- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: The two men set out north to find the mander witch.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: So the journey is 50 miles north from here and the area between this clearing and the domain of the manderwitch is mostly thick woods and currently it is in full summer bloom here and 50 miles is a long way to go on foot but you know the area well enough to know your options you can.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you have a you have your car and you know the dirt roads that lead up north.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, so the the mander which is house is 50 miles away.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: But you all have I'm going to say you both have heard stories of the mander which just like he heard stories of rabbit rabbit.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: So you know that she has there's a house out in the woods right along the river.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: is where the mander which up north is said to live.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you've never been there, but the stories can you can kind of place where she would be.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, Adelaide is looking at both of you.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not quite sure if I can leave town, though.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: I could try.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_02]: You will feel any different, leaving the fourth clear in her.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: Feel fine, but I started to feel more empty, if that makes sense.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: How about it might just be best if I stay here.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we could meet you back at the fort.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: If anything, maybe, I don't know if you could find some really cool sticks.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: We can do three Musketeers when we get back.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's okay.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's okay.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: She looks a little hesitant, she looks down, and you see her rushes forward to give you hug, actually.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry that we grew apart, Adelaida.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: We should, we could have spent more time being dumb kids.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: I just cherish the time we have now.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: I know it won't be long, but I'll take it with me.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: And thank you for being my friend.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: He squeezes back.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: And as you let's go, she looks over at W. Will, her arms go out toward you.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_03]: You see, will just kind of be sitting in the passenger side out right there, this trucking.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_03]: He's done whatever he could with torn shirts of kind of wrap up.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_03]: Let's make shift bandages, renders, wrists.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_03]: His head is just kind of bobbing up and down.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_03]: He's had a lot of whiskey.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_03]: Ah, the lead.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, get, we'll get you out of this mess we made a promise.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_03]: I made a promise.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: As she gets closer to the car, you see like her body starting to kind of phase a little bit.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: As she leaves the forest, ash, and she's less coporial now, but she can still walk forward and you see her place her hand on your face, W, and it's there, but it's not there
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: parts of her body not there as well, she says, thank you again for protecting me.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_03]: You uh, lifts his face up and you can see tears streaming down as cheeks and I'm sorry,
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: I know will, I know, and to be honest, I'm scared, too.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: But I know that this is what must be done.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_03]: We'll make it, we'll make it right.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_03]: Make it right for you, Adelaide.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: And she goes to wipe your tears away.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: Don't cry for me, okay?
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: Be strong.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_03]: I just kind of look over towards, see, you know, we best get going.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_02]: He'll click his tongue and Prince will hop into the back.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: Adelaide fades back into the forest and you can see her body starts to fill in once again.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: And she watches you guys drive off.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: And you see her become smaller and smaller as you get farther away.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see you're back at the fort.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_03]: I'm I'm sorry, you guys.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_03]: I always I owe you an apology.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_03]: What was going through my head back there?
- 5:36[SPEAKER_03]: Thinking I could kill the devil.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: You got balls, man.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: I hesitated, so, but you don't need to apologize for trying to protect us and protect yourself.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: All we got to do now is just settle our debt and square things away for Adelaide.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go talk to that damn river.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: as you guys continue to drive.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's 50 miles up north.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how fast cars are back then.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: But you guys are trying, you know, chugging along.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: It starts to turn into, like the day starts to get lower.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: The sun starts to lower, and it turns into like the colors of yellow and pinks.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: We're still light out, but you know, as it's starting to set in the next few hours.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: As you're driving, you do see,
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: There is like a skinny fellow who is off on the side of the road.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: He has a bat pack and he's wearing a hat.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: And you see him kind of waving as your cars get in closer to him.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's off on the side of the road.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: He's waving at you.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_03]: Don't you stop now, see?
- 6:55[SPEAKER_03]: We can't pick it up.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_03]: No, hey, checkers.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: At least give him some food.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: Hang on, I got some.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_02]: He's gonna.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: He's gonna like drive just past the slowdown.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: He'll just give me a sick.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'll give him some food.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_02]: And he'll hop out.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, I got an emergency with my friend here.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: He's a perky-al-bad.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: I can't really take you right now, but I can give you some food.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: I got, oh, oh, thanks, partner.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: You see, kind of rugged looks kind of looks over a shoulder.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, are you heading up north?
- 7:30[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I'm taking my friend up north.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's he's like in.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's hurt pretty bad.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: I really Just I just need just quick ride.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: I really appreciate it.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just I'm there.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going there to pick up a shipment for Langley man up to Langley.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: So You know That's it so you're going to Langley Yeah, the Town's crawling with company men right now and they're getting started on this dam so I figure I've been walking for a while.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm mighty tired if I can just get a ride up north.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: You could drop me off wherever you want
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: What's your name, son?
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, Jesse.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_02]: Jesse.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: Zeke.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: Nice to meet you, Zeke.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: One sec, let me go let my friend know and see what's going on.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_02]: We also got a dog in the back, so I got a pair.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: So of course, here he gives him a like a green, like a neutral green kind of bar, like, kind of um, yeah.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: Probably doesn't taste good, but has the nutrients.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_02]: He'll walk back over W. This kid's head is a lane.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: He says he's picking up a shipment for Langley, or dropping off a shipment, and he's working with them.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_03]: You know, if we pick him up, he's gonna get mixed up in all this devil's shit with us.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_03]: He don't got, he's not doing him, no favors.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_02]: You got any other ideas other than talking to a witch, we can at least have a practical way of being like, hey, I gave you a ride into town, because you do me a favor and perhaps let me in at night to go do something I need to do, and look the other way.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_02]: We got to use any cards we can get, man.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna look in the rear view mirror, back at Jesse, stand in there.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_03]: This he looks threatening at all.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_01]: No, he looks to be about 30 years old, kind of, rugged, but looks more nervous than intimidating.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: Right, see?
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: Right, see?
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: People's at a harmonica.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's throwing it.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_03]: But if you get him kills, that's on you.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_02]: Fine.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: Don't worry.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: Prints will keep him in check.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: In that ride boy, Zika walked back out.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: All right, uh, Jesse was right.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yes, or it is.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: Hello.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_02]: My associate in the vehicle.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: His name is William.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: He can call him W. And my dog is Prince.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to enter the back of the car.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to put your bag down.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to not make eye contact with Prince until he smells you.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: because if you make eye contact with him before he gets to know you, you ain't gonna lack what happens.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm gonna say this once, no funny business, or he will bite you in the most painful place he can bite you.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I understand.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just grateful for the red.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'll do whatever.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no problem.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_02]: We'll take you up there and if I happen to need a favor while I'm up there, you mind honoring that.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah sure, yeah, of course.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_02]: Perfect.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'll open the back door and do the awkward thing of like letting him go into a dog, then do his dog space and Prince will eventually sniff him and be cool with him.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_02]: Do I be you?
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: This is Jesse.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: Grunts and nods.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: Nice to meet you, sir.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: And he'll peer off and continue the drive and I guess during the drive.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, so Jesse, what got you roped up working with Langley?
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just a moonshiner, and it's a shipment of shine for them.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: Mayn't got a drink, I guess, on the top.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's a simple, yeah.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: You ever sampled a product?
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, it kind of tastes like horse piss, you know?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's not, it's not for me.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_03]: So, that may be in the judge or that, and I'll just kind of turn around and reach back to the bloody wrist.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have it, I'm picking up the shipment, John.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_03]: He's picking it up.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: Good idea.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that'll be part of the deal back, maybe I can figure it getting a sample or something.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll figure that out once we get there.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: So, Tal's crawling with men, man, got a drink.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: I ain't that the truth.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I think this is equal focus on the drive and try to think, like, you know, as we're getting closer, keeping an eye on where the river is and looking for houses along the river side.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: And Jesse is like trying to make conversation with you as you're driving.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: So, what are you felt fell as doing, going up north?
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Not much people are hanging out and Langley now that LC and NC are kind of taking it over.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just going to look over at Zeke.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_03]: We are.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_03]: This is your idea.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: We are just doing a favor for a friend south here.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: You see, I work with animal control.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: As you can see from all the stuff back there.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: Just taking care of something for a friend to colleague on the house.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: You don't do rabbit stuff.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: Zeke gives a hard look at that, don't be good at that one.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: Jesse's like, okay, okay, well, I appreciate the ride.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: You guys get closer to town.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: You could drop me off here.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: You pull up there's like, yeah, there's like, there's a male, like a large male office next to the train station.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: I've got to fill out some forms here.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_01]: Again, appreciate the ride.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm fine, me and you in a time.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we'll see you, Kale.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: You need to help with the directions you know where you're going?
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: My friend, they said that they leave somewhere near some of the houses, but along the river, do you know the easiest way to those properties?
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, the river, though, has been wild the past few weeks, so I'd just be careful.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's been like tipping boats, making it hard for the workers to get started.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: but it has been quiet the last couple days.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, so what you'll do is, you go along this back road here, and he starts to give you all the directions and we're in a turn.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's where a lot of the houses, there is rumors of someone who could talk to the river.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's just...
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: Most folk tales, yeah.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: Folk tales, I believe.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: So people start talking about that.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, I think it's rumor.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, tell me about these rumors.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's that there's a witch near the river who can't... She could talk to the river.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's just folktale, sir.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: What else do you want to know?
- 14:23[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_03]: her name, what does she look like, what does she, what does she want?
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I don't know, sir.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we might as well get going and he'll slowly pull the way back into the car.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Jess.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of bloody.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: Dory is that.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Jessy.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: We'll find you later.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: See if you can steal a little lick of that.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to shine for us.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll find you later in town.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: Good luck on your, your travels.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: Nods you get a little salute, pulls out his harmonica.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: Tars to play it as he walks in.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: To the station.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: He any good at that harmonica?
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: Sounds pretty good.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: All right, all right.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: Just something I want to remember.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: You see?
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you see, you don't want them involved.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_02]: Prime for questions, you might not know.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: Here's the one that brought it up.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: That is true.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: All right, you got me there.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: We don't want to spook him before we use leverage for him, so, and yeah, we'll trepidationously drive down the dirt paths towards the pauses along the river.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: after traveling, it takes about another hour as you're following along and you finally reach like the widest part of the river and the woods kind of open up right up to the the water's edge and sitting on the bank is a small house with a long dock that stretches out into the water.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_02]: and he'll go around the back side and he'll look at Prince and be like, all right, you stay in the car, all right?
- 16:24[SPEAKER_02]: You keep an eye on for me, all right?
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: You're baku seeing nothing?
- 16:27[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_02]: And he knows he's not really completely listening, but knows that if he whistled for, he'd be whistled for him, he'd come, but like, yeah, Prince knows to stay in the car.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: And he'll help W out of the car.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: Well, if it's a witchhouse near here, that sure shit looks like one.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_03]: One second, I'm gonna go and reach out to the backseat for my Rucksack, painfully pull it out, open it up, pull out a little jar, that's filled with black, and the last is like liquid, and then he's gonna grab his shovel, and just kind of open up that jar, that actually has his shovel with it, so I'll see if you mind, sure, you open the jar up, and it smells like oil, like gasoline almost, and he's just gonna,
- 17:13[SPEAKER_03]: port all over the end of the shovel had, like the metal part.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: Alright, I'm ready.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_02]: Well since we're being all superstitious, I suppose.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_02]: And Zika will open up the glove compartment to his car and he'll grab.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: this little like little burlap pouch with some symbols on it that he got from his mama that he's had for good luck and protection.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: He kind of tucks it into his shirt.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_02]: The my bag of the hunt that he has.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's kind of leaving that in there.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_02]: He looks over in his compartment.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: He sees that there's another little like bag.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_02]: But he wrote, there's a little like note on it that says, don't use
- 18:00[SPEAKER_02]: I hope I don't need that, but I just want to go with one, and he shuts the glove compartment and leaves.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, we'll just quietly go towards the house, you know, he's got his little sling with his rifle, he's put his hat on, and well, let's go talk to a witch about talking to a river.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: As you are making your way closer to the house, you notice immediately the door.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: has been broken off of its hinges.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: And not just broken off, the frame itself looks to be smashed outward, as if something impossibly wide and tall just walked right through it.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: Like something walked inward or came out of the house.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: Came out of the house.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, well, shit.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think rabbit rabbit did this.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_03]: I just hope my head is to see if anyone is inside.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_03]: You just see how I feel.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: Don't see anyone but the house is in total this array.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: There are smash bottles over turn tables.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: And there are these deep like whip marks or slashes or lashes scarred into the furnishings.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: Zequil turned like he from his stuff he will light up his little lantern and kind of like follow W behind just kind of see if like the light fill in the room to see what the real scene completely looks like they say no bear attack Looks like devil's work to me No surprise if she was a witch
- 19:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but if she's been up here for so long, what kind of armor can run, borrup on her territory and do this to her house?
- 19:51[SPEAKER_02]: Everything I know about witches is they protect their house is pretty well with wards and shit.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_03]: I'd damn it, see, what do we do now?
- 19:59[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we best put our detective hats on and figure out where she is, because we, I don't know how to talk to a river to you.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_03]: Do I look like I'm a river whisperer to you?
- 20:16[SPEAKER_02]: it was a joke let's let's see if we can find anything about what happened here and see if we can figure out maybe where she is or wherever this thing is that maybe took her or something better than just sitting around with our thumbs up our asses where are you looking to let's see how imagine that's just one floor right
- 20:39[SPEAKER_03]: Is there, like, a hearth or a stow for anything in this house?
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but it has been overturned, at least the stow has, but there is a hearth.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: And it has like a little, it has, there's a part of the wall, it's kind of jetted out so that you can place like little trinkets and items on it.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_03]: And is it cold?
- 21:00[SPEAKER_03]: There's no, there was no fire in there.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_03]: Recently, is there any way to tell how long ago this happened?
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: If you're looking, I would say, it's not freezing, but it's not warm either.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: So it does look like if you're looking in the earth, is that where you're searching around?
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: So you find that the logs in the wood that was inside still look pretty fresh.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_02]: Well, he's doing that Ziggs gonna put the like use the lantern to kind of look around to see like if there's a kitchen or a pantry of some sort and just taking in the scene He's gonna like rest that like pouch into his sternum Which is Michael's way of saying he's activating his relic in a way that so that he'll have some protection
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: I see, I see.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: There are some items that you find that have been toppled over and they kind of have, they have a different shine to them.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: You see, three items in particular.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: You see a charm on a red thread.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_01]: a card like it looks like a not a playing card maybe it's like tarot card size it has a moth on it has a gold sheen and then there is a wooded a wood and handled brush.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: Ziko look at these and hey you do have you what come take a look at these they got some strange vibes going on and you're more into this
- 22:38[SPEAKER_03]: look at the three items.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_03]: I'll pick up the wooden handle brush.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_03]: Is there hair in the brush?
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: There is hair in the brush.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_03]: Is it like what colors it is a long chore?
- 22:53[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes, it is like there are a few gray hairs in it, but I'm blonde, like dirty blonde, mixed in as well.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: They're fairly long.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: All tangled in.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_03]: And there was a charm
- 23:07[SPEAKER_03]: and a card card.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_03]: Zika, I don't know what this stuff means.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: Well, if it's out like this, it's probably important.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: I will say for W, even more than Zika.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: There's just a great feeling that there is something magical or supernatural connected to these three items.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: You feel that.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_03]: I, uh, I get the strange feeling that these belong to the witch.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if we should be messing with her things.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_02]: So, well, if we find her, we can give them back.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's better than dishonest folk taking him and using him for what will.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: Might as well recover them for her.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: She's clearly not here to keep an eye on the stuff.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be the first one to be like, hey, I saw these things.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_02]: I picked them up.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_02]: They looked important.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'll give it Rappek.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: They seem sentimental, you know?
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think happened to her?
- 24:10[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I know detective, but I do understand when an animal invades a space.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what happened in here, but something B steel came out and burst through the door.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_02]: Looking around, does it look like something was there any other door broken into or like a window smashed or just the front door?
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the windows are smashed as like residual damage, but the main damage is from the front door.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_02]: And the front door at burst outward, not coming in.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and you see, like, are you looking in that area?
- 24:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: OK, as you're looking in that area, you can see huge, heavy-booted footprints leading away from the house.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: As you take in the time to focus on what really happened,
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: will.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_02]: Looks like we got ourselves a trail to follow.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_02]: You know, let's pocket these for the for the witch is a for now and see where these old big boots take us and he will whistle for Prince to come running.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: He's a better tracker than I ever was.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: Just like his mama and yeah, Prince will
- 25:32[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna hobble out after him.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_03]: He kind of using the shovel almost like a walking stick to help him.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_03]: Keep up.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_03]: Your dog, good at tracking.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: Why do you think I'm so successful down in Philly?
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: It then.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_03]: We're losing the light.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: Good thing you don't need that to smell.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: You'll have them like, you'll have the dog look at the tracks, sniff around and try to get some sort of scent and kind of follow down through with the lantern still kind of dims it a little bit, but not, but just enough to kind of like look and like maybe a few feet in front of them to kind of keep an eye on where prints is who knows not to wander too far from him.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: As you guys are following the trail along the river,
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: The sound of the rushing water, next to you, it starts to get louder, noticefully loud.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: And it turns into a deafening roar.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: Eventually it is like, you know the great white water rapids sound?
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: It starts to get that loud.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: The water starts to boil and it surges violently.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's like completely incensed and a voice carries on the wind.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: I will destroy you for taking her.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: I will drown you for taking my protector.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: And a massive, crushing wave of water rises up.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_01]: And it crests above your head ready to smash down on all three of you.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: And that brings our time in the woods to a close.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: A massive thank you to our players Andrew Park as W.E.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: and Michael Gilbert as Ezekiel Green.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: My name is Maya and I have been your gay master and narrator.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for listening.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: Take care of yourselves, family, and remember.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's always best to leave them, go solo.
