Speaker 1: that's okay, so we're here to help you get it.
• 0:19
Speaker 2: Right the next time around.
• 0:21
Speaker 1: I am one of your celebrity mentors, Bob Guiney and
• 0:24
Speaker 1: you know from the Bachelor of course, and my podcast
• 0:26
Speaker 1: I co host with Trista Sutter nay Wren almost famous ogs,
• 0:32
Speaker 1: the favorite one on your dial find out everywhere you
• 0:33
Speaker 1: can find a podcast. And today I am enjoyed by
• 0:36
Speaker 1: return cast that I know, I love and I know
• 0:38
Speaker 1: you know and you love from the Golden Bacherette and
• 0:40
Speaker 1: the season now of Bachelor in Paradise, which we're going
• 0:42
Speaker 1: to talk about today, my man Gary Livingston.
• 0:46
Speaker 3: Gary, Hey, what's going on? Bob?
• 0:49
Speaker 1: One of my fastest friends from this whole franchise. You
• 0:51
Speaker 1: know that real great to see you, really, Oh, I
• 0:53
  Speaker 1: love it.
• 0:53
Speaker 3: I'm humbled, I'm honored, thank you.
• 0:56
Speaker 1: You're very welcome with you now. You know, I think
• 0:58
Speaker 1: the first time we got to hand out was in
• 1:02
Speaker 1: at the golf tournament and Pubble Beach, and man, we
• 1:06
Speaker 1: just hit it off right away. You were so much fun,
• 1:08
Speaker 1: such an easy guy to talk to. I also loved
• 1:11
Speaker 1: how you sort of wrangled all the Goldens right the
• 1:15
Speaker 1: mansion men. You were you were kind of the voice
• 1:18
Speaker 1: of reason for a lot of those guys, I think,
• 1:20
Speaker 1: but also a nice sounding board, like you all get
• 1:23
Speaker 1: along so great. It really does remind me. And I
• 1:25
Speaker 1: told Joan this as well. Of course, the beautiful Joe
• 1:27
Speaker 1: and the Bats are atte, but I told the Golden Bachelorette,
• 1:30
Speaker 1: I told her that it reminded me so much of
• 1:31
Speaker 1: Trista's season. You know, Trista, I feel like, really set
• 1:34
Speaker 1: the bar so high for this whole franchise, and how
• 1:37
Speaker 1: she did it was encouraging us to be friends, like
• 1:40
Speaker 1: the guys were friends. And granted that was a lot
• 1:42
Speaker 1: of us behind the scenes too, Like I just refused,
• 1:44
Speaker 1: I can't not be friends with everyone. It breaks my
• 1:47
Speaker 1: I can't do it. And so I remember being on
• 1:49
Speaker 1: the show and thinking, you know, well, there's I'm not
• 1:51
Speaker 1: competing with these guys, like she's gonna like who she likes.
• 1:54
Speaker 1: These guys are going to be my buddies. And to
• 1:56
Speaker 1: this day, you know, I'm still great friends with Ryan.
• 1:58
Speaker 1: Of course with Charlie Maher, who was the runner up
• 2:01
Speaker 1: for just a season. All the final four guys. We're
• 2:04
Speaker 1: all good buddies, you know, but I was actually number
• 2:06
Speaker 1: five or six on that show. Jamie blythe who we've
• 2:09
Speaker 1: had on the show. I mean, just so many guys,
• 2:11
Speaker 1: and I feel like you guys kind of had that
• 2:12
Speaker 1: same type of season your your crew still gets together, I.
• 2:16
Speaker 2: Mean, it's night. Was that a conscious decision or is
• 2:18
Speaker 2: this just happened with age?
• 2:19
  Speaker 3: It just I think I don't know, I don't know
• 2:21
Speaker 3: if it's age or whatever. I think it was just
• 2:23
Speaker 3: a combination of things where we all just felt safe
• 2:28
Speaker 3: with each other because we were isolated, right, But it
• 2:32
Speaker 3: took us back to a day and time when we
• 2:34
Speaker 3: were growing up when we didn't have technology.
• 2:38
Speaker 2: Right, yeah, because you can't have fault to communicate.
• 2:40
Speaker 3: Yeah, And as a result of that, I think we
• 2:43
Speaker 3: just all felt as though once we got that first rose,
• 2:49
Speaker 3: that was the crew. Yeah.
• 2:51
Speaker 2: The mansion men men.
• 2:53
Speaker 3: Yeah, it was like the exclusive club.
• 2:57
Speaker 2: You all moved into the mansion together, all moved in together,
• 2:59
Speaker 2: and that's was like, hey, we're well you boys, right,
• 3:01
Speaker 2: We're all you got.
• 3:02
Speaker 3: That's it it was. It was. It was a big
• 3:04
Speaker 3: time romancing connection totally.
• 3:05
Speaker 1: Well you could always tell I think That's why the
• 3:07
Speaker 1: show was such a treat. I've said it often, but
• 3:10
Speaker 1: I was expecting the Bachelor franchise to kind of not
• 3:15
Speaker 1: handle that the way that they did, right.
• 3:17
Speaker 2: So my concern and I had concerns about the season
• 3:20
  Speaker 2: of Paradise.
• 3:20
Speaker 1: We're going to talk about that too, but my concern
• 3:22
Speaker 1: about the way that they were going to cast that
• 3:24
Speaker 1: show was, you know, oh, we want the drama, so
• 3:26
Speaker 1: we're going to have you know. I actually it started
• 3:29
Speaker 1: with Gary season right with so they're like the cast
• 3:33
Speaker 1: age appropriate women, just like on Jones season they cast
• 3:36
Speaker 1: age appropriate men. Yes, And I loved that because my
• 3:39
Speaker 1: fear was that they were gonna kind of do what
• 3:41
Speaker 1: Paradise is doing now right where they bring in the
• 3:43
Speaker 1: youngies and the oldies and they mix it up and
• 3:44
Speaker 1: it's like, well, what's going to happen and everyone's going
• 3:46
Speaker 1: to look weird and gross. And I think that that
• 3:48
Speaker 1: hasn't happened, which I'm excited about. But it was also
• 3:51
Speaker 1: one of those things where it would have it would
• 3:52
Speaker 1: have bred competition, it would have bred angst and tension
• 3:58
Speaker 1: that didn't need to be there. And and that's why
• 4:00
Speaker 1: I think the Golden franchise is taken off the way
• 4:02
  Speaker 1: it has.
• 4:02
Speaker 3: You know, what's an interesting points you make, because I
• 4:04
Speaker 3: don't think the executive producers anticipated what the outcome was,
• 4:11
Speaker 3: and as it was happening, they were, I think surprised
• 4:15
Speaker 3: at the twist and turn of where we took the
• 4:19
Speaker 3: show and then where they let it go as a
• 4:23
Speaker 3: result of what we brought.
• 4:25
Speaker 2: To the camaraderie was nice, yes, yes, yes, And it
• 4:28
Speaker 2: wasn't like there needed to be controversy, that we didn't
• 4:32
Speaker 2: need any angst or.
• 4:34
Speaker 3: Any any of that. Now, it was us being close,
• 4:41
Speaker 3: which made it even more special.
• 4:42
Speaker 1: So yeah, I say it was a flashback for me.
• 4:44
Speaker 1: I mean it was like watching trist a season. Trist
• 4:46
Speaker 1: and I were talking about this earlier today. Because of course,
• 4:49
Speaker 1: real quick, we are coming to you from the summerhouse
• 4:51
Speaker 1: here and like Tahoe, the VRBO summer House, So procrastinators rejoice.
• 4:56
Speaker 1: The early bird is not the only one who gets
• 4:58
Speaker 1: the worm. VRBO offers last minute deals for private vacation rentals,
• 5:00
Speaker 1: of course, and one of the things that I love.
• 5:03
Speaker 1: We are in a sweet place, the river house, it is.
• 5:07
Speaker 1: We are also in a really cool little community here
• 5:09
Speaker 1: in Lake Tahoe. And if people haven't ever been here
• 5:12
Speaker 1: to visit before. You got to make sure you'd get
• 5:14
Speaker 1: here because it is so cool. But Trista and Ryan
• 5:17
Speaker 1: are here, of course, who I still think are the
• 5:19
Speaker 1: king and Queen of the franchise, right, I think I'm like,
• 5:22
Speaker 1: I'm like the jack right, I'm like them.
• 5:28
Speaker 2: Whatever it is, the next dude, you know, just from
• 5:30
  Speaker 2: age alone.
• 5:31
Speaker 1: But but it's so nice to be here with them
• 5:33
Speaker 1: because we started this whole journey together twenty two years ago,
• 5:37
Speaker 1: and we were really great friends on Trista's season and
• 5:39
Speaker 1: so and I tried to encourage that in my season
• 5:42
Speaker 1: of The Bachelor, which came shortly thereafter, and I think
• 5:45
Speaker 1: I got us there, you know, but it was it
• 5:46
Speaker 1: was harder to do at that time because you didn't
• 5:49
Speaker 1: have the history of the show to look back on.
• 5:51
Speaker 1: And I think now watching how the Goldens handle it,
• 5:54
Speaker 1: like I said, I absolutely love that.
• 5:56
  Speaker 2: So great job.
• 5:57
Speaker 1: I think has reflected well on all of you, and
• 6:00
Speaker 1: it's why I think in large part, you guys have
• 6:03
Speaker 1: kind of continued on in that Bachelor zeitgeist. Right, you
• 6:09
Speaker 1: guys have kind of really kind of moved in and
• 6:12
Speaker 1: it's like, you know, the iHeart family loves the Goldens
• 6:14
Speaker 1: so much. I mean, we aren't doing events without a
• 6:16
Speaker 1: bunch of Goldens because we love it. I think we
• 6:18
Speaker 1: love the levity that it brings to these situations. We
• 6:21
  Speaker 1: love the fun.
• 6:23
  Speaker 2: You know.
• 6:24
Speaker 1: It's it's also fun to, you know, get a bunch
• 6:27
Speaker 1: of young people who don't know what the hell they're
• 6:28
Speaker 1: talking about to talk to and then you can kind of, you.
• 6:31
Speaker 2: Know, just make fun of them and enjoy yourself in
• 6:33
  Speaker 2: that regard.
• 6:33
Speaker 1: But I think it's more fun to have some people
• 6:36
Speaker 1: that you can connect with on a different level.
• 6:37
Speaker 2: And I really enjoy that with you guys.
• 6:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, thanks man, Yeah, it's pretty special. In fact,
• 6:43
Speaker 3: it's been a year. Yeah. And so our guys had
• 6:47
Speaker 3: an annual trip that we all put together on our
• 6:49
Speaker 3: own and all the boys went to Vegas and it
• 6:53
Speaker 3: was something this was Gonzo in Vegas, Gonzo in Vegas.
• 6:56
  Speaker 3: I wasn't there. I was there because I was on
• 6:59
Speaker 3: a whole nother trip.
• 7:00
Speaker 2: I would see Keith and Vegas would be I was on.
• 7:02
Speaker 3: A whole nother trip. But the story, you know, what
• 7:04
Speaker 3: happens in Vegas stays there.
• 7:06
Speaker 2: Of course, of course, so I would think Keith would
• 7:09
Speaker 2: need someone to rain him in like I'd almost hire
• 7:13
Speaker 2: like a rodeo clown to follow him around just to
• 7:15
Speaker 2: like keep things from going wrong, because he's a machine,
• 7:19
  Speaker 2: that good man.
• 7:20
Speaker 3: He is a seen but you know he just likes
• 7:24
Speaker 3: to have a great time. And that's the beauty of
• 7:26
Speaker 3: that that man in his personality. Man, you just you
• 7:29
Speaker 3: love having him around. Yeah, can.
• 7:31
Speaker 1: My wife loves him so much, and she's always like,
• 7:33
Speaker 1: what's it like looking at yourself in twenty years. I'm like, well,
• 7:38
Speaker 1: if Keith were seventy four, that would be great. I
• 7:41
Speaker 1: think Keith sixty, that's me in six years, and I
• 7:45
Speaker 1: love it. So all right, let's talk about this. So
• 7:47
Speaker 1: we're in Tahell right now for a pick a ball event.
• 7:49
Speaker 1: I am not a big pickleball player until today. You
• 7:55
Speaker 1: roll out with a fantastic outfit. You got your own
• 7:58
Speaker 1: pickleball paddle. You come up there.
• 8:00
Speaker 2: I mean you had gloves, you had gobbles, you had
• 8:04
Speaker 2: like a neck roll. I'm like, what's that.
• 8:06
Speaker 1: You're like, Oh, I know when I hit that ball, man,
• 8:08
Speaker 1: I'm torquing that thing.
• 8:09
Speaker 2: When I serve. I don't want my my neck to.
• 8:11
Speaker 1: Go side with you and Kelly ben Simone, who I love,
• 8:15
Speaker 1: get out, just start crushing it. I think you're a
• 8:21
Speaker 1: bronze medalist, and then you took third today.
• 8:24
Speaker 3: We came home with some iron. You came.
• 8:26
Speaker 1: Well, let's show this. This is the iron we came
• 8:29
Speaker 1: home with you. It's basically a glorified participation trophy. And
• 8:32
Speaker 1: I believe it's plastic, but you It drinks the same.
• 8:35
Speaker 2: And espresso here, but it's not going to weigh down
• 8:43
Speaker 2: your bag like the iron.
• 8:44
Speaker 1: But so I think the plastics better for us to
• 8:46
Speaker 1: get through customs and and such.
• 8:48
Speaker 2: But we're here. We're here here for the pickle ball event.
• 8:51
Speaker 1: This has been so great and I think have you
• 8:54
Speaker 1: ever thought of pickleball as a way to meet people, Like, hey,
• 8:58
Speaker 1: let's get a little thing going and little, you know,
• 9:01
Speaker 1: pinching giggle out there on the pickleball.
• 9:02
Speaker 3: Of course, it's funny you should mention that meeting people
• 9:06
Speaker 3: in Palm Desert. We play round robin Monday, Wednesday Friday
• 9:12
  Speaker 3: four hours.
• 9:13
Speaker 1: Where everyone throws in a paddle and it's like, okay,
• 9:15
Speaker 1: this is this is your paddle bill here.
• 9:17
Speaker 3: Not quite like that, but not quite like that, but
• 9:27
Speaker 3: not quite like that, not quite like that. But it's
• 9:31
Speaker 3: it's kind of cool because it is the older folks
• 9:34
Speaker 3: that are out there playing. We had some young folks
• 9:36
Speaker 3: that come in and we show them a lesson or
• 9:38
Speaker 3: two about what the game is all about. I don't
• 9:42
Speaker 3: play Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I go usually on a Wednesday.
• 9:45
Speaker 3: But it's kind of cool to go out and have
• 9:48
Speaker 3: that camaraderie with everyone. He yeah, and a connection that
• 9:51
Speaker 3: says we can still go and do.
• 9:53
Speaker 2: This right, we can still do something athletic and we're
• 9:55
  Speaker 2: having fun.
• 9:56
Speaker 1: I have to say this, so I have fun. Have
• 9:58
Speaker 1: you seen the new show Stick with Owen Wilson.
• 10:01
  Speaker 3: I have not.
• 10:01
Speaker 2: Oh my guys, anyone's seen it easton Monday. It's so good.
• 10:06
Speaker 2: So it's on HBO or no, it's on Apple TV. Okay,
• 10:09
Speaker 2: you need to watch it because it's actually it's a
• 10:10
Speaker 2: really good show and it's like.
• 10:11
Speaker 1: He's but it's not standard Owen Wilson fair right. But
• 10:15
Speaker 1: in it they have this pickleball thing that goes down.
• 10:17
Speaker 1: And I was watching it trying to prep myself for
• 10:19
Speaker 1: this weekend because there's not many things out there that
• 10:21
Speaker 1: you can find that will allow you to prep for
• 10:23
Speaker 1: pickleball competitions, you know, Canyon, and I decided, I'm like,
• 10:27
Speaker 1: let's get a couple of fights for no reason.
• 10:29
Speaker 2: That's like I'm gonna yell at you. You yell at me,
• 10:30
Speaker 2: I'm like, you shout at it.
• 10:31
  Speaker 1: She's like I'm a left day. I'm like, okay, let's
• 10:33
Speaker 1: just let's just fake some fights so we're ready for
• 10:35
Speaker 1: the court. Because but she's really good and she's very
• 10:37
Speaker 1: aggressive as a lefty.
• 10:38
Speaker 3: You know what, The ball takes a whole another, a
• 10:41
Speaker 3: different flight, different flights as we were trying to play
• 10:43
Speaker 3: that that's why you Yes, that's how we shut you down.
• 10:45
Speaker 1: That's how the only way to shut you down. Having
• 10:47
Speaker 1: Gary out there, he really did. Gary was scary on
• 10:49
Speaker 1: the court. But yeah, no, it was very fun. But
• 10:51
Speaker 1: I think pickleball could be a really cool way. Like
• 10:54
Speaker 1: if you meet someone and you know that they're you know,
• 10:58
Speaker 1: uh fit, Yes, right, but they don't have to be
• 11:01
Speaker 1: that fit. I mean, I'm out of shape. I was
• 11:03
Speaker 1: out there running around like a crazy person.
• 11:04
Speaker 3: The beauty is that the court's smaller than a tennis court. Yeah,
• 11:08
Speaker 3: you're playing with four people on the court. It's a
• 11:10
Speaker 3: whiffle ball. It's not really like anything that's come out
• 11:14
Speaker 3: it with too much heat. Yeah.
• 11:15
Speaker 1: No, And so though Trista did Jack went into canyon today,
• 11:18
Speaker 1: which I thought was really.
• 11:19
Speaker 3: You can't get some heat on the ball.
• 11:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, that was pretty nice. Definitely, Trista knew what she
• 11:22
Speaker 2: was doing when she wanted the stageous event. Little did
• 11:25
Speaker 2: we know she did played the game a lot.
• 11:27
  Speaker 3: She was unbelievable.
• 11:28
Speaker 2: You think she hustled us.
• 11:29
Speaker 3: I think she may have been like a shark guy.
• 11:31
Speaker 2: She knew there was an iron a some trophy on
• 11:34
  Speaker 2: the place.
• 11:34
Speaker 3: There was a big trophy on the line. Yeah, and
• 11:36
Speaker 3: she took it home.
• 11:37
Speaker 1: Well, I will say that spoiler alert. Gary and Kelly
• 11:41
Speaker 1: came in third. Yes, the Guinea family came in second. Yes,
• 11:46
Speaker 1: and Trista and Ryan Sutter nay Wren ended up bringing
• 11:50
  Speaker 1: home the bacon.
• 11:51
Speaker 2: And uh, I don't know. I'm just gonna say it
• 11:53
  Speaker 2: out loud.
• 11:54
Speaker 1: Uh If I put together a blackjack tournament for the
• 11:58
Speaker 1: next one and I win the black jack tournament, shame
• 12:00
Speaker 1: on me. Okay, I'm just saying I think Trista stacked
• 12:03
Speaker 1: the deck in her favor. She knew She's the only
• 12:04
Speaker 1: one that knew the roles.
• 12:05
Speaker 2: We're in the middle of playing.
• 12:07
Speaker 1: It's three three, and she's like, guys, are stef Yi,
• 12:09
Speaker 1: and I love Tristan more than the life, so I
• 12:11
Speaker 1: mean this is coming from a place of love.
• 12:14
  Speaker 2: That's the kitchen.
• 12:15
Speaker 1: Okay, you don't go in the kitchen. You can't step
• 12:16
Speaker 1: in the kitchen, but don't hit hit the ball into
• 12:18
Speaker 1: the kitchen. You've done it twice and I've let it go.
• 12:20
Speaker 1: So I'm just going to tell you for the next time,
• 12:21
Speaker 1: I might have to score that against you. All of
• 12:24
Speaker 1: a sudden, she's in my head.
• 12:25
  Speaker 3: Man.
• 12:25
  Speaker 1: Now I don't even know what I'm doing. I'm like,
• 12:26
Speaker 1: why the hell is the kitchen now? I got to
• 12:28
  Speaker 1: identify a kitchen. I don't see a stove. I don't
• 12:30
Speaker 1: see a refrigerator. Okay, so let's talk about Bachelor in Paradise,
• 12:33
Speaker 1: because here was my concern about this, Okay. I was
• 12:37
Speaker 1: terrified that my goldens were going to be used by
• 12:41
Speaker 1: producers for horrible, horrible mischief. And I was like, this
• 12:45
Speaker 1: is not right. I don't think I like this idea. Actually,
• 12:48
Speaker 1: at first I love the idea until someone brought it
• 12:49
Speaker 1: up to me. Then it was in my head like
• 12:50
Speaker 1: a crazy man. First call, I made Gonzo Gonzo, don't
• 12:54
Speaker 1: take de bait. I don't care what anybody says, if
• 12:56
Speaker 1: they're like, hey, you should go over and talk to
• 12:57
Speaker 1: a little Debbie over there in the corner while she's
• 12:59
Speaker 1: crying in the hot stuff, don't do it. Don't take
• 13:02
Speaker 1: her a cocktail and be like, how you doing, little Debbie.
• 13:04
Speaker 2: Let's not do that.
• 13:05
Speaker 1: Needless to say, I didn't have to worry about that,
• 13:07
Speaker 1: right because my guys handled themselves. But I think it's
• 13:10
Speaker 1: been pretty interesting on this season of Paradise.
• 13:12
Speaker 2: It's the very first season.
• 13:14
Speaker 1: Well, there's a lot of first's actually, whole new production,
• 13:17
Speaker 1: whole new look. It kind of looks a lot of
• 13:19
Speaker 1: people have been saying a lot more like love ya.
• 13:21
Speaker 2: Producers, whole things, different tones, different attitudes, different.
• 13:27
Speaker 3: Cinematography, the cameras they're using.
• 13:29
Speaker 2: Yes, kind of neat, fabulous.
• 13:31
Speaker 1: Wells and Hannah are playing a bigger role in the show,
• 13:34
Speaker 1: which Hannah I haven't seen her say too much yet.
• 13:36
Speaker 1: The handa is I'm sure going to have a bigger
• 13:38
Speaker 1: role as this thing goes on. Yes, But I think
• 13:41
Speaker 1: it's kind of neat because when they came to you
• 13:43
Speaker 1: and said, you know, hey, would you be interested in
• 13:46
Speaker 1: coming to Paris? Did they mention that it was going
• 13:48
Speaker 1: to be like the standard paradise with the Goldens or
• 13:53
Speaker 1: when they approached you, what did they disclose to you?
• 13:56
Speaker 3: So it was disclosed that we'd like you to join
• 13:59
Speaker 3: us in Costa Rica going paradise, because well, I don't
• 14:03
Speaker 3: even think we knew it was going to be in
• 14:05
Speaker 3: Coastrie at that point.
• 14:06
Speaker 2: And did you know other Goldens were coming or did
• 14:08
  Speaker 2: you think.
• 14:09
Speaker 3: I No one had been announced. Yeah, and they didn't
• 14:14
Speaker 3: allow Leslie or I to know even if they had
• 14:16
Speaker 3: someone in mind. But then the guy started talking and
• 14:21
Speaker 3: we ultimately said, hey, what do you think I'm thinking
• 14:25
Speaker 3: about this? I'm thinking about what and so we started talking. Yeah,
• 14:30
Speaker 3: and then ultimately well you can see now on the
• 14:33
Speaker 3: show who's come. Yeah, but it was it was a surprise,
• 14:38
Speaker 3: I think to all of us said it was going
• 14:39
Speaker 3: to be like it is.
• 14:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, well let's let's for anyone who might be
• 14:45
Speaker 1: like me. I've I've sort of stacked the deck. I've
• 14:47
Speaker 1: watched the first episode, the first two episodes, now I have
• 14:49
Speaker 1: not I have not watched a second too. So the
• 14:51
Speaker 1: Goldens arrive in episode four and Gary arrives on his
• 14:57
Speaker 1: own with a little bit more like it was almost
• 15:00
Speaker 1: like a big time wrestling entrance, like smoke, like all
• 15:03
Speaker 1: sorts of stuff going on, Like you had the theme song?
• 15:05
Speaker 1: What was your walk up song? And you come out
• 15:07
Speaker 1: of nowhere? Well, the other goals are already there and
• 15:09
Speaker 1: all of a sudden you come out. How is that
• 15:11
  Speaker 1: suggested to you?
• 15:12
Speaker 2: And how did that the whole thing play out?
• 15:14
Speaker 3: Well? Okay, So I came a day after everyone else
• 15:20
Speaker 3: and I was still in seclusion. Yeah, so I was
• 15:22
Speaker 3: going crazy. It's like, guys, you got to get me
• 15:24
Speaker 3: out of here. Yeah. Everyone knows I'm going to be
• 15:26
Speaker 3: on the show, right, but you can't keep me secluded
• 15:30
Speaker 3: like this? So is it okay? If I go to
• 15:32
  Speaker 3: the pool?
• 15:33
Speaker 2: Is fomo? Are you getting? Like? But like, what do
• 15:36
Speaker 2: you feel? Are you feeling left out?
• 15:37
Speaker 3: I feel like I'm starting to feel like things are
• 15:40
Speaker 3: happening and I'm not there to enjoy it.
• 15:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, And so were nervous at all.
• 15:45
Speaker 3: I was starting to get a little anxious, not nervous,
• 15:49
Speaker 3: just with like not knowing what to expect, right, because
• 15:53
Speaker 3: my guys were already.
• 15:54
Speaker 2: There, right, and you knew they were already there.
• 15:57
Speaker 3: So they were there and they knew I was. We
• 16:01
Speaker 3: just didn't know how it was gonna unfold. But then
• 16:05
Speaker 3: when they said, we were making this big thing for
• 16:08
Speaker 3: your entrance, Gary, and so then I started saying, okay,
• 16:11
Speaker 3: now let's hear it, let me hear it. And then
• 16:15
Speaker 3: they started explaining to me what it was going to be,
• 16:17
Speaker 3: and I go, I can do that, Yeah, I can.
• 16:20
Speaker 3: I think that's gonna be pretty awesome.
• 16:22
  Speaker 2: That's awesome.
• 16:23
Speaker 3: And sure enough, you saw the entrance.
• 16:24
Speaker 2: I have only seen the engines. I haven't seen the episode.
• 16:27
  Speaker 3: Okay, you've got you've got something I can't tell you,
• 16:30
Speaker 3: but it's worth its weight in gold. That's you'll see, Bob, you'll.
• 16:34
Speaker 1: It's so fun because you guys are so tight, right,
• 16:37
Speaker 1: and it's like, did you did you experience? Obviously you
• 16:40
Speaker 1: come in, you got your friends that the Goldens who
• 16:42
  Speaker 1: you've been doing a.
• 16:43
Speaker 2: Bunch of stuff with.
• 16:44
Speaker 1: Yeah, probably have met so I know you have met
• 16:46
Speaker 1: some of the younger cast members on there, yes, and
• 16:50
Speaker 1: uh so you got the familiarity with them, But who
• 16:53
Speaker 1: did you create relationships with right away that were kind
• 16:58
Speaker 1: of like, uh, you know, from from the the more
• 17:00
Speaker 1: standard VIP experience, Like who did you kind of gravitate towards?
• 17:04
Speaker 1: Was there anyone there that you felt like, Okay, I
• 17:05
Speaker 1: like this person. I can be friends with this person, Jonathan. Yeah,
• 17:09
Speaker 1: I had a feeling, you guys, and but Jonathan has
• 17:13
Speaker 1: been on a couple of these experiences with us.
• 17:15
Speaker 2: But you haven't met him, have you.
• 17:16
Speaker 3: I met Jonathan at a get Reel, the get Real
• 17:20
Speaker 3: party that Hulu did when they announced mel with the
• 17:23
Speaker 3: Golden Bachelor, and I think I had met him once before.
• 17:29
Speaker 3: I can't really remember, but you know, he's a super guy. Yeah,
• 17:33
Speaker 3: and uh so him and I were already connected. Also
• 17:38
Speaker 3: Hakeem yep, but by the time I got there, Kem
• 17:43
Speaker 3: was gone, right, So it was really Jonathan and then
• 17:47
Speaker 3: my other Golden guys. That was it.
• 17:49
Speaker 2: Well, Jonathan seemed to warm up to a couple of Goldens,
• 17:51
  Speaker 2: didn't he.
• 17:52
Speaker 3: Yes, he did. But I have to throw in Dale
• 17:56
Speaker 3: Andrew was another good guy, Spencer as well.
• 18:01
Speaker 2: Spencer seemed intense to me up until like he seems
• 18:03
Speaker 2: like an intense dude.
• 18:04
Speaker 3: He really was a very gentle, giant guy. Yeah.
• 18:11
Speaker 1: So, what were your thoughts on the April Jonathan moment,
• 18:19
  Speaker 1: Because I had.
• 18:19
Speaker 2: Heard some rumors, but that was a little fiery.
• 18:23
Speaker 3: It was not just fiery, it was a total shock
• 18:29
Speaker 3: that took everyone by surprise. I don't think anybody knew
• 18:34
Speaker 3: April was going to do that, and in particular my
• 18:38
Speaker 3: good buddy Jack. It's a beautiful thing.
• 18:41
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 18:41
Speaker 3: Yeah, he was so floored because he thought that there
• 18:47
Speaker 3: was a connection there. Yeah. But yeah, that was a
• 18:52
Speaker 3: real shock or it came out of nowhere. She handled
• 18:56
Speaker 3: it well, she said some amazing things about Jonathan, but
• 19:00
Speaker 3: it completely threw off the numbers.
• 19:03
Speaker 2: I was gonna say. Yeah, it basically eliminated three three
• 19:06
Speaker 2: golden goldens, which left six women and three men. Yeah,
• 19:12
Speaker 2: and so it was yeah, it was that was that
• 19:17
  Speaker 2: was a shocker.
• 19:17
Speaker 1: That was like, I don't think it didn't seem like
• 19:20
Speaker 1: the producers or anybody was ready for that.
• 19:21
Speaker 2: Nobody. Jesse stood there with his mouth over, did you really?
• 19:25
Speaker 2: Just almost seems stage? But you know what I knew
• 19:28
  Speaker 2: it wasn't.
• 19:29
Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a shocker man.
• 19:30
Speaker 1: All Right, Well, thank you so much for talking to
• 19:32
Speaker 1: us about that, because I love it.
• 19:33
Speaker 2: I think very excited. I know, I know people are
• 19:36
Speaker 2: loving the show this year, people are loving VIP and
• 19:38
Speaker 2: I think I really liked oh what's oh my gosh,
• 19:42
Speaker 2: the VIP VIP hat she had on out there, Leslie.
• 19:45
Speaker 2: I loved your hat. Yeah, yes, yeah, that was pretty good.
• 19:47
Speaker 2: She's a pretty good pickupball player too, all right, and
• 19:50
Speaker 2: a great dancer? Is that right?
• 19:52
  Speaker 3: Keep watching?
• 19:54
Speaker 2: Watch and the two of you had a chance to
• 19:56
  Speaker 2: love the dance.
• 19:56
Speaker 1: Okay, I will watch, I will watch. I take your
• 19:58
Speaker 1: advice seriously, my friend. All right, so I want to
• 20:01
  Speaker 1: go to Well, there's not much that doesn't I don't
• 20:05
Speaker 1: know if you know, it takes a lot to piss
• 20:07
Speaker 1: me off. My luggage is pissing me off. Still not here,
• 20:10
Speaker 1: by the way, thanks Delta if you're watching it home.
• 20:23
Speaker 1: So let's talk twenty one questions. Okay, we're gonna play
• 20:27
  Speaker 1: a little game. It's called twenty one questions. It's I
• 20:29
Speaker 1: Do Part two. That's what the show is about.
• 20:32
Speaker 2: You and I have both had relationships prior to.
• 20:35
Speaker 1: Any that we may have currently. Yes, do you want
• 20:39
Speaker 1: to talk about any that you have currently? Anything you
• 20:41
  Speaker 1: want to share?
• 20:43
Speaker 2: I mean, everybody knows I got Canyon, right, so I
• 20:45
Speaker 2: got nothing to share.
• 20:46
Speaker 3: Maybe let's just let's see where that goes. Let's we're going.
• 20:52
Speaker 2: Breaking news that I Do Part two. All Right, here
• 20:54
Speaker 2: we go. I'm gonna ask you some questions. I want
• 20:57
Speaker 2: your opinions. I may or may not time in because
• 21:01
Speaker 2: I want to keep this on point for I do
• 21:04
Speaker 2: part two because that is my job is to steer
• 21:06
Speaker 2: this ship to the exact location we needed today.
• 21:10
  Speaker 3: Take us home.
• 21:10
Speaker 2: Here we go, baby number one. Okay, if you ask
• 21:13
Speaker 2: a woman on a date, first date, is it ever
• 21:19
Speaker 2: acceptable to split the bill?
• 21:20
  Speaker 3: No?
• 21:21
  Speaker 2: Agreed?
• 21:23
Speaker 1: If a woman asks you on a first date, is
• 21:26
Speaker 1: it ever okay to allow her to pay?
• 21:29
  Speaker 3: Absolutely?
• 21:30
Speaker 2: I think you're absolutely right on that.
• 21:32
Speaker 1: I think I would still fight to act. Yeah, but
• 21:36
Speaker 1: she asked me, Yeah, I would. I let kingyon.
• 21:39
Speaker 2: Uh. We were when we were dating.
• 21:41
Speaker 1: She asked me on a date, which I was like,
• 21:43
Speaker 1: really okay, and she paid for the whole thing, and
• 21:45
Speaker 1: I was like feeling guilt the whole night, but it
• 21:48
Speaker 1: was it was kind of awesome. I was I'm always
• 21:51
Speaker 1: the person that pays. Yeah, you know, like she'llowed me
• 21:53
Speaker 1: to say, like someone, go.
• 21:54
Speaker 2: Do you where's your wallet? She goes, She'll go, he's
• 21:56
Speaker 2: over there, and she'll play. You know.
• 21:57
Speaker 3: It's an interesting point though, because we as men men, yes,
• 22:02
Speaker 3: and our era of where we always take care of things,
• 22:09
Speaker 3: so it's flattering when someone else does it. It's surprising,
• 22:14
Speaker 3: and it's also a sign of Wow, this could go someplace. Yeah,
• 22:18
Speaker 3: it's not always dependent on me. This person is making
• 22:22
Speaker 3: an effort to show me that I'm you don't always
• 22:26
Speaker 3: have to do this.
• 22:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, so you know it's so interesting. For some reason,
• 22:29
Speaker 1: when you were saying that, it triggered something for me.
• 22:32
Speaker 1: One of the things I always think is interesting is
• 22:34
  Speaker 1: I think I'm doing a favor when.
• 22:37
Speaker 2: Someone says, what do you want to do tonight, and
• 22:38
Speaker 2: I'll say, whatever you want to do? Where would you
• 22:40
Speaker 2: like to go to for a dinner? Wherever you want
• 22:42
Speaker 2: to go. I don't know why.
• 22:44
Speaker 1: I think I'm being easy, right, but how flattering it
• 22:47
Speaker 1: is when someone will say, hey, tonight, we're gonna go
• 22:48
Speaker 1: to Mexican because I know that's your favorite, and then
• 22:51
Speaker 1: afterwards we're gonna go play pickleball or go through some
• 22:54
Speaker 1: darts or whatever. And you're like, okay, because it's so
• 22:57
Speaker 1: neat to not have to think of what do and
• 23:00
Speaker 1: it's it's really fun to have someone planned for you.
• 23:02
  Speaker 1: Yet and I and I've realized that maybe that's a
• 23:04
Speaker 1: shortcoming for me. I don't know why this just triggered
• 23:07
Speaker 1: that way, but I need.
• 23:07
Speaker 2: To plant let it go. Should I let it go
• 23:10
Speaker 2: let it go now? Yes, okay. Number two.
• 23:14
Speaker 1: If a man does not finalize date plans or checking
• 23:16
Speaker 1: ahead of a scheduled date the morning of, does this
• 23:19
Speaker 1: mean he's busy or that he's not interested.
• 23:22
  Speaker 3: Oh that's a tough one.
• 23:24
Speaker 2: So let's set the stage.
• 23:25
Speaker 1: You got a date set up and tonight you're gonna
• 23:28
Speaker 1: pick her up at five, but you don't call all day,
• 23:32
Speaker 1: you don't reach out, You're just like, hey, I'm picking
• 23:34
Speaker 1: her up Thursday at five. Does that mean is she
• 23:36
Speaker 1: supposed to think you're coming at five? Or is she
• 23:39
Speaker 1: supposed to think this dude is ghosting me?
• 23:42
Speaker 3: You know, if there is an interest in that relationship,
• 23:50
Speaker 3: if you're trying to make it happen, you're gonna call before. Yeah,
• 23:54
Speaker 3: you're gonna call before. If you don't, then.
• 23:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's just and you're like, go, I'll do
• 24:00
Speaker 2: it be there right.
• 24:01
Speaker 3: Well, then, I mean it's someone that's not important to you.
• 24:05
Speaker 3: Out of respect, here's what's happening looking forward to Yeah, totally, totally,
• 24:11
Speaker 3: with all due respect.
• 24:12
Speaker 2: I totally agree with you. Yeah, yeah, all right.
• 24:14
Speaker 1: How long should you be dating someone? To bring up
• 24:16
Speaker 1: the topic of money, debt or credit scores?
• 24:24
Speaker 3: I would think maybe if it's a serious relationship, it
• 24:28
Speaker 3: should happen within the first couple three months.
• 24:31
Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, and to what level does that go? Because
• 24:34
Speaker 1: I have a funny story to share about this.
• 24:36
Speaker 3: And the level you know, you got to fill that
• 24:39
Speaker 3: one out because at my age, yeah, you don't have
• 24:43
Speaker 3: a lot of time to say, I'm gonna let this
• 24:46
Speaker 3: play out. You want to know sooner than later. So
• 24:50
Speaker 3: it just it just depends. Oh my gosh, that's a
• 24:54
Speaker 3: great question. That's a great question.
• 24:56
Speaker 1: When I was working on these questions, I was laughing
• 25:01
Speaker 1: over that when I was really brainstorming about these questions,
• 25:04
Speaker 1: and I thought, what can I ask her? When I
• 25:07
Speaker 1: thought of this one, I really knew I had a winner.
• 25:09
Speaker 1: So here's thank you, Heather for these wonderful questions. The
• 25:12
Speaker 1: best producer in the business that question. So I will
• 25:16
Speaker 1: tell you. So when Canyon and I got married, Yeah,
• 25:19
Speaker 1: it was. It was one of her family's favorite things
• 25:20
Speaker 1: I did. They show up and they're like, hey, we're
• 25:22
Speaker 1: going to be here for the weekend or whatever, and
• 25:24
Speaker 1: her mom's like, well, I got a few things for you.
• 25:26
Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, what do you got? Well, here is
• 25:29
Speaker 2: Jessica's cell phone, Bill. Here is Jessica's triple A card.
• 25:35
Speaker 2: Here is Jessica, and she's giving me like twenty I'm like,
• 25:37
Speaker 2: what in the world now?
• 25:38
Speaker 1: None of them were hefty tabs by any means, but
• 25:41
Speaker 1: it was comical. She's like, she's your problem now, and
• 25:44
Speaker 1: it was very funny like it was. It was a
• 25:45
Speaker 1: tongue in cheek because you know, one thing about Canyon
• 25:48
Speaker 1: I love is, you know, since we've had children, she's
• 25:50
Speaker 1: to stay at home mom, but she's always been such
• 25:52
Speaker 1: an earner, right, and she's she's out there busting her button.
• 25:55
Speaker 1: And I love that she had her own career and
• 25:57
Speaker 1: her own design on things, and and I really.
• 26:00
Speaker 2: Love that about her. And I also love that she's
• 26:03
Speaker 2: been willing to kind of take a back seat to
• 26:06
Speaker 2: help raise our family. But I know how excited she
• 26:10
Speaker 2: has to get back out there, right, and it's and
• 26:11
  Speaker 2: exciting for her.
• 26:12
Speaker 3: So I get to tell you, yeah, that's a blessing,
• 26:15
Speaker 3: oh big time. You understand that, a big time. It's
• 26:19
  Speaker 3: a rarity. Yeah that's a gym, not even a diamond
• 26:24
  Speaker 3: of the rough.
• 26:25
Speaker 2: That is, it's the next level stuff. But what's funny
• 26:28
  Speaker 2: is I didn't even I didn't ask that I was like, well,
• 26:31
Speaker 2: you we can get it. Like we tried to get
• 26:33
  Speaker 2: a nanny and a parrot.
• 26:34
Speaker 1: We tried to do everything, and it was one of
• 26:37
Speaker 1: those things where it was like, this was something that
• 26:38
Speaker 1: was important to her and I and I really value
• 26:40
Speaker 1: that and respect that.
• 26:41
Speaker 2: But yeah, I think I think you're right.
• 26:43
Speaker 1: I think there if the things are starting to feel serious,
• 26:46
Speaker 1: you got to kind of figure that out early and
• 26:49
Speaker 1: then and then to follow up on that. And when
• 26:51
Speaker 1: I was really grinding on these questions, this is one
• 26:53
Speaker 1: that really stuck out with me. If someone does have
• 26:56
Speaker 1: a lot of debt, is that a red flag? Right,
• 26:59
  Speaker 1: that's a red Flagg's a red flag.
• 27:02
Speaker 2: Is what you're gonna do?
• 27:02
Speaker 3: But you know what's interesting.
• 27:05
Speaker 1: If you, well, circumstances might dictate that, right, someone who
• 27:10
Speaker 1: put themselves through school, somebody did a whole bunch of
• 27:12
Speaker 1: stuff that kind of debt. You're like, well, good for you, Yeah,
• 27:15
Speaker 1: credit card debt or or or things that they just
• 27:17
Speaker 1: aren't paying on. Then you're like, what's up with this person?
• 27:19
  Speaker 3: That's yeah, that's not right.
• 27:22
Speaker 2: No, I agree, So.
• 27:22
  Speaker 3: It just depends.
• 27:23
Speaker 1: And again you and I both being having been through
• 27:26
Speaker 1: a marriage previously, and now you know you're at a
• 27:28
Speaker 1: different stage in your life at this point. You're like,
• 27:30
Speaker 1: I don't know what I want to take on. Do
• 27:32
Speaker 1: I want to take on someone else's baggage from the
• 27:34
Speaker 1: standpoint of years and years of credit card abuse and
• 27:39
  Speaker 1: things like that?
• 27:39
Speaker 2: And I don't know if that's the right term, but
• 27:41
Speaker 2: you know it is.
• 27:41
  Speaker 3: I mean, and that's a that's a real thing. It's
• 27:43
Speaker 3: a real thing. And so you know, is it a
• 27:46
Speaker 3: red flag or is it a yellow flag? Caution? How
• 27:49
Speaker 3: much do I really like the character of this person?
• 27:52
Speaker 3: How much we really genuinely equally yoked, how much are
• 27:55
Speaker 3: we really genuinely in love with each other? And the
• 27:59
Speaker 3: whole thing that comes with she's showing me what I need.
• 28:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, well, and that's a vulnerability too, right, if someone's
• 28:06
Speaker 1: willing to share with you. Hey man, I had some
• 28:08
Speaker 1: issues for a couple of years financially, but I'm handling it,
• 28:12
  Speaker 1: I think.
• 28:12
  Speaker 2: I think.
• 28:13
Speaker 1: Then you're like, that wouldn't be a red flag to me,
• 28:15
Speaker 1: that would be something I think that would be almost
• 28:16
Speaker 1: like a show of character. Yes, Like everyone goes through
• 28:20
Speaker 1: tough times, and how you rebound and how you how
• 28:23
Speaker 1: you handle those situations, I think shows who you are.
• 28:25
Speaker 3: It's it's part of your testimony, it's part of your history,
• 28:28
Speaker 3: it's part of what got you to be where you're at. Yeah, totally.
• 28:31
Speaker 3: But if you can be honest and upright, up up
• 28:34
Speaker 3: front and forthright, that says something. Also, Yeah, I'm great.
• 28:38
Speaker 3: I don't want to hide this from you. I'm just
• 28:40
Speaker 3: going to I gotta let you know about this.
• 28:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, this is something I think is interesting. All right,
• 28:47
Speaker 1: if you're dating someone for let's say six months, okay,
• 28:50
Speaker 1: excuse me, and their children don't get along with you,
• 28:54
Speaker 1: and the children are older, right, you're.
• 28:57
Speaker 2: Not my dad. That kind of stuff, right, I mean
• 28:59
Speaker 2: you see in movies all the time.
• 29:00
  Speaker 3: Run Yeah.
• 29:01
Speaker 2: Okay. So the rest of this question.
• 29:03
Speaker 1: Is how is there a sign of relationship won't work
• 29:07
Speaker 1: out long term? I think absolutely that's not gonna work. Yeah,
• 29:11
Speaker 1: because no one is going to choose. No one's gonna choose.
• 29:14
Speaker 1: I mean, family is always a big part.
• 29:15
Speaker 2: Of every relationship. Yeah, no one's gonna well, well, no
• 29:21
Speaker 2: one who you want to be with is gonna let
• 29:24
Speaker 2: their son go and be like, no, I want to
• 29:26
Speaker 2: be with you, because I'd be like, what the hell
• 29:28
Speaker 2: does that say about you?
• 29:29
  Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, exactly.
• 29:30
Speaker 1: I had I had a situation at one point where
• 29:32
Speaker 1: a woman that I knew was upset about a guy
• 29:36
Speaker 1: that she was dating because he always put his kids
• 29:39
Speaker 1: from his previous marriage first. And I remember saying, I
• 29:43
Speaker 1: was like, do me a favor. Don't ever say that
• 29:46
Speaker 1: to anyone ever again.
• 29:47
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 29:47
Speaker 2: She's like going, man like, that's what a man is
• 29:49
Speaker 2: supposed to do. So you found a guy in Hollywood
• 29:53
Speaker 2: of all places who's going to put his family first.
• 29:56
Speaker 2: Celebrate that man, because most do. It'll be like, oh
• 30:01
Speaker 2: you know I yeah, yeah, I'll handcele plans with my kids.
• 30:06
Speaker 2: Hell no, man, I would never do it. I'd just
• 30:08
Speaker 2: be like, no, I have already got plans. If that
• 30:10
Speaker 2: doesn't work for you, then we just don't work.
• 30:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. You know I couldn't agree with you. More family,
• 30:16
Speaker 3: especially your children, that's our future. It's just a matter
• 30:21
Speaker 3: of time before they grow up and grow out and
• 30:23
Speaker 3: get away. So you know, invest in that in those
• 30:29
Speaker 3: boys and girls, because ultimately that's what's going to come
• 30:33
Speaker 3: back and take care of you later in life. Yeah.
• 30:35
Speaker 2: I means so true.
• 30:36
  Speaker 3: Right.
• 30:37
Speaker 2: Do you think people can have different religious beliefs and
• 30:39
Speaker 2: have a successful relationship.
• 30:40
Speaker 3: I do. I do. It's you know, are they equally
• 30:47
Speaker 3: yoked yet? Do they both believe in a God? Yes,
• 30:52
Speaker 3: it's not the same, right, but I think it's possible. Sure,
• 30:58
  Speaker 3: I think it's possible.
• 30:59
  Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I dated someone I'm I don't know
• 31:02
Speaker 1: what I am, to be honest. I think I was
• 31:05
Speaker 1: raised Methodist or Baptist, but I think I'm Protestant, right, Yes,
• 31:09
Speaker 1: And I dated someone who was Jewish, yes, for a
• 31:11
  Speaker 1: very long time.
• 31:11
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 31:12
Speaker 1: And I loved being a part of her cultures and
• 31:16
Speaker 1: her experiences and her religious traditions that I had no
• 31:19
  Speaker 1: clue of.
• 31:20
Speaker 3: Old Testament New Testament.
• 31:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, yeah, there you go, right, it's yeah, and
• 31:25
Speaker 1: the New Testament is much more open.
• 31:29
Speaker 2: Yes, right, yes, but yeah, I enjoyed, I actually enjoyed
• 31:32
Speaker 2: having the different cultural experiences and the different religious experiences,
• 31:36
Speaker 2: and I learned a lot from that, you know.
• 31:37
Speaker 1: And it was a fun relationship. Yeah, and yeah, so
• 31:40
Speaker 1: that was kind of neat. So I am someone who
• 31:42
Speaker 1: believes that can work.
• 31:44
Speaker 3: You just have to pour into each other. Yeah, that's all.
• 31:48
Speaker 2: So we're at number ten, are you ready?
• 31:49
Speaker 1: Okay, what's a small thing people tend to overlook, but
• 31:53
Speaker 1: in reality, is a huge sign a relationship isn't good.
• 31:58
Speaker 3: It's a huge but a huge sign to small.
• 32:00
Speaker 1: Thing people tend to overlook, but in reality, is a
• 32:04
Speaker 1: huge sign a relationship isn't good.
• 32:08
  Speaker 3: What are you?
• 32:09
Speaker 2: This is like that's you don't understand? How many years
• 32:12
Speaker 2: are scrolling? I went to these questions. I think it's important.
• 32:18
Speaker 3: And here's a small thing that could be a big thing,
• 32:21
Speaker 3: public displays of affection. Someone that doesn't like public displays
• 32:28
Speaker 3: of affection. But your love language is touchy and you
• 32:35
Speaker 3: like holding hands and the person doesn't realize the impact
• 32:40
Speaker 3: that that has on your emotional state. That could lead
• 32:46
Speaker 3: to you not liking that person anymore, because it's almost
• 32:50
Speaker 3: as if they don't want anyone to know that you're together. Yeah,
• 32:55
Speaker 3: if you're dating, Yeah, that's not a good sign.
• 32:58
  Speaker 2: That's true.
• 32:59
Speaker 3: And I guess so. I think public displays of affection
• 33:02
Speaker 3: are important. That you can't be afraid of to kiss
• 33:07
Speaker 3: someone in front of other people if you really care
• 33:10
Speaker 3: about the person. Holding hands is another big one. Hugging
• 33:14
Speaker 3: is another big one. So I think that's huge.
• 33:19
Speaker 1: Sure, because you seem like an affectionate guy, I would
• 33:22
Speaker 1: guess you're an affectionate guy. I am, I am so,
• 33:24
Speaker 1: I'm an affectionate guy too, and I'm married to someone
• 33:26
Speaker 1: who's not as affectionate as me. Right, And it's kind
• 33:29
Speaker 1: of funny because her idea of like cuddling at night
• 33:31
Speaker 1: will show go, She'll put her leg on me, go
• 33:33
Speaker 1: there we're cuddling. It's funny, right, But but I actually
• 33:37
Speaker 1: kind of love our differences in that regard because when
• 33:40
Speaker 1: I actually can crack the code and get her to
• 33:42
Speaker 1: actually the affectionate with me, I'm like, yeah, I want.
• 33:45
Speaker 3: It's a good fun thing. Yeah.
• 33:48
Speaker 2: Yeah, what I'm saying, I tell you, you know, it's a
• 33:51
  Speaker 2: small thing, but it's a big it's a big yeah.
• 33:54
Speaker 2: Its so you got to know when to like from
• 33:57
Speaker 2: from her perspective. I always I will always say this.
• 33:59
Speaker 1: I'll be like, hey, man, once in a while, you
• 34:01
Speaker 1: need to actually show me some show show me some love.
• 34:04
  Speaker 3: All right.
• 34:05
Speaker 1: What's one thing you think men at fifty plus, which
• 34:08
Speaker 1: we both are, need to lighten up on when it
• 34:11
Speaker 1: comes to dating. So, what's when you're talking to your buddies,
• 34:15
Speaker 1: you're talking to the mansion men, you're talking to the
• 34:16
Speaker 1: crew that you know, your buddies from home, and they're like,
• 34:20
Speaker 1: this is this is a deal breaker for me right,
• 34:23
Speaker 1: and you're like, man, that just seems why is that
• 34:25
Speaker 1: a deal breaker? What do you hear from your friends
• 34:28
Speaker 1: and from your from your boys that that you think
• 34:30
Speaker 1: is a little ridiculous.
• 34:33
Speaker 3: Just realizing that you're not gonna win every battle. Yeah,
• 34:38
Speaker 3: and some things you just have to let go of.
• 34:42
Speaker 3: I don't care how big or how small it is.
• 34:45
Speaker 3: Just let them have some victories. Yeah, it doesn't matter
• 34:49
  Speaker 3: what it.
• 34:50
Speaker 1: Is, because we get so stubborn at a certain like
• 34:52
Speaker 1: we I've been on my own for.
• 34:56
Speaker 2: Tell me where to park.
• 34:57
Speaker 3: And it's not speaking from experience either.
• 35:01
Speaker 2: I have my favorite things. A kid, I'll go. You know,
• 35:03
Speaker 2: it's so weird. Before I met you, I was single
• 35:06
  Speaker 2: for twelve years.
• 35:07
  Speaker 3: Do you know?
• 35:07
Speaker 1: I knew how to park every car and no one
• 35:11
Speaker 1: was scared when someone hit the brakes six hundred yards
• 35:15
  Speaker 1: ahead of me.
• 35:20
Speaker 2: And I love this woman, but oh my god, Am
• 35:25
  Speaker 2: I right?
• 35:25
Speaker 3: I know the feeling totally yet it so yeah, No,
• 35:31
Speaker 3: I'm right there with you.
• 35:32
Speaker 1: But you know, you think, get fifty plus, a lot
• 35:34
Speaker 1: of guys are like just trying to win every bat.
• 35:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, They're trying to win every battle, and it's like, man,
• 35:38
Speaker 3: you gotta let that go. Just that's not important. Yeah,
• 35:41
Speaker 3: it really isn't not in the big scheme of things.
• 35:44
Speaker 1: How about conversely for women fifty plus, Like you're out
• 35:46
Speaker 1: there in the dating world, you hear it, what are
• 35:48
Speaker 1: women in your opinion?
• 35:50
  Speaker 2: And I get it that's.
• 35:51
Speaker 1: Gonna be a generalization, but yeah, what in your experiences,
• 35:55
Speaker 1: what have you seen that women are really?
• 35:57
  Speaker 3: This is it?
• 35:58
Speaker 2: This is a deal breaker for me. And you're just like, why.
• 36:02
Speaker 3: I think the some women these days who are very independent,
• 36:09
Speaker 3: they they want to take the lead, but they don't
• 36:13
Speaker 3: know how to acquiesce and give and give you even
• 36:18
Speaker 3: in dancing, it's like you know there there's a leader
• 36:22
Speaker 3: and a follower in dancing right.
• 36:24
Speaker 2: Well, and you're a really good dancer, so you know
• 36:26
Speaker 2: that better than most. He should lead.
• 36:28
Speaker 3: If I'm leading, it's gonna be like two left feet out.
• 36:32
Speaker 2: And now all of a sudden we're both like, I'm
• 36:34
  Speaker 2: gonna spend and.
• 36:36
Speaker 3: Nothing against strong, independent women who are successful in their
• 36:41
Speaker 3: careers and doing all the things. But you've got to
• 36:45
Speaker 3: acquiesce and let the man do what he does, opening
• 36:49
  Speaker 3: the door.
• 36:51
Speaker 2: Just little things, So don't get offended by chivalrous or
• 36:54
Speaker 2: gentlemanly behavior. Amen, Yes, yes, yeah, I think that's I
• 36:58
Speaker 2: think that's a really good point too.
• 37:00
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 37:00
Speaker 1: So when you're dating and you go on a first day,
• 37:04
Speaker 1: what are three things that you think you should know
• 37:06
Speaker 1: about that person after that first date?
• 37:09
  Speaker 2: Top three things?
• 37:10
Speaker 3: The top three things I want to know. First of
• 37:13
Speaker 3: all is are you a godly woman? Do you believe
• 37:18
  Speaker 3: in you're religion as a spiritual person? Yeah, that's that's
• 37:23
Speaker 3: I think something very important. And you can't be afraid
• 37:26
Speaker 3: to ask that question, right, because.
• 37:28
Speaker 1: Well, it has become kind of a taboo topic. It
• 37:30
Speaker 1: seems right like people are afraid to ask that question,
• 37:32
  Speaker 1: right exactly.
• 37:33
Speaker 3: So that's one. I think. The second thing is things
• 37:38
Speaker 3: that they enjoy doing extracurricular activities. I want to know
• 37:43
Speaker 3: something for the next time I plan a date. Hey,
• 37:47
  Speaker 3: let's go for a hike.
• 37:48
Speaker 2: I know you like to You said you like hiking,
• 37:50
Speaker 2: and yeah, that kind of thing, right.
• 37:52
Speaker 3: And then the third thing I think would be is God,
• 37:56
Speaker 3: there's so many things going through my mind. Now do
• 37:59
Speaker 3: you like to travel? Do you like to? So I
• 38:02
Speaker 3: can really look forward to planning another outing or another.
• 38:06
Speaker 2: Date, or to see if you have enough in common
• 38:08
Speaker 2: then another date makes sense. Yeah, right, exactly. So if
• 38:10
  Speaker 2: you're a big travel guy and they're like, nope, I
• 38:12
Speaker 2: like to be on the couch.
• 38:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm not going anywhere, Like Okay, this is
• 38:16
  Speaker 1: not the right.
• 38:16
  Speaker 2: Person for me.
• 38:17
  Speaker 3: Flag.
• 38:17
  Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a right. Flag, that's a that'll be another date.
• 38:21
  Speaker 2: So intimacy, yeah.
• 38:22
Speaker 1: Right, everybody always this is kind of the hot button topic,
• 38:25
Speaker 1: right it seems anyway, especially with like Tender and all
• 38:28
Speaker 1: the different dating apps out there. You know, if you're
• 38:32
Speaker 1: intimate with someone on the first night, do you think,
• 38:37
Speaker 1: generally speaking, do men still want to date that woman
• 38:41
Speaker 1: if they hooked up in the biblical sense on the
• 38:46
  Speaker 1: first night.
• 38:47
  Speaker 3: No?
• 38:47
Speaker 2: Really, Wow, I love that you're being honest right now.
• 38:50
Speaker 1: Not for me? Yeah, okay, do you go through with
• 38:53
Speaker 1: the with the intimacy on the biblical.
• 38:55
Speaker 3: Sense on the first night?
• 38:58
  Speaker 2: No?
• 38:58
Speaker 1: No, okay, okay, now, because if you said yes, I
• 39:02
Speaker 1: was gonna be like hippocrite.
• 39:03
Speaker 2: Okay, So let's say this.
• 39:05
Speaker 1: So if someone's basically because it was like Gary, let's
• 39:08
Speaker 1: go upstairs, and you're like.
• 39:10
Speaker 2: No, that's not that's not no, nope, yeah, that's not
• 39:13
Speaker 2: gonna happen. But you're you're also like, and she's not
• 39:16
Speaker 2: right for me, I'm not going.
• 39:17
Speaker 3: Right, you know. I I want someone who respects me
• 39:21
Speaker 3: as a person. I'm not just some physical being that's
• 39:25
Speaker 3: just trying to me.
• 39:26
Speaker 2: You're not walking around like it. No USD choice.
• 39:29
Speaker 3: Also looking at you with all due respect the same way.
• 39:32
Speaker 3: I want to be able to look forward to this
• 39:36
Speaker 3: gift that's been given to me, but over a period
• 39:41
Speaker 3: of time, and we're both gonna have to earn the
• 39:42
Speaker 3: respect of each other as well as the opportunity to
• 39:48
Speaker 3: love each other. As my body is a temple, but
• 39:54
Speaker 3: so is yours. But that doesn't mean that I'm any
• 39:57
Speaker 3: less than just because I'm a god young man.
• 40:00
Speaker 2: I was gonna I want to.
• 40:03
Speaker 3: Those days are way back there. They're way back there.
• 40:08
Speaker 2: I get it. I hear you, buddy. I love that.
• 40:20
  Speaker 2: All right.
• 40:21
  Speaker 3: Yeah, there's more.
• 40:23
  Speaker 2: I got more.
• 40:23
Speaker 1: I've still got like forty six questions left on our
• 40:27
Speaker 1: top twenty one questions. Now, I'm just kidding, all right.
• 40:30
Speaker 1: Long distance relationships. You've been in one before, right, I'm
• 40:32
  Speaker 1: sure you have.
• 40:36
  Speaker 3: They don't work?
• 40:36
Speaker 2: They right, Okay, they don't work.
• 40:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, they don't work. I've tried, and it's just not possible. Yeah,
• 40:44
Speaker 3: not for me. Yeah, I want someone who's going to
• 40:47
Speaker 3: be around close by, who is pouring into me as
• 40:52
Speaker 3: I'm able to pour into them, right, and with technology
• 40:55
Speaker 3: and the FaceTime and all that, it's just to crutch
• 41:00
  Speaker 3: it really is.
• 41:01
Speaker 1: I can say this as someone who lived it. Yeah,
• 41:04
Speaker 1: it really opposite coasts is a very difficult thing to do.
• 41:07
Speaker 1: Now done that doesn't expensive, and yeah, very expensive, But
• 41:10
Speaker 1: there's different ways to be long distance. But if there's
• 41:11
Speaker 1: a time change involved, for me, it's not going to
• 41:15
Speaker 1: work because it becomes a struggle to stay involved in
• 41:21
Speaker 1: each other's life totally and to be and to be
• 41:23
Speaker 1: a resource for that person, which is why you're in
• 41:25
  Speaker 1: a relationship.
• 41:25
  Speaker 3: Right.
• 41:26
Speaker 1: If the plan of me being in a relationship is
• 41:27
Speaker 1: for me to share my life with someone, me getting
• 41:29
Speaker 1: the cliff notes at the end of the night, right
• 41:32
Speaker 1: before you're going to bed, that's not sharing.
• 41:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's me just.
• 41:35
Speaker 1: Getting you know, somebody just kind of filling me in
• 41:37
Speaker 1: another day. I could do that with no offense. I
• 41:39
Speaker 1: could do that with you and and I don't need
• 41:40
Speaker 1: to be sleeping with you.
• 41:40
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not going to work. No, it's just it's
• 41:43
Speaker 3: something about being present, yeah, or in the neighborhood or
• 41:48
Speaker 3: nearby close enough to where we can drive to each other.
• 41:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, right, we can get over there.
• 41:53
Speaker 1: We can spend time together, touch each other, hang out.
• 41:55
Speaker 1: Doesn't need to be sexual every time, it do whatever
• 41:57
Speaker 1: it is right now?
• 41:58
Speaker 2: I love that. Okay.
• 42:00
Speaker 1: If you're in a relationship with someone, do you consider
• 42:02
Speaker 1: any of the following cheating? Going to strip club yes,
• 42:06
Speaker 1: watching porn yes, having a subscription to OnlyFans no. Come on,
• 42:12
Speaker 1: wait a minute, Okay, I'm supposed to make this fast.
• 42:15
Speaker 2: You just derailed the whole train. How is that one not?
• 42:20
Speaker 3: Oh? For God's sake?
• 42:24
Speaker 2: Yes, okay, all right.
• 42:26
Speaker 1: When you're in a serious relationship or marriage, is it
• 42:28
Speaker 1: okay to be friends with an ex if you had
• 42:30
  Speaker 1: no children together?
• 42:32
Speaker 3: Yes? Why your friends?
• 42:35
  Speaker 1: Right?
• 42:36
Speaker 3: Mhm. But it depends if your partner thinks that's not good,
• 42:41
Speaker 3: you gotta be ready to say yeah, we're yeah, agree. Agree.
• 42:46
Speaker 2: What do you think of couples who divorce and then
• 42:48
Speaker 2: remarry each By the way.
• 42:49
Speaker 3: That last question, it took me some time to grow
• 42:51
Speaker 3: into that, because once a relationship was over, it was over.
• 42:55
  Speaker 2: You were done.
• 42:56
Speaker 3: See why the train is leaving the station. But I've
• 43:01
Speaker 3: seen how people have grown back together.
• 43:06
Speaker 2: Just and I have a different capacity.
• 43:09
Speaker 3: Yeah, And I've always said, how is that? How is
• 43:12
Speaker 3: that possible? Yeah? But my ex and I, my ex wife,
• 43:16
Speaker 3: and my grandson now have brought us all closer together
• 43:20
Speaker 3: as yeah, of course.
• 43:21
Speaker 1: So yeah, So I'm I'm still friendly with my ax
• 43:24
Speaker 1: and and it's cool with Canyon, so that makes it cool.
• 43:27
  Speaker 2: If she wasn't cool with it, I wouldn't Ben't you
• 43:30
Speaker 2: know how to respect for our marriage and our relationship? Sorry,
• 43:33
  Speaker 2: I love it.
• 43:33
  Speaker 3: I love it.
• 43:34
Speaker 2: Do you believe in love it first sight?
• 43:36
  Speaker 3: Yes?
• 43:36
Speaker 2: Boxers or briefs? Boxers, baloney or Cheeseez?
• 43:41
Speaker 1: I have an idea to talk about, all right, what's
• 43:42
Speaker 1: something you learned about yourself going through the vorce.
• 43:46
Speaker 3: That nobody comes out unscathed. Everybody gets cut.
• 43:53
Speaker 1: I was talking to Deanna Pappas every and Diana Papus
• 43:56
Speaker 1: just went through something very public, right, and I said
• 43:59
Speaker 1: to I'm like, I'm like, Deanna, been saying this for years,
• 44:00
Speaker 1: but no one seems to listen to me. Divorce sucks,
• 44:03
Speaker 1: even if you want it.
• 44:04
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 44:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, And the reason why it sucks is because it
• 44:07
Speaker 1: is still having to recognize the end of something that
• 44:09
Speaker 1: you wanted to work. Absolutely if you didn't want it.
• 44:11
Speaker 1: To work you wouldn't have done in the first place.
• 44:13
Speaker 1: And it's and it sucks because it's easier to get
• 44:16
Speaker 1: divorced than it is to get married. Everybody, you know, Yeah,
• 44:20
Speaker 1: there's no one, no stone left unturned, and nobody.
• 44:22
Speaker 3: To see some scar for a long time. I agree.
• 44:26
Speaker 2: Well, buddy, as always, you are so open and vulnerable
• 44:29

• 44:44
Speaker 1: puts on the ball. But I appreciate you, man, I
• 44:46
Speaker 1: love I love that the Goldens came into this whole
• 44:49
Speaker 1: world and it brought a lot for me personally, like
• 44:53
Speaker 1: to get to see some people that I loved, how
• 44:55
Speaker 1: they were handling themselves and and and then to get
