- Sean Graver: You've been measuring yourself against someone else again, haven't you? Where they are, what they built, how fast they got there. Somewhere in that comparison, you came up short, at least in your own head. So let's talk about that a bit and then pray. So Galatians ⁓ chapter six, verses four and five reads, Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load. So the apostle Paul is quite direct here. Test your own actions, not theirs. Carry your own load, not the weight of how you measure up to someone else's success. The standard isn't them, it's the work God has given you to do. I'm done with integrity and wholeheartedness. I mean, that's it. Comparison at work is relentless right now. I mean, every time I'm linked on LinkedIn, it feels more like a comparison engine than a networking platform. Every promotion announcement, every milestone post, every excited to share update is data in your brain, or that your brain immediately files under where am I relative to that? And the math never works out in your favor because you're comparing your full story, including all the parts that nobody sees, to their curated highlights. Now here's what comparison actually costs you. Presence. Every minute you spend measuring yourself against someone else is a minute. You're not fully in your own lane, doing your own work, building your own thing. I mean, you're running their race and losing your own. Remember, your calling is not their calling, and your timeline is not their timeline. And the work God has given you to do is not made better or worse by what someone else is doing next to you. The only question worth asking today is Am I being faithful with what I've been given? And that's your load. Carry it well. God, I confess that it's easy to compare ourselves with others. More than we'd like to admit. And it robs of robs us of something every every time. might be peace or focus, gratitude, you know, for our own path. So today, would you help us to test our own actions? And let that be enough. Help us to run the race you marked out for us without constantly looking at who's next to us. Help us to celebrate other people's wins without using them as evidence that that we're behind. And remind us that you have a specific work for us to do, not a generic one, not one measured against someone else. Just ours. Help us to do that with everything we have today. Keep our eyes on our own lane. In Jesus' name. Amen. And go make today count.
