Transcript
- 0:25Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to Pandemonium, the pop culture game show
- 0:29Speaker 1: that shines a spotlight onto everyone's favorite fandoms. I'm your
- 0:33Speaker 1: games master and evil crime lord who is actually an
- 0:36Speaker 1: ancient dragon, Matt Watson.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yeah, which is after good. Now you'll find out.
- 0:42Speaker 1: You'll find out the coolest Jackie Chan property there is.
- 0:48Speaker 1: But a games master needs games, and games need players,
- 0:51Speaker 1: so please welcome.
- 0:52Speaker 2: First.
- 0:52Speaker 1: He is a musician and Gateleaper's regular, and he's also
- 0:56Speaker 1: a Chan fan, so screw it, I'm making him team
- 0:59Speaker 1: captain the episode.
- 1:00Speaker 2: It's Chris Reagan.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Hey what, yes, you were absolutely right. I am a
- 1:06Speaker 3: huge Chan fan. Huge, you know.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Look I love a rhyme with Chris.
- 1:13Speaker 1: He is our og captain, a fantastic artist, and also
- 1:16Speaker 1: has the initials JC, just not as a stage name
- 1:20Speaker 1: on this podcast. It's Jason. Don't talk to me, sorry,
- 1:28Speaker 1: people can't know your Jesus. Christ Welcome, Chris, Welcome, Jason.
- 1:34Speaker 1: How are you both? I'm awesome. I'm loving good. Yeah.
- 1:39Speaker 2: When Christy and we are together, nothing gets accomplished, not
- 1:42Speaker 2: at all statistically ready to lose, you know, but feeling good,
- 1:47Speaker 2: all the feeling good, all the same.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Nice. Nice Jason, you're dressed very smart today. I feel
- 1:53Speaker 1: like I should point out you're looking very sharp.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I have a job.
- 1:59Speaker 3: That I need people to know that.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I appreciate you coming straight from the office. Yeah, it's
- 2:06Speaker 1: the recording Boo's lovely stuff. I think you're dressed in
- 2:09Speaker 1: everyday clothes, just like the subject of today's episode often
- 2:13Speaker 1: is before he breaks out into some kind of.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I gonna say, I'm very detective Lee right now if
- 2:18Speaker 2: we have to, if you have to give me a Moniker.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Maybe not so much as the spy next door Sean,
- 2:23Speaker 2: but my favorite Jackie Chan is always going to be
- 2:26Speaker 2: rush Hour. That's my favorite Jackie.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Champ property nice.
- 2:29Speaker 2: So maybe I'm channeling that. We'll say that.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, Jason, So you're a big Jackie Chan fan.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Huge, huge.
- 2:38Speaker 2: I mean, as a child growing up in the two thousands,
- 2:42Speaker 2: that's what everyone will call me. I am Asian American,
- 2:45Speaker 2: but also like it's also it's one used to like
- 2:49Speaker 2: bully me or eject me to my race, but at
- 2:52Speaker 2: the same time like fucking awesome guy, like my hero,
- 2:56Speaker 2: like growing up, you know, because like he was the guy,
- 2:58Speaker 2: he was the guy in movies and he was always
- 3:01Speaker 2: badass and awesome but also funny. So I was just
- 3:05Speaker 2: I'm just a huge Jackie Chan fan. I haven't seen
- 3:08Speaker 2: all two hundred and fifty sixty seven of his movies.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Fun Well, they're all referenced hits to night. I've seen
- 3:16Speaker 2: the Big Hitters, Drunken Master, the Jackie Chan Adventures Jackie.
- 3:25Speaker 1: And that's all you need, That's all you need. Oh fantastic. Well, Jason,
- 3:30Speaker 1: I believe you're also a Chan fan. Christ you're a
- 3:32Speaker 1: Chan fan?
- 3:32Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh yeah, for sure, for sure. Loved First Strike,
- 3:36Speaker 3: one of my top favorite movies growing up as a kid.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Huge into Rush Hour, Rush Hour and the Shanghai Noon
- 3:44Speaker 3: Slash Shanghai Knights movies. I was rewatching some of them
- 3:51Speaker 3: this last week with Jen and I realized I quote
- 3:53Speaker 3: these movies to this day and I don't even realize it,
- 3:56Speaker 3: and rewatching them after like ten years, twenty years and
- 4:00Speaker 3: some honestly, for First Strike, I was like, oh my god,
- 4:03Speaker 3: that's what that's from. Yeah, it is deeply, it is
- 4:07Speaker 3: deeply ingrained in there.
- 4:08Speaker 2: What are some of these quotes that you're saying, Uh,
- 4:10Speaker 2: there's okay, there's just this one part in First Strike
- 4:15Speaker 2: where there's a character who like she hasn't seen her
- 4:19Speaker 2: brother in a very long time, and she.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Just goes brother because it's like the really bad dub
- 4:24Speaker 3: like the nineties.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Chant ones the new line dub every time I yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 4: every time I say I say that brother like that
- 4:34Speaker 4: a lot, and I realized that that was what it
- 4:36Speaker 4: was from.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Yeah, that's just one though. So Niche, Holy shit, so Niche.
- 4:45Speaker 3: I didn't get my own reference. It was so.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Niche rediscovered where your personality came from exactly.
- 4:54Speaker 3: It was huge. This chant is huge for me.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Fantastic of course, as I mentioned, Chris, you're our team
- 5:01Speaker 1: captain means anything, but you have authority over Jason.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I guess I don't know how that works, but.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I think it's about goddamn time. But no, we are
- 5:14Speaker 3: going to lose, so I'm.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Well, we'll find out, because let's introduce your opponents. He
- 5:21Speaker 1: is an author, podcaster, and games master of BFYW and
- 5:26Speaker 1: he's also a Jackie fanatic. So screw it, I'm making
- 5:29Speaker 1: him team captain for this episode. It's Aaron Randolph.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Hey, guys, I feel it maybe perhaps wildly inappropriate that
- 5:38Speaker 5: you're putting the two white guys in charge of an
- 5:40Speaker 5: Asian man and a woman.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Did you think about it until now? But the optics
- 5:46Speaker 2: are bad? Maybe not great gang.
- 5:50Speaker 5: Maybe not the best time to switch that up, but.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Escapeism.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and she is our evergreen panelist, a comedian an
- 6:00Speaker 1: improviser who works in STEM, which today stands for Strike
- 6:03Speaker 1: True Epic.
- 6:04Speaker 6: Man.
- 6:05Speaker 2: It's Audra Stephenson. Hello, Hello, Hello, Audra, Hello Aaron? How
- 6:11Speaker 2: are you both doing?
- 6:12Speaker 5: Oh good? Just chazz to be here, man.
- 6:15Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm doing great. I'm having a great time.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Good.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Look, we're recording this at a certain time in American history,
- 6:23Speaker 1: but we're here to have fun. We're here to have fun.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:27Speaker 2: The world isn't ending.
- 6:28Speaker 5: And we are going to have fun and no one
- 6:31Speaker 5: is going to stop us.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Have fun.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Just practicing authoritarianism, Okay, Chris is practicing crime.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll call it practicing.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Aaron.
- 6:52Speaker 2: We'll start with you. Are you are a Jackie Chan fan?
- 6:55Speaker 6: Oh?
- 6:55Speaker 5: Huge. I I didn't come across Jackie, and I knew
- 7:00Speaker 5: of him, but I had never really been exposed to
- 7:03Speaker 5: his work until I landed a gig like sophomore year
- 7:08Speaker 5: in college to do the Wild West stunt show at
- 7:10Speaker 5: a local amusement park and one of my fellow cowboys
- 7:15Speaker 5: was an even bigger Jackie Chan fan than I was,
- 7:18Speaker 5: and they had this little TV and VCR in the
- 7:20Speaker 5: green room where we'd sit and chill between shows, and
- 7:24Speaker 5: he would just bring in movie after movie, and he
- 7:27Speaker 5: started with Drunken Master, which is just one of the
- 7:31Speaker 5: all time greats, and then you know, he brought in
- 7:33Speaker 5: Snake and Eagle Shadow, which came out around the same time.
- 7:38Speaker 5: And then the day my fandom got cemented was the
- 7:41Speaker 5: day he brought in Drunken Master two, which blew my mind,
- 7:47Speaker 5: just absolutely blew my mind out the back of my
- 7:50Speaker 5: head and it just kept going into the street and
- 7:53Speaker 5: scared a child. Once I retrieved my brain and settled
- 7:59Speaker 5: back down, I was like, I'm going to be a
- 8:01Speaker 5: Jackie Chan fan for life, and honestly, like I don't.
- 8:05Speaker 5: He's never let me down. Like everything I've seen with
- 8:07Speaker 5: him in it has been extraordinary. Yeah, so yeah, just
- 8:12Speaker 5: huge fan. Haven't seen everything, so we'll see how today goes.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Sure, but as Jason mentioned, I don't think it was
- 8:18Speaker 1: much of an exaggeration to say two hundred and fifty.
- 8:20Speaker 1: The guy's done a lot of movies. So yeah, if anyone,
- 8:24Speaker 1: anyone listening to this has seen all of the Jackie
- 8:27Speaker 1: Chan movies. Get in touch. You could be on the
- 8:29Speaker 1: sequel to this episode.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, yeah, Jackie Chan.
- 8:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I would love to meet and talk Jackie Cham.
- 8:34Speaker 5: That's what we're here to do.
- 8:35Speaker 7: We haven't done the muse segment, but if you have
- 8:37Speaker 7: watched all two hundred and fifty Jackie Chan films, send
- 8:40Speaker 7: me your muse.
- 8:41Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, please gay labors at gmail dot com.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Now, oh perfect, Look at that promotion. Ore, I'll move
- 8:50Speaker 1: over that seamless transition by mentioning it. Oh, dre, you're
- 8:53Speaker 1: a fan of Jackie Cham.
- 8:55Speaker 7: I am. My media consumption was kind of limited growing up,
- 8:59Speaker 7: but we loved Jackie Chan in my household, and I
- 9:03Speaker 7: watched a lot of Jackie Chan movies, especially when I
- 9:05Speaker 7: was six, So I'm kind of grateful for being a
- 9:07Speaker 7: sickly child, I got to watch a lot of them
- 9:12Speaker 7: over and over. I did not watch growing up Drunken Master.
- 9:18Speaker 7: Oh he's the best at being drunk. Oh, he's incredibly
- 9:23Speaker 7: skillful at alcohol. He can do absolutely anything the best
- 9:29Speaker 7: when he's drunk. They couldn't have me falling to the
- 9:31Speaker 7: sin of pride.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Yeah's probably for the childhood education.
- 9:40Speaker 7: Yeah, but I watched a lot of other Jackie Chan films.
- 9:44Speaker 1: His wholesome family movies. Maybe maybe a bit more. They're
- 9:49Speaker 1: allowed in a Christian household, you know, the spy next door,
- 9:52Speaker 1: the medallion.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Look out, mosquitoes. Those mosquitos are gonna come kill every
- 10:01Speaker 3: the ultimate dad guy.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Remember all these answers for very soon. Oh, that's that's good.
- 10:08Speaker 1: We've I think everyone here is a fan of Jackie Chen.
- 10:10Speaker 1: That's uh, that's pretty good going. It's how often do
- 10:14Speaker 1: we have that. We've usually got someone who's like, what
- 10:16Speaker 1: am I doing here?
- 10:17Speaker 3: Gang?
- 10:18Speaker 2: Sorry, I don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I've ever done that.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Okay, Teams, you're trying to get on with your everyday
- 10:27Speaker 1: life as just totally normal guys, but a team of
- 10:30Speaker 1: masked assassins have shown up to kill you. You easily
- 10:34Speaker 1: dispatch them as though you're secretly trained in martial arts
- 10:37Speaker 1: or something. But you're going to need to tell the
- 10:39Speaker 1: police who you are. So I'd like each pair to
- 10:42Speaker 1: come up with a Jackie Chan themed team name.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Please. Let's start with Chris and Jason. What have you got?
- 10:47Speaker 5: Okay?
- 10:48Speaker 3: I came up with three nice so the first one
- 10:52Speaker 3: very you know, right down right down the line, the
- 10:57Speaker 3: drunken masters, Yes, naturally. And then I had a jacked ease.
- 11:05Speaker 3: I like it, you know, a little bit of.
- 11:07Speaker 2: A stretch, a pair of jackedese. Yeah, some Jack D's.
- 11:12Speaker 2: I feel like that could that like saying it enough
- 11:15Speaker 2: will we'll eventually get to it sounds like something we
- 11:19Speaker 2: don't want it to sound like. Probably I didn't think
- 11:21Speaker 2: that far ahead, so it's whatever.
- 11:24Speaker 3: And then the third one is just everyday police officers
- 11:27Speaker 3: because that's that's what he plays in ninety percent of
- 11:30Speaker 3: his movies.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I think, Yeah, I think ninety. I think I did
- 11:32Speaker 2: the Math and it's ninety. Yeah, it's gonna be ninety.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:36Speaker 2: I like those jack these. Yeah, it's gonna be really
- 11:40Speaker 2: hard for me not to say Jack D's nuts for
- 11:43Speaker 2: that one. I think that's my only complaint about that one.
- 11:46Speaker 2: That's fair, fair complaint. Do you have any Yeah, the
- 11:53Speaker 2: ones that I have kind of kind of down the
- 11:54Speaker 2: line as well, Like I have the improvised weapons. Yeah,
- 11:59Speaker 2: I've got Noddy Boys because I just looked up his
- 12:01Speaker 2: filmography and I went, that's really funny.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Also on my leg I saw that and it didn't
- 12:08Speaker 3: even occur to me. God damn it. Love it.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Boys. Oh maybe we take that from them. I have
- 12:17Speaker 2: pikes Peak Nights. I didn't like that one as much.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I really like this one though, the gay rat Dads,
- 12:24Speaker 2: which more yeah, because Jackie Chan plays Splinter in the
- 12:29Speaker 2: Newest Teenage Mean and Ninja Turtle movies or rat Dads.
- 12:33Speaker 2: But then there was like this rumor that the like,
- 12:36Speaker 2: the person he hooks up with at the end of
- 12:38Speaker 2: the movie was like a man. So forever people were like,
- 12:42Speaker 2: Splitter's not gay and all this other stuff.
- 12:45Speaker 3: And Splinter hooks up with someone at the end of
- 12:48Speaker 3: the movie.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Not like hooks up, but like, yeah, he gets together
- 12:51Speaker 2: with like a mutant bug and the mute bug doesn't
- 12:54Speaker 2: really have gender, okay, yeah, yeah yeah. But then people
- 12:58Speaker 2: were like, oh, it's he So all the internet was
- 13:02Speaker 2: like smart can't be gay and to be gay?
- 13:05Speaker 3: Yeah exactly.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I think it's better and it's cooler because Jackie Chan
- 13:08Speaker 2: has certain views on that, and I think it's funnier
- 13:11Speaker 2: if Splinter is gay Jackie Chan having those views, you know,
- 13:18Speaker 2: I like it's a it's a protest name. I like it.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not a my my top two uh naughty
- 13:26Speaker 3: boys and and and gay rat dads. I like I
- 13:30Speaker 3: like those two.
- 13:31Speaker 2: I like this. Those are hard choices. I think they're
- 13:33Speaker 2: perfect for us as well. I just want to say that, well,
- 13:36Speaker 2: I guess captain's choice.
- 13:38Speaker 3: I feel like naughty boys is going to be easier
- 13:40Speaker 3: to say at the final round. Absolutely, and I'm gonna
- 13:46Speaker 3: I want to steal it from really getting their head
- 13:51Speaker 3: for like like up tops get.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all right, all right boys, but also Chris
- 14:00Speaker 1: not going with the protest one shows by Chris's opinion
- 14:02Speaker 1: soccer guys, I just don't want to guys. Come on,
- 14:09Speaker 1: you just shaved your head, Chris. Okay, we have the
- 14:15Speaker 1: naughty boys, let's find out who they're going to be
- 14:17Speaker 1: facing Aaron all try.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Well, as for usual, I went down the root of
- 14:23Speaker 5: trying to name one after address. So I have odd
- 14:26Speaker 5: drunken masters. Yes, I have add drunken boxing. Basically all
- 14:32Speaker 5: of them were drunk but I also came up with
- 14:36Speaker 5: some takes on some of his movies. So there's well.
- 14:40Speaker 5: The first one I would was like a take on
- 14:43Speaker 5: a like if he ran for president.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Jackie Can that's awesome.
- 14:50Speaker 5: I came up with a couple based on some of
- 14:51Speaker 5: the names of his movies. I like Panelists, Story and
- 14:56Speaker 5: Last Strike, but also just one that popped into my
- 14:59Speaker 5: head as we were talking because I can't get the
- 15:02Speaker 5: name of one of my favorite villains and a Jackie
- 15:04Speaker 5: Chip movie out of my head, thunder Legs.
- 15:10Speaker 2: That is fantastic. I mean I like it.
- 15:14Speaker 7: I had mostly plays on Jackie chan films as well.
- 15:18Speaker 7: Naughty Boys was just unchanged. I also had instead of
- 15:23Speaker 7: winners and sinners, I had winners and winners.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Cannonball fun.
- 15:34Speaker 7: I haven't been drinking a lot lately, and so I
- 15:37Speaker 7: get drunk quite quickly, so I had drunken Faster, drunken Faster,
- 15:46Speaker 7: And both of our names start with A.
- 15:48Speaker 2: So project A, project E of course.
- 15:53Speaker 5: Yeah no, I signed in done, that's it.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Project A heck yes, oh yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 5: I can't believe I didn't think of that.
- 16:02Speaker 7: I was just looking at some stunt compilations today and
- 16:05Speaker 7: that popped up, and I was like, oh shit, I'm
- 16:07Speaker 7: just gonna write that.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Down real quick.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Well, the Naughty Boys couldn't break the spirit of who
- 16:12Speaker 1: are now known as Project Ay. That's some great team
- 16:14Speaker 1: unity there, all right. And if you're listening to this
- 16:24Speaker 1: and thinking all I know about Jackie is that he
- 16:27Speaker 1: is attacking. He attacks anyway here to help.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Right now of things that rhyme?
- 16:39Speaker 3: Who said that's a rhyme thing?
- 16:41Speaker 2: No one told you to do that. That was a brief.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I set myself anyway here to help his order with
- 16:49Speaker 1: a little segment we like to call passing knowledge.
- 16:53Speaker 7: Jackie Chan is an actor, director, writer, producer, martial artist
- 16:58Speaker 7: and stuntman on in the film screen. He's known for
- 17:02Speaker 7: his slapstick, acrobatic fighting style, comedic timing, and innovative stunts,
- 17:08Speaker 7: which he typically performs himself and off of film screens.
- 17:12Speaker 7: He's known for that one meme where he looks really confused.
- 17:16Speaker 7: Jackie Chan began with bit parts and stunt work in
- 17:19Speaker 7: Hong Kong in the mid sixties. As words spread about
- 17:22Speaker 7: his skill, he got larger and larger roles until he
- 17:25Speaker 7: was a huge star in Asia and Europe by the
- 17:28Speaker 7: seventies and eighties with films like Project A, Wheels On
- 17:32Speaker 7: Meals and Drunken Master. He finally broke America in the
- 17:36Speaker 7: nineteen nineties with Rush Hour in nineteen ninety eight and
- 17:40Speaker 7: Shanghai Noon in two thousand. This makes him like sausages,
- 17:43Speaker 7: apple pie and fascism. Europe had them for ages, but
- 17:47Speaker 7: America has decided that they are now quintessential American culture.
- 17:52Speaker 7: Jackie Chan is regarded as one of the most iconic
- 17:55Speaker 7: and influential martial artists in the history of cinema. For
- 18:00Speaker 7: good reason. His work seamlessly melds martial arts with physical comedy.
- 18:05Speaker 7: It's like a fusion of Bruce Lee and Buster Keaton
- 18:09Speaker 7: if that fusion was also like really super into defending
- 18:13Speaker 7: the Chinese Communist Party. Jackie Chan has hung off of
- 18:17Speaker 7: moving trucks, dove through glass, and even base jumped onto
- 18:21Speaker 7: the top of a hot air balloon. It seems the
- 18:24Speaker 7: only risk he isn't willing to take is challenging me
- 18:27Speaker 7: in a fandom game show.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Let's play Pandemonium, Thank you, Audra.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Just before we get to today's games, I've asked each
- 18:36Speaker 1: player to bring in a muse, something that inspires them
- 18:40Speaker 1: or something they love from this particular fantom. This time
- 18:43Speaker 1: a man Jackie Chan is inspiring to me because he
- 18:47Speaker 1: advocates for the Chinese Communist Party the way I wish
- 18:50Speaker 1: I could advocate for myself. Keep inspiring the people, Jackie,
- 18:56Speaker 1: he says, a controversial one he's a pretty controversial figure.
- 19:00Speaker 1: But Jason with that what's your meuse?
- 19:02Speaker 2: Hopefully this is less controversial here. But Jackie Chan's improvised
- 19:06Speaker 2: fighting style is very inspirational to me. I think there's
- 19:09Speaker 2: two life lessons that I could take out of this three.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I thought of a third one right now. One is
- 19:16Speaker 2: always adapt be flexible within your reality. Learn to improvise
- 19:21Speaker 2: a It's a life saving skill and almost anything you
- 19:24Speaker 2: could do. Yeah. Two, be decisive. Motherfuckers are coming at you,
- 19:28Speaker 2: all right. If it's a chair, it's a goddamn chair.
- 19:30Speaker 2: If it's a ladder, it's a goddamn ladder. Yeah, stick
- 19:33Speaker 2: with it.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Three.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Choose good furniture for yourself, sturdy, good furniture. Yeah, life lessons.
- 19:41Speaker 7: You never know when you're gonna have to jump off
- 19:43Speaker 7: of it, when it's going to have to block bullets exactly.
- 19:46Speaker 2: When you choose an onoman, can you pick it up?
- 19:48Speaker 2: Can you flip it? Can you wrap it around your
- 19:51Speaker 2: body as protection? And then sits on it at the end. Yeah,
- 19:54Speaker 2: and by the way, also sit on it.
- 19:57Speaker 5: No.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I that's one of the things that makes Jackie Chan
- 20:00Speaker 1: so unique, incorporating the comedy furniture spots into martial arts.
- 20:07Speaker 2: He's the carrot top of the martial arts world. I've
- 20:17Speaker 2: always said that. I think that's the nicest thing anyone
- 20:20Speaker 2: has ever said about.
- 20:27Speaker 7: I didn't know that carrot to advocated to the Chinese
- 20:29Speaker 7: communist red.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Okay, Jason, that's great, muse. One of the most, if
- 20:40Speaker 1: not the most inspiring thing about Jackie I've got to say. So,
- 20:42Speaker 1: if anyone else has that, by all means we can
- 20:45Speaker 1: gush about it some more. So we'll throw things over
- 20:49Speaker 1: to your captain for this episode, Chris, what's inspiring you
- 20:53Speaker 1: about Jackie Chan?
- 20:54Speaker 3: It was very close to saying something similar to Jason,
- 20:57Speaker 3: but I realized something back in the day. Now, this
- 21:01Speaker 3: might also be controversial, but not in the in the
- 21:04Speaker 3: communist Chinese way. So there was a movie that came
- 21:09Speaker 3: out in two thousand and eight called The Forbidden Kingdom.
- 21:14Speaker 3: It is the most white savory movie ever starring the
- 21:18Speaker 3: guy the Kid from Sky High. And there's one specific
- 21:21Speaker 3: reason I really loved this movie. It was the first
- 21:24Speaker 3: movie that it was both Jackie Chan and Jet Lee
- 21:26Speaker 3: and they had a fight and it was so fucking sick.
- 21:29Speaker 3: And I remember seeing it in theaters and I was
- 21:31Speaker 3: like it's happening. It's happening. Oh god, they kicked me
- 21:38Speaker 3: out of the theater. I just remember. That was one
- 21:44Speaker 3: of the one of those like weird moments where I
- 21:47Speaker 3: was super excited about something that nobody else that I
- 21:50Speaker 3: was there with or in the room was excited about.
- 21:53Speaker 3: And it was just like a this is just this
- 21:55Speaker 3: one's for me, kind of a nerd out, and and
- 21:59Speaker 3: it was. It was really great. So that's gonna be
- 22:01Speaker 3: my muse. Is Jackie Chan and Jety finally fucking fighting
- 22:04Speaker 3: each other.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's great.
- 22:08Speaker 1: The two thousands was such a time of like, oh,
- 22:10Speaker 1: what if these two people in cinema for each other,
- 22:13Speaker 1: Jason and Alien and Predator and Jackie Chan and Jetly.
- 22:18Speaker 3: And that's why I j and himself.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Yeah, great, muse, Chris shouting out a favorite Jackie Chan
- 22:27Speaker 1: moment a memory. Lovely stuff. But that's the naughty boys.
- 22:30Speaker 1: We've heard from the naughty bodies. We don't want to
- 22:32Speaker 1: hear from the naughty boys anymore. We want to hear
- 22:33Speaker 1: from Project Ay. Yeah, Aaron, what's inspiring you about Jackie Chan?
- 22:38Speaker 5: Oh? Man, I feel like I've told this story before.
- 22:40Speaker 5: I'm hoping it was just on one of your bonus episodes.
- 22:42Speaker 5: If this is I apologize regular gate Leapers listeners. I
- 22:45Speaker 5: mentioned the Drunken Master two blew my brain out at
- 22:48Speaker 5: the back of my skull, and there's one very specific
- 22:50Speaker 5: moment that I will never forget as long as I live.
- 22:54Speaker 5: Up until I saw a Drunken Master too. I saw
- 22:57Speaker 5: a lot of the nineteen seventies and eighties Jackie Chan movies,
- 23:00Speaker 5: and in every single one, I shit you, not every
- 23:04Speaker 5: single one, at some point he picks up a bench
- 23:08Speaker 5: and starts wrecking people with it. It never fails. He
- 23:14Speaker 5: just he just picks up one of those small benches
- 23:15Speaker 5: for like one person. I don't know why there's so
- 23:17Speaker 5: many of them in China, but he picks.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Up just a lot of people. Yeah, it's gonna be
- 23:24Speaker 1: a lot of benches.
- 23:27Speaker 5: He just starts wrecking people. That be single movie. But
- 23:32Speaker 5: drunk Master to middle of the movie. Uh, he's meeting
- 23:36Speaker 5: his friend in a restaurant and all of a sudden,
- 23:38Speaker 5: everybody in the restaurant is gone, and they're like, where
- 23:40Speaker 5: did everybody go? And they get attacked by like one
- 23:43Speaker 5: hundred dudes wielding axes. So what does Jackie do? Mofo?
- 23:49Speaker 5: Picks up two benches and starts wrecking everybody. When he
- 23:53Speaker 5: picked up the second bench, I lost my mind, Like
- 23:56Speaker 5: I just I literally stood up from my chair and
- 24:00Speaker 5: went no, and just watched him just like swinging wildly
- 24:05Speaker 5: and just crushing people this way and that, and I
- 24:07Speaker 5: was like, oh my god, that was incredible. So I
- 24:11Speaker 5: if I hadn't, if it wouldn't have ruined discussing my muse,
- 24:15Speaker 5: I would have named our team the second bench, because
- 24:19Speaker 5: because that moment will never it will never ever disappear
- 24:23Speaker 5: from my brain because I was just in awe and
- 24:26Speaker 5: didn't expect it and it was just like incredible.
- 24:30Speaker 2: But what if there were two benches?
- 24:32Speaker 7: I wonder if those benches are kind of like quicksand
- 24:36Speaker 7: in like in American cartoons where you're like, I thought,
- 24:39Speaker 7: I thought that this would be a bigger thing in
- 24:41Speaker 7: my life if you.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Went to China.
- 24:43Speaker 7: Yeah, I thought it in the nineteen seventies. Just be like,
- 24:46Speaker 7: there's not actually that many benches here.
- 24:50Speaker 2: They either love sitting alone or they fucking hate arch support.
- 24:53Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 24:53Speaker 1: What's I'm glad they're around for Jackie to fight people.
- 25:00Speaker 2: In story was he followed that from Chris's story. Chris
- 25:04Speaker 2: is like, oh man, these two huge Hong Kong action
- 25:07Speaker 2: film stars, they've just been our zeitgeist for so long.
- 25:10Speaker 2: They're finally meeting. This is the moment. And Aaron went,
- 25:14Speaker 2: that's a fucking second bench.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Shit we go.
- 25:20Speaker 5: I never foreseen it's it's such a small thing, but
- 25:24Speaker 5: I mean, god damn it. If it didn't make like
- 25:27Speaker 5: twenty year old me lose his freaking mind.
- 25:31Speaker 7: And also if that isn't a Jackie Chan fight sequence,
- 25:34Speaker 7: I don't know what is where It's like, oh, that's
- 25:36Speaker 7: a small thing, but it makes sense and it has
- 25:39Speaker 7: a big impact, even though it's just like a now
- 25:41Speaker 7: we're doing two benches and it goes hard.
- 25:43Speaker 5: That is that is one of the best fights I've
- 25:45Speaker 5: ever seen in anything. Is just that that whole sequence
- 25:48Speaker 5: is insane.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I can I can tell it inspired you. It's very
- 25:52Speaker 2: good beat.
- 25:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I would have loved. I went on to do
- 25:55Speaker 5: a lot of stage combat in my theater courses, and
- 25:58Speaker 5: I became a TA because I loved and mostly because
- 26:02Speaker 5: of Jackie Chan. I became like I wanted to do
- 26:05Speaker 5: fights like that. I wanted to do crazy, outlandish things.
- 26:08Speaker 5: But the most outlandish weapon I think we ever used
- 26:11Speaker 5: was a condom filled with mashed potatoes.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Jackie potatoes.
- 26:19Speaker 2: God, I feel.
- 26:22Speaker 7: Like I don't know eight ten drug smugglers.
- 26:27Speaker 3: At least at least uh huh?
- 26:31Speaker 2: What was the what was the prop for?
- 26:32Speaker 1: Anyway, we'll over to your project A teammates autro. What's
- 26:40Speaker 1: inspiring you about Jackie Chan?
- 26:42Speaker 7: I am inspired by Jackie Chan's one of his world records.
- 26:46Speaker 7: One of his world records is that he has fifteen
- 26:49Speaker 7: credits on the same film is Chinese Zodiac. He wrote it,
- 26:57Speaker 7: he directed it, he stars in itado, he did props,
- 27:01Speaker 7: he did catering, he did he Yeah, he genuinely has
- 27:07Speaker 7: fifteen credits. So that has inspired me to kind of
- 27:11Speaker 7: get the recognition I fucking deserve on this podcast. So
- 27:14Speaker 7: I have sixteen credits that I'm gonna whoa what I'm
- 27:18Speaker 7: gonna say? I am talent writer, executive producer, prop coordinator, stuntman,
- 27:26Speaker 7: art director, intimacy coordinator, technical assistant, pyrotechnics, non executive producers,
- 27:35Speaker 7: best boy, best Girl, best non binary, chief shitster, bat wrangler,
- 27:42Speaker 7: nuclear power reactor operator, fully and catering.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 27:48Speaker 7: Those are the credits that I insist on having my
- 27:51Speaker 7: name for this production.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Suck it, Jackie Chan, get.
- 27:56Speaker 3: His book of world records. I call him now.
- 27:59Speaker 5: Yes, I dream of being chief shitster on some projects somewhere.
- 28:05Speaker 1: So you've got to talk to if you want it
- 28:07Speaker 1: for this game, teach me your ways. I can put
- 28:10Speaker 1: in a good word. Most of those were real as
- 28:12Speaker 1: well as the thing for your.
- 28:14Speaker 5: Waist, master, I will I will sit at defeat and learn.
- 28:18Speaker 5: I'll do obnoxious like montage of training, just like putting absurd.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, soldiers, First you have to literally stir shit.
- 28:25Speaker 1: That's the first task.
- 28:28Speaker 7: I'll strategically delete clips.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Fantastic, very inspiring players and do send us your Jackie
- 28:36Speaker 1: Chan muses to Gatesleepers at gmail dot com and order
- 28:39Speaker 1: will read them out on a future episode of Bonus Round.
- 28:43Speaker 7: Yes, anyone can send them in. You can have watched
- 28:47Speaker 7: fewer than two hundred and fifty of Jackie Chance films. Honestly,
- 28:50Speaker 7: if you've seen a clip, I want to know your muse.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Maybe you were inspired by the guy. Yeah, okay, teams,
- 28:56Speaker 1: are we ready for some games?
- 28:58Speaker 5: Hell?
- 28:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, lovely, it was enthusiastic. It was just small
- 29:04Speaker 1: from everyone subdued. Okay, it's time to jump out of
- 29:09Speaker 1: that closed window, which better be sugar glass or I'm
- 29:12Speaker 1: sewing as we leap into round one. Round one is
- 29:19Speaker 1: our classic game of elimination, deliberation, and deception that this
- 29:24Speaker 1: time we're calling I hope you have a Jackie plan.
- 29:29Speaker 1: I'm happy with that rhyme. In turns, I will give
- 29:33Speaker 1: us to use a Jackie Chan.
- 29:35Speaker 5: A strong thing to say.
- 29:40Speaker 2: We're all happy, we're all having a good time. Yeah.
- 29:45Speaker 1: In turns, I will give our teams a Jackie Chan
- 29:48Speaker 1: themed category, followed by a list of five things supposedly
- 29:51Speaker 1: from that category.
- 29:52Speaker 2: One at a time.
- 29:53Speaker 1: They must select the three correct answers for a point each,
- 29:56Speaker 1: but select one of the two fake answers, and I'll
- 29:59Speaker 1: have to choose you out of the list. Sorry, freeze
- 30:02Speaker 1: you out of the list?
- 30:04Speaker 3: Is that like a reference?
- 30:05Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, it's a famous Jackie Chan blooper where
- 30:08Speaker 1: he says he's supposed to say a freeze but he
- 30:10Speaker 1: says cheese.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:11Speaker 3: That's from the RUSSI Hour to blooper.
- 30:12Speaker 9: Real.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I hate that. I know that you've got
- 30:15Speaker 2: the reference that. Oh yeah, I was like, I had
- 30:17Speaker 2: to call it out because I wanted you to be validated.
- 30:20Speaker 2: But also me because I was like, why do I
- 30:22Speaker 2: know that? Let's validate each other. Oh my god.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Okay, the first category, nice and simple. It's going to
- 30:29Speaker 1: be English language Jackie Chan films so produced in the
- 30:34Speaker 1: USA mostly I think, but from his English language era
- 30:38Speaker 1: of films. Are they real or are they fake? And
- 30:41Speaker 1: we are going to begin with the naughty boys. Here
- 30:43Speaker 1: is your list of five Hidden Strike, the Medallion, Shaolin Warrior,
- 30:50Speaker 1: cannon Ball Run two, and Between the Sheets.
- 30:56Speaker 2: So several of these have already been mentioned in the
- 30:57Speaker 2: episode which I really loved.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, cannon Ball Run two, well, so this is
- 31:06Speaker 3: a lockout so definitely Medallion, Beau Medallion for sure.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, cool dallion? Of course was Hidden Strike
- 31:13Speaker 2: the one that you mentioned in your new segment or something?
- 31:15Speaker 3: Did I hear that I didn't mention it?
- 31:16Speaker 10: Now?
- 31:17Speaker 2: Oh ship, Well let's leave. Is Cannonball two actually one
- 31:21Speaker 2: that you know?
- 31:23Speaker 3: I haven't watched it. I know for a fact he
- 31:25Speaker 3: was in the first one. I'm pretty sure there's a
- 31:27Speaker 3: second one. He's gotta be. I feel like I've never
- 31:31Speaker 3: heard of Jackie Chan only doing one of a series.
- 31:34Speaker 3: So he doesn't do he doesn't he doesn't work in
- 31:37Speaker 3: one offs Twitter say Cannonball two.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Saying cannon Ball Run two. It is real. Yes, he
- 31:46Speaker 2: is in Thank God all right now. I think Shallon
- 31:49Speaker 2: Warriors stepped out to me because he's been in a
- 31:51Speaker 2: movie called shall Lynn. Great fucking movie, great fucking movie.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Uh this movie is just people a great with each
- 32:00Speaker 2: I don't understand yeah, to be like, wow, that's a
- 32:04Speaker 2: great movie.
- 32:06Speaker 3: But it's very it's very different from other Jackie Chan movies,
- 32:08Speaker 3: but we're not getting into it. I feel I don't trust.
- 32:13Speaker 2: That one because of how we both know that Shool
- 32:18Speaker 2: is this, so I don't The Sheets is very interesting
- 32:22Speaker 2: because it sounds sexual, and I think it was known
- 32:25Speaker 2: that Jackie Chan wasn't like softcore pornos. Wasn't he but
- 32:30Speaker 2: his English era? Right?
- 32:31Speaker 3: I don't think that would be in his English era.
- 32:34Speaker 3: I feel like if he did that, that was when
- 32:35Speaker 3: he was, you know, when he was twenty and at
- 32:38Speaker 3: his tightest, you know, in his twenties, not specifically twenty.
- 32:44Speaker 3: That came up way worse than That wasn't the part
- 32:49Speaker 3: that I hate it about that.
- 32:52Speaker 2: It was the part I hate. Okay, God, it's a
- 32:58Speaker 2: hidden strike. I thought I heard someone say hidden strike
- 33:00Speaker 2: earlier in this episode.
- 33:01Speaker 3: I put my money on Hidden Strike. Let's do it.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Let's do it, saying you're saying hidden Strike, yeah, not
- 33:07Speaker 1: Between the Sheets. Yeah, it is hidden Strike. It's story
- 33:11Speaker 1: for three. Yeah, Hidden Strikes with John Cena. Oh my god,
- 33:16Speaker 1: I have to watch it. Yeah, they haven't seen that.
- 33:20Speaker 1: What the fuck Aaron oldright now that it's past. Did
- 33:23Speaker 1: one of you mentioned hidden Strike earlier? Because I feel
- 33:25Speaker 1: like someone did make First.
- 33:28Speaker 5: Strike earlier, which is police story four, But yeah, hidden
- 33:35Speaker 5: Strike is a more recent one. Jackie Chanslaer retired general
- 33:37Speaker 5: and Johnsen is like working with a smuggling group or
- 33:40Speaker 5: something like that. They wind up enemies at first, but
- 33:44Speaker 5: then they team up love. It's implied but never shown.
- 33:55Speaker 7: As all stories are.
- 33:58Speaker 1: So yeah, you Shoulin Mario for the act reason shouin
- 34:01Speaker 1: the movie just added warrior on there to make it fake.
- 34:03Speaker 1: And you didn't fall for Between the Sheets. I did
- 34:05Speaker 1: not know about the soft core porn. Maybe that is
- 34:08Speaker 1: a thing. Maybe we'll see if any of the followings
- 34:16Speaker 1: sound like they could be soft core porn films. Because
- 34:18Speaker 1: we've got a list now for Project A. Here are
- 34:21Speaker 1: your five us A slash English language Jackie Chan films
- 34:25Speaker 1: Live by the Blade, Rumble in the Bronx, The nut Job,
- 34:31Speaker 1: to Nutty by Nature, The Forbidden Kingdom, and Operation Panda DROPA.
- 34:42Speaker 5: Okay, well, wow, I forgot the second one already. Bronx
- 34:47Speaker 5: the Bronx absolutely is one.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Yes, in the Bronx, Yes, for a point, it is indeed.
- 34:54Speaker 5: The Forbidden Kingdom. We already went over that absolutely is
- 34:57Speaker 5: one as well.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Yes, and you're happy of that Forbidden Kingdom. Yes, we
- 35:01Speaker 1: really shouldn't have discussed so many of the movies.
- 35:04Speaker 5: I was gonna say, like, get some points on this, Chris,
- 35:07Speaker 5: don't blame yourself for revealing that one. I genuinely love
- 35:10Speaker 5: that movie, so.
- 35:15Speaker 2: I can't remember the other.
- 35:17Speaker 5: Can you go over the other three one more time?
- 35:19Speaker 2: Please? Yes?
- 35:20Speaker 1: Absolutely, we've got Lived by the Blade, The nut Job, Too,
- 35:24Speaker 1: Nutty by Nature, and Operation Panda Drop.
- 35:30Speaker 7: I do, I have no idea. I feel like Operation
- 35:34Speaker 7: Panda Drop maybe like a voice role, like is there, like.
- 35:39Speaker 5: It's jumping out at me and I don't know why.
- 35:41Speaker 5: I don't think it's for a good reason, though I
- 35:45Speaker 5: genuinely don't know. I've never heard of the job. And
- 35:52Speaker 5: Nutty by Nature is such a funny pun that. I
- 35:55Speaker 5: feel like Matt didn't come up with it.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Sorry, Matt, my god shot as.
- 36:07Speaker 2: I'm bleeding, Holy ship, that hit harder than a fucking bench.
- 36:14Speaker 2: About the second one, I'm sorry.
- 36:22Speaker 7: I have no idea which one I should.
- 36:25Speaker 5: We just go with Operation Panda Drop.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do it going with Operation Panda Drop. That
- 36:32Speaker 2: one's fake.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Sorry, Okay, there is a film but he released recently
- 36:36Speaker 1: that looks like it should be called that.
- 36:38Speaker 3: But I was gonna say I remember something about that,
- 36:41Speaker 3: but I don't remember what it was called, So that
- 36:43Speaker 3: totally could have had that.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and I've not written it down. And yet Lived
- 36:48Speaker 1: by the Blade was also fake. It was job Nutty
- 36:52Speaker 1: by nature is real. He did a voice of a
- 36:55Speaker 1: character in The nut Job to speaking of Bond potential
- 36:59Speaker 1: nut Yeah, I mean, come on, yeah, that'd be hardcore. Wait,
- 37:02Speaker 1: but he did a voice in softcore porn.
- 37:05Speaker 5: That's his character and the character John Cena voice get
- 37:10Speaker 5: together in the end, fly.
- 37:14Speaker 2: More than just implied.
- 37:18Speaker 1: All right, next category, it's gonna be as simple as this.
- 37:21Speaker 1: We're gonna move into Jackie Chan's films from Hong Kong
- 37:25Speaker 1: slash Chinese cinema, depending on which era of his career.
- 37:29Speaker 1: It is hmm okay, and we're back on over to
- 37:32Speaker 1: Naughty Boys. So here is your list of five. Enter
- 37:35Speaker 1: the Phoenix, A Most Dangerous Game, Naughty Boys, Dragon Master Spectacular,
- 37:46Speaker 1: and half a loaf of Kung Fu.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Way that's I think I know. I think I know
- 37:52Speaker 3: all three. Oh shit, so obviously it's Naughty Boys.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Obviously obviously Naughty Boys.
- 38:01Speaker 3: And then wait, could you read the first one again?
- 38:04Speaker 2: And to the Phoenix and to the Phoenix. I'm pretty
- 38:06Speaker 2: positive that that's on there. I was looking at as
- 38:09Speaker 2: IMDb earlier today. I'm pretty positive you're taking the captain
- 38:13Speaker 2: the Captain's lead on us and in the in the
- 38:15Speaker 2: style of softcore porn. Don't mind if I do After
- 38:17Speaker 2: the Phoenix, sure up, yeah, that's right, Yes, what a
- 38:21Speaker 2: fuck that bird?
- 38:22Speaker 3: And then I'm I'm fairly certain the last one about
- 38:26Speaker 3: the loaf Israel. What do you guys? Do you have
- 38:29Speaker 3: any thoughts? I'm like eighty percent.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Listen, I only had Naughty Boys, so I'm totally going
- 38:35Speaker 2: with you on this.
- 38:36Speaker 3: Could you reread that one again because I already forgot
- 38:38Speaker 3: what it was?
- 38:39Speaker 2: Half a loaf of kung fu?
- 38:41Speaker 3: I'm I feel like that's I feel like that's the one.
- 38:44Speaker 3: I think that's it.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Hell yeah, hell yeah, I believe in my captain and
- 38:49Speaker 2: your captain's right.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Three for three. I didn't.
- 38:51Speaker 2: I thought that sounded fake as hell. It does, it.
- 38:55Speaker 5: Does, it's real.
- 38:56Speaker 2: I knew it.
- 38:57Speaker 5: I accidentally nodded as soon as he said it. I'm like, yeah, yeah,
- 39:01Speaker 5: he's right.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, a most Dangerous Game and Dragon Moss to
- 39:06Speaker 1: Spectacular not real.
- 39:08Speaker 3: Not yet real. Jackie can still got at least one
- 39:12Speaker 3: hundred more films in it. Yeah, at least.
- 39:16Speaker 2: At least at the pace he goes. I would also
- 39:20Speaker 2: like to see a movie where a man is hunting
- 39:22Speaker 2: Jackie Chan but he just uses furniture to escape, but
- 39:25Speaker 2: only furniture.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Yeah, like like, oh, I.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Got to assemble it before I can use it.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Has to has to escape a drug ring through an IKEA.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that'd be sick. Honestly, there's which one do you want?
- 39:45Speaker 2: You want?
- 39:46Speaker 1: A Most Dangerous Game or Dragon Moss to Spectacular, Most
- 39:48Speaker 1: most dangerous game, Most dangerous game?
- 39:50Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 39:50Speaker 3: Nice, the Swedish It has to be a Swedish pop too,
- 39:53Speaker 3: Yeah for sure. Yeah.
- 39:55Speaker 7: The only non furniture item is he can throw frozen meatball.
- 40:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just an ad. It's just an ad friend.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Okay, Project A, would you like your list of Jackie
- 40:12Speaker 1: Chan films? Yeah, here are your five. The Last Warrior
- 40:18Speaker 1: of Eden, a kid from Tibet, Twinkle Twinkle, Lucky Stars,
- 40:25Speaker 1: Fist of Unicorn, and Hot beef Stew.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Damn, dude, there's so much.
- 40:35Speaker 5: What did you say?
- 40:36Speaker 7: I know, Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Star.
- 40:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's correct. I don't think i've
- 40:41Speaker 5: seen it though, for.
- 40:42Speaker 2: A point that is correct. Yeah, good stuff.
- 40:44Speaker 7: I think a kid from Tibet also might be real.
- 40:50Speaker 5: That also lunched out at me, so I'll go with that.
- 40:53Speaker 2: It is indeed two out of three.
- 40:55Speaker 7: I know nothing else.
- 40:56Speaker 5: Okay, remind me of the three remaining, please.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Man, the three remain? You have the Last Warrior of Eden,
- 41:02Speaker 1: Fist of Unicorn, and Hot beef Stew.
- 41:06Speaker 7: There's a part of me that wants to say hot
- 41:07Speaker 7: beef stew because of half a loaf of kung fu
- 41:10Speaker 7: and if you're not gonna have bread with your soup,
- 41:14Speaker 7: it's like it's a missed opportunity.
- 41:16Speaker 5: Here's the thing. He only he's only done so many
- 41:20Speaker 5: food related titles. I know he's done wheels on meals
- 41:24Speaker 5: he's done. You know, a hefful of gung Fu.
- 41:28Speaker 7: Matt could have made this one because the last one
- 41:31Speaker 7: was I mean, one of.
- 41:33Speaker 5: The beef Cheek brothers is here, so I feel like
- 41:35Speaker 5: he might have thrown that into yes, entice them.
- 41:38Speaker 7: But mm hmmm, so I think it's one of the
- 41:42Speaker 7: first two.
- 41:42Speaker 5: And I want to go with Fist of Unicorn just because, yeah,
- 41:46Speaker 5: because I want it to be real more than anything.
- 41:49Speaker 7: Heck, yeah, let's go for it.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Fist that Unicorn. Sorry, fist.
- 41:55Speaker 3: That's a much different film.
- 41:59Speaker 7: That's not You said it and I was like, yeah, it's.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Just a trilogy. Entered the Phoenix, Suck the Dragon. Oh
- 42:14Speaker 1: my goodness, Well you've gone with Fist of Unicorn. Yeah,
- 42:18Speaker 1: is indeed correct. Nice three for three on that list.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Well done, well then, teams, you know your Jackie Chan movies, Yeah,
- 42:27Speaker 1: we do respect, but we've got to finish with a
- 42:29Speaker 1: bit of a silly category. I think we're gonna be
- 42:32Speaker 1: mentioned already named characters in Jackie chan Adventures that Jackie
- 42:40Speaker 1: Chan licensed his likeness to but never performed voice for.
- 42:44Speaker 2: No but he'd show up at the end to teach you, yes,
- 42:48Speaker 2: life lessons or some ship while he did kung fu
- 42:50Speaker 2: and I wouldn't stick.
- 42:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:51Speaker 2: Yeah, generally respect people, look after people. Yeah, what an
- 42:56Speaker 2: ironic statement.
- 43:01Speaker 1: If you can't do teach, so back out over to
- 43:05Speaker 1: the naughty boys. Here is your list of five named
- 43:09Speaker 1: characters in Jackie chan Adventures, shen Do, Ruby, Tackett, mcstone, uncle,
- 43:18Speaker 1: and Belle Ma. Oh wow, a lot of these sounds real.
- 43:22Speaker 3: Shen Do.
- 43:23Speaker 2: I know for a fact Shendy is the big bad
- 43:24Speaker 2: he's the dragon guy. There we go.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Yes, shen Do is correct. Sorry, I didn't wait for
- 43:29Speaker 1: the captain's decision on that one.
- 43:32Speaker 3: I say, you look lost. I did have two of
- 43:35Speaker 3: the I think it was from. Is either Burger King
- 43:37Speaker 3: or McDonald's that had toys of the show, and I
- 43:40Speaker 3: had two of the toys. But that's that's dope. As
- 43:44Speaker 3: far as my knowledge cups.
- 43:47Speaker 2: I should have done real McDonald's Jackie Channa.
- 43:51Speaker 3: I would have killed it if if that was it.
- 43:54Speaker 2: No, But yeah, you got a point for shen Do.
- 43:57Speaker 2: That's correct. There's Ruby. There is something racist.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Uh you had Ruby, Taget, mcstone, uncle and bell Ma.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Well uncle, I feel like uncle's in there.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Yeah, uncle's literally his uncle. I don't know if he's
- 44:13Speaker 2: named uncle, but I have to believe that's the same guy.
- 44:16Speaker 2: It is the same guy. Okay, hell yeah, yea, his
- 44:20Speaker 2: uncle's and everything that he does pretty much. And oh,
- 44:25Speaker 2: there's only one more that's real. Only one more that's real.
- 44:28Speaker 2: The other the other two a fight okay, waste and
- 44:31Speaker 2: Ruby taget ms Stone Ruby, and one more is bell
- 44:34Speaker 2: Ma Bell. Oh that's hard. I'm gonna go two mononyms
- 44:41Speaker 2: and something vaguely racist.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Uh, but like the white Americans, I don't know, Magaret mcstone,
- 44:53Speaker 1: cowboy law.
- 44:56Speaker 2: You know that's rich coming from me. But I'm gonna
- 45:04Speaker 2: go with Ruby because I do vaguely remember a character
- 45:07Speaker 2: named Ruby. Going with Ruby maybe like a fem fatale
- 45:10Speaker 2: or is that the little girl's name? No?
- 45:13Speaker 9: That?
- 45:13Speaker 2: Oh fuck, thanks, Chris. You're absolutely right. That's not real
- 45:17Speaker 2: at all. Fuck you and your face. We're going with
- 45:22Speaker 2: Uh it's a tiger Mitt Stone, all right?
- 45:26Speaker 1: Then, well fuck me because it is target mac Stone.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Well solved, naughty boys. I don't know if this is
- 45:33Speaker 2: going to give the other team an answer, but you're
- 45:35Speaker 2: absolutely right. Her name was Jade. I knew it was Jade.
- 45:37Speaker 2: I just didn't realize that Matt would use that as
- 45:40Speaker 2: a trick.
- 45:40Speaker 3: Oh, you son of a bitch, Matt. You almost had us.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Yeah, until my captain stepped up. Yeah, you called me
- 45:48Speaker 2: right handed.
- 45:49Speaker 3: You got me.
- 45:49Speaker 1: I was wounded by Aaron Elia and now you guys
- 45:51Speaker 1: are just taken me destroyed.
- 45:54Speaker 7: God, I hope Jade is on our list.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Let's find say, here's your list of five names.
- 46:02Speaker 5: Guess it has never seen an episode of this show.
- 46:08Speaker 2: King Cobra, super Moose, rat So, Bruce Chen and Oh
- 46:20Speaker 2: I think I know all three?
- 46:25Speaker 5: Is that an option? Can I? It's not an option.
- 46:29Speaker 5: It's the closest thing I have to a white flag.
- 46:31Speaker 5: I'm just gonna wave it.
- 46:34Speaker 2: I'm just gonna start swinging.
- 46:37Speaker 5: What do you think we didn't We didn't get Jade
- 46:40Speaker 5: to sounds like it might be right.
- 46:42Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, maybe a recency bias. It's worth it. Let's
- 46:47Speaker 7: go to is correct?
- 46:48Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 46:50Speaker 5: Yes, I have no leanings whatsoever on any of the others.
- 46:55Speaker 5: I don't even remember their name, Rat much McGee, what
- 46:59Speaker 5: was his name?
- 47:01Speaker 2: Yeah, let's go with that one. You just want to
- 47:04Speaker 2: go with that.
- 47:05Speaker 1: I want to go with the rat McGee. That's what
- 47:07Speaker 1: we want to get. Yeah, it's it's Ratso. But and
- 47:09Speaker 1: it's also real. It really is one of the main
- 47:13Speaker 1: trio of hen Yeah, oh my god. All right, so
- 47:17Speaker 1: you've got King Cobra, Super Moose and Bruce Chan.
- 47:23Speaker 5: I wanted to be super Moose. I wanted to be
- 47:27Speaker 5: Super Moose. King Cobra feels wrong. Feels yeah, genuinely wrong.
- 47:33Speaker 7: Let's let's go Supermoose. We've gotten to, right, let's just
- 47:36Speaker 7: go on.
- 47:37Speaker 5: I didn't expect to get to so I'll be happy
- 47:39Speaker 5: with this.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Let's go already from what we expected.
- 47:42Speaker 5: Going super Moose.
- 47:43Speaker 3: Baby, let's go.
- 47:48Speaker 1: They say they've never seen an episode of Jackie Channa Ventures,
- 47:50Speaker 1: but that's.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Three for three. Super Moose is real.
- 47:56Speaker 1: Is Jade's toy like the kid's toy by the third season,
- 48:01Speaker 1: comes to life and is its own superhero.
- 48:04Speaker 2: I did not know that, that's right. I would have
- 48:06Speaker 2: one wrong.
- 48:08Speaker 3: Was real.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Yeah, there's an there's an EMC Cobra in it. It's
- 48:12Speaker 1: like some kind of DJ.
- 48:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:13Speaker 3: It wasn't quite a king yet, right right.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Haven't graduated? So well well done everyone. I feel like
- 48:20Speaker 1: it was a very good round.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Damn, I don't do anything.
- 48:24Speaker 5: You guys went three for three three times. We only
- 48:27Speaker 5: missed one like this might be the highest scoring game
- 48:29Speaker 5: of five three two.
- 48:30Speaker 2: Ever, yeah, I think so. Very good knowledge gang.
- 48:34Speaker 3: Oh yeah wow wow things to JC.
- 48:37Speaker 1: My boy, aholl things are possible.
- 48:41Speaker 2: That is the end of round one.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Let's ask those two nuns if they'll help us calculate
- 48:46Speaker 1: the latest scores. Oh no, those aren't nuns. The hedgeprin
- 48:50Speaker 1: in disguise the face. Those scores are naughty. Boys are
- 48:55Speaker 1: on nine points, project A are on eight points.
- 48:58Speaker 2: High scoring. It's clubs fifty.
- 49:02Speaker 3: This is round two.
- 49:04Speaker 1: After these annoying ads, why not see how many wooden
- 49:07Speaker 1: boards you can break in the next ninety seconds. Don't
- 49:10Speaker 1: sue us. Round two is called Pitch It Sequel Edition.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Just like our classic game Pitch It, our pairs will
- 49:23Speaker 1: have sixty seconds total thirty seconds each to act as
- 49:27Speaker 1: junior media executives and perform an elevator pitch for a
- 49:31Speaker 1: brand new Jackie Chan movie. The difference this time is
- 49:35Speaker 1: that all of the potential movie titles have already been decided,
- 49:39Speaker 1: and here they are on a wheel, or at least
- 49:41Speaker 1: the color of responds to a different movie title that
- 49:43Speaker 1: I will read to you, so that will give you
- 49:46Speaker 1: the movie you have to pitch to the Studio. They
- 49:49Speaker 1: are all sequels to Jackie Chan movies, so it just
- 49:51Speaker 1: depends how familiar your team is with that franchise. You
- 49:54Speaker 1: will score points for actually making it relevant, but you
- 49:58Speaker 1: also score points for making us all laugh if you
- 50:00Speaker 1: have no fucking clue what the film is. So with that, Audra,
- 50:06Speaker 1: because this is a game of Jackie Chance, do you
- 50:08Speaker 1: want to spin the wheel?
- 50:10Speaker 2: I was gonna say, don't let that go. Jocky Chance
- 50:12Speaker 2: was a fucking hilarious.
- 50:14Speaker 7: Jackie Chance was really good. But I was also so
- 50:16Speaker 7: excited about spinning a wheel, so like my joy was
- 50:20Speaker 7: so overwhelming. I would love to spin the wheel.
- 50:24Speaker 3: All right?
- 50:25Speaker 2: For project Eh, you have what's that yellow? Orange? Yellow?
- 50:29Speaker 2: What'd you say? Yellow? Say yellow? Okay?
- 50:33Speaker 1: The movie sequel I would like you to pitch is
- 50:36Speaker 1: around the World in seventy nine days. Okay, so you're
- 50:41Speaker 1: gonna have thirty seconds each. Who would like to start?
- 50:45Speaker 1: And I will point when it is your teammates turn
- 50:48Speaker 1: to takeover.
- 50:49Speaker 5: I have no familiarity with the original film, so I
- 50:51Speaker 5: don't know if you'd prefer to start, and I'll just
- 50:54Speaker 5: tall you.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Wed absol fucking lutely all right, all right, Audra, pitch
- 50:58Speaker 1: me around the world in seventy nine days.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Your time starts.
- 51:02Speaker 7: Now we're gonna get the reunion of I think Phineas
- 51:06Speaker 7: Fogg and Passport Too was the joke as the name
- 51:10Speaker 7: that they gave him. But we're gonna see the reunion
- 51:14Speaker 7: of them. And you know, this time, they're gonna go faster.
- 51:17Speaker 7: Jackie Chan, he knows all of his speed Parkorp moves,
- 51:20Speaker 7: and they're gonna get around the world a day quicker.
- 51:24Speaker 7: This time, they're gonna get back in seventy nine days.
- 51:28Speaker 7: Maybe if they weren't so busy falling in love and shit,
- 51:31Speaker 7: they could have they could have really gotten there.
- 51:33Speaker 5: And then Jackie Chan's gonna pick up two benches and
- 51:36Speaker 5: he's just gonna start swinging around everybody in between them
- 51:40Speaker 5: and the next place they need to get to. And
- 51:42Speaker 5: so so they get there, and then there's there's a
- 51:44Speaker 5: giant group of men with swords and he just goes hah,
- 51:48Speaker 5: and he picks up like ballpoint pens and just starts
- 51:50Speaker 5: throwing them everywhere. This is everything he needs to do
- 51:52Speaker 5: to get his friend Phineas over to the finish line
- 51:55Speaker 5: within seventy nine days. And it'll be spectacular and we'll
- 51:59Speaker 5: also throw in gently and then Bruce Ly's cousin.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll give you a point for cousin, not for cops. Oh,
- 52:13Speaker 1: good stuff. Good pitch, Ordro you definitely got the right movie.
- 52:16Speaker 1: You use the one about Phineas Fogg and great finish
- 52:19Speaker 1: to the pitch there, Aaron, I feel like just throwing benches.
- 52:23Speaker 5: It's a Jackie Chamfield. Let's make it happen nuts.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's it's not gonna come from Steve Coogan.
- 52:29Speaker 2: The action is it? No, no, no, And there is
- 52:31Speaker 2: one bench in that movie. I remember the fight scene
- 52:33Speaker 2: from that movie very well. Bench approved. Yeah, single bench.
- 52:38Speaker 2: That's a good job.
- 52:38Speaker 1: You pitched multiple benches for the sequel. Always got it up,
- 52:42Speaker 1: the stakes improving on the original.
- 52:44Speaker 5: Very good.
- 52:45Speaker 2: When you were like, oh they're too busy falling in love,
- 52:47Speaker 2: I was like with each other.
- 52:53Speaker 3: I care deeply.
- 52:54Speaker 5: It's about.
- 52:57Speaker 2: So four points I'm giving you for that one. Wow,
- 53:00Speaker 2: four out of five.
- 53:00Speaker 6: Oh.
- 53:01Speaker 1: I like the way you took it. You recognized what
- 53:02Speaker 1: film it was. Good stuff. Next up, Jason, would you
- 53:05Speaker 1: like to spin the wheel for the Naughty Boys?
- 53:07Speaker 2: Oh?
- 53:07Speaker 3: Yes, of course.
- 53:08Speaker 2: Okay, is that red it's not tell on the camera. Yeah, yeah,
- 53:13Speaker 2: it's ever so slightly towards the red.
- 53:15Speaker 1: All right, we're going with red. The sequel I would
- 53:17Speaker 1: like you to pitch is rush Hour four? Who would
- 53:23Speaker 1: like to take the lead on this one?
- 53:25Speaker 3: I think you should take the lead on this one.
- 53:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:28Speaker 2: I had a thought that just popped into my head,
- 53:30Speaker 2: and it's not good. But we're gonna run. All right,
- 53:32Speaker 2: Your time starts now. So it's been many, many years
- 53:36Speaker 2: since Rush Hour three. Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker have
- 53:39Speaker 2: been through a lot. They've tested their brotherhood, and now
- 53:42Speaker 2: they're going to combat race relations as in America. Together
- 53:50Speaker 2: just the two of them, through equally racist jokes towards
- 53:53Speaker 2: each other but also mutual respect will fix what's going
- 53:58Speaker 2: on in America. Has quoted in Rush Hour too, when
- 54:04Speaker 2: will white people? When will black people? And when will
- 54:05Speaker 2: Chinese people learn to get along?
- 54:07Speaker 3: Just picture it, Agent Carter, Agent Lee at the Capitol
- 54:11Speaker 3: January sixth. There. Stop they're just stop it. They're there
- 54:17Speaker 3: to people together, and don't worry. Jackie Chan is not
- 54:22Speaker 3: going to say the N word in this one. Okay.
- 54:25Speaker 2: That was a mistake we made.
- 54:26Speaker 3: And previously we're not making it again. Okay, It's it's
- 54:32Speaker 3: unity okay, and that's your time on that, On that
- 54:35Speaker 3: rousing message of unisy.
- 54:38Speaker 1: I love the implication that if Fresh Hour four existed,
- 54:41Speaker 1: we still have democracy.
- 54:45Speaker 3: Maybe maybe I'd like to try, you.
- 54:48Speaker 9: Know, you clarifying they're there to stop Janie. Oh, incredible,
- 55:00Speaker 9: incredible work.
- 55:02Speaker 1: Not what I was expecting, but you clearly recognize the
- 55:07Speaker 1: right franchise.
- 55:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:09Speaker 1: Absolutely, that was there, and the tropes and the mistakes
- 55:13Speaker 1: that may have been made in the past. Things were mentioned.
- 55:17Speaker 1: I'm dancing between three and four points just because there
- 55:20Speaker 1: wasn't much in the way of like, well, no, there
- 55:23Speaker 1: was plot. I'm going to give you four points because
- 55:24Speaker 1: there was plot. There was thank you stopping.
- 55:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and no n words this time. I fully forgot
- 55:35Speaker 3: about that. When we rewatched the first Rush Hour, I
- 55:37Speaker 3: was like, oh shit, did Jackie Chan drop the end box? Yeah,
- 55:41Speaker 3: that's what starts to start in the uh yeah, the pool.
- 55:44Speaker 3: Oh my god, because he says it to the.
- 55:47Speaker 5: Stucker, says it to the guy and Jackie's trying to
- 55:51Speaker 5: fit in.
- 55:52Speaker 2: But knowing that Jackie Chan doesn't understand like ninety percent
- 55:55Speaker 2: of the jokes that he's supposed to say, that makes it.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Funnier to me that makes it worse but also better idea.
- 56:04Speaker 1: It's definitely the directors produced. They're the bad guys. Rattner. No,
- 56:10Speaker 1: it's terrible human being.
- 56:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Well, I'd like you to each spin
- 56:14Speaker 1: the wheel one more time each. I'd like another movie pitch.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Are you sure that.
- 56:19Speaker 7: Wasn't the movie pitch to end on movie pitches?
- 56:22Speaker 1: Well, we'll see if we can get any lower naughty
- 56:25Speaker 1: boys too.
- 56:26Speaker 2: We start January's.
- 56:29Speaker 1: The Boys, Okay, Ordra, give me a spin before anything
- 56:36Speaker 1: else happens.
- 56:39Speaker 2: Should we say green for that one? Because yellow is
- 56:41Speaker 2: already yeah, already off there.
- 56:43Speaker 1: Your film that you'll be pitching is Shanghai Breaking Dawn
- 56:47Speaker 1: Part two. Okay, So, following the naming of the Shanghai movies,
- 56:55Speaker 1: you've got Shanghai Breaking Dawn Part two.
- 56:57Speaker 2: He would like to take the lead on this one.
- 56:59Speaker 5: I guess I'll take this time.
- 57:00Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, Okay, down with it.
- 57:03Speaker 1: You ready to pitch Shanghai Breaking doll and Pazzi?
- 57:09Speaker 7: Okay, as ready as you're ever gonna be.
- 57:11Speaker 5: Yeah, let's do it.
- 57:13Speaker 2: Yeah, time stots now Okay.
- 57:15Speaker 5: So the first film took place in America. Second place
- 57:18Speaker 5: took place largely I think in England. So the movie
- 57:21Speaker 5: number three is gonna take place in China, where our
- 57:24Speaker 5: heroes are going to run into vampires and unfortunately they
- 57:27Speaker 5: both get turned, but they're pissed about it, so now
- 57:29Speaker 5: they're gonna beat up and kill all the other vampires.
- 57:32Speaker 5: They meet up with some friendly were wolves who they
- 57:34Speaker 5: start to you know, make out with, and things get
- 57:36Speaker 5: a little weird. But they the vampires come back in
- 57:40Speaker 5: full force and try to annihilate them and the were
- 57:42Speaker 5: wolves and it's a huge brawl. Jackie chand picks up
- 57:45Speaker 5: three benches, goes nuts.
- 57:48Speaker 7: And in this film it's phenomenal as they have to
- 57:52Speaker 7: fight their way to the alpha to regain their humanity,
- 57:56Speaker 7: big fight sequences. Because these are super natural beings, the
- 58:01Speaker 7: stunts can be insane in a phenomenally cool cool way.
- 58:08Speaker 7: Nothing has to make sense and it's going to be beautiful.
- 58:12Speaker 7: End of pitch.
- 58:17Speaker 3: They probably nice.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Look, that was quite a tough prompt in terms of think,
- 58:24Speaker 1: but you mights to incorporate the vampires into it, which
- 58:26Speaker 1: is very good, well well played.
- 58:29Speaker 5: Who hasn't want to see those two turn into vampires?
- 58:32Speaker 2: I mean, oh dude, I oh my god, I paid
- 58:35Speaker 2: yeah money to just watch a compilation video. Oh Wilson
- 58:38Speaker 2: being a vampire? Wow, yeah, we just I gotta find
- 58:43Speaker 2: simply Oh wow, yeah, we get like I can't stand
- 58:47Speaker 2: out on the light.
- 58:49Speaker 7: I started, I started to do that impression, then backed
- 58:52Speaker 7: off immedia.
- 58:54Speaker 3: It sounded like Jennifer cool and.
- 58:59Speaker 2: You Jennifer Coolidge impression on this podcast.
- 59:02Speaker 7: Yet it's really it's really hard to do the Jennifer
- 59:04Speaker 7: Coolide impression because every time I do it, I'm laughing
- 59:07Speaker 7: and it pulls my face back in a way that like,
- 59:11Speaker 7: I can't do the Coolidge.
- 59:13Speaker 5: I cannot wait for the pitch. But I think Jennifer
- 59:15Speaker 5: Coolidge should play the alpha.
- 59:19Speaker 2: You two thought you were gonna kill me.
- 59:25Speaker 9: You can hear when I start smiling, that's oh, that's
- 59:31Speaker 9: that's great.
- 59:32Speaker 1: I genuinely don't know how to scold this one because
- 59:36Speaker 1: of how crazy the previous.
- 59:38Speaker 3: Picture, how crazy good the previous picture.
- 59:44Speaker 1: It's completely thrown off my scale because I gave that
- 59:46Speaker 1: one four. So I'm going to give you five for
- 59:49Speaker 1: incorporating the vampires effectively and giving me a hook of
- 59:54Speaker 1: Jackie Janitor and Wilson going to take out this alpha
- 59:56Speaker 1: mm hmm.
- 59:57Speaker 5: Played by Jennifer Coolish.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to see this movie now, and I
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: know I really want to watch it badly.
- 1:00:06Speaker 7: The hijinks that they could get up to, like not
- 1:00:09Speaker 7: stabbing someone in the chest, like like trying to not
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: get stabbed in the chest to themselves.
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: Oh that is good.
- 1:00:16Speaker 7: Yeah, trying to stab someone like I took a clowning workshop,
- 1:00:21Speaker 7: and the point of it is like there's an expectation
- 1:00:23Speaker 7: and then finding as many ways to not do that
- 1:00:25Speaker 7: as possible, which ooh, yeah, that would be such a
- 1:00:29Speaker 7: good phenomenal sequence.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: That's possong for you. Even the interviews would be good
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: because Owen Wilson, Like, because Owen Wilson could be like
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: on the fucking Graham Norton Show whatever, and he'd be like, yeah,
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: just talk to Jack, you know. I was like, yeah,
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: you're a ware wolf up a vampire.
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Like, it's just cool.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: I say that because I'll need you to do that
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: impression in a few seconds.
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: Oh boy.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: But before we hear that impression again, we need one
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: final spin of the wheel.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Jason, can you spin for the naughty Boys? Yes, sir,
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: I'm I spend so week. Well, we got there. We
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: got orange. Let's say it's orange looks like Orange.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: To me, your sequel that you will be pitching is
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: the Tuxedo two Hot to the Tucks.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: Dude, I literally I was like practicing pre practicing. I
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: was like, it's probably going to be Tuxedo. I don't know. Wow.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: I don't know how or why.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: I knew that you think about Owen Wilson that. I
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: don't know. Wow, I don't know.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: I still have Owen Wilson on the brain. I don't know.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: Wow.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: So Tuxedo too Hot to the Tucks. Who's going to
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: take the lead on the on pitching this one?
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: I've never seen TUXI I don't even know what it's about.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: I can go first on it. I feel like that's fair.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, Chris, are you ready to pitch?
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: What was the name of the movie again?
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: The Tuxedo two Hot to the Tucks. Okay, yeah, time
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: starts now. Okay, picture this twenty years in the future
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: after the first Tuxedo, the Mosquitoes are gone. Jennifer love
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Hewett Jackie Chan, They get married and have a child.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: Their daughter grows up to also be a spy. Jackie
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: then needs to refit the tuxedo.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: To fit his daughter. Okay, and instead of mosquitoes that
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: are going to uh take over the world and destroy everything. Obviously, God,
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: it's gonna be bats. It's gonna beats.
- 1:02:33Speaker 8: His daughter's gonna be played by Chloe Bennett because they
- 1:02:37Speaker 8: definitely are we he fights mosquitoes, they fight bats this time,
- 1:02:42Speaker 8: and so it's a reduct bigger but bigger.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: What do you say by what you say?
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: They fight mosquitoes like mosquito people or like mosquitoes. It
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: wand so.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: It's that.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Look up Chloe Bennett, she looks, she looks like she
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: could be Jackie Chance. Okay, okay, we'll see you one point.
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: I mean like Chris definitely has seen the film. It's
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: it's it is to do with Mosquito's right, I do
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: remember that being.
- 1:03:11Speaker 11: Water striders, Yes, waders mosquito because he mistakes it for
- 1:03:17Speaker 11: Walter Strider. He thinks he's looking for a person called
- 1:03:20Speaker 11: Walter Strider.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: That's pretty fine this movie. Whatever mosquitoes water striders basically.
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: Especially I would allow it if I met.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: But are they giant?
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: What are they? No, They're just like they like are
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: have some like chemical or something that they're going.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: To spread across the world. And he punches them.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: No, it's just he just stops them from leaving the.
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: Bad guy's planning to use them. He stops the bad guy.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's funny to say that he was fighting
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: against mosquitos. Agreed, Agreed, Agreed.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: I like the way it ramped up the idea that
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: it's not just the mosquitos this time, it's also bats
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: of the mosquitoes, but also Chris. I did like the
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: whole lineage thing. That's that's a common sequel trope that
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: you got in there of like it's time to pass
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: it on to the next generation. But ultimately it wasn't
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: as strong a pitch. So I'm gonna say three points.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: I disagree wholeheartedly, and you can, uh, you can call
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Jennifer love Hewitt and apologize yourself. Matt.
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: Okay, I'm actually gonna pack man up on this because
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: I thought Jackie and Jennifer's relationship in that movie was platonic.
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: I didn't. I didn't see them becoming lovers. I saw
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: them becoming best friends instead.
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: Well that's because you've recently than I have. But maybe
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: it was a green card marriage, Okay, and that was.
- 1:04:55Speaker 7: Yeah, how was she going to get here from Canada?
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: Yeah, we should have pitched that.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: I think he remembering that, Jennifer love Hew, and it
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: is at least worth one point.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, that was one of your free ports. Okay,
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: that is the end of the round. Let's ask Jackie's
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Western co stars to calculate the latest scores. And it
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: says here, Jason either do Owen Wilson or Chris Tucker
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: if you didn't see it, if you had that pre player. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: I read the scores. Hey wow, look at the scores.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Look at that you got.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: Looks like the Naughty Boys they've got a sixteen and
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: project gay. Wow, you guys got a seventeen. All right,
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: thanks Owen. I liked your your little surprise. Yeah they
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: got seventy. That was not metempting. I feel like I'm
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: doing a Tom Hddleston impression of or I'm doing an
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: impression of Tom Hidleston doing Owen Wilson, is what I'm say.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, however you get there, yeah, oh inception. Okay,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Round three next, and it's a wild one. Go do
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: something important for sixty seconds and we'll be here waiting,
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: ready to piss away the time with you back soon, sweetie. Okay,
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: round three, before we get started, I would like everyone,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: and I'll probably cut out the big silence I reckon.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: I would like everyone to retrieve three household items. Okay,
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: you can take a few minutes to go grab three
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: items each.
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: Just items in my house or items that would be
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: in any.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: House either, okay, any they can be three household items.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: I guess I'll say that aren't weapons.
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: I got three knives.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: Okay, all right, Aaron is back as well. Yeah, you
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: have three items in front of you? Oh behind me,
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: but yes, I'll behind you. Is even even better?
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: A right?
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Keep keep keep those items off camera if you can.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: I'm realizing the size of items that people might Okay, well,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: we'll let these two in the studio get settled again.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: So heavy do you do you each have three items?
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: Does everyone have three items? In the vicinity?
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: I was a little disappointed you said no weapons, because
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: just out of arms reach in the closet over there,
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: I have several stage swords.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: Oh it would have been fun.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: But Jason, should we get you more comfortable? Are you
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: good like this? Are we going to be presenting this?
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: Because what's going to happen to this guy? I guess
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: you'll have to hold them up at certain points. Okay,
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: I'll just hang out like this until I present and.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: Then okay, do you know, then we'll give the option
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: for the for the naughty boys. Would you like to
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: go first or second?
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: Here?
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Fuck it, let's go for Iconically, Jackie Chan uses whatever
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: items are around him to help aid in his combat scenes.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: That's why we don't see many Jackie Chan movies today
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: because most middle class people have minimalist interior design. There's
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: nothing to grab. So in this game, I've asked each
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: pair to leave their desk and return with three household
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: items each, and they have. Now I will talk that
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: team through a famous Jackie Chan fight sequence. During key moments,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: I will ask that team for an item and how
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: they would creatively use it in that moment to attack
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: or defend.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: So we have six items total. You have six items
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: between your team.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Yes, ah, there'll be five opportunities for items, and you'd
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: need to once an item is held up, that is
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: you committing to using that item. So whoever thinks they
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: have the best item for that scenario has got to
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: get in with.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: It quick and commit.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Okay, it's basically like you're remixing a famous Jackie Chan
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: fight sequence.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Kind of like me and Chris are like Chris Tucker
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: and Jackie Chan because we got to know each other's movements.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: I gotta I gotta trust that Chris is gonna have
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: the right weapon for the right moment.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: Oh Ship, you're absolutely I don't know what you have,
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: and I only know one of the things you have
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: because it was huge and I could see it glow.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: And your items can cannot be used more than once.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: Once an item is being used, that's that's it done.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: There will be five moments, so choose your items carefully
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: and I'll award you one point per item if you
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: can convince me of its appropriate use, and maybe some
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: bonuses at the end as well. Are we all following, yes, yeah,
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: all right. In that case, we're going to have a
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: fight scene for Naughty Boys, and your fight scene is
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: from the legend of Drunken Master or Drunken Master to
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: the final fight scene.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: Is that the one with the fires? Is that the
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: first movie?
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: I think that's the first that's the that's there, that
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: is the fire and the one that was a sick
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: I mean to be fair, both both movies have a
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: guy that kicks a lot in the end. Oh, but
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: he falls into the coals.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, Okay, I thought I only saw the
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: first one. I think I saw both.
- 1:10:15Speaker 7: Hell, I serve you probably.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: I do that every time I watch one of the
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: Drunken Masters.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: Well with where this one starts, we'll see if you
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: remember everything that happens afterwards.
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: Here it is. Are you ready for your fight?
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Your nemesis Lo Hui Kang just kicked you onto a
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: bed of hot coals. You managed to crawl backwards off them,
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: but Kang approaches you with a flaming hot poker. To
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: defend against it, you reach to your right and grab
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: a tongs.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: Yeah, because they're the natural enemy of things that are
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: generally hot, and they catch nice. I use it to
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: pinch his tongue or his poker. You pinch his hot poker, Yeah,
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: with tongs. Beautiful, You managed to avoid the hot poker
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: by pinching it. Tongues.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: I believe that to move into the side once you
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: once you pinch it, sir, good stuff. Okay, you managed
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: to pinch the poker with some tongs, but Kang regains
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: control and pins you against the metal door. You know
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: you need to tap into your drunken master skills. So
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: you reach into your pocket and grab.
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: A cigar whistle. How do you use it? Jackie puts
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: it in the palm of his hand and the end
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: sticks out a little bit. He jams it in his
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: throat solid wood.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: That's a violent use of a thing that I've just
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: learned exists.
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: I like it.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: You have in the points. You managed to avoid Kang
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: by putting a cigar whistle down his throat. But one
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: of Kang's hedgemen attacks you from behind and holds you
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: in a full nelson as Kang unloads onto your toe.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: So that's very rude toes even ruder.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: I mean, I'm going you kick off k You kick
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: off Kang's body and leap over the head of the henchman,
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: spiking him onto the ground. But you are also on
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: the floor and Kang is approaching with a series of kicks.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: What is on the floor that you reach for?
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with this big fucking thing. What is it, Jason,
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: it's Mandra's ironing boards.
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: Ironing board.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: The kicks with the flat side, and then I'm in
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: deploy legs. Deploy legs to repel back almost like a pushback. Yeah,
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: situation and fucking spin it around. Anything gets deflected. It's
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: like wing chun, baby, I've got two extra arms at
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: this point.
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: I like it.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: You're getting a point and you can put the ironing
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: board down.
- 1:12:47Speaker 7: Now, honestly, what is an ironing board but like a
- 1:12:50Speaker 7: really big bench.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: So very good points. Thanks to the ironing board. You
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: managed to stager Kang. But at the same time he
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: love is a blow that staggers you. You use this
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: breaking momentum to down a bottle of wine. You fake
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Hag out with a series of kicks until you land
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: a seemingly knockout blow. You look to the table next
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: to you and see an item you can finish him with.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: What is that item?
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: A bronze and marble choir trophy?
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: Hell yeah, and I don't And Jackie Chan puts the
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: little the trophy party between his hand and in between
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: his fingers, and he smashes the marble part over his head.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: Oh shit, that'll do it. Holy shit.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: Kang takes that attack clean to the head, but he
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: manages to roll off the table that you were pinning
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: him down on, and he wields a wooden step ladder
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: and charges at you. Ladder legs first. You only have
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: a split second to grab one final item to defend
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: yourself against this ladder.
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: What is it? The Holy Bible?
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: Perfect? Perfect?
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: How do you block the line with it? With the
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: power of God?
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: Good stuff? You use the Bible to stop the ladder.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Knocks hang out and you hold him in a fireman's
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: carry position. You flip him off the back of your
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: shoulders as he twists three times before falling through a
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: wooden box unconscious. You're about to pass out drunk, but
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: before you do, you notice one final item, and you're
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: going to take it home as a souvenir for your niece.
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: What is it?
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: It's a candle.
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: That says smells like being tenderly fed after care potatoes
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: after getting railed.
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: By Sam was on hand.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: Yeah, well look, I'm giving you a point for that
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: as well, Uncle of the Century.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Oh, good stuff.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: That was a good fight, guys, Thanks well done. How
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: good good use of items there.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: We should start the organizing fights more often.
- 1:15:03Speaker 7: Yeah, be more violent in your day to day Yeah,
- 1:15:06Speaker 7: why not.
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: So, mad? I didn't get that fight?
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: Yeah, Aaron, that was that was one of your favorites.
- 1:15:14Speaker 5: Oh, and I have all the perfect stuff.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: Well or tra Jason, do you want to swap place
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: this again? Oh?
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: Yes, and we will find out the fight that Project
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: Day has to endure. Your iconic Jackie Chan fight is
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: from Police Story four or First Strike, and it is
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: in the hole with all the henchmen. It's not it's
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: not the final fight, but the one that's in the hole.
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: Yep, yep.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: Are you ready for your improvised choreygraft fights?
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: Ready as I'll be.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: Let's go okay in a large hole, several henchmen approach
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: you and start throwing random items at you. You have
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: time to pick up one item to block the incoming missiles.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: What item is?
- 1:16:00Speaker 5: It is this sealed hardcover copy of Buffy the Vampire
- 1:16:05Speaker 5: Slayer Season eight, Volume three comic collection. It is. It
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: is thick. It will block and protect me from just
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: about anything Buffy, so of course she's going to protect me.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: Nice buy that good stuff. Yeah.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: You use the oversized season eight Buffy omnibus to block
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: and defend all of the items, but you are overwhelmed
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: and you duck under a folding table and use it
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: as a base to fight off a couple of the henchmen.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: But more approach. Your ally standing at the side of
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: the room, who isn't helping, throws you a weapon, so
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: they are helping. I guess which items do they throw
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: you and how do you use it?
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: They throw me.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: A big rolling pin, classic, a metal rolling and I'm
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: going to use it.
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: If anyone thrives to throw anything else at me, I
- 1:17:03Speaker 7: can block or I can just absolutely flap a motherfucker.
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: Yeah, you've got a good swing there.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: Yeah, you're even making sounds that would probably be used
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: in a dub of a seventies Hong Kong movie.
- 1:17:16Speaker 7: Yeah, probably would you spin it? It sounds like this, whoa.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: That is powerful.
- 1:17:23Speaker 5: That is a great noise to hear on a movie soundtrack.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: She has the rolling pin to fight off the hedgeman,
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: but you're kicked into some scaffolding and manage to use
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: it to climb to the second floor. As the henchmen
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: run upstairs and approach you with scaffolding poles, you reach
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: into the wooden box beside you and pull out.
- 1:17:41Speaker 11: A rock band guitar and it's a wired rockman. So
- 1:17:50Speaker 11: first I would probably.
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: Use it to literally just like ping ping ping, But eventually,
- 1:17:55Speaker 5: because it's wired, if it's down to just like one
- 1:17:58Speaker 5: guy ahead of me, I'm actually gonna like wrap the
- 1:18:00Speaker 5: wire around his neck and then take the guitar and
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: just throw it off the scaffolding and he should go
- 1:18:07Speaker 5: after it.
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: Good.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: Also, how you activate overdrive on that game?
- 1:18:12Speaker 7: Yes, I almost grabbed a rock band.
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: What's better than two benches too?
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: Good stuff? I love it.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: Yeah, use the rock band guitar successfully to defend off
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: the scaffolding poles full cambo, but you are still overwhelmed
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: by the sheer number of henchmen. Just as you're about
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: to receive a knockout blow, you feel something beneath your feet.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: What item do you flick up and use to defend yourself?
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: Yes, big house plant.
- 1:18:50Speaker 7: See this is actually really good for this because any
- 1:18:52Speaker 7: direction that they come at you from, it's the leaves
- 1:18:55Speaker 7: and the stocks are going to guide them into. The
- 1:18:58Speaker 7: hard protective part is the vase. So really it's gonna
- 1:19:02Speaker 7: catch all of the blows and then just like direct
- 1:19:06Speaker 7: them into this part that it's gonna hurt someone's hands
- 1:19:13Speaker 7: if they tried to punch you, if they tried to
- 1:19:15Speaker 7: like bring something down, and if it was their hand,
- 1:19:18Speaker 7: it would hurt their hands. And if they were holding
- 1:19:20Speaker 7: like a stick, it would like vibrate into their hands
- 1:19:23Speaker 7: and their hands would hurt.
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: Look, I don't want insult on fs, but the hot hands.
- 1:19:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I keep harping on it. But in Drunken Master two,
- 1:19:30Speaker 5: in the restaurant fight, they get a bamboo pole that
- 1:19:32Speaker 5: shatters and it sprouts out much like the plant does,
- 1:19:36Speaker 5: and he uses it to literally cut the the guys
- 1:19:39Speaker 5: who are attacking him is their arms and hair, and
- 1:19:41Speaker 5: they all stagger back with blood on their They're like, oh,
- 1:19:44Speaker 5: so I think Auder's onto a winner.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you. You get get a point for it.
- 1:19:49Speaker 5: For show.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: You use the house plans to depend off against ten henchmen,
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: and you managed to gain control of one of their
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: metal poles, and you use this to fight off an
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: outsmart most of the henchmen, unfortunately numbers game. One of
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: them disarms you, and now all five of them surround
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: you ready to strike. You only have one item in
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: your immediate vicinity, and you're going to have to use
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: it to beat off five guys. That's also very.
- 1:20:21Speaker 5: Not the first time.
- 1:20:22Speaker 7: I guess I'll go, yeah, I've got one if you don't, it's.
- 1:20:26Speaker 5: My twelve inch long screwdriver. God, it's it's very suitable
- 1:20:33Speaker 5: as a club actually, even though it's a tool, So
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: I could very easily, you know, twack people with this
- 1:20:39Speaker 5: heavy end because it would hurt. Oh yeah. But also
- 1:20:44Speaker 5: in every Jackie Chan movie it seems like he has
- 1:20:46Speaker 5: one very comical, cartoony interaction with somebody, so I think
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: at one point he would jab the actual screw part
- 1:20:53Speaker 5: into the villain's belly button and start twisting and the
- 1:20:57Speaker 5: Hedgeman go fuck.
- 1:20:59Speaker 7: He would like you could like back up as he's
- 1:21:01Speaker 7: twisting it, and he's.
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: Like, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: By that, you've got your comedy spot in there as well.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: I love it, all right. And that's that's the fight you.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: As you beat off all the Hedgemen, ten more show up,
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: each armed with metal poles, you decide you have no
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: choice but to surrender. But what item do you sit
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: on as you put your hands behind your head.
- 1:21:24Speaker 7: Oh god, it's just a little towel, but you can
- 1:21:28Speaker 7: fold it up and it would be nice to sit on.
- 1:21:31Speaker 7: It's a construction site, it's kind of dirty. You don't
- 1:21:34Speaker 7: want to you don't want to get.
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: Your you cannot.
- 1:21:37Speaker 5: I am so glad that you went not me.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Hell yeah, it could have been sitting on a screwdriver.
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: It could have been so much worse. Absolutely, Oh, I'll look.
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: I'll give you the point there because it is a
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: comfy lissy. It is comfy lilsy, you know.
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: Thank you? Perfect, very good. All right, how did you
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: enjoy your fight? Did you have a good time? Yeah?
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: That was great. I felt like a choreographer again.
- 1:22:03Speaker 7: I missed the idea of I could I could shake
- 1:22:07Speaker 7: the plant in people's faces and disorient them.
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: But you know you said hands, So it's okay.
- 1:22:12Speaker 7: Yeah, the next time I'm in one of these style
- 1:22:15Speaker 7: fights and I have a house plant, I'm gonna know better.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: What to do.
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: Yeah, we'd never blame that game again. Okay, that is
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: the end of round three. You all got points there,
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: we'll find out what they are.
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: Let's ask our drunken master to calculate the latest scores.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: Why would they do that? He's passed out, drunk, I'll
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: do it. Okay, the naughty boys, you have twenty two points.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: Project ay, you have twenty three points.
- 1:22:40Speaker 5: Ooh, another both in the twenties.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: Yeah, oh excellent, Jackie chan knowledge and prop gathering from
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: from everyone.
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: It's good stuff.
- 1:22:52Speaker 5: I love it.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: I remember that you guys had a bible in your house. Yeah,
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: oh yeah, go to keep one at least one.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: Every household has one, every motel. You never know what
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: annoying Wilson Vampire is going to show.
- 1:23:06Speaker 5: Omnibus is my Bible.
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: Okay, Well, before we get to our final crucial quick
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: fire around, let's talk prizes. This episode's star prize is
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: the concept of loyalty. Jackie's characters are often very loyal
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: to his friends and family, which clearly informs how loyal
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: Jackie is to President g.
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: So doing research on Jackie Chan was not fun enough,
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: like learning things about him. Basically, the funny thing to
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: me is that I was like looking in some Hong
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: Kong social media spaces, and Jackie Chan is essentially viewed
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: in Hong Kong the way like Kid Rock is viewed
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: in America. He's just like the ultimate shill sellout for
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: the dominant political party.
- 1:23:51Speaker 7: Oh my god.
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: No hurt.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: Yeah okay, but our winning team will also receive that
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: screwdriver that could have gone.
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: Up your.
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: Well it is now.
- 1:24:08Speaker 5: Where did it go?
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: Yes, come back after these ads. I've not written anything
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: but come back after these ads. Our final quick fire
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: around will test your broader pop culture knowledge and it's cold.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: Are you stunting on me?
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: Bro? Whoa, I've never usually say a sentence like that.
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: All the time to me, what are you talking about?
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: I almost said brother, Oh yeah, he's probably more like
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: the whole Yeah, oh.
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: Ship, he is the whole.
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: Oh more n word slurs.
- 1:24:54Speaker 7: Honestly appointed Jackie Chan's favor. It's definitely gonna be hul coch.
- 1:25:02Speaker 9: Oh.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: I know we've still got the quick fire, but I
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: needed this recording.
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: This was this is okay.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: In this game, I will give our players clues to
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: a stunt performer from pop culture history. Those clues will
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: be a list of stunts they're famous for, delivered in
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: a dramatic, cinematic sort of way. And we're kind of
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: including anyone who's known for like feats. It's not it's
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: not just stunt doubles. It's people who are known for
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: doing their own stunts or have done crazy things.
- 1:25:30Speaker 7: Do you want some crazy shit?
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: Oh, and there's of course a classic Gates leaper's twist.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: You need to say, gee whiz, that's sure it was
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: a cool stunt, and then the answer it doesn't have
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: to be those exact words, just sound like a kid
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: who's really excited that they saw something badass.
- 1:25:48Speaker 7: I love it.
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: It's quick fire, so buzz in by yelling out your
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: team name. Let's practice that now, project day.
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: No, I don't accept it. Oh naughty boys, Yeah that's right.
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: I blacked out. I couldn't remember it, and then Chris
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: didn't help that. I didn't understand.
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: Boys.
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: I'll accept the naughty boy screech.
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: I think it's fine, Okay, I think it's good. So,
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: for example, if I said hung off the side of
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: a plane performed, oh yeah, Chris.
- 1:26:28Speaker 10: Gee, mister Tom Cruise, that that stunt major ass, look great,
- 1:26:36Speaker 10: little boy, I don't know what.
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: I was expecting. I forgot what it was, and.
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: I don't think you need to say anything about his
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: ass at all, just like the stunt.
- 1:26:49Speaker 5: That story on.
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: Pretty sure Matt wanted me to do. Now, that's what
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: the naughty boys are going to do. Everything text didn't
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: outside of the group message and asked me to do that.
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: So all right, well, stop saying things I can't disprove. Okay,
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: and yep they would have been. Tom Cruise performs his
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: own stunts that one's also funny because he's a stunted
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: man as well.
- 1:27:20Speaker 5: Ya sure took a jackie chance with that one.
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: He had a jackie chance.
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: Okay, if we're all ready, I'll start the timer. Why
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: are foo inside a simulation? Gun fu project? That's gonna
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: be Aaron gee?
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: Golly, Bob, Holy wow. Keanu Reeves. That was a great stunt.
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: Your ass looks great.
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: I'm sensing a thing that is indeed, Kati reeves for
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: a point, good stuff.
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: I hope I know one of these so that I
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: can play.
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: In the.
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: Remove debris from in front of a moving train, rode
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: a motorcycle while sat on the handlebars. The front of
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: a house fell down, But he's fine because he's standing
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: exactly where windows.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: Yep, yep, that's christ.
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: Gee mister, Oh my god, I'm blinking on his name.
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: Holy shit. Daniel Craig, you look really good in that
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: James Bond.
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: Movie Project Day.
- 1:28:28Speaker 7: I enjoyed your words the project A yes, golliye, g Willakers.
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: You sure are cheap ut buster key.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: Cheekton Oh yep, it is indeed buster the key well
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: well done. Next one jumped onto a moving train from
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: a motorcycle, leapt from a skyscraper with P. S. Brosnan
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: contained laughter during a butt plug fight scene.
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: Oh not a boys, Yes, Chris g Michelle, Yo, you
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: sure are an icon.
- 1:29:09Speaker 5: Yo.
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: Good stuff cleared, box of rattlesnakes on the back of
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: a hog cleared Caesar's Palace, fountain on the back of
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: a beast cleared fourteen greyhound busses. Yes, Chris, uh gee.
- 1:29:27Speaker 6: Uh uh comes up a devil demon? When does the
- 1:29:37Speaker 6: time there?
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: When his brain explodes? I think that was it, Chris sometime,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: demon king.
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: I know who it is only because Chris took so
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: anyone else buzzing in? Or no I didn't, Oh anyone buzzy?
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: Oh fucking naughty boys. Yes, Jason gee whiz this before
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: my time? But evil canl You're as it is?
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: Evil it is. It's like a demon guy.
- 1:30:09Speaker 5: It's a box of some.
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: I definitely. I think Daredevil's in there.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: Yeah, well yeah yeah, evil brain, yes, yes, yes, all right.
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: Next one leapt from a j C B into a
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: train car engaged in free running combat on a construction site.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: Did you want to have it over to your captain
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: for redemption or.
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll let him. I'll let him take it.
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: Chris Gee, Daniel Craig, you look way better in this
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: correct answer is Saniel Craig?
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: Good stuff? Okay.
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: Next one swept the nation as a trampoline sensation doubled
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: for Bert Reynolds, jumping off buildings, performed a free fall
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: from the CN Tower as a high point.
- 1:31:03Speaker 7: I don't know this a wild person.
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: Naughty Boys, Yes, Grace Dirt Banald.
- 1:31:16Speaker 5: But it's not projected. Eh, I'll try it, yes, but
- 1:31:21Speaker 5: I'll try.
- 1:31:23Speaker 11: Uh gee, super Dave Osborne, you look ridiculous, but you're
- 1:31:27Speaker 11: kind of caked, so good stunt.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: It's not Super Dave this. I just felt like I
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: had to include who the world considers to be the
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: most famous stunt man of all time, Dar Robinson. Oh never,

- 1:32:10Speaker 11: a crazy stunt and nice ass.
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: That may be true, but it's not Chris Angel. It's yes,
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: Naughty boys either one.
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: Oh, my God, is he a man?
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: Or is he the devil? Is it David Blaine?

- 1:32:29Speaker 5: I couldn't. I couldn't pull David Blaine.
- 1:32:31Speaker 7: I wouldn't have been able to.
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: That man is truly shocking. He's probably a terrible person.
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: Maybe I don't know that, But God, is this magic good?
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: We'll find out on the David Blaine episode Rode the

- 1:33:05Speaker 2: straight up, but she is used by Quentin Entertino a lot.
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: She stunt doubled for Uma Thurman. She stars in that
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: movie about a car. It's like hot No, She's like yeah,
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: She's one of the first stunt women's become like the
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: main line. It's one of Quentin Gina's films. It's like
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: hot Box or kill Box or some shit like that.
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: If you can get because I clear you clearly know
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: who this person is. If you can get somewhat close
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: to her name with the words you put out, if
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: it's not exact, I'll give you it.
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: It's like, I think she's Australian or New Zealander as well.
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: I think it's Jennifer. No, I don't know appreciate she said.

- 1:35:40Speaker 1: yellow jump suit.
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: I actually heard project.
