- 0:03Speaker 1: This is best question of the week.
- 0:05Speaker 2: You can send these anytime radio from hell at x
- 0:08Speaker 2: ninety six dot com.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Just put best question in the subject line and we
- 0:11Speaker 1: might read your question on the air and answer.
- 0:13Speaker 2: It about anything. All right, let's see a couple of
- 0:17Speaker 2: quick ones here. This one from Melanie. Gina, how did
- 0:21Speaker 2: you get your eyebrows looking so fabulous after having plucked
- 0:24Speaker 2: the hell out of them back in the day like
- 0:26Speaker 2: I did? Okay, Melanie, here's what you do. All right,
- 0:29Speaker 2: this is gonna sound weird. You can get monoxidil, which
- 0:33Speaker 2: is rogaine.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Right.
- 0:35Speaker 1: That's not just for men, it's for women, Yes, but
- 0:40Speaker 1: I like it too, Yeah, and by the men.
- 0:43Speaker 2: They sell it for men, and women buy the men's
- 0:46Speaker 2: because it's cheaper. And you take a little mascara wand
- 0:50Speaker 2: and you put a little bit of rogain on the
- 0:52Speaker 2: wand and you brush it on your eyebrows.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Now, but the trick is you do it.
- 0:59Speaker 2: At night time before you go to bed, but not
- 1:01Speaker 2: right before you go to bed, because you want it
- 1:03Speaker 2: to dry before you put your head on the pillow,
- 1:06Speaker 2: because if you put your head on the pillow when
- 1:08Speaker 2: it's wet and it rubs around, you're gonna end up
- 1:11Speaker 2: with hair and weird places.
- 1:13Speaker 3: It'll be the wolf boy, yeah, wolf girl.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah, So try that. Next we have let's see from Nicholas.
- 1:21Speaker 2: I've been listening for about fifteen years now, and one
- 1:23Speaker 2: of my favorite segments is Boner of the Week with
- 1:25Speaker 2: Dave the flower guy that said, I don't really know
- 1:28Speaker 2: much about him. How did Dave become a part of
- 1:30Speaker 2: the show. He seems like one of the kindest people
- 1:33Speaker 2: out there, and I would love to learn more about him.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Dave is I and I don't remember what year this
- 1:40Speaker 3: would have been. What year, I'm not sure we were.
- 1:43Speaker 3: He might remember, he probably does.
- 1:45Speaker 4: We were doing our so we were doing our show
- 1:48Speaker 4: at Trolley Corners and we had there was a coffee
- 1:51Speaker 4: shop which was part of our radio station. It was
- 1:55Speaker 4: a grand concept that we would have a coffee shop
- 1:58Speaker 4: and radio station.
- 1:59Speaker 5: It was a great idea, just a bad location for it.
- 2:02Speaker 5: I think it would have worked if we were in
- 2:04Speaker 5: a different look.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Maybe if we were downtown, Yeah, if we.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Were someplace with a lot of traffic, but traffic, but
- 2:09Speaker 4: there was so our studio had a window into the
- 2:14Speaker 4: coffee shop, a big window, picture window. And we noticed
- 2:18Speaker 4: that this guy would come and stand at the window
- 2:22Speaker 4: pretty much every day. And he had on these big
- 2:27Speaker 4: radio earphones. You don't see him much anymore, and they're
- 2:31Speaker 4: kind of hard to come by, as we've found out,
- 2:34Speaker 4: but there's it's radios built into a set of headphones,
- 2:37Speaker 4: and he would stand there and watch watch the.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Show and listen. He was listening to it on these.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Radio and we were on delay because we'd make a
- 2:47Speaker 5: joke and then he would laugh, like later.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Five or six seconds later. Yeah, so so, and it
- 2:53Speaker 4: was we just got curious about who he was. I
- 2:57Speaker 4: don't remember if he ever had coffee. He didn't have
- 2:59Speaker 4: coffee because he doesn't do that. But so I think
- 3:03Speaker 4: just one day I went out and talked to him
- 3:05Speaker 4: a little bit and and he's obviously had some disabilities,
- 3:11Speaker 4: a little difficulty talking, a little difficululty walking, and but
- 3:15Speaker 4: I went out started talking to him, and I thought,
- 3:17Speaker 4: this is an interesting person. He'd started telling me about who,
- 3:21Speaker 4: what he who, what he did at the time. He
- 3:23Speaker 4: mowed lawns. He had he had a tractor, and I thought, oh, yeah,
- 3:26Speaker 4: you're the guy he's driving around town on a riding lawnmower.
- 3:30Speaker 2: And that's why he would come in in the morning.
- 3:32Speaker 2: It was like kind of before his work day to.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Get out there.
- 3:36Speaker 4: And so I then I, so I brought him into
- 3:38Speaker 4: the studio and we started talking to him on the
- 3:41Speaker 4: on the air and not.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Just mowing lawns but selling flowers.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and Dave is someone who he has cerebral palsy
- 3:51Speaker 2: is what his disability is. And he figured out, Okay,
- 3:56Speaker 2: what can I do to take care of myself?
- 3:58Speaker 1: I'm my mom he used to take He lived with
- 4:00Speaker 1: his mother.
- 4:01Speaker 3: He lived with his mother.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Uh and uh he made so and she I think
- 4:06Speaker 4: she just had you know, social Security, and so she
- 4:09Speaker 4: was quite quite older, quite elderly. But he lived with
- 4:12Speaker 4: his mom, and he and and Dave and I won't
- 4:15Speaker 4: go into any of the details, but he had a heart.
- 4:17Speaker 4: He had had a hard life the way he was
- 4:20Speaker 4: treated by certain family members who are now no longer
- 4:27Speaker 4: around the Didelogue. But he just had a hard life.
- 4:30Speaker 4: But he lived with his mom and he took care
- 4:32Speaker 4: of her, and.
- 4:33Speaker 1: He mode lawns and flowers to make money.
- 4:39Speaker 4: And I don't know why we decided that he would
- 4:41Speaker 4: be the person to select the Boter of the week,
- 4:45Speaker 4: but we you know, we just did.
- 4:46Speaker 5: It was because it was hard for us to pick.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and we knew he listened every day because he
- 4:52Speaker 2: was sitting out in front of the window every day, and.
- 4:56Speaker 4: It became his job. I mean, he considers Dave considers
- 4:59Speaker 4: this his job. He's probably listening right now. He I
- 5:03Speaker 4: think he listens to every minute of every show every day.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Almost could be.
- 5:07Speaker 4: And so, you know, we started doing that and then
- 5:10Speaker 4: you know, we've been through a lot with Dave. He's
- 5:12Speaker 4: had a lot of trials and tribulations.
- 5:15Speaker 1: And friends of the program have been great.
- 5:20Speaker 2: We've we've raised money for Dave that people have contributed
- 5:23Speaker 2: to over the years. We've helped him get a couple
- 5:26Speaker 2: new tractors because that that was how he you know,
- 5:30Speaker 2: or lawnmowers, that was how he made his living. And
- 5:33Speaker 2: friends of the program for years have have helped out.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Dave's mother died a few years ago and that was
- 5:40Speaker 4: devastating for him. He didn't quite know what to do,
- 5:44Speaker 4: and so we sort of helped navigate him through that
- 5:47Speaker 4: whole process and did a gofund me, raised a lot
- 5:51Speaker 4: of money with a GoFundMe for Dave, and as a
- 5:54Speaker 4: matter of fact, so much money that people are some
- 5:59Speaker 4: of his he has some relatives who live in Wyoming
- 6:02Speaker 4: who are very nice people.
- 6:03Speaker 3: His aunt lives in Wyoming.
- 6:05Speaker 4: And they were a little bit worried about all of
- 6:07Speaker 4: that money, and you know, how's Dave going to be
- 6:10Speaker 4: able to manage it? And are people going to take
- 6:12Speaker 4: advantage of that? And so we set up we had
- 6:15Speaker 4: Wade Taylor set up a trust for Dave. And and
- 6:20Speaker 4: then this I don't know how long Chelsea's been da
- 6:23Speaker 4: Dave's friend, but a woman named Chelsea and her family
- 6:27Speaker 4: kind of sort of adopted Dave and take and they
- 6:31Speaker 4: watch out for him as well.
- 6:33Speaker 5: And that gofund me is what helped him in this,
- 6:36Speaker 5: in the scooter that he's in now.
- 6:38Speaker 1: But all of that because Dave is a self starter.
- 6:42Speaker 1: He takes care of himself.
- 6:44Speaker 4: And he's relentlessly cheerful. Yes, relentlessly cheerful.
- 6:49Speaker 5: Absolutely best question week, That's how that works.
- 6:58Speaker 3: He's fine, He's just fine. Okay.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Somebody just was asking, how.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Did you find how did you mean?
- 7:06Speaker 1: He's right there, he's waving at me.
- 7:08Speaker 4: He's fine, Heave come in here quick and help people.
- 7:13Speaker 2: You're okay, Okay, We'll have him on a little bit
- 7:18Speaker 2: to do a boner a Boner of the Week
