- 5:15Speaker 3: They think she will be offered probation for the DUI
- 5:18Speaker 3: to avoid jail time if she pleads guilty to a
- 5:20Speaker 3: reckless driving charge because she doesn't have a prior to UI,
- 5:24Speaker 3: which I'm shocked actually, for some reason in my head,
- 5:26Speaker 3: I thought she had a DUI before, but she didn't.
- 5:29Speaker 3: There was also no crash or injury in her arrest,
- 5:32Speaker 3: and she had a low alcohol level, so.
- 5:35Speaker 2: That's probably going to be what they do.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Official say, a resolution is common, especially when the defendant

- 5:58Speaker 9: The Alabama Show on demand, Amazing free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Good Morning, Erica, what's your issue for Ask Alabama?
- 6:06Speaker 7: I gave my boyfriend an ultimatum to propose.
- 6:10Speaker 3: That's why we do Ask Alabama. If you ever had
- 6:12Speaker 3: an issue. We do our best to help.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Call to show three three, five by one Obama, what's
- 6:17Speaker 2: going on? Okay?
- 6:18Speaker 7: So I've been with my boyfriend for over six years
- 6:22Speaker 7: at this point, after dating for about four years, I
- 6:26Speaker 7: asked him if we were ever going to get married, right,
- 6:31Speaker 7: and he gave me some like generic yeah, of course
- 6:35Speaker 7: we are, and then like nothing else, and then nothing happened.
- 6:40Speaker 7: So I gave him an ultimatum. I said he had
- 6:44Speaker 7: one year to propose, okay, and if not, I'm going
- 6:48Speaker 7: to leave.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Okay, that's that. And then the deadline passed.
- 6:53Speaker 7: But then I found a receipt where he bought a
- 6:56Speaker 7: rain okay, and so I said something to him about it,
- 7:00Speaker 7: and he said that he did have a plan to
- 7:02Speaker 7: do it, but then on that day that he wanted
- 7:05Speaker 7: to do it, it wasn't special anymore because I had
- 7:08Speaker 7: put so much pressure on.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Him about it. Yeah.
- 7:11Speaker 7: So then we went out to dinner a few weeks
- 7:14Speaker 7: after that, and I could see the ring box in
- 7:18Speaker 7: his pocket.
- 7:18Speaker 10: Okay, so you could see it in his pocket, So
- 7:21Speaker 10: he was that was going to be the proposal.
- 7:24Speaker 11: Yeah, I'm just.
- 7:24Speaker 7: Like sitting there the whole time, you know, And then
- 7:26Speaker 7: like dessert came and everything and you know, nothing, And
- 7:32Speaker 7: so I asked him about it and he said that,
- 7:36Speaker 7: you know, he just feels forced to do it and
- 7:38Speaker 7: he wants to do it on his own time. And
- 7:41Speaker 7: now I'm crushed and I feel.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Like I maybe ruined the whole relationship. I don't wait.
- 7:46Speaker 2: So you're saying went out to dinner, he did not.
- 7:50Speaker 10: He was going to propose to you that night, but
- 7:51Speaker 10: something happened and he just said he couldn't do it
- 7:54Speaker 10: because he could.
- 7:56Speaker 7: He just keeps he just keeps saying that like he
- 7:59Speaker 7: feels forced to do it. It's like he's going to
- 8:01Speaker 7: do it and then like he feels like it's forced.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Has been together six years? Yeah, call the show. Have
- 8:08Speaker 2: you ever been through this?
- 8:09Speaker 10: Have you ever given somebody an ultimatum to propose?
- 8:12Speaker 2: And did that work out? Eight three three five oh
- 8:14Speaker 2: one BAMA is the number? That's eight three three five
- 8:17Speaker 2: oh one two two sixty.
- 8:19Speaker 1: We're listening to the Alamma Show on demand.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Eight three three five I one Bama is the number. Andrew,
- 8:24Speaker 2: good morning.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Has anybody ever given you an ultimatum to get married?
- 8:28Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 8:28Speaker 2: What happened?
- 8:29Speaker 6: Uh? We we were dating right out a year and
- 8:34Speaker 6: she was like, hey, uh, if we're not going to
- 8:37Speaker 6: move this further, you know, I don't want to meet
- 8:39Speaker 6: with you anymore. So we got engaged and we're engaged
- 8:43Speaker 6: for a year, and she was like, well, I think
- 8:46Speaker 6: we need to hurry up and just tie the knaw.
- 8:48Speaker 6: And that relationship just fell through like a bag in
- 8:51Speaker 6: the wind.
- 8:52Speaker 3: How long did you date your wife before you propose
- 8:54Speaker 3: to her?
- 8:55Speaker 5: Oh?
- 8:55Speaker 6: Wow, we dated for right over right over a year.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Okay, so you're ready to marry. But she didn't put
- 9:03Speaker 3: She didn't give you an ultimatum.
- 9:05Speaker 2: That's the thing. It was your decision, that's what she did.
- 9:08Speaker 12: It was yeah, and it's all about the timing because
- 9:12Speaker 12: you don't want to rush into something nowadays. You better
- 9:14Speaker 12: live with them, know everything about them before you put
- 9:17Speaker 12: a ring on it.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Absolutely, Andrew, thank you for calling.
- 9:21Speaker 12: Yes, ma'am. You can never be too safe in this world.

- 9:31Speaker 3: to get a dress fitting, and I was looking at
- 9:32Speaker 3: all their wedding dresses and now this.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Makes me want to find somebody to marry. To make
- 9:37Speaker 2: schoes between Mary and you were not. It's so awesome.

- 9:48Speaker 8: I did want to speak on that subject that I
- 9:51Speaker 8: was just hearing about about the young lady. Okay, and
- 9:54Speaker 8: in a relationship for six years, I stay breakup with
- 9:57Speaker 8: him and move on because after six years, Kim wanting
- 10:01Speaker 8: to do whatever he wants to do. And then who's saying, oh,
- 10:04Speaker 8: don't pressure me. You know I'm saying, I just feel

- 16:16Speaker 3: Because I've got dogs, I've got cats, I'm not bringing
- 16:19Speaker 3: this in my house.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Go take him back and say, will you hold this
- 16:22Speaker 2: until the day of the event. That's what I said.
- 16:24Speaker 3: I said, do you want to keep it till the
- 16:26Speaker 3: day of the event and I'll come get it.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Then he goes no, because then if it sells, you
- 16:29Speaker 2: can't carry it. So he's given me this doll for
- 16:32Speaker 2: a week, and I'm freaking out. You need to put
- 16:34Speaker 2: that in a museum or a bacon. You don't need
- 16:38Speaker 2: to hold onto it. That is the coolest clutch ever.
- 16:40Speaker 2: We'll post a picture of it at the Alabama show.
- 16:43Speaker 2: This guy has too much faith in you, I'm gonna
- 16:45Speaker 2: be honest. He does. He obviously doesn't listen to the
- 16:47Speaker 2: show very often. I told my grandma, me and ma
- 16:50Speaker 2: yesterday about it.
- 16:50Speaker 3: She goes, don't you dare take that in your house
- 16:52Speaker 3: and let your dogs get a hold of it.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I said, I know, I'm gonna have to put it.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to put it in my closet.
- 16:58Speaker 3: I am in my hand right now holding a four
- 17:00Speaker 3: hundred doller visage perse.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Don't you dare break it? Because if you break it,
- 17:04Speaker 2: you buy it. Be gentle with it. It's so cool though.
- 17:09Speaker 3: So anyway, have you ever accidentally broken something at the
- 17:12Speaker 3: store and had to pay for it? Because if so,
- 17:14Speaker 3: we're paying for this. Eight three thirty five and BAMA
- 17:17Speaker 3: is the number. That's eight three three five oh one
- 17:20Speaker 3: two two six two.
- 17:22Speaker 1: You were listening to the Alabama Show on demand?
- 17:25Speaker 3: Eight three three five o one and BAMA is the
- 17:27Speaker 3: number to call the show?
- 17:29Speaker 2: Uh, Dave, good morning. Have you ever broken something at
- 17:32Speaker 2: the store and how to buy it?
- 17:34Speaker 3: No?
- 17:34Speaker 1: But I was going to ask, don't you have a
- 17:36Speaker 1: secure s thought like an offense at the station?
- 17:39Speaker 2: Well, I'm afraid to leave it at the station because.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Producer Blake has already been trying to put his grubby
- 17:44Speaker 3: little hands all over this purse.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I think I have a safe at my house. I
- 17:48Speaker 2: think I'm gonna put it in this safe.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Well, didn't that sound like a good idea? No?
- 17:52Speaker 2: And producer Blake's over here with his grubby hands. He
- 17:55Speaker 2: keeps trying to grab the purse. This little guy. I
- 17:57Speaker 2: do not have grubby hands. I just want to touch.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Well, please don't because I'm afraid I'm gonna break this
- 18:02Speaker 3: four hundred dollars perse, Dave, Thank you for calling.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Oh, good bye bye.
- 18:07Speaker 9: You were listening to the Alabama Show on Demand eight
- 18:10Speaker 9: three thirty five.
- 18:11Speaker 3: I one Bama is the number to call the show.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Have you ever accidentally broke something at the store and
- 18:16Speaker 3: had to buy it?
- 18:17Speaker 2: Good morning? Who's this Stephanie?
- 18:20Speaker 3: Have you ever accidentally broken something at a store and
- 18:22Speaker 3: then had to buy it?
- 18:23Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 18:24Speaker 6: I did that.
- 18:24Speaker 12: My mom had to pay for it.
- 18:26Speaker 2: What'd you break a big vase? I didn't mean to.
- 18:29Speaker 8: My brother and I were playing a.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Vase, Yeah, a mace. How old were you like seven?
- 18:35Speaker 2: And did your mom ground you after she bought the
- 18:38Speaker 2: vase when you and your brother were throwing it around
- 18:41Speaker 2: in the store?
- 18:41Speaker 1: Where were you.
- 18:43Speaker 3: So?
- 18:43Speaker 12: I remember back in the day it was like amar
- 18:46Speaker 12: or something like that.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Okay, so it was probably less than twenty dollars.
- 18:50Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, probably all.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Right, thanks for calling, Stephanie.
- 18:54Speaker 6: I love you guys.
- 18:56Speaker 9: The Alabama Show on demand free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 19:00Speaker 3: We have a bird of Prey coming out in the
- 19:04Speaker 3: studio right now, and I'm so excited for this for
- 19:09Speaker 3: the bird lady and me. By the way, thank you
- 19:12Speaker 3: for listening to the Alabama Show. I'm Alabama with Producer Blake.
- 19:15Speaker 3: We have Chris from the Alabama Wildlife Center.
- 19:19Speaker 2: I love that we have our this is so.
- 19:22Speaker 3: This is a Mississippi kite. It is correct, and I
- 19:26Speaker 3: love that we have him on the microphone. Monty is
- 19:29Speaker 3: his name, Little Monty.
- 19:30Speaker 5: He's found in Manavallo. So we just needed money for sure.
- 19:34Speaker 3: So I Producer Blake the panic on his face right
- 19:39Speaker 3: now sitting next to uh.
- 19:42Speaker 2: And this is a small little bird too, but the
- 19:45Speaker 2: bea is massive. The little claw on the beach that.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Chris so explained if you're listening to the show, because
- 19:55Speaker 3: I didn't know what a Mississippi kite was until I
- 19:58Speaker 3: came to visit the Alabama Wildlife They kind of look
- 20:00Speaker 3: like a small hawk. What is the Mississippi kite?
- 20:03Speaker 5: Yeah, so there's its own species of bird of prey.
- 20:06Speaker 5: And so we have two species of kites in Alabama.
- 20:09Speaker 5: You've got the Mississippi and the swallowtail kite. Okay, now,
- 20:12Speaker 5: these guys are going to go after insects, so they're
- 20:15Speaker 5: true insectivores and they're gonna they're going to catch these
- 20:18Speaker 5: insects mid flight with their talent and then eat it
- 20:22Speaker 5: while they're kind of gliding around. Yeah, super cool.
- 20:25Speaker 2: So they keep they keep the bugs out of your yard.
- 20:27Speaker 2: They're a good thing to have.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Oh, they are eating so many bugs. And then it's
- 20:30Speaker 5: what's really cool is they're also working with farmers. Yeah,
- 20:33Speaker 5: there's some farmers that say, as soon as they see
- 20:35Speaker 5: a green tractor, these Mississippi kites are all in their fields.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Oh that's cool.
- 20:40Speaker 3: So the Alabama Wildblife Center, you guys will rehab like
- 20:45Speaker 3: birds of prey.
- 20:45Speaker 2: You get hawks, you get owls.
- 20:47Speaker 3: And then so like Monty, because he's trained and you've
- 20:50Speaker 3: got them glove trained, he will stay at the Alabama
- 20:53Speaker 3: Wildlife Center forever.
- 20:54Speaker 5: Yeah. Unfortunately, so whenever he was found as a baby,
- 20:58Speaker 5: he was falling out of his nest. He was on
- 20:59Speaker 5: the grid. And once you're on the grounds with no
- 21:02Speaker 5: feathers as a bird, you are susceptible to bugs and
- 21:06Speaker 5: other predators, and so he had some damage in his
- 21:09Speaker 5: soft tissue where the wing feathers would be on his wing,
- 21:13Speaker 5: and then unfortunately they never grew in, so he can't fly,
- 21:16Speaker 5: and so he is a permanent resident at the Wildlife Center.
- 21:19Speaker 3: But you guys will use the birds that you can't
- 21:21Speaker 3: release as education birds. So this is cool because I
- 21:24Speaker 3: went to the Alabama Wildlife Center yesterday. Producer Blake and
- 21:27Speaker 3: you guys had like a school, like an elementary school classroom,
- 21:31Speaker 3: and so they'll teach about wildlife conservation and the birds
- 21:35Speaker 3: and everything.
- 21:36Speaker 5: Yeah, so we we do all kinds of programs, and
- 21:39Speaker 5: we'll say five hundred a year of just free programs
- 21:43Speaker 5: for underserved communities or paid programs for anyone that wants
- 21:46Speaker 5: to get a little bits of a private tour. But
- 21:48Speaker 5: we want to bring these birds up as close as possible.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Well I can't. We can't touch it, can we?
- 21:56Speaker 5: You can touch us a little talent.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I wish we.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Had some little bus for Producer Blake to fade it.
- 22:02Speaker 2: There was a class I took one time and then
- 22:03Speaker 2: had an owl in there and a guy was just
- 22:05Speaker 2: sitting holding and feeding it. Rats from his hands. We
- 22:08Speaker 2: need to get you to feed the owl.
- 22:10Speaker 5: Just put some mealworms in your pocket.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Well, luckily I forgot those at home today, so I
- 22:15Speaker 2: think I'm good it's brought some. But this is all
- 22:18Speaker 2: about because I want to talk about the gala.
- 22:20Speaker 3: There is a for the Birds gala that's happening May
- 22:22Speaker 3: eight at the Club and that's a big fundraiser for
- 22:25Speaker 3: you guys.
- 22:26Speaker 5: Yes, and so May eighth at the Club is our
- 22:29Speaker 5: annual fundraising dinner. It's really cool because we have all
- 22:33Speaker 5: of our educational ambassadors there. We will have there's three
- 22:37Speaker 5: awards that we're going to present to people that have
- 22:39Speaker 5: gone above and beyond volunteer at the Wilef Center and
- 22:42Speaker 5: just leaving a legacy in terms of helping injured animals.
- 22:45Speaker 5: We also have past American Idol participant Walker Burrows. Yes,
- 22:51Speaker 5: he's going to be performing live. You will be there.
- 22:54Speaker 5: It's going to be Yeah. It's going to be such
- 22:56Speaker 5: a fun events and a way to celebrate the work
- 23:00Speaker 5: that we do and then also raise money to help
- 23:03Speaker 5: care for these injured birds.
- 23:05Speaker 3: And the birds will be there and people can see
- 23:07Speaker 3: will Monty be there, will this specific bird be there?
- 23:09Speaker 5: Oh Anty will be there?
- 23:11Speaker 3: Okay, and it is you Like, all the money does
- 23:14Speaker 3: go to help. Because I volunteered in the clinic one day,
- 23:17Speaker 3: I didn't realize. You guys go through because you have
- 23:18Speaker 3: to sanitize everything, so.
- 23:20Speaker 2: You go through so much bleach.
- 23:22Speaker 3: You got to feed the birds, give them the worms,
- 23:24Speaker 3: get the mice, and do all the things because the
- 23:26Speaker 3: goal is to release birds back.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Into the wild.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Like there was a hawk when I was there, Producer
- 23:31Speaker 3: Blake that had a bullet in its wing, which also,
- 23:34Speaker 3: don't do that because that's a federal offense.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Please don't shoot birds.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Shoot birds.
- 23:38Speaker 3: So yeah, all the money that you spend to get
- 23:41Speaker 3: your tickets all go to a really great cause and
- 23:43Speaker 3: you can get it. What's the Alabama Wildlife Center's.
- 23:46Speaker 5: Website Alabama Wildlifecenter dot org.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Perfect may get your tickets. There's still tickets available and
- 23:52Speaker 2: we will see you there.
- 23:53Speaker 9: If you were listening to the Alabama Show, the following
- 23:56Speaker 9: program is on demand.
- 23:58Speaker 2: You know what the best part about what's the best
- 24:01Speaker 2: part about Friday? We don't have to wake up it
- 24:03Speaker 2: for him tomorrow. Hey, we're done, enjoy the rest of
- 24:08Speaker 2: the day. Keep listening.
- 24:09Speaker 3: There's more chances twenty thousand dollars throughout the day and
- 24:12Speaker 3: we'll see you Monday morning, have a good weekend.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Thanks for listening to The Alabama Show on demand.
