:58Speaker 4: The cafe, nothing.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Seven blacks.
- 8:01Speaker 1: But that wide receiver, hey, lineup, corner.
- 8:05Speaker 3: That's believable, though.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I know.
- 8:06Speaker 4: If it's a small country town, you just going to see, oh,
- 8:10Speaker 4: there's black people here.
- 8:11Speaker 3: You got to look at the football and basketball team.
- 8:13Speaker 2: But their parents ain't never getting nothing to eat down
- 8:15Speaker 2: at the cafe?
- 8:15Speaker 1: That's true. Best garlic bread in western Nebraska? Nobody's eating it?
- 8:19Speaker 1: Two counties over, man. We got the best chili this
- 8:22Speaker 1: side of the Mississippi. And how good is garlic bread
- 8:24Speaker 1: if it's just the best in western Nebraska? I would
- 8:27Speaker 1: rather have Texas toast. I literally would rather go to Rouse. Oh,
- 8:32Speaker 1: my God. That's the best garlic bread in western Nebraska?
- 8:35Speaker 1: Give me Texas toast and put that in the oven
- 8:38Speaker 1: and call it a day. That garlic bread probably was trashed. Hey, man,
- 8:43Speaker 1: I had me some garlic bread. Where? Hey, man, western Nebraska. Eastern? No,
- 8:49Speaker 1: just two counties.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Two counties, man. It's the best of two counties. I
- 8:55Speaker 4: don't pay attention to counties, man.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Because you live in a big city.
- 8:58Speaker 4: But I feel like you got to be from Atlanta
- 9:01Speaker 4: to pay attention to counties from the south.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Like, B. Lou be like, I'm from Cobb County. Cobb County.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Cobb County. I'm like, yo, what's his name in counties?
- 9:09Speaker 1: Gwinnett County. They be County McGee.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Every county ended up.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Like, I've never.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I've never lived in a county city either. I've lived
- 9:16Speaker 1: in Cook County, which is Chicago. Yeah, Cook County.
- 9:18Speaker 3: I've lived in Curry County in New Mexico.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Dona Ana.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Dona Ana in New Mexico.
- 9:24Speaker 1: What is that?
- 9:25Speaker 4: The counties.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Man, just say New Mexico. And I live in L.A.
- 9:28Speaker 1: County now.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Ever since I've been in L.A.
- 9:30Speaker 4: County. L.A.
- 9:30Speaker 1: County don't even matter.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:32Speaker 2: We're like- Donya County?
- 9:33Speaker 1: Donyana. Yuck.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Donya. Donya is D-O-N-A and then Anya. A-N with a
- 9:41Speaker 4: little thing. What state is that in?
- 9:43Speaker 1: Las Cruces.
- 9:44Speaker 2: That's in Donyanya?
- 9:45Speaker 1: Donyan. Donyan. I lived in El Paso County when I
- 9:49Speaker 1: was in El Paso. Cook County when I was in Chicago. Man,
- 9:53Speaker 1: watch out, man. Enough of this Chicago. It's great. You
- 9:56Speaker 1: know the AI picked it up. You're taking it to the- utmost.
- 9:59Speaker 1: I'm taking it to the extreme. It's the best thing going.
- 10:03Speaker 4: You got to get a place in Chicago now.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I would love to. You got to now. If I
- 10:07Speaker 1: get filthy rich, and I'm not even joking, I said
- 10:09Speaker 1: this before Chicago showed me love, and this is, I
- 10:12Speaker 1: think it's because I show Chicago genuine love. Oh, for sure, yeah, yeah.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Downtown Chicago is the best downtown in America.
- 10:19Speaker 4: I agree.
- 10:19Speaker 1: No joke. I agree. No bias. No bias. And we
- 10:24Speaker 1: on the road. We have stayed downtown. I've been in
- 10:28Speaker 1: downtown in every A, B, and C market in the
- 10:32Speaker 1: United States of America.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Chicago downtown has everything.
- 10:37Speaker 4: And it's clean.
- 10:39Speaker 1: It's clean.
- 10:39Speaker 2: It's clean. You got good restaurants.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Yes. Entertainment. It's walkable. Yes.
- 10:46Speaker 2: You walk two blocks over, you are walking along Lake Michigan.
- 10:50Speaker 1: It's a beach. Yes. In the summertime, you've got... restaurants.
- 10:55Speaker 2: You've got great shopping.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Great shopping. Great public transportation.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Great public transportation and a great skyline.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Great skyline. Great museums.
- 11:05Speaker 4: And the museums are in close proximity too. We hit
- 11:09Speaker 4: three museums in the same afternoon on foot.
- 11:12Speaker 1: It's perfect.
- 11:13Speaker 2: New York is good, too.
- 11:14Speaker 1: That's probably my second favorite one. New York is fantastic.
- 11:17Speaker 1: New York is the second favorite. It's dirty and smelly.
- 11:19Speaker 1: It's dirty. You do see rats. I've seen a grip
- 11:22Speaker 1: of rats when I was in New York.
- 11:24Speaker 4: They say Chicago has more rats, but I've never seen
- 11:26Speaker 4: them like I do in New York.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Because I think the rats in New York do not
- 11:29Speaker 1: care to hide.
- 11:31Speaker 2: The rats in New York are like, we live here.
- 11:33Speaker 2: They don't even scurry.
- 11:34Speaker 1: We're not hiding no more.
- 11:35Speaker 2: The rats in New York be.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Like, I've never seen them scurry. They be on top
- 11:39Speaker 4: of the trash bags like this. I seen this one rat,
- 11:43Speaker 4: he was like, oh shit. Damn, man, it's hot, y'all.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Y'all walking? I was like, why is that rat just
- 11:50Speaker 4: on the trash bag? He wasn't even looking for food.
- 11:52Speaker 4: He was just like, woo!
- 11:55Speaker 1: New York City, baby. He was at home, man. I
- 11:57Speaker 1: was like, damn, New York. What am I running for?
- 12:00Speaker 1: Remember the rat was taking the pizza down the subway? Yes.
- 12:03Speaker 1: He was going to catch that subway. He was going
- 12:05Speaker 1: to his house. Big rat. He live in Coney Island. Literally.
- 12:09Speaker 1: He was like, hey, hold that tray. Yeah, I got you.
- 12:12Speaker 1: He got the new tap to pay. Them rats do
- 12:15Speaker 1: not care. Yeah.
- 12:17Speaker 2: But New York has all that stuff, too.
- 12:18Speaker 1: It's just dirty. I feel like the places are smaller, too. Yes.
- 12:24Speaker 2: But, man, if I had money for a loft in Chicago.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Come on, man. I follow this one page. They be
- 12:29Speaker 4: showing all kind of apartments and lofts in Chicago.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Oh, man, send me that. Oh, yeah.
- 12:33Speaker 3: I'll send you. Next time it come on my thing,
- 12:35Speaker 3: I'll send it to you.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Man, and in the summertime, so this time we were
- 12:38Speaker 1: in Chicago, we stayed across from the Cubs. Oh, you
- 12:41Speaker 1: was in Wrigleyville.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Man.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Yeah. Even though the Cubs are out.
- 12:46Speaker 3: White Sox still in, baby.
- 12:47Speaker 1: White Sox are still in. But they built a beautiful
- 12:50Speaker 1: little grassy lawn. Kids was playing cornhole. And there's not
- 12:55Speaker 1: even a Cubs game. Yeah. But they made it like
- 12:57Speaker 1: a mixed use, which I think is smart. You're going
- 12:59Speaker 1: to build a stadium in the neighborhood. Have it be
- 13:01Speaker 1: useful to something when the team is over.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Like Atlanta has that, too. The Braves stadium.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Yeah. They got the... We staying over there by the
- 13:08Speaker 1: end of the year. They got the hotels over there.
- 13:10Speaker 1: They got the food, the restaurants, the Roxy. Like, let's
- 13:13Speaker 1: get some other stuff going. Right.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I mean, and there's a lot of baseball games.
- 13:16Speaker 4: There's a lot of baseball games. But you still want
- 13:19Speaker 4: that to pop. There's 300 days in the year.
- 13:21Speaker 1: For sure. So, yeah, anyway. For sure. Back to Lanners.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I think what I've seen on people online, people who
- 13:30Speaker 1: didn't like it wanted the show to be something that
- 13:33Speaker 1: they never said the show was going to be. Right.
- 13:35Speaker 1: They never... Apparently, they set out before that it was
- 13:39Speaker 1: going to be True Detective. I never saw this. I
- 13:41Speaker 1: didn't see much about Lanterns outside of Jon Stewart being cast.
- 13:44Speaker 1: I know nothing about it. Yeah. But apparently, they put out, yo,
- 13:47Speaker 1: we're going to do True Detective to try to give
- 13:49Speaker 1: you an idea of what show to expect. Vibes. True
- 13:52Speaker 1: Detective always slow. Big slow.
- 13:54Speaker 4: I've seen about three of those. I've seen three of
- 13:57Speaker 4: those seasons. Yeah, I saw the one with Matt and Woody.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I saw that one.
- 14:02Speaker 4: I saw the one with Herschel Law. And then I
- 14:05Speaker 4: saw one with Jodie Foster.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I heard that one was good. Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 2: It had a supernatural element that made me scared.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:11Speaker 3: But it wasn't too crazy. Yeah, it was a little creepy.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Yeah. But yeah, I think people who didn't like it
- 14:17Speaker 1: wanted to see more action, more Lantern, and the suit.
- 14:22Speaker 1: That's usually the complaint that I got. And less black people.
- 14:26Speaker 1: They didn't like the woke part. You know they want
- 14:28Speaker 1: the blacks. They get the.
- 14:30Speaker 4: It's a black superhero, yeah, but we just don't want
- 14:33Speaker 4: the blacks there. It's Black Panther. I get that, but
- 14:36Speaker 4: it's just too many black people in Africa. Why y'all
- 14:40Speaker 4: got to have so many black people in Wakanda?
- 14:42Speaker 1: It's just too much. It's woke.
- 14:45Speaker 3: No, it's just literally them living in Africa. Yeah, but
- 14:47Speaker 3: it's woke.
- 14:48Speaker 4: As soon as they showed Africa and a panther and just.
- 14:51Speaker 3: African garbs, it was just woke.
- 14:52Speaker 2: And the people over there, they got money and tech.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:55Speaker 2: And they got the best tech in Marvel.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Black people got money?
- 14:57Speaker 1: It's too woke. Nah.
- 14:59Speaker 4: There's no way black people could ever be wealthy.
- 15:01Speaker 1: We're going to vote this third episode down just because
- 15:04Speaker 1: they spent time seeing how Jon Stewart was.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Also, people made a good point that I didn't think about.
- 15:09Speaker 2: In the last episode.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I was saying that I didn't believe how Jon Stewart
- 15:14Speaker 1: was repping that outcast. And they was in the comments like, Kev,
- 15:17Speaker 1: they set that up when he was little. His brothers
- 15:20Speaker 1: made fun of him for how he did it. It
- 15:22Speaker 1: was on purpose. And I was like, you right. You right.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I forgot about that. It made sense to me in
- 15:29Speaker 1: the moment. It was overt. And he probably, you don't
- 15:33Speaker 1: get better, I guess you don't get better at rapping
- 15:36Speaker 1: outcast lyrics. It's like, as I introduced Cussie, it's the feeling.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I think that's just good writing because Jon Stewart probably
- 15:44Speaker 1: didn't grow up, I mean, not Jon Stewart, Aaron Pierre
- 15:46Speaker 1: might not have.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Grown up with outcasts like that.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I don't know. Because a lot of black Brits grew
- 15:50Speaker 1: up on a lot of rap music. But if he didn't,
- 15:54Speaker 1: that was a smart way of like, well, he don't
- 15:57Speaker 1: sound believable. Let's make it make sense in the story. Canonically,
- 16:02Speaker 1: you know, uh, I feel.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Like a lot of British people lean towards the more
- 16:07Speaker 4: lyrical U.S.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Rappers. Yeah. Yeah.
- 16:11Speaker 4: Because OutKast has always been a mixture of the two.
- 16:14Speaker 4: A mixture of the southern draw slang and the lyrical lyrical.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Yeah. And by the way, man, Andre 3000 is great.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 2: The separation that people try to put between him and
- 16:28Speaker 2: Big Boi.
- 16:29Speaker 1: I can't stand it. Hey, y'all. I can't stand it.
- 16:32Speaker 2: There's a reason they are a group.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Yes. I think they are much closer than people try
- 16:38Speaker 1: to make them seem. They have different skills, but it
- 16:42Speaker 1: ain't like Big Boi shouldn't even be. They be talking
- 16:44Speaker 1: about Big Boi like he shouldn't even be over there
- 16:46Speaker 1: with Andre.
- 16:47Speaker 3: And Andre told you, he's like, I didn't think I
- 16:49Speaker 3: could rap as good as Big Boi.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Bruh, if you said Big Boi was your favorite, I'd
- 16:54Speaker 1: be like, they just have different styles. It ain't worlds
- 16:57Speaker 1: different like that to me.
- 16:58Speaker 4: When OutKast first hit me in the chest, it was
- 17:02Speaker 4: because of how Big Boi set it off on the
- 17:05Speaker 4: song Southern Player Listed Cadillac.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Man, that's the first song. It was his flow.
- 17:08Speaker 4: I was just like, yo, man, yo. And then the
- 17:11Speaker 4: way he kicks off Hootie Hoot. Come on, man.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Big Boi, to me.
- 17:16Speaker 3: He was slightly above Andre on that first album.
- 17:19Speaker 1: For sure.
- 17:20Speaker 4: And then the thing about Big Boi, though, he never
- 17:23Speaker 4: had the heavy subject matter.
- 17:25Speaker 1: And I think that's what they... That's the only difference.
- 17:28Speaker 2: As Andre got older.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Yeah. He started talking about deeper stuff. He was very.
- 17:33Speaker 2: One of my favorite Andre verses.
- 17:34Speaker 1: When he's on that song with Kanye, talking about what
- 17:37Speaker 1: he lost, I was like, yo, you have painted a
- 17:39Speaker 1: vivid picture talking about grief and remorse and... all that stuff,
- 17:45Speaker 1: and it's so clear and lyrical. And I think that,
- 17:48Speaker 1: and that's fine. But you don't gotta diminish, it's like
- 17:52Speaker 1: Jordan and Pippen. Like, Jordan knows he wouldn't have won
- 17:56Speaker 1: them championships without Pippen. Pippen knows he wouldn't have won
- 18:00Speaker 1: them championships without Jordan. Yes, Jordan is better, but it
- 18:03Speaker 1: ain't Jordan and Bill Cartwright or B.J. Armstrong or Luke Longley.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Pippen was holding his own. They were dynamic together. This
- 18:11Speaker 1: is the proof in the pudding right here. When they made.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Speakerboxd's Love Below, it's basically two solo albums together, which
- 18:18Speaker 4: was genius, but they both had number one singles on
- 18:24Speaker 4: Billboard from each album. I like the way you move
- 18:28Speaker 4: and hey y'all. Both hit number one on Billboard. That
- 18:31Speaker 4: lets you know Big Boy ain't no goddamn weak link.
- 18:34Speaker 1: He ain't no, and he's still out here. Exactly. And
- 18:37Speaker 1: he barbecues I'd be like, yo, he got the birds,
- 18:44Speaker 1: lobster tail on the grill.
- 18:45Speaker 3: He'd be grilling. With owls at the crib.
- 18:47Speaker 1: With owls.
- 18:48Speaker 2: And also, owls have long legs, man.
- 18:51Speaker 4: They do.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Underneath them owls, man, they pull the, I'll say, what
- 18:55Speaker 1: the heck's going on underneath the owls' legs? Did you
- 18:59Speaker 1: know they had that much leg? They almost all leg.
- 19:04Speaker 1: That is all lag, Tony.
- 19:06Speaker 2: It freaked me out. I said, yo, what the hell's
- 19:09Speaker 2: underneath there?
- 19:10Speaker 1: Yeah, man, the feathers.
- 19:11Speaker 4: When you look at birds without the feathers, that's a
- 19:15Speaker 4: flaccid dilk and a half. When you look at certain
- 19:20Speaker 4: animals without the coat and the feathers, boy, that changes
- 19:25Speaker 4: the whole dynamic.
- 19:28Speaker 3: If you look at a shaved bear, you're like, ugh.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Some of these animals is all wardrobe.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Without the wardrobe, they just look.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Ew! They looking crazy. They do. You need the whole thing.
- 19:50Speaker 1: You got to have the whole visual, man. You got
- 19:51Speaker 1: to have the whole visual, man.
- 19:53Speaker 4: The butt naked ass bald eagle with.
- 19:56Speaker 1: No coat on. You can't be our mascot for America.
- 19:59Speaker 1: You represent America?
- 20:01Speaker 4: What?
- 20:02Speaker 1: Yuck.
- 20:08Speaker 3: And birds are incredibly light.
- 20:10Speaker 1: That's what's amazing. Yeah.
- 20:11Speaker 3: As big as those birds get.
- 20:13Speaker 4: I remember when I was shooting Working Wild and I
- 20:15Speaker 4: was holding like vultures and owls and falcons and hawks.
- 20:18Speaker 3: They are so light. It's crazy to see something that big.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Yeah. It was like it was nothing on my arm.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Man, I was watching a National Geographic about owls.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:29Speaker 2: And they were saying owls.
- 20:31Speaker 1: part of their hunting is they can fly and make
- 20:34Speaker 1: almost no sound. So the mice and, you know, the
- 20:39Speaker 1: small things, small wooden creatures, they don't even hear it.
- 20:42Speaker 4: They got no clue.
- 20:43Speaker 2: And that's animal-level hearing.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, that's crazy. I can see you from way here,
- 20:49Speaker 1: and you can't hear me. Yeah. Come on, man. They
- 20:52Speaker 1: got to wait.
- 20:53Speaker 4: A lot of these animals got to wait till they
- 20:55Speaker 4: see you. I think it's... I was seeing a video
- 20:59Speaker 4: or something about... What's that animals? The meek rat or whatever?
- 21:03Speaker 1: Meerkat?
- 21:04Speaker 4: Meerkat. They have like sentries that they just be watching.
- 21:09Speaker 2: That's the one who's always out there looking?
- 21:11Speaker 4: Yeah, because they watching to make sure the predators coming.
- 21:16Speaker 4: And so everybody else kind of scurrying. But there's always one.
- 21:20Speaker 4: He ate good the night before. So he's like, all right,
- 21:22Speaker 4: y'all go ahead.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I'm going to be. He ate good.
- 21:24Speaker 4: And they got certain calls to come out. It's the
- 21:27Speaker 4: only way you're going to see the owls if you
- 21:28Speaker 4: see it coming in.
- 21:29Speaker 1: It's too late. And by that time. One more thing
- 21:32Speaker 1: about birds and we'll move on. Man, I saw this
- 21:35Speaker 1: nature photographer, man. He just posted this video about, it
- 21:38Speaker 1: was a bald eagle grabbing salmon out of the, or
- 21:41Speaker 1: maybe not a salmon, but grabbing a fish out of
- 21:43Speaker 1: the water.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Can you imagine?
- 21:45Speaker 3: Man, dog, you think you tucked in.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Bro, you just at the top.
- 21:50Speaker 4: You think you tucked in. Like, nah, we good down here.
- 21:53Speaker 4: This is our territory.
- 21:57Speaker 1: And you're immediately drowning.
- 21:59Speaker 3: You're immediately drowning in the air.
- 22:01Speaker 1: That's like if something picked me and you up right
- 22:03Speaker 1: now and pulled us into the ocean. And we like,
- 22:06Speaker 1: the ocean ain't... How am I in the... I'm dying?
- 22:09Speaker 3: They carrying us through the ocean.
- 22:12Speaker 1: We just like... We just report a podcast and something's
- 22:16Speaker 1: just like... Nigga! What is happening right now? I was
- 22:21Speaker 1: just shooting the ball, brothers. How am I in the ocean?
- 22:24Speaker 1: The ocean is an hour away. Why am I drowning
- 22:27Speaker 1: right now? I'm drowning? What the heck is happening?
- 22:31Speaker 3: The animal kingdom is terrifying, though.
- 22:34Speaker 2: They will eat your baby the second it's born.
- 22:36Speaker 1: For sure. Birth. I ate your baby, man. I seen
- 22:39Speaker 1: this one video. It was heartbreaking, man.
- 22:41Speaker 4: It was some kind of carrion animal.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I don't know if it was a deer or whatever.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Just giving birth. You know they give birth standing up.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:52Speaker 4: Moms had to run off, and then the lion came
- 22:55Speaker 4: and got the baby that just hit the ground. That
- 23:00Speaker 4: baby just came out. That lion was like, yeah.
- 23:07Speaker 3: And mom's had the jet.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Where'd she go? She just ran off.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Ran off camera.
- 23:12Speaker 1: No, she knew.
- 23:13Speaker 4: And then you just see the lion right there. I
- 23:14Speaker 4: was just like, man, don't bring me back.
- 23:16Speaker 1: There's no animal.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Do you think animals are like, I don't really want
- 23:19Speaker 2: this baby.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I can't have no abortion. I'm just, I'm finna laze
- 23:23Speaker 1: in pride lands.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Well, animals do know if they have a bad batch.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Oh, do they? They do know.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Cause I remember the Rottweiler we had, she was taking
- 23:31Speaker 4: her kids out because it wasn't a good- Oh, killing them? Yeah.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Cause it wasn't, they know like, no, these, and the
- 23:38Speaker 4: proof was in the pudding. Cause when we was trying
- 23:40Speaker 4: to feed those babies, they died off.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Yeah, dog. She said, I told y'all, nigga.
- 23:45Speaker 3: I told y'all it wasn't a good bag.
- 23:46Speaker 1: No, no. Hell no. All right, let's go back. Noah,
- 23:54Speaker 1: when Noah said, He killed Howell. Did you believe him
- 23:57Speaker 1: or did you know he was protected?
- 23:59Speaker 4: I knew he was coming for his mother. Because at
- 24:00Speaker 4: first I was like, I knew it, y'all. But then
- 24:02Speaker 4: I was just like, nah, he giving this away too smooth.
- 24:05Speaker 1: You thought. And then I was like.
- 24:07Speaker 2: I thought they were twisting me up.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Because I was just like, why would he just say
- 24:12Speaker 4: it like that? It would have been a more dramatic
- 24:14Speaker 4: reveal if he, in fact, did kill Howell.
- 24:17Speaker 1: And then they would have showed us. Yeah. Yeah.
- 24:19Speaker 4: I was like, maybe he covering up for his mom.
- 24:22Speaker 4: And I was telling people in my watch party, I
- 24:23Speaker 4: was just like, yeah, I told y'all.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I told y'all.
- 24:27Speaker 4: And my eyes squinted because I was like, he just
- 24:30Speaker 4: gave that up too loosey-goosey.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:32Speaker 2: He didn't sound believable in the monologue, which I think
- 24:34Speaker 2: is by design.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Yeah. I was like, oh.
- 24:37Speaker 2: I was like, oh, dang.
- 24:38Speaker 1: I was like, oh, I was wrong. Yeah.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I thought it was Carrie. Okay, tell me why I
- 24:43Speaker 2: know him.
- 24:44Speaker 1: And then I was like, when she said, when he
- 24:46Speaker 1: figured it out. Because also the way John looked at him,
- 24:48Speaker 1: he was just like, Nah. Yeah. I ain't. Nah. I
- 24:52Speaker 1: ain't going to say nothing. Yeah. Because it's like, in
- 24:55Speaker 1: that conversation, John was analyzing everything about the situation. Yeah.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Are you going to kill me? Mm-hmm. Who are you?
- 25:03Speaker 2: Am I going to take you up on the offer
- 25:04Speaker 2: to kill you?
- 25:05Speaker 1: Right. Like, everything that's happening.
- 25:07Speaker 4: It was a lot to chew on.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Bruh. And he was looking at the ring. And he
- 25:10Speaker 1: was looking at the ring. I felt like he was
- 25:11Speaker 1: going to be like, you know? Let me ask you this.
- 25:14Speaker 1: And I don't know much about DC, and you might
- 25:15Speaker 1: not know.
- 25:16Speaker 4: Oh.
- 25:17Speaker 1: What exactly makes them, how do they do Manhunter stuff?
- 25:22Speaker 1: Because they didn't say how she killed Abin Sur, and
- 25:25Speaker 1: I didn't look anything up. Like, they are afraid of him. Like,
- 25:28Speaker 1: what is, how does he get active without the ring?
- 25:31Speaker 1: Because they were afraid of Zoe, and she didn't even
- 25:33Speaker 1: have no ring. Right. And that was just manipulation tactics.
- 25:36Speaker 1: What would Noah, I get if he had the ring
- 25:38Speaker 1: and the lantern. Right. But they were still like, we
- 25:41Speaker 1: got to keep an eye on him. Like, how do they,
- 25:43Speaker 1: is it just pure manipulation tactics? Or do they have
- 25:46Speaker 1: some sort of strength? Like, what is.
- 25:48Speaker 3: I don't know much about the Manhunters, to be honest
- 25:50Speaker 3: with you.
- 25:50Speaker 1: I can't figure out why they... Because they were... Everybody
- 25:52Speaker 1: was like... Anton and the group were like, oh, we
- 25:55Speaker 1: got to kill them.
- 25:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Right now.
- 25:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:57Speaker 1: You know, everybody was doing it. So I'm like, are
- 25:59Speaker 1: they just like... You know what I'm saying? Like great talkers.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Cause I can see if you're the president, you get
- 26:04Speaker 1: the nuclear warhead.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Right.
- 26:06Speaker 2: But do you have some sort of, cause he was like,
- 26:08Speaker 2: he can kill you.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Yeah. How told John that man Hunter would like, be careful. He,
- 26:14Speaker 1: he's going to kill you if you don't take that ring. Yeah.
- 26:16Speaker 1: He's going to kill you. And John legit had looked
- 26:20Speaker 1: like he was, he said it, he was like, You
- 26:24Speaker 1: trying to see if I'm gonna kill you? He was like, yeah,
- 26:26Speaker 1: I am also wondering that. I was wondering that. But
- 26:31Speaker 1: they didn't ever tell you how though. And I don't
- 26:34Speaker 1: know much about them. I don't know enough about the
- 26:36Speaker 1: Manhunters myself. Where's Jay Friesian in here, man? They saying
- 26:40Speaker 1: something in there. They're basically androids created by the Guardians.
- 26:43Speaker 1: They were made to be police like the Lanterns. But
- 26:46Speaker 1: do they have any, I think Manhunters are essentially killing machines.
- 26:52Speaker 4: They changed how they operate in the show. In the comics,
- 26:55Speaker 4: Manhunters are very different on their approach.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Okay.
- 27:02Speaker 4: Sinestro betraying Lanterns, Manhunters betraying the blue people, and Noah
- 27:06Speaker 4: breaking out Sinestro. They choose strong people and manipulate them.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Okay, so that's their thing. Okay.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Manhunters are essentially the first Green Lanterns just ruthless and
- 27:18Speaker 4: went against the.
- 27:22Speaker 1: They went against the blue people. Who's the blue people?
- 27:25Speaker 4: The blue people that started the Greenlanders and the Guardians.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Oh, there's something above the Guardians? Oh, the Guardians is
- 27:33Speaker 1: who I meant. Oh, okay. Yeah. Okay, Jordy. The biggest
- 27:37Speaker 1: power is manipulation. That's their biggest power. Jordy says Manhunter
- 27:40Speaker 1: is just super strong because Noah was putting hands on John.
- 27:43Speaker 1: He was kicking him tough.
- 27:44Speaker 2: And John didn't get whooped in that show at all
- 27:47Speaker 2: by regular whites.
- 27:48Speaker 3: No, he was giving hands all season.
- 27:50Speaker 1: He was beating.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Regular Nebraska Cornhusker fans.
- 27:53Speaker 1: 5v1. Right. They were getting. He made short work of that. Oh, man.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Can you imagine, Tone? If it's me, you, Tahir, B.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Lou, and Keenan, and then Greg just whoops us all.
- 28:05Speaker 3: All the easy work.
- 28:07Speaker 1: And they weren't even doing one by one. They were
- 28:09Speaker 1: like coming out of it. He was like.
- 28:12Speaker 4: I was like, man, cash me out.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I got to go to Eastern Nebraska and see the
- 28:15Speaker 1: garlic bread. The garlic bread's going on Eastern Nebraska. Light work. Yeah,
- 28:19Speaker 1: he was.
- 28:20Speaker 2: John hit the ground, and Noah just didn't let him
- 28:22Speaker 2: get up.
- 28:23Speaker 4: No.
- 28:23Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Hard kick. Yeah. Okay, so
- 28:29Speaker 1: Crazy Beard Foodie says they're super strong, very calculated, no emotions,
- 28:33Speaker 1: like a galactic terminator. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
- 28:39Speaker 2: So is John like mixed race, Manhunter, human hybrid?
- 28:43Speaker 4: John?
- 28:43Speaker 1: I mean, not John. Noah.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Because I don't know how Manhunters are created.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Me neither.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Because I was like, yo, they just put him in her.
- 28:51Speaker 1: When she put that finger in, she got pregnant. That's
- 28:56Speaker 1: what did it.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:57Speaker 1: When she gave her that finger, that was a Manhunter
- 28:59Speaker 1: nut in the finger.
- 29:02Speaker 2: And it came in from wherever that finger came in.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Because she was like, that nigga ain't smashed.
- 29:07Speaker 4: And a man, you know somebody hit. You let that
- 29:10Speaker 4: nigga tear his balls. You should have never laid that
- 29:13Speaker 4: down with a man. I don't know how I got,
- 29:16Speaker 4: you don't know how you got pregnant. You don't know
- 29:21Speaker 4: how you got pregnant. All right, all right, Mary.
- 29:23Speaker 1: It's the first thing I thought of.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Who brings you, Mary?
- 29:27Speaker 1: Who brings you?
- 29:28Speaker 3: Immaculate conception.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Oh, okay, so you got, that's Jesus then, huh? Well,
- 29:33Speaker 1: you know who hit? Who hit? Was it Billy?
- 29:37Speaker 2: So Billy had to come after. She was already pranked out.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:41Speaker 2: So maybe Noah don't even know that and his dad.
- 29:43Speaker 1: He don't? I don't know.
- 29:46Speaker 4: I don't know what Noah know.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Yeah, because Melissa was like, he, I was like, Melissa
- 29:51Speaker 1: was like, he's a man under, I was like, they.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Was just hanging on the camera on him too early.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:55Speaker 2: She was always paying close, close attention early.
- 29:57Speaker 1: They was shoving in. Man, at first what they was like,
- 30:01Speaker 1: I was like, bro, what is this kid? Why?
- 30:05Speaker 3: I was like, what is it about him?
- 30:07Speaker 1: Because they ain't making a point to be like child
- 30:10Speaker 1: with football. Long haul we going to pull back.
- 30:14Speaker 3: Like, why are you talking so much?
- 30:16Speaker 1: It's like, get this stupid kid out of here, man.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I don't care nothing about him. And he was like, oh,
- 30:21Speaker 1: he's the Manhunter. Yeah.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Here's my theory.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Did you watch Dexter?
- 30:28Speaker 4: I watched Dexter for a few seasons, maybe about the
- 30:31Speaker 4: first three.
- 30:32Speaker 1: I want to take a quick break from the show
- 30:33Speaker 1: to tell you about one of our sponsors. I got
- 30:35Speaker 1: to tell you about this new prediction market called Polymarket.
- 30:39Speaker 1: It's the best new way to trade in sports. In
- 30:41Speaker 1: the past, if you wanted action on the game, you
- 30:44Speaker 1: put some money in, and if your team was doing
- 30:46Speaker 1: well and you wanted to cash out, they'd lock the
- 30:48Speaker 1: trade or take a huge fee. But Polymarket is a
- 30:51Speaker 1: prediction market. It's a stock exchange market. for sports buying
- 30:56Speaker 1: in and selling out on your terms i've tried them
- 30:59Speaker 1: all and polymarket is simply the best prediction market better
- 31:02Speaker 1: than draft kings better than fanduel better than cal she
- 31:06Speaker 1: you name it they are so confident you'll never go
- 31:09Speaker 1: back to the other guys they're giving you a free
- 31:11Speaker 1: 25 on your first trade when you deposit just 10
- 31:15Speaker 1: dollars And now they've launched a new feature called Squads,
- 31:20Speaker 1: which is a group chat where you can see what
- 31:22Speaker 1: everyone is trading on. So download the Polymarket app today
- 31:26Speaker 1: and use code BALDBROS when you sign up. That's code
- 31:30Speaker 1: BALDBROS to get $ 25 free after you deposit just $ 10.
- 31:34Speaker 1: And now back to the show. My theory is, you
- 31:38Speaker 1: remember how Dexter's dad was his dark passenger? I think
- 31:41Speaker 1: that's what they're going to do with Hal and John.
- 31:43Speaker 1: I think the hologram is not gone. Oh, he going
- 31:45Speaker 1: to stay with John. I think. Yeah. I think he,
- 31:48Speaker 1: because first of all, just Kyle Chandler and John. You
- 31:51Speaker 1: got to keep that going.
- 31:52Speaker 2: That's chemistry is great.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Yeah. That part where he tricked him into saying, I
- 31:56Speaker 1: love you. What was the last thing I said to her?
- 31:59Speaker 1: I love you. I love you too.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Now, little Easter egg. He said, I love you too, Junior.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Which was something 2026 Howell said, not 2016 Howell.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Because remember earlier, Halle Graham was calling him like Trainee
- 32:11Speaker 1: or his name. Yeah. But then the current Halle was
- 32:14Speaker 1: always calling him Junior. So I was like, hold on now.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Is that, is that, you know, because I understand it's Sinead.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Is the ring picking up some stuff? Yeah.
- 32:24Speaker 3: How did he, how did he advance on the sentiment?
- 32:27Speaker 1: Yeah. And then you remember Sinestro was like, I can
- 32:29Speaker 1: bring Halle back for real. And I didn't know if
- 32:32Speaker 1: he was being manipulative or he was like. For real.
- 32:35Speaker 2: And I don't imagine Sinestro's dead.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Yeah. However they left him on that planet, I just
- 32:40Speaker 1: don't buy that he died up there. No, he alive. Yeah, so...
- 32:44Speaker 1: Sunburned self. That felt... Man! He look like he just
- 32:48Speaker 1: got a sunburn.
- 32:49Speaker 4: Man!
- 32:49Speaker 1: He's us in that Hawaii. Remember we all got sunburned
- 32:52Speaker 1: in Hawaii at that time?
- 32:53Speaker 3: He just crisped up, man.
- 32:54Speaker 1: That's it. Yeah. He definitely alive, though.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Yeah, so I was wondering, like.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Because... I was like, is Jon conjuring up him? Is
- 33:06Speaker 1: he part of the ring? Now that he booted up
- 33:09Speaker 1: the ring, because remember Sinestro, somebody was saying this online,
- 33:11Speaker 1: they're like, Sinestro's trying to get him to boot up
- 33:14Speaker 1: the ring because the ring turned green when he powered
- 33:16Speaker 1: it up. And they had set it up to where
- 33:18Speaker 1: it seemed like it might be yellow because of fear.
- 33:20Speaker 1: And they were saying that if Sinestro had got Jon
- 33:24Speaker 1: to do it when he was scared, it might have
- 33:26Speaker 1: booted up yellow. But because he didn't do that, it
- 33:30Speaker 1: was back to willpower. It was It was green with
- 33:33Speaker 1: a little yellow, it was like green beans and corn.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Heavy green beans. And he added the fear, and I
- 33:38Speaker 1: thought adding the fear in was good. It's like the
- 33:41Speaker 1: dark side of the force. The best people are ones
- 33:44Speaker 1: who can, it can't be all fear and it can't
- 33:47Speaker 1: be all Jedi. You can pull from both. Being fearless
- 33:50Speaker 1: is ridiculous. Oh no, like no fear? You gotta be
- 33:54Speaker 1: an android. Come on, man. And that's equally bad.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Mr.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Sinestro said that. He was like, if he's truly fearless,
- 34:00Speaker 2: then that's a weakness.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, a healthy amount of fear is necessary for survival,
- 34:05Speaker 1: for all that stuff. So I think I agree with
- 34:09Speaker 1: Hal when he was saying that's why I feel like
- 34:10Speaker 1: you're gonna be a better Lantern than me. Because he
- 34:13Speaker 1: got the healthy fear. Or the blackness. And then he
- 34:15Speaker 1: also was good. He got cool with the mom and
- 34:17Speaker 1: the rapping brothers. No, yeah, yeah.
- 34:19Speaker 3: I like that.
- 34:19Speaker 4: I like that element at the end.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:21Speaker 2: I was like, man, you got to fix it with your.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Mom, man. Yeah, fix it with mom, man. Good old Bernadette. Bernadette.
- 34:28Speaker 2: And change it to mom in the phone, too, man.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Change it on that phone, dog. Because calling your mom
- 34:33Speaker 1: as a black person, I said, man, I ain't going
- 34:35Speaker 1: to have to. You're wilding now.
- 34:37Speaker 3: Bernadette?
- 34:38Speaker 1: Bernadette. And that's a mom name. Man, Bernadette in your
- 34:43Speaker 1: phone is wild.
- 34:44Speaker 4: I can't imagine having Sandy Baker in my phone, man.
- 34:47Speaker 3: You kidding me?
- 34:48Speaker 4: Sandra L.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Baker?
- 34:52Speaker 3: Just calling me?
- 34:53Speaker 1: Nah, man. We not doing this. And it looks like
- 34:57Speaker 1: he finally understood his mom.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Because all those completely misguided. She, in her own way,
- 35:04Speaker 1: thought she was doing what was best. She did. It
- 35:06Speaker 1: was terribly wrong. It was big wrong.
- 35:08Speaker 4: And I feel like that close-up shot of her crying
- 35:11Speaker 4: and taking it in, I feel like there was some
- 35:14Speaker 4: regret in there.
- 35:15Speaker 1: For sure.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Like, I felt the remorse from her in that hug.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:20Speaker 4: Like, I finally felt like she was finally realizing... you know,
- 35:25Speaker 4: the damage she did.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Yes.
- 35:26Speaker 3: And so I saw that within the hood.
- 35:28Speaker 1: I agree. I think also she, um, when he was
- 35:31Speaker 1: explaining to Carrie before he let her get away with murder, he,
- 35:35Speaker 1: it seemed like he had never thought about his mom
- 35:39Speaker 1: made him walk home to be fearless, but that didn't
- 35:42Speaker 1: mean she was fearless. Right.
- 35:43Speaker 2: And I was like, huh? He wasn't feeling that two
- 35:47Speaker 2: episodes ago.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Was he, why was he mad at her at
- 35:51Speaker 1: the beginning? Not the beginning. Yeah.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Not the beginning, but was it, Remember, he like.
- 35:57Speaker 4: I feel like the anger towards her kicked in later
- 36:00Speaker 4: after that one episode.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Was it after he turned down the ring?
- 36:05Speaker 4: Because he was still... Yeah, it was after that. That's
- 36:07Speaker 4: when we knew it was a rift between him and
- 36:10Speaker 4: the parents.
- 36:10Speaker 1: But they never.
- 36:11Speaker 4: Because I feel like he was always talking to the
- 36:13Speaker 4: parents the whole time.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. And then, oh, they got beef. Yeah, and
- 36:19Speaker 1: then she went and said Hal wanted to meet you
- 36:21Speaker 1: and lie, but he already was mad at her. Yeah.
- 36:24Speaker 1: When they came back from that, when he turned the ring,
- 36:27Speaker 1: after the Manhunter, you know, did all that stuff and
- 36:30Speaker 1: he was like, nah.
- 36:31Speaker 4: Right.
- 36:32Speaker 1: He seemed like they wasn't cool from right then and
- 36:34Speaker 1: then it got worse when she lied to him. But
- 36:36Speaker 1: it already said Bernadette in the phone, if I remember correctly.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Because I feel like.
- 36:41Speaker 4: I feel like they must have had a conversation after
- 36:43Speaker 4: he told her, like, I'll turn that ring in.
- 36:45Speaker 1: She probably went off.
- 36:46Speaker 4: For sure. And then that's what created the rift.
- 36:50Speaker 1: I think so. Because you feel like you've been training
- 36:52Speaker 1: him for this his whole life. Yeah.
- 36:55Speaker 2: You got the opportunity. Because remember, she told him to
- 36:57Speaker 2: take the ring, and he didn't.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Right. So he was kind of defying her along the way.
- 37:04Speaker 1: You know, that's what I liked about the very end,
- 37:06Speaker 1: the conversation with John and Noah about programing. it didn't
- 37:10Speaker 1: dawn on me thematically that John was fighting his programming.
- 37:15Speaker 2: And now when he took the ring, it was under
- 37:18Speaker 2: his own will.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Not because he was programmed to take it.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Right. And Noah giving away the ring was also counter
- 37:26Speaker 1: to his programming. And then it's like, well, can we
- 37:31Speaker 1: keep on cutting our own path?
- 37:33Speaker 4: And I like the fact that they did it that way,
- 37:36Speaker 4: showing us that John.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Was like, he had the ring. You know what I'm saying?
- 37:40Speaker 3: They programmed him the whole time to get the ring.
- 37:42Speaker 3: He finally gets it.
- 37:43Speaker 1: He's like, nah. You know what I'm saying?
- 37:45Speaker 4: Then he comes back and he got to get it
- 37:46Speaker 4: just to solve the case. He still wasn't like, I
- 37:49Speaker 4: need that ring. And then when Noah got it, he
- 37:51Speaker 4: was just like, I might have to get it from
- 37:53Speaker 4: you simply because you might destroy everything.
- 37:56Speaker 1: But I still don't.
- 37:58Speaker 4: When he finally got it, it was just like, all right,
- 38:01Speaker 4: I'll take it.
- 38:02Speaker 3: I'm good with it now. I'm in a good place.
- 38:05Speaker 1: But listen.
- 38:06Speaker 3: I don't want to be no Lantern Corps.
- 38:08Speaker 4: I love that. You know what I'm saying? What did
- 38:10Speaker 4: he call himself? Independent contractor. Independent contractor.
- 38:13Speaker 3: I like that.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Also, God Gardner, man. He ain't got... We got to
- 38:19Speaker 1: build him back up. Because I watched him in the
- 38:21Speaker 1: Superman movie. He was getting off some stuff. He was.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Guy Gardner came in walking. He was, you know, Superman
- 38:27Speaker 1: had the budget for the Green Lantern stuff. For sure.
- 38:29Speaker 1: But he got punked the entire time. He was every
- 38:33Speaker 1: time Guy Gardner was there. You only got that ring
- 38:35Speaker 1: because I gave it to you, you little hoe. They
- 38:37Speaker 1: was punking him left and right. Man, he calling him,
- 38:39Speaker 1: he was both the Guardians and John's errand boy.
- 38:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:43Speaker 1: And Guy Gardner was just like.
- 38:44Speaker 3: What's the perspective on his name, man?
- 38:46Speaker 4: Yeah. I know the haircut is ridiculous and the gold, too.
- 38:50Speaker 1: But come on, man. I was like, dang, guy. Let
- 38:53Speaker 1: him beat up somebody else.
- 38:54Speaker 4: His name is Guy, and it sounds like you're being
- 38:56Speaker 4: condescending even when you say his name. Guy. Exactly.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Because I hate Guy. Why do you hate Guy?
- 39:03Speaker 4: It just sounds condescending every time. When people are like,
- 39:05Speaker 4: my guy.
- 39:06Speaker 1: My guy bothers you? My guy. Something like, tall, my guy.
- 39:10Speaker 3: If you say it like that, it's fine.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Okay, so what's the one you don't like?
- 39:15Speaker 3: I mean, it's just a movie, my guy.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 39:19Speaker 4: When I hear my guy at the end in the
- 39:21Speaker 4: comment section, every time I read it, Is it worse
- 39:25Speaker 4: than Unk for you?
- 39:27Speaker 1: It's right up there with Unk. Why Unk?
- 39:30Speaker 3: Unk is actually worse than Unk.
- 39:32Speaker 1: My guy is worse than Unk?
- 39:34Speaker 4: Not in a greeting form. If I know, what's up
- 39:37Speaker 4: my guy? If you're saying my guy at the end
- 39:40Speaker 4: of something else, at the end of your comment.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Oh, like it's not that serious, my guy?
- 39:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 1: I hate it, dog. Oh, stop. I can't stand it.
- 39:54Speaker 4: Guy just sounds like condescension.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Like, who do you think you talking to, dog? My guy.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Calm down, my guy.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Y'all. I get it.
- 40:08Speaker 4: Like, you know, that's younger. They want to say that.
- 40:11Speaker 4: A lot of super young people, they might actually mean
- 40:14Speaker 4: that in a good way. But uncle is just a
- 40:17Speaker 4: ugly word to me.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Uncle? It's not attractive to the ear. Uncle. Uncle. It's
- 40:23Speaker 1: just a little, uncle.
- 40:26Speaker 4: Something like, if I'm not really your uncle.
- 40:29Speaker 1: I didn't know you had beef with the word uncle.
- 40:32Speaker 3: It's just unattractive. Some words are unattractive.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Uncle, I don't like it.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Uncle is clunky. It feels musky, brown.
- 40:40Speaker 4: Uncle.
- 40:41Speaker 1: Uncle.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Like, yeah.
- 40:43Speaker 2: I never thought about that.
- 40:44Speaker 1: I don't like it. Aunt's cool.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Aunt is fine. Aunt is fine.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Auntie, aunt.
- 40:50Speaker 4: Everything else, uncle is the ugliest family word.
- 40:56Speaker 3: Cousin is fine.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Son, daughter.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Mother, father, pops, papa, everything is fine.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Grandma, granny?
- 41:04Speaker 4: Grandma, granny, something. Now, some women don't like to be,
- 41:08Speaker 4: they don't like granny. No, a lot of young grandmas
- 41:10Speaker 4: don't like granny. Don't call me granny. Angel wants to
- 41:13Speaker 4: go by sugar. Nana, a lot of them like Nana.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Yeah, Nana, Nana, yeah. Meemaw.
- 41:21Speaker 2: I want you to call me grandsire.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 41:24Speaker 1: I want you to Grand Sire. That's what I want.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Game of Thrones level respect. Hello, Grand Sire on stage.
- 41:31Speaker 1: I greet you with my presence. Grand Sire is a lot.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Grand Sire is Ned Stark.
- 41:36Speaker 1: That's a lot, dog. Ravenclaw. Warden of the North. Grand Sire.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Can we go to Six Flags? Man, watch out, man. No,
- 41:45Speaker 1: I think I want my kids to call me Pop Pop.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I like, I think Pop Pop. You talking about the grandkids?
- 41:50Speaker 1: My grandkids. Grandkids. Pop-Pop. I don't know what the grandkids
- 41:53Speaker 1: is going to call.
- 41:54Speaker 4: I never even thought about my grand name.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Yeah, because you don't come across as a grandpa.
- 41:59Speaker 3: My sons call me Pops.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Oh, grandpops. Or father. Yeah. My sons call me father, too.
- 42:05Speaker 3: If I had a daughter, I would call her daughter.
- 42:08Speaker 1: So would I.
- 42:09Speaker 2: I call women daughter because my dad does that.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I would do that for sure. My kids call
- 42:14Speaker 1: me father, and I don't know where they got that from.
- 42:17Speaker 1: And that's funny that the Baker boys- Baker boys use
- 42:19Speaker 1: that sometimes, father. Zay and Joe are father and mother. Oh,
- 42:24Speaker 1: mother too. Yeah, they don't say mom or mommy. Yeah. Mother,
- 42:27Speaker 1: can I do this? I call my mom, ma. I
- 42:30Speaker 1: call my mom, mom, and I call my grandma, Ruthie.
- 42:32Speaker 1: And I call my, Phillip Baker, I call him daddy. Daddy? Yeah,
- 42:37Speaker 1: I always say daddy. Even at your big age.
- 42:40Speaker 3: It just never switched over.
- 42:42Speaker 4: So like, we go in the daddy house, we're like, daddy,
- 42:44Speaker 4: can I- Can we make a sandwich?
- 42:47Speaker 1: Women from the South are big daddy. Yeah. Like, not
- 42:50Speaker 1: big daddy, but they are big people on saying daddy.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Let's just call her her dad daddy.
- 42:56Speaker 4: Yeah. I know it's unusual for men to call their
- 43:00Speaker 4: fathers daddy, but I just never switched over.
- 43:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Y'all talk to daddy. Like, no, I ain't talking
- 43:05Speaker 1: to him. A lot of Southern people do that. Yeah.
- 43:07Speaker 2: On the drop, they call him big daddy.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, they do.
- 43:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:11Speaker 2: I call my dad dad.
- 43:12Speaker 4: Dad.
- 43:13Speaker 1: Dad. Yeah, daddy, mom.
- 43:16Speaker 4: And then my newly discovered father who just passed. I
- 43:18Speaker 4: never had a chance to.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I never got a chance to really.
- 43:23Speaker 4: That's the first time I saw somebody transition.
- 43:26Speaker 1: You thought? I was on the video call. Oh, you
- 43:29Speaker 1: didn't tell me that. Yeah, yeah.
- 43:30Speaker 4: I was on the video call.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Last moment? Mm-hmm.
- 43:34Speaker 4: Because they took him off the respirator Saturday. And so
- 43:38Speaker 4: they got me in on the video call.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Oh, snap. Are you okay to talk about this? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:43Speaker 1: What was that like?
- 43:45Speaker 4: It was, I don't like it.
- 43:47Speaker 1: I can imagine.
- 43:48Speaker 4: Like, I don't like seeing people transition up outta here.
- 43:51Speaker 4: I was just like, no.
- 43:53Speaker 1: And then- They asked you if you wanted to be
- 43:54Speaker 1: in or they- Oh.
- 43:55Speaker 4: Yeah, they was like, you want the video call? They
- 43:57Speaker 4: was sending me the video information.
- 43:58Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, yeah, you know? And I wanted to. Like,
- 44:01Speaker 1: I didn't want to be like, no, I'd rather not. Yeah.
- 44:03Speaker 4: I wanted to be there for Mo, my sister. Because
- 44:06Speaker 4: she was also on the video call because she's in Chicago. Mm-hmm.
- 44:09Speaker 1: And he was in Florida? He's in Florida. Yeah.
- 44:11Speaker 4: So my stepsister and his wife, they was all in
- 44:14Speaker 4: Florida there. And so they had took him off the respirator.
- 44:18Speaker 4: And so they was showing the monitor. We was asking questions. And,
- 44:21Speaker 4: you know, everybody's, like, talking to him, you know, saying stuff.
- 44:24Speaker 4: Hopefully they can hear him. You know what I'm saying?
- 44:26Speaker 4: And so I was just there. I didn't have much
- 44:29Speaker 4: to say. Because I'm new, man. I came at the
- 44:31Speaker 4: end of the movie like, family, y'all. It's like me
- 44:35Speaker 4: coming at the end of Fast and Furious 9.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Just to the dinner party? Yeah, I'm sure. Man, I
- 44:41Speaker 1: got a Caesar salad, y'all. You eat, drive with us. No,
- 44:45Speaker 1: but you know what I'm saying? I just picked up
- 44:47Speaker 1: some garlic bread from western Nebraska.
- 44:50Speaker 3: It's the best garlic bread in three counties, y'all.
- 44:54Speaker 4: I've been Fast and Furious 9 at the end.
- 44:58Speaker 1: These are like family. Speaking of family, we got a
- 45:01Speaker 1: new member now coming. Hey, y'all. Garlic bread. Who is he?
- 45:05Speaker 1: That's Tony, y'all. That's Tony, y'all. Hey, y'all. I know
- 45:08Speaker 1: I missed You know, various explosions. All that. All that stuff.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Passing changes. Japan. You know, your memory was gone. Glad
- 45:22Speaker 1: to have you back. You know. Anyway, so I got
- 45:24Speaker 1: just some mountain spring bottled water. Garlic bread.
- 45:28Speaker 3: I bought some soda. It's the store brand.
- 45:31Speaker 1: It's lemon, lime, and cola. Soda called lemon lime. Yeah,
- 45:35Speaker 1: what brand is that? It's called lemon lime. Literally lemon, lime,
- 45:39Speaker 1: and cola.
- 45:42Speaker 4: I got the dark and the, and the light. I
- 45:44Speaker 4: ain't know which I prefer. Cause I just met y'all.
- 45:47Speaker 4: So go live in line.
- 45:50Speaker 1: But yeah, as a, I do like, this sounds terrible. Uh,
- 45:56Speaker 1: and I would have done the same thing.
- 45:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Uh, I do like when people pass away and they
- 46:02Speaker 1: say he passed away or she passed away surrounded by family. Oh, yeah.
- 46:05Speaker 2: That's how I want to go. I want to go
- 46:07Speaker 2: out with one last joke.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I would love that. If I could time
- 46:11Speaker 1: my death to be like, with a dad joke. Hey, man,
- 46:14Speaker 1: you know what owls have? And that's what she told me.
- 46:27Speaker 1: If I could go out, it don't even matter if
- 46:31Speaker 1: the joke lands or not. I just want to get
- 46:34Speaker 1: one last joke out. And then Reggie said, there ain't
- 46:38Speaker 1: no garlic bread. Yeah. Yeah. There you go, y'all. No,
- 46:49Speaker 1: it's okay.
- 46:52Speaker 4: The funny thing is, now dig this. I want to
- 46:56Speaker 4: go out on an unfinished joke. Now here's the kicker.
- 47:04Speaker 1: You know what would be awful? This is terrible, but
- 47:07Speaker 1: I would love to do something like this. I got
- 47:10Speaker 1: a second will for all of y'all with special amounts
- 47:14Speaker 1: of money. It's in the It's in the what? It's
- 47:22Speaker 1: in the what? What do you mean? And the only
- 47:26Speaker 1: way to access it is to.
- 47:29Speaker 4: You know what would be even worse?
- 47:33Speaker 1: Here's a six-digit pen. Three, six, four, eight. Nine. That's
- 47:41Speaker 1: only five! Dad! Father! It's only five! Get the.
- 47:45Speaker 4: Clear!
- 47:50Speaker 1: I'm back, y'all. Did we start over? Start over from three. Oh, yeah.
- 47:55Speaker 1: The code. So it was 369-12- No!
- 47:56Speaker 4: No!
- 47:56Speaker 1: No! Oh, that would be terrible. That would be so funny, though.
- 48:13Speaker 1: But I don't want to die. I want to be
- 48:15Speaker 1: dead for long, man. I don't want that Jimmy Carter, man.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Don't do me like that. Oh, no.
- 48:19Speaker 4: Don't have me out here looking like Mitch McConnell or whatever.
- 48:23Speaker 4: He's dead.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Come on, man.
- 48:25Speaker 3: He's been out here dead for seven years.
- 48:27Speaker 2: I don't know what he's voting for.
- 48:29Speaker 4: He's propping his ass up. He is filled with chickpeas.
- 48:34Speaker 4: He gone, y'all. Load him up with chickpeas, man.
- 48:38Speaker 1: McConnell thinks he's voting on the Emancipation Proclamation. What is this? Slaves?
- 48:43Speaker 1: All right. We'll say no. Yes. We voted for women's rights.
- 48:49Speaker 1: All right. Oh. We don't know what year it is, man.
- 48:53Speaker 1: We don't know what's happening. So what are we going
- 48:54Speaker 1: to do with John Brown and Abraham Lincoln, y'all?
- 48:58Speaker 4: So John Adams is coming in as the second president, right?
- 49:02Speaker 1: I'll sign it.
- 49:03Speaker 4: What? What?
- 49:06Speaker 1: I'll sign it.
- 49:09Speaker 4: So prohibition is over, correct? Prohibition is over. We're making
- 49:14Speaker 4: changes in the U.S. What are you talking about? Liquor
- 49:18Speaker 4: is now legal again.
- 49:19Speaker 1: What are you talking about, bro?
- 49:24Speaker 4: Brown versus the Board of Education. That's what's hot right now.
- 49:28Speaker 4: I'll tell you what. Me, myself.
- 49:31Speaker 3: Bro, what are you talking about?
- 49:34Speaker 4: Thurgood Marshall came in my office last night raising up
- 49:38Speaker 4: a real stink.
- 49:40Speaker 3: I told him, I said.
- 49:44Speaker 4: A real sneak. So, you know, Frederick Douglass, he and
- 49:47Speaker 4: I are good friends. We had coffee this morning. What
- 49:51Speaker 4: are you signing? What are you talking about? He's still
- 49:56Speaker 4: with chickpeas. It's crazy. Bitch McConnell is filled with chickpeas. Yeah,
- 50:02Speaker 4: the taxidermist come in. Make it look like he's still alive, taxidermist.
- 50:08Speaker 4: He came in, sewed him up, filled him up with stuff.
- 50:11Speaker 4: He propped up out here.
- 50:13Speaker 1: All right.
- 50:14Speaker 2: I hope lanterns come back next year.
- 50:17Speaker 1: For sure. I hope they don't do this.
- 50:19Speaker 3: They better not.
- 50:20Speaker 1: At that budget, it doesn't have to be three and
- 50:23Speaker 1: four years. At that budget, you can do one next year. Yeah.
- 50:28Speaker 1: How long has it been for the Penguin?
- 50:30Speaker 3: Well, they not bringing it back.
- 50:32Speaker 1: They not? No. When did they say that?
- 50:35Speaker 4: They said that a few weeks ago. They like the
- 50:38Speaker 4: penguin not coming back.
- 50:41Speaker 1: No.
- 50:43Speaker 4: And I know the ratings were good and it was
- 50:45Speaker 4: critically acclaimed. I'm like, what do you mean?
- 50:47Speaker 1: But they just set up all the Oswald. He killed
- 50:50Speaker 1: Vic for nothing then. Trash. Come on.
- 50:55Speaker 4: So now, you know, even though they renewed Lanterns, I'm like,
- 50:57Speaker 4: y'all better hold to that renew.
- 50:59Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't know they renewed Lanterns.
- 51:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought I read that.
- 51:03Speaker 2: No, I didn't know.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:04Speaker 2: I didn't know they canceled Penguins. I didn't know they
- 51:05Speaker 2: renewed line.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Oh, Colin.
- 51:07Speaker 3: Somebody said Colin said no, the makeup is too much
- 51:09Speaker 3: for him.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Oh, that makes sense. That makes sense for sure. He
- 51:13Speaker 1: was so good. He said, man, ain't no Penguin. Yeah.
- 51:16Speaker 2: I could see myself being like, uh-uh.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Oh, you know me.
- 51:20Speaker 4: You know if I ain't feeling it, then I ain't
- 51:23Speaker 4: doing it.
- 51:24Speaker 1: Come on, man. They offered you $ 60 million.
- 51:27Speaker 4: $ 70 million for the season.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Six hours. That make up like six hours, eight hours?
- 51:33Speaker 1: Yeah. Man, watch. Episodic. Episodic? Yeah.
- 51:36Speaker 2: That's months of that. You can't do nothing else?
- 51:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:40Speaker 3: That's a lot.
- 51:41Speaker 2: He was so good, though. Nah, he was the penguin, man.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Yeah. So I feel him. Yeah. I can't be mad
- 51:47Speaker 1: at that. But I feel like Jon Stewart, I mean,
- 51:50Speaker 1: Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler. Come on, y'all. They can
- 51:55Speaker 1: keep that going. Keep that going. I just would be
- 51:57Speaker 1: really curious about what they would do. Because that Who
- 52:00Speaker 1: Shot How, Find the Manhunter thing, they had just enough
- 52:02Speaker 1: stuff to do. Yeah. I'd be really curious about what
- 52:05Speaker 1: they're going to do in season two.
- 52:06Speaker 4: It's got to be Sinestro heavy.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Has to be. He got to be the big bad.
- 52:10Speaker 1: For sure. And they set him up. They did.
- 52:13Speaker 3: They set him up nice.
- 52:14Speaker 1: Yeah. He's, you know, get him his ring back. He
- 52:17Speaker 1: made the lantern and stuff. He's like, is it working?
- 52:19Speaker 1: He's like, nigga.
- 52:20Speaker 3: I would like to see a good old yellow green back.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Alright, we done with that. Let's touch on the
- 52:28Speaker 1: drop real quick. We've been talking almost an hour. Let
- 52:34Speaker 1: me refresh. Was it the drop episode four?
- 52:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Was it four?
- 52:40Speaker 2: Because I've been watching it in the morning.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Is it four? I feel like it was four. I
- 52:46Speaker 1: think it's four.
- 52:48Speaker 4: It's the drop episode four, right? The last one that
- 52:51Speaker 4: That was last week.
- 52:52Speaker 1: This is the one, yes, where Dara pulled up to
- 52:58Speaker 1: Leon at the end.
- 52:58Speaker 4: Yes.
- 53:00Speaker 1: I'm trying to be your woman. She rolled up.
- 53:02Speaker 4: Yeah. This thing got a lot of buzz going and
- 53:05Speaker 4: a lot of people talking about it, but one thing
- 53:08Speaker 4: I don't like about that moment. It's the music playing
- 53:11Speaker 4: in the background.
- 53:12Speaker 1: It was corny. I choose you. I choose you. You
- 53:14Speaker 1: know what's funny about that? I watched that episode and
- 53:16Speaker 1: I sent that clip to Alyssa because I was like,
- 53:18Speaker 1: you should watch this show. I told her at first,
- 53:21Speaker 1: I was like, oh, it's cool. But after episode two,
- 53:24Speaker 1: I was like, oh, no, no, you should watch it.
- 53:26Speaker 1: I don't remember the music being that loud. I thought
- 53:30Speaker 1: somebody added that. So I was trying to find a
- 53:32Speaker 1: clip without the music. And I said, oh, the show
- 53:35Speaker 1: put that in there.
- 53:36Speaker 4: It did, man.
- 53:36Speaker 1: It was over the top.
- 53:38Speaker 3: She already was choosing you. I'm like, man, cut the
- 53:41Speaker 3: music off.
- 53:42Speaker 1: It was loud. She was walking hard. It was just...
- 53:46Speaker 1: I thought she was gay.
- 53:47Speaker 3: I didn't think that. I didn't think that because the way.
- 53:52Speaker 4: She might be bi because she was kicking it with
- 53:54Speaker 4: them strippers, tough.
- 53:55Speaker 1: But I feel like women can be at strip clubs
- 53:57Speaker 1: and indulge in women and be straight.
- 53:59Speaker 3: That's facts.
- 53:59Speaker 1: They be like, you know, the booty, the.
- 54:01Speaker 4: Fat booty at a strip club when the strip day
- 54:02Speaker 4: and they're getting worked over and just talking.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Yeah, titties is, I feel like everybody appreciates titties.
- 54:08Speaker 4: The best time to go to a strip club is
- 54:10Speaker 4: going with women.
- 54:12Speaker 1: Aw. I've never been.
- 54:13Speaker 4: That's the best time to do it.
- 54:16Speaker 1: With women?
- 54:16Speaker 3: When you go to the strip.
- 54:18Speaker 4: Club with women that are already with you, the dancers
- 54:21Speaker 4: are more relaxed with you.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Really? Yeah.
- 54:26Speaker 4: Because they think you're less creepy because you brought some
- 54:29Speaker 4: women in here with you. So they're relaxed.
- 54:31Speaker 3: They're more comfortable with the girls that you brought with you.
- 54:34Speaker 4: It's just a better vibe when you go to the
- 54:36Speaker 4: strip club with women.
- 54:38Speaker 1: That's very interesting to me. It's great. It's great. It's great.
- 54:43Speaker 4: But sometimes, depending, I remember when I went with Sabrina
- 54:48Speaker 4: and her friend, I gave them money to give to
- 54:51Speaker 4: the dancers, but they were blowing it all on one dancer.
- 54:54Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, hey, y'all blowing it.
- 54:57Speaker 1: All on one.
- 54:58Speaker 4: Oh man, we actually like this one. Y'all running out
- 55:00Speaker 4: of cash. 40 minutes in, you know? But yeah, when
- 55:07Speaker 4: she rolled up and put her bid in.
- 55:10Speaker 1: She put her bid in right as Wanda said, we
- 55:13Speaker 1: are better as friends, right? She came right on time.
- 55:16Speaker 4: Hips, hips, hips. They set it up at the diner
- 55:20Speaker 4: when she was like, oh, is this you? Because I
- 55:22Speaker 4: could tell the way she was looking at Leon. She
- 55:25Speaker 4: was like, okay, this is your little girlfriend, whatever.
- 55:27Speaker 1: That's my ex.
- 55:28Speaker 3: She was always vocal about it.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Very loud.
- 55:31Speaker 4: And then she said that and I had a woman
- 55:35Speaker 4: roll up on me like she did before.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Like Dara did? Yeah. With another woman or straight up?
- 55:41Speaker 4: No, no. She rolled up on me straight up. This
- 55:43Speaker 4: was in high school. I was a virgin at the time,
- 55:45Speaker 4: so I was still scared shitless, right?
- 55:47Speaker 1: I'll never forget.
- 55:48Speaker 3: Tasha, I'm not going to say her last name.
- 55:49Speaker 1: I'm going to give her the full government. Full government.
- 55:52Speaker 3: Her name was Tasha. We went to school together. This
- 55:55Speaker 3: was high school.
- 55:56Speaker 4: She walked in my garage and walked up just like
- 55:59Speaker 4: she did, put her bed in. I've been checking you out.
- 56:02Speaker 4: I've been watching you. I've been seeing you in the hallways.
- 56:05Speaker 1: You don't smell like booty.
- 56:07Speaker 4: I didn't smell like booty, man. You know, Kenya Jones
- 56:10Speaker 4: said me correct. But she put her bed in just
- 56:14Speaker 4: like she did.
- 56:14Speaker 1: What'd you do?
- 56:15Speaker 4: I fumbled, dog. I folded up. I did nothing, Kev.
- 56:22Speaker 4: I did a hot. I was scared shitless. I didn't
- 56:29Speaker 4: know how to handle. I didn't know what to do, man.
- 56:33Speaker 4: But she was attractive. It wasn't like somebody that wasn't like,
- 56:36Speaker 4: you know, I was like, cause then fast forward, she
- 56:39Speaker 4: started dating one of my brother's friends.
- 56:43Speaker 1: And I was just like, oh man, you know what
- 56:45Speaker 1: I'm saying?
- 56:45Speaker 3: Oh damn, you be Jerry now, huh?
- 56:48Speaker 4: Damn.
- 56:48Speaker 1: She was like, it could have been you. Did you
- 56:50Speaker 1: even say anything?
- 56:52Speaker 3: In the moment, I was like, oh, snap.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Okay.
- 56:54Speaker 4: She wasn't expecting me to be like, make a decision
- 56:57Speaker 4: right here and there.
- 56:57Speaker 1: But I was like, oh, okay.
- 56:59Speaker 4: Gave me her number. I called her maybe like once
- 57:02Speaker 4: or twice. I didn't follow up. Come on, Tony.
- 57:06Speaker 1: I was scared, man. I can't do it like that.
- 57:08Speaker 1: I did that same thing in like fifth grade. I
- 57:11Speaker 1: can't remember the girl's name. Like you, you remember the
- 57:14Speaker 1: womb stories. Yeah. But she was the finest girl in
- 57:17Speaker 1: fifth grade. And I was at a dance. And I
- 57:20Speaker 1: had nobody to dance with, but I was having a
- 57:22Speaker 1: good time. Cause I was like, you know what I'm saying?
- 57:24Speaker 1: I'm cool. I'm here. I'm doing my thing. But I
- 57:26Speaker 1: had like seen her from across the way and I
- 57:28Speaker 1: had a crush on her, but she was like finest
- 57:29Speaker 1: girl in the school. Like I'm not, I have the
- 57:32Speaker 1: confidence I have now to pull up. Man, she beelined
- 57:36Speaker 1: over to me and was like, I want to dance
- 57:38Speaker 1: with you. Oh snap. And I was like, that was
- 57:44Speaker 1: like Forrest Gump. She was like, did you hear me?
- 57:49Speaker 1: She's like, did you hear me? I want to dance
- 57:54Speaker 1: with you. You just stood there.
- 57:59Speaker 4: I just stood there, too.
- 58:01Speaker 1: I was just like. I couldn't say a word.
- 58:05Speaker 3: I was just like.
- 58:06Speaker 1: She was like, all right, then. And she stormed off.
- 58:14Speaker 3: You just shut off.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Shut off. I turned into Mitch McConnell. When she asked
- 58:21Speaker 1: me to dance, I was like... You was filled with cheese.
- 58:26Speaker 1: I was just like... And she got so mad.
- 58:31Speaker 3: Did you look at her?
- 58:32Speaker 1: I was looking right in her face. She thought I was...
- 58:40Speaker 1: I think she thought I was like ignoring her. So
- 58:44Speaker 1: I went to the bathroom and... I'm so dramatic. I
- 58:48Speaker 1: went to the bathroom, busted the door, went straight to
- 58:51Speaker 1: the mirror, just like that meme. I was like, don't
- 58:53Speaker 1: you ever let that happen again. Don't you ever let
- 58:56Speaker 1: that happen again, Kevin. Loud. You talk. You talk, Kevin.
- 59:07Speaker 1: And from that moment on, nobody ever rolled up on
- 59:09Speaker 1: me like that.
- 59:10Speaker 2: Ever again, straight up. That was my one moment. At
- 59:13Speaker 2: least you talked.
- 59:14Speaker 1: I was just like, I was able to respond. I
- 59:18Speaker 1: love the Lord. I just couldn't even move. I was, bro,
- 59:22Speaker 1: it was like Holly Berry. You was frozen solid. I
- 59:26Speaker 1: was like, Hi, Miss Berry. I literally didn't say a word.
- 59:30Speaker 1: She never talked to me again for the whole school year.
- 59:32Speaker 1: Of course not. Yeah, I think she thought I was
- 59:34Speaker 1: trying to play her, and I just was like, I'm not.
- 59:36Speaker 1: We can't talk. I don't care who are you.
- 59:40Speaker 4: So you never even tried to say, hey, I want
- 59:42Speaker 4: to apologize for.
- 59:45Speaker 1: I took my L like a man. I was so
- 59:48Speaker 1: glad my dad got orders after that. I was like,
- 59:50Speaker 1: all right, next school year. That was the one benefit
- 59:53Speaker 1: about being a military kid. I took that mad. Get
- 59:56Speaker 1: the hell out of there. In fifth grade, we was
- 59:57Speaker 1: in a new state the next year, and I was like,
- 59:59Speaker 1: what up, y'all? It's your boy Kev on stage. Back
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: at it again with another video. We got with that.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: All that stuff I did in Virginia, man, that can't die.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: I literally gained so much confidence that day for everybody
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: else after her.
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: That version of you still standing there. That exact spot.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: It's just skin.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: It's how Jordan was sitting. I basically was how Jordan.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: So thematically, I love that episode of The Drop. It
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: was about grief and moving on and how Leon and
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Wanda couldn't move on from the baby. They both doing different.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Leon is stuck in memory lane. He drinking and going
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: through pictures. That was a nice way to include Franklin. Yeah,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: it was. By the way, I thought that was too, yeah.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: You and him drinking and going over memories. He was
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: doing it. Wouldn't there be no one? Yeah. She didn't
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: even need to see him doing it.
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: He was exactly doing that. Dang, that's exactly what I was-
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: Drinking and reminiscing.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Yeah. He was like Polaroid. He was like, man, dog.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: And the good old days. The good old days. We
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: went through a lot. Man. Fatback. Franklin Saint. And they
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: lost a child.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: And they lost a child.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: It's kind of karmic a little bit.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: He was responsible for the death of a child in Snowfall.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: You know, that energy came right on back and round.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Yep. We're going to have to collect. We got to. Yeah.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: And then on the other side, you go to Big
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: Daddy and- Was it Gertie or something?
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: Mama D. Mama D.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: But what does he call her? Is her name Gertie
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: or something?
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: I don't know what he calls her. Either way. I
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: thought he'd be soft on her, though. He do. He's
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: doing such a good job. Yeah, he's big soft. She
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: smacked fire out of Wanda, though. She did. She getting
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: on my nerves. She is.
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: And I don't think she was on the phone.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: No, me neither.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: I don't think she was on the phone.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: She wasn't on the phone. I think she just didn't
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: have the ovaries to talk to Wanda straight up. Wanda
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: was calling her out on her BS. Yep. She was
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: on the phone. Fake.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: And talking to her. So, oh yeah, I told her this.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: What happened to the daughter, man? Just tell us.
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: You holding your family hostage. These boys are trying to
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: do something. You holding your family hostage with this shit.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: What did she do? They making it seem like music
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: got a gun and killed her. Like the tape was like.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: Like music came in the house like, where she at?
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: No, music, please. No, fuck that.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: He was just a walking musical note.
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: Yeah. No, no! Stabbed the daughter, you know those lines
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: on the musical page? Stabbed her with one of those
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: lines like. Yeah, you remember music did this to her.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: You remember that, he stormed off. It was a melody
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: when he went out the door. That's what she carrying
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: on like.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: I'm like, enough, man.
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: James is just, he's... James is getting defeated internally, man.
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: He was just sitting there on the piano just done.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Man, he got no soul.
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: His flame is just flickering off. He's just like, I'm trying, man.
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: You want to come with us and celebrate? I'll go ahead, man.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Man, he got nothing left on him. He running out
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: of steam. He was just like.
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: He like, man, I need that. His West Coast accent
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: is getting.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: Softer around the edges. He's like, I need that.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: Hey, man, which one of y'all marks hit my brother, man?
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Right. Tell him J-Loco. Tell him J-Loco's here, man.
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: I would like to have a parlay, if you will.
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: If y'all got the time. If not, I understand.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: Hey, pick up y'all homie, man. He in there asleep.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: I actually wouldn't mind. I wouldn't even care if he
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: knocked me out. I don't know. I don't even care
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: about this, man. I wanted him to knock me out.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Just the hits didn't hit. It's just whatever, yo. I
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: wanted him to knock me out so I could feel something, man.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: It's actually, this gang violence and being in jail is
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: much better than my home life. The tension is so
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: thick you could cut it with a knife. Is there
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: anybody I can talk to about this, man? I'm actually
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: going through a lot right now. Mama G is the worst, man.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: She gets on my nerves, man.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: Because grief can be paralyzing, man.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: It can be. You get stuck. She's paralyzed by grief. Yeah.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: Grief can.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: If you don't... Grief be like, no.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: You going... I love that she's trying to go through...
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: It's holding Lamar back. It's holding the husband back. It's
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: holding James back. It's holding her back. It's holding Wanda back.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: It's right in your face. The nigga played, full on crit,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: played the piano beautifully. I mean, I thought he didn't
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: remember the song when it kicked in. I was like,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: this nigga Stevie Wonder now. And he's like, this is
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: our song. And they just couldn't even connect.
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: So hopefully within this next episode, she can finally release
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: what she.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Got to release. And tell us what happened. I can't
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: put up with this all season. Mama Dingo had to
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: get it together. He was mad at Lamar until he
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: got socked out.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: Lamar didn't get on my nerves in episode four.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Nah, they pulled it back a little bit.
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: They pulled it back just in time. Because once you
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: get on my nerves too much, I never recover. I mean,
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: you got on my nerves for three consecutive episodes. That's
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: it for you.
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: Like Tariq and Power, man.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: I hated Tariq, so I never even watched the other series.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: Everybody was like, no, he cool, and I don't give
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: a fuck.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: He lost me.
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: But, yeah, so I need them to handle it.
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: Because I get it, like, as far as the Wanda
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: side of it, I get it because she probably did
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: all kinds of stuff to them when she was cracked out.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: I get that.
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: So I get that because I'm not a very, forgiveness
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: is not my strong suit.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Me neither. You can die over there. You can die
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: over there where you belong. There's a scene in The
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Founder where Ray Kroc says, you know, you just want
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: to defeat your enemy. If your enemy was to drown
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: and you pull your hand in, The difference between me
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: and you is I put a water hose in his mouth,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: duct tape it, and turn it on. And I was like,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: hell yeah. That's what I'm talking about, Ray. That's what
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: the hell I'm talking about. Y'all could die on that side.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: It's up forever with me. You either with me or
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: you against me. And once you against me, it's up
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: and it's stuck. And I don't even like that about myself,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: but I can't change. I will either kill for you
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: or hope you die. No in between. As God is
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: my witness, you can die over there. You cross me,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: I will let a pack of rabid animals kill you
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: and I have a machine gun with tranquilizer dots and
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: I'll shoot them into the ground. You need the antidote?
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: What antidote?
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: You put the antidote in the bullet chamber and fire
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: it into oblivion. There's your antidote.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: I'm so sorry.
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: I don't even like watching people die off, but I'm
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: watching this.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: I'm making an exception for you.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: Woo! That's how I am, man.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Did you fuck me over?
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Oh, man. I can't unsee it.
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: It's all I see. I'm sorry, man. I accept you.
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: I hear your apology. I'm Michael Corleone. We still done.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: I kissed you in the mouth. Never go against a
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: family Fredo.
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: Never.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: Your dad.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: He straight lied to everybody. No, I would never kill
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: my brother.
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: That's my word.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: As soon as his mother died, I'd kill that nigga
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: on the boat.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: There's a scene in The Sopranos. I'm rewatching The Sopranos
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: on the tour. And this dude, Tony Soprano, him and
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Big Pussy was going to kill him. He was begging
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: for his life. And they had him in the thing.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: And he was scared. He was peeing. And I was like,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: it's OK, man. We're not going to do nothing, man.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: You thirsty? Get him something to drink, Pussy. Pussy gets
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: him a drink. And he was like, oh, you good?
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: He was like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I remember that.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: He was like, mama! He let you get something to drink. Pow, pow, pow, pow, pow.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Call me a little spirit, man. Man. But you still
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: got to go. I got to go. You got to go.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: I got to go. All right, man. What else you
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: got on the drop?
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: I also wanted to say on the drop, so Lee
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: took advantage of the roll-up. When she rolled up and
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: put her beard in, he had to hit that night, man. Fellas, man,
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: let these women work for it.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: Because I would have been like, the way she would
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: have rolled up, I'd have been like, hey, I probably
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: would have took her down eventually, but not that night.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: You always say we have to work for her.
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: Dudes, man, we be giving it up too easy, man.
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: Let these women, you know what I'm saying? Like, If
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: a woman rolled up on me like that, I.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: Would be like, oh, word. Then we would talk.
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: We would hang out. It's not going to be no
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: that night you in my sweater.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Nah, man.
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: She put a respectable bid in, though. The bid was great.
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: She did it in front of Wanda, so it wasn't
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: no behind the back.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: And Wanda did all that. What you want them to do, Tone?
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Wait till next Thursday?
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: Nah, I'm just saying, like, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: You can at least be like, all right, let's chop
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: it up.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: Let's talk.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: He was like, the night of.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: I respect your offer. Absolutely, I see your call, I call,
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: I fold.
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: I'm not an easy smash.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: You got to catch me in the moment.
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: You got to be like, we got to be hanging
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: out talking because I am impulsive sometimes. I'll just go
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: in for the smooch and then whatever happens, happens. But
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: if it's like you put.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: Your beard in, you let me know what it is,
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: I'm like, all right, we'll bet. We're going to link up.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: But just not that night. It ain't going to be like,
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: let me drop Wanda off and come over there and,
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: you know.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: If that was Liz, if Liz was Dara and I
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: was breaking up with somebody else, Wanda, take an Uber.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: We don't even have Uber. Make it enough. I'm actually, Wanda,
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: take this car. I'm riding with the Bloods. The guys
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: in her car, she's like, scoot over, punk. Also, you
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: scoot over. I'm riding with y'all. Wanda, I'll pick my
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: car up later. You would have gotten the car with them.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: With the Bloods. Yeah, man. She promised me some coochie.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: I'm going to go ahead. Because I don't want her
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: to change her mind. She put her bid in. Yes.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: Excuse me, Wanda. You said friends, right?
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: I'm going to be like, all right, your little cousins
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: is in there still.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: Round them up.
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: I'm going to ride with them. You know how to drive.
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: You've been driving for a long time. You got the keys.
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: You know where I live.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: Matter of fact, no.
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: I'm going to take her down at my crib. So
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: just keep the car at your place. I'll just pick
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: it up some other time. I'm taking her down tonight.
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: She's going to be in my sweater.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: We friends, right? We friends, right? You said. We friends, right?
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: You said, you think Wanda gonna come back? Because, you know,
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: women love her. We friends until somebody else is interested.
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: Here's where I think they're gonna go with that little piece.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: Because I really don't feel like.
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: Wanda is gonna be that jealous of that situation.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: I just don't feel that right now. Really?
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't really feel that right now.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: But what I do feel is going to be a
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: problem later on down the line is that Lee and
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: Dara are going to.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Get super close.
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: DG still wants their revenge on her ass. So that's
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: going to create... He is just.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: He just waiting. Yes. He just waiting. That's unresolved. For sure.
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: He going to get his get back on her.
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: So what I think is going to happen is Lee
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: and Dara are going to get closer and closer, get
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: the real feelings going. He going to come back for
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: that revenge and she might get killed or attacked or whatever.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: He's going to bring Lee right back.
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: Lee is going to have a violent score to settle
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: with that. That's what I think. That's why I think
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: that road is going. That would be great riding.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: Because I really don't feel like Wanda is going to
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: be tripping, tripping like that.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: No, because she could have had them. For sure. Sometimes
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: that competitive, women be more competitive than they let on. Yeah.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: A lot of times they, a lot of men have
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: said the amount of attention they get from women when
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: they're single versus when they're with somebody, it's like the
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: validation of somebody having you. Yeah. Being with you, people will,
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: even if they don't know, it just seems like something
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: about you is more attractive. Right. So I can see
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: that happening as well as her being like, because she
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: does seem laser focused on the music.
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: She's genuinely focused on the music. I feel like she
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: has genuine love for Lee, but they just got a
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: complicated history.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: They're missing each other.
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: Yeah, so I really feel like she's probably in a
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: space where she wants what's best for him.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: Whatever that looks like.
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: But I think For story purposes, it's going to be
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: just a complication for Lee, Dara, and DJ getting his
- 1:13:10Speaker 4: get back.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: Yeah. When they stripped him down his drawers. Yeah. And
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: he had the orange drawers. He ain't forgot about that.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: He had on briefs, man.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: He ain't forgot about that, though. And she's behind that.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: She was in front of it, Tone. She wasn't even hiding.
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: It was like, Like that always was your plan. You
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: was never going to take the deal. She was like, no,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: I'm going to embarrass you just because I don't like
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: the way you talk to me. And I was never
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: going to like the way you talk to me because
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: I don't like you. Also, I love, it was an
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: episode ago, they kind of hinted that Wanda is addicted
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: to this music game the same way she was addicted
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: to drugs. Like, remember she was climbing the window. She
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: was doing whatever it could to get crack. She's doing whatever.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: I mean, it's more healthy, obviously. But she's doing whatever
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: she has to do. to get the masters, just as manipulative,
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: just as, like, it's the same. The music is the drug.
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: She got an addictive personality.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: She does.
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: It just so happens with this case, it's legit.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: You can be addicted, too. Like, I'm addicted to work.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: I be on my phone all the time. I can't wait.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: I'm having a great time on this podcast. As soon
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: as I get done, I got so many emails to
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: answer for, man, I said, woo! I'm going to get
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: me a pumpkin chai on the way home, my little
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: treat for a long day. I treat myself after these Tuesdays.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Tony. I go to Sweet Green. I go
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: to Sweet. Last week I had a pumpkin pie mini.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: And a pumpkin drink. I was pumpkin overdosed. He was
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: Pumpkin McGee, man. He was Pumpkin Spice, man. I was like,
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: Starbucks opened that up just for me. I was like,
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: you know, sometimes a restaurant make a thing. It's like,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: now I know y'all, this is a product that I
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: am loving. You was the hobgoblin. A mini pumpkin pie tone?
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: Two bites? Yeah. Because I always, you know, I love
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: pumpkin pie, but I'm not eating a whole pumpkin pie.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: Why not?
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: I love it for real. You got a sickness. You
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: don't have to eat everything, man. That's my problem. You
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: don't have to eat it. I can actually open, get
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: a whole pumpkin pie, eat a slice or two, trash
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: the rest. That's what you lose. You be like. I
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: will finish that.
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: If I'm trying to be cute, two days on the pie.
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: You give me a banana cream pie in my house.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: Tonight.
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: I send a banana cream pie to you tonight.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Two days. The whole pie? How much are you eating
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: in one sitting? Or you just keep coming back, slice McGee?
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: Because if it's just me in the house, I ain't
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: got to slice nothing. I just come in, raw spoon,
- 1:15:44Speaker 4: just keep spooning it on.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: Let me get another spoon. Let me get another spoon.
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: Let me get Cass looking at me like, let me
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: get another spoon.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Next thing you know.
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: This was my past birthday this year. I got a
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: birthday cake. And that mug got finished off within like
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: four days.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: Just you?
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: She cake or circle?
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: It was like a circle. But it was a big cake.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: But it was circle though.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: Why do you feel the need to eat everything all gone?
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: Because it was.
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: Good and I wanted to get it out my house
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: and out my face.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: You can throw it away.
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: I don't like wasting the food though.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: So I would rather just eat it all and just get...
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: I'd rather just gorge for two days and get it
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: out of there.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: I can't do that. Yeah. I can eat.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: I can be like, man, I want a soda. I
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: know I shouldn't have soda.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: Sip, sip, sip, throw away.
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: You'll be like, I got it. I have a two
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: liter now.
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: But I could be off this stuff for months.
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: I know. But it'd be like. You are no in
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: between when it comes to that.
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: Because all that Cheesecake Factory stuff y'all got me, I
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: ain't get none of it.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: The biscuits? What Cheesecake Factory?
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: I probably had like a couple biscuits out of that.
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: All that food y'all sent to my house.
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: Mean Angel pranked you? Yeah. I got rid of everything.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: But you gave that away. Yeah.
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: But that's not wasting.
- 1:17:01Speaker 4: No, no, it wasn't wasting, but I resisted everything.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:17:04Speaker 4: When I get into that mode where it's just like,
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: all right, I'm indulging this. Banana cream pie in the house,
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: two days.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: Tony Bacon. Two days. Y'all live again. Tony Bacon has
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: never died. Man, I ate over. I had this past week,
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: I was like, man, this tour, boy, I be lying
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: to myself. I said, man, this tour, I'm not drinking.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: I'm sweet greens, healthy stuff. Man, I woke up. Greg
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: and Josh caught me, told. I had a whole pizza.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: I ordered a whole pizza in Columbus. Because the Crossroads
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: Hotel is a pizza place. It was like, Ohio pizza
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: and brews. And I was just, I felt like it
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: was winking at me. So from that moment, I was like,
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna have pizza. Man, I ordered a
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: whole pizza, six-piece barbecue wing, six-piece buffalo wing, potato skins,
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: a can of Dr. Pepper, and a 20-ounce of Sprite.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: But you didn't finish nothing. Nah. But I was like, pizza, soda, potato, chips, skins,
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: other soda, pizza. And I just looked in the mirror.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: I was like, don't look at me. Then woke up
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: the next morning. We go to the airport. Robot pizza.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: I was like. pizza again. It was 9-12. So Josh
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: was like, did you have pizza last night? Because I
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: try to get the pizza by myself. But when it came,
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: Greg and Josh were downstairs. It was like, who's this for?
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: And I was like, me. Me. The pizza's for me.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: That's the thing.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Like, if I, I'll just zone in on one thing.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: It'd be like a jar of peanut butter, banana cream pie.
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: Like, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: It will rarely be like pizza wings, potato wedges, and
- 1:18:56Speaker 4: it would just be that one.
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: Like even Pete, like when I go to Chicago, I'll
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: get a pizza.
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. It's usually thin crust. Thin crust. I'll murder
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: the thin crust.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: We don't do DiGiorno's and Lou Malnati's. That's just special occasions.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: Watch out, man. That's true, man. You know we don't
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: do deep dish every day. We do Italian fiesta, sausage
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: and cheese. Tavern style. Tavern style. Everybody knows that about us.
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Watch out, though. DiGiorno's, man, that's for graduations and stuff
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: and for out of town when people come out of
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: town to visit us. But just on a Friday night, man,
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: tavern style. No, the robot pizza was great. The robot
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: pizza tasted like regular Donato's pizza. I actually couldn't believe it.
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: So was the pizza across from the hotel good too?
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: Yes. Wait, where were you?
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: No, that place was closed.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: I ordered it on Uber Eats.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: The pizza you had was in Chicago?
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: No, no, it was in Columbus.
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: Oh, you wasn't even in Chicago.
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: I was in Chicago. You didn't get no pizza in Chicago?
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: That's what's crazy.
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: You was going to pizza out.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: Because I didn't have time.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: The airport robot pizza was there.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, this is great. It'll be
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: a great video.
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: And it was good. It was great. And that video
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: did crazy good. People were mad, like, I'll never eat
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: a robot pizza. And I was like, okay. I don't
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: know what y'all want me to say. Congrats. All right.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: We're done with this.
