  But we had some Hasbro conversation because we were

  covering the June 1993 episode of RAW amongst other things in

  the 200th episode. But this was covering the 123
• 2:55
  kid in Poughkeepsie, NY, you know, taking home that $10,000

  and we were asking about the the had a Hasbro commercial.

  We were asking that were Skinner and Virgil still on the roster
• 3:08
  in June of 1993? And the answer was yes for

  Virgil only, but not for dinner. So Virgil was here essentially,

  you know, briefly. He even goes into 1995 briefly
• 3:27
  as he returns a little bit. But ultimately, Virgil's time in
• 3:31
  the spotlight began to fade, as it says on the the Wikipedia, in
• 3:36
  1993. But he was still on the roster
• 3:37
  through January 1994 and then actually came back in.
• 3:43
  He left WWF in August of 1994 and then he came back from May
• 3:47
  to June of 95. And then he was pretty much gone
• 3:50
  at that point. But Skinner on the other hand,
• 3:52
  his last WWF match was a house show versus Coco Beware where he
• 3:57
  won. He be Coco Beware on March 28th

  of 1993. So by June of 93 he was not

  there. But his last televised match was

  was on March 7th. There was actually two of them.

  March 7th Rd. to WrestleMania 9 he lost to Mr. Perfect in 5

  minutes and 27 seconds. And then he was on All American

  Wrestling also losing All American Heart 4 minutes 7

  seconds. But his last episode of Raw was

  in February, and his last pay-per-view was actually the 93

  Royal Rumble that we hear we have also covered.

  So that tells you all that you need to know right now.

  So this takes place. It's obviously a taped event

  because it's on a holiday and, you know, the business was not

  exactly booming. And we're going to get more into

  the timeline of what's going on in wrestling.

  But to give you a little bit of a backtracking, on December

  18th, 1995, just two weeks prior was when the infamous Medusa

  spot on WCW happened where she put the WWF Women's title in a

  garbage can on Monday Night Row. So that kind of tells you where

  things are AT and that's going to also play a part in the way

  that this Monday Night Raw ends. So as as as we get to the intro

  right, we get raw ball hype. They have gone all out for this.

  And it's, it's like a college football game atmosphere, but

  obviously indoors. And Lawler's wearing a Browns

  jersey as well. So like they're trying to mix up

  And I I came into this with these presumptions that are

  Yeah, absolutely. And then we get in and it

  actually happens the day before the 1996 NCAA national

  championship game, which is the Fiesta Bowl.

  smoking guns. Now to paint a little bit of a

  picture, it is a giant Monday night raw sign paper sign that

  Smoking guns blast their way through.

  They've got football jerseys on they've.

  Got so like homecoming. Yes, yeah, exactly.

  They've got the eye black on and their tag team titles and

  they're, they're making their way down excited.

  I don't really understand the significance behind them for the

  Was so and the weird part is during the intro to Moninet Raw,

  they reference Freddie Blassie being one of the coaches and

  then we never see Freddie Blassie again.

  He's like in the locker room, like, they're all sitting at

  desks and he's writing up plays on the chalkboard.

  And they even refer to him as Coach Freddy Blasi.

  And then we never see him again. Yep.

  Yep. There are third.

  Third team out is Razor and Savio before they can get to the

  ring we get Goldust usher. So mind you, throughout this as

  like the classic, like camera is panning out from the crowd.

  You see Goldust just sitting there next to the the Monday

  Night Raw sign. But the gold dust, he his usher

  comes down and as he's coming down to approach Razor, there's
• 13:07
  a fan. There's a fan in the aisle.

  And Jerry Lawler is like essentially like, you idiot,

  that's gold dust. Usher.

  And Usher then hands golden flowers to Razor as he gets
• 13:18
  smacked around. And this.

  Yeah, I'll let you. This is the perfect opportunity

  for us to to share how forced the commentary was, how just

  over the top Vince and Lawler are with just trying to shove in
• 13:36
  as many football words as physically possible.

  I think we've just witnessed an illegal forward pass.

  Well, certainly an incomplete one as we see the remnants of

  what appear to be Gold Roses. You have to question the Gold

  Well, I think that Razor was way out of bounds when he didn't

  accept that gift. Well, let's just hope that Gold

  Bowl. That that is just like a small

  sample of how nauseating this entire matches.

  Yes, nauseating is the perfect word for it.

  In every way, shape or form, they shoehorn football lingo

  into the entire evening. And it's so frustrating because

  it's so over the top. And to me it feels like, you

  know, we learned this was taped, right?

  Because they were talking about how, you know, Nick said the

  business wasn't great at this point in time, this is pre taped

  and all of that. I am convinced just based on

  this that they were legitimately reading off of a script and that

  they post production, yeah, post production.

  They like recorded this after the deal of the match was
• 14:47
  already going on. Even though they've showed
• 14:49
  Lawler and and and Vince ringside and they cut to them

  every once in a while. But like, to me this is like an

  clean overdub or because there's no way that they were writing or

  reading from a script ringside. Although maybe.

  They could have been maybe right, I don't know, but they

  use it so much it's it's painful at times.

  I I believe, and if you listen to it too, the audio is almost a

  little like, it sounds like it's got that like overlay.

  King King doesn't feel natural. No, not at all.

  really the thing that throws me off the most is you know, Vince

  can be Vince and it sounds like he's reading in some instances

  because he's trying to shoe hornish stick in or tell the

  But King is always spontaneous. He always feels like he's not

  planned out. And when he does, it's a joke

  rules, right? So each team gets a time out for

  use at any time in the match and it's elimination rules, Pinfall,

  DQ, count out submission, any player may be tagged in.

  Once tagged in, you must make contact with another person in

  the match before tagging out. What?

  Whoa. All right, so as I'm hearing

  these rules and I'm seeing these teams, I'm also wondering does

  they're line up in their three-point stance and charge

  up because nothing really happens in this match.

  No, not at all. It's a lot of just tag here, tag

  there, they do the. Design, Larry, It's over and

  over again. They do the tag where, you know,

  Billy Gunn gets tagged in and now it's Billy versus Bart and

  they have to touch there. It has to be physical contact

  and you know, they they shoot each other off the ropes,

  headlock, takedown, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

  And then they both run over and double tag in Owen and Yoko.

  And now Owen and Yoko need to come in and Yoko still has the

  jersey on, but it's essentially cut like a poncho, like there's
• 19:18
  no sleeves in it. Like regular size football

  jersey, classic nylon through holes, like the thing that you

  can think of early mountains football, except his is just cut
• 19:30
  straight through because he's so massive. 641 lbs like we talked
• 19:34
  about earlier. Early on in the game, Owen

  stalls so Earl Hebner threatens to throw a delay of game play.

  Owen gets knocked down which brings in Savio at this point.

  And Hebner has a legitimate yeah lag in his back pocket and he

  takes it out of his back pocket like I'm going to throw it.

  Like everything is so forced and over the top that it's it's

  laughable. It's seriously.

  There's an absurd amount of back and forth between all 8

  wrestlers involved in this match.

  Everybody gets in, everybody's mixing and matching.

  really happening. We get 123 kid comes in now

  again, this is heal 123 kids, which is kind of interesting

  considering what we just covered, you know, on the last

  episode. They're also hyping up Shawn

  Michaels and his possible retirement, how Owen just hit

  him with the Inseguri and he's been out of action for quite a
• 20:35
  while now. This takes me back.

  So I'm going to call a time out. And I think the most interesting

  part that we haven't talked about is this is such an extra

  cooler thing, a show thing for us to do right now, right?

  We covered the 1996 Royal Rumble, which happens in late

  January. Now we're we're like, we enjoyed

  that so much. Let's go back a few weeks and

  cover the Raw Bowl. We're going back in time.

  But again, this is all build up to the Royal Rumble itself.

  joke when they're talking about Sid and what conference he's

  This is so strange. Calls a time out and the ref

  makes Razor stop the beat down and he does the Razor's edge to

  123 Kid while Hepner is yelling at Dibiase, which again makes no

  sense. Your own team called the time

  out. This whole thing is a hot mess.

  Sid hit then hits Razor with a clothesline from behind if and
• 22:19
  then he puts 123 Kid on top of him for the pin.

  Mind you, this is 10 minutes into the match.

  We finally get our first elimination and. 16 minutes into

  the show, like so there's 60, there's 6 minutes of bullshit,

  and then there's 10 minutes of match, and then finally
• 22:36
  something eventually happens for the very first time.

  Oh God. Then we we get to a break and I
• 22:42
  still don't understand what the point in the time out is.

  It makes absolutely no sense. But we return from break and
• 22:50
  Bart is getting worked over by all the heels.

  Owen hits him with shoulder blocks in the corner and a
• 22:55
  suplex for two. Ref gets distracted by Jim
• 22:59
  Cornette and Yoko sets up a splash on Billy in the corner.

  I actually thought this was kind of creative in a way.

  I had never remembered seeing anything like this.

  So I'm going to try my best to paint the picture as I'm
• 23:12
  painting a lot of pictures in this episode.

  Owen is standing over Billy as Yoko is going up for the splash,
• 23:20
  and in comes Bart. He pulls Billy's legs.

  For whatever reason, Owen's standing over him and as he
• 23:27
  pulls his legs, Billy grabs Owen's legs.

  It forces Owen to fall flat on his face under Yoko's splash.

  His bonsai drop and he takes the move and Billy then gets the pin
• 23:41
  to eliminate Owen and Yokozuna 16 minutes into this match.

  I thought that was really good too.

  I I thought it was a creative little little piece here.

  It was probably the only highlight of that so easily, if
• 23:54
  we're being serious. But yeah, this was, this was
