- 0:00Most people have very little idea about how to utilize
- 0:03willpower effectively because they don't fully understand what
- 0:07willpower actually is and how it needs to be focused and
- 0:11concentrated. Essentially, willpower is the
- 0:15function that concentrates the signal while reducing the noise
- 0:20in a transmission of energy. It is like the difference
- 0:23between a laser beam and a light bulb.
- 0:27Using this image, we find that most people fail to fully focus
- 0:31the energy they are putting out and thus it is diffused and the
- 0:35energy is dispersed without a strong functional effect.
- 0:40When they put their full attention and concentrated force
- 0:43into the will, it becomes like the laser beam, capable of
- 0:48accomplishing things that the normal light bulb cannot do.
- 0:52Learning how to concentrate in this way involves regular
- 0:55practice, an actual exercise of will, until it becomes a
- 1:01palpable force capable of achieving its aim, the mother
- 1:06notes quote. But one doesn't know how to will
- 1:10it. In fact, 1 doesn't even want to.
- 1:14These are valiaities. Well, it is like this.
- 1:17It would be good if it were like that.
- 1:20Yes, it would be better if it were like that.
- 1:23Yes, it would be preferable if it were like that.
- 1:27But this is not to will. And always there at the back,
- 1:32hidden somewhere in a corner of the brain is something which is
- 1:36looking on and saying oh, why should I want that?
- 1:40After all, one can as well want the opposite and to try, you
- 1:44see, not like that, just wait. But one can always find 1000
- 1:50excuses to do the opposite. And, ah, just a tiny little
- 1:56wavering is enough. The thing swoops down and there
- 2:00it is. But if one wills, if one really
- 2:04knows that this is the thing and truly wants this, and if one is
- 2:10oneself entirely concentrated in the will, I say that there is
- 2:15nothing in the world that can prevent one from doing it, from
- 2:19doing it, or being obliged to do it.
- 2:21It depends on what it is one wants.
- 2:25Yes, one wants like this. Gestures one wants.
- 2:31Yes. Yes, it would be better if it
- 2:32were like that. Yes, it would be finer, also
- 2:37more elegant. But after all, 1 is a weak
- 2:41creature, isn't that so? And then one can always put the
- 2:45blame upon something else. It is the influence coming from
- 2:49outside. It is all kinds of
- 2:52circumstances. The breath has passed.
- 2:55You see, you don't know something.
- 2:59A moment of unconsciousness. Oh, I was not conscious.
- 3:04You are not conscious because you do not accept.
- 3:08And all this because one doesn't know how to will.
