- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, everybody.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a bonus episode of long
- 0:14Speaker 2: story Shorts the podcast I'm Megan, I'm Wendy, and today
- 0:18Speaker 2: we're discussing the third movie in Hallmark's Fall Harvest series,
- 0:23Speaker 2: which is called Taking the Reins.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I want to call it Taking the Reins of Love.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Every single time I say or write the title of
- 0:30Speaker 2: this movie. We are recording this. It is September twenty ninth.
- 0:35Speaker 2: This episode will come out on September thirtieth. We are
- 0:38Speaker 2: barely in the season of Fall. We are halfway through
- 0:41Speaker 2: the Fall Harvest lineup, but Hallmark has finally graced us
- 0:47Speaker 2: with their hints of their Countdown to Christmas lineup, and
- 0:53Speaker 2: we are recording a very special Girls Gone Hallmark preview
- 0:57Speaker 2: episode of the Countdown Christmas season, and that episode will
- 1:03Speaker 2: be available tomorrow, Friday, October first, So make sure you
- 1:08Speaker 2: come back for a special bonus episode this week and
- 1:11Speaker 2: give that a listen. All right, Wendy, do you have
- 1:15Speaker 2: a synopsis of Taking the Reins, not of Love?
- 1:19Speaker 3: Yes, I do, and it's a tiny one. Via the
- 1:22Speaker 3: Hallmark app Taking the Rains, a writer discovers what ended
- 1:27Speaker 3: her marriage and why she stopped riding horses.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Do you have a dog that really wants to be
- 1:32Speaker 2: in the closet with you?
- 1:34Speaker 3: Sorry, Okay, she's outside the door.
- 1:39Speaker 2: All right, let's hop into some news and notes about
- 1:44Speaker 2: taking the rains.
- 1:45Speaker 1: All right, you go first. This movie was filmed in Connecticut.
- 1:50Speaker 2: We are out of Canada briefly, and it was filmed
- 1:55Speaker 2: mostly on location at meadow Brook Farm, which is in Marlborough, Connecticut,
- 1:59Speaker 2: which is the majority of the movie. Was filmed in
- 2:01Speaker 2: Hartford County, Connecticut, and Hartford always makes you think of
- 2:05Speaker 2: Gilmore Girls. About total of nothing in this movie felt
- 2:09Speaker 2: like Gilmore Girls at all to me.
- 2:11Speaker 1: But Connecticut.
- 2:14Speaker 3: I'm having trouble remembering did you actually go to Connecticut
- 2:18Speaker 3: this year or was that a trip spoiled?
- 2:21Speaker 2: I went to Connecticut and we stayed overnight in Hartford,
- 2:26Speaker 2: and he went to a Hertford yard Goats minor league
- 2:30Speaker 2: baseball game that was rained out after two innings, but
- 2:33Speaker 2: they didn't actually call it a rain out for like
- 2:34Speaker 2: an hour and a half, so we sat there in
- 2:36Speaker 2: the thunderstorm, which I actually quite enjoyed. And minor league
- 2:40Speaker 2: baseball games like they were really going for the small
- 2:43Speaker 2: town feel. They had their announcers going through the concourse
- 2:48Speaker 2: and playing games and interviewing people. It was honestly delightful.
- 2:52Speaker 2: So we didn't spend much time there. It was about
- 2:54Speaker 2: one hundred and ten degrees with her when we were there,
- 2:57Speaker 2: so we like pulled into town. This was like twelve
- 3:00Speaker 2: fourteen day road trip. I was very much done this,
- 3:03Speaker 2: spent the afternoon in our hotel room and then only
- 3:06Speaker 2: emerged for the game. So I don't have much to
- 3:08Speaker 2: say about Connecticut, but the Duncan Donuts Stadium was delightful.
- 3:13Speaker 3: So this movie was filmed in July. Weren't you there
- 3:17Speaker 3: in Connecticut in July?
- 3:19Speaker 2: We flew home from our trip July first, oh to
- 3:22Speaker 2: the end of June. But yeah, we just missed them.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Oh interesting, well, because I had saw on Nikki de
- 3:30Speaker 3: Loach's good instagram. I know her last name is a
- 3:34Speaker 3: real tongue twister for me, m h. Anyway, I saw
- 3:37Speaker 3: on her Instagram she was like had a personal umbrella
- 3:40Speaker 3: holder guy shading her because it was so freaking hot.
- 3:45Speaker 2: That's so funny because I saw that too and did
- 3:48Speaker 2: not even make the connection that we were in that
- 3:51Speaker 2: area at that time until you started asking me those questions.
- 3:54Speaker 2: But I can vouch for the fact that it was
- 3:56Speaker 2: very hot in Connecticut this summer.
- 3:58Speaker 3: I Connecticut's one of those places I really want to visit.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it just seems lovely to me. I don't know.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I have grand visions of Connecticut. I won't tell
- 4:10Speaker 2: you that the places we went were not amazing. But
- 4:14Speaker 2: what was amazing is we were driving kind of along
- 4:17Speaker 2: highway and at one point we passed we had passed
- 4:21Speaker 2: like five Dunkin Donuts and not a single grocery store.
- 4:24Speaker 2: So they love their Duncan in Connecticut. Well, I love Duncan,
- 4:28Speaker 2: so I think I would just fit right in.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 3: I did read that this movie was previously titled Love
- 4:36Speaker 3: at the Staple Chase. Nope, love at the steeple Chase,
- 4:41Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. I can Oh my god, my brain,
- 4:45Speaker 3: I swear to God like changes the words. Okay, say
- 4:50Speaker 3: it for me, Megan.
- 4:52Speaker 2: This movie was originally titled Love at Steeplechase.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Oh my Gosh, and thank god they changed. It would
- 5:01Speaker 3: have never been able to say it.
- 5:04Speaker 2: So I did some googling, and you know, Steeplechase is
- 5:08Speaker 2: a horse race. But I was trying to understand and
- 5:11Speaker 2: I did not come to a great understanding. I think
- 5:15Speaker 2: it refers to a type of horse race, although it
- 5:18Speaker 2: sounds like it refers to a place. Uh huh, so
- 5:21Speaker 2: perhaps it's both. But then there's also an Olympic event
- 5:24Speaker 2: called steeplechase that is like a track and field event
- 5:29Speaker 2: or some sort of Okay, I got very confused.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Yeah you deep dive.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Huh Yeah, But then I don't you know, the horse
- 5:36Speaker 2: activity that was happening in this movie, I don't think
- 5:39Speaker 2: was a steeple chase. Like steeplechase is a race like
- 5:42Speaker 2: multiple horses racing, as opposed to like one horse doing
- 5:46Speaker 2: the course at a time. Anyway, I think it's best
- 5:49Speaker 2: that they changed the name.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe this story originally was about a horse race
- 5:55Speaker 3: horse racing, but then like scouting locations, they were like,
- 5:59Speaker 3: we can't really make that happen, so maybe we change
- 6:04Speaker 3: it up. I don't know.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I don't actually have the horse racing talent that we need.
- 6:10Speaker 3: They're unavailable right now.
- 6:12Speaker 2: As you mentioned, this was filmed in July, Hi, but
- 6:15Speaker 2: it was digitally recolored to give it a fall feel.
- 6:19Speaker 3: I have thoughts on that, and we'll touch on that.
- 6:21Speaker 1: A little bit later. So I have Oh, I have
- 6:23Speaker 1: a question.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I'm so, I'm still in news and notes go Ashley,
- 6:26Speaker 2: who is the bakery owner and the friend and who
- 6:29Speaker 2: dates Luke briefly her. The actress who plays with her
- 6:32Speaker 2: name is Alana Becker. She looked so familiar to me.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Agree, me too, But I.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Looked at her IMDb and I've never seen a single
- 6:40Speaker 2: thing she's been in.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Yeah, she had a very familiar face. Do you remember
- 6:46Speaker 3: anything off hand?
- 6:47Speaker 1: Wait?
- 6:48Speaker 2: No, I don't, because every single show I had never
- 6:50Speaker 2: seen before. So it is still kind of scratching at
- 6:55Speaker 2: my brain because every time I looked at her, I
- 6:57Speaker 2: thought it was just waiting for me to remember what
- 6:59Speaker 2: I had seen seen her in and could not place
- 7:03Speaker 2: her at all.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Maybe she just looks like someone else.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Perhaps I don't know. Perhaps don't know. But this does
- 7:09Speaker 1: have a good cast.
- 7:10Speaker 2: I mean, Nikki DeLoach is a prolific Hallwark actress. We
- 7:13Speaker 2: get Scott Porter, who we've mentioned several times Friday Night Lights,
- 7:18Speaker 2: Ginny and Georgia.
- 7:19Speaker 1: We'll talk about him in a minute.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Corbin Burnson, Yeah, didn't he used to be on La Law. Okay,
- 7:24Speaker 2: if you want to go on an adventure, you need
- 7:27Speaker 2: to scroll through his IMDb because dude has worked. I
- 7:32Speaker 2: mean it is pages and pages and pages of credits,
- 7:36Speaker 2: so perhaps he was on La Law.
- 7:37Speaker 1: He's been in so many things. It was I enjoyed
- 7:41Speaker 1: seeing him.
- 7:42Speaker 2: And then Janine Turner. I was trying to decide what
- 7:45Speaker 2: I know her best trap. I mean, she was in
- 7:47Speaker 2: Northern Exposure, and I think that's what her face is
- 7:50Speaker 2: most familiar to me from. But she was also in
- 7:53Speaker 2: Friday Night Lights. She was, yeah, as who she was
- 7:58Speaker 2: in twelve episodes, so I don't she played someone with
- 8:01Speaker 2: the mother, I'm sure.
- 8:02Speaker 1: And then she was in Steel Magnolia's.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Still Magnolia's too. I don't remember her in.
- 8:06Speaker 1: That, so yeah, I think Northern Exposure is her.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean she's got like such a familiar face,
- 8:13Speaker 3: like I knew her name, but I didn't know she
- 8:16Speaker 3: was in either of those Steel Magnolia's or Friday Night Lights.
- 8:20Speaker 3: And I recently just rewatched Friday Night Lights within the
- 8:23Speaker 3: last like three years, so hmmm, I can't remember. I
- 8:27Speaker 3: have a feeling she was like married to the booster guy,
- 8:30Speaker 3: who was like a real creep.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Oh, I do know who you're talking about, don't I
- 8:34Speaker 1: don't remember at all.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't either, Okay, somebody's screaming at.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Us, so totally totally. What was your first impression of
- 8:43Speaker 1: this movie?
- 8:44Speaker 3: Well, since I know zero about horses and I don't
- 8:49Speaker 3: really care about like horse racing or horse jumping or
- 8:54Speaker 3: anything like that, I was kind of worried. But I
- 8:59Speaker 3: really liked this movie.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Oh really liked it.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Interesting fun fact about me, I used to go to
- 9:05Speaker 2: a horseback riding camp in the summer, Sleepway Camp, and
- 9:09Speaker 2: I went either for two or three summers, so I
- 9:12Speaker 2: was I was a horse girl as a child, and
- 9:15Speaker 2: I don't know anything about horse racing, but I enjoy horses.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I enjoy the idea of horses, So I was looking
- 9:21Speaker 2: forward to this movie. I would say I was pleasantly
- 9:25Speaker 2: surprised by the fall feeling that this movie had, even
- 9:29Speaker 2: though I have some thoughts about how they could have
- 9:32Speaker 2: leaned in harder into the fall, but I didn't expect
- 9:35Speaker 2: it to feel like fall at all, and it did
- 9:37Speaker 2: to me. That's okay, No, okay, what did you like
- 9:44Speaker 2: about this movie?
- 9:46Speaker 1: I just want to.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Note here real quick, I watched this movie twice wow,
- 9:52Speaker 3: because the first time I watched it, I was preoccupied
- 9:54Speaker 3: by something else, so I only really paid attention to
- 9:58Speaker 3: it like forty percent, and I was like, you know,
- 10:01Speaker 3: I have to go back and watch it because I
- 10:04Speaker 3: can't come on a podcast and talk about it if
- 10:07Speaker 3: I haven't watched.
- 10:08Speaker 1: No idea what happened.
- 10:10Speaker 3: So I gave it another another run, and that's why
- 10:15Speaker 3: I really ended up liking it, Like I paid way
- 10:17Speaker 3: more attention to it. So with that said, I liked
- 10:22Speaker 3: several things. First and foremost, I loved Sam's sister. Yes,
- 10:29Speaker 3: I don't know what her character name was.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Oh, her name is Alexandra.
- 10:35Speaker 3: That's right. I loved her. I thought she was super funny.
- 10:38Speaker 3: I loved them together, Sam and her the scenes with
- 10:41Speaker 3: Sam and her sister together because like Sam would have
- 10:45Speaker 3: like great faces in reaction to whatever, like Alexandria was saying,
- 10:50Speaker 3: you know, just they were funny. They were good together.
- 10:53Speaker 3: I want the sister to have her own movie, yes,
- 10:57Speaker 3: Like I want to continue this story with the sisters
- 11:02Speaker 3: because she meets that guy at the end and like,
- 11:04Speaker 3: you know whatever. So what, I.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Loved the sister, I agree, I agree.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I liked the two of them together. I liked this
- 11:12Speaker 2: cast as a whole. I thought they had great chemistry together.
- 11:16Speaker 2: The parents, the sister, the daughter Scott, even the kind
- 11:20Speaker 2: of ranch hand whose name I am forgetting at the Mammage.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Yes.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I just thought this entire cast had great chemistry.
- 11:27Speaker 2: And you know often you see like cast photos posted
- 11:31Speaker 2: on Instagram, and I saw several of those and I was.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Like, oh, I believe it.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I think these people actually liked each other. And Nikko
- 11:38Speaker 2: Deloche posted some behind the scenes shots like of Scott
- 11:41Speaker 2: Porter and I my feeling was watching this that they
- 11:45Speaker 2: had a good time, that they enjoyed each other and
- 11:47Speaker 2: that's fun to watch.
- 11:48Speaker 1: It comes through it totally.
- 11:52Speaker 3: So tell me more about what you liked, because I have.
- 11:55Speaker 1: A love a bunch.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I loved Sam's quilted jacket. I was like, oh oh, oh,
- 12:01Speaker 2: I did several times. I was like, do I want
- 12:03Speaker 2: in equestrian aesthetic?
- 12:05Speaker 1: I don't, but I was literally loved her fall well
- 12:08Speaker 1: to jacket.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I thought it was so cute, like navy blue right, Yeah, yeah,
- 12:12Speaker 3: that was cute. I did see her in that a
- 12:14Speaker 3: couple of times. That's so funny. Do I want to
- 12:17Speaker 3: fall a core equestrian? Look, get you some writing.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Boots, Megan.
- 12:22Speaker 3: You can pull it off totally.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I totally think so totally totally think. So we have
- 12:27Speaker 1: some fried boots in my closet. They just don't fit
- 12:28Speaker 1: over my cabs anymore. That's all right, Bodies change sell
- 12:34Speaker 1: those babies, I know I should totally.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I thought the tension between Sam and her dad was
- 12:43Speaker 3: very believable. Yeah, I thought that was just some good acting. Yeah,
- 12:49Speaker 3: I agree, thought they were good. And then that tells you.
- 12:52Speaker 3: You know, Corman Bernston is a seasoned actor, right, and
- 12:57Speaker 3: I just yeah, they were great together, great, great, great together.
- 13:00Speaker 3: I felt like that tension and like the disappointment, and
- 13:05Speaker 3: I liked it. I liked it a lot.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like uncomfortable feeling. Yes, mm hmm.
- 13:13Speaker 3: What else I loved, loved, loved Scott Porter.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Me too, I wrote, I would love to see him
- 13:22Speaker 2: become a Hallmark mainstay.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Really yeah, I.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Mean I would like to too. But here's what it
- 13:29Speaker 3: is for me. I know, I always say that like
- 13:32Speaker 3: Hallmark's not a real a real movie because he's like
- 13:35Speaker 3: a real actor. You know what, do you know what
- 13:38Speaker 3: I mean?
- 13:39Speaker 1: Yes, I do know what you mean.
- 13:41Speaker 3: I'm not trying to discount. I just feel like maybe
- 13:45Speaker 3: the Hallmark thing is your paycheck for some of these
- 13:47Speaker 3: actors who actually have like other regular work. Maybe.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny because when you look at the IMDb
- 13:56Speaker 2: resumes of some of these actors, especially the ones who
- 13:59Speaker 2: are newer to Homark, sometimes they've been like you know,
- 14:02Speaker 2: they've been in one or two episodes of a show,
- 14:04Speaker 2: and they have deep resumes, but they don't have like
- 14:06Speaker 2: long time notable roles necessarily. Scott Portery, you look at
- 14:11Speaker 2: his IMDb. Look, he was on five seasons of Friday
- 14:14Speaker 2: Night Lights. He was on four seasons of Heart of Dixie,
- 14:17Speaker 2: he was on all ted episodes of Ginny and Georgia,
- 14:20Speaker 2: he was in The Good Wife. I mean he's been.
- 14:22Speaker 2: He is a seasoned, established actor. And whether you look
- 14:27Speaker 2: at like oh, Heart of Dixie and Ginny and Georgia
- 14:29Speaker 2: as like young adult shows, it doesn't matter. He is working.
- 14:34Speaker 2: He is a working actor. So I hear what you
- 14:39Speaker 2: are saying. That said, if we're gonna be watching a
- 14:41Speaker 2: lot of Hallmark movies, I want to see actors that
- 14:44Speaker 2: I enjoy in them.
- 14:45Speaker 1: So, and it's totally fair they film these in like
- 14:49Speaker 1: two weeks. So if he's in between jobs like hop
- 14:51Speaker 1: in and film a Hallmark movie and hop back.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Out, Yeah, so I'm wondering because he was in Ginny
- 14:56Speaker 3: and Georgia. Maybe Ginny and Georgia is just on pause
- 15:00Speaker 3: because of COVID, like they haven't resumed a second season
- 15:04Speaker 3: or whatever.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Yeah, or had he written it or have it?
- 15:08Speaker 3: Yeah, And he's like, yeah, I'm gonna just you know,
- 15:11Speaker 3: jam over to Connecticut for two weeks and pop out
- 15:14Speaker 3: this Hallmark movie and yes, be back anyway. I loved him.
- 15:18Speaker 3: He is a good natural actor. I find him super likable.
- 15:22Speaker 3: I find him quite sexy. And yeah, I loved loved him.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Did you like anything else? Yes? I did keep going.
- 15:33Speaker 3: I loved the hot chemistry between Sam and Luke.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Are you so happy?
- 15:40Speaker 3: I mean I wrote down best kissing scenes I've seen
- 15:44Speaker 3: from a Hallmark movie. Wow, I praise oh T T
- 15:50Speaker 3: hot off the charts?
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Didn't you think so? M H. I don't know what
- 15:56Speaker 3: it was, but I was like, whoa, that kiss feels
- 16:00Speaker 3: very sexy and it didn't happen at the end. It
- 16:02Speaker 3: was like mid movie and yeah, I don't know. Even
- 16:06Speaker 3: my husband was watching it with me and he's like, WHOA,
- 16:09Speaker 3: that's a kiss. So yeah, they had some hot chemistry
- 16:14Speaker 3: and I am here for it. One last thing that
- 16:17Speaker 3: I really liked. Oh, two more things I really liked.
- 16:22Speaker 3: I really appreciated how they got into the backstory of
- 16:26Speaker 3: why their marriage ended. And it wasn't just like this
- 16:30Speaker 3: like Koogy premise of I don't want to work with
- 16:32Speaker 3: my ex. There was like it was so much deeper
- 16:34Speaker 3: than that. And I will never forget whoever wrote this movie.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I really liked because Scott Porter says in it, he says,
- 16:43Speaker 3: we grew apart faster than we grew up. And that
- 16:47Speaker 3: just like really solidified like, oh, they were young, they
- 16:50Speaker 3: were in love, they got married, it fell apart, you know,
- 16:53Speaker 3: like it just totally made sense to me. I just
- 16:57Speaker 3: loved it. And finally I cried at the end when
- 17:02Speaker 3: Sam and her dad talked. It was very emotional, you know,
- 17:06Speaker 3: they just finally got to a place of understanding each other.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I just thought it was Yeah. I thought that was
- 17:11Speaker 2: very sweet too. Those scenes always they always get me. Yeah,
- 17:15Speaker 2: what did you wish for in this movie?
- 17:18Speaker 1: Not much?
- 17:19Speaker 3: My only note is more fall mm hmmm. I wrote
- 17:24Speaker 3: a fall movie.
- 17:25Speaker 2: No, and I wrote the same thing, And I think
- 17:28Speaker 2: it would have been so easy in a movie like
- 17:31Speaker 2: this to add in a fall fest, to add an
- 17:34Speaker 2: apple pie baking competition with the family to add in
- 17:38Speaker 2: something other than this fake fall color and what I
- 17:42Speaker 2: believe to be a green screen. When they're sitting in
- 17:44Speaker 2: the woods, when the scene is pulled back, I think
- 17:48Speaker 2: that's them. But then when they you know, they're up
- 17:50Speaker 2: close and it's like the orange leaves behind them, that
- 17:54Speaker 2: felt very fake. I think this movie takes place it's
- 17:59Speaker 2: ripe for fall, like you are on this horse farm.
- 18:03Speaker 2: How easy would it be to make this horse competition
- 18:07Speaker 2: have a fall theme, and you've got candy apples, and
- 18:09Speaker 2: you've got all these whatever else, like an apple pie booth.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I just think it's so easy to infuse things that
- 18:17Speaker 2: feel like fall into these movies. If you're going to
- 18:22Speaker 2: put them in a fall harvest lineup.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Well, see that brings me back to it was filmed
- 18:29Speaker 3: in July? Was this supposed to be part of something else?
- 18:33Speaker 3: Was it going to be a standalone? Was it going
- 18:35Speaker 3: to be part of the summer nights like July, August, September?
- 18:41Speaker 1: Don't I don't know, what do you think?
- 18:45Speaker 3: Well?
- 18:45Speaker 2: I think that's you know, we know that they film
- 18:49Speaker 2: these pretty close to their release date. I don't it
- 18:54Speaker 2: doesn't feel like it was supposed to be summer at all.
- 18:57Speaker 2: It doesn't feel like a summer movie. I could see
- 18:59Speaker 2: why they would say horses Boots fall, They just needed
- 19:03Speaker 2: to take it farther.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree, I absolutely agree. And here's my biggest
- 19:09Speaker 3: complaint is, so far, this is the third movie in
- 19:13Speaker 3: the Fall Harvest lineup. We've really only had one movie
- 19:18Speaker 3: that has fallen into like a seasonal, had a seasonal
- 19:22Speaker 3: like overlay on it, right, and that was Roadhouse Romance.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I agree.
- 19:28Speaker 2: And next week's Love Strikes Twice.
- 19:31Speaker 1: The previews do not give me.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Fall feels not either. And this is what I'm wondering.
- 19:36Speaker 3: I'm like, because they're putting out forty Christmas movies or
- 19:40Speaker 3: whatever it is, did they just like kind of skip fall,
- 19:44Speaker 3: you know, because all of their actors are working on
- 19:48Speaker 3: Christmas content or Christmas movies. You know.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm I just what I wonder is.
- 19:59Speaker 2: You know, Well, well, I was gonna say, like, there's
- 20:03Speaker 2: only so much Fall you can put in these movies, right,
- 20:05Speaker 2: but they beat us over the head with it. And
- 20:07Speaker 2: Christmas the eggnog and the yeah, the hot chocolate and
- 20:10Speaker 2: the ugly sweaters and you know, like you said, they're
- 20:13Speaker 2: making forty one movies this year, so it would not
- 20:16Speaker 2: be that hard to infuse it into six movies.
- 20:18Speaker 1: I don't know the reason.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I would almost e they I almost feel like they
- 20:22Speaker 2: don't need to have a category, right, some of these
- 20:24Speaker 2: movies just stand alone. Is it necessary for us to
- 20:28Speaker 2: have these six weeks and call it fall Harvest?
- 20:30Speaker 1: Is like?
- 20:31Speaker 2: Is that how you draw people in? I think so
- 20:35Speaker 2: by categorizing it as opposed to just having these six
- 20:38Speaker 2: standalone movies. And so they're like, well, we're gonna call
- 20:41Speaker 2: the movies between summer and Christmas fall Harvest, but we're
- 20:45Speaker 2: not gonna worry too much.
- 20:46Speaker 1: About them actually having fall content.
- 20:48Speaker 3: I know, and I don't like that.
- 20:51Speaker 2: It feels like it's more marketing, which yes, exactly, it's
- 20:54Speaker 2: more marketing than.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Uh actual, right, And I'm mentally prepared for fall. Give me, like,
- 21:03Speaker 3: give me something, give me an October fest, give me
- 21:07Speaker 3: a ride. I want a fall festival with carnival rides
- 21:13Speaker 3: and caramel apples, and like I want that? Who am I? Well?
- 21:19Speaker 2: Since ione trig or treating, like have a Halloween party
- 21:21Speaker 2: even right? Yes, yes, yes, the only other thing I
- 21:25Speaker 2: wished for. And we're three for three in movies that
- 21:28Speaker 2: do this.
- 21:28Speaker 1: This is on a much lighter scale.
- 21:31Speaker 2: But Luke goes out on a date with Ashley and
- 21:35Speaker 2: then he runs into Samantha while they're in this bar,
- 21:38Speaker 2: and he and Samantha have this moment at the bar
- 21:41Speaker 2: where they start to reconnect. And I liked that moment
- 21:45Speaker 2: very much. I just wish it hadn't happened while he
- 21:48Speaker 2: was on the date with Ashley.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Because it's okay.
- 21:50Speaker 2: I think it's okay for him to have been Oh,
- 21:53Speaker 2: I'm casually seeing this person, but now I'm going to
- 21:56Speaker 2: go another direction. But you don't need to go another
- 21:58Speaker 2: direction while you're still actively on the day. Like I
- 22:02Speaker 2: think it would have been better if they had seen
- 22:04Speaker 2: each other from afar and then the next day he
- 22:06Speaker 2: says to her, We've gone out a few times, but
- 22:09Speaker 2: it's nothing serious. There's nothing wrong with that. That's why
- 22:11Speaker 2: you date, you don't, you know, you figure things out.
- 22:14Speaker 2: But for that moment to happen while they were on
- 22:17Speaker 2: their date, I didn't love that.
- 22:19Speaker 3: I agree. I think that's a really good note.
- 22:23Speaker 1: All right, I'm ready for did to see that? Are you?
- 22:26Speaker 3: Oh my god, Megan, I have the biggest list. Oh good, Okay,
- 22:30Speaker 3: can I start first, please, because we're gonna start right
- 22:32Speaker 3: up top. At the beginning of the movie, they are
- 22:35Speaker 3: watching horse jumping competitions in a bar like they're watching
- 22:39Speaker 3: a football game. She's like yes, and I'm like, no,
- 22:44Speaker 3: they're not showing this in a side of a bar.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Not happening right, especially not at night.
- 22:48Speaker 2: It's funny because I've mentioned before my son is in
- 22:52Speaker 2: a bowling league and when we go at nine am
- 22:55Speaker 2: Saturday mornings, they always have the TV's on and they're muted,
- 22:58Speaker 2: but they're always on, like the multiple sports channels, and
- 23:01Speaker 2: nine am Saturday morning is not like prime live sports
- 23:05Speaker 2: watching time. Sometimes during college football season there'll be a game,
- 23:08Speaker 2: but it's often like sometimes the one off sports. But
- 23:12Speaker 2: I was thinking, I'm like, even then, we've never seen
- 23:15Speaker 2: horse racing, Like even then, they're not defaulting doors racing.
- 23:19Speaker 1: So yeah, that's not going to be prime Saturday night
- 23:24Speaker 1: ESPN doing No Way, No Way.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Staying up top, I would like to say Sam is
- 23:31Speaker 2: making a living writing about personalized dinnerware.
- 23:36Speaker 3: She's supposed to be in New York City.
- 23:38Speaker 2: I don't know, but so I had many questions because
- 23:42Speaker 2: we know she's a writer right away, and then she's
- 23:45Speaker 2: talking to her mom, and her mom says, you know,
- 23:47Speaker 2: will you come home for this competition? And she says,
- 23:50Speaker 2: I can't.
- 23:50Speaker 1: I have to work. And I was thinking, but you're
- 23:51Speaker 1: a writer, you can write from anywhere.
- 23:53Speaker 2: And then we find out she's a staff writer for
- 23:55Speaker 2: this magazine. But I admit that I don't underst how
- 24:00Speaker 2: staff writers work. But she's like, I have two articles
- 24:02Speaker 2: that have been out. You're telling me that they're paying
- 24:04Speaker 2: you a full time income for two My feeling is
- 24:07Speaker 2: like a staff writer, they might get a feature piece, right,
- 24:09Speaker 2: but they're also like, yeah, you're gonna write copy for
- 24:12Speaker 2: this piece we have on like the ten best boots
- 24:15Speaker 2: of the season and the where to go apple picking
- 24:18Speaker 2: in this featured location, and like you're just like churning
- 24:21Speaker 2: out content for them in addition to your featured piece.
- 24:24Speaker 2: They're not paying you at a magazine.
- 24:27Speaker 1: To write one piece a month.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Yeah, and she gets to take off two weeks to
- 24:32Speaker 3: go to connect, go do it right, write this lifestyle piece. Yeah,
- 24:37Speaker 3: I give you a break. Yeah, give me a break. Well.
- 24:40Speaker 3: I asked about New York City because she she did
- 24:44Speaker 3: live in like a studio apartment, but I didn't know,
- 24:48Speaker 3: like what city she was supposed to be in, and
- 24:50Speaker 3: I thought, well, that feels realistic compared to like some
- 24:53Speaker 3: other movies we've seen the Sure who have lived in
- 24:55Speaker 3: New York and they have like a view of the
- 24:56Speaker 3: Empire State Building. So I was like, like, Okay, a
- 25:00Speaker 3: writer living in a studio size apartment, that feels kind
- 25:03Speaker 3: of realistic. But you're right, like she there's no way
- 25:07Speaker 3: she's making a living based off of macromy and whatever
- 25:11Speaker 3: dinnerware article rightway right. She's also an uber driver and
- 25:15Speaker 3: works at Starbucks, so a way.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Look, I follow some people who are freelance writers on
- 25:21Speaker 2: Instagram and they are like churning out article after article
- 25:25Speaker 2: after article every single day just to keep the lights on.
- 25:27Speaker 2: So yeah, this is like the uh the Friends New
- 25:32Speaker 2: York income situation happening here.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Totally, totally.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Okay.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I've been thinking about this a lot in my own life,
- 25:41Speaker 2: which is weird because I don't have kids that are
- 25:43Speaker 2: ready to move out yet. But when your daughter moves
- 25:46Speaker 2: out of the house, either to go to college or
- 25:48Speaker 2: what later in life, would you redecorate her room or
- 25:52Speaker 2: would she come home to like exactly the way she
- 25:55Speaker 2: left it?
- 25:57Speaker 3: Totally's that's the same thing. When I saw that scene,
- 25:59Speaker 3: I was like, there's dolls sitting on a chair in here.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Part of me would be like I would kind of
- 26:07Speaker 3: keep it this same, at least a bed.
- 26:12Speaker 1: But no, Well sure, so I think about this a lot.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I don't know why lately it's been on my mind.
- 26:18Speaker 2: My young my oldest is a freshman in high school,
- 26:20Speaker 2: so I've got several years. But they'll always have a
- 26:24Speaker 2: room in our house. But I was thinking, is his
- 26:27Speaker 2: room gonna have like every little knickknack?
- 26:29Speaker 1: No, like I.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Wanted to feel like them, but also if they don't
- 26:33Speaker 2: live here full time, like, it's not I don't know.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I mean, I'm not gonna put a pink floral bedspread
- 26:40Speaker 2: in my son's room. Who doesn't like pink or flowers? Yeah, okay,
- 26:43Speaker 2: Well here's a question.
- 26:44Speaker 3: I know you moved out to go to college and
- 26:46Speaker 3: you never moved home after that, right, Yeah? Did your
- 26:48Speaker 3: parents keep it your bedroom the same?
- 26:51Speaker 1: They did?
- 26:52Speaker 2: Actually, so I moved out my freshman year. I came
- 26:55Speaker 2: home every weekend that first year, and then I never
- 26:58Speaker 2: moved home after that, like Wendy said, and my room
- 27:01Speaker 2: stayed the same like with my bookshelves and everything until
- 27:06Speaker 2: they moved five years later, and then I there was
- 27:11Speaker 2: there were guest rooms, but there was not like this
- 27:13Speaker 2: is Megan's room and this is all of her crap
- 27:15Speaker 2: in here.
- 27:15Speaker 3: It wasn't like, yeah, yeah, so that is so funny
- 27:19Speaker 3: that you brought that up, because I thought the same
- 27:21Speaker 3: thing when I saw that scene. I was like, whoa,
- 27:24Speaker 3: it's like she left when she was eighteen. No, she
- 27:27Speaker 3: left when she was twelve. You know. It was very juvenile.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Yes, so funny.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Okay, did you catch that the sister's office was inside
- 27:39Speaker 3: the horse stable?
- 27:42Speaker 1: What what?
- 27:43Speaker 3: Now? Like it's she's got a very pretty chair and
- 27:47Speaker 3: a desk, and it like right to her left is
- 27:50Speaker 3: the freaking where the horses are crapping in their stable. No.
- 27:55Speaker 2: I think all of the interior sets were phoned in
- 27:59Speaker 2: Luke's hobble.
- 28:01Speaker 1: That he lived his darklor room. I was like, wait,
- 28:05Speaker 1: what is happening here? I think that.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I was like, did you spend your entire location budget
- 28:10Speaker 2: on paying for the use of this farm and now
- 28:12Speaker 2: you're like finding little corners in which to put all
- 28:16Speaker 2: of these rooms? Yes, I did notice that, and I
- 28:18Speaker 2: thought most of the interiors left a little something to
- 28:21Speaker 2: be desired.
- 28:22Speaker 1: That's so funny.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Well, now thinking about it, like anytime they showed her
- 28:25Speaker 3: sitting at like her desk, like the scene was shot
- 28:30Speaker 3: so tight. Yeah, you're right, they're probably like, Okay, in
- 28:33Speaker 3: this corner we're going to have her office, and in
- 28:35Speaker 3: this corner is where Luke lives, you know.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Yes, my god.
- 28:40Speaker 2: So there's a scene early on in the movie where
- 28:42Speaker 2: Sam is talking to Alexander and then all of a sudden,
- 28:45Speaker 2: Alexander like turns away and picks up her phone, but
- 28:47Speaker 2: her phone never rings, And I was like, did they
- 28:50Speaker 2: forget to add the sound in? Are we like, what's happening?
- 28:54Speaker 2: Is she pretending to take a phone call so that
- 28:56Speaker 2: Sam can go talk to Luke? It was it was
- 28:59Speaker 2: an odd stage scene.
- 29:01Speaker 1: I don't know if you noticed it.
- 29:02Speaker 3: I don't think I remember that at all.
- 29:04Speaker 1: I mean, she's like, oh, and then she picks up
- 29:06Speaker 1: her phone.
- 29:07Speaker 2: I'm like, wait, either she they forgot to add the
- 29:10Speaker 2: sound or she's faking a phone call. And it wasn't
- 29:12Speaker 2: clear to me.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Which Are we to assume that her phone is on vibrate?
- 29:16Speaker 2: I mean maybe, but I don't think that plays very
- 29:19Speaker 2: well if that's what we're supposed to say.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Exactly exactly did you see that Sam when she arrived
- 29:26Speaker 3: at the bakery was carrying a Louis Vuitton bag. I
- 29:30Speaker 3: allow how to say, because you have the same damn bag, right.
- 29:35Speaker 1: And this goes back to her, I do this is her.
- 29:40Speaker 2: You are a writer in New York and you got
- 29:44Speaker 2: f you bag money right right?
- 29:46Speaker 3: But I was like, is that her like real life
- 29:49Speaker 3: bag that They're like, hey, can you carry this wardrobe?
- 29:53Speaker 1: Has money for a Louis Vuton bag? Or it's fake
- 29:56Speaker 1: or it's fake.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Yeah, They're like, oh, she definitely from the city she.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Needs you know, yeah, or they're trying to like send
- 30:04Speaker 2: the message like she's got family money. I don't know,
- 30:07Speaker 2: but that's funny that you notice up.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 30:10Speaker 2: I thought it was very interesting that the family dresses
- 30:12Speaker 2: up for dinner after a long day of working with
- 30:14Speaker 2: the horses, because I gotta tell you, I'd be like
- 30:20Speaker 2: showered and in sweatpants at that dinner table, right, thought,
- 30:23Speaker 2: full hair and makeup and a dress.
- 30:25Speaker 3: They're like, no, if we're eating dinner, you come down
- 30:28Speaker 3: at seven o'clock and you be.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Prepared, right, It's like down to abbey.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Crazy.
- 30:33Speaker 3: The scene where they're at the bar and they see
- 30:36Speaker 3: Matthew there. Matthew's the the other guy that works at.
- 30:39Speaker 1: The at ther ranchand I don't know what his job
- 30:42Speaker 1: title is.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Yeah, he's playing darts And I told her I watched
- 30:46Speaker 3: this my husband, and my husband goes, could he be
- 30:49Speaker 3: any closer to the dart board? Like he was literally
- 30:52Speaker 3: like two steps away from it, and just like shooting
- 30:54Speaker 3: these darts. We just cracked up.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Okay.
- 30:57Speaker 2: In that same evening where they have their dressed up dinner,
- 31:01Speaker 2: Sam then goes upstairs and she's riding, but she is
- 31:04Speaker 2: sitting like perched on the corner of the bench at
- 31:07Speaker 2: the end of her bed, legs crossed, kind of like
- 31:10Speaker 2: sitting sideways makes a great picture.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Nobody rides like that.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Like, first of all, maybe you're still in your dinner clothes,
- 31:17Speaker 2: but you're not sitting uncomfortably perched on the corner of
- 31:20Speaker 2: your bench, like no change out.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Of your clothes, sit on your bed, get comfortable.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that was funny. When the scene where Sam
- 31:30Speaker 3: and Luke go on their ride together, Yeah, were those
- 31:35Speaker 3: horses wearing hats?
- 31:38Speaker 2: Well, I think the horses are you talking about the
- 31:41Speaker 2: ones that go over their ears. Yes, yes, most the
- 31:44Speaker 2: horses wear that throughout the movie. And I looked them
- 31:46Speaker 2: up and there's different names for them, but they're like
- 31:48Speaker 2: fly bonnets basically, and they're to keep their ears.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Okay, that makes so much more sense because I was like,
- 31:57Speaker 3: have you ever seen when like Oberman pinchers. I don't
- 32:03Speaker 3: subscribe to this method, but they get their ears clipped
- 32:06Speaker 3: and then they're casted so they so their ears remain
- 32:09Speaker 3: up right. And that's almost like what these little hats
- 32:14Speaker 3: that the horses were wearing, because the straight up right exactly.
- 32:18Speaker 3: But that makes so much sense now that because I
- 32:21Speaker 3: was like, they're not cold, it's July, so what are
- 32:24Speaker 3: these hats for? And then I googled it as well
- 32:27Speaker 3: and actually then found like crocheted hats and I was like, oh,
- 32:30Speaker 3: that's not That's not what I'm looking for.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Horse hash.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like, that's not what I'm looking for.
- 32:36Speaker 3: And then I came across those things too, but I
- 32:38Speaker 3: didn't realize I didn't do that deep of a dive.
- 32:41Speaker 3: That makes sense that they are to for flies. Interesting.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I thought it was interesting that they wore them on
- 32:46Speaker 2: their ride because I could see them.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Wearing them when they're jumping. They don't want them to
- 32:51Speaker 1: have a distraction.
- 32:52Speaker 2: They don't want them to get, you know, sidetracked by
- 32:54Speaker 2: these flies and their ears flicking. But I did, knowing
- 32:57Speaker 2: very little about horses, think it was interesting they wore
- 32:59Speaker 2: them on their ride as well.
- 33:01Speaker 3: That's all. They made the horses look very regal. I
- 33:05Speaker 3: was like, is this is this medieval time? So what's happening?
- 33:09Speaker 3: Totally same scene? How terrible was the digital fall that
- 33:14Speaker 3: they added? It was awful? Right, like I wrote, am
- 33:17Speaker 3: I watching Avatar Like it was so weird looking like
- 33:23Speaker 3: they had Scott Porter in like one third of the
- 33:27Speaker 3: screen and then the other other part of the screen
- 33:30Speaker 3: was like all digital Like it was terble. Why don't
- 33:35Speaker 3: do it? Like trees are trees. We don't need like
- 33:38Speaker 3: the orange brown, I mean, I don't, I don't need that.
- 33:44Speaker 3: I'm sure there was like it was beautiful enough there
- 33:46Speaker 3: that people would have just been like, oh, that's beautiful
- 33:49Speaker 3: and then move on.
- 33:53Speaker 2: I agree, And I again, I think there's other ways
- 33:55Speaker 2: to add in a fall fest. Have them carving a
- 33:57Speaker 2: pumpkin while they're having one of these conversations that they have,
- 33:59Speaker 2: have the making an apple pie, have them doing something
- 34:02Speaker 2: shopping for a caramel apple. I don't know that there
- 34:04Speaker 2: are other ways to do other than these fake because
- 34:08Speaker 2: the leaves don't change everywhere, and I'm sure they change
- 34:10Speaker 2: in Connecticut, but like, the leaves don't change here, and
- 34:13Speaker 2: it's still fall, and I could still make a California.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Movie feel like Fall.
- 34:17Speaker 2: I could still be on that set and be like,
- 34:19Speaker 2: here are all of the ways that you could take
- 34:21Speaker 2: this movie set in California and make it feel like
- 34:24Speaker 2: fall without fake orange leaves.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Call me Hallmark, Let's talk.
- 34:27Speaker 3: I mean seriously, Like, I think we have so many
- 34:29Speaker 3: good ideas.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Okay, speaking of bad ideas.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 34:35Speaker 2: At the competition, there is loudspeaker commentary happening, happening throughout
- 34:39Speaker 2: the race, and it's the kind of commentary that you
- 34:41Speaker 2: would hear on television, right, And the announcer says things like.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Not a great run. She's okay as long as she
- 34:49Speaker 1: doesn't get in her head. She got to work cut
- 34:51Speaker 1: out for her.
- 34:52Speaker 2: But these are comments being made over the loudspeaker so
- 34:57Speaker 2: that the writers themselves can hear it. Y. I just
- 35:00Speaker 2: it seems that the loudspeaker should be like And next
- 35:02Speaker 2: up is Sam writing Joey and her time was this,
- 35:07Speaker 2: or she got X number of faults, but not the commentary.
- 35:12Speaker 2: The writer doesn't need to hear that. It's like the
- 35:15Speaker 2: baseball player. You're like, ooh, he's you know, can't get
- 35:18Speaker 2: that fastball. Like the picture doesn't want to hear that.
- 35:21Speaker 2: You don't say that to the picture, and so it's like,
- 35:25Speaker 2: you know, the how bad dang Mike Troud who hasn't
- 35:29Speaker 2: hit a home run in three weeks?
- 35:31Speaker 3: Like it?
- 35:33Speaker 2: Like, I well thought it was odd, And again, I
- 35:36Speaker 2: think it would have been very easy. We know that
- 35:40Speaker 2: there's not going to be like televised commentary, but you
- 35:43Speaker 2: could have set someone up in a booth with a
- 35:45Speaker 2: microphone and pretended like that's not the loudspeaker commentary we're hearing.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, that would have been a better idea. Or
- 35:53Speaker 3: I was going to suggest earlier this year there was
- 35:55Speaker 3: like that scheme movie. I can't remember that. It was
- 35:58Speaker 3: called Yeah Yeah, But they did it look like we
- 36:00Speaker 3: were watching ESPN, Like they had like the little ticker
- 36:04Speaker 3: thing at the bottom and all that stuff.
- 36:05Speaker 2: So like they're supposed to believe this is a televisable
- 36:08Speaker 2: event based on the beginning of the movie.
- 36:11Speaker 3: Right, exactly, and that it was like the biggest competition
- 36:15Speaker 3: of the year.
- 36:17Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Having two people sitting like at a table with microphones
- 36:22Speaker 2: as if this commentary is being played somewhere, I think
- 36:25Speaker 2: would have been a better option.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Agree prior to this this is my very last Did
- 36:30Speaker 3: you see that when Sam takes over riding for her dad,
- 36:34Speaker 3: which how stubborn is her dad? First of all, like
- 36:37Speaker 3: yours just breaks his arm or does pop him back on?
- 36:40Speaker 3: I'm still gonna ride this? I was like, yeah, definitely
- 36:43Speaker 3: dad vibes there. So when she jumps on like the
- 36:49Speaker 3: horse for the first time and they're all watching her
- 36:52Speaker 3: and they're like trying to build this tension as she's
- 36:54Speaker 3: like going round and round and round, and the ring
- 36:58Speaker 3: right before her like first jump, but it just kept
- 37:00Speaker 3: going round and round, and like you would see like
- 37:04Speaker 3: their family like is she gonna take the jumb is
- 37:07Speaker 3: she gonna do it? And then finally like they do it,
- 37:10Speaker 3: and it was like that was lame, but it just
- 37:13Speaker 3: they were trying to build all this tension. It was
- 37:16Speaker 3: like this never ending scene and then they had these
- 37:19Speaker 3: super weird camera angles, like almost if she was wearing
- 37:22Speaker 3: like a go pro.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Gobro Yes, it was so weird.
- 37:27Speaker 3: It was bizarre, bizarre.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Agree.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Okay, so you said you really liked this movie.
- 37:37Speaker 1: What does that translate to in a rating?
- 37:40Speaker 3: I gave it three stars.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Wow.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Half I almost want to knock half a star off
- 37:47Speaker 3: because of the fall situation. But I really loved Scott Porter,
- 37:52Speaker 3: and this was really the first movie that I was like,
- 37:56Speaker 3: oh into the chemistry that the two actors had.
- 38:00Speaker 1: So three stars for me.
- 38:01Speaker 3: And I really love this set between her and her dad.
- 38:04Speaker 3: So yeah, three stars.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Well, next week is Love Strikes Twice, which is a
- 38:09Speaker 2: bit of like a second chance time travel love triangle situation,
- 38:14Speaker 2: so it will be interesting to see.
- 38:15Speaker 1: How they do that.
- 38:18Speaker 2: The previews say that she's thirty seven years old and
- 38:21Speaker 2: she goes back in time fifteen years t when she's
- 38:24Speaker 2: twenty two, and my husband's like, we're supposed to believe
- 38:26Speaker 2: she's twenty two in these scenes, or is like her
- 38:28Speaker 2: thirty seven year old self reliving. Sometimes those things don't
- 38:32Speaker 2: work so well, Like it's not like Marty McFly as
- 38:35Speaker 2: a high schooler going back in time as a high schooler.
- 38:38Speaker 1: So we shall see.
- 38:40Speaker 2: We're gonna have to suspend our disbelief in that one.
- 38:43Speaker 2: But that's movie four next week. I really like that actress.
- 38:47Speaker 2: She was in Zoe's Extraordinary Playlist Yeah, in the second
- 38:51Speaker 2: season and which by the way, was canceled. But they're
- 38:56Speaker 2: making a Zoe's Extraordinary Christmas movie. But yes, wait movie
- 39:00Speaker 2: like for TV or for theater? No, it's for Roku.
- 39:06Speaker 2: But what I haven't figured out is is it only
- 39:09Speaker 2: like if you don't have a Roku player?
- 39:11Speaker 1: Will it stream anywhere else? That? I don't know, So
- 39:14Speaker 1: there's a sidebar on that one.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Again.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Don't forget to.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Come back tomorrow for our Hallmark Countdown to Christmas preview special.
- 39:22Speaker 2: If you have any thoughts about this movie or any
- 39:24Speaker 2: other Hallmark movies, feel free to drop us an email
- 39:27Speaker 2: at Megan and Wendy at gmail dot com.

- 39:33Speaker 3: Goodbye bye,
