- 0:04Speaker 1: of the Sunday scaries.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It is, it's the August scaries.
- 0:08Speaker 1: There is a thing called the August scaries.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Mental health experts are now recognizing it. It is a
- 0:13Speaker 2: real thing, they said. It's like the Sunday scaries. You know,
- 0:16Speaker 2: before you get back into the work week and you
- 0:18Speaker 2: get that anxiety. Even if you love your job, it
- 0:21Speaker 2: is stole a big week ahead of you, said, a
- 0:23Speaker 2: lot of people are starting to feel that summertime sadness.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Your favorite song, one of.
- 0:27Speaker 2: My favorite songs, and also also August Taylor's song, Oh Okay,
- 0:33Speaker 2: She's got a really good one, Covey. We need that
- 0:34Speaker 2: as well well. Experts say our brains prefer predictability, so
- 0:39Speaker 2: the thought of returning you to school schedules and busier
- 0:42Speaker 2: work days and shorter daylight hours can create anxiety, even
- 0:46Speaker 2: if these are positive changes, even if it's stuff you
- 0:49Speaker 2: like and you're looking forward to, it's a change. And
- 0:51Speaker 2: social media users have been describing August as the longest
- 0:55Speaker 2: Sunday ever.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Well, I have to say, I remember getting the August
- 1:00Speaker 1: is scary, but it was more Labor Day that was scary.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yes, and it was about going back to school, right.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, because back in my day it was mainly
- 1:08Speaker 1: after Labor Day we started. Yeah, now it starts like
- 1:11Speaker 1: in late August for our area, I mean already in Georgia.
- 1:14Speaker 2: But right, but I would start to feel it like
- 1:17Speaker 2: you knew it was coming to an end, right, Like
- 1:19Speaker 2: I would feel like once it flipped to August, it's like, oh,
- 1:21Speaker 2: it's going to end. And once the commercials start coming
- 1:23Speaker 2: on TV for back to school. And I told you
- 1:26Speaker 2: yesterday I was at Staples and I couldn't believe the line.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I've never seen it like that, and it was all
- 1:33Speaker 2: back to school. I think we had teachers in line,
- 1:35Speaker 2: and we had students getting prepared and it was like
- 1:38Speaker 2: it's on.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Can I play you a piece of audio? That gave
- 1:41Speaker 1: me anxiety? Yeah, it was a very good thing going
- 1:44Speaker 1: on on TV. But it would also make me realize
- 1:47Speaker 1: school was probably a couple of days away. Of course,
- 1:49Speaker 1: you know we're talking about here we go. I think
- 1:58Speaker 1: they start talking here, but this is the opening of
- 2:02Speaker 1: the Jerry Lewis MBA telephone.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Yes, oh, oh high.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Wrong. And now I would be blown away that this
- 2:17Speaker 1: guy Jerry Lewis would be on TV all night long. Yes,
- 2:20Speaker 1: on Labor Day.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Weekend, he was up for twenty four hours.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And then the bow tie would get all loose. Huh,
- 2:26Speaker 1: they have the toe board.
- 2:27Speaker 2: You've been beautiful and so has the world.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Look at those numbers anyway, that's him doing the tow board.
- 2:35Speaker 2: But did you always try and get your parents to
- 2:37Speaker 2: call I was? You know? Yeah, ask my mom like
- 2:39Speaker 2: can I call it? Can I call?
- 2:40Speaker 1: I wanted to see my name on the body and
- 2:42Speaker 1: they did a couple of times.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Oh you did you saw your name? Wow?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Not national right on the local feed. Yeah. Yeah, but
- 2:49Speaker 1: that brought back that was Labor Day weekend. School would
- 2:52Speaker 1: often start a couple of days after that.
- 2:55Speaker 2: So right after that that meant I had to start
- 2:56Speaker 2: going to bed.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Well, experts recommend that you focus on ahead, maintaining healthy
- 3:01Speaker 2: routines and planning fun fall activities to ease through the transition.
- 3:07Speaker 1: All right, give us a text if you think you
- 3:08Speaker 1: have the August scaries, It's okay.
