- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey guys, welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast. Today, Ben
- 0:10Speaker 2: is away filming more episodes of his Journey TV show,
- 0:13Speaker 2: I Do. If you guys haven't watched the first two
- 0:16Speaker 2: episodes that are out, go ahead and do that. They're
- 0:18Speaker 2: on YouTube. All you have to do is type in
- 0:20Speaker 2: like Ben Higgins Journey TV show, I Do. And listen,
- 0:23Speaker 2: it's a great show.
- 0:25Speaker 3: It's so cute.
- 0:26Speaker 2: It's so cute. He's perfect for the role. He basically
- 0:29Speaker 2: goes to a destination wedding resort or something like that.
- 0:34Speaker 2: And then he will talk to the couple and he'll
- 0:37Speaker 2: talk to the staff there and you'll see how people
- 0:40Speaker 2: kind of get destination weddings done when you either go
- 0:46Speaker 2: and get married there sight unseen or you go there
- 0:53Speaker 2: once or twice to visit while planning your wedding. It's
- 0:55Speaker 2: not like you're going to the venue and doing a
- 0:58Speaker 2: lot of hands-on stuff. It's a lot of trust.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Could you ever have done a destination wedding?
- 1:04Speaker 2: In some way, I did. Do you know that, Heather?
- 1:06Speaker 3: I don't know. I thought you got married locally.
- 1:09Speaker 2: It was. It was in Newport, but I wasn't living here.
- 1:12Speaker 2: So we were here like three times in the planning process.
- 1:16Speaker 2: One was taking tour of all the places, and then
- 1:20Speaker 2: we were here for tastings. We went to all the
- 1:25Speaker 2: caterers three separate days. It was like three separate Thanksgivings
- 1:29Speaker 2: with the family. It was fun and filling. And then
- 1:33Speaker 2: we were here for a lot of the summer leading
- 1:36Speaker 2: up to our wedding. So I like to say that
- 1:38Speaker 2: there was three occasions of in-person planning. And then our
- 1:43Speaker 2: wedding planner was also LA based. So we would meet
- 1:45Speaker 2: with him throughout the year. We had, um, our videographer
- 1:50Speaker 2: also from LA, our photographer also from LA. So like
- 1:53Speaker 2: we kind of did have sort of a destination wedding.
- 1:56Speaker 2: It was a, we said that our, a third was
- 2:00Speaker 2: coming from like Virginia and random parts of the country.
- 2:03Speaker 2: A third of people were coming from LA and a
- 2:05Speaker 2: third of the people already lived in Rhode Island.
- 2:08Speaker 3: I understand the appeal.
- 2:09Speaker 4: I've been to a couple destination weddings myself and I
- 2:13Speaker 4: get the appeal, but I also, um, think it's probably
- 2:17Speaker 4: a little stressful to like put your, you know, all
- 2:20Speaker 4: of your planning in the hands of maybe somebody who
- 2:25Speaker 4: you don't have a super close relationship with or they,
- 2:27Speaker 4: you know, so I understand that probably some anxiety could
- 2:31Speaker 4: come from that. And that's kind of what makes Ben's
- 2:33Speaker 4: show so interesting is you kind of get to see,
- 2:36Speaker 4: you know, people that are more type A or people
- 2:39Speaker 4: that aren't going through this process of planning a destination wedding. Yeah.
- 2:45Speaker 2: If you have a real planner, I can see not
- 2:47Speaker 2: being stressed. But in these episodes, you'll see that a
- 2:51Speaker 2: lot of it's just a kind of a weekend of coordinator.
- 2:53Speaker 2: And that person isn't dedicating much of their time to
- 2:57Speaker 2: you outside of that weekend. So that's when I get nervous.
- 3:00Speaker 4: There is one episode I watched, though, where the girl
- 3:02Speaker 4: had her own wedding planner that was also then coordinating.
- 3:07Speaker 3: With the venue.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah, that's better. That's easier.
- 3:12Speaker 3: It's interesting. It's an interesting show.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Do we know where Ben is right now? No, actually,
- 3:18Speaker 2: I don't. We don't know his destination for this episode?
- 3:20Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:21Speaker 3: He actually didn't tell me where he's gone this time.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I feel like, Ben, I should have him on my
- 3:26Speaker 2: find my, but I don't. You know how, like, you
- 3:29Speaker 2: have somebody that you talk to so often that you're like, oh, well,
- 3:32Speaker 2: I should be able to look at where they are. Oh,
- 3:33Speaker 2: I guess I.
- 3:34Speaker 4: I think we discovered during the filming of The Bachelor
- 3:37Speaker 4: Mansion Takeover that some people had each other on.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Easton says he does. You have Ben on
- 3:44Speaker 3: Find My?
- 3:45Speaker 2: Okay. Easton, where is he?
- 3:48Speaker 4: Where is ben right now easton yeah easton also had
- 3:51Speaker 4: dean on his.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Find my tennessee so he's just with is he out
- 3:57Speaker 2: not shooting the show this week no he is maybe
- 4:00Speaker 2: he's shooting a resort in tennessee or maybe.
- 4:03Speaker 4: They're doing background packages or something maybe a little bit
- 4:06Speaker 4: different this time okay yeah i don't know watch he's
- 4:10Speaker 4: tricking us he's tricking us No, he's definitely filming the show.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah. Well then, he would have a lot to
- 4:19Speaker 2: say about a Tennessee wedding since he had a Tennessee wedding.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Maybe that's why he's there.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Five years?
- 4:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:26Speaker 2: It's been almost five years.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Alrighty.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Well, let's get into today's subject, which is The Next Bachelor.
- 4:35Speaker 2: We talked a little bit about this last week with
- 4:38Speaker 2: Doug and And how, you know, was that an audition
- 4:42Speaker 2: for The Bachelor when he was on Bachelor Happy Hour?
- 4:45Speaker 2: Or is that just a good ratings get? Who knows?
- 4:49Speaker 2: I think he's in contention. And we discussed how we
- 4:52Speaker 2: don't think that he should at all be The Bachelor,
- 4:55Speaker 2: not because he doesn't seem nice and lovely, but because
- 4:58Speaker 2: let's not do anything wrong. To bring at Heather. Heather
- 5:03Speaker 2: knows that he's if you guys don't know, Heather and
- 5:06Speaker 2: him have had DMs before because he's been in like
- 5:10Speaker 2: central casting, basically.
- 5:11Speaker 4: I've been trying to get Doug for years for a
- 5:14Speaker 4: TV show, but he's turned me down multiple times. But yeah,
- 5:19Speaker 4: I'm in agreement with you. I don't think he's the
- 5:22Speaker 4: right pick. But you and I also know that there's usually, what,
- 5:27Speaker 4: two to three guys that they're always.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Having in the pool? Yeah, usually three contracts go out.
- 5:32Speaker 4: And then they wait until the final moment to kind
- 5:34Speaker 4: of pull the trigger. And from what we've heard from
- 5:37Speaker 4: past contestants, some of them have been quite blindsided towards
- 5:41Speaker 4: the end of that process, thinking that they really had
- 5:43Speaker 4: it in the bag.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Heather, I don't want to sign a contract unless it's
- 5:47Speaker 2: going to be me. I don't want to have my
- 5:49Speaker 2: hopes that high. It's like either have me not be
- 5:54Speaker 2: in consideration or have me sign a contract because oh
- 5:57Speaker 2: my gosh.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Well, and let's say we're Doug Mason in this situation.
- 6:01Speaker 4: You've already filmed a complete series that then never made
- 6:04Speaker 4: it to air.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:05Speaker 4: I wouldn't be signing a contract unless they were like, dude,
- 6:08Speaker 4: it's you.
- 6:09Speaker 1: No.
- 6:10Speaker 2: All right. So to get back to the original point,
- 6:12Speaker 2: he's in contention. Don't think he should be picked because
- 6:16Speaker 2: I don't think anything associated with Taylor Frankie Paul's season
- 6:19Speaker 2: should be picked. That includes another person on our list
- 6:23Speaker 2: of suspects, which would be her runner-up, Shane. He is
- 6:28Speaker 2: going to be on the new Hulu show, The Mob,
- 6:31Speaker 2: which starts airing this month. Shane is cute. It seems
- 6:37Speaker 2: like he has... I think he's become friends with some
- 6:42Speaker 2: bachelor nation alum who's on vacation with Maria and with
- 6:49Speaker 2: Rachel Kirkconnell, Rachel Kirkconnell. And he made a big splash
- 6:54Speaker 2: in episode one, which you and I got to see.
- 6:56Speaker 2: He had almost a story arc in episode one where
- 7:00Speaker 2: it went from like, are you super conceited to like, Oh,
- 7:05Speaker 2: are you a front runner all in one night?
- 7:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:08Speaker 4: And we also know just from the online stuff that
- 7:13Speaker 4: we saw during her season that he also got like
- 7:15Speaker 4: a big one-on-one NFL date. Oh, yeah.
- 7:18Speaker 2: He was on the Jumbotron at a Cowboys game.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Yeah, on the Jumbotron with her. So, yeah.
- 7:23Speaker 4: And we all know how the runner-up is painted to look,
- 7:27Speaker 4: you know, at the end of a season usually. And
- 7:29Speaker 4: from what it sounds like, maybe Doug and her had
- 7:33Speaker 4: kind of a back and forth. He, you know, he,
- 7:36Speaker 4: you know, left a date with her. He said in
- 7:38Speaker 4: his bachelor happy hour interview, like not on great terms
- 7:42Speaker 4: with her. And so I'm wondering just exactly how, if
- 7:46Speaker 4: we ever had seen the season, how Doug would have
- 7:49Speaker 4: come out looking versus Shane, who they then put on
- 7:53Speaker 4: the mob pretty quickly after, which is, you know, part
- 7:57Speaker 4: of the Hulu family. So I feel like that's a
- 8:00Speaker 4: good sign that he was maybe, he would have been
- 8:03Speaker 4: maybe well-received by the fan base.
- 8:06Speaker 2: My question, though, is like, Okay, this isn't a question,
- 8:10Speaker 2: I suppose. It's more so, I don't think the show
- 8:13Speaker 2: The Mob is going to get him enough attention for
- 8:16Speaker 2: him to become a frontrunner for The Bachelor. Is this
- 8:20Speaker 2: like they're traitors?
- 8:22Speaker 4: Yeah, this is like Hulu's version of The Traitors. It's
- 8:25Speaker 4: made by the same creators. It's got a pretty decent cast.
- 8:29Speaker 4: I mean, Parker Posey's the host. We've got Maria also
- 8:33Speaker 4: from Bachelor Nation. We've got Joe Gorga from Real Housewives
- 8:38Speaker 4: of New Jersey. We've got Demi from Secret Lives of
- 8:40Speaker 4: Mormon Wives and a handful of other.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Harry Jousey. Yeah, Harry is a really big one, huh?
- 8:46Speaker 4: And that's the other thing is like Shane has already
- 8:48Speaker 4: kind of also infiltrated that kind of group. I feel
- 8:51Speaker 4: like him and Harry were like hanging out after filming this.
- 8:55Speaker 4: So he's also like in the scene, in the reality...
- 8:59Speaker 4: you know, young person seen right now. Whereas Doug, I'm
- 9:03Speaker 4: not seeing as much. Well, no, they were definitely trying
- 9:05Speaker 4: with Shane.
- 9:06Speaker 2: They wanted him to become... I think their intention was
- 9:09Speaker 2: for him to become the Bachelor after Taylor's season, and
- 9:12Speaker 2: that's why they gave him something.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I would probably agree with that.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Okay, well, hopefully... He is wonderful and charming, and he
- 9:21Speaker 2: garners enough of a following to make a good bachelor.
- 9:24Speaker 2: He's also a lawyer, which I know people, they like
- 9:27Speaker 2: that too over there on Bachelor and Bachelorette. They've had
- 9:32Speaker 2: pretty good, and I'm thinking Andy Dorfman. Who else was
- 9:36Speaker 2: a lawyer?
- 9:37Speaker 3: Mel Owens.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Oh, no. That was not a good one. Who he
- 9:43Speaker 2: told us very many times that he was a lawyer.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I know.
- 9:46Speaker 2: You could never forget.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Wait, there was Andy and there was, oh, Rachel Lindsay.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Oh, yes.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Rachel Lindsay. Two powerful female attorneys. I'm sure there's been
- 9:56Speaker 4: some male contestant attorneys.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Is there another one?
- 9:58Speaker 2: Is there another one? I'm sure. I'm forgetting somebody big.
- 10:01Speaker 3: We're probably forgetting someone.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Let's go to another profession that people like to date.
- 10:17Speaker 2: That is doctors. Okay, I was in the ER at
- 10:22Speaker 2: the Children's Hospital yesterday for not something dramatic, okay? Dawson
- 10:27Speaker 2: had pink eye. Oh, no. And it was probably treated
- 10:31Speaker 2: a little bit too late because we got the antibiotics,
- 10:34Speaker 2: just the drops on Friday night. Saturday, I was like, hmm,
- 10:39Speaker 2: that eye looks a little bit puffy, but the boogers
- 10:42Speaker 2: are going away. And then he woke up and couldn't
- 10:46Speaker 2: open his one eye on Sunday morning because huge edema,
- 10:50Speaker 2: so much swelling. So, you know, took him to the,
- 10:54Speaker 2: took him to the ER. And now I'm just like
- 10:58Speaker 2: airing this story out. Cute third year medical student. And
- 11:03Speaker 2: I'm immediately like thinking about all of my single girlfriends
- 11:06Speaker 2: around this guy's age and being like, how do I
- 11:09Speaker 2: create a setup for this random man who walked into like,
- 11:13Speaker 2: why am I a Yenta? Like I am.
- 11:18Speaker 4: You have to book a follow-up appointment and you have
- 11:21Speaker 4: to bring some emotional support.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah. I just wanted to set him up with my nanny.
- 11:27Speaker 4: I had a gorgeous doctor one time when I got
- 11:31Speaker 4: into the ER.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I was very young. I was like 16 or 17.
- 11:35Speaker 2: This is traumatic when it's you and you're single and
- 11:38Speaker 2: you're young and there's a hot doctor. It's like, whew.
- 11:41Speaker 3: It gets worse.
- 11:42Speaker 2: He's gorgeous.
- 11:43Speaker 4: He comes into my room, greets me. And then I
- 11:46Speaker 4: threw up on myself in front of him.
- 11:48Speaker 3: And he left the room. You did not.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yes, I did.
- 11:52Speaker 3: I was that sick.
- 11:53Speaker 4: And he left the room because he, I was his
- 11:56Speaker 4: first patient too.
- 11:58Speaker 3: He told me I was his first patient.
- 12:00Speaker 2: What do you mean? How was he like, he's a resident?
- 12:02Speaker 2: Like he's like, it's still a medical school.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:04Speaker 3: This was like his first like night or something on
- 12:07Speaker 3: the job.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I remember.
- 12:08Speaker 4: And my mom was a nurse and I threw up
- 12:11Speaker 4: on myself and my mom went into action and he
- 12:14Speaker 4: left the room and I go, mom, he's never going
- 12:18Speaker 4: to marry me now that he see me throw up
- 12:20Speaker 4: on myself.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Mind you, 16 or 17 at the time.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, no. Hilarious.
- 12:26Speaker 4: I don't know if I've ever seen an attractive doctor
- 12:29Speaker 4: other than on the internet since then.
- 12:32Speaker 3: In real life.
- 12:34Speaker 2: In real life? I feel like guys, when they're doctors
- 12:39Speaker 2: in the hospital setting, they get at least a grade
- 12:42Speaker 2: level above what they actually are because they're a doctor. Yeah.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Their brains are so big. It's very attractive.
- 12:50Speaker 2: It's just like you... could help us all in a
- 12:53Speaker 2: scary situation. And that's just so comforting. Anyway. Anyways. Really
- 12:58Speaker 2: got off topic there, kind of, sort of. So Dr. Mike,
- 13:02Speaker 2: Instagram famous doctor. His name is Varshetti. He doesn't even
- 13:08Speaker 2: go by his last name. Like if you just like
- 13:10Speaker 2: look him up, Dr. Mike.
- 13:11Speaker 3: He's Russian.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Okay. He's New Jersey based.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Wait, Easton, maybe hold me accountable. Is he Russian or
- 13:18Speaker 4: from the Ukraine? He's one of those.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Well, yeah, Jared, Jared's family came over like from Poland
- 13:27Speaker 2: with the last name Chobonsky and they're Polish. So Varshavsky. Yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 3: He came over to America when he was a kid.
- 13:36Speaker 3: He's Russian.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Oh, he is like, he's actually from Russia.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Yes.
- 13:40Speaker 2: He doesn't have at all an accent.
- 13:42Speaker 3: I've been a fan for a very long time of Dr.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Mike.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Yes. Yes.
- 13:47Speaker 4: He came over, I know, when he was a child
- 13:50Speaker 4: and with his parents. And yeah, he is really like
- 13:54Speaker 4: a product of the American dream in the sense of
- 13:57Speaker 4: becoming a doctor and then becoming like internet famous. Yeah,
- 14:01Speaker 4: he is really open about his childhood. He started on YouTube,
- 14:07Speaker 4: got really big there, and then crossed over to Instagram
- 14:10Speaker 4: and TikTok.
- 14:11Speaker 2: So he's 36 and.
- 14:14Speaker 2: He has been famous for a while. People magazine named
- 14:18Speaker 2: him the sexiest doctor alive in 2015. I will say
- 14:21Speaker 2: this guy is cute. He's very attractive, obviously. He is
- 14:25Speaker 2: not McDreamy. He is not McSteamy. He is not even
- 14:29Speaker 2: Karev to me, but he is cute. Heather thinks he's
- 14:33Speaker 2: really cute. He's not Jackson Avery.
- 14:35Speaker 3: I don't know who that is. Is that somebody from
- 14:37Speaker 3: Grey's Anatomy?
- 14:38Speaker 2: Really? You've never really followed Grey's Anatomy?
- 14:40Speaker 3: No, I tried to get into it during the pandemic.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Tried to get into it? You didn't get into it
- 14:45Speaker 2: in the first two episodes?
- 14:46Speaker 4: No, once I got to Izzy seeing the ghost, I
- 14:50Speaker 4: was like, oh, this is like way too much.
- 14:53Speaker 3: I can't do it. Like they're talking to ghosts.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Too much soap opera?
- 14:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like, bye, can't do this. But yeah,
- 14:59Speaker 3: I'm a big fan of Dr.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Mike. You want to sign up for the show?
- 15:03Speaker 3: No, because I will die on the hill that Dr.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Mike is not single.
- 15:07Speaker 4: And I have done the internet sleuthing. He has posted
- 15:12Speaker 4: pictures of this girlfriend, not in a bit, but I
- 15:15Speaker 4: went onto her page. His girlfriend is named Lena. And
- 15:20Speaker 4: last I checked, she posted a picture of them together
- 15:22Speaker 4: on September 7th. These rumors about him being in consideration
- 15:27Speaker 4: literally started to circulate in.
- 15:29Speaker 3: The last two weeks. Again, I think he's kind of
- 15:32Speaker 3: a stand-up guy.
- 15:33Speaker 4: Even if they are broken up, I don't think the
- 15:36Speaker 4: first thing he's doing is calling the Bachelor producers when
- 15:40Speaker 4: the body is still warm. You know what I mean?
- 15:42Speaker 4: I just don't think that that's what's happening here. He's
- 15:45Speaker 4: not outwardly denying it. But I think that's because his
- 15:50Speaker 4: PR team is probably like, no.
- 15:51Speaker 2: No, no.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Engage in the free press. Engage in the free likes probably.
- 15:55Speaker 3: That's my guess.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Okay. So you're sleuthing and seeing that she's posted of
- 16:02Speaker 2: him and he's posting of her. But it's not like
- 16:06Speaker 2: a ton, right? And the last time she posted of
- 16:09Speaker 2: him was September 7th.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's what I'm saying.
- 16:13Speaker 4: September 7th, these rumors started, what, October 1st or something?
- 16:18Speaker 4: Only within the last two weeks. I just think that
- 16:21Speaker 4: that would be extremely quick. And they've been together for
- 16:25Speaker 4: a while. I just think it would be really quick
- 16:27Speaker 4: for a guy to be like, oh yeah, we just
- 16:29Speaker 4: broke up three seconds ago. Let's get those Bachelor producers
- 16:32Speaker 4: on the phone.
- 16:33Speaker 2: No, it definitely seems like in September, these rumors started
- 16:37Speaker 2: basically September 7th. Yeah. You know, it doesn't align. I
- 16:41Speaker 2: don't know where it would have come from. But yeah,
- 16:43Speaker 2: it also could have been publicists just planting it, though.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Well, the thing is, is that the titles and the
- 16:49Speaker 4: headlines said Bachelor producers have approached him or something. It's like,
- 16:55Speaker 4: of course they've approached him. They've also probably approached the
- 16:58Speaker 4: hot veterinarian who, oh, shoot, I should have put him
- 17:03Speaker 4: in here.
- 17:03Speaker 2: At first, I thought that he was that guy.
- 17:05Speaker 4: The hot veterinarian, I think, is single.
- 17:08Speaker 2: I'm sure we can find this out.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Yeah, he might be a little on the older side.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Dr.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Evan Anton.
- 17:17Speaker 4: He might be a little bit on the older side
- 17:19Speaker 4: though now because I was also a big fan of his.
- 17:23Speaker 4: Around the same time, him and Dr. Mike started to
- 17:26Speaker 4: kind of pop off. And I think that he also
- 17:29Speaker 4: had a girlfriend for a long time. But I think
- 17:32Speaker 4: he might be single.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Not sure.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Okay, this guy, definitely cute. Let's see how old he is.
- 17:38Speaker 3: I want to say he might be 40.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Classic Bachelor of Casting right here.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Totally, right? And that's why I'm like.
- 17:45Speaker 2: He's really cute. He looks like he could be like
- 17:46Speaker 2: a poor man's Henry Cavill.
- 17:49Speaker 4: And the thing is, is that these guys have been
- 17:52Speaker 4: around for a minute.
- 17:53Speaker 3: There's no way... Yeah, Dr. Evan Anton's 41.
- 17:57Speaker 4: There's no way that bachelor producers haven't reached out because
- 18:02Speaker 4: I on other TV shows was reaching out to these guys,
- 18:05Speaker 4: not to Dr. Mike, but I definitely reached out to Dr.
- 18:08Speaker 4: Evan Anton in the past. So of course they've been approached. Um,
- 18:12Speaker 4: but that doesn't mean that they've said, yes, I know
- 18:16Speaker 4: for a fact to somebody that worked on Colton season
- 18:22Speaker 4: back in the day, told me that bachelor producers circled him.
- 18:27Speaker 3: For years before he became the bachelor.
- 18:31Speaker 4: So, you know, some of these, I just feel like
- 18:35Speaker 4: for me, this is where I think, I think Dr.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Mike is still in a relationship. I also think he's
- 18:41Speaker 3: too expensive. Yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I also think go to a hospital and find a
- 18:46Speaker 2: random doctor. That's odd. Okay.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Like Dr. Travis Stork. That's how he was found.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 18:52Speaker 4: He's okay. He's one of my favorites. You know that
- 18:55Speaker 4: in like bachelor history. Like I think he's one of
- 18:58Speaker 4: the hottest former bachelors there ever was.
- 19:02Speaker 2: What did he look like when he was a bachelor?
- 19:04Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. Ashley, Google that.
- 19:07Speaker 2: He's like a little bit vanilla for me, but hold on.
- 19:10Speaker 4: Oh, he's just an absolute hunk. He looks like he
- 19:13Speaker 4: stepped right out of a Ralph Lauren catalog.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Oh, I know why. He's like unrecognizable in these pictures.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Well, that's because it was like 20-something years ago.
- 19:23Speaker 2: He looks better now.
- 19:24Speaker 3: You think he looks better now?
- 19:25Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 19:27Speaker 4: I think he was so dreamy back then, and I
- 19:29Speaker 4: thought he was dreamy when he was on The Doctors,
- 19:31Speaker 4: just like, So attractive.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I know him from The Doctors.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Yeah, the sideburns are a little long when he was
- 19:37Speaker 3: The Bachelor.
- 19:37Speaker 2: It's a little bit more of like a Caesar haircut,
- 19:40Speaker 2: which I'm never a fan of a Caesar.
- 19:42Speaker 4: But also, remember, he had one of those Bachelor seasons
- 19:46Speaker 4: that filmed overseas, which is something I think they need
- 19:48Speaker 4: to bring back, by the way. I think that yes
- 19:52Speaker 4: his filmed in France and they like lived in a
- 19:56Speaker 4: castle or a chateau or something I think that that
- 20:00Speaker 4: was a special little element of the show that they
- 20:03Speaker 4: did for a handful of seasons and I think they
- 20:04Speaker 4: should bring that back.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Well I loved it when they did Emily Maynard's in
- 20:07Speaker 2: North Carolina at her house That's great.
- 20:10Speaker 4: I mean, I'm just over the Bachelor Mansion, and as
- 20:13Speaker 4: we watch, like, Bachelor Rewind with Bob's season, and we
- 20:16Speaker 4: see a different mansion that's, like, on the water, I'm like, yeah,
- 20:19Speaker 4: let's change up the location.
- 20:21Speaker 3: This is fun.
- 20:21Speaker 2: See, I'm not, but okay. That's just my nostalgia, my
- 20:24Speaker 2: personal tie to it.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Yeah, that's your personal nostalgia, because that place looked like
- 20:27Speaker 4: a rundown Pier 1 in Ports.
- 20:30Speaker 2: It's a Pier 1, that's for sure. But great nostalgia.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Thank you. So then we have Robert Irwin, who we've
- 20:48Speaker 2: talked about him many times before as being a candidate.
- 20:52Speaker 2: He was on Dancing with the Stars. He is now
- 20:55Speaker 2: the Dancing with the Stars next pro host.
- 20:58Speaker 4: So yeah, he won Dancing with the Stars and then
- 21:01Speaker 4: he hosted that show right after.
- 21:03Speaker 2: So he says just in August, he said this when
- 21:08Speaker 2: asked about being The Bachelor. Yeah, well, I like to
- 21:11Speaker 2: keep that pretty private, everything about my personal life. I'd
- 21:15Speaker 2: never say never. This is back in February, though. In
- 21:18Speaker 2: this realm that I'm in, I'm really like, never say never.
- 21:22Speaker 2: But he also is rumored to have a girlfriend. She'd
- 21:26Speaker 2: be a wildlife photographer. Her name is Ashley.
- 21:29Speaker 4: She's stunning, by the way. If that really is his girlfriend,
- 21:32Speaker 4: she's very pretty.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Okay. Well, I also think he's too young. So 22
- 21:36Speaker 2: is too young to be the bachelor. I'm so sorry.
- 21:39Speaker 2: But it's like, what are you going to do? Have
- 21:40Speaker 2: a whole bunch of cougars on? Because you're going to
- 21:43Speaker 2: just say that like, oh, all the girls have to
- 21:44Speaker 2: be like 25 and under. Come on now. That is
- 21:47Speaker 2: going to be the youngest. It's children dating.
- 21:49Speaker 4: I do not agree with this. I don't get the
- 21:52Speaker 4: age thing.
- 21:53Speaker 2: You don't think you want him to be a 22-year-old
- 21:56Speaker 2: bachelor with 22-year-old girls?
- 21:58Speaker 4: Yeah, but he's a 22-year-old bachelor who's lost a father
- 22:02Speaker 4: who like runs a huge zoo with his family. Like
- 22:06Speaker 4: he's not out here like. living in a frat house
- 22:11Speaker 4: at 21.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I totally get it. He's like the most mature 22
- 22:14Speaker 2: year old ever. However, how young are the girls going
- 22:18Speaker 2: to be?
- 22:19Speaker 3: But why does it matter though?
- 22:21Speaker 4: Like we watch dating shows, every other dating show on TV,
- 22:24Speaker 4: majority of the people are in that 19.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Not, not even 19. They're in that 21 to 25
- 22:29Speaker 3: age range.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Really? Because when I was on Bachelor, the average age
- 22:35Speaker 2: was 26. I was, no wait, it was 27 and
- 22:38Speaker 2: I was 26 in my group.
- 22:39Speaker 4: But that's like, for Love Island, that's like too old.
- 22:44Speaker 4: And that's like the number one dating show, you know?
- 22:46Speaker 4: Like they had a 30-year-old this last season on Love
- 22:49Speaker 4: Island and it was like, he was like the only 30-year-old.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Do you know what though? To me, it's the stakes.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Because like the stakes are not high in having to
- 22:58Speaker 2: find your soulmate when you're 22.
- 22:59Speaker 4: Yeah, but you don't, Other than you, the majority of
- 23:05Speaker 4: the people that have been on the show haven't found
- 23:07Speaker 4: their soulmate.
- 23:07Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 23:08Speaker 4: So I just feel like part of the problem and
- 23:12Speaker 4: the decline in the show is that they've been too
- 23:16Speaker 4: rigid on things like age and instead like looked for
- 23:21Speaker 4: the best characters. And by characters, I mean like personalities, people.
- 23:27Speaker 4: That's what we call people like behind the scenes. Like
- 23:29Speaker 4: we call them by their character arc and like, when
- 23:33Speaker 4: you're making a television show at the end of the day,
- 23:35Speaker 4: it should be about that because it should be about
- 23:40Speaker 4: people that are single and that are looking for love.
- 23:43Speaker 4: I personally think that the engagement element should probably go away. Um,
- 23:48Speaker 4: since it doesn't tend to like work out for most people.
- 23:52Speaker 4: And it also just feels like a letdown. Like I
- 23:55Speaker 4: think it's a letdown when they don't propose. And I
- 23:57Speaker 4: think it's a letdown when, when they propose and then
- 24:01Speaker 4: break up right away.
- 24:02Speaker 3: So my whole thing is like, do away with that. Like,
- 24:06Speaker 3: do something else.
- 24:07Speaker 2: I guess. But isn't what The Bachelor's about is being traditional?
- 24:10Speaker 3: But that's the thing.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Or is that now what The Vow is going to
- 24:13Speaker 2: be about?
- 24:14Speaker 4: The show also just needs to evolve, though, because what
- 24:17Speaker 4: they've been.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Doing isn't working. There's some fun things.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Everybody should go back and listen to the episodes of
- 24:24Speaker 4: Bachelor Rewind that we're doing with Ben and Bob. Because
- 24:27Speaker 4: there are elements of the show that have changed over
- 24:29Speaker 4: the years. Like there was like eliminations that would take
- 24:33Speaker 4: place like on the spot.
- 24:35Speaker 3: And if you didn't get a white rose, you were
- 24:37Speaker 3: like scent packing.
- 24:39Speaker 4: Yeah, there's like all these different elements and things that
- 24:43Speaker 4: they used to do like on the show that they
- 24:46Speaker 4: don't do anymore.
- 24:47Speaker 2: All right. Well, I listen to you. I hear you.
- 24:51Speaker 2: I feel you. And let's go into another 22-year-old.
- 24:54Speaker 4: I do think, though, that Robert Irwin would be, out
- 24:58Speaker 4: of the people on this list, he's the one that I.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Would want the most. I probably agree. Like, if we
- 25:03Speaker 2: had to pick, like, from Shane, like, just saying that, like,
- 25:05Speaker 2: Shane might actually be, like, a real candidate versus Robert,
- 25:09Speaker 2: I would also go with Robert because guess what? I
- 25:11Speaker 2: think Robert would take it more seriously.
- 25:13Speaker 4: But also, and it brings in the element that I
- 25:15Speaker 4: just said that they should go back to, which is
- 25:17Speaker 4: filming overseas. Imagine they go film the entire season in Australia.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Like, that's fun.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Watching the girls go to the Outback, watching them, like,
- 25:25Speaker 3: go with Anna. Like, that's fun. I just think that also, like,
- 25:31Speaker 3: not shade to the Goldens.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Like, I love them. I love our Golden people that
- 25:35Speaker 4: we work with. They're all great in their own way. But, like,
- 25:38Speaker 4: when you have Goldens going on the show and, like …
- 25:43Speaker 4: not being serious about love and stuff. It's like, I
- 25:47Speaker 4: don't think it matters at any age, quite honestly. I
- 25:49Speaker 4: just think it should matter on the person who's best
- 25:54Speaker 4: fit to be the lead, not their number. Okay.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Guys, DM us. Let us know on the Almost Famous
- 26:00Speaker 2: Instagram whether or not you think that age, and when
- 26:03Speaker 2: we mean age, I don't mean like a 25, 26-year-old bachelor.
- 26:06Speaker 2: That was Ben, obviously. Ben was very much ready for it,
- 26:09Speaker 2: even though it didn't turn out happily ever after. but
- 26:12Speaker 2: like 22. Is it too young to be the lead?
- 26:15Speaker 2: Or in a case like Robert Irwin, wow, Irwin, is
- 26:21Speaker 2: it good for the show? Okay, so then we move
- 26:25Speaker 2: on to another 21-year-old, one that I actually think my
- 26:29Speaker 2: sister may have said last week should be The Bachelor.
- 26:33Speaker 3: There's so many people talking about this right now. That's
- 26:35Speaker 3: for sure.
- 26:36Speaker 2: He is on Dancing with the Stars. It's Ezra Freck. Okay.
- 26:40Speaker 2: So to be honest, he's the one of everybody on
- 26:42Speaker 2: Dancing with the Stars this season that I didn't know.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I don't really know. But he's the Paralympic gold medalist
- 26:49Speaker 2: who is so popular on the show because he comes
- 26:53Speaker 2: across so sweet. And he's just like the most likable
- 26:57Speaker 2: person ever.
- 26:58Speaker 3: He's also just killing it on the dance floor.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Like it's actually.
- 27:03Speaker 4: It's beautiful and insane to watch at the exact same time.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Okay. Just how his body moves. It's insane.
- 27:11Speaker 2: So people are just really a fan of him possibly
- 27:15Speaker 2: being the Bachelor. It makes sense being when he's on
- 27:18Speaker 2: Dancing with the Stars. We've never had a gold medalist
- 27:21Speaker 2: Olympian be the Bachelor. So that would be an interesting twist.
- 27:27Speaker 2: But the thing is, like, even Tyler Cameron is like,
- 27:31Speaker 2: maybe we put a pin in him and let's just
- 27:35Speaker 2: have that stud keep growing up. He said that he
- 27:37Speaker 2: came on the show at 26. So maybe in five years.
- 27:41Speaker 3: It's so funny.
- 27:42Speaker 4: Cause anytime somebody on dancing with the stars is like,
- 27:45Speaker 4: as they're competing, if they're, if somebody is ever like,
- 27:48Speaker 4: you should be the next bachelor always on dancing with
- 27:50Speaker 4: the stars. They're like, let him just focus on the competition, please.
- 27:53Speaker 4: Like let him just focus on one thing at a time.
- 27:56Speaker 4: They said the same thing to Robert Irwin last season, but,
- 27:59Speaker 4: when they were like, would you ever be the Bachelor?
- 28:00Speaker 3: His partner was like, can we just focus on dancing?
- 28:04Speaker 2: Absolutely. No, it's like the ultimate audition show. You either
- 28:07Speaker 2: go from Dancing with the Stars and you're a Bachelor hopeful,
- 28:11Speaker 2: or you are on The Bachelor and you hope to
- 28:14Speaker 2: go on Dancing with the Stars. This guy is really cute, though.
- 28:17Speaker 2: This picture that you have in the rundown is not
- 28:19Speaker 2: his finest. He's in a sparkly, bedazzled suit. That's his
- 28:22Speaker 2: Dancing with the Stars photo. I know, totally. But in
- 28:24Speaker 2: his videos, adorable, very Aladdin-like. Anything else, Heather?
- 28:28Speaker 3: I'm just dying over. He's very Aladdin-like.
- 28:32Speaker 2: He is very Aladdin-like. He looks like he could have
- 28:35Speaker 2: been the guy who played it. He was very cute too.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I think he's adorable. Obviously, he's got a great
- 28:41Speaker 4: story of resilience. And again, a lot of life lived
- 28:46Speaker 4: in that one. So I don't think, again, that age matters.
- 28:49Speaker 4: I think that when you've been through a lot of stuff,
- 28:54Speaker 4: you become a lot wiser.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Beyond your years.
- 29:00Speaker 4: And I think with him, we would get a great season,
- 29:05Speaker 4: but I don't know him enough to know how gregarious
- 29:10Speaker 4: he would be in that kind of situation. And that's
- 29:14Speaker 4: the thing is like, what makes a good lead a
- 29:16Speaker 4: good lead, in my opinion, is being the guy that
- 29:21Speaker 4: can hold a room on his own. I've been around Ben.
- 29:26Speaker 4: I think Ben can hold a room on his own.
- 29:28Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Yeah.
- 29:29Speaker 4: There's other recent bachelors who I don't think can hold
- 29:34Speaker 4: a room on their own, you know?
- 29:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:36Speaker 3: And um, so I think that when I look at
- 29:39Speaker 3: this list, I'm like, Oh.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Yeah, Dr.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Mike's got that.
- 29:42Speaker 2: He for sure. He could do it.
- 29:44Speaker 3: And then I look at Robert Irwin and I'm like,
- 29:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah, he could do it.
- 29:48Speaker 2: The others.
- 29:49Speaker 3: I don't know because I haven't seen them enough.
- 29:51Speaker 2: You're so right. The two of them definitely can. They
- 29:55Speaker 2: could clink that champagne with confidence. And by the way,
- 29:58Speaker 2: Ezra is, um, He was born with a limb difference.
- 30:03Speaker 2: He has a prosthetic, has learned to run to a
- 30:08Speaker 2: gold medal level with that difference. And, of course, perhaps
- 30:14Speaker 2: went dancing with the stars with it, which is unbelievable.
- 30:17Speaker 3: He also doesn't have a hand.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Yeah, they gave him a thumb with his big toe
- 30:22Speaker 2: in surgery when he was little.
- 30:24Speaker 3: I mean, it's just.
- 30:26Speaker 4: You have to watch him on Dancing with Stars if
- 30:28Speaker 4: you're not watching this season. He's absolutely magnificent when he's
- 30:32Speaker 4: on the floor. It's beautiful.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Alrighty. Well, love you guys so much. Until next time,
- 30:38Speaker 2: I've been Ashley.
- 30:39Speaker 3: I've been Heather.
- 30:40Speaker 2: See ya.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Bye.
