- 0:03Speaker 1: Everybody walking into the Irish Singers Podcast presented by Erlink
- 0:06Speaker 1: to say a short week. This week we're going to
- 0:08Speaker 1: look back on the win in week six and look
- 0:11Speaker 1: ahead obviously to week seven. Fursty football coming up. Michael
- 0:14Speaker 1: mcqwid this week, delighted to welcome back in not too
- 0:18Speaker 1: far from me, Welcome back in Davog Dave. Okay, good
- 0:22Speaker 1: to see you sir on this Monday. How are you doing?
- 0:26Speaker 1: Victory Monday? We should say, what's the crack?
- 0:28Speaker 2: It's the best Monday of the year. Mac's Factory Monday.
- 0:31Speaker 2: All though with Steelers songs we get a lot of them.
- 0:33Speaker 2: So very happy with yesterday and looking forward to breaking
- 0:37Speaker 2: it down. It has been a while a lot of
- 0:39Speaker 2: stuff has been happened since we've last been on the
- 0:40Speaker 2: Dublin game, which I would probably run out of superlatives
- 0:45Speaker 2: to describe. Best weekend of my life probably would be
- 0:48Speaker 2: the best one to use.
- 0:50Speaker 1: But what did it mean to you? Like? What did
- 0:52Speaker 1: it mean to you? Because whenever I and I know
- 0:54Speaker 1: for some people listening, yes it was, but it's your
- 0:57Speaker 1: first time on it. So when I walked out and
- 0:59Speaker 1: seen it, I couldn't belave the stadium. But when when
- 1:01Speaker 1: the team round that, et cetera. It was is incredible
- 1:03Speaker 1: and what did the media on a personal level to
- 1:05Speaker 1: say it because you've obviously been over to Pittsburgh as well,
- 1:07Speaker 1: but to see it in Dublin.
- 1:09Speaker 2: It meant absolutely everything. I can I even said it
- 1:13Speaker 2: to the ones that was with the Poles that was
- 1:14Speaker 2: with it was felt like it was a Steelers game
- 1:16Speaker 2: at home, but only in crow Park and Dublin. I mean,
- 1:19Speaker 2: it reminded me so much of the game that we
- 1:21Speaker 2: got to go to last year against the Jets, in
- 1:24Speaker 2: which we want again. So I'm also to to know
- 1:27Speaker 2: in Steelers games as well that have been attending, So
- 1:30Speaker 2: in terms of the whole spectacle it was it was
- 1:33Speaker 2: absolutely amazing. The national anthem and getting to speak to
- 1:37Speaker 2: a few American folks that were over for the game,
- 1:39Speaker 2: which were a lot of them, but even you know,
- 1:41Speaker 2: as Steelers fans. The Vakans fans showed up as well before,
- 1:46Speaker 2: but it's fair to say that Steelers fan Juliet and
- 1:48Speaker 2: Umber them. So getting to see that getting a witness
- 1:50Speaker 2: at as first hand was was amazing and in terms
- 1:54Speaker 2: of what it meant, it met absolutely everything, and I
- 1:56Speaker 2: can't wait to do the game, whatever that may be.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I know we've only you know, we're we're only sort
- 2:00Speaker 2: of coming off the coat tails over at the moment.
- 2:02Speaker 2: But whether that be a year, two years, three years
- 2:04Speaker 2: in the line account wait to do it again.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I feel like we could have done a movie about this.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Never mind the podcast. So let's say let's jump on
- 2:14Speaker 1: victory Monday. All right, let's let's go twenty three to
- 2:18Speaker 1: nine victory over the Cleveland Browns. Different factors break down.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Brown's obviously fall the one and five and nove defeat
- 2:24Speaker 1: to the Steelers AFC North Dog. We'll talk about it
- 2:27Speaker 1: after the top of this game is in a really
- 2:29Speaker 1: interesting position Steelers coming off the bye week. It remains
- 2:32Speaker 1: to be seen how early bye week will affect this team,
- 2:35Speaker 1: but certainly in a good position now, you know, I
- 2:37Speaker 1: think we all would have took one to win in Dublin,
- 2:40Speaker 1: but also going in the week seven early week as well,
- 2:43Speaker 1: sitting four and one on the season, the best team
- 2:47Speaker 1: in the AFC North Aaron Rodgers twenty one to thirty
- 2:51Speaker 1: and thirty five yards, two touchdowns on the dead no
- 2:53Speaker 1: rushing touchdowns for the team. But we've seen DK pick
- 2:57Speaker 1: up an our touchdown and Connor Heward as well kind
- 3:00Speaker 1: of get touchdown. Good to see him get one as well.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Defense as well. Were you happy with the game where
- 3:06Speaker 1: their elements he would have liked to see m improves
- 3:08Speaker 1: or what was your general thought of that game? Yeah?
- 3:11Speaker 2: Overall, very very happy. And what I'm happy about is
- 3:14Speaker 2: you can see the clear improvement week by week on
- 3:16Speaker 2: both sides of the ball, starting on the offensive side.
- 3:19Speaker 1: MC.
- 3:19Speaker 2: A lot of Fairweather fans might say, well, it's only
- 3:21Speaker 2: the Browns, sorry, but as much as I can't stand them,
- 3:25Speaker 2: they're ranked top three in the league in almost every
- 3:28Speaker 2: defensive category every year. So this was never going to
- 3:30Speaker 2: be an easy game. And as you've just mentioned, Darn Rodgers,
- 3:33Speaker 2: he wasn't asked to carry the load, but when called upon,
- 3:36Speaker 2: he was sharp. You know, as you've mentioned, their twohundred
- 3:37Speaker 2: and thirty five yards, two touchdowns, no turnovers, which is
- 3:40Speaker 2: the key. And that connection with DK is really starting
- 3:43Speaker 2: to blossom into something special. I mean that that third
- 3:46Speaker 2: that touchdowns, striking a third quarter was just tax book
- 3:49Speaker 2: Arn Rodgers patients precise perfectly timed. It's actually dkse fourth
- 3:53Speaker 2: straight game with the touchdowns, so we're really starting to
- 3:55Speaker 2: see the payoff of having him as our number one
- 3:58Speaker 2: receiver coming through. And I just can't go through this
- 4:01Speaker 2: podcast without mentioning Broderick Jones. I mean, he went up
- 4:04Speaker 2: against Miles Yard, one of the best premieres pass rushers
- 4:07Speaker 2: in this league, and Yard start line. It was two tackles,
- 4:10Speaker 2: zero tackles for losses, zero sacks, and zero quarterback pressures.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I mean, Broderick Jones has been through a lot of
- 4:16Speaker 2: hate recently with all the expectations around him, but he's
- 4:19Speaker 2: absolutely answered his critics and what was by far the
- 4:22Speaker 2: best performance of his career. Did it just so defensively
- 4:25Speaker 2: as well as good as the Cleveland Browns defense is,
- 4:28Speaker 2: their offense was always going to struggle against our star
- 4:31Speaker 2: studied unit. I mean, there's nowhere tougher to make your
- 4:34Speaker 2: debut on American soil MANA odd of course he played
- 4:37Speaker 2: last week at the at the London game. You were there,
- 4:40Speaker 2: of course, and studio we'll watched it and listen to
- 4:43Speaker 2: your analogy.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I definitely wasn't there, But one thing I will say
- 4:47Speaker 1: to this, I was sort of impressed by how Dylan
- 4:49Speaker 1: Goobile came in last weekend under that circumstances, done it
- 4:52Speaker 1: not a great game from him the week after in comparison,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and then you know, I just can't believe they treated
- 5:00Speaker 1: Joe Flacco in the circumstances. I guess they're in a
- 5:03Speaker 1: different zone to the to the Steelers.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I no, you've you've mentioned that about Joe Flaco.
- 5:08Speaker 2: We're gonna break break him down in a bit because
- 5:10Speaker 2: of course the team we're playing next, he's now quarterback
- 5:12Speaker 2: for them all of a sudden, So it just seems
- 5:14Speaker 2: like he wants to play for every other team in
- 5:16Speaker 2: the FC, nor for aside from the Steelers. But it's okay,
- 5:18Speaker 2: we don't need him. But no, honestly, you imagine they're
- 5:22Speaker 2: Dylan Gabriel. I mean the fact that the Browns awesome
- 5:24Speaker 2: to throw fifty two times was astounding to me against
- 5:28Speaker 2: our defense. I mean six sacks, constant pressure on Gabriel
- 5:32Speaker 2: from both the usual suspects and the unusual suspects. I
- 5:35Speaker 2: mean Giale and Ramsey coming off the corner chipping in
- 5:37Speaker 2: with two sacks. Even when the Browns you know, started
- 5:39Speaker 2: to move the ball a little, especially in those middle quarters,
- 5:42Speaker 2: Michael defense really tightened up and made the stops when
- 5:44Speaker 2: it mattered. Most there's not really much to complain about now,
- 5:47Speaker 2: if we are being picky ten padalleies, I mean not
- 5:50Speaker 2: something mc tommin will definitely hammer hole the fourth Thursday night.
- 5:53Speaker 2: But overall we're in a really good spot heading and
- 5:55Speaker 2: in that web find of season, so overall very happy.
- 5:58Speaker 1: It's one thing you said you couldn't let this pod.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I told with certain guys, I can't let this podcast go,
- 6:03Speaker 1: not just being obvious, but somebody like Patrick quin In
- 6:06Speaker 1: the last three games he has had three pass deflections,
- 6:10Speaker 1: five tackles for lost, a sack and thirty tackles. I
- 6:15Speaker 1: think he assists on Sunday. You know, it's one thing
- 6:18Speaker 1: having these defensive leaders, but then you have PQ there
- 6:21Speaker 1: as well. These guys are just finding ways to come
- 6:23Speaker 1: in and make plays. And yeah, people will say it's
- 6:25Speaker 1: the Brands. Brian still cause a bit of trouble in London.
- 6:27Speaker 1: You can see they have moments. We know how good
- 6:31Speaker 1: Quinn Shaw Jenkins is and he was only limited to
- 6:34Speaker 1: thirty six yards on the ground on twelve attempts on Sunday.
- 6:38Speaker 1: This is good practice for this team. They are going
- 6:40Speaker 1: to have obviously a really interesting schedule coming up, but
- 6:43Speaker 1: different guys really showing out. Man. I guess one thing
- 6:45Speaker 1: I will say, if you want to erect both of
- 6:47Speaker 1: this and Jalen highest rusher fifty two yards, they can
- 6:51Speaker 1: run game going a bit more. But I always thought
- 6:53Speaker 1: whenever we lost Nagia but that it was going to
- 6:55Speaker 1: go down a little bit. But it's going to take time.
- 6:57Speaker 1: If that's the only thing we're worried about now is
- 6:59Speaker 1: trying to elevate out a bit more, we're definitely in
- 7:02Speaker 1: a good position.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I think, yeah, no, And of course you know in
- 7:05Speaker 2: the stats sheet it didn't look pretty. But overall, I
- 7:07Speaker 2: think I think we were average in close to four
- 7:09Speaker 2: yards per carr. I mean, I know that doesn't sound
- 7:11Speaker 2: like a lot, but if you ask any Steelers fan
- 7:14Speaker 2: over the last ten years, Michael, where we struggled, it's
- 7:17Speaker 2: been running the ball. I mean, you asked the lights
- 7:19Speaker 2: of Naji Horse what it's been like behind the offensive line.
- 7:22Speaker 2: I don't think we've had a really good young game
- 7:25Speaker 2: since the days of L'veon Bell. So we've seen the
- 7:27Speaker 2: game in Dublin kennef Deanwell went up for over one
- 7:29Speaker 2: hundred yards. I reckon it's only a matter of time
- 7:31Speaker 2: before Jalen gets his sure, and I think it could
- 7:33Speaker 2: be this week against the Bengals defense, which not a
- 7:36Speaker 2: really good you know, defensively, never really have been great.
- 7:40Speaker 2: They have the likes of Trey Hendrickson, who's a good player.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Apparently he's questionable. I watched a bit of the game
- 7:45Speaker 2: on Sunday against the Packers. He came off with an injury.
- 7:48Speaker 2: So aside from that, there's not really a lot going
- 7:50Speaker 2: for them, and I think this could be a week
- 7:52Speaker 2: that we finally see Jalen Warren. I mean I'm watching
- 7:54Speaker 2: him and he's breaking tackles. I mean he's under six
- 7:57Speaker 2: foot and he's breaking tackles for four or five yards.
- 7:59Speaker 2: He's picking up you know, monstery arts. So of course
- 8:02Speaker 2: it doesn't look good on the stat sheet, but you know,
- 8:04Speaker 2: the eight test overall, I'm very very happy with Woreos
- 8:06Speaker 2: and it's only gonna go up from here.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Let's jump into that in a few moments. In this
- 8:12Speaker 1: furious night football game. It's it's a weird week. It's
- 8:14Speaker 1: a short week for the staters. Obviously a massive game
- 8:17Speaker 1: coming up, and it's the AFC North it always is
- 8:20Speaker 1: obviously very very important. Bengals are sitting two and four
- 8:23Speaker 1: let's hear from coach Somlon on this podcast, not just
- 8:26Speaker 1: on the upcoming game against the Bengals, but also looking
- 8:28Speaker 1: back on that victory on Sunday against the Cleveland Bryan's
- 8:31Speaker 1: here on the Irish Hitters Podcast presented by Erlings.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Are you going to establish a rapport? If you will,
- 8:39Speaker 3: and to do so in a short week, it's a
- 8:41Speaker 3: big time challenge, But we better do it. We better
- 8:43Speaker 3: stay on schedule, We better minimize our one dimensional passing
- 8:47Speaker 3: circumstances if we want to reduce our exposure to tray Man.
- 8:52Speaker 3: They got they got a secondary that's been together now
- 8:54Speaker 3: for a while. They went through a transition there with
- 8:57Speaker 3: the loss of some significant players a couple of year
- 9:00Speaker 3: years ago, but guys like DJ Turner and Dax Hill
- 9:03Speaker 3: and Geno stone Man have been together for multiple years now.
- 9:07Speaker 3: You feel that cohesion or the things that they're able
- 9:10Speaker 3: to do in the secondary to move people around, to
- 9:13Speaker 3: get in complex of schematics and check systems of coverage.
- 9:18Speaker 3: You see it. They do an awesome job on possession,
- 9:21Speaker 3: down play, getting sub packaged people in there and and
- 9:25Speaker 3: really matching up with with whatever you put on the field.
- 9:28Speaker 3: And so we got a full weeks ahead of us
- 9:30Speaker 3: from a prep standpoint, getting familiar with coach Golden and
- 9:34Speaker 3: and and some of the new pieces and even some
- 9:36Speaker 3: of the old pieces in terms of how they're deploying
- 9:39Speaker 3: them this week. On the offensive side, certainly the story
- 9:43Speaker 3: is Joe Flacco, and you know it's reasonable to expect
- 9:47Speaker 3: him to be significantly better in week two. He's been
- 9:51Speaker 3: in the stadium with them. Uh, They've been in the
- 9:54Speaker 3: stadium with him. They understand his demeanor, how he deals
- 9:57Speaker 3: with circumstances. I would imagine they worked harder we could
- 10:01Speaker 3: go on developing time and and cohesion. I'd imagine is
- 10:04Speaker 3: taking a significant step after having done so under some
- 10:07Speaker 3: live football circumstances. I saw him make some anticipatory throws
- 10:12Speaker 3: even last week, and so I thought he was significantly
- 10:15Speaker 3: better as the game were on. And so certainly we
- 10:18Speaker 3: got a full week's work ahead of us in terms
- 10:19Speaker 3: of minimizing a veteran, savvy, talented thrower like him, coupled
- 10:25Speaker 3: with the eligibles that they have, and so that certainly
- 10:30Speaker 3: has our attention. How they're choosing to deploy their backs
- 10:36Speaker 3: in the run game also has our attention. Brown obviously
- 10:41Speaker 3: is the featured runner. He's very good on the perimeter
- 10:44Speaker 3: and in the spring. In the screen game, they run
- 10:47Speaker 3: a lot of tosses and so forth. They use a
- 10:50Speaker 3: nice arsenal of tight ends, sample samples, Gooseki. They do
- 10:57Speaker 3: a nice job of mixing up the schematics when when
- 11:00Speaker 3: they go to those guys in a variety of ways,
- 11:02Speaker 3: so you don't get a beat on their usage. Zach's
- 11:06Speaker 3: called it for a long time. He's familiar with our
- 11:09Speaker 3: defensive schematics, and so we're in for all day's work
- 11:13Speaker 3: with that collective as well. I would imagine there'll be
- 11:16Speaker 3: a certain level of excitement, man, those guys having Joe
- 11:19Speaker 3: Flaccu in a home venue on a Thursday night and
- 11:21Speaker 3: some primetime ball. We covet that as well. We love
- 11:26Speaker 3: going into hostile environments. We love the visional play. We
- 11:29Speaker 3: certainly love and respect and appreciate being a component of
- 11:32Speaker 3: primetime football and being able to put our talents on
- 11:36Speaker 3: display for the football world. And so to appreciate that
- 11:40Speaker 3: and respect that is one thing. To be prepared for
- 11:43Speaker 3: it and to bring it to fruition is another.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Good to hear from coach Thomman on this podcast and
- 11:49Speaker 1: Zava before we talk about this first night match up,
- 11:52Speaker 1: I know we promise it will eve it. Like if
- 11:54Speaker 1: you look at the AFC North, Theears are certainly in
- 11:58Speaker 1: a position I think a lot of us, I think
- 12:00Speaker 1: we all thought that when you bring in somebody like
- 12:02Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers and you make that move to bring in
- 12:03Speaker 1: d Ken the offense, there's all that they're always going
- 12:06Speaker 1: to be up there. In coach Tomlin's time, they've never
- 12:09Speaker 1: had a losing season. They've always been in and around
- 12:11Speaker 1: that position. But one thing that stood out over the
- 12:14Speaker 1: last four or five years is how competitive this division
- 12:17Speaker 1: has been in relation to the rest of the AFC.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Like we knew we've seen the Bengals sorry made obviously
- 12:22Speaker 1: a Super Bowl run a few years ago. The Ravens
- 12:24Speaker 1: have always been up there, and the Browns not very recently,
- 12:29Speaker 1: but we know that Joe Flacco got them almost to
- 12:33Speaker 1: the Promised Land at one point last year as well.
- 12:36Speaker 1: So this is a division which has always been very
- 12:38Speaker 1: topsy turvey, a division which has been very, very competitive.
- 12:41Speaker 1: And this year, you know, Touchwood, we're going in the
- 12:44Speaker 1: Week seven here. You don't want to be the guy
- 12:46Speaker 1: to set in this podcast, but this year, man, things
- 12:49Speaker 1: seem to things seem to be going the way to
- 12:51Speaker 1: the Pittsburgh Seeders so far. Bengals trading away Joe Flacco,
- 12:55Speaker 1: we seen and we'll talk about in a minute about
- 12:58Speaker 1: how they played against the Packers. We know as well
- 13:01Speaker 1: with the Browns, the struggles that they have had in
- 13:04Speaker 1: terms of getting to that sort of point. They obviously
- 13:09Speaker 1: we're very competitive in London, couldn't get there as well.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Ravens sitting one in five after six weeks and in
- 13:17Speaker 1: NFL history, only four teams in NFL history have made
- 13:21Speaker 1: the playoffs. And we know Lamar's injury, but still they're struggling.
- 13:25Speaker 1: What a window of opportunity for the Steelers team. And
- 13:27Speaker 1: frankly now that bug, Yes, you go out to win
- 13:30Speaker 1: all your games, especially THEFC North games. I feel like
- 13:33Speaker 1: the Staders almost need to look past the division, which
- 13:35Speaker 1: I'm sure they're doing, and just win every game they
- 13:37Speaker 1: can and actually look at the AFC overall.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and of course we're in a really really strong position,
- 13:43Speaker 2: there's no doubt not. But I think even Deshaun Elliott
- 13:46Speaker 2: said it best in one of his postgame comments. We're
- 13:49Speaker 2: just focusing on ourselves. I mean, the rest can sort
- 13:51Speaker 2: of look at themselves and they have to dust themselves
- 13:53Speaker 2: down and deal with our injuries. But we're just going
- 13:55Speaker 2: to focus on a week by week and you know
- 13:58Speaker 2: you imagined there. But the Ravens, you know, they're on five.
- 14:00Speaker 2: They're also on a bay this week, and the Browns
- 14:02Speaker 2: host a desperate Dolphins team that you know, it's a
- 14:05Speaker 2: perfect opportunity to put a strangle hold.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Really nearly won against the Chargers as well'll they'll they'll
- 14:10Speaker 1: be really as well.
- 14:11Speaker 2: They'll be they'll be desperate to come out and win
- 14:13Speaker 2: a game. I mean, you know, so we're worth sitting
- 14:16Speaker 2: here with Ravens are not going to play this week,
- 14:19Speaker 2: We're playing the Bengals. We could potentially have this division
- 14:22Speaker 2: wrapped up. I don't want to say that, do you
- 14:23Speaker 2: Manchine there. I don't want to be the gay to
- 14:25Speaker 2: say it, but I will say it. We could have
- 14:26Speaker 2: this division wrapped up by Thanksgiving. So really looking forward to,
- 14:30Speaker 2: you know, seeing how it develops. I mean, just on
- 14:32Speaker 2: the Thursday night game, Prime Time lights a chance for
- 14:36Speaker 2: the Steelers to know, keep them Mantum ruling. It's forty
- 14:39Speaker 2: one year old Aran Rodgers against forty year old Joe
- 14:41Speaker 2: Flacco and an FC North showdown.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Image of eighty one years of age combined. That's mental.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Who would have thought? Who would have thought it? I
- 14:51Speaker 2: mean four or five years ago, you wouldn't have said
- 14:53Speaker 2: that Joe Facta would have been playing for the Bengals.
- 14:55Speaker 2: You wouldn't said Aaron Rodgers would be playing for the Steelers.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I mean, it's really like father time is as slow
- 15:00Speaker 2: down time for these two quarterbacks. And I watched your
- 15:02Speaker 2: Flago against the Packers. You can still sling it, you
- 15:04Speaker 2: can still play ball. So yeah, look, I'm looking forward
- 15:08Speaker 2: to it, and I'm looking forward to even just even
- 15:09Speaker 2: chopping and changing here.
- 15:10Speaker 1: But for you, and one thing I will say, Davog is,
- 15:15Speaker 1: you know I'll give you Flacco's props. Have the chance
- 15:18Speaker 1: to meet both quarterbacks, and what I will say from
- 15:20Speaker 1: meeting them both is, Yes, they're in their forties, they're
- 15:23Speaker 1: football guys. They love the game of football. And I'm
- 15:25Speaker 1: almost happy that Flacco has an opportunity at his age
- 15:29Speaker 1: to go into these games and play these games. And
- 15:32Speaker 1: it's going to be interesting to see how he plays.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Just before we talk about this game and just about
- 15:36Speaker 1: how we talk about the Bengals against the Packers since
- 15:39Speaker 1: we've actually been so we've started recording just after twelve
- 15:42Speaker 1: eastern of Monday. Obviously this game coming up on Thursday,
- 15:44Speaker 1: and Trey Hendrickson has been announced just over the last
- 15:47Speaker 1: few moments as day to day with a back injury.
- 15:50Speaker 1: He said a good result in MRI, so they even
- 15:52Speaker 1: have a chance to play on Thursday the Bengals, Davog
- 15:54Speaker 1: will see. That certainly is positive news after what could
- 15:58Speaker 1: have been. And then Mike is sick. Looks like he's
- 16:01Speaker 1: going to be out for the Bengals. He's been quoted
- 16:03Speaker 1: by Zach Taelor as being out for a while. At
- 16:06Speaker 1: the end of the day, man, it doesn't matter. Go
- 16:11Speaker 1: win the games, get that w You're on the road
- 16:15Speaker 1: in the divisional matchup in prime time on Virgin and
- 16:18Speaker 1: Night Football. Go win the game. Bengals. Man, at one
- 16:22Speaker 1: point last night looked like they could actually come back
- 16:24Speaker 1: and make something of the game. And that is one
- 16:27Speaker 1: issue I look at this game. I'm not sure what
- 16:28Speaker 1: you think. Joe Flacco has that ability to make plays
- 16:33Speaker 1: if he has enough space and not enough pressure coming
- 16:35Speaker 1: on him, because he's been there, He's done that. Now
- 16:38Speaker 1: with what it is his third team in the AFC
- 16:41Speaker 1: North at this point. So certainly, you know, I don't
- 16:45Speaker 1: want to say a trap game, but we know that
- 16:48Speaker 1: this Bengals team can make plays. They've got some great
- 16:50Speaker 1: weapons on the offense. Regardless if they're sitting two and four,
- 16:53Speaker 1: they're gonna be looking at this going world at home.
- 16:55Speaker 1: This is our fortress. Let's make it happen.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's it's it's one of those macwhere we're
- 17:00Speaker 2: playing against a season battern. Who knows how to play
- 17:03Speaker 2: against the Pittsburgh Steelers. I mean, who else could write
- 17:07Speaker 2: a thesis if you like, on how to play the
- 17:09Speaker 2: Pittsburgh Steelers And Joe Flacco main he's played for the
- 17:11Speaker 2: Ravens for years, he's played for the Browns, and now
- 17:13Speaker 2: he's playing for the Bengals. So, you know, last week,
- 17:16Speaker 2: just as you mentioned they were about last week, there
- 17:17Speaker 2: was a lot of trends topped, you know, like how
- 17:19Speaker 2: the Browns have never won in Pittsburgh since two thousand
- 17:23Speaker 2: and three. Here's another start for you, Michael. They think
- 17:25Speaker 2: you're gonna like this since the open of pey Core
- 17:27Speaker 2: Stadium formally I'm known as Paul Brown Stadium in two thousand,
- 17:31Speaker 2: the Steelers in the Bengals have mossed up twenty seven times.
- 17:34Speaker 2: The Pittsburgh Steelers have won twenty two times on that occasion.
- 17:38Speaker 2: So head into Cincinnati this week doesn't exactly scream intimidating
- 17:42Speaker 2: if you are we're on black and gold, and you
- 17:43Speaker 2: know this team, this year's Bengals have been struggling. There's
- 17:46Speaker 2: no doubt about it. Just looking on some of the stats,
- 17:48Speaker 2: their defense racks ranks sacond worse than the league. So far,
- 17:52Speaker 2: they've given up over sixteen hundred yards and only the
- 17:54Speaker 2: Cowboys have allowed more and not as you've mentioned there
- 17:56Speaker 2: Bitray Handrickson, he's listening to this question. But after Sunday's
- 17:59Speaker 2: game with the back injury, if he doesn't play, that's
- 18:02Speaker 2: essensially their past rush and given our improvement on the
- 18:05Speaker 2: offensive line, it's a prime opportunity to build confidence offer
- 18:08Speaker 2: some day strong showing. So just on the offense as well,
- 18:11Speaker 2: you know you mentioned as well, they are dangerous. Jamar
- 18:13Speaker 2: Chase on his day, he's arguably the best receiver in
- 18:15Speaker 2: the NFL. And if it's not Chas causing problems, you've
- 18:18Speaker 2: got Tea h Guns on the other side, who could
- 18:20Speaker 2: be a Number one for most NFL team, so I
- 18:23Speaker 2: expect our secondary to be tested all game long. But overall,
- 18:27Speaker 2: I'm very confident and yeah, I'm looking forward.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I'm going to call it now two keys to my game,
- 18:34Speaker 1: expose and get Kenny gainwell more yards. Only had six
- 18:37Speaker 1: opportunities on Sunday when they were playing the Cleveland Browns.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I really enjoy Washington or now Washington in terms of
- 18:45Speaker 1: the tight end fine different ways because we know they're
- 18:48Speaker 1: going to double team DK and allow Arn Rodgers to
- 18:51Speaker 1: make those decisions because I expect them to bring the
- 18:54Speaker 1: pressure early when the energy is up there. The reality
- 18:58Speaker 1: is for both teams that have both on Earth League week,
- 19:01Speaker 1: they're both going to get tired inside that third fourth quarter.
- 19:04Speaker 1: So running the ball is going to be very very effective,
- 19:06Speaker 1: also very very important. Just before we go, if I
- 19:09Speaker 1: was to say, twenty seven fourteen victory, what would you
- 19:17Speaker 1: say if you had to give back?
- 19:20Speaker 2: Do you know what? I would love to agree on
- 19:23Speaker 2: that start MC. I mean, that would be very comfortable.
- 19:25Speaker 2: But I've looked at our record on Thursday Night football
- 19:28Speaker 2: over the past few years. I think in the last
- 19:30Speaker 2: eleven meetings were actually two to nine, which does not
- 19:33Speaker 2: read great. However, I will say I'm extremely confident in
- 19:36Speaker 2: this team and coaching staff and expect another big day
- 19:40Speaker 2: from DK Matcalff against relatively inexperienced Bengals defense. So make
- 19:45Speaker 2: keys of the game are definitely getting DK the ball.
- 19:47Speaker 2: But I also said, as I mentioned earlier, I think
- 19:49Speaker 2: Jayalen Warren is due for a breakout game of the year.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Kenny did have his day in Dublin a few weeks ago,
- 19:54Speaker 2: but I think it's Stalenes turn out just another thing
- 19:57Speaker 2: as well. I thought it would hardball. I know it's
- 19:59Speaker 2: never easy as easy as it looks on paper, and
- 20:02Speaker 2: we did see it last year on Thursday Night Football.
- 20:04Speaker 2: I don't know if you remember Michael coming in and
- 20:06Speaker 2: feeling like the team the Snow Game facing a backup
- 20:10Speaker 2: in James Winston playing a two and eight Browns team
- 20:13Speaker 2: and we lost. You know, short week divisional games have
- 20:16Speaker 2: a weft thrown form and record out of the windows,
- 20:18Speaker 2: so I think it might be a lot closer than
- 20:20Speaker 2: most expact, I do think we will win. A win
- 20:22Speaker 2: is a win and I'll take it every day of
- 20:24Speaker 2: the week. But I think it will be Steelers twenty
- 20:25Speaker 2: four Bengals twenty and as I always say, you can
- 20:28Speaker 2: take that off to the bank. Well, don't it the bank.
- 20:30Speaker 1: But I've missed that. I've missed here and it's been
- 20:35Speaker 1: a few weeks too long for that. Man. We're both
- 20:37Speaker 1: on the same page to an extent there. I like it.
- 20:39Speaker 1: The Steelers have the opportunity to open up a three
- 20:42Speaker 1: game swing at the top of the AFC North before
- 20:44Speaker 1: a ball is even throwing the rest of the weekend
- 20:47Speaker 1: if they can win on Thursday Night football obviously in
- 20:49Speaker 1: the we ares as we call it on Friday morning.
- 20:52Speaker 1: That game is live on Sky Sports NFL in Ireland
- 20:56Speaker 1: and in the UK as well if you're listening, and
- 20:59Speaker 1: also you can non o TV Sports radio from now
- 21:01Speaker 1: for myself Michael from Dvogue. We will be back dialogue
- 21:05Speaker 1: back in a couple of weeks, I hope. I presume
- 21:06Speaker 1: you're welcome on every time. I'm brilliant to hear from
- 21:08Speaker 1: me again. Hoping to have a podcast rack into this
- 21:11Speaker 1: game either on Friday or early next week on Monday,
- 21:14Speaker 1: and then it might be a very interesting week next week.
- 21:17Speaker 1: More on that very soon with davog Girmy Logan and
- 21:20Speaker 1: thanks to everybody for listening. We will chat you very
- 21:21Speaker 1: soon here we Goma.
- 21:24Speaker 2: I'll get back here we go
