A heartbreaking tragedy struck Randallstown Tuesday morning when 60-year-old John Bates Sr. was fatally struck by a car while crossing Liberty Road and Old Court Road at 4:45 AM. The driver, a 2025 Hyundai Elantra, fled the scene but returned shortly after. Police are investigating, as this is the seventh pedestrian fatality in Baltimore County this year — a grim reminder of the urgent need for road safety awareness.
