- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm
- 0:14Speaker 1: Agan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm
- 0:16Speaker 1: a former Hallmark hater. On today's episode, we are discussing
- 0:20Speaker 1: Paris is Always a Good Idea. Episode five Marcos Revisited,
- 0:24Speaker 1: which is now streaming on Hallmark Plus exclusively. You can
- 0:28Speaker 1: keep up with us all over the internet. We invite
- 0:31Speaker 1: you to follow us on Instagram, on TikTok, on Facebook
- 0:33Speaker 1: where we are Girls Gone Hallmark, and please take a
- 0:37Speaker 1: look at our website, Girls Gone Hallmark dot com because
- 0:39Speaker 1: the information is coming out fast and furious from Hallmark
- 0:42Speaker 1: and we are keeping things updated over there. Can I
- 0:45Speaker 1: tell you? So, I've been gone for a week. I
- 0:49Speaker 1: had to take like a week off, but so we
- 0:51Speaker 1: recorded a bunch of stuff before we before I left,
- 0:53Speaker 1: and then I came home and I was watching TV
- 0:55Speaker 1: and then they're like the finale and I was like,
- 0:58Speaker 1: wait a minute, I'm talking the finale for this show
- 1:01Speaker 1: Paris is always a Good Idea. You hadn't even watched
- 1:03Speaker 1: with this, I was like, wait, I'm so confused. Yeah,
- 1:06Speaker 1: like aired already, Yeah, that's wild. And this was the
- 1:10Speaker 1: first time I've watched it on Hallmark Plus. Yeah, me too,
- 1:13Speaker 1: instead of on a screener. Me too. So I got
- 1:16Speaker 1: to see like subtitles. Yes, there was amazing. There were
- 1:18Speaker 1: some mistakes in the subtitles I noticed Nightly, But what
- 1:23Speaker 1: other what did you notice? Like Knightly was anig Apoline
- 1:27Speaker 1: was Abilene? Oh? Funny? Funny funny? Yeah. So, I can't
- 1:32Speaker 1: believe how fast this series has gone. And you know
- 1:37Speaker 1: our Facebook community, it seems to be well liked. Yes,
- 1:41Speaker 1: we have a bunch of emails. Can I read you some? Yes,
- 1:44Speaker 1: I'm so excited. First, Marianne says, you're kidding me that
- 1:47Speaker 1: you're not getting much mail bag. I listened to your
- 1:49Speaker 1: episode on Nightly today, I felt like I had to
- 1:51Speaker 1: write in. I can't believe everyone isn't writing in. The
- 1:54Speaker 1: show is so good. I keep wishing there were twenty
- 1:56Speaker 1: episodes so I can sit and binge. Ladies already my
- 2:00Speaker 1: favorite Hallmark actress, but in this series, she's definitely getting
- 2:03Speaker 1: to show off her range. She's saying so much with
- 2:06Speaker 1: her facial reactions and expressions, the full gamut of emotions.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I'm so glad they're zooming in on her face. We
- 2:11Speaker 1: get a full view of the emotions she's feeling in character.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I definitely cried in the scene when she shared about
- 2:18Speaker 1: her mom with the CEO of apline. And there's so
- 2:21Speaker 1: much good banter between Chelsea and Nightley and the scene
- 2:23Speaker 1: and the elevator. Wow, that's pushing the Hallmark envelope, isn't it?
- 2:31Speaker 1: Wow in a good Is she like a wow in
- 2:33Speaker 1: a good way? Or a wow? Oh? I think so? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 2:35Speaker 1: yeah yeah. Allison says, thank you for the library tip
- 2:38Speaker 1: for connecting to Hallmark. Plus, I pretty much binge the
- 2:40Speaker 1: first five episodes the past few days and just started
- 2:43Speaker 1: episode four of your podcast. As usual, your takes are
- 2:47Speaker 1: spot on. My biggest annoyance of the first few episodes
- 2:50Speaker 1: was her wardrobe. I just can't see wearing those tank
- 2:53Speaker 1: tops in an office with at a soup jacket, and
- 2:55Speaker 1: her hair always looks so messy pulled back doesn't get
- 2:57Speaker 1: her character her stiling need too, Summer says. My theory
- 3:05Speaker 1: is that the final episode will be nightly Revisited. It
- 3:08Speaker 1: makes sense that if all the other episodes are about
- 3:10Speaker 1: revisiting a place and or person, the final episode would
- 3:13Speaker 1: also follow that pattern. That's why this one is just nightly,
- 3:16Speaker 1: and as a romance reader, I refuse to believe that
- 3:18Speaker 1: Jason and Chelsea do not end up together, no matter
- 3:21Speaker 1: what the end of the episode wants us to believe. Yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 1: I think we can see the runway hair right. I yes,
- 3:30Speaker 1: she says there's a subtle but meaningful moment that happened
- 3:32Speaker 1: that I have to talk about in the car after
- 3:35Speaker 1: the meeting with Sophie Arnaut, when they're on the phone
- 3:38Speaker 1: with their boss, after Jason unintentionally shares the news about
- 3:41Speaker 1: Chelsea's mom, the camera moves to a shot looking down
- 3:45Speaker 1: at her phone. Her hand is holding the phone, and
- 3:47Speaker 1: in a blink you miss it moment, we see Jason's
- 3:49Speaker 1: fingers reach out and brush hers as if he's offering
- 3:52Speaker 1: her comfort. So quick, so subtle, so swoony. I was
- 3:57Speaker 1: a little nervous going in because I had issues with
- 3:59Speaker 1: the book, but the changes that have been made are great.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Lacy and Scott Michael Foster are dynamic together, and we
- 4:04Speaker 1: need him in more Hallmark movies asap. I would agree
- 4:09Speaker 1: with that. Well. I started watching the show Greek which
- 4:15Speaker 1: Scott Michael is this Scott Michael or Michael Scott Scott
- 4:18Speaker 1: Michael that he's in from like years and years ago,
- 4:23Speaker 1: and I think he looks better today. Like I mean,
- 4:27Speaker 1: obviously he's like young and like he's very young in Greek,
- 4:31Speaker 1: but he's and his character is so like messy and chaotic.
- 4:35Speaker 1: He has aged nicely. Absolutely what I'm trying to say, Yes,
- 4:39Speaker 1: for sure? Do you want our synopsis? I do. Encouraged
- 4:44Speaker 1: by Knightley to seek out answers to the last few
- 4:48Speaker 1: lingering questions about her past loves, Chelsea goes to Spain
- 4:52Speaker 1: and to Marcos's spineyard. Hey, Wendy, what was your first
- 4:57Speaker 1: impression of Marcos revisited? Well, Elze goes all the way
- 5:00Speaker 1: to Spain to learn from her mistakes and immediately makes
- 5:03Speaker 1: the same mistake in Boston. Right, My first impression is
- 5:07Speaker 1: the floor budget of this show must have exceeded that
- 5:10Speaker 1: of most countdown to Christmas movies. Oh, I'd be so
- 5:14Speaker 1: curious about that. Gorgeous though gorgeous, Oh yeah, totally, I
- 5:19Speaker 1: mean we'll like, can you imagine these two actors are like, Yeah,
- 5:22Speaker 1: I'm going to go shoot all this stuff like in
- 5:25Speaker 1: Paris and Spain and all these beautiful places. Why are
- 5:31Speaker 1: you confused? No? Like, what as opposed to like what
- 5:35Speaker 1: other people get to do. Vancouver, got it, got it,
- 5:38Speaker 1: got it, got it, got Yeah. Sure we are back.
- 5:42Speaker 1: We have our as usual cold open. We are on
- 5:45Speaker 1: the castle grounds and we get like some sleeping views
- 5:49Speaker 1: of the castle grounds and some shots of the wedding,
- 5:52Speaker 1: and then we get look, I refuse to believe this
- 5:55Speaker 1: is Chelsea's wedding. Yeah, they are trying to like lead
- 5:58Speaker 1: us to believe that. Well, I think they did a
- 6:00Speaker 1: really good job of that, and at the end of
- 6:03Speaker 1: episode four, but then as it opened, I was like,
- 6:07Speaker 1: this is not her wedding, right, yeah, right, because it's
- 6:10Speaker 1: not due Marcos and Glenn talked like Marcos is kind
- 6:14Speaker 1: of like managing, you know, set up. He would not
- 6:18Speaker 1: be managing that at his own wedding. He's managing because
- 6:20Speaker 1: this is his place. And Glenn comes over and he's
- 6:22Speaker 1: like she's gonna love this, right, intentionally ambiguous, and Marcos
- 6:27Speaker 1: is calling him mister Martin. He's like, I think you
- 6:29Speaker 1: can call me Glenn by now, right. So there's all
- 6:32Speaker 1: these moments where they're like, huh huh, maybe it's not
- 6:34Speaker 1: it's not Chelsea's wedding. Yeah. It feels like the opening
- 6:38Speaker 1: of this like you said is walking back. The end
- 6:40Speaker 1: of episode four, they're like, oh, we got youa but
- 6:43Speaker 1: don't worry. Don't worry, We're gonna pull it right back.
- 6:45Speaker 1: And it's funny because they don't fully reveal it until
- 6:49Speaker 1: the end when Annabelle like opens the door and Chelsea's
- 6:52Speaker 1: in a bridesmaid's dress. Finally, but I felt like after this,
- 6:55Speaker 1: I was like, it's not it's not Chelsea. The whole time,
- 6:58Speaker 1: I was like, it's not Chelsea. Ya ya see. And
- 7:01Speaker 1: for some reason it might just be in my state
- 7:03Speaker 1: of mind, but I was like cand of be rationally
- 7:05Speaker 1: mad about it. I don't know why, because I thought
- 7:08Speaker 1: the end of episode four was so good and then
- 7:11Speaker 1: I was like, well, duh, it's not going to be.
- 7:14Speaker 1: She's not going to be marrying Marco's right, But it
- 7:17Speaker 1: was kind of a good for a show that's released episodically.
- 7:21Speaker 1: It was a nice cliffhanger. It was a nice moment.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I think so too. So we get the Chelsea and
- 7:27Speaker 1: Marco's origin story, and it's a little bit different from
- 7:32Speaker 1: her moments with the other guys in that she's she's
- 7:35Speaker 1: not charmed by him. He's got Daddy's money and she
- 7:40Speaker 1: thinks he should be more environmentally responsible. Like where does
- 7:43Speaker 1: that come from? Though? But that's her whole thing, Like
- 7:45Speaker 1: that's what she's doing, Like she was you know, she
- 7:49Speaker 1: works with the now, right, but like she wanted to
- 7:52Speaker 1: be like a conservationist, is right? So I had completely
- 7:56Speaker 1: forgotten Yeah that because that's right because she was working
- 8:00Speaker 1: like was that she like by the ocean or something
- 8:02Speaker 1: like the river? Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah.
- 8:05Speaker 1: So I mean it comes from a good place and
- 8:07Speaker 1: I actually think it does make sense. And but she's
- 8:13Speaker 1: she's not really warm to him, like he's trying. I
- 8:16Speaker 1: guess he's used to the girls falling at his feet?
- 8:18Speaker 1: Is this how you nab a billionaire? You don't You
- 8:21Speaker 1: don't play hard to get, you don't take any interest
- 8:23Speaker 1: in them. Yeah, I mean it works. He's like, what
- 8:26Speaker 1: do you mean you're not falling all over me? Well,
- 8:28Speaker 1: now I must have you, but look, I gotta I
- 8:31Speaker 1: gotta appreciate that. She's like, yo, your carbon footprint is huge.
- 8:35Speaker 1: That car is ridiculous. And so he's like, well, I'm
- 8:37Speaker 1: going to give me a bike. Dowo. People use the
- 8:39Speaker 1: what years is supposed to be She's supposed to be
- 8:42Speaker 1: in college, right, or maybe host to college. It's ten
- 8:46Speaker 1: years ago, that's right. Yeah, he's saying print print Yeah,
- 8:51Speaker 1: probably probably they probably were someone who's in the environmental space,
- 8:56Speaker 1: probably was using it before. Yeah, bos are like me,
- 8:59Speaker 1: probably general ridacular before. Everyone's more worried about Taylor Swiss
- 9:04Speaker 1: carbon footprint than exactly the actual problems of the world.
- 9:08Speaker 1: There were some funny moments when she's like, you're just
- 9:10Speaker 1: not my type. He's like, I'm ever one's type, but
- 9:12Speaker 1: he's my type. Yeah. This, this man who plays him
- 9:17Speaker 1: is super handsome. I believe last week you said follin,
- 9:22Speaker 1: did I yeah about this guy? Yeah? Oh my god,
- 9:26Speaker 1: because you said Marcus is fine and I said, did
- 9:28Speaker 1: you mean fine? Are foining? And you clarified. I need
- 9:31Speaker 1: to see who the actor is because yea, I all
- 9:34Speaker 1: hate news and nodes. Just kidding. What is his name?
- 9:38Speaker 1: Let me find out his name, because he's Floyinge. His
- 9:43Speaker 1: name is Alejandro. I can't I'm not any meaning that
- 9:46Speaker 1: attempt this last name. Oh my god. He's so much
- 9:49Speaker 1: younger than me too. I'm born in eighty two. Is
- 9:52Speaker 1: he your age? He's younger than me. He's my brother's age.
- 9:56Speaker 1: He's been in a ton of stuff. He's real handsome.
- 10:00Speaker 1: He's incredibly handsome, and okay, moving on, and look, look
- 10:03Speaker 1: I like that. He's like he takes the note. She's like,
- 10:06Speaker 1: look here's my issues, and he's like done, and then
- 10:09Speaker 1: like it's so easy, so easy. I know. I was like, oh,
- 10:13Speaker 1: this is the hallmarks touch on this episode fully, like
- 10:16Speaker 1: just too easily wrapped in terms of like when she's like,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I don't like that you she's critical of his carbon
- 10:25Speaker 1: footprint like you said, and like how he spends his
- 10:27Speaker 1: money and et cetera, et cetera, and then he just
- 10:29Speaker 1: makes changes like that. Well, I just think they're painting him,
- 10:33Speaker 1: like she says. She says Colin was a romance. Sebastian
- 10:36Speaker 1: was fired, Marcos was a partner. She just has a
- 10:40Speaker 1: whole different vibe. He's much more mature than the other
- 10:42Speaker 1: two guy. Sure, he he just feels like a better
- 10:48Speaker 1: match for her. And I think there's a case we
- 10:50Speaker 1: made that on paper. He certainly is the better match
- 10:53Speaker 1: for her. And then right when he asks her to stay,
- 10:57Speaker 1: she gets the news about her mom and she leaves.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Good scene by Lacy Shavert here, great scene with her
- 11:05Speaker 1: dad on the phone. Yeah yeah, and I like the
- 11:07Speaker 1: way that they shot it too. It wasn't like now
- 11:09Speaker 1: if you had subtitles on, you could see what the
- 11:12Speaker 1: dad was saying. I could hear him. I don't remember
- 11:15Speaker 1: hearing anything. I thought it was kind of it was muted,
- 11:17Speaker 1: but you could hear him. I was like, you got
- 11:19Speaker 1: to come home. I thought that was really well done. Yeah,
- 11:22Speaker 1: well done by the doctor here. The interesting thing to
- 11:26Speaker 1: me is that this is the first time in these
- 11:30Speaker 1: three revisited relationships where Chelsea looks a little bit like
- 11:33Speaker 1: the flawed one in the relationship, just because she comes
- 11:37Speaker 1: off like a little hard and that's just my perception.
- 11:40Speaker 1: The other thing is like when in the voiceover when
- 11:42Speaker 1: she docks sat him selling the car, She's like, he
- 11:44Speaker 1: never told me that he did that. I don't know
- 11:45Speaker 1: how she finds out that he sold the car, but
- 11:47Speaker 1: he doesn't come to her and he's like, I sold
- 11:49Speaker 1: that car to charity. It's just done in the background, right,
- 11:53Speaker 1: These are nice, These are nice notes, I agree. And
- 11:56Speaker 1: then they have the Marcos reunion and I like that
- 12:00Speaker 1: he's he still seems to be the same guy, Like
- 12:03Speaker 1: he's still very flirty because she's like, I'm seeing someone
- 12:06Speaker 1: and He's like, I don't care, and he repeats that
- 12:08Speaker 1: like multiple times. I have it. Did you see that? Oh?
- 12:12Speaker 1: Did you notice how ill fitting her shirt was? I
- 12:14Speaker 1: just got out of the car to go see him.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I didn't. She's wearing like a different from her usual
- 12:19Speaker 1: like tank top. She was wearing like it wasless but
- 12:21Speaker 1: it was button but it was just ill fitting across
- 12:24Speaker 1: the chest, like the buttons were tent tents. Yeah, they
- 12:28Speaker 1: needed some tape. Yeah yeah. I just was like, no,
- 12:32Speaker 1: why would they put hern't? Okay? I know we don't
- 12:35Speaker 1: usually pick that stuff out, but it bothered me. Last
- 12:39Speaker 1: week you were like, this guy's not a buffoon, right, Like,
- 12:42Speaker 1: he's not one of the two duds, obviously, but he
- 12:46Speaker 1: has continued to kind of grow. He's taking them over
- 12:48Speaker 1: his dad's business and in the process has sold most
- 12:50Speaker 1: of the business. And now he's sitting on forty eight
- 12:52Speaker 1: freaking billion dollars. Like, is that a reality? Forty eight
- 12:55Speaker 1: billion dollars? I mean, I don't know, is it? I
- 12:58Speaker 1: have absolutely no idea. He doesn't know what to do
- 13:01Speaker 1: with it. I wonder if the hardest part about reconnecting
- 13:04Speaker 1: with Marcos is that he actually lives up to her
- 13:07Speaker 1: memory of him. Oh good point. Like the other guys,
- 13:11Speaker 1: you know, she didn't feel the need to go back
- 13:13Speaker 1: a because she has feelings for Nightly, But also, like
- 13:16Speaker 1: with Colin and with Sebastian, both were disappointing in some way,
- 13:21Speaker 1: and so Marcos is not right. He is actually continued
- 13:28Speaker 1: to act based on her influence. Yes, So what's interesting
- 13:35Speaker 1: is as as handsome as he is, and as I
- 13:39Speaker 1: think attracted to him as she probably is, she doesn't
- 13:42Speaker 1: really seem so there's no moment where I feel like, oh,
- 13:44Speaker 1: she's considering this as a relationship. Yeah, me neither. And
- 13:49Speaker 1: they don't give us enough to like, we don't see
- 13:52Speaker 1: any like backstory, a whole ton of backstory on them
- 13:56Speaker 1: where they were having this like romantic h yeah, I
- 13:59Speaker 1: was sure, Yeah, but she does like she's like, I
- 14:02Speaker 1: worried I'm leaning him on, But she's also like, I
- 14:04Speaker 1: told him the truth. You know. I don't know. What's
- 14:07Speaker 1: interesting though, is she like wants to tell him. She's like,
- 14:10Speaker 1: I need to explain why I left, and he's like,
- 14:11Speaker 1: I don't want to live in the pause. I'd be
- 14:12Speaker 1: like I want to know, Yeah, you need some answer, right, Yeah,
- 14:16Speaker 1: I know, I don't I hate that. We always talk
- 14:19Speaker 1: about that too, like oh, no, you need to tell
- 14:21Speaker 1: me now, like there's no postpony, and like tell me now,
- 14:23Speaker 1: or tell me the reason why you left. Yeah, it
- 14:25Speaker 1: doesn't change anything. It's not like since that line, I
- 14:28Speaker 1: have been wondering, is there a reason? Is there a
- 14:30Speaker 1: reason he didn't want to know? Is I going to
- 14:34Speaker 1: come back into play? It doesn't seem like it is
- 14:36Speaker 1: at all. It just seems like they're maybe trying to
- 14:38Speaker 1: paint him as someone who's like it doesn't matter, Like
- 14:39Speaker 1: I don't. I don't hold that against you, but I
- 14:42Speaker 1: would still if I were him, I would want to
- 14:45Speaker 1: know why'd you leave? Yeah, especially because she basically ghosted him.
- 14:49Speaker 1: She says that she does. Yeah. I mean even after
- 14:52Speaker 1: leaving any point she could have been like, hey, this
- 14:54Speaker 1: is what happened. Like I can understand we live in
- 14:57Speaker 1: the age of an email. She d have shot him
- 14:59Speaker 1: an email. I totally understand her being like I got
- 15:01Speaker 1: to get out of here and just leaving. I understand that.
- 15:05Speaker 1: And I can even understand like feeling overwhelmed by emotions
- 15:08Speaker 1: and being like I can't handle this. But she had
- 15:10Speaker 1: many opportunities to shoot him, and he will be like
- 15:12Speaker 1: I had a family emergency, even without getting into it.
- 15:15Speaker 1: So right, we're hinging on my biggest problem with the episode. Okay,
- 15:19Speaker 1: Marcus tells Chelsea he wants to start a foundation and
- 15:24Speaker 1: he wants her to run it. Yeah, because he's sitting
- 15:26Speaker 1: on forty eight billion dollars. Why is is she not
- 15:30Speaker 1: pitching the ACC to him? Why is he why? Why
- 15:34Speaker 1: is he not a potential donor for the ACC? Here's
- 15:37Speaker 1: why I think that is. In that same dinner conversation,
- 15:40Speaker 1: he says, like, the difference between her and everybody else
- 15:44Speaker 1: is everyone else always wants something from him when they
- 15:46Speaker 1: reach out, it's always to ask him for money, even
- 15:49Speaker 1: if it's for something good. And I think she didn't
- 15:53Speaker 1: want to cross that line with him. Come on, convenient,
- 15:58Speaker 1: Yeah you know, yeah, because I thought the same thing.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I mean, she's supposed to be such a hard nose, like, yeah,
- 16:07Speaker 1: one percent of his money would endow the ACC forever exactly,
- 16:12Speaker 1: Especially after she has this conversation with Aiden, He's like,
- 16:16Speaker 1: I know, oh, the donation we just got is like
- 16:18Speaker 1: barely keeping us afloat, and she learns we'll get to it.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'm guessing about nightly and whatever, and what she does.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I don't know why at this point she can't pivot
- 16:30Speaker 1: back to Marcos and be like, hey, yeah, I don't
- 16:33Speaker 1: And I wonder if that's what's going to happen in
- 16:35Speaker 1: the next episode, because I do feel like when she
- 16:39Speaker 1: has that conversation with Aiden and we will talk about it,
- 16:42Speaker 1: I really want her to be like, wait, pause, don't
- 16:44Speaker 1: make any crazy decisions. Let me see what I can do. Yeah, exactly,
- 16:47Speaker 1: hold on this for twenty four hours, right, and then
- 16:50Speaker 1: figure something out. Because had she gone back to Marcos
- 16:54Speaker 1: with that money, she wouldn't have been asking for it
- 16:56Speaker 1: for herself. Let's take a break and come back talk
- 17:00Speaker 1: about Nightley's money problems. We go back to Boston. Niley's
- 17:12Speaker 1: at home with his sister, who looks much older than
- 17:15Speaker 1: a teenager. Don't you think she's supposed to be a teenager? Yeah? Oh,
- 17:19Speaker 1: I thought this girl was like a college girl. I
- 17:21Speaker 1: don't think so. Yeah. I mean, I think that's the
- 17:24Speaker 1: whole reason he can't leave is like she's in school.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I thought the styling was like very like nineties of
- 17:31Speaker 1: like she just had like nineties hair, I thought, and like, anyway,
- 17:34Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. But I honestly was running on the
- 17:38Speaker 1: assumption that she was a college student. No, because he
- 17:40Speaker 1: even says later to Chelsea, like, I can't leave till
- 17:42Speaker 1: my sister's in college. Ah could catch Yeah she did
- 17:47Speaker 1: look much older much, I mean, Chelsea's sister could have
- 17:51Speaker 1: played the Yeah, yeah, I agree. But basically we learn,
- 17:57Speaker 1: like we already know that he's kind of supporting her,
- 18:00Speaker 1: paying for her to go to school, but now she's
- 18:01Speaker 1: made the club soccer team. It's outrageously expensive, and he's like,
- 18:04Speaker 1: don't worry, I got it. But then of course we
- 18:06Speaker 1: see that like paniced look on his face, like maybe
- 18:08Speaker 1: I don't got it, but he feels like he's got
- 18:12Speaker 1: to come through for her because their parents are such
- 18:14Speaker 1: a disappointment. Well, here's another problem I have with this
- 18:19Speaker 1: episode is like we've spent like the last five episodes
- 18:22Speaker 1: all up in Chelsea's business, and we know a sliver
- 18:26Speaker 1: right of his backstory and that he's financially responsible for
- 18:30Speaker 1: this sibling and so on and so forth, but like
- 18:32Speaker 1: we don't know anything else. Yeah, that's where this series
- 18:35Speaker 1: could have benefited with two extra episodes to build out
- 18:38Speaker 1: some of these other stories. Yeah, or season two from
- 18:42Speaker 1: his povy Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, because later on, like
- 18:45Speaker 1: we see him walking with a friend, and we don't
- 18:47Speaker 1: know anything about this guy. I mean, it's obvious we
- 18:49Speaker 1: can deduce like this is his friend, his friend, it
- 18:51Speaker 1: is just a baby. They're in a fantasy football league.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Like there's a whole thing going on. He's like, I
- 18:54Speaker 1: can't afford it. What does your fantasy football league costs
- 18:57Speaker 1: that you can't afford the buy in? I don't know,
- 18:59Speaker 1: a couple hundred bugs. Maybe I don't know, Yeah, maybe
- 19:02Speaker 1: I don't know. I just laughed at this. The guy's like, dude,
- 19:05Speaker 1: I'm tired. Yeah. I thought it was very funny, I'm sure,
- 19:09Speaker 1: but I thought it was also bad advice from the
- 19:13Speaker 1: friend who was like, it's your sister, you don't owe her.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Like yeah, I was like what. I didn't like that
- 19:20Speaker 1: either at all. What he's like, it's not your kid
- 19:23Speaker 1: or so, I don't know something. I just thought it
- 19:25Speaker 1: was terrible advice. Terrible. Yeah, Nightley's showing up for his family. Yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 1: that's it. Addible life a little bit harder, but that's
- 19:34Speaker 1: what he feels compelled to do. Yeah, and he's in
- 19:37Speaker 1: a position to do so, even if it means, you know,
- 19:41Speaker 1: cutting some things out of his personal life. I understand
- 19:44Speaker 1: Nightley's motivation there. I did like they have their little
- 19:47Speaker 1: phone date. They're like both looking at their phones and
- 19:50Speaker 1: nightly calls, and she's so happy to hear from him.
- 19:53Speaker 1: She tells him about the job offer, right, and he
- 19:57Speaker 1: is like so sad about it, and he's done long
- 20:01Speaker 1: distance and it's never been successful, and he's like, I
- 20:03Speaker 1: always pick women whose permanent plan is not to stay here.
- 20:06Speaker 1: And then they kind of move on for UK. They like,
- 20:08Speaker 1: we'll figure it out. And then they talk about his
- 20:11Speaker 1: sister and the money, and she offers to help him
- 20:15Speaker 1: and he turns her down, and there's just like they're
- 20:18Speaker 1: laying it all out there. Yeah, she knows the whole
- 20:20Speaker 1: score basically, but he does tell her like Debt told
- 20:23Speaker 1: my family apart, my family lost everything, and he does.
- 20:26Speaker 1: He's like almost about to tell her he loves her,
- 20:29Speaker 1: and then he says, sweet dreams. It's sweet. It's a
- 20:32Speaker 1: nice call. It's a cute. They're cute. I like the
- 20:35Speaker 1: way they're doing that. Mm hmmm. Is the agen Seine
- 20:38Speaker 1: next when she goes down to the office. Yes, Chelsea's
- 20:42Speaker 1: surprises makes it like a surprise WA's at home she
- 20:45Speaker 1: got like surprises Annabelle, who's like at home watering plants.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I'm back, like I made my decision, and she says
- 20:52Speaker 1: she's going to go surprise Nightly at work. What was
- 20:54Speaker 1: your thought here? Did you have any No? Not really.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I was like, oh no, oh no, something's gonna go wrong.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Like I was convinced like she was gonna catch Nightly
- 21:06Speaker 1: doing something you should in a bent or another woman
- 21:08Speaker 1: or I don't know. I just was like, oh, terrible,
- 21:10Speaker 1: they're setting this up not to go well, because it's
- 21:13Speaker 1: it's I just knew they were setting it up not
- 21:15Speaker 1: to go well, and it was different than what I thought.
- 21:18Speaker 1: She walks in with her two giant duncan donus ice
- 21:21Speaker 1: coffee's product placement again, like they're just literal like gallons
- 21:25Speaker 1: of black iced coffee, which even like sweating at all. No,
- 21:29Speaker 1: they did have some faux ice cubes and them I
- 21:32Speaker 1: just I get so scary. She like grabs them at
- 21:35Speaker 1: the end and like Kino sometimes when you grab like
- 21:37Speaker 1: a plastic spillage everywhere. Oh my god. I just was like,
- 21:44Speaker 1: worst nightmare happening. I'm like, who's treating that big ass
- 21:47Speaker 1: ice coffee? Just black? Like that, right, you can't even
- 21:51Speaker 1: imagine vibrating seriously at the end of the day. Yeah,
- 21:55Speaker 1: and before she's able to speak to Nightly, Aiden intercepts
- 21:57Speaker 1: her and gives her the the download of it having
- 22:01Speaker 1: for one one. Yeah, we're barely staying afloat. Kind of interesting, right,
- 22:07Speaker 1: I'm like, what happened to all your money? But look,
- 22:09Speaker 1: I get it, the world's smart expensive. He basically is like,
- 22:12Speaker 1: your donation saved us. But also we're laying people off.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Oh it's awful, and Nightley's gotta go. I mean, I
- 22:20Speaker 1: think she makes a good pitch like it Nightley did,
- 22:24Speaker 1: save it, saved the deal, the Paris Deal with Sophie
- 22:28Speaker 1: or whatever her name is. But you know, I kind
- 22:34Speaker 1: of like that Chelsea falls on the sword here, But
- 22:39Speaker 1: also I kind of hated it too. Yeah. So it's
- 22:43Speaker 1: so I had so many mixed emotions, right, and I
- 22:47Speaker 1: hate the way she handles it with Nightly. She basically
- 22:51Speaker 1: is like, we got to cut this off. In her voiceover,
- 22:56Speaker 1: she explains like, I could never tell him the truth.
- 22:59Speaker 1: His pride would never have allowed here. I get that,
- 23:03Speaker 1: And I do think she was between a rock and
- 23:04Speaker 1: a hard place because she wanted him to have this job,
- 23:07Speaker 1: you know, it's like Nightly A'll land on his feet
- 23:09Speaker 1: and he probably would have, right, I'm maybe, I don't know.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I wish there was another way for her to handles
- 23:16Speaker 1: because when she starts cutting Nightly off, I'm like, oh,
- 23:18Speaker 1: she's like back to her old ways. Yeah, exactly, That's
- 23:21Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like did she learn anything from revisiting
- 23:27Speaker 1: these dudes from the past? And then I think her
- 23:29Speaker 1: explanation kind of like reframes it. She's not just like
- 23:32Speaker 1: cutting herself off from love, like she's doing this out
- 23:35Speaker 1: of love for Nightly, Okay, she's like protecting him. But
- 23:38Speaker 1: I was like, there's got to be another way for
- 23:41Speaker 1: him to know that you care about him, Like why,
- 23:46Speaker 1: I guess The question is like why does she need
- 23:49Speaker 1: to tell him, Like why couldn't she just say like,
- 23:52Speaker 1: oh I got fired yeah, or oh I quit like
- 23:56Speaker 1: I guess, or oh they're making budget cuts and like,
- 23:59Speaker 1: I have other opportunities, so it only felt like the
- 24:02Speaker 1: right choice right for me to leave. She doesn't have
- 24:05Speaker 1: to say it was me or you. She could just
- 24:07Speaker 1: say I have this other opportunity to do good. But
- 24:12Speaker 1: then he would have talked her out of it. Maybe
- 24:14Speaker 1: or try to no, I get it's home and like
- 24:17Speaker 1: bursts into tears. Sana Valu're like she does, She's not
- 24:20Speaker 1: turning away from her feelings for him. And then he's like,
- 24:22Speaker 1: I love you and I love that Sam when she
- 24:25Speaker 1: goes home to her sister and she just like breaks down.
- 24:28Speaker 1: The sister scenes are the best part of this show
- 24:31Speaker 1: for me. And the dad's like what's going on and
- 24:33Speaker 1: like he just approaches them like so gently. Me as
- 24:37Speaker 1: a parent, I'd be like, what's happening. Yeah, you know,
- 24:41Speaker 1: I have no chill whatsoever. So good scene, so Glenn proposed,
- 24:50Speaker 1: is it's a nice family moment. It's full circle. Yes,
- 24:54Speaker 1: Chelsea's like fully supportive, and Chelsea even says like I'm
- 24:57Speaker 1: so glad you get your second love, and Nannabel's like
- 24:59Speaker 1: do you believe that? And she's like I do for you,
- 25:02Speaker 1: and she realizes like how her feelings about love have
- 25:04Speaker 1: shaped out. Annabel feels about love and blah blah blah.
- 25:06Speaker 1: That's all nice and that's kind of like a balm
- 25:09Speaker 1: to all of them. And Cherry's fully welcomed into the
- 25:12Speaker 1: family and another clue they get she's like, leave be
- 25:17Speaker 1: my bridesmaids, and Chelsea says, only if we can wear
- 25:20Speaker 1: dresses that match your ring. And you know that Annabelle's
- 25:22Speaker 1: dress from earlier is the same color as the ring.
- 25:25Speaker 1: You know, it's like reveal, reveal, reveal, great cut to
- 25:28Speaker 1: the wedding. The photographer's massion is like, I need to
- 25:31Speaker 1: take pictures. It's the bride ready. You know. They're kind
- 25:34Speaker 1: of dragging me. It's too far from me. I'm like,
- 25:36Speaker 1: come on, And she goes running through the castle and
- 25:39Speaker 1: pounds on the door and then Chelsea opens the door
- 25:41Speaker 1: and she's in the bridesmaids dress. Yes, it's like, okay, shucking, Yeah.
- 25:44Speaker 1: I did want to read an email before we talk
- 25:47Speaker 1: about this, Okay, Amanda says, I know you don't do
- 25:50Speaker 1: a digit see that episode for these but what was
- 25:52Speaker 1: with them carrying that wedding gown all around the castle?
- 25:55Speaker 1: Why wasn't Sherry in the bridal suite or at least
- 25:57Speaker 1: bring her up there when it was time to get dressed.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I was worried they were going to trip on the
- 26:01Speaker 1: stairs and me too. Honestly, that didn't bother me. What
- 26:04Speaker 1: bothered me is like, you have this high end fashion photographer,
- 26:08Speaker 1: which one they never oh, never mind. Yes, they did
- 26:13Speaker 1: explain why he's there, not in this episode, but in
- 26:16Speaker 1: previous Okay, got it. I guess why does it need
- 26:18Speaker 1: to be him? Why does it need to be him
- 26:20Speaker 1: other than they made this exchange and she probably broke
- 26:23Speaker 1: some deal like you're gonna shoot whatever anyway, But they're
- 26:26Speaker 1: taking pictures and they're doing like jazz hands, and like
- 26:29Speaker 1: nobody's doing like jazz hands, and in there, I think
- 26:32Speaker 1: the point is, like Sherry's super cheesy, remember, because he
- 26:36Speaker 1: has that sign says will you marry me? Sherry be
- 26:38Speaker 1: and Chelse Annabel's like she matches his cheese, Like Glenn
- 26:42Speaker 1: and Sherry are just silly, goofy guys. Yeah, but do
- 26:45Speaker 1: you think this fashion photographer? I did think that the
- 26:48Speaker 1: photographs were very giving, like stand together and take a
- 26:51Speaker 1: picture and not like I know what I'm doing and
- 26:54Speaker 1: how to frame a photo. Yeah, I mean this is
- 26:56Speaker 1: my own beef sure shirt with it all. She in
- 27:01Speaker 1: her voiceover is like it's been a year and I'm
- 27:04Speaker 1: still longing for Nightly basically yeah, basically, yeah. Every time
- 27:08Speaker 1: she closes my eyes, He's still the only one. You're
- 27:11Speaker 1: still the only one I see. You're still the one.
- 27:14Speaker 1: There's still the one. Two. In the press episodes for
- 27:19Speaker 1: episode six, it's a lot of wedding shots. Wedding, wedding, wedding, wedding, wedding, wedding, wedding, wedding, wedding,
- 27:27Speaker 1: Chelsea's wedding, wedding, Nope, nope, nope, all this Sherry wedding.
- 27:31Speaker 1: So many wedding shots. And there's a photo of Nightly's
- 27:37Speaker 1: talking in the background, Chelsea and Nightley talking at the wedding. Okay, Oh,
- 27:41Speaker 1: there's a photo of Nightly's like hand on her face.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Hold on, I'm gonna pull it up. I'm gonna pull
- 27:48Speaker 1: it up. What's he holding a ring? Oh? Maybe she
- 27:51Speaker 1: sent him the voice note, because there's a photo of
- 27:52Speaker 1: him like coming down the stairs holding the phone, like
- 27:57Speaker 1: maybe he's listening to it something like, So any photos
- 28:00Speaker 1: of them together. If you know anything about romance, we
- 28:03Speaker 1: got to have a happily ever after. It's required in
- 28:06Speaker 1: a romance novel. So you know, we knew where we
- 28:09Speaker 1: were headed, but we got to see this whole wedding unfold.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Seems like it because there are zillion totally oh yeah, yeah,
- 28:18Speaker 1: oh yeah, oh yeah. He's looking on the phone guys,
- 28:21Speaker 1: hand on the face, hairtuck, oh, handholding. I mean, I
- 28:26Speaker 1: have a feeling. I think I know how this ends.
- 28:28Speaker 1: But yeah, me too. That phone shot did it for me? Yeah?
- 28:32Speaker 1: Did you see in our I think it was the
- 28:34Speaker 1: Facebook group so I was like, that must have been
- 28:36Speaker 1: a really long voice memo she sent him, right. I
- 28:39Speaker 1: think it was listener Wayne, who was like, He's like,
- 28:42Speaker 1: I'd be scrolling through the transcript totally me too. And
- 28:50Speaker 1: the person who watches TikTok's on two time speed. I
- 28:54Speaker 1: destroyed my attention span. Okay, want to I want to
- 28:56Speaker 1: ask you a question. Do you think there's anything to
- 28:59Speaker 1: the fact that Nightly's sister is playing club soccer and
- 29:04Speaker 1: Annabelle is like this former soccer star, Like is there
- 29:06Speaker 1: a connection to be made? There? Is there some sort
- 29:09Speaker 1: of like season two like, what's like, what's gonna happen
- 29:12Speaker 1: with Annabell here? Because I feel like that's such an
- 29:15Speaker 1: open thread. Yeah, I agree, And I'm sure something could
- 29:20Speaker 1: happen in the finale with her, like maybe Chelsea sneakily
- 29:24Speaker 1: invites like Declan to come. Maybe they've been in contact
- 29:27Speaker 1: all this time, Maybe we see her meet somebody. But
- 29:30Speaker 1: I think if we don't get some sort of something
- 29:34Speaker 1: happening with Annabell beyond this, do you really believe there's
- 29:37Speaker 1: a second chance? I love that feels like a very
- 29:40Speaker 1: open thread for me. I kind of hope there is
- 29:44Speaker 1: a season two. I think there's a lot we could
- 29:47Speaker 1: do with it. I think so too. There's different point
- 29:50Speaker 1: of views. We could definitely dig deeper into Annabell. We
- 29:54Speaker 1: can definitely dig deeper into Nightly's story. Uh huh, Well,
- 30:00Speaker 1: maybe season two is Annabelle and like Knightley and Chelsea
- 30:03Speaker 1: like exist as background characters. Yeah, they don't have to
- 30:06Speaker 1: carry the show. Yeah, yeah, yeah, because also she resides
- 30:11Speaker 1: in Spain, right well maybe, I mean we don't know
- 30:15Speaker 1: yet what happens if she's gonna be like, well maybe
- 30:19Speaker 1: maybe Nightly's sister gets recruited to some Spain soccer academy. Okay, Okay,
- 30:26Speaker 1: I don't know. We don't know what's gonna happen. I've
- 30:29Speaker 1: enjoyed the series. I think it's really good. A little predictable,
- 30:33Speaker 1: but I think it's it's hitting all the right notes.
- 30:36Speaker 1: It's hitting it right for me. Yeah, Hey, thanks for
