- 0:02Speaker 1: J J.
- 0:02Speaker 2: I know you said before the game that the message was,
- 0:04Speaker 2: you know, kind of we've got your back, Luca. But
- 0:07Speaker 2: how impressed were you with with how he played throughout
- 0:09Speaker 2: the night and kind of what he was able to accomplish.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Let me let me start by saying.
- 0:18Speaker 3: The the moment with a tribute video and him sitting
- 0:26Speaker 3: by himself and getting to actually live that and live
- 0:32Speaker 3: in the moment and allowing himself to be vulnerable, and
- 0:37Speaker 3: his teammates supporting. Some of his teammates got emotional, some
- 0:40Speaker 3: of the coaches got emotional. It's a beautiful moment. I
- 0:45Speaker 3: thought the video was great, but I think just his
- 0:48Speaker 3: ability to then go perform lights turn on. He you know,
- 0:54Speaker 3: he's teary eyed still as we walk out on the
- 0:56Speaker 3: court for the tipball. To have the emotional resolve to
- 1:02Speaker 3: then go put on that kind of performance, it's superhuman.
- 1:10Speaker 3: And I think all his teammates know that too, because
- 1:12Speaker 3: I think all his teammates can empathize with what he
- 1:15Speaker 3: just went through over the last couple of months and
- 1:21Speaker 3: maybe some anticipation, maybe some dread, but certainly a ton
- 1:26Speaker 3: of emotions about tonight and then he went and did that.
- 1:31Speaker 3: It's big time, and you know, he let us I
- 1:34Speaker 3: thought lebron in the second half, the amount of energy
- 1:39Speaker 3: that he expended on the second night of a back
- 1:41Speaker 3: to back on both ends of the court, teach tape stuff.
- 1:43Speaker 3: He led our defense again, We challenged the guys at
- 1:46Speaker 3: halftime and had a forty points second half. You know,
- 1:52Speaker 3: we had a small little blip there to start the
- 1:54Speaker 3: fourth quarter, but our guys certainly had Luca's back, and
- 2:03Speaker 3: he had his teammates back for sure.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Just to follow up on Luca, you you know, as
- 2:07Speaker 2: a former teammate and then you spent years watching him,
- 2:10Speaker 2: He's known to rise to big moments. I suppose it's
- 2:13Speaker 2: fair to say, but to be able to do it
- 2:15Speaker 2: in on top of the emotional setting is is that
- 2:18Speaker 2: kind of a different level.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I thought he was going to get fifty.
- 2:22Speaker 3: You know, I was disappointed, so we let you down.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Obviously, there was a lot of benefits probably for Luca
- 2:32Speaker 4: moving on from this, having this, being being able to
- 2:35Speaker 4: put this behind him. But I'm curious though about what
- 2:37Speaker 4: you feel, like you mentioned kind of his teammates being
- 2:41Speaker 4: able to live that moment with him when he came
- 2:43Speaker 4: off the court. I don't know if you noticed it
- 2:44Speaker 4: in the fourth the embraces he got, particularly the one
- 2:48Speaker 4: he got from Lebron as he walked up the corn
- 2:50Speaker 4: to the fourth quarter, Like, what can this do for
- 2:51Speaker 4: your group? As you guys are gonna you know, you're
- 2:55Speaker 4: a couple of games away from like really getting tested
- 2:57Speaker 4: in ways that you know, teams that are put together
- 3:01Speaker 4: this quickly, you know haven't always done.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Very well with it can bring you together, It can
- 3:11Speaker 1: bring you closer. You never know.
- 3:18Speaker 3: NBA is a fickle thing, Greg, Greg and I were
- 3:23Speaker 3: talking as that moment was happening, both kind of fighting
- 3:29Speaker 3: back some emotions, and you know, Greg said to me,
- 3:34Speaker 3: this is going to be awesome for our group to
- 3:38Speaker 3: go through this with him and for him to go
- 3:40Speaker 3: through this with them. Does that mean we're going to
- 3:46Speaker 3: win an NBA championship or get to the conference? I
- 3:51Speaker 3: don't know, but it was an awesome moment for everyone.
- 3:57Speaker 5: When he started rolling in the first quarter hits the
- 4:00Speaker 5: three in front of your guys bench tacked on a
- 4:03Speaker 5: couple more threes that quarter. What was the feeling was
- 4:07Speaker 5: there like a palpable kind of momentum? And did you
- 4:10Speaker 5: feel in Luke at all? And ease or any sort
- 4:14Speaker 5: of comfort having gotten over the initial wave of what
- 4:17Speaker 5: the night was going to be about, and then getting
- 4:19Speaker 5: into the basketball.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I just I thought making some early shots, not
- 4:25Speaker 3: getting off to a slow start, and then all of
- 4:27Speaker 3: a sudden having depressed later. It just he got into
- 4:30Speaker 3: the rhythm early, and you know, outside of that stretch
- 4:33Speaker 3: in the second half where they were double teaming him,
- 4:37Speaker 3: he never really lost that rhythm and just made the
- 4:41Speaker 3: right decision and was able to score versus nearly every coverage.
- 4:51Speaker 6: The goal was to make the playoffs outright, avoid the plan.
- 4:54Speaker 6: I know you guys still have more work to do,
- 4:55Speaker 6: but you guarantee that for yourselves, your first time experiencing
- 4:59Speaker 6: as a coach. Just how does it feel and what
- 5:01Speaker 6: you guys told the group from that standpoint post game,
- 5:04Speaker 6: if you're ele see addressed it after.
- 5:05Speaker 3: That, We did, I mean we we we There's a
- 5:08Speaker 3: few things that we talked about as a group, but
- 5:10Speaker 3: I we're told we were in Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah,
- 5:17Speaker 3: I think it's a it's an accomplishment, truthfully, it is.
- 5:21Speaker 3: If you look at the Western Conference this year, it's
- 5:24Speaker 3: an accomplishment to be in the playoffs. We want the
- 5:27Speaker 3: third seed and we have two more cracks to guarantee
- 5:31Speaker 3: that spot for me as a coach, I don't know.
- 5:38Speaker 3: I'm thinking about the third seed, to be honest with you,
- 5:42Speaker 3: so i'll I mean, it's a cool moment to share
- 5:45Speaker 3: when we found out, you know, with the staff. But uh,
- 5:48Speaker 3: we want we want more jaj.
- 5:51Speaker 2: After you had made that run to kind of reclaim
- 5:53Speaker 2: control in the fourth quarter. That was that one crazy play.
- 5:57Speaker 2: But you seem trying to stifle us market. What did
- 6:00Speaker 2: you see?
- 6:01Speaker 1: I saw the Harlem Globe club trotter.
- 6:03Speaker 3: What was happening there? I have no I have no
- 6:05Speaker 3: idea as I what is it a whirling dervish or something.
- 6:11Speaker 3: I just we actually made some sick plays, you know.
- 6:15Speaker 3: We had some crashes got it, got it, multiple multiple
- 6:19Speaker 3: cracks at it. It felt like on that play, you know,
- 6:24Speaker 3: you you almost want to make a uh emphatic statement
- 6:29Speaker 3: at the end of the play with some sort of
- 6:31Speaker 3: dunk or three or behind the back pass.
- 6:33Speaker 1: And he got out of control. He got out of control.
- 6:37Speaker 6: Thanks
