- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome back to the Elon Musk Podcast.
- 0:05This is a show where we discuss the critical Crossroads, The
- 0:08Shape, SpaceX, Tesla X, The Boring Company, and Neuralink.
- 0:13And I'm your host, Will Walden. Today's episode was recorded
- 0:17live on our YouTube channel at Space News Pod.
- 0:21So go check us out every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:00 Eastern
- 0:25Time if you want more Starship content like this.
- 0:29It's about an hour long. It's a free flow conversation.
- 0:32No scripts. I just go for it, talk about
- 0:34Starship in an unfiltered way. So please enjoy.
- 0:39Today we're going to be talking about Starship because there's a
- 0:41lot of stuff happening at Starbase.
- 0:44The booster has been moved back. Booster 10 has been moved back
- 0:48to the production facility, where it'll undergo maintenance.
- 0:51It'll undergo a test, like a bunch of tests.
- 0:55So it'll be ready for flight in the next.
- 0:57So we'll talk about that a little bit because it might be a
- 1:00little bit sound coming through. Star Traveler 29.
- 1:03Thank you so much for that. Also.
- 1:04Happy New Year, everybody. Happy New Year.
- 1:06Hope you're doing great and had a great holiday.
- 1:09And we're going to be doing more of these live streams this year.
- 1:11So that's my commitment to you. Every Tuesday and Thursday,
- 1:13we're going to do a live stream at 3:00 PM Eastern Time.
- 1:16So please stay tuned and TuneIn every Tuesday and Thursday.
- 1:20I haven't done live streams in a long time, but I really love
- 1:23them so much. So we're going to continue doing
- 1:25them just so we can continue with Starship updates with each
- 1:29other and hang out. With that being said, let's get
- 1:33into it. Booster 10, move back to the
- 1:36production facility will undergo any sort of refurbishment.
- 1:40They're going to check out all the piping, all the tubes, all
- 1:43the engines, things that happened during the static fire
- 1:45test and what when they did some cryo fuelling and cryo filling
- 1:50and fuel filling and stuff like that.
- 1:52Booster 10, back to production facility.
- 1:54The ship. We're not sure if it's going to
- 1:57be moving back. Hey, what's up, Debs?
- 1:59How you doing? The great thing is the ship has
- 2:02been static fired. Everything looks great with the
- 2:06ship. And not 100% sure what they're
- 2:10going to be doing with this thing because there's a few
- 2:13options here that SpaceX could do.
- 2:16And we'll talk about that in a little bit, too.
- 2:18Debs, thanks for the Super chat. Thank you.
- 2:20I don't know if I have my alerts on.
- 2:22Oh, I hope I do. Because if so.
- 2:25Oh, Debs, I don't think I got my alerts.
- 2:28I'm in trouble. New Year.
- 2:31Oh, I'm sorry. Let's see if I can get it.
- 2:36I'm sorry. See if I can get it in here.
- 2:38Maybe. Oh, I don't know.
- 2:40I think I messed it up. The ship.
- 2:43The ship. Nice, Nice voice there.
- 2:45The ship is moving, possibly moving back to production Field
- 2:49City. But we're not 100% sure about
- 2:50that because the ship has been static, fired successfully
- 2:54numerous times, and it looks like SpaceX is just moving on
- 2:58with the booster at this point. They're going to check out all
- 3:00the plumbing, make sure everything was great.
- 3:02And that's like I said, back in the production facility and the
- 3:07ship, they might just leave it where it is and do some
- 3:10preliminary testing with it there because there could have
- 3:15been some tile damage, there could have been something kind
- 3:17of shaken loose. So they have thousands of
- 3:19sensors in the ship and the booster and both of those were
- 3:25they collected data from both of those during these tests and
- 3:28they know what could be wrong and what's absolutely right now.
- 3:33So SpaceX is going to do what they got to do to get this
- 3:37flight ready for IFT three. There we go, Debs, what about
- 3:41that? So if you Super chat, Super
- 3:44sticker, become a member, anything like that, you get a
- 3:47Starship launch with your name on it.
- 3:49So thank you so much for that, Debs.
- 3:50I appreciate that. You're going to get 2 Starship
- 3:53launches, 2 1/2, let's do 2 1/2. So we're going to stage
- 3:55separation and maybe not a booster landing 'cause he did
- 3:59the 2 1/2 or it was 1 1/2 so he get 2 1/2 whatever.
- 4:02But we're just going to have a fun time today.
- 4:04This stream is chill. We're we're talking like just
- 4:08hang out. We're just hanging out talking
- 4:09about Starship. So right now it looks like
- 4:13Booster's good, ship's good and they're going to be doing the
- 4:18preliminary test like I said. So what do they do?
- 4:21They check out the plumbing, they check out everything
- 4:24inside, make sure everything is structurally sound before they
- 4:27do the flight, IFT 3 flight. And there are some things after
- 4:32what the booster did today when it moved back to the production
- 4:35facility there, they have to do with the whole system.
- 4:39The system is huge. Round systems, booster ship,
- 4:43etcetera have to do everything and they're gonna be doing that
- 4:47within the next possible month ish.
- 4:52Just to do the checkouts of those things.
- 4:54So what we're gonna do now is take a look at there's a there
- 4:58was a booster firing on August 28th.
- 5:02OK. So we're gonna, we're gonna go
- 5:04back in time a little bit. So August 28th, 2023, right.
- 5:08We have August 28th, 2023 booster static fire August and
- 5:14then we go September, October, November till the liftoff of
- 5:20Starship right here. So this is just from from
- 5:24SpaceX. That in it's like November, like
- 5:27mid November, so August, end of August to middle of November, so
- 5:314:00-ish months between the booster static fire and the
- 5:36actual ship launch, the full launch of IFT 2.
- 5:40So we know that they were working with the FAA closely.
- 5:44The incident report between IFT One and IFT 2, so IFT One, we
- 5:50know it didn't go very well at all, Like they collected a lot
- 5:53of data. Sure they did, but they didn't
- 5:56really get as far as what a lot of people expected.
- 6:00Myself, I was expecting them to make it past the pad stage
- 6:04separation. I was hoping that they would get
- 6:06past stage separation, and I was hoping they would do a soft
- 6:09landing of the booster in the Gulf of Mexico.
- 6:11But that didn't happen. Everything blew up, right?
- 6:14The liftoff is wonderful. It's a great shot from SpaceX,
- 6:18but when it came to stage separation, everything went
- 6:20kablooey. At that point.
- 6:22There was another at IFT 2, like once.
- 6:25It all went boom, another incident report was drawn up and
- 6:29from SpaceX. SpaceX does that.
- 6:32They do the incident report. They send it over to the FBA,
- 6:35basically sends a memo back saying, OK, if you do these
- 6:39things and they are acceptable and you show that you've done
- 6:42these things, we will tell you that it's OK to fly the Starship
- 6:47IFT 3 ship. But if there's any sort of
- 6:50modifications to the flight, which we'll get into as well, if
- 6:54there's any sort of modifications, SpaceX has to
- 6:56tell the FAA that these modifications are happening and
- 6:59then the FAA will approve them for those modifications as well.
- 7:03And there's one thing that's pretty interesting about the
- 7:05next, this next flight, and we can talk about that in a minute,
- 7:09but it's a really interesting part of this flight and it's
- 7:14part of NASA's Artemis program too.
- 7:17And that is the propellant transfer that may be happening
- 7:21in the Starship during this flight.
- 7:23And we've been notified a couple times from people within the
- 7:27industry and within the SpaceX that it's more than likely
- 7:30happening. Unless something drastic happens
- 7:33between the IFT 2 and IFT 3 flights that more than likely
- 7:38SpaceX will be shifting their focus towards Artemis and not
- 7:43just what they need to do, which is launch these things, get it
- 7:46to work basically. So everything they need to do
- 7:49for Artemis that they're going to start doing and the IFT 3
- 7:53mission, if it's a propellant transfer which is part of the
- 7:56Artemis program because they have to set a ship to the to
- 7:59Earth's orbit and when they send the ship to the Earth's orbit,
- 8:03it has to refuel, has to dock and refuel.
- 8:05So part of that is part of the Artemis program, right.
- 8:09So once they they dock with a booster, a tanker I should say,
- 8:14then they do a propellant transfer load and then they send
- 8:17them off to the moon. They do the propellant transfer
- 8:18load numerous times, work like in between what Elon said, which
- 8:22is four or five and then what a NASA employee said, NASA
- 8:26representative said which is like 17.
- 8:29So anywhere between 5 and 17. We're rolling right there.
- 8:34Propellant transfer. Elon knows more of the systems
- 8:37than anybody at NASA, so I'm assuming that he would know how
- 8:41many transfer the propellant transfers will happen.
- 8:44But thing is Elon isn't always the best at knowing exactly
- 8:50what's going to happen. This is in best case scenario
- 8:52four. And this could be.
- 8:55Once they master the technology I could get down to 4.
- 8:59Eventually years down the line it could get down to 4
- 9:02propellant transfers. But right now they don't know
- 9:05about boil off. How much boil off there's gonna
- 9:07that's gonna happen in space due to radiation and due to sun's
- 9:10energy and all sorts of other things because you can't
- 9:13control, you know how much propellant is going to leak
- 9:17basically. So yeah, so at this point, Elon
- 9:21says 4/4, five or whatever. And then the NASA engineers and
- 9:26representatives at NASA say it's probably more like 2017 to 20.
- 9:32So probably the first couple times, I'm assuming 17 to 20,
- 9:36maybe, maybe 10:00-ish. But they're going to do a
- 9:40propellant transfer within the Starship for IFT 3.
- 9:44So propellant transfer within tanks within Starship.
- 9:47Don't know exactly how that looks.
- 9:48We'll have to get more information from SpaceX about
- 9:50what they're actually doing and how this actually works.
- 9:53But there's a bunch of speculation out there, and I
- 9:55don't want to speculate more because nobody really knows
- 9:57what's going to happen until SpaceX basic, probably going to
- 10:00be like a few days before the launch, they're going to be
- 10:02like, hey, we're going to do this cool thing.
- 10:04And then when they do this, when they talk about it, that's when
- 10:07everybody will know about the speculation and who was right
- 10:10and who was wrong or whatever. So we don't know basically, is
- 10:13what I'm saying. It's like nobody really knows
- 10:15until SpaceX says something. We can guess, but it's fun to
- 10:19guess and it's fun to speculate. But you never know.
- 10:22You never know what they're going to do.
- 10:23Yeah. Marina.
- 10:24What's up, Roberto? What's up, too?
- 10:27There's no clearance from the FAA, Rick.
- 10:28Yep. Yeah.
- 10:30And there's no launch. Yeah, there's no FAA clearance.
- 10:32Yeah, you're right. Cool T-shirt.
- 10:34Thanks, Debs. Yeah.
- 10:35This is our starshipshirts.com 33 Raptor engine booster shirt.
- 10:41Check it out. starshipshirts.com.
- 10:42We'll go over that a little bit later as well.
- 10:44Yeah, we'll talk about that a little bit later, too.
- 10:46So it's been, as I was saying, August 28th, so about four
- 10:51months between the last static fire and of IFT 2 and the actual
- 10:57launch of IFT 2. So four months, four months.
- 11:01And of course, some of that was they had to figure out what's
- 11:05going on with the FAA and there was a environmental study and
- 11:10everything that was a long time to do to get through all that
- 11:13stuff. It could have taken maybe a
- 11:16month if all that stuff wasn't part of it.
- 11:19So there are environmental groups right now trying to
- 11:22challenge SpaceX and and the FAA about the environmental impacts
- 11:26of Starbase, which is really weird thing because you got to
- 11:29think about like where they're coming from too.
- 11:31Like the environmental groups are they're right in ways.
- 11:35And I want to be play devil's advocate for both sides because
- 11:39hey, NC Davis, thanks, man. New Year's new donkeys.
- 11:42Yeah, baby, there we go. We got our donkeys.
- 11:45What if I switched to Starbucks? Would you guys freak out because
- 11:47it's been years. It's been years of Dunkin only.
- 11:50So there is two sides of this story, right?
- 11:52And we're going to talk about this a little bit, but I don't
- 11:55want to make this all about the environmental impact because I
- 11:58want to talk about the Starship. So there are environmental
- 12:01groups right now that are suing the FDA and suing SpaceX about
- 12:06the environmental damage that is occurring at Starbase.
- 12:11And they think there's environmental damage.
- 12:12But the the FAA and the the Fish and Wildlife department said
- 12:17it's not really doing any damage.
- 12:20So the environmental groups are gonna continue to sue repeatedly
- 12:25just to stop SpaceX from doing this.
- 12:26They don't like big industry coming into this endangered
- 12:32species habitat, which I totally understand If you're if you are
- 12:37somebody that loves nature, I love nature.
- 12:39I think it's great. I take walks in nature all the
- 12:41time. And the part of it that I don't
- 12:45understand is that if there are government bodies in place to
- 12:50help us out, to show that SpaceX isn't doing anything really bad
- 12:55to the environment down there, then there's a possibility also
- 13:00that that the right, that SpaceX and the environmental agencies
- 13:07are right. So I don't think the
- 13:11environmentalists have really anything to stand on at this
- 13:15point. I think what they're going to be
- 13:16doing, it's just like fighting an endless battle trying to.
- 13:19I don't know, they're just fighting this battle with SpaceX
- 13:22that I don't know if they can do anything about it.
- 13:24I don't know if they could get the get them to stop doing what
- 13:27they're doing because they can't.
- 13:28There's no way they're going to stop them at this point.
- 13:30Yeah, it's going to be a, it's going to be a battle for them.
- 13:33But also who knows? Who knows what's going to happen
- 13:36in the future? So they might come up with a
- 13:38really sound strategy to be like, hey, by the way, this
- 13:42other thing's happening. And it's crazy like SpaceX is
- 13:45doing these wild things down there at Starbase.
- 13:48But there's also a part of it that I think SpaceX is just
- 13:54going to win. So it's cool.
- 13:56There's part of me that's just you just launch this rocket,
- 13:58just get it over with. Those people I don't know.
- 14:01And there's also, there's also there's environmentalists, but
- 14:03there's also people that are native to that land that want to
- 14:06use that land on times that SpaceX closes it down.
- 14:09And they have all the right to the beach because it's a
- 14:11protected place where their ancestors had, they had
- 14:16ceremonies there and they also have ceremonies there.
- 14:18So of course it's going to be a really important and special
- 14:21thing to them. And I understand that.
- 14:22I totally understand that. But also I want to go to Mars,
- 14:26and I know everybody else that's probably watching this wants us
- 14:28to go to Mars. So there's part of me that's
- 14:32just, man, if they could just figure out a way to when things
- 14:35happen there, could they just go, could they just tell SpaceX
- 14:39in advance, be like, hey, on Thursday this thing's going to
- 14:41happen is SpaceX could be like, yeah, we're going to wait till
- 14:44Friday to do our testing then makes sense.
- 14:46It makes sense. So they're suing the pants off
- 14:49the FAA and SpaceX for this stuff.
- 14:51But I think SpaceX is going to overall going to win out on this
- 14:55one. So back to the four months
- 14:59thing. Four months.
- 15:02It took about four months to get from IFT 2 testing to IFT 2
- 15:06flight. And I want you to take a look at
- 15:12this too. There's on the SpaceX Twitter
- 15:14feed or sorry X feed. December 20th, full duration
- 15:20static fire with all six Raptors for the ship.
- 15:24So ship 26 full duration, 6 Raptor engine and then slow
- 15:29motion view of 6 engine static fire on the 20th.
- 15:35Pretty cool. That's a couple days ago, that's
- 15:37a week ago. So if we go by everything that
- 15:41SpaceX is doing now, oh they also had a a single static fire
- 15:45a couple days ago too. So this is another drone view on
- 15:47the 20th of the static fire and then we have a couple of
- 15:51screenshots of it And then December 29th we had this super
- 15:55heavy 33 Raptor engines ahead of flight 3.
- 15:58So when they did the 33 Raptor engine test for IFT 2, they said
- 16:06that not all 33 engines fired. It was 31 engines fired during
- 16:13that test. If that's any indication, the
- 16:16SpaceX may be spending some more time testing and during IFT 2
- 16:21compared to IFT 3, and they're testing those two engines or
- 16:24doing a swap out or whatever. Then IFT 3 looks like it's like
- 16:28they're figuring everything out at breakneck speeds.
- 16:31Like ridiculous amount of speed that they do compared to any
- 16:35other Space Flight company ever. If you watch the McGregor
- 16:39streets, yeah, from like NASA Space Flight.
- 16:42It's insane how many engines they test every day.
- 16:45I think they do like 20 engine tests a day and every day
- 16:50something new happens and something like something wild is
- 16:53happening and all of those engines are going to go on to a
- 16:56Starship. So that's it's unheard of that
- 17:01they do that many Raptor engine tests.
- 17:03So if something's happened to any of these engines they're
- 17:06going to know about it in the next couple days, maybe they'll
- 17:10probably know about it by the end of today to be honest with
- 17:13you. And then all they have to do is
- 17:15ship in a new engine if they or if they don't already have one
- 17:17on in stock, I guess would be the best way to put it at the
- 17:20production facility. If they, if they get to a point
- 17:23where they can just look at all the systems, look at all the
- 17:26plumbing. And there's another cool thing
- 17:28that may happen to the ship, which we're going to talk about
- 17:30other than the liquid transfer or the propellant transfer.
- 17:33But there's another cool thing that we may see.
- 17:36But I don't think it's going to happen.
- 17:37But look it out there and it really is a thing that I don't
- 17:43know, I don't think it's going to happen.
- 17:45I really don't think it's going to happen.
- 17:46But it'd be really cool if it did.
- 17:48But if they fired all 33 Raptor engines on a booster and
- 17:52everything was fine, they just have to, like, make sure
- 17:56everything's tight, check out all the systems real quick, do a
- 17:59quick like, scrub, and then move it back to the launch site.
- 18:06Stack it up, Let's go. But the ship, on the other hand,
- 18:10this thing, this thing right here, this is a interesting
- 18:16thing. Let's see if we can find a shot
- 18:18of it. I don't know if they have a shot
- 18:19of it. Yeah.
- 18:20August 28th. No, this August 25th.
- 18:22Yeah, that's back there. I was trying to find a good shot
- 18:25of it from their X account, but there's some spot on the ship.
- 18:31But they may load Starlink satellites in there, but I don't
- 18:36think they're going to. Let me know in the comments or
- 18:39the chat if you think they're gonna do a Starlink load into
- 18:45this. And if they do a Starlink load,
- 18:48will they do a Starlink load and try to propel them out into
- 18:51space if they get up there just to kind of woo us all?
- 18:54Or will they just leave them in there as a as a test to see if
- 18:59they can actually carry Starlinks and it's not going to
- 19:02mess up the telemetry and a trajectory of the rocket?
- 19:06And if they can, because that's that's how they're gonna make
- 19:08their money, they're gonna shoot hundreds of these Starlink
- 19:10satellites off at once within the Starship.
- 19:13So with their PES dispenser program, and if they can do
- 19:17that, they can, if they can figure that out early IFT 5, if
- 19:21even if it's IFT 5, they could continue working through the
- 19:25NASA stuff alongside the Starlink stuff.
- 19:28So if everything's nominal and they're in space and they get
- 19:34past stage separation and everything's good, nothing blew
- 19:37up. And the booster's back in the
- 19:39Gulf of Mexico and they do have a Starlink or two like station
- 19:43positioned in the ship. Could they just hit the button
- 19:46and launch it out into space and just see what happens to see if
- 19:49it works we would have to. So what we would get is we would
- 19:53have some information about that probably SpaceX launching an FCC
- 19:58approved Starlink satellite from an FCC approved Starship.
- 20:04So I haven't seen any documentation.
- 20:06I've been checking the FCC, all everything.
- 20:08I haven't seen anything that. Really shows that they're
- 20:11positively going to test this out.
- 20:13So at this point, it's all speculation.
- 20:17We don't know if it's actually gonna happen.
- 20:19Could they load it in and not launch it out?
- 20:21Sure. Like a dummy?
- 20:22Yeah. Like a weight, Like a starlink
- 20:24that's that just doesn't transmit.
- 20:26Yeah, sure, they could do that. And then they could.
- 20:29If the ship actually makes it to Hawaii, then they don't have to
- 20:33recover it, It's gonna sink anyway.
- 20:34So they wouldn't really lose anything other than a test
- 20:38starlink. Like just a dummy starlink or
- 20:41few, two or three or whatever. But also why risk the NASA
- 20:45mission with a starlink mission also?
- 20:50So if they get the propellant transfer done, do one thing at a
- 20:54time, get that taken care of. NASA is paying them billions of
- 20:59dollars to build Starship. So why would they risk that with
- 21:04a Starlink launch? It doesn't make a lot of sense.
- 21:07SpaceX is risky in ways, but also they also know that they
- 21:11have a big business to run, right?
- 21:13Yeah. So it's going to be a, it's
- 21:15going to be a wild kind of ride this time because unless we know
- 21:19what's happening beforehand, if there's any FCC thing, any
- 21:22documentation dropped before the launch, we're going to know.
- 21:25But up until then, it's just people hoping and wishing for
- 21:29this to happen because there's no, there's no documentation as
- 21:32far as I know. Sentinel says, yeah, or just
- 21:34simulate the deploy sequence without satellites, just to get
- 21:36some data on their mechanism. Yeah, that would be great.
- 21:39So simulate that. So the other thing about that, I
- 21:42thought about that a little bit. The simulation would be, could
- 21:44they go through the software without hardware attached, make
- 21:47sure that the software works, which would be a huge step
- 21:50forward. Also, could they do a fake
- 21:54ejection? Could they open up the door just
- 21:57to see if the door works in space?
- 21:59Yeah, that would be perfect. But and then have the mechanism
- 22:03move as well to kind of shoot them out into space, that would
- 22:06be great too. But would they risk that much of
- 22:10the mission in case it doesn't go right, if it gets stuck, if
- 22:15it gets stuck out, like the mechanism gets stuck and then
- 22:18they can't do the transfer, the propellant transfer, maybe it'll
- 22:21be a two-part mission. Maybe the propellant transfer
- 22:23will happen 1st. And they're like, oh, we
- 22:25finished this mission. So our secondary mission, we're
- 22:29gonna have whatever the booster landing is part of the mission.
- 22:32That's part one, I guess stage separation, hot firing and then
- 22:37we could have, then we could have booster landing, ship gets
- 22:40the space, starts its orbital orbital fuel transfer, gets that
- 22:45done and then maybe they can do the star like thing.
- 22:49That might be a option. I don't know.
- 22:51I think it, I think having extra things in the ship while it's
- 22:55flying in space might be a little bit too much.
- 22:58So I'm just like playing devil's advocate here.
- 23:01I don't know. So these are just things that I
- 23:05I can't sleep because I think of them.
- 23:07I'll go to, I'll go to, I'll lay down to bed.
- 23:09I'm like, Starlink's flying out of a Starship and I'm like, when
- 23:14is that going to happen? I think it's too early, though.
- 23:15I think it's too early. I think they're going to wait a
- 23:17couple more flights for this because they do have to get
- 23:20everything right within his next like six flights.
- 23:26But if they can start making money with Starship, that's what
- 23:29really matters, right? If they can start making way
- 23:32more money with way more Starlinks almost immediately,
- 23:36that would be fantastic. If even if they do 10 Starlink
- 23:39transfer, that would be wild. Let's see, I can easily see them
- 23:42loading dummy satellites and then test the PES mechanism
- 23:45indoor system, why not? Yeah, that's true.
- 23:47Yeah, Average Joe, I agree with you.
- 23:48Like I see that like such a value that could bring to this
- 23:53flight and a value that it can bring to the next flight.
- 23:56Because if they can do that like a dummy set up this flight with
- 24:00no FCC or anything involved and just let them burn up on their
- 24:03way back in, that would be wonderful.
- 24:06And then the next flight they can actually get real Starlinks,
- 24:09they can talk to the FCC, they can get clearance and then they
- 24:12can get these things out there. They can start launching
- 24:14hundreds of satellites while they're doing all the other
- 24:18testing or what, as long as they do it, as long as they do it
- 24:22safely. And SpaceX is, of course, very
- 24:27dramatic with their testing. They're like, not to be
- 24:31dramatic, but like SpaceX is like totally dramatic with their
- 24:35testing. They're just, they're way ahead
- 24:38of the curve for everybody else. So of course, they're probably
- 24:42going to try something a little bit this time and maybe they
- 24:46might not tell anybody beforehand.
- 24:47Maybe they'll be like, hey, we had some Starlinks in there, we
- 24:50were just testing them. But more than likely the
- 24:53communications team over at SpaceX are going to be like,
- 24:55hey, we're doing these cool things, be part of it, which is
- 24:59really great. So I think that's one of the
- 25:02things that that SpaceX does really great is they involve us
- 25:04all, which is really cool. So this December 29th, static
- 25:09fire right here, this one, oh, that's really loud.
- 25:12If this went off without a hitch, if that was perfect, then
- 25:17it seems, and I'm speculating here, that they would have to do
- 25:22some very minimal refurbishment if they need to and they would
- 25:26have to basically check all the systems and then move the ship,
- 25:29move the booster back to the launchpad and we have a whole
- 25:33thing here. So that being said, the Highway
- 25:384 Rd. closures for January 3rd and January 4th, this is
- 25:42probably going, these ones are probably going to be.
- 25:46I got to Scroll down here a little bit so you can see it,
- 25:49but these are probably going to be canceled.
- 25:51So the 3rd and the 4th are probably not going to move
- 25:53anything because they're alternate dates in the temporary
- 25:57Rd. closure for Hwy. for January 2nd.
- 26:01That's what happened today. Yeah.
- 26:03So I don't think these next Rd. closures are going to actually
- 26:05be anything. It might move the ship.
- 26:07I'm not 100% sure. The ship might just sit there
- 26:08too. Yeah.
- 26:09So we're going to, we're going to see if that's a thing.
- 26:14So we're going to check that out and if they start moving the
- 26:17ship around a little bit, Michael Maxey, thank you so much
- 26:20for letting me know about that because sometimes my audio
- 26:22sounds good on my end and then YouTube picks it up and it's,
- 26:25hey, what's going on. So we have a few things.
- 26:30I have a checklist. I made this checklist and I
- 26:32built it in code. So I have T3 flight.
- 26:35They're going to be doing a ground systems and launchpad
- 26:38inspection. So everything that like leads
- 26:41into the like, pushes fuel into and cools down the ship and the
- 26:47booster, they're going to have to do that for the next flight.
- 26:49They're going to inspect the booster like we talked about,
- 26:51inspect the ship, like we talked about ship 28, Starlink load,
- 26:55maybe transport the ship back, yes, stack for fit, check
- 27:00possible removal. If it doesn't fit right.
- 27:02And some of the systems don't work, we've seen it happen
- 27:04before and they are getting better at what they do.
- 27:07So stack for the fit, check, and if it works, cool, Put it back
- 27:11together. Then they're going to do a wet
- 27:13dress rehearsal. After that, they'll load it all
- 27:15up with all the propellant, all the cryogenics, get it ready for
- 27:19flight, everything right until right before the 2nd that it
- 27:23launches, and then don't hit the launch button and then they're
- 27:27ready to go. Almost.
- 27:29If they armed the flight termination system, they have to
- 27:32do a launch ready review. I have T2 investigation approval
- 27:36of course, because that has to be that has to happen due to the
- 27:40FAA and then they have to have the final FAA flight approval
- 27:44and then they have to go for launch at that point.
- 27:47And that's when we all go crazy, that's when we all, that's when
- 27:50we all get super pumped whether you go for launch, that's when I
- 27:53get pumped up, I start doing laps, I start going crazy and
- 27:57yeah that. So once they go for launch, it's
- 27:59going to be, it's going to be a fever pitch again.
- 28:02So it's going to start ramping up really fast at Starbase in
- 28:07the next week or two. Things are going to go from zero
- 28:11to 1,000,000 miles an hour as fast as humanly possible and
- 28:15have everybody down there that needs to work on this thing.
- 28:18And they're going to get it ready as soon as they can.
- 28:21Because as far as I know, I don't know if they've rehashed
- 28:25this with Texas or the FAA, but they only have five flights from
- 28:31Starbase every year. And of course they can work with
- 28:34the FAA to get them to get that fixed, to get it to bump it up.
- 28:38But right now they only have 5. So if they can, they also have
- 28:42to make sure that the FAA is like cool with these flights
- 28:46too. Because if there's anything that
- 28:48happens during these investigations that the FAA
- 28:51would deem like extremely irresponsible, they would keep
- 28:55it down at five flights per year and maybe lower it.
- 29:00But if everything goes well, that's why these initial flights
- 29:03are so important, because if they get these, right, that's
- 29:08why I was talking about earlier. Don't risk it, man.
- 29:10Don't risk it. These initial like five or six
- 29:12flights of Starship are so important that they can go back
- 29:17to the FAA and say, hey, I've been good, can I get some more
- 29:20flights, please? Can we just get some more
- 29:22flights and the FA will be like, yeah, you did really great these
- 29:24first six flights. Yeah, OK, that's cool.
- 29:27Let's give you 20 or let's give you 10 or whatever.
- 29:30And of course, SpaceX needs 100 flights before they put people
- 29:34in this thing. Artemis is coming up.
- 29:37NASA is not very happy with the progress that SpaceX is making.
- 29:41Like they're happy with it, but they're not 100% happy with it.
- 29:44There's they're I forgot who was their director of human Space
- 29:48Flight. Maybe that's it's NASA or I
- 29:52can't remember who it was, but they went on the record and
- 29:55said, hey, yeah, we, we're pulling for them, but they're
- 29:58pretty. We thought it was going to be
- 29:59further along because Elon said that too in his early talks.
- 30:02He was like, we'll be on Mars by 2024, easy, easy, and we're
- 30:07going to have people flying around the Earth like by 2020 or
- 30:10what? Elon, of course it's Elon and he
- 30:12talks about, he talks a big game sometimes, and I love the guy
- 30:15for what he's done. But he does have a very
- 30:18optimistic I'm going to be very nice to him, but he has a very
- 30:21optimistic outlook on the future and his outlook is always before
- 30:26the things actually happen. I would love to have had a ride
- 30:30in the Starship by now when they announced it back in the day,
- 30:33the BFG or whatever it was, what was it called?
- 30:35The BFR? The BFR?
- 30:37Well, it just looked like this massive weird rocket that looked
- 30:40like like a like a colony ship almost from Battlestar
- 30:44Galactica. So the yeah, the Starship is
- 30:48it's coming along but 20252026 maybe Artemis, probably 2027
- 30:56according to NASA. The Axiom space suits need to be
- 30:58built still. Yeah, there's just, it's just a
- 31:00lot like whenever a company says we can do something by X amount
- 31:05of time, they're never right. I don't think anyone's ever
- 31:08delivered on time in the Space Flight industry to be honest
- 31:11with. They're always like, hey, yeah,
- 31:12we can fly by 2010 and then by 2020 they're like, yeah, we need
- 31:17another five years. SpaceX, of course, is not old
- 31:20space. We know this.
- 31:21So you give them a little bit of give them a little bit of
- 31:23something because they working hard and they work fast.
- 31:26They work really fast. Iterative design, like I did it
- 31:29my whole life. I'm a web developer.
- 31:31I know this stuff, front end developer, you work really fast,
- 31:35things don't go well and then you fix them.
- 31:38That's how it works. And that's what SpaceX does
- 31:40compared to old space, which is somebody like Blue Origin who
- 31:42builds the whole rocket and then they're like, we're done and
- 31:48then we're just going to fly all these rockets all the time.
- 31:50SpaceX is like, hey, we're done with our first one, it's going
- 31:53to blow up. The second one's going to blow
- 31:55up, third one probably going to blow up.
- 31:58Fourth one, maybe he's going to blow up, I don't know.
- 32:00But whenever it blows up, we're going to fix it for the next
- 32:03one. So it's a really, it's a really
- 32:07public way to launch a rocket like somebody like Blue Origin
- 32:13shrouded in mystery. And they they don't mean to be.
- 32:16It's just that they're working like they're in a giant
- 32:18warehouse working on this rocket.
- 32:20They don't have time to do tours.
- 32:23They don't have a media team, Like why would they have a big
- 32:25media team doing like watching somebody like crank a wrench,
- 32:30even though that's cool. I totally get it.
- 32:33I know why SpaceX does it, but SpaceX does do the media stuff
- 32:37really well. But also there's YouTube
- 32:40channels out there that are very interested in SpaceX because
- 32:43it's really accessible. They didn't build Starship in a
- 32:46factory, mainly because they didn't have a factory to build a
- 32:50Starship in. They're just like, we're just
- 32:52going to build this giant stainless steel thing and see
- 32:53what, see what happens. And it worked out pretty well.
- 32:56Like their engineers are amazing because it worked out well.
- 33:00So, yeah, I think there's two different ways to do it.
- 33:03And I think that the way the SpaceX is doing it, of course,
- 33:05is my favorite way because I get to watch it and it's really
- 33:08crazy. But there's other companies out
- 33:10there that are doing it differently.
- 33:12So I don't know, average Joe, thank you so much for the Super.
- 33:15I really appreciate that. Man, ship needs some tile repair
- 33:18and lifting point removal. Wonder if they will do that on
- 33:20pad or reproduction site. No, I yeah, I think that's true.
- 33:24Yeah. I think that the tile repair, of
- 33:25course, is going to happen. I don't know exactly where
- 33:28they're going to do it, but it doesn't seem like they're going
- 33:30to move it, 'cause I don't know if they need to move it for that
- 33:34'cause they have cranes and they have people, lifters.
- 33:37I don't think they need to move it all the way back to the
- 33:39production site. And if they do, it'll be
- 33:40probably next week once they get the booster done with the
- 33:43refurbishments and stuff. Yeah, great podcast.
- 33:45Thanks, Edward Show, I appreciate that.
- 33:47At the same time, though, the problem is that they only
- 33:49granted the contract in 2021. It was way too late for 2024 or
- 33:532025 launch on a three. Yeah, I agree.
- 33:55I doubt anyone else would be further like, yeah, I totally
- 33:58agree with you on that one. Totally.
- 33:59You got to wonder, will Starship Flight 3 be before Valentine's
- 34:03Day? Andrew, Funny thing this
- 34:06channel's anniversary is on Valentine's Day.
- 34:09It was a podcast. So this.
- 34:12There's a whole history behind this, and I've talked about it
- 34:15before. This channel's four years old or
- 34:17something like that. The show's four years old, so I
- 34:20started a podcast with just a phone and some headphones in.
- 34:24Four years ago, in 2019, February 14th, 2019, I went to
- 34:30an observatory in the mountains of Pennsylvania and got
- 34:34inspired. I was a I'm an amateur
- 34:37astronomer. I've been doing this for a
- 34:38really long time. I had this giant telescope that
- 34:41I had trucked down to this observatory, and I spent the
- 34:44night there. And when I was there, I was
- 34:46like, the waters of the universe need to be shared.
- 34:50So I started a podcast. I had no idea what I was doing,
- 34:52and so I started it like an audio podcast.
- 34:54I started talking about it and this it's the anniversary of
- 34:57Valentine's Day is the anniversary of February 14th
- 34:59every year. So hopefully everyone's here for
- 35:02that. And if you're not here for that,
- 35:05if you're not subscribed, please hit the sub button.
- 35:07And also the like button really helps too, because that gets the
- 35:11signal out to everybody else. But if you want to come back for
- 35:13Valentine's Day, hit that subscribe button so we can hang
- 35:16out together again. We can have these sort of
- 35:18discussions. Every show says, I remember the
- 35:20first iterations looked like dented cans of baked beans.
- 35:24It was bad. Yeah, it was bad.
- 35:27It was real bad. Hoppy was really cool.
- 35:29Hoppy was the When I saw Hoppy fly for the first time, I was
- 35:36stunned. Like I didn't know what to
- 35:39think. I think I have a live stream of
- 35:41it somewhere. I think I do like way back in
- 35:43the archives. So yeah, check that out too.
- 35:47I have an audio podcast with us too, so check out SpaceX News
- 35:50Pod for the audio podcast. This'll go up on there too if
- 35:54you want to listen to it later. So now Starbase is called
- 35:56Gateway to Mars. I think it's going to still be
- 36:00Starbase. It'll it's like the name of it
- 36:03will be Starbase, the Gateway to Mars.
- 36:06I think something like that. I think that would be cool.
- 36:09But I think it'll always be Starbase though.
- 36:13But I do. The new Gateway is the Mars sign
- 36:16at Starbase. That's pretty sick.
- 36:18Valentine's Day will be the IFT 3 post launch review.
- 36:21Oh, that'll be cool. When you saw Hoppy, you cried.
- 36:25I did Devs. I'm like all up in my feelings
- 36:27with these things all the time. It's a thing that, like this has
- 36:31always been a passionate endeavour for me.
- 36:34And not just the channel, but Space Flight in general and
- 36:37human exploration. It's just the wonder of like how
- 36:41we do things that we do, like how people do the things that we
- 36:44do. So I'm just blown away by so
- 36:48much stuff. I don't even know what this tab
- 36:50is. Oh, that's our shirts.
- 36:52I was like, what is this? What is this?
- 36:54Oh yeah, that's my shirt. Somebody you mentioned NC Davis,
- 36:56I think you mentioned it earlier that you had it on.
- 36:58Somebody had the shirt on. So I was like, if you want to go
- 37:00check it out, starshipshirts.com, you can get
- 37:03the same Raptor shirt 20% off right now.
- 37:06We're doing like a end of the year, early 2024, blow out 20%
- 37:11off sale, so many colors. Black we got Kelly, green we
- 37:15got, red whatever you want. Pink we got if you want a pink.
- 37:19And we ship everywhere, any color you want, any size you
- 37:24want, up to four XI. Don't think we do 5X anymore.
- 37:26Yeah, not available. So you do any color up to five
- 37:29up to 4X and they get a little bit more expensive the bigger
- 37:32you make the shirt. But that's just a thing that we
- 37:34do. Then we have a Mars demos and
- 37:37Phobos men's space T-shirt and that's really cool one too.
- 37:41I got to get myself one of these because those that's just a cool
- 37:44shirt too. Just looks neat.
- 37:46So yeah, check it out, check it out.
- 37:49We have a bunch of stuff. So yeah just check it out if you
- 37:52can. If you have, if you want buy
- 37:54something for a loved one or like for yourself if you want to
- 37:56show support for the show too. It's just it helps us out
- 37:59tremendously. Like all the Super chance, all
- 38:02the Super stickers and like memberships to the channel.
- 38:05Dude I don't even know how much how much that helps but it helps
- 38:11so much. Like I I should say I can't even
- 38:13express how much it helps for your with your support like that
- 38:18we can do this because of you and our hottest selling shirt is
- 38:22the shirt that I'm wearing actually which is this is a
- 38:24women's shirt too. We have women's gear so we have
- 38:27the women's version. We have the men's version.
- 38:29We have hats the stage zero hat which is all black black out
- 38:32black which is pretty sweet. And then we're also live on
- 38:35Twitch. So if you want to watch on
- 38:36Twitch go over to twitch.com/space news.
- 38:39Bob, we don't have any like this is my first real stream on
- 38:41Twitch. Just chilling over there we have
- 38:43a lot of stuff yeah this is the this is another cool that Neil
- 38:47Neil made these designs. Raptor.
- 38:50Clever girl. You get it.
- 38:52Jurassic Park and also Raptor Engines.
- 38:55Pretty freaking sweet, dude. That's a great shirt.
- 38:58What a smart dude. Neil is an awesome guy.
- 39:02I love Neil to death and he'd make some really crazy design
- 39:05like cool designs. So this is also a really fun
- 39:09one, which I might grab one of those two.
- 39:11So anyway, I don't want to make this all about like, selling
- 39:14T-shirts because that's weird. You guys are right here to talk
- 39:17about Starships. We're here to talk about
- 39:19Starships. But El Hungaro, thank you so
- 39:21much for the Super chat. So also every Tuesday and
- 39:24Thursday, I'm gonna start doing these streams again because I
- 39:27just love to do them. And I think it's fun to be with
- 39:29you guys. I just think it's cool, man.
- 39:31We can have a good conversation about this stuff and we can talk
- 39:34about things. And we also have a poll in our
- 39:36chat right now. When will Starship IFT 3 launch?
- 39:3949% safe January. And then 41, say February.
- 39:44Then there's some from March, 7 for March and 3% for April.
- 39:47So I don't think it's going to launch in January.
- 39:52I think they're going to think they have too much work to do
- 39:55and they're they are getting faster, you know, like they're
- 39:59getting faster what they do. So I think this will be the
- 40:01first time that they get everything done in about a month
- 40:06before a relaunch. But I think after this, like
- 40:10they're not going to do any work on the plumbing or any sort of
- 40:13ground systems other than things that absolutely need to be
- 40:15fixed. But I don't think they're going
- 40:18to upgrade anything or go tear down the old, the old tankers or
- 40:22anything like that. Not yet.
- 40:24They're going to continue to work on that stuff as they do
- 40:27everything in concert. So while they're fixing the
- 40:30booster, they could be fixing the ship, and while they're
- 40:34fixing the ship, they could also be they're working with the FAA.
- 40:38So all these things are working at the same time.
- 40:41So if they do get a launch by the middle of January, like I
- 40:45put a placeholder live stream for the middle of January
- 40:48because there's a there is a possibility that they get done
- 40:52in a few weeks. Of course that's like subject to
- 40:56change as they say. So the any flight time it's like
- 41:01anything can happen. I was talking to one of my
- 41:03friends and if you're going to go to the Starship launch, when
- 41:07they do announce it, just please take a second because it's going
- 41:11to be, it's going to be possible delays might delay at a day or
- 41:16two, so book your hotel and flights accordingly.
- 41:19Because if they announce it for, if they announce it for January
- 41:2315th, just in particular, they say, OK, 15th, we're going to
- 41:26fly this thing, get down there on the 14th, get set up, get
- 41:30ready for the flight, but also book your room for more days,
- 41:34make a vacation out of it. If they say they're going to fly
- 41:36on the 15th, expect them to possibly fly on the 17th or
- 41:4018th. If you're going to fly down or
- 41:43go down to Boca Chica and watch this, it's going to be, there's
- 41:48a possibility it might take a couple extra days.
- 41:50So just save up a little bit extra money and get the room for
- 41:52a couple extra days. I don't know.
- 41:54January seems it's optimistic and I'd like to be optimistic
- 41:59about these things because I want it to launch so bad and I
- 42:05wanted to just go, man, it's so fun.
- 42:07Yeah, it's so fun when these things launch.
- 42:10So I'm just, I'm ready for it to launch.
- 42:14So I'm going to wind down the stream here for in a minute.
- 42:17But I want to say I want to see if you guys have any ideas, like
- 42:19when do you think it's going to launch for real?
- 42:21Do you think it's going to launch like middle of January?
- 42:22I think it's going to launch in February, because our poll says
- 42:25most people say like half say January, 41% say February, 7%
- 42:31say March, 4% say April. Do you think the FAA is just
- 42:35gonna hold them up again 'cause that's a real possibility if
- 42:40SpaceX sent them some information, which nobody knows
- 42:43what happened. All the data that happened that
- 42:46SpaceX sent the FAA, nobody knows what that is.
- 42:49And SpaceX may be like, we did something pretty bad, but we can
- 42:54fix it. So the FAA might be the choke
- 42:57point here. Middle of February and start
- 43:00travel the 29th says end of January.
- 43:01New bro says that Phil says yes. Average show early to mid
- 43:05February. Of course I'm guessing.
- 43:06Yeah, we're all guessing at this point.
- 43:09We're all guessing. But according to the data that
- 43:13we had from from this static fire August 29th going all the
- 43:19way up to the full flight in November so Starship stacked
- 43:25September 30th team continues to work with the FAA on a launch
- 43:28license September 30th. Yeah, it's gonna, it's gonna be
- 43:31a wild like next couple weeks but I think it's gonna go so
- 43:36fast. I think it's gonna go so fast.
- 43:39People are gonna go into hyper mode at Starbase in the next
- 43:45three to four days. I think this next week is gonna
- 43:48show how fast if the booster moves back, there's no Rd.
- 43:52closures. So there's no Rd. closures that
- 43:54we know of because SpaceX doesn't really have.
- 43:57They didn't really do all the physical checks for the booster
- 44:00yet. They have to get it in the Bay,
- 44:01which they've done today. But we don't have any more Rd.
- 44:05closures until that. Was it like the January 2nd one
- 44:10was the last Rd. closure. They have the January 3rd and
- 44:124th of course for the maybe temporary Rd. closure, but right
- 44:17now it doesn't seem like they have an idea when they'll either
- 44:20move the ship back or move the booster back to the thing or to
- 44:24the pad. Yeah, I think.
- 44:25I just think the next week is gonna be super crucial for
- 44:27timelines and then we're gonna get to the first week by the
- 44:319th. So next Tuesday if they move the
- 44:36booster back to the launchpad by next Tuesday.
- 44:41Or we might be able to get a launch by like the 15th or 16th.
- 44:46Because if the booster goes back and they did the Starship the
- 44:49ship in concert with the booster being fixed or refurbished or
- 44:54checked out or whatever, then they could stack it and get
- 44:58ready, do a propellant test, do a full stack test, and then our
- 45:03wet dress rehearsal. And then within a few days
- 45:05flight termination system FAA comes through.
- 45:08It's ramping up really fast. So if the booster goes back, we
- 45:14know it's going to be real soon. So that being said, I don't
- 45:22know, man, we have some, we have some time to think about this.
- 45:26But Thursday, if there's any more information, stay tuned,
- 45:29make sure to subscribe to the channel.
- 45:31Of course, we have a couple new Subs today, so thank you for
- 45:33that everybody. And also we have a
- 45:35patreonpatreon.com/space News Pod you can join for as little
- 45:38as a dollar per month, and you can join the Space Cadets, Cosmo
- 45:42Crew, Galaxy Gang, or become a member on YouTube with this very
- 45:47cool old video from my old studio where I used to get
- 45:51attacked by Hornets and bats. Debs knows what's up for 2 bucks
- 45:55a month to join the flight crew and then you can if you want to
- 45:58help out more, 499 for the Cosmos crew and Galaxy gang for
- 46:0210 bucks a month. But you get cool little badges
- 46:04and some custom emojis and stuff, and I'm doing some more
- 46:07emojis in the next few days so I can upgrade that stuff for you
- 46:10too. We also have Space News Pod,
- 46:12which is Space News pod.com which is our website.
- 46:15You can get all the updated information about basically
- 46:19stuff on this channel, but we'll SpaceX go public in 2024.
- 46:23If you don't want to read that, the answer is probably not.
- 46:26So there you go. I did a little spoiler, but you
- 46:29can go hang out there and check that out.
- 46:30We don't have any ads on the site yet.
- 46:31So I'm just doing that as a free fun thing for people to check
- 46:35out with For more information as a liner notes for everybody out
- 46:39there. I'm not showing them on the
- 46:41screen though. So there you go, space news pod
- 46:43and there's we go, we got the members for YouTube and which is
- 46:47look at that. Look at that hair, man.
- 46:49Look at that hair. That's I'm like, what's going on
- 46:54with that? Sick.
- 46:57Yeah. A couple years ago, man, I was
- 46:58being attacked by Hornets in that room.
- 47:00It was insane. It was insane for this is like a
- 47:04four year old video or something.
- 47:05I got monetized like right away. And then they were like, hey,
- 47:09make a membership video. And I was like, I don't know how
- 47:11to do that. Then of course, our Patreon.
- 47:14Yeah, Cosmos crew, Galaxy Gang and Space.
- 47:16It just helps us continue, Helps me continue doing this to
- 47:19continue to do this. And the merch, of course.
- 47:22So yeah, thanks. I really do appreciate everybody
- 47:24out there and all the Super chats and super stickers too.
- 47:27We have a bunch of members. So all the members, thank you.
- 47:30And everybody else who's just here chatting today and Seven
- 47:32hanging out. Yeah, that's cool.
- 47:34Thank you. Really.
- 47:35I really do appreciate it. Phil says they hope they're
- 47:38gonna look at everything because if this launch is not gonna be
- 47:41successful, the 4th launch is going to be further when they
- 47:43wanted or further away than wanted.
- 47:46Yeah, I think so. I think I have T3.
- 47:49If it goes real bad, really bad, then yeah, it could be another
- 47:57four months. So who knows?
- 47:59It could be a bad situation at some point where SpaceX and NASA
- 48:05or SpaceX and the FAA are butting heads and figuring all
- 48:11this stuff out because it's going to take a little while for
- 48:13them to figure out all this stuff.
- 48:15So that's another one of my favorite shirts.
- 48:18I got to buy one of these. Enjoy space.
- 48:20It's like a almost like almost Coca-Cola.
- 48:26Yeah. If it goes really bad, it
- 48:27doesn't make it off the pad ever.
- 48:28Joe says What? Constantly.
- 48:29It's really bad. Yeah.
- 48:30If it doesn't make it off the pad, that's really bad.
- 48:33So if something like that happens, yeah, Deb says too hot
- 48:39in the apartment and blinded by the sun.
- 48:41Yeah, the So there there is a stream of this somewhere like
- 48:49way back in the day when I started the channel.
- 48:51And this is just like a little side note from SpaceX.
- 48:53But it is funny. I was live streaming to I think
- 48:57it was one of my biggest audiences ever.
- 48:58I think it was when a Russian booster was crashing back to
- 49:04Earth and I had this window over here in my old place and there
- 49:11was a hornet's nest in the window.
- 49:13But they kept to themselves most the time.
- 49:14And I didn't want to kill him or anything.
- 49:16So like, they just hung out in the window and I was all sealed
- 49:21off and stuff. And like, for some, it's like
- 49:23somehow, like Hornets are scary to begin with because those
- 49:25gonna sting you and it's gonna hurt.
- 49:28But somehow one of them snuck into my room.
- 49:33I started crawling on my window and like, you can see me in the
- 49:35stream. Go what?
- 49:36What's that? OK, And there's a Hornet over
- 49:39there. I saw it and then it started
- 49:41flying towards me and it started.
- 49:42You'd see me ducking like during the show.
- 49:45And I'm like just trying to keep my cool so I don't like.
- 49:48And I didn't want to get stung because if he gets stung, like
- 49:50in the neck, it's the worst. So I'm like, my neck's exposed
- 49:54and my arms are exposed. I'm like so like the old studio
- 49:57where I was at with when I was doing this thing, that's when I
- 50:00got. I didn't get attacked by Wasps
- 50:02or whatever or Hornets or whatever.
- 50:04I but I was being like I was being checked out by them.
- 50:09They're flying over my head and stuff all the time.
- 50:10So I was like ducking and stuff. And I have ton of people
- 50:13watching at that point, like hundreds of people, like
- 50:16probably 1000 people at one point concurrent viewers.
- 50:19And I'm like trying to keep my cool and talk to people about
- 50:21it. The stream went on for hours and
- 50:23hours because that was like a wild, wild time.
- 50:26At one point you can see during the live stream that the Hornet
- 50:31landed on my microphone and I'm like talking like mouth open
- 50:35like this. And if the thing flies into my
- 50:37mouth, I'm just, I'm done. Like what if a Hornet bites you
- 50:41inside the mouth would be the worst or stings you inside the
- 50:44mouth. That would be the worst thing
- 50:45ever. How do you even like, how do you
- 50:48go to the doctor and be like, yeah, I got stung in the mouth
- 50:51by a Hornet. Yeah, so I figured that part
- 50:53out, which is cool, but oh, there's a there's another thing
- 50:56that I want to tell you guys. Yeah, so this is a big deal, but
- 51:00I don't want to give away too much.
- 51:01I don't want to divulge too much because it's not 100% done yet.
- 51:05But there is a big change happening for way better,
- 51:12possibly in the next month. So that's all I can say for the
- 51:17much better, much, much better than what it is right now for
- 51:21the channel and for me personally too, but for the
- 51:23channel. So stay tuned for that.
- 51:25I'll have more information about that in the members section of
- 51:29the channel. So members only for a little bit
- 51:31and then it'll be released to the public.
- 51:33But there's a few things they have to finish up today to get
- 51:36that all situated. And then I can divulge some more
- 51:39information. Teaser.
- 51:41Yeah, so some people know some people that are like OG
- 51:45diehards. No, but I have to get it out
- 51:47there in the public because it's going to be, it's got to be
- 51:50cool. I think you'll be pretty stoked
- 51:52because there will be more coverage from better places.
- 51:57Not Starbase, just so you know, maybe Starbase at some point,
- 51:59but other places that are near Florida.
- 52:05That's all I could say. Will's moving back to Starbase
- 52:09to squat in Hobby. Yeah, I'm going to live in
- 52:11Hobby. Don't be hot.
- 52:13The place is Hoppy's metal. I know what that is.
- 52:15You'll become a Dallas Cowboys fan Will.
- 52:18Oh, no, it's not Texas. No, it's not Texas, but it is
- 52:21near other launches. That's all I can say.
- 52:25So there's a possibility that might happen at just soon as
- 52:29today, like just be finalized by as soon as the end of today.
- 52:33So yeah, not Texas, but closer to the Gulf of Mexico and closer
- 52:42to another place that we all love.
- 52:45Launches coming from. That's all I can say.
- 52:47That's it for now. OK.
- 52:48Thanks, everybody. I'm out.
- 52:50Greetings from Florida Will come on down, bro.
- 52:52Yeah, I'm. I plan on going to Artemis 2.
- 52:56I want to go to an Axiom mission.
- 52:58I would love to go to a crew. Mission crew.
- 53:01I don't even know what they're at now.
- 53:02Cruise 8910, whatever they're at, but any sort of SpaceX
- 53:06Falcon crew launch would be really cool.
- 53:08Starlinks are cool too, but there's so many of them.
- 53:10I guess you could just go to Vandenberg at some point and
- 53:12just be like, I'm just going to hang out for a day and then
- 53:14another Starlink launch is going to happen as well.
- 53:17You could go to any place, pad 39, and be like, oh, SpaceX
- 53:21probably get a launch today, see a cool rocket launch so you
- 53:24could just show up. Yeah, that'd be cool.
- 53:27Man, I would be pretty, pretty pumped to go back to Florida on
- 53:31El Haguero. Was going to live on the ISS.
- 53:34Closer to launches. Watches do go there, but
- 53:39Florida's decent if you can handle the Crocs and tropical
- 53:41environment. I don't mind the tropical
- 53:43environment when I was in when I was at Starbase.
- 53:46It's pretty tropical, like subtropical, very similar to
- 53:50when I lived in Orlando, like I lived.
- 53:53I used to live outside of Orlando when I was younger and I
- 53:57loved it because it was really, it was nice and like warm and
- 53:59stuff and I like that. I'm not like the best with heat,
- 54:03but I can work on it. I can work well with it because
- 54:05air conditioning, whatever. I'm from the Northeast, like
- 54:08today, it's what, 28° or something here.
- 54:11So it's going to be better than any sort of heat is better than
- 54:14like 28°. Let me get that off there.
- 54:17Let me get this off there. I guess it looks weird.
- 54:20So yeah, some little bit more tropical would be cool.
- 54:24So that's all I can say though. That's all I can say for now,
- 54:27but I'll let the members know first and then Patreon members
- 54:30and stuff too. So if you want to help out,
- 54:33become a member, become Patreon member.
- 54:34You get a little bit easy access to it, Early access.
- 54:37And then, yeah, I'll let you guys know what's up because it
- 54:39will happen soon. Just saying.
- 54:42So also, thanks, like legit Thank you for your continued
- 54:48support. Means the world to me.
- 54:51Hey, thank you so much for listening today.
