- 0:00Speaker 1: Email interest.
- 0:05Speaker 2: First, good morning, Carrie, Bill and Gina. I just wanted
- 0:10Speaker 2: to say thank you again for the support. It honestly
- 0:14Speaker 2: means everything from you three as a proud friend of
- 0:17Speaker 2: the program. Getting encouragement from the voices I listened to
- 0:21Speaker 2: every morning is pretty surreal. It's a full circle moment.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Speaking of full circle, now, this is Julie Jules Avelino,
- 0:30Speaker 2: who's the second grade teacher in Ogden Ogden Preparatory Academy,
- 0:36Speaker 2: and she's in this Teacher of the Year competition. So
- 0:39Speaker 2: speaking of full circle, I was just on Radioactive talking
- 0:43Speaker 2: about education and this wild contest journey and realized that
- 0:47Speaker 2: you had just been featured for your fortieth anniversary. I
- 0:50Speaker 2: didn't know that on Radioactive.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Our friend who interviewed us said she went on there
- 0:56Speaker 3: and talked.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Oh she did.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Yeah, Oh oh I didn't. I didn't know that. Oh yeah,
- 1:00Speaker 2: perfect timing or radio fate. Also quick update because things
- 1:04Speaker 2: just got very real. We are officially in group finals. Okay,
- 1:10Speaker 2: this is where it gets really scary. I have to
- 1:13Speaker 2: finish in first place to move on from there. It's
- 1:16Speaker 2: basically Teacher March Madness quarter Finals. April twenty seventh, Reset
- 1:20Speaker 2: New group, Semifinals, Reset again, Finals, Reset again, one last push.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I'm in the I'm in first on May twenty second.
- 1:30Speaker 2: If I'm in first on May twenty second, this Ogden
- 1:33Speaker 2: teacher will win America's Favorite Teacher. Hey, now you've already
- 1:38Speaker 2: rallied the friends of the program once and it made
- 1:40Speaker 2: a huge difference. Thank you. The support that's come from
- 1:43Speaker 2: this has absolutely blown me away, especially from people I've
- 1:46Speaker 2: never even met. My gratitude for that is endless, no pressure,
- 1:50Speaker 2: just my entire emotional stability riding on daily voices. So
- 1:54Speaker 2: I encourage listeners to set a daily reminder on their
- 1:57Speaker 2: phones to vote until May twenty first, because, let's be honest,
- 2:02Speaker 2: they're probably already scrolling for Facebook anyway. Also, Gina, I
- 2:08Speaker 2: have to ask, did you get a chance to walk
- 2:11Speaker 2: on the lava while you were in Hawaii? My Ohana
- 2:16Speaker 2: lives on the islands, and every time I visit, that
- 2:19Speaker 2: experience never gets old. There's something really special about seeing Pele.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I guess that's the volcano. Seeing Pele in action. It's powerful, humbling,
- 2:29Speaker 2: and kind of unforgettable. I'd love to hear if you
- 2:31Speaker 2: had a moment like that. I'm guessing the answer.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Is no no, because and I actually never talked about this.
- 2:38Speaker 3: It was one of the stories I forgot to tell.
- 2:41Speaker 3: They had a red volcano watch, which is like, this
- 2:46Speaker 3: is really really super active. So they had closed the
- 2:49Speaker 3: part of the park where you can usually go and
- 2:51Speaker 3: watch because it was it was that active. I watched
- 2:55Speaker 3: it on Instagram. They had cameras of it, very very impressive.
- 3:00Speaker 2: So Jules says, thanks again for being such a constant
- 3:03Speaker 2: in the community and for making mornings in Utah actually enjoyable.
- 3:06Speaker 2: If she manages to win this whole thing, she gets
- 3:10Speaker 2: Bill Ny the science guy, to come to her school,
- 3:13Speaker 2: her second grade class in Ogden. That would be so great,
- 3:16Speaker 2: It would be really cool. So the way you vote
- 3:19Speaker 2: is America's Favorite Teacher dot org twenty slash twenty twenty
- 3:24Speaker 2: six slash Julie Dash Avelino. All that a V E
- 3:32Speaker 2: L L I n O. So America's favorite teacher dot
- 3:36Speaker 2: org slash twenty twenty six slash Julie Dash Avelino, Katie,
- 3:42Speaker 2: you'll post that on all of our social media and
- 3:44Speaker 2: reiterated again, will you please so vote for her? And
- 3:49Speaker 2: she may I don't know, she may make it to
- 3:51Speaker 2: number the America's favorite teacher. That would be really incredible.
- 3:55Speaker 2: So there's that, and we're happy to help out. And
- 3:59Speaker 2: then there's one other emails, kind of a short one here. Hello,
- 4:03Speaker 2: lords and lady. I want to reiterate, Gina is not
- 4:08Speaker 2: a lady. She's really fooled. Gina is a lord of
- 4:13Speaker 2: morning radio. She's one of the three Lords of morning Radio.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Says Hello, I am a longtime listener and a hot
- 4:23Speaker 2: air balloon owner and pilot. I heard you talking about
- 4:27Speaker 2: the hot air balloon that landed in somebody's backyard, and
- 4:31Speaker 2: I wanted to see if you'd all like to go
- 4:32Speaker 2: for a ride sometime. Nope, I promised that Gina won't
- 4:36Speaker 2: die this way. I can't promise that it is the
- 4:38Speaker 2: safest form of air travel can but she could always
- 4:44Speaker 2: just stay on the ground with my lovely crew. Check
- 4:47Speaker 2: us out and let me know if there's any interest.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Kind regards. Pilot Ryan and sent me a link to
- 4:57Speaker 2: It's called Wild Fout Flower Balloon Rides and you can
- 5:01Speaker 2: uh and they're up in Hebrew, up in the Hebrew
- 5:03Speaker 2: Valley and you can charter a balloon rock.
- 5:07Speaker 3: I love watching hot air balloons, So they're up in
- 5:12Speaker 3: Ogden Valley all the time. You can see you can
- 5:16Speaker 3: see all the time, and I love watching them, but
- 5:19Speaker 3: to be in.
- 5:20Speaker 2: One, I you know. So I'm looking at the pictures
- 5:24Speaker 2: that that are on her website. I think Ryan is
- 5:28Speaker 2: I think Ryan is a woman. But at any rate,
- 5:33Speaker 2: it's it's just beautiful. I mean, uh, it's a wildflower
- 5:38Speaker 2: balloon rides dot com and and it shows them like
- 5:41Speaker 2: there's one picture where they're in the basket and the
- 5:43Speaker 2: balloon and it's on the backdrop is like I think
- 5:47Speaker 2: it's Mount Tipanogus and it's you know, covered with snow,
- 5:51Speaker 2: and I thought, I scare the crap out of mine.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I am sure, it's an amazing way to see things
- 5:57Speaker 3: and and I think it would probably be really cool.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Wyatt mm hm.
- 6:02Speaker 2: You remember years ago, I think it was Joe Cannon
- 6:07Speaker 2: who was running for political office, and he had a
- 6:11Speaker 2: brought they were US fielders Chris Cannon, so it was
- 6:13Speaker 2: either Chris or Joe, and they had a hot air
- 6:16Speaker 2: balloon that had that would looked like whoever it was Chris, Yeah,
- 6:21Speaker 2: I mean it's a big hot air balloon and it
- 6:23Speaker 2: looked like one of the whoever, whichever Cannon brother told
- 6:27Speaker 2: them that's the way to go. And it got and
- 6:30Speaker 2: it got away. Yeah, and I just I should look
- 6:33Speaker 2: this story up. It got away, didn't didn't do any
- 6:35Speaker 2: much damage or anything or hurt anybody.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I disagree with that line. It's the safest form of
- 6:41Speaker 1: air travel. Totally disagree. Well, put it up.
- 6:46Speaker 2: I bet they, I bet pilot pilot Ryan probably has statistics.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Statistics I don't believe.
- 6:53Speaker 2: But even if they showed you statistics, Carrie, you would
- 6:56Speaker 2: still not go up in that balloon.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I would not know.
- 6:58Speaker 3: You can't get carry up in a small plane, small aircraft.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Forget it.
- 7:02Speaker 2: When he's he'll go on a big plane, but he
- 7:04Speaker 2: pretends it's something else.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Hill and I have done a few different plane things. Well,
- 7:09Speaker 3: we did the SUU the plane because they have the
- 7:13Speaker 3: aviation school there, and then there was that school in
- 7:16Speaker 3: Ogden that we actually flew small planes.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Carrie was like, Nope, nope, not doing it.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I actually flew a plane.
- 7:23Speaker 1: There are more small plane accidents every day, and there
- 7:28Speaker 1: are big plane accidents every day. Big plane, I'm good,
- 7:32Speaker 1: small plane balloons, forget it. You're coming down, baby, You're
- 7:37Speaker 1: coming down. Email over in trast
