- 0:21Speaker 1: eight five three five forty three forty three. And joining
- 0:24Speaker 1: us this morning from Larsen Home Services is Andrew Larson.
- 0:27Speaker 1: And Andrew, I've got to guess you've been busy the
- 0:30Speaker 1: past week or so, haven't you. You're always busy, but.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Especially it's been super busy. But I mean, how can
- 0:36Speaker 2: I ignore the fact that I was thinking about what
- 0:39Speaker 2: we were going to talk about, and then that song
- 0:42Speaker 2: came on and I got transported back to the summer
- 0:45Speaker 2: of nineteen ninety seven, cruising around in my buddies sunfire
- 0:50Speaker 2: convertible rock into some sublime at thinking that man, we
- 0:56Speaker 2: had it all so anyway, that really like that.
- 1:00Speaker 1: One life was good, life was simpler, and then we
- 1:03Speaker 1: grow up and things get and I know, one of
- 1:06Speaker 1: the great things about working with Larstom Services is you
- 1:08Speaker 1: make things simple and easy for folks and really like
- 1:12Speaker 1: that stuff. But you know, as you get older, you
- 1:13Speaker 1: get things like houses and mortgages and responsibilities and all that. Yeah,
- 1:21Speaker 1: let's talk about Obviously, we've been talking on the show
- 1:24Speaker 1: here about the severe weather we had last week. Hail
- 1:28Speaker 1: damage down in Edgerton, where I live, got pounded pretty hard.
- 1:31Speaker 1: You were telling me your guys between Edgerton, Evansville and
- 1:35Speaker 1: Platteville have been have been really helping people out, trying
- 1:38Speaker 1: to get things back normal for them.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Did we not just talk about insurance like hmmm
- 1:45Speaker 2: last Wednesday? Yeah, she feels like we just did, yes,
- 1:49Speaker 2: and then Friday this happened. I promise I did not
- 1:53Speaker 2: do this. Here's the deal. As far as hale goes
- 2:01Speaker 2: in the Madison area, this is as bad as I've seen. Okay,
- 2:07Speaker 2: this is this is no doubter hail. This is no
- 2:11Speaker 2: doubt that if you were in this path, you've got damage.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I mean you obviously, Sean, you saw the size of
- 2:17Speaker 2: the hail. You were there. I've seen houses with all
- 2:23Speaker 2: their solar panels smashed out. And let's get something straight.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Those solar panels are made to with stand hail. YEA,
- 2:30Speaker 2: Like they don't just get smashed out that it was
- 2:32Speaker 2: like taking a ballpeen hammer and hitting them as hard
- 2:36Speaker 2: as you could, whole streets with cars where all the
- 2:39Speaker 2: windows were smashed out. So this was a very severe storm.
- 2:43Speaker 2: I could see gutters almost ripped off the house from
- 2:47Speaker 2: the street. Is how big this hail was. It was
- 2:49Speaker 2: anywhere from two to I've seen as big as like
- 2:52Speaker 2: three and a half inch hail, so Edgerton, Evansville, Platteville,
- 2:58Speaker 2: southern parts of varn Ford, Adkinson, Jane Jefferson, you know,
- 3:05Speaker 2: made it. There was some bad damage on the north
- 3:08Speaker 2: part of Iguanago and Palmyra goes over by Milwaukee for
- 3:11Speaker 2: those that don't know, we have an office over there,
- 3:13Speaker 2: so we're dealing with it over there too. So here's
- 3:16Speaker 2: the deal. I know we talked about storms and hail
- 3:20Speaker 2: and insurance and where it was going. And I hope
- 3:23Speaker 2: and pray that all of these people because it was
- 3:26Speaker 2: you know, we're talking thousands of houses affected. I hope
- 3:30Speaker 2: these people aren't going to get a rude awakening when
- 3:33Speaker 2: they try to file an insurance claim. And this is
- 3:36Speaker 2: what I've tried to explain to my reps, is that
- 3:38Speaker 2: you have to understand that nobody in the past, almost nobody,
- 3:42Speaker 2: most people in the path of this probably weren't planning
- 3:45Speaker 2: on getting a new roof and because you guys honestly
- 3:49Speaker 2: have Jane's or I'm sorry, but Edgerton and Evansville and
- 3:53Speaker 2: Platteville have actually all been hit within the past two
- 3:56Speaker 2: years and a lot of roofs have been done. So
- 3:58Speaker 2: a lot of these people are going through this for
- 4:01Speaker 2: the second time within twelve to twenty four months. And
- 4:06Speaker 2: I can tell you what's going to happen. People are
- 4:08Speaker 2: going to start getting dropped by their insurance companies. If
- 4:10Speaker 2: that's what happens, they're going to say, Okay, we're gonna
- 4:12Speaker 2: pay for this one, but now you're done. So this
- 4:16Speaker 2: is why we take a complete This is what I
- 4:18Speaker 2: will tell people if you're listening in those areas. I've
- 4:20Speaker 2: been in both of all three of those cities the
- 4:23Speaker 2: past two days, and we had fourteen reps down in
- 4:27Speaker 2: Edgerton in Evansville on Friday just trying to get to
- 4:30Speaker 2: our customers. I can't tell you how many different roofing
- 4:34Speaker 2: companies have set up camp in Edgerton alone. I think
- 4:38Speaker 2: I counted like sixteen different trucks. It was like a
- 4:41Speaker 2: monster truck rally. Yeah, literally, a monster truck rally and
- 4:46Speaker 2: I have a pretty big truck, but it made me
- 4:49Speaker 2: feel like I had a small truck. Anyway, that's either here.
- 4:53Speaker 2: There rivers life big trucks. There's a lot of different
- 4:56Speaker 2: companies out there, and I'm not coming on here to
- 4:59Speaker 2: say that any of the companies are bad. That is
- 5:01Speaker 2: not what I'm doing. But a lot of them are
- 5:02Speaker 2: storm companies and they are out there to get the
- 5:06Speaker 2: storm work, to work with the insurance company. They're gonna
- 5:08Speaker 2: knock on the door, ask if you want an inspection,
- 5:10Speaker 2: tell you to sign a contingency and file an insurance claim.
- 5:13Speaker 2: And that's not the worst thing in the world. But
- 5:16Speaker 2: here's what I can tell you. We've been talking a
- 5:18Speaker 2: lot on this show that the weather patterns have changed,
- 5:21Speaker 2: We've been receiving more hail. And if you're someone listening
- 5:24Speaker 2: that has had a claim in the past twelve to
- 5:27Speaker 2: twenty four months, this one isn't one you can skip
- 5:31Speaker 2: because this is bad damage. This isn't like iffy, This
- 5:35Speaker 2: isn't like Okay, cool, we get a new free roof. No,
- 5:37Speaker 2: this has to be replaced, and it doesn't have to
- 5:40Speaker 2: be replaced tomorrow or in next week. It's just going
- 5:43Speaker 2: to need to be replaced. Sometime this year, a lot
- 5:48Speaker 2: of people will get dropped from their insurance companies. So
- 5:50Speaker 2: here's the stance that we take. Before you go out
- 5:52Speaker 2: and sign a contingency with a storm restoration company, have
- 5:58Speaker 2: us come over, because we take the stance of we
- 6:02Speaker 2: don't want you to get a throwaway roof. Honestly, I
- 6:07Speaker 2: drive around Evansville and Edgerton and I called my business
- 6:11Speaker 2: partner and I said, man, honestly, it pains me that
- 6:16Speaker 2: there's literally thousands of roofs and all the shingles are
- 6:19Speaker 2: just going to go in the landfill. They're literally just
- 6:22Speaker 2: replaceable roofs. So before you go and do that, listen
- 6:27Speaker 2: to one of my reps showed you what armor shield
- 6:30Speaker 2: is and what f wave is. Because I've got a
- 6:34Speaker 2: great testimonial that we're gonna throw up on our Facebook page.
- 6:37Speaker 2: To a customer in Evansville who had a roof put
- 6:40Speaker 2: on by us last Monday. Oh, armor shield three inch
- 6:47Speaker 2: hil absolutely no damage. Nice, So he lucked out, but
- 6:54Speaker 2: he put that armor shield roof on because of this reason,
- 6:58Speaker 2: he's been hit with hail before. He does not want
- 7:01Speaker 2: to go through the process again. Now there's no gear.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I can't guarantee you that it's not going to get damaged.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I mean, if the hail is big enough and the
- 7:08Speaker 2: wind strong enough, it'll damage anything. But that was pretty
- 7:11Speaker 2: significant hail with pretty significant wind. And he literally took
- 7:16Speaker 2: photos and sent it to us and said, thank you
- 7:18Speaker 2: so much. Roof was done on Monday Friday, hit with
- 7:21Speaker 2: this hail and he had the hail in his hand
- 7:23Speaker 2: and he said, I have no damage on my roof.
- 7:26Speaker 2: That's awesome. Is that roof going to cost you more
- 7:28Speaker 2: than the insurance company's going to pay? Absolutely? It is.
- 7:32Speaker 2: And F wave F wave is literally guaranteed to not
- 7:37Speaker 2: be damaged by hail six inches or smaller.
- 7:41Speaker 1: That's impressive.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I mean, is it's not gonna get hurt. Yeah. Is
- 7:45Speaker 2: that going to cost you more than the insurance roof? Absolutely?
- 7:49Speaker 2: But what is it going to cost if you have
- 7:51Speaker 2: to replace this roof and your insurance company drops you,
- 7:54Speaker 2: and now you're paying higher premiums and you have a
- 7:57Speaker 2: massive deductible and you don't want to go through this again.
- 8:00Speaker 2: It's not fun doing this. It's loud, it's dirty, it's messy,
- 8:05Speaker 2: it's not the funnest experience in the world. And when
- 8:08Speaker 2: we're dealing with insurance companies that have already had to pay,
- 8:14Speaker 2: they're not going to be happy about it. They're not
- 8:16Speaker 2: in the in business to lose money. They have to
- 8:18Speaker 2: make money to maintain those big, beautiful buildings that we
- 8:21Speaker 2: all see them. Just the fact that all I'm saying is,
- 8:24Speaker 2: let just let us show you what we have, because
- 8:27Speaker 2: none of those other companies out there are going to
- 8:28Speaker 2: show you any different type of roof. They just want
- 8:32Speaker 2: to get a cheap roof put on your home that
- 8:33Speaker 2: the insurance company's going to pay for. Not saying that
- 8:36Speaker 2: they're going to do a bad job. A lot of
- 8:37Speaker 2: them probably do a great job, but they're not going
- 8:39Speaker 2: to give you options. We want to give you options
- 8:42Speaker 2: because we want your lot, your roof to last a
- 8:45Speaker 2: long long time.
- 8:47Speaker 1: What's interesting is, too, is when you had you and
- 8:50Speaker 1: I started talking this morning, I went over to the
- 8:51Speaker 1: website LARSENALM Services dot com. I was actually looking at
- 8:54Speaker 1: the f wave because I know you've mentioned them in
- 8:55Speaker 1: the past, and you wonder too, if it's just a
- 8:57Speaker 1: matter of time before insurance companies, in order to be ensured,
- 9:00Speaker 1: you're gonna have to have something like this on your
- 9:02Speaker 1: ome because you start seeing damage after damage. We reached
- 9:05Speaker 1: that point where it's like, all right, the old way,
- 9:08Speaker 1: the old type of shingle just not just not applicable
- 9:11Speaker 1: to our area. And you see this type of damage,
- 9:13Speaker 1: you never know when it's gonna hit, where it's gonna hit.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I had the feeling on Friday. I was watching the
- 9:18Speaker 1: storms move move through and I literally thought, Wow, for once,
- 9:21Speaker 1: Edgerton's gonna be spared, and oh no, we were.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Not in this. Guys are like the storm beltink.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I've hit like tornadoes twice, go right up the road
- 9:31Speaker 1: from my house. My son crazy, Yeah, it's my son's
- 9:33Speaker 1: been in the basement of his high school three times
- 9:36Speaker 1: because of tornado. So it's, uh, it's it is crazy,
- 9:39Speaker 1: and it's it's as we talk with Andrew each and
- 9:42Speaker 1: every week. One of the things you know, and we've
- 9:43Speaker 1: been talking with Andrew for years and years. As you
- 9:46Speaker 1: know Andrew and Larst Home Services, you know the name,
- 9:49Speaker 1: you know they're going to be around. You know that
- 9:50Speaker 1: they're going to give you great options. The other great
- 9:52Speaker 1: thing is have him come out do that roof inspection.
- 9:54Speaker 1: It's not gonna cost you anything. It's not high priceure
- 9:57Speaker 1: at all. They'll give you the information you, as a homeowner,
- 9:59Speaker 1: can make that informed decision about what you want done
- 10:02Speaker 1: with your home and how you want to proceed. Today's
- 10:04Speaker 1: an important day. Give them a call at Larstom Services,
- 10:07Speaker 1: especially if you hit ale, even if it wasn't the
- 10:09Speaker 1: giant stuff, even it was smaller stuff. You just don't
