- 0:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, now she gets quiet out here.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: I know, for wanting to tell her aunt that the homemade gift she gave her was not what she wanted.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: And would have preferred to get nothing at all.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: So homemade gifts are something that were very prominent on my mom's side growing up.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: And do you want to know what?
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: My answer is you don't say anything at all.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Because back in the day I hated those gifts.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: Now I will randomly, they're always Christmas, and they're always, remember those yarn things that it would be like it would be a square plastic and it would be yarn, but it would look like a cardinal or something.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I bet I have one.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: I need to find this for exactly.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: It's either that or if you have the old comet uh cleaner, the the old you know, shakeable uh comet cleaner thing.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they still make that.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: It'd be the rabbit over the top of it that would have been crocheted.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: Aunt Marion had a couple.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: So when I do come across that in all of my Christmas decorations, you pull out the bin and I'll have that random like yarn ornament that's that was plastic.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: And then they she yarned in a design like a snowflake or whatever, then I I really love it.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Ah, yeah.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Are homemade gifts now just the same run of the mill, you see them at vendor fairs.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: It's your because when I see a homemade gift now that you got me from a vendor fair, it's probably gonna end up on Facebook Marketplace or a garage.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: Oh, right, exactly.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: Or if if it even goes that far.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: I mean, it might end up in the garbage can.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Can I tell you the best homemade gift?
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: Uh uh, this is a great one.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: So apparently years ago, Tiffany used to make a it was like a charcuterie board, and they were homemade.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's a good homemade gift.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're right.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: It was a homemade, they were like homemade um well, like think of pepperoni or salami and stuff like that.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Like she knew how to make.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Wait, she was actually like making she made the salami.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: Wow and she made the you know, all these things.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: So the gift She's been practicing for years.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, years.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Uh, and uh, I mean, she hid it somewhere because she hasn't made it yet for me.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: There's my hired the salami joke.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Okay, it took a second.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: But um, the the thing about it is is that's a great gift if you give somebody their own personal charcuterie board, because you can get the boards anywhere, and you've made the salami, and then you just go buy some nice cheeses at Aldi.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I can tell you that my It's the only homemade gift I want.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Zach would not like this at all.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: I was just telling him that the other day, one of our white elephant gifts that always appears at the Payne family Christmas, my aunt makes this Puerto Rican rice.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: So she used to date this Puerto Rican guy and learned how to cook how they cook.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: I don't know why rice doesn't sound as good as the charcuterie board.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: It's so good.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: And he's like, wait, you guys all like clamor over this rice?
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: And I said, I know, I'm having a hard time too.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: It's the best rice, and everyone loves it.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: And he's like, No.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, I don't know.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Charcuterie board, yes.
