Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Here's what I've learned: building businesses, investing in real estate, running ultra marathons, and just facing challenges that honestly went exactly the opposite of how I planned it.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: The people who are winning, they're never the most talented.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: They're the ones that stay in the game long enough just to figure it out.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: And not because they never fail, but because they refuse to let the failure become their final decision.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: They adjust, they learn, they keep moving.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: You know, persistence, it doesn't mean that you just keep doing the same thing over and over, whether it's clearly not working.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: If it's not working, you say, okay, I'm doing this, it's not working.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Am I on the right path and I just have to put more work into it, or do I need to adjust?
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: It's staying committed to the mission while being willing to change the method.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: All right, let's go if you're tired of not feeling fit, tired, just having a focus, tired, just not having the life that you deserve.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: This is the place to be.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: I'm Jason Yarussi, and today let's just talk about the strategy of being patient, but being persistence.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: You know, everybody wants success.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Everybody wants the breakthrough.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Everybody wants the result, but few people are willing to do what it takes to actually get there.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Because success requires two things that most people struggle with and hold at the same time.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: And that's patience and persistence.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Patience is that ability to wait for the result without losing your focus.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Persistence is that ability to keep showing up even when you don't see the result right now.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: And here's where most people get it wrong.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: They think that, yeah, they're going to be patient when they should be persistent, and they're going to be persistent when they're going to be patient.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: They want to wait and they want to say, okay, I'm willing to let this result come, but then they force things to develop before they're ready.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: The secret here is just knowing the difference.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Patience, it's not about passivity.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: People confuse patience.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: They think that just being patient is just sitting around waiting for the thing to happen.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Well, no, that that's not patience.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: That's hoping.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Real patience is doing the work today while understanding that result.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: That result, it might not show up tomorrow.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: It might not show up next week, next month, next year.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: It might take years.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Think about building a business.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: You don't build something meaningful in 30 days.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: You don't say, okay, here we go.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Even with the power of AI today, you can't just plug something in and say, okay, here we go.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: And then it's just magically there.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: You can't build your reputation in a week.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: You don't create financial freedom overnight.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: You don't build it and go and have and make a thousand decisions nobody sees.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: You're doing all the work.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: And then you have to allow it to manifest.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Allow it, that work that you've put in to build, to nurture, to create, right?
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: It's the seeds you plant.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: And then in years, you see the fruit of that one seed that you've watered day in and day out.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: And that's the hardest part because we're living in a world right now where everybody wants to see everything immediately.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: You know, my younger kids, they say they're the microwave generation.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: They want to put something in the microwave, 30 seconds, they have it, right?
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: And that's the power of having a phone where you can get almost immediate results, immediate gratification, immediate success.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: But the things worth having usually take longer than you want.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: You know, patience, it doesn't mean that you get to abandon your long-term goal because you're uncomfortable with the short-term timeline.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: You have to be there putting in the work day in and day out and understand that if you are putting in good work, those results will come.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: And then that persistence, that is the price of admission.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: You know, here's the other side.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: You know, patience without persistence is just waiting.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: You can't just sit back and say, well, I'm trusting the process.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: You can trust the process while doing the work.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: You have to show up when you're tired, when things aren't working, when nobody is paying attention to you, or nobody's believing in you, when you're questioning whether any of this is worth it, you got to get up tomorrow and go after it.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: That's the persistence.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: And here's what I've learned: building businesses, investing in real estate, running ultramarathons, and just facing challenges that honestly went exactly the opposite of how I planned it.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: The people who are winning, they're never the most talented.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: They're the ones that stay in the game long enough just to figure it out.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: And not because they never fail, but because they refuse to let the failure become their final decision.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: They adjust, they learn, they keep moving.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: You know, persistence, it doesn't mean that you just keep doing the same thing over and over, whether it's clearly not working.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: If it's not working, you say, okay, I'm doing this, it's not working.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: Am I on the right path and I just have to put more work into it, or do I need to adjust?
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: It's staying committed to the mission while being willing to change the method.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: That's the danger of just quitting too early.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: Most people they quit right before things start working.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: You start that business six months later, you're frustrated, you feel like you you threw it all away and they're not working.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: And then three weeks later, you you could see that transformation.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: You start investing and the market moves against them and immediately, right?
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Robinhood has the power of the green, the red, right?
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: And each day they're capturing your emotions because it's up.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay, let me buy more.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's down.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: Let me sell everything.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Well, you assume because of short-term reactions, right, that your strategy is not working.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: But if you believe in the thesis, over time, the investment has the ability to have the power of progress.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: You confuse the slow progress with no progress.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: And that's the dangerous part because you think the results you're looking for often are being built in moments.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: And it's really when you pan out, you see that the result is the effort of many moments that build into the larger result.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: You know, you think about running an ultramarathon.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: You can't run 50 miles thinking about mile 50.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: You have to start thinking about how many get through mile one, mile two.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: And some may feel terrible.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: And sometimes you may want to quit.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: But if you keep focused on the moment, let me just get to the next mile here.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: Then after hours, eight hours, nine hours, 15 hours, you get to the result of 50 miles.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: You just have to just keep moving forward to the finish line.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: That's life, that's business, and that's leadership.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: You know, the discipline to do both is the challenge that I want to put in front of you today.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Can you be aggressive with your actions while being patient for the outcomes?
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Can you work with urgency without demanding immediate success?
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Can you stay committed when the timeline changes?
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Because that's where real growth happens.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: You think something's going to happen within a week.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: Well, when it doesn't, or when the timeline adjusts, or when that closing gets moved, or when that company, I was going to buy your company, no longer does it.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: Do you have the fortitude to say, I'm on the right track.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Keep putting in the work.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: You can't just keep chasing something new each time that something doesn't work out for you.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: The most powerful decision you can keep doing is doing the thing right now that's working and allowing it to build.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: This is what Live 100's about.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: It's not a competing with someone else's timeline.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: It's not comparing your chapter three to somebody else's chapter 20.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: It's about winning today against yourself, your mind, your money, your muscles.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Every single day you're putting in that little bit of work.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: You don't control when the opportunity comes, you control the actions you have today.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: That's what Live 100 is.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: That's what you're made for.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: That's what you're ready for.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: All right, if you found this powerful, go out and share this with someone that needs to hear this message today.
