- 0:00Speaker 1: And now move the sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
- 0:07Speaker 1: What's up, everybody, Welcome to move the stick DJ Bucky
- 0:09Speaker 1: rat back with you. On a Monday, following a crazy
- 0:12Speaker 1: week of action, we had well, let's be honest, we
- 0:15Speaker 1: had the highly the weekend app State beating James Madison.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Neither here nor there.
- 0:18Speaker 2: We'll do NFL stuff.
- 0:19Speaker 1: We won't, we won't. We won't spend a lot of
- 0:22Speaker 1: tuck on that. It was an enjoyable flight, by the way,
- 0:25Speaker 1: real quick on that one. I'm on the flight, the
- 0:28Speaker 1: Charters flight to Wisconsin. The Wi FI was not great.
- 0:32Speaker 1: So my son is actually texting me play by play
- 0:36Speaker 1: and it gets to the point where it's James Madison
- 0:39Speaker 1: has a third or no fourth and eighteen from at
- 0:43Speaker 1: like the APP thirty eight at the end of the
- 0:45Speaker 1: regular maybe a minute and change left APP States up
- 0:48Speaker 1: by eight. And then I just I see the bubbles,
- 0:51Speaker 1: and I'm telling you, there's there. There's an anticipation when
- 0:55Speaker 1: there's you're waiting on some big news and you see bubbles.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I imagine it's like, oh yeah, maybe liked the younger
- 1:00Speaker 1: generation now that has this iPhone era, Maybe that's like
- 1:03Speaker 1: my pregnant, like is it a boy or a girl?
- 1:05Speaker 1: Bubbles like anticipation, there's some anticipation there, but the uh
- 1:12Speaker 1: but he says first down and my thought was who, like,
- 1:16Speaker 1: did they get us stop and get or did they
- 1:18Speaker 1: get And he said, now they converted it and then
- 1:20Speaker 1: what are The next text was touchdown. The next text
- 1:22Speaker 1: was they got the two point of version. I was like,
- 1:24Speaker 1: this is painful, but then ended up wing overtime, so
- 1:27Speaker 1: it ended up being a happy day. But I was
- 1:29Speaker 1: just saying, the anxiety of the bubbles, that's a real
- 1:31Speaker 1: that's real there, bubbles. Agatch buck. How was your weekend, man.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Well, the weekend was great when the Jaguars won.
- 1:39Speaker 3: It was crummy because Carolina lost to Clemson again down
- 1:42Speaker 3: in Devin Valley. The basketball team looks good though, so
- 1:45Speaker 3: I'm excited about basketball season.
- 1:46Speaker 2: I'm excited about basketball season.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Yeah, you know there eventually and it's yeah, he's the
- 1:55Speaker 1: end of the year.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Yeah, we're just gonna you know, I need a minute,
- 1:59Speaker 4: this team a minute.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Let's all figure it out, all right, you guys want
- 2:04Speaker 1: to jump into these games, let's get in. I'll start
- 2:06Speaker 1: us off. Yeah, I'm up first, I'm betting lead off
- 2:09Speaker 1: today Chargers. Hey, guys, surprise, it came down to the
- 2:12Speaker 1: very end of a Charger game. It's like, I've never
- 2:14Speaker 1: seen this before. They lost their fifth game by three
- 2:18Speaker 1: or fewer points on the season.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Is that crazy? Buck?
- 2:22Speaker 1: It's every week every week. It's like it's kind of
- 2:26Speaker 1: exhausting to call the games. I can't imagine from a
- 2:29Speaker 1: player standpoint, but I mean, you guys have know you
- 2:31Speaker 1: guys have been around teams, you played on teams forever, Like,
- 2:34Speaker 1: how often is it that you go a whole season.
- 2:36Speaker 1: It's like you don't get that. Hey, let's get the
- 2:38Speaker 1: backups in there. Let's rest a little bit, Let's take
- 2:40Speaker 1: a little break. Hey, hey, we're getting blown out in
- 2:42Speaker 1: this one. Let's back off. You know, let's save our guys. No,
- 2:45Speaker 1: every week is a nail bike all in. It's crazy.
- 2:50Speaker 1: On the positive side of things, I'll start the positive
- 2:52Speaker 1: side of things for both teams. Both these quarterbacks, same
- 2:55Speaker 1: draft class. We talked to them both down at the
- 2:58Speaker 1: Senior Bowl. Remember back in that draft of twenty twenty
- 3:00Speaker 1: draft was it twenty twenty? Is that right? Or no?
- 3:03Speaker 2: It was?
- 3:04Speaker 5: Uh, yeah, it was toy twenty.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Yeah, twenty twenty Borow draft. Yeah, so that was uh,
- 3:08Speaker 1: it was good to see those guys. Both played really well.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I thought Herbert actually played the best game of the year.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Something we've talked about exhausting the down, using your legs,
- 3:15Speaker 1: making things happen.
- 3:17Speaker 2: He did it.
- 3:17Speaker 1: He had he had over seventy yards rush and it
- 3:19Speaker 1: was eight carries, but one of them was was a
- 3:21Speaker 1: bad snap and one was a neil. So he was
- 3:23Speaker 1: getting over ten yards of pop when he took off
- 3:26Speaker 1: with the ball and he only got hit twice. So
- 3:29Speaker 1: it's kind of like a you know, you get all
- 3:30Speaker 1: the boom without any of the busts, like you get
- 3:32Speaker 1: all the yardage and the big plays and he's not
- 3:34Speaker 1: taking any hits. It was kind of mahomes esque from
- 3:37Speaker 1: that standpoint, and he was he was he was killed
- 3:39Speaker 1: by drops. The sun was in Keenan Allen's eyes on. Yeah,
- 3:44Speaker 1: it was bad.
- 3:45Speaker 5: Two drops, man.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I don't know if you could see it. I don't know.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I don't know what it looks like on TV. So
- 3:50Speaker 1: because I don't hear the t I don't I don't
- 3:52Speaker 1: hear the TV cop, I don't know what they're saying.
- 3:54Speaker 1: But I mean, where you can see, is it was
- 3:56Speaker 1: lit up like a Christmas tree in that end zone,
- 3:59Speaker 1: and you could see him turn round and as soon
- 4:00Speaker 1: as and I got my binoculars on him, he doesn't
- 4:03Speaker 1: get his hands up, so it just the touch. Yeah,
- 4:06Speaker 1: it almost, And it went bounced off in like four
- 4:08Speaker 1: yards and you see him immediately he immediately points up
- 4:11Speaker 1: like and I'm like, oh, he can't he couldn't see.
- 4:13Speaker 5: It well when the ball came from the shade.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Yeah, Herbert threw it from the last little bit of
- 4:18Speaker 4: shade right into the you know, the surface of the sun.
- 4:20Speaker 5: And yeah, I mean, I get it.
- 4:22Speaker 1: That's tough. I mean I didn't know, so I don't
- 4:24Speaker 1: know what the narratives are on these Like I don't
- 4:25Speaker 1: know what's being said on the broadcast. I don't know, like, oh,
- 4:27Speaker 1: they're crushing Keynum. It was tough, and now Parum had
- 4:30Speaker 1: one earlier in the game the same it was. The
- 4:32Speaker 1: sun could have been involved in that, I don't know,
- 4:33Speaker 1: but that was a big drop. And then obviously Quentin
- 4:36Speaker 1: Johnston on a home run ball that would have been potentially,
- 4:39Speaker 1: you know, kind of a walk off game winner, over
- 4:42Speaker 1: the shoulder, he drops it. He's not comfortable confident with
- 4:45Speaker 1: his hands. It was the issue with him coming out.
- 4:47Speaker 1: It's what we all said, it's what we talked about,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and it's followed him to the NFL. And it's also
- 4:53Speaker 1: it's going back into that big twelve wide receiver conversation
- 4:57Speaker 1: of that long laundry list of guys who have not
- 4:59Speaker 1: hit out of that conference. You've got Ceedee Lamb who's
- 5:02Speaker 1: been awesome, and then you also have Hollywood Brown's been
- 5:05Speaker 1: really good, and then Lockett who's been really good. You
- 5:08Speaker 1: got those three guys, but the other of like the
- 5:11Speaker 1: last twenty guys, the other like seventeen of them have
- 5:13Speaker 1: not hit, and they've had a profile of hightweight speed
- 5:17Speaker 1: buck they're they're a little bit tight, they don't have
- 5:19Speaker 1: natural hands, and they're not full route tree guys. It's
- 5:21Speaker 1: a different sport in the big twelve man and these
- 5:24Speaker 1: guys struggle to get off press, they struggle to get
- 5:26Speaker 1: out of breaks, and they struggle to catch the ball.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I mean a lot of negatives right there.
- 5:29Speaker 3: That are we talking about breaks, route running and all that.
- 5:34Speaker 3: And you're right, because that that league is so wide open,
- 5:37Speaker 3: it's really hard to evaluate the receivers. And then when
- 5:39Speaker 3: you look at the NFL success or lack thereof, it's
- 5:42Speaker 3: going to continue to make it hard to go all
- 5:44Speaker 3: in on.
- 5:44Speaker 2: The big twelve receiver.
- 5:46Speaker 3: The thing that I would say about looking at at
- 5:49Speaker 3: this game and watching like the Packers and the Chargers
- 5:52Speaker 3: and the receivers, like, man, there's so many playmakers for
- 5:56Speaker 3: the Charges, Like you look at this team and all
- 5:58Speaker 3: the things that you look at paper would tell you
- 6:01Speaker 3: that this team should be a good team, and then
- 6:03Speaker 3: you watch them put the ball in the hands of
- 6:05Speaker 3: their playmakers, and for some reason, I don't know why,
- 6:08Speaker 3: they just have this spell on them where bad things happen,
- 6:11Speaker 3: fumbles in the red zone, the five yard line, I mean,
- 6:16Speaker 3: just just.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Like little things where.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Look, they're just snake bit And I just wonder because, like, look,
- 6:22Speaker 3: I understand like the outside noise and Brandon Staley being
- 6:25Speaker 3: uptight about all the conversation around his job, but this
- 6:30Speaker 3: team just plays so tight because they've been in so
- 6:33Speaker 3: many close games and it hasn't gone their way. I
- 6:36Speaker 3: think they kind of have some of that what's going
- 6:38Speaker 3: to happen next, like that lack of belief that they
- 6:40Speaker 3: can figure out a way to get it done because
- 6:42Speaker 3: some of the things that happen is just unexplainable.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know, just to kind of continue the
- 6:47Speaker 4: conversation you were furthering the conversation you're having on the
- 6:51Speaker 4: Big twelve. I mean, maybe maybe the Chargers need to
- 6:53Speaker 4: go out to the Mountain West then find a Romeo Dobbs,
- 6:57Speaker 4: or maybe down to FCS in front of Christian Watson,
- 6:59Speaker 4: or maybe, you know, maybe even to the Big ten
- 7:02Speaker 4: here and find it. Jayden Reid, who I thought, I
- 7:03Speaker 4: thought that was kind of fun to watch those weren't
- 7:06Speaker 4: you know, prolific performances from all three of them, but
- 7:09Speaker 4: they all three contributed in a big way, and none
- 7:12Speaker 4: of them more than two years deep in the league, right,
- 7:14Speaker 4: Jayden Reid's the rookie. Dobbs and Watson rookies a year ago,
- 7:18Speaker 4: and you know, Dobbs makes a huge play and then
- 7:20Speaker 4: you like, and you know, as you talk about basketball
- 7:22Speaker 4: teams with receiver groups, they're starting to get that way
- 7:25Speaker 4: with the Packers here a little bit. Obviously got the
- 7:27Speaker 4: big body in Christian Watson, you know, he can really
- 7:30Speaker 4: kind of do it all, but Dobbs can be you
- 7:32Speaker 4: know a little bit of that. You know that that
- 7:33Speaker 4: guy you can rely on to get open, create a
- 7:35Speaker 4: little bit of separation. And then you know, Jayden Reid
- 7:38Speaker 4: is the exploser. You put the ball in his hands,
- 7:40Speaker 4: you know, in the run game, and you've got a
- 7:42Speaker 4: nice little core there. And then let's not forget about
- 7:44Speaker 4: the tight ends that they drafted this this year, right,
- 7:46Speaker 4: the two rookies you know, must Brave and Craft and
- 7:50Speaker 4: Craft Right, Craft ends up having a nice catch in
- 7:52Speaker 4: this game. So there there's a there's a young group
- 7:55Speaker 4: there led by let's call it, you know, he Jordan.
- 7:59Speaker 4: You know, Jordan loves been the league for four years,
- 8:00Speaker 4: but he's a young starting quarterback, and so they're going
- 8:03Speaker 4: to have an opportunity to grow that group. You know,
- 8:05Speaker 4: they got they got to get better up front, get
- 8:07Speaker 4: the run game going. But I think that's at least
- 8:09Speaker 4: a little bit of cause for encouragement. They're moving forward
- 8:12Speaker 4: with the pack.
- 8:13Speaker 1: The one thing too, though, the offensive line, they have
- 8:15Speaker 1: like the second lowest pressure rate in the league. So
- 8:17Speaker 1: they've done a really nice job in pass protection as
- 8:19Speaker 1: run wise. Run wise there, I think they're twenty first
- 8:22Speaker 1: in the league and rushing, yeah, and they roll those
- 8:24Speaker 1: guys through. They actually got two guys hurt in that game.
- 8:26Speaker 1: They were down to one running back. As Aaron Jones
- 8:28Speaker 1: was out, the third run back was out, it was
- 8:29Speaker 1: just the big fellow was all that was left. So again,
- 8:33Speaker 1: I think, you know, you can you can look at okay,
- 8:35Speaker 1: maybe at a piece here there on the offensive line,
- 8:37Speaker 1: I think they're okay there yea to me. To me,
- 8:41Speaker 1: it's just having that veteran something Bucks talked about for
- 8:43Speaker 1: years and years on here, like they have all young guys.
- 8:45Speaker 1: That's a challenge for a young quarterback when everybody around
- 8:48Speaker 1: you is young.
- 8:49Speaker 5: To me, could be there, you know, yeah.
- 8:51Speaker 1: But I mean I'm just seeing from a pass catcher,
- 8:53Speaker 1: like if you get some type of a veteran pass catcher,
- 8:56Speaker 1: even if he's not a number one or even a
- 8:58Speaker 1: number two, but just somebody that kind of put in
- 9:00Speaker 1: that room with all these young guys and then somebody
- 9:03Speaker 1: down that's a perfect that's a perfect example of a
- 9:06Speaker 1: type of guy that I think would be perfect for them.
- 9:09Speaker 1: But man, Jordan Love, he threw his first three hundred
- 9:12Speaker 1: yard game right three and twenty two yards two touchdowns.
- 9:15Speaker 1: He had a game winning touchdown twenty four yard er
- 9:17Speaker 1: where the Chargers did not get lined up and they
- 9:20Speaker 1: quick snapped him and won the right off the snap.
- 9:23Speaker 1: But guys, I mean, as great as that was his
- 9:25Speaker 1: best game in terms of yardage, he could have thrown
- 9:27Speaker 1: for four hundred and fifty yards. He missed musk Grave
- 9:29Speaker 1: on it would have been an eighty yard touchdown. He
- 9:31Speaker 1: overthrew him. There was other stuff that was out there
- 9:34Speaker 1: available to him. It was easy a four hundred yard
- 9:36Speaker 1: day for him if he if he hits on a
- 9:38Speaker 1: couple more balls. But talking to some of the guys
- 9:41Speaker 1: in the personnel department before the game with Green Bay,
- 9:44Speaker 1: they all they are very excited about Jordan Love. I mean,
- 9:46Speaker 1: it was no there was no hemming and hauling, there
- 9:49Speaker 1: was no hesitation. They love the fact that they get
- 9:52Speaker 1: the same guy every day. He brings a great attitude
- 9:55Speaker 1: every day. Everybody in the building loves being around him,
- 9:57Speaker 1: you know, treats everybody great. And that's not taking a
- 10:01Speaker 1: shot at Aaron Rodgers. I never even brought up Aaron
- 10:03Speaker 1: Rodgers name. I was just asking him about Love and
- 10:05Speaker 1: they were effusive and it was not you know, sometimes
- 10:07Speaker 1: with a young quarterback, he's thrown some picks, he's had
- 10:09Speaker 1: some turnovers. Yeah, you know it is buck. You know,
- 10:12Speaker 1: when you talk to your buddies and they're like, yeah,
- 10:15Speaker 1: I think, I think, I know we've got a chance.
- 10:18Speaker 1: We were hoping like that wasn't what I was getting.
- 10:21Speaker 1: They were like, yeah, no, we're good. We're good to go.
- 10:23Speaker 5: They're in on it.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And I think they also are in on
- 10:26Speaker 3: the process, like they've done this a few different times.
- 10:28Speaker 3: The one thing about Green Bay you have the continuity
- 10:31Speaker 3: of a lot of the personnel. Guys have been there
- 10:33Speaker 3: through the generation you're talking about Ron Wolf to Ted Tomson,
- 10:36Speaker 3: now de Goody, like they've been there. They've seen this
- 10:38Speaker 3: process work when it comes to the slow cooking at
- 10:41Speaker 3: the quarterback position.
- 10:42Speaker 2: And so Jordan Love you talk about in his fourth year.
- 10:45Speaker 3: They've seen him develop on the practice field right in
- 10:48Speaker 3: front of their eyes, and so there's some confidence that
- 10:50Speaker 3: he'll continue to take those strides. I would say they
- 10:53Speaker 3: still have to be better in the running back room,
- 10:57Speaker 3: Like Aaron Jones has not been really affective for them
- 10:59Speaker 3: this year because of injuries. At some point they got
- 11:01Speaker 3: to beef that part up. And I still think they
- 11:03Speaker 3: need more production from the defense. The defense that has
- 11:06Speaker 3: seven or eight first rounders playing in the rotation, that
- 11:10Speaker 3: defense has to be better than good. That defense needs
- 11:13Speaker 3: to be dominant if you're going to commit that many
- 11:15Speaker 3: resources to the side of the ball.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Yeah, they started two to seventh rounders at the secondary
- 11:22Speaker 1: in this game, so they're a little bit beat up
- 11:23Speaker 1: on the back end. I do think kay Walker's turned
- 11:25Speaker 1: into a nice player. He is explosive, he's got range,
- 11:28Speaker 1: plays physical. I like his game a lot, So they
- 11:31Speaker 1: need to get healthy there. I don't think this is
- 11:32Speaker 1: a team that's going to go far this year in
- 11:35Speaker 1: Green Bay, but I think the future is very bright.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I think they have a great foundation going forward. All right,
- 11:40Speaker 1: buck the game, you're out. Jags a big win over
- 11:42Speaker 1: the Titans.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Let me first say never.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Don't underestimate like the power of what the outside noise
- 11:51Speaker 3: can do to a player. I will tell you that
- 11:54Speaker 3: Number sixteen, Trevor Lawrence was a little edgy throughout the
- 11:57Speaker 3: game yesterday. Think he certainly has heard the conversation began
- 12:02Speaker 3: to hover around him and where he stands in the
- 12:06Speaker 3: division with CJ. Stroud, And they'll take care of that
- 12:08Speaker 3: next weekend. Because he was as determined as I've seen
- 12:13Speaker 3: him in a long time. And I will say this,
- 12:14Speaker 3: I don't think he played great. I think he played
- 12:15Speaker 3: good but I don't think it was a great performance,
- 12:18Speaker 3: but he definitely was kind of on his game and
- 12:21Speaker 3: kind of making sure that he got to stench out
- 12:24Speaker 3: that bad performance against the San Francisco forty nine ers.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Did a really good job getting into the playmakers. You
- 12:29Speaker 3: saw a more concerted effort to feature the top players.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Calvin Ridley going over one hundred yards at two sutdowns.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Yeah obviously about the fantasy. Yeah, sorry, it's a marathon,
- 12:43Speaker 3: not a sprint. So Kevin really showed up. Christen Kirk
- 12:46Speaker 3: had a couple opportunities offensively. It was the best that
- 12:50Speaker 3: the team has looked and I can tell you there's
- 12:51Speaker 3: a lot more potential for that to get better.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Uh.
- 12:54Speaker 3: But Trevor Lawrence had a very very solid, workman like performance.
- 12:57Speaker 3: They helped him by putting him in some of those
- 12:59Speaker 3: things that he's very comfortable. Then they ran them. They
- 13:01Speaker 3: put them on the move on boot legs. You saw
- 13:04Speaker 3: some of the screens and those things. But it was
- 13:06Speaker 3: a very comfortable game plan for him, and I think
- 13:09Speaker 3: they'll try and get away with that as long as
- 13:10Speaker 3: they can until somebody's able to stop what I call
- 13:13Speaker 3: those pet plays.
- 13:14Speaker 2: That they like to use for the number one quarterback.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I would say that in addition to,
- 13:21Speaker 4: you know, seeing Calvin Ridley get rolling, you know, which
- 13:24Speaker 4: was great, and then you did it wasn't just him, right,
- 13:26Speaker 4: you had Christian Kirk going too, So using the multitude
- 13:29Speaker 4: of talents that you do have and that you acquired
- 13:32Speaker 4: and brought in was great to see. I'm just I'm
- 13:34Speaker 4: looking at this thing on the Texan side of the
- 13:36Speaker 4: Titan side rather Mike boy.
- 13:38Speaker 5: We had caught lightning in a bottle right.
- 13:40Speaker 4: With Will Levis in that first game and those four
- 13:42Speaker 4: explosive touchdowns, and it just it hasn't looked right since.
- 13:46Speaker 4: And I guess that's kind of to be expected, you know,
- 13:48Speaker 4: with a quarterback, rookie quarterback who assumes the starting role
- 13:50Speaker 4: in the middle of the season, you know, you start
- 13:53Speaker 4: to get a little bit more of that tape and
- 13:55Speaker 4: defenses understand a little bit more of what you're all about.
- 13:57Speaker 4: But I just keep coming back to, like the Titans
- 13:59Speaker 4: just don't have enough answers offensively, and like this is
- 14:02Speaker 4: a team that feels like they need a bit of
- 14:04Speaker 4: an overhaul here as they go into next season to
- 14:08Speaker 4: try to figure out what they want to do. I
- 14:09Speaker 4: mean Derrick Henry what thirty thirty something yards in this
- 14:13Speaker 4: game on the ground. I mean they were trying to
- 14:15Speaker 4: direct snap it to him a couple of times. Did
- 14:16Speaker 4: their touchdowns come late?
- 14:18Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 14:18Speaker 1: It was a trick play.
- 14:19Speaker 5: It was a double reverse.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Yeah, came real late in the game. It was a
- 14:25Speaker 3: shoutout in the fourth quarter. And then they got a
- 14:27Speaker 3: couple of plays and hit on some things. And because
- 14:29Speaker 3: I'm looking at this is what's.
- 14:30Speaker 1: So funny, because I again I didn't see this game.
- 14:32Speaker 1: So levis thirteen for seventeen, a buck fifty eight, two touchdowns.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I must look at twenty three yards in the first
- 14:42Speaker 1: half twenty three Yeah.
- 14:43Speaker 3: The trick play had they count for about fifty of
- 14:45Speaker 3: those yards when they they basically ran a wildcat play
- 14:49Speaker 3: that I just remember the Jets running back in the
- 14:51Speaker 3: day with Chad or the Jets, so the Dolphins running
- 14:53Speaker 3: with Chad Pennington where they threw it down the field.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Here's what I'll say about the Titans, Like watching it,
- 15:00Speaker 3: you're now at the point where you have to make
- 15:01Speaker 3: a decision are we rebuilding or not? Because like they're
- 15:06Speaker 3: at the point you can't middle to it. Yeah, like
- 15:08Speaker 3: you have to either do it. And I will say
- 15:10Speaker 3: this about Will Levis. That first game was great against
- 15:13Speaker 3: the Atlanta Falcons, but now you're seeing some of the
- 15:17Speaker 3: worst that were on this game when we talked about
- 15:18Speaker 3: him through the process, had problems taking the snap, shotgun
- 15:22Speaker 3: and under center. The Jaguars did a really good job
- 15:25Speaker 3: of changing the picture pre snap and post snap. You
- 15:28Speaker 3: had a tough time figuring out where to go with
- 15:30Speaker 3: the ball, and without the support of a dominant running game,
- 15:35Speaker 3: it was really really hard on him. And I think
- 15:37Speaker 3: we will talk about to celebrate Derrick Henry as one
- 15:39Speaker 3: of the best running backs of this eraror. But look, man,
- 15:44Speaker 3: it's time and so they need to kind of reboot
- 15:47Speaker 3: the situation. They need a younger, faster, more dynamic team
- 15:50Speaker 3: and it might take them a year or two to
- 15:52Speaker 3: be able to.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Put that together.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Whether it's Will Levis or whoever that quarterback is going
- 15:56Speaker 3: to be. They need kind of complete overall to be
- 15:58Speaker 3: able to get this team up and going.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt. Interesting times there in Tennessee. This game
- 16:04Speaker 1: maybe it's a game of the day, right your first
- 16:06Speaker 1: one here Lions and the Bears.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Man, that was interesting because the Bears went down scored
- 16:12Speaker 4: on their opening possession.
- 16:13Speaker 5: You're like, okay, justin.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Fields, you know, back to doing what he does. Was
- 16:16Speaker 4: scrambling around a little bit, was getting yards on the
- 16:18Speaker 4: ground and made a couple of big throws. He got
- 16:20Speaker 4: DJ Moore back involved, which I thought was a big
- 16:22Speaker 4: thing for Chicago. But ultimately, like this game comes down
- 16:26Speaker 4: to pressure situations, and you know, I look back at
- 16:30Speaker 4: the Lions and obviously you know, we're all involved, you know,
- 16:32Speaker 4: heavily involved on the college football level, where it does
- 16:36Speaker 4: feel like you have more of the more of those
- 16:38Speaker 4: mantras that you know, coaches try to use, right, more
- 16:41Speaker 4: of the culture building, foundational type of cult type of
- 16:45Speaker 4: philosophies that you talk about and they're very vocal with
- 16:48Speaker 4: because it's important to rally a team that big and
- 16:51Speaker 4: each and every week.
- 16:52Speaker 5: And it feels.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Like there's a little bit of that in Detroit and
- 16:56Speaker 4: that grit because you know, you're down twenty six to
- 16:59Speaker 4: four team, You're down two scores to a team you
- 17:02Speaker 4: should have no should that should have no business being
- 17:04Speaker 4: in that game with you, based on talent and the
- 17:07Speaker 4: way that both teams have played, and they just keep fighting. Man,
- 17:10Speaker 4: those final four minutes That's what I went back and
- 17:12Speaker 4: looked at. The Lions ran seventeen plays in the final
- 17:16Speaker 4: four minutes, the Bears ran, the Bears ran four and
- 17:21Speaker 4: in those seventeen plays, the Lions faced just two third downs.
- 17:25Speaker 4: So Jared Goff had did not have a good game
- 17:27Speaker 4: through three interceptions in this thing, and it was rough
- 17:30Speaker 4: all day long. But again, stay the course, stay the course,
- 17:32Speaker 4: Stay the course, stay the course. And then how about this,
- 17:35Speaker 4: And this is what I love and this is why
- 17:36Speaker 4: I love, you know, being on this podcast because we
- 17:38Speaker 4: get a chance to do this and kind of go
- 17:40Speaker 4: back to how some of these teams were built. How
- 17:42Speaker 4: about the Lions draft picks contributing in those final four minutes.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Sam Laporte has three catches, one of them goes for
- 17:47Speaker 4: a first down. A Monor Saint Brown two catches, one
- 17:49Speaker 4: of them goes for a first down. Jamison Williams catches
- 17:53Speaker 4: the explosive play touchdown that gets them back within striking distance.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Then the defense comes out onto the field. Jack Campbell
- 17:59Speaker 4: big run stuff on first down, Alee McNeil stones, Tevin
- 18:03Speaker 4: Jenkins big run stuff on second down.
- 18:05Speaker 5: They go incomplete on third.
- 18:06Speaker 4: They took fifteen seconds off the clock, gave the ball
- 18:09Speaker 4: back to the Lions, who then you know, continue to
- 18:12Speaker 4: Jamior Gibbs a couple of catches on that final drive
- 18:15Speaker 4: and then David Montgomery punches it in, hits Sam Laport
- 18:18Speaker 4: on the two pointer, and then who closes it out
- 18:21Speaker 4: at the end, but Aiden Hutchinson with a strip sack
- 18:24Speaker 4: for a safety. Those are homegrown dudes, and with the
- 18:26Speaker 4: exceptional Montgomery. Cam Sutton made a play too. But they
- 18:29Speaker 4: are getting major contributions from players that they have spent
- 18:32Speaker 4: major resources in the draft selecting, and I just kind
- 18:36Speaker 4: of love seeing all that come together now.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Man, look so and watching this game, like from the
- 18:42Speaker 3: Lions standpoint, I do think is great.
- 18:44Speaker 2: The resilience to the show.
- 18:45Speaker 3: And they talk about the grit and those things, and
- 18:47Speaker 3: we've talked about on this podcast a couple times about
- 18:50Speaker 3: the team taking on the character of the coaches.
- 18:53Speaker 2: So this is a tough team.
- 18:54Speaker 3: And I think Jerry golf and Body Day, you have
- 18:56Speaker 3: three interceptions and you bounced back and you're able to
- 18:58Speaker 3: kind of do what he was able to do to
- 19:00Speaker 3: get them back seventeen points.
- 19:02Speaker 2: In the fourth quarter, he makes the.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Dime throw to Jamison Williams to kind of put them
- 19:08Speaker 3: over the top. And just the way that he has
- 19:11Speaker 3: been able to kind of like steady this offense whenever
- 19:14Speaker 3: they needed it.
- 19:15Speaker 2: You gotta love that.
- 19:16Speaker 3: From the Bear standpoint, I think it's interesting to see
- 19:18Speaker 3: how they go about this process when it comes to
- 19:20Speaker 3: evaluating Justin Fields had over one hundred yards rushing, had
- 19:24Speaker 3: a pretty solid day through the air. But man, once
- 19:27Speaker 3: again at the end of the game, he had a fumble.
- 19:29Speaker 3: If you think about what he has done since he's
- 19:31Speaker 3: been the starting quarterback for the Bears, I want to say, yes,
- 19:33Speaker 3: thirty one or thirty two fumbles. He just has a
- 19:36Speaker 3: tough time with ball security. Not all his fault, but
- 19:38Speaker 3: the quarterback has the ball, he has to take care
- 19:40Speaker 3: of it. I just wonder what is going to be
- 19:43Speaker 3: the decision that they make at the end of the year.
- 19:47Speaker 3: He's been good enough to keep him around, but he's
- 19:50Speaker 3: good enough to pay him the significant amount of money
- 19:53Speaker 3: that he's going to be old if he's a starting
- 19:55Speaker 3: quarterback for a team. I just wanted do you reset
- 19:58Speaker 3: the clock with a draft pick or stayed? Of course,
- 20:01Speaker 3: tough decision for the Bears, but just one that they
- 20:03Speaker 3: gonna have to make coming up short Where is he from? Buck,
- 20:07Speaker 3: that's from Atlanta. Yeah, he's right right outside of Atlanta. Interesting,
- 20:11Speaker 3: all right.
- 20:11Speaker 1: We're gonna we're gonna take a break, we come back.
- 20:13Speaker 1: We'll get into the Bucks and the Niners right after this.
- 20:22Speaker 1: All right. It was just a little cliffhanger there at
- 20:24Speaker 1: the end of the that's all I'm just saying. Okay,
- 20:27Speaker 1: it's from Atlanta. I don't know. Maybe they're in the
- 20:29Speaker 1: quarterback market. Who knows. All Right, I'm up next here. Niners,
- 20:33Speaker 1: Bucks twenty seven fourteen forty nine ers are rolling right now.
- 20:36Speaker 1: They're back into a groove after a little bit of
- 20:38Speaker 1: a stumble there in the middle part of the season.
- 20:40Speaker 1: They're back rock parties playing really well. And the first
- 20:43Speaker 1: thing I wanted to look at, you know, and I
- 20:45Speaker 1: pulled out the box score. The thing that jumped out
- 20:46Speaker 1: to me was Iyuke with five for a buck fifty six.
- 20:49Speaker 1: So I want to jump into his tape this morning
- 20:52Speaker 1: and see what that looks like. And man, I always
- 20:55Speaker 1: would say off the line releases, it was Davante Adams,
- 21:00Speaker 1: Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, or the three guys you study
- 21:03Speaker 1: like if you talk to young receivers, those the guys.
- 21:05Speaker 1: You look at Brandon Ayukxen, he's he's in the mix
- 21:08Speaker 1: now with what he does, and they they look they
- 21:10Speaker 1: motioned him on one of them, and man, it's like
- 21:12Speaker 1: he's shot out of a cannon. Once. They're using that motion,
- 21:15Speaker 1: then turning it up the field and then running. They're
- 21:17Speaker 1: running a lot of digs out of that. So it's
- 21:19Speaker 1: like the Tyreek Hill play, except they're doing it instead
- 21:21Speaker 1: of instead of just that short outside motion, they're just
- 21:24Speaker 1: still doing the motion across the field. But then he
- 21:26Speaker 1: hits that gas and then you press and you get
- 21:29Speaker 1: on top of their toes and you snap it off.
- 21:31Speaker 1: But anyways, that was impressive. But the other ones were
- 21:33Speaker 1: just his releases off the line of scrimmage or big time.
- 21:36Speaker 1: He's explosive out of the break point. He's after the catch,
- 21:40Speaker 1: he gets he has juice after the catch, he has
- 21:43Speaker 1: another gear when the ball's up in the air. He's
- 21:45Speaker 1: a he's a really good player. I think to me,
- 21:47Speaker 1: he's and no disrespect to any of the other guys
- 21:50Speaker 1: they've got. They've got a lot of playmakers on that team.
- 21:53Speaker 1: To me, if we go out into the backyard and
- 21:55Speaker 1: the park and say I've got to have a completion
- 21:57Speaker 1: and a playmate. He'd be the one that I would
- 21:59Speaker 1: take on all those guys.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it's funny because what we're saying, and I think
- 22:06Speaker 3: we've used the analogy when it comes to bass to
- 22:10Speaker 3: quarterbacks like shooter and score.
- 22:12Speaker 2: So the difference is he's a shooter.
- 22:14Speaker 3: To me, he's a more refined receiver than Deebo Samuel
- 22:17Speaker 3: in terms of route running ability overall skill level. He
- 22:20Speaker 3: is that Deebo Samuel is someone you want to put
- 22:22Speaker 3: the ball in his hands and let him go to
- 22:23Speaker 3: work because the best thing that he does is make
- 22:25Speaker 3: the magic happen in open field.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Yuck is a route runner and what the Niners do, and.
- 22:31Speaker 3: You know, we're talking about brock perty having a three
- 22:33Speaker 3: hunder yard game having a perfect passer rating. I don't
- 22:36Speaker 3: know if I've seen a team throw the ball over
- 22:37Speaker 3: the middle more than in terms of hey, we're throwing
- 22:44Speaker 3: everything inside the numbers in breaking routes on the move,
- 22:48Speaker 3: I don't know if anyone does it better than them.
- 22:50Speaker 3: And I know it's a combination of play acts because
- 22:52Speaker 3: they move the linebackers up and they create these huge voids,
- 22:55Speaker 3: but man, they get more ballas out of these inbreaking
- 22:58Speaker 3: deep overs, crossers, digs then any of the team that
- 23:02Speaker 3: I've seen, and as Brock Purdy is silencing the naysayers
- 23:07Speaker 3: and bouncing back in a major way. This team is
- 23:11Speaker 3: so good offensively that it often overshadows what they do
- 23:16Speaker 3: on defense. But man, this team is prime and ready.
- 23:19Speaker 3: And we talked about Philadelphia having a major game on
- 23:22Speaker 3: Monday night against the Kansa City Chiefs, but that that
- 23:26Speaker 3: train is coming, the San Francisco forty nine or train
- 23:29Speaker 3: is coming, and it's gonna be exciting to see them
- 23:31Speaker 3: kind of square it off.
- 23:32Speaker 2: You know.
- 23:33Speaker 4: I would just take a brief look at the four
- 23:34Speaker 4: at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. You know, started the season
- 23:37Speaker 4: three and one, and they were kind of one of
- 23:38Speaker 4: those teams you're like, huh, all right, maybe a little
- 23:40Speaker 4: better than we thought, you know, Baker Mayfield maybe settling
- 23:43Speaker 4: them down, but now you know, unfortunately they've lost five
- 23:45Speaker 4: of six. I will say there are some bright spots here.
- 23:49Speaker 1: You know.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Klaijahkansei, I don't even know if he played in this game,
- 23:52Speaker 4: but he didn't end up on on the stat sheet.
- 23:54Speaker 1: At all, but four sacks.
- 23:57Speaker 5: Yeah, he has had some real.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Flashes, certainly as he came back off the injury that
- 24:01Speaker 4: he started the season with. How about yah Yad Diabi
- 24:04Speaker 4: two sacks in this game from from Louisville?
- 24:07Speaker 5: Where did?
- 24:07Speaker 2: Where? Do you have?
- 24:08Speaker 4: A terrific week leading into the end of the draft
- 24:10Speaker 4: process Senior Bowl right at A at a pretty good
- 24:14Speaker 4: week right there. And then obviously they've got, you know,
- 24:16Speaker 4: guys like Antoine Winfield will be foundational pieces for him
- 24:19Speaker 4: moving forward. But again, it was just kind of fun
- 24:22Speaker 4: to go back and look and watch it. You know,
- 24:24Speaker 4: a young player like that that can make some plays
- 24:27Speaker 4: for you and you can point to that moving forward.
- 24:28Speaker 4: Be like, all right, obviously we got Vidavea, who's just
- 24:31Speaker 4: an absolute, you know, stud and force of nature, you
- 24:34Speaker 4: know in the middle, and there's some real I mean,
- 24:36Speaker 4: there's real playmakers on that defense. They just they got
- 24:38Speaker 4: to figure out what they want to be offensively, and
- 24:41Speaker 4: they're getting older there at some of those positions that
- 24:44Speaker 4: you've been counting on. The Mike Evans situation with the
- 24:47Speaker 4: contract sounds like this is you know it, what's up
- 24:49Speaker 4: with Chris Godwin buck So like I I and then
- 24:53Speaker 4: look at that DJ. I just I think that they
- 24:55Speaker 4: have put in some some nice effort defensively to build
- 24:58Speaker 4: that roster. I just I don't know what it's getting
- 25:00Speaker 4: him right now.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Yeah, one thing, I'll pull up my notes here on
- 25:04Speaker 1: Dyabi ya ya Dabi was six ozho three three two
- 25:07Speaker 1: sixty three. He ran four or five to one. Played
- 25:10Speaker 1: a lot of three man front. You see some push
- 25:12Speaker 1: and pull stuff with him. He's got quick change of direction, flashes,
- 25:15Speaker 1: a shaking bowl. He'll get washed and toss some at
- 25:18Speaker 1: the in the run the point of attack. He's a tweener,
- 25:21Speaker 1: but he's got thirty four inch arms and he ran
- 25:23Speaker 1: four five to one. So Buck, we always talk about
- 25:27Speaker 1: pass rushers traits. Man, that's it, right, you hit it,
- 25:30Speaker 1: it's the traits.
- 25:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:32Speaker 2: So did you want to go back to the Niners
- 25:33Speaker 2: right quick?
- 25:34Speaker 1: Right?
- 25:34Speaker 3: So, in two games, we've seen Chase Young have what
- 25:38Speaker 3: a sac and a half two sacks. We've seen him
- 25:41Speaker 3: be as active as we've seen since his rookie year
- 25:43Speaker 3: when he was defensive Rookie of the Year. I'm now
- 25:45Speaker 3: wondering if you're the San Francisco forty nine ers, and
- 25:47Speaker 3: I know, man, you'd like to allocate cash and resources
- 25:50Speaker 3: to that front line, But do you do anything that
- 25:53Speaker 3: you can to keep him in the fold because he
- 25:55Speaker 3: certainly made a difference.
- 25:56Speaker 2: On the quarterback.
- 25:57Speaker 3: You got money, I mean, I mean, do you do
- 25:59Speaker 3: you go all so you now have Nick Bosa, Javon Hargrave,
- 26:02Speaker 3: you have Eric Armstead and Chase Young and you just
- 26:05Speaker 3: live with whatever you have to get.
- 26:06Speaker 5: That's when they've been the best. That's when they've been
- 26:09Speaker 5: at their best.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Yeah, for the next time. Ye after that you have
- 26:13Speaker 1: to figure out some stuff. But yeah, I think for
- 26:15Speaker 1: the next two years they can roster that they can
- 26:17Speaker 1: roster that money because I'm just looking.
- 26:19Speaker 3: At him and just looking at the difference that he's
- 26:21Speaker 3: made and just the energy, the effort that he's just playing,
- 26:24Speaker 3: the skill level, like we talk about the D line
- 26:26Speaker 3: coach Chris Caseric and that stuff.
- 26:28Speaker 2: The environment.
- 26:29Speaker 3: To me, it just makes too much sense for them.
- 26:31Speaker 3: They talk about building strength on strength on that front line.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Why not find a way to keep him. I know
- 26:36Speaker 3: it's a short term runner, but why not find a
- 26:38Speaker 3: way to keep him their long term?
- 26:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you. I'm with you on that one
- 26:43Speaker 1: big win for the Niners. Let's keep it moving here, Bucket,
- 26:46Speaker 1: you are up next, and you've got Steelers Brown really
- 26:49Speaker 1: really high scoring. Fun game there, huh.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yeah, fun game.
- 26:52Speaker 3: I mean, look, you knew when it was the Steelers,
- 26:53Speaker 3: the the score is going to be always bet the under,
- 26:56Speaker 3: and so like thirteen ten, the Browns find a way
- 26:59Speaker 3: to do it. But I never would have imagined that
- 27:03Speaker 3: the Cleveland Browns, after all the injuries, would be sitting
- 27:06Speaker 3: there in the spot like where it could be first place.
- 27:08Speaker 2: You know, we could talk about DTR.
- 27:10Speaker 3: He had a bad performance the first time he had
- 27:12Speaker 3: an opportunity to start, but then he's able to leave
- 27:15Speaker 3: a game winning winning drive to get them over the top.
- 27:17Speaker 3: And when you look at this team and this defense,
- 27:20Speaker 3: I mean this defense that they're trying out, I mean
- 27:22Speaker 3: you talk about Miles Garrett and crew, like he's defensive
- 27:25Speaker 3: played a year, two sacks, three quarterback, four pressures, all
- 27:28Speaker 3: that other stuff. Like the defense continues to do whatever
- 27:31Speaker 3: they want to do, just dominant when it comes to
- 27:35Speaker 3: their effort, but just getting enough offense to be able
- 27:39Speaker 3: to get over the top.
- 27:40Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, can this team really win a division? Like?
- 27:44Speaker 3: I mean, is this a team that really can win
- 27:45Speaker 3: a division with a rookie quarterback that.
- 27:48Speaker 2: When has to do DTR?
- 27:51Speaker 1: I mean anywhere they're not falling off. Man, it's impressive.
- 27:56Speaker 1: And then Brett on the Steeler side of things, I
- 27:59Speaker 1: want to get to you on that one. Just I
- 28:00Speaker 1: know you're starting to see Deontay Johnson. I saw a
- 28:03Speaker 1: tweet there where he's, you know, some fan had called
- 28:05Speaker 1: him out saying he ran a wrong route and he's like, Hey,
- 28:07Speaker 1: that ain't that's not accurate. Bah blah blah blah blah.
- 28:10Speaker 1: And then the Kenny Pickett noise is getting louder and
- 28:12Speaker 1: louder and louder, and Matt Canada has been catching his grief,
- 28:16Speaker 1: but points is no bueno.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Well, I mean the best player on their team right
- 28:21Speaker 4: now offensively is Jalen Warren. I mean you got a
- 28:26Speaker 4: seventy four yard rushing touchdown on the second play of
- 28:29Speaker 4: the second half, which was more yards gained than the
- 28:33Speaker 4: entirety of the Steelers offense in the first half. Yeah,
- 28:36Speaker 4: I mean, like what what. I don't want to sound
- 28:39Speaker 4: like we're picking on Najie Harris here because I don't
- 28:40Speaker 4: think it's it's necessarily all his fault, but you'll get
- 28:43Speaker 4: nine carries on hundred twenty nine yards.
- 28:44Speaker 1: He have a huge runway hit twelve for thirty five
- 28:48Speaker 1: for Harris.
- 28:49Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just one of those things is not like
- 28:52Speaker 5: the other.
- 28:52Speaker 1: You know, one deserves more.
- 28:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and they just don't have in Jalen Warren's the
- 28:57Speaker 4: only guy with juice right now. And it's a shame
- 29:00Speaker 4: because there are talents there. I mean, we've seen what
- 29:02Speaker 4: Deontay Johnson can do, right, we see what George Pickens
- 29:04Speaker 4: is capable of goodness.
- 29:06Speaker 5: But you know, you just need more.
- 29:08Speaker 4: You need more than just a splash play here and there,
- 29:10Speaker 4: and they gotta find they gotta find more Jews, more consistent.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Buck, would you agree with this statement that your talent,
- 29:17Speaker 1: like you're if we look at receiving corps, your receiving
- 29:19Speaker 1: corps has to match both your quarterback and your coordinator.
- 29:23Speaker 1: That all has to be in alignment because there's different
- 29:25Speaker 1: ways to play games. There's different ways to win games.
- 29:28Speaker 1: You know, like what works with certain quarterbacks might not
- 29:31Speaker 1: work with that coordinator or you know one of the
- 29:33Speaker 1: you all have to be in alignment. Here, build your
- 29:35Speaker 1: team that fits both your your coordinator and your quarterback.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you absolutely have to to do that. And here's
- 29:42Speaker 3: the thing, and here's the thing. They would frustrate me
- 29:44Speaker 3: if I'm a Stills fan when it comes to Deontay Johnson, Right,
- 29:47Speaker 3: so have you washed him up close?
- 29:48Speaker 2: Like he's great where I running, he has tremendous skills.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Or whatever, but he drops a lot of fastest and
- 29:54Speaker 3: so like he demands the ball, he wants the ball,
- 29:57Speaker 3: he wants to be featured. But man, there's too many
- 29:58Speaker 3: times where they put the ball in his hands and
- 30:01Speaker 3: he can't catch it. And so I can understand his frustration,
- 30:04Speaker 3: but also understand the frustration of the coaches because he
- 30:07Speaker 3: has paid like a high end playmaker, but I don't
- 30:10Speaker 3: know if he's necessarily worthy of being considered a high
- 30:14Speaker 3: end playmaker.
- 30:15Speaker 2: There's just a rub.
- 30:16Speaker 3: And you heard Naja Harris after game talk about like
- 30:19Speaker 3: guys playing like not putting the team first. I feel
- 30:23Speaker 3: like there's a lot of stuff swirling around that locker room,
- 30:25Speaker 3: and I'm not surprised because when the offense doesn't perform
- 30:27Speaker 3: like that, there's a lot of finger pointing that can
- 30:30Speaker 3: go from offense to defense and from offensive players to
- 30:33Speaker 3: other offensive players, trying to blame those who they perceive
- 30:36Speaker 3: to not be carrying their weight.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt. RTT keep us going here, What do you.
- 30:41Speaker 4: Got next Cardinals sections and this is an interesting one.
- 30:45Speaker 4: And I don't know that anybody would have circled this
- 30:47Speaker 4: game on the calendar before the season started. But man,
- 30:50Speaker 4: with Kyler Murray back and based on what he did
- 30:53Speaker 4: last year, last week in his debut, I'm like, all right,
- 30:55Speaker 4: this is gonna be a heck of a game.
- 30:56Speaker 2: And it was.
- 30:57Speaker 5: I mean it was bombs away early, Kyler Murray found
- 30:59Speaker 5: Rondell More or you know, the shot shot shots, the
- 31:01Speaker 5: whole thing it was.
- 31:03Speaker 1: It was they had it going right.
- 31:07Speaker 4: But you know, we used to do a show I
- 31:09Speaker 4: used to do a show with Brian Billick and Sean
- 31:10Speaker 4: O'Hara called the Playbook for NFL Network, and one of
- 31:13Speaker 4: their big mantras was third down in red zone is
- 31:17Speaker 4: what win games? Right, And he's talking about all the time. Uh,
- 31:20Speaker 4: and that was such a case in this game. Here
- 31:23Speaker 4: just quickly to set it up on CJ. Stroud obviously
- 31:26Speaker 4: not his best game, through more interceptions in this game
- 31:28Speaker 4: than he had the entire season leading into it.
- 31:31Speaker 5: The third one was the worst. You know, they're trying
- 31:34Speaker 5: to put the ball away.
- 31:34Speaker 4: Final five minutes of the cut the game away, final
- 31:36Speaker 4: five minutes bad mechanics kind of falling away with.
- 31:40Speaker 5: Some interior pressure and throws inside on an out route.
- 31:42Speaker 5: Can't have it right.
- 31:43Speaker 4: But then the other two interceptions come in the red zone.
- 31:46Speaker 4: They were down in the red zone five times and
- 31:49Speaker 4: came away with just two touchdowns. They should have blown
- 31:51Speaker 4: the Cardinals out in that game. He had, you know,
- 31:54Speaker 4: obviously a couple of decisions that he went back. One
- 31:56Speaker 4: of them I think bounced off Robert Woods's hands. The
- 31:59Speaker 4: Cardinals got into the red zone once in that game,
- 32:02Speaker 4: so five times to one.
- 32:04Speaker 5: And then let's talk about third down. Here.
- 32:06Speaker 1: CJ.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Stroud on third down in this game ten for eleven,
- 32:10Speaker 4: one hundred and twenty six yards in a touchdown. You
- 32:13Speaker 4: know what he is now on the season adjusted completion
- 32:17Speaker 4: rate on third downs to account for drops, eighty percent
- 32:21Speaker 4: on third downs. Yeah, they converted seventy percent of their
- 32:24Speaker 4: third downs in this game. The Cardinals converted thirty percent.
- 32:28Speaker 4: Like you just look at those two facets and you
- 32:30Speaker 4: understand how the game ended up. Now, Look, they needed
- 32:32Speaker 4: the defense to stand up in the second half. Texans
- 32:35Speaker 4: didn't score a point in the second half. Defense made
- 32:37Speaker 4: it stand up behind Will Anderson and Christian Harris, A
- 32:40Speaker 4: couple of draft picks there the last couple of years
- 32:42Speaker 4: there in Houston, Will had a sack, Christian Harris was
- 32:45Speaker 4: all over the field, tackles all over the place. Again,
- 32:49Speaker 4: fun team to watch, and they're playing complimentary football here.
- 32:52Speaker 4: When CJ didn't have it, defense made it stand up,
- 32:55Speaker 4: which is kind of cool.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Hey, buck real quick? Who drafted Tank Dell this week
- 32:58Speaker 1: in our rookie draft?
- 33:02Speaker 2: Oh you got him, didn't he? I don't think I
- 33:05Speaker 2: didn't get him.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Come on, because you took Stroud And I said, I'm
- 33:10Speaker 1: not getting you the connection yet, not get.
- 33:13Speaker 3: He's not letting you get the trifect of the combination.
- 33:16Speaker 3: But my goodness, they're young, dude. I mean just it's
- 33:20Speaker 3: it's really amazing Tangdale doing what he's doing. But man,
- 33:23Speaker 3: how about Devin Singletary going over one hundred yards like
- 33:25Speaker 3: you talk about the donasty Yeah. Last year, man, it
- 33:29Speaker 3: was all about Damian Parson all that other stuff. And
- 33:31Speaker 3: now for them to remember Buffalo just kind of dispatched him,
- 33:35Speaker 3: didn't think he really could do anything. He goes to Houston,
- 33:37Speaker 3: he's been a big time playbacker for them.
- 33:40Speaker 2: This is a dangerous team. It's a scary team.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Because they're getting confidence and they've won in a bunch
- 33:45Speaker 3: of different ways. Look, man, they're gonna be a force
- 33:47Speaker 3: to be reckoned with as they continue to grow and
- 33:49Speaker 3: grow together. This is a team that has done a
- 33:51Speaker 3: really good job of rebuilding itself, and I don't I
- 33:54Speaker 3: think the best is yet to come because there's still
- 33:56Speaker 3: so many pieces that they can add to this puzzle.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll tell you what, this is a perfect This
- 34:01Speaker 1: is perfect for Arizona real quick.
- 34:03Speaker 2: RHT.
- 34:03Speaker 1: That's what I want to see. I want to see
- 34:05Speaker 1: Kyler Murray play, you know, do some good things. Play well.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Give me some hope that he can, you know, be
- 34:11Speaker 1: who we has been at his best going forward. Free
- 34:14Speaker 1: us up with the second overall pick in the draft
- 34:17Speaker 1: to be able to trade it for a king's ransom
- 34:19Speaker 1: if you wanted. I think they picked two and twenty
- 34:21Speaker 1: one if the season ended today, because obviously the Houston
- 34:24Speaker 1: pick hasn't worked out as well as they would have
- 34:26Speaker 1: hoped the way they're playing, right, But I mean that
- 34:29Speaker 1: I don't know everybody's We've just kind of assumed, I think,
- 34:31Speaker 1: you know, before the season started that this is you know,
- 34:34Speaker 1: Caleb Williams or it's gonna be Drake May. They're taking
- 34:36Speaker 1: a quarterback, whether they're one or two. Now I'm sitting
- 34:39Speaker 1: here saying, if they're two and Kyler Murray shows you
- 34:43Speaker 1: what we've seen like some doing some good things. I mean,
- 34:45Speaker 1: this is a rookie of the year. This guy's had
- 34:47Speaker 1: some big time moments and big time games, and you
- 34:50Speaker 1: already paid him. So I don't know that. I don't
- 34:53Speaker 1: know that the threshold for him is as high as
- 34:56Speaker 1: as maybe for another, you know, first contract quarterback. You're like, Okay,
- 34:59Speaker 1: we we don't want to pay him, We're going to
- 35:01Speaker 1: draft another one. We'll start the process. So you've already
- 35:03Speaker 1: wrote the check, or you just.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Put you know, you just put Marvin Harrison in place
- 35:08Speaker 4: of Greg Dortch, who is their leading.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Well, that's the other thing. Yeah,
- 35:12Speaker 1: either trade that pick or you take what As I'm
- 35:14Speaker 1: getting started on this, I don't know that there's going
- 35:16Speaker 1: to be a better player than Marvin Harrison in this draft.
- 35:18Speaker 1: And that's including the quarterbacks. So yeah, and then he's
- 35:21Speaker 1: your Larry Fitzgerald for exact generation exactly off and running
- 35:26Speaker 1: all right, next game up here? Who is up next?
- 35:28Speaker 2: It's me.
- 35:29Speaker 1: We had the Sunday night or this was the Broncos
- 35:32Speaker 1: coming back beating the Vikings. I wanted to jump in
- 35:35Speaker 1: and look at Russell Wilson. So that was my tape
- 35:37Speaker 1: study this morning, studied him, went through all of his plays.
- 35:40Speaker 1: I thought it was interesting, you know, you think about
- 35:43Speaker 1: a veteran coach. Even though the points didn't come early,
- 35:46Speaker 1: they had they stalled out. They had some field goals
- 35:48Speaker 1: there in the first half. But I thought that to
- 35:51Speaker 1: steal a Bucky line, they let him get see the
- 35:54Speaker 1: ball go through the hoop, you know, so the way
- 35:56Speaker 1: they start out the game as a quarterback and it's
- 36:00Speaker 1: little stick route, just an easy easy throw. Get the receiver,
- 36:03Speaker 1: gives you the numbers. It's an easy, easy completion. Then
- 36:06Speaker 1: it's a swing. Then he's checking the ball down a
- 36:09Speaker 1: couple of times. You know, he hit a curl and
- 36:12Speaker 1: so he hit a curl to Judy, he hit a
- 36:13Speaker 1: go ball of a sudden and you know, somewhat early.
- 36:16Speaker 1: But they ease him into games and they get him
- 36:19Speaker 1: and I think it kind of gets him into that mindset.
- 36:20Speaker 1: There's a reason that they're doing so well, you know,
- 36:22Speaker 1: protecting the football and not turning the ball over. I
- 36:25Speaker 1: think sometimes in games, what you do early on in
- 36:27Speaker 1: the game kind of dictates the mindset for the quarterback
- 36:30Speaker 1: of how to play. And I think it's, hey, we're
- 36:32Speaker 1: going to take what they give us. Man, We're not
- 36:33Speaker 1: gonna We're not gonna try and do too much. We're
- 36:35Speaker 1: gonna take. We're gonna stay in the game's not gonna
- 36:37Speaker 1: get away from us. Our defense is going to play well.
- 36:40Speaker 1: We're not going to lose the game early. We're going
- 36:42Speaker 1: to feel the game out. We're going to hang in
- 36:44Speaker 1: the game. And as we start getting a feel for
- 36:46Speaker 1: the opponent and what, you know, we're gonna we have
- 36:48Speaker 1: a couple of shots that we're going to dial in here,
- 36:50Speaker 1: we'll bake into the offense. But I don't know, I
- 36:52Speaker 1: just I thought it was kind of a masterful job
- 36:54Speaker 1: by Sean Payton of just getting someone into the flow
- 36:57Speaker 1: of a game. And that's what he did with Russell
- 36:58Speaker 1: Wilson and then obviously the big time throw late, you know,
- 37:01Speaker 1: to win the ball game. But I thought that game
- 37:03Speaker 1: was one not late, but was one early with how
- 37:06Speaker 1: they kind of got into the ball game.
- 37:07Speaker 3: Yeah, No, I give Champagne a lot of credit for
- 37:09Speaker 3: what he's been able to do. And this is why
- 37:12Speaker 3: there's something to have an experience as a head coach,
- 37:15Speaker 3: because what he's been able to do is take an
- 37:17Speaker 3: assess where Russell Wilson is, how this offense needs to flow,
- 37:21Speaker 3: and make tweets along the way to get it going.
- 37:23Speaker 3: So they've rilled off with four straight wins. They're now
- 37:26Speaker 3: sending five hundred. He's done a really good job of
- 37:28Speaker 3: kind of bringing Russell Wilson back. When I look at
- 37:30Speaker 3: this offense, when I squint, it's a little bit of
- 37:33Speaker 3: the Drew Brees at the end of his career offense,
- 37:36Speaker 3: a lot of control passes, running game dependent and then
- 37:41Speaker 3: just leaning on the veteran quarterback to make just a
- 37:43Speaker 3: handful of plays each week to push them over the top.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Back to back weeks, we've seen Russell Wilson have a
- 37:50Speaker 3: game winning drive. We've seen him gain more confidence, and
- 37:52Speaker 3: we feel like the old Russell is coming back. And look,
- 37:55Speaker 3: I'll be the first one to say I felt I've
- 37:57Speaker 3: been one of his harshest critics when it comes to
- 37:59Speaker 3: his game falling off, but Sean Payton has done a
- 38:01Speaker 3: really good job of putting him in a very comfortable
- 38:04Speaker 3: environment and allowing him to kind.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Of play.
- 38:08Speaker 3: In a safe space. We'll see if they can continue
- 38:10Speaker 3: to do it. But this Broadgos team, it's a lot
- 38:14Speaker 3: different than the team that played the first four or
- 38:16Speaker 3: five weeks of the season.
- 38:18Speaker 4: I mean, shoot, they're sitting near at five, they're five
- 38:20Speaker 4: hundred right in the mix. Thought, and here's the thing,
- 38:24Speaker 4: like let's just and quickly here on this one, like
- 38:28Speaker 4: something to be said for patients in this game, man,
- 38:30Speaker 4: I mean, Sean Payton should have fired a vance Joseph
- 38:33Speaker 4: the minute of Miami game ended. Right should have fired
- 38:36Speaker 4: the defensive coordinator playing a little bit better on defense.
- 38:39Speaker 5: The last four or five weeks.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Right should have traded away Courtland Sutton and Jerry Judy.
- 38:43Speaker 4: Courtland Sutton's got a nice connection building a five straight
- 38:46Speaker 4: games a touchdown bang bang, and then Jerry Judy, you know,
- 38:50Speaker 4: five catches fifty eight yards in this game as well.
- 38:54Speaker 4: So like it has taken time, and you know, a
- 38:58Speaker 4: hat tip, you know to the ownership group there and
- 39:01Speaker 4: to the you know, front office there for exercising some
- 39:05Speaker 4: patients with how things were going to go, not fire
- 39:08Speaker 4: sailing everything, you know, at the trade deadline when they
- 39:10Speaker 4: certainly could have, right, and there was that there was
- 39:13Speaker 4: definitely that momentum towards that, but they decided to stick
- 39:16Speaker 4: it out.
- 39:16Speaker 5: And it's paying.
- 39:17Speaker 4: That dividends again with a coach who has a track
- 39:20Speaker 4: record of telling you he can do it.
- 39:22Speaker 1: So Yeah. Also, there's sign of a good coach, guys,
- 39:25Speaker 1: is when you get points before the half. That's big, man,
- 39:27Speaker 1: like just even going down there getting that field goal.
- 39:29Speaker 1: It's this it's kind of cliche or hockey like situational
- 39:33Speaker 1: mastery or whatever, like, yeah, you know what, good teams
- 39:35Speaker 1: and good quarterbacks they get those points every single time,
- 39:39Speaker 1: you know, and they don't try and do too much,
- 39:41Speaker 1: just get the field going and get some points and
- 39:44Speaker 1: off you go into the half. It's just the sign
- 39:45Speaker 1: of a well coached team to me. Teams that know
- 39:47Speaker 1: how to manage those end a half and end of
- 39:49Speaker 1: game situations. They've obviously done at the end of the
- 39:51Speaker 1: game the last couple of weeks.
- 39:53Speaker 3: They certainly have, and everyone has to be on the
- 39:55Speaker 3: same page to do it coach player for them to
- 39:58Speaker 3: kind of make the plays that they've been able to do.
- 40:01Speaker 3: I'm really kind of astonished because I did not think
- 40:03Speaker 3: that Russell still had any of that.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Left, but that's it.
- 40:06Speaker 3: On the other side, I am amazed at how much
- 40:09Speaker 3: leeway they're giving Josh Dobbs as a backup quarterback, and
- 40:13Speaker 3: I mean it is as if he has the full
- 40:15Speaker 3: complement of plays game plan. They're throwing almost every down,
- 40:20Speaker 3: and I'm like, man, I don't know if I've ever
- 40:21Speaker 3: seen a backup quarterback get this much uh leeway. Yeah,
- 40:27Speaker 3: to just kind of operate and play like a franchise quarterback.
- 40:31Speaker 3: I mean, it's a credit to him learning to the offense.
- 40:33Speaker 3: But I do wonder if take a skilly back just
- 40:35Speaker 3: a little bit and not necessarily make him the playmaker,
- 40:38Speaker 3: but a little more of the game manager.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Plus, I mean, if he just plays like this even
- 40:42Speaker 1: if they're if they don't win, Kevin's gonna he's gonna
- 40:44Speaker 1: get the Coach of the Year. He's going to be
- 40:45Speaker 1: in the running for the Coach of the Year. What
- 40:47Speaker 1: he's been able to do. I give Kevin o'connen a
- 40:49Speaker 1: lot of credit as well as Dobbs. Dobbs been has
- 40:51Speaker 1: been awesome, but Kevin's made him comfortable and they rolled there.
- 40:55Speaker 1: We've got one more game here, Buck, You've got what
- 40:57Speaker 1: you got the Raiders and Dolphins here.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Yeah, Raiders, and so this is one that you wanted
- 41:02Speaker 3: to see because you look, the Raiders had created a
- 41:05Speaker 3: little buzz, have won two straight games at home. So
- 41:07Speaker 3: now they're going to take on a big opponent and
- 41:09Speaker 3: the Miami Dolphins, and look, a very competitive game, a
- 41:12Speaker 3: game that was right there for them to take. Couldn't
- 41:14Speaker 3: make the plays, But to me, this is all about
- 41:16Speaker 3: the Dolphins. And normally I come in talk about the
- 41:18Speaker 3: Dolphins offense, which is always remarkable, like Tyreek Hill is
- 41:22Speaker 3: him hydro forty six receiving yards, did a really good
- 41:25Speaker 3: job of making plays.
- 41:27Speaker 2: But this defense is kind of rounding into form. Oh,
- 41:32Speaker 2: Jalen Ramsey coming back as interceptions in the two tail weeks. Yeah,
- 41:37Speaker 2: like Jalen Phillips driven him, teaming up with Bradley Chubb
- 41:41Speaker 2: giving him the pass rush to go with the coverage.
- 41:44Speaker 2: And it's a team that you know, they hadn't beat
- 41:47Speaker 2: any heavyweights, but they're sitting in a perfect spot where
- 41:50Speaker 2: they could swipe the number one seed. It's the Kansas
- 41:52Speaker 2: City the Chiefs falter and then all roads go through
- 41:55Speaker 2: South Florida with a defense that's really beginning to kind
- 41:58Speaker 2: of come into his own under Vic fangioll. This defense
- 42:01Speaker 2: look like it's going to be one of those tough
- 42:03Speaker 2: defenses down to stretch. Could be a very very difficult
- 42:06Speaker 2: team to face because you can't keep up with the
- 42:07Speaker 2: offense and then defensively they get in turnovers. Very problematic
- 42:11Speaker 2: for the opponents in the AFC.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's you know, it's a big win for them.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I actually had a little bit of a premonition that
- 42:19Speaker 1: the Raiders might keep this close. I think it's an
- 42:21Speaker 1: easy game to overlook. I know the Raiders have won
- 42:23Speaker 1: a couple games, but you're the Dolphins and you're kind
- 42:25Speaker 1: of going through your schedule and that one doesn't really
- 42:27Speaker 1: pop right, and you got Aidan O'Connell out there. So
- 42:30Speaker 1: it was kind of one of those muddy, ugly games.
- 42:32Speaker 1: But you got to find a way to win those
- 42:33Speaker 1: games when you're not necessarily playing your best. And offensively
- 42:37Speaker 1: they weren't at their best, but the defense bailed them out.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Battle is big, Yeah, yeah, so you pick them off
- 42:42Speaker 1: three times. That helps Rhett on any of these other
- 42:45Speaker 1: games here, Giants, Commanders, Cowboys, Panthers, Jets, Bills was a
- 42:49Speaker 1: thrashing and then Seahawks Rams ended up being a great game.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Any comments, any nuggets on any of those.
- 42:55Speaker 4: Panthers fans are overly attached to Brian Burns. I don't
- 42:59Speaker 4: know if you guys read your comments.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Us.
- 43:04Speaker 1: They did not want you trading Brian Burns.
- 43:06Speaker 5: They did not want to traden Brian Burns.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Guys.
- 43:08Speaker 4: And I just say, like, if you're Panthers fanning, you
- 43:10Speaker 4: watched the end of that game where you know it went.
- 43:13Speaker 5: From bad to worse like that for the Rice.
- 43:16Speaker 4: Young in the offense, you're like, guys, I mean like,
- 43:18Speaker 4: I don't know how many more offensive coordinators you want
- 43:20Speaker 4: to how many more play callers do you want to
- 43:22Speaker 4: put in here? Give Josh mccounter run. It's the same
- 43:25Speaker 4: guys out there, you know, and and so like it's
- 43:28Speaker 4: it's just it's time for them to start figuring out
- 43:30Speaker 4: that playing forward to help help out on offense. And
- 43:34Speaker 4: the thing I'll say on the bills, they had fun
- 43:36Speaker 4: playing offense, which I don't know that we could say
- 43:39Speaker 4: that for the last you know, ten weeks, like everything
- 43:42Speaker 4: looked like it was hard.
- 43:43Speaker 5: You're always fighting, scratching and cross klawn.
- 43:46Speaker 4: In this game, it just it felt like things it
- 43:48Speaker 4: just felt a little bit more natural. And I think
- 43:51Speaker 4: that's not just on coordinator change. I think that's mentality
- 43:54Speaker 4: change from the quarterback and from the associated weapons out
- 43:57Speaker 4: there to get that thing together and understand how they
- 43:59Speaker 4: want to attack. And it obviously paid big definitds.
- 44:03Speaker 1: I didn't see that game, either of you guys. Buck
- 44:06Speaker 1: did did Joe Brady take his notebook and slam it
- 44:08Speaker 1: on the ground and start punching it in the press spot?
- 44:11Speaker 3: He didn't give us the couple, but he had a
- 44:15Speaker 3: he had a couple of fist pumps.
- 44:17Speaker 2: He was a little excited. Uh, they got it going.
- 44:20Speaker 3: And look, he did a really good job of just
- 44:22Speaker 3: kind of keeping as simple man. Look, his players not plays.
- 44:25Speaker 3: He put the ball in the hands of the best playmakers.
- 44:27Speaker 3: They made plays, and those things the thing that I am.
- 44:31Speaker 3: I guess I can't understand this when people are watching
- 44:34Speaker 3: the Jets, I can't understand, like, why all the conversation
- 44:39Speaker 3: is centered on the quarterback. Their their office is terrible
- 44:44Speaker 3: up front, It's terrible, and I don't know if anyone
- 44:48Speaker 3: could could thrive in that situation. I'm not saying is
- 44:52Speaker 3: zach which is going to amount to anything, but man,
- 44:54Speaker 3: I just feel like he has been the punching bag
- 44:57Speaker 3: that has allowed people to ignore all the other stuff
- 45:00Speaker 3: that is really plaguing this team.
- 45:02Speaker 2: This team offensively is bad and they're not going to
- 45:06Speaker 2: win games no matter who you tried out there. Joe
- 45:08Speaker 2: Names could come back, but they're not going to be
- 45:10Speaker 2: any better until they change.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Here's here's here's my question. It is baffling to me
- 45:16Speaker 1: in that in that market in the last twenty I
- 45:21Speaker 1: was maybe you can even go back thirty years outside
- 45:24Speaker 1: of Eli Manning, who by the way, had a bumpy ride,
- 45:27Speaker 1: you know, if not for you know what he did
- 45:29Speaker 1: in the postseason. Tell me the guy that's had developed
- 45:32Speaker 1: and had any staying power there. They eat their own
- 45:35Speaker 1: at the quarterback position in that market for the Jets
- 45:37Speaker 1: and the Giants. I'm tell me who the like Mark
- 45:40Speaker 1: Santez had a little blip and then he was gone gone.
- 45:43Speaker 1: It's so to me, it's it's it's almost a from
- 45:47Speaker 1: a team building philosophy, it's almost like, hey, we're just
- 45:50Speaker 1: gonna bring in the veterans. We're gonna we're gonna overpay
- 45:52Speaker 1: if we have to trade for one, if we're gonna
- 45:53Speaker 1: do whatever. But we got to have somebody who's got
- 45:55Speaker 1: some credibility because it turns on it's just such an
- 45:59Speaker 1: eas escapegoat and it's like, ah, look at this, you
- 46:02Speaker 1: know this, this one dumb play and then he's the
- 46:05Speaker 1: worst player of all time and they're like, I get it.
- 46:07Speaker 1: They can't score points, they cannot score points, and Zach
- 46:10Speaker 1: Wilson is not good, He's not played good. I don't
- 46:12Speaker 1: know that he's the answer. I think he might be,
- 46:14Speaker 1: you know, ruined, and you can, you can, you can
- 46:17Speaker 1: get a million different opinions if you talk to people
- 46:19Speaker 1: in the football space about who's you know, who's responsible
- 46:22Speaker 1: for why he's been as bad as he is. But
- 46:25Speaker 1: I think if you open your eyes and look at it,
- 46:28Speaker 1: you can say they cannot protect. They cannot run the ball.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Every time. I mean, I'm always flying. I feel like
- 46:34Speaker 1: when these games are going on, and I feel like
- 46:36Speaker 1: I always look down at box scores, I'm like, oh
- 46:38Speaker 1: my gosh, Dak Wilson's lead him and rushing again, Like
- 46:40Speaker 1: they can't run the ball, so you can't pass protect,
- 46:43Speaker 1: you can't run the ball, they can't catch, they have
- 46:46Speaker 1: drops every week. I'm sure I didn't even see this one,
- 46:48Speaker 1: but I'm sure there were and and without without pause,
- 46:51Speaker 1: I can guarantee you there's a handful of dumb penalties
- 46:54Speaker 1: because they're good for a handful of those every week.
- 46:56Speaker 1: So I mean, and Zach Wilson. You know, look, I'm
- 46:59Speaker 1: almost like waving the white flag on that, like, hey,
- 47:02Speaker 1: you got you guys win. You want to move on
- 47:04Speaker 1: from Zack Wilson, move on from Zach Wilson. I'm fine.
- 47:06Speaker 1: I'm not going to fight that fight anymore. But if
- 47:08Speaker 1: you think that this is the that that is the
- 47:10Speaker 1: singular issue with this offense, you are not being honest
- 47:13Speaker 1: with yourself. There is that? Is that enough? I wouldn't
- 47:18Speaker 1: even want to talk about them today because it's just
- 47:20Speaker 1: like a watch watch.
- 47:22Speaker 3: They're they're really really really hard to watch, really hard.
- 47:26Speaker 1: To It's not an easy watch on your eyes for sure.
- 47:29Speaker 1: All Right, that's going to do it for us today.
- 47:30Speaker 1: It's a fun episode, some interesting games. We have got
- 47:33Speaker 1: a banger coming up tonight, Game of the week really
- 47:36Speaker 1: Monday Night. We've got the Chiefs, We've got the Eagles.
- 47:38Speaker 1: We will dig into that tomorrow, break that one down
- 47:41Speaker 1: for you, and we will have shows each and every
- 47:43Speaker 1: day this week. Given those Thanksgiving we will record, record
- 47:46Speaker 1: a little bit and we'll have five for you coming.
- 47:48Speaker 1: So we appreciate you. And by the way, he'll love this.
- 47:51Speaker 1: I uh I always print out our notes and our
- 47:54Speaker 1: rundown and everything, so apparently on the printer I added
- 47:58Speaker 1: an extra page which was not that which is the
- 48:01Speaker 1: buck you'll like this, which is for the Rouths. Yes, yes, yeah,
- 48:11Speaker 1: very good. Yeah, but big Ruth Chris guy, so I
- 48:14Speaker 1: know he would love that. Anyways, we'll get that cast
- 48:17Speaker 1: role done. We'll get that done for Thanksgiving. All right,
- 48:20Speaker 1: We'll see you next time. Right here, unmove the sticks.
