Transcript
- 0:00Hi, everyone. I am Mary Meyer, and I am the host of Healthy,
- 0:03Happy, Wise, and Wealthy. And this is our premier, very
- 0:07first podcast. I'm so excited to have these ladies in
- 0:11the room with me. So I actually have with me another three
- 0:15podcasters. And Kara Stoltenberg has
- 0:18written a book, and so has Jaclyn Strominger. And Erika
- 0:22Christie is the brains behind this operation, and
- 0:26I don't know what I'd really do without her there. I wouldn't attempt to do
- 0:29a podcast. So the whole basis of this podcast is about
- 0:33talking through things that, you know, in life, we all want to be
- 0:37healthy, we want to be happy, we want to be wise, we want to be
- 0:39wealthy. But a lot of things happen in life where it. It can get
- 0:43derailed. So I am way more interested in talking to
- 0:47people that have lived through some stuff and know some things
- 0:51and, and what we can learn from that. So we're gonna, we're gonna do that
- 0:54tonight. And so Erika
- 0:57Christie, she is magic in my
- 1:01mind. So being an actor and someone who's done hosting,
- 1:04the. The thing that you have to have is someone who knows
- 1:08all the stuff behind the camera and, and all the
- 1:12stuff that I don't even know the words for. So it's like
- 1:16I'm not nearly as wise as she is. So Erika, I adore her.
- 1:20Erika is in Atlanta, though, and I've worked with her on
- 1:24ATL Live and some other things, so that's super fun. Okay.
- 1:28And the other ones. So Jaclyn Strominger, she's next on our list right here. So
- 1:31I have now moved to Reno. These are my ladies from three different cities. Erika's
- 1:35in Atlanta, Jaclyn and Reno, and Kara in Franklin,
- 1:39Tennessee. In Tennessee, near Nashville. So Jaclyn Strominger I
- 1:43met after moving here to Reno last year. She is a high performance business
- 1:46coach with the Missing Link network. And she has
- 1:50just in the last week gotten her first book, which
- 1:54I'm super excited that she co wrote, and I'm so excited about
- 1:57that for her. Kara Stoltenberg is a
- 2:01dear, dear friend who I have done so much work
- 2:04with myself over the years for doing
- 2:08healing work from Lyme's disease and other things. And she has
- 2:12probably with the. One of the biggest wealth of knowledge that I think
- 2:16I on this planet in terms of just the
- 2:19things that, that she knows and
- 2:23how she helps people and the wisdom that she has. So
- 2:27both Jaclyn and Kara have some really cool podcasts,
- 2:30and Erika, of course, too, has one that's just gonna. That is very helpful
- 2:34to. For teaching people all the stuff to know behind the camera and making things
- 2:37happen. So I would love for you guys to
- 2:41just say a couple things. Erika didn't necessarily want to be on this whole
- 2:45thing, but if she wants to say a couple things. And then Jaclyn and
- 2:48Kara, I would love for you guys to just kind of introduce yourself and kind
- 2:52of just tell us a little bit about your podcast, and
- 2:55we'll start with the podcast and then we'll go with the other stuff. Yeah, I'll
- 2:58just say hi to everybody real quick. Mary is amazing. I'm
- 3:02really, really excited that the two. Of you are going to be on. This show,
- 3:06and I'm really interested to hear the Golden
- 3:09Nuggets. I'm going to say that Mary's going. To get out of you on the
- 3:12show, so best of luck and really looking forward to hearing this great
- 3:16conversation. There's so much I want to ask
- 3:19you guys. So, like, let's just start with Jaclyn. Tell us
- 3:23about. Because I'm just starting this podcast, right? So
- 3:27I'm new, and I want people who are listening to go.
- 3:31If I'm starting a podcast, why would I start
- 3:34it? What would be the benefit of it, and why would I do
- 3:38it? Okay, so. All right, so I'm so excited. Mary
- 3:42and Kara, it's so great to meet you. So
- 3:45podcasting first, my podcast, Unstoppable
- 3:49Leadership Spotlight podcast, I started
- 3:53it. My first episode was in September of
- 3:562024, and I jumped into
- 4:00podcasting for a couple of different reasons. Reasons one
- 4:03was I'm. I love networking and I love meeting people. So that was sort of,
- 4:07number one, it was a great way to meet people. Number two, it is
- 4:11a great way to create authority in your business and
- 4:14to get your name out there and to use
- 4:18your podcast as a way to also
- 4:22meet people that could either introduce you to people
- 4:26or potentially create leads for your
- 4:29business. Right. It's a great. It's a great avenue.
- 4:33And the other kind of key
- 4:37reason for me also was I have a huge passion for
- 4:41helping people. And I, you know, it's called my podcast again, it's
- 4:44Unstoppable Leadership Spotlight. It's to help create great
- 4:48leaders in the world. Because I am a firm believer if we have
- 4:52great leaders out there, that maybe we would have more people
- 4:56that would want to, instead of running away from
- 5:00companies, want to run towards companies and to have happier
- 5:04people out there because you, you know, so many people leave their job or leave
- 5:07their, you know, their end of the day, and they're like, oh, my God, I
- 5:11hate where I'm working. And nine times out of 10, I hate to say it,
- 5:14it's leadership. So if we could make happier and better leaders,
- 5:18maybe we'd have happier and happier people. Right? So.
- 5:22Right. And you know, I'll just,
- 5:26I'll share that. My journey going into podcasting, I started
- 5:29being a guest and there's a couple of different sites that I, you know, I
- 5:32could recommend. You can let me know if you want me to do that, that
- 5:35you could go to to get your name on there to be a guest. And
- 5:39it was through guesting that I got comfortable. And then I was like, I think
- 5:42I want to have my own. And
- 5:46so I personally started using something called Matchmaker
- 5:49fm and then I started using something called Pod
- 5:53Match. And I love
- 5:57between the two of those and there's other ones out there and there's lots of
- 5:59places that you can go on Facebook and LinkedIn and
- 6:03social whatever to get matched. But what
- 6:07I found that I liked about PodMatch was that it actually acts like a dating
- 6:10site in a way where it actually connects you with different people. And
- 6:14as a host, you actually get paid. Right. That's
- 6:18awesome. And they are not sponsoring us, me
- 6:22yet or anyone. And. But soon, soon. No, I'm just
- 6:25kidding. Kara, tell us, tell us about you. Yeah,
- 6:29thanks for having me. I am so excited for you in this new
- 6:33endeavor as yours is a voice that will be
- 6:36beautiful and wonderful in the world and I'm excited
- 6:40to be part of your launch into this podcasting
- 6:44journey. I launched my podcast
- 6:48in on January 11 last year,
- 6:512024. So we have been going strong for a year and
- 6:55at the end of the year, the celebration of like, we
- 6:58are still going strong and season three is coming and it's
- 7:02happening now. Such a great feeling
- 7:06for me. Um, I had a major life
- 7:10change. So I've been coaching for nearly two decades
- 7:14and it's been seven years ago. I was in a
- 7:17hit and run accident that, you know, I was on my bike and I was
- 7:21in a hit and run accident and it completely
- 7:24changed my life and I did not work at all for two
- 7:28years. And then after that started coaching
- 7:31slowly and realized, oh, I'm not going to be able to
- 7:35just one on one coach people and full time work the way
- 7:39I was. So I began to ask with my arms
- 7:43open, show me what I can do
- 7:47that allows me to bring my gifts and offerings into the
- 7:51world in a different way and works for my
- 7:55brain because I have a brain injury, as you know, Mary,
- 7:59and allows me to make a living while making an
- 8:03Impact, maybe making an impact is my most important thing. I know that's the
- 8:06thing that drives me more than anything. But we all also have to make
- 8:10a living. So that was the beginning, I guess.
- 8:14As I continued to ask that question. Podcasting was something that
- 8:18I always wanted to do, even before my accident. It was
- 8:21something on my desired list. It's something that I.
- 8:25I really enjoy speaking to people.
- 8:30My podcast is called Stepping in with Kara. And
- 8:33stepping in was the name that I chose, because what I
- 8:37do, what is my superpower, is stepping in with
- 8:41people, holding space for people for their
- 8:44story and drawing them deeper into that story.
- 8:48And this is what I do in my coaching and help people, you know, find
- 8:52liberation from, you know, things that have happened, circumstances in
- 8:56their lives, to become, you know, truly
- 8:59okay, right where they are and find a way to
- 9:03navigate to the best and brightest as they continue moving
- 9:06forward. So what I. What I found in my journey,
- 9:10especially after my accident, was, you know, kind of being an
- 9:14author, a coach,
- 9:17and just being in the world where the frame
- 9:21is always the hero's journey, and being on
- 9:25this, you know, trajectory of healing, where
- 9:29my own. I just kept feeling like I
- 9:32don't feel like the hero of my story, and I didn't
- 9:36like that feeling. And I kept trying to be the hero, like, and then you
- 9:40got to this place and then you did this. And, you know, I've just been
- 9:44in a really long story that's still going, and
- 9:47it's. It's still frustrating, and I. I feel like that's life.
- 9:52And so I wanted to have a podcast that
- 9:56rather than, like, and now I've got it all wrapped up, and here's the bow.
- 9:59And looking back, here's how that was. I really like to step into
- 10:03stories, even if they are something that's happened in the past, and go deep
- 10:07into the vulnerable spaces that all of us as humans
- 10:11can relate to and be encouraged by and inspired by
- 10:14one another, because there's so much common ground
- 10:18in, you know, the triumphs, but also the struggles
- 10:22of life. And I. I love, you
- 10:25know, meeting people, as Jaclyn was talking
- 10:29about, like, it's been an amazing opportunity
- 10:33to be able to connect with
- 10:37others in their journey. And I. I
- 10:40have absolutely loved the response from other people, like,
- 10:44oh, my gosh, I so related to that person, even though I've never been in
- 10:48those circumstances, like, just those. Those little nuggets that are
- 10:52just humanity, and we can share those.
- 10:55So. Yes. And
- 10:59one of the things that I. I love about having you both on here
- 11:03is that you know, I know you both very well, which is why I asked
- 11:05you to be on here with me, because I so appreciate it. I'm like, I
- 11:09just have to get started and. And do that. So. And sometimes
- 11:13that's what you do, right? When you're starting something new,
- 11:18the different personalities show through. So, And. And
- 11:21with you both also, I described you guys today as
- 11:25almost like two wings on a bird. So where, you know,
- 11:29Kara is, you're very incredibly gifted
- 11:33at taking people into their story and. And helping
- 11:36them heal in the places they need to. And Jaclyn is so very good
- 11:40at. At making sure, like, you want to build something
- 11:44that you get your ass in gear, you know,
- 11:47you send. You start building. So it kind of depends.
- 11:51And it's like, you know, being able to find, like, and
- 11:55we, I think, you know, and anyone listening to, it's like we have. We have
- 11:58our voice. You know, we have our voice in the world, and our voice sounds
- 12:01different than other people's voices. Right? And I, for me,
- 12:05I know I will look at someone who's a leader and go, they're
- 12:08amazing. And how do I make myself be like
- 12:11them when in reality, you know, our voices
- 12:15are. Are what they're supposed to be for a reason, because we have a specific
- 12:18thing that we're doing, and it's very good, and it's very helpful.
- 12:21So, you know, and
- 12:25that's what I love about both of you so, so much.
- 12:28You're both so good at what you do. So.
- 12:33And on that note, um, let's ask. I wanted to ask, like, a little
- 12:37bit, like, you guys both do coaching. So, like, when you. So this is a
- 12:40question for both of you. And again, it's going to be, like, completely
- 12:44two very different things. But when you guys take on a client to
- 12:48coach them and you're working with someone,
- 12:52what kind of. What's kind of your methodology? What are you thinking
- 12:56about? What things are you looking at in them that. To
- 13:00help them move forward? Okay. Well, first of all,
- 13:03I just have to say this is so great. And I, again, like, I'm so
- 13:07honored to be on here with you, but something that you, you know, saying,
- 13:11getting started, it was actually one of the things that I just shared.
- 13:15We all. We can't necessarily wait for perfection and to have everything,
- 13:19all. Everything lined up. We. Sometimes you just have to go,
- 13:22right? So I'm so excited for you to go.
- 13:29So looking at my clients, I mean, I look at clients very
- 13:33differently, but one of the biggest things that I walk my clients
- 13:36through, and every one of them is that I do look at
- 13:41them where they are in all different aspects of their lives.
- 13:45You know, I'm a big believer in using, whether
- 13:49you call it the circle of life or the wheel of life. I love looking
- 13:52at that and looking at the eight different. Eight different components that. What,
- 13:56you know, what make up parts of
- 13:59our lives. Right. And then breaking that down and looking really at a
- 14:03lot of core key values and what. What drives people. And then I'm
- 14:07looking at what they're looking at, what their goals are and where they want to
- 14:10go, and really kind of honing in on their mission and their vision, and we're
- 14:14taking it and applying those into
- 14:17action plans, because everybody does have a set goal, and if
- 14:21we want to move forward. What are those. What are those personal?
- 14:25You know, what's the personal mission and goal and what is the
- 14:29business goal and mission? And we're creating
- 14:32intentions, you know, on both personal and business. And we're
- 14:36focusing in. We pick two. Can't pick too
- 14:39many. But really honing in on what those are
- 14:43and. And then looking at what people are going through and really want to
- 14:47find out either what's stopping them, blocking them, what's getting in their
- 14:51way, what are some of those fears?
- 14:54Because all of those things come out and then helping
- 14:58them with processes, particularly in business, to, as I love to say,
- 15:02what are those two steps that they need to take each day to move
- 15:05forward? Right.
- 15:09Yeah, for sure. And I've. And I've done coaching with both of you, so, like,
- 15:13you both are my friends, but, you know, I've most recently, like,
- 15:17my thing just moved. That was fun.
- 15:21This is my first time doing a podcast. Not my first time in front of
- 15:25a camera, but, you know, doing a podcast.
- 15:29But when, you know, most recently with Jaclyn. So we were talking through business
- 15:33stuff and what's going on with that, and, like, the. The feedback I got was
- 15:37like, okay, this is really helpful. This is definitely the next step I need to
- 15:40do for sure. And I do think there's those. We just have stages in
- 15:44our life where we need both things. I know when I met Kara. Well, I
- 15:47didn't meet. Just meet you. I had known you before this, but when I started
- 15:50working with you, like, I was not healthy at all, and I was not
- 15:54physically healthy. I don't even think I realized how not physically healthy I was. And
- 15:57you were doing more health coaching. We'll call it coaching.
- 16:01I mean, you're doing your health magic back then. I don't even know
- 16:05all the words. And then it became more Of a
- 16:10emotional and then spiritual, spiritual and. And
- 16:13you know, the, all the, all the different aspects of that too. So I'm
- 16:17a cara that kind of question. So when you take on now
- 16:21what you're doing right now. So when you work with someone, what do you, what
- 16:24do you look for? Yeah, and I, I have
- 16:27move shifted more into like spiritual life coaching and
- 16:31mentorship as opposed to health coaching. But I mean,
- 16:35tried taking someone out of the health realm after spending, you know, a
- 16:38decade in it. I'm always listening for that. But
- 16:42I think for me, I also
- 16:46wanted to tag on. One of my favorite mantras is action brings clarity.
- 16:50So you just diving in and like taking the action, like it'll all become
- 16:54clear for me.
- 16:57I'm listening. Like my brain hears
- 17:01connections between I,
- 17:05family programming,
- 17:10energy blocks. I do a lot of work with energy, hygiene
- 17:14and just energy in the body. And
- 17:17I used to work with that in terms of the physical body. I still
- 17:21will bring people into their physical body, their somatic, you know,
- 17:25experience and consider, you know,
- 17:29how emotions are showing up in the body. Where emotions are showing up
- 17:33in the body. I do a lot of
- 17:37inner child work with people. I can hear when
- 17:40someone's talking to me and, and they're expressing and they share
- 17:44something, like make a profound statement or like
- 17:48a belief comes out. I can hear when it's an inner
- 17:52child part that's coming out. And I'm just, I'm just,
- 17:56I can just hear that and then draw that out. So a lot of people
- 17:59who have never done inner child work, I'm really tuned
- 18:03into dark, different parts, those little young
- 18:06parts, teenage parts I'm really big
- 18:10on. The things that we go through in life do not define
- 18:14us. They are things that have happened to us. So
- 18:18when we can separate out things we've been through that
- 18:21have really affected us and maybe they've even become part of who we are, how
- 18:25we operate in the world. But when we can find our agency
- 18:29within the story and even rewrite some of
- 18:33those things. So I think I take people into those places.
- 18:36I do a lot of work with, you know, just nervous system
- 18:39regulation really tuning in. Like, where am I right now?
- 18:43Am I in freeze? Am I in fight? Am I in flight? Am I fawning
- 18:47and people pleasing? Am I able to access
- 18:51the ventral vagal? I'm enjoying life and I'm feeling good
- 18:55and, you know, just helping people kind of like tag in at
- 18:59any given time during the day and recognize where am I? And then have tools.
- 19:03I'm big on tools. So so building the toolbox, from
- 19:06nervous system regulators to
- 19:10energy tools to emotional regulation,
- 19:14like, learning to really befriend all the
- 19:17emotions and have conversations with
- 19:20emotions, understand, like, why is that anger there? What
- 19:24is that fear? Is it really danger? What, you know, is a
- 19:28distortion of fear? Is it anxiety? Like, what's going
- 19:31on and how can you use that in your life?
- 19:35So, you know, I'm. I'm very big on giving
- 19:38tools and reminders to use those
- 19:42tools. So I may give someone a tool, but, you know, I always tell people,
- 19:45like, if I check in about it, it's not because you need to be like,
- 19:49oh, gosh, I haven't done that. It's more like, we all need to be reminded.
- 19:52We learn in layers. And over time, when you have support,
- 19:56you remember, like, oh, yeah, that tool. And it's actually helpful if
- 20:00I use it. And different tools work better for some people
- 20:04or for other people. So, you know, getting to work with
- 20:07a coach or be a part of a group doing, like, group coaching or
- 20:11something is so helpful because over time, you're
- 20:14reminded. It's sort of like when you're super sick, you forget, like, wait, what things
- 20:18do I do to support my immune system? And you need your friend to tell
- 20:22you, like, you know, take your probiotic and up your vitamin D and take some
- 20:26vitamin C or, you know, all those kind of things. So,
- 20:29yeah, those are. Are some of the things that. And I'm
- 20:33also big on. Rubber meets the road. Like, we get clear on
- 20:37where we are so that we can actually
- 20:40travel in the direction that we really want to go in.
- 20:44Because if we aren't clear and really present to where we are
- 20:48in these bodies, we can't actually take steps
- 20:52toward a desire that we have. So as I help people
- 20:56get really honest and clear about where they are, their
- 20:59desires always come out, whether they're relational desires, work
- 21:03desires, family desires, inner desires, whatever.
- 21:06And we can take little steps toward those
- 21:10desires that are aligned, our actions aligning with what
- 21:13we really want. You know, I help people see if they're
- 21:17taking actions in this direction, but what they really want is over here.
- 21:21They're never gonna get there. But a lot of times it's
- 21:24those. It's those programming, you know, old
- 21:28programs that are keeping us from taking action aligned to what we
- 21:32really want. So that's why I do the. The focus
- 21:35on kind of that deeper work. And that's. That's just. That's where I go
- 21:39naturally to the deeper. Yeah.
- 21:42Yeah. Well, and again, like, I just feel like you guys are both
- 21:46so good at what you do, and you're both helping people, and it's just a
- 21:49little different focus. And I, I personally find that fascinating, you know, because.
- 21:53And it's. You're both operating in your strengths in that, for sure. So. And, and
- 21:57Kara has a group program that I hope she does again soon, because I joined
- 22:00her in that last year. So these are two friends that I
- 22:04picked pay money to. To, like, give me advice. Seriously.
- 22:09Worth it. And worth it. So for sure.
- 22:13So how do you guys. How do you take what you have
- 22:17learned from coaching people and putting that into
- 22:20a podcast? Like, when people listen to your podcast, what is some
- 22:24of the wisdom that you've. You've gotten from learning with, working with
- 22:28clients that will come out in that. Jaclyn? So
- 22:32it's interesting. You know, a lot
- 22:35of the parts of my podcast are actually
- 22:39for the. My guests to actually share their insight and
- 22:43wisdom. And what, what comes out actually
- 22:46is
- 22:50almost cementing key
- 22:55insights that we get to repeat because
- 22:58somebody else is sharing something
- 23:02that they have done or some. Or part of their story that
- 23:06you're like, oh, right. So that's like a huge part of what I do
- 23:10in X, Y or Z. And it's. It's a.
- 23:14It's really saying,
- 23:17oh, yeah, great. That's a great thing. It's a great lesson and something
- 23:21that we can actually repeat and keep teaching. So, like yesterday, for
- 23:25example, I had this guy on my podcast. He is
- 23:28amazing. He is, first of all, he's 89 years old and you would never know
- 23:32it. He has written these amazing books.
- 23:37Really amazing. Really just great person. And he has
- 23:41done awesome. He's an. He was an amazing CEO and
- 23:44leader in his. In his field. And as we were talking, we
- 23:48were talking about his experience and his journey and his parts of
- 23:52his life. Key wisdoms were coming out. And,
- 23:56you know, it was in. One of the key topics was like, remember to
- 24:00listen, right? Like, Carrie, you were just listening, right? And
- 24:03that's one of the big things that a leader has to do, is to listen,
- 24:07keep. And I was kidding around. I'm like, we need to keep our ears
- 24:11open. If I could, you know, I kept thinking of a funny comic
- 24:14that I could because I can wiggle my ears. I'm not going to do it
- 24:16right now, but, like, wiggle my ears. And so people, like, watch
- 24:20them. They're. They're moving for a reason. We want you to listen and use
- 24:24your ears. And. And it kind of came out as one
- 24:28of his principles. And so I love the. I
- 24:32Guess it's the part of my podcast is that the,
- 24:35the gaining and the insights that a lot of the people have
- 24:39just affirmed some of the things that, that
- 24:43I guess that I do as a coach to help my
- 24:46clients be better leaders and be better stewards in their
- 24:50business and help them achieve more and be high achievers.
- 24:55Yeah, for sure. And Jaclyn also has Missing Link Network, which is one of the
- 24:59things that I have found very helpful in business. So it's a networking
- 25:02group. So we go out there, we meet other business owners,
- 25:06and we. It is, of course, networking. Lots of times the groups are for.
- 25:10Are helping each other build each other's business with giving
- 25:13referrals, you know, to grow business. But also what she's
- 25:16done with that is she's taken a lot of mastermind kind of ideas. So we're
- 25:20coming up with what's your elevator pitch? What's your unique, you
- 25:24know, buying proposition? Things that we have to know, and we're not
- 25:27necessarily good at that. So it becomes kind of like a board of
- 25:31directors almost for that. And what. And it's
- 25:34another thing that I find very interesting between the two of you. Right. Even though
- 25:38Kara is very much going in and you're very much going, let's go build. You
- 25:41know, business is a lot of what, what you're doing, Jaclyn, is that it's the
- 25:45same principles, right? It's listening to others, listening to your own
- 25:49story, finding your truth, acting on your truth. It's really, it's. It's
- 25:52really the same thing. So, Kara, your turn to kind of
- 25:56add into that how you. How you found in your podcast.
- 26:00It really kind of is a similar
- 26:04to. To Coach. I mean, I kind of know. I just want you to say
- 26:06it. Like, how, how do you bring out the wisdom? I love it. Oh, by
- 26:09the way, I'm like, Jaclyn, let's create something together and so we can
- 26:13be a whole bird. I'm loving, like, every
- 26:17day. I'll be the
- 26:21little body in the middle. Yeah,
- 26:24I, I think my answer to that question is very similar to
- 26:28what Jaclyn said, because I am going to start
- 26:32doing solo episodes, actually. And it's
- 26:35interesting how I've known I wanted to do solo episodes from
- 26:39the beginning, but because,
- 26:43Mary, as you've alluded several times, I don't have just
- 26:47like, here's what I talk about this thing
- 26:50and that broadness. I talk
- 26:54about the experience of humans. I talk
- 26:58about what it is like to be a human alive on the
- 27:02planet and the kind of things that come up in life. That's A very
- 27:06broad topic. And so I think that it was most
- 27:09natural for me to start by bringing other
- 27:13people in and holding space for their story, because
- 27:17I do not think most people
- 27:21are very comfortable with actually stepping
- 27:24in and just being there with people in it,
- 27:28whatever it is, and. Right.
- 27:32And that's the thing that I. I'm really good
- 27:35at. And so part of it is, like,
- 27:39let me highlight the things that these people
- 27:43are saying, like, you know, tools that they use to get through hard times
- 27:47or what it felt like to be in that. You,
- 27:50like, let's go there. Like, let's not just say, oh, man, I
- 27:54kind of didn't want to be here. Big
- 27:58statement. Like, let's. Let's go there a little more. Let's step
- 28:01into that a little bit. What was that like, day in and day out?
- 28:05How did you survive that? And all of a sudden, we're having
- 28:09a conversation on a different layer. My hope in
- 28:13that is that, you know, people listening, if they're in that
- 28:16space, feel the inspiration of,
- 28:20okay, I'm not the only one who's ever been here. That's how we usually feel
- 28:23when we're in hard times. I also hope that
- 28:27people are learning how to actually just be with people
- 28:30in hard times, hold space for
- 28:34hard conversations. I think if we as a
- 28:38society got a little bit better about not needing to, like,
- 28:42fix it to make ourselves feel more comfortable or
- 28:45offer some kind of like, well, you know, like just
- 28:49things. Yep. Pick yourself, buy your
- 28:52bootstraps, and positive things. You know, sometimes things are true
- 28:56but not helpful. Sometimes
- 29:00things just don't resonate and just feel you.
- 29:03When the work. One of the worst feelings when you're in a really hard circumstances
- 29:07is when you just feel like you are missing me.
- 29:11One of the greatest feelings is when you feel witnessed. When you feel
- 29:15like you get it. You, you, you. Oh, my gosh, you're just.
- 29:18You're okay with me being right here. You're okay with
- 29:22me still being sad 15 years later. You're okay with.
- 29:26I'm not positive at this moment in time. I'll get back there.
- 29:30But right now I'm feeling hopeless.
- 29:34So I think for me, I want to keep having this conversation about
- 29:38what it really means to step in with
- 29:41yourself, which is one of the things I teach my clients to do,
- 29:45what it means to step in with one another. Because we all want to have
- 29:49vibrant, you know, relationships with the people who really matter in our lives and our
- 29:52families, in our communities, in our work. You know, we
- 29:56want to have beautiful relationships, but I think talking about,
- 30:00what does that look like? You know, that that's for me. So I
- 30:03guess I highlight when people say things that I'm like, ooh,
- 30:07that's really powerful. I will highlight and reflect that.
- 30:11You know, I. I've learned, like, when I
- 30:14first started, my coaching is
- 30:18so different than holding space for someone's story, because
- 30:22I am holding space for your story if I'm coaching you, but I'm
- 30:25also talking more. So I had to find, like,
- 30:29my groove with taking up a little more space and actually
- 30:33contributing more of my little nuggets to the
- 30:36conversation in the podcast episodes. And that kind of happened
- 30:40over time. And I find in some
- 30:43episodes I do more of that, and in some episodes I
- 30:47do less of that. But as Jaclyn was sharing, you know, I experienced the
- 30:50same thing. Like, the wisdom from other people
- 30:54is just rampant, and we all have so
- 30:58much wisdom, and a lot of times we don't even know the things that
- 31:02we're saying are, like, so profound or so, like,
- 31:06poignant for people in so many circumstances, you
- 31:09know. And. And
- 31:13I do think what you're doing is so. I feel like it's. It is, like
- 31:17you said, very overlooked. And there was even, like, something go around,
- 31:20something going around on Facebook recently that was about, you
- 31:24know, holding space. And I remember I.
- 31:27I learned that term from you, like, what that means. It's like we're just going
- 31:31to be here with each other. And Jaclyn, you do a great job with this,
- 31:33too. And there's not a. It's. We're not judging each other.
- 31:37We're hearing each other and wondering where we are and just acknowledging that's where
- 31:41we are and just the.
- 31:45The fact that we need this so badly. Because if you've been through some kind
- 31:48of hell, the worst thing in the world, and almost it's
- 31:52re. Traumatizing and. And actually can take a
- 31:55trauma and make it in my mind 20 times worse
- 31:59by people who are not sitting with you and not
- 32:03seeing it and just saying, and. And it becomes kind of a
- 32:07blame. Right? You know, you're like that. Because I won't
- 32:10even say the things that. That have been said to me, but they're awful in
- 32:13my. In my mind, but from people who are. Who love me and are trying
- 32:17to help. And so. And it's not helpful, so. Because it's not helpful
- 32:20and you're not seen and you don't understand some of the ramifications of what
- 32:24goes on in your body when you've been, you know, for.
- 32:28Psychologically abused, for example. And People don't understand what goes on your
- 32:31nervous system. So. So people say dumb things, you know, or,
- 32:35you know, you don't know. Like, you know, in management, it's the same thing. Like
- 32:38in business, like, I just heard someone, like, you know, someone's having the worst
- 32:42time, you know, getting divorced and all this stuff, and someone comes in with, like,
- 32:46this. The slam dunk on what the age has been wrong with you, you
- 32:50know, like, so it. It translates to, you know,
- 32:53your personal life and your business life. And if we're not paying
- 32:57attention to people being humans and just a cog in the
- 33:01wheel or just, you know, get. Stop, get over that, you know, move
- 33:04on, you know, pick yourself up. Let's get going.
- 33:08We really do a lot of damage. To people, you know, Mary, what you just,
- 33:11you know, it's sharing that it's so important that whether
- 33:14you are. No matter where you are in your life, whether you're leading
- 33:18people or you're a
- 33:22partner in a firm. And when I say partner, I mean an employee, because I
- 33:25hate the word employee. It's like one of my. Like, I hate. There's two words
- 33:29I think need to get out of work, which is
- 33:33manager and employee. We don't manage. You manage a
- 33:36herd of sheep. We are not sheep. We're not cows. We are
- 33:40humans. And every human in a business is a
- 33:43partner, you know, and that's how I look at people.
- 33:47And so I think that no matter where you are
- 33:51in your life or no matter what you are doing, we
- 33:55have to spend time getting
- 33:59to know what each other's, for
- 34:02lack of a better word, mission and vision is in life and where we want
- 34:06to be. And you have to put that emotional
- 34:09intelligence into your life
- 34:13for other people. Because otherwise, you know, if you treat people
- 34:17just like a cog on the wheel or the number,
- 34:21and they're. They're not feel
- 34:24attached to the other person or the
- 34:28business or the thing. And we want to create that
- 34:32attachment. You know, I think. I think back to,
- 34:36you know, times and like, the best corporate
- 34:39experience that I. And it wasn't the
- 34:43manager. It was the fact that the team that we were
- 34:47part of. It was such an entrepreneurial family.
- 34:51We were all in it together. And
- 34:57when that ended, it was like a
- 35:01marriage ending or divorce or you're breaking up a family.
- 35:04And it was. I kept thinking, oh, we want to replicate this. We
- 35:08want to replicate this amazing attachment
- 35:13at another place. And what it was is that it is in
- 35:17a huge learning was realizing that
- 35:20we all were part of something that we had a
- 35:24vested interest in seeing it succeed, and
- 35:28we each knew that we were
- 35:33sorry. You know, it was bigger than ourselves. Right. And so if
- 35:36you can create that, whether it's, you know, in your family and you're,
- 35:40like, with the other people that are around you, you realize, yes, you're important,
- 35:44but there's so much more.
- 35:49Yeah, for sure. I would love to share a quote. As you're
- 35:52talking, I'm like, oh, I have to see who the. Who said this, and, you
- 35:56know, know, I'm gonna butcher his name, but is it Antoine the
- 35:59Saint, author of the Little Prince? If you
- 36:03want. If you want to build a print, if you want to build a
- 36:07ship, don't drum up the men to gather wood. Divide the work
- 36:10and give orders. Instead, teach
- 36:14them to yearn for the vast and endless
- 36:17sea. That just, like, sums up what you're talking about,
- 36:21Jaclyn. I think in any organization, like, if we actually
- 36:25create that longing together and we're all,
- 36:28like, valued for whatever we're contributing
- 36:32and we have a voice and we're able to, you know, share.
- 36:36I know, like, in my organization, like, in my. In my coaching and my
- 36:39podcasting, I'm like, I want everyone to feel like I'm
- 36:43doing things that feel aligned and make me feel alive. And,
- 36:47you know, if you have a voice, like, if you're like this,
- 36:51this task drains me. Can we. Can we look at
- 36:55reallocating or. That's been one of the things my producer and
- 36:58I, from the beginning have, you know, really been so honest
- 37:02and open in our communication. And, you know, we have a different level of
- 37:06commitment to each other and the product, the.
- 37:10The. The podcast itself. And I think when
- 37:13you can feel. You feel that energy, when that's there versus
- 37:17missing. Yeah. And I think that happens in family systems. That happens
- 37:21in businesses. Like, I love what you were saying, and I just wanted to share
- 37:24that. Quote, but no, I. I absolutely love that it's actually going to make me
- 37:27want to reread the. The Little Prince because I'm like, I love. I feel
- 37:31like so many of our kid books, right? Like, I. There's
- 37:35certain ones that I just absolutely adore, and so I've got to reread the Little
- 37:39Prince. Another one of my absolute favorite ones is, you know,
- 37:42the. The Melting Pot, which is a great book. It's about telling the
- 37:46truth, and it's great. But there's also another book called
- 37:50Ellison the Elephant, and it is
- 37:54all about knowing and finding your own voice.
- 37:58And it's. It's a. It's a Great book.
- 38:02I. Absolutely, you know, the, the gist of it really quickly
- 38:06is that Ellison is this little elephant and he cannot make the trumpet
- 38:09sound at all of an elephant. And so, you know, he goes through
- 38:13the things that we all go through as a kid, like being teased and that,
- 38:16you know, all those stuff, and he ends up going out
- 38:19and his friend Weasel. Not
- 38:23necessarily sure if it's really an imaginary friend or if it's a real friend,
- 38:26but Weasel helps him find his voice and he
- 38:30makes this beautiful trumpet, jazzy sound. And
- 38:34as soon as he starts making it, all the other
- 38:37elephants want to know how to do it.
- 38:42But it's all about finding your. It's like, all about finding your voice. Like, each
- 38:46and every one of us has a voice. We can, you know, we can say
- 38:49the same thing, but it's going to resonate differently with other
- 38:53people. And it's so important.
- 38:56Yes. Yeah. I think these, and these
- 39:00messages are so important. I think both in family and in
- 39:04personal circles and in business. And I just, like, even this last week, I was
- 39:08talking to people, three different people said they
- 39:12were wondering if they should sue an employer because
- 39:15the, just the, the
- 39:18abuse. The abuse, I mean, you know, it's psychological. It's not, you know,
- 39:22being hit or anything, but is so bad. And I'm like, I feel like there's,
- 39:25there's an epidemic in leadership going on. And this is people in different states
- 39:29and different industries. It's not one industry at
- 39:33all. And then, of course, you know, we have so much, you know,
- 39:37interpersonal crises. That's, that's kind of everywhere. So. Yeah,
- 39:40and it's, it's what you guys are saying. It's every, it's all the, it's the
- 39:44stuff of listening and understanding and building together. And
- 39:48Jaclyn, I never heard that term. You don't like
- 39:51manager and employee. You like, what were the terms? You
- 39:55said partner. Partner, where we lead, people. We.
- 40:00I never can't stand it. I, I, it, it drives me like,
- 40:03it's like nails on a chalkboard. I'm an employee.
- 40:07And it just sounds so derogatory.
- 40:11Everybody is. They're a team member. They're a partner. And we
- 40:15are, we, we're made of leaders. Managers
- 40:18literally manage tasks. And we, we, you know, it's
- 40:22product management, it's task oriented.
- 40:26No, I believe people. Right. Don't get the word
- 40:30management and employee out. Right.
- 40:34Yeah, Yeah, I love that. And I do think it would change. I think it
- 40:38would change cultures that need to be changed in business and in, you know,
- 40:41the world. So that's great. I
- 40:46wanted to ask you guys about your, your books since you both
- 40:49have things that you've written and just tell us a little bit about that. And
- 40:53then as we finish up, I'm just like, if there's questions you guys have of
- 40:56each other, I'd love to hear that too. But Kara, why don't you start this
- 40:59time? Your book. Yeah. Books,
- 41:04sections and books. I have co authored three different books that have been
- 41:07published. The first one was called Pebbles in the
- 41:11Pond, Wave four. And that one
- 41:15is a collection of stories about like a moment in time
- 41:19that was transformative in your life. And for me, that was
- 41:22a moment in time. That was the first published
- 41:28piece that I ever put out into the world. And it was a huge part
- 41:31of my own healing because it was finding the freedom
- 41:35to, you know, and for me, it wasn't about being
- 41:39seen or anyone having access to me. Like,
- 41:42I didn't have the fear of, like, oh, I don't want people to see me.
- 41:46It was I, the person who had been
- 41:49my abuser. I did not want that person to have access
- 41:53to me. And it was terrifying to put anything out in the world. So I'm
- 41:56happy to say I'm so far past that and I'll put anything in the world,
- 42:00like, I am just living my free life.
- 42:04Then I did another one called Dream Boldly, I dare you. And
- 42:07that one was really fun. And it was, that was a
- 42:11compilation of bold dreaming and moments, you
- 42:14know, shared by people where a dream either, you know, the
- 42:18premise of the dream or the dream becoming reality. That's a really cool
- 42:22book. And most recently, I contributed a chapter to
- 42:26a breathwork anthology that, you know, I
- 42:30shared of a story. It was actually from my near death experience
- 42:34and what breath work, you know, how breath work has been a part
- 42:38of my healing. Um, I love
- 42:41contributing chapters to anthologies because it's so
- 42:45like, there's a start, there's a finish, there's a word count,
- 42:48there's a, you know, you go on a journey to write it. Anytime you write
- 42:52and publish anything, it's a journey, it's an inner journey.
- 42:56But you can't like drag it out so much because it's just like, here's your
- 42:59parameters and the creator in me loves
- 43:03those parameters. I, I, I was actually working on
- 43:07a book before my accident and I may
- 43:11still write that book, but I definitely switched gears
- 43:15and most recently and currently I'm working on a book
- 43:19about my, my journey in, you know,
- 43:23having a life event that completely changed
- 43:26my life Pulled the rug out from under me after I had
- 43:30worked so, so hard to secure that rug under me. You
- 43:34know, I. I had really worked hard to
- 43:37build a life that I loved. And then one day, it
- 43:41all went away. And not all of it. There were aspects of it that were
- 43:44still there, but with a brain injury, you are not
- 43:48yourself. You. You. You can't access all parts of
- 43:52yourself. And so I have
- 43:55been working on this book, sort of
- 43:59detailing for me. I like to write about
- 44:03the transformation. I like to write about lived
- 44:07experiences and kind of the gold that's been mined
- 44:11from those lived experiences, because I really.
- 44:15That's how I get through hard things is like, okay, but what are
- 44:18we mining here? How are we making life better through this?
- 44:22And for me, I think the real, like, see, steadying myself
- 44:26to be okay, truly okay,
- 44:30right here, right now. And I thought that was the
- 44:34whole arc of the book. And as I got into the book,
- 44:38when I got to that part, I was like, oh, this is
- 44:41actually the middle of this arc. For me, the. The
- 44:45next wave that I'm living now is beyond being okay. Once
- 44:49you've studied yourself and you're truly okay right here,
- 44:53how do you build from here with what you've got and love
- 44:57your freaking life? Because I'm just a person who. I don't want to just be
- 45:01like, I'm okay. I'm like, no, I want to love my
- 45:05life. And so if my life needs to look really
- 45:08differently, I'm going to keep giving
- 45:12space for the things that I lament and grieve that can't be a
- 45:16part of my life. But I also want to keep opening the doors
- 45:19into the new, like, well, this is me now. So what does
- 45:23life look like for me in a ways that I'm like, wow,
- 45:27this is great. I love this. And so it's restructuring things around
- 45:31me, restructuring things within me. I really
- 45:35believe that the key to being
- 45:38happy is to take responsibility
- 45:42for. I'm going to meet myself
- 45:45wherever I am, and I'm going to feel everything
- 45:49there is to feel, and I'm going to keep giving space for that, and I'm
- 45:53going to support myself in all the ways necessary. I'm going to
- 45:56steady my feet under me, and then I'm going to find ways
- 46:00to feel alive and to feel joy right
- 46:03here and to, you know, squeeze all that I can out of life.
- 46:07So that's what I've been writing about now. And I
- 46:11don't have, like, a. And I'll be wrapping that book up
- 46:14in. I. I guess I would love by the end of this year
- 46:18to have a rough draft of that book, but we'll see as time
- 46:22and brain injury and doing all the things allow. You know,
- 46:25I. I don't always get to be in control of the timelines anymore,
- 46:29which is one of the things that I have to work with. Right.
- 46:33Well, in listening to you, because I've known you for so long, I'm having all
- 46:37the emotions of, like, remembering that first book launch
- 46:40and how much it took to go to not being scared
- 46:44anymore into being willing to say it. And then I'm.
- 46:48Then I'm remembering, you know, that because the. The
- 46:52accident happened right when I was moving from Nashville to Atlanta,
- 46:55and I had texted you and said, hey, are you free? And then you didn't
- 46:59respond, and you didn't respond, and I was literally. I was just like, I'm. I'm
- 47:03hurt by this to find out you're in a hospital almost dead.
- 47:07Right. You know, and. Yeah, so I'm just having all those
- 47:10emotions right now. And I think with you, too, I mean, I want to cover
- 47:14different things, like in the physical, you know, things in the world that can
- 47:17stop us and what we can do for just very tangible healing things. And
- 47:21have you talk about specifically brain injury later, but with you, it's like,
- 47:25you. You. You don't know. You're brain injured. You could have these
- 47:29amazing conversations and lead people, and it's like, what do you mean you're brain injured?
- 47:32You don't look brain injured. And of course, with you, it's more in
- 47:36the movement and the driving and. And a bunch of,
- 47:40you know, auditory, but, like, just talking
- 47:44to you. Yeah. And stamina. I think stamina is the hardest
- 47:47until you. Yeah, because. And the invisibility of it, you know, the fact
- 47:51that people are like, oh, you don't look. I could never tell. Like, that's. That's
- 47:55part of what's hard is, you know, you're. You're doing everything you can to show
- 47:59up and be so present and, you know, know the way that, like, the. The
- 48:02recovery from something like this, engaged conversation or,
- 48:06you know, what I have to do to reserve my energy
- 48:10in a day to be able to have a conversation like this in an evening.
- 48:14You know, that stamina, which is just not normal
- 48:18life, you know, we. We're used to kind of like, okay, yes,
- 48:22and we can do this, and then I'll push through and do that. There's no
- 48:24pushing through. You know, there's very. You've got
- 48:28the dose. This is what. This is what you get to deal with, maybe, because
- 48:32maybe it won't be there today. Yeah. Yeah.
- 48:36Right. Right. Yeah. And which is why, like, what you do, like,
- 48:39stepping in with people and, like, having, you know, having an understanding, because, like, you.
- 48:43We could make judgments on people because we don't know. We don't just don't. We
- 48:46just don't. Well, we don't know. And also on that note, I want to hear
- 48:49about Jaclyn's book, and then I do want to just kind of, like, have you
- 48:52guys ask questions and wrap it up, because, Kara, I know you're. You are
- 48:56on your. Your push. You're pushing for me tonight.
- 49:00I know you are. So you don't look like it, but I know it. So.
- 49:03Okay, so, Jaclyn, tell us about. And I want to see the COVID Let's see
- 49:06this amazing cover of this book that says, not for sale.
- 49:11Not for resale. Because this is the proof copy, right?
- 49:20Yeah, it was funny, actually, because I got these two books
- 49:23delivered from. For the podcast that I did yesterday, and
- 49:27then I got this other delivery, and I'm like, oh, oh, my God, those are
- 49:31my books. Like, that's mine. Like that. That, like. Like, that's
- 49:35my name on it. It's like, you know, and Kira, as you know, it's like,
- 49:38you see that and you're like, right, so.
- 49:41So it's kind of the. The thing about this book that
- 49:45I think is a little bit different is, is a lot of times when you'll
- 49:49see a business book or a management
- 49:53whatever, it's like a title with no. Kind of interesting, kind
- 49:57of graphic. I mean, this could technically, you know, not that I put
- 50:00some guy on here that looks like long, flowy hair. It could be like a
- 50:04romance novel or anything. But, you know, we put the COVID
- 50:08you know, it's. It's a little bit kind of funny. You know,
- 50:11penguins have an incredible sense of direction and
- 50:15know where they're going. And if you look, that penguin is nowhere where it should
- 50:19ever be because it's on top of looking
- 50:22at a vast valley. But it's. It's
- 50:26really. It's charting. It's obviously, you can see it's charting true north. And this
- 50:30is. It's what it's supposed
- 50:33to be one of seven. So it's the first in a series of seven. It
- 50:37took us, I think, my co author and I, I think we started
- 50:41writing it or deciding we wanted to write a book
- 50:44in January, and we were. We actually
- 50:48pretty much had it done. But going
- 50:51from the pages to
- 50:55proofing it to get other people to read it, which we really wanted.
- 50:59That process took a heck of a lot longer than we
- 51:02anticipated. So, you know, learning lesson, like, have those
- 51:06people lined up to keep the. The process going. But it's not
- 51:09just your typical book filled. It's. It's actually a workbook.
- 51:13So there's the first. First section
- 51:17is, you know,
- 51:20it's information, and then the second session is exercises.
- 51:24And then there's journal prompts for you to actually write
- 51:27and. And talk about and think about your leadership. And then there's
- 51:3131 days of assessing yourself, like, with additional prompts
- 51:35to write out, like, how are you in your leadership? How is your leadership
- 51:39journey going? Where. Where are you on the emotional side? Where
- 51:43are you with your values and your principles? So we
- 51:46really wanted it to be something
- 51:50that people grabbed and wrote
- 51:54in and not just read, which is also why
- 51:57it's, you know,
- 52:01so it's as we have on here, it's like, for CEOs who
- 52:04feel the tension between staying true to themselves and meeting the demands of leadership,
- 52:08because we also, you know, part of that is that whole philosophy of
- 52:12knowing where you are in your life, knowing what your
- 52:16own personal values are and what your own personal mission is, and how
- 52:20do you bring that into leadership and into the company that you're part of
- 52:23or part of that team that you're building,
- 52:27and how do you bring it out in others? Because that's the other key
- 52:31part. Oops.
- 52:35Oh, there it is.
- 52:39This is our. This now for a dance party.
- 52:43It got through because he's on do not
- 52:47disturb. Oops. Do not disturb.
- 52:50And no, I'm on a podcast.
- 52:56It's like those personal things, like, you have, like, the person that you allow
- 52:59to come through and you put it on do not disturb. It's my husband, so
- 53:02I needed to have him online. Yeah, well,
- 53:06you know, tell him we said hi. He deserves that.
- 53:10So. Yeah. Yeah.
- 53:14Well, I appreciate and love you guys so much. And, Jaclyn, I'm
- 53:17excited to read your new book. And. And we'll have links to
- 53:21everything for everyone. And I. Nara Kara. I can almost feel that. I know
- 53:25you're. You're. Because you're later than me right now. So we are on. We're on
- 53:28three different time zones on this podcast right now. So we're on Pacific
- 53:32time, central time, and Eastern time, which is super fun, and I love being
- 53:36able to grab people from different parts of the country and, you know, talk through
- 53:39things. So any last words for us of wisdom
- 53:43you guys have as we. As we exit or Thoughts.
- 53:47And if you're all out of thoughts, then you can actually just
- 53:51dance.
- 53:56Well, I. I would. My last word to people, like, just. Just
- 53:59reflecting on, you know, this new venture for you. The healthy,
- 54:03happy, wise, wealthy. I think a lot
- 54:07of times, you know, life. Life is a lot,
- 54:10and it's full of many adventures.
- 54:14And, you know, sometimes when you've been.
- 54:17Whether dealt a few hands or gone through some difficult things,
- 54:21I think sometimes you can get in this, you know, state of
- 54:25discouragement where you. You don't. You lose hope or you
- 54:29feel powerless. And I think if
- 54:32I could leave people with one word and all these beautiful conversations
- 54:36that we've had around podcasting and writing and
- 54:40coaching, the thing that I would. I would want people to remember
- 54:43is no matter what has
- 54:46happened in your life, there
- 54:50is always agency
- 54:54to. To get back on your feet and find
- 54:58a way forward toward a
- 55:01better space for you.
- 55:05And, you know, that. That's why, you know, we
- 55:08do what we do and, you know, we do it
- 55:12differently or maybe with slightly different people, but people are people.
- 55:16And, you know, whether you're working with life or business or whatever,
- 55:19but there's always an action you can take
- 55:23and, you know, get support because it's like
- 55:27what we can do with support. It's like farther,
- 55:31faster. You know, I. I do that in my own
- 55:34life. I, you know, there are things that I know I can do on my
- 55:37own, and there are things that I know I need support for this. I need
- 55:40a higher support for this because, you know, I want to get
- 55:44where I'm going, and I want someone who knows how to get me there
- 55:47faster to help me along. So, yeah, there's
- 55:51always something you can do to step in
- 55:55and make your life, you know, a better place to be for
- 55:59you. Yes. And I think, you
- 56:03know, we've said this, alluded to it a couple times, but it's like we do
- 56:06so much better together. And we. We. When we
- 56:10know, like, even when we're talking about things that we're not the only one,
- 56:14like, I'm not the only one. The amount of just healing,
- 56:18just knowing that brings. Or knowing someone who's
- 56:21like, really hears you and knows you, it's like, oh, my gosh, they. They.
- 56:26Sometimes it feels almost shocking, but that just. That in and of itself is so.
- 56:30And I. What I want to say, I guess also just adding to that parting,
- 56:33Parting words, is that life is a journey, and we're all on a journey.
- 56:37And that along with, like, stepping in is.
- 56:41And creating that momentum, it's two steps. Like, we can take two steps to create
- 56:44that momentum for what we are doing. It is a journey.
- 56:48And that no matter. You know, no matter what
- 56:51happens, you know, being. You know,
- 56:55coming from that place of gratitude that we
- 56:59are. We are living, we are moving forward
- 57:03and, you know, doing, like, what Mary's doing, which
- 57:06is just hit go right, and know that
- 57:10it's. It's okay, you know? And we can. We can
- 57:13reflect on the good, the bad, and the ugly, but know
- 57:17that there's always so. Something beautiful that you can learn from
- 57:21it. Amen. And also, I wouldn't do this without
- 57:24Erika. So it's, like, better together, right? And I don't think I'd be here without
- 57:28either one of you, so. Better together. I
- 57:32love you guys so much. Thank you for. Thank you so much for being here
- 57:35for the first one. It just felt like exactly the right thing, and
- 57:39I so appreciate and love you guys. And I'm gonna have you guys on again,
- 57:43and I will talk to you probably a million times. Love you, Mary. Thank you
- 57:46for having us. This was really sweet. It was really sweet.
