  And so one of the questions is how does Tesla intend to utilize

  cash in the, in the coming years will we increase catfish capex I

  guess you can read the question. Share BuyBacks dividends were

  Acquisitions well. It's interesting.

  Like Tesla has actually done very few Acquisitions apart from
• 0:28
  the SolarCity acquisition was the only really The big
• 0:31
  acquisition we did and then the next largest would be Tesla
• 0:33
  grohmann but it's tells us actually used a remarkably small
• 0:39
  amount of its Equity to do Acquisitions compared to other
• 0:42
  companies. The vast majority of our growth,
• 0:45
  basically, 90% of our growth has been organic, which I think is
• 0:49
  actually a really good thing if, but if we do see interesting
• 0:54
  companies we we will acquire them but our it.

  It's quite rare for us to acquire a company.

  But we are interested in companies that are very good at
• 1:07
  manufacturing automation software.

  A I met factoring technology in general that kind of thing we

  certainly will increase capex. I'm aware actually spending cap

  spending cap ex money and R&D money as fast as we can do so
• 1:29
  without wasting it. So this is not a constraint if
• 1:33
  we try to spend and at any faster we're just be wasting
• 1:35
  money. So we're cranking hard on capex
• 1:40
  and RD. Depending on what our future
• 1:46
  cash flow looks like, think a sort of share buyback is
• 1:51
  possible. I wouldn't want to commit to
• 1:53
  that but well you know this is make sure you know that there's
• 1:59
  not some force majeure event somewhere.

  You know we think we want to make sure we have plenty of
• 2:07
  capital that and that future cash flow is looking very solid

  and the world is relatively stable.

  And then, I think sure about buyback is is on the table.

  So how many factories are necessary to achieve 20 million

  vehicles? I think probably roughly a
• 2:31
  dozen. So we're aiming for one and a
• 2:37
  half to two million units per Factory.

  Now our Factory in California we're just running out of room
• 2:43
  so it's it's hard to get more than maybe 700 or 800 700 800
• 2:50
  thousand Vehicles a year out of their butt.

  Most most places will be aiming for one and a half to two.

  It doesn't site, although we are aiming for giant monolithic

  buildings. So I would talk pricing, it was

  unveiled in 2019 and the and the reservation was $99.

  But what I can say is that the Cyber truck will be one hell of

  a product, and it's going to be like a damn fine machine.

  So, And we are tracking to be in production middle of next year

  from this Factory. So we're installing, we're going

  to be installing the production equipment tooling and all
• 4:14
  starting in the next couple months will begin the

  installation. So aiming to be in volume

  production, middle of next year. So, Now, what could possibly go

  easier but we are aiming to just generally we analyze the

  supercharger usage every day and we prioritize supercharger

  locations according to where we see the greatest need with

  different and but it with some style and we're, you can, you

  know, get you know, some great food and the one in l.a. we're

  planning to have like these big screens at The Supercharged

  location and the screens will be aiming to show like The 100 100

  greatest movie clips of all time.

  And so you can like, you know, have a cheeseburger and a

  charge, your car and watch some cool.

  Cool stuff on the screen and it'll be open to others who are

  not, you know, you can come to the restaurant, if even if you

  don't own a Tesla, but it'll be like a, like a little gem, I

  think they're in LA. And, and then, depending on how

  that goes will, you know, we went roll that out to a few

  other places. We will try to interesting fun
• 7:55
  things that are not necessarily economically sensible but
• 7:59
  they're cool. So 4680, the this is a this is

  not an easy one to answer. We are making a decent number

  every week. And I think we will be in high
• 8:28
  volume production by the end of this year, it's always difficult
• 8:32
  to predict. This is because a lot of new
• 8:34
  technology, what's the slope of the s-curve on-ramp and accept
• 8:39
  that? I'm confident, we will get to
• 8:40
  the, you know, the high production rate but it's
• 8:44
  probably end of this year before we get confidently to a high
• 8:48
  production rate. But this does not affect our
• 8:52
  vehicle output. We actually have Have enough
• 8:56
  Supply from enough battery cell Supply, from suppliers to make
• 9:02
  one and a half million cars this year.

  So it's not a constraint on output it but it is it will be
• 9:08
  important for next year. And new master plan is not yet
• 9:16
  ready. I don't know.

  Maybe aim to get it done this month but like I said, it's

  going to be just looking at the big picture, what does it take

  to make earth fully self-sustaining from an energy

  standpoint? And yeah, just map it out and

  With Peak inflation behind us. So the inflation question is

  interesting because we do get a fair bit of insight into where
• 12:17
  prices of things are going over time because when you're making
• 12:22
  millions of cars, you have to purchase Commodities.
• 12:28
  Many months in advance of when they're needed.
• 12:31
  Like, you're so you need to tell because it's a very long supply
• 12:35
  chain. With a tremendous amount of
• 12:36
  inertia. So we sort of have some insight
• 12:39
  into where prices are headed over time.
• 12:43
  And the interesting thing that we're seeing now is that most of
• 12:49
  our Commodities. Most of the things that go into
• 12:51
  a Tesla, not oil, but I don't know more than half the prices
• 12:56
  are trending down in six months or six months from now, this
• 12:59
  could change obviously. But but the trend is down, which
• 13:02
  suggests that we are. Past Peak inflation.
• 13:08
  Now, making macroeconomic prognostications is a recipe for
• 13:15
  disaster but my guess is that we're past Peak inflation and
• 13:23
  that we will see We will have a recession.
• 13:28
  I think it will be a relatively mild recession sort of the I'm
• 13:34
  just guessing here. This is total speculation but I
• 13:39
  would guess it's a it's a You know, mild recession for 18
• 13:44
  months or something like that. It would be my best.

  Guess right now, we don't have fundamental capital
• 13:52
  misallocations in the, in the us as we have had in the past,
• 13:57
  like, at, leading up to 2008, where we were building primary
• 14:01
  housing units at twice, the rate of of household formation which
• 14:05
  obviously doesn't make sense. And there were a lot of
• 14:09
  companies that were over levered.
• 14:11
  And the The Leverage or debt, that companies have right now is
• 14:15
  relatively low. so, yeah, I would say probably a mild
• 14:21
  moderate recession, maybe 18 months wish and and I think we
• 14:30
  think inflation is going to drop rapidly.

  That's my guess I don't. What do you guys think?

  All right. He had the Tesla robot,

  essentially changing the economy.

  Like we based on economy on automation, AI with the full

  self-driving that's being implemented.

  You're going to have a full Fleet of vehicles that can drive

  themselves. You'll have these robots that
• 14:59
  can go and get into your vehicle and place things will you be
• 15:02
  moving to a rental model or how will you base a Tesla Model on
• 15:08
  selling cars? Whenever these cars are fully
• 15:10
  automated can drive wherever they would like and hopefully
• 15:13
  would be applicable to having multiple people use.

  The vehicle instead of just one person. yeah, so it's
• 15:22
  interesting to think about, I Don't Wanna Miss car because
• 15:25
  when you drive around Look at you.
• 15:28
  Look at how many cars are parked like they're just parking lots
• 15:31
  full of cars everywhere because cars need a driver.
• 15:35
  And so most of the time they're doing nothing typically a
• 15:40
  passenger cars going to be like 12 hours a week or something
• 15:43
  like that or of usage. Absolute autonomous, maybe it
• 15:49
  can get to 50 or 60 hours of usage.
• 15:52
  And that sort of, you know, 45 time for 45 fold Improvement in
• 15:56
  the utility of a car. But the interesting thing is
• 16:02
  that the car still cost the same.
• 16:05
  So in that scenario, at least for some period of time, the
• 16:11
  effect of gross margin on autonomous car is kind of
• 16:16
  boggles the Mind. so in terms of how the cause will be operated,
• 16:26
  I mean I think it would be you know, just you have the option
• 16:31
  of owning a car Using a car just occasionally, when you need it
• 16:37
  like an auto Uber or something like that and there would be
• 16:43
  people and then an owner of a car could decide that they want
• 16:46
  to use their car or they want to add or subtract it to the fleet.

  So I think it would end up being some kind of combination of like
• 16:54
  Airbnb and Uber or something like that, you know.
• 16:57
  So sometimes you know, you can go all the way from owning it to
• 17:01
  rent, take it sometimes to renting it a lot to completely
• 17:05
  random but the, but the utility of the car will just be
• 17:12

  really bring the future to now so, yeah, maybe Maybe, maybe you

  could rent Optimus out early. I mean, assuming we get all

  these things, we do all these things.

  the questions and ideas posed by retail investors like small

  actually the most insightful and it's I find it remarkable that

  get a essentially amateur or like normal everyday.

  People actually understand Tesla better than the analysts.

  I mean, I must you must see this. it's like, that's like And

  I mean think like you don't really say like what like what's

  the what's the, what's the point of a company is the point of a

  company is to create useful products, and services, you

  bit too much about short-term things that which you're clearly

  just, you know, just bumps in the road type of thing where

  there might be a supplier shortage or a, you know, some

  shut down in some part of the world.

  But it really those things are, you know, are clearly just kind

  of one-off items and don't really matter for the long term.

  The, the sort of, you know, the the trend if you like looking at

  the sort of cumulative, output and cumulative miles driven, and

  you can see that that cumulative output is a very clean

  exponential and it's so, you know, so I guess sometimes

  people Fred a little bit too much about this quarter or that

  quarter but you know, if you're a shareholder in a company is

  really like the net present value of future cash.

  Flows. And so, what is it?

  something we do in the car. So in the car, we carefully

  manage the the electrical and the thermal energy And so, like

  one of the ways that we achieve long range in cold weather, is

  by both charging a pack and heating the pack.

  And then the pack acts as a both an electrical and a thermal

  Reservoir to achieve long range even in very cold climates.

  And so, we're constantly within the car, shuttling heat back and

  forth between motor driver motor, Power Electronics, pack,

  and the cabin volume. So that same concept should be

  Network, the robo taxi business. Well, you see, I think it's

  actually going to be probably much more widespread than that

  because Tesla's is developing a general solution for
• 26:34
  self-driving and it's not really specific to one city or
• 26:39
  location. Now, there's different
• 26:41
  regulatory requirements in various cities and states.

  So some locations will offer a regulatory approval sooner than
• 26:50
  others. But but we are aiming for a
• 26:53
  general solution, and In fact, if if you, if you created a sort

  of a, a randomly generated alternate Earth, our system
• 27:07
  would still work, like, literally, you know, like your
• 27:10
  head sort of computer-generated Earth that, you know, obeyed
• 27:14
  roughly the same rules. As current Earth system is
• 27:18
  sufficiently generalized. That it would work in a
• 27:23
  computer-generated ultimate Earth.

  Well, I think Tesla's definitely Gathering a lot of momentum and

  we have a very exciting product roadmap that will last a long

  time. So now if the execution against

  that roadmap is is difficult because these are not simple

  products. They're not copies of what
• 28:36
  anyone else is doing their new things, so but I intend to stay

  with Tesla as long as I can be useful. and, doctor be most

  useful, I think on the product design and manufacturing of also

  basically Factory design Product design and sort of manufacturing

  optimization, so. And we do have a very talented

  team here. So I think, I think Tesla would

  continue to do very well even if I was kidnapped by aliens, Oh

  answer open to ideas that, you know, I'm definitely working as

  hard as I can. And I'm very excited about the

  its got a very bright, very bright future even without me.

  You know, I always have to be a little careful about what I say

  with about Twitter, because, you know, this is like lawsuit and

  stuff. So sometimes people get bent out

  of shape. But I do use Twitter a lot, so

  it's not like, I'm like randomly going around wanting to acquire

  companies or something. I'm not like a hedge fund, I'm

  not a hedge fund, your private Equity Firm or something.

  So, in fact, the only to publicly traded Securities, I

  own or Tesla on Twitter, that's it.

  So and I think, in the case of Twitter, since I use it a lot,

  Shoot myself in the foot a lot, you know, take my grave cetera,

  but you know, I think it's, I do understand the product quite

  well. So I think I've got a good sense

  of where to where to point the engineering team with a Twitter

  to make it radically better and I do it.

  I do sort of have a will is like a grander vision.

  For what I thought, x.com, or X Corporation could have been back

  in the day. It's a pretty pretty Grand

  Vision. And obviously, that could be

  started from scratch or but I think Twitter would help

  accelerate that by 3 to 5 years, So, it's kind of like something

  at least a three-year accelerant and I think it's something that
