- 0:21Hello. Hi.
- 0:23How are you? I'm.
- 0:24Doing pretty good. How are you?
- 0:26I'm good. I was just telling you I like
- 0:27your hair. And what were you going to say?
- 0:29I literally, so I had it down because it's snowing.
- 0:33And so I had a winter hat on when I went down to the kennel
- 0:35room. And then when I took it off, I'm
- 0:36like, no, like I looked like AI put my finger in a light socket
- 0:40and I looked like I had like a mushroom head.
- 0:42So it went through it up and I'm like, Oh my gosh, are these
- 0:44tendrils gonna look weird? I'm like, I'm not even gonna
- 0:46know until we start recording. And I would just like tuck them
- 0:49back. But the fact that you're like, I
- 0:50like your hair. I'm like OK, cool.
- 0:53I do I. Don't tempt me with a little
- 0:56positive reinforcement. I was going to do, I was going
- 1:00to put on like a beanie hat because it's not, I mean, I
- 1:06don't know, it's not cold at all.
- 1:07I would sweat outside with it on.
- 1:08But just like hair wise, I'm not.
- 1:10Last time I was like, I'm going to do my hair every single
- 1:13podcast. I'm not.
- 1:14Committing to that. Well.
- 1:16That was so funny. The one time I showed up and my
- 1:18hair was like, done. You're like, Oh my gosh, you're
- 1:20like, what did you say you looked like?
- 1:22Jlo. No, that you looked like.
- 1:25Oh a Teletubby, Yes, I honestly have no reference for that.
- 1:31It just popped into my head the. Last time I can't Unsee it.
- 1:34The last time I thought of a Teletubby was when I was a
- 1:37babysitter in like, I don't know, 6th grade?
- 1:40Anyway, it's weird how things just pop in your head.
- 1:42This is one thing I love playing this game around Casey.
- 1:45Or I'll say just say whatever word comes to mind like.
- 1:50It's the weirdest thing ever. It's the weirdest thing.
- 1:51It's just a very weird little exercise.
- 1:54But like it's the weirdest thing that comes to his mind that I
- 1:58was thinking about. Reoccurring dreams.
- 2:01I had a dream last night that was really weird.
- 2:02It wasn't a reoccurring dream, but can you share your poop
- 2:06nugget reoccurring dream with our friends here at The Pod?
- 2:11With our many friends that should be know about my poop
- 2:14dreams. Yeah, I mean with the millions
- 2:16of streams we have, like everyone wants to know.
- 2:20Well, by the way, I had another poop dream last week, but it
- 2:23wasn't my poop, It was dog's poop.
- 2:26That's even worse. Yeah, I don't know.
- 2:28It was so bizarre. Oh, yeah, I have recurring poop
- 2:32dreams. Well, mainly like one time.
- 2:35OK, the amount of times we're going to say poop in this
- 2:38episode is already intense, but I had a dream.
- 2:41Really hit the limit. A poop nugget fell out of my
- 2:44pants. I was just walking you.
- 2:45Call it a poop nugget is what kills me.
- 2:48People will know what I what I mean.
- 2:49But you're just, it's just like falling out of your pants.
- 2:52Yeah, that's usually if you're you're like dehydrated probably
- 2:54or something. But anyway, so, but my other
- 2:58like really recurring one about potty stuff is when for some
- 3:02reason I'm around, I'm like, I have to go to the bathroom on a
- 3:05toilet, but it's either in a stall that has no doors or
- 3:09walls. So everyone's right next to each
- 3:13other. And then the other thing is it
- 3:15always overflows. And then it's that feeling of,
- 3:18Oh my God, someone's going to know that I did something
- 3:20terrible in here and it's just overflowing.
- 3:22I can't stop it. That's what my dream is.
- 3:24Oh my God, have you ever looked up what that is?
- 3:27I'm sure it's. Something about anxiety or like
- 3:31fear of something. I try not to look mine up
- 3:33anymore because mine's always like my teeth are falling out
- 3:35and I know that one's like an anxiety thing.
- 3:38Yes. Have you had that one recently?
- 3:40I had that one when we were in Florida.
- 3:42Oh, that's right. Yeah, but no, I haven't had it
- 3:44since. I had a weird dream last night
- 3:45that I was telling cases. It's actually kind of terrible,
- 3:49but also like, bizarre. So I'm driving in my car.
- 3:52So my Forerunner, I'm in a car wash and I'm going to the
- 3:58outside section. You know how you slow down and
- 4:00it's like the dryer, like you're just in like 1 at a gas station
- 4:03or something. So you go really, really slow
- 4:05through it and there's usually like a car in front of you.
- 4:07So the car in front of me was like a toy Jeep with three kids
- 4:12driving it like 3. You know, those little toy Jeeps
- 4:14that are plastic. And it was like little kids,
- 4:19like 2-4 year olds maybe and like an infant and the infant
- 4:22was driving it, but in like in their baby car seat.
- 4:26And I have this dream sometimes that I can't like my brakes
- 4:30aren't as like they, it doesn't fully stop.
- 4:33I'm like pressing it as hard as I can.
- 4:35And I'm just, I'm not going fast, but I'm just still tiny
- 4:38bit rolling. So I'm coming up behind this
- 4:40little toy Jeep in the in this car wash and I'm going literally
- 4:46not even 5 miles an hour, but my car is not stopping.
- 4:50It rolls over the toy Jeep with the children in it, and I get
- 4:56out. I'm freaking out.
- 4:57They're all alive and they're all just like, oh, what
- 4:59happened? Like as if they just got like,
- 5:02you know, I don't know, just like knocked over by someone on
- 5:05a scooter. No, a forerunner felt like ran
- 5:08over them and I get out and I immediately go to the infant and
- 5:12she's kind of like doesn't look great.
- 5:15And I pick her up and I'm like, Oh my gosh.
- 5:17And like she was starts crying and she was fine.
- 5:19The mom's in like a car right outside of it and I'm like, Oh
- 5:24my gosh, like my car. I was hitting my brakes as hard
- 5:26as I could. Mom's like, ah, they're fine.
- 5:29I'm like, I'm like, can you please take my information?
- 5:33Like, can you please take them? Just make sure they're OK like
- 5:37this. Yeah, this was a dream that I
- 5:39had. And then I woke up and I'm like,
- 5:41that was bizarre. How did that dream make you
- 5:44feel? Like actually no.
- 5:47Like kind of funny because it's like everyone was like, but I'm
- 5:50like, I almost felt like this is wild.
- 5:52Like why would the mom not be so upset with me?
- 5:55Like I I felt like I should be in trouble but the mom didn't
- 6:00seem mad so and the kids seemed OK but I'm like why?
- 6:03It was just like a bizarre dream.
- 6:06Another one I've had a lot, not recently, but it was always
- 6:08about Gators, which is so like cliche about Florida people, but
- 6:13Gators and people in Florida. But it would be like they're
- 6:17swimming underneath and like I'm in a little, little boat.
- 6:20So I'm almost always stranded and like they're all around me.
- 6:24I've had dreams like that, but mine are sharks.
- 6:27That are not Gators, yeah. That's so funny.
- 6:31My friend posted a story and about the snow and she's like,
- 6:36well, we don't have hurricanes. We don't have, you know, many
- 6:39tornadoes. We don't have alligators.
- 6:41I responded back to her. I'm like, I'd much rather
- 6:43alligators than the snow. Yeah, I mean, they don't come up
- 6:47to you. Really.
- 6:48Yeah. It's they're like deer here.
- 6:50It's just like they see you and they run off if you even see
- 6:52them. Yeah, but that's very like
- 6:55cliche because someone at trainer and you, the last one
- 6:57was like, do you see Gators all the time or something?
- 7:00I was like. Considering now, did she say
- 7:01something about like considering moving here?
- 7:03But she's like, I don't know if that'll be like hard with the
- 7:05dogs. No, she just like I think for
- 7:07conversation purposes, she was just like, since she said it so
- 7:11seriously, and I really like I like all of them.
- 7:13But like she's it was funny where she just said it like a
- 7:16normal conversation thing. Not trying to be funny or
- 7:19whatever. Just you live in Florida.
- 7:21Do you see Gators all the time? And I was like, no, I don't know
- 7:24the last time. We to seek him out and when I
- 7:27wanted to see him like the first couple times that we visited.
- 7:30Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I can't believe you have a
- 7:33snowstorm right now. That's wild.
- 7:36FML. This is.
- 7:37Made me want to move more than anything else.
- 7:41But your summers are so great. I'm so sick of saying that, but
- 7:45yeah. Well, we're coming up to our
- 7:47summer. I can feel it like this week
- 7:49tomorrow, 'cause we're probably, it was like when I told him you
- 7:51have a snowstorm and he was like, did you tell them we're
- 7:53getting a storm too? And I was like, no, it's not
- 7:55really the same like. Sunny storm.
- 7:58Well, it would be like a Thunder rainstorm.
- 8:01It's just delightful though. I like sitting on the porch now,
- 8:04but no summer. Storm is fine in January, but
- 8:08two days before my birthday? This is like the audacity of
- 8:11Wisconsin. I know, but it is what it is.
- 8:15Whatever. I'm just, it's supposed to be 50
- 8:18on my birthday, so I'm hoping that that's the case and then
- 8:21things will melt. We were supposed to do this on
- 8:23your birthday. I had a little plan planned.
- 8:25Oh, I'm sorry. Two days before, by the way.
- 8:28Yeah. It's gonna go out on our on my
- 8:30birthday. This actually works out.
- 8:32I hope it's OK with you 'cause this actually works out great
- 8:35with us being like, we literally can't go anywhere today 'cause
- 8:38it's just, Oh yeah, it's basically Blizzard condition.
- 8:42Yeah. So yeah, I was like, well, I
- 8:44might as well talk to my BFF and be happy if I'm gonna be stuck
- 8:48inside. OK, can I tell you something?
- 8:50I have this thing I wanna ask you so 'cause I have a.
- 8:53List of things today. Whoa.
- 8:55Nothing to do with dog training. All just things I wanna tell
- 8:57you. OK, so I'm going to do 1 and
- 9:00then I want to hear yours. OK, so I saw this it's like a
- 9:04podcast or something from NPR where she does it's called wild
- 9:08card and what she'll I saw an episode with Brené Brown because
- 9:12I just love Brené Brown stuff so much.
- 9:13And she picks up like these three cards and she'll ask 123
- 9:17which one to pick and then it'll be a question.
- 9:20OK, like, Oh my gosh, that's so cool.
- 9:21So I looked up. I just ordered a pack of them.
- 9:24Awesome. And then I also, because I put
- 9:26it in a ChatGPT and it was like, would you like me to come up
- 9:28with because I was saying to do on the podcast with you.
- 9:31Yeah. You want me to come up with some
- 9:32questions you can ask Kate in the next 1.
- 9:34And I was like, yes. So.
- 9:36OK, so. So I love this one and I've had
- 9:40time to prepare. So I'm going to have to have you
- 9:42like pick one for next time. I don't know.
- 9:45Whatever. OK.
- 9:47Oh, I want to answer this one about you first.
- 9:48What's something about me that people probably wouldn't guess
- 9:51from Instagram? OK, so am I answering that about
- 9:55you and then you're answering it about me?
- 9:56Or do we answer it about ourselves?
- 9:58You are so you answered about me.
- 10:00I answered about you. So I'm going to answer about you
- 10:02first. OK, OK, so because the one thing
- 10:05I think I don't know, I mean you like you sprinkle this into your
- 10:10like Instagram stories and stuff.
- 10:11I don't think people probably know how I don't.
- 10:16I've never said the word wicked, but it's what I want to say.
- 10:19Wicked sense of humor you have. Yeah.
- 10:23Like you love a funny moment? Oh, I am a jokester.
- 10:27OK, tell it 'cause I still think about the banana story and it
- 10:29still haunts me sometimes. Oh oh I love also like pulling
- 10:34kind of pranks on people. You're a pranky person.
- 10:37Yeah, oh, for sure. So my poor best friend of so
- 10:43when we moved to Wisconsin, I was in 4th grade and she was my
- 10:46first friend that I made first friend that I met and we kind of
- 10:50just were like those friends where we don't keep up as much
- 10:53now we're still like very, very close like love her to death.
- 10:56We're just in completely different seasons of our lives,
- 10:59but so we've been friends over 20 years at this point, but we
- 11:03were in middle school together, we went to high school together,
- 11:07and then we actually went to college together.
- 11:08So we were roommates in college and we both worked at a Tropical
- 11:12Smoothie Cafe and I. Worked at one of those too,
- 11:16which is so crazy. Yeah.
- 11:18Insane. And so it opened up and it was
- 11:20like definitely a new thing for the area.
- 11:22Like I went to school in Green Bay, WI, so it was like the only
- 11:26one that they had. And we started working there
- 11:28when it's pretty new. So early on they were doing
- 11:31stuff where they like, you know, lots of advertising and they had
- 11:36these two suits. One was a smoothie and one was a
- 11:39banana. Similarly, you'll see like
- 11:40outside of, I don't know, I keep thinking car washes, but you
- 11:44know, people out there like, well, come in, come get a car
- 11:47wash where this was like, oh, come in a smoothie, you know.
- 11:52So I told my friend, me and her were the only ones working.
- 11:55It was really, really slow. And there's like cameras in the
- 12:00shop that I know the owner constantly would check.
- 12:03And so the phone rang and it was the owner.
- 12:08And he was just like calling to ask me a question or something
- 12:11like that. And I was like, OK, Dalton,
- 12:12like, talk to you later. I hang up and I go, we call it.
- 12:16Her nickname is Rack. I was like, Rack, that was
- 12:19Dalton. He he said that you need to go
- 12:21out into the banana suit and, you know, just go to go to try
- 12:24to attract people to come and just like, are you kidding me?
- 12:28Like I hate doing that. I do not want to do it.
- 12:31I'm like, I don't call him like I made it So I was like, yeah,
- 12:34give him a call like if you want to.
- 12:36But he said he'd rather me stay in and you go out and and try to
- 12:41attract some customers. So she's like, Dang it.
- 12:44So she gets all dressed up. I take a picture of her and
- 12:47everything. She's out there dancing in the
- 12:50banana suit. I'm taking videos.
- 12:53It's a drive through window. Probably like 20 minutes after I
- 12:56have her in there. I was like, hey, Rack.
- 12:58She's like, what? I'm like, just kidding.
- 13:02She's like, what do you mean just kidding?
- 13:03I'm like, Dalton didn't say you had to get in the banana suit.
- 13:07She's like, are you kidding me, Kate?
- 13:10The fact that she, she would believe me, she was such an easy
- 13:13target. Still to this day, I'm like,
- 13:15she's the only of like our closest friends.
- 13:17That's a mom. She's 3 kids.
- 13:19And I'm like, you're still so gullible.
- 13:20I still can like she's one of those that's like easily
- 13:24influenced with that kind of stuff.
- 13:25I'm like, that was too easy. You love a prank.
- 13:29I don't think people know that about you.
- 13:31Yeah, and I feel like I used to do more of like sassy funny
- 13:35reels and stuff like that. I don't do as many now but I
- 13:37love a like let me act and like be the funny person or be the
- 13:43jokester in it or like the goofy one.
- 13:46OK, yeah, I can see that. I just saw this one person who I
- 13:49started following her comedian. I was trying to describe the
- 13:52reels to Bobby yesterday. It doesn't land like the same.
- 13:54I just, I hate doing that where I'm like, oh, this is so funny.
- 13:57And I tell it terribly. Yes.
- 13:59But what she does is she goes on rants.
- 14:01And I started like thinking the other night when I was going to
- 14:05sleep, I was dreaming about like these different rants I could do
- 14:08where it's just like you tap into to like a different part of
- 14:10yourself. It's a part of yourself that's
- 14:11like, I don't care, but is your life motto for these rants.
- 14:17And there was something very exciting about that.
- 14:20Just thinking about what I could do, like rant wise.
- 14:23Anyway, well, it's so funny that you say that too, because like I
- 14:26feel like that personality of me comes out a lot of the trainer
- 14:29and you like I just have mine very but like they get to see
- 14:31like I constantly break out into like the song of staring at the
- 14:35blank page and like get my face going or start like a dance or
- 14:38whatever, or like have no poker face.
- 14:41Like if I'm feeling something, my face is like yes.
- 14:45And I feel like I show that a ton in person with people.
- 14:48Yeah, you do. I love like, I love making
- 14:51people laugh. Like if so, I like, I really, I
- 14:55like don't want to, you know, overdo it or oversell it.
- 14:58So I try to keep it like I don't really care if you laugh, but.
- 15:02But you really do. Oh, I love when people laugh at
- 15:05me. Oh, yeah, it's so good.
- 15:09OK, something about Bethany. See, I feel like you share more
- 15:14just like about not even like about yourself.
- 15:18Like I definitely come on as myself, but I feel like people
- 15:24might see you as like a lot of your stuff is, you know, you get
- 15:28excited about like your lemon tree and like the creative stuff
- 15:32and like, but I don't think people would necessarily realize
- 15:36the depth that you have as well, where it's like, I feel like you
- 15:41are extremely grounded and like who you are.
- 15:45But like, you probably are better at like having personal
- 15:49boundaries for yourself than anyone I know.
- 15:52Oh, wow, really. And I don't know that people
- 15:54would necessarily think that about you.
- 15:56Yeah. Like even even like, and I know
- 15:58this took work and stuff, but like even something as simple as
- 16:01like you even said yesterday and I could tell just because you're
- 16:05usually quicker to respond to me.
- 16:07But like even just boundaries with your phone, you're like
- 16:09amazing at that. Or like if there's something you
- 16:12do not want to do, like sometimes I'll I'll kind of like
- 16:15appease people if it's something that it's like not going to
- 16:19affect me negatively. But if like you don't want to do
- 16:21something or you don't agree with what someone's saying, like
- 16:25you won't just agree to agree. Oh, yeah, if that makes sense.
- 16:30Yeah. I like how you said that
- 16:31because, yeah, I feel like that's just been like kind of in
- 16:35the last year, I guess maybe I felt that way because.
- 16:39But I feel like when they get when people get to know you,
- 16:41I've felt that about you like that there's a true depth in you
- 16:44since I've known you. Oh.
- 16:46That's so nice. I don't know that I would have
- 16:48known that until we became really good friends.
- 16:50OK. Because I did.
- 16:51I I do, like always see you as like my rainbows and
- 16:53butterflies, friend. Yeah.
- 16:55Yeah. And like, you'll even say like
- 16:56you, not in a weird way, but like, you do have like this
- 16:59childlike essence in you. And I think that that's amazing.
- 17:03And it's not like a weird, like immature kind of like thing.
- 17:06It's just like. Like someone that's in the
- 17:07Teletubbies or something that's not.
- 17:09No, do anything like weird. You're just like you don't you
- 17:12take life seriously, but not so seriously where it's like just
- 17:16cuz you're 40, you shouldn't be doing something like Oh yeah,
- 17:18you're not like that. Like you, you'll try anything
- 17:22that's like, I don't know, it's so I feel like that balance of
- 17:26your personality is not something that always comes
- 17:28through on Instagram, but I think it's like super, it's
- 17:32honestly probably one of your like, I think things that comes
- 17:36through the strongest when you're actually friends with
- 17:38you. Oh, I love that.
- 17:40Thank you. I asked Bobby to answer it and
- 17:43he said, well, he didn't say you're lazy, but he said like, I
- 17:51think. Yeah, I I get one.
- 17:54OK, keep. Going He was like, people on
- 17:56Instagram probably think his time is so weird.
- 18:00So it's like you have a guide and then you have a book or
- 18:02you're working on something else and then you have something else
- 18:04creative you're working on and you have all these ideas that
- 18:07you like bring to life. Yeah, yeah.
- 18:10And he was like, but you really love to just do nothing, which
- 18:15is so. It is so true.
- 18:19And I don't care. I I honestly totally fine.
- 18:21Like I don't love like when we were talking, I forget who it
- 18:24was at the rot era. I'm not like a rot person like I
- 18:28don't well. I questioned it.
- 18:31Because the porch a little okay so that.
- 18:34Porch seems a little rot era. We can have sections to our
- 18:37personality. That's the table section.
- 18:41Yeah. Can we say one thing that we
- 18:43don't think people would necessarily know on Instagram?
- 18:45That's maybe not the most positive thing about each other.
- 18:48Oh, sure. OK.
- 18:49OK. Do you have one for me?
- 18:50I have one for you. You go first.
- 18:53I would just say like, I don't think, especially with how like
- 18:56your creatives are and like little bits of like seeing
- 18:58what's behind you. You guys are cluttery people,
- 19:02you and Bobby. And I don't think people would.
- 19:05Yeah. And I just never like.
- 19:07Are you looking at like this is driving you crazy?
- 19:09Right now, no, what I'm saying is like behind you right now,
- 19:11like it looks like your your house is beautiful, like you see
- 19:14on Instagram your ferns hanging with like your chickens in the
- 19:18background and stuff. But like that's not looking at
- 19:22the other side of something that's like a pile of, you know,
- 19:25things. Yeah.
- 19:30So that was something that I actually I learned that the most
- 19:32this trip. Oh for sure, there was no hiding
- 19:35that. Also because I was really
- 19:37panicked because I had about 3 days to.
- 19:39We also ambushed your house. Yeah.
- 19:41So in my in my kitchen, it's I kind of have this thing of if I
- 19:46can't see it, it's not there, at least for.
- 19:48Now see it. Oh no, no, the kitchen cabinet,
- 19:52which I only go into like, I don't know, five times a day,
- 19:55but it's like for a second. So anyway, so that because I
- 19:58knew I'm thinking before you all come to stay with us.
- 20:01It was the first you were in the Airbnb, so I was like, OK, I
- 20:03have time to like. Living with us, yes.
- 20:07Yeah. But Oh my God, you've seen how
- 20:09quickly I ran into the house after we got back from putting
- 20:12stuff in our van from like, I was like, Bobby, we have to go
- 20:16home fast because I have to go into the kitchen.
- 20:18I have to clean that, but clean the cupboard that there's
- 20:21nowhere for them to put their snacks.
- 20:23Still, The funny thing about is your cupboard I would never
- 20:25think of like I would never look at that.
- 20:27It's just like it's a pantry that's full of stuff, you know,
- 20:29that's like similar to ours. It's more of the like little
- 20:33piles of things like on your kitchen island, how it's like
- 20:37always in conscious you it's Bobby too.
- 20:39This is. Not.
- 20:40Bethany thing? No, no, no.
- 20:42Yeah. So I don't know that people
- 20:43would necessarily know that or think that of you.
- 20:46No, I prefer to keep that secret, yeah.
- 20:49Well, it's out there now. Like, yeah, oh gosh, I can't
- 20:55think of anything negative really about you because that's.
- 20:58Not really, that's not. That's not, that's like, quirky.
- 21:00That's like, yeah, it's not a negative thing at all, but it's
- 21:04not like I wouldn't say that to anyone.
- 21:06Like you'd have to be my close friend to say like, hey, you're
- 21:08kind of cluttered. Like I'm not going to walk into
- 21:11someone's house that's actually very cluttered and be like, you
- 21:13guys are kind of cluttered. I'll judge internally.
- 21:16I don't ever want to. OK, that scares me more than
- 21:19anything. Is you judging internally, not
- 21:20you. I wouldn't judge you internally.
- 21:23You would do it outwardly I. Mean I I completely had you redo
- 21:28your porch. I know, but you, you, you.
- 21:31It's a roundabout way of telling me because what I think you'd
- 21:35really like to say was you said at one point kind of but nicely
- 21:38where you were like, did you think that we weren't going to
- 21:40like redo anything on your back porch before the trainer and
- 21:43you? Yeah, Yep.
- 21:45That was a real thought that came to mind.
- 21:47So it came out of my mouth. Well, this is how I posed it to
- 21:52you. I was like I said, like I think
- 21:54we could give it a little facelift, like feel like it
- 21:56would make you feel good. And whenever I say something
- 21:59like making you phrase, you're like, yeah, say less.
- 22:02Take me to target fine, I love it good well and I have this
- 22:05like weird fear. I don't ever.
- 22:07I love my mom so much so hopefully if she's listening she
- 22:09doesn't take. I don't know if I should say it
- 22:13Well, OK, so. I said something about my
- 22:16mother-in-law last one but not negative.
- 22:18It's again how people take it, but.
- 22:20OK, well, so whatever. You're comfortable with.
- 22:22My family was in town, we were over at my mom's house and my
- 22:25niece and nephew were over there.
- 22:27And I was, like, playing with them with this little toy
- 22:29basketball. And we were throwing it around
- 22:31in the family room where the TV is and whatever.
- 22:36And we're having so much fun. And they Jack or someone
- 22:40accidentally threw the ball and it, like, hit something.
- 22:42Nothing too crazy, but it just, like, potentially could hurt
- 22:45something in the living or break something.
- 22:47Yeah. And my mom kind of got upset
- 22:49with him. And I was like, Oh my God, like
- 22:52we only see them so many times. Like the last thing I want to be
- 22:55remembered for is someone who's like, don't hurt my lamp.
- 22:58Like to. Me, I I never want to come
- 23:01across as uptight, even though in my head part of me is
- 23:04slightly uptight with some things, obviously not my porch
- 23:07table, but like things where I don't want someone to think back
- 23:11and think like, whoa, like she was so uptight about that
- 23:14because in my mind I was thinking we can replace the lamp
- 23:17like totally. We're having so much fun with
- 23:19this little stupid ball. Like let's just.
- 23:21And then he ended up getting kind of upset with her because
- 23:24he was like in a new teen talk back kind of face.
- 23:28And I was like, Oh Jesus, I don't.
- 23:30Like OK. I'm not on that side of it.
- 23:33I'm the fun aunt that plays with the ball, Yeah.
- 23:36Literally. OK, come on, you got to think of
- 23:39something for me. I can think of plenty.
- 23:43Oh, because I don't think that you like being super tidy and
- 23:48clean. Freaky is bad.
- 23:50OK, that's good. OK.
- 23:52I don't think that's bad either. I was going to say something
- 23:54like, I don't care if you air my like I don't think people would
- 23:57know that I'm extremely comfortable with bodily
- 24:00functions around very close friends.
- 24:03That is true. Well, we talked about poop for
- 24:05like, what, 4 1/2 minutes straight almost.
- 24:07It felt like yeah. And I literally farted in front
- 24:09of Bobby twice. No, but you were in the you were
- 24:12in the kitchen and you tooted and it sounded kind of like not
- 24:16just like air. It was like, whoa, like what's?
- 24:20Going like do you need to go check your?
- 24:23I was having a little bit gut problems.
- 24:25And you were like, I have to get it out before Bobby comes out.
- 24:28Yes. And then it was like the final
- 24:30day on we're like biking. And I'm like, it's just is what
- 24:34it is. Oh, that's right, that.
- 24:37One was that just snuck out. Oh, and then you were like,
- 24:40oops, it just popped out and like what?
- 24:42Like you can't control it. Like I have to mentally think
- 24:45I'm clenching if I I didn't. Try that hard.
- 24:48I could have tried harder, yeah. OK, so that's something.
- 24:51Yeah. All right.
- 24:52I inspire to be the cleanly. I am clean.
- 24:55Let's just say that. But yeah, you're not dirty
- 24:57clutter. The table was dirty.
- 24:58You should see the table right now it's just like so cluttery
- 25:00it would make you crazy. How does that happen?
- 25:04I honestly, there's potential in everything that's in here.
- 25:07That's what. It is, yeah, I get that.
- 25:09I might need this over here. I might need this nail Polish
- 25:13that I used 1 1/2 weeks ago, but I might need it today.
- 25:17That's what happens. Yes.
- 25:19See, that's the type of stuff is like.
- 25:21If you get something out and you use it, it doesn't get put away.
- 25:24Yeah, that's it. Yeah, but that's Bobby too.
- 25:26That is not just sure. One thing that I will say is
- 25:28hilarious. I don't know if he's just so
- 25:31like, in this way, like Casey would probably say something to
- 25:34me is when we go into your garage gym and we, like, take
- 25:39stuff out. I'm like, oh, I should put
- 25:40everything back. You'll leave it all out.
- 25:43Oh, yeah. And then Bobby picks up after
- 25:46you. I'm like, you go, girl.
- 25:50Like he doesn't. Does he say anything?
- 25:53No, he's just very nice to me in that way.
- 25:56I mean, Case is very nice to me too, but like he would like, hey
- 25:59Hon, when you like take out your.
- 26:01I don't know if he would actually.
- 26:02I know I would. Well, it's even like little
- 26:04things. It's just weird.
- 26:06And your relationship works so well.
- 26:07Ours works really well. Different dynamics where like
- 26:10how you and Casey sometimes talk to each other, where you'll get
- 26:12on him for something, which is like, yeah, of course.
- 26:15And he's like, sure, honey. Or he'll even he'll say
- 26:19something where it's like he responds in a way that's like,
- 26:22OK, yeah, of course. Yeah.
- 26:23Where I do that to Bobby, No, it's just it's not okay.
- 26:28This is why you heard me say, hey sugar, a lot like it's very
- 26:32nice to each other. Yeah, I know exactly what you're
- 26:36talking about. So obviously we were staying in
- 26:38your small spare bedroom, which is great, but like we got to
- 26:42keep it organized if we're going to have three animals in there
- 26:45and two humans. So he did his laundry and like
- 26:49with me when I did, I don't care if at home you do your laundry
- 26:51and it sits for a day or two before you put it away.
- 26:54But there I'm like you, you cannot pile it on the couch.
- 26:57Like like it's just, we cannot. So we're going on like day 2 of
- 27:02me being like, hey, can you please like put your laundry
- 27:04away? So it was the third time I had
- 27:06asked. I was like, hey, I'm like you,
- 27:09you got to go put your laundry away.
- 27:11So I think he was like really nice about it cuz he's like, Oh
- 27:13my God, she's asked me now like really nicely twice.
- 27:17And then you're like, Oh my God, like if I told Bobby to put his
- 27:19laundry away. Yeah, it's just like little.
- 27:22Table. He would get annoyed.
- 27:24Well, it's like if I go in which in the hall bath, which is my
- 27:27favorite bathroom to use. Although I love my master
- 27:32bathroom, it's like barely a room, but because the new shower
- 27:36head, which I love so much. So but I go into the bathroom in
- 27:40this hallway and we've been married for a while.
- 27:42So like the doors open. His his office is directly in
- 27:46front of it or you can see it when you're like on the toilet.
- 27:49Yeah. And so his doors open.
- 27:51I'm just peeing, by the way. And so I look in clothes
- 27:54everywhere, clothes on the clothes on the couch, clothes on
- 27:57the floor, in the corners. And I am like, in my head, this
- 28:00is where I am like, oh, my God, that's so messy.
- 28:03Like, this is making me crazy. I just want to look over there
- 28:06and see cleanliness. Yes, because I can see it.
- 28:08It's like, yes, I go to the bathroom quite often, you know,
- 28:11whatever. So.
- 28:12But if I go in there and can we clean this up?
- 28:14Like, you can help you. Well, which is very annoying to
- 28:19him, but I feel like it softens it in the moment.
- 28:20It doesn't. Yeah, but can I like put some of
- 28:23your stuff away and I'll say it like that And he's like, he gets
- 28:25very annoyed. He's like, no, like I that's
- 28:29what he'll do. No, he's not even saying
- 28:33anything. I think he's probably listening
- 28:35right now. He's not even saying anything.
- 28:36But it's just like I'm like, so that's the thing.
- 28:40I wonder if there's something, a dynamic we could go deeper, I'm
- 28:44sure at some point, but on how they were raised or like how we
- 28:47were all raised with like confrontation.
- 28:49Yes, I know that I do have to watch like because I am very
- 28:53forward and blunt. And so when you're so
- 28:54comfortable with someone that can come off as like bitchy.
- 28:58And that's like not my, that's not my goal because I know that
- 29:02that is something that makes Casey very uncomfortable.
- 29:06It's like really like he loves my like forwardness and but he
- 29:11doesn't want me to be and I don't want to be like mothering
- 29:14to him. No, no, no, So I have to.
- 29:15But we are have a very different like that's where I have to work
- 29:20on it and I've I've gotten a ton better with it where he needs to
- 29:23work on. He knows this is the the thought
- 29:27went in and it left like you've seen that with him too, of like
- 29:32he will act like he hears me on something and then it's just
- 29:35like, where did that even go? So that's where my like third
- 29:39time of saying something, I have to literally take a deep breath.
- 29:41Like that's the way that I said in front of you, which still is
- 29:44probably forward. That was very nice to me.
- 29:47Because I'm being nice, but it's like you are being forward where
- 29:50it works really well for the two of you.
- 29:52Just the way he responds. And it still is.
- 29:54Like, you know, there's love underneath that, but like, and.
- 29:57Slight annoyance. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 30:00Totally annoying. It's not like it's gonna turn
- 30:02into like, an argument. No.
- 30:04Where. That's why Bobby and I, we love
- 30:06that we're really nice to each other.
- 30:07Like, I mean, where I mean, we have moments, of course, where
- 30:12we're annoyed and we'll say something.
- 30:14But we've even talked about this where I don't mind
- 30:17confrontation. I actually kind of like it in a
- 30:19way because it gets you over the hump.
- 30:21It's really messy, uncomfortable.
- 30:22And then the other side is almost always so much better.
- 30:25Yes it's just communication but mine sometimes can come off.
- 30:30I'm not a debater by any means and I would hate to like have to
- 30:33debate something and like I don't like like talking about a
- 30:38topic or defending myself in a way.
- 30:41But when I'm arguing with him, it's almost like I was born to
- 30:44do this. I feel I don't know what happens
- 30:48to me but. He's probably just like.
- 30:50He hates it, Yeah. So it's like trying to come up
- 30:53with, like, what to say or what not to say.
- 30:55And so he hates that kind of stuff.
- 30:57He's gotten better because he can also see that after it's
- 31:00uncomfortable, it's not the worst thing in the world.
- 31:02We'll get through it, like. But yeah, yeah.
- 31:04It's funny. Oh, we could just go through all
- 31:08of that of like, talking. About like a therapist or
- 31:11something. Childhood stuff and and things
- 31:14like that. Oh so much.
- 31:16Oh my gosh. And then it's almost like that
- 31:17almost needs to be like on a Patreon or something because
- 31:20it's like. That's personal.
- 31:21That's. Very personal.
- 31:22Yeah, you gotta pay us to hear about our childhood wounds.
- 31:25Seriously. Or us talking about our
- 31:28husbands? Jeez.
- 31:29Because I feel like there's more to impact there then.
- 31:33Yeah, yeah, we love our husbands.
- 31:34It's just real relatable. Oh my God.
- 31:37We could start a Patreon. Is that still a thing?
- 31:39Yeah, I mean, I have two podcasts that I pay for and
- 31:42listen to on there. I love listening to their
- 31:44personal stuff. Wow.
- 31:46Yeah, it's the one I was telling you about, the two best friends
- 31:48that like made me wanna do this podcast with you in this kind of
- 31:51way versus it just being a dog training account.
- 31:54Yeah, I pay 5 bucks a month to listen to their Patreon.
- 31:57But they did their they did their normal for a while.
- 32:00Yeah, for a while. Yeah.
- 32:01To. Oh, that makes sense.
- 32:02OK, Yeah. OK.
- 32:05I love those questions, by the way.
- 32:07Right. Yeah, you should bring one every
- 32:08time. OK, I have about 15 others, but
- 32:10go ahead with yours. OK, mine aren't really any like
- 32:13questions, but just like topics. Yeah.
- 32:15So I didn't get a chance to read it, but I saw your title on your
- 32:19e-mail today of you almost quit dog training this week.
- 32:21Anything you wanna unpack there? I really, well, you know, like
- 32:26when you feel burnt out, even though we talked about this last
- 32:28time and this is what I touched on in the e-mail, where why
- 32:31would I be burnt out? I have one training dog.
- 32:33I barely have any dogs on the schedule and that's the reality.
- 32:36My creative side is going pretty well, but I just, I am so happy
- 32:40I don't have a training dog. I almost say this daily to
- 32:42Bobby. And so I overcompensate by like,
- 32:44what do you want for lunch? What do you want me to make for
- 32:46dinner? I like really tap into my
- 32:48housewife role in a, in a way that's like fun and not like
- 32:53he's holding me down or anything.
- 32:54I don't know. Is that what people think when
- 32:55they hear housewife? I don't know.
- 32:57No, OK. No, especially like I don't hear
- 33:00that all if they know Bobby. No, he'd be more of the
- 33:04housewife than than you are. And she was.
- 33:09Pissing for me. What's that?
- 33:11Yeah, picking up after me and bringing me coffee in the
- 33:14morning. Picking my alarm.
- 33:16That I went just just in the gym, like putting some away.
- 33:19Yeah, no. OK, so.
- 33:22But yeah, I was literally thinking like, I could go on for
- 33:26a while not training dogs. That's how I'm, I'm currently
- 33:29feeling. And I think it's maybe from
- 33:31feeling overwhelmed with like life stuff that have has
- 33:34happened. But I'm literally like, and I
- 33:36would say this to Bobby when we were on the porch this morning
- 33:39and I was like, I'm sure this will like go away and in maybe a
- 33:42month or something I'll be excited about training a dog.
- 33:44But right now I'm like, I would like to do anything other than
- 33:47that. Yeah.
- 33:48Yeah. So that's how that's where that
- 33:49came from. And is that something that you
- 33:51guys feel comfortable with and can do?
- 33:54Yep. Well then, what's your best
- 33:57life? Well, I mean, because I like
- 33:59making money. So for me it's more leaning into
- 34:02the creative stuff. And it would have to like, I
- 34:05don't know, like I have a boarding dog in right now,
- 34:07Chester Golden Retriever, who is a dream.
- 34:11Like if every dog I worked with was like him, I would just be in
- 34:14heaven. So then there's that, like,
- 34:17those are little reminders where, you know, not all dogs
- 34:20are really challenging. Yeah.
- 34:22Yeah. But so right now it's totally
- 34:24fine. It's just it's nice Bobby has a
- 34:26job and all of that. But I also like feeling
- 34:31purposeful and like, so working on creative stuff is more what
- 34:36I'm doing. Yeah.
- 34:37Totally. All right, So you're not
- 34:38actually quitting, but like you're just, you just felt like
- 34:41in that moment and. That's why we just can't help
- 34:44but say things out loud that I'm thinking.
- 34:46And I was thinking about, you know, how Casey was like, which
- 34:48I still, I still think about and giggle to myself in a way that's
- 34:52very loving and not like laughing at him, but like you
- 34:55were like, you don't have to make an alert like it's OK,
- 34:59which I love. I, I realized I think sometimes
- 35:03some like for myself, sometimes when I say something out loud
- 35:06that maybe most people wouldn't one, I'm fighting against the
- 35:09version of myself that never shared anything and always
- 35:11wanted to come across a certain way or whatever.
- 35:16I'm like, I really want to fight that person and just like, I'm
- 35:19going to say whatever and if you don't like, you don't like it.
- 35:22Also, I'm not trying to be like the perfect dog trainer or
- 35:25anything like that. So that kind of helps with that
- 35:28storyline. And the other part is when I say
- 35:30something out loud, it kind of holds me to it.
- 35:32So I was thinking about him with like Instagram and I was like,
- 35:35Oh yeah, I mean, I've done that before with Dog trainer Creative
- 35:39where I'm like, I'm gonna post more or you look forward to
- 35:41seeing me here more often and then I don't.
- 35:43Show up. Oh I've totally done that as
- 35:45well. It's just hilarious.
- 35:47The thing about it is like obviously you have the 2 pages
- 35:50but like you are the most consistent of posting on walking
- 35:52dog like. It's.
- 35:54Rare that you're not posting. So like, if you were to post
- 35:59like I'm gonna be posting more on dog trainer creative, I'm
- 36:01like, that doesn't seem weird to me.
- 36:04But if he were to, he was going to make an actual reel, not even
- 36:06like in a story. We were making a reel to
- 36:09announce this. And to me, I'm like, OK, when
- 36:12when was the last time you posted a reel just like that was
- 36:16something that you created for your page that wasn't like, and
- 36:19again, it it's not his page is different from a standpoint of
- 36:23like he's doing a lot of creating for other people.
- 36:25So it's like if he's not posting it on his or whatever, that's
- 36:29fine, whatever. But yeah, I was just like, we
- 36:32don't need to like everyone that we're going to be posting more
- 36:35content, which we've not done. I.
- 36:38Just love that so much. There's so many moments where
- 36:40it's like you really want to do the thing or like I think right
- 36:45now I'm in, I don't know, like it's not a phase.
- 36:48It's just today this is how I'm feeling where I don't want to do
- 36:52things where I feel like I'm forcing it.
- 36:54Now there are times where if I have a training dog in, we know
- 36:56it's like not always easy and I'm not looking for easy.
- 37:00But it is more like like 2 of my friends who are trainers who,
- 37:03you know, just asked me if I would take pictures for them for
- 37:08their website. And at first I was like, no.
- 37:12But then I thought, well it's gonna be fun like something
- 37:14different and why not? But I I don't like whenever I
- 37:19try to force something. Either it's a creative idea for
- 37:22like a guide or whatever or something I should be doing more
- 37:26often like dog trainer creative. I have a hard time sticking with
- 37:30it when it's like something I should be doing instead of
- 37:32something that I actually want to do.
- 37:35Yeah, yeah, I totally get that. OK, The other question or no,
- 37:41the other thing that I wanted to bring up that I was thinking
- 37:44about, so I don't know, something on my algorithm
- 37:47started giving me a bunch of Jersey Shore people again.
- 37:50Do you remember when Casey and I were like watching Jersey Shore
- 37:53back like all the seasons and we were like obsessed with it?
- 37:57Yes. OK, so I was thinking about
- 38:01because something on Pauly D came up on my feed the other day
- 38:05and I was literally geeking out thinking about the fact that you
- 38:08were saying that Bobby wears popped collars.
- 38:12Hate. But he doesn't.
- 38:15They are. I am so with Bobby on this one.
- 38:18No, they are the 1 you showed me.
- 38:20It's like they have cardboard inside the pop collar.
- 38:25Bobby's listening. He just walked by, smiled at me
- 38:28sideways. I'm I'm on Team Bobby for this
- 38:31one. No, I don't like it's.
- 38:32It's a collar that is popped upward instead of laying flat.
- 38:35Correct, but he's not wearing popped collars.
- 38:38I didn't know there was an actual term like.
- 38:41No. OK, so with it.
- 38:42So the no, the thing that I think about when you're like
- 38:45Bobby's been wearing popped collars.
- 38:47Like for instance, this is the type of shirt Bobby was wearing.
- 38:51Like it has this. Little.
- 38:52Yeah, so can you. It can pop it upward.
- 38:54This is like as much as it goes up, but like it's technically
- 38:56up. No, but I'm not popping my
- 38:58collar. He pops it.
- 39:01No, OK, but this is the way that I envisioned it.
- 39:04And I bet you people please comment and tell me what you
- 39:07think about. OK, When you think of a popped
- 39:09collar, I think of someone wearing like a button down shirt
- 39:14that has a collar that should be like down.
- 39:16You could put a tie under it or something.
- 39:18And that person pops it up and it's like a big popped collar
- 39:22around their neck. And it reminds me of like Pauly
- 39:25D because when they were younger, he used to like pop his
- 39:28collars when they're going out. Cap Zahia.
- 39:31And so then I'm thinking Bobby is wearing popped collars out in
- 39:38public with you like I. Know.
- 39:40Let's I know, but you're saying I know he's not doing.
- 39:44That, to me, he is. You guys.
- 39:46As this one hates a long sleeve top from lululemon where the
- 39:50collar should lay flat. Exactly.
- 39:52Athleisure. It's an it's not.
- 39:54OK, He points it towards the sky.
- 39:56I don't want OK, but it's more. So what his would be considered
- 40:01is more of like a mock collar. OK, well I hate a mock college.
- 40:05OK, there you go. I did not know that was a term,
- 40:08but here we are. All I'm thinking is literally
- 40:11Polly D and Bobby next to each other going out on the.
- 40:15Floor. I would cut those off at some
- 40:18point. I hate it and I've told him like
- 40:2225 times I don't like this and I, I know there's and also, but
- 40:26I tell him, but you can't tell me you don't like anything I'm
- 40:28wearing. By the way, this is whatever.
- 40:30But like like I have this one green sweater that I love
- 40:33because it is the perfect fit. It's not too long, not too
- 40:36short. It's light enough where I can
- 40:38wear it when it's not cold out. I'm not trying to protect myself
- 40:42from the weather, but it to me, it's cute to me in my mind.
- 40:46And he would have never told you about that Aunt Judy jacket.
- 40:50No, because he knows. Hearing about when you talk
- 40:52about jackets for the past nine days.
- 40:55Thank goodness I visited. Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 40:58Which I do have a picture of me in it, but I don't want to post
- 41:00it because someone asks like did you see the you can't see the
- 41:03comments. I sent it to you, didn't I?
- 41:04Where she was like, I wish we could have a a like a showing of
- 41:08the jacket. Oh, I didn't see that comment.
- 41:11Oh and I agree if I post it like what if 10 people love it?
- 41:16I don't want to offend like let's just imagine what this.
- 41:19Jacket looks like it's not a bad jacket at all.
- 41:21No, it's just. It just wasn't.
- 41:22It was not you. And we're calling it Aunt Judy,
- 41:25just like my rings, Brenda. There's nothing against Brenda.
- 41:28There's nothing against Aunt Judy.
- 41:29OK, that's true. Yeah, like again, I don't.
- 41:32I don't care. I don't like a mock collar.
- 41:34I want it flat because I love when he wears the the long
- 41:37sleeve top where it's like no collar.
- 41:40It's great. I just, I have this like weird
- 41:42thing about guys that pop their collar.
- 41:44It's almost and I really hope you have no one in your life
- 41:47that drives this car. But I have a theory.
- 41:49OK. Do you know anyone that drives a
- 41:51Mustang? No.
- 41:52Oh good, thank God. OK, so my theory is anyone who
- 41:56drives a Mustang, especially guys, they're douches.
- 42:02They're just like they are trying to be way too flashy.
- 42:05Yeah, it doesn't mesh. It's like.
- 42:08Thank goodness Bobby has you, because he his dream car's a
- 42:11Porsche, right? And he wants it to be like a
- 42:12bright color. No, that's where I'm with you.
- 42:16Well, yeah, when he points out like a lime green portion, oh,
- 42:19look at that. I'm like bark nauseous.
- 42:22Yeah. Yeah, like that yellow
- 42:23Lamborghini going down Park Ave. Casey wants to go hang out
- 42:26there. I remember when we went by, it
- 42:29was this fancy car place, the Aston Martin car store, but we
- 42:33drove past you. I think Casey was sitting in the
- 42:36front seat with me and he was like, oh, that's a nice, I like
- 42:39blue in that and that or something.
- 42:41He was like, you were like, what?
- 42:42You want a sport? You like a sports car.
- 42:43You don't like sports cars. He was like, if I had a sports
- 42:46car, I'd want it in that color. And you were like, Oh my God.
- 42:49Thank goodness we're never getting a sports car.
- 42:51He's still driving his Subaru like Forster, which is nothing
- 42:53wrong with it, but like he's the least.
- 42:55That's one thing I will say, like, I think it's a funny thing
- 42:59and also like a very endearing quality of his is, you know,
- 43:02like some people, and I do see it like with men or like
- 43:05especially around here, like really like their trucks or, you
- 43:07know, are very particular about like what kind of car they
- 43:10drive. Casey could care less.
- 43:12He could. I mean, he could careless what
- 43:14phone he has. He does not need the latest and
- 43:16greatest of anything technology That's very different with like
- 43:19Bobby such a tech guy. Oh yeah.
- 43:21Where he wants like the new like Casey's literally like I, I
- 43:24could, I want a flip phone. Like genuinely, I think he would
- 43:27be so pleased to have a flip phone.
- 43:31Well, that's what makes it even more hilarious and wonderful
- 43:35when he put on that hat and he was in Park Ave. mode.
- 43:40He's. Wearing his canine hat that he
- 43:43wears all the time, but it's how he put it on his head then.
- 43:47It was popped up a. Little Oh yeah, he had it
- 43:49sitting a little higher, which is totally bro.
- 43:51Yeah, yeah, yeah, like, yeah, he would probably look.
- 43:53I actually kind of like when he wears it like that, but like
- 43:55he's totally like looking like a bro.
- 43:58And it was all because vibes were going.
- 44:00That was the only reason we had it that way.
- 44:04It's so good. So much OK.
- 44:06One other story I had for you is, again, this has nothing to
- 44:09do with anything, and you don't even know these people, so I
- 44:11don't know if you'll think it's funny, but Casey told me it.
- 44:13So he got back from Phoenix late on Saturday night and he was
- 44:17telling me yesterday that he's like, Oh my gosh, I have a funny
- 44:22story. So his parents were flying
- 44:24somewhere and his dad has this jacket that he like won.
- 44:29And the brand is like Ariat. I don't know if you've ever seen
- 44:31it. It's like a no, it's Ariat.
- 44:36It's kind of like, I think it's like a hunting brand or
- 44:38something like that. I don't know.
- 44:39He just won the jacket. Like it's a nice enough jacket,
- 44:42but he wouldn't have like bought it.
- 44:43And it has a concealed carry area in it.
- 44:46It has like a little tag in it that like says something like
- 44:49concealed carry. His dad doesn't own a gun.
- 44:52He's the least like he's not a he's not concealed carry, but
- 44:56and it doesn't like you're not wearing the jacket and it looks
- 44:58like. Doesn't say like gun goes here.
- 45:01No, no, I would have never known.
- 45:03I've seen the jacket looks kind of like a North Face type, like
- 45:06lighter weight type jacket. But they're heading to somewhere
- 45:14and he goes to the bathroom on the plane.
- 45:16He comes out and the flight attendant's waiting right there.
- 45:18And he's like, Sir, do you have a gun?
- 45:20And Casey's dad's like, what? No.
- 45:26And so he's like, no, I don't have a gun.
- 45:29Like, I'm on an airplane. And the flight attendant is
- 45:32asking him if he has a gun. He must have when he got up the
- 45:37tag. That's like in the concealed
- 45:39carry thing fell out of his jacket and the flight attendant
- 45:43must have found it, said something like concealed carried
- 45:45and it came from him. Oh my God.
- 45:49So Caseys dad is like again, the reason it's so funny is like
- 45:54he's doesn't have a gun. Like he's not that kind of
- 45:57person, which I don't know what that kind of person is, but like
- 46:00he's just like the least likely on the plane to have a gun like
- 46:02a concealed carry and you're not even allowed to do concealed
- 46:05carry on an airplane like. Scan you for things.
- 46:08Right. So but the reason he's like, no,
- 46:10I don't have a gun. She's like, oh, OK.
- 46:12Like just sometimes we have air marshals on the flight and she's
- 46:15we didn't know if you were an air Marshall and I saw like your
- 46:17concealed carry thing fell out of your pocket.
- 46:20Bernie's just like, Nope, not an air Marshall.
- 46:23This jacket I won. Like I don't, I don't even have
- 46:25a gun. Like but like the so then he
- 46:29went back and sat next to Casey's mom and she was like,
- 46:31and he's like flight attendant asked me if I had a gun and
- 46:34she's like, what do you mean she asked you if you had a gun?
- 46:39Oh my God. I know, I thought that was so
- 46:40funny and like so random. The fact that that little tag
- 46:43fell out. That is so random Oh my God.
- 46:47His parents watch the farm show. Clarkson's Farm, Casey when they
- 46:53went there he had his parents and then his brother and her his
- 46:56fiance were there all Watch episode 1.
- 46:59Oh, really? Did I also tell you that Casey
- 47:01has us rewatching it because we finished, excuse me, season
- 47:04through season 4? He did.
- 47:07Now we're rewatching. Love.
- 47:09That yeah, but we're definitely gonna skip the Piglet episode.
- 47:12Oh yeah, skipped. That was.
- 47:15Rude to right? Season 2 or three, yeah.
- 47:18That was brutal. But it's interesting when you
- 47:19rewatch, which was this the second time you guys did rewatch
- 47:22with us or have you watched us a ton?
- 47:25How long has it been out? Oh my God I've watched it like
- 47:2717 times. Oh my gosh.
- 47:29OK. But so we're obviously only on
- 47:31the second time, but literally back-to-back rewatching it, we
- 47:34didn't even take a break. How many things that I've like
- 47:38missed or forgotten because now you know the characters so much
- 47:41even though they're real people. But so now like re watching it
- 47:44for the second time I'm like I feel like I'm re watching it for
- 47:47the first time I. Love that.
- 47:49Have you seen the mushroom part? Well yeah, cuz we which mushroom
- 47:53part? Where he has them, like in his
- 47:56little. Yes.
- 47:57Did you see the one where OK this is something no one would
- 48:00know about me and I'm I'm pretty sure I told you all but you
- 48:02might have misinterpreted it. I don't know cuz I made it sound
- 48:06like okay so anyway So what? So I think one of the most
- 48:10hilarious things in the entire world is when someone is about
- 48:13to vomit. You thought that with Casey, he
- 48:17was carsick. Yes, well, I felt bad kind of,
- 48:21though he didn't do like the heaving.
- 48:23It's when someone is like. Yeah, yeah, I think.
- 48:26That is the funniest. Thing.
- 48:27Oh my God, yes. So the one I don't like when
- 48:30someone actually vomits. That's disgusting.
- 48:32That would be like. A whole other thing, no?
- 48:34I agree. It was, yeah.
- 48:37The one in with the mushrooms where he like goes in and he
- 48:40looks in the tube and he almost throws up in his mask.
- 48:43Yeah, we were both case and they were both cracking up on that.
- 48:47That's the difference. It's like he was legitimately
- 48:49like gagging. Like when someone, Oh my God,
- 48:51it's similar if someone's like opening up a diaper or a garbage
- 48:54bag and they're like, it's like so funny.
- 48:57Have anyone seen the show? Have you seen the show Friends
- 48:59from College? That's really funny.
- 49:02I like the humor in it. But there's this one episode
- 49:06where they they see like a skunk in the forest, so it does the
- 49:11air thing or whatever, the stinky stuff, and then they all
- 49:13almost automatically start like peeving and like they all do at
- 49:17the same time. And then one actually throws up
- 49:19for two of them. But I rewound and watched it 10
- 49:21times because it was so hilarious.
- 49:23Well, it. Was kind of similar, which just
- 49:24wasn't them kind of gagging, but the chili when they were making
- 49:27the salsa or whatever. Oh.
- 49:29Yes, that was so fun. They're all like gasping for
- 49:32air, which sounds so mean to say.
- 49:33That's funny, but it's hilarious.
- 49:36When they were cooking it and then they all start coughing.
- 49:38Yes, yes. Oh my gosh.
- 49:41Can we ask you another question? Sure.
- 49:42And I also have a follow up from I got to pull it up.
- 49:47So the Q&A episode that we did where we had a lot of questions
- 49:50from other trainers. Oh, yes.
- 49:53OK. So do you remember the one
- 49:54asking us about the red flags with clients, the one with the
- 50:01two dogs where she ended up rehoming one of them?
- 50:05OK, so she ended up responding to me on Instagram and this was
- 50:10her feedback. So she said I came this was you
- 50:15know before actually bringing the dogs on for the board and
- 50:17train. She said I came out and did 2
- 50:19sessions prior to the board and trains because she was really
- 50:21struggling and could barely wait the six weeks to start.
- 50:24So I gave her homework and management tips.
- 50:26She didn't listen or do any of it and on drop off she told me I
- 50:31wanted you to be the bad guy first by giving them some rules
- 50:33prior. Oh, red flag.
- 50:35Red flag. Yeah, and she goes then during
- 50:37the board and train. So she's still.
- 50:39Again, this is nothing against the trainer.
- 50:41Whatever. But like that would have been no
- 50:43right? Like I would not have been
- 50:45trained the dogs and then then during the board and train she
- 50:48made comments on how they look sad and they weren't playing
- 50:51outside but that's because it was -4° outside and they were
- 50:54not. They were cold and not outside
- 50:55long enough to play. She didn't seem to care about
- 50:58tools much or crate or structure.
- 50:59But she did not like that I said no bed or blankets in the crate
- 51:03because they kept destroying one and would poop and pee on it.
- 51:06So yeah, handful of odd comments.
- 51:08In hindsight, it's better, but, well, no.
- 51:11I'm always hopeful owners will see the benefits and stick with
- 51:13it. Yeah, so that reminds me of
- 51:15that. You're such a fool owner I
- 51:16worked with. Yes, Yep.
- 51:18Like, OK, wow, OK, well that gives a much clearer picture.
- 51:21Yes, so I was glad that she gave that context too, because that's
- 51:26one of those things where again, I get the concept of like
- 51:29wanting to help and stuff like that, but you can't help with
- 51:32what doesn't want to be helped. Like she didn't, she didn't want
- 51:35help. She wanted a fix and she wanted
- 51:39someone to be the bad. Like that's where it's like that
- 51:43mentality of training means you have to be bad and like mean to
- 51:48your to your dog is ridiculous. And that doesn't mean that
- 51:54there's always easy moments that are the easiest, even for the
- 51:57human or us as a trainer to have to follow through on.
- 51:59But like if being mean means that they don't get a blanket in
- 52:04their crate, I can't. No, I think that's just like so
- 52:08many people. I don't because I don't think
- 52:10there's anything wrong with viewing your dogs as like your
- 52:12kids or what. I think that's like context.
- 52:15Sure, I think of Johnny as my little baby Angel, but he's also
- 52:18a dog. And you also have no problem
- 52:20with him sleeping on a Primo pad in a crate.
- 52:23No, no, no. Yeah.
- 52:24So I just think some people are way to that side.
- 52:28I mean. Oh my God, I would say I have
- 52:32phenomenal owners and I would even say a lot of my owners baby
- 52:35their dogs way too much, Way, way, way too much.
- 52:38But like I'm gonna pick my battles like it's the craziness.
- 52:42I will say is like, and I get it, my dogs both Rhodie is and
- 52:46again, it's a different, it's not the same.
- 52:50He's like truly needs warmth for him to be comfortable and like
- 52:55he's got health stuff. So like he can't have anything
- 52:58without a blanket, but he doesn't poop on stuff.
- 53:02He doesn't tear things up. He doesn't do anything naughty
- 53:06anymore. Does he have his little moments
- 53:08of being like, I still got that dog in me?
- 53:10Yes. But also it's like stop it.
- 53:12Like don't do that. I don't even need to justify
- 53:15that. I don't even.
- 53:16Need to no I I have no. Complaint to him, my dog.
- 53:19Barked when he was here. What's that?
- 53:21I was proud of him when he barked.
- 53:22It was kind of like when I see Johnny barked and I'm like, Oh
- 53:25my God, that's so cute because it's in relation to what
- 53:27actually is going on. It's kind of like if he's.
- 53:30Laying on his side barking at the pool man.
- 53:34I'm like, it's not like our dogs don't listen to us.
- 53:37I think that's the biggest thing.
- 53:38Like where I'd it's if your dog is being pushy with you, let's
- 53:43say on the walk with something, then life will look a little bit
- 53:48different than it does for an owner who is not struggling with
- 53:50their dog, whose dog is actually listening to them.
- 53:52Like it's so interesting where I don't know what when it was, I
- 53:55think it was when I got Johnny where I started sharing more of
- 53:59him on the couch. Where before that as a trainer
- 54:01on what I share on social media, I was very careful about what I
- 54:04shared because I didn't want to send the message of everyone
- 54:06should have their dog on the couch and all of that.
- 54:09Where I think it's it's not always the same for every single
- 54:15person and it's not always going to be super structured for every
- 54:18single dog, but some dogs, they really need it.
- 54:21It's helpful. They yes, genuinely need it and
- 54:25like, thrive on it, even if it doesn't necessarily seem that
- 54:28way right off the bat. Yeah, one example that I thought
- 54:31was so fascinating and it's just kind of points to how training
- 54:35doesn't equal your being mean or whatever, like at the trainer
- 54:38and you when you were doing the hands on stuff with Johnny and
- 54:42how he actually liked you more. He was obsessed with me after
- 54:46that. Yes, after you did a session
- 54:48with him of getting him on to place, saying no, getting him
- 54:50off when he'd get off or when he'd try to come to me.
- 54:53Yes, that was the biggest thing is I removed his comfort zone of
- 54:57access to you and all I did when I say I'm removed, that is he
- 55:00wanted to kind of like scurry over and pull up to Bethany and
- 55:03I disagreed with that and had him come back over by me.
- 55:07And after that like that was like, yeah, he once in a while,
- 55:11especially if Casey came out with me, would kind of look at
- 55:13like, oh, who are you? But after that it was like
- 55:15Jenny. And then he would like wiggle
- 55:17butt over by me or want to sit with me on the couch or zoomy
- 55:20with me like and that was all post that.
- 55:23It's like dogs crave leadership and it doesn't have to be like
- 55:26an alpha thing. It's just.
- 55:28They also crave like steady, like the what's the word I'm
- 55:33looking for? It's like that to me was not an
- 55:36emotional response to him. I, I, I had no feeling of
- 55:39because I knew I was not doing anything negative to him.
- 55:41He might have felt like that in that moment.
- 55:43It felt a little negative of like I can't access my mom, but
- 55:46like it was just so confidently no, no, bud, we're not going to
- 55:50go over there right now. And then he's like, OK.
- 55:52She seems pretty comfy. And even even though Louis each
- 55:55time has gotten more comfortable even after that of me working
- 55:58with her in the crate stuff and not letting her access Bobby at
- 56:01that one point, she was obsessed with me after that too.
- 56:04I. Know it's so fun like I just I
- 56:07know a lot of owners think I know this is what it is because
- 56:11it's kind of like if I start doing something different
- 56:14nutritional, why Like when I was working with a personal trainer
- 56:17a while ago and he wanted me to eat a certain way and I was very
- 56:20skeptical like, no, I've heard so many things online that I
- 56:24should not be eating this way or you don't really know how a
- 56:26woman's body works or all these like little voices where I.
- 56:31And I think I was probably right but I could have tried it to see
- 56:35what happened. But I think a lot of owners they
- 56:38have those voices in their head of like if you tell your dog no
- 56:41then they're not going to love you anymore.
- 56:43Where we see all the time that it's just the total opposite.
- 56:46Yeah. Yeah.
- 56:47And then there's just like some dogs that it's like, I almost
- 56:51want to shake certain owners of like, I feel like they are
- 56:54genuinely like, and I say, I say this in a way that I'm actually
- 57:00really feeling for the owner is their dog.
- 57:04They care way more about their dog than their dog cares about
- 57:07them. And I don't say that to be a
- 57:09jerk. That doesn't mean your dog
- 57:10didn't love you. But like you are putting way
- 57:14more value on like my dog has three blankets in their crate.
- 57:19I'm getting them a treat every single time I go out somewhere.
- 57:23They're giving me bare minimum effort.
- 57:25And I'm still saying like, good job and then I will handle a dog
- 57:31or something. And they're giving me 10 times
- 57:33more effort. They are talk about.
- 57:35What that looks like? Can you like?
- 57:37Yeah, So how I see it with an owner is First off, I don't even
- 57:43talk need to talk about my own dogs.
- 57:44I'm not even going to say that because I'm going to say like my
- 57:46dogs live a cushy life, but they also can be totally fine without
- 57:50having a cushy life, if that makes sense.
- 57:53Is I see like dogs in homes that revolve around their every
- 57:59moment. That doesn't always mean like
- 58:00that the owners constantly entertaining them like that
- 58:03might mean that the owners doing place halves them in their
- 58:07crates, but it's literally like the crate is their castle and
- 58:13it's done up so and again, I don't care if a dog is
- 58:16comfortable. That's not I, I want them to be
- 58:18comfortable, but they don't need every little thing you can
- 58:20possibly think of or every single time we get done with
- 58:23something we need to like give them a treat for it.
- 58:26Or you're on place and Oh my gosh, you've been on place for
- 58:29an hour and a half. So let me make sure you have a
- 58:31nice chew toy or something to lick or like just giving,
- 58:36giving, giving and the dog gives no effort back.
- 58:40OK, So what do you mean by that? Like getting out of the car and
- 58:45they're immediately trying to like put pressure and drag on
- 58:47the leash. Or they're in the car and they
- 58:49know that they need to be in a down and they're popping up and
- 58:51their owner's asking for the down and they're like, make me.
- 58:54Like being pushy. Yes, being pushy about
- 58:56everything and but then this owner this is.
- 59:01I see this a lot. I'm not talking about one
- 59:03specific owner, but literally gives this dog way too much time
- 59:07a day. Above and beyond.
- 59:09A way and above and beyond in a way that's slightly toxic of
- 59:12like this, your dog is never going to take it seriously when
- 59:15they literally don't have to want for anything.
- 59:19They don't need to want for your affection.
- 59:20They don't need to want for any sort of attention.
- 59:23And I'm not saying make them want for something in a creepy
- 59:25way of like withhold their food or anything like that, but like,
- 59:28yeah, give them a little less of you like make them work for
- 59:32your. When I have dogs come in that
- 59:33are that kind of MO, I'm not cuddling with those dogs.
- 59:37I'm giving them good. I might give you a little
- 59:40scratch into the chin or while I'm putting your E collar on a
- 59:42little rub on the ears. But like you also need to earn.
- 59:45Like I'm not going to be babying you and coddling and comforting
- 59:51you when I know every, even if a dog struggles with something,
- 59:55they come from a space of having like insecurities around other
- 59:58dogs on the leash or fearfulness of something.
- 1:00:01Like if you are not giving effort, I am not giving you any
- 1:00:06extra except for clear direction.
- 1:00:09And that's where we're ending. It is like you're getting clear
- 1:00:12direction from me. I'm not.
- 1:00:14I'm not doing extra. I'm going to make sure all of
- 1:00:16your needs are met. Does that make?
- 1:00:17Sense. Oh yeah, it's like a reciprocal
- 1:00:20relationship, which I do not think people think of what I
- 1:00:22think of having a dog. There are so many toxic dynamics
- 1:00:25between dogs and owners, and I don't think it's just an owner
- 1:00:29thing. And again, a dog's not looking
- 1:00:30at it that way. Like, let me manipulate this
- 1:00:32person. They just look as I can.
- 1:00:34Well, you know, 11 saying I don't know if it was you or
- 1:00:38another trainer. I think it was you because I'm
- 1:00:40pretty sure, I think it was when I called you about when I was
- 1:00:42working with years ago, this little Jack Russell terrier.
- 1:00:47And I was really struggling with her in the back of the car being
- 1:00:51super whiny. And so you were helping give
- 1:00:53advice on what to do. And something you mentioned was,
- 1:00:58well, The thing is either you said or someone else, you know,
- 1:01:02she's like being really pushy, right?
- 1:01:04Or something like that. Where it was kind of, it flipped
- 1:01:06my perspective where I think I was thinking more like an owner
- 1:01:09where it's, I mean, we're, we're soft with dogs, we're loving and
- 1:01:12all of that. But there's also a piece of us
- 1:01:14that's like we see things in dogs that owners don't where
- 1:01:19it's little things where if an owner sees a dog in the car,
- 1:01:22like not laying down when I asked or something, or I think
- 1:01:26some owners think it's something they're doing wrong where it's,
- 1:01:30I mean, that really changed a lot for me when I started to
- 1:01:32look at situations like, Oh no, the dog is being really pushy
- 1:01:35where I was saying that to an owner not too long ago on a
- 1:01:38virtual call where she was describing the situation in a
- 1:01:41very like emotional way. Always.
- 1:01:44And so when you are coming from that place, it's really hard to
- 1:01:47say no to certain things or be super structured when you're
- 1:01:50coming from an emotional space. When I was like, I was hearing
- 1:01:53everything she was saying and I was like, you know, Jeffrey, I
- 1:01:56don't know that was being, he's being really pushy.
- 1:02:00And I think that it will help you to look at that situation in
- 1:02:03that way so you can really come at it from a more practical
- 1:02:07mindset of you don't have to like coddle him to get him to be
- 1:02:11better. But it's more looking at it
- 1:02:12like, no, he's just being really pushy and.
- 1:02:14Super clear in that moment. Yes, I think it makes it a
- 1:02:17little easier to be clear when you can see it from that
- 1:02:19standpoint, because I think when you have a dog and or I do and
- 1:02:23we see certain things, we're like, oh, he's being so pushy.
- 1:02:26It helps us go at it from a different angle than an owner.
- 1:02:30And I think I see it quite often too, because I do my pack walks.
- 1:02:33Yeah. And again, all the pack, all the
- 1:02:35owners that come for pack walks are the ones that try so
- 1:02:37freaking hard. Yes.
- 1:02:39And I see, we'll see certain dogs.
- 1:02:40And the dogs are actually pissing me off because I'm like,
- 1:02:42I know you are much more capable and the owners trying really
- 1:02:46hard and they're giving their owner a hell of a time.
- 1:02:49Yeah. And those are the ones that I'm
- 1:02:50like, you guys like that. I want to say it's like those
- 1:02:55little dogs that I'm like, I swear they're in their head.
- 1:02:57Like I can manipulate this person even though they're not.
- 1:02:59That's, you know, humanizing the situation.
- 1:03:01But yeah, it's just, it's wild. And it's always funny too
- 1:03:06because like, I obviously spend majority of the time with the
- 1:03:08dogs when they're here. But like, Casey does all the
- 1:03:10first and last outs. And so he really gets to know
- 1:03:12the personalities. But it's kind of nice because he
- 1:03:14gets to interact with them in the ways that it's going to be
- 1:03:17like the typical daily routines for dogs and owners, like seeing
- 1:03:22them first thing in the morning, seeing them, you know, last
- 1:03:25thing at night. And he will, he knows it.
- 1:03:28He's like that dog's me, really pushy at home or that they're
- 1:03:30going to struggle with us at home.
- 1:03:32And Georgia, the Great Dane is one of those of like she when
- 1:03:35she's out of her crate and doing stuff, she's the easiest to work
- 1:03:39without of the crew that I have right now.
- 1:03:41She loves it. She's sweet as pie.
- 1:03:43She's so fun. But with Casey, he told me this
- 1:03:46last night and I didn't realize this.
- 1:03:48She doesn't do this with me if he doesn't have her E collar on
- 1:03:52because this crew, I will say like if we're just going out for
- 1:03:54potty breaks and stuff, I can just pop them out there without
- 1:03:56their E collars on right now and they're listening beautifully.
- 1:03:59If he doesn't have the E collar on her to come in for last outs,
- 1:04:03she will come in, but then she won't go to her crate.
- 1:04:06She'll look at him like, no, I'm not going.
- 1:04:08She tried running upstairs to the upstairs portion of the
- 1:04:10kennel room. So Casey's like, so I had to
- 1:04:12walk up there and he's like, I'm not going to just keep yelling
- 1:04:14and like her not come. So went and leashed her up and
- 1:04:18brought her down and he's like, so now what do I do?
- 1:04:19Every single time I put her on her E collar so I can hold her
- 1:04:23accountable. And I'm like, it's funny because
- 1:04:25she doesn't do that with me. Like I can put her right into
- 1:04:28the kennel, but that's because I'm having every interaction
- 1:04:31with her daily. She's giving me any sort of like
- 1:04:33pushback or whatever. I'm staying consistent and clear
- 1:04:35with it and it's no big deal. Yeah, that's like an owner I
- 1:04:41worked with Hazel's owner who you were here when Hazel was
- 1:04:43here part of the time. And she mentioned something
- 1:04:47about because I did a episode on different podcasts and she was
- 1:04:53like, oh, this is helpful to hear because Hazel's been
- 1:04:57barking and not listening to recall when she's in the
- 1:04:59backyard. And I was like, OK, yeah.
- 1:05:01I mean, I totally see that. I don't know if the E collars on
- 1:05:06in these moments like stuff like that where I think it's just
- 1:05:09like Casey going up, getting the leash, putting her back in and
- 1:05:12knowing OK, from now on I got to put the E collar on it's.
- 1:05:14One extra step that we need to take, which is not that big of a
- 1:05:16deal. Yes, I think.
- 1:05:18And she had to get corrected for it, he said.
- 1:05:20I had to correct her pretty high the first time.
- 1:05:22She and then has not had an issue since.
- 1:05:24Yes, it's really simple. Yeah.
- 1:05:27Even like with a dog like Hazel. Well, then it's not just going
- 1:05:30to be easy with like, letting a dog off in the backyard, not
- 1:05:33having a leash on. Like you need to set it up so
- 1:05:36that when she doesn't recall to you, you can provide a
- 1:05:39correction for that, add clarity, and then it will just
- 1:05:42feel so different. I just think a lot of people try
- 1:05:44to get from A-Z, even though sometimes I think especially
- 1:05:49after a board and train, it can feel very kind of easier because
- 1:05:52the dog is listening. They're in that routine and then
- 1:05:54the loosey goosey stuff happens in small ways and then a dog
- 1:05:58isn't listening for some stuff and then you have to go back to
- 1:06:01B. And the thing I start seeing a
- 1:06:02lot, I don't know if you do, and I think it's again because I
- 1:06:06have more like the pack walks and stuff like that.
- 1:06:08I see a lot of my owners consistently and I do a lot of
- 1:06:12boarding, but is I find that we run into a lot of almost making
- 1:06:20excuses for their dog of like, so let's just use this example.
- 1:06:24I'm not even saying that this happened.
- 1:06:25The dog's not Downing in the backseat.
- 1:06:28The the dog knows they literally every single time they were in
- 1:06:30my car, they were in a down. They they're never sitting up in
- 1:06:33my car just because I like to practice that.
- 1:06:35Do I care if long term dogs are sitting and not causing any
- 1:06:38issues for their owners? No, but a lot of times that's
- 1:06:41not that. That's not the thing.
- 1:06:42So it's like, Oh well, they must have not wanted to lay down on
- 1:06:46this thing. Stop.
- 1:06:48Like why? OK, you're not asking to lay
- 1:06:52down on lava. Like once there's a bag they
- 1:06:54have to maneuver around like no, that I see a lot of like.
- 1:06:59Making. Little excuses for their dogs
- 1:07:01or, you know, say the dog didn't want to get his nails done that
- 1:07:05day or something like that. Oh, you know, maybe it's just
- 1:07:08because, you know, they needed to go outside and go potty.
- 1:07:11And I'm like, come, come on. I think this is something where,
- 1:07:16like, it depends on what people are prioritizing and
- 1:07:19unfortunately we know that those little things add up.
- 1:07:22And also it can be annoying 'cause it's like, you know how
- 1:07:24to do this. Like yes, don't be pushy in this
- 1:07:26moment. Yes, where an owner they let
- 1:07:29that slide and it's just like it's just not that important to
- 1:07:32me until something bad happens and they reach out for help and
- 1:07:36it's like, but it's it doesn't always have to get to that
- 1:07:39point. Like it's where an owner is
- 1:07:40coming to see me Friday. I'm really excited to hang out
- 1:07:44with her and her dog. I know it's going to be a lot of
- 1:07:48talking kind of like it's a therapy session, which is fine.
- 1:07:51Like I think a lot of times owners need that and I don't
- 1:07:56mind that. But it's how many times do you
- 1:07:58have to hear that to actually get it?
- 1:08:01And again, we can be there. I don't mind being there for her
- 1:08:04and I've gotten on phone calls with her and she's such a great
- 1:08:07owner and super supportive me and everything I do.
- 1:08:11But it'll be interesting to hear like after something happened
- 1:08:14before where her dog bit someone, how is the conversation
- 1:08:18going to go? Because that's more a situation
- 1:08:20like that makes it way more black and white.
- 1:08:22Then I don't work with dogs who are biting people.
- 1:08:25I don't work with human aggressive dogs.
- 1:08:27But I feel like that's going to kind of shift how serious the
- 1:08:31conversation is and more like little things are a big deal.
- 1:08:36You know, and we can't, like we can't continue to because I
- 1:08:42think you said that this dog was also one that bit for the second
- 1:08:45time. Like that's where sometimes we
- 1:08:47have to look in the mirror of like, or if I get certain owners
- 1:08:51or it's like my dog bit my child.
- 1:08:54Like I'm way less patient about something than like my dog
- 1:08:57reacted on the leash. Well, reactivity is it can truly
- 1:09:00be a super tough journey. Yeah.
- 1:09:02But like my question is how? Yeah.
- 1:09:06How? Uh huh.
- 1:09:08And that answer is hard to give. Like I know it's hard for an
- 1:09:13owner to have to say, but I think sometimes it's important
- 1:09:15for them to have a space to say it out loud where it's like, I'm
- 1:09:21not judging. I am questioning how because
- 1:09:24like I get we're all human. We all have, you know, so many
- 1:09:29things going on besides just making sure that we're doing
- 1:09:32right by our dogs training. Like I get that.
- 1:09:36But if there is a dog in a situation using kids, it's like,
- 1:09:41why are they not kenneled then if they if they need
- 1:09:44supervision? And I think every dog around a
- 1:09:46child should have supervision. And that's just me coming from a
- 1:09:49space of I have two dogs, even birdie that I would not have
- 1:09:53unattended around. She's not used to kids like I'm
- 1:09:55I just wouldn't that like that there would be no.
- 1:10:00How did that happen? Even if it meant that my dog had
- 1:10:03to get, you know, more kennel time than what they're used to
- 1:10:05or something like that. I think that that's something
- 1:10:08that we could like drill all day of some of the things where it's
- 1:10:11like we, we truly mean when we say you don't have to be perfect
- 1:10:15to get to a really great space with your dog.
- 1:10:18I truly believe that. But if you do find that it's
- 1:10:22like struggle after struggle after struggle and you know that
- 1:10:28your dog is capable and you've seen the capabilities of them to
- 1:10:31not struggle every single moment of the day or every walk or
- 1:10:37every like interaction. Then you have to check in like
- 1:10:41you have to check in with yourself and you have to check
- 1:10:43in with your lifestyle with your dog because there's something
- 1:10:47not clicking and it's not just your dog and it's not just you.
- 1:10:52It's, I'm sure combo of both of them.
- 1:10:56But yeah, I just feel like it's something where it's like we
- 1:10:59could talk about this until we're blue in the face and we'll
- 1:11:04still have job security. I need our help.
- 1:11:07Yeah, well, and I, I'm actually really looking forward to her
- 1:11:10coming here on Friday 1 because I really like her and she has
- 1:11:12mentioned before plenty of times like she knows it's her.
- 1:11:16So I think even just having a space where she can feel
- 1:11:19supported and reassured with it could be little things like I, I
- 1:11:23am excited. I feel like we are such nice
- 1:11:25people, by the way. I think so too.
- 1:11:28Why? Because I think there are
- 1:11:29trainers out there who would not be as supportive because the one
- 1:11:34thing like we're doing this podcast was because we want to
- 1:11:36keep in touch and literally my favorite day of the week now.
- 1:11:40And so, but another part is we do want to help owners.
- 1:11:43And I think this is the piece of it where separate from the dog
- 1:11:47training, there is that like emotional piece of it that I
- 1:11:51don't think we can talk about enough.
- 1:11:53And so it's kind of like with this owner on Friday, I can meet
- 1:11:57with her as many times as possible or get on the phone
- 1:12:00call or it's kind of like sharing stuff on Instagram.
- 1:12:03We can say the same things over and over and still some people
- 1:12:06still need to hear it. And I think that's just kind of
- 1:12:08how it is. Can I ask you a question before
- 1:12:10we get off? OK, What time?
- 1:12:12Oh, it's 111. Make a wish.
- 1:12:14OK, let's see. I have.
- 1:12:21OK. What's something you still feel
- 1:12:23insecure about as a trainer and. We answered this about
- 1:12:27ourselves, correct? Yes.
- 1:12:30OK. God, I have so many.
- 1:12:33Well, I guess I could answer it in multiple ways.
- 1:12:38Something that I can feel it and it'll be kind of like a, you
- 1:12:45know, dependent on the dog. But when I will have a situation
- 1:12:49with a dog that I feel like should be kind of like
- 1:12:52relatively straightforward and easy and it's just like they're
- 1:12:56not getting it. Like they're like still being
- 1:12:59really pushy on heel even though they're not like a pushy dog or
- 1:13:02they're like still breaking out of their downs.
- 1:13:04When I'm like, Oh my God, we've done this a bazillion time.
- 1:13:07So then I'll start to be like, what I do differently with this
- 1:13:09dog? Am I not mentally there?
- 1:13:11Am I not like giving them the same sort of like clarity and
- 1:13:14context? I actually have one dog in right
- 1:13:16now who's he's made such great progress, but he's making me a
- 1:13:19little insecure because he's an 8 month old golden.
- 1:13:21And I'm like his owner, I when I talked to her on the phone and
- 1:13:24stuff was like, yeah, I definitely didn't like see him
- 1:13:27as like insecure. And I, he's like one of the most
- 1:13:30insecure 8 month old like Golden's I've ever worked with,
- 1:13:33like afraid of everything and like she didn't like experience
- 1:13:38him that way. So me, I'm like, Oh my gosh,
- 1:13:40like that kind of can make me insecure.
- 1:13:42It's like an owner sees it so differently than what we do.
- 1:13:45So I'm really curious this week. I'll see them her Wednesday and
- 1:13:49then the full go home is on Thursday.
- 1:13:51Like if that'll bring out something different in him.
- 1:13:55And again, he's sweet as pie, but like so insecure.
- 1:13:57So that can make me insecure of like I'm experiencing a dog
- 1:14:01completely different than their owner and kind of in a negative
- 1:14:04way, if that makes sense. So we'll get some dogs that like
- 1:14:06don't react with us at all. And the owner's like, Oh my
- 1:14:09gosh, it's clearly me. And like the dog's doing amazing
- 1:14:12and so good. And then another dog will come
- 1:14:15in. It's like 8 month old golden,
- 1:14:17you know, I'm thinking easy peasy lemon squeezy.
- 1:14:20And I'm like, Oh my God. Like he's tougher to work with
- 1:14:25than like his 4 1/2 year old brother who I thought would be
- 1:14:27kind of stuck in his ways and like a need a little bit more.
- 1:14:32No, it's the complete opposite. So that can make me a little
- 1:14:34insecure sometimes of like, what am I doing that you're not
- 1:14:38getting it like that? You're not getting on.
- 1:14:40And then I have a lot of people, not a lot, but like I like even
- 1:14:43today, most of my virtual coaching sessions of recent have
- 1:14:46been with other trainers. So like even today I had one
- 1:14:51where they were talking about something like very behavioral
- 1:14:53that I was working on them through.
- 1:14:55And I'm like, so then I'll get in my head.
- 1:14:56I'm like, I have people paying me to give them advice.
- 1:14:59And it's like, there's still things I struggle with which
- 1:15:02you're going to, but I can get a little bit like in my head about
- 1:15:05that sometimes. Oh yeah.
- 1:15:06But honestly, I I can also talk myself through it of like, this
- 1:15:10is a different living being every single time we're handling
- 1:15:13a dog. Yeah, I love that.
- 1:15:15I like hearing about things you struggle with.
- 1:15:18Good and I'm definitely insecure when it comes to like on the
- 1:15:22social media side. I will say like I don't get
- 1:15:26super fixated on like followers or anything like that anymore.
- 1:15:30But like my engagement used to be and I think it was also
- 1:15:33because way less people were posting, you know, six years
- 1:15:36ago. But like all of my reels used to
- 1:15:38get at least 10,000 views and that sounds like, you know,
- 1:15:41bragging or but I'm I'm not. So it's like sometimes I'm like,
- 1:15:45what's the point of you been doing them when I'm like
- 1:15:47people's not people aren't seeing them.
- 1:15:49It's like, well, that's just also not true, but.
- 1:15:53I loved your graphic today. Thanks.
- 1:15:55Your sister did that. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:15:57So I've been having her do a lot of like old posts, the
- 1:16:00repurposing type thing of like give it a fresh vibe and fresh
- 1:16:03look and everything. So that muzzle one was one that
- 1:16:06I send to like all owners that are gonna have to muzzle
- 1:16:10condition prior. And there was also just like a
- 1:16:12popular one that I did probably about a year and a half ago.
- 1:16:15So yeah, she gave a nice fresh look and it looks so good.
- 1:16:18Love it. We should do some like collab
- 1:16:21reels. Yeah, I feel the same way about
- 1:16:23reels. I just don't like them.
- 1:16:24I love doing our collabs. So fun.
- 1:16:26I have an idea. Actually we could do one.
- 1:16:28Awesome. We have some cool stuff too that
- 1:16:30we're going to do. Casey has some ideas.
- 1:16:33So. OK.
- 1:16:35We'll see how and I get to like kind of lean into a little bit
- 1:16:37more of my I love being an actor.
- 1:16:40That's so fun. I might do some rants and I, I
- 1:16:43think I might encourage you to do some similar things where
- 1:16:46it's just kind of like. On board of the rant.
- 1:16:48OK, cuz if you think about it like I when I am scrolling
- 1:16:51sometimes I am very drawn to specific things.
- 1:16:55So I think about that like what am I drawn to and why?
- 1:16:58And like the rants are great because they seem very real and
- 1:17:01in a world that can feel kind of like fake and AI and like all
- 1:17:04that stuff. I, the thing I'm most drawn to
- 1:17:07is things that are different. And so that's also sometimes
- 1:17:10hard because it is so different. And so it can feel like, will
- 1:17:12anyone like this or. But I think if we give ourselves
- 1:17:17like a creative challenge, which I can come up with and we can
- 1:17:19do, and then it's a little more fun that way.
- 1:17:22Totally OK. What are you insecure about when
- 1:17:25it comes? To the list is long, not the
- 1:17:29creative side. That's my favorite.
- 1:17:32I think I'm a little insecure about right now how my waiting
- 1:17:40lists non existent. So I think that's something in
- 1:17:42the past I've always like correlated with well, I'm not a
- 1:17:45good dog trainer if I don't have a wait list or compared to other
- 1:17:49trainers. I mean, one of the first times
- 1:17:51we met and I had a panic attack that I didn't have a wait
- 1:17:53waiting list. So I think part of that where I
- 1:17:59kind of wish that I like when I'm talking with you and I'll be
- 1:18:04totally honest, where I know you're super supportive of me
- 1:18:07and whatever. But I'm a little self-conscious
- 1:18:10about the fact that I don't have to like hustle with board and
- 1:18:13train dogs or that I can send home a board and train dog and
- 1:18:17that I don't have another dog on the schedule until a few months
- 1:18:20from now. And that doesn't bother me.
- 1:18:22I kind of wish, part of me feels a little guilty about that, that
- 1:18:27I wish I did have that like, I don't know, like the the board
- 1:18:33and trains right now just to kind of back up the trainer part
- 1:18:37of me, even though I'm really loving leaning into the like
- 1:18:41books and whatever on like the trainery, but not the physical
- 1:18:46working with dogs. I think that's my biggest
- 1:18:48insecurity for sure. It's interesting because it's
- 1:18:50like a big insecurity, but also like what you wanna be doing
- 1:18:54also. Yes.
- 1:18:55So that's. Probably like conflicting in
- 1:18:57your own brain. Yes, 'cause I feel like it's,
- 1:19:01yeah, I feel like I should be having more dogs.
- 1:19:04But then the other part of me is like, I'm really happy not and
- 1:19:06there are still things I'm working on.
- 1:19:08Yeah, yeah, that's something that it's like a conflict.
- 1:19:12Totally. Yes.
- 1:19:12In my head. That's fair, yeah.
- 1:19:15That's cool. Well, I feel like we covered a
- 1:19:17lot of ground. Yes, one hour and 19 minutes.
- 1:19:22OK. All righty.
- 1:19:24Well, I'm going to go try to survive the the snowstorm, the
- 1:19:27apocalypse. OK, you know what I mean.
- 1:19:33We should maybe just give up on that and just end it with our
- 1:19:35like, I don't know how. Just end it.
- 1:19:39All right, talk to you soon. Oh, no, what?
- 1:19:42Never mind. I just got it.
- 1:19:45I just. It's not Wednesday.
- 1:19:46Never mind. Did you have a brain wave?
- 1:19:48What? Brain wave yes, No, never mind.
- 1:19:51I will talk to are you going to, you're going to post this for
- 1:19:53Wednesday though, right? Yeah, on Wednesday.
- 1:19:55OK, awesome. And your birthday.
- 1:19:57Yay 34. Happy early 34.
- 1:20:00Do you feel older? It's actually weird because on
- 1:20:03my notes we didn't get about get to it, I wrote feeling weird
- 1:20:07about your 34. Are you really so we can?
- 1:20:10Say that real quick. What?
- 1:20:11I just, I just, it feels like, and I mentioned this to you,
- 1:20:14like there's a lot of things that like, I don't know why 34
- 1:20:18going to 35 ish, you know, is making me put a lot of like
- 1:20:21thoughts and like what do I want in my personal life?
- 1:20:24What do I want in my business life?
- 1:20:25And I not, I don't know why this number is.
- 1:20:27And I think it's probably just like a biological clock is like,
- 1:20:29do I want a kid like that is like stressing me out And I'm
- 1:20:34like, I I feel like I shouldn't be putting that kind of stress
- 1:20:40on it. Then it's like doesn't even make
- 1:20:42the idea of thinking about it fun.
- 1:20:43I so like that's been like a big.
- 1:20:46Why you had that dream? That I ran over a top.
- 1:20:49I was going. To say that at the beginning,
- 1:20:51but I didn't know if you wanted to like.
- 1:20:52Yeah, no, that's OK. I just don't want like from a
- 1:20:55standpoint of, you know, I don't want opinions from people of
- 1:20:59like. Oh, you should or you shouldn't.
- 1:21:01Or why? Yeah.
- 1:21:02And if people have like stuff of like, you know, they relate or
- 1:21:06they've been there that, you know, that's different.
- 1:21:08But like everyone tells me, well, you'd never regret having
- 1:21:12one. Of course not like of course I
- 1:21:14wouldn't regret my child. Like I'm sure I would be
- 1:21:17obsessed, but there's certain aspects of my life I look at
- 1:21:20that I'm like, am I? It just makes me my thoughts are
- 1:21:24consumed by that of recent and it's almost.
- 1:21:27Decision. I know.
- 1:21:28And so then to me, I'm like, if there's so much that I'm like, I
- 1:21:32don't know, like do I? You know?
- 1:21:34So that's where I don't even know if I can get pregnant
- 1:21:35either. We've never tried.
- 1:21:37It's obviously very personal, but I don't care.
- 1:21:39It's my thing to share. And also I'm kind of like, if we
- 1:21:43did try and we didn't, I'd also be OK with that.
- 1:21:45Yeah. So I don't know.
- 1:21:47So that's where like going to year 34.
- 1:21:49I know that a lot of women do have children even later in life
- 1:21:53than that. But Casey and I will be married
- 1:21:55this year, 10 years. Like, I'm sure I've already had
- 1:21:58people be like, oh, I'm surprised you guys don't have
- 1:21:59kids yet. I'm sure there's like,
- 1:22:01assumptions of maybe we can't. Maybe, you know, we just haven't
- 1:22:05had the major urge at this point.
- 1:22:08So that's where it's like I've been feeling just I'm going to
- 1:22:12be 34. Oh my gosh.
- 1:22:14Like my biological clock is ticking.
- 1:22:16And yes, yeah. So that's.
- 1:22:19A big, big thing. So that makes sense why it would
- 1:22:21one show up in your dreams, which I'm pretty sure that's
- 1:22:23what that was. Well, then I even think about
- 1:22:25like, you know, doing the trainer news.
- 1:22:27It's like, you know, I know, you know, we could do daycare or
- 1:22:31whatever. I even think about like some of
- 1:22:33the moms coming to it and it's like such a big thought that
- 1:22:35they have to like put into coming to something like that is
- 1:22:40like, you know, they have a child now and it's like, you
- 1:22:44know. A lot of different side streets.
- 1:22:48Yes, yeah, yeah. And then also like Casey and
- 1:22:52I've kind of talked, I don't know if it would even actually
- 1:22:54really do it, but like actually talked about do we even want to
- 1:22:57live here anymore? Of like in of course I would
- 1:23:01love to be able to afford and maybe we could, I don't know,
- 1:23:03like a home in one area and keeping this house as well for
- 1:23:07like, you know, half and half time.
- 1:23:10But then I'm like, Oh, I don't want to leave like my sister and
- 1:23:12Elouise and my parents. And so just I had a lot of like
- 1:23:18usually my thoughts and stuff were what do I want to do with
- 1:23:22my business next? Such a space.
- 1:23:24And that's where I feel very like thankful and confident that
- 1:23:27I'm like, that's not where I'm at right now.
- 1:23:29Like I've got plenty on the schedule.
- 1:23:31I've got creative stuff I'm doing.
- 1:23:32I've got things I love, like the trainer and you I love looking
- 1:23:35forward to. So it's, those are much easier
- 1:23:38decisions for me to make because I'm very confident in like the
- 1:23:42business side of things of me. But it's more of like the
- 1:23:44personal stuff that I'm like, Oh my gosh, like, yeah, it'll
- 1:23:48impact me more than, yes, my business is how we make money.
- 1:23:52But like if we needed to change course tomorrow, we would figure
- 1:23:56that out. Yeah, from a business aspect,
- 1:23:58but from a personal, I don't know, I just feel like there's
- 1:24:01so much more weight in those decisions.
- 1:24:03It's like a whole new phase. Yeah, so 34 is doing something
- 1:24:08to me. And I don't know if other people
- 1:24:09have experienced this, but I'm not afraid of getting older.
- 1:24:11I think it's a privilege to get older.
- 1:24:13I think, you know, same. I, I feel so blessed to have
- 1:24:17another year. It's just 34 is still very
- 1:24:21young, but it feels like teetering on the side of like
- 1:24:24for a woman, it just feels not super young.
- 1:24:27Yes, a clock is ticking. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:24:31Wow. That's it.
- 1:24:32That's a whole other episode. We.
- 1:24:34Ended on that. We started talking about this.
- 1:24:36I want to talk more, but you know, we're not trying to go to
- 1:24:39a 2 hour podcast episode. Next but.
- 1:24:42That's like, that's very relatable.
- 1:24:43Yeah, it's just so many things. And it's just so interesting how
- 1:24:46it's all these different things that you're thinking of that
- 1:24:49doesn't have to do with. Even talking it's like I know
- 1:24:54like it what it does, it would change everything.
- 1:24:57But like, I even think like I don't want that to change our
- 1:24:58friendship, like, you know what I mean?
- 1:25:01But like, just like I love being able to go and we can visit you
- 1:25:03guys for three weeks and we can jump on bikes and go do whatever
- 1:25:07we want. We can, you know, it would be
- 1:25:09like if we're visiting you with a kid, it's like, sorry guys, we
- 1:25:12need to come back for nap time. Like, and I know a friend like
- 1:25:14you'd be like, cool, can I take a nap?
- 1:25:16Like, yes, I want to do nap time.
- 1:25:18But yeah, it's just stuff like that that I'm like, I think I'm
- 1:25:21putting too much pressure on the thoughts around it that it's
- 1:25:24like, that's just me. And I know that that's how I am.
- 1:25:28I think about I overanalyze things and but I'm also a risk
- 1:25:33taker. But you can't feel like a risk
- 1:25:34taker of having a child. Well, maybe some people are.
- 1:25:37I that's yeah, I can't. Well, I feel like everything
- 1:25:41with your life and your friendships and your family, it
- 1:25:44would all fall into place how it's supposed to.
- 1:25:46Like I think if I was in my 20s and a friend had a baby, it
- 1:25:49would be a little weird because I'm like, oh, Thursday I'm going
- 1:25:51to ladies night. And so next, the next day I'm
- 1:25:53going to be hungover or something where I know for me
- 1:25:56when you all were here and I think I told you when you
- 1:25:58brought the kids stuff that I like kind of before you even
- 1:26:01brought that up, I was like envisioning cause Casey is so
- 1:26:03cute with like how he talks to the dogs and it's the most
- 1:26:07adorable thing ever. And it's almost like.
- 1:26:10Oh, I think he would be like literally the best dad on earth.
- 1:26:13The best. Yeah.
- 1:26:14And I think I'd be a really. Yeah, I think I'd be it's it's
- 1:26:17less about like, I know we would kill it.
- 1:26:19Like that's that's not what, but like.
- 1:26:22Lifestyle stuff and things. Around Yeah and like, you know,
- 1:26:25hear so many people talk about like how moms like lose
- 1:26:28themselves and like I love that I can like go to my workout
- 1:26:32classes whenever I want. I can, you know, do those things
- 1:26:35that it's like for me that I think I'd think having a kid and
- 1:26:40like being pregnant is the least scary part.
- 1:26:42It's like thinking about like postpartum of like even just I I
- 1:26:47just would be, I know that I would be very sensitive to that,
- 1:26:50but I'm also a go getter. So you.
- 1:26:52Really, I don't know. I don't know, see this could be
- 1:26:55a whole other. I'm sure other people are
- 1:26:56listening to this and either feeling like I've been there or
- 1:26:59they are there or I don't know. But that's where my brain has
- 1:27:03been putting way too much thoughts.
- 1:27:07I like. I think about it every single
- 1:27:08day. Well, I would be excited to fly
- 1:27:11up and visit. I know.
- 1:27:15Is it weird that I thought the other day I literally thought
- 1:27:17this yesterday I was like, because we were watching a show
- 1:27:19where some they were in the delivery room and I was thinking
- 1:27:23like, Oh my God, if Kate go to the delivery, can I sit in the
- 1:27:26waiting room? Is that too much?
- 1:27:27Would her family be like, hey, this is family time?
- 1:27:30Not their call. What?
- 1:27:32Not their call. OK, well so I isn't that weird.
- 1:27:34I thought of that like I haven't talked to you about kid stuff
- 1:27:37since you were here. I know you, I know would be like
- 1:27:40the best Auntie Bethany ever. Like I don't even question that.
- 1:27:44And I know you would support me and like be whatever I need in
- 1:27:48that as well. I think the biggest thing is I,
- 1:27:52I don't know if I'd be a person that would have a hard time
- 1:27:53asking people to help me because I do.
- 1:27:57I, I, I don't know, I have no idea.
- 1:27:59Oh, see, I wouldn't picture you as that.
- 1:28:02Yeah, I don't know. And I feel like maybe it's
- 1:28:03because I'm also a little control freakish of like I would
- 1:28:09ask someone to help me with something but then to.
- 1:28:12Do it a certain. Way, yeah.
- 1:28:13And so then I'd have to. I'm sure that that changed.
- 1:28:16But when you're thinking about like a tiny human that you're
- 1:28:18like, you don't want to mess up. I don't want to mess up a kid.
- 1:28:22No. So I don't know, OK.
- 1:28:25We need to pick this back up. Seriously.
- 1:28:27Well, and then I think about Casey.
- 1:28:28This is also a whole nother thing again.
- 1:28:29He would be such an awesome dad, but he's such a worrywart about
- 1:28:32like health stuff in general, which is understandable.
- 1:28:36But it's like, I wouldn't want to feel like, you know, those
- 1:28:39types of things I'm like doing on my own or taking on.
- 1:28:42And I know moms already take on so much mental load that it's
- 1:28:47like, I don't know, I just, I wouldn't want it to.
- 1:28:51It wouldn't ruin a dynamic, but change a dynamic in a way that I
- 1:28:54really feel like is a really good dynamic.
- 1:28:56Yeah, well, I feel like the great thing about you 2 is you
- 1:28:59communicate really well. We try to.
- 1:29:01We have our moments of it not being good communication.
- 1:29:04Well, I think it's better when it's some kind of communication.
- 1:29:07There's always communication like.
- 1:29:08When I went to which, by the way, this book should not be
- 1:29:10sitting on this chair, this table.
- 1:29:12For you're gonna organize once we hang up.
- 1:29:15This book the cost of quiet So when we were at the boomers
- 1:29:18house and we were leaving so nice.
- 1:29:20She was like, are you 2 readers? Do you like self personal
- 1:29:24development was like, yes. She was like, OK, here's this
- 1:29:27book. It saved our marriage.
- 1:29:28And that was like the the cost of quiet.
- 1:29:32How to have the hard conversations that create
- 1:29:34secure, lasting love. And I handed it to Bobby because
- 1:29:36I was like, I don't need this. By the way, I have no problem
- 1:29:39talking about hard stuff. I really don't.
- 1:29:41Well it's like that silent treatment thing is way worse
- 1:29:44than even like yelling. I have done that love.
- 1:29:46That's terrible. I've done that as well too, but
- 1:29:48it's like that and I I see it in certain relationships and I'm
- 1:29:52like, that is like that's. Really uncomfortable, like I
- 1:29:56almost did that after pickleball when y'all were here with Bobby
- 1:29:58because he really upset me because he was mean to me.
- 1:30:01I don't know what he did. This is what I'm saying.
- 1:30:02We're so nice to each other. So when any of us.
- 1:30:04Is eating and it that's OK that it's he didn't it wasn't like
- 1:30:09super mean, but it felt like a. Brief wasn't like calling me
- 1:30:12names, but he like yelled at me during pickleball and I was
- 1:30:15like, oh, I don't, don't do that to me.
- 1:30:18Yeah. So I shunned him to the car and
- 1:30:22then. Which I'm glad you didn't like.
- 1:30:24Try to unpack it in the car while we're in there.
- 1:30:26No, but I was also like, oh Jesus.
- 1:30:28Like I can't just silent treat him with two people here.
- 1:30:31Yeah, that's not fair to them. So anyway.
- 1:30:33But yeah, you OK? Wow, a lot of things.
- 1:30:36Yeah, we have. We apparently I came in a funk
- 1:30:39last week and we still have things to talk about.
- 1:30:41But this one, I'm annoyed with the snow, but it is what it is.
- 1:30:44But I'm not in a funk. I've just had no apparently a
- 1:30:46lot to talk about and we haven't.
- 1:30:47It hasn't even been a week. Oh my gosh.
- 1:30:51Apparently. We should have two.
- 1:30:53We should just do them when we feel like doing them.
- 1:30:55I would love that so much. We.
- 1:30:56Need to have our set, but it's something that we feel yeah, we
- 1:31:00need to have our set because I just know how we both operate
- 1:31:02myself. I need to have it on the
- 1:31:03schedule. That is where you might get busy
- 1:31:06baking and doing nothing, gardening and doing gardening
- 1:31:09and doing nothing. But yeah, if we need to do
- 1:31:11another one later in the week, I'm.
- 1:31:13Telling you because sometimes Wednesday.
- 1:31:14Is the rules around here? Yeah, just We do.
- 1:31:17We do. I don't care about.
- 1:31:19You know what I mean? OK, talk to you later, OK?
- 1:31:24Bye.
