- 0:57SPEAKER_00: For 11 generations, the Neely family has perfect whiskey.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Long before there was a distillery in Sparta, Kentucky, there were family recipes, copper stills, moonshine runs, and a tradition passed from one generation to the next.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Today, that history lives on at Neely Family Distillery.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Here, whiskey is made with sweet mashed fermentation, open-top cypress fermenters, and copper pot stills.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: But history here doesn't just sit behind glass.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: An original French Absinthe still built in the 1890s is still producing spirits today.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: And now a brand new three-chamber column still begins another chapter.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Old world tradition.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Modern innovation.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Eleven generations later, the Neely family is still doing what they've always done.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Making whiskey.
- 4:08SPEAKER_05: So I was kind of that year, I did get into it.
- 4:12SPEAKER_05: I did go to a couple games when I was living at the dorms.
- 4:15SPEAKER_05: They had a couple games to go to.
- 4:17SPEAKER_05: So I got to see them play.
- 4:19SPEAKER_05: I believe it was the Orioles.
- 4:21SPEAKER_05: And I believe that they also played, it was the Orioles and the Indians that year, those two games that I got to go see.
- 4:30SPEAKER_05: One, I was one and one.
- 4:31SPEAKER_05: I wasn't as I was probably more interested in girls at the time than I was the baseball game.
- 4:38SPEAKER_05: But at the but overall, it was a fantastic, fantastic run in 82, but they didn't win.
- 4:44SPEAKER_05: And they had a huge I I went to all the win when they won the ALCS.
- 4:49SPEAKER_05: I was went down there afterwards and partied in the parking lot of County Stadium, had a great time.
- 4:56SPEAKER_05: But this time, this year, I always play fantasy baseball.
- 5:02SPEAKER_05: I played fantasy baseball every year since 1986.
- 5:07SPEAKER_05: I actually the first year I had a fantasy draft, and my rehearsal dinner, it was 1986, my rehearsal dinner was that night.
- 5:17SPEAKER_05: So we finished up the draft.
- 5:18SPEAKER_05: I went home, got ready, and went to my rehearsal dinner to get married.
- 5:24SPEAKER_05: So that was 1986.
- 5:27SPEAKER_05: And I played every year.
- 5:31SPEAKER_05: But I think I skipped two years.
- 5:33SPEAKER_05: One year when I moved, I was out of it, and then I came back into it.
- 5:36SPEAKER_05: And just overall, love fantasy baseball.
- 5:39SPEAKER_05: That gets me into baseball.
- 5:41SPEAKER_05: But at the same time, I watch a lot on the internet.
- 5:44SPEAKER_05: Uh watch stats.
- 5:46SPEAKER_05: I'm not usually watching games.
- 5:48SPEAKER_05: But this year, having the ticket the last two years for Major League Baseball, I really was into the Brewers.
- 5:53SPEAKER_05: And one of the things I noticed is that they were different.
- 5:56SPEAKER_05: They're a team.
- 5:57SPEAKER_05: They I know all the players' tendencies.
- 6:00SPEAKER_05: Uh Roxy and I watched all the World Series games and all the ALC, the NLCS games.
- 6:06SPEAKER_05: And when that those games were going on, I kept telling her about the players and how they were.
- 6:11SPEAKER_05: Like, for instance, Tarang, the first couple parts of the World Series, the first couple games, he wasn't getting on base, but it wasn't because he wasn't hitting the ball.
- 6:21SPEAKER_05: He was smoking the ball.
- 6:23SPEAKER_05: I mean, and that's just kind of what it was.
- 6:25SPEAKER_05: You know, there's certain things, certain tendencies that the pitchers had, watching Mizarowski and everything, but they defeated the Tampa Bay Devil Rays last night, 4-1 in game five, winning their first World Series championship.
- 6:40SPEAKER_05: It was fantastic.
- 6:42SPEAKER_05: Would have been great if they won the night before when they lost, because it was a much more dramatic game.
- 6:47SPEAKER_05: But in this game, it was kind of nice to be in the an elimination game that it was never in doubt.
- 6:55SPEAKER_05: They were never in doubt that they weren't gonna win.
- 7:01SPEAKER_05: I mean, it was one to nothing, two to nothing, four to nothing, and then our pitching and really no serious you you were on the edge of your seat, but there were no serious changes.
- 7:13SPEAKER_05: And then afterwards, to see this team watch, watch the young kids on the team.
- 7:20SPEAKER_05: I mean, Cooper Pratt, their rookie shortstop, he just he came up four months ago, and he's now has a World Series ring, and that is something that is crazy to me because there's players that play their whole lives, or you take Robin Yount, who played in the World Series in 1982, but never played another World Series again, or Paul Mollater, and they never didn't win a World Series.
- 7:48SPEAKER_05: And Cooper Pratt has won a World Series as a short and a major contributor.
- 7:54SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's just the same thing.
- 7:55SPEAKER_05: Mizarowski, he's just a 22, 24-year-old kid that's throwing, like setting records on how fast he throws.
- 8:05SPEAKER_05: He threw the fastest starting pitcher pitch in the World Series.
- 8:11SPEAKER_05: No, the fastest pitch in the World Series, 103.5 miles an hour.
- 8:15SPEAKER_05: In the NLC AS he hit 104.7.
- 8:19SPEAKER_05: There was a lot of kind of stuff going on and what he did.
- 8:24SPEAKER_05: But and then as far as he's the third fastest, there's only two other pitchers that ever had a pitch faster than him, but they were both relievers.
- 8:33SPEAKER_05: He's the only starter to throw that fast, 105.
- 8:40SPEAKER_05: I think the fastest is 105.9, and he's hit 105.5.
- 8:46SPEAKER_05: So there you go.
- 8:48SPEAKER_05: I mean, I'm 62 years old.
- 8:50SPEAKER_05: I didn't think I would see it after last year getting swept by the Dodgers, the year before the Dodgers were in it.
- 8:57SPEAKER_05: I I mean, I like to see what the Dodgers the Dodger team, I've always been very excited about.
- 9:04SPEAKER_05: So that's been fantastic.
- 9:06SPEAKER_05: It's been awesome.
- 9:09SPEAKER_05: I, you know, I'm 62 and I've got to watch my Milwaukee Brewers win the World Series with with Roxy.
- 9:20SPEAKER_05: It was fantastic.
- 9:21SPEAKER_05: It was a super blast, and it was great to, you know, actually see that happen.
- 9:29SPEAKER_05: I stayed up all the way till three o'clock in the morning.
- 9:32SPEAKER_05: Like I said, I am whatever.
- 9:34SPEAKER_05: But tonight the the Packers are playing, and it's it's it's insane that you can go.
- 9:42SPEAKER_05: If they win tonight, it'll just be just this just been such a fantastic, fantastic stream to be in Wisconsin.
- 9:51SPEAKER_05: All the Wisconsin people I can I wish I could go to the parade, and I just, you know, I'm gonna watch as much of it as I can tomorrow at work.
- 10:00SPEAKER_05: And so this should be a fantastic, fantastic thing.
- 10:03SPEAKER_05: I mean, 44 years since I they were in it, and I didn't nobody in Milwaukee is so happy that this has happened.
- 10:12SPEAKER_05: It's just like it's a historic championship, 103 regular season wins.
- 10:18SPEAKER_05: They were 11 and 2 postseason, almost had a nine-game and was 11-1.
- 10:24SPEAKER_05: But they had they swept the Dodgers and NLCS.
- 10:27SPEAKER_05: Mizorowski, 5-2 thirds, scoreless innings in the clincher.
- 10:30SPEAKER_05: William Contreras, World Series MVP.
- 10:33SPEAKER_05: He was great hitting, but he also was great as a catcher.
- 10:37SPEAKER_05: It was so much fun to watch him.
- 10:39SPEAKER_05: And baseball has changed now that you can do the challenge.
- 10:42SPEAKER_05: The challenge is freaking awesome.
- 10:45SPEAKER_05: That's what that is.
- 10:46SPEAKER_05: And that I mean, just when you think about it, 1982 Brewers waiting 44 years and the memories of Bob Euchre.
- 10:54SPEAKER_05: I just wish he would have made one more year.
- 10:56SPEAKER_05: That's sad.
- 10:57SPEAKER_05: I met him, uh, I got met him, he signed a ball for me that day.
- 11:02SPEAKER_05: I also got I also met Bud Sealig in the the players' family lounge.
- 11:08SPEAKER_05: They always had a place to eat, and the players would come in, their families could eat there.
- 11:12SPEAKER_05: Bud Sealag came in and he looked out the window and was looking at the crowd for the night.
- 11:15SPEAKER_05: They were playing the Toronto Blue Jays.
- 11:18SPEAKER_05: I actually got to get in on batting practice because of this package that we had gotten in an auction.
- 11:24SPEAKER_05: It was fantastic.
- 11:25SPEAKER_05: Caught Fred McGriff's home run that he hit in batting practice, and then my mom, who was along with this, had it called him over and he signed it for me.
- 11:35SPEAKER_05: And I have that ball till today.
- 11:37SPEAKER_05: I have so many memories throughout, you know, and when you wait your entire life for your team to win it all, I mean, there's nothing freaking better than, you know, it's just awesome.
- 11:53SPEAKER_05: So with that said, I got that out.
- 11:56SPEAKER_05: I got it out.
- 11:57SPEAKER_05: We're www.scotchybourbonboys.com for all things Scotchy Bourbon Boys.

- 13:42SPEAKER_05: We're safe.
- 13:42SPEAKER_05: We're safe?
- 13:43SPEAKER_05: Was it a little bottle?
- 13:44SPEAKER_04: I keep my back weaned out.

- 14:25SPEAKER_05: Oh my god, I don't even know how you can do it.
- 14:30SPEAKER_05: So Martin says, Cheers, Roxy, and Steve's on.

- 16:14SPEAKER_05: All right.
- 16:15SPEAKER_05: So you do have a microphone, correct?
- 16:17SPEAKER_04: I do.
- 16:17SPEAKER_05: So tell everybody what this is.
- 16:20SPEAKER_04: This is when do bats talk.
- 16:22SPEAKER_05: Well, this bat's gonna talk because you're on you.
- 16:25SPEAKER_05: I gave you a microphone.
- 16:26SPEAKER_05: I didn't want to do it so everybody could hear you crinkle.
- 16:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's true.
- 16:30SPEAKER_04: It's very crinkly.
- 16:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 16:33SPEAKER_05: So tonight we I wonder how I you want some?
- 16:40SPEAKER_05: Tonight we're doing the Bardstown Victoria pineapple rum barrel finish.
- 16:46SPEAKER_05: And we are gonna break that down for everybody, you know, and I'm excited about that, you know.
- 16:55SPEAKER_04: So shouldn't get too excited about the Packers, seeing as how they fumbled on the first time they had the ball.
- 17:01SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 17:02SPEAKER_04: And turned it over to the Yeah.
- 17:04SPEAKER_05: Is it already 7-0?
- 17:06SPEAKER_04: It was 3-0.
- 17:07SPEAKER_05: 3-0.
- 17:08SPEAKER_05: All right, all right.
- 17:09SPEAKER_05: Who fumbled?
- 17:13SPEAKER_04: Give me some choices.
- 17:15SPEAKER_05: Oh, it's something something with an O.
- 17:17SPEAKER_05: So Nash says that oh my god, that podcast was hilarious.
- 17:24unknown: Okay.
- 17:26SPEAKER_05: It was too funny.
- 17:28SPEAKER_04: This one's not as epic as last year.
- 17:31SPEAKER_05: Seth says Kane is going to freak out.
- 17:34SPEAKER_04: Well, oh, Seth is watching you.
- 17:36SPEAKER_04: Spoiled the sub- I spoiled the surprise.
- 17:38SPEAKER_04: I'm a spooky bat.
- 17:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's what Kane asked for.
- 17:42SPEAKER_04: This costume is because my grandson, I asked him, what do you want me to be for Halloween?
- 17:47SPEAKER_04: And he said, a spooky bat.
- 17:50SPEAKER_04: And since I'm just obsessed with blow-up Halloween costumes, all of our grandsons were dinosaurs.
- 17:55SPEAKER_04: It was hilarious.
- 17:58SPEAKER_04: Lo and behold.
- 17:59SPEAKER_05: There you go.
- 18:00SPEAKER_04: There is a blow-up spooky bat.
- 18:03SPEAKER_05: All right.
- 18:07SPEAKER_05: Are you gonna be able to get out of here?
- 18:09SPEAKER_04: I could always turn the fan off.
- 18:12SPEAKER_04: Oh and then it would have been smart to walk over here and then turn the fan on.
- 18:19SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 18:20SPEAKER_04: Without knocking over.
- 18:22SPEAKER_04: I only knocked over one little bottle.
- 18:23SPEAKER_04: That's pretty good.
- 18:24SPEAKER_04: It's it's fine down there.
- 18:25SPEAKER_05: Green Bay scored a touchdown now, but the he meant but but Smack missed the extra point.
- 18:31SPEAKER_04: What?
- 18:32SPEAKER_05: Don't swear.
- 18:33SPEAKER_04: Smack needs to get smacked.
- 18:34SPEAKER_05: Smack is having some problems and issues.
- 18:37SPEAKER_04: With the short ball.
- 18:38SPEAKER_04: He can kick a 60-yarder, but he can't kick it from like 25.
- 18:42SPEAKER_05: All right, guys, we need to get going.
- 18:44SPEAKER_05: You need to deflate.
- 18:45SPEAKER_05: All right.
- 18:45SPEAKER_05: So, anyways, tonight we are going to be barrel bottle breaking down.
- 18:51SPEAKER_05: All right, so this is the Victorian Pineapple Barbstown Bourbon Company rum barrel finished.
- 19:01SPEAKER_05: Whiskey and rye.
- 19:02SPEAKER_05: It's a combination of bourbon and rye put together, put in a rum barrel and finished.
- 19:08SPEAKER_05: Okay, it was limited to fewer than 359 liter cases.
- 19:14SPEAKER_05: Oh, 359, yeah, liter, 359 liter cases.
- 19:21SPEAKER_05: The discussion, okay.
- 19:22SPEAKER_05: Bartstone bourbon company's reputation for innovative whiskey blending and barrel finishing.
- 19:27SPEAKER_05: What is a Victoria pineapple?
- 19:31SPEAKER_05: Why use rum barrels that previously held pineapple-influenced rum?
- 19:37SPEAKER_05: And why would you bourbon and why would bourbon enthusiasts be skeptical of this experiment?
- 19:44SPEAKER_05: Well, I'm not skeptical.
- 19:46SPEAKER_05: I think this is something that everybody should be doing, these kind of fun releases.
- 19:52SPEAKER_05: It is a custom blend of Indiana distilled 10 and 11-year-old bourbon and 11-year-old rye.
- 20:01SPEAKER_05: So it's Indiana.
- 20:03SPEAKER_05: So now you're doing this is Bartel Bourbon Company probably using MGP, which is insane.
- 20:13SPEAKER_05: But so rye brings the spice structure and balance.
- 20:21SPEAKER_05: This is a very mature whiskey rather than a young bourbon.
- 20:26SPEAKER_05: And then this is a very unusual finishing process.
- 20:32SPEAKER_05: It was 27 months in Caribbean pineapple rum cask.
- 20:37SPEAKER_05: Fresh pineapple introduced to the barrel, toasted oak staves added to balance the sweetness.
- 20:44SPEAKER_05: So they're going off the deep end on this one as far as what it comes with bourbon and whatever.
- 20:51SPEAKER_05: Now, did we try this?
- 20:52SPEAKER_05: Did we ever?
- 20:53SPEAKER_05: I don't think we ever got a chance to try it because it was sold out at the distillery.
- 20:57SPEAKER_05: I don't think I've had it.
- 20:58SPEAKER_05: I was able to pick this up.
- 21:00SPEAKER_05: Crystal, shout out to you.
- 21:03SPEAKER_05: CT would say the same thing.
- 21:05SPEAKER_05: Oh.
- 21:08SPEAKER_05: We're about to see if they don't.
- 21:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 21:18SPEAKER_05: So here we go.
- 21:21SPEAKER_05: We're opening it.
- 21:23SPEAKER_04: I mean, I I you don't.
- 21:28SPEAKER_05: That is some deffed up shit that just went down.
- 21:31SPEAKER_05: There's only one way to have a bourbon home.
- 21:34SPEAKER_05: You gotta deflate, go over there, come back quickly, and and do some tasting with us while I keep going further with this.
- 21:45SPEAKER_05: Here's a question.
- 21:46SPEAKER_05: Does anybody consider this still?
- 21:49SPEAKER_05: Is this a tri is this like in the tradition of whiskey finishing?
- 21:53SPEAKER_05: Or is this going too far?
- 21:56SPEAKER_05: I mean wow.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: I think you can do whatever you want.
- 22:02SPEAKER_05: Can you smell that?
- 22:05SPEAKER_05: Where's there?
- 22:07SPEAKER_04: Nope.
- 22:07SPEAKER_04: Sorry, can't smell anything.
- 22:09SPEAKER_05: What happens if I pour some in your costume right here?
- 22:16SPEAKER_05: Alright, I'm super excited.
- 22:18SPEAKER_05: We are about to do.
- 22:19SPEAKER_05: I mean, they put fresh pineapple.
- 22:22SPEAKER_05: They actually cut up and push fresh pineapple in the barrel.
- 22:25SPEAKER_05: That's cool.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: That is cool.
- 22:27SPEAKER_05: I think it's cool.
- 22:31SPEAKER_05: So when you do when you do traditional barrel finishing, you're just using the flavors of the barrel.
- 22:38SPEAKER_05: In this case, they're introducing fresh fruit during finishing.
- 22:42SPEAKER_05: So that's like an infusion.
- 22:44SPEAKER_05: So that that's that's that's not just a finished product, right?
- 22:48SPEAKER_04: Is getting in the bourbon.
- 22:50SPEAKER_05: Does adding pineapple change how does I I mean no, it intrigues us.
- 22:55SPEAKER_05: I mean, I think that adding pineapple changed how we perceive the product.
- 22:59SPEAKER_05: No, we like different things.
- 23:01SPEAKER_05: So are the is this an intelligent risk or creating a novelty?
- 23:08SPEAKER_05: I believe the finishing is just the process, no wrong way to do it.
- 23:12SPEAKER_05: That's what O'Sheen says.
- 23:14SPEAKER_05: Tiny says thank you.
- 23:16SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 23:21SPEAKER_05: Well, we're about to say, if you didn't know pineapples, would you ever guess it in the glass?
- 23:26SPEAKER_05: We'll find out.
- 23:26SPEAKER_05: So here's the bar barrel bottle breakdown.
- 23:30SPEAKER_05: Here it is.
- 23:31SPEAKER_05: Right now, our barrel bottle breakdown scale is based off of four categories.
- 23:38SPEAKER_05: You've got the nose and the body where you can get up to four knocks on the bat.
- 23:44SPEAKER_05: On the butt barrel.
- 23:47SPEAKER_05: And you've got the taste and the finish, which you can give up to five knocks on the barrel.
- 23:56SPEAKER_05: And if one's exceptional, you can always get one of Roxy's butt-up ups added to one of the categories.
- 24:04SPEAKER_05: So here we go.
- 24:05SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna pour it out.
- 24:07SPEAKER_05: Very excited for this bottle.
- 24:09SPEAKER_05: This bottle was the Packer game, so I'll get enough in there.
- 24:14SPEAKER_05: So somehow you need to deflate and come back so you can taste.
- 24:19SPEAKER_05: And rate.
- 24:22SPEAKER_05: Are you turning that off?
- 24:25unknown: Yeah.
- 24:26unknown: Not as easy as it looks.
- 24:40SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 24:42SPEAKER_05: Just careful on that cord right there.
- 24:46SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 24:50SPEAKER_05: When you come there, she goes.
- 24:52SPEAKER_05: She's popped.
- 24:56SPEAKER_05: All right.
- 24:57SPEAKER_05: Just be careful of the camera, because that's just how we look at each other.
- 25:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yep, yep.
- 25:07SPEAKER_05: You're gonna get out of that right there.
- 25:10SPEAKER_04: I'm not in the camera, am I?
- 25:11SPEAKER_05: No, except for the fact there's a lot of oh, we'll see.
- 25:20SPEAKER_05: You're you're it's hitting the it's turning the camera.
- 25:24SPEAKER_04: It is?
- 25:24SPEAKER_05: That cord, see that cord right there that comes out of the back of the camera?
- 25:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:30SPEAKER_05: And when you bump that, it moves.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: I didn't bump it.
- 25:34SPEAKER_05: The little hook on your thing wants to bump it.
- 25:38SPEAKER_05: Oh, it's good, it's good.
- 25:39SPEAKER_04: Oh, I thought you wanted me to fix it.
- 25:40SPEAKER_05: No, it didn't do it enough, but all right.
- 25:44SPEAKER_05: So while uh while Roxy disrobes.
- 26:01SPEAKER_04: I can't come around the other side because I was naked in here.
- 26:07SPEAKER_05: Okay, no.
- 26:12SPEAKER_05: No, that you're not gonna no one will see that.
- 26:15SPEAKER_05: It's I'm I'm naked, I'm naked from the waist down.
- 26:21SPEAKER_04: Just like in every five days.
- 26:23SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I never wear pants.
- 26:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah, uh you were you're not made up.
- 26:29SPEAKER_05: You were made up to be a bat.
- 26:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah, exactly.
- 26:31SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 26:36SPEAKER_05: So Nash is giving it a three on the nose.
- 26:39SPEAKER_04: That's batonimity.
- 26:41SPEAKER_04: I get like one of those umbody laughing at my jokes tonight.
- 26:47SPEAKER_04: Are they weak?
- 26:48SPEAKER_05: We're the only ones here to laugh.
- 26:52SPEAKER_05: I get like that spiced rum candy, that rum candy.
- 26:58SPEAKER_05: Those hard candies that are rum.
- 27:01SPEAKER_05: Tell me what your nose is.
- 27:06SPEAKER_05: He gives Nash gives it a three.
- 27:22SPEAKER_04: I get a hint of pineapple on the nose.
- 27:27SPEAKER_05: I get a lot of rum, like that rum candy.
- 27:30SPEAKER_04: To me, it smells like if this makes sense, how the butter brown sugar in a pineapple upside down cake tastes when you just lick the.
- 27:41SPEAKER_05: It's a butter rum birthers.
- 27:45SPEAKER_04: No, it's that.
- 27:46SPEAKER_04: It's it's because that has no pineapple, so it's more like the pineapple upside down cake sauce.
- 27:52SPEAKER_04: That's what it, that's the nose.
- 27:55SPEAKER_05: Oh, that is cool.
- 27:57SPEAKER_05: The brewers brought out the World Series trophy at Lambeau during a timeout.
- 28:02SPEAKER_04: Oh man.
- 28:03SPEAKER_05: How many brewers were there?
- 28:05SPEAKER_04: I want to see that.
- 28:06SPEAKER_05: We will.
- 28:08SPEAKER_04: We're just gonna rewind it.
- 28:09SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 28:12SPEAKER_05: Oh my god.
- 28:13SPEAKER_05: Okay, there is a you know it opened up now.
- 28:16SPEAKER_05: It was a little bit oh, oh my god, that's an awesome nose.
- 28:19SPEAKER_05: I I find you can rechange, Nash, if you smell it now.
- 28:23SPEAKER_05: If you want to take it to a four.
- 28:27SPEAKER_05: The brewers are at the what brewers are at the the Packer game?
- 28:32SPEAKER_05: They're back in in Wisconsin?
- 28:34SPEAKER_04: That's awesome.
- 28:36SPEAKER_05: All right, I that nose too.
- 28:38SPEAKER_04: I will give the nose a four.
- 28:39SPEAKER_05: I do too.
- 28:40SPEAKER_04: Because I think that that brown sugar, butter, pineapple, pineapple upside down cake.
- 28:48SPEAKER_04: The rum nose with the rum, with the hint of the rum, and actually that makes me want to put rum the next time I make a pineapple upside down cake, is like delicious and yummy.
- 29:00SPEAKER_05: And they took the world series thing.
- 29:03SPEAKER_05: Oh, is is one of them McGill?
- 29:05SPEAKER_05: Because if McGill's there, it makes total sense because he's there to drink beer.
- 29:10SPEAKER_05: Because I mean, that man, I I you got it.
- 29:14SPEAKER_05: Okay, so next is the body.
- 29:16SPEAKER_05: So there you go.
- 29:17SPEAKER_05: In the glass, it's it's heavy and thick.
- 29:20SPEAKER_04: It is, it has very long legs.
- 29:22SPEAKER_05: This, it is the proof was right up here.
- 29:26SPEAKER_05: It's$139.99.
- 29:29SPEAKER_04: Six proof.
- 29:29SPEAKER_05: That's$106 proof, but it's$139.99 MSRP for.
- 29:35SPEAKER_04: Here is the proof, and it's$139.99.
- 29:37SPEAKER_04: I'm just trying to help you be more, you know.
- 29:41SPEAKER_05: Where do you have your microphone?
- 29:42SPEAKER_05: Yes, you do.
- 29:45SPEAKER_05: All right.
- 29:55SPEAKER_05: M.
- 29:56SPEAKER_05: F.
- 29:59SPEAKER_05: Wow, is that sweet?
- 30:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:02SPEAKER_04: It's got a pretty good body.
- 30:04SPEAKER_04: It fills your whole mouth.
- 30:06SPEAKER_04: It gets on the palate.
- 30:07SPEAKER_04: I'm getting I got some nice heat in my cheeks.
- 30:10SPEAKER_04: Cheeks heat.
- 30:11SPEAKER_05: It's thick and rich.
- 30:14SPEAKER_05: It's probably a three out of four.
- 30:16SPEAKER_04: It drinks rum-like.
- 30:18SPEAKER_04: I would say three three out of four also.
- 30:23SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 30:24SPEAKER_04: As thick as rum, but it drinks rum-like when you sip it.
- 30:29SPEAKER_05: It has a pineapple finish.
- 30:30SPEAKER_04: It does.
- 30:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:32SPEAKER_04: It's got that sort of dry tang that pineapple leaves in your mouth after you eat.
- 30:38SPEAKER_05: Three on the.
- 30:39SPEAKER_04: We all said three.
- 30:46SPEAKER_05: That's a nine.
- 30:49SPEAKER_05: Three, three, three.
- 30:50SPEAKER_05: All right.
- 30:51SPEAKER_05: So now we're up to taste, which can go to five.
- 30:57SPEAKER_04: I really like the taste of it.
- 31:06SPEAKER_05: It tastes like the pineapple.
- 31:10SPEAKER_05: It's if you poured bourbon, the the can of pineapple juice that we used to buy.
- 31:16SPEAKER_04: It tastes to me like a rum pineapple drink.
- 31:20SPEAKER_04: Like if I had a rum pineapple drink, that would be the taste.
- 31:25SPEAKER_04: I get that rum pineapple drinking.
- 31:27SPEAKER_04: I don't try to.
- 31:28SPEAKER_05: So I mean, let's just let's just rate it on on what it is.
- 31:36SPEAKER_05: It's fantastic.
- 31:37SPEAKER_05: It's delicious.
- 31:38SPEAKER_05: It's like everything I want.
- 31:41SPEAKER_05: I don't think it's a five, but it's definitely four out of five for me.
- 31:48SPEAKER_05: Nash says four to tart pineapple, sweet molasses.
- 31:52SPEAKER_04: Yep, I'm I'm I will give it a four because I could just sit there and drink that all day long.
- 31:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 31:58SPEAKER_04: So that's the reason.
- 32:01SPEAKER_04: That the taste is.
- 32:03SPEAKER_05: Where you'd want you'd want to take this bottle to Florida and drink it on the beach.
- 32:09SPEAKER_05: Well, I think I think CT probably.
- 32:14SPEAKER_04: You know how delicious this would be in a pineapple slushy or a or even if you put this in a pina colada.
- 32:22unknown: Oh my god.
- 32:23SPEAKER_05: Like the coconut and the pineapple.
- 32:27SPEAKER_05: The rum in the coconut and shake it all up.
- 32:31SPEAKER_04: We're definitely gonna make a pina colada with this.
- 32:33SPEAKER_04: A bourbon pina colada would be delicious.
- 32:36SPEAKER_05: But we need something that that'll crush the ice.
- 32:40SPEAKER_04: We do.
- 32:41SPEAKER_04: We have a Vitamix, it'll crush the ice.
- 32:43SPEAKER_04: You just have to give it out.
- 32:44SPEAKER_05: Okay, there you go.
- 32:46SPEAKER_05: All right, so what are you giving the taste?
- 32:49SPEAKER_05: I give it a four.
- 32:52SPEAKER_04: I think it's delicious.
- 33:01SPEAKER_05: Alright, it's tough.
- 33:03SPEAKER_05: How is it a medium finish?
- 33:08SPEAKER_05: It's delicious.
- 33:10SPEAKER_04: So here's what happens on the finish, which is gonna make the score lower for finish.
- 33:17SPEAKER_04: So you're not drinking this for a finish, I guess.
- 33:22SPEAKER_04: Um it starts out good, really sweet, like you're like, oh, that's gonna be a really good finish.
- 33:28SPEAKER_04: And then all of a sudden it gets dry and a little oaky and a little bit bitter from the must be from the rum or maybe the you know acid in the pineapple.
- 33:50SPEAKER_04: I'm not saying it's bad.
- 33:51SPEAKER_04: I'm just saying that it changes to So what are you giving it?
- 33:58SPEAKER_04: What's the maximum?
- 34:00SPEAKER_05: Five.
- 34:07SPEAKER_04: And it's very, it's not very long.
- 34:10SPEAKER_05: It's I don't know.
- 34:12SPEAKER_05: What do you mean, not long?
- 34:13SPEAKER_05: I mean, we go up no finishes have to do with what's left.
- 34:17SPEAKER_05: It's taste.
- 34:18SPEAKER_05: I mean, uh, I'll go upstairs in 20 minutes, and uh, if I don't drink anything else, I will still taste pineapple.
- 34:24SPEAKER_05: That's a long, that'll be a long finish.
- 34:25SPEAKER_04: Okay, so I'll give it a three.
- 34:26SPEAKER_04: I won't, it's not a two finish, it's a three finish.
- 34:30SPEAKER_04: But it's not a four finish.
- 34:32SPEAKER_05: I give it a four finish.
- 34:34SPEAKER_04: Of course you do.
- 34:36SPEAKER_05: And Nash gives it a five finish.
- 34:38SPEAKER_04: What?
- 34:40SPEAKER_04: He likes that.
- 34:41SPEAKER_04: He likes that one.
- 34:42SPEAKER_05: He likes the pineapple, yeah.
- 34:44SPEAKER_04: So hurt pineapple-y.
- 34:47SPEAKER_05: So I gave it a four and Nash gave it a five, which then equaled us out because let's go to Martin Nash.
- 35:03SPEAKER_04: It's buttery.
- 35:06SPEAKER_05: He gave the nose a three, he gave the body a three, he gave the taste a four, seven, that's ten, and he gave the finish a five for fifteen.
- 35:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:22SPEAKER_05: Now I gave four on the nose.
- 35:28SPEAKER_05: We both gave it four on the nose, and then gave it a three, I I gave it a three, which is seven on the body.
- 35:42SPEAKER_05: Three out of four, four, the nose was a three out of four.
- 35:46SPEAKER_05: No, I gave the nose a four, a three, a four.
- 35:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we both gave the nose a four.
- 35:52SPEAKER_05: And he gave the nose a three.
- 35:53SPEAKER_05: So we were one ahead.
- 35:54SPEAKER_05: Then we all gave it a a three out of four on the on the body.
- 36:00SPEAKER_05: The taste.
- 36:01SPEAKER_04: We gave a four out of four.
- 36:05SPEAKER_05: We all gave fours.
- 36:07SPEAKER_05: And so Nash was one behind us, but then I gave it a four, and he gave it a five.
- 36:16SPEAKER_04: So And I gave it a three.
- 36:18SPEAKER_05: So he gave it a fifteen, I gave it a fifteen, and you gave it a fourteen.
- 36:24SPEAKER_05: So it's fourteen and a third.
- 36:27SPEAKER_05: Let's just say 14.5 is what we give this pineapple Victoria pineapple rum barrel finish.
- 36:36SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's it's fantastic.
- 36:38SPEAKER_05: I would I now, is it as far as value at 140?
- 36:43SPEAKER_05: Is it 140 good?
- 36:45SPEAKER_05: And if you're if you're spending that kind of money, I mean 27 months is serious time in a in a in a cast.
- 36:56SPEAKER_04: I will say yes, it's 140 good.
- 36:59SPEAKER_04: And I'll tell you why.
- 37:00SPEAKER_04: Because you, I mean, if you do, if you're out there in the world and you do find it, you know, it it's a limited edition.
- 37:08SPEAKER_04: It's not something that's ever gonna happen again.
- 37:13SPEAKER_04: It's very unique.
- 37:16SPEAKER_04: I I think these types of products can't be$89.
- 37:24SPEAKER_05: Well, no, but at the same time, they did.
- 37:27SPEAKER_04: And$139 is not so high that's$200 or you can ask the question question, is it worth$140?
- 37:36SPEAKER_05: But then if it wasn't worth$140, it would have gone across and there wouldn't have they.
- 37:42SPEAKER_04: It wouldn't have sold out in five cents.
- 37:43SPEAKER_05: Well, it's sold out at the distillery.
- 37:45SPEAKER_05: They sold all of Let me see, where was that?
- 37:51SPEAKER_05: 359 1 liter cases.
- 37:55SPEAKER_04: So there was three hundred and fifty-nine liter cases.
- 38:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 38:01SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 38:04SPEAKER_05: Oh, nine liter cases.
- 38:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 38:06SPEAKER_05: So that's 350 nine liter cases, meaning that nine a case, what's nine times three fifty?
- 38:14SPEAKER_05: Twenty s nine times three fifty has to be twenty seven hundred times.
- 38:22SPEAKER_04: It's like nine times five, forty-five, so nine times three is twelve twenty seven hundred.
- 38:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but then nine times point five is another four fifty, so it's like thirty one hundred bottles, and they basically sold out.
- 38:38SPEAKER_05: They were sold out.
- 38:39SPEAKER_05: We were lucky to get this, and once again, Crystal Pratt was very kind to us, and we thank her.
- 38:46SPEAKER_05: So that's kind of where we're at.
- 38:50SPEAKER_05: I mean, 14.5, and I think it's I think it's worth it.
- 38:54SPEAKER_05: That's just what we want.
- 38:55SPEAKER_05: You know what I mean?
- 38:56SPEAKER_05: So, I mean, the limited availability, the thing, if they do something like this, you we'd probably definitely be in, correct?
- 39:07SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 39:09SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 39:12SPEAKER_04: All right, this bat is flying the hoop.
- 39:15SPEAKER_05: Have a good one, John.
- 39:16SPEAKER_05: John is saying goodbye.
- 39:17SPEAKER_05: Roxy says goodbye, also, John.
- 39:20SPEAKER_05: Yep, the bat's flying the hoop.
- 39:24SPEAKER_05: There we go.
- 39:25SPEAKER_05: So, I mean, I'm just in heaven with the brewers, and they they're they're world champions, and if they go into work stoppage, I'm even okay with that because they'll be world champions longer.
- 39:46SPEAKER_05: But this was a bourbon, I think.
- 39:48SPEAKER_05: No, you know, this was not something, this is unique and not a lot of people doing it, and really the introduction of pineapple into the bourbon.
- 39:56SPEAKER_05: Whoever's idea what this was was a good idea.
- 40:00SPEAKER_05: And that just brings us to that's it, guys.
- 40:04SPEAKER_05: That's what we're gonna do tonight.
