- 0:54Speaker 1: A Hey, y'all, welcome this week's show. This is actually
- 1:03take two of today's show. I started out recording this
- 1:08a couple of hours ago, and of course while I
- 1:12was recording it, got the news we have a new pope.
- 1:16So I had just been speaking about my feelings about
- 1:20perhaps getting or who the man might be chosen pope,
- 1:25and now we have one. You know what, this is perfect.
- 1:29First of all, let me just reiterate what I said
- 1:32that you never heard. People all week have been discussing
- 1:36or asking me who I want to be pope, and
- 1:40my answer is very simpler, very simple, I should say,
- 1:44the Vicar of Christ. I have absolutely no concern who
- 1:49the man is who fills the office. Jesus said that,
- 1:54you know, he chooses the pope. The Pope is investors
- 1:57of full authority. The Holy Spirit won't allow him to
- 2:00teach error, and the gates of Hell will not prevail
- 2:02against his church. You know, sure I had my favorites,
- 2:06but you know a lot of that is because I
- 2:08knew something about them. I'm sure I love Cardinal Burke,
- 2:12Cardinal Sarah, Pizza Ball, or maybe the guy from Hungary
- 2:17I can't remember his name. Right off the top, of
- 2:19my head that you know, seem to be good picks
- 2:21or a few others I would have, you know, my
- 2:25absolute you know what would have just made me stand
- 2:28on my head in happiness, would have been Unfortunately, now
- 2:36excommunicated Cardinal Viganol. Vigano is fantastic, and I hope he
- 2:42has reinstated to the priesthood very very soon and returned
- 2:46to the office of a cardinal. But I mean that
- 2:48was like, you know, no chance of that happening. But
- 2:52you know what, it really doesn't matter. And our Father,
- 2:56we say, Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done. The
- 3:01Catholic Church is God's kingdom on earth. He chooses the officers.
- 3:06Sometimes he chooses just phenomenal priests to become bishops and
- 3:12cardinals and even pope. But even in his first actions
- 3:16he chose twelve men, one of whom was Judas. He
- 3:20uses bad men for good purposes. I don't think our
- 3:24new pope, Pope Leo what the fourteenth, is a bad
- 3:27man at all. I can't. Honestly, I've done a couple
- 3:31hours of research now I'm not finding out a lot
- 3:34about his political ideology. But again, that doesn't matter. The
- 3:39Pope is infallible in teaching from the seed of Peter.
- 3:43That's ex Cathedra, that's united with the bishops and cardinals. Okay,
- 3:48not on his own, but if he says something on
- 3:51his own, even if they disagree with him, if he's
- 3:54you know, in cathedral, in the seat of Peter, ex cathedral.
- 3:58This one I'm trying to say, his word is the
- 4:02final say, we trust the Holy Spirit to keep him
- 4:04from teaching error, especially in morals, doctrine, dogma, theology, etc.
- 4:11But his opinion on politics is I won't say meaningless
- 4:17because we still show him respect, but not definitive in
- 4:20any way, shape or form. Pope Francis was certainly not
- 4:25my favorite pope of my lifetime. I've been very critical
- 4:28of him. I praised him on other accounts. A lot
- 4:31of times what he said was miscontruded by the press,
- 4:33and I spoke about it and then had to retract
- 4:36my statements. Say, wait a minute, the clarification that came
- 4:38from the official Vatican account says that this is what
- 4:41he actually said. We'll probably see that with a lot
- 4:43with the new pope. People are excited that he's an American. Yeah,
- 4:50that's cool if it leads more Americans to convert to
- 4:53Catholicism is a wonderful thing. The nationality the pope doesn't
- 4:57matter to me. The race of the pope doesn't matter
- 5:00to me, the you know whatever. He's the Vicar of Christ,
- 5:05so I'm hoping for the best. I think he'll probably
- 5:10be a more traditional pope than Pope Francis. You know,
- 5:15I would even go so far as say I think
- 5:16he'll probably be a better pope because Pope Francis just
- 5:21sold a lot of confusion, kind of spoke off the cough,
- 5:26and a lot of his words were misconstrued. But I'm
- 5:29hoping for a little more stability, a little more returned
- 5:34to tradition. I mean, he did pray thee I was listening.
- 5:40I could be wrong on this, but if I'm not mistaken,
- 5:42he started out in Italian, and I don't speak Italian,
- 5:44so I got like every third word or something. I
- 5:47finally found the translation. You can go to the Vatican
- 5:50News website if you want to see the translation of
- 5:52his speech. It was very nice. It was very good.
- 5:54Not a single thing anybody could take issue with. He
- 5:56seemed genuinely moved and humble. That's all. He's a good sign.
- 6:01He wore the traditional vestments. I believe, prayed the final
- 6:06prayer plenary indulgence in Latin. That's pretty big, actually, especially
- 6:11since you know he had tons of plenary indulgence prayers
- 6:15he could have chosen from, and he chose one that
- 6:19emphasized repentance. Boy, we don't hear that enough these days.
- 6:24Go forth and send no more. I feel pretty good
- 6:27about him. Like I said, I can't find a lot
- 6:30of definitive statements on any political issues, and I really
- 6:33don't care. Not only has he got the benefit of
- 6:36the doubt from me, but he's a pope. He has
- 6:39my respect, my absolute loyalty and obedience. That's what we
- 6:45do as Catholics. Now. I know, gosh, so many people
- 6:49listening to the show are upset. I got it. You
- 6:51had your favorites. I had my favorites. We're disappointed, but
- 6:56in the end, we trust God. That's the bottom line.
- 7:00Church has stood for two thousand years. It's the oldest
- 7:04institution on earth. Popes coming go. We think we tend
- 7:10to think just as humans, but especially in modern times
- 7:14because things move very quickly and we get a lot
- 7:17of media that what happens in our lifetime is of lifetimes,
- 7:22I guess you should say, is of utmost importance. Well, actually,
- 7:25if we were like step back and put like the
- 7:27events of our lifetimes in the context of history, we
- 7:32will see that very few things that happen in our
- 7:34lifetimes are actually of any consequence whatsoever, and very few
- 7:38people are either. You know, it's sort of a sad fact.
- 7:41But you know, I guess what Ecclesiastes or Sirric one
- 7:45of them talks about, how you know, even the greatest
- 7:46man's gon to be forgotten in the next few years,
- 7:49the next generation or two. It's true, there are great
- 7:54men of history, and there are like watershed events of history,
- 7:58you might call them. Usually those things happen, but we
- 8:03have no control over whatsoever. We have certainly no control
- 8:07over who the pope is. That's up to the Holy
- 8:10Spirit through the bishops and cardinals. Well, the cardinals and bishops,
- 8:14I guess I should say put in that order the conclave.
- 8:17But the greatest man of our generation will probably be
- 8:23a footnote of history. In one hundred or two hundred years.
- 8:28You could look back at, say the founding of America.
- 8:30Some of the greatest men you've never heard of Okay,
- 8:33if you're Catholic, you may have heard of Charles Carroll.
- 8:36Ninety nine percent of the population United States has never
- 8:38heard of Charles Carroll. Without Charles Carroll, we would have
- 8:41no American Revolution because he basically funded it. The only
- 8:45reason they let a Catholic join the mostly Freemason Masonic
- 8:50you know founders they all were, they were all members
- 8:53of the Masonic Order, was because he was the richest
- 8:55man in the United States. Most people have never heard
- 8:57of him. Now, one of the most pivotal people in history.
- 9:03You know, we could look at any era of history.
- 9:05Another good, great example from that Areauld be doctor Benjamin Rush.
- 9:10Doctor Rush was like the father of American medicine and
- 9:13one of our most important founding fathers. How many people
- 9:16who are even doctors or you know, medical professors have
- 9:20ever heard of Benjamin Rush most less much less modern historians.
- 9:25Who knows who came before them and who are going
- 9:27to come afterrom We get these like highlights of history.
- 9:29We don't know anything. I mean going back. You know,
- 9:34he chose Saint Leo Hope, Saint Leo the Great, to
- 9:38name himself after one of the very best popes, one
- 9:41who really combated what we would now call modernism or
- 9:45communism or whatever that was happening at the time, got
- 9:51not perfect in every regard, but one of the very
- 9:54best of all time, a very very orthodox traditional How
- 10:01many people these days know who he was. But I
- 10:04mean a lot of people now say the Catholic Church
- 10:08has been infiltrated by you know, outside forces, by modernists, communists, globalists,
- 10:15especially Freemasons, and you know, they say there's this great
- 10:18spiritual battle in the Church. There is, and to an
- 10:22extent that's true, but there always has been. Go back
- 10:25to the earliest writings of the Catholic Church. We're talking
- 10:28the first couple hundred years, two three hundred years really,
- 10:33right in that period, the Gnostics had huge influence. The
- 10:38Gnostics really and Nastics are heretics, are essentially anti Catholic
- 10:43heretics that have become priests and teachers and really in
- 10:47high positions in the Catholic Church. A lot of the
- 10:51early writings of the Catholic Church was denouncing the Gnostics.
- 10:58But by what three twenty or so, maybe a little
- 11:02later three point fifty, I don't know, Saint Clement of
- 11:05Alexandria was trying to almost unify and he did. That
- 11:09was you know, that was his effort, and he was
- 11:11very successful unify the heretic Gnostics with the Orthodox Catholics
- 11:16by saying the gnoscissism that you believe that his predecessors
- 11:20had announced thoroughly and really made a mockery of I mean, seriously,
- 11:25get the you know, early church fathers, and they really
- 11:28tore it to shreds. He said, you know, gnostic means knowledge,
- 11:33so one whose gnostic is supposed to search after knowledge.
- 11:36He made the argument that true knowledge is found through
- 11:40the teachings of the Catholic Church, the Orthodox teachings of
- 11:43the Catholic Church, and he led a lot of heretical
- 11:47Gnostics into becoming Orthodox Catholics. The Gnostics are really the
- 11:54ancestors of the Freemasons, if you want to look at
- 11:56it that way. We have had these controversies and different
- 12:00factions in the Catholic Church from day one. And why
- 12:04do I know from day one, Well, Saint Peter had
- 12:06barely been pope. I don't even know if we've been
- 12:08pope a year before Simon the Magician, this is recorded
- 12:12in the Book of Acts asked to buy the power
- 12:15of the Holy Spirit, and he condemned him. Simon went
- 12:18off and formed his own church and called himself God
- 12:21and the Messiah himself, you know, and founded Gnosticism. So
- 12:26we've literally had these struggles in the church for the
- 12:33millennium from the founding of the church, even you know,
- 12:38Saint Paul, Saint Peter, so many in the Acts and
- 12:42further books of the Apostles were condemning heretics and schismatics
- 12:47in the church. But God never took his hand off
- 12:51his church. I mean, the Pope is still the Pope.
- 12:56Jesus said, those who hear you hear me. Those who
- 12:58reject you reject him who sent me. The Pope still
- 13:02has the keys of the kingdom. When he binds on earth,
- 13:04is bound in heaven. And when he looses on earth,
- 13:06we loosed in heaven. And he will be protected from
- 13:09serious error that's teaching anything that's in opposition to the
- 13:15written in oral tradition of the Catholic Church. By the
- 13:19power of the Holy Spirit. And so yeah, I'm going
- 13:22to pray for Pope Leo the fourteenth every single day,
- 13:26for his health, his well being, for his intentions, and
- 13:30that God will continue to guide him to accomplish his will,
- 13:35and you know that's really in my opinion. If you can't,
- 13:44if you don't believe it, if you're upset that your
- 13:46guide it can get in and you can't support the pope,
- 13:49probably need to go talk with a priest about it.
- 13:51Because if the gates of Hell prevailed against the Church
- 13:54of founded by Jesus, then Jesus didn't tell the truth.
- 14:00Jesus didn't tell the truth, and Jesus isn't God. So really,
- 14:06if you're having trouble with this, try to work through it.
- 14:08Otherwise you really may find yourself in the state of
- 14:11mortal sin, and I would not wish that to happen.
- 14:15So just remember, one of those Jesus picked was Judas
- 14:21we never know what's going on behind the scenes. Looks
- 14:24like this time he picked a really good man man
- 14:27we don't know a lot about. So let's just give
- 14:30him the recognition and honoree deserves as pope, and trust
- 14:36God to work it all out. So hey, all right,
- 14:39that's what I'm going to tell you today. Now let's
- 14:41turn to a couple of questions and answers from radio
- 14:44replies that maybe I may not have time to do
- 14:47much more than that today. If I can get into
- 14:49follow Spiagu's book, I will. We'll see how it goes.
- 14:52And it's really interesting. The questionnaire is asking the priests
- 14:57about the devil and evil spirits, and he says, is
- 15:01the devil a supernatural being? And they answer no, he
- 15:04is a natural being in a state prived deprived of
- 15:09supernatural grace. Why is he a natural being? Well, he
- 15:12was created by God and he is in a state
- 15:15deprived of supernatural grace. The grace he was given as
- 15:18an angel before he rebelled against God was supernatural. Person says,
- 15:24Satan is a mythical being, and they answer he is
- 15:27quite content to seem to be a mythical being. He
- 15:31has no desire to be detected in his operations and
- 15:35is not likely to inform you that evil suggestions are
- 15:38from him. Person asks who is Satan? They answer to
- 15:42the word Satan in Hebrew means one who is adverse,
- 15:46and it can refer to any adversary in that sense.
- 15:49Christ said, on one occasion of Peter, get behind me, Satan,
- 15:53thou art a scan one to me? That's Matthew sixteen
- 15:56twenty three. And that's because Peter's wishes were in opposition
- 16:01to what Jesus wished. He wasn't pope at the time,
- 16:05but even so you can see how our Lord uses
- 16:08flawed individuals for good purposes. Satan therefore does not always
- 16:13refer to the devil. But since the devil wants Lucifer
- 16:16or the Angel of Light, is the greatest of all
- 16:19enemies to God in mankind, the word Satan has been
- 16:21applied in a special way to him. Of all our adversaries.
- 16:24He is the adversary. Person asked do you make him
- 16:28also a person rather than influence, and they answer God
- 16:32endowed him with an imperishable personality. He is a person
- 16:37who influences. A person is an intellectual being who is
- 16:41master of his own freely chosen activities. It does not
- 16:45matter whether he be of a spiritual nature as God
- 16:47or the angels, or of a semi spiritual nature as man.
- 16:52The devil has intelligence and free will. He can exert
- 16:55a spiritual influence and suggest evil. Many people say that
- 16:59they do not believe even the devil that is quiet
- 17:01in keeping with his wishes. But Christ definitely warns us
- 17:05against the evil influence of Satan, and obviously a Protestant,
- 17:09this person says our minister told us that evil spirits
- 17:12are not persons but evil thoughts, and that when Christ
- 17:15spoke of Satan falling back like lightning from the heavens
- 17:18in Luke ten eighteen, he really saw a falling star
- 17:22but lacked our present knowledge of astronomy. Now wouldn't that
- 17:25be amazing? If God lacked knowledge in any way? Kind
- 17:30of underminds this Protestant denomination, doesn't it well? They answer, Christ,
- 17:35being God knew all things, Your minister lacked either knowledge
- 17:39of scripture or any real belief in the divinity of Christ.
- 17:43That person continues, is the devil responsible for all sins?
- 17:46They answer indirectly, yes, for he calls the fall of
- 17:49our first parents directly known. Scripture tells us that there
- 17:53are three great enemies of a man's soul that are
- 17:56in the world, the flesh, and the devil. That the
- 18:00three great enemies of man's soul are the world, the flesh,
- 18:04and the devil. Obviously, men sin for merely worldly prosperity
- 18:10or induced by sensual pleasure. At times, however, Satan directly
- 18:13tempts them. But Satan can do no more than suggests
- 18:16evil to our will. He cannot compel our sent man
- 18:20can always refuse consent to evil by the help of
- 18:22God's grace. God is faithful, who will not suffer you
- 18:25to be tempted above that which you are able. For
- 18:28Corinthians ten thirteen, the person asks can you imagine a
- 18:33good God creating a devil? And the answer, I certainly cannot.
- 18:36But then God did not create the devil. Let me explain.
- 18:39God did not create the devil as the devil. In
- 18:41other words, God did not create any evil spiritual being
- 18:45as evil. The angels, as created by God were good
- 18:49beings of a spiritual nature, endowed with intelligence and free will.
- 18:53Goodness alone is the terminus of God's creative activity. But
- 18:57some angels misuse their freedom of will and rendered themselves
- 19:01evil by their opposition to God, who is goodness itself. Yes,
- 19:05are there many devils? And they say yes. Saint John
- 19:08tells us that Satan was cast out of heaven and
- 19:11his angels were thrown down with him. We've got Revelations
- 19:13twelve nine. The devils sought Christ if thou cast us
- 19:18out in Matthew eight thirty one and said that they
- 19:22were legion Mark five nine. And we'll stop that there,
- 19:26You know, I think I can get in that next
- 19:29section on the Mass. Let's see, it's not too long,
- 19:35not too long at all. And as always, this is
- 19:38from fathers Barago's exhaustive Catechism of the Catholic Church, written
- 19:42in the eighteen late eighteen hundreds, posts about eighteen ninety.
- 19:45And this is the value of the sacrifice of Mass
- 19:48as the holy sacrifice of the Mass, is an oblation
- 19:51of infinite value to celebrate or hear a Mass is
- 19:54a good work which surpasses all of the good works
- 19:57and excellence. See, it is one of those things that
- 20:03Protestants don't get. They say you're saved by faith alone,
- 20:06and Jesus actually said by faith and works, and Luther
- 20:09changed his words. Well, one of the works we do
- 20:12is to go to Mass and receive the Eucharist. Another
- 20:15work is to read the Bible. Another work is to pray.
- 20:19Really dear doctrine just falls apart with the slightest pulling
- 20:23of any thread. The value of the sacrifice of the Mass,
- 20:26as the holy sacrifice of the Mass, is an oblation
- 20:29of infinite value to celebrator here, Mass is a good
- 20:33work and ablation is nothing else than a gift we
- 20:37offered to God. Now the value of this gift is
- 20:39proportioned to the dignity of the giver and the costliness
- 20:42of the gift. Thus it is with a sacrifice, the
- 20:44more holiness sacrificer, and the more precious the victim, the
- 20:47greater is greater is its importance in God's sight. Hence,
- 20:52it is that the value of the sacrifice of the
- 20:54Mass is infinite for the priests and victim, or none
- 20:57other than he of whom God the Father said, this
- 21:00is my beloved son, and whom I have well pleased
- 21:02Matthew three point seventeen. The glory given to God in
- 21:05the Mass is greater than that which saccrues to Him
- 21:08from all the good works of the saints. For the
- 21:10glory they give him is finite, whereas the glory receives
- 21:14from the Mass is infinite. It is an honor paid
- 21:17not by angels or men, but by Christ himself. Christ alone,
- 21:20says Coachum, knows the greatness of the divine majesty. He
- 21:24alone knows what is due the most high. He alone
- 21:26is capable of rendering to the Divine majesty the honor
- 21:30that appertains to him. All the angels and men can
- 21:33do for the glory of God scarcely deserves notice in
- 21:35comparison to what Christ does. No sacrifice is an act
- 21:39of such profound abasement as the sacrifice of the Mass,
- 21:43For in it, the all glorious Son of God abases
- 21:46himself to the utmost upon the altar, making himself appear
- 21:50less than man. In presence of the sacrifice of the Mass,
- 21:53all the sacrifice of the Old Testament vanishes to the
- 21:56stars when the sun rises, For those sacrifices will only
- 21:59except to God inasmuch as they foreshadowed the oblation of
- 22:02Christ on the cross, with which the Mass is identical. Therefore,
- 22:06to hear celebrate mass is a good work or of
- 22:09greater excellence than any other. As the Sun exceeds the
- 22:14planets and radiance and vivifying power, so to hear mass
- 22:19devoutly is much more important, more profitable to us than
- 22:24any other good work. If, as says Saint Lawrence Justinian,
- 22:28you place all your good works prayers, fast alms, mortification
- 22:31of one scale and a single mass on the other,
- 22:35you will find the latter far outweighs the former. For
- 22:38the practice of penance we offer to God the gifts
- 22:40that are purely human. But when we hear Mass with
- 22:43do devotion, we offer him gifts that are divine. We
- 22:46offer him the body of Christ, the blood of Christ,
- 22:48the wounds of Christ, the passion of Christ, nay, the
- 22:51only begotten Son of God himself. The Council of Trent
- 22:55declares that no more holy and divine act can be
- 22:57performed by the faithful than the sacrifice of the Mass.
- 23:00To hear masses a good work is more profitable than
- 23:03mental prayer, which is the highest form of prayer, because
- 23:06in meditation we represent to ourselves Christ as present, whereas
- 23:11in the mass He is really present in person. Offering
- 23:16or hearing the mass has more good value as a
- 23:18good work in proportion to the worthiness and devotion of
- 23:20the priests and people. The sacrifice of the mass has
- 23:24a twofold virtue, the one it has of itself, quite
- 23:28independently of the worthiness of the priest. By the sacrifice
- 23:31of the Mass, the virtues of Christ's passion and his
- 23:34merits are applied to our souls in a totally different
- 23:36manner to that of any other work. Hence, a man
- 23:40in no wise loses the fruit of the holy sacrifice
- 23:43if it is offered to him by a priest who
- 23:46is unworthy. Yes, we can have bad priests. Their sacraments
- 23:49are so valid because it's Jesus threw them. Just as
- 23:55the efficacy of the sacraments does not depend on the
- 23:58character of the priests who dispense them. So the oblation
- 24:01of a bad priest is the same intrinsic value that
- 24:04of a good priest. Saint Thomas Aquias wrote on that Yet,
- 24:07on the other hand, the mass, regard as a good
- 24:09work performed by a believing Christian, has a secondary virtue
- 24:12which pretends, which depends upon the sanctity and fervor of
- 24:16the priests and people. The holier the priest, the more
- 24:19profoundest devotion, the more acceptable is the sacrifice he offers,
- 24:22and the greater is the benefit accruing from it. Thus
- 24:26is far preferable to hear the mass of a good
- 24:28priest and that of a careless one, for the piety
- 24:31and sanctity of both the minister himself and the faithful
- 24:33who joined with him in offering the sacred oblation, enhance
- 24:37its beneficial effect, is a good work, and incite those
- 24:40present to greater devotion, And we'll leave it there. As
- 24:43I told you short entry. All right, y'all, have a
- 24:46great week. Say some prayers for the pope, and say
- 24:51some prayers for yourself if you're having trouble with accepting
- 24:54who the new pope is, because you have to as
- 24:59part of being a Catholic. We don't want to be
- 25:02in schism. We want to be part of the Body
- 25:05of Christ, not separated from it. And to do so,
- 25:10we have to acknowledge the authority of the pope, who
- 25:13looks to me like he might be a pretty great pope.
- 25:16And some people, my friend John Benco and others are saying, hey,
- 25:21you know, the first American pope may lead a lot
- 25:23of Americans to convert and become Catholic. That would be great.
- 25:28The Protestant churches are losing members, They're bleeding members like
- 25:31they're hemorrhagy, especially since the COVID lockdowns. People are still
- 25:36somewhat culturally Christian but not practicing. It means, really they're
- 25:41not being brainwashed by anti Catholicism. It's time to bring
- 25:44people into the Catholic Church. So who knows what's going
- 25:46to happen. If he's a good pope, thank God. If
- 25:50he's not, the best pope. Pray to God. Either way,
- 25:54he's the Pope. So y'all have a going and I'll
- 25:57talk to you next week.
