- 1:14Speaker 1: DeBie Brown Gosh. I sat and listened to of the
- 1:18Speaker 1: intro song today and y'all, it hits like every like
- 1:25Speaker 1: ten shows or so. I just have to always say, huge, huge, huge,
- 1:30Speaker 1: huge thank you to my friend Namdi okafor who wrote
- 1:34Speaker 1: that opening poem that is our show intro into my
- 1:37Speaker 1: friend day One, who produced the track. I think I've
- 1:41Speaker 1: shared this story before, but my inspiration was when I
- 1:45Speaker 1: connected a day One, I was like, can you produce
- 1:48Speaker 1: a song for me for my podcast? I wanted to
- 1:51Speaker 1: sound like g funk meets elevator music. And for those
- 1:55Speaker 1: that are from the West Coast, you know just what
- 1:57Speaker 1: I mean by g funk, but it's the a very
- 2:00Speaker 1: specific music style to l a mixed with like you know,
- 2:05Speaker 1: the subtleness, the melody, the mood of an elevator music.
- 2:11Speaker 1: And then my boy Namdijs wrote such a beautiful, beautiful,
- 2:15Speaker 1: beautiful piece of poetry to share. So I just felt
- 2:19Speaker 1: super grateful for that. All right, what's up, y'all. Great
- 2:22Speaker 1: to be back with you, Thank you for joining the show.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Thank you so much everyone that has taken the time
- 2:27Speaker 1: to leave a review. That really means a lot. Um
- 2:31Speaker 1: and y'all go in like, it's not just like, hey,
- 2:33Speaker 1: I like this show, Um, you're really sharing with me
- 2:36Speaker 1: such deep insights and deep connections to the ways that
- 2:39Speaker 1: you may connect with one of the guests on this
- 2:41Speaker 1: show or some of the things that were shared, and
- 2:43Speaker 1: it means a lot, and I really thank you for that.
- 2:46Speaker 1: So if you have a chance and you haven't yet
- 2:48Speaker 1: and you enjoyed this show, go ahead and give it
- 2:50Speaker 1: that thank five stars, and uh leave a review. Thank you.
- 2:54Speaker 1: All right, let's get into today's show. So we are
- 2:57Speaker 1: at a very interesting time of year right now. It is,
- 3:00Speaker 1: uh we are shortly before going into in a completely
- 3:03Speaker 1: new year. And something that I really like to do
- 3:08Speaker 1: more so starting in November is really start wrapping my
- 3:12Speaker 1: mind around are there new ways of being that I
- 3:17Speaker 1: want to invite in. I don't do resolutions, and my
- 3:21Speaker 1: astrologers shared with me shout out to Darryll that, uh,
- 3:24Speaker 1: the new year is actually not even the best time
- 3:27Speaker 1: to set intentions because there's no planetary energy behind it
- 3:31Speaker 1: versus some other times of the years, especially the starts
- 3:34Speaker 1: of different seasons or at solstice. But November December really
- 3:39Speaker 1: this time of the years that I like to get
- 3:40Speaker 1: really reflective. I like to take stock and then I
- 3:42Speaker 1: like to reimagine, um, what is my spiritual practice, need, desire,
- 3:48Speaker 1: what does it want to grow into. Sometimes I add
- 3:51Speaker 1: things that the new year, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I
- 3:53Speaker 1: remove things sometimes I don't, But I really just check
- 3:56Speaker 1: in with myself and I check in with my body
- 3:58Speaker 1: and check in with my heart, and I see what
- 4:00Speaker 1: are my needs and how can I meet them? And
- 4:03Speaker 1: so that is some of what I've just been thinking
- 4:05Speaker 1: about this time of year. And I think I'm going
- 4:06Speaker 1: to record an entirely different episode for next week related
- 4:11Speaker 1: to really being able to set some powerful intentions for
- 4:14Speaker 1: this new energy that is coming in UM. But something
- 4:18Speaker 1: that I really wanted to do, which is what today's
- 4:20Speaker 1: episode is going to be, as I wanted to connect
- 4:24Speaker 1: and find out, you know, what are what are some
- 4:27Speaker 1: needs the collective has, what are some questions that are
- 4:31Speaker 1: coming up for us all? And so I decided to
- 4:33Speaker 1: start going live once a week for the most part
- 4:38Speaker 1: on my Instagram channel I do for those that connect
- 4:41Speaker 1: with me on I GM at Debbie Brown on there,
- 4:43Speaker 1: and for the past really year and a half, I've
- 4:46Speaker 1: been doing a lot of lives with Chopra, done lives
- 4:50Speaker 1: UM with some of our educators, with Deepak, with some
- 4:53Speaker 1: of the really beautiful work that we do over at Chopra.
- 4:57Speaker 1: But then I decided I want to go live on
- 4:59Speaker 1: my page too, and I really want to start UM
- 5:03Speaker 1: diving into with a little more room, more specific questions
- 5:07Speaker 1: about the spiritual journey, and what I say when I
- 5:11Speaker 1: I'm speaking specifically about the spiritual journey. It's not just like, oh,
- 5:15Speaker 1: how do I meditate? I can't meditate, though that is
- 5:18Speaker 1: a valid question that a lot of people have, but
- 5:19Speaker 1: it is a question that I speak to quite a bit.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I wanted to dive into more of the UM, more
- 5:28Speaker 1: of the grooves, more of the cracks, more of the
- 5:30Speaker 1: crevices of how we experience ourselves and how we experience
- 5:35Speaker 1: our journeys, and answer questions that are deeply related to that.
- 5:39Speaker 1: So that is what I do now once a week
- 5:41Speaker 1: on Live for the most part, once a week UM.
- 5:45Speaker 1: And the very first time that I did that, I
- 5:48Speaker 1: received questions that really really blew me away UM and
- 5:52Speaker 1: I got a chance to connect with so many friends
- 5:55Speaker 1: UM who joined me for that Live. So that is
- 5:58Speaker 1: what I wanted to share with you today. There are
- 6:00Speaker 1: questions that I am diving into and I'm packing that
- 6:03Speaker 1: relate to how to create UM a spiritual container for yourself,
- 6:08Speaker 1: how to create your spiritual practice. I have questions on
- 6:10Speaker 1: how to navigate depression and how to navigate UM. Some
- 6:15Speaker 1: of the more shadowy aspects of what being on a
- 6:18Speaker 1: wellness journey is and so let's dive into all of
- 6:22Speaker 1: that now. Let's go. So I want to talk about
- 6:25Speaker 1: meditation today, and I'm kind of flirting with the idea
- 6:28Speaker 1: of doing some lives once a week and just kind
- 6:31Speaker 1: of calling an office hours and any questions that you
- 6:34Speaker 1: have as you're on your journey, just kind of taking
- 6:37Speaker 1: a second to explore them. So I go live on
- 6:40Speaker 1: Chokra a lot, but I wanted to also make sure
- 6:43Speaker 1: that for those that don't follow that account, UM, we
- 6:45Speaker 1: get a chance to connect and talk and all the things.
- 6:49Speaker 1: So my idea today was and I'm just flirting with this,
- 6:52Speaker 1: so I'll probably be on for about fifteen minutes. I
- 6:54Speaker 1: wanted to talk about meditation UM. Meditation is something that
- 6:58Speaker 1: I've been doing for the last ten years, and as
- 7:01Speaker 1: I share quite a bit everywhere UM, definitely on my podcast.
- 7:06Speaker 1: It changed. Meditation truly changed absolutely everything about my life
- 7:12Speaker 1: and the way that I experienced myself in the ways
- 7:16Speaker 1: that I experience and relate to other people. And so
- 7:20Speaker 1: I've recognized when I first learned meditation, even though I
- 7:23Speaker 1: was in a completely different life path at the time,
- 7:26Speaker 1: working in a completely different world, I knew it was
- 7:30Speaker 1: a divine calling on my life to share meditation with
- 7:33Speaker 1: my community and share especially UM, the access to our
- 7:43Speaker 1: own self love and self acceptance, the access to our
- 7:48Speaker 1: internal process. UM. So I would love to deep dive
- 7:53Speaker 1: in meditation here. And I think maybe next time I
- 7:55Speaker 1: go live, maybe later this week, we can do Okay,
- 8:01Speaker 1: so I see my first question. We can do meditation.
- 8:05Speaker 1: I can lead you on a meditation here. UM. I
- 8:08Speaker 1: also lead daily meditation on the app. It's called Chopra
- 8:11Speaker 1: and it's available in the iOS store, and I have
- 8:14Speaker 1: daily meditations that are really approachable because I just want
- 8:17Speaker 1: to say the number one thing that every single human
- 8:19Speaker 1: being says is that, um, Daniel, what up that every
- 8:26Speaker 1: single human being says? Is I think too much? There's
- 8:30Speaker 1: no way, or oh I have too many thoughts in
- 8:33Speaker 1: my day, or oh I'm too busy, and you know,
- 8:35Speaker 1: it's kind of like, well, welcome to the human experience.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Every person that has ever meditated ever in life has
- 8:43Speaker 1: thought and said that same thing. And I think the
- 8:45Speaker 1: latest staff from scientists is somewhere around the lines of
- 8:49Speaker 1: as humans, we think thirty thou thoughts a day, um,
- 8:53Speaker 1: just naturally about any and everything and so that part
- 8:57Speaker 1: of it comes with the territory, and that's why we
- 8:59Speaker 1: develop practice. So if you have any questions about your
- 9:03Speaker 1: meditation practice, especially specific ones, whatever it is, there's no
- 9:08Speaker 1: question that's too big or too small. UM, nothing is silly.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Let this be a safe space and ask me anything
- 9:15Speaker 1: as it relates to your meditation or spiritual practice journey. UM.
- 9:19Speaker 1: One of the questions that I saw Dan Yelle, the
- 9:23Speaker 1: Queen of Content, one of the questions that I saw
- 9:27Speaker 1: come up was along the lines of my apartment is
- 9:31Speaker 1: too small? How do I meditate? That's so silly. We
- 9:37Speaker 1: can meditate. And this is why I think it's so,
- 9:39Speaker 1: so so important to talk about meditation, and I really
- 9:42Speaker 1: want to push myself to do it more and just
- 9:44Speaker 1: make it um so demystified. Right, Like I think that
- 9:47Speaker 1: there's this deep misconception that to meditate or to be
- 9:51Speaker 1: a meditator, it means that you've also joined in oshroom
- 9:55Speaker 1: and your full vegan and you know you're always your
- 9:58Speaker 1: highest self and all those things, and that's just not true. Like,
- 10:01Speaker 1: meditation is a companion for the journey. Meditation is um.
- 10:09Speaker 1: It's your internal GPS system. It is your way to
- 10:13Speaker 1: learn your own enoughness is your way to learn how
- 10:17Speaker 1: to be with one another. That is so funny, it's
- 10:20Speaker 1: the real Why would your apartment need to be bigger
- 10:23Speaker 1: to meditate? Please enlighten me? Oh good? Okay, So I
- 10:29Speaker 1: see a question from Diana, which is what is the
- 10:34Speaker 1: best time to meditate? Morning or night? I recommend both. Um.
- 10:39Speaker 1: You know, I think there there was a very consistent
- 10:42Speaker 1: kind of stream of thought that everyone should start their
- 10:44Speaker 1: day with it, and I do agree with that. I
- 10:46Speaker 1: think setting an intention for the beginning of your day,
- 10:49Speaker 1: which you kind of naturally do through meditation or you
- 10:53Speaker 1: become a little more connected to changes everything about how
- 10:57Speaker 1: that day will be experienced and felt by you. Um.
- 11:00Speaker 1: But something that I, as like a busy toddler single mom,
- 11:04Speaker 1: have discovered is that that's not always feasible. But I
- 11:07Speaker 1: still need my nourishment and I still need a way
- 11:10Speaker 1: to just fully be with myself. And so I've actually
- 11:14Speaker 1: created a really expansive evening meditation practice for myself. Now
- 11:17Speaker 1: I might get in about, you know, maybe fifteen minutes
- 11:20Speaker 1: in the morning, but my evening, after I put my
- 11:23Speaker 1: son down to bed, I probably meditate for about an
- 11:25Speaker 1: hour at night. And that has been really really powerful
- 11:29Speaker 1: for me. I've really been enjoying that. So the great
- 11:32Speaker 1: thing about your practice, I think, to get started, create
- 11:34Speaker 1: some consistency for yourself. So choosing one time of day
- 11:38Speaker 1: that you're really going to try on this new way
- 11:40Speaker 1: of being every single day, UM, it helps you lock
- 11:44Speaker 1: you into being able to actually feel and see the
- 11:47Speaker 1: differences and create this system where you're able to show
- 11:50Speaker 1: really confidently in your practice. But then after that, the
- 11:54Speaker 1: beauty about having a spiritual practice, it's all about the creativity.
- 11:58Speaker 1: It's all about creating YEA, what works for you. And
- 12:02Speaker 1: meditation allows you to get to know yourself really well,
- 12:06Speaker 1: so you can actually answer that question very fully UM
- 12:09Speaker 1: in a way that creates um deep nourishment for you. UM.
- 12:16Speaker 1: That really creates a service to you. So morning is
- 12:21Speaker 1: ideal to get started. The recommended UM kind of uh
- 12:26Speaker 1: recipe of meditation UM would be meditating two times a
- 12:30Speaker 1: day for twenty minutes. UM. So think morning when you
- 12:33Speaker 1: wake up, and then think like maybe early evening, like
- 12:35Speaker 1: around a four PM. When I first started meditating and
- 12:39Speaker 1: I was still working in radio, what I used to
- 12:40Speaker 1: do is I would finish my shift and then I
- 12:44Speaker 1: would go sit in my car for twenty minutes and
- 12:47Speaker 1: meditated my car right at four pm and then go
- 12:49Speaker 1: back inside and then go home. So you find ways
- 12:52Speaker 1: to do it, and it doesn't have to be so
- 12:54Speaker 1: precious your meditation practice. It doesn't have to always be
- 12:57Speaker 1: like right, But I'm sitting perfectly, and I have my
- 13:00Speaker 1: mudras and you know, I have my my backjack behind
- 13:03Speaker 1: me and all of those things that can. Like I've
- 13:06Speaker 1: meditated standing in line before being in a long line.
- 13:10Speaker 1: I'm also the kind of person that will go deep
- 13:11Speaker 1: inside real fast, so I'll just be like da And
- 13:18Speaker 1: that's just my way of being. But it can be
- 13:20Speaker 1: done anywhere, literally anywhere. And so that's why I was
- 13:24Speaker 1: laughing when Into the Real said my apartment is too small.
- 13:27Speaker 1: You know, with wellness being so on trend, it's really
- 13:31Speaker 1: been about the luxury of wellness. But meditation is free.
- 13:35Speaker 1: It is free, It is simple. It is something you
- 13:38Speaker 1: can do everywhere on any corner of the earth, regardless
- 13:41Speaker 1: of your background, regardless regardless of your culture, regardless of
- 13:45Speaker 1: how much money you have. Is something that is truly
- 13:49Speaker 1: just a dialogue between you and the divine happening inside
- 13:52Speaker 1: of yourself. Um, so there's always opportunity to do that.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Sometimes it helps to get all the trinkets though. Right
- 14:00Speaker 1: the backjacks or this is my meditation space that we're in,
- 14:03Speaker 1: it's painted orange for the sacral chakra. UM. It can
- 14:07Speaker 1: feel really serving to have those extra adornments and makes
- 14:10Speaker 1: it more of an experience. UM. It makes it delightful
- 14:14Speaker 1: for you. It makes it your own. But it's not necessary. Actually, okay,
- 14:20Speaker 1: let me let me look for some more questions. As
- 14:23Speaker 1: a beginner, would you suggest guided or using some form
- 14:26Speaker 1: of sounds? Thank you for that question to get started.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I do recommend guided. UM. I don't use guided for
- 14:33Speaker 1: myself now, but for probably the first two years of
- 14:36Speaker 1: my practice. For the first year, for sure, I used
- 14:39Speaker 1: guided every day, and then I would kind of supplement
- 14:43Speaker 1: and I would do one guided, one not guided, until
- 14:45Speaker 1: I got really comfortable with my own silence. There is
- 14:48Speaker 1: no timetable on that. It just depends to who you are,
- 14:51Speaker 1: how you live, and what your journey is. I needed
- 14:54Speaker 1: the guided to get started, and it was very powerful
- 14:57Speaker 1: shifting for me to have it. UM. I guess kind
- 15:00Speaker 1: of shameless plug, but also just a resource. I lead
- 15:03Speaker 1: daily meditations, I guide them on the show. Brack Um,
- 15:06Speaker 1: So if you resonate with my voice at all, that
- 15:08Speaker 1: might be a nice place to start. Um. But guided
- 15:11Speaker 1: can be really good, Um, Gentle nature sounds can be
- 15:14Speaker 1: really powerful in a meditation. But then you get into
- 15:17Speaker 1: a space where you will crave true silence, So follow
- 15:22Speaker 1: your own lead there. Um. Now, being in my own
- 15:26Speaker 1: silence is like delicious, like it is such, it's such
- 15:33Speaker 1: a gift. It unlocks so much in me to just
- 15:36Speaker 1: kind of hear the sounds of my own breath, hear
- 15:38Speaker 1: the sounds of my heartbeat. Um. But go go gently,
- 15:42Speaker 1: but go in whatever way feels best to you. There's
- 15:44Speaker 1: no wrong way to do it. And again, you can
- 15:46Speaker 1: always change it. So if you start with guided, and
- 15:49Speaker 1: then you decide I'm ready to try a more advanced practice,
- 15:53Speaker 1: go to silence, stretch it practice with time. Um. The
- 15:56Speaker 1: longest session I have ever meditated for straight without interruption
- 16:03Speaker 1: is two hours. I last year did a really deep
- 16:08Speaker 1: meditation for the very first time, UM, and I meditated
- 16:12Speaker 1: actually on a boat in the ocean for six hours straight.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I don't know how often I could do that, but
- 16:20Speaker 1: it it blew the top off of my life when
- 16:23Speaker 1: I did. So I'll be trying that again. All right,
- 16:26Speaker 1: let me look for more questions. Yeah, oh, Danielle, thank
- 16:32Speaker 1: you for that question. I hope I touched on a
- 16:33Speaker 1: little bit. Are you able to meditate throughout the day
- 16:36Speaker 1: without having it be a whole setup or those just prayers? Absolutely,
- 16:40Speaker 1: meditation the setup is like the glitz and glam, it's
- 16:43Speaker 1: the accessories of it. It's whatever feels good for you.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I'm a very adorned person. I like I love design,
- 16:51Speaker 1: I love style, I love color, I love texture. But
- 16:54Speaker 1: also I meditate, as I shared earlier standing in line. Sometimes, Um,
- 17:00Speaker 1: I've stopped and meditated at dinner while other people were talking.
- 17:04Speaker 1: You can do it anywhere, and when you get kind
- 17:06Speaker 1: of into that more confident, comfortable swing with your practice,
- 17:11Speaker 1: you just go into meditation as we did. Rock. Another
- 17:20Speaker 1: question that I have, I have about three minutes left
- 17:23Speaker 1: then I go get my baby from preschool. Um, what
- 17:27Speaker 1: do you say to people who say meditation is too
- 17:29Speaker 1: hard for them? I'd say it does feel really hard
- 17:32Speaker 1: to start. It's very challenging. So many of us have
- 17:36Speaker 1: been taught and raised to just constantly keep conversation going,
- 17:40Speaker 1: like not even be able to be in silence with
- 17:42Speaker 1: each other. Um, and we've been taught, you know, to
- 17:46Speaker 1: really prize our thinking, our own analytical ability. So a
- 17:49Speaker 1: lot of the challenge and meditation it's really just laying
- 17:53Speaker 1: off all the behaviors that we've taken on that no
- 17:57Speaker 1: longer serve us. And that's kind of the gifted meditation.
- 18:01Speaker 1: It's being able to meet yourself in the challenge. UM,
- 18:04Speaker 1: in the restlessness. I meditate every day, but there are
- 18:07Speaker 1: sometimes that I get, depending on what is happening in
- 18:10Speaker 1: my life, I'll get irritated by it. You just get restless.
- 18:14Speaker 1: You're sitting there and then you're just like, can you
- 18:18Speaker 1: to move? I'm gonna do something, you know. Um. And
- 18:21Speaker 1: one of the beauty is about how you practice meditation
- 18:24Speaker 1: and come into this new way of being is that
- 18:28Speaker 1: you get to rub up against that challenge in real
- 18:30Speaker 1: time and instead of judging yourself for it, um, which
- 18:34Speaker 1: could sound like I can never focus, God, I can
- 18:38Speaker 1: never stop thinking meditation isn't for me, you know, rushing
- 18:41Speaker 1: into this judgment, it becomes more for me in my practice. Hmm,
- 18:46Speaker 1: what's going on today? Why is this feeling so challenging?
- 18:50Speaker 1: What me? What need do I need to meet within myself? Um?
- 18:55Speaker 1: What's the thought that I can let go of. So
- 18:57Speaker 1: you start to get really gentle, really curious, and really
- 19:01Speaker 1: inquisitive with yourself and with your process. So if it
- 19:05Speaker 1: feels too hard for you, follow that breadcrumb trail and
- 19:09Speaker 1: just ask yourself questions in real time, like why is
- 19:12Speaker 1: this feeling so hard? But do it with that tone
- 19:15Speaker 1: that I just did not why is this so hard? God?
- 19:18Speaker 1: This is so frustrating. It's bringing in that gentleness for
- 19:22Speaker 1: self is part of the practice, so it's just wow,
- 19:26Speaker 1: maybe I'm really tired today, or gosh, I am under
- 19:29Speaker 1: a lot of stress. Okay, just take a breath, Okay,
- 19:35Speaker 1: you know, and treating yourself in that way that is
- 19:37Speaker 1: also part of what the spiritual practice is moving into
- 19:41Speaker 1: grace with you as you try on these new tools.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Um do you offer teacher instructor trainings? So I work
- 19:48Speaker 1: at shop a Global and we have the leading meditation
- 19:52Speaker 1: program in the country. In my opinion, UM, I went
- 19:55Speaker 1: through that program many years ago. It is best in class.
- 19:58Speaker 1: You get such deep knowledge, specifically of the Vedic lineage
- 20:03Speaker 1: and primorial sound meditation, which deepoc created with Dr David Simon,
- 20:08Speaker 1: and it's a really powerful program. I highly recommend it.
- 20:11Speaker 1: And there's so much support around it. Um, it's just
- 20:14Speaker 1: it feels like poetry. It's so beautiful. So I recommend
- 20:18Speaker 1: that program so funny. It feels I don't I don't
- 20:26Speaker 1: go live like this really, so I gotta say it
- 20:28Speaker 1: feels weird to read questions in front of people if
- 20:31Speaker 1: they're watching you. It is an important to meditate in
- 20:34Speaker 1: a sitting position. Yeah. Ideally you want to be really comfortable. UM.
- 20:39Speaker 1: That is really the leading feeling of it. You want
- 20:42Speaker 1: you want enough comfort in your body to surrender um.
- 20:47Speaker 1: And so that can feel really good sitting down. I
- 20:49Speaker 1: think once you have an active practice, there's other ways
- 20:52Speaker 1: to do it. There's walking meditations, there's meditations with your
- 20:55Speaker 1: eyes open, like if you were in um, if you
- 21:01Speaker 1: were in like a stone labyrinth, which you guys may
- 21:04Speaker 1: have seen, which is like the stones on the ground
- 21:06Speaker 1: in a circular pattern. Um, if you were in a
- 21:09Speaker 1: stone labyrinth, you keep your eyes open. Or you can
- 21:11Speaker 1: do like a low gaze meditation, which is just kind
- 21:14Speaker 1: of barely peeking out in your eyes when you're outside
- 21:17Speaker 1: and just noticing your senses a little bit more. Um.
- 21:22Speaker 1: But to get started, yeah, start sitting, then kind of
- 21:25Speaker 1: play with it. Like I said, I'll I'll close my
- 21:28Speaker 1: eyes in a second anywhere and just start meditating. Um.
- 21:32Speaker 1: How has the practice of meditation evolved for you since
- 21:35Speaker 1: you've started? I think I spoke to this, but it
- 21:38Speaker 1: has definitely It's changed everything. And I think my spiritual
- 21:43Speaker 1: practice became the most serving for me and the most
- 21:47Speaker 1: healing for me that has ever been when I allowed
- 21:50Speaker 1: myself to get creative with it. I used to be
- 21:52Speaker 1: very structured and I'd be like, Okay, meditate, then I'm
- 21:55Speaker 1: gonna do yoga. Then I'm gonna do this, then I'm
- 21:57Speaker 1: gonna journal. Um, And now I just create a can
- 22:00Speaker 1: tainer for myself. So I'll say, you know what, I
- 22:02Speaker 1: have about an hour to self care. That's my container.
- 22:06Speaker 1: What I do with that hour is my business. And
- 22:09Speaker 1: I just follow the lead of my soul and my
- 22:11Speaker 1: body and need its needs within that hour. So you
- 22:15Speaker 1: kind of get to be the deeper you go. You
- 22:18Speaker 1: have um more access to your freedom and to your creativity.
- 22:26Speaker 1: You see. Um, I try to meditate to a guided
- 22:28Speaker 1: meditation every morning, but I can't keep trying and just
- 22:32Speaker 1: ask yourself questions when it feels hard, what's coming up?
- 22:35Speaker 1: Why can't you you know, what is it? What do
- 22:38Speaker 1: you feel your sacrificing or what may you be um,
- 22:42Speaker 1: perhaps avoiding in that moment without judgment something. So, uh,
- 22:53Speaker 1: it's okay, I'm gonna read that because I think that's
- 22:55Speaker 1: really powerful and relatable for so many of us. Shoot,
- 22:58Speaker 1: I don't have enough time. How do I go to school?
- 23:01Speaker 1: I feel like I've been praying for something since March,
- 23:05Speaker 1: but I haven't found the answers. I know the answers
- 23:08Speaker 1: and stillness, but I'm still not seeing or hearing God's sign.
- 23:11Speaker 1: How do I get still enough? What a beautiful question,
- 23:14Speaker 1: and I think we all have had times that we
- 23:17Speaker 1: can relate to that. Are you ready get more still?
- 23:27Speaker 1: Get more quiet? You know? Right now, really try to
- 23:32Speaker 1: disconnect from into any intellectualizing or any control. When you're
- 23:37Speaker 1: in the quiet, you're there for as long as needed.
- 23:39Speaker 1: There is no timetable on when God can, will, and
- 23:42Speaker 1: should speak to you, and so just continue to honor
- 23:45Speaker 1: yourself by speaking the silence, but speak it without expert
- 23:49Speaker 1: expectation so that God can surprise you with the answer. Um,
- 23:54Speaker 1: keep going, keep leaning into that, keep leaning into that silence,
- 23:58Speaker 1: into that stillness, and it will click. Yes, let me
- 24:05Speaker 1: try to scroll through the things. How do I how
- 24:12Speaker 1: do I start practicing on a daily basis? Start practicing
- 24:16Speaker 1: on a daily basis? Do it every day, especially on
- 24:21Speaker 1: the days that you don't want to mm hmm. Do
- 24:29Speaker 1: you have any tips for dealing with uncomfortable thoughts or
- 24:32Speaker 1: feelings while meditating? Yeah, allow allow yourself to not have
- 24:36Speaker 1: to find a solution in the moment that that thought
- 24:39Speaker 1: coeps in. So, especially if you have a pressing need
- 24:42Speaker 1: right now, or if there's like a piece of your
- 24:44Speaker 1: spiritual curriculum you're really working with, just give yourself grace
- 24:48Speaker 1: and give yourself the opportunity to just notice that you're
- 24:51Speaker 1: having that thought, but not have to stay committed to
- 24:55Speaker 1: the thought, not have to follow the thought down another trail,
- 24:59Speaker 1: and I'd have to investigate the thought and not have
- 25:02Speaker 1: to find a solution for the thought or the circumstance. Um,
- 25:06Speaker 1: you can't just notice it, and you can also in
- 25:08Speaker 1: that moment say like, gosh, this is really stressful for me,
- 25:13Speaker 1: this is really difficult for me to think about this,
- 25:16Speaker 1: and then maybe even saying a word that feels nurturing
- 25:18Speaker 1: for you. Um, when I use for myself is just grace, Grace, grace, grace, grace, grace.
- 25:25Speaker 1: It really brings me into the place of being a
- 25:27Speaker 1: deeper acceptance of yourself and of your life. Nice. When
- 25:32Speaker 1: I meditate, I see a blue ball in my third
- 25:35Speaker 1: eye area. When I focus on it, I go into
- 25:37Speaker 1: a swirl or spiral feeling. Any comments on what it
- 25:40Speaker 1: is or if you've experienced that, Oh yes, my friend,
- 25:43Speaker 1: I experienced that. I say, have fun with it. Keep
- 25:47Speaker 1: leaning into it, keep meditating and focusing on that color
- 25:50Speaker 1: that's revealing itself to you and your third eye chekra
- 25:53Speaker 1: right there, um, and just see where it takes you,
- 25:56Speaker 1: and don't judge it. You don't have to understand it,
- 25:58Speaker 1: follow it. It will leads yourself. We're good. How does
- 26:05Speaker 1: someone tune into that deep self? When I try, I
- 26:07Speaker 1: tend to get emotional. That's why you do it, get emotional.
- 26:12Speaker 1: There's nothing wrong with experiencing your emotions. And what I'm
- 26:16Speaker 1: getting from reading that is that your emotions would really
- 26:19Speaker 1: like to be deeply felt by you, and they deserve to.
- 26:23Speaker 1: And so let yourself feel what you're feeling in real
- 26:26Speaker 1: time and then see where that leads you. How many
- 26:30Speaker 1: times do you meditate a day? It is recommended to
- 26:33Speaker 1: do with twice the day morning and evening practice. Um
- 26:37Speaker 1: right now, I've been really more so leaning into my
- 26:39Speaker 1: evening practice, just the way my current life flow is. Danielle,
- 26:44Speaker 1: I love this comment that you shared. Dang, I really
- 26:47Speaker 1: gotta go. I'd be feeling uh pause, I'd be feeling
- 26:52Speaker 1: restless a lot in living, not just meditating. Relatable. My
- 26:56Speaker 1: friends followed that restless feeling. We have to meet our
- 27:01Speaker 1: feelings and we have to let ourselves feel them before
- 27:04Speaker 1: we can actually release them. So if the thought is
- 27:07Speaker 1: how do I get rid of this feeling, You're going
- 27:10Speaker 1: to be finding that pattern repeat until you stop and
- 27:14Speaker 1: you investigate the feeling and you let yourself feel it
- 27:17Speaker 1: and see what it wants you to know or what
- 27:19Speaker 1: it wants you to release. Alright, So that was a
- 27:23Speaker 1: little Q and A from me, and I'm gonna be
- 27:27Speaker 1: doing that once a week for the most part on
- 27:29Speaker 1: my Instagram as often as I can. Uh. And we'll
