- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up on Relatables. I think this is one you're
- 0:03Speaker 1: probably still going to agree on, okay, but I think
- 0:05Speaker 1: this is definitely a hill I'm willing to die on.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Is guys know how to be good partners, but consciously
- 0:12Speaker 1: choose not to. I think I'm with you on this one.
- 0:28Speaker 1: The Relatables podcast is hosted by myself, Audie Clark aka
- 0:32Speaker 1: Mummy and my partner in crime, mister Jake Craig aka
- 0:35Speaker 1: Father Christmas, Father Christmas. Guys, it's in a couple of days.
- 0:39Speaker 1: It's very exciting this time of year. And Jake, that
- 0:43Speaker 1: was disgusting. That's fine, mate, I've got it on video.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I'm going to edit in a way where everyone sees
- 0:48Speaker 1: that you just shut yourself. That is disgusting, shows some respect. Dude,
- 0:52Speaker 1: Are you serious? Is that the first time on camera? Yes?
- 0:55Speaker 1: This is like I actually know of our workplace. Man.
- 1:00Speaker 2: The what you're trying to tell me that when you
- 1:03Speaker 2: were fucking trimming hedges as a gardener, you wouldn't rip
- 1:07Speaker 2: a few?
- 1:07Speaker 1: I would walk out. So you're so, he's you drink skies?
- 1:16Speaker 2: Fucking hell, yount know what I would do as a bartender,
- 1:18Speaker 2: because I'd walk through the kitchen and crop us the
- 1:20Speaker 2: whole kitchen, and then I would go get out of
- 1:22Speaker 2: the fridge.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Out of the back and get you have always had
- 1:24Speaker 1: no respect. I was hyping you up to saying your
- 1:28Speaker 1: Father Christmas, but now you're more like, what's you're the Grinch? Dude?
- 1:32Speaker 1: For the Grinch? You can't look like the grin? Can
- 1:33Speaker 1: I can? I actually say?
- 1:35Speaker 2: Is the Grinch more famous than Father Christmas?
- 1:39Speaker 1: That's a good question, though, it is a good question.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I don't think so, but like it's got to be
- 1:44Speaker 1: up there who villain ship.
- 1:46Speaker 2: He's the most famous as like the opposite of Santa.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Did you see Jim Carrey's coming out of retirement
- 1:51Speaker 1: apparently because he needs money? I did see that on TikTok.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Can't be true.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I saw a video of someone going, so what got
- 1:58Speaker 2: you out of retirement? And he goes blah blah blah,
- 2:01Speaker 2: and he goes and I spent a lot of money.
- 2:03Speaker 2: That has to be a joke.
- 2:04Speaker 1: He was the first actor to get fifty million dollars
- 2:06Speaker 1: from one film, and you know what, imagine having fifteen
- 2:10Speaker 1: million dollars.
- 2:10Speaker 2: There's no way he doesn't still have that fifty million dollars.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Yeah, That's what I want to know.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Is the reason I think it's a joke is because
- 2:18Speaker 2: that is too much money to be able to.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Say that was one film and he's done. That's not
- 2:23Speaker 1: even what's dumb and Dumber? That was huge, wasn't it?
- 2:25Speaker 1: Maybe the one?
- 2:26Speaker 2: Maybe Dumb and Dumber came out first, but maybe and
- 2:28Speaker 2: the other one came out.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I don't know. The Grinch is old.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Can I even say, like, I like Jim Carrey, I
- 2:33Speaker 2: don't like him, Okay, thank god, because I don't like him.
- 2:37Speaker 1: He's mad jarring. I think he's a perfect person for
- 2:39Speaker 1: the Grinch, but like watching him, no, normally, I don't know.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I don't find him funny.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I was expecting you to be a fan, so I
- 2:43Speaker 2: was just gonna be like, he's all right. So I
- 2:45Speaker 2: actually don't really like him that much.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I just don't him.
- 2:47Speaker 2: But I don't find him funny. But I'm sure he's talented.
- 2:51Speaker 2: I think he's very talented about the contortions of the
- 2:53Speaker 2: face and the comedy.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Yes, it was like the first to do that.
- 2:55Speaker 2: He's very talented, But are any of his roles fifty
- 3:00Speaker 2: million dollars worth of Like, I don't know talent, what.
- 3:04Speaker 1: About not to take it in the Red Red One.
- 3:07Speaker 1: We spoke about that, didn't we. Yeah, and he got like,
- 3:10Speaker 1: how about.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Fifty million dollars for Red One and the and it
- 3:14Speaker 2: costs three hundred and fifty to make.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Wise man still doing movies. But sure he's like cheering
- 3:18Speaker 1: if I had fifty mili come out of the game.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Oh yeah, what point he doesn't do it for the
- 3:22Speaker 2: love of it? No, no, he obviously does. Oh yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 2: he's not doing it for the money.
- 3:27Speaker 1: First. That s where Mawana made like equivalent the same
- 3:29Speaker 1: amount too. They actually did good.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Now I would say he's got to be still be
- 3:31Speaker 2: doing it for the money because like that, he doesn't.
- 3:35Speaker 1: He doesn't love that the world. He doesn't love that
- 3:37Speaker 1: role Moanna, Well he loves that. Yeah the role in
- 3:40Speaker 1: Red One? Surely he doesn't love that role. Probably did
- 3:43Speaker 1: do very good. But what I was going to say,
- 3:46Speaker 1: mister Grinch, is about a week ago, I challenge you
- 3:49Speaker 1: to go to your father's father I'm using a Christmas
- 3:53Speaker 1: word and say your dad father's Christmas party, yeah, and
- 3:56Speaker 1: infiltrate it and get some information of how we can
- 3:58Speaker 1: host the best ride off a bull Christmas party ever
- 4:02Speaker 1: for all of relatable studios, which is Jake and I. Yes,
- 4:08Speaker 1: and you had it? How was it? Firstly?
- 4:10Speaker 2: Firstly, it was it was pretty cool. Actually, they hired
- 4:13Speaker 2: out this kind of whole little bore room and there
- 4:16Speaker 2: was all these circle tables that you went down. We
- 4:18Speaker 2: had like two course meal, three courts including dessert, three
- 4:22Speaker 2: course meal. Yeah, it was actually pretty good.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Is there any benefit to go on like full commit
- 4:26Speaker 1: and getting like a fancy like place.
- 4:29Speaker 2: If you've got the money, I would say yes, right,
- 4:32Speaker 2: But these motherfuckers spent like money, I think because it
- 4:35Speaker 2: was my dad's last one.
- 4:36Speaker 1: All they went all out for that.
- 4:37Speaker 2: The guy that so my dad and he had a
- 4:39Speaker 2: business partner and they owned the company together. But the
- 4:41Speaker 2: business partner basically is buying my dad's half off of
- 4:44Speaker 2: me because he's not ready to finish work construction company.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and so.
- 4:50Speaker 2: He's it's not his last Christmas party, but they threw
- 4:52Speaker 2: a big one from my dad because he's obviously.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Nice, which is nice. A couple of things I learned.
- 4:57Speaker 2: My dad's business partner very bored person. I've known him
- 5:01Speaker 2: since I was born and I've had plenty of conversations
- 5:06Speaker 2: with him, and I was like, yeah, he's just a
- 5:07Speaker 2: normal guy. Got up to do a speech. This is
- 5:10Speaker 2: my dad's last Christmas party, and this is probably like
- 5:12Speaker 2: the last big one they're going to have until he retires.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Your dad's also just the chill guy. Oh yeah, you
- 5:16Speaker 1: can take the piss and have some fun. He gets
- 5:19Speaker 1: up to do it.
- 5:20Speaker 2: They got one of their employees that was there for
- 5:21Speaker 2: seventeen years to do a speech, and it was very nice.
- 5:23Speaker 1: It was very good.
- 5:24Speaker 2: And then dad's business partner does a speech and he goes,
- 5:28Speaker 2: I haven't got much to say. I'm just going to
- 5:30Speaker 2: give a quick history of the company. Oh and he
- 5:33Speaker 2: goes through this whole history of the company and the
- 5:36Speaker 2: four projects that like actually made them go somewhere, and
- 5:39Speaker 2: everyone was just.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Like, yep, cool wasn't anything personable. Cool was nothing personable.
- 5:44Speaker 1: It was so funny.
- 5:45Speaker 2: And then I found out that my dad sucks at speaking.
- 5:48Speaker 1: To a lot of people. Dude, really, I'm talking like
- 5:52Speaker 1: I've never seen him like that. Like this, he has like.
- 5:56Speaker 2: A piece of papery unfolds, he puts it on the
- 5:58Speaker 2: fucking thing.
- 5:58Speaker 1: He's got a microphone.
- 6:00Speaker 2: First off, he's like everyone's talking away from the microphone
- 6:03Speaker 2: like this.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that's how far.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Yeah, dad goes hello and just goes.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Like, oh dad, so that's not my daddy.
- 6:15Speaker 2: And then he was doing that thing like where you
- 6:18Speaker 2: know when someone's anxious up in front of a crowd,
- 6:21Speaker 2: their mouth goes dry as fuck.
- 6:23Speaker 1: His mouth went dry. People. We're talking like ninety okay,
- 6:26Speaker 1: so fair few. And he's like he's like constantly trying
- 6:29Speaker 1: to get some spit into his mouth, and then he's swear.
- 6:31Speaker 1: It seemed like he was gonna cry. It always does,
- 6:35Speaker 1: poor god. It's so funny.
- 6:36Speaker 2: And then once the speeches were done, they had a
- 6:40Speaker 2: they got a comedian to come and or comedy even
- 6:44Speaker 2: if you're not very famous, is the game to be.
- 6:46Speaker 2: And I found out, really, this motherfucker comes came from
- 6:49Speaker 2: Sydney to the Central Coast for thirty minutes.
- 6:52Speaker 1: He did a thirty minute set.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Yeah, eight thousand dollars eight K got they got brought
- 6:58Speaker 2: him there and they put him up in a hotel
- 7:00Speaker 2: and he got eight k.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Surely that's all right off, Really, that's right off. The
- 7:04Speaker 1: entertainment for the Christian has but that is yet obviously
- 7:07Speaker 1: is but what else we can't expend eight k on?
- 7:10Speaker 1: Some what should we get some entertainment. Basically, what should
- 7:13Speaker 1: we get? Yeah, well I don't know. I don't know.
- 7:15Speaker 1: What else can we get? Carry out? Yeah, that'd be cool.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Chris, he did make a joke as soon as he
- 7:22Speaker 2: came on about like he was like, yeah, every very welcome,
- 7:25Speaker 2: Welcome to the Christmas party, blah blah, says the two
- 7:29Speaker 2: owners names, and he's like, welcome to the biggest fucking
- 7:32Speaker 2: tax right.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Off of the year. He did say that last Yeah,
- 7:35Speaker 1: so I was kind of like confirmed. So right now
- 7:38Speaker 1: we have a tax right off of a GYG dinner.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Yeah, this is if this is our Christmas party proper
- 7:44Speaker 2: we are claiming it is. Let's go yeah, fuck, let's
- 7:47Speaker 2: get order enough so we get socks and stuff fast
- 7:49Speaker 2: the whole day.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I get everything. So we got that. That's a
- 7:53Speaker 1: tax right off? And what's the line on did you
- 7:56Speaker 1: figure out if we buy some stuff whilst we're on
- 7:59Speaker 1: the Christmas party? Here's okay? Is that a tax right off?
- 8:02Speaker 2: We get to do something that we very much enjoy, Well,
- 8:05Speaker 2: you very much enjoy And I think it's hilarious. Is
- 8:07Speaker 2: lowball people on Facebook Marketplace and I believe anything purchased
- 8:12Speaker 2: during Christmas party hours can be classes a tax right
- 8:15Speaker 2: off because entertainment entertainment.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Yes, shit, what do I want? We do need a
- 8:21Speaker 1: new camera for the studio. But maybe I'm thinking like.
- 8:23Speaker 2: That's a tax right off anyway, True, it's not tax
- 8:25Speaker 2: right off of something cool I want.
- 8:27Speaker 1: It's cool. I got to think about today. I want
- 8:28Speaker 1: some cool stuff. I don't know that's so much I
- 8:30Speaker 1: think about that's a lot of pressure. I agree, what's
- 8:32Speaker 1: our budget? Fuck? It isn't that a budget? On Christmas?
- 8:35Speaker 1: The Santa Christmas, Santa Christmas? Name does Santa Christmas? Oh yeah,
- 8:40Speaker 1: what so Father Christmas, Father Christmas? Santa Claus? Santa Claus?
- 8:45Speaker 1: Whoadn't I don't know where you got Christmas from. I
- 8:47Speaker 1: was like, like, where's his last name? Santa Claus doesn't
- 8:52Speaker 1: have a budget, doesn't so neither a week? I doubt it?
- 8:54Speaker 1: So do you reckon? He pays the elves in nothing
- 8:57Speaker 1: that like slates. So it's gonna set up. It's gonna look,
- 9:02Speaker 1: we're gonna have a Christmas special on the podcast. That's
- 9:04Speaker 1: also a tax writing in itself. Wait, yeah, recording an
- 9:08Speaker 1: episode of a podcast. Whatever we do during the episode,
- 9:11Speaker 1: because it's for entertainment, person purposes, and that's how we
- 9:13Speaker 1: make our money. It's a tax, right, so we make
- 9:14Speaker 1: it the most expensive episode ever, so it's going to
- 9:16Speaker 1: be like over like five hundred bucks. Yeah, let's do
- 9:19Speaker 1: it. It must be nice. Oh shit, what do we Let's
- 9:24Speaker 1: do some I don't know anyone comments some good ideas
- 9:26Speaker 1: we can calling people. You get a hundred bucks, you
- 9:30Speaker 1: get a hundred bucks, send us your back detail. I
- 9:32Speaker 1: wish we had that much money. I wish if we
- 9:33Speaker 1: could do like a I don't know, some famous person
- 9:35Speaker 1: just handing out money. But I'm excited. Yeah, I don't know.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Something about this Christmas has really made me excited. Something
- 9:41Speaker 1: about being with a partner. Girls make Christmas so exciting.
- 9:44Speaker 1: And then the fact that we can tax rite off
- 9:46Speaker 1: all these things with our first ever Christmas party. This
- 9:49Speaker 1: is the This is our third year of operation technically
- 9:51Speaker 1: or second and a half. This is it.
- 9:53Speaker 2: We're through. No, we're into our third year, I believe. Yeah,
- 9:58Speaker 2: so June next year is like three year marked ended
- 10:01Speaker 2: and we're going into year four.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Took us three years to get a Christmas party? And
- 10:06Speaker 1: when would you say the relationship that guy and your
- 10:09Speaker 1: dad had it that the company he owned was equivalent
- 10:11Speaker 1: to us, you and I.
- 10:13Speaker 2: No damn, so no, not quiet. They've known each other
- 10:17Speaker 2: since they were young. But my dad is the same
- 10:19Speaker 2: age as the other guy's older brother, right. And then
- 10:23Speaker 2: my dad's business partner he actually was my dad's apprentice.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Really yeah, and they worked.
- 10:29Speaker 1: That's kind of like you and I. I'm Yoda and
- 10:31Speaker 1: your Luke Skywalker and I teach you everything. That's quite
- 10:34Speaker 1: the same. All right, Well we're on track. Let's see
- 10:36Speaker 1: how we go there.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Because they went Dad worked for himself and then he
- 10:40Speaker 2: had his business partner as his apprentice, so he worked
- 10:42Speaker 2: for Dad. And then they went to a different company
- 10:44Speaker 2: where one of them, my dad's business partner I believe,
- 10:47Speaker 2: was on the tools on job site. So my dad
- 10:48Speaker 2: was a project manager. And then they laid sto they
- 10:51Speaker 2: said to each other like they were like, well, fuck this,
- 10:54Speaker 2: Like if we did this ourselves, we can make so
- 10:55Speaker 2: much more money. And so they took the leap and
- 10:56Speaker 2: went and did it themselves.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Yeah. Right, So right now we're at the stage of
- 11:01Speaker 1: took to leave of faith.
- 11:03Speaker 2: So yeah, we're at the leading stage, and seventeen years
- 11:06Speaker 2: down the track we could be talking about track.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I'll be like all right, I'm not going to talk
- 11:10Speaker 1: about Jack at all. I'm just going to say this
- 11:12Speaker 1: is the history of relatables.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Everybody, unfortunately Jakie's leaving is going to bigger and better things.
- 11:17Speaker 1: But I want to give the history of relati this point.
- 11:20Speaker 1: So it was my idea. It was my idea. I've
- 11:26Speaker 1: said it. What's that I say it again? We were lost? Okay,
- 11:29Speaker 1: it was my idea. I'm excited for Christmas. My whole
- 11:35Speaker 1: thing is that.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Ever anybody asks like, what what got you guys to
- 11:38Speaker 2: do it?
- 11:38Speaker 1: I'm always like his idea and then I let how
- 11:40Speaker 1: to explain it literally. I've told this story that many
- 11:44Speaker 1: times changes a bit when I can be bothered to
- 11:59Speaker 1: all right, Jake, I'm about to rattle off some things
- 12:01Speaker 1: and tell me what they are at the end. Mount Everest,
- 12:05Speaker 1: k nine, couziosco Ularu, tall peaks, really big hills. They
- 12:17Speaker 1: are very large hills.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Some may say mountains y, some may say they are
- 12:21Speaker 2: a mountain.
- 12:22Speaker 1: What's the difference between a mountain and hill?
- 12:23Speaker 2: But when they were thinking of a thing, of like,
- 12:25Speaker 2: when they looked at a hill and they said that's
- 12:26Speaker 2: a hill. And then when they looked at a mountain,
- 12:28Speaker 2: and they said, well, that's just a really big hill,
- 12:31Speaker 2: but we don't want to just call it that. That's boring,
- 12:32Speaker 2: so we need to call it a mountain.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 12:34Speaker 2: So if you look at the definition of a mountain,
- 12:35Speaker 2: they would say a hill plus to me.
- 12:37Speaker 1: But hill mountain, tomato, tomato, banana.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Banana, banana banana. Yeah, never, ever, ever, have I heard
- 12:45Speaker 2: somebody add that to that reference. It's always tomato, tomato, potato, potato, banana, banana.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Not banana banana, banana banana, or maybe I said it
- 12:53Speaker 1: weird the first time.
- 12:54Speaker 2: If anybody has ever pronounced banana banana, I love you.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Let the people who can't talk properly pronounce things how
- 13:04Speaker 1: they want to talk.
- 13:05Speaker 2: All right, Okay, I'm not in a judge, but the
- 13:07Speaker 2: hill I'm willing to die on is that banana should
- 13:09Speaker 2: only be pronounced banana.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I think I think that was you intruing the segment.
- 13:14Speaker 1: So what those hills are hills we're willing to die on.
- 13:19Speaker 1: We have found out on the podcast that me and
- 13:21Speaker 1: Jake are very agreeable, open minded, willing to see other perspectives,
- 13:27Speaker 1: so we thought it's time to put our foot down
- 13:30Speaker 1: and die on a couple hills with a few things
- 13:32Speaker 1: we really believe.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Yeah, what's a couple of things that each of us
- 13:35Speaker 2: believe that we know our mind will never ever be
- 13:38Speaker 2: changed on.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Yeah, And I tried to go something where, like I
- 13:41Speaker 1: could say the classic things that me and Jake obviously
- 13:44Speaker 1: agree on. Yes, I tried to go a little bit different.
- 13:47Speaker 1: So Jake's like, oh, nah, maybe not. I've tried to
- 13:49Speaker 1: do ones that I'm thinking you're going to be like.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I fully disagree. Really I tried to, but I'm like, oh,
- 13:54Speaker 1: were like the same person.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I have two that I have very very much like
- 14:00Speaker 2: geared towards you to be like, because I know where
- 14:03Speaker 2: the opposite on it.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Well, do you want to start with the one we
- 14:06Speaker 1: are very very agreeable on? Yeah?
- 14:08Speaker 2: So the hill that we are willing to die on, Yeah,
- 14:10Speaker 2: is that girls and guys cannot be best friends. Emphasis
- 14:15Speaker 2: on best friends. We believe they can be friends, but
- 14:19Speaker 2: not best friends. I was going to say one that
- 14:21Speaker 2: was too toxic, but I'm gonna say it anyway. Was
- 14:25Speaker 2: a hill I was willing to die on. Maybe I'll
- 14:27Speaker 2: die halfway up the hill because I'm I could change my.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Mind a little bit. Yeah, is that most guy friends
- 14:34Speaker 1: just want to sleep with their girl best friends. Yoh,
- 14:36Speaker 1: that's a hill.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I'm willing to have a nap on. That's a hill
- 14:40Speaker 2: that I'm willing to have an extended coma on.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I might get like halfway up and be like, oh,
- 14:44Speaker 1: I'm pretty happy. Okay, Yes, do you want me to
- 14:48Speaker 1: start on hills I'm willing to die on? Yes? Okay.
- 14:52Speaker 1: My first hill I'm dying on is there's a difference
- 14:55Speaker 1: between hanging out and quality time. Oh, hanging out and
- 15:02Speaker 1: quality time with like say a girlfriend, yeah, partner. I
- 15:06Speaker 1: really think quality time has to be like said, rather
- 15:11Speaker 1: than just hanging out, is quality time? Willing to die
- 15:14Speaker 1: on that hill? Really, like, you have to put effort
- 15:16Speaker 1: into hanging out. You can't just be like watching a
- 15:17Speaker 1: movie like one afternoon. That's not quality time to me.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Ah so you think so watching a movie and hanging
- 15:24Speaker 2: out is not quality time?
- 15:25Speaker 1: To me, that's quality time. I told you what. I
- 15:28Speaker 1: don't reckon that's quality time. But what's quality time to you?
- 15:30Speaker 1: Like putting in the effort to do something together. If
- 15:32Speaker 1: you say, like, hey, do you want to go for
- 15:34Speaker 1: a walk at three o'clock? Quality time? You want to
- 15:36Speaker 1: go for a date with me quality time. You have
- 15:38Speaker 1: to plan it. I don't think hanging out like because
- 15:41Speaker 1: you wouldn't plan you want to watch TV at six
- 15:42Speaker 1: o'clock with your girlfriend, you wouldn't play. It just happens.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I don't think that's quality time. I think that's just
- 15:46Speaker 1: hanging out. Yeah, look, I mean it is hanging out.
- 15:51Speaker 2: But to me, those small mundane things are the quality time.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Like before bed, I think that like or say even
- 16:00Speaker 2: just like say you've been to the beach.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Well, another example is driving. I don't think like sitting
- 16:05Speaker 1: and talking whilest driving to me, that's not quality time.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Is that quality time? To I love all that shit?
- 16:10Speaker 1: I love it. I think that's quality time. I don't
- 16:12Speaker 1: think that's quality of time. No, No, I think that's
- 16:14Speaker 1: just like making the most of the situation. That's not
- 16:16Speaker 1: quality time. But that's quality time. No, quality time's planning,
- 16:19Speaker 1: making the most of the situations called time. But that
- 16:21Speaker 1: means so quality time is in the eye of the beholder,
- 16:25Speaker 1: though what you are the same in the eye of
- 16:29Speaker 1: the beholder. So I'm so let's say I have.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Okay, gone to the beach, hung out, planned it quality time,
- 16:39Speaker 2: quality time, but you come home nothing else planned for
- 16:42Speaker 2: the day, sit down, nonverbal TikTok time.
- 16:46Speaker 1: With a girlfriend. That is not quality time, no sending
- 16:49Speaker 1: each other tick, hang it out, quality time. It's not.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I feel like that's a cop out, a little bit
- 16:57Speaker 1: of a cop out. I do like it still, but
- 16:59Speaker 1: I think it's on a different gale. Like my quality
- 17:01Speaker 1: time is pre planned stuff where you put effort in
- 17:03Speaker 1: and you're both there consciously to make the best like
- 17:06Speaker 1: social situation for each other. And that's like a ten
- 17:08Speaker 1: out of ten, whereas that these other things where you're
- 17:11Speaker 1: just doing things together, which is hanging out as like
- 17:12Speaker 1: a seven out of ten.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Right, Okay, I was just about to say, I'm not agreeing.
- 17:17Speaker 2: By the way, guys, I'm not agreeing. My hill I'm
- 17:21Speaker 2: willing to die on. Is the opposite is that they
- 17:23Speaker 2: are the same thing, but all of its quality time.
- 17:28Speaker 2: But maybe I will admit sometime is quality quality.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Time and sometimes it's just quality time. I'm not agreeing.
- 17:37Speaker 1: You won't hang out doesn't even come out of you're
- 17:40Speaker 1: about to come on my hill. There's face on that.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Okay, Look, I will say I'm not agreeing. So that
- 17:48Speaker 2: is one we haven't a great day.
- 17:49Speaker 1: That's the hell you're willing to at least I hit
- 17:50Speaker 1: it first time.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay a hill that I am willing
- 17:55Speaker 2: to die on is for maximum effect, toilet paper should
- 18:02Speaker 2: be folded.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Oh and not scrunched. See so when was the last
- 18:10Speaker 1: time you scrunched? Never have, never will? There's my problem. Okay,
- 18:16Speaker 1: you've never tried it, So how do you know it
- 18:17Speaker 1: doesn't have maximum effect in your terminology? Mate? Because of
- 18:21Speaker 1: my logical brain? No no, no, no, no no no.
- 18:24Speaker 1: So before you die on this hill, yeah, you're probably
- 18:27Speaker 1: going to take three more shits today. Scrunched fast metabolism goals.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Scrunched one of them for me, and I guarantee that
- 18:37Speaker 1: the sensation of you pushing the toilet paper against your
- 18:42Speaker 1: bum will have the same effect as folding it.
- 18:45Speaker 2: I think that what happened in evolution evolution afore when
- 18:54Speaker 2: what happened in evolution before humans even conceived the thought
- 19:00Speaker 2: of paper to wipe the ship out of their ass,
- 19:03Speaker 2: evolution had a subtle foreshattering of knowing that one day
- 19:07Speaker 2: it will happen. So they made our finger and our
- 19:11Speaker 2: butt like they made our finger the perfect key to
- 19:14Speaker 2: our crack for a p for a couple of slips
- 19:17Speaker 2: of time paper to be the perfect fit to wipe
- 19:19Speaker 2: it out.
- 19:20Speaker 1: I know I agree with that statement. There you go,
- 19:22Speaker 1: but I think you've woken up on my no no, no,
- 19:25Speaker 1: no no no. I agree with the key to the
- 19:27Speaker 1: ass crack statement, but I think that the scrunch method
- 19:31Speaker 1: has the exact same effectiveness as folding. So I say,
- 19:36Speaker 1: of saying, go ship, don't fold it. Just pick it
- 19:39Speaker 1: up normally and it sort of folds itself. I don't
- 19:42Speaker 1: scrunch it like a piece of paper you throw on
- 19:43Speaker 1: the rubbish bit. But it's sort of like you don't
- 19:45Speaker 1: scrunch into a ball, wipe a ball. You just rip
- 19:48Speaker 1: it off where it lands. Lands. That is so fast
- 19:51Speaker 1: and loose. I've never heard anything like it. Give it
- 19:54Speaker 1: a go, so give maybe document the experience. I actually
- 19:57Speaker 1: think I might make it TikTok of Mummy and daddy it.
- 19:59Speaker 2: I actually you might have to wait because okay, I
- 20:02Speaker 2: just that was my My next question was going to
- 20:04Speaker 2: be how many squares of toilet paper whatever?
- 20:07Speaker 1: I feel like one time it could be five, and
- 20:10Speaker 1: one time it could be seven. Yeah, yeah, it's never
- 20:12Speaker 1: one like it's normally more. No you go, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 20:14Speaker 1: I always cover my I've never like got it on
- 20:16Speaker 1: my hands or anything like that. Okay, effective, but how many?
- 20:20Speaker 1: How many fingers are gripping? I have to do it
- 20:23Speaker 1: like like four. Here's a question for it, which I
- 20:28Speaker 1: think answers the question for you. Do I smell like ship?
- 20:33Speaker 1: Do I smell like ship?
- 20:34Speaker 2: No?
- 20:35Speaker 1: But you're saying my method is worse. I'm not saying
- 20:37Speaker 1: yours is worst. I think it's equal. I think that
- 20:40Speaker 1: the answer my question I don't here. Okay, No, you
- 20:44Speaker 1: don't smell like shit. And I'm not a centered man,
- 20:47Speaker 1: you know. Okay, you don't smell like ship.
- 20:48Speaker 2: But what I will say is you could have ship
- 20:51Speaker 2: in your pants right now and your undies, and the
- 20:54Speaker 2: second layer of pants is masking.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I don't think so anyway, another one we disagree with.
- 21:01Speaker 1: That's a good one. I reckon. You got to test
- 21:02Speaker 1: a theory though, and come back to me.
- 21:04Speaker 2: And the thought of fault of just make crunching and
- 21:08Speaker 2: not folding makes me cringe.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Just have a shower after. If you really feel that dirty.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I'll just fold it.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Do the first one. Okay. My next hill I'm willing
- 21:19Speaker 1: to die on is I think this is one you're
- 21:22Speaker 1: probably still going to agree on, okay, but I think
- 21:24Speaker 1: this is definitely a hill I'm willing to die on.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Is guys know how to be good partners, but consciously
- 21:31Speaker 1: choose not to. I think I'm with you on this one.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I thought you would, but I thought it was a
- 21:38Speaker 1: good hill that I'm willing to die on that I
- 21:39Speaker 1: could not say it. Yeah, No, that's a good one.
- 21:41Speaker 1: That's a hill. I know. I'm willing to die on
- 21:43Speaker 1: that hill with you. I really really think they know
- 21:45Speaker 1: what it takes to have a good date, be a
- 21:47Speaker 1: good partner, put in the effort, but they consciously choose
- 21:50Speaker 1: the minimalistic approach and they're just like, nah, come and bobin.
- 21:55Speaker 2: I No, I also agree, that's a hill I'm willing
- 21:58Speaker 2: to die on. I think that every human knows how
- 22:02Speaker 2: do you fundamentally treat another human? Yeah, Like I know
- 22:07Speaker 2: how to treat you with respect, but I know how
- 22:09Speaker 2: to treat Beth like a girlfriend. Yeah yeah, Like I
- 22:12Speaker 2: know that I treat her differently than I treat you,
- 22:15Speaker 2: if that makes.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Sense, Yeah yeah yeah. And I think every single man
- 22:18Speaker 1: knows how to treat a girl properly, yeah, like she
- 22:21Speaker 1: should be treated but they consciously make the effort and
- 22:24Speaker 1: have the thought of I can't be bothered, yeah, or
- 22:26Speaker 1: I don't want to And honestly, like it probably goes
- 22:29Speaker 1: the other way too, Like it is, I feel as though,
- 22:32Speaker 1: just like the vibe I get, I'd say there hasn't
- 22:34Speaker 1: been any so this probably has been surveys done, But
- 22:36Speaker 1: I feel like it's pretty obvious that guys are like
- 22:39Speaker 1: it's more common for a guy to treat a girl
- 22:41Speaker 1: shitty than a girl to treat a guy shitty. But
- 22:42Speaker 1: if a girl is treating a guy shitty, she also
- 22:45Speaker 1: knows how to not treat him shitty. Oh yeah, well
- 22:47Speaker 1: one of I was talking to my girlfriend about this
- 22:48Speaker 1: question last night and one of the hills she was
- 22:50Speaker 1: willing to die, And which goes off that is there's
- 22:51Speaker 1: a difference between self awareness and making a change. So
- 22:56Speaker 1: a lot of people will be self aware and say like,
- 23:00Speaker 1: what's wrong with me or realize why they're not getting
- 23:02Speaker 1: the right partner, and rather than making a change and
- 23:05Speaker 1: making the conscious effort to do better from themselves, they
- 23:08Speaker 1: do the minimalistic approach, and then they attract minimalistic boyfriends. Yeah, okay,
- 23:13Speaker 1: so there's a difference between those two things interesting because
- 23:16Speaker 1: I also think like a lot of relationships, like you
- 23:18Speaker 1: attract what you like. Yeah, like exactly the same. And
- 23:21Speaker 1: you might be like this might be a bit of
- 23:22Speaker 1: a harsh reality maybe, but so a lot of the
- 23:24Speaker 1: time sometimes you're unlucky and you you just attract a
- 23:27Speaker 1: bad partner. But a lot of the time you are
- 23:30Speaker 1: also not putting in the effort as well. Ah yeah, yep.
- 23:36Speaker 1: So a lot of people will be like, oh, my
- 23:37Speaker 1: boyfriend doesn't do this, boyfriend doesn't do that, Oh my
- 23:40Speaker 1: girlfriend doesn't do this. Diffriend doesn't do that, and they're like, oh,
- 23:41Speaker 1: what do you do like or nothing, like, what do
- 23:43Speaker 1: you mean, what do you do? Then? Fair, I'm sure
- 23:45Speaker 1: that is a reason for it.
- 23:46Speaker 2: And then the thing that sucks is then when there
- 23:48Speaker 2: is the person that's like, you know, my boyfriend doesn't
- 23:51Speaker 2: do this, and I really I feel as I've been
- 23:53Speaker 2: doing all this thing for everything for them. It's like
- 23:56Speaker 2: people still say, people will still be like oh yeah,
- 23:58Speaker 2: but like what are you doing for them?
- 24:00Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 24:00Speaker 2: And so then it's like to them, it's like normal,
- 24:03Speaker 2: it almost becomes normal for someone to not do anything
- 24:05Speaker 2: for them.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Yeah, And I'm not invalidating people who do do a
- 24:08Speaker 1: lot and their partner does nothing. But it's a very
- 24:11Speaker 1: individualized relationship. But that is a lot of the time
- 24:14Speaker 1: both of you are doing nothing.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a good that's actually a good point. So
- 24:17Speaker 2: that was Cassie that thought.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Of that one.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I was gonna steal it, but I started against it.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Yeah, you're gonna credit, give credit where credit is due. Okay,
- 24:26Speaker 2: I've got one that I've got two more. I think
- 24:28Speaker 2: I've got one that you're not gonna agree with, and
- 24:30Speaker 2: the one that you're gonna agree with. I think I'm
- 24:31Speaker 2: gonna go not agree. Okay, Hill, I'm willing to die on.
- 24:38Speaker 2: I think that it should go in this order. Okay, mattress,
- 24:43Speaker 2: fitted sheet, douve.
- 24:48Speaker 1: You know where to hit me in a little spot.
- 24:51Speaker 2: None of that is, none of that little fucking flimsy
- 24:54Speaker 2: sheet that's in between you and the douvet that gets
- 24:57Speaker 2: you all knotted up, just the Douvey.
- 24:59Speaker 1: See see see here's my problem, Jake. So you have
- 25:03Speaker 1: a douvet, a douner, whatever you want to call it.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Do I chose douve. I feel it was more more.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Yeah, how often do you change that douve cover? Currently? Never?
- 25:13Speaker 1: I reckon never once a month, bullshit, No, I do
- 25:16Speaker 1: want to change your once once a month. You change
- 25:19Speaker 1: your fitished sheet like once a month. There's no way
- 25:21Speaker 1: you're changing the doner with it. No, I just would.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Well when I say change my sheets in the day,
- 25:26Speaker 2: where I'm like, oh, I better do it today, is
- 25:28Speaker 2: like I take pillow case off, both pillow cases, fitish
- 25:31Speaker 2: sheet and the doner cover off and I put them
- 25:33Speaker 2: all in. OK, so they're all like the same set.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I never I never mix up a set. I'll say
- 25:37Speaker 2: that's one of the perks if you're having a girlfriend.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I swear you never do that when we live together.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Ever only was probably a once three months affair. But
- 25:45Speaker 2: but what I was going to say, technically, I'm two
- 25:47Speaker 2: hundred percent better. I know that you're all about cleanliness.
- 25:50Speaker 2: What about you're in your bed for eight hours and
- 25:52Speaker 2: you think all you're so clean because you have to.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Shower, shower before you go to bed, that you're sweating,
- 25:56Speaker 1: you're doing like who knows your fot knowing you You're
- 25:58Speaker 1: doing all these dirty things in your sleep, dribbling everywhere.
- 26:02Speaker 1: And then this sheet covers your duvet and protects it
- 26:05Speaker 1: so it's in between you and the douvet. So it's
- 26:08Speaker 1: a protection of cleanliness level. That's why I have it.
- 26:11Speaker 1: And on top of it, I'm changing your mind. And
- 26:12Speaker 1: on top of it, we're in summer in Australia right now.
- 26:15Speaker 1: You can't have a duvet on your mate. It's too
- 26:17Speaker 1: hot and I like to be covered. I don't just
- 26:19Speaker 1: like to sleep with nothing on me, So a little
- 26:20Speaker 1: sheet over me legs is really nice, makes me feel
- 26:23Speaker 1: nice and cozy. See valid. Why do you think the
- 26:27Speaker 1: fancy hotels also have another sheet so they don't have
- 26:31Speaker 1: to constantly clean the douvet? Yeah, and rich people like them.
- 26:35Speaker 1: I'm looking.
- 26:36Speaker 2: I know you want to be Okay, I will say,
- 26:41Speaker 2: the logic has got me.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, the logic has At this point, you might
- 26:46Speaker 1: as well be wiping your ass with fucking jagged toilet paper.
- 26:49Speaker 1: I will point out.
- 26:51Speaker 2: That the logic of that argument is you can't argue
- 26:56Speaker 2: when you bring cleanliness into it. Okay, And yes, where
- 27:00Speaker 2: I stand is not on the cleanliness, it's on the
- 27:02Speaker 2: comfort and how annoying that fucking middle sheet is. So
- 27:07Speaker 2: so I'm still willing to die on my hill, but
- 27:09Speaker 2: I'm also willing to accept that your arguments better than mine.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Great, well I win. Also, it's not that much. It
- 27:16Speaker 1: takes like, what two more minutes to put the extra
- 27:18Speaker 1: sheet on.
- 27:19Speaker 2: It's not even that, it's I hate it being there,
- 27:22Speaker 2: what the feeling of.
- 27:23Speaker 1: It being there? I hate it. I want to wrap
- 27:27Speaker 1: up in my douner, my proper duvet, yeah, and sweat
- 27:30Speaker 1: on it. Yeah right? Oh, okay, well I think obviously
- 27:36Speaker 1: I'm right. So moving on.
- 27:37Speaker 2: You ever wash your sheets and then like the first
- 27:41Speaker 2: week of your sheets being washed, or how often do
- 27:43Speaker 2: you change yours?
- 27:44Speaker 1: Like once a week?
- 27:45Speaker 2: Okay, well, so let's say the first day for you,
- 27:47Speaker 2: for me, the first week, the first day of your
- 27:50Speaker 2: sheets being washed, will you try and not fart as much?
- 27:54Speaker 2: And then like when you know when they're going to
- 27:55Speaker 2: be changed soon, will you just let it rip. That's
- 27:59Speaker 2: such a lot we've got you on camera, such a
- 28:03Speaker 2: fucking lie.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Un lucky man, I'm lucky.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to make it my life's emission to
- 28:10Speaker 2: catch you out.
- 28:11Speaker 1: That's something you'd put a lot of effort into. You're
- 28:14Speaker 1: never gonna catch me out because they don't far.
- 28:16Speaker 2: You know what, I would put a lot of effort
- 28:18Speaker 2: into that, because that's something I think is good.
- 28:21Speaker 1: That is that is worth effort. You think my farts
- 28:23Speaker 1: are good? Thanks, man, I think that proving that you
- 28:26Speaker 1: fart way more than I do is worth the far
- 28:29Speaker 1: way more than especially. My diet is really good at
- 28:32Speaker 1: the moment, so your.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Like start being good should make your fights more frequently.
- 28:36Speaker 1: I've got more fiber, man, I'm just that means more farting,
- 28:39Speaker 1: It means like better. Why do we keep coming back
- 28:41Speaker 1: to ships?
- 28:41Speaker 2: Like?
- 28:42Speaker 1: My ships are really like strong and firm A couple
- 28:44Speaker 1: of ghost wipes, Yeah, exactly, exactly. The fiber is up
- 28:47Speaker 1: my last hill I'm willing to die on is Okay,
- 28:51Speaker 1: this is very left field from me, but let me explain.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Toxic traits are attractive, and hear me out. Give me
- 29:04Speaker 1: a trait top of my head, like playing hard to
- 29:08Speaker 1: get or like not replying very quickly. That makes yes,
- 29:11Speaker 1: I will agree, that makes you want them more. Yeah. Yeah, yeah,
- 29:14Speaker 1: So toxic traits are very attractive, but it's sort of
- 29:17Speaker 1: like learning how to disassociate from those toxic traits and
- 29:24Speaker 1: still find other things attractive. Yep, but I'm willing to
- 29:27Speaker 1: die on the hill that all those toxic things that
- 29:29Speaker 1: you do on the talking stage and that aren't I
- 29:32Speaker 1: don't agree on and everything like that I'm not an
- 29:33Speaker 1: advocate for are attractive. Okay, I hear you, damn.
- 29:39Speaker 2: So do you think it could make someone that's not
- 29:43Speaker 2: that you say you weren't fully attracted to a start,
- 29:46Speaker 2: and then they start treating you with their little tactics
- 29:49Speaker 2: of toxic traits that you then find the more attractive.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I think. So it's also like a subconscious like a
- 29:55Speaker 1: lot of people would be talking to someone and like
- 29:57Speaker 1: it's you don't want it to happen, but there's something
- 30:00Speaker 1: so I don't even know, something that you can't have
- 30:04Speaker 1: or something that doesn't feel right makes you want it
- 30:06Speaker 1: more and it's attractive. And I don't agree with it,
- 30:10Speaker 1: but it's something that I do believe is attractive. It's
- 30:13Speaker 1: also like making it relatable for like people who do
- 30:16Speaker 1: do it or like have experienced it, and they think, oh,
- 30:19Speaker 1: why do I like this always like the chase? Yeah,
- 30:22Speaker 1: like why do I always like toxic guys? Or why
- 30:24Speaker 1: do I always like toxic girls? It's attractive. It's because
- 30:27Speaker 1: it works, Yes, it is attract That's why people do it.
- 30:30Speaker 1: And I do agree with that, and I'm not an
- 30:31Speaker 1: advocate for it, and I don't do it myself, but
- 30:33Speaker 1: I can I understand why it's attractive.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Yeah, look, I actually can't argue with that.
- 30:38Speaker 1: So that's that's definitely a hill. I'm willing to that
- 30:42Speaker 1: one's more of like a mound. That's a mound. I'm
- 30:45Speaker 1: willing to. Yeah, yeah, have a picnic on yeah.
- 30:49Speaker 2: All right, last one. I think you'll agree with this. Now, hill,
- 30:56Speaker 2: I'm willing to die on you. And I are guilty
- 30:58Speaker 2: of this in the past, but not anymore. I'll say,
- 31:02Speaker 2: skinny jeans on men have no place in this world.
- 31:05Speaker 1: I am dying on the top of that hill with
- 31:07Speaker 1: a little flag, the little relatable sting like this.
- 31:10Speaker 2: I am bringing my own cross with an rip to
- 31:13Speaker 2: the very top of a mountain for that one.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I'll tell you what this is calling out to any
- 31:18Speaker 1: guys out there, even the you're talking long skinny jeans,
- 31:22Speaker 1: even the short like shorts jeans that have like the
- 31:25Speaker 1: rips in them. The every eighteen year old war who's
- 31:28Speaker 1: born in the two thousands. Oh, they're still rocking about
- 31:31Speaker 1: here on there, I know. And like, if you're wearing
- 31:33Speaker 1: one of them, I think it's time to send them
- 31:36Speaker 1: to the Vinnie and minsing the pools, don't they can
- 31:40Speaker 1: make something out vne. They can make something out of there.
- 31:43Speaker 2: They could cut the fabric up, yeah, maybe make them
- 31:45Speaker 2: into something different the jeans material, Yeah, they make like
- 31:49Speaker 2: chairs and stuff that.
- 31:50Speaker 1: I hate seeing today. I can't like. It also emphasizes
- 31:53Speaker 1: that like ninety percent of males legs are just like
- 31:56Speaker 1: straight and have no muscle.
- 31:58Speaker 2: I have no shape for any Yeah, they have no
- 32:00Speaker 2: sha It's just like it's just it's not flattering.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know when it was.
- 32:04Speaker 2: But yeah I had I remember buying a bear of bag,
- 32:09Speaker 2: buying a pair of baggy pants and just being like, this.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Makes so much more sense.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Yeah, why did we wear skinny jeans?
- 32:17Speaker 1: I have no idea. It's also like, look at the
- 32:18Speaker 1: evolution of fashion.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Yeah, But the thing about it, it also is like
- 32:23Speaker 2: you could probably find a photo from twenty twenty mm.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Man, there's still guys rocking the youd A Festival and
- 32:29Speaker 1: still like fifty percent of the dudes of rocking them.
- 32:31Speaker 1: They haven't evolved. There's a good like sign to pick
- 32:35Speaker 1: up if guys like got a little bit of fashion
- 32:36Speaker 1: sense or like a cool but if they're still rocking
- 32:40Speaker 1: their skinnity. Let's just roast the fuck it anyone. But
- 32:44Speaker 1: that's relatable. I'm sure there's an equivalent of girls, Like
- 32:47Speaker 1: we don't know what girls used to wear like five
- 32:49Speaker 1: years ago, but I'm sure there's Like what about those
- 32:51Speaker 1: choking necklaces? Is that the thing like equivalent that went
- 32:53Speaker 1: crazy for a while? Is that, like, you know, was
- 32:55Speaker 1: that the equivalent of jeans? Like, because you don't see
- 32:57Speaker 1: girls wearing them anymore. No, maybe give us the equivalent
- 33:01Speaker 1: of what skinny jeans are for girls now.
- 33:03Speaker 2: I would actually love to know that, Like, what's the
- 33:05Speaker 2: hell you're willing to die on of what doesn't belong in.
- 33:07Speaker 1: The female fashion world?
- 33:09Speaker 2: Yeah, because skinny jeans on men do not belong at all.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm trying to think. Yeah, off the top of
- 33:13Speaker 1: my head, I don't know. Other than that choking necklace,
- 33:15Speaker 1: I've got nothing. Yeah, neither.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I actually can't think of anything like, because skinny jeans
- 33:19Speaker 2: on girls, I think has a place in the world.
- 33:22Speaker 2: And then also bagga jeans on girls has a place
- 33:23Speaker 2: in the world. It's just so beautiful.
- 33:25Speaker 1: That's why they could wear anything, Mate, pull anything off, Oddie.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Last week you brought to an episode a segment I
- 33:41Speaker 2: quite enjoyed about comparison.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, that was it was about compresent right,
- 33:46Speaker 1: your relationship expectations are ruining how you love?
- 33:49Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's it's like social media ruining relationships. Comparison,
- 33:53Speaker 2: this comparison that yeah, and we and like I do
- 33:55Speaker 2: fully believe that and like the classical age old saying,
- 33:58Speaker 2: comparison is the thief of And not once did I
- 34:03Speaker 2: even think this while we were talking about it, right, yeah,
- 34:07Speaker 2: and like so yeah, and then you're on my hillmate,
- 34:11Speaker 2: I was feeling I'm still on the hill. Yeah, but
- 34:13Speaker 2: it just thought it was in so but Beth listened
- 34:15Speaker 2: to it and she was like, oh, she was like,
- 34:18Speaker 2: she was like, I agree with you. And she was
- 34:20Speaker 2: like it is funny though you could make good points
- 34:24Speaker 2: as to sometimes comparison is good. And I was like, oh, yeah,
- 34:28Speaker 2: fair enough, and she was like, well, sometimes you could
- 34:32Speaker 2: be in a relationship that is very toxic that it's
- 34:37Speaker 2: like maybe it's your first relationship and you think it's normal,
- 34:40Speaker 2: but then you see a friend in a very healthy
- 34:42Speaker 2: relationship and you're like, whoa what And so then that
- 34:46Speaker 2: form of comparison has opened your eyes, which like and
- 34:51Speaker 2: I was like, oh, that's a good point.
- 34:52Speaker 1: That is a good point, and.
- 34:53Speaker 2: So then I was trying to think of more like
- 34:56Speaker 2: ways in which comparison can be good. So I think
- 35:00Speaker 2: I was just like fuck it, like trying to play
- 35:02Speaker 2: a little Devil's Advocate on it and wanted to see
- 35:04Speaker 2: what you thought, Like.
- 35:05Speaker 1: What you thought, Oh, I completely, yeah, I agree completely.
- 35:10Speaker 1: And I think this also brings up a good point
- 35:12Speaker 1: of where like a lot of things we say on
- 35:15Speaker 1: the podcast are like open to interpretation.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Yeah, like not that I think that we were wrong
- 35:22Speaker 2: or I don't think either one of us.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Wrong, because I think the best thing about a podcast
- 35:26Speaker 1: or taking away any information is like taking the good
- 35:29Speaker 1: parts out of it and exactly what best one saying,
- 35:31Speaker 1: Like there is some I see merit in that, but
- 35:33Speaker 1: also I'm going to make my own mind up and
- 35:37Speaker 1: take away that there are good parts from comparison and
- 35:40Speaker 1: I can admit that I see that too. Yeah, yeah, no,
- 35:42Speaker 1: I see that.
- 35:43Speaker 2: And I thought it was funny a and I was
- 35:44Speaker 2: kind of thinking, but I guess another rebuttal to that
- 35:47Speaker 2: is like we did we focus on not really. We
- 35:50Speaker 2: spoke about social media a lot, but we also were like, oh,
- 35:52Speaker 2: if you're in a relationship where you know the sex
- 35:55Speaker 2: isn't often and someone else is talking about they having
- 35:57Speaker 2: sex all the time, blah blah blah.
- 35:58Speaker 1: But if you're happy, then it's fine. Don't compare.
- 36:01Speaker 2: But I think like one of the biggest ones was yeah,
- 36:03Speaker 2: like Beth was like, sometimes the best way to get
- 36:05Speaker 2: out of a toxic relationship.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Is, I think, see a healthy one. I think my
- 36:09Speaker 1: whole mindset was coming from a place of you're in
- 36:13Speaker 1: something decent already. I didn't look at the negative side
- 36:16Speaker 1: of the relationship really, like if you're already in something bad, yeah,
- 36:21Speaker 1: which I probably I should have done in more research
- 36:23Speaker 1: and done, which I think is good. Yeah, it is good.
- 36:25Speaker 2: I mean, but if you look at it in a yeah,
- 36:28Speaker 2: I don't know. I just found it interesting. I found
- 36:30Speaker 2: it very interesting to think I was trying to I
- 36:32Speaker 2: couldn't really, to be honest with you, I'm sure like
- 36:34Speaker 2: if you spent time thinking about it, apart from you know,
- 36:38Speaker 2: the one where you figure out you're in.
- 36:39Speaker 1: A toxic relationship, I can't really think.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Of like other ways of which comparison is good, because
- 36:45Speaker 2: it's like you could compare yourself to someone else that's
- 36:47Speaker 2: the same age as you and maybe they are further behind,
- 36:51Speaker 2: and so then you therefore feel kind of good that
- 36:53Speaker 2: like you're ahead of them, even though like you don't
- 36:55Speaker 2: want them to feel bad that you're ahead of them,
- 36:57Speaker 2: but you feel good that you're ahead of them. So
- 36:59Speaker 2: it's like, is that a bad form of comparison because
- 37:02Speaker 2: you're getting a big head? Oh yeah, exactly, you know,
- 37:05Speaker 2: Or is it good because it's making you feel good? Yeah,
- 37:07Speaker 2: it's hard, it's yeah, exactly, it's very hard to say.
- 37:10Speaker 2: I'm trying to like analyze it and think of more
- 37:12Speaker 2: as well, and like I.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Can't really think of him. But it's also I've said
- 37:17Speaker 1: it before. Social media has a lot of lot of
- 37:20Speaker 1: bad things. The main comparison is comparing to people online
- 37:23Speaker 1: or maybe even your friends, and it's sort of like
- 37:24Speaker 1: taking away the good things when you see them and
- 37:27Speaker 1: disscessarily associating from the bad. Yeah, and not comparing, which
- 37:31Speaker 1: is a good little lesson as well from taking away
- 37:33Speaker 1: social media, taking away from your friends relationships, and yeah,
- 37:36Speaker 1: especially if you are in that situation where you're in
- 37:38Speaker 1: a toxic relationship, it's definitely a good thing to see
- 37:43Speaker 1: someone else is I don't know, it's just hard to
- 37:47Speaker 1: because my rebuttal for that is, if you're in a
- 37:49Speaker 1: toxic relationship, you're not gonna.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Be able to see it unless you see a healthy one.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but even when you're in you had your first
- 37:57Speaker 1: relationship greater, yeah, or you're in a toxic relationship, yeah, Sure,
- 38:00Speaker 1: a lot of your friends were in maybe not the
- 38:02Speaker 1: most healthy relationship, but decent relationships. You still didn't know
- 38:04Speaker 1: you were in a toxic relationship, did you? Yeah?
- 38:06Speaker 2: I think there was a point where I figured it out,
- 38:08Speaker 2: but I was like really hanging on hoping that it
- 38:12Speaker 2: would change.
- 38:13Speaker 1: Right.
- 38:14Speaker 2: There was a point in time where I was like
- 38:15Speaker 2: very jealous of everyone else's relationship because of like all
- 38:18Speaker 2: the freedom that they had of like just being able
- 38:22Speaker 2: to hang out of mates and like their girlfriend not caring.
- 38:25Speaker 2: And I think I just kept hoping that, like it
- 38:27Speaker 2: would change, and I didn't know. I never said anything,
- 38:30Speaker 2: like I never called her out on it or anything
- 38:32Speaker 2: like that.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Was there a little I suppose that he's a good
- 38:33Speaker 1: thing because you don't know what the switch will be
- 38:35Speaker 1: for said person in that yeah situation, and it might
- 38:37Speaker 1: be a friend in a healthy relationship be like, oh wait,
- 38:39Speaker 1: wait a second, why is mine so hard. Yeah, it's weird.
- 38:42Speaker 1: The switch in yours or just just was just like,
- 38:45Speaker 1: oh I'm waiting for something to change, it just doesn't happen.
- 38:47Speaker 1: The switch in mind was when my parents had to
- 38:49Speaker 1: get involved.
- 38:49Speaker 2: He right, Yeah, my parents were like, nah, I can't
- 38:54Speaker 2: watch it anymore. They did a good job really trying
- 38:56Speaker 2: to let me figure it out. Yeah, like, nah, I
- 38:58Speaker 2: can't watch it anymore, and broke up, got back together.
- 39:03Speaker 2: My parents were like, fuck, hands up, Like they were
- 39:06Speaker 2: like really, you know, threw the hands back and they
- 39:09Speaker 2: were like we tried and then and then that was
- 39:14Speaker 2: just immature and dumb, Like I kind of feel like
- 39:18Speaker 2: I needed to do it to figure it out though.
- 39:19Speaker 2: And then I will say I remember just waking up
- 39:24Speaker 2: one day, like I fully like.
- 39:28Speaker 1: I was at her.
- 39:28Speaker 2: House the night prior was sweet, woke up and she
- 39:33Speaker 2: was mad at me for something, and I was just like,
- 39:36Speaker 2: I'm a super understanding person and never ever, even back then,
- 39:41Speaker 2: like never wanted to invalidate feelings at all, but I
- 39:46Speaker 2: knew I had done nothing wrong. I was like, you're
- 39:48Speaker 2: feeling like shit for zero reasons right now. And then
- 39:52Speaker 2: she went to work, and then before she went to work,
- 39:57Speaker 2: she was like upset about the fight, and she was like,
- 40:01Speaker 2: I don't want you to break up with me. And
- 40:03Speaker 2: then I was like I'm not gonna and she goes
- 40:07Speaker 2: to work and I left and went home, and then when.
- 40:11Speaker 1: She got home from work, I broke up with her.
- 40:13Speaker 2: I was like fuck. I just remember being in the
- 40:17Speaker 2: car and I was like, I know. I said, I'm
- 40:18Speaker 2: not gone up, but I made the decision. And then
- 40:21Speaker 2: like that day like I did it and like, yeah,
- 40:24Speaker 2: wait off.
- 40:24Speaker 1: So I guess you like you never know what is
- 40:26Speaker 1: gonna Yeah, I would say in my experience, it's it's
- 40:32Speaker 1: like you don't. For me at least, it was a
- 40:35Speaker 1: just a yeah, so you never know. And and when.
- 40:38Speaker 2: It hit me as well, euphoria really, I was like,
- 40:42Speaker 2: I was like I have free will. I was like,
- 40:45Speaker 2: wait a second, I can break up with her forever.
- 40:50Speaker 1: I can never see her again. Yeah.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Wow, weird learning experience. Actually, when you think about it.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I guess why rebuttal to that talking about we were
- 40:59Speaker 1: dying on hills and up I see the Beth's viewpoint.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I was kind of like, fuck, I didn't
- 41:04Speaker 2: once like while we were talking about it last week,
- 41:06Speaker 2: what not?
- 41:07Speaker 1: Once did it come to my mind, and I guess
- 41:09Speaker 1: what she said is completely true, and like if they
- 41:11Speaker 1: see another relationship doing good and that's the switch, but
- 41:14Speaker 1: also like that person's going to realize it for themselves.
- 41:17Speaker 2: True, it's a good point. She gave me other examples
- 41:19Speaker 2: of other like good comparisons that I completely forgot. Sorry
- 41:22Speaker 2: but sorry, and I'm still at bath with you.
- 41:25Speaker 1: You trust me, no point. I think it's right too.
- 41:27Speaker 2: I know what you mean actually that the person is
- 41:31Speaker 2: not going to do anything until they decide to do it.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, And I think one of my arguments
- 41:35Speaker 1: was just like not if someone in their good relationship
- 41:38Speaker 1: shouldn't put their views onto that person and force them
- 41:40Speaker 1: to see their point of view even if they know
- 41:41Speaker 1: it's toxic. They person needs to realize it for themselves.
- 41:43Speaker 2: That's a good point actually, because I feel like we've
- 41:44Speaker 2: done that before, where we've tried to tell someone they're
- 41:46Speaker 2: in a toxic relationship and then it kind of just
- 41:49Speaker 2: like hinders your friendship because then they're just like, oh, well,
- 41:53Speaker 2: they don't see her like I see her, or they
- 41:54Speaker 2: don't see them like I see them, and then takes them.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Even longer to figure it out because then they're trying
- 41:58Speaker 1: to prove a point. Yeah, so maybe the there is
- 42:00Speaker 1: a little room for comparison when you're using it in
- 42:02Speaker 1: the right way.
- 42:03Speaker 2: First time I got back together with my ex girlfriend,
- 42:05Speaker 2: the first ex girlfriend, bad one.
- 42:09Speaker 1: I didn't even tell.
- 42:10Speaker 2: JJ our best mate but he but I just got
- 42:14Speaker 2: a text from him.
- 42:15Speaker 1: One day out of the blue, and.
- 42:17Speaker 2: All I said was you idiot, that's such a humm
- 42:21Speaker 2: thing to do too.
- 42:22Speaker 1: I was like, well, well, well everybody, unfortunately that is
- 42:29Speaker 1: the end of the episode. Yeah, that sucks. That sucks
- 42:33Speaker 1: for you guys, but it sucks to be us to
- 42:34Speaker 1: tell you what doesn't suck. Well, this Wednesday, so in
- 42:37Speaker 1: two days, if you're listening, on the day this comers

- 42:58Speaker 2: most money.
- 42:59Speaker 1: This is the episode I do the best. Here's the
- 43:02Speaker 1: places we went to. Places we went to could be
