- 0:00Speaker 1: No much more. Mark mark someone now nine till noon
- 0:05Speaker 1: weekdays on sevent ten, w o R. Well, let's take
- 0:10Speaker 1: some calls. Let's go to uh Bill and Idaho? Bill?
- 0:14Speaker 1: How you doing?
- 0:16Speaker 2: I mark its? Uh go from Idaho. You've seem to
- 0:19Speaker 2: call me your books for some reason.
- 0:22Speaker 1: But ah, I don't know.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Anyway, it's over at the Iron North Tavern.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Yesterday, well.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Day, uh huh.
- 0:35Speaker 2: And uh you know, I excused myself to go to
- 0:38Speaker 2: the little boys.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Room, uh huh.
- 0:40Speaker 2: And when I came back, he said, uh, did you
- 0:45Speaker 2: wash your hands?
- 0:46Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:48Speaker 2: You ever heard this?
- 0:49Speaker 1: This is the hell of a story.
- 0:51Speaker 3: All the edu did you was your hands?
- 0:53Speaker 2: And I said, no, I just touched the cleanest part
- 0:56Speaker 2: of my body. Why would I wash my hands?
- 0:59Speaker 1: But it turns yeah, I'm sure it is clean. It's
- 1:01Speaker 1: never been used. I'm sure it's very clean.
- 1:04Speaker 2: That's true. And then the other thing is that I
- 1:07Speaker 2: was talking as urologists and he said, and this is
- 1:10Speaker 2: the big moment, drum roll, you should wash your hands
- 1:14Speaker 2: when you go in to the little boys room before
- 1:19Speaker 2: because you're touching. So this is revolutionary.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Yeah, don't worry about it. Nobody else is going to
- 1:25Speaker 1: touch it. What's the difference if it's sturdy or anyway,
- 1:28Speaker 1: build a hell of a story. Thanks for slowing us
- 1:31Speaker 1: up here. Anyway, Let's go to Dennis in Long Island. Dennis,
- 1:35Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I'm doing well.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Good morning Moore.
- 1:38Speaker 4: You had mentioned that you had walked through the.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Old Carnegie Deli with Don Rickles. I mean, the question
- 1:43Speaker 2: is what was Don Rickles.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Like Don Rickles? And in real life, if anybody was around,
- 1:49Speaker 1: he was Don Rickles, he'd insult them me and make
- 1:51Speaker 1: fun of him. But if nobody was around, he was
- 1:54Speaker 1: the quietest, nicest gentle guy, very very cool, and he
- 1:58Speaker 1: and his wife were like the most non show business
- 2:01Speaker 1: people ever. They were like two tourists in New York
- 2:04Speaker 1: going to Broadway shows. And that's one reason he and
- 2:07Speaker 1: Bob Newhart were so close. They were totally non show business.
- 2:10Speaker 1: In real life. They were just like normal family men
- 2:13Speaker 1: and that's why they got along so well. But as
- 2:17Speaker 1: soon as you put them on the radio, boom, it
- 2:20Speaker 1: was really kind of an act. I remember once walking
- 2:22Speaker 1: into it was Frank Sinatra's apartment and Rickles said to Tonio,
- 2:28Speaker 1: the guy who's let everybody in, And he said, is
- 2:32Speaker 1: sure it's okay? You sure? It's okay. Are you sure?
- 2:36Speaker 1: It was very nervous, and he said, no, no, go in.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Are you sure as youre it's okay, Yeah, go on in.
- 2:41Speaker 1: As soon as he walked in and saw Sinatra, it
- 2:43Speaker 1: was Rickles and he went Frank, snap out of it,
- 2:45Speaker 1: and it just started attacking him. He could just turn
- 2:47Speaker 1: it on and off. It was amazing to watch. Let's
- 2:50Speaker 1: go to Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing?
- 2:52Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark? Yes, Mike, did you have a standing
- 2:56Speaker 3: order at the Carnegie anything that you preferred to order
- 2:59Speaker 3: on a regular basis?
- 3:01Speaker 1: You know, I can't remember because on the menu the
- 3:04Speaker 1: big sandwiches all had numbers. It was like a number twelve,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and number three and number six. It was. They were
- 3:11Speaker 1: best known for the pastromi, the coinbry, but I didn't
- 3:13Speaker 1: eat that too mutually. It wasn't the healthiest thing. But oh,
- 3:15Speaker 1: I actually remember it was turkey. It was like a
- 3:20Speaker 1: turkey with Coleslaw, Russian dressing, that kind of stuff. Not bad.
- 3:25Speaker 3: That's only like two thousand calories opposed to a postami,
- 3:28Speaker 3: which is like seven thousand.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Well, the reason they gave you those the sandwiches were
- 3:32Speaker 1: like a foot and a half high. It was ridiculous.
- 3:34Speaker 1: You couldn't eat it, you couldn't get in your mouth.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It made no sense. But the reason they did that,
- 3:39Speaker 1: Leo the owner, explained it to me once. He goes,
- 3:42Speaker 1: We're basically giving you two sandwiches, and that way you
- 3:45Speaker 1: can charge you for two sandwiches, even though you're really
- 3:47Speaker 1: a long one. So it was a great idea. And
- 3:50Speaker 1: it was if you were a big VIP customer, if
- 3:54Speaker 1: they really knew you and loved you, because everybody had
- 3:57Speaker 1: paper napkins. The waiter would give you, the host would
- 4:00Speaker 1: give you a linen napkin, a white linen.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Boy, how you knew you arrived.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah. And then I remember at the funeral of Leo
- 4:07Speaker 1: stein Or, the owner, Don Hewitt was speaking, and Don
- 4:11Speaker 1: Hewitt got up and he said, I've won fifteen Emmys,
- 4:14Speaker 1: I've worked with ten presidents, I've produced sixty minutes. He goes,
- 4:18Speaker 1: But and then he pulled out the one white linen
- 4:21Speaker 1: nap and he goes, this is the most important thing
- 4:24Speaker 1: to me. This is when I knew I arrived when
- 4:26Speaker 1: I got a white linen napkin there.
- 4:28Speaker 3: And I wanted to I just on another subject. I
- 4:31Speaker 3: just wanted to point out about these socialists, you know,
- 4:34Speaker 3: like to sing in Florida that woman beating Vinman. Yeah,
- 4:37Speaker 3: you know, it's a very clever tactic. And you pointed
- 4:39Speaker 3: this out with Mandanni and Croomo. There's no difference between
- 4:42Speaker 3: the two. If Mondannie gets in, yeah, okay, that's that's
- 4:46Speaker 3: that's cherry on the you know, that's the cherry on
- 4:48Speaker 3: the Sunday. But if Cromo got and they wouldn't cry
- 4:51Speaker 3: the left wing because he's just as bad, if not worse,
- 4:54Speaker 3: because it's more covert, and it's just saying that's what
- 4:57Speaker 3: they're doing. They're putting up one nut against a lesser nut.
- 5:00Speaker 3: The lesser nut wins, loses, and the Republicans think, oh okay,
- 5:05Speaker 3: you know we got them right on the ropes. Now
- 5:06Speaker 3: we got the real ballunatic. And they have to be
- 5:08Speaker 3: careful because the left takes one victory as it doesn't
- 5:13Speaker 3: you know, they don't have to win everything. They can
- 5:14Speaker 3: win one little thing at a time and be very happy.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Yeah. I remember when they worry about mom Donnie running things.
- 5:20Speaker 1: You had a mom Donni for years. Cuomo was mom Donnie.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Cuomo was the guy that gave us no bail. No jail.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Cuomo was the first guy that pushed the pieda terror attacks.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Everything mom Donni does, Cuomo did.
- 5:33Speaker 4: He was.
- 5:33Speaker 1: He closed Indian Point, he was the he closed prisons,
- 5:37Speaker 1: He let prisoners out. He changed the parole board so
- 5:40Speaker 1: they let everybody out, including forty three cop killers. Cuomo
- 5:43Speaker 1: was the most left wing, woke governor. We survived him, well,
- 5:48Speaker 1: we got it. We got a crime wave out of
- 5:50Speaker 1: him with the no bail, no jail.
- 5:51Speaker 3: But uh well, no his you know, those things will
- 5:55Speaker 3: you know, they have repercussions for you know, for years.
- 5:58Speaker 3: I mean, they don't end, you know, the day somebody,
- 6:00Speaker 3: you know, you know, a Republican gets in God forbid
- 6:03Speaker 3: in New York. Yeah, Blakeman, you know, God bless him,
- 6:06Speaker 3: you know, but you know he's not going to be
- 6:07Speaker 3: able to end these things on day one. It's going
- 6:09Speaker 3: to be very difficult. You know.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Blakeman's pretty good at turning hi oh.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, He's got the temerity to do it, no
- 6:16Speaker 3: doubt about it, just like Trump. But it's you know,
- 6:18Speaker 3: we see with Trump, he's the president and he's it's
- 6:21Speaker 3: it's the tooth and nail every time he tries.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Blakeman did make a big difference in NWSA County. Stopped
- 6:26Speaker 1: the tax increases, stopped all that stuff. Yes, all right, Michael,
- 6:29Speaker 1: Hey you're in. Are you in northern Florida?
- 6:32Speaker 3: No, I'm in just above Palm Beach. I'm about forty
- 6:35Speaker 3: minutes from north of Palm Beach and Lucy.
- 6:38Speaker 1: When you got up that far away from Miami. There's
- 6:40Speaker 1: still a good Cuban population around, isn't there.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Uh?
- 6:43Speaker 3: You know what, the population here has become very Caribbean
- 6:47Speaker 3: and in the last few years. Yeah, but you know,
- 6:50Speaker 3: I don't know where they stand as far as loading goes.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Well, you can count on the Cuban population not to
- 6:55Speaker 1: vote for a socialist. They know what socialism is, so
- 6:58Speaker 1: I hope.
- 6:58Speaker 3: So I'm putting putting out of eggs in that basket,
- 7:01Speaker 3: and I think you're right.
- 7:03Speaker 1: All right, Mike, great call is always, Thanks for calling.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Let's go to Charlie and Queen's Charlie.
- 7:08Speaker 4: How you doing, Hi, Mark, Thank you very much for
- 7:12Speaker 4: taking the call. I'm a retired US Navy Chief Petty
- 7:16Speaker 4: Officers that served that served on the in my twenty
- 7:22Speaker 4: four year career from Vietnam all the way up until
- 7:25Speaker 4: the Desert Storm. I have been on several aircraft carriers,
- 7:29Speaker 4: and let me tell your life on an aircraft carrier
- 7:32Speaker 4: compared to the other ships that escort us in the
- 7:36Speaker 4: in the battle group. We're talking about a destroyer, a cruiser,
- 7:39Speaker 4: or supply ship. It's like being in the Hilton Hotel.
- 7:43Speaker 4: There is nothing wrong with that ship. It's spotlessly, it's clean.
- 7:48Speaker 4: The decks are swept, swapped, polished, the brass is polished.
- 7:54Speaker 4: As far as food replenishment, every every every forty five minimum,
- 8:01Speaker 4: you have a supply ship that pulls alongside of us
- 8:05Speaker 4: as we're underway, reloading fuel, soda, fruits, meats, letters. So
- 8:13Speaker 4: that story of the Abraham Lincoln being in such a
- 8:18Speaker 4: bay condition, you can't have that because you have a
- 8:21Speaker 4: daily inspection. You have a weekly quarters inspection. Your bunks
- 8:27Speaker 4: have to be made. So it's another another fake news
- 8:34Speaker 4: in order to bring down the quality of the United
- 8:37Speaker 4: States military by these radicals.
- 8:40Speaker 1: It's a way to attack Trump. This poor ship is
- 8:42Speaker 1: out there two hundred days, if you check, the average
- 8:45Speaker 1: time of ship is out there two hundred and twenty days.
- 8:47Speaker 4: So exactly, let me tell Let me tell you I
- 8:51Speaker 4: was off the coast during the Vietnam days. We were
- 8:54Speaker 4: off the coast eight We were off the coast eight months.
- 8:58Speaker 4: And then the next time when we were on Kennedy,
- 9:01Speaker 4: off the coast of Lebanon, when you had that crazy
- 9:04Speaker 4: Kadafi who sent the two jets out to get us,
- 9:10Speaker 4: we were there. We were there at that time almost
- 9:13Speaker 4: six months. Shire six months.
- 9:16Speaker 1: All right, Well, that's very good, very good information, Charlie,
- 9:19Speaker 1: great call. Yeah, it's perfectly normal for an aircraft carrier
- 9:22Speaker 1: to be out there that long. Hey, when we come back,
- 9:24Speaker 1: the brilliant business writer, economist nobody better on they trying
- 9:29Speaker 1: to convince it the economy as a mess. It's doing
- 9:32Speaker 1: really well, and he'll give us the facts. Coming up
- 9:35Speaker 1: next on seven to ten w R
