- 0:59Speaker 1: reality show stars led by Bethany Frankel are accusing the
- 1:03Speaker 1: network of covering up sexual violence, condoning revenge porn, exploiting minors,
- 1:09Speaker 1: and denying mental health treatment in a bombshell legal letter.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Today with us, we have David Yanta from Behind the
- 1:16Speaker 1: Velvet Rope, who is a reality show expert and guru extraordinaire.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Thank you, David, so much for joining me. It is
- 1:47Speaker 1: such an honor and a pleasure to have you breaking
- 1:49Speaker 1: down what is going on in this reality, Bravo sphere,
- 1:55Speaker 1: NBC sphere, everything like that. How are you?
- 1:58Speaker 2: This is like an official crossover. You are now in
- 2:00Speaker 2: the ranks of all my regular crossovers. This is good, Rachel.
- 2:04Speaker 2: We're doing some collaborations here.
- 2:06Speaker 1: We really are. Well, the first thing I want to
- 2:08Speaker 1: know is what do you think of my haircut?
- 2:11Speaker 2: I mean, I like it. I like it.
- 2:15Speaker 1: You don't sound like you love it.
- 2:17Speaker 2: No, no, no. I'm taking it in. I'm all for
- 2:19Speaker 2: a haircut. I personally like shorter hair on women, so
- 2:23Speaker 2: I'm all for it, really.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I like change. As Melissa Rivers said, one of the
- 2:31Speaker 1: best things you could do to change your life is
- 2:35Speaker 1: have a good haircut. It reshapes your entire look.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I agree. And you know what? I don't understand. Why
- 2:42Speaker 2: is it when you go to the same person for
- 2:43Speaker 2: a haircut, it's like good, good, good, bad, good, good, bad.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Like if it's always good, why can't it always be good?
- 2:51Speaker 2: It's not. They screw up sometimes.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I know. It's like luck of the draw. Anyway, so
- 2:56Speaker 1: let's get to why we're here. Can you break down
- 2:59Speaker 1: what is going on and what these papers mean that
- 3:01Speaker 1: were filed by Mark Garagas?
- 3:03Speaker 2: I mean, Bethany Frankel is, you know, listen, she says
- 3:07Speaker 2: she was going to, you know, call for this potential
- 3:10Speaker 2: strike because of SAG-AFTRA. And you're like, all right, listen,
- 3:13Speaker 2: if Bethany, if anyone could do it, Bethany could, right?
- 3:16Speaker 2: I mean, she led the Be Strong movement. She's flying
- 3:18Speaker 2: planes to Puerto Rico and delivering relief supplies, but you
- 3:21Speaker 2: don't really like, is this going to go anywhere? Then
- 3:25Speaker 2: when she says, you know, I have like Mark Garagos
- 3:27Speaker 2: and Brian Friedman involved, I'm like, okay, well, this is
- 3:30Speaker 2: not just going away. Brian Friedman has even said, this
- 3:33Speaker 2: is war So this is going to be an interesting one, Rachel,
- 3:37Speaker 2: to see how this all plays out.
- 3:39Speaker 1: But why is she doing this? Because everyone thought she
- 3:42Speaker 1: was a Bravo darling. She's done so well with her
- 3:45Speaker 1: career and her life since her show. She obviously did
- 3:48Speaker 1: well on the show. She led the charge. She was like,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you know, she led the charge in terms of housewives
- 3:56Speaker 1: and how they can turn that into a lucrative business.
- 3:59Speaker 1: So why do you think she is now turning on them?
- 4:02Speaker 2: Well, a couple of things. I mean, honestly, a couple
- 4:05Speaker 2: of things. I think that first of all, it's like, look,
- 4:09Speaker 2: when she says that she's been given the opportunity to
- 4:11Speaker 2: be invited back to the network many times, that is true.
- 4:14Speaker 2: She could have been part of the girls trip for
- 4:16Speaker 2: New York and she could have been back on Housewives.
- 4:18Speaker 2: So she clearly doesn't want to give up the control
- 4:21Speaker 2: and go back. And if anyone's really following her that
- 4:24Speaker 2: closely with all these different incarnations of her podcast, She
- 4:28Speaker 2: really has been doing these TikToks and lately, even before this,
- 4:32Speaker 2: exposing like, let me tell you how. I kind of
- 4:35Speaker 2: have the same style on my podcast of like, let's
- 4:38Speaker 2: cut through the bullshit. This is how this bullshit really works. Now,
- 4:41Speaker 2: for everything I know, Bethany knows 10 times more. I mean,
- 4:44Speaker 2: she was on the damn show for that long. So
- 4:46Speaker 2: she's really been going down this road of like, let
- 4:48Speaker 2: me tell you how this really works. And it's not
- 4:50Speaker 2: all rosy. So she's been saying these things quietly, like
- 4:54Speaker 2: on her own platform for the last few months. So
- 4:57Speaker 2: I do believe she really look, it's all about Bethany
- 5:01Speaker 2: as well. So like, she doesn't need the money. she
- 5:04Speaker 2: truly does not want to go back to housewives. That's
- 5:07Speaker 2: not like a, you know, I don't want to go back.
- 5:09Speaker 1: What's the end goal for all these people? Are they
- 5:12Speaker 1: asking for money? Are they asking to just have their
- 5:15Speaker 1: voice heard? Like, I'm not understanding what they're asking for.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Well, Bethany is, I mean, like I have to get
- 5:20Speaker 2: into the papers and really read it all, but I mean,
- 5:22Speaker 2: a lot of it is it's the money. It's like,
- 5:24Speaker 2: you know, we don't, we film and we sign our
- 5:27Speaker 2: rights away and we'll get into like, you know what
- 5:29Speaker 2: you're signing and all that. But you know, there's no
- 5:32Speaker 2: back end, like, you know, residuals, like friends get residuals,
- 5:35Speaker 2: the modern family people, mind you, I know a lot
- 5:38Speaker 2: of I interview a lot of like 80s and 90s
- 5:40Speaker 2: stars on my podcast, none of them are making any
- 5:43Speaker 2: money from residuals. So it's like, you know, there are,
- 5:45Speaker 2: but she's saying at least you should make something like
- 5:48Speaker 2: if she's on season one of Real Housewives of New York,
- 5:51Speaker 2: and now they play it on Peacock and Hulu, and
- 5:54Speaker 2: they're doing a Bravo marathon over Christmas, like, Every time
- 5:57Speaker 2: it airs, we should get something, her and everyone else.
- 6:00Speaker 2: That's the first thing she's claiming.
- 6:02Speaker 1: It sounds like this potential lawsuit is just asking for
- 6:06Speaker 1: things to change later, like starting now. But it doesn't
- 6:10Speaker 1: sound like it's asking for retroactive payment. Or do you
- 6:13Speaker 1: think people will be asking for a settlement from Bravo
- 6:17Speaker 1: and all the other networks?
- 6:19Speaker 2: I believe, and I have to, because she keeps doing
- 6:22Speaker 2: these TikToks, I think it's going forward a lot. I
- 6:26Speaker 2: don't know if they're asking for anything in back pay,
- 6:30Speaker 2: but I think she's asking like immediately that these things change.
- 6:34Speaker 2: That's one of them. I know she's also asking for
- 6:37Speaker 2: the Bethany clause to be stricken. She signed that initial
- 6:41Speaker 2: contract for $ 7, 250, but she said the number a million times.
- 6:46Speaker 2: And she struck this clause that said, I will not
- 6:49Speaker 2: give you a potential, you know, a percentage of any
- 6:52Speaker 2: business that I get off the show. Ever since she
- 6:55Speaker 2: sold Skinny Girl, I don't know if it was really
- 6:57Speaker 2: 120 million. I've heard a lot of stories that that's
- 7:00Speaker 2: not the real number, that it was less. But whatever
- 7:03Speaker 2: it was, Bravo got nothing. And that changed the whole thing.
- 7:06Speaker 2: And now there's this clause that says you have. And
- 7:08Speaker 2: when I say you have to give them a percentage
- 7:10Speaker 2: of everything, I believe that applies to everything. Books, Countess
- 7:14Speaker 2: Luanne's Cabaret. Ariana's on Dancing with the Stars. Anything that
- 7:19Speaker 2: you get, you make $ 100, 000 in Dancing with the Stars,
- 7:22Speaker 2: you owe them whatever percentage. That's what the Bethany clause is.
- 7:26Speaker 2: She wants that stricken.
- 7:28Speaker 1: And do you think that that extends to even when
- 7:30Speaker 1: you're off the show? So like after these people are
- 7:35Speaker 1: no longer on the show and they're still getting book
- 7:37Speaker 1: deals or alcohol deals or whatever it is, does that
- 7:40Speaker 1: go beyond their time on the show?
- 7:44Speaker 2: I think my understanding is if the product started when
- 7:48Speaker 2: you were on the show, I don't know if the
- 7:50Speaker 2: product started. The more questions you ask me, the more
- 7:52Speaker 2: questions I realize I actually have. That's a good point.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 7:57Speaker 1: There's a lot of questions to be asked and a
- 7:59Speaker 1: lot of things to change going forward, I think, is
- 8:03Speaker 1: the ballgame we're having right now of like, is this
- 8:07Speaker 1: really going to stick? And probably they are, they meaning
- 8:10Speaker 1: the lawyers are seeing how many people are going to
- 8:13Speaker 1: contact them right now and say, hey, we want to
- 8:16Speaker 1: be part of this. And from there, because I think
- 8:18Speaker 1: the papers were a warning and the fact that a
- 8:22Speaker 1: suit was going to be, is being filed, but it
- 8:24Speaker 1: doesn't say what they want. It doesn't say what they're
- 8:27Speaker 1: asking for. At least we don't know that yet. And
- 8:29Speaker 1: obviously it's to change the laws and the values going
- 8:33Speaker 1: forward and create a union. But as of what these
- 8:36Speaker 1: people and why they want to jump on the bandwagon now,
- 8:40Speaker 1: is it because they think they're going to get something
- 8:42Speaker 1: out of it now and some sort of payment for
- 8:44Speaker 1: the abuse that they've gone through or whatever they're claiming, right?
- 8:48Speaker 2: Yeah. And like the papers, yeah, it wasn't a lawsuit,
- 8:50Speaker 2: but the papers also are saying, look, we're not getting
- 8:54Speaker 2: to the contract. Like the contract, you're getting consideration, you're signing,
- 8:58Speaker 2: you're doing a job, you're getting paid. They're not saying
- 9:00Speaker 2: the contract's you know, yes, you knew what you were signing,
- 9:04Speaker 2: but they're saying like, you as a human being cannot
- 9:07Speaker 2: sign away like unconscionable and put yourself in like harm's way.
- 9:11Speaker 2: So that's where they're reaching. And listen, I know people.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I know people have on my show have told stories
- 9:17Speaker 2: of like, you know, the doors were locked. I tried
- 9:20Speaker 2: to leave filming. I tried to open the door. They said,
- 9:22Speaker 2: you're not leaving filming. You're going to go have a
- 9:25Speaker 2: confrontation with that person. I understand you want to leave.
- 9:27Speaker 2: You're not. And that's also false imprisonment. I mean, I'm
- 9:30Speaker 2: a lawyer myself. but that has nothing to do with it.
- 9:32Speaker 2: So it's like, they're just saying like situations like that
- 9:35Speaker 2: or situations like, listen, you were on Millionaire Matchmaker for me.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I mean, this just happened for me on Millionaire Matchmaker.
- 9:42Speaker 2: I showed up, I was at the mixer. My mixer
- 9:45Speaker 2: was at 7.30 in the morning. I was like, they're like,
- 9:48Speaker 2: what do you want to drink? I'm like, oh my God,
- 9:49Speaker 2: thank God. I'm like, I need the biggest, strongest black
- 9:52Speaker 2: coffee you have. They're like, what? They're like, no, you
- 9:55Speaker 2: have to have a drink. I mean, that did happen
- 9:57Speaker 2: to me. I mean, I'm not joining the suit or
- 9:58Speaker 2: I'm not even asked because I was out one freaking episode,
- 10:01Speaker 2: but you know, there's all these things about like being
- 10:03Speaker 2: forced to drink and, you know, being locked in somewhere.
- 10:06Speaker 2: So they're saying like the situations, like you can't, it's
- 10:08Speaker 2: not whether you sign the contract or not. It's that
- 10:11Speaker 2: you can't put people in these types of situations. Like
- 10:14Speaker 2: this is outside the realm of the contract. So Yes.
- 10:17Speaker 2: They're saying it was like those type of conditions and
- 10:21Speaker 2: they're asking for fair and equal pay. And like, who knows,
- 10:24Speaker 2: like SAG-AFTRA get health insurance. I don't know, but this
- 10:28Speaker 2: could be big.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it could be very big. So obviously this all
- 10:33Speaker 1: started because of the strike that's going on with the
- 10:35Speaker 1: writer's strike right now and everything sort of shut down
- 10:40Speaker 1: in terms of real Hollywood. So the only kind of
- 10:43Speaker 1: TV that's going on and filming right now is reality TV.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Right.
- 10:47Speaker 1: And I think, you know, Bethany and whoever else got
- 10:50Speaker 1: this idea because now it's like these people are should
- 10:54Speaker 1: be valued because that's where entertainment is coming from.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Right.
- 10:58Speaker 1: What I have been saying to you on your podcast
- 11:01Speaker 1: and behind the velvet rope and on mine, when we talk,
- 11:05Speaker 1: because my podcast really isn't about reality TV, but we
- 11:08Speaker 1: have talked about what's been going on with Vanderpump rules. Now, I,
- 11:14Speaker 1: from the beginning have thought that this whole way that
- 11:19Speaker 1: people reacted towards Raquel and Tom's affair was completely out
- 11:27Speaker 1: of control. And I think I even said to you
- 11:28Speaker 1: on your podcast that I felt like, you know, somebody
- 11:32Speaker 1: is going to have some repercussions. Is Bravo, the network,
- 11:36Speaker 1: going to be canceled, going to be culture canceled because
- 11:41Speaker 1: of what's going on right now and because of sort
- 11:44Speaker 1: of the fallout from the Vanderpump Rules scandal? I really
- 11:48Speaker 1: think that the way, I mean, I remember talking to
- 11:51Speaker 1: you about what happened at the reunion and saying I
- 11:54Speaker 1: was shocked to see.
- 11:57Speaker 3: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 12:00Speaker 3: know about the drawer. The drawer.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Just the one square before bed. Or two, you know.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Nobody's watching.
- 12:12Speaker 3: You deserve a treat.
- 12:16Speaker 5: With eight flavours to choose from, you can choose the
- 12:19Speaker 5: flavour you favour with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 12:27Speaker 1: How not only Andy, but Lisa, and then probably the
- 12:31Speaker 1: other staff allowed that kind of verbal abuse and assault,
- 12:35Speaker 1: verbal assaults kind of to go on in that room
- 12:37Speaker 1: because it reminds me of Trump. Do you know what
- 12:41Speaker 1: I mean? It's like the people that sit there and
- 12:43Speaker 1: riot and are nasty and mean, just, you know, fester
- 12:47Speaker 1: more people to behave that way. And it's just not okay.
- 12:52Speaker 1: And the way that those, you know, that Lala and
- 12:54Speaker 1: Jason got, is that his name?
- 12:55Speaker 2: Jason?
- 12:55Speaker 1: Jason. James? James Kennedy, the one with the accent?
- 12:59Speaker 2: Everyone has two names. So you're, you're under, you thinking
- 13:02Speaker 2: his name was Jason is very understandable. No, it's James. James, okay. Yes.
- 13:06Speaker 1: So, so the fact that they got up and screamed
- 13:11Speaker 1: at her, pointed in her face and was like, shut up,
- 13:13Speaker 1: you moron. Like all these things. There's a way to
- 13:16Speaker 1: conduct yourself on TV to get ratings. But that to
- 13:20Speaker 1: me was like abusive.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:22Speaker 1: And I thought that as a, as a character, it's
- 13:26Speaker 1: one thing, but as a character for, for Rachel Raquel,
- 13:30Speaker 1: I thought, you know what, that's, this is over the
- 13:33Speaker 1: top and a network should have stepped in and said, guys,
- 13:36Speaker 1: control yourself. Like this is not okay.
- 13:40Speaker 2: We love a good Trump reference, even though we accept
- 13:42Speaker 2: all political aspirations here. And, you know, we have lots
- 13:46Speaker 2: of conservative listeners and lots of liberal listeners. No, I mean,
- 13:50Speaker 2: I get your point. And, like, you also have to
- 13:52Speaker 2: think of, like, nothing they wrote even gets into, like,
- 13:55Speaker 2: I mean, there have been lawsuits between Bravo people for
- 13:58Speaker 2: actual physical evidence. altercation. So there's all that too. I mean,
- 14:02Speaker 2: this isn't even.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Like we saw with the filming of the housewives of Potomac.
- 14:07Speaker 1: People were ripping off wigs, punching each other, threatening to
- 14:11Speaker 1: knock each other out.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Which I'm telling you, I guarantee you, we will never
- 14:15Speaker 2: see that. I guarantee you that will be edited out.
- 14:17Speaker 2: It was between two friends of not even main characters.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I guarantee you what we saw will never make the
- 14:23Speaker 2: light of day next season on Potomac.
- 14:26Speaker 1: But do you think that was real or you think
- 14:27Speaker 1: they were trying to get on the show?
- 14:30Speaker 2: Well, that's well, I mean, they were officially friends of,
- 14:33Speaker 2: but right. That makes it even worse. I think they were,
- 14:35Speaker 2: I think it was both. I think two things get
- 14:38Speaker 2: to be true. I think it was real. And I
- 14:40Speaker 2: think they were thirsty and they wanted their moment and
- 14:43Speaker 2: they thought, and I really think to be honest with you,
- 14:46Speaker 2: I think it wouldn't shock me if they were fired
- 14:48Speaker 2: because of this. They're not, it's not caring.
- 14:50Speaker 1: At least now, right now because of what's happening.
- 14:54Speaker 2: So, okay.
- 14:55Speaker 1: There was certain parts of the, of what happened in
- 14:57Speaker 1: the paperwork that I thought was kind of obvious when
- 15:00Speaker 1: they're talking about how some kids were not paid for
- 15:05Speaker 1: their usage, their likeness, whatever. And they for years have
- 15:08Speaker 1: been on the show and got no residuals and got
- 15:11Speaker 1: no payment for it. What do you think about that?
- 15:14Speaker 1: That's obviously the kids of, you know, I can think
- 15:17Speaker 1: of kids, probably Tamara's kids, Teresa's kids. Do you think
- 15:22Speaker 1: they were ever paid to begin with?
- 15:25Speaker 2: I mean, there's like Teresa's kids I've heard at times
- 15:28Speaker 2: have been paid. Yeah. But I think, so I think
- 15:30Speaker 2: there's exceptions like Brielle Bierman, of course, that was paid
- 15:33Speaker 2: for Don't Get Tardy. But yeah, in general, that's true.
- 15:37Speaker 2: In general, the house husbands don't get paid. So really
- 15:40Speaker 2: the husbands, the kids, nobody gets paid except for the
- 15:44Speaker 2: actual housewife in general, with some rare exceptions.
- 15:49Speaker 1: And you know what? I just had dinner with Harry
- 15:50Speaker 1: Dubin two nights ago and we talked about this. Yeah.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Where did you go?
- 15:56Speaker 1: We went to a place called Harry's in West Palm Beach.
- 15:58Speaker 1: It's actually the new hot spot here.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Did you tell Harry I said hi?
- 16:01Speaker 1: I did.
- 16:02Speaker 5: I did.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I hope so. And Harry's going to be doing my
- 16:06Speaker 1: podcast soon to talk all things reality TV and what
- 16:09Speaker 1: it was like to be on the show.
- 16:13Speaker 2: And he was on this podcast.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Go on.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:15Speaker 1: But what he said to me was, You know, Harry
- 16:18Speaker 1: is someone who's very interesting because he was on a
- 16:21Speaker 1: number of episodes as the other, the friend, the guy
- 16:25Speaker 1: who was in relationships with a number of housewives. His
- 16:30Speaker 1: name is still synonymous with the show. He told me
- 16:33Speaker 1: one season he was paid $ 10, 000. He's never been paid ever.
- 16:38Speaker 1: for another season, but his name is more famous than
- 16:42Speaker 1: half of the people that have been on it for
- 16:43Speaker 1: a number of different seasons. So every night I'm out
- 16:46Speaker 1: with Harry, including two nights ago, women come up to
- 16:50Speaker 1: him and want to know him, want to talk to him,
- 16:54Speaker 1: want to associate with him just because of his interaction
- 16:57Speaker 1: with the show. They think of him as big as
- 16:59Speaker 1: a Ramona or a Countess Luann or whatever. So I
- 17:03Speaker 1: find that really interesting that he got paid so little,
- 17:07Speaker 1: but made so much traction for himself. But to him,
- 17:11Speaker 1: he thinks it's a bad look, right? He doesn't want
- 17:13Speaker 1: to be associated with it because he's a real person
- 17:15Speaker 1: that has a real job and a career and a life.
- 17:18Speaker 1: And he feels like it dumbs him down. I asked
- 17:21Speaker 1: him if he was going to join the lawsuit and
- 17:23Speaker 1: he said, absolutely not. He didn't believe in that kind
- 17:25Speaker 1: of stuff, but he wishes everybody the best.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Interesting. Well, first of all, you know, I've been with
- 17:31Speaker 2: him many nights at the Regency. I've been out with
- 17:33Speaker 2: you and him together. Yeah, people come up to him
- 17:36Speaker 2: wherever he goes. It's a real thing that it's like
- 17:39Speaker 2: we're not making it up. I've seen it happen.
- 17:41Speaker 1: But that's the power of reality TV making you into
- 17:44Speaker 1: a star, don't you think?
- 17:46Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, to be honest with you, my mouth
- 17:48Speaker 2: is on the floor and it takes a lot to
- 17:50Speaker 2: shock me in reality TV. I'm shocked he was even
- 17:52Speaker 2: paid $ 10, 000. Shocked. Shocked. I would have said zero, zero, zero,
- 17:57Speaker 2: and zero for Harry. Yeah.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Well, Harry, I feel like was a big enough star
- 18:02Speaker 1: and his name came up enough that they probably felt
- 18:05Speaker 1: that they could pay him. Do you know what I mean?
- 18:07Speaker 1: So I don't know about Mario. I've been on a
- 18:11Speaker 1: couple of dates with Mario. I should have asked him,
- 18:13Speaker 1: but I didn't.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Mario would be such a good match for you.
- 18:19Speaker 1: We've been on some dates.
- 18:20Speaker 2: We've been on some dates.
- 18:21Speaker 1: He's actually a great guy. No, a few years ago.
- 18:24Speaker 1: We went on some dates. You know, I met him
- 18:26Speaker 1: on Bumble. He came to New York and he took
- 18:29Speaker 1: me out on a date in New York. We had
- 18:30Speaker 1: a great time. And then maybe two years later, I
- 18:34Speaker 1: was down in Florida and he came to a dinner
- 18:37Speaker 1: party at my house. And it was actually a great story.
- 18:40Speaker 1: He kissed me goodnight by his car and my daughter,
- 18:43Speaker 1: I had put her to sleep already. And there was
- 18:44Speaker 1: like 10 people in the house. And I walked him
- 18:47Speaker 1: out to his car to say goodbye to him. And
- 18:49Speaker 1: he kisses me and I hear a piercing scream. And
- 18:54Speaker 1: it was like something out of the Exorcist movie. My daughter,
- 18:57Speaker 1: who was young at the time, was standing under the
- 18:59Speaker 1: light of the foyer in the house with the door
- 19:02Speaker 1: open and just screamed a high-pitched scream because she saw
- 19:05Speaker 1: us kissing. It wasn't like a make-out kiss. It was
- 19:08Speaker 1: just like a peck, but a long peck, you know?
- 19:11Speaker 1: It was horrifying. And he jumped, I jumped, and I
- 19:13Speaker 1: was like, Wyatt, what is your problem? And then she
- 19:16Speaker 1: ran back in the house. And that was the last
- 19:18Speaker 1: time I saw Mario. Oh, my God. We're all talking
- 19:21Speaker 1: about Mario Singer for people that don't know what we're
- 19:24Speaker 1: talking about. Ramona's ex-husband.
- 19:25Speaker 2: And did Mario say, man, this would be such a
- 19:29Speaker 2: trade-off from that train wreck Ramona Singer?
- 19:32Speaker 1: No, he always spoke very kindly of her.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Well, guess what?
- 19:36Speaker 1: That's a sign of a nice guy.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Guess who does not speak very kindly of her? David
- 19:41Speaker 2: Yontef from Behind the Velvet Rope. So we could just
- 19:43Speaker 2: leave it at that. Nothing my listeners have not heard before.
- 19:47Speaker 2: um love you avery thanks for coming on the podcast
- 19:50Speaker 2: um that's a very interesting story about um mario i
- 19:53Speaker 2: i would have said harry got paid zero so he
- 19:55Speaker 2: because i thought of him i thought of obis asking
- 19:58Speaker 2: him myself like so he's not joining the lawsuit he
- 20:00Speaker 2: just doesn't want to do it.

- 21:36Speaker 1: Restrictions apply. So let's make some predictions on who you
- 21:41Speaker 1: think is in the lawsuit.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Do you know who also doesn't want- I was going
- 21:47Speaker 2: to say Kim D on my weekly patron. She has
- 21:50Speaker 2: a story. I mean, she has a lot of stories,
- 21:51Speaker 2: but I've known this story for years. She's told it
- 21:53Speaker 2: like she was one of the ones and she was
- 21:55Speaker 2: in Teresa was going to throw the drink on her.
- 21:57Speaker 2: And that's when she was like, no one's throwing a
- 21:59Speaker 2: drink on me. She went to leave. She's one of many,
- 22:02Speaker 2: but she's specifically, and she had a big girlfriend and
- 22:05Speaker 2: the girlfriend was like, I mean, not a girlfriend, like romantically,
- 22:07Speaker 2: but her girlfriend's like, we're going to just unbolt the door.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Like we're not staying. And producers were like, they formed
- 22:13Speaker 2: like a thing of like, you cannot cross, you have
- 22:16Speaker 2: to go confront Teresa. So that's where it's like those situations.
- 22:20Speaker 2: And this is just cause I know Kim, but I
- 22:22Speaker 2: know other stories too. Like you can't.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Was that, was that forced? Did they know that Teresa
- 22:29Speaker 1: was going to flip a table and, you know, are
- 22:32Speaker 1: those things pre-produced and they tell her to freak out
- 22:34Speaker 1: like that?
- 22:35Speaker 2: They were setting it up for like, Kim saw the
- 22:38Speaker 2: drink and she's like, no one is throwing a drink
- 22:40Speaker 2: on me. You've got to be kidding me. And that's
- 22:42Speaker 2: what she's like, I'm out. I'm out. You're all dirty bitches.
- 22:45Speaker 2: And I think she meant producers to everyone. And that's
- 22:48Speaker 2: where it's like, you can't stop people from leaving somewhere.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Alison Dubois, the medium from the dinner party from Beverly
- 22:54Speaker 2: Hills said on my show, you know, when she went
- 22:57Speaker 2: to that dinner party, they took her keys. They didn't
- 23:00Speaker 2: take her keys because she was drinking. They also made
- 23:02Speaker 2: her drink. She said, I've never, everyone knows Alison from
- 23:06Speaker 2: this huge martini glass. And Alison has said, that was
- 23:09Speaker 2: the glass they brought me to drink it. There was
- 23:12Speaker 2: no alternative glass. This wasn't like a rest. They brought
- 23:16Speaker 2: the glass and that was the only option, an extra,
- 23:19Speaker 2: extra large martini glass. She's like, they didn't take my
- 23:21Speaker 2: keys because I was drinking. They took my keys because
- 23:23Speaker 2: they're like.
- 23:25Speaker 3: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 23:28Speaker 3: know about the drawer.
- 23:30Speaker 4: The drawer. Just the one square before bed. Or two,
- 23:37Speaker 4: you know. Nobody's watching.
- 23:40Speaker 3: You deserve a treat.
- 23:44Speaker 5: With eight flavours to choose from, you can choose the
- 23:47Speaker 5: flavour you favour with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 23:55Speaker 2: She tried to leave and they said, the scene is
- 23:57Speaker 2: not even near over. This is only beginning. You physically
- 24:00Speaker 2: cannot leave. So when you get into things like this,
- 24:03Speaker 2: you're like, there's a lot of things that are probably
- 24:06Speaker 2: outside the norm. And that's what a lot of this
- 24:09Speaker 2: paperwork suggests of like, forget what you signed. Like you're
- 24:13Speaker 2: not signing your, you know, you can't be treated a
- 24:16Speaker 2: certain way regardless of what you signed. That's almost goes
- 24:19Speaker 2: to like a hostile workplace.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Yeah, of course. Well, you know, that reminds me of
- 24:22Speaker 1: when I was on Millionaire Matchmaker and they it was
- 24:26Speaker 1: a little bit different because it was a celebrity version
- 24:28Speaker 1: and they Patty picked my suitors. she interviewed them for me.
- 24:36Speaker 1: And then she helped pick the final one for me.
- 24:39Speaker 1: And then they created a baseball date. We were at
- 24:43Speaker 1: a batting cage and then we had to go to
- 24:45Speaker 1: a dinner that night. And I had nothing in common
- 24:48Speaker 1: with this guy. I had no chemistry, but the way
- 24:50Speaker 1: they edited it, they made it look like we were
- 24:52Speaker 1: falling madly in love. Every time they would go to
- 24:55Speaker 1: do the one-on-one with us and they would do production.
- 24:58Speaker 1: We would shoot of us, you know, hitting the ball
- 25:01Speaker 1: and then we'd have to do one-on-ones and they'd tell
- 25:03Speaker 1: me what to say. They would say, Rachel, you, you
- 25:07Speaker 1: should say, you know, all these positive things and that
- 25:10Speaker 1: you're really falling for him. And it was really hot
- 25:12Speaker 1: when he did this. And I was laughing with the
- 25:15Speaker 1: producer at the time. I forget her name. I really
- 25:17Speaker 1: liked her actually. I was like, but I, I hate him.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Like there's nothing that I'm attracted to about them, him.
- 25:25Speaker 1: And she's like, but Rachel, we're trying to edit this
- 25:27Speaker 1: a certain way. Come on, get on board. And the
- 25:29Speaker 1: night where I had that night, we went to a restaurant.
- 25:32Speaker 1: I could not, I can talk to a toad. I
- 25:34Speaker 1: literally can talk to a frog. I could not talk
- 25:37Speaker 1: to this guy. I had nothing to say to him.
- 25:38Speaker 1: It was awful. And halfway through production, they told me,
- 25:42Speaker 1: they pulled me aside and they said, we need you
- 25:44Speaker 1: to kiss him. I said, how am I going to
- 25:45Speaker 1: kiss this guy? And what, how would that even be normal?
- 25:49Speaker 1: We're not even talking about anything. And they told me
- 25:52Speaker 1: how to do it, when to do it. They told
- 25:54Speaker 1: me when I got up from the table, walk straight out,
- 25:57Speaker 1: go to the front door and there's cameras hidden there
- 25:59Speaker 1: and get and do the kiss. Well, it was so
- 26:02Speaker 1: amazing the way they edited it because I'm walking out
- 26:05Speaker 1: with him. He's talking about a bunch of nonsense. And
- 26:07Speaker 1: literally I turn... to him as he's in the middle
- 26:10Speaker 1: of a sentence and I pull him in and I
- 26:11Speaker 1: kiss him quite frankly to shut him up and I
- 26:14Speaker 1: had seen out of the corner of my eyes all
- 26:16Speaker 1: the cameramen there you know what I mean and by
- 26:18Speaker 1: the way this was a restaurant hustling and bustling with
- 26:20Speaker 1: people eating there so it was a little bit uncomfortable
- 26:23Speaker 1: and I pull him in and I start to kiss
- 26:24Speaker 1: him and I had warned her I said you're getting
- 26:26Speaker 1: one kiss from me and that's really it and it
- 26:29Speaker 1: all worked and then the way they edited it with
- 26:31Speaker 1: the music swelling and you know our beautiful the way
- 26:34Speaker 1: we looked we look so good that it all made
- 26:36Speaker 1: sense that this was a great date but i can
- 26:38Speaker 1: tell you it was completely fabricated.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Yeah well and i mean now and we're not knocking
- 26:45Speaker 2: patty i have a very loyal and i have a
- 26:47Speaker 2: very loyal listener you might know her her name is
- 26:49Speaker 2: jill zarin from the real housewives of new york i
- 26:52Speaker 2: jill is listening this is a real true story i
- 26:54Speaker 2: love you jill so jill We know that you're listening
- 26:58Speaker 2: and we know that you're going to call Patty. Patty
- 27:00Speaker 2: can listen too. We are not saying anything bad about Patty.
- 27:03Speaker 2: This is not a joke, Rachel. This is real. So Jill,
- 27:07Speaker 2: before you call Patty, we are not saying anything bad
- 27:10Speaker 2: about Patty. We love Patty Stanger.
- 27:13Speaker 1: No, Patty's great. It was the production of it.
- 27:15Speaker 2: I know.
- 27:15Speaker 5: I know.
- 27:16Speaker 1: She wasn't even there that night. She doesn't even know
- 27:17Speaker 1: what happened.
- 27:18Speaker 2: I know. Trust me. I just want to make it
- 27:20Speaker 2: very clear. And we love you too, Jill. She's listening.
- 27:25Speaker 2: I'm not joking. So, you know, this is all what's
- 27:30Speaker 2: going on. Like, listen, I think everybody... is interested. Everyone
- 27:34Speaker 2: is quietly saying, go Bethany, right? Like if you could
- 27:37Speaker 2: start getting residuals, you know, I think it's going back.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Like if you were on a show that you're not
- 27:43Speaker 2: on anymore and they air it tomorrow and you could
- 27:45Speaker 2: start getting something.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Yeah, Celebrity Rehab is on Amazon Prime. I think it
- 27:50Speaker 1: was the best season that I was on. I would
- 27:52Speaker 1: love to get residuals because I'd be promoting it all
- 27:54Speaker 1: the time.
- 27:55Speaker 2: And I was on Million Dollar Listing. I was on
- 27:58Speaker 2: Millionaire Matchmaker. I'd like some money too. Like, can I
- 28:01Speaker 2: get some money from this?
- 28:02Speaker 1: All right. So let's make some predictions of who you
- 28:04Speaker 1: think might already be in the lawsuit or should be.
- 28:08Speaker 2: And then we should talk about what's going to happen
- 28:10Speaker 2: with all this. Yeah. Yeah.
- 28:12Speaker 1: So who do you think?
- 28:14Speaker 2: Well, I said this, I said this recently to someone,
- 28:16Speaker 2: I don't know if it was you, the two people
- 28:18Speaker 2: I think that are probably in where there's rumors, but
- 28:22Speaker 2: I mean, they really, I think the two biggest names
- 28:24Speaker 2: that would really help this once these names are revealed
- 28:27Speaker 2: are a mini leaks and B Raquel Rachel Levis. Those
- 28:33Speaker 2: are the two names right now that I think we
- 28:35Speaker 2: need to see. If they're there, I mean, Nene sued Bravo,
- 28:39Speaker 2: and there's a little piece of it that's still going on.
- 28:42Speaker 2: So I don't know if Nene has been told by
- 28:44Speaker 2: her lawyers to lay low, but her name has been
- 28:48Speaker 2: thrown around. But to me, it's like, if I were Bethany,
- 28:53Speaker 2: I would align myself for the help. I mean, granted,
- 28:55Speaker 2: you have Garagos and Friedman, you don't need a bunch
- 28:57Speaker 2: of help, but Nene is such a pool of Nene
- 29:00Speaker 2: has even said, I've been saying all this. Now we
- 29:03Speaker 2: could all read into this any way you want, but
- 29:05Speaker 2: she's like, I've been saying all of this and no
- 29:06Speaker 2: one has taken me seriously. Now, whatever that is, we
- 29:09Speaker 2: can't go back. But I think if Nene joins with Bethany,
- 29:13Speaker 2: whether it was number two or behind the scenes, Nene's
- 29:15Speaker 2: got a lot of stories and the dirt is going
- 29:18Speaker 2: to come out.
- 29:19Speaker 1: And Raquel for sure, because she's the one that I
- 29:22Speaker 1: think really started to have people see what was going
- 29:26Speaker 1: on here. But then, you know, you have people like
- 29:28Speaker 1: Kelly Dodd, who I know she's kind of controversial. A
- 29:31Speaker 1: lot of people, you know, have their feelings about her. However,
- 29:35Speaker 1: I've watched people on Bravo, including Andy during Watch What
- 29:39Speaker 1: Happens Live, you know, and other people on it, like
- 29:42Speaker 1: facilitate talking badly about her. Now, whether or not this
- 29:46Speaker 1: gets to her and, you know, makes her have a
- 29:49Speaker 1: mental health crisis. That's it is the point, I guess.
- 29:52Speaker 1: But like the point before that is that these people
- 29:55Speaker 1: are continually talking shit about people no longer on the show.
- 30:00Speaker 1: And that could be really debilitating for someone. And they
- 30:03Speaker 1: may have been kicked off a show because they didn't
- 30:05Speaker 1: say or do the right thing or participate in a way.
- 30:08Speaker 1: So I think she's an interesting one. Someone for me,
- 30:11Speaker 1: I think a big person that should get involved would
- 30:16Speaker 1: be Mike Schuett from Shaws of Sunset because they made
- 30:22Speaker 1: it seem like because of his sort of issues he
- 30:25Speaker 1: was having and the.
- 30:29Speaker 2: That Paulina, which was alleged in all of that.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Yeah, Paulina, that that the show was canceled. And I've
- 30:35Speaker 1: actually spoken to him. And that's not the case. The
- 30:38Speaker 1: show was canceled before that. And he has a story
- 30:42Speaker 1: to tell. And I think it'll be an interesting story
- 30:44Speaker 1: to tell. But I think that whole cast, you know,
- 30:47Speaker 1: because the show was canceled, there's a lot of questions
- 30:49Speaker 1: of what happened there.
- 30:51Speaker 2: And yes, yes, yes. And yes. The thing with Raquel, well,
- 30:55Speaker 2: her castmates, I mean, we're heavily into the new season
- 30:58Speaker 2: and there is no Raquel. So this whole, she's been
- 31:00Speaker 2: holding out for money. I don't know, but her castmates
- 31:03Speaker 2: are now starting to say, oh, we don't think she's coming.
- 31:05Speaker 2: We think she's joining Bethany's lawsuit. Just want to say
- 31:08Speaker 2: two things get to be true. You can actually be
- 31:11Speaker 2: on the show and still be a part of this.
- 31:13Speaker 2: I agree. I think if Bethany hasn't spoken to her,
- 31:16Speaker 2: it's such a missed opportunity. I would think she has.
- 31:18Speaker 2: I mean, Right. The way she was treated. I mean, also, right.
- 31:22Speaker 2: The thing with Mike is you can say anything you want.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Look at what Bravo is being accused of. If the
- 31:27Speaker 2: ratings were good on Shazza Sunset, Mike could have gone
- 31:31Speaker 2: and rid it off into the sunset and they have
- 31:32Speaker 2: lost his job. The show would have still gone on. Also,
- 31:35Speaker 2: you know, whose name is thrown around as attached to
- 31:37Speaker 2: the lawsuit is Stassi Schroeder. Cause that is another thing
- 31:40Speaker 2: which is being tied to this is, you know, at
- 31:43Speaker 2: a normal workplace, like you look at Chris Harrison, Chris
- 31:46Speaker 2: Harrison is, for being racially insensitive to Rachel Lindsay. We're
- 31:49Speaker 2: not going to argue those debates today. Left with $ 25 million.
- 31:52Speaker 2: At Bravo, where's Stassi's money? Agree with her, don't agree
- 31:57Speaker 2: with her, call her a racist, cancel her. She was
- 32:00Speaker 2: exited out because of this thing with Faith. Where's her money?
- 32:06Speaker 2: She got a kick to the curb. Now, I'm not
- 32:07Speaker 2: saying justice for Stassi. I'm just saying you can't just
- 32:11Speaker 2: have people go away. In a normal corporation... I was
- 32:15Speaker 2: in HR at Martha Stewart forever.
- 32:17Speaker 1: You get something.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Yeah, you get something. And you just don't sign. It says,
- 32:22Speaker 2: Stassi Schroeder will never sue us for wrongful termination. If
- 32:26Speaker 2: you sign here, two weeks, go fuck yourself. Two years, great.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Let me sign, right? Like they didn't say to Chris Harrison,
- 32:32Speaker 2: here's $ 25 million. They said, oh, you know where everybody
- 32:36Speaker 2: is buried. You don't think I'm the bachelor? You know
- 32:41Speaker 2: the stories I've heard, honey, with plying? people and then
- 32:44Speaker 2: you have a fantasy suite and and there's sex involved
- 32:47Speaker 2: Chris Harrison said I know where everybody is buried everyone
- 32:51Speaker 2: so where do you want to begin and it ended
- 32:53Speaker 2: at 25 million.
- 32:55Speaker 1: And what about the guy who was gay and hiding
- 32:58Speaker 1: it and he was the bachelor Colton Underwood yes exactly
- 33:02Speaker 1: Colton Underwood like that just reminds me of that scenario
- 33:04Speaker 1: this guy was so pressured to for the money and
- 33:08Speaker 1: the fame and the likability that he kept going on
- 33:11Speaker 1: and on with the secret that he was gay, right?
- 33:13Speaker 1: And he just said that he was a virgin and
- 33:15Speaker 1: that he hadn't found the right one. But I mean,
- 33:17Speaker 1: he went to the fantasy suite, didn't he? I mean,
- 33:20Speaker 1: the pressure that took place in his head, I can't
- 33:25Speaker 1: even imagine what that was like for him to not
- 33:28Speaker 1: be able to talk like that.
- 33:29Speaker 2: I am going to no fantasy suite with nobody unless
- 33:32Speaker 2: they're a man. Okay. I don't even know where I
- 33:36Speaker 2: was going with that, but none of the bachelorette contestants
- 33:39Speaker 2: would I go with. No offense. Yeah. I mean, listen,
- 33:43Speaker 2: I understand like you do sign a contract. And so, yeah,
- 33:46Speaker 2: you know, you get, but I'm not arguing that. I mean,
- 33:51Speaker 2: I'm not arguing the first year salary. I'm not arguing anything.
- 33:54Speaker 2: It's just at some point there's certain things, which just
- 33:58Speaker 2: there's bad behavior practices. And I don't know where all
- 34:01Speaker 2: this goes. It's just when the names come out, like
- 34:05Speaker 2: Paige DeSorbo's name is being circulated. She's currently on Summer House.
- 34:09Speaker 2: She's the only name, like if it comes out and
- 34:11Speaker 2: it's a bunch of people, it's apparently housewives heavy that
- 34:14Speaker 2: are ex-housewives and ex-employees. It's like, is this even, where
- 34:19Speaker 2: do we go? The people there all want Bethany to
- 34:22Speaker 2: go forward with this. But like, where do we go
- 34:25Speaker 2: from there? No one's going to speak up and say that.
- 34:29Speaker 1: But then, you know, I'm curious if this lawsuit is
- 34:32Speaker 1: going to be looked at as frivolous because the people
- 34:36Speaker 1: that are going to be clamoring to get on board
- 34:38Speaker 1: are people that were fired and they just want a
- 34:41Speaker 1: job back or some sort of retribution because they were
- 34:44Speaker 1: fired because of their own behavior or because casting didn't
- 34:48Speaker 1: like them. I mean, how do you determine whether or
- 34:50Speaker 1: not you left or you had issues with production?
- 34:54Speaker 3: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 34:57Speaker 3: know about the drawers. The drawer. Just the one square
- 35:02Speaker 3: before bed. Or two, you know. Nobody's watching. You deserve
- 35:09Speaker 3: a treat.
- 35:13Speaker 5: With eight flavours to choose from, you can choose the
- 35:16Speaker 5: flavour you favour with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Because you were in a position where you were being
- 35:27Speaker 1: treated wrong? Or did you really cause your own demise?
- 35:31Speaker 1: I mean, remember, what's the girl's name from Summer House, Hannah?
- 35:36Speaker 2: Her name is on there. Yep.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Yeah. So let's talk about her for a second, because
- 35:39Speaker 1: I remember people were happy when she was kicked off,
- 35:42Speaker 1: but it was her own behavior that caused it, correct?
- 35:46Speaker 2: Yeah, allegedly she got too big for her britches. But
- 35:49Speaker 2: to your point, that is the exact same thing, which
- 35:52Speaker 2: is like, and I said this the other day too,
- 35:54Speaker 2: it's like, you know, you were just basically raped. If
- 35:58Speaker 2: you're a woman and you go to the police and are,
- 36:01Speaker 2: you know, what they will say, you know, the lawyers
- 36:03Speaker 2: will say, this is what you're facing. If you bring
- 36:05Speaker 2: charges now, you should. But every bad, I mean, where
- 36:09Speaker 2: do we go? Every bad fact someone did, yes, Bravo
- 36:12Speaker 2: will hit back with, I mean, it could get ugly. Like, okay,
- 36:16Speaker 2: first on the list, Hannah Burner. Let us tell you
- 36:19Speaker 2: what she did behind, let us reveal the 37,000 emails
- 36:23Speaker 2: that she sent. Next, Kelly Dodd. Okay, here are her
- 36:26Speaker 2: emails where she said this word to us and that word,
- 36:29Speaker 2: I mean- It works both. Your bad facts of your
- 36:33Speaker 2: employment will be brought out publicly. Yes. I mean, does
- 36:36Speaker 2: any do any of these people care? Probably not. But yeah,
- 36:40Speaker 2: it's going to be that's I agree.
- 36:43Speaker 1: It's going to get messy and people are going to
- 36:45Speaker 1: be throwing. you know, sling tosses of shit against each other.
- 36:49Speaker 1: But if it's a class action suit, I wonder how
- 36:52Speaker 1: that works. If it gets individual and they have to
- 36:55Speaker 1: go down the list of why each person was canceled or,
- 37:00Speaker 1: you know, fired or whatever for their own behavior. But,
- 37:04Speaker 1: you know, what are your thoughts on if people are very,
- 37:08Speaker 1: I mean, there was talk about people showing porn and,
- 37:13Speaker 1: you know, being involved in some sort of porn without
- 37:15Speaker 1: their consent. What are your thoughts on that? Because isn't
- 37:19Speaker 1: the whole premise of like Summer House and Winter House
- 37:22Speaker 1: to see them all hook up and be together? So
- 37:26Speaker 1: now they're going to claim that they were forced to
- 37:28Speaker 1: have sex with someone for the show. I mean, what
- 37:30Speaker 1: are your thoughts on that?
- 37:32Speaker 2: And I'm convinced that Danielle Staub is part of this
- 37:35Speaker 2: lawsuit because she smells a dollar and it's from Jersey.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Danielle Staub, back in her day, she made this porn.
- 37:43Speaker 2: I think it was before, but that was going around.
- 37:45Speaker 2: I think they brought it up on the show. I
- 37:46Speaker 2: can't remember, but that was going around. So I just
- 37:48Speaker 2: think that refers to that. But yeah, I mean, look,
- 37:52Speaker 2: it's going to get, you know, and then they also said,
- 37:55Speaker 2: I think another part of it was And this is
- 37:58Speaker 2: what I'd be interested in. I would love to see
- 38:00Speaker 2: these emails and texts where they say they were told
- 38:03Speaker 2: by NBC Bravo producers, you're not happy? Oh, you were mistreated?
- 38:08Speaker 2: If you breathe a word of this, you're done. Because
- 38:12Speaker 2: that is alleged, not in so many words. I'm making
- 38:16Speaker 2: it a little more dramatic. But I would love to
- 38:18Speaker 2: see where an NBC Andy producer say, keep your mouth shut.
- 38:24Speaker 2: I don't care what you saw. That could be... That's big,
- 38:28Speaker 2: I think, if that's real.
- 38:30Speaker 1: But don't you think that people that get involved in
- 38:32Speaker 1: this know that they have to act out to keep
- 38:36Speaker 1: their fame, to keep their job, and to keep their relevancy?
- 38:40Speaker 1: So I, as you know, I was on the short
- 38:45Speaker 1: list to be on Housewives of New York. They called
- 38:47Speaker 1: me out of the blue. I didn't even have an
- 38:50Speaker 1: agent at the time. And they called an agent that
- 38:52Speaker 1: had worked with me years before. He pitched it to
- 38:54Speaker 1: me and said, there's only five people in the short
- 38:57Speaker 1: line in the shortlist, and they have now made you
- 39:00Speaker 1: one of them. They had me do some Zoom calls,
- 39:03Speaker 1: a video, stuff like that. And to be honest with you,
- 39:08Speaker 1: not to toot my own horn, but just in terms
- 39:11Speaker 1: of Housewives of New York, I am more of a
- 39:14Speaker 1: New Yorker than any of the women that they've really
- 39:18Speaker 1: had on the show. I went to private school in
- 39:21Speaker 1: New York. I grew up in New York. I lost
- 39:24Speaker 1: my fiance in September 11th. I owned two businesses, two.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Clothing store businesses in New York and was like a
- 39:33Speaker 1: struggling New Yorker trying to make my life there. Then
- 39:37Speaker 1: I had been in the Tiger Woods scandal and my
- 39:39Speaker 1: name was all over the papers, even though it was
- 39:41Speaker 1: all over the papers for being a New Yorker during
- 39:43Speaker 1: September 11th. Of anyone you're going to get that's going
- 39:46Speaker 1: to give you headlines, I was.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Somebody they should have, it would have been correct to
- 39:53Speaker 1: cast me.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Right.
- 39:54Speaker 1: But I will tell you that. So they cast Leah
- 39:57Speaker 1: instead of me. What was interesting is that with my
- 39:59Speaker 1: personality and with me, like I will, I believe in
- 40:02Speaker 1: the underdog. I will go after anyone. I will stand
- 40:05Speaker 1: my ground, but I'm not going to be mean to
- 40:07Speaker 1: people out of nowhere just to get ratings. I am,
- 40:10Speaker 1: I'm going to stand up for what's right. I'm going
- 40:12Speaker 1: to say what's right, but there is no shot that
- 40:14Speaker 1: someone's going to say to me, all right, We're going
- 40:17Speaker 1: to fabricate an argument, get involved, be the bully. That
- 40:20Speaker 1: would never work with me. I would be like, go
- 40:23Speaker 1: fuck yourself and I will expose you because that's not
- 40:27Speaker 1: how it works. And that's not going to work for me.
- 40:28Speaker 1: So I feel like that's probably why I didn't get picked.
- 40:31Speaker 2: I was just going to say, sweetie, this is why
- 40:33Speaker 2: you didn't get picked. Also, you got me a little
- 40:36Speaker 2: queasy with the Ramona talk. Now you have completely made
- 40:39Speaker 2: me lose my lunch with the mention of Leah McSweeney.
- 40:42Speaker 2: Completely horrible person. Um, and you know, this isn't to
- 40:46Speaker 2: be edited out. She just is horrible. So I would
- 40:49Speaker 2: have gone with you. You know what it is? It's
- 40:52Speaker 2: called reality TV. So whether you're more of a New
- 40:55Speaker 2: Yorker than her, by the way, because you're such a
- 40:57Speaker 2: New Yorker is the reason I fixed you up at
- 40:59Speaker 2: Bo Deedle, two New Yorkers. But we're still looking, guys.
- 41:03Speaker 2: We're still looking for Rachel over here. But we had
- 41:04Speaker 2: a great night.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I just will say I loved Bo Dietl.
- 41:07Speaker 2: I know you did.
- 41:08Speaker 1: We had a great interview on my podcast. We had
- 41:11Speaker 1: a great date at Rao's. I thought he was super
- 41:14Speaker 1: sexy the way he carries himself. The fact that he
- 41:17Speaker 1: took off his jacket and he was packing.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I love a gun.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Like connected to his belt buckle. It was super hot.
- 41:25Speaker 1: The respect he commands from all the people in the room,
- 41:28Speaker 1: wherever he goes. I love that he knows the wise
- 41:31Speaker 1: guys and the police department. I mean, the guy is
- 41:34Speaker 1: just completely connected and he treated me really well. Listen,
- 41:37Speaker 1: I live in Florida now. He lives in New York.
- 41:39Speaker 1: We still keep in touch, but I don't know that
- 41:41Speaker 1: it was a love connection. But if I lived in
- 41:44Speaker 1: New York, I would definitely, you know, he was a
- 41:46Speaker 1: great guy. He was a great guy.
- 41:49Speaker 2: I mean, I love Bo Dietl. To quickly answer a
- 41:52Speaker 2: question before we move on, why don't I like Leah?
- 41:54Speaker 2: And I've talked about this on my show before. I
- 41:56Speaker 2: like authentic people. So if your story is that you
- 42:00Speaker 2: were the poor girl, Leah, growing up and you saw
- 42:03Speaker 2: all the girls with the Chloe bags and the Louis
- 42:07Speaker 2: bags and you wanted to be Tinsley, you wanted that.
- 42:10Speaker 2: And that's a story. That's okay. I mean, you should
- 42:14Speaker 2: be happy with what you have. But if you were
- 42:16Speaker 2: always the one and you felt like, look at all
- 42:18Speaker 2: these girls, they're dressed so nice. And my clothes are
- 42:21Speaker 2: like hand-me-downs and I'm embarrassed and I wish I had money.
- 42:24Speaker 2: I'm okay with that story. When you get on the housewives,
- 42:27Speaker 2: just admit that. Just say that when you act then
- 42:30Speaker 2: that you're downtown and you're the cool downtown street vibe chick,
- 42:35Speaker 2: but you would cut off your arm, have it bleed
- 42:37Speaker 2: from the socket.
- 42:38Speaker 5: Okay.
- 42:38Speaker 2: To be dining at, you know, the Mark Hotel and
- 42:42Speaker 2: Cafe Carlisle every night. And you want that life so bad.
- 42:46Speaker 2: And you're pretending like, oh, I would never want that.
- 42:49Speaker 2: It's called inauthenticity. And then I have no time for you.
- 42:52Speaker 2: And Leah's just that in a nutshell. So that's one
- 42:57Speaker 2: major reason why I'm not a fan. Like identity crisis.
- 43:01Speaker 1: You would have preferred if I had got cast that year.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Well, I would have preferred that you were cast for
- 43:05Speaker 2: a lot of reasons, because I mean, eventually they'd be like,
- 43:08Speaker 2: what's your fucking storyline? And you would say, it's my
- 43:10Speaker 2: gay BFF, David. And then I mean, it all comes
- 43:13Speaker 2: back to me, sweetheart. You know, and you could have
- 43:15Speaker 2: brought Harry on, we could have had a night at
- 43:17Speaker 2: the Regency. So I mean, I have my own ulterior motives.
- 43:20Speaker 2: But yes, I do think. You or, you know, the
- 43:24Speaker 2: person that is basically like has no personality sleeping right
- 43:28Speaker 2: now during the middle of the day would be better
- 43:30Speaker 2: than Leah. But yes, you specifically would have been much better. Correct.
- 43:34Speaker 2: They made a mistake.
- 43:36Speaker 1: All right. So do you think that people from the
- 43:38Speaker 1: original Housewives of New York will be joining this lawsuit?
- 43:42Speaker 2: Yeah, like I think that, look, I mean, and let
- 43:45Speaker 2: me just say, because people are saying, why is, but
- 43:47Speaker 2: you even asked, why is Bethany doing this? I think
- 43:50Speaker 2: that I really do think, look, she wants money, right?
- 43:53Speaker 2: Like she could get money out of this, but I
- 43:55Speaker 2: do think that this, like she really doesn't want to
- 43:59Speaker 2: go back. That really is true. She doesn't need the money.
- 44:02Speaker 2: So if your legacy, I mean, look, Bethany has an ego.
- 44:05Speaker 2: It's all about Bethany. So if your legacy is that
- 44:08Speaker 2: you changed the face of reality TV and the contracts
- 44:13Speaker 2: and the treatment. And that was you.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Oh, I think it's more than that, David. I think
- 44:17Speaker 1: there's something.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:19Speaker 1: I think there's something up her sleeve. She's either going
- 44:21Speaker 1: to be in the works to start her own network
- 44:24Speaker 1: or um, it's bigger than that. There is an end
- 44:28Speaker 1: game for her for sure. And she's going to say
- 44:31Speaker 1: that it was, you know, it's something that was born
- 44:34Speaker 1: out of these thoughts of how to do the right thing,
- 44:36Speaker 1: but I can see, you know, it didn't work for
- 44:38Speaker 1: her to have her talk show. She's dabbled in all
- 44:40Speaker 1: these different businesses and different reality shows. And I think
- 44:44Speaker 1: that her next step is going to be that she's an,
- 44:46Speaker 1: either an agent for reality stars or which could fall
- 44:51Speaker 1: under her umbrella of what she's good at. Or it
- 44:55Speaker 1: could be that she wants to start her own network
- 44:58Speaker 1: called Be Bethany, whatever it is. And then all these
- 45:01Speaker 1: new reality shows will be born from it. That's my prediction.
- 45:05Speaker 2: I think you are 1 trillion, bazillion, quadrillion percent right
- 45:10Speaker 2: when you come to the network part of it. I
- 45:12Speaker 2: think an agent is too hands-on. look, I mean, she
- 45:17Speaker 2: is on YouTube now and she says on YouTube, now
- 45:21Speaker 2: she's not making a ton of money on YouTube because
- 45:22Speaker 2: you don't, but her numbers are going up. But she says,
- 45:25Speaker 2: I own my content. It's true. You saw me in
- 45:29Speaker 2: the Randall scandal. Did you see little clips from my podcast?
- 45:31Speaker 2: Guess what? They couldn't use those clips. That is cha-ching, cha-ching,
- 45:36Speaker 2: and we have to work something out here. So You
- 45:38Speaker 2: do own your content on YouTube. And she says this
- 45:40Speaker 2: over and over, how at least I own my content
- 45:43Speaker 2: on YouTube. I agree with you. As soon as I
- 45:45Speaker 2: heard that, I was like, she doesn't want to go
- 45:47Speaker 2: back because she's past this giving and patrol. I agree.
- 45:50Speaker 2: I think now people have pointed out, I would love
- 45:53Speaker 2: to see the contracts that she issued when she had
- 45:55Speaker 2: her own reality show last year or two years ago
- 45:58Speaker 2: or 2020. I think it was, you know, the big
- 46:00Speaker 2: shot would be on HBO. I bet you those contracts
- 46:02Speaker 2: were very one-sided towards Bethany and Mark Burnett. But, but. Because,
- 46:08Speaker 2: I mean, really, but.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Oh, wait, that's a good point. I want to hear
- 46:12Speaker 1: from those people who are on her show and see
- 46:15Speaker 1: how she treated them as being the person in power.
- 46:19Speaker 2: I know one of them.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Oh, so we need to hear from that person.
- 46:23Speaker 3: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 46:26Speaker 3: know about the drawer. The drawer.
- 46:30Speaker 4: Just the one square before bed. Or two, you know.
- 46:36Speaker 4: Nobody's watching.
- 46:38Speaker 6: You deserve a treat.
- 46:42Speaker 5: With eight flavors to choose from, you can choose the
- 46:45Speaker 5: flavor you favor with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 46:53Speaker 1: What those contracts look like and if she's just full.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Of shit now. Right. I bet you that contract was
- 46:59Speaker 2: so pro-Bethany and producer and money, but... So it's like,
- 47:04Speaker 2: you're kind of screwing yourself, but not really. But I
- 47:06Speaker 2: agree with you. I think with Bethany, there's always a
- 47:08Speaker 2: master plan. I could see her starting her own network.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Now you're going to have to give all these things, Bethany,
- 47:14Speaker 2: because I mean, she'll have to, but I still think
- 47:16Speaker 2: if she can make, you know, a hundred million dollars
- 47:19Speaker 2: for having your own network versus, you know, 190, so
- 47:22Speaker 2: be it or whatever the number is, right. She really
- 47:26Speaker 2: wants the Bethany clause stricken. So like her contracts will
- 47:28Speaker 2: have to adhere to this in residuals, but I think it's,
- 47:32Speaker 2: peanuts compared to having your own network. And I do
- 47:35Speaker 2: agree with you that I think if there's, listen, it's
- 47:38Speaker 2: just like anything else. If there were one airline out
- 47:41Speaker 2: there that said we undercut and we're still the same quality,
- 47:46Speaker 2: we would all take that airline, right?
- 47:48Speaker 1: Yeah, totally. But listen to this. She could be having
- 47:53Speaker 1: talks right now with the people in the writer's strike
- 47:56Speaker 1: and the actors, is it an actor's strike too?
- 47:58Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, actors and writers.
- 47:59Speaker 1: So this whole strike, she could be talking to them
- 48:02Speaker 1: and saying, why don't you come over and write a
- 48:05Speaker 1: reality script for me or get involved in reality right
- 48:08Speaker 1: now because you're on a strike. Let's build this up
- 48:10Speaker 1: really quick before you get your job back. I mean,
- 48:13Speaker 1: one of my best friends is living in LA and
- 48:15Speaker 1: she's a writer, a screenwriter, and she is nervous about
- 48:18Speaker 1: her job. So she's actually going to come to Florida
- 48:22Speaker 1: for a few months and live with me until she
- 48:24Speaker 1: figures it out. Now, if she was offered a job
- 48:28Speaker 1: in reality TV, she could take it and that this
- 48:31Speaker 1: would work for her. So, right.
- 48:32Speaker 2: And they would have to call. I mean, yes, except
- 48:34Speaker 2: SAG has a lot of strange rules of its own,
- 48:37Speaker 2: but yes, to your point. Yeah, sure.
- 48:40Speaker 1: There's a whole nother opportunity for these people. If she
- 48:42Speaker 1: starts a network and then gives them jobs.
- 48:45Speaker 2: I agree. And like the people she's meeting through this,
- 48:47Speaker 2: I mean, listen, I mean, she could have her own
- 48:49Speaker 2: version of housewives. Like I agree that it's bigger and I, I, yeah,
- 48:55Speaker 2: maybe you're right. Maybe it's not just about her legacy,
- 48:57Speaker 2: but I can tell you like Garagos and Friedman, it's
- 49:00Speaker 2: not about their legacy. I mean, it is, but there's,
- 49:03Speaker 2: there's money. So that's where it's like, if they don't,
- 49:05Speaker 2: if they didn't smell something here, Garagos would say, fuck off, Bethany.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Like there's gotta be something.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Garagos, I don't know if people are connecting the dots here.
- 49:15Speaker 1: garrigos is a huge lawyer but he's a criminal defense
- 49:20Speaker 1: lawyer um which is an interesting way to go. I mean,
- 49:23Speaker 1: he's right now representing the Menendez brothers to get them
- 49:27Speaker 1: out and get them a new fair trial, which is
- 49:29Speaker 1: a big deal. And he's also been the main guy
- 49:33Speaker 1: who was representing Scott Peterson, the guy who killed his
- 49:36Speaker 1: pregnant wife. He killed Lacey Peterson and the baby. I
- 49:40Speaker 1: think the baby's name was Connor, unborn baby. And he's
- 49:44Speaker 1: on death row right now.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Was he Michael Jackson also or am I making that up?
- 49:48Speaker 1: Yeah, he did represent Michael Jackson. That was obviously a
- 49:51Speaker 1: long time ago and I don't remember the details of that.
- 49:53Speaker 1: And he represented Gabrielle Union, I think, against The Voice. Yes, right.
- 49:59Speaker 1: So he does do things that are not criminal, but
- 50:02Speaker 1: he's most known for being a criminal attorney. And I
- 50:04Speaker 1: have my own history with him. I, you know, when
- 50:08Speaker 1: I when my name was all over the papers and
- 50:11Speaker 1: the news on Thanksgiving of 2009, I knew who he
- 50:16Speaker 1: was because I was a Nancy Grace fan. someone we
- 50:19Speaker 1: both love and adore.
- 50:20Speaker 2: She was just on behind the velvet rope.
- 50:24Speaker 1: And so I didn't know what lawyer to call. I
- 50:26Speaker 1: knew I needed a lawyer immediately because the paparazzi were
- 50:31Speaker 1: outside of my house in droves. It was at least
- 50:34Speaker 1: 50 of them and I did not know what to do.
- 50:37Speaker 1: So all I could think of was to call the
- 50:38Speaker 1: lawyers that I had seen on Nancy Grace. And the
- 50:41Speaker 1: two lawyers were Gloria Allred and And I Googled his number.
- 50:47Speaker 1: I called his office and he called me back the
- 50:50Speaker 1: next morning. And the only reason I didn't hire him
- 50:53Speaker 1: is because Gloria's team called me at about two in
- 50:56Speaker 1: the morning. So I got their call first. But he's
- 50:59Speaker 1: a great guy. You know, I've spoken to him on
- 51:00Speaker 1: the phone. I think he's great. He's smart. I would
- 51:02Speaker 1: love to have him on my show. But I'm I
- 51:05Speaker 1: really want to talk to him about the Menendez, the
- 51:07Speaker 1: Menendez brothers and whether I mean, obviously, he thinks they
- 51:11Speaker 1: have a chance of getting a new trial. But, you know,
- 51:14Speaker 1: it's very interesting to see how people are getting on
- 51:18Speaker 1: board because they think that they've been in jail long
- 51:20Speaker 1: enough for something that was induced by two kids who
- 51:24Speaker 1: were abused, sexually abused for so long and what that.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Can do to you. The Menendez case is one that
- 51:30Speaker 2: I'm just, I'm really obsessed with it. I mean, I
- 51:33Speaker 2: watched all the movies. Like, I mean, I lived through it.
- 51:35Speaker 2: I'm not, you know, a spring chicken over here. So
- 51:38Speaker 2: I remember it.
- 51:39Speaker 1: Do you think they should, do you think they should
- 51:41Speaker 1: get out by now?
- 51:42Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm like kind of, yeah, I believe you do
- 51:46Speaker 2: the crime, you do the time, you know, you do
- 51:47Speaker 2: the crime, you do the time and then you move on.
- 51:49Speaker 2: And I know they're still doing the time, but. Yeah. I'm,
- 51:52Speaker 2: you know, listen, people hate me 24 seven for a
- 51:54Speaker 2: lot of things I say. So yeah, I say, let
- 51:57Speaker 2: them out. I mean, how long has it been now?
- 51:58Speaker 2: 30 years, 40 years. I mean, I know they brutally
- 52:01Speaker 2: killed their parents, but that's kind of where my, my,
- 52:03Speaker 2: my gut says, I say, let them out.
- 52:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Okay.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Well, we'll see what happens. We'll cover that in a
- 52:07Speaker 1: whole nother episode.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Cause we'll have the haters and it's fine. I
- 52:11Speaker 2: have a lot of haters. Um, you know, listen, you
- 52:13Speaker 2: don't have haters.
- 52:14Speaker 1: You haven't made it David.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Exactly. I say that all the time. But so people,
- 52:19Speaker 2: when they say like, I think, cause I, listen, I'm
- 52:22Speaker 2: not going to mention names, but I tell people I
- 52:24Speaker 2: get the calls. I get calls from housewives all day now,
- 52:27Speaker 2: but not because of this just in general, but everyone,
- 52:29Speaker 2: every house, like she burned her bridge. She I'm like,
- 52:32Speaker 2: we're past that. Like Bethany is not like, she's not you,
- 52:36Speaker 2: you have to step outside yourself. So like she understands
- 52:39Speaker 2: that she burned her bridge. She's not going.
- 52:41Speaker 1: Back prepared for that.
- 52:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:43Speaker 1: And she's like, what bridge? She thinks she's bigger than Bravo.
- 52:47Speaker 1: So she doesn't need that bridge. I'm pretty convinced that
- 52:50Speaker 1: she doesn't give a shit. What's interesting to me to
- 52:52Speaker 1: see is if she's going to go after Andy.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Well, he is, I mean, I have that on my
- 52:57Speaker 2: list here. His name is in there. So here's the thing, having,
- 53:02Speaker 2: you know, being a lawyer myself, having run corporate America, HR,
- 53:06Speaker 2: a lot of places, including Martha Stewart, no ego, just
- 53:09Speaker 2: a like, look, I have so, I have zero emotions
- 53:13Speaker 2: in business. And it's like the way things work is just,
- 53:17Speaker 2: there's no justice. So when something like this happens, if
- 53:21Speaker 2: we're going to make it go away and we're going
- 53:23Speaker 2: to change whatever, somebody usually loses their job or two, right?
- 53:28Speaker 2: We have a changing of the guards. Like when it's
- 53:30Speaker 2: this big, like if this really is this big, which
- 53:33Speaker 2: Bethany seems to say it isn't so to these lawyers,
- 53:35Speaker 2: like I just wonder how deep this is going to
- 53:38Speaker 2: go and how, I mean, look, I mean, maybe I'm
- 53:41Speaker 2: being dramatic, but removing Andy would be the most visible,
- 53:46Speaker 2: like sign to the outward public, not saying he's responsible,
- 53:49Speaker 2: not saying he did anything wrong. There's people in corporate.
- 53:52Speaker 2: I'm just saying like, I don't know. Somebody is going
- 53:55Speaker 2: to lose their job because of this if this doesn't
- 53:58Speaker 2: go away. Period.
- 53:59Speaker 1: I'm positive. David, remember what happened with CNN? They brought
- 54:02Speaker 1: in a new guy, gave him a year to fix
- 54:04Speaker 1: it up. Then there was all sorts of problems. Don
- 54:06Speaker 1: Lemon got fired. And then the new... guy running CNN
- 54:11Speaker 1: was ousted again. So it would make sense that the
- 54:14Speaker 1: guy running the company, meaning Bravo, would be ousted if
- 54:18Speaker 1: there's so much unhappiness and people are having such a problem.
- 54:22Speaker 1: My question for you is, what are the chances that
- 54:25Speaker 1: Andy Cohen will really be removed and canceled?
- 54:30Speaker 2: I don't know. Listen, I mean... stranger things have happened.
- 54:36Speaker 2: I said this the other day to someone and they
- 54:38Speaker 2: told me like, I went from zero to a hundred,
- 54:40Speaker 2: but seeing things like this play out, that's what happens.
- 54:45Speaker 2: You go, you don't just remove some quiet person. You
- 54:49Speaker 2: remove somebody. I mean, he's not like running the network,
- 54:52Speaker 2: but he's running housewives. And I don't know. It's, It's
- 54:56Speaker 2: especially when we get into like, you mean to tell
- 54:58Speaker 2: me that in all that, and I'm not even saying
- 55:01Speaker 2: he's done the most egregious stuff. I'm just saying to
- 55:04Speaker 2: the people listening to this, to the average person that's
- 55:07Speaker 2: on the Instagram, that's the person that's going to get
- 55:10Speaker 2: everybody talking around the world. Right? So you mean to
- 55:14Speaker 2: tell me there's no texts or emails or anything ever
- 55:20Speaker 2: between a castmate, a guest on the show. I mean, absolutely. No,
- 55:25Speaker 2: like I think it's, I do think it is possible.
- 55:30Speaker 2: I really do. I truly in my heart of hearts do.
- 55:33Speaker 2: If this doesn't go away.
- 55:35Speaker 1: What do you think is the future of reality TV
- 55:38Speaker 1: at this point? I mean, could you have TV shows
- 55:41Speaker 1: that aren't based on so much drama and this toxic
- 55:46Speaker 1: fusion between cast mates? I mean, if that is all
- 55:49Speaker 1: taken out, where's reality TV going to go?
- 55:52Speaker 2: Well, if you look at it, we've had that. We
- 55:55Speaker 2: have it now. So like right now, Selling Sunset, which
- 55:59Speaker 2: is a huge hit for Netflix, we have real estate porn.
- 56:02Speaker 2: We have a lot of drama. I mean, this past season,
- 56:04Speaker 2: my girl, Chrishell, accused Nicole of being, she said, you know,
- 56:08Speaker 2: you're all cracked down on drugs. And Nicole said, are
- 56:10Speaker 2: you accusing me of being on crack? No, not really.
- 56:13Speaker 2: That was a whole thing. So that's drama. There's no pushing.
- 56:17Speaker 2: There's no shoving. There's no I think we had the Osbournes.
- 56:21Speaker 2: We have the Kardashians. I mean, the Osbournes. So we've had,
- 56:24Speaker 2: we had the Hills. We had Jersey Shore. I mean,
- 56:28Speaker 2: although granted Snooki and JWoww have joined the suit. I mean,
- 56:31Speaker 2: I think their names are being thrown around. So I
- 56:33Speaker 2: don't know what's going on, you know, behind closed doors,
- 56:36Speaker 2: but I think outwardly you can make reality TV without
- 56:39Speaker 2: tons of conflict. Hmm. Okay. Right.
- 56:43Speaker 1: I mean, I remember hearing Spencer Pratt talking about how
- 56:46Speaker 1: there was all sorts of conflict way back when, and
- 56:48Speaker 1: now they have the Hills reboot and he can't kind
- 56:51Speaker 1: of get on board with the other actors because none
- 56:53Speaker 1: of them, they're all older now.
- 56:55Speaker 2: Right.
- 56:55Speaker 1: But none of them are willing to do stupid shit
- 56:57Speaker 1: for TV anymore.
- 56:59Speaker 2: So that was canceled, but that's exactly correct. I had
- 57:02Speaker 2: Audrina on my, my show from the Hills and she said, yeah, no,
- 57:06Speaker 2: it's all true. Spencer, like Spencer got there and it
- 57:09Speaker 2: was like, guys, we're going to be canceled. Right. This
- 57:12Speaker 2: is boring. And Spencer's great at the reality. And he's
- 57:16Speaker 2: definitely part of this. He's definitely involved with Bethany. But yeah,
- 57:19Speaker 2: that exact thing. He said, like, this isn't how you
- 57:22Speaker 2: make a reality show. And they did get canceled. Audrina said,
- 57:25Speaker 2: I just wouldn't go there. I just wouldn't do this.
- 57:27Speaker 2: I mean, this were moms. So, I mean, to your point,
- 57:30Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. Like, can they do it?
- 57:34Speaker 2: I personally love The Hill's New Beginnings, but I guess
- 57:37Speaker 2: I'm in the minority because it's long gone.
- 57:40Speaker 1: But that's an interesting point you brought up. Somebody could
- 57:42Speaker 1: be part of the lawsuit that wasn't directly affected. Like Spencer,
- 57:46Speaker 1: I don't know that anything abusive happened to him, but
- 57:49Speaker 1: he's witnessed the fact that you cannot continue a show
- 57:52Speaker 1: and it will get canceled unless you do something stupid
- 57:55Speaker 1: or almost illegal, sexual, humiliating, whatever it is, to make ratings.
- 58:03Speaker 1: And if you don't participate in something like that, either
- 58:06Speaker 1: you will get booted off the show or the show
- 58:08Speaker 1: will get canceled. So I could see him joining just
- 58:11Speaker 1: for the pure fact that he's a witness to what
- 58:13Speaker 1: goes on, but not because he doesn't like being a
- 58:16Speaker 1: part of that you know, the movement because he, he definitely,
- 58:21Speaker 1: he's a guy who is hoping for a new reality
- 58:24Speaker 1: gig all the time. I mean, I just heard him
- 58:26Speaker 1: on Heather McDonald talking about how, you know, he wants,
- 58:29Speaker 1: he'll take any gig that'll come up for a hundred
- 58:31Speaker 1: thousand dollars or whatever it is. Cause that's the way,
- 58:34Speaker 1: you know, he's a reality TV star. They're looking for
- 58:36Speaker 1: their next reality TV jump, you know? Which makes sense.
- 58:40Speaker 1: And if you could play the game and keep your
- 58:45Speaker 1: sense of integrity while doing it, there doesn't seem to
- 58:49Speaker 1: be a problem.
- 58:51Speaker 2: It's just like people lose sight. And I think it
- 58:54Speaker 2: happens with housewives more than any other. Yeah. Like that is.
- 58:58Speaker 1: What they do. They promote you to be an animal.
- 59:01Speaker 1: I mean, even on this new season of the Housewives
- 59:03Speaker 1: of New York, I haven't watched it. I will admit.
- 59:05Speaker 1: But I have seen clips. I know you have watched it.
- 59:07Speaker 1: but just in the clips or the, um, or the
- 59:12Speaker 1: commercials for the show, it's the same kind of fighting.
- 59:17Speaker 1: It's the, it is a reboot of what they were
- 59:20Speaker 1: trying to do on all the other shows. It's just a.
- 59:23Speaker 2: Very light, very light. They've lightened it up, but yes,
- 59:26Speaker 2: it's the.
- 59:26Speaker 1: Same fighting over cheese. I mean, I saw that on
- 59:29Speaker 1: the latest, commercial, it's like, why would I watch that?
- 59:32Speaker 1: That is so dumb. These girls who think they're better
- 59:35Speaker 1: than everyone else are throwing food and yelling at each
- 59:38Speaker 1: other and ripping off each other's sunglasses and saying, you
- 59:42Speaker 1: talked to me and look at me in the eye.
- 59:43Speaker 1: And they're arguing about cheese. That is so dumb. It
- 59:46Speaker 1: really is. I don't understand that storyline.
- 59:48Speaker 2: And now they're going to internalize it. And as the
- 59:50Speaker 2: season goes on, and this one says this on Twitter,
- 59:52Speaker 2: and that one says this, they're going to get so
- 59:55Speaker 2: angst in their hearts and it's going to get so toxic.
- 59:59Speaker 2: Whereas a Spencer Pratt would say, I'm here. The clock started.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: Even NeNe Leakes with her recent, she just did some
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: interviews with my good friend, Carlos King. She said, tell
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: me what time to show up. Has the check cleared?
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: I'll do the job and I'll go home. Spencer is
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: the same way. I mean, that's how I would be.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: If I got a reality show, I don't care. People
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: say things now. I don't care what you say about me.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Let me clock in. Let me do the job. Spencer
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: gets it. He's, he would be horrible to people. He
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: would be the villain and it would be time. And
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: he'd be like, look, dude, I don't care. Let's go
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: have a drink. That's how you do it. He played the.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Villain and he was paid for it and he was
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: okay with it, but that's not the majority, it's not
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: a housewife's girl, but he also wasn't like humiliating people.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: He was getting, he was the one getting humiliated, but
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: he liked the check to be cleared. And I respect
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: him for that, frankly. But last thing I just want
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: to point out, you know, I was on celebrity rehab. Um,
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: I had a cast that was filled with very interesting people. Um,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: and Dickinson, my, yeah, my roommate was Janice Dickinson and
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: you know, The thing about me is I was not
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: an actress going into it. I was not a celebrity
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: like they were. I was a household name. I was infamous.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I got paid more than anyone else has ever been
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: paid to do that show, to do any reality show,
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: I think. And it was very interesting to me because
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: my time on that show, I will tell you, was real.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: There was nothing. I was not worried about how they
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: edited me because I was like, I'm being exactly who
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: I want to be. And if you have a problem
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: with that, you're going to have a really hard time
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: figuring out a way to edit me to be some
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: villain that I'm not. I left the show for one
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: night because I got so angry about what was happening
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: with the way that Janice was behaving. And I called Dr.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Drew out on it. And there was a clip that
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: I have of it, which I should play at some point.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: where I said, listen, I'm trying to work here. I'm
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: trying to get some real mental clarity for myself because
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: I'm struggling, but it's distracting that you're letting people like
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Janice do stuff for TV, for ratings when I'm here
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: to get help. And that's really, I can't believe that
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: you're enabling that. And we got, Dr. Drew and I
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: got into it and I ended up leaving because I
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: thought it was so toxic and wrong. I came back
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: and I had it out with Janice and all of
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: that was real because I was angry and she accused
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: me of all these things, but she was doing it
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: for TV, not because she wanted to get better, not
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: because she was working on herself. And I'll tell you something,
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: I loved being on that show. Not only did it
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: help me, I made some great friendships. I learned a
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: lot about myself and it helped me deal with what
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: I went in there thinking was a joke, which was
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: love addiction. But how I choose men and choose love
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: in my life, it really gave me tools that I
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: needed to use. So I'm thankful for being on that show.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: But my point to that is you represent yourself how
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: you want to be represented and see where that gets you.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: And usually you'll feel good about it and they will
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: have a very hard time saying that you are someone
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: that you're not.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: I agree. I agree. I feel like if you did it,
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: just move on. And I mean, these people that call
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: and ask for edits and, you know, and then they
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: eventually lose their jobs. Again, I find in my experience,
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: having interviewed a gazillion reality TV stars, like I really
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: can do, I've done the market research, my most difficult
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: guests before and after are housewives, period. That's a real fact.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Then you have actual actors, Jersey Shore. Jersey Shore is
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: bigger than Housewives will ever be. They're paid. They come on.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: They're just like, great, great. Oh my God, I'm texting.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: I can't stand you.
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: Hi, David.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: It's me, Snooki. I'm like, great. This is like how
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: I would be too. It's like, it's a job. It's
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: press for your show. It's something about Housewives and maybe
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: Bravo in general, but it's internalized. And then we could
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: end on this note, but like Where are the other letters?
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: That's what I don't understand. Where's the letter to ABC
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: about The Bachelor? Where's the letter to RuPaul's Drag Race
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: for VH1? Where's the letter to Netflix? Christine Quinn alleged
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: all these things against Adam DeBello from Selling Sunset. Where
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: are these letters? Why is there only an NBC and Bravo?
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: It makes you think it's the most egregious thing out
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: of all of them.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: And it'll be interesting to see if more letters do
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: come out. I want to ask you, if you were
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: going to pitch a new type of reality show, what
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: would it be then?
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: Ooh, a new type of show. I mean, I know
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: the show that I would like to pitch because I
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: can be in it, but a new show, oh, it
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: is so hard.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: I mean- While you think of that, I'll tell you mine.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: I think it should be something about- second acts or
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: starting over because I think that so many people are
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: interested in what that's like to have a comeback story.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: So it could be a group of people just like,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: you know, how they do with most of these shows,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: like a housewife type of thing. But it's almost like,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: So you're trying to find your second act. Either you're
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: trying to find love after a certain age and you're
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: divorced and you have kids. You're moving into a new
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: city and you're starting a new job and you have
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: to make all new friends. And you're a single mom
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: and you have to put your kid in school with
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: all new people and get to know everyone and see
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: how that goes. And you're dating and trying to find love.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: a husband or a new life or whatever it is,
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: I think that this show about second acts, you know,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: would be great. That's because that's what I'm going through.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: I've just moved to Florida. Everything is new for me. Yes,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: I have a certain amount of friends here, but it
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: is all new and it's going to be interesting to
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: see how my life unfolds. And if I had a
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: camera following me for the last four months of just
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: being here in general, where the year kind of hasn't
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: started yet, the school year and me getting out of
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: my house and It'll be interesting to see how my
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: relationships develop, what happens with all new things, my job,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: hosting a podcast. All these things that are panning out are,
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: to me, really interesting.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: So that's what I think.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: I mean, you know, listen, I could poke holes in
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: any reality pitch. So I don't want to. I wish
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: this pitch goes somewhere and I'm being serious. Like, let's
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: get it out there. I'll produce it for you. I
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: see some holes, minor, but nothing major. What are the holes? Well,
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: what is it? A docu-series? Is it you in Florida?
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Is it someone else in New York? Is it someone
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: else in California? Is it a group? Those don't usually work.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: It usually needs to be a group of people.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: It's going to be a group. It could be a
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: group of people that have moved from New York, New York,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: and California, and Texas, because they're all moving to Palm Beach.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: How.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: they start over here. And I think it'll be, I
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: think it'd be interesting because it would be uplifting or
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: it'd be like a version of sex in the city
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: where you've got your, your new group of friends and
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: you're trying to build each other up as they're all
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: going through their lives. I think that's a better version
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: of a story. Fine.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: Well, guess what? When you sell that, I will actually
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: take residence in your house and I will be part
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: of it. And I'll be one of the people that's
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: trying to start over. I've got a lot going on
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: and I need to start over in life. So make
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: clear out a wing for me and count me in
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: for your pitch. Listen, we got to keep doing this
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: about the strike because it's going to keep changing. As
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: we end, Bethany recently did her new TikTok and she's like,
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: for anyone that says this and that, and she said, yes,
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: I fed the machine and here we are. And like,
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: if you think that this is going away or whatever,
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: buckle up. So she's basically said, this is real. Who knows?
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Tongue in cheek, she said, watch what happens.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: Little, I mean, come on. That's a little backing. She said,
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: if you take a shot at this bee, she's referencing
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: her tagline. But she said, watch what happens. Yes, she's
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: she's coming for Andy, girl. She is.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Yeah, they're not backing down. So it'll be interesting to
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: have you back on to talk about who you've had on,
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: because I know you talk to a lot of reality
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: stars to get their opinion, to see if they're part
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: of this lawsuit and see where it goes. It'll be
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: interesting to see how it ends up.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: I can't wait. Oh, my God. What a crossover. I
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: cannot wait to talk to you soon, Rachel. You could tell.
