You're locked into Ground Signal Sports. It is
• 0:02
Friday, September 11, 2026. NFL Week 1 is officially
• 0:06
in the books. And the league just made history
• 0:09
on the other side of the world. The U .S. Open
• 0:12
men's semis are live tonight at Flushing Meadows.
• 0:15
Champions League Match Day 1 dropped some serious
• 0:17
scorelines. And F1's title race stays frozen
• 0:20
until Baku. Let's get into it. The NFL launched
• 0:24
its 2026 season. not in an American stadium,
• 0:27
but at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in front
• 0:30
of 100 ,021 fans. The 49ers dominated the Rams
• 0:34
27 -7 in the league's first -ever regular season
• 0:38
game played in Australia. Brock Purdy threw three
• 0:40
touchdown passes as San Francisco controlled
• 0:42
the game wire to wire. The Rams had no answer.
• 0:47
It was a landmark moment for the league's international
• 0:49
expansion push. The MCG was sold out weeks in
• 0:53
advance. Australian fans showed up in full, both
• 0:56
teams' jerseys filling the stands on a Thursday
• 0:58
night that will be remembered as one of the NFL's
• 1:01
defining modern images. The league is no longer
• 1:04
just America's game. The rest of the Week 1 slate
• 1:07
is on Sunday the 13th, the marquee matchup, Bills
• 1:10
versus Texans. The commanders face the Eagles
• 1:13
in what's already a divisional grudge match,
• 1:15
and Sunday night football closes with Cowboys
• 1:17
at Giants. Monday night football follows on the
• 1:20
14th, Broncos at Chiefs in Kansas City. where
• 1:23
Patrick Mahomes has been cleared to play. Bo
• 1:25
Nix starts for Denver. The 2026 U .S. Open men's
• 1:29
bracket delivered a major shock in the quarterfinals.
• 1:32
Carlos Alcaraz, the defending champion, was eliminated
• 1:34
  by Ben Shelton in five sets, 6 -7, 6 -1, 6 -3,
• 1:39
  1 -6, 7 -6. Alcaraz called Shelton a beast afterward,
• 1:43
and that reads as accurate. The American power
• 1:46
server knocked out the world's top draw. Tonight,
• 1:48
he faces fellow American Francis Tiafoe in the
• 1:51
semis, meaning a U .S. man will be in the final
• 1:53
for the first time in years. The other semifinal
• 1:56
is Alexander Zverev against Karen Kachanov. Zverev
• 2:00
has been the tour's most consistent baseline
• 2:02
force this fortnight. Kachanov, the dark horse.
• 2:04
One of those two gets Shelton or Tiafoe on Sunday.
• 2:08
On the women's side, Irina Sabalenka meets Elena
• 2:11
Rybakina in the final on Saturday the 12th after
• 2:14
Rybakina beat Coco Gauff in the semifinals. Rybakina's
• 2:18
flat, heavy ball is a nightmare for anyone on
• 2:21
hard court. Sabalenka's aggression versus Rybakina's
• 2:24
efficiency, that final is legitimate theater.
• 2:27
UCL match day one is done, and the scorelines
• 2:30
were not subtle. Barcelona put five past Feyenoord.
• 2:33
PSG demolished Sloven Bratislava 6 -1. Real Madrid
• 2:37
edged Inter Milan 2 -1 at the Bernabeu, a tight
• 2:40
one given the stakes. Manchester City beat Porto
• 2:43
  2 -0. Liverpool got past Atletico Madrid 2 -1.
• 2:47
Aston Villa won at Club Brudge 3 -2. Borussia
• 2:50
Dortmund beat Villarreal 3 -2. Real Betis upset
• 2:53
Lille 3 -2 on the road. Stuttgart beat Viking
• 2:56
  3 -1. And AEK Athens opened with a 1 -0 win over
• 3:01
LASK. The elite clubs showed their quality early.
• 3:05
PSG looks menacing. Barcelona in historic form.
• 3:08
Real Madrid took the points without looking dominant.
• 3:10
That's the kind of result that worries opponents
• 3:12
more than a blowout. The Copa Libertadores quarterfinal
• 3:16
first legs were played September 8 through 10.
• 3:18
The fixture list, Flamengo versus Independiente
• 3:21
del Valle, Palmeiras versus El Diukido, Fluminense
• 3:25
versus Platins, and Estudiantes versus Corinthians,
• 3:28
that tie finished goalless at 0 -0 in the first
• 3:31
leg. Second legs are scheduled for September
• 3:34
16 and 17. The aggregate winners advance to the
• 3:37
semifinals, with the final locked in for November
• 3:40
28 in Montevideo. Formula One is at a standstill
• 3:44
between race weekends. Kimi Antonelli leads the
• 3:46
Drivers' Championship with 267 points. George
• 3:49
Russell sits at 201. Lando Norris is fourth in
• 3:53
the standings. Max Verstappen at 127. The next
• 3:57
race is the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, September
• 4:00
24 through 26. Baku is a street circuit. Chaos
• 4:04
is not just possible, it's structurally guaranteed.
• 4:07
Antonelli has a 66. Point cushion on Russell
• 4:09
with races to go. He doesn't need to win in Baku.
• 4:12
He needs to stay clean and score points. The
• 4:15
pressure falls on Russell, who must win and hope
• 4:17
Antonelli finishes outside the top six. A controlled
• 4:20
Antonelli race could functionally close this
• 4:23
title fight. NBA training camps open September
• 4:26
  29. Three weeks out. The last major roster moves
• 4:29
are settling in. Ja Morant is in Portland. Jonathan
• 4:32
Kuminga moved to Minnesota. Klay Thompson extended
• 4:35
in Houston. The preseason slate tips off in October
• 4:38
and... The regular season follows shortly after.
• 4:41
The Western Conference arms race continues to
• 4:43
take shape. Portland with Morant gives them a
• 4:45
genuine star to build around. Minnesota added
• 4:48
a versatile two -way wing in Kuminga. Houston
• 4:51
locked in their veteran shooter. The East looks
• 4:55
just as competitive. 30 teams, 29 days until
• 4:58
camp. The league is almost back. Three things
• 5:02
to watch in the next 72 hours. One, the U .S.
• 5:05
Open men's final is Sunday. Whoever survives
• 5:08
Shelton Tiafoe and Zverev Kachanov earns a major.
• 5:11
  2. NL Week 1 Sunday slate on the 13th. Bills,
• 5:15
Commanders, Cowboys all in action. And 3. MNF
• 5:19
on Monday night. Mahomes back. Broncos in Kansas
• 5:22
City. That's the first true signal of where the
• 5:25
AFC stands heading into a full season. Ground
