A heroic former police officer from Sacramento, Austin James, bravely confronted a shooter at an In-N-Out in Idaho, taking a bullet himself to save lives. Though critically injured, he’s stable and his family praises his selfless act — saying he drew the gunman’s attention, giving others time to escape.
